- 0:05I consider myself a woman who does not believe in the supernatural or anything after
- 0:09death in any relation to a supreme being or anything that has anything to do
- 0:14with similar subjects. But my perspective on all this changed on a Thursday night,
- 0:19in my routine, I usually leave work late every day, which is
- 0:24located on an avenue that is usually very crowded. Despite that, the street
- 0:29is always alone and the little lighting on its way makes it even worse.
- 0:35During the three months I' ve been working at the restaurant, I never
- 0:40had a problem because of the previous situation, because I have a car.
- 0:43My only small conflict is parking, where every day I used to leave it,
- 0:49which is especially for workers. It was in the smallest part of the
- 0:54site that was to the end, without lighting and outdoors. N n n
- 0:59n n n n n n the person near or some car that was located
- 1:03near the beginning of the parking lot. There were only a few of the
- 1:07workers' cars still inside the restaurant without emergency exits. When I went to
- 1:15work at the restaurant, my colleagues immediately told me supernatural stories that supposedly happened
- 1:22in the place, but, as I said at the beginning of my story,
- 1:26I didn' t believe anything about it. I even came to think
- 1:29of them as some kind of hazing in order to scare me. But I
- 1:34' ve never had an interest in those conversational issues, so I always made
- 1:40fun of everything that I was told for that purpose, because something silly and
- 1:44absurd was done to me, no matter what your story was about. For
- 1:49me anything was insignificant and I interrupted them immediately, giving my point of view
- 1:55from a logical perspective or based on real possibilities. Besides, I thought that
- 2:00by mocking me, people would no longer tell those stories in front of me,
- 2:06which I longed for, because at that point I was totally fed up
- 2:09with the situation. But it was the opposite. At one point I started
- 2:14to pay some attention and it was so I noticed something interesting in those supernatural
- 2:20stories that my co- workers were commenting on, and it was that all
- 2:24those supposed anecdotes that related with all the possible mystery, were very similar to
- 2:30each other. By chance, everyone had seen an old woman with a rough
- 2:34look, with clothes, dirty, gray eyes, with her mouth cooked,
- 2:38and after seeing her, the versions of my companions changed. Some told me
- 2:44they could see their greatest fears in their eyes. Some others said that they
- 2:49heard the scream of a girl bursting their eardrums and others said something rather macabre,
- 2:53saying that they touched their faces and could see their death with it.
- 2:59The stories about it were many. Each of them developed and concluded in a
- 3:04different way. Some posed in more frightening situations than others, but the beginning
- 3:10was the same. Always the same old woman with the same characteristics of emaciated
- 3:16appearance, with clothes, dirty, grey eyes and with the mouth cooked.
- 3:22With all these aspects, I began to rethink the situation, just as in
- 3:25horror films, where from a coincidence, they manage to spin and discover some
- 3:30mystery or some terrifying case that develops in a kind of chain. In time,
- 3:37listening to all these stories intrigued my mind, for they told it with
- 3:43so much terror and sought to avoid it at all costs. They told me
- 3:46that even after seeing her, they had constant nightmares with their faces that were
- 3:51very difficult for them to wake up and come back to reality, because they
- 3:55even said that when they opened their eyes, they felt as if someone were
- 4:01staring at us in the middle of the darkness. But, contrary to them,
- 4:04all the things they related were kind of echoing in my mind and far
- 4:10from scaring me, I did not stop feeling an immense interest in knowing it,
- 4:15as after spending my whole life incredulous of all those things. Having an
- 4:18encounter with something supernatural for the first time in my life seemed to me something
- 4:25that could be transcendent in my beliefs, as they well say out there that
- 4:30the only way to believe in something is by personally checking it and that'
- 4:34s just what I longed for. Maybe only then could he enter the world
- 4:36of those who tell such anecdotes. As their skin stands, the intrigue over
- 4:43the so- named character who in this case was the old woman made me
- 4:47commit madness. The intention to know something supernatural led me to invoke it or
- 4:53at least at first I had only the will to make it work, but
- 4:58it should be mentioned that I had no idea how to achieve it, so
- 5:03I set out to investigate as much as possible how to invoke a lost spirit.
- 5:08That' s how I spent several nights. Upon arrival from work,
- 5:12I ran to the computer to continue my research. I even created a folder
- 5:16in which I was guarding all the information I thought was important or that could
- 5:23possibly help me achieve the initial purpose. On all the pages and sources of
- 5:27information I found they had in common the place where the lighting should be performed,
- 5:33the request for their presence on the site and even the time at which
- 5:36it should be carried out with the idea of that information and with all the
- 5:43data that it had managed to collect. I set out to set the plan
- 5:46in motion on a Thursday night, following all the instructions to the letter.
- 5:51I chose that day because everyone except me was leaving early, so I was
- 5:58there with all the will to have my encounter with a supernatural entity or,
- 6:01whatever, that it was that old woman they were telling me so much about.
- 6:05Then I looked for the right space to invoke it. According to all
- 6:10that he had investigated, of course, when it came to the invocation of
- 6:15a spirit, clearly all the instructions included very strange things that fit perfectly in
- 6:20the gloomy. Everything had to keep the same terrifying atmosphere worthy of a horror
- 6:27movie. I meditated a little on the perfect place to carry out my plan.
- 6:32I walked a little around the restaurant, considering all the spaces, but
- 6:38none seemed so convincing to me and I didn' t want to risk anything
- 6:43could fail and feel bad, since, after so much preparation time, I
- 6:46didn' t want to get disappointed in that experience. Moreover, from what
- 6:50he had read, it is not so easy to achieve the invocation of a
- 6:55spirit, for it greatly influences the energy of the person and some other circumstances,
- 7:00so he wished to be able to consummate it. I inspected every place.
- 7:04I put myself in the middle and tried to visualize how it would happen,
- 7:10but suddenly I felt the hunch that it was not the right place to
- 7:14do it. I was about to surrender in the middle of my search for
- 7:17the restaurant, when I suddenly remembered a place that could be perfect to start
- 7:23the plan. I took my stuff and rushed out to the parking lot.
- 7:30Indeed, from my first steps on the site I could notice that it was
- 7:33just as required by the instructions. At that time I was alone with zero
- 7:40lighting and no distractions that could ruin my plan, so I couldn' t
- 7:44help but smile triumphantly, as if that had already ensured that everything would be
- 7:48perfect. I had every intention of staying strong throughout the process, but suddenly
- 7:55I realized that I was totally alone in a place that prayed only if I
- 7:59had an illuminated point, all that was around me was silence and a gloomy
- 8:03atmosphere. I must admit, as I realized this, the nerves began to
- 8:11invade me more than the paranormal. If something failed, whether or not it
- 8:16was the invocation for more than shouting at anyone could help me again. I
- 8:20took a few moments to meditate on what I was about to do, but
- 8:24my stubbornness had already taken me too far, so regretting at that time was
- 8:31not an option as I could get courage to leave the nerves behind and I
- 8:35started repeating the invocational phrases I had previously investigated, demanding the presence of the
- 8:41old woman with the voice a little shaky. As it was an empty parking
- 8:48lot, only the echo of my own voice, which gradually faded away,
- 8:52answered me. After that nothing happened. I kept standing there just as,
- 8:58as I had begun, nothing appeared or was heard, which managed to irritate
- 9:03me, but it also helped me to leave my nerves out. I was
- 9:07waiting for an answer, which obviously did not arrive at that time, so
- 9:11again I repeated the words of invocation. But this occasion, with a firm
- 9:16and annoying voice, I waited for a response, a manifestation of his presence
- 9:22in the place no matter how small, but nothing happened. Despair began to
- 9:26take hold of me, as nothing was coming out as planned. I insisted
- 9:31again on saying the same words and nothing happened. I tried changing my speech.
- 9:39I walked all over the parking lot to the last corner. I tried
- 9:43every possible phrase of invocation, even recited words in another language that I had
- 9:48drawn from an ancient book, but nothing happened. I only listened to my
- 9:52echo over and over again and ended up getting bored of the situation that seemed
- 9:58ridiculous to me at that point. O s s s s or was very
- 10:01disappointed that he had not invoked the blissful spirit. I had already imagined telling
- 10:05my new paranormal anecdote the next day, but that would not be possible,
- 10:11although, on the other hand, I also felt proud and triumphant for always
- 10:15being right about that nonsense. I knew there was none of that and even
- 10:20felt sorry to even give me the chance to prove something so absurd. I
- 10:26knew there wasn' t any of that. Spirits or demons do not exist
- 10:31on earth and much less do things like those my colleagues told me. I
- 10:37gave up leaving the subject behind, but was happy to check the ignorance of
- 10:41my companions, so I left home the next Thursday as usual, I left
- 10:46later than the other days. I never had a problem with that until that
- 10:52bastard. Thursday. That day I left the restaurant with my hearing aids very
- 10:58focused on a new song that I had recently discovered and that I really loved.
- 11:05The rhythm was quite peculiar, so I even closed my eyes for an
- 11:09instant to appreciate each note. With my eyes on my shoes. He sang
- 11:13every sentence unmeasuredly. Suddenly I had a strange feeling in my body as if
- 11:18I suddenly found myself in another dubious dimension. I looked up and then the
- 11:24gray- eyed old woman with a gritty look and her mouth was cooked.
- 11:28He was standing right in front of me staring at me and his expression was
- 11:33not something to reassure me. When I looked at her, I couldn'
- 11:37t believe it. The impact was so strong that I immediately took off my
- 11:41hearing aids My heart turned completely in fear, because I had the wrong idea
- 11:46that that woman of whom I had been told to weariness did not exist,
- 11:50because the week before, when I tried to invoke her, it had been
- 11:56a total failure, so I did not understand why she was in front of
- 12:01me and much less how that was possible, I was amazed with the look
- 12:05in complete shock before her, because at that moment it was undoubtedly real.
- 12:07For many years I had remained totally incredulous, claiming that the supernatural was not
- 12:13true. I went blank. I couldn' t think of anything. Fear
- 12:18had paralyzed me and I could not react, for I had never felt that
- 12:22way. It was a very strange feeling to me. The nerves and terror
- 12:26ran all over my body with the voice cut and without considering it, I
- 12:33took the courage to say the first thing that crossed my mind and dared to
- 12:37ask what your name is. She looked at me deeply with a great evil
- 12:43in her eyes. Grey I swear that I had never seen anything so evil
- 12:48as what was in front of my eyes. The old woman' s gaze
- 12:52radiated a terrible fury, capable of intimidating anyone. At that time I understood
- 12:56my companions and wished I had believed them from the beginning. Looking at those
- 13:01gray eyes, I felt like my body was traveling elsewhere like I was in
- 13:07some sort of trance. It was strange, I didn' t feel in
- 13:11the real plane and the feeling was to some extent numb and I became unstable.
- 13:16As I stared at his eyes I could see My death began with a
- 13:22tragic accident in which he was dying of pain. He cried desperately for help,
- 13:26but it was in vain. Suddenly I felt as if my soul was
- 13:31slowly shed from my body and was able to visualize me in the scene where
- 13:35I had lost my life. I was walking among the people who were watching
- 13:39the scene. It was desperate. I wanted to run, hug my family,
- 13:45see my friends for the last time enjoy the taste of my favorite food
- 13:50listen to those songs that made me so happy, but I was just wandering
- 13:54through the darkness. I only saw myself there without being able to do anything
- 13:58to save myself. After that I felt as if I was traveling faster without
- 14:03being able to stop and again stood in front of me. But this time
- 14:07my lifeless body was in a coffin. I looked around and saw a lot
- 14:11of people I didn' t know crying when I saw other people there that
- 14:16I couldn' t tell their face from, but that I could feel the
- 14:20pain they were pining for my departure. I also saw a man sitting in
- 14:24the front row crying dimly while holding an old red Frisby. But as he
- 14:31looked at it, he felt an immense love for him and a deep regret
- 14:35that he was no longer at his side in the midst of that situation He
- 14:41could only feel much sadness and pain, for he felt terribly real. I
- 14:43couldn' t help but cry desperately. I was trying to scream to get
- 14:48back to reality, but it was impossible. It took several minutes, but
- 14:52they felt like it was hours and like I was gonna get stuck there forever.
- 14:58Suddenly I was going back to my last memory, like I was in
- 15:01a time machine. I felt my last breath, I heard the laughter and
- 15:05beautiful words that gave me in life all the people I loved I saw the
- 15:11best moments of my life, as if it were a photographic album where I
- 15:16could appreciate that, after all my life I had had many fascinating things that
- 15:20made me enjoy myself to the fullest. I knew love, hate, sadness,
- 15:24loneliness, happiness and finally, in a breath, I managed to feel
- 15:30peace by stopping suffering. I felt my tired body full of pain and it
- 15:35hurt to move to the depths of my soul. I saw myself at the
- 15:39last moment coming to eternal rest. Although it was inevitable, to be sad
- 15:45not to have that life that I had so much desired beside my partner,
- 15:48not to form a family with him and not to be more there to witness
- 15:52his triumphs and defeats with love, I felt pain to abandon him and not
- 15:56die by his side, as we had dreamed so much. I knew he
- 16:00was with me, watching me suffer from the pain in my body for having
- 16:06to see me die. I knew I was dying at some point in our
- 16:10short, but comfortable time together hurt me to leave it, but the feeling
- 16:15of dying was strong. I really wanted to die at that moment so as
- 16:18not to feel any more pain. When I finished seeing his eyes, I
- 16:23felt like my body was coming back to me or me to him. I
- 16:27recovered the notion of time and again my senses were alert. I immediately remembered
- 16:33what had happened and began to emerge from the crash that had completely collapsed.
- 16:37But when I was able to recover my body and mind completely, she had
- 16:44left or at least that day was no longer in front of me, watching
- 16:48me with all the anger I could never have imagined if it wasn' t
- 16:52because I could live it in my own flesh during the following days, I
- 16:59could still feel her macabre presence near me as if that wasn' t scary
- 17:02enough. Strange things began to happen in my house, like the movement of
- 17:07strange noises. The clock changed time alone for moments. I thought I was
- 17:14being suggested by the event that had hit me days before, but things were
- 17:18getting weirder and out of logic. Besides, I really felt different. It
- 17:26was as if all the time I felt the look or the presence of someone
- 17:30beside me and constantly looked around me, but there was never anyone. Suddenly
- 17:36I felt scattered, unable to concentrate on the important aspects of my life.
- 17:41I was afraid of going out on the street or being anywhere dark. Some
- 17:47nights while trying to fall asleep, I kept remembering that day and everything I
- 17:52had been able to visualize. Again I thought of my companions and of the
- 17:59occasions that came from the veiled ones to work, having not been able to
- 18:03sleep because of the nightmares that they had after their encounter with the old woman,
- 18:08I tried everything I prayed for the soul of that woman so that she
- 18:12would find eternal rest and stop tormenting those who managed to see her. I
- 18:15saw myself die young. I don' t know exactly how old I would
- 18:19be, but I know I wasn' t even thirty, and that terrifies
- 18:22me to date, because I am now twenty- five years old from that
- 18:27macabre moment. Every birthday is a terror to me and a great torture.
- 18:32I haven' t had any health problems yet, but I developed an obsession
- 18:37with knowing my state of health. I continually feel like I' m a
- 18:41time bomb that' s going to explode at any moment. After a lot
- 18:45of thinking in my head, I couldn' t get back to work.
- 18:49After that day. I still don' t remember very well, just like
- 18:53my desperation to run out of the restaurant. I couldn' t be anywhere
- 18:57near there. He wasn' t even able to go back and sign my
- 19:02resignation. He couldn' t stay a second longer. There I was filled
- 19:06with the memory of that stormy Thursday and to this day I am terrified to
- 19:11think about it. After that I' ve been afraid to live. I
- 19:15once tried to tell my psychologist what happened, but instead of giving me the
- 19:18right therapy to get over it, she only ordered psychiatry to take me on
- 19:25more tranquilizers, because she thought I had psychosis episodes. So I was on
- 19:30medication for a while. For a moment. I came to think that if
- 19:34I was crazy and losing all my mind, because that time was not the
- 19:40last, because a few months later, while I was preparing to leave home
- 19:45to do some unfinished activities, again I felt paralyzed and looking around, I
- 19:49managed to recognize the old woman again. With my mouth cooked on my door,
- 19:53I could hear her screaming my name as if she were waiting for me.
- 19:59That Thursday was a cursed day for me, but I hold on to
- 20:02recognizing that every action or thought we have brings us a consequence that can be
- 20:07of any kind. I think everything was better when I was wading this kind
- 20:11of thing, when I was even making fun of those who were telling these
- 20:17kinds of stories with so much terror. Everything was so absurd to me that
- 20:21I never thought anything could happen to me. So far I regret having so
- 20:25much of an encounter with that old woman, although making a recount of the
- 20:30event, I realized that maybe that wasn' t my real catapult. Perhaps
- 20:34everything would have been left alone in the terror of seeing her in front of
- 20:40me with her macabre gray eyes prostrate in me. Now I think maybe I
- 20:44should have prayed for his soul at that moment, run, scream or avoid
- 20:48doing that which so far torments me And I do speak of my foolish foolishness
- 20:52for knowing his name, which far from answering me led me to have a
- 20:57horrible and unnecessary visualization of my death and the memory of such harsh images torment
- 21:03me to date. If I could turn back time, I would start by
- 21:08listening seriously to my colleagues for giving them the attention and support they expected from
- 21:14me, as well as me. I don' t need to now,
- 21:17but above all I' d say to myself that it doesn' t matter
- 21:19if it' s in front of me. It' s better not to
- 21:22ask her name. Anonymous account
