- 3:09Speaker 7: We we've we've had a nice gap in between episodes.
- 3:14Speaker 7: By god, so much has happened since since our last
- 3:17Speaker 7: episode and professional wrestling. A lot of title changes, yeah,
- 3:25Speaker 7: a lot of title changes. But we'll get to that.
- 3:27Speaker 7: Let's bring in our other co host and we will
- 3:30Speaker 7: definitely talk about that.
- 3:45Speaker 3: M hm.
- 3:54Speaker 7: H m hmmm. Welcome back to.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Trey Yo, Yo, what a do PCW crew.
- 4:17Speaker 7: Man, I'm in my head, I'm going whoop that Trey,
- 4:21Speaker 7: whoop that Drey. I was like, I'm just feeling it. Yeah,
- 4:32Speaker 7: what's that?
- 4:34Speaker 2: I said? That's gonna be some kind of cultural appropriation.
- 4:36Speaker 6: Right, so and so close to Martin Luther King dates Damn.
- 4:46Speaker 7: Starting the part podcast off pretty rough. Welcome twenty six man,
- 4:52Speaker 7: how is your guys brain?
- 4:54Speaker 3: Well, you get a pass if you've seen the movie
- 4:56Speaker 3: that inspired that chat in the first place, and that
- 4:59Speaker 3: would be the Terrence Howard Oscar nominated film Hustle and Flow.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yes, and it's all these points. If you know the
- 5:08Speaker 2: Travis Howard is eight fucking Terrence Tower. Rather, it is
- 5:11Speaker 2: a lunatic.
- 5:15Speaker 7: Drey, what do you what do you eat?
- 5:17Speaker 2: The only person to know?
- 5:19Speaker 3: Oh, no, the man has said some wild stuff?
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah? You sure?
- 5:29Speaker 7: What are you eating? Dre uh?
- 5:33Speaker 3: Tonight? I'm doing Mission Barbecue?
- 5:35Speaker 7: Mission Barbecue?
- 5:37Speaker 3: Nice?
- 5:37Speaker 7: What'd you get from Mission Barbecue? Come on?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Be a sponsor? Come on, right? Commercials that place plate?
- 5:52Speaker 3: Yeah, just a sausage, just some mac and cheese and fries.
- 5:54Speaker 7: Nice. So, guys, it feels like everything in the world
- 6:02Speaker 7: is right in professional wrestling and and I mean I
- 6:07Speaker 7: was able to wake up and and have CM punk
- 6:10Speaker 7: as our world champion and Drew McIntyre as our w
- 6:14Speaker 7: W champion. Becky Lynch is our i C champion. I mean, hey, hey, hey, we.
- 6:25Speaker 6: Got the WEA and E.
- 6:30Speaker 7: Or the new women's tag champions. I mean, doesn't it
- 6:33Speaker 7: feel like everything's right in the world? Not yet, man,
- 6:40Speaker 7: not yet, not yet. But you know, nursing that finger injury,
- 6:46Speaker 7: you know, how.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Did they didn't? The women's US title just changed again too.
- 6:55Speaker 7: Yeah, but like, yeah, I guess you're right, like a
- 7:00Speaker 7: back to Julia, right, Yeah, it's back to Julia. But
- 7:04Speaker 7: I guess i'd like the chase for Chelsea, right, and
- 7:07Speaker 7: it makes her a multiple time United States champion already
- 7:13Speaker 7: her angel. Yeah. So, and we got Jade Cargo out
- 7:22Speaker 7: there hurting people, you know, taking them off live events,
- 7:26Speaker 7: taking uh hey, guys, did you know uh, well, you know,
- 7:33Speaker 7: fuck it. We'll go in into it before we get
- 7:34Speaker 7: in the Slammyes powerhouse. Hobbs a W free agent. What
- 7:41Speaker 7: do you what do you guys? Thirty four years old,
- 7:44Speaker 7: six foot one and seventy pounds, what can w W do?
- 7:51Speaker 2: A little young for W.
- 7:55Speaker 6: Yeah, break a little young to get up in his
- 7:59Speaker 6: forties before now, I've always been a big fan of
- 8:01Speaker 6: this kid, you know.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I think he's been one of those dudes and just
- 8:08Speaker 2: I was missing something.
- 8:09Speaker 6: I'm not sure what, And I don't feel like I
- 8:13Speaker 6: feel like AW does a great job with people that
- 8:16Speaker 6: are already established, you know, and maybe enhancing those people,
- 8:20Speaker 6: but I don't think they do a great job with
- 8:22Speaker 6: developing and well look at here we have NXC and
- 8:27Speaker 6: which it suddenly needs a huge infusion of people, especially
- 8:32Speaker 6: big people. So I think I think he has a
- 8:35Speaker 6: great chance to succeed, especially throw him an NXC for.
- 8:39Speaker 3: A year or two.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I think he's a great chance to succeed. I'm looking
- 8:43Speaker 2: forward to seeing how trip Late's gonna fuck this up.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I would say my my immediate thought on
- 8:51Speaker 3: hearing this news was that NXT can't wait to have
- 8:54Speaker 3: him because they need him right about now after getting
- 8:59Speaker 3: their roster.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Freaking that's the whole point of that XC, isn't it exactly?
- 9:06Speaker 3: Which is crazy because like I see people online getting
- 9:10Speaker 3: upset about it, like too many call ups, all this stuff. Man,
- 9:13Speaker 3: the NeXT's gonna suck. Now they don't have anybody left now,
- 9:15Speaker 3: And I'm like, this is how this works. People, they developed,
- 9:21Speaker 3: they get a good crop of people that are ready
- 9:23Speaker 3: for the main roster. They move up so that way
- 9:26Speaker 3: the next group can come behind them and begin their
- 9:29Speaker 3: development in an XT.
- 9:31Speaker 6: And now there's got this levels below NXT now, right,
- 9:34Speaker 6: they've got.
- 9:37Speaker 7: Let's go or what l.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yeah, they have the pipe. They're establishing this system now.
- 9:46Speaker 3: I will say, as far as the call ups, them
- 9:51Speaker 3: doing it is not wrong. They're doing this. Many people
- 9:54Speaker 3: call it. Calling them up is not wrong. I do
- 9:59Speaker 3: think they could have spaced the out a little bit though,
- 10:02Speaker 3: because they pretty much brought them all in to the
- 10:06Speaker 3: new year.
- 10:09Speaker 2: That's kind of better, for better or worse. It's kind
- 10:13Speaker 2: of always handing done it.
- 10:14Speaker 6: Whether it was the draft, you know, it's just the
- 10:17Speaker 6: same thing with you know, you had six, eight, whatever
- 10:20Speaker 6: it was call.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Ups at a time. Uh My.
- 10:24Speaker 6: My problem with that is that I feel like some
- 10:27Speaker 6: at least at least one person, if not multiple people
- 10:31Speaker 6: get lost.
- 10:32Speaker 2: In the mix. And I think you're right that that.
- 10:35Speaker 6: All these call ups all at the same time might
- 10:37Speaker 6: not be the best way to go because I feel
- 10:39Speaker 6: like somebody always gets sucked over.
- 10:41Speaker 3: So you know, think, I mean, all this at the
- 10:43Speaker 3: same time, you have to do something. People are going
- 10:45Speaker 3: to expect something to happen with everybody at once, which
- 10:49Speaker 3: is gonna be especially especially this time of year when
- 10:55Speaker 3: you should be focused on WrestleMania. These people are getting
- 10:58Speaker 3: called up to immediately show up a WrestleMania, so you
- 11:01Speaker 3: kind of got to juggle that at the same time.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I would have I think they could have spaced this
- 11:04Speaker 3: out just a little bit. I ain't saying it had
- 11:07Speaker 3: to be like six months or anything like that, but
- 11:09Speaker 3: at least between now and WrestleMania, we could have gotten
- 11:14Speaker 3: a series of call ups. Plus the one thing I
- 11:17Speaker 3: will defend the NXT about is let's not forget that
- 11:20Speaker 3: while main roster has WrestleMania, NXC has stand and delivered
- 11:25Speaker 3: that weekend, which is basically their WrestleMania, and with their
- 11:29Speaker 3: roster being stripped down like this, it leaves them kind
- 11:33Speaker 3: of bear to try to build up you know, their
- 11:37Speaker 3: quote unquote WrestleMania caliber matches and programs basically within the
- 11:43Speaker 3: next two months.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Right, So again that even if you take that after
- 11:46Speaker 2: man would be the time to do this. That's exactly right.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Right, which is where I was going with it, not
- 11:53Speaker 3: saying all of them had to be held up, but
- 11:56Speaker 3: they could have. Like I said, if it would be me,
- 11:59Speaker 3: I would have staggered specifically Javan Evans, Trick Williams, and
- 12:04Speaker 3: Oba Femmy between now and post Wrestlemedia. I may have
- 12:08Speaker 3: had Javon come first and you know, on Raw let
- 12:12Speaker 3: him debut there. Then I would have had Nick all
- 12:15Speaker 3: this as GM as back. Now I'd be like, Okay,
- 12:16Speaker 3: I see what you're doing with Javon. I'll counter that
- 12:19Speaker 3: with Trick Williams and maybe bring trick Williams in and
- 12:23Speaker 3: like after the rumble, as you know, his his counter
- 12:26Speaker 3: to Adam Pier's landing Javon Evans and then he does
- 12:32Speaker 3: this thing and then have Obafemi. You know, it seemed
- 12:35Speaker 3: like the big prize let him both compete back and
- 12:37Speaker 3: forth going up to WrestleMania for him, and then after WrestleMania,
- 12:43Speaker 3: Obafemi makes his decision on who on what Brandy signs
- 12:48Speaker 3: with and he he debuts on the main roster after
- 12:50Speaker 3: wrestle Media.
- 12:51Speaker 7: Well, let's get back to to the to the point here.
- 12:54Speaker 7: It's like I was fringing out, like we're like on
- 12:58Speaker 7: off the top of here, Powerhouse High was coming to
- 13:00Speaker 7: the to w W. So you definitely see him going
- 13:05Speaker 7: directly to NXT, not to the main roster, both of.
- 13:09Speaker 3: You guys, that's what that's what he needed. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 3: he's needed on the Like we we got up with
- 13:14Speaker 3: him coming to the main roster, So what do we
- 13:16Speaker 3: need hops for? Right? Right? Right?
- 13:21Speaker 7: Cool?
- 13:22Speaker 2: A big giant black guy.
- 13:25Speaker 7: Uh do you guys listen to Insight with Chris van
- 13:28Speaker 7: Vliet at all?
- 13:31Speaker 3: Depends on whose guess.
- 13:33Speaker 7: I'm the same way, depends what it is.
- 13:35Speaker 8: But I see that the clips make their way onto
- 13:38Speaker 8: my desk often, but I can't recall ever hidden and
- 13:41Speaker 8: listening to more than forty second yea.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Somewhere I've whose podcast isn't really like must listen to me,
- 13:52Speaker 3: must watch on his YouTube, but Stephanie's has is quickly
- 13:56Speaker 3: becoming that for me. Yeah, her, What's Your Story?
- 14:00Speaker 7: Was really good on Uh I listened. I've been listening
- 14:03Speaker 7: to Chris van Vliet like whenever I have time at work,
- 14:06Speaker 7: and you're right though, Dre, like I pick and choose,
- 14:08Speaker 7: And this week I listened to the miss and it
- 14:11Speaker 7: was actually pretty good. You know, we find out where
- 14:16Speaker 7: mis got his start before, you know, the real world,
- 14:20Speaker 7: and you know where he was wrestling before he got to.
- 14:23Speaker 3: W W and you know, uh a start before in
- 14:28Speaker 3: real world.
- 14:28Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, yeah, uh he was in Deep South Wrestling.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 7: And then he was he was actually he was the
- 14:39Speaker 7: top face in the company. He was their first heavyweight champion.
- 14:42Speaker 7: He was the top merch seller. Even like man I
- 14:46Speaker 7: was learning all this shit about the myths today, I
- 14:48Speaker 7: was like, oh damn, uh you know about just certain
- 14:52Speaker 7: things about like his WrestleMania with Sina and you know,
- 14:55Speaker 7: working with the Rock and he just talks about like
- 14:58Speaker 7: these newer guys and it's interesting as hell. So yeah,
- 15:03Speaker 7: I mean definitely going there, pick and choose. But like
- 15:06Speaker 7: you know, Chris, it seems like to get almost just
- 15:11Speaker 7: about anybody he wants to interview, Like I think he
- 15:13Speaker 7: interviewed Stone Cold not too long ago.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I did listen to Yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 7: Yeah, It's just like you know, he can just get
- 15:22Speaker 7: just about anybody on there at this point.
- 15:24Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean, if you think about it, I mean,
- 15:28Speaker 3: as far as you know wrestling interviews, he's probably the
- 15:33Speaker 3: top guy out a WWE person as far when it
- 15:38Speaker 3: comes to interviewing wrestlers. So yeah, I mean he's pretty
- 15:42Speaker 3: much he's established that relationship with w W if nothing else,
- 15:48Speaker 3: and pretty much with wrestling as old because I mean
- 15:50Speaker 3: he interviews obviously people outside of w W as well.
- 15:53Speaker 7: Yeah, guys, Chris Jerco's uh contract is up. He's another
- 16:02Speaker 7: aw superstar. Who are we absolutely expecting him to jump ship?
- 16:08Speaker 7: To not really jump ship because now he was a
- 16:10Speaker 7: free agent, but to come over to WW and I
- 16:13Speaker 7: mean possibly wind down his career. Finally, I at a
- 16:21Speaker 7: lot of speculations were everybody's expecting to see him on
- 16:26Speaker 7: the first rall of Netflix, and I thought that was
- 16:29Speaker 7: kind of silly. I was like, you know, I think
- 16:33Speaker 7: they're going to bring Jericho back. I feel like they
- 16:34Speaker 7: would do it at the Rumble, And I feel like
- 16:36Speaker 7: we all can agree to that. If you're gonna bring
- 16:39Speaker 7: somebody like Jericho back, you do it at the Rumble.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Yeah, he.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Is still on the aw rosta page for what for
- 16:50Speaker 2: what that's worth.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Jericho.
- 16:54Speaker 6: Say what you will about Jericho at various times, I
- 16:57Speaker 6: have absolutely adored him.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah, but he keeps One of his biggest skills is
- 17:05Speaker 2: that he always keeps you guessing.
- 17:07Speaker 6: Uh, so he's playing this, he's having a blast, I'm
- 17:10Speaker 6: sure working working the grants as the boys saying, well,
- 17:16Speaker 6: I guess I would expect where to smoke this fire?
- 17:19Speaker 7: Uh?
- 17:20Speaker 6: Why wouldn't he come back for a limited schedule? Mostly
- 17:25Speaker 6: likely lucratives, you know, in a big, big sendoff and
- 17:30Speaker 6: Hall of Fame induction and whatever. But you never know
- 17:34Speaker 6: with him, you know, he he he often will will
- 17:36Speaker 6: zig when you think he's in a zag or you know,
- 17:39Speaker 6: he often will he you know, and Cody does this
- 17:42Speaker 6: a lot too. He will say, oh, I'm never gonna
- 17:44Speaker 6: do X, Y and Z you know, and then he
- 17:47Speaker 6: does it, so you know, he's always working something that was.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean, I mean, I'm not necessarily of
- 17:57Speaker 3: the opinion that Chris Jericho has the return at the
- 18:03Speaker 3: Rumble or that you know, the beginning of the New
- 18:05Speaker 3: Year wouldn't have been a or would have been necessarily
- 18:08Speaker 3: been a bad time for him to come back. I mean,
- 18:09Speaker 3: they build that up as a pretty big show, so
- 18:11Speaker 3: I mean there was reason why people were expecting it,
- 18:14Speaker 3: but also their fault for gassing themselves up like that. Me,
- 18:19Speaker 3: I'm just up the line set that he's gonna show
- 18:22Speaker 3: up when he shows up. If he's gonna show up,
- 18:25Speaker 3: I don't think. I don't think WWE necessarily needs him.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I'm not opposed to him seeing showing up, but I'm
- 18:36Speaker 3: also not exactly looking forward to watching him wrestle because
- 18:41Speaker 3: he's old. Even if he's lost weight and got in
- 18:44Speaker 3: good shape hopefully, still it's just another I ain't no
- 18:55Speaker 3: way to sugarcoat it. It's still just another old guy
- 18:58Speaker 3: coming back in the spot, and I think that's fair
- 19:02Speaker 3: for me. Yeah, for me, I want, I really want
- 19:07Speaker 3: and feel like twenty twenty six for WWE really needs
- 19:11Speaker 3: to be a year about the next generation. And that's
- 19:15Speaker 3: not that'ssary pushing the old guys out, but we definitely
- 19:19Speaker 3: need to see a focus in my opinion, on what
- 19:23Speaker 3: the next generation of ww superstars is going to be.
- 19:26Speaker 3: And it seemed like they that's what we were like,
- 19:30Speaker 3: that's what they were indicating to us was going to
- 19:32Speaker 3: be the case with all these NXT call ups. So
- 19:36Speaker 3: it seemed like they were signaling like that maybe their
- 19:39Speaker 3: route that they're going in twenty twenty six at least
- 19:41Speaker 3: as starting that process. So Jericho to me, seems to
- 19:45Speaker 3: run counter to that. I I you don't have a place.
- 19:51Speaker 6: Though, but I think like he's a great guy for
- 19:54Speaker 6: you know, for Jamon Evans to beat, and it's a
- 19:57Speaker 6: big you know, like I think you may be discounting
- 20:02Speaker 6: the rub that he could give us to younger folks.
- 20:08Speaker 6: Other people couldn't do that also, but I think I
- 20:12Speaker 6: think that's Deerrika's value at this point.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Yeah, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that there's
- 20:17Speaker 3: no place for Jericho in w W now, not absolutely not.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And he does deserve to have, you know, if this
- 20:25Speaker 3: is gonna be his final run or his farewell, he
- 20:30Speaker 3: absolutely deserves that in w W, and the fans deserve
- 20:33Speaker 3: to give him his praise and you know, say their
- 20:36Speaker 3: goodbyes to them. It's just that I think they need
- 20:42Speaker 3: to be very mindful of how they choose to use
- 20:46Speaker 3: him in this final run. And like you said, he
- 20:50Speaker 3: should be used as to me, somebody to give the rub,
- 20:54Speaker 3: give the boost, help elevate the next guys up, not
- 20:59Speaker 3: coming to be you know, the main event or.
- 21:04Speaker 2: And I feel like the WWE product is suited better to.
- 21:09Speaker 6: What's the word, I want, cover up the warts maybe,
- 21:13Speaker 6: you know, like in a way that ae W you know,
- 21:15Speaker 6: aw throw him out there was Kenny Omega and he
- 21:18Speaker 6: just get he'd look like a jump you know, Omego
- 21:21Speaker 6: run circles around him.
- 21:23Speaker 2: Or I think WWE would be more cognizant of that,
- 21:26Speaker 2: you know.
- 21:27Speaker 6: And I don't let's just say a Randy wouldn't you know,
- 21:31Speaker 6: make him look silly in a way that you know,
- 21:34Speaker 6: maybe if they threw him out there with Bandido or something,
- 21:36Speaker 6: you know, somebody that would just absolutely mop the floor
- 21:38Speaker 6: with him. I feel like that wouldn't happen, or it
- 21:41Speaker 6: wouldn't happen as badly anyway.
- 21:43Speaker 2: In w W, A and Dreon ment did mention it.
- 21:47Speaker 2: He is pretty much.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Why he does not have a whole lot left physically.
- 21:52Speaker 6: I don't think at this point in pro wrestling, sometimes
- 21:57Speaker 6: the physicality isn't the most important thing, right.
- 22:00Speaker 7: I mean, like Jericho, like he'd pair him with the
- 22:03Speaker 7: heel stable, make him just the mouthpiece, you know. I mean,
- 22:07Speaker 7: if he's not in the ring anymore, if he can
- 22:09Speaker 7: just be a mouthpiece. Ah, I mean I could see
- 22:14Speaker 7: a role for that after he's done with his end
- 22:17Speaker 7: ring career. That'd be great. But you know, we'll see commentary.
- 22:24Speaker 7: Maybe maybe he'd be great on commentary. I don't know
- 22:28Speaker 7: what Jericko's gonna do after he's done. I guess just
- 22:32Speaker 7: keep torn with his band. Uh I heard that. Uh hey,
- 22:42Speaker 7: let's let's get into the bracket. I got. I got
- 22:44Speaker 7: a good one for you guys, the Fantasy League bracket.
- 22:48Speaker 7: It's been a while. It's been a while. I had
- 22:51Speaker 7: some time, you know, I'm like, what is next on
- 22:54Speaker 7: our list here on the bracket? What haven't we done?
- 22:59Speaker 2: Man?
- 23:00Speaker 7: It's getting down to we might we're gonna be going
- 23:02Speaker 7: to the I only got two more matches here, two
- 23:04Speaker 7: or three four? Two two more matches and then we're
- 23:09Speaker 7: gonna be down into the next round finally.
- 23:13Speaker 3: All right.
- 23:16Speaker 7: In their peak, Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Brock Lesnar
- 23:25Speaker 7: a match we never got, but we almost had, almost had,
- 23:32Speaker 7: and Stone Cold took his ball and went home. We
- 23:34Speaker 7: never got that match, uh, versus The Rock versus Sean Michaels.
- 23:46Speaker 7: And it sucks because these guys were kinda kind of
- 23:50Speaker 7: not in the company at the same time. You know,
- 23:53Speaker 7: I know Sean was out with his back injury and
- 23:56Speaker 7: and Rock would be going to Hollywood. So these guys
- 23:59Speaker 7: were miss windows, I guess you could say, and never
- 24:04Speaker 7: had the opportunity to get a nice feud, nice one
- 24:08Speaker 7: on one man. I want to I want to open
- 24:13Speaker 7: the floor here. I mean, I think these are because
- 24:16Speaker 7: this and then the last match we have on here,
- 24:19Speaker 7: I think are just gonna be the two hardest ones,
- 24:22Speaker 7: you know, Uh, I I don't know yet. I'm still
- 24:28Speaker 7: thinking about this.
- 24:30Speaker 9: Because I remember, I feel like Austin versus Lesnar is
- 24:35Speaker 9: a is a pro wrestling match, and The Rock versus
- 24:40Speaker 9: Sewn Michaels is a sports entertainment match.
- 24:42Speaker 7: I was thinking the same thing. I was saying the
- 24:46Speaker 7: same thing.
- 24:46Speaker 6: Honestly, I think I would go with Rock and Sean.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and mostly mostly because I just I think Leslie's
- 24:56Speaker 2: boring right as one of these four Austin's my favorite
- 25:03Speaker 2: or Brock Slightly's favorite. He thank I'll go in lay
- 25:07Speaker 2: down the middle and go with Rock and HBK.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Yeah. I kind of an agreement with you there. My
- 25:16Speaker 3: thinking is the issue I see with Austin and versus
- 25:21Speaker 3: Lesnar is Austin at his peak his wrestling style kind
- 25:29Speaker 3: of clashes with who I think Peak Lessner is, which
- 25:33Speaker 3: for me, as I've stated before, to me, Peak Lesner
- 25:38Speaker 3: is two thousand and three, two thousand and four, Brock Lesner,
- 25:42Speaker 3: not the Beast incarnate, not the one in twenty one
- 25:45Speaker 3: and one or whatever, not the guy that came back
- 25:48Speaker 3: after USC, not suplex City Lesler. To me, that was
- 25:53Speaker 3: him at his worst. He wasn't a fraction of the
- 25:57Speaker 3: wrestler that he was in his first run. So for me,
- 26:01Speaker 3: First Run Lessler is Peak Lester and that style that
- 26:05Speaker 3: he did, which was again much more versatile and all
- 26:08Speaker 3: that kind of clashes with what Peak stone Cold would be,
- 26:13Speaker 3: which is host neck injury stone Cold, where he had
- 26:17Speaker 3: to change his style up to be a brawler, So
- 26:23Speaker 3: that's where the kind of the issue result is false.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Because if you could put stunning Steve Austin in the
- 26:31Speaker 3: ring with Brock Lesler, oh you get a fucking wrestling clinic.
- 26:37Speaker 3: You would get a wrestling clinic. But that's not peak
- 26:41Speaker 3: stone cold, and that's where the problem lies. Whereas when
- 26:48Speaker 3: we look at Rock and Sean, both of them at
- 26:51Speaker 3: their peak. You know whether you think Sean's peak again
- 26:56Speaker 3: is attitude era or ruthless AGGRESSI in the era you know,
- 27:02Speaker 3: you know, pre back injury or post back injury. Sean
- 27:05Speaker 3: and Sean he's mister WrestleMania. He's the highlight, he's the
- 27:08Speaker 3: main event, He's all that. And then you pair that
- 27:11Speaker 3: up with the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. The
- 27:15Speaker 3: promos themselves are going to be gold. Those two just
- 27:22Speaker 3: absolutely tearing into each other and just cooking on the mic,
- 27:27Speaker 3: and then the match itself. We know what Sean could
- 27:30Speaker 3: do in the ring, and we know what Rock is
- 27:32Speaker 3: capable of in the ring. When you pair him with
- 27:34Speaker 3: a wrestler of that caliber, Rock can absolutely keep up.
- 27:38Speaker 3: So they would put and they would both sell for
- 27:40Speaker 3: each other like a motherfucker, like you imagine how Rock
- 27:46Speaker 3: would sell a sweets in music, he.
- 27:51Speaker 7: Dead like the way he would sell the Stunner. He
- 27:53Speaker 7: would just do like a flip, you know, flip bounce
- 27:56Speaker 7: off the ropes, you know.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Right, Like that match would be that match would be phenomenal.
- 28:03Speaker 3: You know what you guys for me? Yeah, it's Rock
- 28:05Speaker 3: and hbk All all the way.
- 28:07Speaker 7: You guys got me pretty convinced here, because I do
- 28:10Speaker 7: like the entertainment value of it. God damn, those two
- 28:13Speaker 7: men don't fucking entertain the ship out of me in
- 28:16Speaker 7: a match and then put him and put them together
- 28:18Speaker 7: in a fucking match, you know. Uh yeah, you know,
- 28:24Speaker 7: because like I do recall a time when, like I said,
- 28:27Speaker 7: like we almost did get Lesnar and Stone Colder. I
- 28:31Speaker 7: was very excited at the idea of it happening.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it was. But during during two thousand and three
- 28:37Speaker 3: when Rock Play, when Austin was getting pushed to the moon. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:43Speaker 3: they wanted Vince wanted to do it on a random
- 28:46Speaker 3: Monday night raw. In fact, speaking of we just brought
- 28:49Speaker 3: up Chris van Vliet not too long ago. Austin talked
- 28:51Speaker 3: about it on that show brief on that that episode briefly,
- 28:56Speaker 3: but yeah, Austin's He's always maintained it throughout the year.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Is that him versus Rock Lester should have been a
- 29:03Speaker 3: pay per view level match with a storyline and a
- 29:07Speaker 3: build up to it, not something that you just pull
- 29:10Speaker 3: out of the thin air on a random episode of
- 29:13Speaker 3: Monday Night Raw with no build up or anything. And
- 29:15Speaker 3: that was why he walked away from it and took
- 29:17Speaker 3: his ball and went home. Yep, which he is one
- 29:19Speaker 3: hundred right on it.
- 29:21Speaker 7: Yeah, it's a good business on his part because today
- 29:24Speaker 7: this man is still the like top merchandise selling you know,
- 29:30Speaker 7: you know, still doing business with the company, still making millions. Ah, okay, awesome,
- 29:39Speaker 7: because I'm pretty convinced.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Man, imagine if we had gotten that match on Raw,
- 29:44Speaker 3: it'd be something that, yeah, it would have made, you know,
- 29:49Speaker 3: huge for that episode of Raw. It would have been
- 29:51Speaker 3: a big thing. But that match probably would not have
- 29:57Speaker 3: lived up to what it could be could have been.
- 29:59Speaker 3: God No, especially since they were pushing brock Lesler to
- 30:03Speaker 3: the moon. More than likely that means they would have
- 30:05Speaker 3: had Lesner basically squashed stone Cold? Is that what anybody
- 30:10Speaker 3: would have wanted to see is stone Cold get squashed
- 30:14Speaker 3: by Lesner?
- 30:15Speaker 7: Man, We don't want that. No, I'm definitely convinced raw
- 30:20Speaker 7: versus HBK.
- 30:23Speaker 3: You know, likes then taking a stunner and then kicking
- 30:26Speaker 3: out of it after one, like it ain't shit.
- 30:33Speaker 7: All right, we are going to get into the Slammy
- 30:37Speaker 7: Awards and then we will get into a little bit
- 30:44Speaker 7: of the rumble and talk about injuries and stuff. So
- 30:53Speaker 7: what a what a hell of a year. Here's the
- 30:58Speaker 7: thing with wrestling is so much shit happens in one year.
- 31:04Speaker 7: You totally forget how much crap really goes on until
- 31:10Speaker 7: you start digging through the year and you're like, oh, crap,
- 31:13Speaker 7: that's right, that happened. Oh shit, that happened. I forgot
- 31:18Speaker 7: that that guy was injured, or that guy came back,
- 31:21Speaker 7: or you know, that person was only champion for that
- 31:24Speaker 7: short amount of time. Like wrestling, just because we watched
- 31:29Speaker 7: it on a week to week basis, you know, it's
- 31:31Speaker 7: just time flies, you know, So I kind of enjoyed
- 31:38Speaker 7: going back. You know, we have eleven categories this year,
- 31:43Speaker 7: eleven awards, see about more or less. Uh, we're gonna
- 31:51Speaker 7: go We're just gonna go right through the list. I
- 31:53Speaker 7: actually I'm just gonna read them off and then we'll
- 31:56Speaker 7: start from the beginning. We do have male and female
- 31:59Speaker 7: Wrestler of the Year. We have Matches of the Year,
- 32:04Speaker 7: Top three Matches of the Year, Tag Team of the Year,
- 32:11Speaker 7: Return of the Year, Promo of the Year, which is
- 32:18Speaker 7: always my favorite category, biggest move for the company.
- 32:25Speaker 3: For the year.
- 32:31Speaker 7: What else I have here? Breakout Star of the Year,
- 32:35Speaker 7: we have My Time is Now Award, which has now
- 32:39Speaker 7: been added, the best heel face turn of the Year,
- 32:46Speaker 7: Biggest swerve of the year. And disappointment are Doyle. What
- 32:53Speaker 7: did you call it?
- 32:54Speaker 2: The just disappointed?
- 33:00Speaker 10: Man?
- 33:00Speaker 7: I just disappointed, a word which I say for last
- 33:02Speaker 7: because I thought that was rightfully so I thought that
- 33:07Speaker 7: was a good one. So yeah, let mean, let's let's
- 33:11Speaker 7: let's get right into this. This is uh, it's pretty juicy.
- 33:14Speaker 7: Let's get into Uh. I guess we'll put male and female. Well,
- 33:19Speaker 7: do you guys want to just start with that right
- 33:20Speaker 7: off the bat? I mean, let's let's go big. You
- 33:25Speaker 7: guys want to Yeah, let's let's go big. Yeah? Why not?
- 33:33Speaker 2: So?
- 33:34Speaker 3: Man?
- 33:34Speaker 7: If I if I'm gonna say I I have three
- 33:43Speaker 7: here for the men's I'm gonna tell you third, second, first, Uh,
- 33:49Speaker 7: you know, Okay, it was it was hard. It was
- 33:54Speaker 7: It was pretty damn hard for me to pick this year.
- 33:56Speaker 7: And uh, I I feel repetitive, I guess because I'm
- 34:04Speaker 7: thinking about like what I picked last year, and I
- 34:07Speaker 7: was like, nah, I can't. Can't be two years in
- 34:11Speaker 7: a row, can it. But you know, third place putting
- 34:16Speaker 7: Gunther up on there. Man, I think Gunther has had
- 34:22Speaker 7: a hell of a year, you know, especially how he
- 34:26Speaker 7: wrapped it up. I mean, this man is one of
- 34:30Speaker 7: the most hated people in the company right now. I mean,
- 34:34Speaker 7: you know, as for fans hating him, I mean, this
- 34:38Speaker 7: man is just just getting booed all over. What a
- 34:45Speaker 7: what a swerve this year, pushing Gunter to the moon. Still,
- 34:50Speaker 7: this man had very little losses this year. I mean,
- 34:52Speaker 7: he lost against jay Uso at WrestleMania, but he somehow
- 34:58Speaker 7: it felt like he bounced back, you know, honestly, very quickly.
- 35:05Speaker 7: And it stayed pretty pretty damn relevant all the way
- 35:09Speaker 7: without having a title on him, you know, I mean,
- 35:12Speaker 7: he got the world title back and then he lost
- 35:14Speaker 7: it again, but he pretty much without the title, I
- 35:17Speaker 7: still stayed pretty damn relevant. This second place, Uh, we
- 35:30Speaker 7: got Sampunk. Uh what can I say about Sampunk? This
- 35:36Speaker 7: is finally the year of punk. I finally get in
- 35:39Speaker 7: some title wins. And then uh, he had a great
- 35:44Speaker 7: match at WrestleMania. He got the main event WrestleMania. He
- 35:47Speaker 7: got to have his dream, you know, fulfilled. We got
- 35:50Speaker 7: to see him win a world title then have it
- 35:56Speaker 7: quickly snatched away. Uh you know that was that was
- 36:01Speaker 7: all greet for the story. You know, I loved it.
- 36:07Speaker 7: I mean, his promos, his moments with his wife returning,
- 36:15Speaker 7: you know, just punks on the up and up. I
- 36:18Speaker 7: feel like he's at forty forty seven now and he's
- 36:21Speaker 7: our world champ. I couldn't be fucking happier right now
- 36:27Speaker 7: for him, you know, coming coming back to the company
- 36:31Speaker 7: and being put in the position he's been put in
- 36:33Speaker 7: so and number one and for me, honestly, is John
- 36:42Speaker 7: Cena this man. I know I'm not just saying it
- 36:46Speaker 7: because his it's his you know, his retirement, but this
- 36:50Speaker 7: guy's been gone for quite some time, and we would
- 36:55Speaker 7: see him once twice a year. Maybe we were lucky
- 36:59Speaker 7: if we even got a match out of him. So
- 37:02Speaker 7: when we found out that he was having a retirement tour,
- 37:06Speaker 7: you know kind of laid out all the dates and
- 37:08Speaker 7: then the very beginning. You know, I forget how many
- 37:12Speaker 7: dates it was, but we I feel like a lot
- 37:17Speaker 7: of us took it for granted because it went it
- 37:19Speaker 7: went by so quick. I got to enjoy a lot
- 37:25Speaker 7: of reunited feuds this year. I got to see him
- 37:30Speaker 7: get in the ring with a bunch of wrestlers we
- 37:32Speaker 7: didn't think he'd ever would you know, some little I
- 37:37Speaker 7: guess you could say, some fantasy matches we get. You know, Uh,
- 37:42Speaker 7: he got to give the rub to the right wrestlers. Uh,
- 37:46Speaker 7: you put over the right guys. I you know, I
- 37:50Speaker 7: think his promos we were pretty damn good this year.
- 37:53Speaker 7: We had a shocking moment with Sina and his character. Ah,
- 37:59Speaker 7: I know, it was great. I had a great year
- 38:03Speaker 7: with Sena. I had fun, I should say with this
- 38:06Speaker 7: retirement tour, I had fun, and I you know, it's over.
- 38:12Speaker 7: I can hopefully we get another retirement tour of another
- 38:16Speaker 7: wrestler and I can have this fun again with I
- 38:20Speaker 7: don't know, aj Styles or and or somebody else when
- 38:23Speaker 7: their retirement is winding down and we have the opportunity
- 38:26Speaker 7: to maybe do something like this, maybe not dragging out
- 38:30Speaker 7: for a whole fucking year. But I don't know, uh,
- 38:34Speaker 7: but yeah, those are my three. So Gunther, Punk and
- 38:40Speaker 7: Sinah Dre. Who are your three male wrestlers of the year.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I don't have three because it was honestly difficult for
- 38:52Speaker 3: me to choose that because I felt like this was
- 38:55Speaker 3: kind of it was hard to find somebody who I
- 38:59Speaker 3: felt had a strong year throughout the entire year. I
- 39:04Speaker 3: felt like everybody was really up and down throughout the year.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Like Gunter started off the year as champion, then lost
- 39:13Speaker 3: the title to j to j Uso. WrestleMania was off
- 39:17Speaker 3: TV for a while all I mean, well got the
- 39:21Speaker 3: title back. It's pretty short order from j as world champion,
- 39:28Speaker 3: dropped it to Punk at SummerSlam, then was off TV
- 39:35Speaker 3: for a while, then came back, you know for the
- 39:40Speaker 3: My Time Is Now tournament. There was a chunk of
- 39:43Speaker 3: TV where a good chunk of the year where Gunster
- 39:46Speaker 3: wasn't there. Cody he was in and out for a
- 39:50Speaker 3: lot of the year and up and down. Seth had
- 39:55Speaker 3: a strong year going and then injured. We ain't seen
- 40:00Speaker 3: him since Drew. I could have given it to Drew
- 40:06Speaker 3: if he had won the title last year, because I
- 40:11Speaker 3: felt like he was he was probably my runner up
- 40:15Speaker 3: as far as rest of the year because he despite
- 40:18Speaker 3: not being champion, he maintained relevance throughout the entire year
- 40:23Speaker 3: and stayed in a lot of strong, high profile feuds,
- 40:29Speaker 3: and his social media work has remained as always impeccable
- 40:34Speaker 3: and he really knows how to use that platform to
- 40:37Speaker 3: keep himself and keep things interesting and relevant. So, like
- 40:44Speaker 3: I said, for me, nobody really stood out as having
- 40:48Speaker 3: a strong year from start to finish except for the
- 40:54Speaker 3: same person that you chose as your male wrest of
- 40:56Speaker 3: the Year, and that's John Cena, Because pretty much twenty
- 40:59Speaker 3: twenty five was all about his farewell tour. Every appearance
- 41:05Speaker 3: he made mattered. He had the most talked about moment
- 41:12Speaker 3: of the beginning of the first part of the year
- 41:14Speaker 3: with this He'll Turn, even though the heel turned itself
- 41:18Speaker 3: subsequently turned out to be a bit lackluster. But then
- 41:23Speaker 3: he goes back to being Babyface and gets everybody right
- 41:28Speaker 3: back on the side, and then he finishes off the
- 41:30Speaker 3: year having phenomenal matches with the likes of Cody and
- 41:36Speaker 3: AJ and the feud with Dom and then goes out
- 41:39Speaker 3: and you know, arguably one of the biggest moments of
- 41:43Speaker 3: the entire year which is his farewell match. So I mean,
- 41:46Speaker 3: I don't think any other wrestler really dominated our consciousness
- 41:51Speaker 3: as wrestling fans throughout the year as much as John
- 41:55Speaker 3: Cena did with this farewell tour. So for what if
- 41:59Speaker 3: for me he's my Male Wrestler of the Year, I'll
- 42:02Speaker 3: give an honorable mention also to see him Punk because
- 42:06Speaker 3: he also had a very strong year as well and
- 42:10Speaker 3: was one of the few people who was consistently there
- 42:13Speaker 3: throughout the entire year as well. We didn't lose se
- 42:16Speaker 3: him Punk to any type of injury. He did, like
- 42:19Speaker 3: we said, won the world title at SummerSlam and has
- 42:24Speaker 3: been our world champion since. Well no, I say no
- 42:28Speaker 3: he did. I've got he freaking lost the damn title
- 42:30Speaker 3: to Seth. He won it at SummerSlam, dropped it, but
- 42:34Speaker 3: got it back and it's been world champion since winning
- 42:39Speaker 3: it back. But he's been there throughout the entire year.
- 42:42Speaker 3: He's been consistent, he's been in top fuse, and his
- 42:47Speaker 3: mic work has been pretty much unmatched by anybody on
- 42:52Speaker 3: NWWE throughout the entire year. I don't think he cut
- 42:56Speaker 3: a single bad promo all year. So I said my
- 43:02Speaker 3: Male wrest of the Year John Cena and I'll give
- 43:05Speaker 3: an honorable mission to see him punk.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Well, we pretty much have similar lists, just different order.
- 43:17Speaker 6: Uh So, not a whole lot to add to some
- 43:19Speaker 6: of these guys because we've discussed them at length already.
- 43:22Speaker 6: But I guess I made it kind of a list
- 43:24Speaker 6: of runner ups. But if we're gonna go one, two, three,
- 43:27Speaker 6: I'll go number three.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I will go with mister Rawlins.
- 43:30Speaker 6: Uh, just you know, consistent all year, always in the mix,
- 43:35Speaker 6: always into something, had a great heel turned, you know,
- 43:38Speaker 6: started this faction that looked like it and it still
- 43:41Speaker 6: is kind of maybe going somewhere, But unfortunately it came
- 43:44Speaker 6: at the defense of him being injured for how long
- 43:49Speaker 6: we won't we don't know yet. In the course, who
- 43:52Speaker 6: could forget the what do they call it? The ruse
- 43:55Speaker 6: of the century? Right, So just had a great year. Uh,
- 44:00Speaker 6: number two would be seen. I mean, if that heel
- 44:03Speaker 6: turn hadn't been just so fucking shitty, Uh, he probably.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Would have been my number one. I mean, the year
- 44:10Speaker 2: more or less revolved around him.
- 44:11Speaker 6: He was again with the exception of that shitty heel
- 44:15Speaker 6: turn and some of some aspects of the hill turn.
- 44:18Speaker 6: As we will get into we're really good, but just
- 44:22Speaker 6: by overall, I think it was a pile of shit.
- 44:26Speaker 6: But he was always a delight and still is a delight.
- 44:30Speaker 6: And I don't think it's gonna sink in for a
- 44:33Speaker 6: while how much we're gonna miss this guy. But this
- 44:38Speaker 6: one just seemed absolutely clear to me. I had to
- 44:40Speaker 6: think of who else would be the runners up, because
- 44:43Speaker 6: for me it was do you know, I was just
- 44:47Speaker 6: fucking the most consistent, the most compelling performer in my eyes,
- 44:51Speaker 6: all year, high quality matches all the time, carriage, story lines,
- 44:58Speaker 6: you know, the social media stuff to engage, just everything,
- 45:01Speaker 6: the star power in ring excellence promos.
- 45:05Speaker 2: For me, there was a no brainer. Uh, just far
- 45:09Speaker 2: and away from me.
- 45:11Speaker 6: Uh, the most entertaining guy on the TV all year
- 45:14Speaker 6: was Drew.
- 45:18Speaker 7: Three McIntyre. And now he's your w champion.
- 45:22Speaker 6: Right yeah, I mean and all that ship, you know,
- 45:26Speaker 6: and we we were we have mentioned like he's gonna
- 45:28Speaker 6: start winning massive he had yeah and that and that,
- 45:33Speaker 6: and that really made the title win that much later.
- 45:36Speaker 2: And yeah, you know, I hope it's not. I hope
- 45:38Speaker 2: it's not six weeks or whatever, but that means.
- 45:41Speaker 7: For sure I'm right about that.
- 45:43Speaker 3: I mean, that's that's kind of what kept That's about
- 45:45Speaker 3: the only thing that kept him from being my Male
- 45:48Speaker 3: Wrestlers the Year is the fact that he took way
- 45:51Speaker 3: too many l's this year in twenty twenty five and
- 45:55Speaker 3: didn't finally get his big win until this year. At
- 46:00Speaker 3: the beginning. He started off this year with it. Like
- 46:02Speaker 3: I said, if he'd won the ww Championship at the
- 46:06Speaker 3: end of last year, I probably would have given him
- 46:09Speaker 3: the nod for my Male Wrestler of the Year.
- 46:10Speaker 7: But yeah, I mean, it's it's funny because.
- 46:16Speaker 3: I know accomplishment got account for something, right.
- 46:21Speaker 7: I thought he was just going to be fed to
- 46:23Speaker 7: Cody again, you know, just another loss. And I really
- 46:26Speaker 7: didn't think on an episode of that that they were
- 46:30Speaker 7: gonna do a title change. So I was very shocked.
- 46:34Speaker 7: I was fucking sweet. I was like, I prayed for
- 46:38Speaker 7: this and it happened.
- 46:41Speaker 6: You can remember that for your most shocking moment of
- 46:43Speaker 6: twenty twenty six.
- 46:45Speaker 2: You have to wait a year though.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's so true, right, Like y'all remember Drew
- 46:52Speaker 3: was actually champion at the beginning.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah, that match, it was great.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Let me put that on the list. Oh that was
- 47:06Speaker 2: in twenty twenty three.
- 47:07Speaker 6: Oh yeah, it is easy to lose track of when
- 47:12Speaker 6: things happened.
- 47:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that'd be like me telling you, like, remember Kevin
- 47:16Speaker 3: Owens was wrestling at the beginning of twenty twenty five.
- 47:21Speaker 3: I had completely forgotten about it until I was, you know,
- 47:23Speaker 3: doing research for this. I was like, damn ko was
- 47:27Speaker 3: wrestling at the beginning of the year. Damn this year? Right,
- 47:33Speaker 3: had that Heli five match with Cody at All at
- 47:35Speaker 3: the Rumble?
- 47:36Speaker 7: Right, Well do you guys, do you guys remember how
- 47:44Speaker 7: exciting like the Raw was last year?
- 47:49Speaker 3: Remember the Netflix premiere.
- 47:52Speaker 7: Yeah, we had we had.
- 47:53Speaker 3: The where everything that started off with the Rock.
- 47:56Speaker 7: We had we had Roman Reigns versus Solo. You know,
- 48:01Speaker 7: for the Uber Falla. We had John Cena entered the
- 48:05Speaker 7: Roar of Humble match. We had riv Ripley defeated liv
- 48:08Speaker 7: Morgan to reclaim the women's world title.
- 48:11Speaker 2: You know, uh.
- 48:16Speaker 7: Jay, it was so defeated Drew McIntyre, Siampunk defeated uh yeah,
- 48:22Speaker 7: Seth Rollins. So yeah, I mean it was a good role.
- 48:26Speaker 3: It was.
- 48:28Speaker 7: That's a last year. You know, this time we had
- 48:34Speaker 7: stranger things and then you get people like me, who
- 48:42Speaker 7: goes what the fuck is Stranger Things?
- 48:46Speaker 3: After the.
- 48:48Speaker 7: I think so it was. Yeah, but you know, in
- 48:51Speaker 7: the past few weeks we've had that and then SmackDown
- 48:54Speaker 7: actually was pretty good. The last SmackDown of the year.
- 48:58Speaker 7: You know, they had a few title changes. Yeah, so
- 49:04Speaker 7: for pre taped shows, Uh, do you guys feel like
- 49:08Speaker 7: they kept it hush hush, like you didn't get any spoilers.
- 49:15Speaker 7: I still live, right, but you guys didn't hear about
- 49:20Speaker 7: any title changes.
- 49:22Speaker 3: So yeah, I just stay off social media until I
- 49:24Speaker 3: get home.
- 49:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I honestly didn't see any leaks of any like
- 49:30Speaker 7: title changes, you know, Uh, these pre taped shows, pre
- 49:35Speaker 7: taped events or whatever. You know, nothing big, no spoils.
- 49:39Speaker 7: But uh, anyway, let's get into uh Female Wrestler of
- 49:45Speaker 7: the Year. My three. You know they kind of go
- 49:53Speaker 7: hand in hand is uh Rhia and Eo, you know
- 49:58Speaker 7: as not only a singles competitors, but now as a
- 50:02Speaker 7: tag team. They they put two main event wrestlers, uh,
- 50:12Speaker 7: and they put them as a tag team. So now
- 50:14Speaker 7: they're this super strong tag team because now they are
- 50:17Speaker 7: the tag team champions. You know, if if they were
- 50:24Speaker 7: doing a singles run this year, I'd probably put them.
- 50:29Speaker 7: You know maybe first, but honestly, for first it's Stephanie
- 50:36Speaker 7: vequer this this girls won the NXT and the North
- 50:43Speaker 7: American Championship right before going to the main roster and
- 50:47Speaker 7: and women win in the Women's championship inaugural Crown Jewel.
- 50:53Speaker 7: Uh you know she won what she won, the women's
- 50:57Speaker 7: title and then the inaugural Crown Jewel Champampionship as well.
- 51:03Speaker 7: You know, some notable mentions though, I guess you could say, uh,
- 51:09Speaker 7: I would say, uh, Naomi, you know, got cut short
- 51:14Speaker 7: because she got pregnant, and uh, let's not forget Tiffany
- 51:18Speaker 7: Stratton also at three hundred and two days a champion,
- 51:23Speaker 7: so you know, but yeah, for superstar of the year
- 51:29Speaker 7: for female Stephanie the care quite fucking popular booker, t
- 51:39Speaker 7: definitely think so, you know, straight to the fake fucking
- 51:43Speaker 7: main roster. Uh, and they literally strat a rocket on her,
- 51:49Speaker 7: no secondary titles. She went right to the top, and
- 51:53Speaker 7: she's staying and I could see her definitely retaining and
- 51:58Speaker 7: staying champion till WrestleMania. I just think if maybe like
- 52:05Speaker 7: this is a little language barrier, you know, because her
- 52:07Speaker 7: English isn't very well so makes her promo is kind
- 52:11Speaker 7: of hard, but still got the fans behind her. She's
- 52:14Speaker 7: really good in that ring. So uh dre Female Superstar
- 52:20Speaker 7: of the Year.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Okay, so apparently you copied my homework this time around.
- 52:29Speaker 3: I also had Stephanie Lucaer as my Women's Wrestler of
- 52:33Speaker 3: the Year for pretty much the same reason. She from
- 52:37Speaker 3: the moment she came into the WWE fold at the
- 52:43Speaker 3: beginning of twenty twenty five on NXT. Yeah, she's done
- 52:47Speaker 3: nothing but dominate the whole way through, and she's one
- 52:52Speaker 3: of the Not only that, but she's probably one of
- 52:55Speaker 3: the few wrestlers who had a consistently strong year from
- 52:59Speaker 3: a start to finish. I know you mentioned Stephanieva, caer
- 53:05Speaker 3: Rhea and EO. Yeah, definitely had strong twenty twenty fives,
- 53:10Speaker 3: but they were they had a bit of a lull,
- 53:15Speaker 3: I'll say, towards the around the late summer in the fall,
- 53:18Speaker 3: where there wasn't really much going on until you know,
- 53:22Speaker 3: Creative decided to really ratchet up the women's tag division
- 53:27Speaker 3: and you know put Rio in that. I mean Charlotte.
- 53:36Speaker 3: She's been around the whole year, but she didn't really
- 53:40Speaker 3: start to come around until they paired her up with
- 53:42Speaker 3: a Lexa Bliss. I would give honorable mentions to Naomi,
- 53:51Speaker 3: who came damn close. I almost gave Naomi my Women's
- 53:54Speaker 3: Wrestler of the Year anyway, even despite the fact that
- 53:57Speaker 3: she had to walk away due to pregnancy, because I
- 54:02Speaker 3: just think what she did this year was that strong.
- 54:06Speaker 3: So I mean, if I had to go with a
- 54:08Speaker 3: runner up, Naomi would definitely be my runner up because
- 54:11Speaker 3: from the beginning of the year with the reveal that
- 54:14Speaker 3: you know she took out Jade and how that played out,
- 54:18Speaker 3: and she her finding her character with the proceed with
- 54:23Speaker 3: caution and all that, and then taking that winning the
- 54:28Speaker 3: money and the money in the bank briefcase, cashing in
- 54:31Speaker 3: an evolution like she did in what six seven months
- 54:40Speaker 3: this year, probably more than some women have done all
- 54:44Speaker 3: year who have been there from January to now, So
- 54:48Speaker 3: I really almost gave it to her. I'll also give
- 54:52Speaker 3: an honorable mention to Tony Storm. She's probably the best
- 54:56Speaker 3: non WWE women's performer in the business right now. She
- 55:00Speaker 3: definitely had a strong year over in aaw from the
- 55:04Speaker 3: feud she had with Mariah May that was a very
- 55:08Speaker 3: strong feud. Obviously, I wasn't watching Your Week the week,
- 55:11Speaker 3: but I did tap in here and there and see
- 55:14Speaker 3: it also would to give an honorable mention to j C.
- 55:20Speaker 3: Jane down at NXT. She is the women. She is
- 55:25Speaker 3: the current NXT Women's Champion, and she has really proved
- 55:31Speaker 3: a lot of doubters wrong this year because when she
- 55:36Speaker 3: became the NXT Women's Champion, a lot of people thought
- 55:40Speaker 3: she was going to be one of those transitional champions.
- 55:43Speaker 3: They're like, oh, they put the belt on her just
- 55:45Speaker 3: so she can drop it to a bigger star or
- 55:48Speaker 3: bigger name, And no, she has defended that title consistently.
- 55:54Speaker 3: She's had good matches in defending that title and won
- 55:58Speaker 3: and retained it. So she is she's done the work
- 56:03Speaker 3: of establishing herself as a legitimate champion in NXT and
- 56:08Speaker 3: shown and convinced people that she's not just you know,
- 56:12Speaker 3: some transitional She wasn't just keeping the belt warm for
- 56:16Speaker 3: a Jordan Grace or keeping the belt warm for you know,
- 56:20Speaker 3: a Kaline Jordan or somebody else of a bigger name
- 56:22Speaker 3: to come and take the title off of her. And like, no,
- 56:25Speaker 3: she's the champion. So she know, she deserves credit for that,
- 56:28Speaker 3: for putting that work in and you know, establishing herself
- 56:31Speaker 3: as a credible women's champion down at NXT, but start
- 56:36Speaker 3: to finish. Nobody had a better year than Bapy, better
- 56:40Speaker 3: for everything that you mentioned yourself. Wayne, from immediate women's
- 56:44Speaker 3: championship in NXT, come to the main roster, skyrocket to
- 56:49Speaker 3: Women's World Champion, Crown Jewel becomes the Crown Jewel Champion
- 56:55Speaker 3: and still going now still the women's World champion.
- 57:00Speaker 7: So yeah, yeah, absolutely, Doyle, what's your opinion?
- 57:07Speaker 6: Man, don't usually write out jokes ahead of time here,
- 57:13Speaker 6: but I did for this, and you guys kind of
- 57:16Speaker 6: stole my thunder on it a little bit, but I'm
- 57:18Speaker 6: gonna do it anyway. Congratulations Naomi, You're my Women's Wrestler
- 57:24Speaker 6: of the Year for twenty twenty five. That's what I
- 57:28Speaker 6: would be saying if she hadn't gotten pregnant. Yeah, so
- 57:32Speaker 6: it definitely shut out to Naomi. If she had remained
- 57:36Speaker 6: working all year. Nobody was more entertaining to me than her.
- 57:43Speaker 6: Any of these top three of mine you could have
- 57:46Speaker 6: probably interchanged.
- 57:48Speaker 2: I mean, they all had great years.
- 57:50Speaker 6: For number three, I'm gonna go with Stephanie velassa raptor
- 57:55Speaker 6: and frankly I penalized her for being so new. She
- 57:59Speaker 6: was fucking great.
- 58:00Speaker 2: She's great, you know.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Ah.
- 58:04Speaker 6: You know, I feel like we've talked about her a
- 58:05Speaker 6: lot on the show, which is fine.
- 58:07Speaker 2: She deserves it us. She and she also the number
- 58:11Speaker 2: two on my list.
- 58:13Speaker 6: Just they have kind of just a uniqueness about You
- 58:17Speaker 6: can't have it, you know, they always talk about it.
- 58:20Speaker 2: You can't teach it.
- 58:21Speaker 6: You It's hard to define it, but you know it
- 58:23Speaker 6: when you see it, and she has it.
- 58:24Speaker 2: She just has this effortless coolness.
- 58:27Speaker 6: You know, like when when she kind of does that
- 58:29Speaker 6: little head turn and puts that finger.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Out, Its just she looks cool.
- 58:33Speaker 3: Fuck you know what I mean, Yeah, immediate aura, right.
- 58:38Speaker 2: And it just looks effortless. You know.
- 58:40Speaker 6: Some people can do it, but it looks like they're trying.
- 58:43Speaker 6: She just looks like she's doing it. It comes natural.
- 58:46Speaker 11: Uh.
- 58:46Speaker 2: And I think I can say the same about number
- 58:48Speaker 2: two EO Sky. I think she's.
- 58:51Speaker 6: Probably the best uh in ring performer in the whole company,
- 58:55Speaker 6: male or female.
- 58:57Speaker 2: Uh, you know, if she's on the.
- 58:59Speaker 6: Car, if she's walking down the aisle, I think the
- 59:02Speaker 6: worst case scenario is you're gonna get a really good match,
- 59:06Speaker 6: you know, like that that's that's her that's her. Her
- 59:09Speaker 6: floor is a really good match, and the ceiling, of course,
- 59:12Speaker 6: is the match of the year. Unfortunately, wrestling is more
- 59:18Speaker 6: than about That's what happens in the ropes in between
- 59:20Speaker 6: the ropes, and that's why you know who it's gonna be.
- 59:23Speaker 2: You know who it's gonna be, Number one, the man
- 59:27Speaker 2: Becky Lynch. Uh much kind of like what I said
- 59:31Speaker 2: about Drew.
- 59:32Speaker 6: You know, uh, just fucking outstanding promos, outstanding matches, made
- 59:37Speaker 6: people better.
- 59:39Speaker 2: Uh you know, the use of social media.
- 59:42Speaker 6: She kind of took the best of the heel stuff
- 59:44Speaker 6: seeing him was doing, and the best stuff Drew was doing,
- 59:47Speaker 6: and the best stuff w W Hall of Famer, Uh
- 59:53Speaker 6: Fat Hitler is doing the kind of put it in
- 59:56Speaker 6: a blender and serve it up on a smoothie with
- 59:59Speaker 6: a nice little shadow Elemason.
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: On the side.
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: And uh, yes, man, she had every time she's on
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: the screen, I just I'm not looking at the phone,
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: you know. Uh, I just think I think she's fucking fantastic.
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: She's endlessly entertaining. Her heel turn has been fantastic and
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: I can't wait to see what she does next.
- 1:00:21Speaker 7: Cool.
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: Yeah, she definitely had a strong year.
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: Definitely hmmm, all right, guys, let's get in the tag teams.
- 1:00:34Speaker 7: Tag Team of the Year? Uh, all right, put this
- 1:00:42Speaker 7: it was a lot harder this year to pick tag
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: team of the year.
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: Was not a great tag team here, No, I'm gonna
- 1:00:49Speaker 6: just interject here.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: I'm gonna just interject here and go ahead and get
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: mine out the way. I don't have a Tag Team
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: of the Year. I don't feel like any tag team
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: had a strong enough year from start to finish to
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: warrant to warrant an award. If you look on the
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: men's side, SmackDown started off strong, and then the moment
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: they put the belts on the Y six, that tag
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: team division died. Raw tag team division been dead the
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: whole year. Women's Tag team division been pretty much dead
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: up until the end of this year where they finally
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: kind of picked it back up. You could maybe make
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: try to make an argument for Rio because of how
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: over and how popular that they are and how their
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: friendship stemmed from what started at the beginning of the
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: year as a rivalry, but again, it hasn't been in
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: existence long enough, so I mean, at least as far
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: as WWE goes, I don't think a tag team of
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: the Year exists now if you go outside the WWE, maybe,
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: but I don't watch outside of the ww enough to
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: make a choice of a non WWE tag team. That's
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: just my two cents on this, all right.
- 1:02:03Speaker 7: Doyle, let's hear your two cents before I get mine.
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: I guess.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: This one a lot of these categories.
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: I thought there was like a clear number one, and
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: then filling in honorable mentions and runners up and what
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: have you was was difficult. I totally agree with just
- 1:02:23Speaker 6: about everything. Dray said that most most tag teams either
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: seem like they were thrown together at the last seconds
- 1:02:29Speaker 6: or didn't really do much of anything. But there was
- 1:02:34Speaker 6: a tag team that I think not only kind of
- 1:02:38Speaker 6: came out of nowhere, dominated all year, you know, managed
- 1:02:45Speaker 6: to make two big stars even bigger, and I would argue.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Kind of finally solidified a division.
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: That re evolved, been kind of lamenting, has been, you know,
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: drownding in its own.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: Mediocrity. And that's Charloa Flair And I like the bliss.
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: Yes, I knew it. I fucking knew it. Yes, go ahead, Sorry.
- 1:03:09Speaker 12: Yeah, I mean they, I mean I think we met especially,
- 1:03:15Speaker 12: but I think all of us have been you know, like,
- 1:03:18Speaker 12: when are they going to figure this women's sag team
- 1:03:20Speaker 12: division out? And I think they're the ones that finally
- 1:03:23Speaker 12: turned the tide and look at the look at what's
- 1:03:25Speaker 12: going on now. We got like six real women's bag teams.
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: Yeah, and they're all you know, and I think they
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: finally figured out, which I've been saying since they started
- 1:03:35Speaker 6: this is like this is a great way to cycle
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: the main eventors out of the world title scene, you know,
- 1:03:41Speaker 6: because if you just have Charlotte constantly going for the title, Rie,
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: You're constantly going.
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: You know, you can't you can't do that.
- 1:03:47Speaker 6: You know, you have to give them something else to
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: do and something meaningful to do, uh, and something they
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: can do for months and months you know.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: If need be.
- 1:03:57Speaker 6: You know, look you've got you know, you've got off
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: good in the tag division. You got Rio Rio Ria
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: and in the tag division you got h Bailey in
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: the tag division. You know, so it's really, uh, they
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: really finally have this thing going in the right direction.
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: And the the glue I think.
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: That it was held alt together is Charlotte and Alecta.
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: Yeah. Man, I I won one hundred percent agree. Uh,
- 1:04:32Speaker 7: you know, the they became a dominant tag team, winning
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: at SummerSlam. You know, they they defeated like Chelsea Green
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: and Alba Fire Soul Rukas Sarah Sorry okay. They also
- 1:04:52Speaker 7: they got the winning qualifying matches at ww Evolution.
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: Pay per view, The Fun Tag Team too.
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: Yeah, exactly. There's so many other female tag teams, but
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: like I I agree, Doyle, Like, for me, the tag
- 1:05:06Speaker 7: team of the year is Alexa and Charlotte because so
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: many just it's been just so boring elsewhere in the
- 1:05:15Speaker 7: guys division. I mean, yes, we had we I'm not
- 1:05:17Speaker 7: saying we haven't had boring matches. I say just as
- 1:05:22Speaker 7: a tag team hole like you can't not even the
- 1:05:26Speaker 7: Judgment Day was even consistent this year as a tag team,
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: you know, with guys getting injured and or let go
- 1:05:34Speaker 7: or you know whatever have you know. But yeah, for me, man,
- 1:05:40Speaker 7: and you know, the biggest thing is like Charlotte was
- 1:05:43Speaker 7: really well hated and paring her up with Alexa kind
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: of yeah, I mean that that turned in. I Mean
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: you got people actually like happy to see these two together.
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: And the thing is like on their own, you know,
- 1:05:58Speaker 7: they're put them back on their own at any time,
- 1:06:01Speaker 7: and their main eventors again. You know, I love it,
- 1:06:04Speaker 7: and you're right, Doyle, it's it's a great way to
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: cycle out some of these main efen stars. And you know,
- 1:06:11Speaker 7: as much as I'd rather seeo and Ria going for
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: a women's world title, you know, but let's let's put
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: them in the tag title all the time you can,
- 1:06:20Speaker 7: and and doing this too gets them also for ones
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: who aren't, you know, a step closer maybe being a
- 1:06:28Speaker 7: Grand Slam champion. Now there's more titles to add to
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: your accolades. You know, you don't want to be maybe
- 1:06:34Speaker 7: just a person who held just one title your entire career.
- 1:06:37Speaker 7: Now you have a bunch of other titles you.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: Can go for.
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: But yeah, dude, I absolutely agree. So you could also
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: make an argument outside WW maybe the hardy boys still
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: giving it. They're all at their age, still on the
- 1:06:56Speaker 7: active roster and T and A I think it is.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: So.
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: I mean they held to the NXC titles this year.
- 1:07:07Speaker 7: That's crazy.
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: So it's not crazy.
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: They're not entirely outside of the umbrella.
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: I will say, I don't disagree with any arguments you
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: made about Charlotte and Alexa and the way you did
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: bring up an excellent point of the fact that, if
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: nothing else, probably their greatest accomplishment was making Charlotte likable again,
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: because yes, they completely turned her character around with the fans,
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: pairing her up with Alexa and that dynamic and just
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: Charlotte being more lighthearted and having fun that she.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: You know, yeah, she's getting she's gonna we do not
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: like you.
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: Right, And she started, you know, being a bit more
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: open and vulnerable, and then like paired up with Alexa,
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: started being more lighthearted and fun and almost kind of
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: making fun of herself at times, and you know what
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: her former Order character used to be, completely turned her
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: all around. So yeah, the only reason why I didn't
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: give it to them, like I said, it was just
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: time wise, you know, I don't They didn't come together
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: really until like the second half of the year, so
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: that was my only knock against it. Like, but other
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: than that, y'all are both correct that they probably were
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: the best tag team in WWE this year.
- 1:08:32Speaker 13: Hello, ladies and gentlemen, this is Sir David Atamara. As
- 1:08:38Speaker 13: you know, pro wrestling over the years has become incredibly overwhelming.
- 1:08:44Speaker 13: We have Monday Night Raw at three hours, NXT at
- 1:08:49Speaker 13: two hours, smack Down at two hours, and some shit
- 1:08:54Speaker 13: called Evolve and g let's us not forget TNA and
- 1:09:00Speaker 13: a w also then some other wall start time p
- 1:09:05Speaker 13: l E at eight am. Anyways, what I'm driving at
- 1:09:10Speaker 13: is the time pc W Watson for you every day
- 1:09:14Speaker 13: to cover up all this bloody shit. So the least
- 1:09:19Speaker 13: you can do is head over to Pro Wrestling Teas
- 1:09:22Speaker 13: dot com and look up your favorite wrestling podcast and
- 1:09:27Speaker 13: buy a coddown shirt.
- 1:09:29Speaker 7: You are a mark, can't you.
- 1:09:32Speaker 13: I'm wearing one right now. I showed us on support
- 1:09:35Speaker 13: and got some for friends and am I can't wait
- 1:09:40Speaker 13: for them to open their gifts and go Who the
- 1:09:44Speaker 13: fuck is Podcast Championship for Wrestling?
- 1:09:53Speaker 7: Okay, and we're back all right. Next category, we're going
- 1:09:58Speaker 7: to do return of the or maybe a wrestler who
- 1:10:01Speaker 7: was returned from injury, returned from maybe a contract signing,
- 1:10:07Speaker 7: you know, maybe they're from a different company or you
- 1:10:11Speaker 7: know something else. Well anyway, uh.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Ei.
- 1:10:18Speaker 7: The three wrestlers I have on here, I'm gonna go
- 1:10:20Speaker 7: from least to most surprising. Matt Cardona. I brought him up.
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: He was in the John Cenah you know My Time
- 1:10:30Speaker 7: is Now tournament. He was also mentioned in John Cena's
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: pipe Bomb this year, which I thought was kind of funny,
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: the irony of him being mentioned in the pipe bomb
- 1:10:39Speaker 7: and then him showing up a couple of months later.
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: But uh, it's nice seeing him now working with his
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: with his wife in the same company. I think he's
- 1:10:50Speaker 7: been going like five six years now, and maybe it
- 1:10:54Speaker 7: just seemed longer. But it's great seeing him back. Very
- 1:11:00Speaker 7: surprised brock Lessnar came back. Didn't see that coming. I
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: don't think a lot of us saw that coming, with
- 1:11:08Speaker 7: all the allegations and all the other stuff we've heard
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: possibly heard about brock Lesnar not knowing what is or
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: is not true. Uh, but most of all, most surprising
- 1:11:25Speaker 7: return for me. And I'm pretty sure you guys might
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: have this person on your list too. But aj Lee,
- 1:11:32Speaker 7: God damn. Who would have thought A j Lee would
- 1:11:36Speaker 7: have ever come back to the company. And it's kind
- 1:11:39Speaker 7: of funny because I think last year I gave this
- 1:11:41Speaker 7: award to see him punk for a Return of the Year.
- 1:11:47Speaker 7: Uh yeah, a J Lee, Holy shit, and she got
- 1:11:53Speaker 7: to have a match. Still in great shape, hasn't missed
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: a fucking step. So uh, Dre you what what's say you?
- 1:12:04Speaker 7: Return of the Year.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: Okay, So yeah, this is definitely one of those categories
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: where depends on how you, well it was called it
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: comeback of the year, how you view it, whether it's
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: you know, your criterion, aia of most, which one surprised
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: you were shocked you the most, or.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: Have a category for that.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: It's it can be interpreted different ways, I think because
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: I for a while I struggle with how to pick
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: this one and was kind of thinking of like comeback return,
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: something like of that nature. Right, So my honorable mention
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: does go to aj Lee because yeah, just that comeback
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: or her return, that moment itself was I think out
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: of out of all wrestlers who came who returned this year,
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: be it the you know, the Matt Cardona, the Dolph Ziggler,
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: Lesnar or you know Alexa and Charlotte and all them
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: who returned this year, I think she probably had the
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: biggest single singular return moment, you know, when that from
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: that promo, that punk cut where you know, you know,
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: I'm I never put my hands on a woman. Thankfully
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: I got somebody who will, and then her music hit
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: and that fucking pop from that crowd was you gotta
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: be you know, top top top fifteen, Top twenty something. Yeah,
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: I think that pop was that big that it could
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: be on somebody's count down list of biggest pops quite
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: possibly ever. But it was that big. And they see
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: reactions from people online, like you know, people who were
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: who watched aj when she was when they were kids
- 1:14:02Speaker 3: and now they're young adults or whatever, and seeing him
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: come back and seeing what that meant to those people,
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Like I saw reactions of people literally crying at her return,
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: Like the moment her music hit, they burst into tears.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: They were that happy, Like very few wrestlers can elicit
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: that kind of emotion in a return. So that's definitely
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: probably my runner up for Comeback of the Year. I
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: would also give a shout out to Alexa Bliss at
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: Royal Rumble because hers was unexpected. We did not think
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: that we were getting in Alexa bliss return. We knew
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: she was healthy for a while because from you know,
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: having had the kid, but we just didn't see anything
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: and there was no no build up, no announcement, no nothing,
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: and then her music hits and her return completely outshine
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: Charlotte's return, which is the return that we knew was
- 1:14:56Speaker 3: happening at the rumble and you had Alexa Blizz is
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: the one who got the bigger pop, so you shout
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: out to Alexa Bliss. But my comeback of the year
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: is not about who had the big pop or who
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: had the shock or surprise. It's about the person who
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: came back, and yes, their return was a big deal,
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: but they came back and then performed at the top
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: of their game afterwards. And that person is the man
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Becky Lynch. She is my comeback of the year from
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: the moment she came back at WrestleMania to a again
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: huge pop, and since then she has shown that she
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: hasn't missed a beat. She's been performing at the top
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: of her game. As you mentioned before, Doyle, she's been
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: elevating the next generation of talent, from her working with
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: Lyra Valkyria to putting over her Maxine dupri with the
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: inter Continental Championship, just her holding that Intercontinental Championship, making
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: that title seem like a big deal, making it relevant,
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: and then doing some of her best character He'll work with,
- 1:16:13Speaker 3: you know, parodying Donald Trump and all that stuff, like Hm,
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: she came She didn't just come back for a moment
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: and then fall off or disappear. She came back and
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: kept it going and kept that energy throughout the entire year.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: So she's my back of the Year for the return
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: and the continued excellence from then on.
- 1:16:40Speaker 7: Awesome.
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: I totally totally forgot that she came.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: I did too for a minute until I watched the
- 1:16:48Speaker 3: video of comebacks and I'm like, she did come back
- 1:16:50Speaker 3: at WrestleMania.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: What do you got that.
- 1:16:56Speaker 7: On your list?
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: Well, I'm just kind of got with what I had.
- 1:17:00Speaker 6: Uh Number three, I'm gonna go with Dragon Off.
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:17:06Speaker 6: Just these were I think I think we all purchased
- 1:17:09Speaker 6: maybe a little differently. I kind of I kind of
- 1:17:11Speaker 6: just went with people. I was happiest to see Bach
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: I suppose. Uh And you know, I don't know that
- 1:17:17Speaker 6: there was a I think we knew he was maybe cleared,
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: but didn't know when he would pop up. Uh So
- 1:17:23Speaker 6: he was a nice surprise when he came up, and
- 1:17:24Speaker 6: he's you know, I don't know that he's got too
- 1:17:27Speaker 6: many tricks in his bag, but the one trick he
- 1:17:30Speaker 6: does have is really good.
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: I don't know that the.
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: Dragon Off match is appropriate for all occasions, but when
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: it is, they're they're really fun.
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Uh So I'm glad to see him back.
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: Number two, I would go with Bronson Reid. He's just
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: been a fucking he can't you know. I was really
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: when he got hurt. I guess in last year's War
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: Games or two years.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: Ago war Games.
- 1:17:56Speaker 6: Uh, he was just starting to creep his way up there,
- 1:17:59Speaker 6: and I was, oh, God, damn it, he's gonna lose
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: all his momentum. But boy was I wrong. He came
- 1:18:04Speaker 6: back like a fucking house of fire. And you know,
- 1:18:08Speaker 6: he's still not I wouldn't say he's not a viable
- 1:18:11Speaker 6: world title contender yet, but he fucking laid the fucking
- 1:18:15Speaker 6: dogs sit out of Roman reigns a couple of times,
- 1:18:18Speaker 6: solo man shoes, you know, like, so he managed to
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: he managed to come.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: Back bigger than ever. Uh and he's still ascended.
- 1:18:27Speaker 13: Uh.
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: So I was great to.
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: See him back, and I'm glad he's been doing well.
- 1:18:32Speaker 6: God we need to get him a new outfit.
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: But other than that, I'm glad to see him back. Yeah.
- 1:18:39Speaker 6: But my comeback of the year is the Impress of Tomorrow,
- 1:18:45Speaker 6: who came back and immediately.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: Went right into the Queen of the Ring Finals. Almost one.
- 1:18:53Speaker 6: He has been part of that revitalization of the women's
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: tag or the vitalization. Maybe you have to get to
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: be vitalized before you can get revitalized.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: I suppose.
- 1:19:05Speaker 6: She's been a huge part of making the tag titles matter. Yeah,
- 1:19:11Speaker 6: I mean she instantly inserts credibility into.
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: The women's division. She's, for my money, one of the
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: best women's performers.
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: Of all time.
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: She was out for almost two years, a year and
- 1:19:23Speaker 6: a half, I thinks.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: Oh, okay, not as long as I thought, but still
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: it was great to see her back. She's one of
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: my favorites of all time. So I went with Octave
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: for come Back of the Year.
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: That's a good choice because I can't get and I
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: can't give every every award to Beggy Lynch.
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: As right, I had, I had you back on this one.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: Sorry, I gave. I gave back some hardware coming up.
- 1:19:53Speaker 7: That's all right, all right, m Best promo of the year,
- 1:20:04Speaker 7: Promo the year. Yeah, this is one I was excited
- 1:20:10Speaker 7: for because we we had three different ones. Uh, I
- 1:20:19Speaker 7: wanna start Doyle's What we can do is Doyle, if
- 1:20:23Speaker 7: you want, if we can, if you want to listen
- 1:20:25Speaker 7: to it first and then discuss it, we can do that.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: Why don't Why don't I give you my honorable mentions
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: or whatever? And then I do that?
- 1:20:35Speaker 7: Yeah, go for him.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: So I'm gonna give you more than three. Uh. I just,
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: I just these are the ones that stuck.
- 1:20:41Speaker 6: Out when I was rewatching some of these, So just
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: in no particular and I imagine maybe one of these
- 1:20:49Speaker 6: will be one of your winners.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: Whatever. Naomi's pregnancy announcement.
- 1:20:53Speaker 12: Uh.
- 1:20:54Speaker 6: Stephanie Velociraptors post title promo.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:20:59Speaker 6: John Cena with his first post heal promo when it
- 1:21:04Speaker 6: was like we are in a toxic relationship and the
- 1:21:07Speaker 6: pipe bomb seth Rowlins is pre WrestleMania promo where he
- 1:21:11Speaker 6: just shit all over Phil Brooks for like ten minutes.
- 1:21:14Speaker 6: It was wonderful, but without further ado my number one.
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: Yeah, there we go.
- 1:21:22Speaker 11: I I wasn't beaten on Saturday. No, No, Lyra was
- 1:21:30Speaker 11: beaten on Saturday.
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Oh you don't.
- 1:21:35Speaker 10: You don't believe me, No, you don't, you don't believe me.
- 1:21:39Speaker 11: Well, one of us was taken to a hospital. Her
- 1:21:43Speaker 11: and one of us went to their nice big boss,
- 1:21:46Speaker 11: had a nice warm shower, drag a shot of tequila
- 1:21:50Speaker 11: and basting their brilliance.
- 1:21:52Speaker 14: Met and uh.
- 1:22:00Speaker 11: Because because even after everything that Lyra has done to me,
- 1:22:06Speaker 11: after she came out week after week and attacked my character,
- 1:22:09Speaker 11: the person that I am, I still made her the
- 1:22:12Speaker 11: best version of herself. I gave her the best match
- 1:22:17Speaker 11: of her career, and in just three weeks of standing
- 1:22:21Speaker 11: on the outskirts of my spotlight, she has never mattered
- 1:22:26Speaker 11: more than she.
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Does right now in her entire life. And it is
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: not even close.
- 1:22:37Speaker 10: But but when the bell rang after the match, I
- 1:22:50Speaker 10: didn't hear defeat, no, no, no.
- 1:22:52Speaker 11: What I heard was an alarm ringing in my ear,
- 1:22:56Speaker 11: and I realized how much I had been manipulated, not
- 1:22:59Speaker 11: just by Lyra, but by all of you.
- 1:23:09Speaker 7: Do you do you do.
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: You want to know?
- 1:23:11Speaker 11: Do you want to know why I walked away from
- 1:23:13Speaker 11: this for almost a year because you asked me to
- 1:23:19Speaker 11: the last that the last time that I won the
- 1:23:21Speaker 11: World Championship, I felt that I heard the reaction, I
- 1:23:26Speaker 11: saw all your comments online, and.
- 1:23:28Speaker 10: So I stepped away because if I'm.
- 1:23:29Speaker 11: Not here to win World Championships, then why am I here?
- 1:23:33Speaker 11: But hey, hey, no, look, I've always been for the people.
- 1:23:38Speaker 11: I've always been for the people, So whatever you want,
- 1:23:40Speaker 11: because hey man, I have you to thank for my career?
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:23:45Speaker 11: You guys, you carried me on your shoulders into the
- 1:23:48Speaker 11: main main event of WrestleMania. You saw yourselves in me.
- 1:23:54Speaker 11: I was you, you were me.
- 1:23:55Speaker 7: We were in.
- 1:23:56Speaker 11: This together, right, But that some the thing happened, something happened.
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: I won, I won, and.
- 1:24:04Speaker 11: You couldn't see yourselves in me anymore because you can't
- 1:24:08Speaker 11: recognize success because all you know is failure. Jeezh uh
- 1:24:18Speaker 11: and yeah you Hey, what you cannot understand?
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: You want to you want to know something.
- 1:24:25Speaker 11: When I was at when I was at one of
- 1:24:26Speaker 11: my friends, they asked me, they said, hey, do you
- 1:24:29Speaker 11: do you miss it? And I had I had a thought.
- 1:24:32Speaker 11: I said, hey, no, I do I miss being in
- 1:24:35Speaker 11: the ring. But it's weird.
- 1:24:37Speaker 15: I like myself more and.
- 1:24:41Speaker 11: I almost I didn't understand what I was saying, but
- 1:24:44Speaker 11: now I do because I wasn't captured by all of you.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: No, I didn't.
- 1:24:50Speaker 11: I didn't have to listen to you tell me who I.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: Am and what I'm about.
- 1:24:55Speaker 11: I didn't have to listen to all of your lies,
- 1:24:59Speaker 11: the same lies that I hear repeated from the one
- 1:25:03Speaker 11: person that I had hoped for in this business.
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: I didn't have to spin my wheels trying to prove.
- 1:25:10Speaker 11: Myself that I wasn't why you say I am. But
- 1:25:13Speaker 11: that all changes because from now on, whatever.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: You say I am, I am.
- 1:25:19Speaker 11: So I'm selfish, Yes I am.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: I'm greedy, Yes I am.
- 1:25:25Speaker 11: I got throat, Yes I am.
- 1:25:32Speaker 16: And all those girls, all those girls in the back
- 1:25:36Speaker 16: that were happy I was gone, that thought it was
- 1:25:38Speaker 16: safe because the fire had gone out of Becky Lynch, where.
- 1:25:42Speaker 11: They're finally gonna realize what it's like to be held
- 1:25:45Speaker 11: down by the man.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: The one thing I'll say is, apparently the fire has
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: it got out of Becky Lynch.
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: I didn't to say to realize she was making to
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: come back.
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: And then my promo the year is about how she
- 1:26:03Speaker 6: was making to come back.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: Drug skill, brain cells. Kids, don't let anybody tell you different.
- 1:26:09Speaker 2: But that was a fucking masterclass, man. I mean the
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: way she totally in One Fell Swoop, she.
- 1:26:14Speaker 6: Totally reframed, you know, like reframes her character, kind of
- 1:26:18Speaker 6: takes back that like, you know, when was the last
- 1:26:21Speaker 6: time I heard.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: Becky Hogan, right?
- 1:26:23Speaker 6: Uh, she kind of takes kind of takes back that narrative,
- 1:26:26Speaker 6: throws in.
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: The fans' faces.
- 1:26:29Speaker 6: This was just a master I think I've probably listened
- 1:26:32Speaker 6: to this like four times today.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Trying to decide, and every fucking time I'm just like, God,
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: damn it.
- 1:26:39Speaker 6: Uh so for me, that that was it, man, that
- 1:26:42Speaker 6: was that was a master class right there.
- 1:26:46Speaker 7: Uh dre, let's get into a euro Promo of the
- 1:26:51Speaker 7: Year is.
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Okay. So I will admit it was hard to try
- 1:26:57Speaker 3: to remember some standout promos, especially as many of them
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: as we hear throughout the year. Probably need to do
- 1:27:07Speaker 3: something like mark them shits in discord or something just
- 1:27:10Speaker 3: like raw June thirteenth, so and so and so so
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: Promo the Year nominee, so I can go back and
- 1:27:17Speaker 3: like find these joints at the end of the year.
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: But so pretty much the way I came up with
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: my promo over the year was which one stood out
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: the most to me, And there were two moments that
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: stood out the most from me. One was a promo
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: exchange involving Doyle's recipient of Promo of the Year, Becky Lynch,
- 1:27:40Speaker 3: and it was the promo exchange she had with Nicki Bella,
- 1:27:44Speaker 3: and it stood out to me for that stick fucking
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: burn that Becky gave to Nicki Bella when she mentioned
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: something about I think Nicky Bella said something about Seth
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: Rollins and and then you know, Becky claps back, you know,
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: don't bring up my hot husband or anything like that.
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: Or we talked about something with John Cinda or somebody
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: your extent, and she goes, oh wait, you can't see
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: him anymore, And it just got a right That one
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: I remember sticking out stuck out for me because like, yeah,
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: she burned the shit out of fucking Nicky Bella with that.
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: But my promo of the year, the one that that
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: I remember that stuck with me the most, uh, just
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: for how fun it was and even going back and
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: listening to it again today, Yeah, it was damn good promo.
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: And that would be see him punk countering John Cena's
- 1:28:47Speaker 3: pipe bomb promo, which was another good one, but see
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: him punk clap back with his own doctor of punk
- 1:28:57Speaker 3: a nomics. Is that what he called it, I believe,
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: basically taking a page out of John Cena's book and
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: giving his own rap.
- 1:29:06Speaker 15: This to John Cena, yo, yo, chucking, This is basic punkonomics.
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: Don't adjust your television set. Your eyes are working just right.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: This clown plagiarized my pipe bomb. So now I'm stealing
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: word life and you had to rip me off to
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: cut your best promo just to distract from the fact
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: that we all see you move in slow mo. Remember
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: when he used to wrap. Yeah, you deserve all the criticism.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: You're like a TMU mackelmore but with mackleless rhythm. And
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: he said, I'm a problem. He called me a player hater.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: Let's be honest. John cena is buryed more talent than
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: the Undertaker. That's why he's the champ. And he went
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: and lost all his respects. But hey, John, I get it.
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: I'd retire too. If this place rehired my ex, if
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: you never said your players vitamins or fixed your bald spot,
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: you wouldn't be a pro wrestler. He'd be a Boston
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: mall cop.
- 1:30:48Speaker 3: But hey, he.
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: Gets good movie roles that much as a fact. But
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: then we see Batista act and we realize that John
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: ain't that same shirt. Say, man, your persona state tragic.
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: You're like a fish belly white Hulk Cogan, but somehow
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: more problematic.
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: Yo.
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: Yo.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: When it comes to best in the world, I'm your
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: vessel because millions chant my name, and at you, they
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: chant you can't wrestle. Get it in while you can.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: In six months he'll be gone and I'll still be
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: here having fun. He won't have time for you little
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: people anymore. He'll be busy washing underwears for James Gunn. Yeah,
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: he's a superhero now he works for DC. But no
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: matter how hard you try, you still always be the
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: Marine to me. And that's straight to DVD. Better find
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: a PS three. I now understand you can't see me.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: It's a hell of a catchphrase, John, But now it's
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: all done because we all see you and we're looking
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: at a washed up bum. Oh fourteen years ago today
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: I dropped a legendary pipe bomb, and you try to
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: make it all about you, because that's what you do.
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: John.
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: You're a leech, you're a phony, you're a fraud, you're
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: an ass kiss Seventeen time world champion, but ain't never
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: been on my class. Before you go, John, there's one
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: more wish to make tomorrow night. You're gonna lose the
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: Kendrick because bitch, you're my drake.
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: Absolutely up, John, and that thing and the crowd was
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: beating up every single line of it.
- 1:33:38Speaker 7: Yeah, dude, oh man, that was good. It was really
- 1:33:44Speaker 7: good and and you know what, dre like, I almost,
- 1:33:50Speaker 7: I would say, honorable mention. I almost chose the John
- 1:33:53Speaker 7: Cena pipe bomb that was gonna be mine. And it
- 1:33:57Speaker 7: was just a coincidences. That was the one that you
- 1:34:00Speaker 7: and I kind of laughed about it, but I was like, nah,
- 1:34:03Speaker 7: that's my honorable mention. But then l there was one
- 1:34:08Speaker 7: recently in December by Punk and he was cutting a
- 1:34:14Speaker 7: promo on bron Breaker. Let's give it a listen.
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: If you saw Wargames, you saw what happened to me,
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: and I'm here to tell you, ladies and gentlemen, it hurt,
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: but it wasn't as painful as the last two weeks
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: of me sitting my ass on my couch listening.
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: To braun Breaker talk.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: Bron Breaker, you cross eyed Deanderthal Nepo baby, you came
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: out here in front of the world and with your
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: full chest talked about how you were mad that I
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: tried to end your career and break your neck in
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: the war games. And I understand that brains don't exactly
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: run and your family, but you didn't sign up for
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: board games. You signed up for war Son and congratulations
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: your team won, but you had the audacity to stand
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: in the Champs ring and talk about how you're disappointed
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: and how easy it was to beat CM punk. You
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: talk about how easy it was to pin my shoulders
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: to the mat, You talk about how you want twenty
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: eleven CM punk, and I'm here to tell you, kid,
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: you can't handle twenty twenty five CM punk without a
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: lot of help from your friends to try to make
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: this short and sweet. Kid, I've been here before many
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: many times, and you can ask Paul Hammon how many
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: times he took a talent with a little bit of
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: potential and gassed him up too much, too soon, only
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: to watch him wilt under those bright lights. And speaking
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: of dimes, if you ever mentioned my wife's name again,
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: this goes from business to personal faster than you can run,
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: and it won't be about the belt anymore, because I'm
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: gonna rip your eyes out of your head and piss
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: on your single DIGITIQ brain January five. I would tell
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: you to show up alone. I would challenge you to
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: test yourself one on one against the best in the world,
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: but I know you won't do it. And it's not
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: because you don't have the balls. It's because you don't
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: have the heart. You don't got the belief in yourself.
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: It takes to carry this company on your shoulders to
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: wear this gold. So go ahead, Bronnie, Bring Paul Hayman,
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: bring the Vision, Bring your mystery mask man, bring the
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: National Guard.
- 1:36:53Speaker 7: Hell.
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: I want you to call up your dumb father and
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: his dumber brother Scott.
- 1:36:59Speaker 7: Bring them.
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: Then you're gonna need all hands on deck. You're gonna
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: need every bit of help you can get. The stand
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: a snowballs chance in hell of beating me for this title.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: When I win, and when you wake up and you
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: look around and you see that Paul Hayman has left
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: you for the next next big thing, and Bronson Reed
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: is reduced to do in tiktoks.
- 1:37:21Speaker 3: With the YouTube scammer, and your.
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: Mystery man never even showed his face because he's embarrassed
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: to be involved. Well, the only two people that you're
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: gonna have left is dumb and dumber, your dad and
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: his brother. And in real time, all three of you
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: are gonna find out that even with Steiner Matt GTS
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: equals one two three, you lose. I win and still
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: heavyweight champion of the world, the best in the world.
- 1:37:55Speaker 3: See and.
- 1:38:01Speaker 7: Just the passion. You know, that's just not stumbling any words,
- 1:38:07Speaker 7: the way he just fucking delivers it. I just fucking
- 1:38:11Speaker 7: I just love it. I mean, can we all agree
- 1:38:13Speaker 7: whenever you give seeing Punk the fucking microphone, you kind
- 1:38:16Speaker 7: of you just lean forward just a little bit, and
- 1:38:19Speaker 7: yet you want to hear what the fuck he has
- 1:38:21Speaker 7: to say.
- 1:38:22Speaker 6: Rights, I like him a lot more when I can't
- 1:38:29Speaker 6: see him.
- 1:38:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's pretty clear that Punk is probably
- 1:38:37Speaker 3: the best person they have on the mike in the
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: company right now. I don't think he pretty much doesn't
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: miss with any of his promos, and it stems from that. Yeah,
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: it's that intensity, it's that passion that he brings to
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: his promos, and he does it while also enough being
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: well spoken, like he's not cutting these promos, just using
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: you know, simple red meat, smooth brain sentences, you know,
- 1:39:09Speaker 3: And that to me, that's the part that I appreciate
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: most of his promos. That it's just there's a level
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: of intelligence mixed in with that passion that he brings
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: with his pump promos.
- 1:39:24Speaker 7: Absolutely. Yeah, I think we also gave oh I gave
- 1:39:30Speaker 7: him also last year promo. I forget which one, but
- 1:39:36Speaker 7: I mean it's either him or like, you know, Drew.
- 1:39:40Speaker 7: I mean, heaven forbid if Kevin Owens was like on
- 1:39:43Speaker 7: the roster right now, but he's on the injured roster,
- 1:39:45Speaker 7: you know, like he'd be slaying it too. I mean
- 1:39:48Speaker 7: there's something we just we do have some top tier
- 1:39:51Speaker 7: guys on the mic. It's just that right now at
- 1:39:55Speaker 7: the best in the world is this punk right now?
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: He does it. He does it in punk. Also, he
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: does it without relying not a dig at the Rock
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: or anybody else like that, but he does it without
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: relying on repeating catchphrases week in and week out. Yeah,
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: every promo is its own and it is its own
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: unique thing. It's its own unique entity.
- 1:40:20Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I mean I hate the I hate to
- 1:40:23Speaker 7: do it hard. You know who is doing that though,
- 1:40:27Speaker 7: and who's relying on strictly just catchphrases right now? To
- 1:40:30Speaker 7: get by Jay Uso. It just comes out in the
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: crowd yeat you know, Uso penitentiary that the same fucking
- 1:40:42Speaker 7: handful of catchphrases, get in the ring, run it back,
- 1:40:48Speaker 7: have a match, that's it, man, Like, think about their promos. Yeah, yes,
- 1:40:53Speaker 7: that's just him. Either, there's there's guys. There's guys who
- 1:40:55Speaker 7: were like that, like l A. Knight.
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: You could argue that song it's just me, but it's
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: not just him anymore.
- 1:41:01Speaker 7: Yeah, no, this is this fucking guy. I'm looking at
- 1:41:08Speaker 7: the bigger picture. But yes, I get it. But uh yeah,
- 1:41:12Speaker 7: it's just when you don to rely on cashphrases, raight,
- 1:41:15Speaker 7: You're absolutely right, Like when you kind of promo like.
- 1:41:17Speaker 3: That, damn yeah, and it's hard to do, Like it
- 1:41:21Speaker 3: is hard to do, you know. Granted, it's hard to
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: come up with catchphrases that resonate with fans that they
- 1:41:26Speaker 3: will stick with. So I mean, once you get one,
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: you know, I'm not gonna fault any wrestler for latching
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: on to it. You know, all the best have them.
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: Yeah, you're gonna get every dime out of it.
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: Yeah, Actually, all of the best people have a catchphrase.
- 1:41:42Speaker 3: Matter of fact, you can't think you can't name a
- 1:41:46Speaker 3: a top wrestler of all time and not associate some
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: sort of statement. It's not multiple right exactly. So I
- 1:41:55Speaker 3: mean there's again not taking a dig at catchphrases at all,
- 1:41:59Speaker 3: you know. But Hunk, which sets him apart from most
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: others is that his promos don't rely on those. Yeah.
- 1:42:07Speaker 2: I mean he does come out and always say it's
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: great to.
- 1:42:09Speaker 7: Be alive and.
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: You know whatever.
- 1:42:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, yeah he does that. Yeah, yeah, but
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: you know, something to warm up the crowd. You know,
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: I'm not faulting him on that, just because after that,
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: it's he's getting into something different every time.
- 1:42:32Speaker 7: From what the Miss said from his interview I listened to,
- 1:42:37Speaker 7: he says it takes about average of two years for
- 1:42:40Speaker 7: a catchphrase to like really, you know, catch it's really
- 1:42:45Speaker 7: stick with you. He's you gotta here's you gotta go
- 1:42:48Speaker 7: out there every night and you gotta just drive that
- 1:42:51Speaker 7: word and shove it down their throat. Hees. He is
- 1:42:54Speaker 7: what I came up with it, I'm the miss and
- 1:42:58Speaker 7: I'm awesome. They didn't not like it. They did not
- 1:43:01Speaker 7: think it was gonna be a good idea. But I
- 1:43:02Speaker 7: was like, no, it's good, just how you say it,
- 1:43:06Speaker 7: you know. And then he just kept pushing it down
- 1:43:09Speaker 7: our throats and like now that's one of the catchphrases.
- 1:43:12Speaker 7: Like he can go I'm the misz and and like
- 1:43:16Speaker 7: we finish it, they'll hold the mic up and exactly,
- 1:43:20Speaker 7: he jumps.
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: Yeah, there's an element of truth to that. You have
- 1:43:24Speaker 3: to think so, because part of it is it's not
- 1:43:28Speaker 3: just the phrase itself, but how you say it, you know,
- 1:43:32Speaker 3: the timing, and you know, also getting yourself over as
- 1:43:36Speaker 3: a character. I mean, you can have a catchphrase, but
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: if don't, nobody like your ass, they don't give a
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: ship what you're saying.
- 1:43:42Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:43:42Speaker 3: Yeah, perfect example of it, could of seeing one evolve
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: over time, would be the rocks if you smell what
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: the rock is cooking? Yeah, if you think from when
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: he first started using it, where he would just say
- 1:43:58Speaker 3: it at the end of it, you know, at at
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: the end of the promo, would say yeah, yeada, if
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: you smell what the rocker is cooking or whatever, you know,
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: and then eventually became part of his interesting but it
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: was do you smell with the rockers cooking? And he
- 1:44:12Speaker 3: eventually tweaked it, you know, worked on it, amped it
- 1:44:15Speaker 3: up a little bit more to where we finally got
- 1:44:18Speaker 3: to the smell where he finally got it there, you know,
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: into its you know, final form more or less. So yeah,
- 1:44:26Speaker 3: that I would say, probably not too far off if
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: he says, you know, two years, I don't know how
- 1:44:33Speaker 3: long it took holding to get over with what you're
- 1:44:36Speaker 3: going to do or you know, stone Colds, that's the
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: bottom line, you know. But I think I think actually
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: Stone Cold touched on that himself with in his Chris
- 1:44:47Speaker 3: van Vliet interview, he mentioned that he said that's the
- 1:44:51Speaker 3: bottom line the stone Cold said so long before it
- 1:44:54Speaker 3: really did catch on with fans. He said he used
- 1:44:58Speaker 3: it before in promo, but didn't really he he used
- 1:45:05Speaker 3: it in the past, I think he said in his career,
- 1:45:07Speaker 3: but wasn't really banking on it as being a catchphrase.
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: But then when he did is King of the Ring promo,
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: and obviously, you know, when Austin three sixteen was born,
- 1:45:19Speaker 3: he was talking about that promo, like you know, I
- 1:45:21Speaker 3: think he had come back to the arena after getting
- 1:45:24Speaker 3: stitched up. They had told him what said Michael Hayesy
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: told him what Jake the Snake had said. So then
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: he came up with the three sixteen line off the top,
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: you know, to counter that with Austin three sixteen. And
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: then he said he needed something to put a button
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: on the promo, something to cap it off, and so
- 1:45:42Speaker 3: he reached back to a line he used to say
- 1:45:45Speaker 3: in the past was and that's the bottom line. And
- 1:45:49Speaker 3: then he just added it on there and that's why it,
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: you know, went from there. But again, that's a line
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: he used way back in the past that he brought
- 1:46:00Speaker 3: forward with this new character that he had and then
- 1:46:06Speaker 3: it took off. So yeah, missus, Brian Hut's not wrong
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: at all, but he's saying, you know, two years or
- 1:46:12Speaker 3: more to get something like that to really stick.
- 1:46:15Speaker 6: It's funny you mentioned Austin and that because, uh, if
- 1:46:19Speaker 6: you watch any anything, any WWE.
- 1:46:22Speaker 2: Produced thing about Austin, they'll tell you that the.
- 1:46:26Speaker 6: Next night, the whole arena was filled with Austin three
- 1:46:30Speaker 6: sixteen signs and happened.
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that is not how it happened. It took Yeah,
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: it took months for that.
- 1:46:37Speaker 6: John Well, you know, it took at least a couple
- 1:46:40Speaker 6: of weeks for to got CHOHn h Yeah, it's a
- 1:46:44Speaker 6: little revision of history there.
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: But yeah, you're absolutely right.
- 1:46:46Speaker 6: And the overnights, overnight sensations rarely uh are overnight.
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: Hell no, you're absolutely right, because it is crazy that
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: they tried to say that like people people weren't there,
- 1:47:01Speaker 3: like we were there, we saw it. Austin was still
- 1:47:05Speaker 3: a heel when he said Austin three sixteen right, he
- 1:47:09Speaker 3: was still a heel going into the next year, because
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: the next year after the King of the Ring is
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: when he faced Brett Hart at Russellmania thirteen, when Brett
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: was the face and Austin was the heel and.
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: Austin three sixteains was blasphemous also, you know.
- 1:47:28Speaker 3: Like yeah, so like it wasn't It was months after
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: the King of the Ring before the Austin three sixteen
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: really took off.
- 1:47:39Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I mean, how good or whether they're practicing
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: or not whatever, but I would imagine a majority of
- 1:47:45Speaker 6: your audience is in fact Christian and.
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: Something like Austin Tracy.
- 1:47:51Speaker 6: You know, you say your prayers whatever, you know, you
- 1:47:53Speaker 6: think it matters, it doesn't matter.
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: Austin Trace, you know you think that would be highly offensives.
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: Yeah, blessed, stone cold, blessed, don't cold tell, he says,
- 1:48:03Speaker 3: stone cold says himself. Though that surprisingly to him, not
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: as many religious people as you would think hated it,
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: he said, He got, you know, pastors or you know,
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: preachers and stuff, total like and you ain't upset about
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: that as no, man, I love that thing. Like again,
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: another thing he mentioned in the in the Chris VanVleet interview.
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: But yeah, he talked about that too, about the religious backlash.
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: He thought he was gonna get to Austin three sixteen
- 1:48:32Speaker 3: and it turned out not as bad as he thought
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: it was gonna be.
- 1:48:35Speaker 7: Hmm, all right, guys, let's move on to the next one.
- 1:48:41Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, we know the wars.
- 1:48:42Speaker 7: Yeah, you guys, get off topic a little most impactful
- 1:48:47Speaker 7: moment of the year for the company. Yeah, like you know,
- 1:48:55Speaker 7: we had last year when they joined TKO, when they
- 1:49:00Speaker 7: joined Netflix. So for this year, uh, you know, the
- 1:49:04Speaker 7: Netflix Arabian On the sixth of twenty five, they were
- 1:49:11Speaker 7: a Netflix deal worth five billion, so that's a hell
- 1:49:15Speaker 7: of a deal. They moved to ESPN Plus in August
- 1:49:19Speaker 7: twenty twenty five. Uh, it'll be a five year deal
- 1:49:26Speaker 7: worth one point six billion dollars. We saw the expansion
- 1:49:32Speaker 7: of the two night main event of Summer Slam, so
- 1:49:37Speaker 7: now Summer Slam going forward will now be two nights
- 1:49:40Speaker 7: along with WrestleMania and well I think, uh, they expanded
- 1:49:49Speaker 7: to a three hour format for SmackDown, and it seems
- 1:49:52Speaker 7: like that's something we're gonna be keeping. Ah we until
- 1:50:00Speaker 7: back again. T Anda did an evasion angle with WWE.
- 1:50:06Speaker 7: How they did a nice partnership this year or last year,
- 1:50:10Speaker 7: which I think was awesome, the partnership that they did
- 1:50:13Speaker 7: and the partnership they did with Triple A.
- 1:50:16Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:50:17Speaker 7: And you know, the last thing I have is just
- 1:50:20Speaker 7: the way they handled Johnsena's retirement tour. I feel like
- 1:50:24Speaker 7: that was a big, big move for the company because
- 1:50:27Speaker 7: I think now other wrestlers who are up maybe in
- 1:50:32Speaker 7: that age, see how that, how that was handled, and
- 1:50:34Speaker 7: that just looks good. I guess if you're able to
- 1:50:38Speaker 7: go out on your own terms. So but uh, Drey,
- 1:50:43Speaker 7: what do you what do you have for uh, you know,
- 1:50:47Speaker 7: most impactful moments of the year for the company? I
- 1:50:49Speaker 7: just I know, I just rattle off a whole bunch.
- 1:50:52Speaker 3: But yeah, well most of the ones that you rattled
- 1:50:55Speaker 3: off are the ones that popped into mind as far
- 1:50:58Speaker 3: as impactful moments. But a lot of those probably we
- 1:51:03Speaker 3: won't see real impact on till years down the line,
- 1:51:07Speaker 3: like the two night Summer Slam. You know, you know,
- 1:51:11Speaker 3: any impact from that won't be no till for years.
- 1:51:15Speaker 3: You know, if it, for one, it has approved itself
- 1:51:17Speaker 3: to be successful like a WrestleMania, could they possibly expand
- 1:51:21Speaker 3: it to the other shows like a Royal Rumble or
- 1:51:24Speaker 3: Survivor series or Money in the Bank or what have you.
- 1:51:27Speaker 3: You know, the SmackDown time shift, and I mean they
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: flipped that back and forth all the time. The acquisition
- 1:51:35Speaker 3: of Triple A Again, effects for that probably won't be
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: seen for years in terms of how Triple A grows.
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: You know, does that become a farm a bit of
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: a farm system for talent to WWE from, you know,
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: Mexico and other you know, the Latin American countries. Do
- 1:51:54Speaker 3: they start to get talent from that. Haven't done it yet,
- 1:51:57Speaker 3: but it could be or could that be something that
- 1:52:02Speaker 3: WWE uses to give developing talent ring time that they
- 1:52:07Speaker 3: would normally get on live shows on the road, but
- 1:52:11Speaker 3: since the live schedule has been reduced, you know that
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: that itself could be considered an impactful maybe not a moment,
- 1:52:19Speaker 3: but a very impactful decision. You know, ww's decision to
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: damn near all but eliminate live shows or significantly reduce
- 1:52:29Speaker 3: the road schedule. You know, that's something that I believe
- 1:52:33Speaker 3: is definitely going to be felt. It's definitely going to
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: have long term effects, and one of the most prominent
- 1:52:42Speaker 3: ones that we are starting to see. We're starting to
- 1:52:45Speaker 3: see already, but we'll probably see more and more until
- 1:52:48Speaker 3: ww sorts out some sort of alternative is going to
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: be a the development of talent. You know, that that
- 1:52:56Speaker 3: ring time that they would normally get doing house shows
- 1:52:59Speaker 3: on the road all the time, where they could practice things,
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: see what works with a live crowd, see what doesn't
- 1:53:03Speaker 3: before they bring it to the main television is going
- 1:53:06Speaker 3: to be It's basically lost because they don't have those
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: house shows. So where do they get that Where do
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: they get that ring time in? Where do they get
- 1:53:14Speaker 3: those reps in? They're pretty much getting them in on air,
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: on Tell, on Raw and SmackDown. So all these flaws
- 1:53:23Speaker 3: and imperfections and botches and all this stuff that we
- 1:53:27Speaker 3: talk about and see and highlight, we're probably going to
- 1:53:30Speaker 3: see more of it moving forward because of that. So
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: I mean that I could argue that that would be
- 1:53:37Speaker 3: probably one of the most impactful things that WWE has
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: done all year. But what ultimately became my decision was
- 1:53:45Speaker 3: the last thing you brought up, and that was Johnson's
- 1:53:47Speaker 3: farewell tour. Not so much of a moment because obviously
- 1:53:52Speaker 3: it spanned the entire year, but I think that was
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: probably the most impactful thing just that entire farewell tour
- 1:53:59Speaker 3: because on how they handled it and also what Sina
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: did himself in the tour, just from the way it's
- 1:54:16Speaker 3: going to influence fans moving forward when we know, especially
- 1:54:22Speaker 3: since right now we're kind of in the middle of
- 1:54:26Speaker 3: the twilight of a lot of wrestler's careers, fans rightfully
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: or wrongfully, are going to want to see these stars
- 1:54:36Speaker 3: as they approach retirement get a treatment similar or something
- 1:54:40Speaker 3: of that nature to what John Cena got. You already
- 1:54:44Speaker 3: hear people talk about it now with Aj Styles, like, oh,
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: this is aj Styles last year? Is he going to
- 1:54:48Speaker 3: get a farewell tour of some sort? Is what's Randy
- 1:54:50Speaker 3: Orton's he going to get a farewell tour? Ray gonna
- 1:54:53Speaker 3: get Ray Masterial gonna get a farewell tour seeing Punk?
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: Is he gonna every every wrestler that's about the tire retire,
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: Their retirement or how they go out from here forward
- 1:55:04Speaker 3: is probably going to be compared to John Cena's because
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: it was such a unique, eventful moment throughout this entire year.
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: Their final match is going to be compared to John
- 1:55:17Speaker 3: Cena's farewell match. I think he's he has such an
- 1:55:24Speaker 3: his farewell tour cast such a shadow over future wrestler
- 1:55:29Speaker 3: retirements that I think I'm not saying he's going to
- 1:55:32Speaker 3: be the measuring stick, because I think some people can
- 1:55:36Speaker 3: be definitely, there are definitely things they could be done better,
- 1:55:38Speaker 3: but he will be a point of comparison for a
- 1:55:41Speaker 3: lot of people moving forward, especially wrestlers of his generation
- 1:55:45Speaker 3: that retire. And then also the fact that he went
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: out and what he did with that, say that main
- 1:55:52Speaker 3: event and making it about the next generation where all
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: the matches featured current top stars facing the ex generation,
- 1:56:00Speaker 3: you know, the Bailey and the Soul Ruka, Cody versus
- 1:56:03Speaker 3: over Femi, him and Gunter, and the tag team matches.
- 1:56:08Speaker 3: So you know, I think that was probably the most
- 1:56:12Speaker 3: impactful thing that occurred in WWE all year.
- 1:56:16Speaker 7: For for my money.
- 1:56:21Speaker 2: It's funny you mentioned.
- 1:56:22Speaker 6: The house shows because we have talked about that quite
- 1:56:25Speaker 6: a bit, and you're absolutely right, But what's going on
- 1:56:28Speaker 6: right now?
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: They're doing house shows and what else is going on
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: right now? People are getting injured. It's kind of like
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: it's the kind of a lose lose, you know, you
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: miss those.
- 1:56:39Speaker 6: Reps in front of the live audience, you know, I
- 1:56:41Speaker 6: think I've used the analogy, like, you know, it's one
- 1:56:44Speaker 6: thing to sit in his free throws in a gym,
- 1:56:47Speaker 6: empty gym. There's a whole other thing to do it
- 1:56:49Speaker 6: in front of twenty thousand people, right, So so it's
- 1:56:53Speaker 6: a trade off, but I think you're absolutely I think
- 1:56:55Speaker 6: I think the kind of fits.
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: Out weighs the risks. But outside of here, right there.
- 1:57:01Speaker 6: This one, I you know, you guys pretty much said
- 1:57:03Speaker 6: everything that I would have nominated or whatever that I
- 1:57:06Speaker 6: settled on as my winner. Andre you you said, this
- 1:57:11Speaker 6: is the thing we may not know the outcome of
- 1:57:17Speaker 6: for years, but uh, I think that the acquisition of
- 1:57:20Speaker 6: Triple A is going to be the thing that is
- 1:57:23Speaker 6: going to have the farthest reaching consequences.
- 1:57:27Speaker 3: Of this year.
- 1:57:28Speaker 6: You know, I think it immediately, you know, expanded the
- 1:57:31Speaker 6: international footprint, you know, the the world in world wrestling
- 1:57:37Speaker 6: entertainment is always often I think kind of takes a
- 1:57:40Speaker 6: back seat, and now it's kind of the.
- 1:57:42Speaker 17: First well I guess think they had NXC Europe for
- 1:57:44Speaker 17: a little while, right, but this is like their first
- 1:57:49Speaker 17: or one of their first real forays into a foreign territory,
- 1:57:53Speaker 17: if you will, you.
- 1:57:54Speaker 6: Know, it immediately opens up, you know, new storytelling opportunities
- 1:57:58Speaker 6: kind of reshapes the talent pool a little bit.
- 1:58:02Speaker 2: So I think that's the thing that's cinner, you know.
- 1:58:06Speaker 6: I think I think in ten twenty years we will
- 1:58:08Speaker 6: remember the Scena retirement to But I think the thing
- 1:58:12Speaker 6: that's gonna change the business more is the acquisition is
- 1:58:17Speaker 6: Triple A.
- 1:58:19Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's the very good one. I'll I kind
- 1:58:24Speaker 3: of think it could be lumped in as well, but
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: I'll ask you what you think, Doyle, would you kind
- 1:58:31Speaker 3: of bundle in ww's partnership with TNA into that as well?
- 1:58:36Speaker 3: Given that they started the partnership, we've seen how it's gone,
- 1:58:41Speaker 3: and they since then they've re upped it. So they've
- 1:58:45Speaker 3: decided like we're going to continue this going forward. And
- 1:58:47Speaker 3: there's been speculation that WWE may acquire at point is
- 1:58:54Speaker 3: the case, I don't know.
- 1:58:56Speaker 2: I don't know that.
- 1:58:58Speaker 6: I thought when TNA is new new t t n
- 1:59:01Speaker 6: A is a new TV deal, right, I.
- 1:59:03Speaker 3: Think working on it. I think they're supposed to beginning
- 1:59:07Speaker 3: one with what was t you know, Yeah, yeah, I
- 1:59:12Speaker 3: think that's the little works. I don't think it's been
- 1:59:14Speaker 3: officially announced yet.
- 1:59:15Speaker 7: But I think it is and I believe they're having
- 1:59:21Speaker 7: a J Styles on their first episode.
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: Yeah okay, yeah, yeah, I heard that.
- 1:59:28Speaker 6: Okay, well, okay, now now to mention that, oh you know,
- 1:59:33Speaker 6: I think it's on right now.
- 1:59:34Speaker 7: As a matter of fact.
- 1:59:38Speaker 3: Styles starts looking damn that shit is airing right now.
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: So okay, it just sounds literally on the TV right now.
- 1:59:46Speaker 6: Okay, Yeah, Well that's that throws what I was about
- 1:59:49Speaker 6: to say out the window, which was with this new partnership.
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: I think that their new TV deal. I think the
- 1:59:55Speaker 2: partnership has ended, but apparently that is not the case.
- 1:59:59Speaker 3: The partnership is continuing. I think, like I said, people
- 2:00:03Speaker 3: were had speculated that they might buy which they might
- 2:00:07Speaker 3: buy TNA or acquire TNA. If not, maybe not in
- 2:00:10Speaker 3: the same way that they did uh Triple as. I
- 2:00:13Speaker 3: think they just wholesale acquired Triple A or or did
- 2:00:17Speaker 3: they just acquire controlling interest.
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I think controlling interest. But yeah, it's not
- 2:00:23Speaker 2: the same as what's going on with TNA. And to
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: answer your question, I think the.
- 2:00:27Speaker 6: Triple A thing is a bigger deal one because there's more,
- 2:00:33Speaker 6: you know, they own a piece of the company now,
- 2:00:34Speaker 6: whereas I don't think that's the case.
- 2:00:36Speaker 2: With TNA, but a lot of.
- 2:00:37Speaker 6: The TNA people are like just ex WWE people.
- 2:00:42Speaker 2: Whereas the Triple A thing is international.
- 2:00:43Speaker 6: Almost nobody there has ever had anything to do with WWE,
- 2:00:49Speaker 6: and moreover, the audience hardly knows any of those people either.
- 2:00:52Speaker 2: So you get this whole.
- 2:00:53Speaker 6: Roster full of new talents and they can pick and
- 2:00:56Speaker 6: choose and say, hey, we really like this guy, we
- 2:00:58Speaker 6: really like that girl, and they can almost do whatever
- 2:01:01Speaker 6: they want with them because the American audience is barely
- 2:01:05Speaker 6: either hasn't seen them at all or has barely seeing them.
- 2:01:09Speaker 6: So just because of the internationality of it, I think
- 2:01:12Speaker 6: the Triple A is a bigger deal than the TNA. Say,
- 2:01:14Speaker 6: I feel like I've seen half of the TNA roster
- 2:01:16Speaker 6: in WWE at some point.
- 2:01:19Speaker 3: Sure, yeah, yeah, I think that that that's a very
- 2:01:22Speaker 3: valid point. And you know, if this turns out to
- 2:01:25Speaker 3: be extremely successful for them with TNA, that we could
- 2:01:30Speaker 3: potentially see WWE looking to, say the Japan market, and
- 2:01:34Speaker 3: see about trying to acquire one of their smaller companies
- 2:01:38Speaker 3: like that, like start them or something like that, although
- 2:01:42Speaker 3: Japan operates a lot differently, so I don't even know
- 2:01:45Speaker 3: if it would be possible for them to do that. Yeah,
- 2:01:47Speaker 3: I think.
- 2:01:50Speaker 6: The closed NXC Europe, they've been saying they were going
- 2:01:53Speaker 6: to go back there and they haven't done that yet.
- 2:01:55Speaker 6: But I think, I mean, I think the Triple Anything
- 2:01:57Speaker 6: is laying the groundwork.
- 2:01:58Speaker 2: For you know, a UK saying and uh.
- 2:02:02Speaker 6: Maybe a candidate saying maybe a candidates or something, I
- 2:02:05Speaker 6: don't know. Yeah, and maybe it's a Pan thing and
- 2:02:08Speaker 6: an India thing apparently is a is a growing market
- 2:02:13Speaker 6: years ago.
- 2:02:14Speaker 3: I mean I remember years ago there was talked that
- 2:02:17Speaker 3: they wanted to establish like NXT branches throughout the world,
- 2:02:22Speaker 3: like an NXT Europe, NXT North America, and that seems
- 2:02:25Speaker 3: to have fallen apart, or at the very least evolved
- 2:02:28Speaker 3: into instead of establishing their own Australia.
- 2:02:33Speaker 6: Look how many Australians we've got all of a sudden,
- 2:02:35Speaker 6: you know what I mean? I think a branch in
- 2:02:38Speaker 6: Australia would be fucking gangbusters.
- 2:02:40Speaker 3: Yeah. I think they're evolving their plan as far as
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: rather than trying to establish like NXC here, NXC there,
- 2:02:49Speaker 3: NXT here there, they'll just reach into those territories where
- 2:02:53Speaker 3: there's already a promotion in existence and probably just acquire that, yeah, right,
- 2:03:00Speaker 3: and just bring it under the you know, w W
- 2:03:02Speaker 3: T k O umbrella and just use them that way. Yeah,
- 2:03:07Speaker 3: there's definitely I think I think.
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: That's better because because even even though I know.
- 2:03:12Speaker 6: That the check the checks the performers are receiving or
- 2:03:16Speaker 6: coming from the same place, there's something uh more magical
- 2:03:22Speaker 6: if you will, uh when it's NXC versus Triple A,
- 2:03:25Speaker 6: then it would be NXC versus NXC Mexico.
- 2:03:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 2:03:30Speaker 6: Yeah, it's it's a total semantic thing, but it just
- 2:03:34Speaker 6: it just feels more like an actual invasion rather than
- 2:03:40Speaker 6: something that's the story line.
- 2:03:42Speaker 2: You know.
- 2:03:42Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think from a business and pr standpoint,
- 2:03:45Speaker 3: if PATE works better if w W comes in and
- 2:03:49Speaker 3: you know, maybe acquires or just merges with a company
- 2:03:53Speaker 3: and brings them in under the umbrella, because that company
- 2:03:56Speaker 3: still gets to exist and aablished they already established, they
- 2:04:02Speaker 3: already have their fan base, rather than you trying to
- 2:04:05Speaker 3: come in here as and start up a whole new
- 2:04:08Speaker 3: thing and try to build it up and hope that
- 2:04:10Speaker 3: just you know, the name WWE is enough to build
- 2:04:13Speaker 3: up this new NXT and that NXT and this nxts Right,
- 2:04:20Speaker 3: you're already there established, like, hey, we're gonna partner with you. You know,
- 2:04:24Speaker 3: some people might be resistant to the whole purchasing thing,
- 2:04:26Speaker 3: because that wasn't the case when they first announced the
- 2:04:29Speaker 3: Triple A biot people, I mean or acquisition. Some people
- 2:04:33Speaker 3: initially were a bit resistant to it, like are they
- 2:04:37Speaker 3: just going to come in here and just take over
- 2:04:38Speaker 3: and just do everything, YadA YadA, which so far they
- 2:04:43Speaker 3: have seemed to strike have struck a good balance between
- 2:04:47Speaker 3: the two. You know, pretty much all Triple A shows
- 2:04:50Speaker 3: now have some WWE talent there. But it seems to
- 2:04:54Speaker 3: be working in a way that's drawing more eyes to
- 2:04:59Speaker 3: the Triple A product and building up the Triple A
- 2:05:02Speaker 3: product as opposed to taking it over and making the
- 2:05:06Speaker 3: Triple A product seem inferior to w W.
- 2:05:11Speaker 2: Oh.
- 2:05:11Speaker 6: I agree, yeah, and I mean they I mean they're
- 2:05:13Speaker 6: not coming over and the w w E talent wins
- 2:05:16Speaker 6: every single match.
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that.
- 2:05:21Speaker 6: I think they're integrading well, and they're not doing They're
- 2:05:23Speaker 6: not doing it with every single match either. They're still
- 2:05:25Speaker 6: running Triple A versus talent versus Triple A talent, you know,
- 2:05:29Speaker 6: and maybe maybe two or three of the matches are
- 2:05:32Speaker 6: across promotion or whatever, So they're not they're not. They're
- 2:05:35Speaker 6: actually for once, uh, showing a little restraint.
- 2:05:40Speaker 3: And if different title does go on a w W talent,
- 2:05:44Speaker 3: it's it's warrants, it is deserved and it makes you know,
- 2:05:48Speaker 3: storyline sense, like you know, dominic Mysterial becoming a Triple
- 2:05:51Speaker 3: A over.
- 2:05:54Speaker 6: That, that's I say, that's perfect example that championship is
- 2:05:57Speaker 6: infinitely more important than it was, you know just time last.
- 2:06:01Speaker 3: Yeah, right, or you know, on the flip side of that,
- 2:06:04Speaker 3: we need Mega Heels to have a certain title, so
- 2:06:07Speaker 3: they take the Canadians Chelsea Green and Ethan Page and
- 2:06:10Speaker 3: made them the Triple A Mixed Champions, you know, superhels.
- 2:06:16Speaker 3: So you know, whatever the you know, homegrown Triple A
- 2:06:19Speaker 3: talent wins those back, it'll be a great moment for them.
- 2:06:22Speaker 3: So they seem to be striking a good bounce. I
- 2:06:24Speaker 3: think I think the Undertakers really heavily involved in Uh.
- 2:06:28Speaker 3: I guess some of the booking down at Triple A
- 2:06:29Speaker 3: from what I've heard. So if Undertaker's putting it work
- 2:06:33Speaker 3: down there, you know, props to him for what he's doing.
- 2:06:36Speaker 7: All right, guys, let's let's move it along. We're only
- 2:06:38Speaker 7: halfway through here. Yeah, we got to move it along. Uh,
- 2:06:43Speaker 7: breakout star of the Year. I have some notable mentions,
- 2:06:49Speaker 7: Jacob Fatu, Dominic Mysterio, you know, Tiffany Stratton, but uh
- 2:06:58Speaker 7: uh you know, Stephanie Vequier.
- 2:07:01Speaker 2: Uh.
- 2:07:02Speaker 7: But for me, for a guy who's been the most
- 2:07:04Speaker 7: breakout star of the year, who really hasn't even won
- 2:07:06Speaker 7: a world title yet, bron Breaker, Man, this guy going
- 2:07:12Speaker 7: right to the main roster, you know, well not right
- 2:07:15Speaker 7: to the main roster, but like when he got to
- 2:07:16Speaker 7: the main roster, finally he he got put into a
- 2:07:19Speaker 7: top tier uh the stable, you know, got made into
- 2:07:25Speaker 7: a top tier stable. And if it wasn't for Seth's injury,
- 2:07:29Speaker 7: I don't think he would be where he is now.
- 2:07:33Speaker 7: And you know, we'll talk about later. But this guy
- 2:07:36Speaker 7: has all the potential.
- 2:07:39Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:07:41Speaker 7: I definitely see him definitely within the next year being
- 2:07:48Speaker 7: world heavyweight champion for sure. I bet a dollar on
- 2:07:53Speaker 7: that for sure. Uh yeah, Dre, who do you go
- 2:08:01Speaker 7: for a breakout Star of the year.
- 2:08:05Speaker 3: Yes, see, it seemed like what you call it, that
- 2:08:10Speaker 3: bron Breaker would be the obvious choice for breakout Star
- 2:08:13Speaker 3: of the Year. Obviously because of the year that he had. However,
- 2:08:18Speaker 3: I chose somebody different and my choice for breakout Star
- 2:08:23Speaker 3: of the Year gonna seem a bit unconventional, but just
- 2:08:26Speaker 3: follow me on this. My breakout star of the year
- 2:08:30Speaker 3: was Naomi. Is she a rookie, Nope, She's a veteran,
- 2:08:36Speaker 3: but I mean probably one of the most senior veterans
- 2:08:39Speaker 3: of the women's roster right now. But the reason why
- 2:08:42Speaker 3: she was my breakout Star of the Year is because
- 2:08:45Speaker 3: of all the years she's been with WWE, even the
- 2:08:48Speaker 3: time away on TNA. This year or this past year,
- 2:08:52Speaker 3: twenty twenty five was the year when Naomi seemed to
- 2:08:57Speaker 3: bring it all together and finally reached what you could
- 2:09:03Speaker 3: deem as her quote unquote final form. She did the
- 2:09:08Speaker 3: best work character work this year she became and with
- 2:09:15Speaker 3: the money in the bank when and the cash in
- 2:09:20Speaker 3: and becoming Women's World Champion, she finally established herself as
- 2:09:25Speaker 3: a true, undeniable, top tier women's wrestler on the roster
- 2:09:33Speaker 3: she's been like, she's been Women's Champion before she was
- 2:09:36Speaker 3: I think it was SmackDown Champion in the past, but
- 2:09:39Speaker 3: all of those it came at a time where it
- 2:09:43Speaker 3: didn't hit it didn't resonate. She won the title, but
- 2:09:46Speaker 3: she didn't feel like a top star. But this year
- 2:09:51Speaker 3: with she combined the character work, even at the beginning
- 2:09:56Speaker 3: of the year with the assholes she took from Jay Cargill,
- 2:10:02Speaker 3: all of that, it finally came together and she made
- 2:10:06Speaker 3: it work and found a character that resonated with fans,
- 2:10:10Speaker 3: that got them invested in her, got them behind her,
- 2:10:13Speaker 3: and took it to the top of the women's division
- 2:10:18Speaker 3: and solidified herself there in a permanent way because you know,
- 2:10:25Speaker 3: and then you know the cherry on top of her,
- 2:10:28Speaker 3: you know, not not playing, but her getting pregnant and
- 2:10:32Speaker 3: having to step away, and you know, we mentioned it
- 2:10:36Speaker 3: when we were talking about promos of the year, that
- 2:10:38Speaker 3: promo that she cut when she had to walk away,
- 2:10:41Speaker 3: and how the fans were invested. So you know, once
- 2:10:47Speaker 3: she comes back, it ain't gonna be like the times
- 2:10:49Speaker 3: in the past where Naomi's came back, where she came
- 2:10:51Speaker 3: back from an injury and it's like, oh, hey, Naomi's back, Okay, No,
- 2:10:56Speaker 3: when she comes back, this time, she's coming back like
- 2:11:00Speaker 3: the top main event level star that she is finally
- 2:11:05Speaker 3: becoming that she rightfully is. She's coming back straight at
- 2:11:09Speaker 3: the top. So to me, this was a breakout year
- 2:11:12Speaker 3: from her, but finally breaking out from being just another
- 2:11:15Speaker 3: woman on the roster to being the woman on the roster.
- 2:11:24Speaker 6: As still healing it up during that pregnancy problem, she's
- 2:11:28Speaker 6: kind of still does not like.
- 2:11:30Speaker 3: Her right, still doing heel work. But fans were like,
- 2:11:34Speaker 3: we're still here for it and she's still healing it
- 2:11:36Speaker 3: up on the you know, on social media from the.
- 2:11:41Speaker 2: Yeah, she's a she's a treasure.
- 2:11:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:11:44Speaker 6: I mean, we we've all kind of got a similar
- 2:11:46Speaker 6: list chair, so I'll just kind of run through this
- 2:11:48Speaker 6: real quick. Some runners up I would include Tiffy Maxine Dupree,
- 2:11:53Speaker 6: the both bronze breaker, and Reid h Chelsea Grain. I
- 2:11:59Speaker 6: promise I'm never gonna Jack can go back into Triple
- 2:12:01Speaker 6: A talk again.
- 2:12:02Speaker 2: But I mean talk about.
- 2:12:03Speaker 6: Somebody that burst on the American scene out of nowhere,
- 2:12:06Speaker 6: El Grande Americano.
- 2:12:08Speaker 2: Hey, what else could you say? Oh?
- 2:12:11Speaker 6: Yes, and absolutely it was gonna be the next time, mister, Yes,
- 2:12:17Speaker 6: but the winner and uh you know this is where
- 2:12:21Speaker 6: this is where I would put Stephanie Vestibule as my
- 2:12:25Speaker 6: breakout star.
- 2:12:26Speaker 2: You know, just came in and rocked.
- 2:12:28Speaker 6: And probably would have been the Woman of the Year
- 2:12:31Speaker 6: if I hadn't punished her for being so new and
- 2:12:34Speaker 6: not wanting to give a Breakout and Performer.
- 2:12:38Speaker 2: Of the Year for the same person. So it is
- 2:12:41Speaker 2: strictly just to not give all the.
- 2:12:43Speaker 6: Awards to the same people, even though I did that
- 2:12:47Speaker 6: inadvertently anyway, But I'm gonna go with her for breakout
- 2:12:51Speaker 6: because nobody, nobody had a quicker rise, and if she did,
- 2:12:55Speaker 6: nobody has a long time.
- 2:12:58Speaker 3: Val completely valid. I mean between Wrestler of the Year,
- 2:13:02Speaker 3: my female Wrestler of the Year and Breakout Star of
- 2:13:04Speaker 3: the Year. I originally had Naomi as my wrestler and
- 2:13:07Speaker 3: Stephanie Kerr's my breakout and I flipped him at the
- 2:13:11Speaker 3: last minute, So I mean, I get it.
- 2:13:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I say that, and then I realized I gave
- 2:13:17Speaker 2: one person three awards. But we'll get to that.
- 2:13:24Speaker 3: Just call it luck of the Irish.
- 2:13:25Speaker 2: I guess, lucky gain.
- 2:13:30Speaker 7: You know what, Dre, I'll let you introduce this new ward,
- 2:13:32Speaker 7: the my Time.
- 2:13:33Speaker 3: Is not award, Okay, So yeah, this one, the new
- 2:13:39Speaker 3: award will be introducing basically in the spirit of John
- 2:13:42Speaker 3: Cena's retirement and the spirit of how he conducted the
- 2:13:49Speaker 3: Saturday Night main event in his farewell match, where he
- 2:13:51Speaker 3: devoted it to the next generation of stars. Figured we could,
- 2:13:57Speaker 3: you know, while we are looking back on the year,
- 2:14:00Speaker 3: we could also take a moment to look forward. Although
- 2:14:03Speaker 3: My Time is Now, my Time Is Now award is
- 2:14:05Speaker 3: dedicated to the superstar that we think is going to
- 2:14:10Speaker 3: have the breakout year or the biggest year moving forward
- 2:14:16Speaker 3: in the next year. So that would be this year,
- 2:14:18Speaker 3: twenty twenty six. So for this award, my choice, even
- 2:14:25Speaker 3: though recent events have kind of almost maybe giving me
- 2:14:29Speaker 3: a little bit of pause, I'm still gonna go with
- 2:14:33Speaker 3: Dirty Dominic Mysterio. I still think twenty twenty six is
- 2:14:37Speaker 3: going to be a huge year for him. I still
- 2:14:41Speaker 3: think there's a strong chance he becomes a world champion
- 2:14:45Speaker 3: at some point this year, not the triaampion or in
- 2:14:48Speaker 3: the Continental but actual world heavyweight champion. It maybe later
- 2:14:54Speaker 3: on in this year, And I could have very easily
- 2:14:57Speaker 3: given this My Time Award Now ward too. Bron Breaker
- 2:15:01Speaker 3: who I was also considering it too, because I think
- 2:15:04Speaker 3: it's pretty clear that he's going to be world champion
- 2:15:07Speaker 3: at some point this year. Yeah, we can all pretty
- 2:15:11Speaker 3: much pencil that in, So I considered it for him,
- 2:15:14Speaker 3: but still gonna stick with dirty Dominique mystereo. I think
- 2:15:17Speaker 3: this year, as much as he's already grown and risen,
- 2:15:22Speaker 3: I think twenty twenty six Dom takes it to another level. Dude.
- 2:15:29Speaker 7: I absolutely agree, man. I mean, the man's pretty much
- 2:15:35Speaker 7: he's right under like he's right above mid card, right underneath.
- 2:15:39Speaker 7: He made a vent or like I mean, he put
- 2:15:42Speaker 7: he man is the first, the last guy to beat
- 2:15:45Speaker 7: Johnsena for a title. I mean, what a rub, right,
- 2:15:49Speaker 7: I mean, geez he Unfortunately, I think he's out right
- 2:15:55Speaker 7: now with the shoulder injury.
- 2:15:56Speaker 3: Correct, he is nursing a soulder injury yet, but apparently
- 2:16:01Speaker 3: it can't be that severe because they haven't taken either
- 2:16:03Speaker 3: belt off of them.
- 2:16:04Speaker 7: I know That's what I was worried about. For what
- 2:16:09Speaker 7: I have for the My time is now a ward
- 2:16:16Speaker 7: is you know what? And he recently got called up
- 2:16:20Speaker 7: for NXT and I'm very excited Opa Femi and just
- 2:16:27Speaker 7: just thinking about this dude. When we saw him versus
- 2:16:31Speaker 7: Cody Rhodes, I we got a small taste of that
- 2:16:35Speaker 7: and we of course we got to cut short, but
- 2:16:38Speaker 7: I was invested, and I'm thinking, oh my god, like
- 2:16:41Speaker 7: I want to see this guy. I want to see
- 2:16:43Speaker 7: this guy face brock Lessener before Brock retires, you know,
- 2:16:48Speaker 7: like we're getting to that point too with like guys
- 2:16:50Speaker 7: like Brock, Like, oh, this guy's going to retire soon,
- 2:16:52Speaker 7: Like I want to see this NXT guy face him
- 2:16:55Speaker 7: soon fast quick. You know, we're still cooking on Gunther
- 2:17:01Speaker 7: and Brocklessener. We still want that, and I'm hungry for
- 2:17:05Speaker 7: you know, fucking OPI Femi and Brocklestener. But uh no,
- 2:17:09Speaker 7: I think that guy's got a great future. I mean
- 2:17:12Speaker 7: he literally just what he took the XT title and
- 2:17:16Speaker 7: vacated himself because he has bigger plans. I mean basically,
- 2:17:21Speaker 7: he was just like I'm done here, like I did
- 2:17:23Speaker 7: everything I could, Like I'm going to go somewhere and
- 2:17:26Speaker 7: where I can do more. And you know, they had
- 2:17:28Speaker 7: another guy that was very similar that way, Keith Lee,
- 2:17:34Speaker 7: and they just handled him wrong unfortunately. But he was
- 2:17:38Speaker 7: another guy who had that kind of momentum coming to
- 2:17:41Speaker 7: the main roster and then he was just poorly booked,
- 2:17:46Speaker 7: terrible music, changed his gear, changed his nickname. Now he's
- 2:17:51Speaker 7: the Man Cat or Man whatever.
- 2:17:58Speaker 6: He had a bad combination of horrible booking and he
- 2:18:02Speaker 6: was always injured.
- 2:18:04Speaker 7: Yea, yeah, he it sucked. But like I just hope
- 2:18:08Speaker 7: like somebody like open fem me that doesn't happen to
- 2:18:10Speaker 7: like he doesn't get booked wrong. And I just I'm
- 2:18:13Speaker 7: just hoping, like you guys handled him well and in
- 2:18:16Speaker 7: NXT and like we got some people from the main
- 2:18:19Speaker 7: roster don't know who he is. Like there's some people
- 2:18:21Speaker 7: who had no idea who he was, so we got
- 2:18:24Speaker 7: to see that with Cody and him. So now I'm hoping,
- 2:18:29Speaker 7: I don't know what roster I want him to even
- 2:18:31Speaker 7: go on, uh maybe SmackDown. Yeah, so yeah, hell.
- 2:18:41Speaker 3: Yeah, but we'll see.
- 2:18:43Speaker 7: Yeah, doll, who do you got?
- 2:18:47Speaker 2: I think I interpreted this slightly differently.
- 2:18:50Speaker 6: I was kind of picturing this is like trying to
- 2:18:52Speaker 6: predict who might be breakout or or come back next year.
- 2:18:56Speaker 2: So I'll tell you who who I who I consider
- 2:18:59Speaker 2: it and who I settled on. So like people I
- 2:19:05Speaker 2: think would be in be eligible for comeback or not.
- 2:19:08Speaker 2: I'm sorry for breakout next year.
- 2:19:10Speaker 6: I mean all the call ups, you know, Trek, Jay
- 2:19:12Speaker 6: vob Opah, Family, Jordan Grace, you know, I think any
- 2:19:17Speaker 6: one of them could could be the breakout star next year.
- 2:19:20Speaker 6: And I think we got a couple of exciting people
- 2:19:22Speaker 6: hopefully coming back any day now in Bianca and Chad
- 2:19:26Speaker 6: Gable and Kevin Owens.
- 2:19:30Speaker 2: I think Marmelo Hayes is a.
- 2:19:32Speaker 6: Guy that's already already up and already been around a
- 2:19:35Speaker 6: little bit, but I think it is hopefully in a
- 2:19:37Speaker 6: position to maybe take a big step forward next year.
- 2:19:42Speaker 2: But the person I settled on is.
- 2:19:45Speaker 6: Somebody who I who I thought might be in line
- 2:19:49Speaker 6: for a breakout star at the beginning of this year
- 2:19:54Speaker 6: and hopefully maybe next year.
- 2:19:55Speaker 2: This year, and that's Julia.
- 2:20:00Speaker 6: In my mind anyway, I think of her and Sephanie
- 2:20:05Speaker 6: vill grow at the same time because they kind of
- 2:20:08Speaker 6: were both they.
- 2:20:08Speaker 2: Both signed around the same time.
- 2:20:10Speaker 6: There were both these you know, international sensations coming in,
- 2:20:15Speaker 6: and you know, it's kind of like when there's a
- 2:20:17Speaker 6: quarterback goes one and two, you know, in the draft,
- 2:20:20Speaker 6: and you kind of compare.
- 2:20:20Speaker 2: The two of them for the rest of their career.
- 2:20:23Speaker 6: I thought Julia was gonna have their year that Sephanie
- 2:20:27Speaker 6: Losa Raptor had. I thought she was gonna be the
- 2:20:30Speaker 6: one that was just lit the world on fire. Not
- 2:20:33Speaker 6: that I didn't think Sephanie was capable and or could
- 2:20:37Speaker 6: do it.
- 2:20:38Speaker 2: I just thought Julia had a more star power.
- 2:20:40Speaker 6: I thought her star was gonna burn brighter, and for
- 2:20:43Speaker 6: whatever reason, didn't quite happen that way. But I still
- 2:20:47Speaker 6: believe in her very much, and I think she's gonna
- 2:20:51Speaker 6: have a huge year in twenty twenty six. I'm gonna
- 2:20:53Speaker 6: go with Julia and this wood sweet Julia.
- 2:20:59Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, this swapping between her and Chelsea with the
- 2:21:03Speaker 7: United States title. I hopefully this time around with the title,
- 2:21:07Speaker 7: she's a little bit more of a better title run.
- 2:21:10Speaker 7: She defends it a little bit more, has a few
- 2:21:12Speaker 7: more matches, gets on TV more. But next on our
- 2:21:21Speaker 7: list here of awards is best heel or face turn
- 2:21:26Speaker 7: of the Year. I have a honorable mention and I
- 2:21:35Speaker 7: have my number one pick. My honorable mention is Naomi,
- 2:21:41Speaker 7: you know, turning heel after was at the elimination chamber
- 2:21:45Speaker 7: and we found out she was the one who took
- 2:21:48Speaker 7: Jade out for so long and doing it right in
- 2:21:52Speaker 7: front of Bianca, you know, you know, Jade beating down
- 2:21:58Speaker 7: on Naomi. Uh, just the the heel turn, you know,
- 2:22:05Speaker 7: just the whole character change for her. I thought it
- 2:22:08Speaker 7: was great. Ah, And this one, I think it's just
- 2:22:12Speaker 7: probably just a given. Is John Cena's heel turn now
- 2:22:17Speaker 7: how it was handled later, there's more, just there's stuff
- 2:22:23Speaker 7: to say about that. But you know, I and many
- 2:22:27Speaker 7: other people just I never thought we'd ever see the
- 2:22:30Speaker 7: day that John c would ever become heal again. But
- 2:22:34Speaker 7: then again, like you know that within that last year
- 2:22:40Speaker 7: we got I never thought I'd see John Cena win
- 2:22:46Speaker 7: the seventeenth time world champion. He did, right. I never
- 2:22:51Speaker 7: thought I see Johnsena win the Inner Continental title and
- 2:22:55Speaker 7: become a Grand Slam champion, but he did. I never
- 2:22:59Speaker 7: thought I see John to turn heel before you know,
- 2:23:02Speaker 7: he retired, but he did. You know, I never thought
- 2:23:06Speaker 7: we'd see him versus see him punk or AJ styles
- 2:23:09Speaker 7: ever again, but we fucking did all within a year.
- 2:23:15Speaker 7: You know, he did all that. They literally like utilized
- 2:23:19Speaker 7: everything they could with Sina for that year. But yeah,
- 2:23:22Speaker 7: that heel turn, like you know, now blaming everything on us,
- 2:23:27Speaker 7: the fans, it's our fault, you know, you know, the
- 2:23:32Speaker 7: changing of his music and not nice music, but like
- 2:23:35Speaker 7: his entrance, like instead of having all the colorful lights
- 2:23:39Speaker 7: and the video package in the background, it was just
- 2:23:42Speaker 7: like a black screen. It just said John Cena, Like
- 2:23:46Speaker 7: and he came out with like a black shirt, you know, Like,
- 2:23:51Speaker 7: I don't know. I thought it was clever. I thought
- 2:23:53Speaker 7: it was clever, Like the timing, like, you know, it's
- 2:23:56Speaker 7: so close to the end of his career and you're
- 2:23:57Speaker 7: gonna try to sneak this shit in, like and then
- 2:24:01Speaker 7: you know, the whole time, I'm thinking, like, he's not
- 2:24:03Speaker 7: gonna retire as a heel right, Like they're gonna somehow
- 2:24:07Speaker 7: have to turn it back, right, turn him back to
- 2:24:09Speaker 7: super Sena, and you know they did. But yeah, it's
- 2:24:14Speaker 7: just honestly, guys, I didn't see it coming. Maybe you
- 2:24:17Speaker 7: guys did, but I didn't. Dre best heel face turned
- 2:24:24Speaker 7: for you of the year.
- 2:24:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean my top heel turn of the year
- 2:24:30Speaker 3: was Johnsena as well. I mean, for what it I said,
- 2:24:35Speaker 3: Setting aside everything that happened afterwards, the moment itself was
- 2:24:39Speaker 3: probably one of the most talked about heel turns, if
- 2:24:42Speaker 3: not the most talked about heel turn for a wrestler,
- 2:24:47Speaker 3: probably since Hulk Hogan. Yeah, I think it was. I
- 2:24:52Speaker 3: think it was. The moment was that big. I mean,
- 2:24:54Speaker 3: it got it got media coverage outside of w w E,
- 2:24:59Speaker 3: it got mainstream media coverage. John seen the turn. Heel
- 2:25:03Speaker 3: like it was that big of a moment. And for
- 2:25:06Speaker 3: like I said, regardless of how people feel about how
- 2:25:09Speaker 3: it happened, of what happened afterwards, the moment itself was huge.
- 2:25:15Speaker 3: The moment itself caught everybody off guard. It shocked everybody,
- 2:25:19Speaker 3: surprised everybody. Remember the storyline going It was about Cody Rhodes.
- 2:25:24Speaker 3: It was the Rock saying Cody, I want your soul,
- 2:25:26Speaker 3: YadA YadA, and we thought that's where it was gonna be,
- 2:25:29Speaker 3: you know, and then Cody. That's where all our attention
- 2:25:33Speaker 3: was on. You know, how's Cody gonna respond to the Rock?
- 2:25:36Speaker 3: And then Cody tells Rock, you know, Rock, go fuck
- 2:25:39Speaker 3: yourself and sees it all yeah yeah, and then hugs
- 2:25:43Speaker 3: John Rock gives the cutthroat we see seeing his face
- 2:25:47Speaker 3: turn like that moment resonated so hard that wwe we
- 2:25:55Speaker 3: created it. When liv Morgan came back. And when she
- 2:26:00Speaker 3: came back and she jumped on scene and hugged them,
- 2:26:03Speaker 3: and then they her face turned. What we what did?
- 2:26:05Speaker 3: Everybody say? She's doing the scene a hill turn thing,
- 2:26:10Speaker 3: even though it wasn't a hell turn, but she did
- 2:26:11Speaker 3: she did the scene a hill turn thing. That's a
- 2:26:14Speaker 3: moment that's going to be recreated in wrestling again. Like
- 2:26:20Speaker 3: we're going to see that moment happen again with somebody
- 2:26:23Speaker 3: or somebody hugging somebody or something and their face changes,
- 2:26:29Speaker 3: and whenever we see that, we're immediately gonna think that's
- 2:26:33Speaker 3: the scene of hill turn. That is a moment that
- 2:26:36Speaker 3: that is a you know, that is now part of
- 2:26:39Speaker 3: our vernacular in wrestling now.
- 2:26:44Speaker 6: Exactly, you know, it's what the hell is the other thing?
- 2:26:50Speaker 2: I think a guess?
- 2:26:52Speaker 3: Guess? However? Pronounce it? Yeah, I was gonna say, but
- 2:26:55Speaker 3: I would have compared it to like, you know, for
- 2:26:57Speaker 3: those who are familiar with anime, you know, if you
- 2:27:00Speaker 3: mentioned the Akira slide, everybody knows what that is. People
- 2:27:04Speaker 3: immediately know what that is. It is a moment from
- 2:27:07Speaker 3: the movie from the anime movie A Care which came
- 2:27:09Speaker 3: out in think nineteen eighty nine, Guy slides a motorcycle
- 2:27:12Speaker 3: a certain way. You look it up and you can
- 2:27:14Speaker 3: see literally videos of how many times that moment has
- 2:27:18Speaker 3: been recreated in pop culture and animation, live action, whatever,
- 2:27:23Speaker 3: the Akira slide, how much has been recreated since then?
- 2:27:28Speaker 3: The scene of Heell Turned could potentially have that kind
- 2:27:31Speaker 3: of pop culture impact. I would be surprised if you
- 2:27:37Speaker 3: see it happen like in a movie, if somebody references
- 2:27:40Speaker 3: it in a movie, maybe not a drop black of
- 2:27:41Speaker 3: comedy like Friends Hug and you see a close up
- 2:27:44Speaker 3: on the face in the face turns like it's that
- 2:27:47Speaker 3: kind of moment. So I think, hands down, that was
- 2:27:51Speaker 3: the heel slash face turn of the year, no question.
- 2:27:56Speaker 7: Toure Doyle.
- 2:27:59Speaker 2: And I got three heel turns.
- 2:28:04Speaker 6: Seth seal turn at WrestleMania. Kind of saw it coming,
- 2:28:08Speaker 6: but I thought it was great.
- 2:28:09Speaker 2: It was really fun indoor. I guess you could throw
- 2:28:13Speaker 2: in Hayman turning more heel. I guess he was.
- 2:28:16Speaker 6: Actually I guess Haman went into that has a faith,
- 2:28:18Speaker 6: didn't it, So I guess Hayman turns heel too, So
- 2:28:21Speaker 6: double turn with the both of them.
- 2:28:22Speaker 2: That was a lot of fun.
- 2:28:24Speaker 6: Second one, Yeah, I mean I think we've probably don't
- 2:28:27Speaker 6: need to talk much more about the seeing of heel turn,
- 2:28:30Speaker 6: which would be number one if it just wasn't so
- 2:28:33Speaker 6: bad the resulting, you know whatever. But I mean this
- 2:28:39Speaker 6: is gonna be talked about forever, you know, historical, you know,
- 2:28:43Speaker 6: in you know, ten twenty years when we were talking
- 2:28:47Speaker 6: about the most iconic heel turns of all time. You know,
- 2:28:50Speaker 6: they'll be the Hogan in the nWo. You know, they'll
- 2:28:53Speaker 6: be the Rockers in the barber shop, they'll be Seth
- 2:28:57Speaker 6: turning on the shield, and they'll be Johnson.
- 2:29:01Speaker 2: So yeah, definitely totally memorable.
- 2:29:03Speaker 6: But my top heel turn is for the trifecta, the
- 2:29:08Speaker 6: man Becky Lynch. It kind of came out of nowhere,
- 2:29:12Speaker 6: but it totally transformed her character, which, as we've discussed
- 2:29:18Speaker 6: I think at length, I really really enjoyed.
- 2:29:22Speaker 2: So I think it was a good, good, good combination of.
- 2:29:26Speaker 6: Surprising, needed, really well done and led to a really
- 2:29:33Speaker 6: good run with the character.
- 2:29:35Speaker 2: So for me, that was my favorite turn of the year,
- 2:29:37Speaker 2: even though absolutely.
- 2:29:41Speaker 6: The John Cenatturney is by far the most monumental and
- 2:29:46Speaker 6: the thing we'll be talking about for the time infinite infinitum,
- 2:29:51Speaker 6: But in the moment.
- 2:29:52Speaker 2: I thought that Becky thing was more fun.
- 2:29:55Speaker 7: Yeah, cool, all right, guys, moving on the biggest swerve
- 2:30:03Speaker 7: of the year.
- 2:30:08Speaker 2: For me.
- 2:30:09Speaker 7: I mean we've mentioned some other things, you know, we did,
- 2:30:12Speaker 7: like we literally just mentioned the the Scena Hill turned,
- 2:30:16Speaker 7: But like for me, some some swerves. Was like I was.
- 2:30:21Speaker 7: I was very shocked that they decided, Okay, we're doing
- 2:30:24Speaker 7: We're definitely doing Summer Slam two nights for sure. Like
- 2:30:29Speaker 7: I was surprised. I didn't think that was gonna be
- 2:30:31Speaker 7: think I didn't never thought. I thought WrestleMania was gonna
- 2:30:34Speaker 7: be the only one that was gonna be two nights.
- 2:30:38Speaker 7: And you know that I I I didn't see us
- 2:30:44Speaker 7: well going to ESPN so quick, so fast, like I think,
- 2:30:52Speaker 7: I didn't even have a chance to decide, Like it
- 2:30:54Speaker 7: just happened, like and the newest thing was finding out
- 2:31:00Speaker 7: that we're gonna be having WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia next year. Yeah,
- 2:31:06Speaker 7: like this is for me, that was a big swerve.
- 2:31:09Speaker 7: I didn't see that coming. You know, I didn't see
- 2:31:11Speaker 7: any of that just hit me out of nowhere this year.
- 2:31:17Speaker 7: I'm sure there's there's plenty of other ones, but a
- 2:31:22Speaker 7: lot of this stuff business moves we can kind of
- 2:31:25Speaker 7: see coming, or storylines we can kind of see coming.
- 2:31:28Speaker 7: But as for stuff that's been going on in the company,
- 2:31:32Speaker 7: that was for me a swerve. Trade. Do you have
- 2:31:39Speaker 7: any swerves like mine or are they probably a little different? No?
- 2:31:43Speaker 3: Yeah, none of minor business related I've got to for
- 2:31:47Speaker 3: swerve of the year. My honorable mention would be for
- 2:31:51Speaker 3: swerve of the year was Seth Rollins and his money
- 2:31:54Speaker 3: into bank cash in at SummerSlam when he revealed that
- 2:31:57Speaker 3: he was in fact not injured. Ah yeah, and proceeded
- 2:32:02Speaker 3: to cashing the money in the bank on see I'm
- 2:32:04Speaker 3: funk right after he had just won it. It was
- 2:32:08Speaker 3: one of those things that we kind of speculated could happen,
- 2:32:11Speaker 3: but then we kind of they really put the work
- 2:32:15Speaker 3: in to kind of turned down the flames on that
- 2:32:17Speaker 3: or turned down the heat on that, and then just
- 2:32:20Speaker 3: to actually do it. But because we had kind of
- 2:32:24Speaker 3: speculated that it could be that and a lot of
- 2:32:26Speaker 3: people really strongly believed it, it only gets honorable mention
- 2:32:30Speaker 3: from me. So my actual swerve of the Year happened
- 2:32:36Speaker 3: at Elimination Chamber earlier this year, and that was when
- 2:32:42Speaker 3: we found out who took out Jay Cargill. Now, yes,
- 2:32:48Speaker 3: there had been some speculation that you know, there was Naomi.
- 2:32:52Speaker 3: There were those people out there who were like, what
- 2:32:54Speaker 3: if Naomi did it? What if Naomi did it? But
- 2:32:56Speaker 3: the real cell was on that it was Lift Morgan
- 2:32:59Speaker 3: and it's really what made it work for me was
- 2:33:02Speaker 3: the excuse me was the execution of the moment itself.
- 2:33:08Speaker 3: It's Nail Me and Live only two in the ring
- 2:33:11Speaker 3: at the moment Jay Cargill's music hits. She comes out
- 2:33:17Speaker 3: freaking jack to all bloody hell, looking like a million bucks,
- 2:33:22Speaker 3: walking to that ring with absolute purpose, no stopping to
- 2:33:28Speaker 3: you know, profile for the fans or anything like that.
- 2:33:32Speaker 3: Just nope, straight b line, walk into the ring. Live
- 2:33:36Speaker 3: Morgan's in there looking terrified. Naomi's just sitting there like,
- 2:33:40Speaker 3: uh what. And then Live Morgan get I mean, Jay
- 2:33:44Speaker 3: goes into that ring, says, I know it was you.
- 2:33:49Speaker 3: Live looks like she's about to have a freaking heart attack,
- 2:33:52Speaker 3: and then boom, Jay goes in on Nail Me and
- 2:33:58Speaker 3: just starts beating the living dog shit out of Naomi,
- 2:34:02Speaker 3: right in front of Bianca Bell there, who was in
- 2:34:05Speaker 3: the cage and can't do shit about it, just starts
- 2:34:08Speaker 3: whooping her ass, and Beyonca's in there just losing it
- 2:34:14Speaker 3: in the cage. Like Beyonca's work in that cage is
- 2:34:16Speaker 3: really what helps take it to the next level because
- 2:34:19Speaker 3: the fact that she is just going crazy in that
- 2:34:21Speaker 3: cage about it and can't do anything. And then Jay
- 2:34:25Speaker 3: just absolutely beats the living hell out of Naomi, and
- 2:34:32Speaker 3: that set the tone for Naomi's heel turn. It was
- 2:34:37Speaker 3: one of the most executed, most well executed reveals of
- 2:34:42Speaker 3: an attacker that we've had in a long time. A
- 2:34:45Speaker 3: lot of time we be like who did this? Who
- 2:34:47Speaker 3: did this? And we get the reveal and it's like, Okay,
- 2:34:51Speaker 3: you know it's it's just a reveal. It's nothing special
- 2:34:54Speaker 3: about it. It doesn't resonate, it doesn't stick with you. But
- 2:34:56Speaker 3: this one it's stuck. It stuck like a motherfucker. So
- 2:35:02Speaker 3: this was my swerve of the year, the fact it
- 2:35:05Speaker 3: was Naomi and not live hmm.
- 2:35:08Speaker 7: Nice. Yeah, that was a hell of a swerve too.
- 2:35:11Speaker 7: And it's crazy because that's happened all the way in
- 2:35:13Speaker 7: the beginning of the year and you have all that
- 2:35:17Speaker 7: and you forget about it.
- 2:35:19Speaker 6: In fact that I immediately said it was Naomi, Yeah.
- 2:35:26Speaker 2: I like that.
- 2:35:26Speaker 3: I like to say I acknowledged that there were the
- 2:35:28Speaker 3: people out there who were like, what if it's Naomi?
- 2:35:31Speaker 3: There there were those people out there.
- 2:35:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it didn't fool me.
- 2:35:36Speaker 6: I did get fooled though I did not consider uh,
- 2:35:40Speaker 6: healing face turns for this because we have around category
- 2:35:43Speaker 6: for that. So I got two cashs, two title winds,
- 2:35:46Speaker 6: and then a winner. The title winds were the Hardys
- 2:35:50Speaker 6: went in the n X T.
- 2:35:54Speaker 2: N A because it's on the TV, the NXT titles.
- 2:35:58Speaker 2: I didn't didn't see that coming. Kind of cool to see.
- 2:36:00Speaker 6: That, I'm background on WWE television. H and Maxie Dupree
- 2:36:06Speaker 6: winning the IC title.
- 2:36:07Speaker 2: Uh no, you know, I didn't think they would actually
- 2:36:12Speaker 2: do it.
- 2:36:15Speaker 6: And then uh, two cash ins for odd we got
- 2:36:19Speaker 6: two women's cashions in the same year, but both of
- 2:36:21Speaker 6: them are great. Tiffy and Naomi's cashs were both really
- 2:36:26Speaker 6: well done. I think Tiffy's maybe a little more predictable,
- 2:36:29Speaker 6: but uh, but so those are both well done.
- 2:36:32Speaker 3: But my my, my winner of the year.
- 2:36:37Speaker 6: Yeah yeah right, yeah, well of the year is And
- 2:36:44Speaker 6: I don't think either of you guys mentioned it was
- 2:36:46Speaker 6: h Lesli returning in SummerSlam.
- 2:36:49Speaker 2: Uh, you know, especially for guys like us.
- 2:36:53Speaker 7: Uh.
- 2:36:53Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know about you, but I have
- 2:36:55Speaker 6: an IV bag with one hundred milligrams of dirt sheets
- 2:37:00Speaker 6: instantly on an IV drip.
- 2:37:02Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:37:02Speaker 2: And I didn't see this coming at all.
- 2:37:05Speaker 6: There was neither neither a Reddit post, nor nor anything anywhere,
- 2:37:13Speaker 6: uh saying bark Lesser might show up. So and it's
- 2:37:16Speaker 6: so rare in this day and age that we get
- 2:37:19Speaker 6: fooled anymore. It seems like everything we either oh, thought
- 2:37:24Speaker 6: that might help with it, or you hear about it
- 2:37:26Speaker 6: the day before, oh sell and shows backstage, blah blah
- 2:37:29Speaker 6: blah blah blah. You know, and especially in light of
- 2:37:32Speaker 6: the fact that I, you know, any show, any show,
- 2:37:36Speaker 6: you know, when you know somebody's almost ready to come back,
- 2:37:39Speaker 6: you can say, oh, this might be the show someone
- 2:37:41Speaker 6: so comes back.
- 2:37:41Speaker 2: That's when that may see goes back. We didn't. I
- 2:37:44Speaker 2: didn't even think it was on the table because of
- 2:37:46Speaker 2: the whole lawsuit thing, you know. Uh, so you know,
- 2:37:52Speaker 2: for something that wasn't leaked, wasn't know it wasn't spoiled.
- 2:37:58Speaker 18: That's to me was the moment that was a holy fuck,
- 2:38:01Speaker 18: because not only did I not see it coming, I
- 2:38:04Speaker 18: straight up did not think it was something that they
- 2:38:06Speaker 18: would be doing at this point.
- 2:38:09Speaker 2: So that one really got me. Broad Lesson's return at Somerset.
- 2:38:14Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that is a good one, because he had
- 2:38:16Speaker 3: no body saw that coming.
- 2:38:18Speaker 7: No, Nope, I thought that man was done. I thought
- 2:38:21Speaker 7: he was retired. I thought he was up in the
- 2:38:22Speaker 7: mountains go hunting. Yeah, I thought he was done. But uh,
- 2:38:31Speaker 7: all right, this is the last one. This is the
- 2:38:34Speaker 7: one that Doyle has. Uh, go ahead, Doyle bringing on up.
- 2:38:40Speaker 2: Oh okay, so this is see. I'm not mad. I'm
- 2:38:43Speaker 2: just disappointed award. I'm sure everyone's parents said that to him.
- 2:38:47Speaker 6: At least once whenever kid, I got it pretty much daily.
- 2:38:52Speaker 6: But that's beside the point. Uh, And I'll be in
- 2:38:55Speaker 6: that effort of full transparency. I invented this award because
- 2:38:58Speaker 6: I couldn't think. So another way to get to the
- 2:39:01Speaker 6: thing that I'm going to award this award to I
- 2:39:05Speaker 6: run this up would be the New Day Heel turned,
- 2:39:10Speaker 6: which I guess technically happened at the end of last year.
- 2:39:13Speaker 6: But the heel run happened this year, and there was
- 2:39:18Speaker 6: some fun to it. The dressing and the funeral garb
- 2:39:21Speaker 6: and stuff was fun. But by the attorney itself was
- 2:39:25Speaker 6: so fucking.
- 2:39:26Speaker 2: Great and nothing really happened after that. So that was
- 2:39:34Speaker 2: a huge letdown. And I alluded to it earlier.
- 2:39:36Speaker 6: The booking of Julia I thought was disappointing. You know,
- 2:39:41Speaker 6: I really thought she was going to be, you know,
- 2:39:44Speaker 6: in the main events scene by now, and she doesn't
- 2:39:47Speaker 6: look like she really particularly close, but I think she
- 2:39:50Speaker 6: can get there. But my winner, and the whole reason
- 2:39:53Speaker 6: I brought this or made this award, is that I
- 2:39:55Speaker 6: could talk about how disappointing it was when they brought
- 2:40:00Speaker 6: back our truth and we we were gonna get a
- 2:40:03Speaker 6: serious row on the truth Killings, and he shaved his
- 2:40:06Speaker 6: head and in a couple of weeks he was right
- 2:40:09Speaker 6: back to being that fucking goofball that we all kind
- 2:40:14Speaker 6: of lamented him being.
- 2:40:15Speaker 2: It was, which is fun, but we said, oh my god,
- 2:40:18Speaker 2: they're finally he's finally gonna get to be serious. He's
- 2:40:20Speaker 2: finally gonna get some meat, you know, something with meat
- 2:40:23Speaker 2: to chew on. And then he's right back to being
- 2:40:26Speaker 2: a goose. Uh So for the inaugural I'm not mad, I'm.
- 2:40:31Speaker 6: Just disappointed award, and I'm going with the extremely disappointing
- 2:40:35Speaker 6: booking of one mister Ron Killings.
- 2:40:42Speaker 7: Drey, what do you got, you know what?
- 2:40:45Speaker 3: That could very well be it right there, that Ron
- 2:40:49Speaker 3: killers once. I think I was so disappointed about that
- 2:40:51Speaker 3: when I just persed that from my memory, that's a
- 2:40:56Speaker 3: that's a damn valid one because yeah true he especially God,
- 2:41:00Speaker 3: we didn't even bring that up for Promo of the Year. Yeah,
- 2:41:04Speaker 3: how disappointing it was because that that moment we came
- 2:41:07Speaker 3: out there and cut his hair, he said, I'm no
- 2:41:10Speaker 3: longer all truth, I'm rod killing like that had all
- 2:41:14Speaker 3: of us talking.
- 2:41:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:41:16Speaker 6: Well, I wanted a way to bring this up, and
- 2:41:20Speaker 6: I couldn't quite put it into any other categories.
- 2:41:23Speaker 3: So I invented one. Yeah like that. That's a damn
- 2:41:28Speaker 3: good one. That's a damn good one, but it is
- 2:41:30Speaker 3: not the one that I chose for I'm Mad I'm
- 2:41:33Speaker 3: just Disappointed award. In fact, gave you all a bit
- 2:41:37Speaker 3: of a tease as far as who was going to
- 2:41:39Speaker 3: be and the fact that I have a new entrance
- 2:41:44Speaker 3: team for the podcast this year. Yep, my choice for
- 2:41:49Speaker 3: I'm not Mad, I'm just Disappointed award goes to Jay Uso.
- 2:41:56Speaker 3: As much as it hurts me to say that, and
- 2:41:58Speaker 3: that is because at the beginning of this year, and
- 2:42:03Speaker 3: it really hit for me when I came across the
- 2:42:07Speaker 3: clip from last year, not last year, from the end
- 2:42:10Speaker 3: of twenty twenty four, when Jay Usso was Intercontinental Champion
- 2:42:15Speaker 3: and was as hot as could be in WWE. I mean,
- 2:42:20Speaker 3: everybody was yeating with no complaints unless you just hated
- 2:42:24Speaker 3: Yeaton to begin with. But he made an appearance on
- 2:42:27Speaker 3: NXT with Trick Williams, and Trick Williams was NXT champion
- 2:42:31Speaker 3: and Jay was Intercontinental Champion, and that that NXT crowd
- 2:42:37Speaker 3: was on one thousand for them with the whole well,
- 2:42:43Speaker 3: that trick, and it just reminded me of just how
- 2:42:47Speaker 3: hot Jay was. And then the year starts off and
- 2:42:52Speaker 3: he gets the surprise win of the Royal Rumble. Could
- 2:42:58Speaker 3: have been a candidate for Swerve of the Year because
- 2:43:00Speaker 3: going in and you know, we all thought it was
- 2:43:02Speaker 3: gonna go to Sena or Punk those were the two,
- 2:43:06Speaker 3: you know, betting favorites, and it went to j and
- 2:43:10Speaker 3: I was like, okay, me personally, I was hyped for it.
- 2:43:14Speaker 3: I was like, hell, yeah, Jay, let's go. And you know,
- 2:43:19Speaker 3: going into WrestleMania, you know, as long as long as
- 2:43:22Speaker 3: it took us to get there, we got there and
- 2:43:24Speaker 3: they put the title on him and he's we're now
- 2:43:28Speaker 3: world champion. I'm happy for him, and then everything just
- 2:43:33Speaker 3: went downhill from there, and some of it you can't
- 2:43:41Speaker 3: some of it I won't blame j for, you know,
- 2:43:45Speaker 3: the long timeline between the Rumble and the WrestleMania. He
- 2:43:49Speaker 3: can't do anything about the timeline. The booking of the
- 2:43:52Speaker 3: feud was very lackluster, and by the time they finally
- 2:43:56Speaker 3: got going and they finally gave us stuff to get
- 2:43:59Speaker 3: in in with the feud between him and Gunster, it
- 2:44:02Speaker 3: was kind of too little, too late. And the match
- 2:44:05Speaker 3: itself wasn't horrible, but maybe the choice to have him
- 2:44:09Speaker 3: make Gunter tap out seemingly coming out of nowhere, that
- 2:44:13Speaker 3: didn't quite hit as the way they probably thought it would.
- 2:44:17Speaker 3: But the reason why Jay disappointed me is because he
- 2:44:23Speaker 3: was given the ball to run with and he did
- 2:44:28Speaker 3: not run with it. They gave him the opportunity, and
- 2:44:32Speaker 3: especially if you watch for those who have watched Unreal
- 2:44:38Speaker 3: there they it was talked about in one of the episodes,
- 2:44:42Speaker 3: and you know, Triple Ace said, you know, we're giving
- 2:44:45Speaker 3: you the ball to run with, you know were you know,
- 2:44:48Speaker 3: he said something basically to the effect of, don't disappoint me,
- 2:44:52Speaker 3: you know, don't let me down. This is your opportunity.
- 2:44:55Speaker 3: And we know those opportunities don't come along for everybody
- 2:44:59Speaker 3: too often. So when you get it. It's on you
- 2:45:02Speaker 3: to make the most of it. And Jay, he was
- 2:45:06Speaker 3: one of the guys that I defended as to the
- 2:45:09Speaker 3: to the tilt for the whole year as he like,
- 2:45:13Speaker 3: you know, I'm still riding with him, I'm still rocking
- 2:45:16Speaker 3: with him. You know, I was still as a fan,
- 2:45:20Speaker 3: was waiting for him to take that next step, for
- 2:45:23Speaker 3: him to step his game up. Like they're giving you
- 2:45:27Speaker 3: your chance to be a top guy. You've got the fans,
- 2:45:30Speaker 3: you've got the aura, you've got the momentum, you've got
- 2:45:34Speaker 3: the look. You just two things that you need to work.
- 2:45:37Speaker 3: You need to put the work in and improve your
- 2:45:40Speaker 3: n ring work. He didn't do that. And you need
- 2:45:43Speaker 3: to work on your MIC to be main event level.
- 2:45:47Speaker 3: He didn't do that. He just kind of stayed the
- 2:45:52Speaker 3: same when he should have elevated and taken him himself
- 2:45:56Speaker 3: and his work to the next level. And it would
- 2:45:59Speaker 3: have probably litified him as a permanent main eventor but
- 2:46:03Speaker 3: he didn't do it, and as a result, that short,
- 2:46:07Speaker 3: that title reign was short. Fans turned on him, even
- 2:46:10Speaker 3: though they tried to keep him back in the main
- 2:46:12Speaker 3: event scene. And you know, in terms of number one
- 2:46:15Speaker 3: contender tournaments and all that stuff, and the fans just
- 2:46:18Speaker 3: won't win it, And now where is he back where
- 2:46:22Speaker 3: he was before? Tag Team? Yeah, they had champions. Yeah,
- 2:46:26Speaker 3: fans seemed to be happy with it. But to me,
- 2:46:29Speaker 3: it just feels like a major letdown because I wanted
- 2:46:34Speaker 3: more for j But it's probably not gonna happen, and
- 2:46:38Speaker 3: I'd be surprised if Jay ever becomes a world champion again.
- 2:46:44Speaker 3: So he's my I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed award winner,
- 2:46:48Speaker 3: and it hurts me to say that mine is not.
- 2:46:52Speaker 3: I'm gonna still be rocking my Geat shirts though sprang.
- 2:46:56Speaker 7: Mine is not so much of a wrestler or storyline.
- 2:47:01Speaker 7: It's more or less the company ticket prices. I firmly
- 2:47:08Speaker 7: believe that the WrestleMania that we went to, WrestleMania forty
- 2:47:14Speaker 7: was probably the last affordable WrestleMania. The prices to go
- 2:47:22Speaker 7: to pay per views and and just everything is just insane. Hell,
- 2:47:30Speaker 7: we can't even go to WrestleMania next year. It's in
- 2:47:32Speaker 7: Saudi Arabia. We can't even go to the Rumble. It's
- 2:47:35Speaker 7: in Saudi Like you if you will, I mean you could.
- 2:47:41Speaker 3: Savings for it.
- 2:47:42Speaker 7: Yeah, listen, you know what I'll go. How about listeners
- 2:47:46Speaker 7: from the show, just send in a little bit of
- 2:47:48Speaker 7: money and I'll go to Saudi Arabia.
- 2:47:52Speaker 2: The Saudi tickets are much much cheaper than they are
- 2:47:56Speaker 2: for us.
- 2:47:57Speaker 7: I bet.
- 2:48:00Speaker 6: You have to get there and stuff and you know,
- 2:48:03Speaker 6: and not drink alcohol or be a woman or be
- 2:48:08Speaker 6: gay or be you know, but other than that.
- 2:48:12Speaker 2: But the ticket prices actually are very affordable.
- 2:48:14Speaker 6: And I guess part of that is because they want
- 2:48:16Speaker 6: to you know, they want that's the whole point of
- 2:48:19Speaker 6: this is the sports.
- 2:48:21Speaker 3: Economy, sportswash and all that. Yeah, I mean, you gotta
- 2:48:24Speaker 3: be one hell of a savvy as fricking world traveler
- 2:48:27Speaker 3: to pull that trip off affordably. Like what the verbals?
- 2:48:31Speaker 3: What the Airbnb is going for Saudi Arabia?
- 2:48:35Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, man, I mean just just that. I mean
- 2:48:40Speaker 7: that's really what's disappointed with this company is just ticket prices.
- 2:48:43Speaker 3: Like like.
- 2:48:46Speaker 7: The raw deal with Netflix isn't enough, the ESPN deal
- 2:48:51Speaker 7: isn't enough, the what was left of the Peacock deal
- 2:48:55Speaker 7: wasn't enough. The you know, the merch everything, you know
- 2:49:00Speaker 7: that all the the logos in the ring, Now that's
- 2:49:03Speaker 7: not enough. But like you know, it's just like when
- 2:49:07Speaker 7: is it enough?
- 2:49:08Speaker 2: Man?
- 2:49:08Speaker 7: Like, you're literally pricing out your fans to the super rich.
- 2:49:14Speaker 7: I believe brock Lesnar's shirt guy said he's no longer
- 2:49:17Speaker 7: going to wrestling shows. He retired his shirt. He burnt it,
- 2:49:22Speaker 7: like brock Lessnar Guyne I think he said he burnt it.
- 2:49:25Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I know he saw the clip where he
- 2:49:28Speaker 3: like laid it down in the seat and walked away.
- 2:49:30Speaker 3: I didn't know he burned it afterwards.
- 2:49:31Speaker 7: Yeah, he's burning it. Yeah, he's done man, Like, people
- 2:49:35Speaker 7: are just done with it that the prices are just
- 2:49:39Speaker 7: price just keeping us from going. Like they were here
- 2:49:43Speaker 7: at Giant in her She not too long ago, and
- 2:49:45Speaker 7: I literally was there the next night, Like but like
- 2:49:48Speaker 7: I didn't want to go because I wasn't gonna pay
- 2:49:50Speaker 7: that fucking price, dude, Like it was this insane. But
- 2:49:58Speaker 7: let's hope for h a better year.
- 2:50:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not gonna be as optimistic about a better
- 2:50:06Speaker 3: year because unfortunately, as bad as it is, what are
- 2:50:12Speaker 3: they still posting about almost every show sold out? Recregate
- 2:50:17Speaker 3: YadA YadA, Like we just saw that. They just recently
- 2:50:21Speaker 3: posted about the live show they did in Glasgow with
- 2:50:25Speaker 3: drewge Champion. It sold out. Yeah, eleven, like almost twelve
- 2:50:31Speaker 3: thousand tickets sold, and I'm pretty sure and I don't
- 2:50:34Speaker 3: think they cutting. You know, people in Glasgow would deal
- 2:50:38Speaker 3: versus people in the States. Now obviously Drew being champion,
- 2:50:41Speaker 3: it'd be homecoming had something to.
- 2:50:43Speaker 2: Do with that.
- 2:50:44Speaker 3: But that's just all part of It's all part of
- 2:50:47Speaker 3: the game. We got a show to sell. What can
- 2:50:50Speaker 3: we do that's gonna put the butts in the seats. Well,
- 2:50:52Speaker 3: let's make their hometown guy the WWE champion. I'm pretty
- 2:50:57Speaker 3: sure that. God, I don't think it was sold out
- 2:50:59Speaker 3: before drew one, but I bet the moment drew one,
- 2:51:03Speaker 3: that belt them tickets flew because I mean, they're still
- 2:51:09Speaker 3: gonna keep playing the game. And as long as people
- 2:51:11Speaker 3: are putting, long as butts are going in seats, w
- 2:51:15Speaker 3: W is not gonna have any reason to change until
- 2:51:18Speaker 3: people decide to vote with their wallace. Yeah mm hmm,
- 2:51:31Speaker 3: well at least those one category left.
- 2:51:34Speaker 7: No, that's it, man, That's that's it.
- 2:51:37Speaker 3: No, it's not no.
- 2:51:41Speaker 2: Botch and match.
- 2:51:45Speaker 3: Damsel didn't do matches year.
- 2:51:46Speaker 7: That's why, Yeah, I took I took. I did take
- 2:51:49Speaker 7: Botch of the Year off because every year when we
- 2:51:53Speaker 7: do it. It's always hard to find one unless you
- 2:51:55Speaker 7: guys found one. I didn't. I didn't do it.
- 2:51:58Speaker 3: I didn't put any thought into about Guess and Doul.
- 2:52:00Speaker 3: You've got a couple.
- 2:52:03Speaker 6: Well, I mean, I I just I just I put
- 2:52:06Speaker 6: uh the shift to Netflix, and then there's the shift
- 2:52:10Speaker 6: of pl' the ESPN.
- 2:52:11Speaker 2: It's just a sucking total botch.
- 2:52:15Speaker 1: Like it.
- 2:52:17Speaker 3: Like of the year.
- 2:52:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's true. But I mean, like we we
- 2:52:23Speaker 2: were even talking about it, I think before we even
- 2:52:25Speaker 2: came on. Like sometimes when.
- 2:52:27Speaker 6: I watch Raw after the fact, I can faster the
- 2:52:31Speaker 6: fast forward through the commercials.
- 2:52:32Speaker 2: Sometimes I can't. Sometimes there are no commercials at all.
- 2:52:36Speaker 2: And then like the ESPN thing, still people still don't
- 2:52:39Speaker 2: know how to do this. There's so much confusion. If
- 2:52:42Speaker 2: you have cable and you have the ESPN, don't worry.
- 2:52:45Speaker 2: You can have this no problem. But that's not what happened.
- 2:52:48Speaker 2: Like and and I'm going to continue to bitch about
- 2:52:51Speaker 2: this until it's rectified. And and it's it's fighting the
- 2:52:56Speaker 2: hand of beads because I'm.
- 2:52:59Speaker 6: Sitting in the house paid for it by Exfinity, but
- 2:53:02Speaker 6: Eccinity is a sponsor the fucking show.
- 2:53:05Speaker 2: But you can't watch it on Incfinity.
- 2:53:07Speaker 6: It's so goddamn stupid and still, I mean you still
- 2:53:11Speaker 6: see on on on if you're in any any social
- 2:53:14Speaker 6: media groups. Still people that aren't sure where the pay
- 2:53:18Speaker 6: per view is when it is, how they can watch it.
- 2:53:21Speaker 19: It's just such a fucking bungle. Uh, total funks for funk.
- 2:53:26Speaker 19: I know they think that they're expanding their reach or whatever,
- 2:53:29Speaker 19: but it's just confusing. And now you've got to have
- 2:53:33Speaker 19: what you have to Peacock to watch NXC pay per views.
- 2:53:36Speaker 14: You're gonna have ESPN Unlimited to watch the main roster
- 2:53:41Speaker 14: pay per views. You need to have USA to watch Mackdown.
- 2:53:44Speaker 14: You haven't need to have Netflix to watch.
- 2:53:48Speaker 3: Raw and the Library.
- 2:53:50Speaker 2: Uh, you need to have the c W right to
- 2:53:53Speaker 2: watch the NXED weekly shows. And then the.
- 2:54:00Speaker 6: Evolved or whatever it is is on like t B
- 2:54:02Speaker 6: or something like that. And it's just like what the
- 2:54:05Speaker 6: I mean, it's sports, are it in the same way?
- 2:54:08Speaker 2: Uh?
- 2:54:08Speaker 6: You know to the NFL playoffs games to watch all
- 2:54:11Speaker 6: of them, you had to switch You have to switch
- 2:54:13Speaker 6: channels indoor services a dozen times.
- 2:54:16Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:54:16Speaker 2: I mean, this is not just a WWE problem, but
- 2:54:20Speaker 2: it's just fucking ridiculous.
- 2:54:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's a very valid one. Yet, just the
- 2:54:25Speaker 3: whole rollout over ESPN, Like, I'm still waiting. I'm still
- 2:54:29Speaker 3: waiting for them to work it out with YouTube TV.
- 2:54:33Speaker 3: I mean, ESPN is back on YouTube TV, but I'm
- 2:54:35Speaker 3: still working. But they promised that, you know, we're gonna
- 2:54:37Speaker 3: get espnlimited as part of you know, being subscribed to
- 2:54:42Speaker 3: YouTube TV in twenty twenty six. I'm still waiting for
- 2:54:44Speaker 3: that to happen. So, yeah, they completely It's probably because
- 2:54:49Speaker 3: they've rushed the deal so fast that they didn't have the.
- 2:54:52Speaker 2: Yeah, well I supposed to happen until after WrestleMania. I
- 2:54:56Speaker 2: don't think, right.
- 2:54:57Speaker 3: It wasn't supposed to happen until this year. The year
- 2:55:00Speaker 3: this year it was supposed to happen. But obviously it
- 2:55:03Speaker 3: happened once early.
- 2:55:04Speaker 2: Yeah, they weren't ready. They got caught with their pants down,
- 2:55:08Speaker 2: and they pulled their own pants down.
- 2:55:11Speaker 3: Somebody else did right their pants for themselves.
- 2:55:17Speaker 2: All right, let's you match of the year and get
- 2:55:19Speaker 2: the flock out of here.
- 2:55:20Speaker 7: Yeah all right, man, Uh my third place match of
- 2:55:25Speaker 7: the year, I have third second. First, I actually had
- 2:55:30Speaker 7: the SmackDown tag titles match.
- 2:55:33Speaker 4: Uh.
- 2:55:33Speaker 7: It was Motortiting Machine Guns versus The Street Profits. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:55:39Speaker 7: go back, you haven't go back and watch it. It
- 2:55:42Speaker 7: was entertaining as ship and it was like, now this
- 2:55:46Speaker 7: is tag team wrestling. I also had the triple threat
- 2:55:53Speaker 7: match at Wrestlmania with Seth rollind Cmpunk and Roman Reigns.
- 2:55:59Speaker 7: Great match. Got to see Punk finally in the main
- 2:56:03Speaker 7: event at WrestleMania, finally got his dream. But uh yeah,
- 2:56:08Speaker 7: a great fucking match. Uh And for me, match of
- 2:56:11Speaker 7: the Year was honestly John Cena versus AJ Styles. Dude,
- 2:56:18Speaker 7: I had so much fun during that fucking match. Uh.
- 2:56:22Speaker 7: You know, we got to see him use each other's moves.
- 2:56:25Speaker 7: We got to see uh, you know, seeing to use
- 2:56:28Speaker 7: the Sister Abigail, We got to see the r KO,
- 2:56:32Speaker 7: the you know, he did the apron DDT, and we
- 2:56:35Speaker 7: got to see him break out a few other moves
- 2:56:37Speaker 7: like the tombstone pile driver, and so I don't know,
- 2:56:41Speaker 7: I just it was fun and the and it was
- 2:56:44Speaker 7: nice because like it was a match we all wanted,
- 2:56:47Speaker 7: you know. When I heard Johnson was doing this retirement tour,
- 2:56:50Speaker 7: that was one of the matches, I was like, oh,
- 2:56:52Speaker 7: let's revisit AJ Styles and John Cena just once right,
- 2:56:56Speaker 7: and it's kind of what all the fans wanted, and
- 2:57:00Speaker 7: you know, just on Twitter, they're like, you know you
- 2:57:02Speaker 7: want to do this, let's do this, And before you
- 2:57:05Speaker 7: know it, we had a wrestling match really like what
- 2:57:09Speaker 7: one promo. Maybe we didn't even really need to build
- 2:57:13Speaker 7: up to it. We already wanted it, We got it,
- 2:57:16Speaker 7: and the outcome was good and then they walked away.
- 2:57:19Speaker 3: That was it.
- 2:57:20Speaker 7: Like that's all I needed. That was awesome.
- 2:57:24Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:57:25Speaker 7: I had a great time with it. So if you
- 2:57:28Speaker 7: haven't caught it, go back and watch Johnson Universus AJ Styles.
- 2:57:31Speaker 7: I mean, it's it's fucking great. Uh Dre, what'd you
- 2:57:35Speaker 7: have for Match of the year?
- 2:57:38Speaker 3: Okay, I don't necessarily have a three two one, but
- 2:57:40Speaker 3: I do have a number of honorable mentions that I'll
- 2:57:42Speaker 3: play highlight. One I'm going to give an honorable mention
- 2:57:46Speaker 3: too is Chad Gable versus Eil Devla king Go from
- 2:57:51Speaker 3: Triple A Worlds Collide earlier this year.
- 2:57:54Speaker 2: That was.
- 2:57:57Speaker 3: A wrestling clinic and a and a merging of styles
- 2:58:01Speaker 3: between Chad Gable and his technical wrestling style with the
- 2:58:05Speaker 3: Lucha door style of Kingo, and it just merged beautifully
- 2:58:11Speaker 3: though that match. Some of the spots that a KINGO
- 2:58:14Speaker 3: does in that matches will blow your socks off. It
- 2:58:17Speaker 3: is absolutely a must watch match, So shout out to
- 2:58:21Speaker 3: that one. I'll give honorable mention to Johnson to AJ
- 2:58:24Speaker 3: Styles match because Yeah, that that may have been probably
- 2:58:27Speaker 3: the single most fun match of the year just with
- 2:58:31Speaker 3: john and AJ just paying love to WWE and TNA
- 2:58:37Speaker 3: Legends of pass by doing their signature moves back and forth.
- 2:58:40Speaker 3: That match was yet pure entertainment fun. Honorable mentioned to
- 2:58:45Speaker 3: Johnson Universus Cody from SummerSlam. I think that was probably
- 2:58:49Speaker 3: the from the on the men's side, the single best
- 2:58:55Speaker 3: World title match that we got this year was probably
- 2:59:01Speaker 3: that match. That was a match that truly felt like
- 2:59:05Speaker 3: a match for the richest prize in the game. It
- 2:59:09Speaker 3: really it had that feel to it. That was again
- 2:59:13Speaker 3: great match by that same token. On the women's side,
- 2:59:18Speaker 3: I would say probably one of the single best one
- 2:59:23Speaker 3: on one women's title matches we got. I'm gonna give
- 2:59:26Speaker 3: honorable mention to is Real Ripley versus EO Sky the
- 2:59:31Speaker 3: match that they had at Evolution, which I thought was
- 2:59:34Speaker 3: better than the match that they had on Raw earlier
- 2:59:37Speaker 3: that year where EO won the title. I think their
- 2:59:40Speaker 3: rematch of Evolution was just a little bit better, but
- 2:59:43Speaker 3: that was a phenomenal match, which was also the match
- 2:59:47Speaker 3: where Naomi cashed in her money in the break briefcase,
- 2:59:50Speaker 3: so I can't leave Naomi out of that match. But
- 2:59:55Speaker 3: for what it's worth, my match of the year, my
- 2:59:57Speaker 3: number one match.
- 2:59:58Speaker 2: Of the year.
- 3:00:00Speaker 3: Goes to the women, and it is Bianca bel Air
- 3:00:04Speaker 3: versus Rea Ripley versus the EO Sky and that triple
- 3:00:08Speaker 3: threat match at Russellmania forty one. That match was as
- 3:00:15Speaker 3: close to perfect as you could get from the even
- 3:00:19Speaker 3: from the from the storyline build up. As much as
- 3:00:22Speaker 3: I was annoyed that real Ripley was forced into the match,
- 3:00:27Speaker 3: that means that storyline did his job because it got
- 3:00:29Speaker 3: be invested. And EO Sky being the one that was
- 3:00:35Speaker 3: treated as the afterthought and then standing up for herself
- 3:00:39Speaker 3: and saying, no, y'all gonna stop treating me as afterthought,
- 3:00:41Speaker 3: y'all gonna put some respect on my name. I'm the
- 3:00:44Speaker 3: fucking champion, and nobody thought that she was gonna walk
- 3:00:47Speaker 3: out his champion. They looked everybody looked at EO as yes,
- 3:00:52Speaker 3: the third wheel on the bicycle between Bianca and Rea Ripley,
- 3:00:56Speaker 3: because that's what people wanted. We wanted Bianca versus Ripley.
- 3:00:58Speaker 3: We thought we were gonna get it, and then they
- 3:01:00Speaker 3: swerved us by having EO win the title. That could
- 3:01:04Speaker 3: have been a candidate for Swerve for the year. But
- 3:01:08Speaker 3: she went into that match and came out successfully defended
- 3:01:12Speaker 3: that match, And like I said, that match from bell
- 3:01:15Speaker 3: to bell was top notch, absolutely incredible. But then EO
- 3:01:22Speaker 3: to come out of that successfully defending against those two
- 3:01:26Speaker 3: solidified her as a main event player. It gave her
- 3:01:30Speaker 3: that permanent main event, top tier status and you know,
- 3:01:36Speaker 3: from moving forward, she can enter the title picture at
- 3:01:40Speaker 3: any moment, and it's immediately credible that that match also
- 3:01:44Speaker 3: helped solidify her status as what we've called her, you know,
- 3:01:48Speaker 3: the best women's wrestler or the best wrestler period in
- 3:01:53Speaker 3: the business today. It started here with this match at WrestleMania.
- 3:01:59Speaker 3: So my money, this was my match of the year.
- 3:02:04Speaker 3: The only bad thing that came out of it is
- 3:02:06Speaker 3: that it cost us Bianco bell lair jury.
- 3:02:09Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, dude, that's that's so true. Uh doll, what
- 3:02:17Speaker 7: do you got for match.
- 3:02:18Speaker 3: Of the year.
- 3:02:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll just give a couple of my honorable mentions.
- 3:02:23Speaker 2: Some of them you guys mentioned, some of them you didn't.
- 3:02:27Speaker 6: Uh saw Roker versus Jada Parker at Battleground.
- 3:02:33Speaker 2: I think there was not I think the ending wasn't
- 3:02:35Speaker 2: so great. I think there was kind of a botch
- 3:02:37Speaker 2: finish on that one, but it was a fun match anyway.
- 3:02:41Speaker 2: O versus Javon Evans at.
- 3:02:43Speaker 3: Heat Waves was great.
- 3:02:46Speaker 2: Going back to those Worlds Collide.
- 3:02:48Speaker 6: Shows, Man, I promise I'm not gonna go into a
- 3:02:51Speaker 6: half hour rant about Triple A again, but uh, acting
- 3:02:54Speaker 6: on Junior Ariosto in this Yeguana versus Lynzterrnda Dorado literally
- 3:02:59Speaker 6: bit do uh Dragon.
- 3:03:01Speaker 2: Lee and Cruise del Toro was so much fucking fun.
- 3:03:04Speaker 6: Uh, the great Little Trios match. Uh yeah, just a
- 3:03:09Speaker 6: blast that that whole that that first first Worlds Collide.
- 3:03:13Speaker 6: It's something they're calling him, uh that they did over
- 3:03:16Speaker 6: the summer right after WrestleMania that.
- 3:03:18Speaker 2: Specifically that first show was just a blast. Yeah.
- 3:03:22Speaker 20: At the tag TM t l C right before Mania, Uh,
- 3:03:27Speaker 20: Kevin Owens and Sammy's Ain and that like unsanctioned match
- 3:03:30Speaker 20: they had at Elimination.
- 3:03:33Speaker 6: Chamber and then before that that somebody maybe mentioned the
- 3:03:37Speaker 6: Cody rhodes Ko Ladder match at the Rumble, that fucking
- 3:03:40Speaker 6: brutal spot where he did that like Suplexson in the
- 3:03:45Speaker 6: Ladder or whatever. Brutal uh e E and Rio and
- 3:03:55Speaker 6: from Evolution. Great match the Triple Threat with Seth Seth
- 3:03:59Speaker 6: Roman and Phil WrestleMania was great. My match of the
- 3:04:03Speaker 6: year any promotion anywhere in the world was Tony Storm
- 3:04:07Speaker 6: and Brian May and Hollywood ended that.
- 3:04:11Speaker 3: I'm meant to put that as my honorable mins. I'm
- 3:04:12Speaker 3: meant to bring that up. I'm glad you mentioned that one.
- 3:04:15Speaker 2: But my my WWE match of the year is the
- 3:04:18Speaker 2: women's Triple Threat. Uh I O Rea and Bilanca. Not
- 3:04:23Speaker 2: a whole lot to add.
- 3:04:24Speaker 6: You kind of nailed it, Dre, But I mean just
- 3:04:27Speaker 6: perfect Matt, you know, perfect mix of athleticism, storytelling.
- 3:04:31Speaker 2: The crowd was hot as fuck for it.
- 3:04:33Speaker 6: You know, every moment mattered. Uh you know, every near
- 3:04:36Speaker 6: fall ratcheted up the tension. You know, it really could
- 3:04:41Speaker 6: have gone anyway. And yeah, and the only bad thing
- 3:04:44Speaker 6: is that unfortunately it cost us Bianca for most of
- 3:04:47Speaker 6: the year. But uh I remember watching that machinetain the
- 3:04:54Speaker 6: thinking the Diamonds was so great and I said, I
- 3:04:56Speaker 6: can't wait to see whatever the match of the Year
- 3:04:58Speaker 6: ends up being, because it'll be better than this.
- 3:05:00Speaker 2: But it just never happened. Uh, yeah, that's great.
- 3:05:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah that one. I did go back and
- 3:05:11Speaker 3: watch the the Hollywood ending match between Tony Storm and
- 3:05:15Speaker 3: Mariah May and yeah, that match was fucking great. I
- 3:05:20Speaker 3: meant to bring that up in my honorable mentions. I
- 3:05:22Speaker 3: forgot about that match, but yeah.
- 3:05:26Speaker 7: Go back and uh check out. So if you if
- 3:05:29Speaker 7: you didn't get a chance to go back and check
- 3:05:31Speaker 7: out some of those matches.
- 3:05:33Speaker 3: Yeah, especially and I know we mentioned a couple of
- 3:05:36Speaker 3: them Triple A matches, but yeah, they're all on YouTube
- 3:05:39Speaker 3: for people to watch, like the whole shows. You can
- 3:05:42Speaker 3: lie stream them. I don't know that there's a single
- 3:05:44Speaker 3: bad match on any of those shows. On any of them.
- 3:05:48Speaker 3: I can't even give a shout out to what was
- 3:05:51Speaker 3: the one I just watched Javan Evans, Cartwill and somebody
- 3:05:57Speaker 3: else I'm blanking on right now, but they had a
- 3:06:01Speaker 3: phenomenal match at just right at the end of the year. Almost. Yeah,
- 3:06:09Speaker 3: just going ww YouTube and look up Triple A. Their
- 3:06:12Speaker 3: shows are there and top tier matches all up and
- 3:06:16Speaker 3: down the.
- 3:06:16Speaker 7: Card that uh that does the far Slammy Awards for
- 3:06:22Speaker 7: twenty twenty five and put that shit in the can
- 3:06:27Speaker 7: just real quick. I'm gonna run it down real fast.
- 3:06:31Speaker 7: But oh yeah, we did have breaking news TNA debuts.
- 3:06:37Speaker 7: Former ww wrestlers Sonya Deville and cor Jade have debuted
- 3:06:43Speaker 7: in TNA Wrestling tonight. I'm probably gonna go back and
- 3:06:47Speaker 7: watch that TENA episode to see that aj styles match,
- 3:06:51Speaker 7: see who he fought. Also, I did say I bring
- 3:06:56Speaker 7: up real quick, who's all on the injured roster? In
- 3:06:58Speaker 7: case people are thinking and curious?
- 3:07:02Speaker 3: Just shut down?
- 3:07:02Speaker 7: Then? Yeah, I know I was thinking the same thing. Uh,
- 3:07:06Speaker 7: people who are curious, who are all might not be
- 3:07:09Speaker 7: in the rumble? And these are guaranteed thus far because
- 3:07:12Speaker 7: they are on the injured roster. That is Chad Gable,
- 3:07:16Speaker 7: Dominic Mysterio, JD McDonough, l A Knight, Naomi Seth, Rollins, Seamus,
- 3:07:23Speaker 7: Zoe Stark, Elton, Prince, Kevin Owens, meet Chen Piper, Nevin
- 3:07:30Speaker 7: and Omas.
- 3:07:32Speaker 3: You're saying all those people are guaranteed to not be
- 3:07:34Speaker 3: in the rumble.
- 3:07:35Speaker 7: Those are just injured people that could not be that
- 3:07:38Speaker 7: might not be in the rumble because they're still on
- 3:07:40Speaker 7: the injured.
- 3:07:41Speaker 3: There's a number of people.
- 3:07:45Speaker 7: Exactly, but as of right now, yeah, even maybe Kevin
- 3:07:50Speaker 7: Owens and you know, beyondlare.
- 3:07:55Speaker 3: Kevin Owens. I would say two people that I would
- 3:07:58Speaker 3: say are guarant tea to not be in the rumble
- 3:08:01Speaker 3: are Kevin Owens and Piper Knivin because of the severity
- 3:08:05Speaker 3: of their injuries. Yeah. Yeah, her career may very well
- 3:08:10Speaker 3: be over. And we ain't heard nothing about Kevin Owens.
- 3:08:13Speaker 3: People are getting people are starting to do this thing
- 3:08:15Speaker 3: where we ain't heard nothing from somebody in a while,
- 3:08:18Speaker 3: which means maybe they're coming back. No, that's just gonna
- 3:08:22Speaker 3: tell fans now, right now, don't start that ship with
- 3:08:25Speaker 3: Kevin Owens. That man's neck injury was nothing to sneeze at.
- 3:08:28Speaker 3: It was very serious, very severe. We'll see him when
- 3:08:33Speaker 3: we'll see him, period. Don't don't please, don't start the
- 3:08:37Speaker 3: whole speculation thing. Kevin Owens might show up here, Kevin
- 3:08:40Speaker 3: show up here, Kevin Owens might be here. Kevin. No,
- 3:08:43Speaker 3: I'm not trying to hear that from the fans all
- 3:08:45Speaker 3: year at every major event.
- 3:08:50Speaker 2: For six months.
- 3:08:52Speaker 3: Could he return here? Could he return here could he
- 3:08:54Speaker 3: return it? No, you see him when you see him.
- 3:09:00Speaker 7: Yeah, you see him when you see him. So well, man,
- 3:09:03Speaker 7: the a long fucking episode. So Dre, you got anything
