- 1:24Speaker 2: Yesterday I was walking out of the building and we
- 1:26Speaker 2: were looking all around all day long and we figured
- 1:29Speaker 2: you were at least gonna get struck by lightning once
- 1:30Speaker 2: or twice. How was your experience you traverse World World
- 1:34Speaker 2: Cup friendly yesterday?
- 1:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I got to work it. They gave me a
- 1:38Speaker 4: microphone as the England's men's national team is taking on
- 1:42Speaker 4: Costa Rica for a little pre tune up World Cup
- 1:46Speaker 4: tournament friendly. It was breathtaking it was stunning. It was
- 1:50Speaker 4: It honestly feels like a fever dream. Really well, there
- 1:53Speaker 4: are just some of those players, and I know it's
- 1:55Speaker 4: not for everyone, but I've been following Jordan Henderson for
- 2:00Speaker 4: the better part of the last eight years, and there
- 2:02Speaker 4: he was right there in front of me.
- 2:03Speaker 3: What's who is the uh? I don't mean this in
- 2:06Speaker 3: a disrest You don't worry.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I don't mean I don't mean this in a disrespectful manner,
- 2:10Speaker 2: but you would know this person before I would. Who
- 2:12Speaker 2: is this albino looking dude that is everybody's talking about.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I don't even know who he plays for, but he's
- 2:18Speaker 2: this giant like sheet white dude. And apparently he is
- 2:23Speaker 2: a Terminator esque kind of player. Do you know who
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'm talking about? Maybe?
- 2:26Speaker 4: Well, there is a player with the nickname Terminator, and
- 2:29Speaker 4: I believe you're talking about Erling Holland.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think that maybe is him. He plays
- 2:33Speaker 3: for Norway.
- 2:34Speaker 4: He has a gigantic pony tail, He's got a little hey,
- 2:37Speaker 4: you guys energy.
- 2:41Speaker 2: He does have a little you guys energy. Earl Holland
- 2:44Speaker 2: A perfect way to put it.
- 2:46Speaker 4: I don't want to just dominate this first segment here
- 2:48Speaker 4: but Jim there it was. It was a very special
- 2:51Speaker 4: day for me. I've been following the sport internationally, uh
- 2:55Speaker 4: for the last twenty years, and I know that ad. Yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 4: what I know about just England fans.
- 3:03Speaker 3: They go hard. There's literal movies about it.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Yeah, and uh, there were so many wins between me
- 3:09Speaker 4: and the England fans.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I love it, man. There was two losses. What were
- 3:15Speaker 3: the two losses? Are you guys ready for this?
- 3:17Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 3:18Speaker 3: Yeah, all right. Look at that Neanderthal. Look at him
- 3:21Speaker 3: as monster.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Earlen Holland is a scary looking man. I am in
- 3:25Speaker 4: front of the England fans and it's going good. Sweet
- 3:29Speaker 4: Carolina is playing Dunn. We're having a blast, right, and
- 3:34Speaker 4: all of a sudden, man, I just I hear it
- 3:36Speaker 4: break out, one person, two people.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I can't say they're chance, so I'll do my best.
- 3:41Speaker 3: But they start going like.
- 3:43Speaker 6: Us, oh, wellson us, oh, wed wellsones, well, they thought
- 3:49Speaker 6: you were Owen Wilson. They're not saying it's there's I'm
- 3:52Speaker 6: censoring myself.
- 3:54Speaker 2: S oh. They're calling me the s version of.
- 4:00Speaker 7: That.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Yeah. I have never fell down so nighted. Yeah, yeah
- 4:06Speaker 3: that's great.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Did you give him a little bit on the little
- 4:08Speaker 2: win on the thank you I did.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Not I didn't give him was absolutely on.
- 4:14Speaker 3: England lot.
- 4:17Speaker 8: Mind.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I know it's because I can only do the impression
- 4:20Speaker 4: really quietly.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I'll get out of here.
- 4:22Speaker 4: You had a microphone that's not going to translate live
- 4:25Speaker 4: in front of twenty thousand people who are screaming and
- 4:27Speaker 4: glood glood.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So it was overwhelmingly in England or an English crowd
- 4:32Speaker 2: to night.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Yes, we were told to treat it like a home
- 4:34Speaker 4: team game for England. But guess what, Jim, this is
- 4:38Speaker 4: all right, that was the first loss. But guess what
- 4:40Speaker 4: I looked at the fans I said, I wish I
- 4:42Speaker 4: was owing Wilson.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I know that's a loss. I mean that's on you, right,
- 4:45Speaker 3: it's kind of cool, right.
- 4:46Speaker 4: I think it's hopefully they're not just talking specifically, knows.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I think they're also talking you know, hair and overall vibe.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Because anybody was like, dude, owen Wilson's nose, I'd be like,
- 4:56Speaker 4: and what else?
- 4:57Speaker 8: Wow?
- 4:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I didn't want that. But so the other part
- 5:02Speaker 4: of the England fans all of a sudden when that's happening.
- 5:05Speaker 4: I even make a joke on the mic going I
- 5:07Speaker 4: just want to say thank you to the England supporters
- 5:10Speaker 4: for letting me know that I am a bad version
- 5:12Speaker 4: of Owen Wilson. So I got, you know, I kind
- 5:15Speaker 4: of I got my banter on a little bit having
- 5:18Speaker 4: a blast. And then Jim, there was this one moment.
- 5:21Speaker 4: There's a moment me Sabrina. We are right there in
- 5:24Speaker 4: front of the England fans and we're having a blast,
- 5:26Speaker 4: and I see this guy and he's got the bag
- 5:28Speaker 4: of vance hat. You know what I'm talking about. Yeah,
- 5:31Speaker 4: he's older. Yeah, he's kind of I'll be honest with you,
- 5:34Speaker 4: a little bit of an older British U. Okay, I
- 5:36Speaker 4: like this already. Right, you're shorter but the same weight.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Oh okay, okay, yeah, okay, here's a little ratna. And
- 5:45Speaker 4: all of a sudden he looks at me and goes
- 5:47Speaker 4: f off, f off, f off.
- 5:50Speaker 3: He told you the f off for no reason, all
- 5:52Speaker 3: of a.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Sudden, backwards peace signs by right there in front of me.
- 5:56Speaker 4: I'm dead.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I'm getting hit with the British.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Fu O w I for no reason, for no reason,
- 6:02Speaker 4: I couldn't tell you to be honest with you. I
- 6:04Speaker 4: have no idea, but it's so I look at it,
- 6:07Speaker 4: and I'm such a kid in the candy shop. I'm like,
- 6:10Speaker 4: this is awes.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Like, it's like like Don Rickles taking a shot at you.
- 6:14Speaker 2: You're like, oh god, awesome.
- 6:15Speaker 4: Well then his wife taps him on the shoulder to
- 6:17Speaker 4: be like, what's wrong. That's what I thought she was
- 6:19Speaker 4: tapping on the shoulder. But as soon as the husband
- 6:22Speaker 4: looks at the girl, the wife, uh and this guy's
- 6:24Speaker 4: probably like mid sixties, and he looks at his wife
- 6:27Speaker 4: and goes tells him, explains, and then the wife looks
- 6:30Speaker 4: at me. She starts going f off.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Two people bleed into four people. Four people bleed into
- 6:36Speaker 4: twelve real quick. Because it's like a school fish.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Oh yeah, if one's doing it, the others just kind
- 6:41Speaker 3: of get in there.
- 6:42Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, so one fish goes left.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Well guess what, some of the fish are also gonna
- 6:48Speaker 4: just go real fast. I think at its most there's
- 6:51Speaker 4: about a fifty person all of a sudden, get move.
- 6:56Speaker 2: They all saying screw you to you.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Yeah, we don't know why not really, it's could we
- 7:03Speaker 3: ever find out why?
- 7:05Speaker 2: Everything else went really well?
- 7:06Speaker 4: Like I partied with them during the game, but there
- 7:09Speaker 4: was that one moment and I I loved every second
- 7:12Speaker 4: of it.
- 7:13Speaker 3: I don't know, man, that's awesome. I don't know if
- 7:14Speaker 3: I liked English abuse.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Well, I had a great experience though. It was phenomenal
- 7:20Speaker 2: and you get to work it. You weren't even in
- 7:21Speaker 2: the stands, which is even better. You're closer to the actions.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I was right next to Jude Bellingham, I was right
- 7:26Speaker 4: next to Harry Kane, and those are words I never
- 7:28Speaker 4: thought I would ever say.
- 7:29Speaker 3: That's so crazy and Harry Kane yet.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Lions. It's like the first time that England's men's national
- 7:40Speaker 4: team has ever played in Orlando or been in Orlando
- 7:43Speaker 4: for twenty years or maybe ever. And it's just I
- 7:46Speaker 4: understand the World Cup is not for everybody, but the
- 7:48Speaker 4: one thing that should be for everybody is our great country,
- 7:51Speaker 4: and our country right now has a great opportunity of
- 7:55Speaker 4: being a really likable host. And so far I got
- 7:58Speaker 4: to say, good, very nice. European mind can't contain all right,
- 8:04Speaker 4: well are we throwing down out of gas station?
- 8:06Speaker 3: All right?
- 8:06Speaker 9: Four?
- 8:06Speaker 2: Or seven nine one six one four one? Text us
- 8:09Speaker 2: at seven seven zero three one was having a conversation
- 8:11Speaker 2: with somebody yesterday and uh we mentioned being a lawyer,
- 8:15Speaker 2: and uh, he said, he goes, you don't have to
- 8:18Speaker 2: have a degree to be a lawyer in Florida. Now
- 8:20Speaker 2: I did not look this up because I did not
- 8:22Speaker 2: want to know, because he quoted the whole Kim Kardashian
- 8:24Speaker 2: thing out in California. She didn't go to law school
- 8:27Speaker 2: or did she go to law school?
- 8:28Speaker 4: She did? She did.
- 8:29Speaker 10: I know some states all you have to do is
- 8:31Speaker 10: pass the bar. If you do that, you can be
- 8:33Speaker 10: a lawyer.
- 8:33Speaker 2: And that's my question, Like in this state, I mean,
- 8:36Speaker 2: is that the case if you just went to the
- 8:38Speaker 2: library or hopped online and you got a syllabus where
- 8:42Speaker 2: you could study where you know it kind of guided
- 8:44Speaker 2: you toward what discipline of law you wanted to handle.
- 8:48Speaker 2: You went in there, you studied, your study, you studied,
- 8:50Speaker 2: and you took the bar and you passed it. Theoretically,
- 8:52Speaker 2: you could not have a degree in law and still
- 8:55Speaker 2: practice law in this state.
- 8:56Speaker 9: I know a guy just got arrested for misrepresenting himself
- 9:00Speaker 9: as an attorney at a traffic style.
- 9:01Speaker 10: Yeah, I saw that. I know you can't fly a
- 9:04Speaker 10: plane without a license.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Well that's in Canada. We know that.
- 9:07Speaker 9: I would imagine, I mean, I assume in most places, Actually, yeah, yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 9: I would hope in most places, jet that you have
- 9:14Speaker 9: to be a piloted, our licensed pilot to get behind
- 9:16Speaker 9: the jet.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Yeah, because we're all involved in that sentence. I actually
- 9:21Speaker 4: I told him, I said, look, I'm gonna save this
- 9:22Speaker 4: for tomorrow. I'm not going to look this up. I said,
- 9:24Speaker 4: don't do it either. Listen to the show and we'll
- 9:26Speaker 4: find out. We have the smartest listeners out there, and
- 9:29Speaker 4: these guys will certainly find that out. If in Florida,
- 9:32Speaker 4: do you have to have a degree to be a
- 9:33Speaker 4: lawyer or could you just go and self educate at
- 9:37Speaker 4: libraries or online and still practice law legally? I don't
- 9:40Speaker 4: know who would I don't know who would you hire
- 9:42Speaker 4: somebody that did that? Would you hire a lawyer that
- 9:45Speaker 4: did not have a degree, but yet maybe had a
- 9:47Speaker 4: glowing record, but did not go to law school, they
- 9:49Speaker 4: just got their degree on their.
- 9:50Speaker 3: Own, isn't it?
- 9:51Speaker 2: Would that be more difficult?
- 9:52Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 9:53Speaker 3: I think it shows a go get her attitude. Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 10: Yeah, I think there's a tenacity involved and throuble this
- 10:01Speaker 10: I respect.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and you've got to be smart. I mean, obviously
- 10:04Speaker 2: you have to be able to retain this stuff. You
- 10:05Speaker 2: have to be able to apply it in real time.
- 10:07Speaker 2: And I think there you said they had a good record. Yeah,
- 10:11Speaker 2: I would just assume they had a good record, right,
- 10:12Speaker 2: I would think that would really speak for itself. But still, though,
- 10:16Speaker 2: you walk into a lawyer's office and uh, you don't
- 10:18Speaker 2: see any of the stereotypical degrees that are hanging up there,
- 10:22Speaker 2: and you, rather in general conversation you ask, hey, I
- 10:24Speaker 2: don't see your degree, and you Usually lawyers are super
- 10:27Speaker 2: proud of their of their degrees and whatnot. Where's your degree?
- 10:29Speaker 2: He is not a good one, dude. I just went
- 10:30Speaker 2: online and figured it out and they took the bar
- 10:32Speaker 2: and passed it. Uh, you ready to go forward with
- 10:35Speaker 2: your case? Man? I good will hunting.
- 10:38Speaker 10: You know what I prefer to see on the wall,
- 10:40Speaker 10: like like a nice, wistful Thomas Kincaid painting.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Would you really be the painter of light? Yes?
- 10:47Speaker 2: I mean those things are beautiful. I think you're probably
- 10:49Speaker 2: not gonna find one of those in the lawyer's office
- 10:51Speaker 2: of all the places.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Ain't no way I would trust the lawyer. They'd be like, yeah,
- 10:55Speaker 4: I'm really good at it. So I just skipped the
- 10:56Speaker 4: school part.
- 10:57Speaker 2: I don't know, man, really, I mean, we've seen apples
- 11:00Speaker 2: do that and be the best out there.
- 11:02Speaker 3: That's athletes are the different.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm very different. That's the most black and white
- 11:08Speaker 4: like competition and form of communication.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I think.
- 11:13Speaker 4: I'm bringing up the fact that there's numbers you can
- 11:15Speaker 4: tell when a person wins a race. Yeah, that England
- 11:18Speaker 4: match and even that how I worded that sounded bad?
- 11:22Speaker 3: All right?
- 11:22Speaker 2: Four oh seven nine four one texts seven seven zero three.
- 11:25Speaker 2: When we got a couple of really interesting, like perfect
- 11:28Speaker 2: question topics you get to today, plus a bunch of
- 11:30Speaker 2: other stuff as well. Dev got some news.
- 11:32Speaker 9: Yeah, President Trump canceled strikes on Iran closer to Home,
- 11:36Speaker 9: a lawsuit demands a wording change to the property tax measure,
- 11:40Speaker 9: and at least one hotel employee has that FIFA fever.
- 11:44Speaker 3: We'll talk about that and more coming up next during
- 11:47Speaker 3: JCS news.
- 11:47Speaker 2: You got me, let's take a little break. We'll come
- 11:49Speaker 2: back and get Deb's news and do more than Jim
- 11:50Speaker 2: Colbert shows day right.
- 11:51Speaker 5: There, going to a lawyer that doesn't have a law
- 11:57Speaker 5: degree but did pass the bar. Isn't that about the
- 12:01Speaker 5: same as the pilot that didn't have the right pilot's license,
- 12:05Speaker 5: but flew for seventeen.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Years, That's what I'm saying.
- 12:08Speaker 5: And had a good safety record.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yes, my textentent said, you can't even sit for the
- 12:14Speaker 2: bar in Florida if you don't have a law degree.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Yeah, so in Florida you need it.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and a lot of other things. Yeah. Seriously
- 12:23Speaker 2: four O seven nine four one. You can always text
- 12:26Speaker 2: us at seven seven zero three one. If you'd like
- 12:27Speaker 2: to send a talk back like our friend, it's easy.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Grab the iHeartRadio app, get a real radio and use
- 12:32Speaker 2: that Mike to send your comment over to Jack and
- 12:33Speaker 2: we'll get you on the air.
- 12:34Speaker 3: I'm Jim. There's Dad, Hello, Jo and Ross with us
- 12:37Speaker 3: today as well.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Happy World Cup Day. You got it, man. Let's get
- 12:40Speaker 2: some news.
- 12:40Speaker 3: Here's deb.
- 12:44Speaker 1: It's time for JCS news.
- 12:48Speaker 8: Wow. This guy kind of put his.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Name on everything semi contracted.
- 12:51Speaker 8: Here's the news on the Jim Colber Show.
- 12:54Speaker 9: And as always, JCS News is brought to you by
- 12:57Speaker 9: that mortgage guy Don. President Trump is canceling new strikes
- 13:01Speaker 9: on Iran. In a truth social post this afternoon, the
- 13:04Speaker 9: President said his decision is based on the fact that
- 13:07Speaker 9: discussions with Iran quote have been brought to the highest
- 13:10Speaker 9: level of Iranian leadership and approved.
- 13:12Speaker 3: End quote.
- 13:13Speaker 9: He went on to say that quote final points have
- 13:16Speaker 9: been in both concept and great detail, approved by all
- 13:19Speaker 9: parties involved. End quote. This comes after the US and
- 13:23Speaker 9: Iran have traded strikes throughout the week. Earlier today, Trump
- 13:26Speaker 9: vowed to hit Iran quote very hard tonight end quote,
- 13:30Speaker 9: while also threatening to take over Iran's oil infrastructure.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Point. I've also made that threat before.
- 13:35Speaker 2: I bet you have. See that's just like that you
- 13:37Speaker 2: canceled them. That's good news, But who knows. By seven
- 13:41Speaker 2: o'clock exactly, Let's see what the markets doings are way up,
- 13:47Speaker 2: so let's go all right.
- 13:48Speaker 9: In the meantime, A lockdown is over at the Pentagon
- 13:51Speaker 9: after a reported hazardous materials incident. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell
- 13:56Speaker 9: said normal operations have resumed. Nothing to see here. Testing
- 14:00Speaker 9: confirmed no hazard existed. Earlier, Parnell confirmed that systems within
- 14:04Speaker 9: the Pentagon quote detected an air quality issue, necessitating precautionary
- 14:09Speaker 9: measures until we determine its significance.
- 14:12Speaker 3: End quote.
- 14:12Speaker 9: He said the Department executed standard protection protocols.
- 14:16Speaker 3: As a result.
- 14:17Speaker 9: Some areas of the Pentagon were evacuated due to the
- 14:19Speaker 9: incidents all right.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Back here closer to home.
- 14:22Speaker 9: A decision by the Florida Supreme Court will have repercussions
- 14:26Speaker 9: in November. The court announced yesterday it will not weigh
- 14:30Speaker 9: in on the redistricting debate as long as a lower
- 14:33Speaker 9: court is considering an appeal. That means the map lawmakers
- 14:37Speaker 9: approved and Governor Ron De Santis signed will be in
- 14:40Speaker 9: effect in the midterms this fall. Speaking of voting, a
- 14:45Speaker 9: complaint file today demands the wording of the property tax
- 14:49Speaker 9: referendum on November's ballot be changed. Weston City Attorney Jamie
- 14:54Speaker 9: Cole says the title of the measure, save Our Homes
- 14:57Speaker 9: from Excessive Property Taxes, as the slogan.
- 15:01Speaker 11: So when you look at it as a whole, the
- 15:02Speaker 11: ballot title in about summary, it is basically a campaign slogan,
- 15:07Speaker 11: a campaign flyer.
- 15:08Speaker 2: It's inaccurate and it's misleading.
- 15:11Speaker 9: Cole says the measure falsely claims that it will benefit
- 15:14Speaker 9: Florida taxpayers, protect course services, and small businesses. According to him,
- 15:20Speaker 9: it does the opposite.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I can tell you what it is and which is
- 15:23Speaker 4: a good microphone.
- 15:26Speaker 10: This has been a hot topic. I know we talked
- 15:29Speaker 10: about it a lot past couple of days I was
- 15:32Speaker 10: on I went, I went to social media last night,
- 15:35Speaker 10: Oh no, I did, okay, you you mentioned winter springs.
- 15:39Speaker 10: So I read not only the mayor's post and then
- 15:42Speaker 10: the thread just how many people are are just engaged
- 15:46Speaker 10: on this topic. And then I was talking to mortgage
- 15:50Speaker 10: people today and I just a lot of people with
- 15:52Speaker 10: the city today.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, a lot of Megan Slade is gonna
- 15:57Speaker 2: be with us next Wednesday. She's Ovido's. We'll find out
- 16:00Speaker 2: what she has to say, because their city is getting
- 16:02Speaker 2: hit pretty good with it.
- 16:03Speaker 9: I mean even production companies. You know, when you think
- 16:05Speaker 9: of all the people that provide staging and sound systems,
- 16:09Speaker 9: and all of these vendors that come out to this
- 16:12Speaker 9: will have serious ripple effects with all of the things
- 16:15Speaker 9: that cities do and the other vendors that they have
- 16:18Speaker 9: to work with to execute things, those businesses are going
- 16:21Speaker 9: to be severely impacted as well.
- 16:23Speaker 2: The main takeaway that I'm getting from the people who
- 16:27Speaker 2: whether they're either concerned or on the they're on the
- 16:30Speaker 2: fence or they're against it, is show us where the
- 16:34Speaker 2: replacement money will come from exactly. You know, don't just
- 16:37Speaker 2: say oh, we got you Tallahassee will take care, just
- 16:41Speaker 2: show us how are they going to cover these budget shortfalls.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I pose that question to a couple of people texting
- 16:47Speaker 2: yesterday and they both or they both answered, that's above
- 16:51Speaker 2: my pay grade. You're willing to make the argument one way,
- 16:54Speaker 2: but not willing to accept or even listen to an
- 16:56Speaker 2: argument the other way. And look again, I'm on the fence.
- 16:58Speaker 2: And we'll talk to slayd late Wednesday after And if
- 17:02Speaker 2: you want to hear Art Woodruff, who's the mayor of
- 17:03Speaker 2: Sandford's interview, that's on our podcast now.
- 17:06Speaker 9: Also, something that we've talked about for several years doesn't
- 17:09Speaker 9: seem to be improving because a stark traffic warning four commuters.
- 17:14Speaker 9: A new national report says Florida holds how many out
- 17:18Speaker 9: of the twenty seven most dangerous metropolitan areas for pedestrians
- 17:22Speaker 9: in the country.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Thirty two.
- 17:26Speaker 2: See ross that number is greater twenty. I'll go twenty
- 17:31Speaker 2: of them, Okay. For years we've been the most dangerous
- 17:34Speaker 2: place to walk and ride a bicycle. You have we have?
- 17:37Speaker 3: All right? You say twenty out of twenty seven? Jack?
- 17:39Speaker 2: What say you? Okay?
- 17:41Speaker 3: I fear for my life when I ride.
- 17:43Speaker 9: However, yeah, I think about you every time there's a
- 17:45Speaker 9: cycling story.
- 17:46Speaker 10: Thank you, but why you're weird? Thank you, but by
- 17:52Speaker 10: your reaction. I'm gonna go little less.
- 17:53Speaker 9: I'm gonna go fifteen ross, I'll go five okay points ross,
- 17:58Speaker 9: it's actually nine. Okay, the twenty seven but still for
- 18:01Speaker 9: one state, right, Yeah. Miami Dade and Broward are listed
- 18:06Speaker 9: as a major hazard zone, while the Daytona Beach area
- 18:10Speaker 9: ranks worst in the nation. Well, you've got all those
- 18:15Speaker 9: beach goers, You've got a one A. You've got people
- 18:18Speaker 9: speeding on Ala on the.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Beach, the beach like every other weekend over there. Man,
- 18:24Speaker 2: it's ridiculous.
- 18:24Speaker 3: It's a good point again.
- 18:26Speaker 9: Experts blame high speed arterial roads and a severe lack
- 18:31Speaker 9: of safe pedestrian crosswalks. I mean it was really, to
- 18:34Speaker 9: be honest, it was only recently I learned that according
- 18:37Speaker 9: to the law, it's not when a pedestrian is in
- 18:40Speaker 9: the crosswalk you're supposed to stop. It's when they're on
- 18:43Speaker 9: the sidewalk waiting to cross. That is the law. I
- 18:47Speaker 9: think a lot of drivers assume, like I did, they
- 18:50Speaker 9: have to actively be in the process of crossing the
- 18:52Speaker 9: road for you to have to slow down and stop
- 18:54Speaker 9: for them, and that's when you get popped by law enforcement.
- 18:57Speaker 10: I had a the white light that says I could
- 19:00Speaker 10: cross for thirty four on my bike. I just started
- 19:03Speaker 10: and a car came blow it. They ran that red light.
- 19:06Speaker 10: But if I was ten feet ahead when it took
- 19:09Speaker 10: me out, Yeah, I mean they didn't even slow for
- 19:11Speaker 10: that run. And Jim's pissed that he missed. Sold my
- 19:16Speaker 10: motorcycle because of traffic in the city. Yeah, like I
- 19:18Speaker 10: stopped riding. My wife wouldn't ride with me anymore, and
- 19:20Speaker 10: like I loved riding with my wife. So after she
- 19:22Speaker 10: said I can't ride on the bike anymore because I'm
- 19:24Speaker 10: absolutely horrified we're gonna get hit by somebody not paying intention,
- 19:27Speaker 10: I just sold it. I was like, well, you're right,
- 19:28Speaker 10: it sucks. I already had three indies to begin with.
- 19:31Speaker 9: Well, I already told you I used to have a
- 19:33Speaker 9: Nashiki that I was trying to race, and of course
- 19:36Speaker 9: I had the toe clips and then wrote it a
- 19:39Speaker 9: few times on Kirkman and was like, yeah, no, we're
- 19:41Speaker 9: going to get rid of this here racing bike because
- 19:43Speaker 9: I'm not doing toe clips.
- 19:44Speaker 3: On Kirkman, you should have just driven it on the
- 19:46Speaker 3: race track.
- 19:48Speaker 4: I feel you, guys, Razor Scooter. I had a wheelie
- 19:50Speaker 4: bar and that thing could get to you. Okay, so
- 19:54Speaker 4: I also had to retire my hog Days.
- 19:57Speaker 9: The city of Orlando has removed the iconic nightclub sign
- 20:01Speaker 9: days before the ten year anniversary of the mass shooting,
- 20:03Speaker 9: which is tomorrow. Can you guys believe tomorrow? It's been
- 20:06Speaker 9: ten years already. Cruz began the multi day process of
- 20:10Speaker 9: removing the sign on Wednesday. It's part of their plan
- 20:13Speaker 9: to demo the site and build a permanent memorial dedicated
- 20:16Speaker 9: to the victims and survivors of the June twelfth, twenty
- 20:19Speaker 9: sixteen massacre. The project is expected to be complete by
- 20:24Speaker 9: the fall of twenty twenty seven. All right, this next story, Jess.
- 20:28Speaker 9: When you thought this unsavory story couldn't get any worse,
- 20:32Speaker 9: here we go. A Seminal County teenager is facing child
- 20:36Speaker 9: porn charges. The charges against Eltamont Springs's fifteen year old
- 20:41Speaker 9: Isabelle Valdez come as she's already in jail for allegedly
- 20:45Speaker 9: plotting to killy classmate at Lake Brentley High School five
- 20:49Speaker 9: months ago.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Cho was one half of that du of this Yes, right, yeah.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Yes.
- 20:52Speaker 9: The other one, yep, is the fourteen year old thrill
- 20:55Speaker 9: and they were recorded in the back of the patrol
- 20:57Speaker 9: car joking about not having makeup on and what they're
- 21:00Speaker 9: mugshot's going to look like.
- 21:01Speaker 2: You know.
- 21:01Speaker 9: The worst part about this story that I heard today
- 21:05Speaker 9: on Fox thirty five was the mother of the victim
- 21:08Speaker 9: talking about and this makes me feel bad because you
- 21:11Speaker 9: and I talk about our love for true crime all
- 21:13Speaker 9: the time.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yes, but apparently that's.
- 21:15Speaker 9: Becoming a real issue in schools today. The mother of
- 21:19Speaker 9: the victims said she sees it with her son's friends,
- 21:21Speaker 9: with these two girls, and it's almost like a cult
- 21:24Speaker 9: like mentality.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Again.
- 21:26Speaker 9: These girls, their plot was to kill a classmate who
- 21:29Speaker 9: looked like the shooter at Sandy Hook.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Right yeah, yeah, because they were they were obsessed with him.
- 21:33Speaker 9: They were obsessed with him, and they talked about how
- 21:35Speaker 9: the true crime community was going to treat their crime.
- 21:38Speaker 9: And so anyway, I knew we could bring it back
- 21:43Speaker 9: to you guys being the reason for this.
- 21:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:45Speaker 9: No, but I mean as a dot, as adults, you
- 21:48Speaker 9: have to be like, I'm not a I don't have kids,
- 21:51Speaker 9: and your kids are grown, so it's it kind of makeshows,
- 21:55Speaker 9: but they're grown. They're not fourteen and fifteen years old.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Years and years.
- 22:01Speaker 10: True Crime has been one of the most popular podcasts
- 22:05Speaker 10: for without a doubt.
- 22:06Speaker 2: I mean, you could make the argument that that like
- 22:08Speaker 2: kind of kickstarted podcast into that next world.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I mean some of the other popular ones. I mean,
- 22:12Speaker 3: there's so many of them that this show.
- 22:14Speaker 9: Yeah, absolutely well, out of the ten new charges she's
- 22:18Speaker 9: now facing, this fifteen year old girl's probably never going
- 22:20Speaker 9: to get out of prison for the rest of her life.
- 22:22Speaker 9: The FDL says, yeah, I'm gonna just skip that part.
- 22:25Speaker 9: I Meanwhile, state law enforcement officials, including the state attorney
- 22:29Speaker 9: General and the head of FDL, joined a news conference
- 22:31Speaker 9: in o'kella to announce arrests and the latest child sex
- 22:35Speaker 9: predators sting there. Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods says one suspect,
- 22:40Speaker 9: twenty six year old Patrick Hahn, tried to meet someone
- 22:43Speaker 9: he thought was a fourteen year old girl in a
- 22:46Speaker 9: store bathroom.
- 22:47Speaker 3: Let's just say it. It didn't work out well for him.
- 22:50Speaker 11: Now, when my deputy showed up, he literally crapped in
- 22:54Speaker 11: his pants.
- 22:55Speaker 4: Oh scared him to dith.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Can we scarry something? Can we say for sure that
- 23:04Speaker 2: Florida is the king of news clips. There is no
- 23:10Speaker 2: state that even comes close when it comes to news.
- 23:14Speaker 3: There was that Arizona.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Yeah, ye air Paya, I got that guy's been gone
- 23:19Speaker 2: for a while. We got like five heavy hitters in
- 23:22Speaker 2: the state.
- 23:23Speaker 4: It's like the Florida Sheriffs just was like, we'll take
- 23:27Speaker 4: what ACNE is doing.
- 23:29Speaker 3: We'll get this, you guys.
- 23:30Speaker 9: The fifty eight suspects arrested during the six day sting
- 23:34Speaker 9: include a Navy officer, a second grade teacher, a Pop
- 23:38Speaker 9: Warner football coach, an elementary school teacher, and even a student.
- 23:44Speaker 9: Dan I don't detectives posed as children age seven to
- 23:48Speaker 9: fifteen to their parents again, you know, to think like
- 23:52Speaker 9: a predator. That's why they become That's why they joined
- 23:55Speaker 9: these professions, become teachers, pediatricians, coaches, because it gives them
- 24:00Speaker 9: access to their drug the What the sad part is,
- 24:06Speaker 9: I know how successful it must be for them online. Yes,
- 24:12Speaker 9: considering how successful the bus are, you would think if
- 24:16Speaker 9: that was you were going to do that. I think, oh,
- 24:18Speaker 9: it's going to be a cop and you wouldn't do that.
- 24:21Speaker 9: But time, that's why I say that too.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Free time when you talk about the recidivism rate of
- 24:26Speaker 2: child you know, of child predators. You know, it's near
- 24:29Speaker 2: one hundred percent. I think it's in the in the
- 24:31Speaker 2: high nineties. And one of the reasons I always find
- 24:33Speaker 2: these things amazing is it's not like there's a shortage
- 24:35Speaker 2: of information that chances are you're talking to a cop
- 24:38Speaker 2: and they still can't do it. They still the urge
- 24:40Speaker 2: is so great that they still can't fight the urge
- 24:43Speaker 2: to possibly spend jail time as a chow mo, which
- 24:46Speaker 2: is the language I guess they used for them, almost
- 24:48Speaker 2: guaranteed a life of complete hell, and they can't. They
- 24:52Speaker 2: can't stop themselves. But even with all of that on
- 24:54Speaker 2: the table, they still go through with it.
- 24:55Speaker 9: But that's also why parents need to be, you know,
- 24:59Speaker 9: aware and just maybe have a little bit of a
- 25:01Speaker 9: jaundiced eye around any adult that's around your child, because
- 25:04Speaker 9: you can't assume they went into that profession because they're
- 25:07Speaker 9: quote unquote good people.
- 25:08Speaker 4: I remember, Star, I remember so many people telling me,
- 25:11Speaker 4: like Ross before, after you have a kid, movies are
- 25:13Speaker 4: going to be different. You know what I have found
- 25:15Speaker 4: out to be even more different than anything else is
- 25:18Speaker 4: news stories.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just like hearing change.
- 25:21Speaker 9: News stories because you guys are parents. I took a
- 25:24Speaker 9: line out of the previous story because I'm like, no,
- 25:26Speaker 9: I'm not gonna read I'm not gonna tell that too.
- 25:29Speaker 10: And that's good because not only are we parents, but
- 25:31Speaker 10: thousands of people listening right now. And you're right, it's
- 25:34Speaker 10: those stories like that, like just movies where kids get hurt.
- 25:38Speaker 2: It just it's something that I just can't watch any
- 25:41Speaker 2: of the course your parent, that's Sanley Tucci movie. Nope,
- 25:46Speaker 2: The Lovely Bones.
- 25:47Speaker 9: Oh yeah, yeah, try reading the book.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Try reading the book.
- 25:52Speaker 2: I get what's with You're a bad example?
- 25:55Speaker 3: No, I mean if you think that's bad, dude. And
- 25:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you what not just the regular book,
- 25:59Speaker 3: the illustrated to version.
- 26:02Speaker 2: And she told Jim to read the book, don't read
- 26:05Speaker 2: the color version.
- 26:06Speaker 4: I'm not going to closs over the fact that Dev
- 26:09Speaker 4: just goes yeah reading the book.
- 26:10Speaker 9: Yeah, Well I didn't know what to expect. Oh yeah,
- 26:13Speaker 9: because yeah, I don't know what you expect.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Awful.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I've never been.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Able to see the movie, like the fifth time I
- 26:18Speaker 3: saw it, all right.
- 26:22Speaker 9: Florida remains largely in drought, but conditions are improving slightly
- 26:26Speaker 9: in some areas. The US Drought Monitor map shows the
- 26:29Speaker 9: highest levels dropping from about fifty three percent of the
- 26:32Speaker 9: state to around thirty one percent.
- 26:34Speaker 3: That's a nice drop.
- 26:35Speaker 9: The worst category, known as exceptional drought, has also shrunk significantly. However,
- 26:39Speaker 9: areas of severe drought have expanded to nearly forty percent
- 26:43Speaker 9: of the state as dry conditions persists. But Noah, forecasters
- 26:46Speaker 9: are issuing and El Nino advisory, saying thresholds had been
- 26:51Speaker 9: met for equatorial Pacific sea surface temperatures.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Good job on that. Oh my god, you should get
- 27:01Speaker 2: dizzy tickets for that.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I should have gotten a dong for that.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Mark that.
- 27:13Speaker 9: Sorry, and those warmer waters shifting towards South America. National
- 27:18Speaker 9: Weather Service Miami meteorologist Chuck Caracosa says for Florida that
- 27:23Speaker 9: means more than just fewer hurricanes.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Heading into the winter months.
- 27:27Speaker 2: It typically associates with a more wetter pattern with higher
- 27:31Speaker 2: chances of sphere thunderstorms stronger thunderstorms.
- 27:34Speaker 8: During that time.
- 27:35Speaker 9: So chances are also more than sixty percent likely that
- 27:39Speaker 9: a very strong or what they call super El Nino
- 27:42Speaker 9: could form, which could lead to dangerously high temperatures, like
- 27:45Speaker 9: in twenty twenty four when the record was smashed for
- 27:49Speaker 9: the world's highest average temperature, and unfortunately, while it drops
- 27:53Speaker 9: the chances for our Atlantic hurricane season, it ups the
- 27:56Speaker 9: chances for the Pacific.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, we're talking to Noah today from Fox
- 28:01Speaker 2: thirty five to explain exactly how that may affect our
- 28:03Speaker 2: weather over the summer. Well, he's our Noah Weather.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Yeah, good one, Yeah, good one.
- 28:10Speaker 8: All right.
- 28:10Speaker 9: New state records released just this morning show a massive
- 28:14Speaker 9: spike in alligator removals at Florida's biggest theme park. Data
- 28:18Speaker 9: from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission reveals that trappers
- 28:21Speaker 9: have pulled four hundred and fourteen nus since alligators from
- 28:26Speaker 9: Walt disney World property over the last ten years. I
- 28:30Speaker 9: saw that number today and I'm like, damn, well, that's
- 28:32Speaker 9: ever since that little three year old boy. I mean,
- 28:34Speaker 9: you guys, remember this weekend ten years ago was one
- 28:36Speaker 9: of the worst weekends in all of central Florida.
- 28:38Speaker 3: You had Christina Grimmy.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that ten year anniversary was yeah, yeah, exactly, and
- 28:44Speaker 2: then you have the Pulse night club shooting.
- 28:46Speaker 9: And then that Sunday, the little boy was snatched out
- 28:49Speaker 9: of the water at one of the Disney resorts.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Right, Yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 9: So the aggressive safety program again was launched following the
- 28:54Speaker 9: tragic death of that toddler at the resort back in
- 28:56Speaker 9: twenty sixteen, and state officials say the ongoing alligator sweeps
- 29:01Speaker 9: are necessary to protect the millions of tourists flooding into
- 29:04Speaker 9: Central Florida every summer. And you even see it out
- 29:07Speaker 9: on the springs and stuff. People just treat the natural
- 29:10Speaker 9: world like it is a theme park. And if you're
- 29:11Speaker 9: at a theme park, you might think it's an animatronic.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 4: I'll never forget that. When Disney they pulled the like
- 29:19Speaker 4: the the not the Robin Hood but hangs out with Tinkerbell,
- 29:24Speaker 4: Peter Peter Pan alligator crocodile, right, there was like a
- 29:28Speaker 4: meet and greet for that character, and then after that happened,
- 29:31Speaker 4: they pulled that performer.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Even at the end of that ride, isn't he straddling
- 29:37Speaker 2: the giant crocodiles?
- 29:39Speaker 12: Yeah?
- 29:39Speaker 2: Oh that's right, that's right. How many did they pull out?
- 29:43Speaker 3: Four and fourteen over the last ten years?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Where did they go that?
- 29:50Speaker 3: Yeah? Okay, real quick.
- 29:54Speaker 9: Extra eyes are on the World Cup host city Miami
- 29:57Speaker 9: as the soccer tournament officially kicks off this set afternoon
- 30:00Speaker 9: Miami Beach Police Chief Wayne Jones says security is a
- 30:03Speaker 9: top priority with the official kickoff watch party in Carlos
- 30:07Speaker 9: Vives concert at Miami Beach's Loomis Park that got kicked
- 30:10Speaker 9: off at two.
- 30:11Speaker 3: But listen to this security.
- 30:13Speaker 13: We have a state of the art real time intelligence
- 30:15Speaker 13: center well and so from the moment a person comes
- 30:18Speaker 13: across one of our bridges causeways into the city, we
- 30:22Speaker 13: will see what you do.
- 30:24Speaker 3: So make it worth their looking.
- 30:25Speaker 9: FIFA Fan Festival opens on Saturday at downtown Miami's Bayfront Park.
- 30:29Speaker 9: It's expected to draw up about thirty thousand people a day.
- 30:33Speaker 9: Drew July fifth, and then finally, a security guard in
- 30:36Speaker 9: Miami Beach is facing felony burglary charges. Police have arrested
- 30:41Speaker 9: thirty three year old Carlos Mendoza, a Grand Beach hotel guard,
- 30:44Speaker 9: after surveillance footage showed him allegedly using a master key
- 30:48Speaker 9: to break into a guest room. You can imagine, right,
- 30:50Speaker 9: so many international travelers, so much money. But he didn't
- 30:54Speaker 9: take cash or jewelry. What do you think he took food?
- 30:58Speaker 3: No underwear, no oh Jesus condoms, no pictures. I'm disappointed
- 31:04Speaker 3: in you.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Ross. Yeah, me too.
- 31:06Speaker 9: Why because he's stole an official FIFA referee uniform belonging
- 31:12Speaker 9: to a soccer official visiting South Florida. The uniform uniform
- 31:16Speaker 9: has since been returned.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Wow, that'd be kind of dangerous, right, using your uniform
- 31:20Speaker 2: to get on the field and do something stupid. I
- 31:22Speaker 2: thought he was, Yeah, he's going to fill in for
- 31:24Speaker 2: that one official that they wouldn't let it exactly exactly
- 31:28Speaker 2: they got this.
- 31:28Speaker 4: Did you see that that official, that referee, the Somalian
- 31:32Speaker 4: referee goes back to Somalia and he's like given a
- 31:35Speaker 4: heroes welcome.
- 31:36Speaker 9: Yeah, well yeah, I mean we're here for you.
- 31:41Speaker 4: You know what's funny is that even if you got
- 31:43Speaker 4: the you know, you still reffing. People hate refs.
- 31:46Speaker 3: It doesn't matter where you are. So like that whole
- 31:48Speaker 3: story is a paradox, and that concludes your JCS news.
- 31:55Speaker 2: All right, four seven text us at seven to seven
- 31:59Speaker 2: zero one back in one second with more of the
- 32:01Speaker 2: Jim Colbert Show.
- 32:04Speaker 14: Not being able to take the bar exam without a
- 32:06Speaker 14: lot of degree sounds like a rule that was made
- 32:08Speaker 14: up by a bunch of people that's spent their entire
- 32:10Speaker 14: lives planning for and then paying for in formal education
- 32:14Speaker 14: that they don't want to get boat raced by some
- 32:15Speaker 14: guy who just got fed up the way one day,
- 32:18Speaker 14: took the bar exam to fight them. Yeah, also to
- 32:21Speaker 14: send and try again. Button on talkbacks need to be separated.
- 32:26Speaker 2: I guess. I hope you guys are doing well.
- 32:28Speaker 15: You guys are talking about lawyers and having a law
- 32:30Speaker 15: degrees and stuff like that.
- 32:32Speaker 3: I hear this.
- 32:32Speaker 15: Attorney on Glenn Klausman's section of the radio. He's a
- 32:38Speaker 15: Southern gentleman and he sounds pretty good. I'd use him
- 32:41Speaker 15: as in my attorney. Thanks by.
- 32:45Speaker 4: I've never been accredited by any official literally anything exact.
- 32:51Speaker 3: Got a degree alundromat, but he'll be here later today.
- 32:55Speaker 2: The only degree that I have is deodering.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. I'm Jim.
- 33:00Speaker 2: There's deb Hello Jack, Yeah, and faticus smelling nos stanky.
- 33:04Speaker 3: Faticus over there for.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Sure, smelling nots not spanky. Saw a piece of day
- 33:08Speaker 2: I thought was kind of interesting, and it was an
- 33:10Speaker 2: argument because, uh, you know, restaurant prices are high. People
- 33:13Speaker 2: are kind of you know, complaining things are expensive, very expensive.
- 33:16Speaker 4: So the article was on in all caps. Yeah, it was.
- 33:21Speaker 2: It was a debate in this because the debate was,
- 33:25Speaker 2: you know, there's something, there's an under there's an underlying
- 33:28Speaker 2: issue here that people aren't considering. He says, Look, I've
- 33:31Speaker 2: been an analyst for restaurants for a while, you know,
- 33:33Speaker 2: trying to get those guys streamlined into making sure the
- 33:36Speaker 2: profit margins are good, making sure they're buying from the
- 33:38Speaker 2: right people, their vendors are good, uh, that their employees
- 33:41Speaker 2: are good, you know, just basically, you know, just making
- 33:44Speaker 2: their businesses more efficient through advice and analyzing the information
- 33:48Speaker 2: coming into the restaurant. He said. Look, of course, food
- 33:51Speaker 2: prices are definitely part of that. But there is another
- 33:53Speaker 2: reason why the restaurant business is really suffering right now.
- 33:56Speaker 2: I want to take a shot at what that may be.
- 34:00Speaker 3: It's not food prices, not food prices or anything like that.
- 34:02Speaker 2: According to this guy, why people are not going well,
- 34:05Speaker 2: why why restaurants aren't doing that?
- 34:07Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I'm gonna say no, man, I'm a workers
- 34:12Speaker 4: like like the they can't get people to do what
- 34:14Speaker 4: they want.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Staffing issues.
- 34:17Speaker 9: I'm gonna go a client tell I'm gonna say, oh, well,
- 34:21Speaker 9: we did talk earlier about the fact, right that gen
- 34:24Speaker 9: Z they're going to dinner earlier. They're like the early
- 34:28Speaker 9: bird special kids, and they don't drink when they go
- 34:31Speaker 9: and have dinner.
- 34:32Speaker 2: I think it's an uber each generation. It definitely is
- 34:34Speaker 2: an uber each generation. But even then the restaurant would
- 34:37Speaker 2: get the ticket right, they would st sell the food right.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Ozimpic oh GLP ones they He says that if you
- 34:44Speaker 2: look at the aniles, even the regulars that come in,
- 34:48Speaker 2: when you consider like one in six people or one
- 34:51Speaker 2: inno or five out of or six out of ten
- 34:53Speaker 2: people in the US are using some form of GLP
- 34:56Speaker 2: one to lose weight, that even if the regulars come
- 34:59Speaker 2: in in their check tab is twenty to thirty percent
- 35:03Speaker 2: cheaper than it was when they were when they were
- 35:05Speaker 2: not taking golp ones. So even though those people are
- 35:09Speaker 2: still going to the restaurants, they're not buying as much,
- 35:11Speaker 2: they're not eating as much. They're sharing plates, they're sharing
- 35:16Speaker 2: an appetizer, they're not getting the big steak anymore. They're
- 35:18Speaker 2: buying the smaller portioned dishes. And and when you consider
- 35:23Speaker 2: the volume of people that are on these golp ones,
- 35:26Speaker 2: you could certainly see that would be the case. You
- 35:28Speaker 2: gotta adjust, right, Yeah, you gotta adjust. I guess this place.
- 35:32Speaker 9: I was going to say, yeah, you go with smaller bites,
- 35:35Speaker 9: maybe higher quality ingredients, with a little bit of a
- 35:38Speaker 9: bigger price.
- 35:39Speaker 10: Ross used to do his normalized normalized sharing entrees or
- 35:43Speaker 10: something that you do that, don't you.
- 35:45Speaker 2: That's what we do now actually, because both of us
- 35:47Speaker 2: don't eat as much as we used to. So when
- 35:48Speaker 2: we get restaurants, we will usually get an appetizer that
- 35:51Speaker 2: we enjoy and.
- 35:52Speaker 9: That happens with H right, doesn't really.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I guess I'm in the same damn boat man, and
- 35:58Speaker 2: we share the on t and then we get a dessert,
- 36:01Speaker 2: so we wind up saving ourselves usually twenty five to
- 36:04Speaker 2: forty dollars whatever it is, based on the entree would
- 36:07Speaker 2: be buying. Are you so you're not on a You're not.
- 36:09Speaker 3: I'm not on a GOLP one?
- 36:11Speaker 16: No?
- 36:11Speaker 3: No, no, you thought about it?
- 36:14Speaker 4: Is it?
- 36:14Speaker 3: Is it obvious? Is that you're on?
- 36:16Speaker 2: Is that the joke you're trying to get to that
- 36:18Speaker 2: I'm not on it while it's obvious? No, you look good.
- 36:21Speaker 2: I was just wondering if you were on now, I
- 36:22Speaker 2: wouldn't take one, though? Why not? I just don't. I
- 36:25Speaker 2: don't do stuff like that. Dude, I just don't do it.
- 36:27Speaker 2: I've never taken or been on years ago. Actually, let
- 36:30Speaker 2: me take that back. When we first started the show,
- 36:33Speaker 2: I took I was part of a weight loss thing
- 36:35Speaker 2: because it was a good client. I needed the money,
- 36:37Speaker 2: to be dead honest with you, and you know, it
- 36:39Speaker 2: did okay, but I wasn't really committed to it.
- 36:41Speaker 10: But you know, and I kind of felt the same
- 36:43Speaker 10: way you know, where it's like, okay, do I want
- 36:47Speaker 10: to take that to lose weight? And there was, for
- 36:50Speaker 10: lack of a better term, an icky feeling about it,
- 36:52Speaker 10: Like I was like, I don't know. I felt like
- 36:55Speaker 10: if I hadn't tried my best without it, right then,
- 36:59Speaker 10: is that kind of making a shortcut. But the benefits
- 37:03Speaker 10: they are talking about between effects the side effects are
- 37:06Speaker 10: so positive that it might just be smart medication for
- 37:10Speaker 10: your overall health.
- 37:11Speaker 9: Well Maya Beliah Yes from Big Bang Theory Blossom as
- 37:17Speaker 9: well back in the day Blossom as well as Jeopardy stint.
- 37:19Speaker 9: She took it once and it blanked her up. And
- 37:22Speaker 9: it blanked her up. She said she had dehydration. She
- 37:25Speaker 9: had to have IV fluids. She took one dose and
- 37:29Speaker 9: she said she felt the effects immediately stopped taking the medication.
- 37:33Speaker 3: And that's my fear, Jack. My fear is that you.
- 37:35Speaker 9: End up being that one person that ends up with
- 37:38Speaker 9: like debilitating side effects. And it doesn't necessarily take that
- 37:42Speaker 9: long for that to happen.
- 37:43Speaker 13: You.
- 37:43Speaker 2: I've heard that you have to keep taking it, that
- 37:46Speaker 2: most of the way comes back. Most people who stopped
- 37:48Speaker 2: taking it revert right back to their old eating habits
- 37:50Speaker 2: and gain the weight right back.
- 37:51Speaker 10: I think they're working. I saw something about how they're
- 37:55Speaker 10: changing that. But also I learned another side effect that
- 37:58Speaker 10: for some people like a brain fog, but it changes
- 38:03Speaker 10: the things you have interest in. And this the the
- 38:07Speaker 10: person they were focusing on was a Cubs fan, lived
- 38:10Speaker 10: and died by the Cubs, and then when he was
- 38:12Speaker 10: on it and taking it really didn't it's air. It's
- 38:15Speaker 10: a loss of interest in general.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Because they said it all con factor down to sexic
- 38:19Speaker 2: in factor down the relationshiship.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Now I have put too much money into miniatures.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Factors into all these things. You just kind of lose
- 38:25Speaker 2: interest and stuff.
- 38:26Speaker 10: That said, they said, he adjusted his medication and that
- 38:30Speaker 10: interest came out very.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Nice, all right, So that's a pretty big side effect.
- 38:37Speaker 3: Not for every way.
- 38:37Speaker 2: I'm skinny, but I hate everything.
- 38:40Speaker 3: I'm just saying.
- 38:41Speaker 10: It's like, because I had to say feeling, I'm like,
- 38:43Speaker 10: is it cheatings? And if you take it, good for you?
- 38:46Speaker 10: If it works, that's wonderful because you are healthier today
- 38:49Speaker 10: because of it. However, you know, if there's other benefits
- 38:53Speaker 10: as well, maybe we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss.
- 38:56Speaker 9: And not only exactly, but then there's the other factors.
- 38:59Speaker 9: There's ozembic face.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Olympic face have you heard of? But Ozmpic butt, right?
- 39:06Speaker 9: You know where you lose so much weight so quickly
- 39:08Speaker 9: that you just have all the skin that hangs on
- 39:10Speaker 9: you because you're not losing weight naturally and your body
- 39:13Speaker 9: isn't getting that time to adjust.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Somebody you look like you got Starship Troopers, And the
- 39:17Speaker 4: funny thing is out you can't.
- 39:19Speaker 2: You wanted to get credit for losing weight the right
- 39:20Speaker 2: way because if you come up you lose little weight,
- 39:22Speaker 2: people are automatically.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Ask you which one is it?
- 39:24Speaker 10: What you mab or uzimpic or and then when they
- 39:27Speaker 10: say no, ex that he won't admit it.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Yeah exactly.
- 39:32Speaker 3: Four one text does it? Seven seven zero three one
- 39:34Speaker 3: For the.
- 39:35Speaker 10: Full list of side effects see r rat and golf
- 39:37Speaker 10: digest and your passion.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Chloe g up. Next, let's find out what's happening in.
- 39:44Speaker 12: Orlando, Ohana, Jenny couldn't agree with you more, bro no gop,
- 39:52Speaker 12: no stuff like that. You know, eat right, exercise gracefully,
- 39:58Speaker 12: growing years if you can. You know, I know there's
- 40:01Speaker 12: been a lot of overtime Keysan.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Ross calling you fat whoa.
- 40:07Speaker 12: You know I'm pointing this finger at myself too.
- 40:10Speaker 8: It ain't fat, broh.
- 40:11Speaker 3: We're just well fed. Yeah man, It's all there is
- 40:14Speaker 3: to it.
- 40:15Speaker 17: Looha.
- 40:16Speaker 3: I'm just extra healthy. As I used to say in
- 40:18Speaker 3: high school, I'm just big boned.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:20Speaker 7: Right.
- 40:21Speaker 4: If you look at somebody and go, are you an
- 40:23Speaker 4: oz epic? That is kind of a compliment.
- 40:25Speaker 2: Is it really all right?
- 40:26Speaker 3: Right good?
- 40:27Speaker 2: Somebody ever says it to me, I'll let him know.
- 40:29Speaker 2: All right, Welcome back with the Jim Coober Show. We're
- 40:31Speaker 2: all ready one oh four point one. I'm Jim, dev
- 40:33Speaker 2: Jack and Ross are here as well. Let's do some
- 40:35Speaker 2: Chloe utah.
- 40:36Speaker 1: If it's happening in central Florida, it's on her radar,
- 40:39Speaker 1: giving you a reason to get off the couch and
- 40:41Speaker 1: out of the house. It's time to find out what
- 40:43Speaker 1: there is to see with Chloe g from New Orleanis Weekly.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Yea that he feels so famous. This is the highlight
- 40:53Speaker 2: of your weekend. Nobody gets an introduction like that. How
- 40:56Speaker 2: you doing, Chloe?
- 40:56Speaker 4: Good to see it's pretty good.
- 40:57Speaker 18: I have a lot of fun stuff to go for
- 41:00Speaker 18: this week. I'm really excited. I am going to kick
- 41:04Speaker 18: us off with an event tonight. Actually, so getting an
- 41:06Speaker 18: early start.
- 41:07Speaker 4: On the weekend.
- 41:08Speaker 18: Comedian David Jolly is performing at the Funnybone Comedy Club tonight.
- 41:14Speaker 18: This is not the David Jolly running for governor for
- 41:17Speaker 18: Florida right now. He actually is also from Florida, the
- 41:21Speaker 18: comedian and he largely got his start performing in Orlando
- 41:25Speaker 18: comedy club, so this is kind of like a homecoming show.
- 41:28Speaker 18: He recently gained a pretty big following for the skits
- 41:31Speaker 18: that he does about kind of like exaggerated everyday workplace
- 41:34Speaker 18: situations and characters he throws in there has. He now
- 41:39Speaker 18: is relocated to Austin and touring nationally, but tonight's homecoming.
- 41:44Speaker 18: One of our writers at The Weekly actually interviewed him
- 41:47Speaker 18: ahead of his show, and he's clearly very in love
- 41:49Speaker 18: with Orlando's comedy scene and has a lot of passionate
- 41:52Speaker 18: for it. So I think that's gonna make for a
- 41:54Speaker 18: very big, very very great show. So that is tonight
- 41:58Speaker 18: at the Funnybone at seven pm and tickets start at
- 42:01Speaker 18: twenty seven dollars.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Very nice. Yeah, we talked today a little bit yesterday.
- 42:04Speaker 2: He's an old friend of ours. Yeah, a really good guy.
- 42:06Speaker 2: And yeah, go to the show tonight. He's awesome.
- 42:08Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 42:09Speaker 4: I've thrown up drunk behind a car with David Jolly
- 42:12Speaker 4: and U. He made me into a man.
- 42:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:14Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, so you know it's going to be
- 42:15Speaker 4: a good night.
- 42:16Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Yeah, it's sober now. By the way, I should clarify that.
- 42:20Speaker 4: He'll still be funny.
- 42:21Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 42:22Speaker 18: Also, today the World Cup kicked off, so or Leando
- 42:27Speaker 18: in its surrounding neighborhoods are going to be littered with
- 42:30Speaker 18: watch parties for the next few weeks. Some big ones
- 42:33Speaker 18: that I'm going to highlight right now are at Sports
- 42:36Speaker 18: and Social. This is one of the bars within Point
- 42:39Speaker 18: Orlando on Eye Drive. It's that big entertainment venue that
- 42:42Speaker 18: has a bunch of venues, bunch of arts inside of it.
- 42:45Speaker 18: They are going to be showing every single match from
- 42:48Speaker 18: now until July nineteenth, is what they're saying on the
- 42:51Speaker 18: screens that cover the walls inside. And then it's not
- 42:54Speaker 18: just going to be that the games are kind of
- 42:56Speaker 18: passively on. They're also going to do like a watch
- 42:58Speaker 18: party atmosphere for every single match.
- 43:01Speaker 4: There's gonna be.
- 43:02Speaker 18: Drink specials, giveaways, contests, and then they're doing a match
- 43:06Speaker 18: day warm up set of specials before every game starts
- 43:10Speaker 18: with really cheap drinks three dollars beers, five dollars cocktail.
- 43:13Speaker 18: Oh that sounds like a couple of dollars for a shot.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Oh my god, almighty. It's like if you're making a
- 43:18Speaker 2: drink and the drink is a fight.
- 43:20Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
- 43:21Speaker 18: And then they'll be food too, so you know, you
- 43:23Speaker 18: can like cushion yourself a little bit.
- 43:25Speaker 10: If you have a team you're rooting for watch parties.
- 43:28Speaker 10: Like I'm like, oh, I could just watch it at home,
- 43:30Speaker 10: but I was watching all of these clips of Nick's
- 43:33Speaker 10: watch parties man after that win, and it was just
- 43:38Speaker 10: like it's just the excitement level is.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Off, the really is.
- 43:42Speaker 2: I was lucky to go to one watch party back
- 43:44Speaker 2: in ninety four when it came around and it was
- 43:46Speaker 2: completely insane nine in the morning with a bunch of
- 43:48Speaker 2: England fans and it was a blast, it really was.
- 43:51Speaker 2: And I wasn't even really into soccer at all, but
- 43:53Speaker 2: that party was great.
- 43:54Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 43:54Speaker 18: No, the crowd in the atmosphere wherever you're watching definitely
- 43:58Speaker 18: makes it for sure. Another one I want to highlight
- 44:01Speaker 18: is at the Final Whistle at Thornton Park Pub. So
- 44:04Speaker 18: this is a soccer themed pop up bar that just
- 44:08Speaker 18: started earlier this year to kick off Orlando City season,
- 44:11Speaker 18: but they are extending it through the summer for the
- 44:14Speaker 18: World Cup. So they have matches playing on all the
- 44:16Speaker 18: screens inside with the sound on the whole bar is
- 44:20Speaker 18: decked out in Orlando City and Orlando Pride and some
- 44:23Speaker 18: other soccer team memorabilia. They have kits hanging from the ceiling,
- 44:26Speaker 18: there's banners everywhere. They're gonna do food and drink specials
- 44:31Speaker 18: all throughout the tournaments and that is happening in Thornton
- 44:36Speaker 18: Park pretty much every day through the nineteenth We also,
- 44:39Speaker 18: Orlando Weekly has a long list available of all the
- 44:42Speaker 18: other watch parties around town and beyond. Yeah, Orlando Weekly
- 44:47Speaker 18: dot Com. We got some in Sanford, like Marymunt Dora
- 44:50Speaker 18: a ton in the core of Orlando. Harpinkelt's a really
- 44:54Speaker 18: big one, Lucky luckper Con is a really big one.
- 44:57Speaker 4: A la carte.
- 44:57Speaker 18: They're all doing really big watch parties, events, specialty drinks
- 45:01Speaker 18: and food. It'll be a whole whole thing for the
- 45:03Speaker 18: whole month.
- 45:04Speaker 4: Very nice, very nice.
- 45:06Speaker 18: Even more drinking, all right, you seem very irritated with this,
- 45:13Speaker 18: sweet Chloe.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Just even more drinking.
- 45:17Speaker 18: Really, I'm really alcohol forward today.
- 45:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna alcohol forward.
- 45:21Speaker 2: I love that's She's like aod mom. Oh more drinking.
- 45:25Speaker 2: I think she just named the show today. It was
- 45:27Speaker 2: just exactly I'm feeling alcohol forward myself.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Just be safe, alright, what's your favorite drink? Real quick?
- 45:35Speaker 6: Oh?
- 45:35Speaker 4: Tequila soda?
- 45:36Speaker 2: Tequila and soda.
- 45:37Speaker 18: Yeah, alright, very nice and friends enough it starts to
- 45:41Speaker 18: taste like water.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Yeah, what's your go to tequila?
- 45:44Speaker 4: Espalone? Alright?
- 45:45Speaker 3: Alright, very nice, she knows.
- 45:48Speaker 18: So the Pride and Proud Pop Crawl is happening in
- 45:52Speaker 18: Thornton Park this week for Pride Month. So there will
- 45:56Speaker 18: be drag shows and hopping from bar to bar all
- 45:59Speaker 18: over the area. So Burtons, Cabos, the outposts, the dust.
- 46:04Speaker 18: Every bar crawler is going to get or going to
- 46:07Speaker 18: get four drink tickets and then there's gonna be a
- 46:10Speaker 18: big after party at the bar anthemb after the crawl
- 46:14Speaker 18: kind of wraps up. So that is on Saturday. It

- 48:24Speaker 2: Gonna ask your question, Ross, is that down Is that

- 48:43Speaker 2: Dude, that's a kill or little spot. I hear no
- 48:45Speaker 2: one ever talking about my buddy termed me on that joint.
- 48:48Speaker 2: And not only is it a cool spot, the food
- 48:50Speaker 2: there's bananas good.
- 48:51Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 48:51Speaker 18: I know they always get really excited for of course

- 49:32Speaker 18: able to eat ten hot dogs in five minutes with
- 49:35Speaker 18: or without the help of water.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Disgusting.

- 49:54Speaker 4: Yeah, something good.
- 49:55Speaker 10: Kloe, have you ever watched one of those before, those
- 49:58Speaker 10: competitive eating hot dogs, like the Coney Island thing?
- 50:00Speaker 2: They do?
- 50:02Speaker 15: How they do?
- 50:03Speaker 2: I literally cannot watch it?
- 50:05Speaker 3: Yeah, no, it'll make me. Do you think you can
- 50:07Speaker 3: eat ten hot dogs in five minutes?
- 50:09Speaker 4: Don't wait, I don't even want to think.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Do you think they're gonna five hot dogs in five minutes?
- 50:13Speaker 2: A hot dog a minute?
- 50:14Speaker 18: I don't think I could eat five hot dogs in
- 50:16Speaker 18: a day.
- 50:16Speaker 3: You don't think so? No, But I think I could
- 50:18Speaker 3: give up ten for a hot dog and a twisted
- 50:22Speaker 3: for sure.
- 50:25Speaker 18: And then the grand prize is going to be a
- 50:27Speaker 18: Twisted Tea branded cooler. And then the event itself is
- 50:30Speaker 18: benefiting the Bounty Food Pantry. So it's we're being wholesome

- 50:36Speaker 3: Very good.
- 50:38Speaker 18: Finally, my last event for you this weekend is going

- 51:46Speaker 19: what is the busiest time of year for you?
- 51:48Speaker 3: Is it holiday season? Like fall or is it spring?
- 51:51Speaker 18: Fall is busy because it's always so packed with events.
- 51:54Speaker 4: There's so much to do.
- 51:55Speaker 18: There's always those big concerts in Orlando are happening throughout
- 51:58Speaker 18: the fall. Also a lot of restaurant openings, big restaurant
- 52:01Speaker 18: openings in the fall summer though obviously because of Best Of.
- 52:05Speaker 18: And there's also always so much because the tourism people
- 52:08Speaker 18: are going to the theme pop. There's just more people
- 52:10Speaker 18: in Orlando, so there's more to report on.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Oh wow crazy. All right, Well we'll see you next

- 52:29Speaker 2: second we're going to talk to you. Noah Bergran He's
- 52:31Speaker 2: from FOC thty five, Orlando. We're gonna find out exactly
- 52:34Speaker 2: what the super El Nino is and how it's gonna
- 52:36Speaker 2: affect this summer. We'll do that next. Welcome back to
- 52:41Speaker 2: the jump Over Show, Roverdio one oh four point one.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Thanks for tuning in today. We appreciate that. Guys, hope
- 52:46Speaker 2: you're having a wonderful Thursday.
- 52:48Speaker 3: I am Jim. There's deb Hello, Jack, Yo and Ross.
- 52:52Speaker 8: Let's talk.
- 52:52Speaker 3: What if you look at the.
- 52:53Speaker 2: News all day today, all you're seeing is super El
- 52:56Speaker 2: Nino el Nino. How it's gonna affect us as a
- 53:01Speaker 2: as a people, and I'm kind of interested in that.
- 53:03Speaker 2: We went to the source. Noah Bergwan so jesus. Noah
- 53:08Speaker 2: Bergran is Spots thirty five, Orlando's weeknight senior meteorologists.
- 53:12Speaker 3: Give it up, good Ladburn, No, You're gonna get it.
- 53:17Speaker 3: Change that last name, dude. It's a toughy. You just
- 53:21Speaker 3: called me, Noah. Noah's good, yeah, very good.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Know how you do it?
- 53:26Speaker 5: Man?
- 53:26Speaker 3: How are you good?
- 53:27Speaker 13: Man?
- 53:27Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you the news is everywhere. I told
- 53:29Speaker 2: that when I got in today, I said, because she
- 53:31Speaker 2: brought up the El Nino news. I said, man, it
- 53:33Speaker 2: is everywhere, front page, everywhere today, and I don't know
- 53:37Speaker 2: that a lot of people know what it is.
- 53:38Speaker 3: I really don't know what it is.
- 53:39Speaker 2: I've experienced one a couple of years ago, and I
- 53:41Speaker 2: remember it being in la when it's supposed to be
- 53:43Speaker 2: seventy degrees and it was eighty eight degrees.
- 53:45Speaker 3: So how will this affect us?
- 53:49Speaker 11: You know? First of all, isn't it crazy that something
- 53:51Speaker 11: four thousand miles away impacts our weather?
- 53:54Speaker 16: Yeah?
- 53:54Speaker 11: Man, like you can't. You can't see this, you know.
- 53:56Speaker 11: I get emails from people and say, how the heck?
- 53:59Speaker 16: Why?
- 53:59Speaker 11: Why? First of all, why do I care that the
- 54:01Speaker 11: Pacific is hot? Like, you know, we live in Orlando,
- 54:03Speaker 11: like it's somewhere near us. I think the simplest way
- 54:06Speaker 11: of putting it, Jim, is just that when there's a
- 54:08Speaker 11: really big al Nino, there's very few hurricanes in hurricane season.
- 54:12Speaker 11: So for once, I get to be not the bearer
- 54:14Speaker 11: of doom and gloom in the news.
- 54:16Speaker 3: Yeah news, Yes, that's a rare Now there's always a
- 54:20Speaker 3: second side of that coin. What will it do for us?
- 54:22Speaker 2: Of course, if there's no hurricane season, I guess that
- 54:24Speaker 2: takes away a lot of the the humid air, the
- 54:27Speaker 2: warm humid air. Is that the deal or how does
- 54:29Speaker 2: it do that?
- 54:30Speaker 11: You are a smart man, because there is the other
- 54:33Speaker 11: side to that is that in winter, so it looks
- 54:36Speaker 11: like we're in an a nino. Now it's not strong yet.
- 54:39Speaker 11: So the intensity of al Nino or La nina, there's
- 54:42Speaker 11: there's the two things.
- 54:43Speaker 3: Al nino.
- 54:44Speaker 11: All that it is is that the water in the
- 54:45Speaker 11: Pacific is either hot or cold, and if it's hot,
- 54:48Speaker 11: it's al Nino. If it's cold, it's La Nina. Hurricane season.
- 54:51Speaker 11: Al Nino means few storms. La nina means a lot.
- 54:55Speaker 11: But if the al Nino holds into the next winter,
- 54:58Speaker 11: it would actually surprise you. And I know this might
- 55:01Speaker 11: catch me some flat because some people say, how can
- 55:02Speaker 11: you tell me the weather six months from now?
- 55:04Speaker 3: You can't even get tomorrow right.
- 55:06Speaker 11: But one of the most well understood, one of the
- 55:09Speaker 11: most well understood things with El Nino is actually not
- 55:11Speaker 11: hurricane season. It's actually Florida's winter and we get a
- 55:15Speaker 11: lot of rain and severe thunderstorms actually in November to
- 55:19Speaker 11: March when we're in El Nino's it only happens maybe
- 55:21Speaker 11: about every five to ten years. And actually a lot
- 55:25Speaker 11: of the big tornado outbreaks in central Florida around Orlando
- 55:28Speaker 11: and Kissimi in ninety eight, two thousand and seven.
- 55:31Speaker 3: Groundhog Day, they were all really big Alnina years.
- 55:34Speaker 11: So the side of the coin is, while we might
- 55:36Speaker 11: not get a hurricane, the upcoming winter will, unless it
- 55:39Speaker 11: goes away, likely be very wet in otherwise deep dry season.
- 55:43Speaker 9: Yeah, because Noah, I remember back in ninety eight, I
- 55:45Speaker 9: don't know if you guys remember trying to Christmas shop
- 55:48Speaker 9: when it was it seemed like one day louge after another.
- 55:52Speaker 9: Is that, Noah, what we could kind of maybe expect
- 55:55Speaker 9: this holiday season as well.
- 55:57Speaker 11: Yeah, definitely, definitely the winter. I mean, look, forecast can change.
- 56:02Speaker 11: I try to be an open and transparent meterologist. I'm
- 56:04Speaker 11: not going to hide from the fact that things are
- 56:05Speaker 11: wrong sometimes and change right. But it would be a
- 56:08Speaker 11: shock if the al Nina was not still in place
- 56:11Speaker 11: this winter. So and just if it's if it is,
- 56:14Speaker 11: there's going to be a lot of rain, and normally
- 56:17Speaker 11: we only average like five inches of rain the whole
- 56:18Speaker 11: winter in Orlando.
- 56:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:20Speaker 2: Yeah, in El Nino years, it's like double triple that. Yeah,
- 56:23Speaker 2: that tornado outbreak in ninety eight was absolutely awful. You
- 56:26Speaker 2: remember on the west side of town. It it actually
- 56:28Speaker 2: took some lives and uh completely destroyed an apartment complex.
- 56:32Speaker 3: It was gnarly.
- 56:33Speaker 2: So it's just going to rain all Christmas time. Dude,
- 56:36Speaker 2: that sucks. Well, it's not.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Him exists. I didn't mention anything about Christmas that.
- 56:48Speaker 2: I did.
- 56:50Speaker 3: No, no call in my stocking because of this.
- 56:52Speaker 11: No no.
- 56:53Speaker 10: So you mentioned, Okay, Eldino warmer temperatures in in the Pacific,
- 56:59Speaker 10: which means more moderate storm season for US. But I
- 57:02Speaker 10: thought warmer temperatures were worse for storms. Does that mean
- 57:06Speaker 10: like the Atlantic is inversely proportionate there where it's cooler
- 57:11Speaker 10: or why is it commer storms?
- 57:13Speaker 3: It doesn't mean the Actually is it more important than
- 57:14Speaker 3: the Gulf the golf seat, than the than the Atlantic
- 57:17Speaker 3: or no, both of you are correct both.
- 57:21Speaker 11: I would say, yes, it's actually less the water temperature
- 57:24Speaker 11: for the Atlantic when the Pacific is in al Nino.
- 57:27Speaker 11: More what the winds in the jet stream are doing. Gotcha,
- 57:29Speaker 11: because when you're when you're in in al Nino in
- 57:31Speaker 11: the Pacific, there's a lot of hurricanes. So Hawaii, Mexico
- 57:36Speaker 11: and it may come as a shock, but southern California,
- 57:38Speaker 11: if there were to get remnants of a hurricane, it
- 57:40Speaker 11: would be in a really strong Aninia year like this.
- 57:43Speaker 8: And in the.
- 57:43Speaker 11: Atlantic what all of that, they get a huge hurricane
- 57:47Speaker 11: season in the East Pacific and EIA years. What that
- 57:49Speaker 11: does for us is it creates a lot of winds here,
- 57:51Speaker 11: so that when you go on a plane, you know
- 57:53Speaker 11: that cruising altitude, the winds up there are really strong,
- 57:55Speaker 11: and hurricane season in the Atlantic because of all that
- 57:58Speaker 11: activity in the Pacific, and what that does is makes
- 58:00Speaker 11: it really hard to get a lot of hurricanes. So
- 58:03Speaker 11: it really doesn't matter what the water tempture is because
- 58:05Speaker 11: it could be a thousand degrees the wind is too
- 58:07Speaker 11: strong up a lot.
- 58:08Speaker 2: Yeah for sure.
- 58:09Speaker 3: Well, no, that's pretty crazy, man. So this is why
- 58:11Speaker 3: we asked the person with the degree. Yeah, so Noah says, basically,
- 58:14Speaker 3: I just I just get paid to be wrong at
- 58:16Speaker 3: the time. The degree is just on paper.
- 58:19Speaker 2: If you take anything from this, just know that Noah
- 58:21Speaker 2: says that the weather's gonna kill Santa this winter. Yeah,
- 58:25Speaker 2: cannot fly, cap Your gifts are gonna have to come ground. No,
- 58:32Speaker 2: you've been at a pops thirty five a short time.
- 58:35Speaker 10: But do you when you come into a new area,
- 58:38Speaker 10: do you have to kind of research what has happened
- 58:41Speaker 10: historically weatherwise? So question you understand like like when you
- 58:45Speaker 10: reference ninety eight or or maybe some of the major
- 58:48Speaker 10: storms that we've had.
- 58:50Speaker 11: Yes, when I walked in here and people meet me
- 58:52Speaker 11: at the grocery store and they say, hey, yeah, I
- 58:54Speaker 11: had my house blown over in two thousand and seven, Yeah,
- 58:57Speaker 11: I have done cool, I don't know, like what was that?
- 59:02Speaker 3: Tell me about it?
- 59:04Speaker 11: Yes, Like Charlie was really like I had you know,
- 59:07Speaker 11: like we all know, you guys all know true Orlando
- 59:10Speaker 11: Central Floridians. No, Charlie is our benchmark storm. Yeah, sure
- 59:13Speaker 11: had all those storms that have been bad, But if
- 59:15Speaker 11: you ask anybody who's a true Orlando resident for a
- 59:19Speaker 11: good portion of their life, Charlie is the storm that's
- 59:22Speaker 11: the measuring stick to any of the others.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Where did you come to Florida from.
- 59:28Speaker 11: A small town in western Kentucky outside of Nashville, Paduca?
- 59:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that is it part of Tornado Alley up there?
- 59:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 59:38Speaker 11: The worst tornado I covered there was an E four
- 59:41Speaker 11: in twenty twenty one. It was actually one of the
- 59:43Speaker 11: longest tornadoes in American history.
- 59:45Speaker 2: Wow, I think I remember the news stories about that one. Yeah,
- 59:48Speaker 2: and you know, we just had that weird little trimmer
- 59:50Speaker 2: thing from that earthquake near Cuba. But as a weather person,
- 59:54Speaker 2: which weather anomaly scares you the most?
- 59:58Speaker 6: Oh?
- 59:58Speaker 3: Tornadoes? Yea, yeah, definitely.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: Say do you like the movie?
- 1:00:03Speaker 11: What? It's hard for me to watch that because I
- 1:00:06Speaker 11: have to have a couple drinks or something, because you know,
- 1:00:08Speaker 11: there's so much that's scientifically wrong.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Okay, I'm just sitting there. Yeah, I'm just I am
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: sitting there going that would never happen. I'm like, hey, hey, Noah.
- 1:00:17Speaker 10: We were doing dinner river cruise at a Sanford on Saturday,
- 1:00:22Speaker 10: so I'm wondering, can you go in there in the
- 1:00:23Speaker 10: Fox thirty five weather machine. We're looking for no rain
- 1:00:27Speaker 10: from about four pm to eight? Can you make that happen? Also,
- 1:00:30Speaker 10: seventy five degrees in light humidity would be nice? Yeah,
- 1:00:33Speaker 10: dial that up for us.
- 1:00:34Speaker 20: I will.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: I will send you my Venmo and we'll get that
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: right over.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta give it up for Guy.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: Saves.
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: Christmas is the weeknight senior meteorologiest over in Fox thirty
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: five Orlanda. We appreciate your time, big dog. Thank you man,
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: Thank you guys, great weekend right for seven nine one
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: text seven seven zero three one Back in a second
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: with Colbert Court and R buddy Glenn Clawsman. Hi, welcome
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: back to the Jim Colbert Show. We're all radio one
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: oh four point one.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: I am Jim.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: There'szepp Hell Hell, Jack and Ross as well. Let's let's
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: do Colbert Court.
- 1:01:17Speaker 8: When you are listening to is real? Well sort of.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: The participants are not actors as a fact. This is, however,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: a real case that will be decided here in our forum,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: the Colbert Court.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: That's right, Colbercourt, brought to you by our good friend
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Glynn Clausman, the Klosman Law. That's k l A U
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: S M A N wall dot com offices right there
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: in winter Park four oh seven nine one seven seventeen eighteen.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: Car crash. Call that guy right there, mister Glenn Clausman.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Good loud for Glynn Clausman. See that one built up.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: We've been working on it.
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Thanks. Thanks, was very good, very good. How is your
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: how's your trip to down your fancy town bit?
- 1:01:55Speaker 17: Yeah, we were in Palm Beach for a statewide, national
- 1:01:58Speaker 17: or statewide Trial Lawyers convention happens once a year.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it was a good experience.
- 1:02:02Speaker 17: I mean, some of the top lawyers in the state
- 1:02:05Speaker 17: doing seminars, a good learning experience, and a great venue
- 1:02:08Speaker 17: I was at, So it was a lot of fun
- 1:02:10Speaker 17: for four days.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: Actually, that was the question I was going to ask you.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: You've been in the game quite a while. I would
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: say that you are a seasoned attorney here in Central Florida.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: That's true, and the thought of learning something new about
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: law in the state seems almost impractical for a guy
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: with your much your experience, But that happens.
- 1:02:28Speaker 17: Oh not really, it is a learning experience. There's, for instance,
- 1:02:31Speaker 17: there's stuff I don't do. I have a wheelhouse, which
- 1:02:34Speaker 17: is motor vehicle collisions, whether it's motorcycle, truck, car. But
- 1:02:38Speaker 17: there's things like products liability, there's medical malpractice, the premises liability.
- 1:02:43Speaker 17: There was a seminar by one of the top attorneys
- 1:02:45Speaker 17: in the state who focuses on drownings, pool drownings, and
- 1:02:49Speaker 17: just learning about this stuff and knowing who if I
- 1:02:52Speaker 17: get a call for something, who the best lawyers are
- 1:02:54Speaker 17: in the state to refer something like that to it's
- 1:02:56Speaker 17: pretty valuable in medical help practice. I don't do that,
- 1:02:59Speaker 17: but there was some right good seminars on that, so
- 1:03:02Speaker 17: I learned what to look for and I know who
- 1:03:04Speaker 17: to send stuff to if I get it that it's
- 1:03:06Speaker 17: something that I don't do. Plus there's always an update
- 1:03:10Speaker 17: on the current law and how different lawyers have. Some
- 1:03:13Speaker 17: of the top lawyers in the state are dealing with it,
- 1:03:15Speaker 17: so it's always nice to hear what they're doing to
- 1:03:17Speaker 17: make sure I'm doing the same thing, or if I'm not,
- 1:03:18Speaker 17: I need to jump in and do it.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Have you ever headed up one of the seminars, Yes,
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: but it's probably ten years ago.
- 1:03:24Speaker 17: I used to make presentations, but since I started my
- 1:03:27Speaker 17: own practice, I have not been up there. It's a
- 1:03:30Speaker 17: time consuming thing to put it all together and to
- 1:03:33Speaker 17: do it.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, for sure. Well Glenn drops by every Thursday
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: and has for quite a while now. And what we
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: do is we go over a case that he's litigating.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Is this an actual case we have to do? This
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: is a case somebody called me about. Okay, very good,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: We'll read the case. We'll go around the room try
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: to figure out if the members of the show can
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: figure it out and then we'll turn it over to
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: Glenn and find out what actually happens. This segment is
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: to just kind of make you aware of how the
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: legalities work when it comes to getting in the car accident,
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: the steps you should take to make sure that you
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: can ensure that you gonna get paid for your accident,
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: you know, for your injuries and whatnot.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: And here we go.
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: You guys ready, ready, let know it. Chelsea, the idea
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: is trying to help people. Yeah, that's right, always, always, always.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Chelsea and Gina are waitresses on their way home on
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: I four when Gina's vehicle gets rear ended by Carl's
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: pickup truck. Carl only has ten thousand dollars in auto
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: insurance to pay for the injuries to Chelsea. Chelsea's thirty
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: years old. She has a herniated disk in her neck
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: from the collision. Chelsea owns a car and lives with roommates,
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: and she has no uninsured motorist coverage. Carl's insurance has
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: agreed to pay Chelsea the ten thousand dollars, but Chelsea
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: has unpaid medical bills of almost ten thousand dollars, no
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: health insurance, and is still getting treatment for her neck injury.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: Chelsea's lawyer told her there's nothing more he can do
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: for her other than trying to get her medical bill
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: balances reduced. Chelsea wants a second opinion. Can you help her?
- 1:04:56Speaker 5: Do we know?
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: If the pickup truck is involved with a business.
- 1:05:00Speaker 17: There's no other insurance, no other insurance on the pickup truck.
- 1:05:03Speaker 17: On a business truck. It's owned by the fellow Carl
- 1:05:05Speaker 17: who is the driver.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: I'm not a llowyer, but it seems like we got
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: a case solved.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: Where do you go from?
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: This must be a movie here?
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: Okay? So she owns a car and she lives with roommates.
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: Why is that important? It would not be in there
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: if it wasn't important, right, She has no uninsured motors coverage.
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: Carl's insurance is agreed to pay Chelsea the ten k,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: of course, because they'd love to just write to check
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: for ten grant and be gone. Because her continuing treatment
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: could be more expensive down the road, they certainly want
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: her to sign a release so they can only pay
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: her the ten k and then move on. And regardless
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: of what happens down the road, she would never be
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: able to return another dollar. That's what's happening here.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Okay, for sure, that's what's happening.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: The r key is is find out how we can
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: get her more money to pay for those treatments that
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: she has to continue to get.
- 1:05:52Speaker 10: And they mentioned she has roommates, no other insurance, so
- 1:05:56Speaker 10: there's no homeowners insurance that are renting.
- 1:05:58Speaker 17: Right yess insurance insurance would not apply to motor vehicle.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: That's what I was about to say.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Well, we're looking for all sources of mine.
- 1:06:09Speaker 9: What about her passenger that was with her? There has
- 1:06:11Speaker 9: been no mention of the fact of the other waitress
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: that was in the car with her.
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: The other person's the driver, the driver, right, Okay, So
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: if she's the driver and the injured we're talking, Gina's
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: the driver. Chelsea's the one who's hurt.
- 1:06:24Speaker 9: So Gina, we need to go after Gina's insurance then,
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: because if Carl can only yes, if Carl can only
- 1:06:30Speaker 9: give the ten thousand that he has, and Gina's the
- 1:06:33Speaker 9: driver of the car in which Chelsea is injured, then
- 1:06:36Speaker 9: we need to go after Gina's insurance to help her passenger.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: I can occur with my colleague, that's the only other
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: source of insurance money. That's available here. He doesn't look
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: excited about it, but it's the only thing we can do.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: No, you're given us.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: Listen, we've taken the bar. We know what we're talking about.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Come on into the quidden canoe. We give your next case.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: You know, she had ten thousand of her own insurance
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: to pay toward medical bills. But that's all gone also, right,
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: so she has she got ten thousand left. She's got
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: a fault, no.
- 1:07:13Speaker 20: Bill.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: No, she's a passenger in that vehicle.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:07:16Speaker 9: If Gina has stacked, what if she has the what
- 1:07:19Speaker 9: if she has enough insurance instead of just the bare bones?
- 1:07:24Speaker 9: Could she use her uninsured motorists coverage?
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Just are you saying Gina's uninsured motorists coverage.
- 1:07:30Speaker 9: Cover Chelsea because because Carl doesn't have enough to cover
- 1:07:36Speaker 9: the injuries that were sustained in the accident, that Gina
- 1:07:38Speaker 9: is not responsible for.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: Correct.
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: But that's the only way I could see that she
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: could get that extra money to cover her injuries is
- 1:07:46Speaker 9: to go after Gene, not go after but to use
- 1:07:48Speaker 9: Gina's uninsured motorists cover.
- 1:07:50Speaker 10: I think Counselor Roberts Carson is on the right path here,
- 1:07:53Speaker 10: and judging by your response, and that's hyphenated by.
- 1:07:55Speaker 17: The way, that's exactly that's exactly the answer. Yeah, she's
- 1:08:02Speaker 17: a passenger in Gina's car, so she's entitled Gina's uninsured
- 1:08:05Speaker 17: motorist coverage.
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:08:06Speaker 17: Really, Gina happens to have twenty five thousand, and the
- 1:08:09Speaker 17: other lawyer apparently didn't check into that or or for
- 1:08:12Speaker 17: some reason didn't let Chelsea know why.
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: The right lawyer matters exactly exactly, because this is another.
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: Well, but the other guy missed out, Well will will
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: miss Roberts, We'll get us. I was about to say
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: the savings out time.
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: Exactly word for right. Yeah, you all are getting better
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: every week. Yeah, yeah, that's very good. I mean in
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: eight years, we're no Kardashian. What is interesting about this
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: is like, so does this will this cause Gina's insurance
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: to increase even though it really didn't affect her or
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: benefit her at all?
- 1:08:53Speaker 17: Yeah, good question. It's not supposed to because Gina was
- 1:08:56Speaker 17: not at fault. As an insurance company, you're not supposed
- 1:08:59Speaker 17: to rate someone for a non fault event. But unfortunately,
- 1:09:03Speaker 17: there's really no teeth to that law on how do
- 1:09:04Speaker 17: you approve when her rates go up that the rates
- 1:09:07Speaker 17: have gone up because of a claim made by Chelsea
- 1:09:09Speaker 17: versus some other reason. That's the problem.
- 1:09:13Speaker 9: So, Glenn, I had done a story on Tuesday earlier
- 1:09:16Speaker 9: this week, and I've been chomping at the bit to
- 1:09:18Speaker 9: ask you to ask you about it. Okay, So the
- 1:09:21Speaker 9: story is that the USAA Insurance policy Insurance Company says
- 1:09:26Speaker 9: some policyholders here in Florida are going to be getting
- 1:09:29Speaker 9: almost a billion dollars in combined savings and returns, including
- 1:09:34Speaker 9: a five hundred million dollar dividend.
- 1:09:36Speaker 21: Now.
- 1:09:36Speaker 9: USAA says this is possible because of Florida's civil litigation
- 1:09:40Speaker 9: and tort reforms that passed three years ago.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: I see the smile, the wry smile behind you. That's now.
- 1:09:46Speaker 9: The company says those reforms have led to fewer lawsuits
- 1:09:49Speaker 9: and lower legal costs. If that is truly the case,
- 1:09:52Speaker 9: then why are just now? Why is it only USAA.
- 1:09:55Speaker 9: Why isn't every other major auto insurer out there coming
- 1:09:59Speaker 9: back in praising Florida's tort reform and giving us some
- 1:10:02Speaker 9: of our damn money back?
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:10:05Speaker 17: Sorry, why should they give you the money back if
- 1:10:07Speaker 17: they don't have to at this point? But what I
- 1:10:08Speaker 17: suspect will happen is just before the next legislative session
- 1:10:12Speaker 17: when there's a movement again to try to change Florida's
- 1:10:18Speaker 17: insurance laws to require people to have car insurance when
- 1:10:22Speaker 17: they get an accidents that's going to pay for someone
- 1:10:24Speaker 17: else's injuries. It's called bodily andryliability coverage. You know, Florida
- 1:10:27Speaker 17: doesn't require it. Now, we've been pushing for Florida required
- 1:10:30Speaker 17: for a long long time, and every legislative session the
- 1:10:33Speaker 17: insurance industry doesn't want it to happen.
- 1:10:35Speaker 3: And they try to hang it on fraud.
- 1:10:36Speaker 17: Right, they try to hang it on fraud's so there's
- 1:10:39Speaker 17: so very few fraud that's the major word now fraud. Well,
- 1:10:44Speaker 17: now the major word's going to be, Oh, it's the
- 1:10:46Speaker 17: trial lawyers and all the lawsuits. And we got rid
- 1:10:48Speaker 17: of all those lawsuits that reason, for that reason, we
- 1:10:51Speaker 17: can lower the rates. And it's true there's so many
- 1:10:54Speaker 17: there's fewer lawsuits for not paying medical bills. But what's
- 1:10:59Speaker 17: happening is a medical aren't getting paid.
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: Well, the other thing too, is I mean, you can't
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: roll the dice like you could before because you are
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: now having to you know, you now are going to
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: be responsible for some of the money right as before.
- 1:11:09Speaker 4: It wasn't like that.
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: So, I mean, they're sure it does take out frivolous lawsuits,
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: but how many are actually frivolous compared to how many
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: people this actually hurts down the road.
- 1:11:18Speaker 17: That's a great, great point, you know. The thing is
- 1:11:21Speaker 17: they complain that there were lawyer fees. Whre a lot
- 1:11:25Speaker 17: of lawyer fees for a lot of lawsuits. But the
- 1:11:28Speaker 17: real thing is there's no lawsuit if you're going to
- 1:11:30Speaker 17: pay the claim properly. There's no lawsuit and attorney fees
- 1:11:34Speaker 17: being recovered against you if you're going to do the
- 1:11:36Speaker 17: right thing and pay the claim in the first place.
- 1:11:38Speaker 17: The only time that there's lawsuits and attorneys fees are
- 1:11:41Speaker 17: when you don't pay the claims and you later lose
- 1:11:45Speaker 17: on something you shouldn't have you know, you should have
- 1:11:47Speaker 17: paid in the beginning, and then you got to pay
- 1:11:48Speaker 17: the lawyer fees.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: Hey, go back to this case with Chelsea and Jena.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: It never really mentions Gina's getting getting your car fixed.
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: What happens with that?
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: If ten k if all that ten thousand dollars went
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: to take care of Chelsea's injuries, what happened to Gina's vehicle.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Will that be her own insurance paying for her own car? Y,
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: that's a good question.
- 1:12:07Speaker 17: Everybody has to have insurance to pay for damage you
- 1:12:10Speaker 17: do to someone else's car, which is crazy. Well, you
- 1:12:13Speaker 17: have to have ten thousand dollars to pay for damage
- 1:12:15Speaker 17: you do to someone else's car when it's your fault.
- 1:12:17Speaker 17: You don't have to have insurance to pay for someone
- 1:12:19Speaker 17: else's injuries when it's your fault. So the carl had
- 1:12:22Speaker 17: ten thousand dollars to pay towards the damage to Gena's car.
- 1:12:25Speaker 17: And I assume it was less I know anything about it,
- 1:12:27Speaker 17: and that covers it. And if it was more and
- 1:12:30Speaker 17: Gina had collision coverage, her collision coverage would have paid
- 1:12:33Speaker 17: her more to get the car fixed.
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: And obviously that's easy to understand because I mean a
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: car fixing a car as a finite number. It's not
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: someone here to go continually going through a spinal injury
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: and having treatments for the next three years to be
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: so they can walk again. That could cost tens of
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars. That's why that's happening.
- 1:12:52Speaker 9: It's sill nice to know this data is looking after
- 1:12:54Speaker 9: our cars. I mean, maybe not our bodies, but at
- 1:12:56Speaker 9: least our cars.
- 1:12:57Speaker 17: Well, you know, a lot of to do with the
- 1:12:58Speaker 17: fact that a lot of people have lone in their cars.
- 1:13:00Speaker 17: In the banking industry wants to make sure that there's
- 1:13:02Speaker 17: coverage to pay those loans when a car gets damp.
- 1:13:04Speaker 10: Yeah, Glenn, if Genu's car damage exceeded ten thousand dollars,
- 1:13:08Speaker 10: which is the policy that Carl, the guy who hit
- 1:13:11Speaker 10: her hat right, you said, her collision coverage would cover
- 1:13:14Speaker 10: the rest.
- 1:13:15Speaker 17: Her collision coverage would pay it and then go after
- 1:13:17Speaker 17: Carls to get the ten grand back that Carl has.
- 1:13:19Speaker 17: Would she have to meet a deductible for what they
- 1:13:23Speaker 17: have to pay. She would, but then her insurance company
- 1:13:26Speaker 17: would go after Carl's insurance company for the day, would
- 1:13:29Speaker 17: get the ten thousand dollars, and they're obligated to pay
- 1:13:31Speaker 17: her the first five hundred one thousand whatever her deductible
- 1:13:34Speaker 17: is from the ten thousand dollars they would recover from
- 1:13:36Speaker 17: Carl's insurance.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: But this is also where gap insurance can come into
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: play as well, because if that loan is like really,
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: this is like a real high end car or whatever,
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: and there's a massive gap there and virtually no chance
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: to get it from Carl. I mean that's what gap
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: insurance is for. Yeah, gap insurance usually I hear about
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: it when the car's totaled. Yeah yeah, and there's not
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: enough coverage to pay for the total loss of the car,
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: and then just gap steps in. And I mean I've
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: had calls about gap insurance and it's become so tricky.
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: It's almost like they've got so many doors, yeah, so
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: many closes in there that they don't end up hardly
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: paying anything.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Oh wow, really wow.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: The one thing that we can take away is that
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: everyone should have uninsured motors.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: Going absolutely absolutely.
- 1:14:13Speaker 17: It was beneficial that Gina had uninsured motors saved or ass,
- 1:14:16Speaker 17: didn't it.
- 1:14:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14:17Speaker 17: So if you have uninsured motors coverage and someone's the
- 1:14:20Speaker 17: passenger and gets hurt in your car, your uninsured motors
- 1:14:22Speaker 17: coverage can protect them. Man, if you're in someone else's
- 1:14:25Speaker 17: car and they have uninsured motors coverage, you're protected to
- 1:14:27Speaker 17: that extent too.
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: That's a good advice. A tail as old as time.
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: Speaking of tail as old as time, can we go
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: back to the year two thousand. Glenn I was wondering
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: if if you knew if Karl was a big fan
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: of Great Children cinema, as in the flint Stones and
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: Viva Rock Vegas. They had caused, didn't they, Yes they did, yes, yes,
- 1:14:47Speaker 4: And they had to pedal with the little tozies.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:14:50Speaker 4: Because it was before an engine was made. Do you
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: think they had non insured motorist coverage? You know that's
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: where my brain's been at.
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: Yah, that Bedrock.
- 1:14:59Speaker 17: I'm not sure that they were selling it back then,
- 1:15:01Speaker 17: but I bet you when the Jetsons came around, they
- 1:15:03Speaker 17: were selling it. We're getting awful close to the Jetsons,
- 1:15:05Speaker 17: so close.
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: Well, yeah, apologize to the Flintstones for catching astray.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: They just rescue, didn't they just rescue rescue some people
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: at sea with a drone. Yeah yeah, the pilots from
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: the yeah.
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: From the shut down plane. They literally rescued those guys
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: with a drone with the drone ship. Yeah.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: Crazy.
- 1:15:22Speaker 10: Congratulations ship to Attorney Deborah Roberts slash Carson for solving
- 1:15:28Speaker 10: the case of the two rear ended waitresses.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Oh my god, and he smiled at that one headline.

- 1:16:29Speaker 3: But Jimmy, I will tell you this is the ie
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: on you.
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: These two girls did.
- 1:16:34Speaker 7: Not come it murder nor rip the boy. But the
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: hell in Jenuit our bond. The cruise boy that ripped
- 1:16:43Speaker 7: and murder a girl is our freely with no bone whatsoever.
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: What the I'm really talking about?
- 1:16:52Speaker 10: The two girls who were planning to kill the kid.
- 1:16:56Speaker 10: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, they're in without bond. But the
- 1:16:59Speaker 10: kid from the cruise ship at mckechner case where they
- 1:17:04Speaker 10: step sis through what grape and murdered. He's out on

- 1:17:17Speaker 4: Good After Morning, Colbert Caru Man.
- 1:17:20Speaker 22: I am always loving Glenn's segment. He always brings such
- 1:17:24Speaker 22: a great vibe to the show, always teaching us something new.
- 1:17:27Speaker 22: I mean, the vast amount and always we've gained over
- 1:17:29Speaker 22: the years is great, including adding onsured motives coverage to
- 1:17:32Speaker 22: my plan years ago now. But actually had a really
- 1:17:34Speaker 22: good thing with my insurance last month.
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: Want to go paying a bill?
- 1:17:37Speaker 22: Realize I was a month ahead.
- 1:17:39Speaker 8: Always a great thing with that.
- 1:17:40Speaker 4: Oh, I love it out.
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: It's like finding a twenty in the drive.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: Love this show.
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:17:45Speaker 21: Super El Nino season should mean fewer stronger storms, but
- 1:17:50Speaker 21: just remember this, don't be unprepared. Andrew happened during a
- 1:17:55Speaker 21: Super El Nino season. It can still happen. Don't let
- 1:17:59Speaker 21: your guard down.
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: One storm, first storm and only storm that season. Welcome
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: back to the Jim Corberg Show. I'm Jim.
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: There's deb Jack, Yes, and Ross. It's we'll get some
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: Ross thoughts here about an hour or so as we
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: move through the day, like finding that twenty in the drier,
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: there's another Uh see. I don't think you guys balance
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: your checkbooks, do you?
- 1:18:22Speaker 11: No?
- 1:18:22Speaker 9: No, no, no no.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: I don't have a checkbook, buddy, I mean, I mean
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: I have one.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: We don't need to balance that all right a year.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: I feel like I'm talking typewriters and yell.
- 1:18:31Speaker 10: Because I do balance my checkbook every month, and sometimes
- 1:18:35Speaker 10: if you put a charge in there twice, and then
- 1:18:37Speaker 10: when you go to balances, you realize that's like found money.
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: Oh yeah, man, it's like.
- 1:18:41Speaker 4: Oh I paid that bill.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Oh look, I get that's money. I don't have to
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: take it. There is nothing like that.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: And we've had that experience before, but it didn't turn
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: out that way because my wife found ah one of
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: those casino little things there when you cash out of
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: like a saught machine. Yeah, he doesn't give you money anymore,
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: it gives you this little slip to take up to
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: the cage. Well, when she's playing and drinking, you know,
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: she doesn't think about it. Some times we get home
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: from a cruise and she finds one of those in
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: her pockets and it's worth, like it's on a fifty bucks,
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: it's a it's a pretty number.
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: We're like, well, what do we do with this?
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: You got to buy a whole other cruise and that's
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: exactly what we had to do. We had to do that,
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: and that we were lucky. Let me tell you, we
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: got lucky that they that they gave us the money.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: And they did because I mean, I don't think they
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: had to waita whoa, whoa, whoa why because we left
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: the ship and I think there's a time thing. They
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: were really cool though, because we called in advance. A
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: minute she found out. We called them and we let
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: them know we have another cruise booked and we want
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: to make sure we can use this, and they they
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: wouldn't give us an answer. They said, hey, look, just
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: get on the boat and go to the cage and
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: try to cam and try to cash it and see
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: what happens, and believe or not it worked.
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: She got the money, you know, four hundred bucks. I
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: would think it would work. But like, I wonder how
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: much money they make by not dispensing cash. Man, right,
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: how many times if someone lost this slip or something.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: Oh man, oh it's a whole bunch and we there
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: are people who walk through casinos just to see if
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: people have left credits on the machine because they don't
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: know how the machine works.
- 1:20:03Speaker 10: And believe it or not, there's quite a few guess what,
- 1:20:05Speaker 10: I don't know how those I just see these giant screens. Yeah,
- 1:20:10Speaker 10: and it's like it's all like way too much happening.
- 1:20:13Speaker 10: It's a lot, and I have to tell you that's
- 1:20:14Speaker 10: one of the reasons I don't play. But my wife
- 1:20:16Speaker 10: has learned those things, like leftis. She speaks that language,
- 1:20:19Speaker 10: that slot language.
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: She can actually walk.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: Around and see certain machines and how they're about to
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: pay off based on levels of certain like bonuses that
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: you get while you're playing. People will play it, and
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: if they don't win, they just move on, not realizing
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: that the money they've been putting in there has been
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: building up these pots or are these you know, these
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: other bonus programs, So they're about to get paid if
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: they just play a little bit longer, they will they
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: will get paid. On our first cruise, the one that
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: we did two years ago, we cash Giant with that theory,
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: just walking around looking for machines that were on the
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: verge of paying off and playing them for a little
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: bit and hitting them. I'm not a slow machine guy.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: Yeah I'm not either. The lights man, I just look
- 1:20:55Speaker 3: at the lights.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't seem like you're doing anything it Yeah.
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: Just I mean, hey, if you win and she's got
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: if she has a system, there's no system per se,
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: but you can you can advantage yourself by knowing how
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: the machines pay out.
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: I mean, I mean, you just told Central Florida like, hey, man,
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: don't quit gambling. I didn't tell that there's a wall
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: you to power through that you have to.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: Pay attention, but you don't have to power through a little.
- 1:21:19Speaker 3: Bit power through the losses. Never stopped trying.
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: So I saw the story on USA today and I
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: find it kind of interesting because I don't know how
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: to kind of process this. And what they were talking
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: about is the best fried chicken joint in the US.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: What is the best fast food fried chicken? Ass food? Yeah,
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: fast food? Well, I mean I think most fried chicken
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: that we consume is probably fast food.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: You know, fried chicken.
- 1:21:46Speaker 9: I'm thinking, what's that famous one in uh the Nashville
- 1:21:49Speaker 9: hot where there's Hattie Bee.
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a couple of bump there, Hatty Bees is
- 1:21:53Speaker 2: very famous for sure. Who do you think won the
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: best fried chicken? Dave's Hot Chicken. You said, Dave's Hot Chicken.
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: Yeah, what do you hoop? Pop out?
- 1:22:00Speaker 9: It's fast food? You say, yeah, Chick fil A. See,
- 1:22:05Speaker 9: and that's the answer. But that ain't right.
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: I'm about to they consider that that is not It
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: is chicken, and that's been fried. Technically it is, but
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: it is not the fried chicken that we know that
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: is fried chicken.
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: Because it has to be on the bone.
- 1:22:24Speaker 4: To me, it has got to be on the bone.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: Even even chicken strips, although they're fried chicken. If you
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: ask me how their fried chicken is, I'm like, they
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: don't serve fried chicken. It's got to be on the
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: bone or it's not fried chicken. I know that sounds
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: completely ridiculous.
- 1:22:37Speaker 10: It doesn't, no, because that's exactly what you imagine when
- 1:22:40Speaker 10: you say fried chicken exactly.
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: But you said Chick fil A because did you just
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: think it was gonna be a swerve.
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: I was just trying to think of a chicken restaurant. Yeah, sorry, Chick.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: Fil A, KFC, Popeyes, Raising Canes, all of those places
- 1:22:54Speaker 2: have been considered that what do you think the best,
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: they thought the best burger was well, at.
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: This point they're probably gonna go with Long John Silver.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: But yeah, Chick fil A, I'll go five guys. Five
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: guys is the answer. That's really you wouldn't have the
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: big part of that story.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: It's not.
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: It really isn't that surprising that five guys came in first.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: It is surprising who came in second, Burger King. Burger
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: King came in second. Dude. Mcdonals was way on the
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: list and even Windy's was way down. Burger King must
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: be on one right now, dude, because they I mean,
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: and the numbers were good for Burger King.
- 1:23:25Speaker 10: Saw again. I saw a commercial last night. It's it's
- 1:23:28Speaker 10: their campaign of we listened to you. We're focusing on
- 1:23:32Speaker 10: making the Whopper the Whopper again and quality burger. And yeah,
- 1:23:36Speaker 10: I tried it recently because of that advertising, and it
- 1:23:40Speaker 10: was better.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: It wasn't really the time I had at the previous
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: I'll give you the idea how close it is. Five
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: guys ranked first with fifteen point five percent of the vote.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: Burger King came in second with fifteen percent, only lost
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: to five guys by half a percent. And five guys
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: is like, if you get a burger fries in Minnesota,
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: there isn't it like twenty two dollars now or something.
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: It's not cheap. Yeah, I mean, but you also get
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: fries to feed a small nation, right exactly, their damn
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: good fries. I always fall guilty of that. I love
- 1:24:06Speaker 4: seeing that brown bag, sweaty looking back at me.
- 1:24:10Speaker 10: Yeah, there's something that that really drives it home when
- 1:24:14Speaker 10: you see the oil stained bag.
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, and you know it's gonna be good when
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: you take a bite of a fry and you're like,
- 1:24:19Speaker 4: I know, I'm about to get a pimple on the
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: side of my mouth, and dude, I.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: Gonna tell you. I'm gonna tell you something else too.
- 1:24:24Speaker 2: You know, when we used to get these burgers from
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: this place in town called Jerry's Driving, which is just
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: your stereotypical old school drive in cafe from an old
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: the burgers were wrapped in that it's it's kind of
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: like the same burger paper that Burger King uses, but
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: it's that old school diner kind of semila, and it'll
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: have the oil on the outside from the burger because
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: they don't care how much bad content's in there. And
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: that goes through the bag that you're one hundred percent right, dude,
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: That greasy bag is that is the indicator that your
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: burger is gonna be supreme.
- 1:24:54Speaker 4: And uh, I remember hearing a great little spiel about
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: the psychology of what it does to the customer when
- 1:25:00Speaker 4: they get when you see as a customer, you see
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: them scoop up fries, they put the cup of fries
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: in the bag. Then they grab another scoop, not via cup,
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: but with the scooper right into the bag, and then
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: you just feel like, oh, I got myself a deal. Yeah, exactly,
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: it's just corporate policy. It's the cheapest thing they could
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: possibly serve you.
- 1:25:20Speaker 9: Somebody texted us about Maryland Fried Chicken. I've never tried that.
- 1:25:24Speaker 9: That reminds me of the beefy King of the Fried
- 1:25:26Speaker 9: Chicken restaurants. Yeah, yeah, Maryland is old school. I was
- 1:25:30Speaker 9: gonna say, I've only seen one. I think it's like
- 1:25:32Speaker 9: in the bell Isle area or something like that.
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: There was one for years up on Edgewater and Lee
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: Road right there in that little I forget the it's
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: called north Gate or something area, but that that one
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: was the last one I remember seeing, and it was
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: just a lot like original chicken from KFC as I
- 1:25:47Speaker 2: remember it, okay, and then nobody been just churches. Man,
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: Church's fried Chicken is damn good. Have you guys ever
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: been to a churches? I don't care chicken. They're super
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: old school. But let me tell you, man, they fried Oprah.
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: It is unbelievably good. They did a good job.
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: Did you have a Maryland Fried Chicken and Lee's Burke?
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: It was allove it over Jack.
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: Not for chicken.
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: I go there for god pizza. Who do you think
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: one for pizza?
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: Not say pizza hut?
- 1:26:17Speaker 10: The change shouldn't even I don't think it should be allowed.
- 1:26:23Speaker 10: Who do you think one for pizza?
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: Best?
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: Best national chain for pizza?
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: Who do you think Papa John's?
- 1:26:28Speaker 4: No, Okay, I'm gonna guess because I think every city
- 1:26:31Speaker 4: has one of these. Anthony's nice, Okay that let's just
- 1:26:36Speaker 4: go Marco.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: I'll go all right, Domino's.
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: And what'd you say, my last one or my first one?
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: What did you say?
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: Your first one?
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: Was?
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: My first one was Papa John's?
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Papa John's comes in third. Actually, don't say pizza.
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: Dominoes comes in second.
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: I'll go hungry, howies little Caesars comes in fourth, and
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: Pizza Hut is the number one pizza chain in America
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: according to this study.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: But okay, is that sales? Yeah?
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: I think it is sales. Yeah, okay, Yeah. What about
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: saying about quality? Yeah, no, it doesn't say anything.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: You have forty four thousand responses between March and February,
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: from March twenty twenty five to February of twenty six
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: and America's favorite fast food chains. And that's exactly what
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: this is. Forty four thousand people pulled and that's how
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: it came out. But there's also those are the same
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: people who said chickile was fried chicken exactly, so who knows. Yeah,
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: that's a little disgraceful.
- 1:27:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: And then uh, actually In and Out Burger came in third.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: I heard that's supposed to be like the best burger
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: in America.
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: I haven't had one.
- 1:27:39Speaker 4: Which one is that In and Out Burger?
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: I think they're only on the West Coast.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: Yeah they are. I like a good culfers, a butter burger.
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: But covers, Damn, have you had culvers?
- 1:27:48Speaker 4: I've had culvers, I've had In and Out? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:27:50Speaker 4: but I enjoy both. I enjoyed the name of In
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: and Out because I almost thought that was funny. I
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: take it literal.
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: Krolls Hamburgers, Yeah, is the best. Have you guys ever,
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: Do you guys ever choose something because of the fries?
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: Like I used to. I used to hate Steak and
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: chake fries, but I love I went through a minute
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: there where I could not eat any other burger than
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: Steak and Chake because of the fries.
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: Have you guys?
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: Do you guys make choices like that? One of the
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: reasons I do like Culvers, but I don't like Culver's fries.
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: They have to crinkle fries, but they don't cook them enough.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: You gotta get them real crispy man. Yeah, they're sad. Okay,
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: it's not sad.
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: I know it's sad when those fries are all floppy
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: and it's just all flaccid of a potato experience.
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: You don't want that.
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: Yeah, And as you get older, it's a reminder, Yeah,
- 1:28:33Speaker 2: you better put some blue pills in that oil.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: Better crack those things out, better blue choo those fries.
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: We had a major controversy that happened online, and it's
- 1:28:46Speaker 2: a really sensitive subject. I'm not joking. This is not
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: a joke, but we are going to talk about this
- 1:28:51Speaker 2: next and so just dirk yourself. We'll do that right
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: after this four point one.
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: You know you have if it's grand mother whistle to ball.
- 1:29:13Speaker 23: And the day we raise of beers Nationals stay hide. Wait,
- 1:29:17Speaker 23: I've read that wrong, say Hiday, So Hi, how you doing?
- 1:29:25Speaker 23: Hope you're well, y'all have a great show, love y'all.
- 1:29:29Speaker 4: Peace.
- 1:29:33Speaker 8: Hey, Jim, Happy Thursday.
- 1:29:35Speaker 16: Got a little quick recipe for you, shrimp Monterey, largest
- 1:29:39Speaker 16: trimp you can find to dain them, put in that crevice,
- 1:29:42Speaker 16: monoey jack cheese, alapinas, wrap, park cooked bacon, and put
- 1:29:48Speaker 16: on the grill.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: Mm I've been speeling a lot better than we are.
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: Were you asking for a money shrimp? I did not
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: put out a request. Now, all right, welcome back to
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: the Jim Colbert Show. We're already one of four point one.
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: I'm Jim. There's deb Hell Jack is here as well. Yeah, Ross,
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: that's true.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: We are your Monterey shrimp station. So if you ever
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: feel that you randomly need to share your favorite recipe,
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: feel free to give us a call. When Orlando's waiting
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: on their edge of their seat. How you doing, Ross,
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: everything good, Everything's good, all right? You know I I
- 1:30:28Speaker 2: was thinking during this segment, I gotta tell you, I
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: I you know, I when I saw this story today,
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: I was like, this is like an incredible talker, but
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: it is not a you know, it is not a
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: savory story. So I don't know if I should do it.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: I told deb what it was. What do you think of, Deborah?
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: Is that a Is that an odd thing to talk about?
- 1:30:50Speaker 24: How can you not?
- 1:30:51Speaker 5: Now?
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: Yeah, well, okay, I'll tell you what's up. I gotta
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: tell you. Maybe you guys can help me out, because
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: I really did not know where to go with this.
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: To be honest with you, I just found it to
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: be a really unique, you know what you say, perfect
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: question ross all right, yeah, a little perfect debate, a
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: little perfect debate thing. Let me go back to the
- 1:31:08Speaker 2: original story here real quick, and I'll do this because
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: as I started kind of reading the story again and
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: reacclimating myself with it, I was like, God, that's that's
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: kind of a bummer.
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: But you know, I'm well, life is filled with bummers. Yeah.
- 1:31:19Speaker 3: Are you familiar with a YouTuber named Jesse Ridgeway?
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: I am not. Yeah, I'm not either, And I don't
- 1:31:24Speaker 2: really don't even know what kind of content Jesse Ridgeway creates,
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: but uh, he made news today because I guess part
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: of Jesse Ridgway's thing is is you share people. His
- 1:31:35Speaker 2: YouTube name is Mick jugger Nuggets. He's nobody.
- 1:31:40Speaker 7: I know.
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: It's just it's hard to have serious conversations, right, yeah,
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: yeah with mcjugger nuggets.
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: Mc jugger nuggets, who has four million followers.
- 1:31:50Speaker 23: Uh.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: And basically as they as mister mc jugger nuggets shares
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: his life story, which you know bloggers and YouTubers will
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: you know, he's sharing everything, right, So they go through
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: the context of sharing what he and his wife are
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: going through in life. And one of those things were
- 1:32:06Speaker 2: they that they found out that they were pregnant, right,
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: got it okay? And he acknowledged that they were talking
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: about it. And as they talked about it, he also
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: shared this and he is you know, they're getting destroyed
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: online for it.
- 1:32:23Speaker 3: Yeah. They did the is it amniocentesis?
- 1:32:25Speaker 2: Is it the test? I believe so, and they found
- 1:32:28Speaker 2: out that they were more than likely going to have
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: a Down's child, have a child down syndrome, and they
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: chose in the pregnancy. Now again, that is a super
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: heavy topic. I don't even know where to go with it,
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: but I found it interesting that he chose to share
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: that online as part of the continuing story of his
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: wife's pregnancy.
- 1:32:47Speaker 10: So there's a lot of people I believe would make
- 1:32:50Speaker 10: that decision. But sharing it is another component. And you
- 1:32:55Speaker 10: could say that's it's oversharing, or you could also say
- 1:33:00Speaker 10: that's ballsy, no question. Let me read you a couple
- 1:33:03Speaker 10: of paragraphs from the story so you can get an
- 1:33:04Speaker 10: idea of how this guy has handled this with his wife.
- 1:33:07Speaker 10: He goes, quote, I know some of you may be
- 1:33:09Speaker 10: very disappointed to hear this news. We are devastated. This
- 1:33:12Speaker 10: has been an extremely traumatic for both of us, especially
- 1:33:15Speaker 10: his wife. Shuder went the procedure earlier this week and
- 1:33:18Speaker 10: is on the men. Thankfully everything went smoothly, but emotionally
- 1:33:21Speaker 10: we're drained.
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: He listened.
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: He listed some statistics that Down syndrome babies have heart defects,
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: seventy five percent have hearing issues, and half will also
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: have eyesight challenges. Added that impaired immune functions, developmental disabilities,
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: learning disabilities, delayed physical development PORMA. He listed all these
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: things that come along with DOWN syndrome, and his whole
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: take was that he wouldn't want to put a child
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: through that life.
- 1:33:49Speaker 4: Woo. Yeah, that's a sentence right there, just just scoffing
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: and disrespecting an entire community. Yeah, to be honest with you,
- 1:33:58Speaker 4: is one of the most beloved sectors of humanity on
- 1:34:03Speaker 4: the planet.
- 1:34:03Speaker 9: Yeah, it's like hearing RFK Junior talk about what autistic
- 1:34:07Speaker 9: people on the neurodivergence spectrum are never going to accomplish
- 1:34:11Speaker 9: in their life, and then you go on Instagram and
- 1:34:12Speaker 9: they're like, Okay, let's listen, and.
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: It says, he says, he continues on, and this how
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: he ends it. It goes sadly. The list is long.
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: Feel free to look it up. Down syndrome isn't a blessing.
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: It's objectively crappy. But he uses the S word there
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: from a health perspective. And then, of course, immediately immediately
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: he got handled online. Yeah, because you know there were
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: people out there that have kids that are downs and
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: immediately started going, you know, all of those things could
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: be true, but you know, my life has never been
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: more blessed.
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: And to say, I mean just there's so many sentences
- 1:34:48Speaker 4: there that I'm like oh god. I mean the best
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: first thing is that he said that it's not a blessing,
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: but it is some people's blessings.
- 1:34:58Speaker 9: It is.
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: Yeah, matter of fact, the one person said right here,
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: it says, uh quote, my son has down syndrome. He's
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: one of the best things that's ever happened to me.
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: The list of conditions sounds terrifying at first, but modern
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: medicine can do so much for them. If you ever
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: get a positive screening, I promise you won't regret welcoming
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: your child. And then you know a lot of those
- 1:35:15Speaker 2: and to be honest with you, the story doesn't print
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: many responses of positivity. Some of them basically say, hey, look,
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: you know you're you're a grown adult. You can do
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: what you want.
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: This is your choice.
- 1:35:27Speaker 11: You know.
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: You guys will have to live with this for the
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: remainder of your existence, you know. And I mean, that's
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: as positive as it got. Really, I'm and he said,
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: he also said, this blew up in my face because
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: nobody talks about it.
- 1:35:41Speaker 4: It's true.
- 1:35:42Speaker 10: They do the test, and you know, for most people
- 1:35:46Speaker 10: that comes back negative and you just you say, oh,
- 1:35:49Speaker 10: thank goodness, and you move on.
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: But when it doesn't how many people have made that decision.
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: You know, they just stayed moments.
- 1:35:57Speaker 9: And I was going to say back to your point, Jack,
- 1:36:01Speaker 9: to me, Jimmy, this just points to one of the
- 1:36:03Speaker 9: cancers of social media, and that is your belief that
- 1:36:07Speaker 9: you have to share everything in your life with me,
- 1:36:10Speaker 9: and then you're not gonna like it when I share
- 1:36:12Speaker 9: my opinion.
- 1:36:13Speaker 2: And basically he says that as well. He says, quote,
- 1:36:15Speaker 2: this is the guy Ridgeway, the son that the father
- 1:36:18Speaker 2: MC juggernuggets. He says, I've never seen such hate and
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: vitriol for two people grieving the loss of their unborn
- 1:36:24Speaker 2: child and making an impossible decision.
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: What an idiot?
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: Wow, tone deaf right.
- 1:36:29Speaker 2: The last twenty four hours have exposed the size of
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: a side of humanity that is deeply disturbing. Being called
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: a murderous piece of s evil compared to Hitler and
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: even receiving NonStop death threats have been par for the course.
- 1:36:42Speaker 2: What was he expecting? I don't really know what he was.
- 1:36:45Speaker 10: Expecting here, But that would apply to anyone who terminates
- 1:36:49Speaker 10: a pregnancy, would it not?
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: Not necessarily? But I don't think so. I think maybe
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: I think the sympathetic nature of Down's child or is
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: it down child probably makes this worse. I mean, I
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: would agree with you on the surface, like logically that
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: makes sense, but I think if you look at a
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: you know, a group of people who are you know,
- 1:37:07Speaker 2: I don't know, under privilege?
- 1:37:08Speaker 4: Is that a word?
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: Is that a word to use there? Or people that
- 1:37:11Speaker 3: are different different?
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: Yeah, and they are. I said it before. It's like
- 1:37:16Speaker 4: there's some of the most beloved people on the planet
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: at least universally that I've seen. Uh. And to go
- 1:37:25Speaker 4: ahead and say that it's not just to be so
- 1:37:28Speaker 4: public about it, because just to clarify your quick sances
- 1:37:31Speaker 4: I'm completely with deb is that this is a side effect.
- 1:37:34Speaker 9: You live by the people, well, you will die by
- 1:37:36Speaker 9: the people. You could have just kept your pregnancy quiet.
- 1:37:39Speaker 9: You could have just there's so many angles you could
- 1:37:41Speaker 9: have taken with this story. You chose to make it
- 1:37:43Speaker 9: front and center, front page.
- 1:37:44Speaker 2: You know what, Jack brings up a very good point.
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: Let me ask, because Jack that it's a very good
- 1:37:48Speaker 2: point if he just says we didn't think we're ready
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: for the baby yet and doesn't mention that the child
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: was pre diagnosed or the you know, the chancellors were
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: very high that the child was going to be a
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: downs child. Do you think think the responses would have
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: been as hateful?
- 1:38:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I got yeah.
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: I gotta tell you though, dude, I just took to
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: pick up on what you were saying there and I
- 1:38:10Speaker 2: and I think I do think the sympathetic nature of
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: that of that situation does make it considerably worse.
- 1:38:17Speaker 4: It's a little bit different, but it's the same absolute
- 1:38:20Speaker 4: value of disdain. And you're not gonna be celebrated because
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: of your actions. Of these actions, and they shouldn't be celebrated.
- 1:38:29Speaker 10: And you can say, oh, well, this platform is I
- 1:38:33Speaker 10: share my life, so why not share this? Well, basically,
- 1:38:37Speaker 10: you've chosen to monetize and make a career out of
- 1:38:42Speaker 10: your personal life, and you're choosing to share this. Therefore,
- 1:38:45Speaker 10: you're choosing to monetize depinion, terminency, the termine, terminating a pregnance.
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: And you're choosing the digital world over the real world.
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: To me, that's what I'm here is that, like you
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: have put number one priority above your family's privacy, the
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: Internet and reaction and then and then you'd be all
- 1:39:10Speaker 4: upset when you put it out. It's like, brother, you
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: made this closet.
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: Yeah, this, he goes on to continue, this is the
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: last thing he says as part of the article. He
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: goes the reason this blew up is quite simple. It's
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: because nobody talks about it. He writes that in all caps.
- 1:39:23Speaker 2: Then he continues, I can't blame people for not talking
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: about these vulnerable experiences publicly because you see the disgusting
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: backlash that ensues. It's very divisive. Luckily, after twenty years
- 1:39:33Speaker 2: on the internet, this is par for the course for
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: me taking on the crazies. So I'm glad I can
- 1:39:37Speaker 2: further help the conversation.
- 1:39:39Speaker 9: God, this guy is so full of himself. Is there
- 1:39:42Speaker 9: any room in the room for anyone other than myself
- 1:39:45Speaker 9: and I? But he's he is right about the about it. No,
- 1:39:48Speaker 9: it's not wrong, but his tone.
- 1:39:51Speaker 10: There is no And I don't disagree with you on that,
- 1:39:54Speaker 10: But that conversation doesn't that. I just remember being in
- 1:39:58Speaker 10: the doctor's office and they explain what this test was
- 1:40:01Speaker 10: and what it would reveal, and fortunately, you know, I say,
- 1:40:05Speaker 10: fortunately for us it's negative because I wanted, you know,
- 1:40:08Speaker 10: a healthy baby, you know, So I don't mean to
- 1:40:11Speaker 10: disrespect anyone who has a down child. I think it's wonderful,
- 1:40:15Speaker 10: loving and I think maybe what they bring into your
- 1:40:19Speaker 10: life is, you know, what God intended.
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: But can we be real that nobody's really cheering when
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: that happens? Agree, I mean we could be real about that, right,
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: And I mean nobody, nobody's you know, nobody's going out
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: to eat that night if they find out they're having
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: a child with downs. It would be weird to root
- 1:40:32Speaker 2: for it.
- 1:40:32Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, yeah, And so how many people have made
- 1:40:35Speaker 10: this decision and just not said anything and you just
- 1:40:38Speaker 10: don't know about it? Yeah, but because people don't talk
- 1:40:42Speaker 10: about it to them, it's like this is like a
- 1:40:44Speaker 10: new development.
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: But how long have they been doing this test?
- 1:40:47Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:40:49Speaker 9: But it's his professorial tone. It's his I know better
- 1:40:53Speaker 9: than you. I am the gatekeeper of this discussion. It's
- 1:40:57Speaker 9: just like, sit down and shut the f up. Look
- 1:41:00Speaker 9: like you have pubic hit.
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it's hard to take any advice from someone called
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: Mick Jugger Nugget.
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: Seriously, keep your ass private and you don't have to
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: answer these kinds. And they're in their early twenties.
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: I mean, you know, life is just there's a lot
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: of people on the internet that thinks every part of
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: life should be on the internet. Every conversation should be had.
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: We should have this as a discourse or a discussion.
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: In this scenario, this is as hyper personal as it gets.
- 1:41:24Speaker 4: This stays with you and your family, Yeah, and your parents,
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: and you lean on the people that hopefully you've leaned
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: on in before, not a Facebook group.
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: And let me tell you something else. Man, can you
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: imagine if they do wind up trying again and they
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: don't and they do have a pregnancy, that doesn't show
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: that they're gonna have downs, and they have that child,
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: think about that child's legacy now, considering that this is
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: now part of the Internet stories world, and it's not
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: gonna go away. That child is going to live with this,
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: as you know, when you get to that age.
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: I just couldn't agree with deb Morris just that, and
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: even more so broader than social media is that this
- 1:42:00Speaker 4: is the side effect of the Internet and getting paid
- 1:42:03Speaker 4: for clicks and likes and like, all right, well how
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: do we write something? All right? Then you write something,
- 1:42:07Speaker 4: and then all right, how do we do something bigger
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: and better? I've been saying this for years, is like
- 1:42:10Speaker 4: how do you beat a guy getting gored by a bull? Right, So, aka,
- 1:42:15Speaker 4: this is real life then too, people we get to
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: watch this pop popcorn eat it and the callous there
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: is a sickness to that, And so I'm a little
- 1:42:25Speaker 4: worried about the trajectory of entertainment media when what you're
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: watching is real.
- 1:42:32Speaker 20: Yeah.
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: Well the other part of this that's even worse. I
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: just I say it even worse. But I just saw this.
- 1:42:36Speaker 2: I don't know that this is the case, but apparently
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: one of these people that commented on on that thread
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: was a follower of this guy, and I guess part
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: of their story arc, at least one point in their
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: life was is they went through the story of their
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: dog that had cancer and the money they had to
- 1:42:52Speaker 2: spend to save their dog from cancer. So when the commenters,
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: you know, said that, I was said, while you'll you'll
- 1:43:00Speaker 2: spend the time and money it takes to you know,
- 1:43:02Speaker 2: to save a dog from cancer. But you know, and
- 1:43:05Speaker 2: I don't know if that's a good comparison, but that
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: was mentioned in the story.
- 1:43:08Speaker 4: Yeah, if anybody out there who's trying to and listen to,
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: all four of us have kind of dealt with it.
- 1:43:13Speaker 4: We put our stuff out there. We end by going
- 1:43:16Speaker 4: my name's ross. My name's Jack, and like there's a
- 1:43:18Speaker 4: side effect and we all have our own lines of like,
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: well I'm taking.
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: That to the grave, you know.
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: And this is one of those things that it's.
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: Just such a sign of the time.
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: Yes, the sickness of the soul.
- 1:43:29Speaker 2: Somebody just said, could you imagine if they did this
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: for the clicks and none of this was actually true?
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: That's what you're talking about, right, Like, could you imagine? Well,
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: I think it would be worse some out. Yes it
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: would be. It wouldn't be, but I mean it would be.
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: It wouldn't be. Yes, it wouldn't be the first.
- 1:43:45Speaker 4: It wouldn't be the first rodeo for the Internet of
- 1:43:48Speaker 4: doing basically something in that ILK. Do you remember when
- 1:43:52Speaker 4: that one woman who got basically canceled and everyone lost
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: the internet grabbed their pitchforks because she was making their
- 1:43:59Speaker 4: kid cry, making her kid cry for this one video.
- 1:44:02Speaker 4: Oh yeah, and then all of a sudden she uploaded
- 1:44:04Speaker 4: a wrong edited version. So you saw her direct her
- 1:44:08Speaker 4: son crying.
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Oh that's yeah.
- 1:44:10Speaker 4: By like taking something. And then here's the thing. What's
- 1:44:14Speaker 4: sick is that end result they got paid more, only
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: she got caught.
- 1:44:19Speaker 9: Well, someone just texted us and said, I have a
- 1:44:21Speaker 9: child that was supposed to have down syndrome still had them. Again,
- 1:44:25Speaker 9: it's just a test, you know, I mean, but that's
- 1:44:29Speaker 9: a gamble that maybe you choose not to take.
- 1:44:31Speaker 3: But like Ross said, that should be a choice.
- 1:44:34Speaker 9: That's between the married couple, their parents, their family, their tribe,
- 1:44:38Speaker 9: and your tribe is not the internet.
- 1:44:42Speaker 10: Is the wife quoted at all in this because I mean,
- 1:44:45Speaker 10: really she's the one who bears the child, but also
- 1:44:50Speaker 10: the ultimate decision on this and has to deal with
- 1:44:53Speaker 10: the backlash of her husband, mister mcnugget's decision to make
- 1:44:57Speaker 10: it public.
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: It doesn't really look it doesn't look like she really
- 1:44:59Speaker 2: has much to offer here. It's pretty much him because
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: I mean, he is the you know, the star of
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: the channel, as mister mc juggle nuggets.
- 1:45:07Speaker 4: Internet posts all come with like first degree intention. This video,
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: I have not seen it, but I'm assuming it was edited.
- 1:45:15Speaker 4: There was an upload, there was something in final cut,
- 1:45:18Speaker 4: maybe premiere, and then there was the typing of the description,
- 1:45:21Speaker 4: and then they they hit post that like this is
- 1:45:25Speaker 4: hours of work to spread the message.
- 1:45:28Speaker 2: This isn't one of those like oops, I dropped something.
- 1:45:30Speaker 2: Do you think that they thought that they were gonna
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: look at me, looked at virtuously.
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: Do you do you think that?
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: Because I mean, I'm kind of with dead. This guy
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: sounds like a bit of a narcissistant. It kind of
- 1:45:38Speaker 2: sounds like he thought that people are gonna hop up
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: on a on a podium and clap for them making
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: this this big decision. That's kind of how it sounds.
- 1:45:45Speaker 4: You know what I thought?
- 1:45:46Speaker 15: I thought.
- 1:45:47Speaker 4: I bet you he went this is good content.
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I'd hate to hear that. That's unbelievable. Why
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: else would you post I wasn't even part of it,
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: almost didn'tknew the story just because of the sensitive nature
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: of it.
- 1:45:57Speaker 3: I mean, that's that's how That's how it hit me,
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: Like I have not even involved with this.
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: This is a radio segment story, and I almost didn't
- 1:46:04Speaker 2: do it because of the sensitivity nature of this. Comments
- 1:46:06Speaker 2: on this story, these big YouTubers, four million people, they're
- 1:46:10Speaker 2: not thinking, Oh, what's going to make me feel good
- 1:46:12Speaker 2: or bad? Like they're putting hours into these pieces of
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: content and then hitting posts. Yeah, I hope he prioritized
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: the digital world. Man, you live and die by the.
- 1:46:23Speaker 3: People, right.
- 1:46:24Speaker 10: Texter just wrote in that they had the test done
- 1:46:27Speaker 10: with her son twenty six years ago. It was a
- 1:46:30Speaker 10: positive test. I asked if she wanted to terminate the pregnancy.
- 1:46:33Speaker 10: She said no, and her son was born completely normal.
- 1:46:37Speaker 10: And she said people make decisions based on fear and
- 1:46:40Speaker 10: unreliable test.
- 1:46:41Speaker 9: And speaking of that, someone said that test is grossly inaccurate.
- 1:46:44Speaker 9: The number of people who get told they will have
- 1:46:46Speaker 9: a DOWNS child and the child ends up not having
- 1:46:48Speaker 9: that as crazy. How it depends on when you take
- 1:46:51Speaker 9: it and how you take it. Said that they had
- 1:46:54Speaker 9: two nieces we're told would be positive for DOWNS and
- 1:46:57Speaker 9: we're not.
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: Wow, all right four O seven nine one six for
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: one text US seven seven zero three one. By the way,
- 1:47:02Speaker 2: if you want to read that story in its full content,
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: it's a Fox thirty five Orlando story, So you can
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: slide right over there and click on it. I think
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: it's still up on the site right now. Let's take
- 1:47:09Speaker 2: a little break, you guys, let them up. It's time
- 1:47:10Speaker 2: for trivia. We'll do that next.
- 1:47:23Speaker 20: I was listening to your story about mister mcjugger nuggets
- 1:47:28Speaker 20: and his dilemma, and it really excuse me, it really
- 1:47:33Speaker 20: hit me hard, and my wife and I have been
- 1:47:35Speaker 20: trying to get pregnant for about a year using Avia
- 1:47:38Speaker 20: and we got pregnants. But recently genetic testing revealed our
- 1:47:44Speaker 20: son has a predisposition to male pattern baldness and uncommonly
- 1:47:48Speaker 20: rapid speech.
- 1:47:49Speaker 3: I don't know what we're gonna do.
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: I think I can say this confidently. I love our listeners,
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: ill ill timed, ill timed, sir. I do appreciate the effort,
- 1:48:02Speaker 2: ill timed.
- 1:48:04Speaker 10: We do have a lot of serious talkbacks on it,
- 1:48:08Speaker 10: but we were going into a game no.
- 1:48:10Speaker 2: At six twenty I can share those.
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: Yeah, very good. All right, welcome back to the Jim
- 1:48:13Speaker 3: Corber Show. I'm Jim.

- 1:48:33Speaker 10: what the winner today chooses. Alternately, they might take a
- 1:48:37Speaker 10: pair of tickets to see train. It's the Drops of
- 1:48:41Speaker 10: Jupiter twenty five years in the atmosphere tour at the

- 1:48:59Speaker 2: Core it is Kate. How you doing? Shut up, Frost.
- 1:49:03Speaker 3: Hey want to play a little game with us. Let's
- 1:49:06Speaker 3: do it, and let's do it.
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: Oh she knows the language. All right, Kate, this is
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: a real easy game. That a question here for you.
- 1:49:14Speaker 2: Four answers. One of these answers is not true, Ky,
- 1:49:18Speaker 2: trying to fool you. But if you can find it,
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: I will send you over to see Jack and his
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: Jackie sack and you can find something nice for yourself.
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: Are you ready?
- 1:49:24Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, let's go.
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: Here we go on this day.
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: In nineteen eighty six, American actor and filmmaker started as
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: a Disney star. He transformed himself into a serious actor.
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: He spent some time in the Tank Downy Junior. He's
- 1:49:39Speaker 2: known for being arrested and eccentric. Corey Felder. Oh Shia
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: La Buff Shya La Buff was born on this day.
- 1:49:48Speaker 2: She La Boof that's right, was born on this day.
- 1:49:50Speaker 2: Here three fun facts about Shia and one Bourbon street
- 1:49:54Speaker 2: brawl of a lie. All right, we're talking about Shia
- 1:49:58Speaker 2: labuff here, Kate. One of these is untrue?
- 1:50:01Speaker 3: Are you ready?
- 1:50:04Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 1:50:04Speaker 3: Here we go. Number one his name translated from Hebrew
- 1:50:07Speaker 3: means praise God for beef.
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: Number two. He's been arrested at least eleven times. His
- 1:50:13Speaker 2: first was for shoplifting Nike sneakers at just twelve years old. Damn.
- 1:50:18Speaker 2: Number three. He has twelve tattoos. Two of them are
- 1:50:21Speaker 2: of rapper Missy Elliott and they're on his knees. Or lastly,
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: in the w W two drama That's World War two Fury,
- 1:50:29Speaker 2: he didn't think the makeup was realistic, so he slashed
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: his face with a knife twice to create the scars.
- 1:50:35Speaker 3: Which of those is a lie?
- 1:50:40Speaker 2: Let's go cheer god, that's the one right on?
- 1:50:46Speaker 3: How old do you think he was when he was
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: arrested the first time?
- 1:50:51Speaker 23: Oh?
- 1:50:52Speaker 2: I don't know. You didn't even hear the guess all right?
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: Nine years old? He was nine years old? Oh my god,
- 1:50:59Speaker 2: you got euro winner there, Kade. Thanks for thinking about
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: it hard and getting the right handswer. Now I guess too,
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: he'll do Yeah. His dane, translated from Hebrew, does mean
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: praise God for beef. Did you name him?
- 1:51:11Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: Yeah? God. He was arrested at least eleven times.
- 1:51:14Speaker 2: He was. His first shoplifting was Nike sneakers at just
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: nine years old. Wow, he does have twelve tattoos and
- 1:51:20Speaker 2: two of them. How could you not choose that?
- 1:51:23Speaker 9: Because if you know anything about Shia, that makes sense.
- 1:51:26Speaker 9: Of all the ones, the one that makes like he
- 1:51:29Speaker 9: has twelve chest twelve.
- 1:51:33Speaker 21: True.
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: Two of them are of rapper Missy Elliott and they
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: are on his knees.
- 1:51:38Speaker 2: And then in the World War two drama Fury, he
- 1:51:40Speaker 2: did not think the makeup was realistic enough, so he
- 1:51:43Speaker 2: literally cut his own face with a knife so he
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: could have the scars and look legit. And there's more
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: to that in a second.
- 1:51:50Speaker 15: Wow.
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: Some other things about Shia Abuff that you may not know.
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: From the same movie Fury, the one where he cut
- 1:51:57Speaker 2: his face. He also went to a dentist and had
- 1:51:59Speaker 2: one of his box teeth removed. Yeah, because it was
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: true to the character as it was written in the
- 1:52:04Speaker 2: book or in the script. Damn. His father was a
- 1:52:07Speaker 2: professional clown who trained chickens for the circus.
- 1:52:11Speaker 9: Now doesn't that set it up for the Missy Elliott
- 1:52:14Speaker 9: tattoos on his knees.
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: And then, lastly here, while filming a movie, he took
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: real LSD. Now, the movie required him to like take acid,
- 1:52:24Speaker 2: but it was supposed to be just acid and he
- 1:52:26Speaker 2: was gonna act.
- 1:52:27Speaker 3: He did not do that.
- 1:52:28Speaker 2: He actually took LSD and wound up choking out the director.
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: Oh jeez, in a frenzied panic for being high on LSD.
- 1:52:37Speaker 2: Just he's got to be worked, like twenty million dollars.
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: He drives a Nissan Camering or a Toyota Camera or
- 1:52:43Speaker 2: a Nissan Maximum.
- 1:52:44Speaker 4: I hate that. I love Shia Labuff. He is a
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: millennial deity. We don't, we don't. It's not like we
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: look up to him, but we just really appreciate that.
- 1:52:55Speaker 4: He really represents like he's one of us.
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: He's authentic.
- 1:52:58Speaker 3: I don't even know.
- 1:52:59Speaker 2: I don't know anybody in old Hollywood. You can compare
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: him to maybe Brando a little bit. Brando wasn't that crazy.
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: You know why?
- 1:53:07Speaker 10: If they weren't, you wouldn't have known about it. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:53:09Speaker 10: just because of how they protected people. Yeah, back in
- 1:53:12Speaker 10: the day they did. And this guy is a maniac.
- 1:53:14Speaker 10: I can't think of anybody as destructive this cat. That's
- 1:53:17Speaker 10: an actor.
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: I mean Hunter s.
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: Thompson was pretty gnarly, you know, the fear and loathing
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: that guy. I mean, he was pretty crazy. But man,
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: not an actor like that.
- 1:53:25Speaker 4: I mean, they're like. The last interview he just had
- 1:53:28Speaker 4: was with Channel five with Andrew Callahan and he talks
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: about when he was in Britain jail Bourbon Stream. He's like, yeah, man,
- 1:53:35Speaker 4: I met a lot of good people that night, Carl, Carl.
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: I shout out to Carl. I hope Carl and his
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: wife will like really figure out what they've been going through.
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: And he's talking about someone that he was just in
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: jail with that night, and there's just this real weird,
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: down to earthness there. I remember seeing footage of him
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: wrapping at Bonnaroo, but not on stage, just in a
- 1:53:55Speaker 4: cipher with his blunt in his hand. Like he's just
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: this magic, mystical millennial man. Maybe a true artist, right,
- 1:54:01Speaker 4: because he also was in that video for that c
- 1:54:04Speaker 4: song like a dancing was it. Didn't you do a
- 1:54:07Speaker 4: version of that, like doing a performative dance. I think
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: he's interpretive dance, I should say, I think it goes
- 1:54:12Speaker 4: hard in the artist world. His performances are also good.
- 1:54:15Speaker 4: He's not a bad actor thoughts. Yes, okay, So I've
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: got good news. Are you ready for it?
- 1:54:20Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: Just saw my son and my wife laugh harder than
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: they have ever in their lives collectively as a Paget family,
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: the Paget household. There was an event that happened, and
- 1:54:34Speaker 4: then it kept happening, and it has made everyone cry
- 1:54:38Speaker 4: laugh the bad news wildly at my expense. We'll find
- 1:54:44Speaker 4: out what that is right after this on YouTube. All right,
- 1:54:54Speaker 4: welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show, Real Radio one
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: New four point one. I'm Jim, dev Jack and Rosser
- 1:54:59Speaker 4: here as well. Speaking of Ross, let's get some thoughts.
- 1:55:02Speaker 16: Fur.
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: It's weird as a Gucci man bird.
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: It's because sometimes today it's Ross.
- 1:55:10Speaker 2: It's brought to you by felled like sauce.
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: Mills Air. It's Ross thoughts, today's Ross thops is brought
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: to you by Mills Air, the greatest ac unit that
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: this side of the Mississippi legit Central Florida.
- 1:55:23Speaker 2: Listen up, it's about to get stupid.
- 1:55:25Speaker 3: Hot.
- 1:55:25Speaker 4: If it isn't already ninety every part of your body
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: will be damp. But it doesn't need to happen in
- 1:55:32Speaker 4: your own home. Call Mills. Are you gotta be proactive?
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: Make sure that the AC unit is gonna last the summer.
- 1:55:37Speaker 4: Mills Air can come over and check that out.
- 1:55:40Speaker 3: That's what I did.
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: I am a six foot two man filled with no
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: air conditioning. Regret Millsair dot com now Jim Jack dead.
- 1:55:50Speaker 4: Glorious moment this morning seeing my wife fall to her
- 1:55:54Speaker 4: knees with laughter because my son had just fallen to
- 1:55:58Speaker 4: his knees of.
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: After thads are the moments you cherish, right, loads of
- 1:56:04Speaker 2: the moments you try and remember forever. When your kid
- 1:56:06Speaker 2: laughs themselves like done, and I've laughed. I've laughed so much,
- 1:56:11Speaker 2: pure off the brick. It's uncut, not from Miami stuff.
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: And by the way, dude, that is like one of
- 1:56:19Speaker 2: the great sounds of being a human is the laughter
- 1:56:22Speaker 2: of a child, especially a baby that is just that
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: cackling laugh or they can't control themselves.
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: And there's so many little isms and cliches that people
- 1:56:31Speaker 4: who you know, when I when they found out that
- 1:56:33Speaker 4: I was going to be a dad, that have reached
- 1:56:35Speaker 4: out and told me like, uh, you know, don't some
- 1:56:38Speaker 4: things are good for far but far from good, you know,
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: like all these little colliquial what's the word cliquisms? Yeah,
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: that's fine, Okay, we'll move on, okay, but we all
- 1:56:49Speaker 4: had to take a scenic route on.
- 1:56:54Speaker 2: I love the da that Jack jumped in the archipelago,
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: Like how when Jack can't say where, it just becomes
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: a ghost.
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: They hit fifteen seconds behind. Listen to it again, it
- 1:57:05Speaker 4: was very ghost like. Where I'm going with this is
- 1:57:08Speaker 4: that I love making my family laugh. I have enjoyed it.
- 1:57:13Speaker 4: And one thing that the cliche that probably turned out
- 1:57:17Speaker 4: to be the most true was my mother in law
- 1:57:20Speaker 4: telling me, and she goes, this is so exciting.
- 1:57:23Speaker 2: You guys are just going to laugh and smile so
- 1:57:25Speaker 2: much more. And she was beyond right.
- 1:57:29Speaker 4: I just keep thinking about that simple sentence, you guys
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: are gonna laugh and smile so much more. She didn't
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: exactly describe the foundation of the laughing or the smiling,
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: because I've had some crazy person laughs throughout this whole
- 1:57:43Speaker 4: almost two years now of being a dad, and I've
- 1:57:46Speaker 4: had some crazy people person smiles, like just go to bed,
- 1:57:50Speaker 4: you know you, but a lot of times they are
- 1:57:53Speaker 4: very positive smiles. But this morning something, Man, God, I
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: don't know how I feel about this. I don't even
- 1:57:59Speaker 4: I asked Jack if I should share this, and he
- 1:58:01Speaker 4: was like, oh, yeah, dude, you gotta share that. I
- 1:58:06Speaker 4: wear pajamas. We all wear pajamas.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 1:58:10Speaker 3: Okay, go ahead, we don't all wear pajamas?
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: Do not wear pajamas.
- 1:58:13Speaker 3: I don't wear I don't wear well, what is that?
- 1:58:15Speaker 3: What do you mean you don't wear pajamas.
- 1:58:17Speaker 2: Well, we're not in a we're not the seventeen fifties
- 1:58:19Speaker 2: Dickens book.
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: So you have the butt flapping buttons? Do you think
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: I am screoge But I'm not.
- 1:58:29Speaker 3: I don't want one of those.
- 1:58:30Speaker 2: I don't have then a great acoustic duo butt flatten buttons.
- 1:58:35Speaker 4: I have pajamas. And this morning, this morning, I was
- 1:58:39Speaker 4: wearing pajamas, and I was wearing a white shirt, and
- 1:58:41Speaker 4: it honestly felt even more Americana. It felt even more
- 1:58:46Speaker 4: like Fruit of the Loom commercial, Very half of you. Yeah,
- 1:58:49Speaker 4: I just felt very Norman.
- 1:58:51Speaker 3: Yeah yeah.
- 1:58:52Speaker 4: And then my wife is wearing her pink silk pajamas.
- 1:58:57Speaker 4: All right, they they've got shapes on it, like random,
- 1:58:59Speaker 4: like you know, okay, whatever, dude, So I go ahead.
- 1:59:04Speaker 4: My son is also wearing pajamas and he's got little
- 1:59:06Speaker 4: sharks and trees on his cool that's cute pajama family.
- 1:59:12Speaker 4: Yeah right, we're all on the couch and it's truly
- 1:59:14Speaker 4: like this is the best, this is the most fulfilled.
- 1:59:17Speaker 4: I think I could feel. I go get some ice coffee,
- 1:59:20Speaker 4: and as soon as I go to get ice coffee coffee,
- 1:59:23Speaker 4: I get done. I pour the coffee and then I look, Oh,
- 1:59:26Speaker 4: my son's right there in front of me. And then
- 1:59:27Speaker 4: the first thing he does is is that he goes
- 1:59:30Speaker 4: up to like upy get picked me up. And then
- 1:59:33Speaker 4: as soon as he goes up, he picked me up.
- 1:59:35Speaker 4: His hands are also right in front of the draw
- 1:59:38Speaker 4: strings of my pajamas.
- 1:59:41Speaker 3: Right, okay, Oh he got panted by his own son.
- 1:59:44Speaker 2: And he pulls them.
- 1:59:46Speaker 4: No, and he pulls quick enough, And just how it
- 1:59:50Speaker 4: all happened so fast? Is that like it got stuck
- 1:59:55Speaker 4: on my stuff? All right?
- 1:59:58Speaker 3: And then he yanks again. This thing flops?
- 2:00:01Speaker 4: Does that happen? It has like a all of a sudden, Yeah,
- 2:00:04Speaker 4: he he pants me and all of a sudden, my
- 2:00:07Speaker 4: junk is out and it's like right there in front
- 2:00:12Speaker 4: of him, and then what happens. Little man just dies
- 2:00:17Speaker 4: of laughter.
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: Just you then laughed.
- 2:00:22Speaker 4: Couldn't be that got me? It was guess what it
- 2:00:26Speaker 4: was the flop that got him, because when he on
- 2:00:29Speaker 4: that second pole from the first pole, it got smashed
- 2:00:34Speaker 4: down the second pole, it was released. So this thing like,
- 2:00:37Speaker 4: let's smash down the little doorstop er thing. Yeah, I
- 2:00:42Speaker 4: had a little bit. And my wife she sees it,
- 2:00:47Speaker 4: sees him dropped through the floor from laughter, and everyone's
- 2:00:50Speaker 4: just laughing at my dog. Dude, I'm drigging ice coffee
- 2:00:54Speaker 4: and everyone's my son. My wife is just laughing at
- 2:00:57Speaker 4: my package. And it sucked. And I really wanted to
- 2:01:02Speaker 4: enjoy it and I really couldn't.
- 2:01:04Speaker 2: Did your son point and laugh? Dude?
- 2:01:07Speaker 3: It was bad because pointing laughing is way worse.
- 2:01:10Speaker 25: It was.
- 2:01:10Speaker 4: It was not good. And I'm also thinking like this,
- 2:01:13Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure this is illegal.
- 2:01:16Speaker 3: It's not illegal. It's just an accident.
- 2:01:21Speaker 4: And he just goes for the up and then he
- 2:01:23Speaker 4: pulls down on the draw strings.
- 2:01:25Speaker 2: I want to upgrade that drawing into a felony soon,
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: but he gonna be careful.
- 2:01:30Speaker 4: With that what I'm saying. Olivia's laughing, and I'm like,
- 2:01:33Speaker 4: this isn't funny, Like we could have stored him or something.
- 2:01:37Speaker 3: What if it's his first indelible memory, Yeah.
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: Okay instead of daddy goes you dongy.
- 2:01:43Speaker 8: Yeah, like this is not.
- 2:01:46Speaker 4: It was It was not great. And then they're on
- 2:01:48Speaker 4: the floor.
- 2:01:49Speaker 2: Olivia literally falled out.
- 2:01:51Speaker 3: He just fell out.
- 2:01:51Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 2:01:52Speaker 4: Yeah, And I've never heard my son laugh like that,
- 2:01:54Speaker 4: Like he had a different tear of like, uh, he
- 2:01:58Speaker 4: was really like trying to get air in his last.
- 2:02:02Speaker 2: Was he laughing at his mom laughing? Or was he
- 2:02:04Speaker 2: laughing genuinely at what had just happened? Does he understand
- 2:02:07Speaker 2: the value of like, you know that happening to a
- 2:02:09Speaker 2: grown man? I'll be I mean, this is what happened.
- 2:02:13Speaker 2: He didn't laugh until he saw the.
- 2:02:18Speaker 3: You're killing her. How long did it take you to read,
- 2:02:21Speaker 3: you know, to restuff the boying in quickly?
- 2:02:24Speaker 21: Yeah?
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: So he re stuffed the boying pretty quick quickly.
- 2:02:27Speaker 2: It's real fast, right, yeah, Because I mean it'd be
- 2:02:29Speaker 2: like like if you were like, yeah, like a dog
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: was gonna bite your.
- 2:02:32Speaker 3: Hands, just snatch it away real quick like that kind
- 2:02:33Speaker 3: of fast.
- 2:02:34Speaker 4: It wasn't that fast, because I couldn't believe how hard
- 2:02:37Speaker 4: he dropped to the ground, was laughed.
- 2:02:39Speaker 2: He stood there for a second, a little bit. He
- 2:02:42Speaker 2: stood there for a second.
- 2:02:42Speaker 4: I mean there was a pregnant pawn coffee. There was
- 2:02:46Speaker 4: a pregnant pause between like what has happened? Like I
- 2:02:50Speaker 4: didn't think it was that funny, and then like I
- 2:02:52Speaker 4: here's my son laughing the hardest he's ever laughed. My
- 2:02:55Speaker 4: wife laughing the hardest she's laughed in years. Yeah, and
- 2:02:59Speaker 4: I can't even joint for the wrong reason, super at
- 2:03:02Speaker 4: my expense and borderline like, oh no, that's not this
- 2:03:07Speaker 4: isn't fun.
- 2:03:07Speaker 3: That is a really weird thing to have your kid
- 2:03:10Speaker 3: experience with a memory to how many phone calls do
- 2:03:12Speaker 3: you think she made before noon? I don't know what
- 2:03:16Speaker 3: to do? And guess what pulled the pants up? Guess
- 2:03:19Speaker 3: what here he thinks this is a game?
- 2:03:20Speaker 2: Yeah again again again, So now every time I'm like, okay,
- 2:03:26Speaker 2: I think he wants me.
- 2:03:27Speaker 4: To hold him, No he does not. No, No, it's
- 2:03:31Speaker 4: not that it's flying, it's flopped time. I'm like, no, man,
- 2:03:39Speaker 4: And of course here comes my wife, heckley me going up.
- 2:03:41Speaker 4: Here comes the turkey. Yeah, she calls it the turkey,
- 2:03:46Speaker 4: and I don't either. I don't like that either.
- 2:03:51Speaker 9: We don't need to.
- 2:03:52Speaker 2: I don't like to annoyse either. That's name for your junk,
- 2:03:54Speaker 2: the turkey.
- 2:03:55Speaker 4: Which is, by the way, it's a fat bird. That's
- 2:03:59Speaker 4: a big has birds. Turkeys are big birds. They are gurthy,
- 2:04:05Speaker 4: they're big birds.
- 2:04:08Speaker 3: Turkey. I can't call it the ostrich the biggest bird
- 2:04:13Speaker 3: because they're they got.
- 2:04:14Speaker 4: Skinny necks about. Yeah, that that would work. She could
- 2:04:19Speaker 4: call it an but no, she goes turkey.
- 2:04:20Speaker 2: You guys should start a family YouTube channel for kids, uh,
- 2:04:25Speaker 2: you know, called the Pajama the Pajama Family.
- 2:04:27Speaker 4: Yeah, and then just signing to secure your age before
- 2:04:32Speaker 4: because only fans. Yeah, it is. It was an odd
- 2:04:35Speaker 4: moment seeing them laugh that hard and then like I
- 2:04:38Speaker 4: just felt like a mine because I couldn't laugh or
- 2:04:40Speaker 4: make a sound.
- 2:04:41Speaker 2: Has he brought it back up? I mean, well, he
- 2:04:48Speaker 2: can't talk, yeah, I mean he.
- 2:04:50Speaker 4: Says like eight words. The only thing he said after
- 2:04:53Speaker 4: that was caw.
- 2:04:55Speaker 3: Oh, gotta be careful with that. One call car.
- 2:04:57Speaker 2: He's saying car. Yeah, you get at a couple into
- 2:05:02Speaker 2: that and he's dead on grand call Grand call.
- 2:05:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm like, it's not green, It's not damn.
- 2:05:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 2:05:10Speaker 4: It was an odd moment, and I was just wondering
- 2:05:13Speaker 4: if you have you guys gone through that.
- 2:05:14Speaker 3: I have not gone through that. Nothing, nothing like that
- 2:05:17Speaker 3: at all. But yeah, I've never had an experience like that.
- 2:05:19Speaker 25: Now.
- 2:05:20Speaker 4: I remember when I was a kid, and I specifically remember,
- 2:05:23Speaker 4: and please don't, let's get our heads out of the gutter.
- 2:05:25Speaker 4: Let's pretend it's nineteen ninety eight, where there's at least
- 2:05:28Speaker 4: a facade of uh people having not the worst intentions
- 2:05:33Speaker 4: at every square ringe of life.
- 2:05:35Speaker 2: But I remember seeing my dad's what not You saw
- 2:05:39Speaker 2: your dad's what nots too. I never saw my dad's. Now, really, yeah,
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: I saw my mom's, but I never saw my dad's.
- 2:05:44Speaker 2: See all right, so at least it's common that you
- 2:05:47Speaker 2: you know, my mom was walking out of the I
- 2:05:49Speaker 2: went in to ask her a question and she was
- 2:05:50Speaker 2: walking out of the bathroom and she did not know
- 2:05:52Speaker 2: I was in the bedroom.
- 2:05:53Speaker 4: So it was an accident.
- 2:05:54Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, we have course. I mean, I'm not
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: there going hey mom, you know, trying to apply I'm
- 2:06:01Speaker 2: not creeping, dude. I'm just saying I'm saying I'm probably
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: like eleven years old.
- 2:06:05Speaker 4: I'm saying the nature in the situation my family was
- 2:06:08Speaker 4: like everyone.
- 2:06:09Speaker 2: Was just naked in front of each other. Yeah, oh
- 2:06:11Speaker 2: really my dad would leave the door open, no way
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: really Yeah, wow, that's wild, dude.
- 2:06:16Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:06:16Speaker 4: I saw my dad and how he went to the bathroom,
- 2:06:21Speaker 4: and that's how I found out, Like, all right, that's
- 2:06:23Speaker 4: how I learned where to stand.
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: Oh wow, that's wild, dude. I'm not you know, my
- 2:06:27Speaker 2: dad with no way ever, Like I never had any
- 2:06:30Speaker 2: idea I would that was that's that's just a pageant
- 2:06:33Speaker 2: family thing.
- 2:06:34Speaker 3: Yeah, no, no, no, I don't think that's the case.
- 2:06:36Speaker 2: There are naturalists out there, that's a matter of fact.
- 2:06:39Speaker 2: There's a famous guy, this guy who's that I think
- 2:06:41Speaker 2: either the drummer the bass player for Lynyrd Skinnard got
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: into a bunch of trouble for that very thing because
- 2:06:45Speaker 2: they were kind of naturalists and there was a kid
- 2:06:49Speaker 2: taking a shower near him or whatever, and it was
- 2:06:51Speaker 2: a massive thing, dude, a big time deal. Yeah.
- 2:06:55Speaker 3: So I mean, it does happen.
- 2:06:56Speaker 4: Can that be like the question of the day. I'm
- 2:06:58Speaker 4: not the only family that's done that, right, Like my
- 2:07:00Speaker 4: mom would just like, I.
- 2:07:02Speaker 2: Mean, we could talk about that next. I mean, I
- 2:07:04Speaker 2: don't know if the I I don't know of any
- 2:07:06Speaker 2: family where their parents just openly walked around nude when
- 2:07:09Speaker 2: I mean, how old were you and this is happening?
- 2:07:12Speaker 2: Uh six, I mean I worked for the nudest. Yeah,
- 2:07:16Speaker 2: but I mean he didn't walk around or she didn't
- 2:07:18Speaker 2: walk around with you, like right, I mean and your mom.
- 2:07:20Speaker 3: But with her family, they they were they never wore
- 2:07:24Speaker 3: clothes as a family.
- 2:07:25Speaker 4: They never knew this.
- 2:07:26Speaker 9: They played volleyball, they went camping as a family. They
- 2:07:31Speaker 9: were all newdiced.
- 2:07:31Speaker 3: That is wild.
- 2:07:33Speaker 4: And if you're just joining us, long story short. Now,
- 2:07:35Speaker 4: whenever my kid I think he wants to give me
- 2:07:38Speaker 4: a hug or I pick him up, he just wants
- 2:07:40Speaker 4: to pants me and laugh at what God gave me.
- 2:07:42Speaker 4: He wants to just laugh at where he came from.
- 2:07:46Speaker 4: And it sucks. I have feelings, dads have emotions. Mills there,
- 2:07:51Speaker 4: all right, I'm out.
- 2:07:55Speaker 2: He was so old. He's so happy to be sponsoring this.
- 2:07:58Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, all right?
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: Seven seven zero three one go to Mills Air where
- 2:08:02Speaker 2: your kid can panchi and it's long time all right?
- 2:08:05Speaker 26: Right after this church's chicken story if you play this.
- 2:08:10Speaker 26: We had that test done. My son had, according to
- 2:08:13Speaker 26: the test, had a ninety percent chance of having Down syndrome,
- 2:08:17Speaker 26: either failed or missing kidneys and deformed skull and maybe
- 2:08:23Speaker 26: not even have a heart. We went through with the pregnancy.
- 2:08:27Speaker 26: He was perfectly fine. All he had was a hereditary
- 2:08:30Speaker 26: skin disease from his mom. And come to find out
- 2:08:35Speaker 26: that the specialist who does the amniocentesis test was roommates
- 2:08:41Speaker 26: with the doctor who examined my wife at the obgyn,
- 2:08:48Speaker 26: and they had this whole scam of referring each other
- 2:08:52Speaker 26: to one another and they were making millions off of it.
- 2:08:58Speaker 26: We found out because a friend of ours terminated their
- 2:09:01Speaker 26: pregnancy when their child was probably fine.
- 2:09:04Speaker 2: Oh, unbelievable.
- 2:09:07Speaker 25: I think it all boils down to how you feel
- 2:09:10Speaker 25: about abortion. And I'm kind of surprised about Nell's attitudes
- 2:09:14Speaker 25: about this because I thought you're a little more open minded,
- 2:09:16Speaker 25: not that I think he's or pro abortion, but that
- 2:09:19Speaker 25: you would just let someone else think how they thought.
- 2:09:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I don't.
- 2:09:28Speaker 10: Well, no, I I do have something to say about
- 2:09:31Speaker 10: that is because it wasn't about their decision, It was
- 2:09:36Speaker 10: about them making their decision public. In that forum on
- 2:09:41Speaker 10: a platform that he uses to generate revenue by gaining
- 2:09:46Speaker 10: followers and entertaining people.
- 2:09:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and some people it actually even people the texting
- 2:09:49Speaker 2: service said, hey, man, let the guy live his life
- 2:09:51Speaker 2: if that's what he wants to do. I mean, and
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: again we brought the story up because it is hyper
- 2:09:55Speaker 2: sensitive and he did get handled online. But you know,
- 2:09:58Speaker 2: it is his life and he wants to do with
- 2:09:59Speaker 2: that after the fact.
- 2:10:01Speaker 21: Yea.
- 2:10:01Speaker 10: And to my point, it was that where I agree
- 2:10:05Speaker 10: with him is it's something that doesn't get talked about
- 2:10:08Speaker 10: about the decision you make if you get that positive
- 2:10:11Speaker 10: test for a down syndrome child.
- 2:10:14Speaker 2: All right four seven ninete six four one text us
- 2:10:16Speaker 2: seven seven zero three one. I'm Jim, there's dev Hello Jack,
- 2:10:19Speaker 2: Yo and Ross and by the way, on your Ross thoughts.
- 2:10:24Speaker 2: We had a number of texts for people that said
- 2:10:25Speaker 2: that their parents walk around nude all the time.
- 2:10:27Speaker 4: Dah, dude, I saw both of my mom and dad
- 2:10:30Speaker 4: naked for years. Yeah, it says in kindergarten. Living in Albuquerque,
- 2:10:35Speaker 4: one of my friends lived down the street. Her mom
- 2:10:36Speaker 4: not only walked around their house topless, but had a
- 2:10:39Speaker 4: monkey that she carried around.
- 2:10:40Speaker 3: Who found it quite comfortable. I don't know what the hell.
- 2:10:45Speaker 2: Both my parents walked around nude whenever. Even as adult,
- 2:10:48Speaker 2: I saw them just a body, No big deal. So
- 2:10:52Speaker 2: just a body means you've been seeing them naked for
- 2:10:54Speaker 2: a while. Yeah, again, I can only I can only
- 2:10:58Speaker 2: alken this to going to a when we went to
- 2:11:01Speaker 2: the Jamaica, to that resort where it you can be nude.
- 2:11:05Speaker 3: Right, yeah, but that was more sex.
- 2:11:07Speaker 2: Field was sure. Sure. But even then, matter of fact,
- 2:11:09Speaker 2: I think that even makes the point more solid is
- 2:11:11Speaker 2: the fact that you know when you get there, you're like,
- 2:11:14Speaker 2: oh my god, I'm gonna spend seven days on an
- 2:11:15Speaker 2: island and people are gonna be doing crazy stuff all
- 2:11:17Speaker 2: around you. It's gonna be naked all the time. Man,
- 2:11:20Speaker 2: after day two, you don't even you don't even notice.
- 2:11:22Speaker 2: You're wondering when the volleyball game starts. I mean, I'm
- 2:11:24Speaker 2: serious as a heart attack it it it volleyball game,
- 2:11:28Speaker 2: A lot of fun.
- 2:11:29Speaker 3: Now, I gotta sala. Tennis is the one you're really
- 2:11:32Speaker 3: that that'll change it.
- 2:11:33Speaker 2: It loses its novelty so quickly, and you do say, hey,
- 2:11:36Speaker 2: it's just a body, and you do realize, I mean,
- 2:11:38Speaker 2: it really is just a body. But in that same sense,
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: it is kind of wild to see everyone walking around
- 2:11:43Speaker 2: without clothes. But again, after a couple after a couple
- 2:11:46Speaker 2: of days, it really wasn't that big of a deal.
- 2:11:48Speaker 2: You just didn't really pay attention to it much. You're
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: really kind of onto your end of your own thing.
- 2:11:52Speaker 3: My first live radio broadcast ever, was it Cyprus Co.
- 2:11:56Speaker 9: Yeah, and it You know, the resonance is one thing, right,
- 2:12:00Speaker 9: you know, but it's when you give tickets away and
- 2:12:03Speaker 9: the deal is you have to come in and strip
- 2:12:05Speaker 9: in front of one of us.
- 2:12:06Speaker 3: Right right right? Oh? Really?
- 2:12:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah?
- 2:12:09Speaker 3: The studio yeah, oh my goodness.
- 2:12:11Speaker 2: We were on site.
- 2:12:12Speaker 3: It was my broadcast a cypress cove.
- 2:12:14Speaker 9: And then we had other listeners who joined us and
- 2:12:17Speaker 9: dropped trow and decided to just talk with us as
- 2:12:19Speaker 9: they were nothing at all.
- 2:12:20Speaker 3: Wow, well, Rosh, you've done stand up out there or
- 2:12:22Speaker 3: at the newest colony of you?
- 2:12:24Speaker 5: Not?
- 2:12:24Speaker 15: All right?
- 2:12:25Speaker 3: You you've done stand up in front of naked people,
- 2:12:27Speaker 3: have you not?
- 2:12:27Speaker 4: I just that's how I picture them. So they all
- 2:12:29Speaker 4: looked no, I yeah I did.
- 2:12:34Speaker 24: Yeah, I know.
- 2:12:35Speaker 3: Resort, Yeah, I remember you tell me about it.
- 2:12:37Speaker 4: I was a swingers resort and that was definitely sex
- 2:12:40Speaker 4: fueled and it was awesome.
- 2:12:41Speaker 3: It was wild. Sorry, can we dump that?
- 2:12:44Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 2:12:44Speaker 4: H no, No, it was really cool. It was just
- 2:12:48Speaker 4: you're right. The first ten minutes, I'm like, this is nuts,
- 2:12:51Speaker 4: and then literallyally and then by the end of the night,
- 2:12:54Speaker 4: I kind of found myself appreciating people, not caring what
- 2:12:58Speaker 4: other people thought, and it's it was a breadth of
- 2:13:01Speaker 4: fresh air. And did I watch two people make love
- 2:13:04Speaker 4: through a hotel window?
- 2:13:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 2:13:05Speaker 3: I did a little bit. I wasn't weird and alone,
- 2:13:09Speaker 3: I was with an other.
- 2:13:10Speaker 2: Group of people. And for the record, when you're at
- 2:13:12Speaker 2: this place I was telling you about earlier, you can't
- 2:13:15Speaker 2: stay clothed and go over there's a nude and prude section.
- 2:13:19Speaker 2: So the prude section means you just want to be
- 2:13:21Speaker 2: topless or something like that, or you still want to
- 2:13:22Speaker 2: take your clothes off at all, you want to be
- 2:13:24Speaker 2: in a bathing suit. But the nude section, if you
- 2:13:25Speaker 2: go to that section, you have to be nude. You
- 2:13:28Speaker 2: can't go over there in your bathing suit and just
- 2:13:30Speaker 2: you know, and treat it like a peep show. You
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: have to be in the game as well. And when
- 2:13:34Speaker 2: you do it again, when you do it a couple
- 2:13:35Speaker 2: of times you realize, like nobody's looking at you, like
- 2:13:37Speaker 2: nobody's gawking at you, nobody's you know, questioning your size
- 2:13:42Speaker 2: or any of that stuff. There's none of that stuff, Like,
- 2:13:45Speaker 2: none of it at all. It's wild.
- 2:13:46Speaker 4: The last time I was there, I'm not gonna lie there.
- 2:13:49Speaker 4: You see, let's just say maybe not the most modelesque people,
- 2:13:52Speaker 4: oh never. But the last time I was there, I
- 2:13:55Speaker 4: thought it was so I don't want to say it
- 2:13:57Speaker 4: was so odd, but they stuck out, the pro ing
- 2:14:00Speaker 4: and prom king of this resort. They were just very
- 2:14:03Speaker 4: attractive people. Yeah, and they just stuck out. Yeah, and
- 2:14:08Speaker 4: then everyone else was like a moth to flesh.
- 2:14:10Speaker 2: Well, this place, the place we were at, is a
- 2:14:12Speaker 2: place that used to actually host big time parties for Playboy,
- 2:14:16Speaker 2: for the Playboy Channel when the Playboy Channel was a
- 2:14:18Speaker 2: big thing still back in the day. You know, that's
- 2:14:20Speaker 2: where they would go and have their gigantic global party.
- 2:14:23Speaker 2: So like, this place had plenty of talent, if that's
- 2:14:26Speaker 2: what you want to call it or whatever. That that
- 2:14:27Speaker 2: never was the issue again, you it didn't, and it
- 2:14:30Speaker 2: didn't really matter if the person was like a four
- 2:14:33Speaker 2: or an eight. You just didn't care anymore. Oh yeah,
- 2:14:36Speaker 2: but you can have somebody walk right by you. There
- 2:14:37Speaker 2: would be a dime and you didn't even pay attention.
- 2:14:39Speaker 2: You were wondering what the buffet had that day. You
- 2:14:42Speaker 2: just you just stopped giving it. Oh almost, whoa, whoa, I.
- 2:14:45Speaker 4: Didn't, I didn't didn't say it. But this topic, guy,
- 2:14:47Speaker 4: you go, you just just stopped.
- 2:14:49Speaker 3: Caring about it.
- 2:14:50Speaker 4: You know, the blood is flowing?
- 2:14:53Speaker 2: Interesting jimsy bill all right? Four seven nine four one
- 2:14:56Speaker 2: text us seven seven zero three one. H So I
- 2:15:00Speaker 2: saw this other story today. We'll do this real quick
- 2:15:02Speaker 2: before we get out of here. I got a few
- 2:15:03Speaker 2: minutes to talk about this. Uh, there's a story about
- 2:15:05Speaker 2: a guy who sings for a band called bear Tooth.
- 2:15:07Speaker 2: Have you ever heard the band bear Tooth?
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: Love them? Caleb Schmoe is the guy's name, or show
- 2:15:13Speaker 3: Moo was being honest.
- 2:15:17Speaker 4: You know, it's really hard to speak and understand your jest.
- 2:15:21Speaker 4: So do we have any bear Tooth in their jack?
- 2:15:23Speaker 4: I mean we can't play it anyway, can't we?
- 2:15:25Speaker 21: Yea?
- 2:15:26Speaker 3: Yeah, looks yeah, there's no bear to you.
- 2:15:31Speaker 2: No, you don't know they're playing on jar r R.
- 2:15:32Speaker 2: It's it seemed data base. You are one correct. I
- 2:15:36Speaker 2: do not know what the airplay. Yeah bear, yeah, traditional spelling.
- 2:15:40Speaker 2: I would play exactly like that. Oh my god, no space,
- 2:15:43Speaker 2: you have a ton of bear tooth. That's no way
- 2:15:46Speaker 2: play a bar tooth song. So we can get an
- 2:15:47Speaker 2: idea what a Beartooth song sounds like. And then this
- 2:15:50Speaker 2: gets bounced from the podcast. Yeah no, well don't do
- 2:15:52Speaker 2: it then whatever. Okay, So anyways I can't. I can,
- 2:15:55Speaker 2: but then we segment wouldn't be part of the show. Yeah, well,
- 2:15:59Speaker 2: I mean, here's here's the deal. Beartooth singer Caleb Shomo
- 2:16:02Speaker 2: is opening up about a difficult process he's had to
- 2:16:05Speaker 2: go through. He's been married to his wife now for
- 2:16:07Speaker 2: fourteen years, and he came out to her just the
- 2:16:12Speaker 2: other day. Oh my yeah, he's been married to her
- 2:16:15Speaker 2: for fourteen years, and he announced to his wife and
- 2:16:19Speaker 2: had a tough talk and he said that he told
- 2:16:22Speaker 2: him that she she he told her that he was gay,
- 2:16:26Speaker 2: and and it was you know, it was really The
- 2:16:28Speaker 2: thing is is I when I saw the story, there's
- 2:16:31Speaker 2: a bit of sympathy that goes there because you know there,
- 2:16:34Speaker 2: you know, there was an internal fight. You know, he
- 2:16:36Speaker 2: was trying to kind of maybe fight the idea that
- 2:16:38Speaker 2: his natural self was attracted to men, but he was
- 2:16:41Speaker 2: married and his wife took it very difficult. She said
- 2:16:43Speaker 2: that she was balling her eyes out, she was trying
- 2:16:45Speaker 2: to hide hard to or. He was trying to verbalize
- 2:16:48Speaker 2: how he felt, but he was so upset because he
- 2:16:51Speaker 2: realized what effect it was going to have on her,
- 2:16:54Speaker 2: that he could barely get it out. Did they have children?
- 2:16:56Speaker 2: I didn't say. If they have kids, I don't think
- 2:16:58Speaker 2: they do. Fourteen years of man marriage says it was
- 2:17:01Speaker 2: wonderful and full and so much fun. Nobody will know
- 2:17:04Speaker 2: anything about our marriage like we do. No one can
- 2:17:06Speaker 2: ever truly know what depths of love exist between two
- 2:17:08Speaker 2: people unless they're married. Our story was a good one,
- 2:17:11Speaker 2: and now it's done.
- 2:17:14Speaker 4: Speaking on a podcast, sod Of changes the band's name
- 2:17:17Speaker 4: though a little bit right. How you figure Bear Tooth?
- 2:17:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, twin tooth, No stop, I'm just saying.
- 2:17:24Speaker 3: Well.
- 2:17:25Speaker 2: Bear is also big in the gig community, he said.
- 2:17:27Speaker 2: He says, oh yeah, yeah, you're funny, all right, He says, Uh.
- 2:17:30Speaker 2: There was a mixed reaction from the fans. Some people
- 2:17:32Speaker 2: are here for it, some people are not.
- 2:17:35Speaker 16: Uh.
- 2:17:35Speaker 2: He founded the band in twenty twelve, they put out
- 2:17:37Speaker 2: five studio albums, with a new one called Pure Ecstasy,
- 2:17:40Speaker 2: which is going to drop in August. Oh, we should
- 2:17:42Speaker 2: have seen it coming.
- 2:17:43Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:17:44Speaker 3: Did you ever know anybody who had to live in
- 2:17:45Speaker 3: a closet like that? I did?
- 2:17:46Speaker 2: Yeah, multiple people.
- 2:17:47Speaker 3: Really, Yeah, I actually know a data three. Oh really yeah.
- 2:17:51Speaker 2: Yeah. He came out and left his family.
- 2:17:54Speaker 4: Well, I mean he didn't leave his family, but he
- 2:17:57Speaker 4: left his wife. His wife yea, they he had. I
- 2:18:01Speaker 4: think they're still in coordination and they communicate.
- 2:18:03Speaker 2: I would think that this guy had it the easiest
- 2:18:06Speaker 2: because it doesn't say anything about them having children.
- 2:18:08Speaker 3: I do not believe they do.
- 2:18:09Speaker 2: I would think, you know, if you're coming out and
- 2:18:11Speaker 2: you've been married for a while and you have kids,
- 2:18:13Speaker 2: that that would be the most difficult thing to explain
- 2:18:16Speaker 2: to kids, especially if they're you know, younger, That would
- 2:18:19Speaker 2: be very difficult. I mean, divorce in general is brutal.
- 2:18:22Speaker 2: I mean just there's nothing in the world like it,
- 2:18:24Speaker 2: but having to explain why and that being the case
- 2:18:27Speaker 2: would be unbelievably wild.
- 2:18:29Speaker 4: I think worst case scenario when it comes to that
- 2:18:33Speaker 4: situation is say that you meet when you're twenty five
- 2:18:36Speaker 4: and then you are forty or you're you know, the
- 2:18:39Speaker 4: time is closing on maybe your life schedule of having kids,
- 2:18:43Speaker 4: and then you just spend fifteen years with somebody who
- 2:18:46Speaker 4: you never had a chance of having kids with and
- 2:18:49Speaker 4: you just found out right there at.
- 2:18:50Speaker 2: The end, right Yeah, and you can't get those years back. Yeah,
- 2:18:53Speaker 2: she's still in her mid thirty so you know, I mean,
- 2:18:55Speaker 2: theoretically she could still have a family. But I know
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: exactly what you're saying. I spent fourteen years and those
- 2:19:00Speaker 2: affected to somebody and you realize you don't know them,
- 2:19:03Speaker 2: You didn't know them at all.
- 2:19:04Speaker 3: And he might not have known himself. But still, well
- 2:19:06Speaker 3: he talks about it.
- 2:19:07Speaker 2: He does not going into the shower and being in
- 2:19:09Speaker 2: the shower and having literally nervous breakdowns in the shower
- 2:19:12Speaker 2: because he didn't know what to do. He loved his wife,
- 2:19:15Speaker 2: he loves her as a human being, but you know,
- 2:19:17Speaker 2: when it comes to his sexuality, he did not have
- 2:19:20Speaker 2: that same kind of connection. Yeah, it's it's a bummer.
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: I'm fully known one person in my entire life. It
- 2:19:27Speaker 2: was a girl years and years ago, back in the
- 2:19:29Speaker 2: late nineties that was that was dating actually a member
- 2:19:33Speaker 2: of the show of the Monsters, at the time, and
- 2:19:37Speaker 2: they dated for probably I want to say, a year
- 2:19:38Speaker 2: or so, and she just basically said, hey, look, I
- 2:19:41Speaker 2: just wan't let you know. I'm a lesbian and you're great,
- 2:19:45Speaker 2: and I think you're awesome, but yeah, I just discovered
- 2:19:49Speaker 2: this alf this about myself recently, and I'm moving toward
- 2:19:51Speaker 2: that that world.
- 2:19:53Speaker 4: I know, if I'm a wife and this is not coming,
- 2:19:55Speaker 4: it's going to be hard to really convince anybody. But
- 2:19:58Speaker 4: it's not from a place of home phobia. But if
- 2:20:00Speaker 4: I was that wife, you're just heartbroke and you're so pissed,
- 2:20:04Speaker 4: how would you not be mad at Because.
- 2:20:07Speaker 2: He's not known that he didn't just figure this out. Yeah, well,
- 2:20:11Speaker 2: or maybe he did he thought he could marry it away.
- 2:20:14Speaker 4: It's just that journey from what I gathered because I
- 2:20:18Speaker 4: have a lot of gay homies and I have talked
- 2:20:20Speaker 4: to them about their journey, and that's exactly what it is.
- 2:20:24Speaker 4: It's a very hyper personal Sometimes it takes two years,
- 2:20:27Speaker 4: sometimes it takes fifteen. It might happen, you know, in
- 2:20:30Speaker 4: twenty years of trying to come to grips, especially when
- 2:20:33Speaker 4: you're surroundings maybe your upbringing, a church or two saying
- 2:20:38Speaker 4: that this is bad.
- 2:20:39Speaker 2: This is bad.
- 2:20:39Speaker 4: You can't feel this way.
- 2:20:41Speaker 3: It is sin.
- 2:20:42Speaker 4: So then you can just stomach and suppress and compartmentalize,
- 2:20:45Speaker 4: and then next thing, you know, twenty five years just
- 2:20:48Speaker 4: went by.
- 2:20:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:20:49Speaker 2: He said he never reached out to anybody to have
- 2:20:51Speaker 2: an experience. He never did anything, He never cheated on
- 2:20:54Speaker 2: his wife. He just felt inside that's who he was.
- 2:20:57Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, on the podcast, he said,
- 2:20:59Speaker 2: there's someone else in there who was the real me,
- 2:21:02Speaker 2: all right, So he created a facade of a you know,
- 2:21:05Speaker 2: I think you could probably say Rob Halford from Judas
- 2:21:08Speaker 2: Priest did this very thing, or Caitlyn Jenner. Yeah, I
- 2:21:11Speaker 2: had to create a facade of this, you know, manly,
- 2:21:15Speaker 2: heavy metal singing kind of guy. And then we find
- 2:21:17Speaker 2: out down the road he's gay, and you lose your
- 2:21:19Speaker 2: mind if you're an old Judas Priest fan, because you know,
- 2:21:21Speaker 2: that's like one of the last things you would ever
- 2:21:23Speaker 2: think the band.
- 2:21:24Speaker 3: I was shocked when I found that out.
- 2:21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, the band knew the entire time. I mean, Freddy
- 2:21:28Speaker 2: Mercury was no. I mean, that was a guessing game there,
- 2:21:30Speaker 2: but I knew Freddy was there. Hot take. Maybe this
- 2:21:34Speaker 2: makes me a monster.
- 2:21:35Speaker 4: I wish he would have had an experience with the
- 2:21:37Speaker 4: man before pulling that that decision. Yeah, is that weird now,
- 2:21:41Speaker 4: because that's also that's rooting for infidelity and that's rooting
- 2:21:44Speaker 4: for an affair.
- 2:21:45Speaker 3: I think that's a little weird.
- 2:21:46Speaker 2: But it's also if you think about it, yeah.
- 2:21:50Speaker 4: Exactly, it's the last test you haven't even tried.
- 2:21:54Speaker 9: I mean, because you might not like you, you might
- 2:21:56Speaker 9: not like you, you might not like it. I mean,
- 2:21:59Speaker 9: and it's been fourteen years. Maybe you could like just
- 2:22:02Speaker 9: sit down and discuss it with her and be like,
- 2:22:04Speaker 9: maybe we could come up with an alternative plan. Maybe
- 2:22:06Speaker 9: we could come up with a form of marriage that
- 2:22:09Speaker 9: works for this situation.
- 2:22:11Speaker 2: So you want him to be able to test drive
- 2:22:12Speaker 2: a thirty five year old genector? I mean, I mean,
- 2:22:14Speaker 2: or you know, you know what I'm saying.
- 2:22:15Speaker 9: I always learned what Granny Chasers was the other day.
- 2:22:18Speaker 9: I'm still had my world rock by that.
- 2:22:19Speaker 2: So what you're saying is you would want the why
- 2:22:21Speaker 2: you got or would you want him to do it
- 2:22:23Speaker 2: without his wife's knowledge, or would you want him to
- 2:22:25Speaker 2: be honest and say, hey, look, I think this is
- 2:22:27Speaker 2: something I need to explore because I'm not a hundred
- 2:22:29Speaker 2: on this. I mean, there's no way you can tell
- 2:22:31Speaker 2: her that, right because she's gonna give you the ultimatum
- 2:22:33Speaker 2: at that point.
- 2:22:34Speaker 3: Right. She may or may not, but I think it's
- 2:22:36Speaker 3: an option.
- 2:22:37Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:22:37Speaker 10: To Deb's point, it should be something he should share
- 2:22:40Speaker 10: with her. It undoubtedly affects her, so where they go
- 2:22:45Speaker 10: from there, and it might not be splitting up. There
- 2:22:48Speaker 10: are couples out there who have arrangements in their marriage.
- 2:22:53Speaker 10: Most we just don't know about him, right, so they
- 2:22:56Speaker 10: don't YouTube it exactly exactly.
- 2:22:58Speaker 2: It's a different generation. There's a number of people already
- 2:23:01Speaker 2: texting in I'm struggling with that right now. Sixteen years
- 2:23:04Speaker 2: of marriage, three children, bisexual. Then somebody else says, guy,
- 2:23:07Speaker 2: my frad did that had a wife and a kid.
- 2:23:09Speaker 2: I noticed on the social media posts he's now got
- 2:23:11Speaker 2: a boyfriend.
- 2:23:12Speaker 20: You know.
- 2:23:12Speaker 9: It's it's it's really heartbreaking though, because I worked with
- 2:23:16Speaker 9: somebody at the theme park who just wouldn't accept himself
- 2:23:19Speaker 9: for who he was. Everybody around him knew, and he
- 2:23:22Speaker 9: still tried to date the girls that we worked with,
- 2:23:24Speaker 9: and he still tried to put on the facade, and
- 2:23:26Speaker 9: we were all like, dude, just be who you are.
- 2:23:29Speaker 9: Man because we already know that you are not hiding
- 2:23:32Speaker 9: this from anybody.
- 2:23:35Speaker 2: And when he let it go, he.
- 2:23:38Speaker 9: Became fabulous, sassy huh, because he finally lived in his
- 2:23:42Speaker 9: own truth.
- 2:23:43Speaker 3: You and I have talked about this before.
- 2:23:45Speaker 9: Imagine what life would have been like if John Wayne
- 2:23:47Speaker 9: Gacy was just allowed to be the man that he was.
- 2:23:49Speaker 9: Y yeah, yeah, yeah, his father didn't try to beat
- 2:23:52Speaker 9: the gay out of him. Think of the man he
- 2:23:53Speaker 9: could have become instead of one of the worst serial
- 2:23:56Speaker 9: killers we've ever known.
- 2:23:57Speaker 2: All right, four seven nine four one text us as
- 2:24:00Speaker 2: Evan seven zero three one. Deb got some news for
- 2:24:02Speaker 2: us well.
- 2:24:02Speaker 9: Prosecutors say that Palisades fire arson suspects motive is this
- 2:24:07Speaker 9: who Florida's Attorney General says is behind teen takeovers and
- 2:24:11Speaker 9: what he's willing to do to stop them, and want
- 2:24:15Speaker 9: to make a bet.
- 2:24:16Speaker 3: There's a new rule at Kalshe we'll talk about that
- 2:24:19Speaker 3: next during you heard it here.
- 2:24:20Speaker 2: First, take a little break. We'll come back and get
- 2:24:22Speaker 2: DEBS news and get the hell out of here on
- 2:24:23Speaker 2: a Thursday.
- 2:24:30Speaker 5: Actually, it was kind of the worst ketch secret that
- 2:24:33Speaker 5: Rob Halford was gay. Everybody knew he was gay, He
- 2:24:36Speaker 5: just never came out and said it publicly. But he
- 2:24:40Speaker 5: also dressed like that because of all the gay leather
- 2:24:43Speaker 5: shops he would go to. He would find stuff to
- 2:24:46Speaker 5: wear on stage, and that's how he would express his sexuality.
- 2:24:49Speaker 5: It really had nothing to do with him wanting to
- 2:24:50Speaker 5: feel more manly. It was that was the way he
- 2:24:52Speaker 5: expressed his sexuality.
- 2:24:54Speaker 3: The band hated it.
- 2:24:55Speaker 24: Really, I'm just saying Devil's threesome probably fixes it, showing
- 2:25:00Speaker 24: where he is, you know he might be by Yeah. Anyways,
- 2:25:04Speaker 24: did you guys talk about the Texas tech player that
- 2:25:07Speaker 24: is messing stuff up because he bet like nine thousand
- 2:25:10Speaker 24: times in his quarterback Indiana and that he Pete Rose himself,
- 2:25:16Speaker 24: but worse than Pete Rose.
- 2:25:19Speaker 3: Did you know about that?
- 2:25:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I know about it. We just haven't talked
- 2:25:22Speaker 2: about it. It's a sports story and it's about gambling
- 2:25:24Speaker 2: and stuff, and I just didn't know how interesting it
- 2:25:26Speaker 2: would be for the greater group, the greater size of
- 2:25:29Speaker 2: our audience.
- 2:25:30Speaker 3: This one is about ross thoughts.
- 2:25:32Speaker 8: Russ.
- 2:25:32Speaker 2: I'm gonnasy to take this whole thing and create your
- 2:25:35Speaker 2: own version of mc hammers.
- 2:25:37Speaker 8: You can't touch this because stop flappy.
- 2:25:39Speaker 5: Time, okay, judging by Deb's laughter, it was the flop
- 2:25:45Speaker 5: that got me. Should be the new show title.
- 2:25:47Speaker 3: I'm a victim here you are.
- 2:25:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you something. I usually hate people and
- 2:25:52Speaker 2: say that, but like a lot of victim, I've been
- 2:25:54Speaker 2: You've been wronged.
- 2:25:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and it's your son, your son? Well, actually, you
- 2:25:57Speaker 3: know what can I tell you?
- 2:25:58Speaker 2: I think your wife is as big a culprit as
- 2:26:00Speaker 2: he is, because her laughing just fuels on yep, him
- 2:26:04Speaker 2: laughing more.
- 2:26:05Speaker 3: She is verifying that what he saw is funny.
- 2:26:08Speaker 4: She's making gobble noises. This isn't funny. None of this
- 2:26:12Speaker 4: is funny. Don't gobble at my genitalia. Do you guys
- 2:26:14Speaker 4: have cameras inside your house? Thank you God?
- 2:26:17Speaker 2: No, you guys have any security cameras?
- 2:26:20Speaker 4: Or maybe I do?
- 2:26:21Speaker 2: Oh what's the right answer to say publicly? Yeah, I'm
- 2:26:25Speaker 2: noncommitted a lot.
- 2:26:26Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I got cameras and I also got turrets.

- 2:27:04Speaker 2: have one more element, but it's a piece of cake
- 2:27:06Speaker 2: that is a trip to Goodwill in five seconds of time.

- 2:29:01Speaker 9: Federal prosecutors say the Palisades Fire arson suspect in California
- 2:29:05Speaker 9: wanted revenge on society. On Wednesday, opening statements were delivered
