- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. I'm sorry.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I can't get behind that voice. I know you like it.
- 0:16Speaker 1: I don't like it. Anyway. All right. Hello, Big Blue.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I got totally sidetracked. I think I'm talking
- 0:25Speaker 1: to you right now, but good morning. Hello, Big Blue Nation.
- 0:29Speaker 1: This is just the cats. I I've really, uh, it's Friday.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Can we restart? I don't like that. Okay. You don't. Hello,
- 0:35Speaker 1: big blue nation. How's that? Yeah. Love it. This is
- 0:37Speaker 1: just the cats. My name is Michael Bennett on this Friday.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I know Justin's excited about that. September 18th. Hope everybody's
- 0:44Speaker 1: having a great day. It's it's, it's, it's, It's kind
- 0:48Speaker 1: of dark outside, and I look out, and it's really
- 0:50Speaker 1: not that cloudy, but it just feels really dark. Yeah,
- 0:54Speaker 1: what's going on? It's just days are getting shorter, which
- 0:56Speaker 1: is a real bummer to me. But I am ready
- 0:59Speaker 1: for the weekend. I'm excited about it. Got a fun-filled, packed,
- 1:02Speaker 1: full weekend of all kinds of stuff, including football. But
- 1:07Speaker 1: we'll talk about that a little later. But, yeah, I'm
- 1:10Speaker 1: excited about that. I know you are, too, because I'm
- 1:13Speaker 1: sure you have lots of stuff going on. Is that fair?
- 1:16Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:17Speaker 2: To my knowledge, and I'm going to regret saying this,
- 1:21Speaker 2: I'm sure.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Uh-oh.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I don't have anything going on this week. Oh, that
- 1:25Speaker 2: means it's going to be the busiest weekend of your life.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Probably so. That's not good. Yeah. Because I need you
- 1:30Speaker 1: coming in Monday morning refreshed and ready to go. I'll
- 1:33Speaker 1: be good to go. You'll come in tired. I'll be
- 1:34Speaker 1: good to go. It's like, oh, my gosh, you won't
- 1:36Speaker 1: believe the weekend I had.
- 1:37Speaker 2: If there's one thing I can guarantee you, on Sunday nights,
- 1:41Speaker 2: I sleep.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Oh, it is? Oh, yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'm in bed super early on Sunday.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:45Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:46Speaker 2: What is super early to you? Typically around nine. Oh, okay.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Well, that's not super early to me, but okay. Got it.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Most nights I'll make it up till nine 30, 10.
- 1:57Speaker 1: You will.
- 1:57Speaker 2: But Sunday nights I'm typically in bed by nine.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Are you really? Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Golly.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And you're single and you're young and you're in bed
- 2:04Speaker 1: by nine. Yeah. I'm kind of a loser. What do
- 2:06Speaker 1: you want? No, I'm not saying that. My goodness. I
- 2:09Speaker 1: would never say that about you. You are the, you
- 2:11Speaker 1: are far from being that, but no, it's pretty close though.
- 2:16Speaker 1: You're far from being that, but actually pretty close. Exactly.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I'm just trying to mess with you. You're no loser
- 2:22Speaker 1: at all. You're a lot of fun. And the right
- 2:25Speaker 1: lady is coming in your life very soon. I hope not.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I see my eyes are closed right now. I'm concentrating.
- 2:31Speaker 1: That lady is thinking about you right now. Hope you're wrong.
- 2:35Speaker 1: She will be in your life within the next 30 days. Whoa,
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm not ready for that. Yeah, I'm sorry. The inevitable
- 2:41Speaker 1: is happening, and it's coming. Didn't realize I was doing
- 2:44Speaker 1: radio with Zoltar this morning. Absolutely, and guess what? It
- 2:47Speaker 1: didn't even cost you a quarter. You didn't have to
- 2:49Speaker 1: shake it or anything. You didn't have to point the
- 2:51Speaker 1: hand to get the quarter into the mouth. But you're
- 2:56Speaker 1: using the Big reference, right? The what? The reference from Big.
- 3:00Speaker 1: The movie? Yes. I've never seen that movie. Are you serious?
- 3:04Speaker 1: I think the game that he used to make himself
- 3:06Speaker 1: wish he was big was called Zoltar. Well, Zoltars are everywhere. Oh,
- 3:11Speaker 1: they are? So it was a real game. I didn't
- 3:13Speaker 1: realize it was a real game.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Is it a game? I think it's just a thing
- 3:17Speaker 2: you put the quarter in and the dude reads your future.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Yes. Okay. I didn't realize Zoltar was real. I just
- 3:23Speaker 1: assumed you were referring to the movie Big with Tom Hanks.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I need to see that one, but I have not.
- 3:29Speaker 1: It's a great movie. With Robert Delogia in it. And
- 3:32Speaker 1: that's where they do the famous scene where they're at
- 3:35Speaker 1: FAO Schwartz toy store in New York City, which is now,
- 3:39Speaker 1: it's across the street from Central Park. It is now
- 3:42Speaker 1: a Apple store of all things. And that was the
- 3:46Speaker 1: world famous toy story. And that's where they have the
- 3:50Speaker 1: big piano keyboards on the floor and they do the dance.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I'm sure you've seen that.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Haven't you? Yeah. Because that's kind of a, iconic movie
- 3:58Speaker 1: scene with everybody remembers with Tom Hanks.
- 4:01Speaker 2: By the way, you can buy one of those machines
- 4:03Speaker 2: for $ 10, 000.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Wow. All you're doing is put a quarter in, pointing
- 4:10Speaker 1: to a mouth, and that's it.
- 4:11Speaker 2: You're never going to make your money back.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Well, not just that, but, I mean, what do you–
- 4:17Speaker 1: how do you fulfill a life with that? I can
- 4:19Speaker 1: see– well, I still wouldn't spend $ 10, 000 on it. It's
- 4:23Speaker 1: interesting you look that up. I would probably– I've always
- 4:27Speaker 1: wanted a pinball machine. Okay. But I wouldn't spend that
- 4:30Speaker 1: much money on it because I think I would use
- 4:33Speaker 1: a pinball machine probably two or three days and I'd
- 4:36Speaker 1: be done. You looking for a certain theme?
- 4:38Speaker 3: Ooh.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Because I know it's going to probably be animation more
- 4:47Speaker 1: than anything else. Is that fair to say? If there
- 4:50Speaker 1: was a certain theme, I'm trying to think what theme
- 4:52Speaker 1: I would want. I'd probably want a tropical one. How
- 4:55Speaker 1: about horse racing? A Tampa Bay. Oh, that would be
- 4:57Speaker 1: a great one right there. A horse racing themed one. Yes.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Is there such a thing?
- 5:01Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Is there really?
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Wow.
- 5:04Speaker 2: There's pinball machines for everything.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Is there really? Okay. You can get one for four grand.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Is that all? Okay. I might want a UK one then.
- 5:13Speaker 1: is there a uk uh you probably have to get
- 5:15Speaker 1: that custom okay i'm not spending that kind of money
- 5:17Speaker 1: but uh no i i'd want that i'd want a
- 5:20Speaker 1: pac-man i always loved pac-man as a kid my mom
- 5:23Speaker 1: at my my mom's husband bought for christmas he bought
- 5:26Speaker 1: her this game box it's pretty big it's probably like
- 5:30Speaker 1: two feet tall but you can lug it around anywhere
- 5:33Speaker 1: with you and plug it in and sit there and
- 5:35Speaker 1: play but it's got like pac-man uh Galaga, Dig Dug,
- 5:39Speaker 1: like all the classic games on it. Are you playing
- 5:41Speaker 1: it on TV?
- 5:43Speaker 3: No.
- 5:43Speaker 2: So it just like sits on the counter. It's got
- 5:46Speaker 2: like the knobs and everything that you move around.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Right. Like the joystick. Yeah. Oh, it's fun. I'll never
- 5:51Speaker 1: forget playing the golf one. You know how you have
- 5:53Speaker 1: that gigantic ball? Golden Tee? Oh, yes. It's called Golden
- 5:57Speaker 1: Tee where you take your palm of your hand and
- 6:00Speaker 1: you spin that big balls. I jammed my finger one time.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I was trying to spin it so hard.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Totally they still have those around do they really oh
- 6:08Speaker 2: yeah i i guess it's david and buster's the place
- 6:12Speaker 2: you go and play these kind of games is that
- 6:14Speaker 2: the only place anymore there's a restaurant which i absolutely
- 6:18Speaker 2: despise so i'm not going to shout them out but
- 6:20Speaker 2: there's one in clarksville that there's a restaurant that has
- 6:23Speaker 2: a golden.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Oh really why don't you like the restaurant.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Uh they've just they've screwed me over so many times
- 6:28Speaker 2: i'm just Are you serious? What do you mean screwed
- 6:31Speaker 2: you over? The food's bad. It stinks in there. They
- 6:35Speaker 2: got new management. It's gone so far downhill.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Oh, that's too bad. Okay, well, let's not.
- 6:40Speaker 2: By the way, you can buy a Golden Tee Deluxe $ 7, 000.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that's still more than I'd want. The pinball machine
- 6:48Speaker 1: is a little more realistic. Is that a brand new
- 6:50Speaker 1: pinball machine for $ 4, 000? I don't think so. I think
- 6:53Speaker 1: that was. Yeah, the Golden Tee is. I'm not spending $ 7, 000
- 6:56Speaker 1: to go jam my finger again.
- 6:58Speaker 2: No.
- 6:59Speaker 1: You're not supposed to jam your finger. I know you're not,
- 7:01Speaker 1: but I'm going. Inevitably, that's what would happen, so I'm
- 7:04Speaker 1: not doing that. So, anyway, I just can't do that.
- 7:08Speaker 1: By the way, congratulations. It is National Cheeseburger Day. Yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I know you're excited about that. All right. You want
- 7:18Speaker 1: to hear the dumbest thing in the world, okay? You
- 7:21Speaker 1: don't like cheeseburgers? I don't like cheeseburgers. What an idiot.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I know I am one of those few weird people
- 7:28Speaker 1: that when I go to McDonald's, I want a hamburger.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I just I just for some reason, I don't like
- 7:34Speaker 1: cheese on my hamburger. Well, can I? I mean, that's fine.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I'm OK with that. No, I'm not. That's so un-American
- 7:42Speaker 1: to say something like that, that you don't like cheese
- 7:46Speaker 1: on a hamburger. And that's Michael Bennett in a nutshell.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I mean, you get more of the natural flavor that way.
- 7:52Speaker 1: That's what I like. I don't like it all taken
- 7:54Speaker 1: away with the cheese. Now, every now and then I'll
- 7:57Speaker 1: get cheddar cheese on it. When you go to those
- 8:00Speaker 1: places that have the fancy hamburgers, I will get the
- 8:03Speaker 1: cheddar cheese with the bacon and the barbecue sauce. Those
- 8:07Speaker 1: are phenomenal. But if it's just a regular hamburger, no,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I don't do it.
- 8:11Speaker 2: Well, I teased on my show that there's only one
- 8:13Speaker 2: place to get a burger.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Yes. This is the part I'm looking forward to because
- 8:17Speaker 1: you know Louisville, Kentucky is the home of cheeseburger. And
- 8:21Speaker 1: my family, yeah, Kalen's. That's right, Kalen's. That's exactly right.
- 8:25Speaker 1: I've still never been to, which is unacceptable. You've got
- 8:27Speaker 1: to go. I'm taking you there. It'll be your treat,
- 8:30Speaker 1: and we'll have a lot of fun.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 8:32Speaker 1: It'll be my treat. I'm just kidding.
- 8:35Speaker 2: But if I'm getting a hamburger or a cheeseburger.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I'm going to give him a free plug here because
- 8:40Speaker 2: it's awesome. Culver's is the only place to go.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Is it really? Absolutely.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Go get, I'm telling you, Michael, go to one today,
- 8:49Speaker 2: get you a double bacon deluxe.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Oh, my. It is unbelievable. Really? It's my favorite meal.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I've never had a hamburger at Culver's, and I do
- 8:59Speaker 1: like Culver's. You're missing out. Really? It's awesome. I will
- 9:02Speaker 1: have to say of all the fast food chains, as
- 9:05Speaker 1: far as cheeseburgers, Or hamburgers. I have two that are
- 9:10Speaker 1: my favorite. Okay. And one wins over the other because
- 9:13Speaker 1: of one reason. All right. I like Wendy's. I think
- 9:18Speaker 1: their hamburgers are unbelievable. That's because they're fresh, never frozen.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Is that what it is? Very good. And that's where
- 9:24Speaker 1: the beef is. As well as, I like Rowley's.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Ooh.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I do. Don't ever eat it again, Michael. Sorry, I
- 9:35Speaker 1: love it. They're delicious. Why are you slamming rallies on
- 9:40Speaker 1: the radio today?
- 9:41Speaker 2: So, I don't know. Can they hit me with, like,
- 9:44Speaker 2: a seasoned assist here?
- 9:45Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 9:46Speaker 3: What?
- 9:46Speaker 2: Maybe I shouldn't say anything else.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Are you teasing? You're being serious. No, I mean, like,
- 9:54Speaker 2: can they come after me? No, they can't come after me.
- 9:56Speaker 1: No, no, no. It's your opinion. So, well, this one.
- 10:00Speaker 1: really is an opinion. Okay.
- 10:01Speaker 2: But when I was working in hotels, we would have
- 10:04Speaker 2: this guy come by once every two weeks or whatever.
- 10:08Speaker 2: He was our pest control guy.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:10Speaker 2: One day I worked up the courage to ask him.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I was like, what is the nastiest place that you've
- 10:16Speaker 2: ever been to?
- 10:17Speaker 1: No, please don't do this to me.
- 10:20Speaker 2: He looked at me dead serious, and he said, if
- 10:23Speaker 2: I were you, I would not eat at any rallies
- 10:26Speaker 2: in this area.
- 10:26Speaker 1: But, you know, how does they get grades? Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 2: By the city? The ABC? They're typically one of the
- 10:37Speaker 2: lowest grades.
- 10:38Speaker 1: All right, so when you're going to a restaurant, Do
- 10:43Speaker 1: you pay attention to the grades on the window before
- 10:46Speaker 1: you go in? Oh, every time. You do? Yeah. All right.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So what are the different grades by the restaurants? There's
- 10:52Speaker 1: an A, there's a B. There is a C. There
- 10:55Speaker 1: is a C. What is the lowest? F. It is F.
- 10:59Speaker 1: So is there a D and F? I think so.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Where's E? But okay. Is there E in school? No,
- 11:07Speaker 1: there isn't. I never understood that. In kindergarten, there is.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Excellent.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Oh, excellent. I like that. All right, so you have
- 11:14Speaker 1: gone to a restaurant, and have you walked away because
- 11:18Speaker 1: of their grade? Yes. Oh, you have? I have. What
- 11:21Speaker 1: was the grade? I see.
- 11:23Speaker 2: So if it was a B, would you go? I
- 11:27Speaker 2: would think long and hard about it. Probably not. Because
- 11:31Speaker 2: as somebody who's worked in restaurants... I know how hard
- 11:35Speaker 2: it is to fail. Where haven't you worked?
- 11:36Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 2: But I know how hard it is to fail one
- 11:39Speaker 2: of those or to even get a B or C
- 11:41Speaker 2: instead of an A.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Yes.
- 11:43Speaker 2: It's not very difficult to keep your restaurant clean and
- 11:46Speaker 2: get an A. So anytime I see a B or
- 11:48Speaker 2: a C, it gives me some pause.
- 11:50Speaker 1: It does. But I've definitely. It gives you a pause
- 11:53Speaker 1: or makes you leave. There's a big difference there. If
- 11:55Speaker 1: it's a C, I'm leaving a thousand percent. All right,
- 11:58Speaker 1: if it's a B, you might not go.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Depends on what their violations were. Because a lot of
- 12:02Speaker 2: times on those, it'll tell you the violations and when
- 12:06Speaker 2: the scheduled next visit is or whatever.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Right.
- 12:09Speaker 2: That they've got 30 days to fix it all or whatnot.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:12Speaker 2: So B's I'm a little bit more hesitant with. But
- 12:14Speaker 2: C's I'm walking through. Yeah, I'm not even here.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I can tell you every time my wife would not
- 12:19Speaker 1: go into a B restaurant. I mean, odds are I
- 12:23Speaker 1: wouldn't either. Yeah. So now I need to look at
- 12:25Speaker 1: rallies when I go there to see what kind of
- 12:27Speaker 1: health grade they have. You just bummed me out because
- 12:30Speaker 1: I was going to say rallies wins over Wendy's because
- 12:33Speaker 1: of their french fries. I think Wendy's has by far
- 12:36Speaker 1: the worst french fries. Of any fast food restaurant.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Rowley's used to have the best fries, but they, and
- 12:43Speaker 2: I don't know, I got them.
- 12:44Speaker 1: That spice they put on them is so good. What
- 12:46Speaker 1: did I get?
- 12:47Speaker 2: I got them, I guess, like three years ago or something,
- 12:49Speaker 2: and they tasted like fish.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Oh, they did?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Like they were fried in the exact same fryer as
- 12:53Speaker 2: the fish sandwich or something.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah. Disgusting. No, now I want to go to Rowley's
- 12:58Speaker 1: because I know where it is. It's at the next
- 12:59Speaker 1: exit right over here at Bar Sam Road. Please don't.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I'm going.
- 13:02Speaker 2: I'm taking a picture. I want to do radio with
- 13:05Speaker 2: you on Monday, and if you go to rallies today,
- 13:07Speaker 2: I'm just afraid that simply might not be able to happen.
- 13:11Speaker 1: We're going together. I'm not going. I will buy you one.
- 13:15Speaker 1: What's their large drink? Don't they have a Big Daddy
- 13:19Speaker 1: or something?
- 13:19Speaker 2: I'm not sure, but I'm opening the door, and I'm
- 13:21Speaker 2: tucking and rolling before we get there.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Big Guthrie? I don't know. It's something out there. Big Guthrie. Yeah, Guthrie.
- 13:27Speaker 1: You know Guthrie, don't you? That was the name of
- 13:29Speaker 1: my gym teacher. Oh, was it really?
- 13:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 1: All right, name me your favorite teacher you had growing up. Mr.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Olish.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Really? Mr. Olish.
- 13:37Speaker 2: He was also my cross-country coach. Just the best of
- 13:39Speaker 2: the best.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Doesn't get better. Mine was Mrs. Jefferson in third grade. Okay.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I loved her. Yeah. In fact, I went to visit her.
- 13:47Speaker 1: She passed away, I think, about 10 years ago, and
- 13:50Speaker 1: I went and visited her gravesite when I went back
- 13:52Speaker 1: to Virginia. So, yeah, I loved her.
- 13:54Speaker 2: I did enjoy– that was second grade.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Ms.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Hoffman was great. Yeah. God, she was so high school.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I can't think of one. I know a guy named
- 14:03Speaker 1: Tom May. Mr. May was my teacher. I really enjoyed him.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And anyway, I can tell you some of the ones
- 14:11Speaker 1: I didn't like, but I'm not going to say that.
- 14:13Speaker 1: So anyway, but all right. Tomorrow. UK's playing Texas A
- 14:19Speaker 1: & M. We're still at 16 and a half points.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I mean, 17. Is it now 17? Okay.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Oh, boy.
- 14:29Speaker 1: If they're betting like that, then you kind of feel
- 14:31Speaker 1: like it's going to be an ugly game. The big
- 14:34Speaker 1: question to me, Justin, is how first-time coach, third game,
- 14:42Speaker 1: will Stein going to get his team prepared after the
- 14:46Speaker 1: second half they had last weekend? I think that's going
- 14:48Speaker 1: to be interesting to see if he can get this
- 14:51Speaker 1: team to rally back to the excitement they were before.
- 14:53Speaker 1: I think they're still there. I think that the season
- 14:56Speaker 1: is still early. But it will be interesting to see
- 14:59Speaker 1: first away game, first big environment away game, and how
- 15:05Speaker 1: is he going to prepare this team? What do you think?
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's a great question. I mean, it's
- 15:11Speaker 2: probably one of the hardest things to do as a
- 15:14Speaker 2: college coach, I would imagine, just getting your team ready
- 15:16Speaker 2: for a big-time road atmosphere against a top-ten team in
- 15:20Speaker 2: the country. I don't know how you– try to motivate
- 15:26Speaker 2: these guys, and maybe you don't have to. Maybe playing
- 15:29Speaker 2: a top 10 team is motivating itself for the players,
- 15:32Speaker 2: but I just hope they realize that they are in
- 15:37Speaker 2: for a really, really difficult challenge, and you have to
- 15:40Speaker 2: almost go in and play mistake-free football if you want
- 15:43Speaker 2: to even have a prayer at one point.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah. I could not agree more. You can't have a
- 15:48Speaker 1: ridiculous penalties. I mean, you got to get wide receivers
- 15:53Speaker 1: open and I guess is it is part of it.
- 15:55Speaker 1: They got to get the road, the running game to
- 15:56Speaker 1: go in order to get the wide receivers open. Is
- 16:00Speaker 1: it the running game or is it just because last weekend,
- 16:03Speaker 1: the secondaries were elite players and now you're facing even
- 16:07Speaker 1: more elite players in the secondary. I mean, this is
- 16:10Speaker 1: going to be a big question. If, If the wide
- 16:14Speaker 1: receivers for UK cannot get open besides Darby, I worry
- 16:19Speaker 1: about the offense the rest of the entire season. Because
- 16:23Speaker 1: you can't rely on just one wide receiver.
- 16:25Speaker 2: But isn't that where you can turn your attention to
- 16:27Speaker 2: your tight ends who have been pretty stellar to start
- 16:30Speaker 2: this season?
- 16:31Speaker 3: I am.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I am concerned about that wide receiver room, which that
- 16:36Speaker 2: was not even a concern coming into this season, but
- 16:39Speaker 2: after seeing what we've seen the first two weeks, that
- 16:41Speaker 2: does worry me a little bit. I mean, you'd like
- 16:44Speaker 2: to have more depth at that position, more guys that
- 16:46Speaker 2: are proven and have played well to start the year,
- 16:50Speaker 2: but Quite frankly, it does feel like it's just Darby
- 16:53Speaker 2: and the tight ends right now.
- 16:54Speaker 1: I would feel a little better if this game was
- 16:57Speaker 1: happening at Commonwealth Stadium. Yeah, that's what I said on
- 16:59Speaker 1: my show this morning. Oh, it is really? Yeah. And
- 17:02Speaker 1: the fact that it's down at Texas Stadium. Now, last
- 17:04Speaker 1: time UK was there, it was a close game. And
- 17:07Speaker 1: it was a fun game. But, I mean, this is
- 17:09Speaker 1: a completely different team. I mean, not to say this
- 17:12Speaker 1: is not a knock at all. But, I mean, this
- 17:14Speaker 1: team is still learning about each other. Everything's new. Coaching staff,
- 17:19Speaker 1: the players, just everything. And that, to me, kind of
- 17:23Speaker 1: puts it a little more questionable as far as I'm concerned.
- 17:26Speaker 1: But does it have to be a miracle? I mean,
- 17:28Speaker 1: is that basically what we're looking at for this team
- 17:30Speaker 1: to win? That's how I feel about it. Oh, geez.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But, I mean, I'm wrong all the time.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, by goodness. You were definitely wrong. We're both
- 17:40Speaker 1: wrong all the time. Worth mentioning that I was not
- 17:42Speaker 1: wrong last week. No. I'm with you. I know you weren't. But,
- 17:46Speaker 1: all right, what do you think? Who has to step
- 17:49Speaker 1: up more, the offense or the defense? Defense. Oh, really?
- 17:52Speaker 1: Why so?
- 17:53Speaker 2: I mean, if your defense plays well and you're– because
- 17:56Speaker 2: that's going to quiet the crowd, right? If your defense
- 17:59Speaker 2: is keeping you in the game and keeping Texas A
- 18:01Speaker 2: & M off the board– They don't have anything to
- 18:04Speaker 2: cheer about.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Is that accurate? Yeah, it is. It is. Yeah, because
- 18:10Speaker 1: that crowd really gets into it. You know, they got
- 18:12Speaker 1: those funky cheerleaders out there or whatever. Yell leaders. Yell leaders,
- 18:15Speaker 1: whatever they are. Marcel Reed's quarterback. You know, we talked
- 18:19Speaker 1: about him earlier this week. He's a dual threat quarterback. He's,
- 18:22Speaker 1: you know, this is his last year. This is a
- 18:25Speaker 1: big year for them. They have hopes of making the
- 18:29Speaker 1: college football playoffs. Absolutely. And they most likely will. Yep.
- 18:32Speaker 1: And they should. They got a senior running back named
- 18:36Speaker 1: Ruben Owens, who's actually, this is one of the crazier stats.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Are you ready for this? Yeah. He has been at
- 18:42Speaker 1: Texas A & M all four years. He originally committed
- 18:45Speaker 1: to Louisville. Did he really? I didn't know that.
- 18:48Speaker 2: He's got a 502 tattoo.
- 18:51Speaker 3: No way.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Where is he from? And then went to Texas A
- 18:54Speaker 2: & M.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. See, that's one of those mistakes that
- 18:57Speaker 1: people make. I wonder if he regrets that. I don't
- 19:00Speaker 1: know what the area code is for a college station, Texas,
- 19:04Speaker 1: but do you think he could maybe change it around
- 19:06Speaker 1: a little bit? And instead of it being five Oh two,
- 19:09Speaker 1: can you make it an eight, nine, two or something
- 19:11Speaker 1: like that? Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I don't know what he's done with it since, but yeah.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Cause he originally committed to Louisville.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 2: And that's why he got it. And then he decommitted
- 19:19Speaker 2: and went to Texas A & M.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Well, you got the freshmen, uh, running back Carson Baker, uh,
- 19:26Speaker 1: This was a player that Kentucky showed a lot of
- 19:29Speaker 1: interest in when Stoops was still there. And he never
- 19:34Speaker 1: committed to Kentucky, but he did take an official visit
- 19:38Speaker 1: to Lexington for the Florida game last year. And then
- 19:42Speaker 1: committed to Texas A & M. And then they got
- 19:46Speaker 1: this running back, Jamarian Morrow. uh and uh he's already
- 19:53Speaker 1: receiving a lot of playing time i mean he went
- 19:56Speaker 1: uh last year 43 carries 182 yards and a touchdown
- 19:58Speaker 1: and uh But listen, they have a deep running back room.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And so I think UK will need to keep an
- 20:08Speaker 1: eye on him. You got the wide receiver, Isaiah Horton,
- 20:12Speaker 1: who's a senior. And he's a good one. You got
- 20:16Speaker 1: three really good wide receivers between Horton, a kid named
- 20:21Speaker 1: Terry Busey, who's a junior, and another. In relation to Gary?
- 20:25Speaker 1: That's a great question. And another one named Mario Craver.
- 20:29Speaker 1: You can say all you want. And make fun of
- 20:32Speaker 1: Gary Busey. I'm a big fan of Gary Busey. I thought, listen,
- 20:37Speaker 1: he is an iconic guy. I mean, what is the
- 20:40Speaker 1: thing that everybody shows you want to talk about sausage?
- 20:44Speaker 1: Excuse me? Don't you know that? Have you never seen that?
- 20:46Speaker 1: I want to talk about sausage. He's in an interview
- 20:48Speaker 1: or something. And all of a sudden he goes completely
- 20:51Speaker 1: squirrel like I just did. And he goes, I want
- 20:53Speaker 1: to talk about sausage. Have you never seen that meme before? Meme,
- 20:57Speaker 1: whatever it is. No. Oh, it's hilarious. Oh, yeah. You
- 20:59Speaker 1: got to look that up. Because I'll tell you, he
- 21:03Speaker 1: was great in The Firm with Tom. What's his Tom Cruise?
- 21:08Speaker 1: He was really good. He didn't have a big part,
- 21:10Speaker 1: but he was really good at it. Did you see
- 21:12Speaker 1: The Firm?
- 21:13Speaker 5: No.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And then what was the other one he was in
- 21:16Speaker 1: with Chris Farley? The Politician or something? Never seen that
- 21:21Speaker 1: one either. Really? God, it's amazing the amount of movies
- 21:24Speaker 1: you've never seen. It's a waste of time. No, it's not.
- 21:28Speaker 1: The firm was awesome. Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman. It had
- 21:32Speaker 1: all kinds. Wilford Brimley. Do you remember that guy? Isn't
- 21:37Speaker 1: he the. Diabetes. Diabetes guy.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Always.
- 21:41Speaker 1: All right. I know we've talked about this before, but
- 21:43Speaker 1: that's not the correct pronunciation for diabetes, is it? It's not.
- 21:47Speaker 4: No.
- 21:47Speaker 1: And he always said diabetes. But guess what? 15 years later,
- 21:52Speaker 1: I'm still remember him. Wilford Brimley talking about diabetes.
- 21:55Speaker 5: Mm hmm.
- 21:57Speaker 1: He was famously in the movie Cocoon that Ron Howard,
- 22:00Speaker 1: who was on the Andy Griffith show, he was Andy
- 22:04Speaker 1: Griffith's kid, and he became a director. Anyway, I know,
- 22:09Speaker 1: I've gone, wow, how do you like that? Wait, we
- 22:10Speaker 1: gotta go. I know I've gone John one long. You've
- 22:14Speaker 1: gone longer. I know. Sorry about that. All right, let's
- 22:17Speaker 1: take a break.
- 22:18Speaker 3: 502-384-1450.
- 22:18Speaker 1: You want to call in 502-414-1450. You want to text
- 22:22Speaker 1: in on the whiskey thief text line and I'll get
- 22:24Speaker 1: you your text as soon as we get back. But yeah,
- 22:26Speaker 1: sorry about that. We'll see you in a minute. This
- 22:28Speaker 1: is Jessica.
- 22:28Speaker 5: When you walk my way, hope I get you out.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Hope I get you out.
- 22:34Speaker 1: If you find a man that's worth it, damn it.
- 22:40Speaker 3: He's a fool, your justice, well, if he gives you
- 23:07Speaker 3: Small things, true care, truth brings. I'll take one lift,
- 23:15Speaker 3: you're right, best trip.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I kind of feel like today is your music kind
- 23:33Speaker 1: of day. Is that fair to say? Yeah, very, very much. Yeah, because,
- 23:38Speaker 1: you know, when I sent the song last night, you
- 23:40Speaker 1: sent me a long text. How much you love this
- 23:43Speaker 1: song that I picked out today, which I didn't know
- 23:45Speaker 1: you were a big Killers fan. I'm not a big
- 23:47Speaker 1: Killers fan. Oh, okay. But you're a big fan of
- 23:50Speaker 1: the song. Okay. Yeah. I like the Killers. But I
- 23:52Speaker 1: wouldn't say I'm a big fan. Really? Okay. I'd love
- 23:55Speaker 1: to see him in concert. I can tell you that.
- 23:58Speaker 1: But the other part I enjoy is when we're in
- 24:00Speaker 1: a conversation, you keep watching the clock and you still
- 24:02Speaker 1: take off running. It just makes me laugh. I wish
- 24:06Speaker 1: people could see how you react sometimes here at the station.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I do. Because it's all of a sudden, you know,
- 24:12Speaker 1: we got a little small window into the studio here.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I wish people could see. And then all of a sudden,
- 24:16Speaker 1: you just jet across it. It's like, I got to
- 24:19Speaker 1: get to the studio. Anyway, it makes me smile. I'm
- 24:23Speaker 1: too good at talking sometimes. Yeah. One texter said, 502-414-1450
- 24:26Speaker 1: on the Whiskey Thief text line. Fortune for a quarter.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I love quarters. Scoots, the place to find love is
- 24:35Speaker 1: the bowling alley in Cordon. Oh, no. Is that true?
- 24:40Speaker 1: That's not true. Why? That place is a dump. Don't
- 24:45Speaker 1: say something like that. I mean, it is.
- 24:49Speaker 2: There's no way to sugarcoat it.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Really?
- 24:52Speaker 2: It needs a serious renovation.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Oh, it does? It needs some help?
- 24:55Speaker 2: Well, and half the time I drive by, there's like
- 24:57Speaker 2: no cars in the parking lot.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I don't even.
- 24:59Speaker 2: I don't know what their hours are.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 25:02Speaker 1: Have you ever passed by businesses and it never really
- 25:06Speaker 1: advertises anything and you wonder what's going on in there? Yeah.
- 25:10Speaker 2: And there's several businesses like that, Gordon.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Really?
- 25:13Speaker 2: Not only the bowling alley, but the movie theater is
- 25:17Speaker 2: oddly empty more times than not. I can't figure out
- 25:21Speaker 2: when their hours are.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:22Speaker 1: It's just weird. I found it fascinating because, you know,
- 25:25Speaker 1: we were talking about the cockfighting yesterday down in Bowling Green.
- 25:29Speaker 1: That's what I envision with these places. They're doing something
- 25:33Speaker 1: there that's like cockfighting or gambling or something like that. Oh,
- 25:37Speaker 1: so you think something nefarious is going on. Oh, absolutely.
- 25:40Speaker 1: That's what I always think. I mean, to me, that's
- 25:43Speaker 1: what romanticizes it. You think, okay, it's got to be
- 25:46Speaker 1: a bad thing. And so I put a little drama
- 25:50Speaker 1: into it. It's got to be something out there that's illegal.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Because I had a conversation with Dale Romans a couple
- 25:57Speaker 1: of days ago. and he was telling me all kinds
- 26:01Speaker 1: of stuff with people here in Louisville. He goes, you
- 26:05Speaker 1: didn't know any of this kind of stuff, did you, Michael?
- 26:07Speaker 1: There's all kinds of stuff that happened in the South End.
- 26:10Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, my gosh. It's very entertaining to
- 26:13Speaker 1: talk to Dale because he'll tell you all kinds of stuff.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Love it. Anyway, I do too. I love conversations like that,
- 26:19Speaker 1: which I'm completely oblivious to. Of certain things that happen. Because,
- 26:24Speaker 1: you know, the whole gangster thing up in New York
- 26:27Speaker 1: City is where you typically, New York or Chicago. You
- 26:31Speaker 1: never think about Louisville, Kentucky having gangsters or people doing
- 26:35Speaker 1: stuff like that. Cornbread Mafia. Well, that's the other one, yes.
- 26:39Speaker 1: My good friends at Cornbread Him. So, one person texted in,
- 26:42Speaker 1: haven't been able to join the show in a couple
- 26:45Speaker 1: of weeks as I was training a new guy. He
- 26:48Speaker 1: called in sick today, which may mean he's not coming back. Whoa. Uh-oh,
- 26:54Speaker 1: that's not good. Anything big I missed while I was gone?
- 26:56Speaker 5: No.
- 26:58Speaker 1: No. Yeah. Nah. You really didn't miss anything, but we
- 27:01Speaker 1: missed you, I'll tell you that, because I missed my
- 27:04Speaker 1: random text. So, yeah, it's been a little while. So, yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: come back, please. Don't miss anymore.
- 27:10Speaker 2: By the way, Michelle texted me at 7.15 this morning.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Wow.
- 27:14Speaker 1: And she's back in Arizona. She has your phone number?
- 27:17Speaker 2: Meaning 4.15. No, on the text line.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Okay.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Meaning she texted in at 4.15 in the morning. You've
- 27:22Speaker 2: got to be kidding me.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Like, what are you doing? I just want to know, well,
- 27:28Speaker 1: she is listening to every UK radio show and podcast.
- 27:33Speaker 1: That's a true fan. Does her husband like UK? I
- 27:36Speaker 1: would have to assume, right? I don't know. I mean,
- 27:39Speaker 1: it is funny to see there are people out there,
- 27:41Speaker 1: which I very much appreciate. They listen to everything and
- 27:44Speaker 1: they don't miss a thing. It's like, that's really dedication
- 27:48Speaker 1: right there.
- 27:48Speaker 2: There are some entertaining ones out there.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Absolutely. One person texted in, been dieting for over a year,
- 27:53Speaker 1: but I eat a burger. It's a good one. My favorite,
- 27:57Speaker 1: the Ford's Garage and Sickies in Orlando. I've been to
- 28:01Speaker 1: the Ford's Garage in Orlando, and it wasn't bad. I
- 28:05Speaker 1: agree with you. I've never heard of Sickies, but that
- 28:08Speaker 1: does not sound like a great name for a restaurant.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Where's Ford's Garage? Ford's Garage is in Orlando. Oh. Yeah.
- 28:15Speaker 1: And there's another place down there called Sickies. Would you
- 28:18Speaker 1: go S-I-C-K-I-E-S? Would you go to a restaurant named Siki? Yeah, no,
- 28:22Speaker 1: that doesn't appeal to my stomach. Exactly. I just like, okay,
- 28:26Speaker 1: that doesn't sound like a really fresh restaurant that I
- 28:31Speaker 1: care to go eat at that I don't feel like
- 28:33Speaker 1: I'm not going to get sick. There's a Ford's in Lexington, too. Oh,
- 28:36Speaker 1: is there really? In Florence.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Huh.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Florence, y'all. Yeah. That's probably the most iconic water tower
- 28:45Speaker 1: in the entire country. No question. Yeah. Florence, y'all.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Deep in Kentucky and it's candy striped for Indiana.
- 28:51Speaker 1: It's glorious. Is it really?
- 28:54Speaker 5: No.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Oh, shut up. John here. All right. Give me a
- 28:59Speaker 1: cheeseburger from a local diner or a local chain restaurant
- 29:02Speaker 1: like GD Ritzy's or even Zesto's. Zesto's. There's a throwback.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I've never heard literally of either one of them. Really?
- 29:11Speaker 1: There's a Zesto's in Clarksville. Is it a fast food
- 29:14Speaker 1: place or what is Zesto's? It's more known for ice cream. Oh,
- 29:18Speaker 1: it is?
- 29:18Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Now, a lot of people really debate whether the Dizzy
- 29:23Speaker 1: Whiz is good. I have never been to Dizzy Whiz.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Have you?
- 29:28Speaker 3: No.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Downtown Louisville? Nope. I will say that the other place,
- 29:33Speaker 1: it's the train place. What's it called? Yeah, we've talked
- 29:36Speaker 1: about this one. Yes. They have some of the best hamburgers.
- 29:40Speaker 1: Ollie's Trolley. Yeah, there you go. Yeah, and I will
- 29:43Speaker 1: tell you right now, Ollie's Trolley, greatest French fries in
- 29:49Speaker 1: the world, bar none. I'm so hungry. Are you really? Yeah,
- 29:53Speaker 1: you should go to Ollie's Trolley with me. It's cash only, though. Well,
- 29:57Speaker 1: can't go. Yeah, why not? Nobody carries cash anymore, do they?
- 30:00Speaker 1: I never have cash, ever. And see, I don't have
- 30:02Speaker 1: a dollar in my pocket. So I, exactly. So it
- 30:07Speaker 1: makes it difficult to go to places that are cash only. Why?
- 30:10Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 30:11Speaker 2: I'd love to know. That's why I don't understand why
- 30:13Speaker 2: there's so many panhandlers. Like, Who's carrying cash that you're getting? Well,
- 30:17Speaker 2: you know, I can throw you a few pennies.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I saw a panhandler holding a sign that says anything helps.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I take Venmo. There you go. So there you go.
- 30:27Speaker 1: So he resolved the problem with he solved an issue
- 30:32Speaker 1: and now has an opportunity. That's great.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Yeah. So there you go. I've only given to a
- 30:37Speaker 2: panhandler one time.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Have you really?
- 30:39Speaker 2: And it's because his sign was ridiculously honest. I was
- 30:43Speaker 2: up in Indy going to a Pacers game. And his
- 30:45Speaker 2: sign said, why lie? It's for beer. And I was like,
- 30:49Speaker 2: you know what? I can respect the hell out of that.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I gave him a couple bucks.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Really? For beer? Yep.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Because the other ones are just like, oh, I need help.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Anything helps or whatever. And it's like, you never know
- 31:00Speaker 2: where it's going. But this man was upfront and honest.
- 31:02Speaker 2: It's going towards beer.
- 31:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Hell yeah, I can get behind that. Okay, well, I
- 31:06Speaker 1: don't know if I want to. You might be an alcoholic,
- 31:08Speaker 1: and you're serving that purpose right there. He's also living
- 31:11Speaker 1: on the street, so he deserves a beer. The only one,
- 31:15Speaker 1: I've done it before, and I've told the guy, I said,
- 31:17Speaker 1: go in that grocery store over there. You pick out
- 31:20Speaker 1: anything you want, and I'm buying. There you go. That's
- 31:22Speaker 1: a good way to do it. And I said, I'm
- 31:24Speaker 1: not giving you money, and I'm not buying you alcohol,
- 31:26Speaker 1: but I'll go buy you whatever you want over there.
- 31:28Speaker 1: What did he get? I didn't pay attention. I just
- 31:31Speaker 1: paid the bill and went on. Yeah. Good for you. Yeah,
- 31:34Speaker 1: but no, I don't want it good for you. I just,
- 31:36Speaker 1: I look at, then you have the people that are
- 31:39Speaker 1: out there. Have you seen the ones that are in
- 31:40Speaker 1: the parking lots of grocery stores or shopping centers and
- 31:43Speaker 1: they're supposedly playing the violin? Oh, that's a scam. And
- 31:47Speaker 1: it's a scam? Yeah. That's a big scam. It doesn't,
- 31:50Speaker 1: I haven't seen those in a while. I haven't either.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Will from South Central said, if I think of Gary
- 31:56Speaker 1: Busey movies, the first ones that come to mind are
- 32:00Speaker 1: Point Break and Silver Bullet. haven't seen either one of
- 32:06Speaker 1: those i know i'm not asking you because i guarantee
- 32:09Speaker 1: you a thousand percent i could put down the entire
- 32:13Speaker 1: amount of money i have in my uh account right
- 32:16Speaker 1: now and you would say i've seen neither one of
- 32:18Speaker 1: them that's true i'd win there you go.
- 32:20Speaker 2: I don't know point breaker uh silver bullet i don't
- 32:23Speaker 2: know what i've even seen gary bucey I can't remember
- 32:28Speaker 2: the name of it. Rookie of the Year.
- 32:29Speaker 1: I've seen him. Obviously, that one. Oh, that was a
- 32:32Speaker 1: good one. Yes.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Rookie of the Year is a really good one. He
- 32:35Speaker 2: was in Grown Ups, but I don't remember him from
- 32:37Speaker 2: Grown Ups. He was in Grown Ups?
- 32:40Speaker 1: I don't remember that either. I'm surprised you didn't see
- 32:42Speaker 1: the one that he was in with David Spade and
- 32:46Speaker 1: Chris Farley, where David Spade's older brother was running for office.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I don't know the name of it. I think it's
- 32:55Speaker 1: called The Politician or something like that. But it was
- 32:58Speaker 1: another movie between David Spade. Black Sheep. Black Sheep, that's it.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Black Sheep and the Family. Nope, never seen it. That
- 33:05Speaker 1: was a good one. And he was in that. I'm
- 33:07Speaker 1: really surprised you hadn't seen The Firm. That's a John
- 33:09Speaker 1: Grisham book that they made. One of the first ones,
- 33:12Speaker 1: and I think it was the most popular one, The Firm.
- 33:16Speaker 1: And he was in that for probably five, ten minutes,
- 33:19Speaker 1: if that. And he was really good. He played a
- 33:22Speaker 1: private investigator in Arkansas. One person says, texted in, Sickies Burgers.
- 33:29Speaker 1: That just, yeah. What is up with Sickies? I don't know.
- 33:33Speaker 1: I don't get it. Sickies. I might have to, during
- 33:36Speaker 1: the break, have to look that up and see what
- 33:37Speaker 1: that means. 48 Handley said, Buddy Holly. The Whiz Burger,
- 33:45Speaker 1: let me go back up front here. The Whiz Burger
- 33:47Speaker 1: has a unique sauce, a la the Big Mac, which
- 33:51Speaker 1: sets it apart from From a lot of burgers. Moist, too.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Okay, I'll try it. Moist is good when you're eating
- 33:57Speaker 2: a burger.
- 33:57Speaker 1: But why do you say Buddy Holly? That I'm not sure.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I'm not sure either. So, anyway. All right, then. Well,
- 34:04Speaker 1: let's go ahead and take another break. Keep sending your
- 34:07Speaker 1: texts in. 502-414-1450 if you want to text in on
- 34:11Speaker 1: the Whiskey Thief text line. I want to talk about
- 34:13Speaker 1: game day tomorrow. Oh, we're not going to keep talking burgers? Oh,
- 34:16Speaker 1: we'll talk about burgers all you want. I thought we
- 34:18Speaker 1: were doing just the burgers. Oh, is that what we're doing? Oh, okay,
- 34:21Speaker 1: I'm sorry, 48 Handler. He said Busey played him in
- 34:24Speaker 1: a movie. Well, you've got to explain yourself a little more,
- 34:27Speaker 1: and I appreciate that. Actually, I remember that movie, and
- 34:32Speaker 1: he played it pretty good. So that's just a sad
- 34:36Speaker 1: movie because you know what the result is going to be.
- 34:39Speaker 1: But anyway, all right, well, let's take a break. When
- 34:41Speaker 1: we come back, I'm going to talk about College Game
- 34:42Speaker 1: Day because I will have to say, I might have
- 34:45Speaker 1: to watch it for the first time in a long time.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I know. It's big news. Yeah, it's all because of
- 34:51Speaker 1: who the guest picker is. So we'll talk about that
- 34:54Speaker 1: as soon as we get back. Stay right there. More
- 34:56Speaker 1: Just the Cats coming right up.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Eight o'clock Monday night and I'm waiting to finally talk
- 35:31Speaker 3: to a girl a little cooler than me.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Her name is Nona, she's a rocker with.
- 35:34Speaker 3: A nose ring. She wears a two-way, but I'm not
- 35:36Speaker 3: quite sure what that means. And when she walks, all
- 35:39Speaker 3: the wind blows and the angels sing.
- 35:49Speaker 4: Okay, so you told me who this is.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Yep.
- 35:57Speaker 3: This is Bowling Pursuit. This is. And I was making
- 36:01Speaker 3: fun of their name the other day. They're actually really good,
- 36:05Speaker 3: aren't they? They're awesome. Are they really? They are.
- 36:19Speaker 1: And when do they play it louder for life? Or
- 36:22Speaker 1: louder than life? Great question. Okay, don't worry about it.
- 36:25Speaker 1: All right, so the texter sent me Sickie's Garage menu.
- 36:32Speaker 2: And?
- 36:32Speaker 1: Burgers. So it's called Sickie's Garage Burgers and Brews. Does
- 36:37Speaker 1: that sound appealing to you yet? Yeah, I'm in. It does? Okay.
- 36:42Speaker 1: They have a signature Wagyu. Is that Wagyu? How do
- 36:47Speaker 1: you say it? Wagyu.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Okay.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Wagyu.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Hamburger. But the only problem is it does not say
- 36:52Speaker 1: how much it is. That means it's a lot. That's
- 36:55Speaker 1: exactly what I thought. When you don't place the actual
- 37:01Speaker 1: price down, well, let me correct it. It didn't have
- 37:04Speaker 1: any pricing on the menu. Have you ever had Wagyu? No.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I never have either. No, I haven't. I haven't had it.
- 37:15Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm really interested. You know, they
- 37:18Speaker 1: charge so much more for it, and I don't see
- 37:20Speaker 1: the benefit of it.
- 37:21Speaker 2: What's the other big one that people get, the good beef?
- 37:25Speaker 1: Well, it is Wagyu, isn't it?
- 37:27Speaker 2: No, there's one that's not that big, but a filet mignon.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Oh, okay. You're talking about a cut of meat. There's
- 37:35Speaker 1: a difference between a cut of meat and Wagyu beef.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I've had a, yeah, no, different. Okay, all right. But
- 37:40Speaker 1: I've had.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Filet mignon once and I didn't really enjoy it.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Oh, you didn't?
- 37:44Speaker 2: That was probably a me issue because I thought since
- 37:47Speaker 2: I was getting filet mignon that I needed to have
- 37:49Speaker 2: it rare.
- 37:50Speaker 1: Yes. And yeah, it was just a little too rare. Oh,
- 37:53Speaker 1: it was really? Yeah. If they cook it right, most
- 37:57Speaker 1: people think it is a little too rare. But favorite
- 38:00Speaker 1: cut of meat? I mean, that was one of the
- 38:02Speaker 1: famous things, David Letterman, cuts of meat. What is your
- 38:07Speaker 1: favorite cut of meat? I know what mine is.
- 38:09Speaker 2: I'm going to get made fun of into oblivion for this,
- 38:11Speaker 2: and I already know this.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Don't tell me sirloin. I love sirloin. I knew you
- 38:15Speaker 1: were going to say that. I love sirloin. Really? I do.
- 38:19Speaker 1: That is like the worst. Oh, I know.
- 38:21Speaker 2: You like your meat dry, don't you? No, I get
- 38:24Speaker 2: it medium rare, and it's incredible.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Okay. See, I'm a ribeye guy. I love ribeye. And
- 38:29Speaker 1: every time I'll just get the ribeye.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Is there a bone in that?
- 38:33Speaker 1: You can get a ribeye with bone in bone in ribeye. Absolutely.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Are you thinking T-bone? I just don't want the bone. Really?
- 38:41Speaker 1: That's the best part. The meat next to the bone
- 38:43Speaker 1: is the best part because that's where the juice all
- 38:45Speaker 1: comes from in the flavor.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but I'm a sirloin guy. I know
- 38:49Speaker 2: it's very basic. I know people are going to roast
- 38:52Speaker 2: me for that, and I'm okay with it.
- 38:53Speaker 1: We went to a restaurant in St. Petersburg not too
- 38:56Speaker 1: long ago where you order the steak, and aside, you
- 38:59Speaker 1: can get butter marrow. Okay. Would you eat that? Yeah, sure.
- 39:04Speaker 1: So would I. Oh, my gosh, it's fantastic. By the way,
- 39:06Speaker 1: Bowling for Soup played last night. Oh, they did? Oh,
- 39:09Speaker 1: we missed them then. Missed. Not that I was going anywhere.
- 39:12Speaker 1: All right. One person texted in. It may not be
- 39:15Speaker 1: the best burger anyone will ever have, but Home Run
- 39:19Speaker 1: here in Louisville has never let me down. And to
- 39:21Speaker 1: be honest, I think of a place that does them better.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Culver's is a close second, but I was thinking more
- 39:29Speaker 1: mom and pop. non-major franchise options. Yeah, I like that.
- 39:33Speaker 1: That's a part. If anybody knows of a mom and
- 39:36Speaker 1: pop here in town, Kalen's, we've already mentioned them. Yes,
- 39:40Speaker 1: I'm right there with you. I might need to keep looking.
- 39:45Speaker 1: One thing I will never be interested in, though, is
- 39:48Speaker 1: buttered sausage. That's it. That's what he says. He says
- 39:51Speaker 1: buttered sausage. Get that out of my face. It's not
- 39:55Speaker 1: my jam. I like honey, and I kiss it on
- 39:57Speaker 1: the lips. Gary Busey right there. You like buttered sausage. Oh,
- 40:04Speaker 1: my gosh. You got to look it up. It's just
- 40:07Speaker 1: the weirdest little video of Gary Busey. If it involves
- 40:11Speaker 1: Gary Busey, I'm not looking at it. Oh, you got to.
- 40:13Speaker 1: That dude freaks me out. Why does he freak you out?
- 40:16Speaker 1: He's just scary looking. No, I don't think he's scary looking.
- 40:20Speaker 1: I just think he's, I hate to say odd, because
- 40:24Speaker 1: I don't find odd as a really compliment. I would
- 40:27Speaker 1: just say, instead of saying odd, I would say unique.
- 40:30Speaker 1: He's very unique. Just like, you know, you've heard me
- 40:35Speaker 1: say this for many years. My dad would always famously say,
- 40:40Speaker 1: they're just not my cup of tea. And that was
- 40:42Speaker 1: his nice way to say, I don't care for them.
- 40:44Speaker 1: All right. That's, I mean, add him to the list then.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Not my cup of tea. Very busy. God. Right up
- 40:49Speaker 1: there with Lane Kiff. Really? Not my cup of tea.
- 40:53Speaker 1: You dislike Lane Kiffin so much that he's not your
- 40:57Speaker 1: cup of tea. It's not my cup of tea. What
- 40:58Speaker 1: did he do to you?
- 41:00Speaker 2: That's the frustrating part is I can't figure it out.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Really? It's almost like stepbrothers. You just have a face
- 41:06Speaker 1: that's so punchable. Yeah, you got a punchable face. Yeah,
- 41:08Speaker 1: that's it. Anything I can do to change that?
- 41:10Speaker 3: Nope.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Nope. Sell more helicopters at the Catalina Wine Mixer. All right.
- 41:17Speaker 1: So it was announced earlier this week that College Game
- 41:20Speaker 1: Day is going to have what I think of as
- 41:23Speaker 1: a very special person. One of my favorite actors. I'm
- 41:27Speaker 1: looking forward to it. And we were talking about it
- 41:30Speaker 1: earlier this week because you did not realize this person
- 41:33Speaker 1: is a big Ole Miss fan. Do you remember talking
- 41:37Speaker 1: and having this conversation? Was it Morgan Freeman?
- 41:40Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Exactly. So Morgan Freeman is going to be in Oxford
- 41:43Speaker 1: as part of the guest picker for game day tomorrow.
- 41:46Speaker 1: I can't believe I remembered that. I don't know why
- 41:48Speaker 1: you can't believe it. I mean, we just live. My
- 41:51Speaker 1: memory sucks. Oh, it does. Okay. Well, I'm looking forward
- 41:55Speaker 1: to it. I'm actually going to tune in. I'll mute
- 41:57Speaker 1: every time Pat McAfee talks, but I will listen to
- 41:59Speaker 1: Morgan Freeman. And I'm thinking, okay, I want, I'm going
- 42:04Speaker 1: to go through a list. All right, and I want
- 42:07Speaker 1: to see how many you have seen, okay? I'm going
- 42:11Speaker 1: through an entire list of my favorite Morgan Freeman movies. Okay.
- 42:15Speaker 1: All right? Shawshank Redemption. Oh, yeah, that's the best movie
- 42:19Speaker 1: of all time. Perfect. We're one for one. The Bucket List. Nope.
- 42:23Speaker 1: With Jack Nicholson? You've never seen that? Never seen it.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Awesome movie. There's too many that I've said you need
- 42:30Speaker 1: to go, and you're never going to see any of them.
- 42:32Speaker 1: You're right. But, yeah, The Bucket List is a phenomenal movie.
- 42:35Speaker 1: Lean on me. Nope.
- 42:38Speaker 3: Yep.
- 42:38Speaker 1: We're all right. So we're now two for one.
- 42:41Speaker 2: One for three.
- 42:42Speaker 1: One for three. Thank you. Unforgiven. Another Gene Hackman movie.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Clint Eastwood. You've never seen Unforgiven. Never. And you realize
- 42:53Speaker 1: how many awards Unforgiven. It's a Western. That's why I've
- 42:56Speaker 1: never seen it. But I'm not big on Westerns either.
- 42:59Speaker 1: But I'll have to admit, Unforgiven was an unbelievable, not
- 43:03Speaker 1: just a Western, but an unbelievable movie. All right. Carry on.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Never seen it. Man. All right. Former UK alumni grad
- 43:12Speaker 1: was in this movie, Ashley Judd, along with Morgan Freeman,
- 43:16Speaker 1: called Kiss the Girls. Nope.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Amazing.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Amazing. Red. Please tell me you've seen Red with Bruce
- 43:23Speaker 1: Willis and John Malkovich. It's an action movie? Yes.
- 43:28Speaker 2: I'm not an action movie guy. That's my problem.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Exactly. You're not a Western. You're not an action. I mean,
- 43:34Speaker 1: my goodness.
- 43:35Speaker 2: If I'm watching a movie, I want to laugh.
- 43:36Speaker 1: You want to, what do they call the funny com rom?
- 43:41Speaker 1: That's what you like, I bet. Rom-com. Rom, whatever it is. Rom-com.
- 43:46Speaker 1: That's what you want. All right. You like sports movies, right?
- 43:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Did you see Invictus with Matt Damon? I didn't.
- 43:53Speaker 2: I do want to see that one. That's one I
- 43:56Speaker 2: may go watch.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm amazed. I shouldn't be, but
- 44:04Speaker 1: I completely am. You got any more? Oh, yeah, I
- 44:06Speaker 1: got more. All right, here's the last one I'll give
- 44:10Speaker 1: you because there's too many good movies he's been in.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Glory with Matthew Broderick and Denzel Washington. Nope. You have
- 44:20Speaker 1: literally seen only one movie that Morgan Freeman has been in.
- 44:25Speaker 1: That's not true.
- 44:26Speaker 2: I've only seen one movie that I've been in that
- 44:29Speaker 2: you mentioned.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Okay.
- 44:30Speaker 2: I've seen Ted too. I've seen last Vegas. I've seen going.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Oh, you saw last Vegas. That's another good one. Bruce
- 44:37Speaker 1: almighty and Evan almighty. Okay.
- 44:38Speaker 3: Good.
- 44:39Speaker 1: He plays God. Okay.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Now you see me. You ever seen, now you see me.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I don't know if I've ever even heard of that one.
- 44:45Speaker 1: He's great.
- 44:46Speaker 2: It's a movie about magic shows.
- 44:48Speaker 1: It's good. Oh, okay. They're like con men magicians. Yeah, yeah. Okay, good.
- 44:51Speaker 1: All right, so you have seen a few more. I
- 44:53Speaker 1: love Morgan Freeman. But I think those are the big
- 44:56Speaker 1: ones that I mentioned. Now, granted, I think Las Vegas
- 44:59Speaker 1: was really good. That was with Robert De Niro, Kevin Kline,
- 45:06Speaker 1: and who was the other guy that was in the
- 45:07Speaker 1: movie with them? Oh, Michael Douglas.
- 45:11Speaker 4: Yes.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Was in Las Vegas.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Huh?
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a good one. I liked that. And
- 45:16Speaker 1: Ted Danson's wife was in the movie as the love
- 45:20Speaker 1: romantic lady, which I always thought she was, she's the
- 45:24Speaker 1: same lady that was in Step Brothers as the mom,
- 45:26Speaker 1: Will Ferrell's mom. That's Ted Danson's, you don't even know
- 45:29Speaker 1: who Ted Danson is. I know who Ted Danson is. Okay,
- 45:31Speaker 1: thank you. So anyway, but yeah, Glory was the last one.
- 45:34Speaker 1: I thought maybe you would have seen that, but then again, no,
- 45:37Speaker 1: it's a war movie. Do you even know what Glory is? Nope.
- 45:40Speaker 1: That was the Civil War based movie. with Matthew Brodick
- 45:44Speaker 1: and Denzel Washington. They won all kinds of awards for
- 45:46Speaker 1: that too. So anyway, all right, we got to take
- 45:48Speaker 1: a break. Hour two coming right up. We'll get back
- 45:50Speaker 1: to your text messages as soon as we get back.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Stay right there. This is Jessica. Welcome to just the
- 46:18Speaker 1: cats with Michael Bennett.
- 46:24Speaker 2: All right.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Hour number two on this Friday. Did you watch the
- 46:27Speaker 1: football game last night between the lions and the Buffalo bills?
- 46:31Speaker 1: I did. Okay. Can we talk about, I'm not going
- 46:36Speaker 1: to make fun of them, but they are getting a
- 46:38Speaker 1: little crazy. The offensive tackle, Larry born for the lions.
- 46:44Speaker 1: He had one of those concussion pad helmets last night
- 46:49Speaker 1: on the game, and it just looked like a caricature
- 46:52Speaker 1: of our cartoon character.
- 46:54Speaker 2: I mean, I'm never going to feel that way.
- 46:58Speaker 1: Really? About those helmets because of the safety they provide.
- 47:02Speaker 1: I understand that. I get it.
- 47:04Speaker 2: They look a little goofy. They look a little.
- 47:06Speaker 1: On the ridiculous. His was gigantic. I mean, gigantic. He
- 47:10Speaker 1: probably has a big melon. Oh, is that what it is? Okay. Well,
- 47:13Speaker 1: it didn't match the rest of his body. Now, I
- 47:15Speaker 1: did think it was cool that the Buffalo Bills, the ownership,
- 47:23Speaker 1: they left replica keys to the stadium last night for
- 47:29Speaker 1: each fan that attended the game. That's fun. Because they're
- 47:32Speaker 1: saying that you own this stadium as much as anybody.
- 47:36Speaker 1: And then I think the funny part is people have
- 47:40Speaker 1: already put the keys up for sale.
- 47:43Speaker 2: For?
- 47:43Speaker 1: $ 300 to $ 400. Can you believe that? People cared about
- 47:53Speaker 1: it so much they've already got them up for sale.
- 47:55Speaker 1: One person said, cool, thanks for the taxes. Here's a
- 47:57Speaker 1: key for nothing.
- 47:59Speaker 1: They are cool. They are cool.
- 48:04Speaker 1: I thought that was really funny. But I was like, man,
- 48:08Speaker 1: some people are like, okay, I see an opportunity here.
- 48:12Speaker 1: I'm going to sell mine. And they just go immediately
- 48:15Speaker 1: and start selling them, which it was a nice gesture. Listen,
- 48:18Speaker 1: the ownership didn't have to do that. But listen, you
- 48:22Speaker 1: have a professional team. Guess what? It's going to cost
- 48:25Speaker 1: you money because every 20 years, these teams want a
- 48:28Speaker 1: new stadium, it seems like. I mean, you got– I
- 48:32Speaker 1: don't know.
- 48:32Speaker 2: It does feel kind of cheap when you've got, but
- 48:35Speaker 2: remember the Raiders with their season ticket holders? They sent
- 48:38Speaker 2: them that box.
- 48:38Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. That was really nice. Poker chips and stuff
- 48:41Speaker 1: in it. Yes.
- 48:42Speaker 2: That was awesome. I feel like this seems a little cheap.
- 48:45Speaker 1: The Bills. It's the gesture that meant something. Yeah, it's
- 48:49Speaker 1: the thought. But, yeah, I'm right there with you. I
- 48:51Speaker 1: forgot about the Raiders. They sent that really nice briefcase
- 48:55Speaker 1: or whatever it was. Had the poker chips. Had all
- 48:58Speaker 1: kinds of stuff in there. And the Bills, poor Bills,
- 49:01Speaker 1: just get a. Fake key that goes to nothing. Yeah. Anyway. Okay.
- 49:06Speaker 1: I thought that was really funny. I thought this was
- 49:10Speaker 1: pretty cool as well. Last night, if you weren't at
- 49:13Speaker 1: Churchill Downs, you might have seen, which I did. I
- 49:17Speaker 1: didn't realize who they were. So I had a buddy.
- 49:19Speaker 1: We were talking about my buddy last night or yesterday
- 49:24Speaker 1: morning who was driving his horses to Keeneland to sell
- 49:27Speaker 1: for the Keeneland sale. Well, he's actually had a horse.
- 49:30Speaker 1: in their maiden race, her very first race last night,
- 49:34Speaker 1: that he raised. He had the horse. It's by Modernist.
- 49:40Speaker 1: So the horse he owns, I forget who it's out of,
- 49:44Speaker 1: who the mom is, but the dad is a Modernist.
- 49:47Speaker 1: He actually took his horse to get it mated and
- 49:50Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff. And he had the foal.
- 49:53Speaker 1: He has raised the foal, kept the foal, and the
- 49:55Speaker 1: foal is now racing and is named Loaded for Bear.
- 49:59Speaker 1: And she won her first race last night. Loaded for Bear?
- 50:03Speaker 1: Loaded for Bear is the name of it, yes. And
- 50:07Speaker 1: all of a sudden, Mike's like, who are all these
- 50:08Speaker 1: people yelling, come on, Bear, go Bear? Well, here's why.
- 50:16Speaker 1: In the last race last night, a horse named Act
- 50:22Speaker 1: of Parliament is owned by Chicago Cubs third baseman Alex Bregman.
- 50:28Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Well, they were at the Churchill Downs last night. All
- 50:32Speaker 1: of them? The entire Cubs team was at Churchill Downs
- 50:36Speaker 1: last night. They didn't have a game yesterday, and lo
- 50:38Speaker 1: and behold, they're playing in Cincinnati this afternoon. That's fun.
- 50:42Speaker 1: So they all decided to go watch the race, act
- 50:45Speaker 1: for parliament, won the race, and they hoisted the jockey
- 50:49Speaker 1: Alex Concepcion up above everybody else and was pushing him
- 50:56Speaker 1: up and down in celebration of the win. And I
- 50:59Speaker 1: thought that was awesome. The Chicago Cubs were at Churchill
- 51:04Speaker 1: Downs last night. And here's the funny part. So my
- 51:08Speaker 1: wife and I were there and I'm seeing this guy upstairs.
- 51:13Speaker 1: There were like a few of them dressed in full
- 51:16Speaker 1: out jockey uniforms. And I'm like, what is that dude doing? Well,
- 51:21Speaker 1: lo and behold, there were a few of the Cubs
- 51:23Speaker 1: that dressed out in jockey uniforms. And I saw him.
- 51:28Speaker 1: I thought, this is wild. But anyway, active parliaments trained
- 51:32Speaker 1: by Will Walden. And congratulations to Alex Bregman. That is
- 51:37Speaker 1: so cool that the Cubs. I have totally geeked out
- 51:41Speaker 1: and wish I knew this last night. Because I would
- 51:43Speaker 1: have totally gone up to them. And talk to him.
- 51:46Speaker 1: I'm watching the video now. Some of them in their
- 51:48Speaker 1: jockey uniforms. Isn't that hilarious? The fact that they would
- 51:51Speaker 1: go full blown. We're going to Churchill Downs. Guess what?
- 51:54Speaker 1: I'm going to buy a jockey costume. One of them's
- 51:57Speaker 1: even wearing a horse suit. Isn't that fun? And I'm
- 52:00Speaker 1: not kidding. They were 10 feet away from me. I
- 52:03Speaker 1: just kept looking at him. I was like, is he okay?
- 52:05Speaker 3: Wait.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Well, you know they made some money. It paid $ 8. 68
- 52:08Speaker 2: on a $ 2 bet.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Oh, did it really?
- 52:10Speaker 2: So I'm sure they had a couple grand in wins
- 52:13Speaker 2: last night.
- 52:14Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. They won some money with that. So congratulations
- 52:17Speaker 1: to them. That's pretty cool. But I did. I enjoyed that.
- 52:20Speaker 1: I enjoyed hearing about that. And when I saw it
- 52:23Speaker 1: this morning, I'm like, you have got to be kidding me.
- 52:26Speaker 1: But anyway, that's a lot of fun. All right, second
- 52:30Speaker 1: with baseball. I don't know if you've seen this or not.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Actor Mark Wahlberg. Are you ready for this? He is
- 52:38Speaker 1: going to be portraying Pete Rose in an upcoming biopic.
- 52:43Speaker 1: And I thought that's it's going to be about Pete Rose.
- 52:48Speaker 1: I thought that was pretty cool. So he's not actually
- 52:51Speaker 1: joining the Reds. No, he's not joining the Reds. He's
- 52:53Speaker 1: just fictitiously joining the Reds as Pete Rose. Can he
- 52:56Speaker 1: pull it off? You know, you got it. You got
- 52:59Speaker 1: to do the famous bowl haircut, don't you? Yeah. I mean,
- 53:04Speaker 1: there's no other haircut that I see Pete Rose in
- 53:07Speaker 1: other than that one.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, he should do a great job with it.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Mark Wahlberg's awesome.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Yes. Mark Wahlberg is really a good actor. I didn't
- 53:16Speaker 1: like him when he first came out. I guess it
- 53:18Speaker 1: was just because the whole Marky Mark thing. What was it?
- 53:23Speaker 1: Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. Is that what it was? Yeah.
- 53:26Speaker 1: And I thought that was kind of goofy. But then
- 53:28Speaker 1: when he started doing some really good roles... It's like, OK,
- 53:32Speaker 1: he's he's really good. I've enjoyed a lot of his movies.
- 53:35Speaker 1: But do you think that they'll readily admit his gambling
- 53:41Speaker 1: issues and betting on his own team and baseball and
- 53:44Speaker 1: that kind of stuff? I do.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm reading about it right now. It says it's
- 53:49Speaker 2: going to focus on the last part of his career
- 53:51Speaker 2: as a player and manager. And his pursuit of Ty
- 53:54Speaker 2: Cobb's hit record, Rose's life after baseball.
- 53:57Speaker 1: So, yeah, it'll definitely dive into all that. Yeah. Do
- 54:01Speaker 1: you think there's going to come a day when they
- 54:02Speaker 1: finally just allow Pete Rose to be in the Hall
- 54:06Speaker 1: of Fame? Yes. Because he deserves it, doesn't he? He does.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Even though he gambled on teams. He gambled on his
- 54:11Speaker 1: own team. Right. I don't see an issue with that.
- 54:14Speaker 1: You don't see an issue with him gambling on his
- 54:16Speaker 1: own team? No.
- 54:17Speaker 3: Why?
- 54:18Speaker 2: Because he wasn't betting on them to lose and then
- 54:20Speaker 2: throwing the game away. He was betting on them to win.
- 54:23Speaker 1: You have to have a baseline somewhere because you don't
- 54:26Speaker 1: know when they're going to go over that line and
- 54:28Speaker 1: then bet against them because he knows inside of him
- 54:34Speaker 1: that none of the other gamblers would know. I mean,
- 54:37Speaker 1: you've got to draw the line somewhere. I do have
- 54:39Speaker 1: a problem. Even though he's betting for his own team
- 54:42Speaker 1: to win, you just can't do that. Maybe I'm wrong,
- 54:46Speaker 1: but I just kind of feel like you've got to
- 54:47Speaker 1: draw the line somewhere because you just never know when
- 54:50Speaker 1: he's going the other way. I mean, yeah, I guess.
- 54:54Speaker 1: I guess. But I've just never had an issue with him.
- 54:57Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 54:58Speaker 2: You don't have to agree with me on that. And
- 54:59Speaker 2: maybe that's because he played for my team and I
- 55:01Speaker 2: want to try to defend him.
- 55:02Speaker 1: See, I'm the same way. I love the Cincinnati Reds.
- 55:07Speaker 1: I mean, I still remember Sparky and that big red machine.
- 55:13Speaker 1: I mean, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, George Foster. Who was
- 55:20Speaker 1: the catcher? Shoot, I can't think of the name. Johnny Bench.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Johnny Bench. Thank you. I mean, they were the greatest
- 55:29Speaker 1: baseball team that I always loved was the Big Red Machine.
- 55:34Speaker 1: And they were fun to watch. Sparky Anderson was the
- 55:37Speaker 1: greatest coach. And when he left Cincinnati to go, where
- 55:40Speaker 1: did he go? Detroit? It was heartbreaking.
- 55:42Speaker 2: May not ever get a fun Reds baseball team ever again.
- 55:45Speaker 1: You think not? Well, they had the one where they
- 55:47Speaker 1: beat the A's in the World Series back in the 90s.
- 55:51Speaker 1: They had that little stint, but I'm with you. It
- 55:54Speaker 1: does not seem like the Reds are ever going to
- 55:56Speaker 1: win again. It sucks. It does. And my lowly Razor
- 56:01Speaker 1: just cranking it up in the American League. It's just
- 56:05Speaker 1: got to suck for Cincinnati Reds fans. Here you got
- 56:08Speaker 1: a team that doesn't spend any money in St. Pete
- 56:11Speaker 1: that's succeeding like there's no end. I think a lot
- 56:15Speaker 1: of the difference is, The Rays are just having fun.
- 56:18Speaker 1: That team, every time you turn around, it just looks
- 56:19Speaker 1: like they're having fun. And I think there's something to
- 56:23Speaker 1: be said for that.
- 56:24Speaker 2: I mean, the Reds are in the same boat. When
- 56:26Speaker 2: you watch them, they're out there having fun.
- 56:28Speaker 1: You think so?
- 56:29Speaker 2: For whatever reason, they can't win enough ballgames to get
- 56:32Speaker 2: to the playoffs.
- 56:33Speaker 1: I don't know what it is then. If that's the case,
- 56:35Speaker 1: I really don't know because I stopped watching the Reds.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I've now only watched the Rays.
- 56:40Speaker 2: I mean, it's a bunch of young guys. They're out
- 56:43Speaker 2: there having fun.
- 56:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I can't explain what's wrong with the Reds.
- 56:50Speaker 1: I'm with you. It just seems like it's never going
- 56:52Speaker 1: to get fixed, which is really sad. It makes me sad. So,
- 56:58Speaker 1: UK Volleyball, are you ready? Ready. Sunday's the day. I'm pumped.
- 57:03Speaker 1: 3 o'clock, ABC, UK versus UofL at Historic Memorial Coliseum.
- 57:08Speaker 2: Did I hear earlier this week that it is the
- 57:10Speaker 2: first time That in this game's history that UK has
- 57:15Speaker 2: hosted a top five matchup?
- 57:18Speaker 1: Is it really?
- 57:18Speaker 2: I think that's what I heard earlier this week.
- 57:20Speaker 1: Are you sure about that? With Wolf. Oh, okay, okay. Well,
- 57:24Speaker 1: that might be the case, yeah. Because if you don't know,
- 57:26Speaker 1: UofL is ranked number three and UK is ranked number four.
- 57:32Speaker 1: So this is a– I hope Memorial is packed with
- 57:37Speaker 1: nothing but UK fans. I hope they pack it up
- 57:40Speaker 1: and they turn people away and, sorry, folks, we got
- 57:43Speaker 1: standing room only and that's it and we're full. I
- 57:46Speaker 1: hope it's that way because I know Craig Skinner needs
- 57:49Speaker 1: and wants as many people as he can get there
- 57:51Speaker 1: for this game. But this is– You'll have some red
- 57:53Speaker 1: get in. Oh, I'm sure you will because UofL gets
- 57:56Speaker 1: a number of tickets for friends and family. But I
- 57:59Speaker 1: hope that's it. I hope that random fans don't drive
- 58:02Speaker 1: over from Louisville and that we're going to buy tickets.
- 58:04Speaker 1: I hope it's nothing but blue in there. So it's
- 58:07Speaker 1: going to be a fun game. I think the best part,
- 58:10Speaker 1: it's on national television on ABC, 3 o'clock on Sunday.
- 58:13Speaker 1: I think that's another big deal. And it'll be fun
- 58:15Speaker 1: to watch that. So I am looking forward to that game.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Can you send me a reminder text on Sunday? No,
- 58:22Speaker 1: I can't do that. Come on. Because you sent me
- 58:24Speaker 1: one the other day, and I completely forgot to remind
- 58:26Speaker 1: you about it.
- 58:27Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 58:27Speaker 1: Remember that? Yeah. What was it? By the way. Remind
- 58:31Speaker 1: me about Jeff A.D. tomorrow. Yeah. I owe him a
- 58:35Speaker 1: public apology tomorrow. Plus, their A.D. is A.J.
- 58:39Speaker 2: Moya, one of my favorite all-time Hoosiers. So, we were
- 58:43Speaker 2: talking earlier this week. How long is an appropriate time
- 58:46Speaker 2: to wait to resend an email? I had called him
- 58:50Speaker 2: out on Wednesday. I was like, not by name.
- 58:53Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. You did bring this up because certain
- 58:57Speaker 1: people at UK won't respond to me.
- 58:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 58:59Speaker 2: So basically I said that I was going to be
- 59:01Speaker 2: there for the game tonight. And if I didn't hear
- 59:04Speaker 2: by him from him by wednesday i'd reach back out
- 59:06Speaker 2: so i ended up reaching back out on wednesday and
- 59:09Speaker 2: it's like hey just confirming that you that you got
- 59:12Speaker 2: this to which he responds i'm not following brother the
- 59:17Speaker 2: game is at floyd central i read my schedule wrong
- 59:23Speaker 2: no thought the game was at jeff was getting upset
- 59:27Speaker 2: with him because he didn't acknowledge it and then lo
- 59:30Speaker 2: and behold the game's not even at jeff i felt
- 59:32Speaker 2: like the biggest moron so i had to apologize to
- 59:35Speaker 2: him in the email chain but yeah aj moya is
- 59:38Speaker 2: their athletic director and he's one of my favorite hoosiers
- 59:40Speaker 2: of all time really so you got to talk to
- 59:43Speaker 2: him i oh i've i've met him on and on
- 59:46Speaker 2: several occasions and gotten to talk to him he's he's
- 59:48Speaker 2: an awesome Yeah.
- 59:49Speaker 1: It's fun when you meet people that you've watched. Yeah.
- 59:54Speaker 1: Play certain sports or anything. And then you finally meet
- 59:57Speaker 1: them and they end up being a really nice person.
- 59:59Speaker 2: I mean, this man is like six foot two, maybe.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: And he blocked Carlos Boozer in the final four to
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: get us to the national championship when I was. 13
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: years old. So that moment is a core memory of
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: my life. And when I first got to meet him,
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: I told him all about that. I was like, dude,
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: I've looked up to you my whole life. You're amazing.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Did he just smile?
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: Oh, he like did one of the bro hugs, brought
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: me in for a hug.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: It was great. Yeah. Jack Givens still makes fun of
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: me with the first time I met him because I
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: just fanboyed him all over.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: And, uh, there's not many people I'm like that with,
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: but AJ was one.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Oh no. I was with probably Jack Givens and Kenny Walker. Yeah.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: So Kenny Walker was the same way. I mean, it's
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: just like, oh my gosh, man. Uh, what do you
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: think about former UofL guard? Peyton Sema, uh, is now
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: going to be an assistant coach for Rick Patino at St. John.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Makes sense. Sure. It makes sense. But if you're, if
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: you're a UofL fan, do you like this? See, I
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: kind of don't like it if I'm a UofL fan.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: You don't like it, but you can respect it. Oh,
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: absolutely you can respect it. I'm happy for him. If
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: there's a player out there, and there's a few out there, Gordon,
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: I can't think of his last name, was one of
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: my all-time favorite players at UofL. And Peyton Siva. For
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: some reason, I always liked Peyton Siva. And yes, he
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: plays for UofL, and I'm not a fan of UofL,
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: but I always liked Peyton Siva. He always had a
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: smile on his face. You talking about Lancaster Gordon? Lancaster Gordon.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Thank you very much. That's it. I always liked Lancaster Gordon.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: But Peyton Siva, I always liked, too. And I'm happy
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: for him. But, I mean, if I'm a UofL fan,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: I'm kind of disappointed that, why don't you come to UofL?
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Why didn't Pat Kelsey go there and get him? I think,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: as far as former players, recent ones, I think Peyton Siva,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I really believe he's going to be a really good
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: addition to any team out there. You know that, right? Yeah.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: He was with Louisville.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: And he left to go coach with his coach.
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: Who was he with before, though? But wasn't that a
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: graduate assistant deal? No, I don't know. Was he a
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: full-blown assistant?
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he had become a full-blown assistant.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: I didn't realize it, and that's my fault. Okay, I
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: thought he was just a graduate assistant. I think that's
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: what he started as, but I'm pretty sure he was in, like,
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: an actual assistant coaching role. With Kelsey?
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Oh, then I take it back then. So he's gone
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: back to be with his coach.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Good for him.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Okay well the guy he probably respects immensely and guy
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: he learned a lot from and a guy he can
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: continue to learn a lot.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Is that is that a bad look for pat kelsey
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: though that he uh you get one of your assistant
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: coaches going back to a former i.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: Mean pat kelsey addressed it at the time he was
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: basically said it it made sense i don't blame him
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: at all.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: Did he have his uh hairy carry glasses on when
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: he did this well you know you know he did
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: yeah exactly um Anyway, he went to UK. Michelle said
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: he went to UK. Yes, he's a fan, but he
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: does think I'm crazy. She's talking about her husband. So
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: he did go to UK and he does think she's crazy. Listen, Michelle,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I think you're a nice lady. I think you're crazy. Okay.
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: You listen to, so I see you commenting on everything
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: out there. You're listening. You're watching. It's like, my goodness.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Good for you. I'm glad you do that. One person
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: texted in, Sickies Burgers. Here we go. It's about Sickies again. Macaroni, cheese,
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: and bacon. Jalapeno cheese, bacon, and peanut butter. Okay. You
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: lost me there. Mashed potatoes, cheese curds, and gravy. Oh,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: my goodness. Burger with fried egg and bacon cheese on
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: a donut. Oh, yeah. This is not good.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Jalapeno cheese with peanut butter?
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Hold on. We got to go through this again. So
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: he says, Macaroni and cheese and bacon. I don't want
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: that on a hamburger. Jalapeno. Yeah, I could probably see
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: a jalapeno on a hamburger. But cheese, bacon, and peanut butter.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Could you do that with mashed potatoes? It sounds intriguing.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Mashed potatoes, cheese curds, and gravy. I mean,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: no wonder it's called Sickies. This is... It's going to
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: get you sick. I'm not even eating it. It's making
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: me sick. Now, the fried egg and bacon, that sounds good.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: But I don't know if I... I mean, you know,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: we always have that at the fair. On the donut,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: I've never tried it yet. People swear by it. But
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: do you think having a hamburger... Because it gives you
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: the sweet and savory. A donut as your bun in
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: a hamburger. No, I'm out. I'm out. Would you at
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: least take a bite? I would take a bite.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Yeah. But no.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Man, that just, the peanut butter does me in. I
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: love peanut butter. Same. But not that way. I like
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: it with chocolate, and I like it with peanut butter
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: and jelly. That's one of my all-time favorite sandwiches, by
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: the way. Peanut butter and jelly? I love it. Yeah.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: If the bread is fresh, I will always. In fact,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I ordered a couple times this summer. I was at
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: a restaurant, and I said, I'm like, I want a
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: peanut butter and jelly. My wife looked at me and says,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: that's what you want to eat at this restaurant? I'm like,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: I'm in the mood.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: I would never eat one at a restaurant.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: You wouldn't? Why? No. I did. Loved it.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: I mean, there's just so many more options. Now, if
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: it was like, if they could deep fry it, yeah,
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: maybe I'm in.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: Deep fry a peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Yeah, you
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: don't think that sounds good? No, it sounds gross.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: No?
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: A little chocolate drizzle on top? Oh, I think it
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: sounds gross. That might be pretty good. Okay, I might
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: take that back. One person said... Now that's between me
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: and him, Miss Daisy. Private Jessica Tandy as Miss Daisy
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: in Driving Miss Daisy when Morgan Freeman was in that movie.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: I forgot about Driving Miss Daisy.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: That was a great, you saw that, didn't you? I
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: saw that one. Yeah, Dan Aykroyd was in it. And,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: of course, Morgan Freeman. And I love Jessica Tandy. She's
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: one of those ladies you could not dislike.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: There's a girl graduated below me named Jessica Tandy.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Did people remind her of that?
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: I don't know if I– I definitely didn't. I don't
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: know if she got that a lot or not.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Patrick texted out, congratulations to KSR for winning the Kentucky
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Media Madness. That team included Stephen– what? Stephen Peake Jr.?
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: What a traitor. And Jack Pilgrim, they won against JMI. Wow,
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: then I like that. I mean, between– Is that mean?
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: I mean, between JMI and KSR, I got to tell you,
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: I'd probably be rooting for JMI. I mean, KSR. Yeah. JMI. Okay.
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Not my favorite. But I like a number. I like
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: everyone at KSR. Okay. I should just say that. I'm
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: going to continue to say it. I like everyone. Even
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: though they might not like me, I like them. They're
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: nice people. A lot of nice people over there, but
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: congratulations to them for winning that thing. There were people complaining,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: as far as fans, that the basketball team, let me
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: clarify this, that coaches were really trying to suck up
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: to media members since this is his third year at
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Mark Pope, and this is a pivotal year for Mark Pope.
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: Do they like that the media members are kind of
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: falling into possibly a trap, saying that, well, now they
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: won't be critical of Mark Pope and staff and the
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: play of the team this year because of media madness?
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: That's not going to happen. What do you think? No. Why?
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: There's still going to be, when criticism's deserved, that's still
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: going to be par for the course. I mean, what
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: this did is it opens the door for, the basketball
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: program and the media to have a relationship. Because the
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: first two years of Mark Pope, it didn't feel like
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: that relationship was there. And if it was, it didn't
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: have a good foundation. But do you want.
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: Coaches and media to have a relationship? Don't you want
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: it to be unbiased criticism? Absolutely not. Because both sides.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: can benefit from having a relationship with one another. Like
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: you're obviously going to get access to information. The media
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: may have information that could help the basketball team. Basketball
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: team obviously would have information that makes the media's job easier. No,
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: I think there needs to be a relationship there, and
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: there doesn't have to be any sort of biasness because
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: of it.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: But part of me thinks, all right, so you and
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: I are good friends. Fair to say?
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: Sure.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Okay. Would you ever criticize me knowing that we're good friends? Yeah.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: You would be completely... open book and not hold back
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: on anything if I'm doing something right or wrong.
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: If you deserved it. Yeah. Really would. Absolutely. I think
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: there's a number of people out there that would differ
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: with you and they hold back and don't say anything
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: to their good friends or their family. And I think, listen,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: I'm playing devil's advocate. I agree with you. But I'm
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: just trying to play devil's advocate because of the fact that, yeah,
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I can see part of this from certain fan bases
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: that say, you know what, there are certain fans out
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: there of UK that, well, I don't know if this
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: is a good look because I want the media to
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: be open and comfortable to criticize. I'm just not sure
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: they will. I don't think that's going anywhere. Let's put
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: it into perspective. All right.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Let's say game one of the year. I don't even
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: know who it is. Well, let's say it's a somewhat
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: big time opponent. Cats lose by 15 and just look,
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: offense looks anemic throughout the entirety of the game. You
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: really think people, media members are going to come on
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: the radio or their podcast or whatever the following Monday
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: and be like, well, it was a great performance. You know,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: they almost got it done. And I've got to say
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: all this because I was invited to Media Madness. No,
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: they're going to come on on Monday and rip Pope's ass.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I just I because, you know,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: the people at JMI and the people that actually get
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: paid by UK and JMI, they they don't criticize anything.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: I've always felt like they don't say much of anything,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: but I don't know. I just thought with with a
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: number of the fans out there criticizing this whole thing.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: Maybe it's jealousy that they don't get to experience something
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: like this. Maybe it's not. I just thought I'd ask you. So, anyway,
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: I don't think so either. I think the guys, the
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: good people over there with all the websites and you
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: got KSR, A Sea of Blue. Oh, goodness. I know
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: there's a lot more out there. Rup to No Good.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: Rup to No Good is another one. That will probably
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: be completely... unbiased and honest i mean we at the
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: end of the day if you're a media member you've
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: still got a job to do and just because you
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: got invited to play in this yeah it was awesome
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: i'm sure they enjoyed it yes but that that's not.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Gonna turn you off from wanting to talk bad about
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: the team if it's.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Deserved we gotta take a break 502-414-1450 got a little
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: uh quiet this hour so uh text me in uh
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: and uh we'll be right back this is just We'll.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: Be right back.
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: We'll be right back.
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: Is there room for one more song? One more song.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: If you can't hold on. If you can't hold on.
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: Hold on.
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: I wanna stand up, I wanna let go You know,
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: you know, know, you don't, you don't.
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: UK announced yesterday that they are in the final stages
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: of the campus entertainment district as I'm being entertained by
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: that song right there. I'll tell you right now. I
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: almost had to interrupt you. Let go. No, I don't
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: want to. Stop it. I want to listen to that song.
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: And you got to the best part. And it's like, okay,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: now I got to talk. I know I got to
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: talk because I know you're freaking out over there. But
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: all right. What do you think about this entertainment district?
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: This tends to be the trend right now with campuses.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: You know, the University of Tennessee unveiled theirs this week,
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: which is going to be next door to Nayland Stadium.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Here's the thing about Tennessee's entertainment district that I think
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: will work out better than no offense to Kentucky. And
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: I do worry about Kentucky's. First of all, Nalen Stadium is,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: if you haven't been down to Knoxville before, Knoxville's a
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: cool town. And it's along the river there. Is it
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: the Cumberland River that goes down to Knoxville? I don't
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: remember what it is. But all that entertainment district is
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: going to be right next door to the Neyland Stadium
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: along the river. So they got kind of a, and
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: it's all right there next to downtown. Tennessee River. Is
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: it Tennessee River? Okay, thank you. I look at that
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: and I say, okay, that's a bit of a destination
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: place where people will want to go down there. And
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: I see something like that thriving. With Kentucky's, it's going
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: to be what was formerly a parking lot in a college.
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: And you're going to have to want to go there.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: And it's just, to me, it's going to be a
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: little more difficult to sell 365 days a year. Now, granted, 12, well, what,
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: six or seven days of those? Six, seven. Oh, stop it.
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: Thanks a lot. But it will be jam-packed with people.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: And it will succeed the day before, the day of
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: a game, all that kind of stuff.
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: They said it's going to include a hotel, conference center,
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: residential housing. Can you imagine living at this place? It'd
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: be awesome. You think so? Yeah. Right by the stadium?
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: Hell yeah. I bet you there will be people that
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: will rent out apartments the entire year just for tailgating purposes.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Probably so.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: They're going to have retail, a food hall, whatever. What's
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: a food hall? I mean, I think that's pretty self-explanatory.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: It is? Is that like a food court? I'm sure. Okay.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: And all right, here's the other thing. I don't know
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: what it is. It says it's going to include an
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: innovation center. What the heck is an innovation center?
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: So you can get your creative on. You know, if
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: you have enough to drink.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: Get your creative on.
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you have enough drinks. Those juices start flowing. You
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: can get creative.
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Let the creative juices start flowing. Thank you, Vince Vaughn.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Student housing is going to be there. See, I don't
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: know how the whole residential housing and then you got
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: student housing all in the same area is going to work.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: It's going to have an amphitheater and an outdoor event
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: space and a multi-use, of course, basketball training facility. It's
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: just literally next door to the football stadium. They're going
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: to put a basketball training facility there at it. So
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: we're trying to separate ourselves as just a basketball school,
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: and this is what you're putting there. But what's going
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: to happen, Justin, when they're having losing seasons? I mean,
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: I'm hoping that the draw will still be– like it's
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: still going to be cool enough to draw people down there. Yeah.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: And if you're going to the game, you might as
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: well check it out while you're in the area.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, do you think– February, March, people are still
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: going to think, hey, let's go over to the UK
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Entertainment Center and go have dinner or something like that.
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: That's the part. Now, in Knoxville, it's going to be
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: a pretty area because you still got the river there.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: It's close to downtown. I don't know how well this
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: will or will not. Granted, I'm not trying to say
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: this is doomed. Not at all. I think it's smart
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: of UK. That's what I'm sitting over here thinking. Why
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: don't you just let it play out? I'm going to,
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: but I'm just, I just, again, I like playing devil's advocate.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I just, I, because this is a lot of money
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: to spend. I love the fact that UK is doing
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: this because you got to keep up with the times.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: How much did you say it was? I didn't say
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: how much it was going to be. Is that coming?
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: It's going to be, weren't they going to spend like
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: 20 to 24 million? I don't remember. It was a
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: lot of money they were going to be spending. That
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: doesn't feel like that much. Really?
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: I mean, compared to other big projects and buildings and stuff.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Seems fairly cheap. Does it really? Okay. Well, then
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: there you go. I hope it does well. I hope
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: it succeeds. Again, I get back to the point. I
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: love that UK is trying to keep up with everybody else. Because,
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: you know, every time you turn around, Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Florida,
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: they're all coming out with new locker rooms. They're coming
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: out with entertainment centers. They're coming out with this, that.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: It's like, how do you keep up with it? Because,
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: you know, it's all about the recruiting. And everybody wants
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: a shiny new toy. And, and UK is trying to
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: keep up with all that kind of stuff. It just,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: I don't know how all these schools can sustain all
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: this spending, but evidently they can, especially like in Alabama,
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: but evidently they have some money down there in Alabama.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: I can see Florida. There's a lot of money in
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: the state of Florida, Texas, absolutely Oklahoma for that fact, Georgia,
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: but I don't see the Alabamas. But I guess I'm
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: wrong about that. In Kentucky, we're not the wealthiest state
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: in the United States.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: Yeah, but, I mean, you got to think of what
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: athletics is bringing in every year and TV deals and
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: all that.
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: You hope so. I mean, you're getting a good chunk
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: of money from just that alone. Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: And then you add in tuition and. Cost of living
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: in a dorm, classes, stuff like that.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but that doesn't go towards the athletic department. That
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: goes towards the school. I'm sure they can redirect some
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: of that. No, absolutely. That goes towards the school. They're
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: trying to raise their own money as it goes. A
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: couple days ago, the 2026 Toy Hall of Fame announced
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: the finalists. Let's hear it. Are you ready? Yeah. So
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: they announced 12 toys. See how many I've heard. And then,
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: but there's only three that will go into the Hall
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: of Fame. Okay. So here are the finalists. The first one.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: Let me get to it. Bingo. That's a game. That
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: is a game. But they're calling it a toy. Okay.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: It's out. Yeah. That doesn't make it. Bop it. Have
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: you ever heard of bop it? Twist it. Oh, really?
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Bop it. It's electronic game processes with free play and
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: physical elements in an innovative way.
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: Pull it.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that one belongs to all of us. I don't
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: remember Bop It. Bop It is fun. Are you ready
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: for this? Care Bears. No, get them the hell out
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: of here. Oh, my gosh. It's not a toy. It's
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: a poor Care Bear. It's a stuffed animal. Okay. Well,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: I can see it. It's a dog toy. It's a
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: dog toy. That is so true. Yeah, we couldn't have
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: stuffed animals around any of our dogs. Yeah, we can't.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: Because they were gone. They would literally be gone within seconds.
- 1:20:33Speaker 2: We debated earlier this week getting him one just to
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: see what he would do with it, but we know
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: he would shred it, so we didn't.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: Really? But I think the dog toys that are that way,
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: aren't they a little more durable than just a regular
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: stuffed toy?
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Not if you got a dog who's a maniac like
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: we do.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: Oh, really? What's the dog's name? Can we say?
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: Peter?
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: Jeter. Oh, Jeter. Oh, after Derek? I guess. I don't
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: know how he got his name. Okay. Mahjong. Or Mahjong.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: I like Mahjong. But that's also a game. I've never played.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: That's the part I'm having a hard time with.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: Not at all.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Because it seems like these ones that they came up with,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: the 12, they're all games. All right. So we got
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Bop It. Monster Ha. Ooh, I don't know what that is.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: It's a fashion doll scene in 2010. The first line
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: included Frankie Stein, Claw Dean, Wolf, Laguna Blue, and Cleo Denial.
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: All right. I can get behind that one being a-
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: I have no idea what this is. It's like a Barbie.
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: All right. Mousetrap. Debuted in 1963. See, it's another game.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: I have not heard about Mousetrap in years.
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: It was a fun game, by the way. It was
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: so fun. Yeah, I would agree with that. All right.
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: This is another one. I know what you're going to say,
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: and I could not agree with you more. Pokemon trading
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: card game. Nah, get out of my eye here. It's
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: a game. It's a card game, and I, yeah, Pokemon
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: was kind of odd. Polly Pocket. I can get behind
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Polly Pocket. So you know what Polly Pocket is?
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: You got to think I grew up with all this stuff. Okay, yeah,
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: you did. 1989. I would consider that a toy. Slot.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: I don't know what Slot is. Slides are both a
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: means for thrill-seeking exercise. I'm assuming it's one of these things,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: the plastic things you roll out. Although the apparatus has
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: changed over time, the benefits of playing with a slide
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: remain the same.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: So we're talking like a playground slide.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: I guess we are. I wouldn't consider that a toy.
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: While the origins of the first slide for play in
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: recreation are debated, many scholars believe they have existed for centuries.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: Did you know that? I didn't. I didn't either. So
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: the slide is going to be, that's not a toy.
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: It's an activity. Exactly. Sorry. Game. It's a game. I
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: did like sorry. Tickle me Elmo. There you go. That's
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: a toy. It is?
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: Most annoying toy ever invented. And they were so hard.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: I remember that during Christmas time. Exactly. Stop. I remember
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: that and you couldn't go buy it anywhere. And it's
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: just like, oh my gosh, please. All right, the last
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: one's Yahtzee. Again. And every time I hear Yahtzee, I
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: think of Marcus Dukes. Yahtzee? Yeah.
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: We got to change the The rules for what's a
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: toy and what's not. See, I'm with you right there.
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: Half of those belong in the Game Hall of Fame.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: To date, 90 toys have been enshrined in the National
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: Toy Hall of Fame at the Strong National Museum of Play.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: All right, so I'm going to say Bop It, Polly Pocket,
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: and we'll go Tickle Me Elmo.
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: Oh, really? Okay. Those will be the three. Yeah, because
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: you can be a part of it. You know you
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: can go and vote. Oh, yeah? Yeah. Winners are chosen
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: by a mix of public vote... An decision by the
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: National Selection Advisory Committee. Would you like to be a
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: part of that National Selection Advisory? We would revamp the
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: whole thing. See, well, not only would you revamp, but
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: you get to go back and play with those toys again.
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: That's true. He's like, okay, if you want my honest opinion,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: I need to have one. Send me one. I'm going
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: home with my family and play it tonight.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Man, did you ever have one of those handheld Yahtzees?
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: No. Those were the best on road trips. Really? Oh, yeah. No.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: On road trips, those were undefeated. I mean, on road trips,
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: we would count cars. I mean, that's kind of road trips.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: Or license plates. Yeah, that too, to see what states
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: were there. Yeah, that would be one of those fun games. Now,
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: when's the last time you played a board game?
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: Oddly enough, it was about two months ago.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: Yeah, whenever I went down to Nolan, I played Monopoly.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Okay, good for you. Yeah, I cannot think the last time.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: Probably when my kids were young is the last time
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: I played a board game.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: Actually, me and the roommate played Monopoly probably six months ago.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: I made him tap out after about ten minutes because
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: I bought every property.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: Monopoly was one of my favorites. Yeah.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: Cause you know, I was greedy and I wanted to
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: win everything. I mean, if I'm landing on a square
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: that's available, I'm buying it.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, exactly. I, I loved monopoly. I was pretty
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: good at it, but, uh, anyway, all right, we got
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: to take our last break. When we come back, I
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: do want to talk about North Carolina football. Ooh. And
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: then we haven't talked about Eric Musselman either. And that
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: whole debacle out at, uh, So our Southern Cal. So
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: stay right there. One more segment, and then we got
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: our predictions coming up, too, for the game tomorrow. One
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: more segment. Just Cats coming right up.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: I'm not a soldier. I got a soul, but I'm
- 1:25:35Speaker 3: not a soldier. I got a.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: Soul, but I'm not a soldier. I got a soul,
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: but I'm not a soldier. I got a soul, but
- 1:25:47Speaker 4: I'm not a soldier. I got a soul, but I'm
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: not a soldier.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: All right, two crazy stories that came out this week
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: that we hadn't had time to talk about. The one
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: is the whole Eric Musselman thing at Southern Cal. You know,
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: the head basketball coach over there accused of launching a profanity,
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: racially charged tyrant against a former player. Did you see
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: that in the locker room? I did. It all stemmed
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: back from a game, what was it, last February versus Nebraska,
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: and it was evidently the A Dominican player, Chad Baker Mazzara. Yep,
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: nailed it. Yeah. And, of course, he was dismissed from
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: the team. What do you think about this?
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: I mean, Musselman's kind of a goofball, so I could
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: totally see this being true. But at the same time,
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: Chad Baker Mazzara is kind of a– he's got a
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: few screw loose as well.
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: Oh, does he really? No, I did not know that.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: I could also see this not happening. Oh, wow. I
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: don't know how to feel. It's going to be interesting
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: to see how this goes. Because everything that he's claiming, man,
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: I don't know about the, hopefully nobody has the racial
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: part of it, but I mean, aren't coaches allowed to
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: chew out their players in a certain way?
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: I mean, you would like to think, but. Then again,
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: times are changing and we have gotten a little soft.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. Have we ever? So I look at
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: this and I'm like, oh boy, how is this going
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: to change how coaches react after halftime speeches, after game speeches,
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff with the result of this case?
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: That's a great question. I mean, I still think there's,
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: There is a place in sports to yell at your
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: guys to get them motivated.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: Oh, absolutely, yes.
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: But once you start bringing racial stuff in.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: There's no place for that. Him telling him to go
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: back to the Dominican Republic. I don't know that that's
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: necessarily racial, but it's uncalled for. There's just no need
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: for that.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: I'm just trying to think, is there a comparison? Maybe
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: he should have said, just go back to your mama
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: or something like that. I mean, that's not anything. I mean,
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: if you can't act like a grown man, go back
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: to your mom. I mean, is that bad to say?
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: I don't think so. I mean, I'm not a huge
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: fan of that either. Oh, really? You don't like that
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: one either? What can I say to you? I mean,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: why don't you go back to your mother? I mean,
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: that seems kind of degrading. It does?
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: More so maybe you're.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Acting like a... All right, so if I said you're
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: acting like a baby, that's essentially what it means. Yeah.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: I mean, that's kind of degrading. Well, it is if
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: you're acting like a... Okay. All right, then. We're not
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: going to get onto that, so... What do you think
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: about Steve Belichick, Bill Belichick's son that's being... released from
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: the University of North Carolina. This is going to be
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: another crazy story. It is, which may ultimately lead to
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: the demise of Belichick. That's what I wanted to ask
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: you next. Exactly. Is this the start of the downfall
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: of Bill Belichick at UNC?
- 1:29:16Speaker 2: I mean, he's already lost his defensive coordinator. He lost
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: his general manager for basically the same reason.
- 1:29:22Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:29:22Speaker 2: So unless this is a Rick Pitino situation where he
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: truly didn't know if any of this was going on.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Oh, come on. It's his son. He knew what was happening.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: He dug on right. He knew it was happening. So
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: that's going to be another crazy story. And I mean,
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: it's just I never dreamed when I saw that North
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: Carolina was hiring Bill Belichick. I thought, man, they are lucky.
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: I thought he was going to kill it at North Carolina. Same.
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: And boy, it's just been the absolute opposite. I mean,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: polar opposite. And just, I never dreamed that kind of
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: hard to believe it really is. So now does it
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: make you believe that it was all Tom Brady and
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: not bill Belichick with the Patriots? Oh, I've thought that
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: for years. Have you really? No, I really thought it
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: was Bill played a part. Sure. But Tom Brady is
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: the best quarterback we've ever seen. I agree with that,
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: but I just, I thought, Oh, come on. You gotta
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: be kidding me. It just, uh, But anyway, no, I
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: thought it was partially Brady, a good portion of Brady.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: But then I thought, you know, Belichick's a smart guy.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: And I thought, he's a good coach. I don't think
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: he's a great coach, but he's a good coach. I mean,
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: he does have to manage the team.
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: We do have to keep in mind how much is
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: different between the NFL and college.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, it's a lot different. Although Harbaugh has
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: succeeded at John– Jim Harbaugh has done well at both ends.
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: Although his second stint in the NFL hasn't turned out
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: great yet. No, the Chargers look horrible. Yeah, they really do.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: But we'll see. I mean, I'm not giving up on
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: them yet. So, all right. 3.30 tomorrow. UK is headed
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: down to Kyle Field down in College Station, Texas. Joe
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: Tessitore is going to be doing the play-by-play. Jesse Palmer. Yeah.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: Boxing guy. What did you say? Boxing guy. So you
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: kind of feel the same way about Joe Tessitore as
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: I do?
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: Look, I like him. I think he does a good job.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: But once you learn somebody's voice on one sport and
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: then they switch to another sport, it messes with my
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: head so bad.
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: Does it really?
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: So it's like every time I hear him, I can
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: only picture him doing boxing.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: Oh, really? Yeah. Every time.
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: Huh.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: Okay. He's just a little over the top. Yeah, I
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: think he's goofy. Okay. I'm not a big fan of
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: Joe Tessitore or Jesse Palmer, you know, the former quarterback
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: from Florida. But I just, yeah, I feel with Joe Tessitore,
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: I feel the ego coming out. And it's just like, okay, dude. I, I,
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: he did a horrible job on Monday. Remember he was
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: on Monday night football and he was terrible at it.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: And part of me is like, Oh, I feel a
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: little bit bad for him, but it's like, no, he's
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: still there. And he's still just, I don't know guys
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: that have that give me the vibe of an ego.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: Just turn me off every time. And I, I, I
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: tune it out. So I'll be listening to Tom Leach
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: and Jeff. Now that's the veteran. Exactly. It is a
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: veteran move. So, Uh, game's going to be played on, um, ESPN.
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: Is that right? Yep. And, uh, so it'll be fun.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: Louisville's on ESPN too.
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. That's right. Yeah. The little brother's going
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: to be on the little station. So your prediction for tomorrow.
- 1:32:43Speaker 2: I've got a and M winning it 44 to 20.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Oh, really? So a 24 point difference. Yeah. I think
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: it's going to be a little closer. I think it's
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: going to be more like a.
- 1:32:53Speaker 5: 24, 17.
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: If, This Kentucky defense holds A & M to 24.
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: I will be wildly impressed coming in.
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: It's going to happen. I'm telling you, it's going to
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: be a lot of fun, and you're going to think, okay,
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: we might have lost, but I still have hope for
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: this team. That's what's going to happen, and that's how
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: Will Stein is going to have this team prepared in
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: his first, first big game. Okay. Oh, come on, man.
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: Why are you being that way? I think this is
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: going to be a repeat of last weekend all over again.
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: Okay. All right, then. There you go. So sorry to
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: hear that. Anyway, everybody have a great weekend. We'll see
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: you Monday on Just the Cats.
