T.C. puts his riding vest on the pickup seat and heads toward Bagnell Dam. There’s a leather shop on the Strip that might finally persuade his patch to stay attached.

Crossing the dam gives him a view of the lake—and a little time to think about the people whose work put it there. Before vacationers came for the water, sightseers came to watch the work. Businesses grew around them, and Bagnell Dam Boulevard became a destination of its own.

Now T.C. has an errand there, an orange streamer to catch, and news of some music he doesn’t want to miss.
