- 0:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Hell, I'm good. How are you doing? Chilling? You know, chilling, chilling?
- 0:08Speaker 1: How's your Wednesday coming? Listen for it's cold. It's officially
- 0:12Speaker 1: winter in l A. So I'm dealing with that. I've
- 0:15Speaker 1: layered up with the sweaters, trying to stay toasty. But
- 0:19Speaker 1: there's also a Star Wars Christmas special coming and I'm
- 0:22Speaker 1: really excited to watch it. I have it in my inbox.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I have to watch it tonight. And Donald I haven't
- 0:29Speaker 1: seen the original Star Wars Christmas specials. I'm gonna watch
- 0:32Speaker 1: that too. I mean, there's like a six minute conversation
- 0:37Speaker 1: in Wookie with no subtitles Christmas. It's like like you're
- 0:43Speaker 1: literally sitting there like what. I've only heard all of
- 0:50Speaker 1: the like fans to talk about it for years, and
- 0:52Speaker 1: I've heard about six minute Wokie conversation. Um, I've heard
- 0:56Speaker 1: it kind of drags it. It mostly takes place among
- 0:58Speaker 1: the Wookies, isn't I right? Well, that's what celebration originally
- 1:01Speaker 1: started as it was like from what I remember, and
- 1:05Speaker 1: I could be wrong, so please don't quote me. But originally,
- 1:09Speaker 1: like Celebration was a Wookie holiday and then it turned
- 1:12Speaker 1: into the New Year type holiday or the Christmas type
- 1:17Speaker 1: holiday that comes on every cycle in the Star Wars universe.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Got it? Got it? Yeah, I'm excited to check it out.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I I've heard about it for so long. I'm finally
- 1:27Speaker 1: gonna take the deep dive. As I solidified my Star
- 1:30Speaker 1: Wars fandom by watching literally everything they've put out, including
- 1:34Speaker 1: what most people think is the worst thing they've ever
- 1:36Speaker 1: put out. If you can find it. There's other shows
- 1:40Speaker 1: that are like The e Walk Adventures, the Battle for Indoor.
- 1:46Speaker 1: These are all Cannon films too. These are things made
- 1:48Speaker 1: by George Lucas. There's one thing that's not cannon anymore.
- 1:52Speaker 1: But there was a cartoon that came on Saturday morning
- 1:55Speaker 1: back in the days, if you can find it where
- 1:57Speaker 1: it's like about the e Walks also because and also
- 2:01Speaker 1: it was about our two and three p O and
- 2:04Speaker 1: all the masters that they had before somewhere in between
- 2:09Speaker 1: where you know they were owned by other people before
- 2:13Speaker 1: Leia and her family owned an Anakin. But then that's
- 2:17Speaker 1: all debunked now because Anakin built three PO. But like
- 2:21Speaker 1: there's this whole story of the two of them being
- 2:25Speaker 1: you know, transferred from one owner to another, sometimes by
- 2:31Speaker 1: being stolen or you know, their adventure with this one ends,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and so they joined forces with this one. And it
- 2:38Speaker 1: has nothing to do with the Rebel Alliance. It has
- 2:41Speaker 1: nothing to do with anything. It just has everything to
- 2:42Speaker 1: do with the galaxy. I don't know if there's before
- 2:46Speaker 1: the Empire or if the Empire is there, but it's
- 2:49Speaker 1: before they're owned by the Skywalker family and I don't
- 2:53Speaker 1: know if it's exists anymore, but you can find it somewhere.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I'm sure someone has it. I'm sure our fans are
- 2:59Speaker 1: gonna send us all of the links, which we appreciate obviously. Uh.
- 3:03Speaker 1: This is I'm so excited to do this show. Donald.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I had no idea that existed, and now I feel
- 3:08Speaker 1: like maybe all of those Clone Wars episodes based off
- 3:11Speaker 1: of the like little mini Droid missions and things were
- 3:13Speaker 1: maybe inspired by this early animation work. I'm for sure
- 3:17Speaker 1: gonna have to go check it out. You've been watching
- 3:19Speaker 1: The Mandalorian though, right every single Friday morning it's a
- 3:26Speaker 1: nine am wake up. It like midnight. Literally, I'll put
- 3:32Speaker 1: the kids down at seven and wake up at eleven
- 3:36Speaker 1: fifty nine just to watch it turn over. I like
- 3:41Speaker 1: the difficulty that I have trying to get Disney Plus
- 3:44Speaker 1: to reload so that the Mandalorian episode, the newest episode
- 3:49Speaker 1: refreshes yourself such tourment. When I wake up, it's already there.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I just click go and we're ready. We're in it
- 3:57Speaker 1: because I need to watch it like right away. And
- 3:59Speaker 1: then I watched it three or four times. Uh yeah,
- 4:03Speaker 1: I can't. I don't have time to watch it twice
- 4:05Speaker 1: in a row. But I do watch it again. When
- 4:07Speaker 1: my roommate Andrew comes home, we probably a second time
- 4:09Speaker 1: for him. And it's great because my parents surprised us
- 4:11Speaker 1: with a new seventy Samsung TV. They bought us a
- 4:15Speaker 1: new sound bar. So we have just been having the
- 4:17Speaker 1: greatest time experiencing The Mandalorian the way it should be real,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you know, on a giant screen with a lot of
- 4:23Speaker 1: full sound. It's been. It's this season has really impressed.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I like Season one a lot. There's so much to love.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I mean, of course, from the child you know, to
- 4:34Speaker 1: like the Pedro Pascal reveal type of white TV's appearance,
- 4:37Speaker 1: and then has so many directors of color and women
- 4:40Speaker 1: come in and put their stamp on Star Wars. All
- 4:42Speaker 1: of that was a lot of fun. But for me,
- 4:44Speaker 1: it's like a Star Wars fan, I was like, this
- 4:46Speaker 1: doesn't really feel connected to the larger universe, and I
- 4:49Speaker 1: kind of lost in time and I just I don't know.
- 4:54Speaker 1: And then of course Disney was just like, well, here
- 4:56Speaker 1: you go, here's all the things that you wanted to
- 4:58Speaker 1: be better. They figured, doubt how to use UM. If
- 5:01Speaker 1: you don't know, you should absolutely be watching the behind
- 5:03Speaker 1: the scenes stuff on the Mandalorian. They did he basically
- 5:06Speaker 1: a season one recap with all the creatives. They shoot
- 5:09Speaker 1: the Mandalorian in this like digital room. I think we've
- 5:11Speaker 1: talked about it on Big Doctors before, but it's a
- 5:13Speaker 1: giant circle room. They can put up any background banned
- 5:16Speaker 1: there in a location. To me, the shooting of that
- 5:18Speaker 1: in season one was rough, like it lacked depth, which
- 5:22Speaker 1: I think you really need to sell these big outdoor speezes.
- 5:24Speaker 1: They figured that problem that we have much more textured
- 5:27Speaker 1: UM settings, which makes the whole thing feel more alive
- 5:31Speaker 1: to me. And then on top of that, they gave
- 5:33Speaker 1: us not just excellent performances, not just great stories in
- 5:38Speaker 1: the genre of Western and Samurai, but they also linked
- 5:43Speaker 1: us to the larger universe. I know where we are
- 5:45Speaker 1: in time now, I understand my name villains a little
- 5:48Speaker 1: bit better. The child more goo am I saying his
- 5:51Speaker 1: name right? It's right, grow say it with that hard end.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So Brogu' is like like he's become a full person,
- 6:03Speaker 1: Like he's not just a child anymore. We have a backstory.
- 6:06Speaker 1: It's been an amazing season. How are you enjoying season two? Well,
- 6:11Speaker 1: I gotta be honest with you. I think it's really good.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I think it's way better than season one. I think
- 6:18Speaker 1: this is but I think this is how uh Feloni
- 6:23Speaker 1: is like if you watch all of the things that
- 6:28Speaker 1: he's done. So like start, Let's start with Clone Wars.
- 6:32Speaker 1: When Clone Wars first came out, it came out as
- 6:34Speaker 1: a w B movie and it introduced this character a Soca,
- 6:43Speaker 1: and everybody was like, oh my god, this is so annoying.
- 6:46Speaker 1: The first season the Clone Wars, it's cool, it's good
- 6:50Speaker 1: and everything, but you know, it doesn't really catch pace
- 6:53Speaker 1: until the third season, and then it's often running. Colony
- 6:57Speaker 1: learned his lessons and and similarly, Yes develops understands what
- 7:02Speaker 1: the fans wants and brings it to us in a
- 7:05Speaker 1: way that has value. All of a sudden, Clone Wars
- 7:07Speaker 1: is fired. Uh then it comes Rebels. Rebels comes out,
- 7:13Speaker 1: and now people are like, Clone Wars, it's for teenagers
- 7:16Speaker 1: and adults. Man, this Rebels thing is for kids. Why
- 7:19Speaker 1: would I ever want to watch a show for kids
- 7:24Speaker 1: with it? But the end of the season, all of
- 7:27Speaker 1: a sudden, you're like, oh my god, this is like,
- 7:29Speaker 1: this is the best Star Wars I've seen in a
- 7:32Speaker 1: long time. Yes. Absolutely. By season three, after they've introduced
- 7:36Speaker 1: the Soca again first that everybody hated when she first
- 7:40Speaker 1: was introduced in the Warner Brothers movie. By the time
- 7:43Speaker 1: they introduce her, now everyone's so crazy and they're out
- 7:47Speaker 1: of their minds. Right. So I feel with the Mandalorians
- 7:53Speaker 1: the first season, it's just touching, Okay, what can we do?
- 7:59Speaker 1: What is what's possible? You know? For storytelling. Also, it's like,
- 8:04Speaker 1: all right, well, what will the audience accept? What won't
- 8:06Speaker 1: they accept? And we've never had Star Wars in this
- 8:09Speaker 1: medium before in a thirty minute to an hour depending
- 8:12Speaker 1: on the episode, like in your Face once a week
- 8:16Speaker 1: for six or eight weeks experience, you know, are their
- 8:20Speaker 1: giant movies or their animated shows. But this is what's
- 8:23Speaker 1: great about this show. They're developing these characters before our eyes,
- 8:29Speaker 1: and we're being blinded by what's in the show, you
- 8:34Speaker 1: know what I mean, the cameos and all of these things.
- 8:37Speaker 1: But if you're really watching the show, this Dan Jaron
- 8:41Speaker 1: character is really dynamic. Yeah, how it started and how
- 8:45Speaker 1: it's going right now, He's a completely different man already,
- 8:48Speaker 1: and we're only sixteen chapters and seventeen chapters. You know.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Justin pointed out the other day that, like if you
- 8:55Speaker 1: think about the moments that Feloni hones in on in
- 8:58Speaker 1: Star Wars, the typically the Battle of the Fates, and
- 9:01Speaker 1: this idea that without a fully grown adult father, Anakin
- 9:06Speaker 1: was always going to go the way Yoda initially thought
- 9:08Speaker 1: he was going to go, right, He didn't have that
- 9:11Speaker 1: that strong guided teacher, yeah, yeah, but he needed a father,
- 9:21Speaker 1: was yeah, And that's why Luke's guidance later like become
- 9:25Speaker 1: so important to like his head on and him like
- 9:27Speaker 1: struggling to figure out Like first, you know, he's got
- 9:31Speaker 1: old Obi Wan, a person who's learned their lessons, but
- 9:33Speaker 1: then he also has what Anakin was never really allowed
- 9:37Speaker 1: to have, which is a trusted circle of friends. Right,
- 9:40Speaker 1: Anakin's too busy literally fighting a war, battling around it's
- 9:44Speaker 1: so interesting to me that he Dave alone picks up
- 9:48Speaker 1: on all of those ideas and flips it on his head.
- 9:51Speaker 1: And because it's a guy figuring out how do I
- 9:52Speaker 1: be a dad? Right, it's always sons looking for their
- 9:55Speaker 1: fathers and said, this is a guy who's like, I
- 10:00Speaker 1: guess I'll just step up into the position of being
- 10:02Speaker 1: a dad. And it's really sort of thrilling and exciting
- 10:05Speaker 1: to see that a parental figure can be not just
- 10:08Speaker 1: like an action star, but also like we can explore
- 10:12Speaker 1: those faults in an action space, in an action setting.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I feel like so oftentimes when we get our heroes,
- 10:18Speaker 1: you know, if we think about our classic eighties specifically
- 10:20Speaker 1: heroes are John McLean's and whatnots uh, they're like supermato
- 10:24Speaker 1: guys who sort of are only after like a romantic
- 10:28Speaker 1: love interest. And I like that the greatest love in
- 10:31Speaker 1: this is between a father and a son, and that
- 10:33Speaker 1: it's a father trying to figure out how do I
- 10:35Speaker 1: be a good dad. It's just it gives me all
- 10:37Speaker 1: the warm fuzzies of like a classic Disney tale, but
- 10:40Speaker 1: it's Star Wars, and I just think, like, I'm excited
- 10:43Speaker 1: that the company is figuring out, how are we going
- 10:44Speaker 1: to do Star Wars? And it's good and they're able
- 10:47Speaker 1: to do it by giving the fans what they want,
- 10:49Speaker 1: you know what I mean, a Soca Boba fett, you
- 10:53Speaker 1: know what I mean. I'm gonna say one thing. I
- 10:55Speaker 1: you know, the first Bill Burrow episode, Bill, that's how
- 10:58Speaker 1: I didn't stay his name Bill. Yeah, the first Bill
- 11:01Speaker 1: Burr episode. I was like, all out, he missed it.
- 11:07Speaker 1: They missed it. They missed it, you know what I mean?
- 11:10Speaker 1: You know, And I wasn't like, don't put him back
- 11:14Speaker 1: on the show, but I was like, well, maybe let's not,
- 11:16Speaker 1: you know, focus just on that character. I'm glad. It
- 11:20Speaker 1: was just like a side mission. I'll just say this.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So when I heard he was coming back, I was like,
- 11:24Speaker 1: I hope he you know, what's going to happen? Because
- 11:27Speaker 1: I remember the last time? What what? How did they
- 11:29Speaker 1: do this now? And it wasn't that he was bad
- 11:32Speaker 1: on the show. It wasn't that, it just it just
- 11:34Speaker 1: didn't feel like it fit the tone of the Mandalorian.
- 11:38Speaker 1: But now that the Mandalorian the world has opened up
- 11:42Speaker 1: so big. A storm trooper tale is very interesting, especially
- 11:47Speaker 1: after the war. Yeah, and it's also a Redemption Tale also,
- 11:53Speaker 1: and to have Bill Burke come back and redeemed not
- 11:55Speaker 1: only the first performance where it seemed like he didn't
- 11:57Speaker 1: really know, he didn't really know Star Wars or that
- 11:59Speaker 1: he aided Star Wars or whatever it was, but he
- 12:02Speaker 1: came back and he crushed this man, like he freaking
- 12:05Speaker 1: really did his thing in this episode. At the table,
- 12:10Speaker 1: it's your favorite standing Officer, it's your favorite episode. Wow,
- 12:14Speaker 1: that's that's It's not mine, but it's a really good episode.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Of all of them, it's my favorite episode. It felt
- 12:23Speaker 1: the most like a TV episode out of all of them.
- 12:27Speaker 1: It wasn't look who's on the show this week. It
- 12:29Speaker 1: wasn't look at what we're doing this week, look at
- 12:31Speaker 1: all the Easter eggs we have in the show, look
- 12:34Speaker 1: at what's going on. This felt the most like a
- 12:37Speaker 1: straight up television show. It wasn't just look at all
- 12:41Speaker 1: of the flips, like the thing about the Mandalorian. That's
- 12:43Speaker 1: also great is that they have a lot of flair
- 12:45Speaker 1: going on in that show. There's a lot of flair,
- 12:47Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It's all fans service this year.
- 12:50Speaker 1: But that's why this was my favorite episode so far,
- 12:52Speaker 1: because it didn't there was no fan service in it
- 12:55Speaker 1: that and it was beautifully acted by Bill Burr and
- 12:58Speaker 1: Pedro Pascal. Taking off his helmet was probably I felt
- 13:03Speaker 1: uncomfortable for him and him not being able to make
- 13:06Speaker 1: eye contact with people because he was so used to
- 13:10Speaker 1: having the mask on and having Oh he just played
- 13:14Speaker 1: everything so well and Bill Barb with his ptsd s
- 13:18Speaker 1: just so well. It was amazing episode, my favorite so far.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Rick did a great job directing it. Rick He's incredible,
- 13:26Speaker 1: and I think because he directed Bill Burr's last episode
- 13:29Speaker 1: as well. And I what I really appreciate is them
- 13:31Speaker 1: being like, no, we have found a stunning casting crew.
- 13:35Speaker 1: It was our tone that we're figuring it out, you
- 13:37Speaker 1: know what I mean? And I think Feloni and to
- 13:40Speaker 1: John Favro's credit to like this is where they truly excel.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Is like bringing people together that can make great things. Well,
- 13:47Speaker 1: they figured out that character's tone. If if he's a
- 13:50Speaker 1: part of the Rangers of the Republic, this new show
- 13:53Speaker 1: that's coming out with him and Karadoon and and uh
- 13:58Speaker 1: Phinictiontion and both, yes, yeah, if they're all part of
- 14:03Speaker 1: the Rangers of the Republic, that's pretty cool too. I'd
- 14:06Speaker 1: like to be a part of it. I'm just gonna
- 14:07Speaker 1: put it out there. I see y'all got a bunch
- 14:08Speaker 1: of stuff coming out. I didn't hear my name put
- 14:10Speaker 1: with any of it. Donald's right here, having already played
- 14:13Speaker 1: a character, ready to go. I'm you know, I'm look man,
- 14:16Speaker 1: I'm getting in shape. I'm working out. I'm doing my thing.
- 14:19Speaker 1: I know how to hold a blaster. I'm nice with
- 14:21Speaker 1: a blaster, like Han Solo. I set it in the rhymes,
- 14:23Speaker 1: set it out there, put it in the street stags.
- 14:25Speaker 1: If they have the beloved Dad from Kim's convenience in
- 14:30Speaker 1: there being a cop and flying ships and like saving
- 14:34Speaker 1: our crew from ice spiders. I don't see why there's
- 14:37Speaker 1: not room for Donald fase On here to be saving
- 14:40Speaker 1: the day and stuff. I would listen. I would sacrifice
- 14:49Speaker 1: m a lamb or a goat if necessary. I'm gonna
- 14:54Speaker 1: put it out there. I would do it. I would
- 14:57Speaker 1: do it myself. I would listen whatever is necessary. If
- 15:01Speaker 1: I need to burn my collection of uh Star Wars
- 15:07Speaker 1: comics in order to be part of the Star Wars
- 15:12Speaker 1: universe again, I will do it. If I need to
- 15:16Speaker 1: trade in all of my Star Wars Black series action figures,
- 15:21Speaker 1: I will do it if I need to never talk
- 15:25Speaker 1: about Star Wars ever again. Joel, I'm sorry. We're about
- 15:30Speaker 1: to sign contracts. Let's stop that promise. I will bring
- 15:34Speaker 1: your comics and effigy with you, and I will do
- 15:36Speaker 1: it till I know I would do it. I will
- 15:38Speaker 1: do it. I will do it. I'm sorry, Joel, I
- 15:41Speaker 1: would do it. I'll bring you with me, though, I'll
- 15:44Speaker 1: bring you with me. I'll bring you. It'll be worth
- 15:46Speaker 1: it to come on set. I'm about that life, you know.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I'll just how their noses or I don't know, move
- 15:51Speaker 1: a spotlight. What are we going to do? Bring you
- 15:53Speaker 1: with me? You willing to do it? Listen. I'm working
- 15:57Speaker 1: on my skills. I will start working with acting coaches.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I will freaking disguise myself but still look like myself.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I still gotta look like myself. That's the thing. You
- 16:07Speaker 1: can't just put me like in a droid outfit and
- 16:09Speaker 1: be like there, you get it there, all right? Just
- 16:12Speaker 1: people of color, as aliens or robots want to be people,
- 16:17Speaker 1: That's right. I want to be a black man other
- 16:19Speaker 1: than Lando cal Risson, Apollo Creed and freaking uh Sam Jackson,
- 16:26Speaker 1: the baddest and the galaxy. Wanna I want to be
- 16:29Speaker 1: one of the other ones, one of the other black
- 16:32Speaker 1: people too, because you know, the galaxy is populated with him,
- 16:35Speaker 1: and I want to be one of them. So steer
- 16:37Speaker 1: Star Wars people they John Kathy, George Disney either fighting,
- 16:48Speaker 1: who else who? Pixar just create a listen you can
- 16:51Speaker 1: just see and one to whom it may concern. I'm
- 16:58Speaker 1: not begging, but I'm I'm pleading, not not telling. Shoot,
- 17:04Speaker 1: I'm not going to threaten him, no way, No, I
- 17:07Speaker 1: want to be in the movie. I'm asking with all
- 17:11Speaker 1: that is in me and all that I could possibly be.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I promise you check the track record. I can help
- 17:20Speaker 1: carry a show I did not. It was on Disney too.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I've been hit movie for Disney as well. Out Scraps
- 17:32Speaker 1: is a desity show. To go with me, Ah promise,
- 17:38Speaker 1: I will make it the best relationship ever in the
- 17:42Speaker 1: history of So he's not gonna mess it up. Like
- 17:46Speaker 1: he's going to be there on time lines memorized in
- 17:49Speaker 1: the gym five am, like he's ready. I will look
- 17:53Speaker 1: like what you need me to look like. I will
- 17:57Speaker 1: ask the way you need me to act. I know
- 17:59Speaker 1: all the land which I know the binary code. I
- 18:03Speaker 1: know the difference between the Battle of t Nab, which
- 18:06Speaker 1: is the correct way you to say it, and to nab.
- 18:09Speaker 1: I know the difference. I'm just gonna put it out there.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Lando said it. I'm picturing you. It's liked and all
- 18:17Speaker 1: and Alderon. I know the difference between Alderon and Alderon.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I see there's comments on your Instagram, and I feel like,
- 18:25Speaker 1: you know, it's very like daddy centered, and I feel
- 18:29Speaker 1: like if we made you like like a farmer with
- 18:31Speaker 1: like some kids, but then the Empire console like take
- 18:35Speaker 1: all your plants, and I don't know, we could do
- 18:37Speaker 1: we could do Game of Thrones level tragic where they're
- 18:39Speaker 1: like start to death and you're the last one to
- 18:40Speaker 1: survive and you're like, it's just me and I'm just
- 18:43Speaker 1: gonna face the Empire loan rate, like just by myself
- 18:46Speaker 1: loan gutnment. Or I could just be like you know,
- 18:49Speaker 1: and a crew, you know what I mean, like a
- 18:52Speaker 1: high domin do you have skills and knowledge and energy
- 18:56Speaker 1: to bring to this. I'm willing to just be like,
- 18:58Speaker 1: you know, the dude that punches the buttons on the
- 19:03Speaker 1: ship and said, I am unwilling to do that. I
- 19:05Speaker 1: don't want you to have a famous person Cameo, the
- 19:08Speaker 1: whole character, as long as I get to shoot blasters
- 19:10Speaker 1: and everything like that at at the bad guys or
- 19:14Speaker 1: the good guys. You know what I mean. I'll be Please,
- 19:17Speaker 1: let Donald be more than just pushing things in the back.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I mean, if we get that that's all you have
- 19:21Speaker 1: to offer, obviously we're gonna take it. But like, there's
- 19:24Speaker 1: so much more you could be doing. I just want
- 19:26Speaker 1: to be a Star Wars more than anything I've ever
- 19:28Speaker 1: wanted to be in my life. If I was in
- 19:30Speaker 1: Star Wars as a live action character, I feel like,
- 19:34Speaker 1: first of all, I feel like everyone would accept it,
- 19:37Speaker 1: and I don't think everyone would be like, oh, ship
- 19:39Speaker 1: Turks and fucking Star Wars. I don't think so either.
- 19:42Speaker 1: That was my fear was that I was too famous
- 19:45Speaker 1: for Star Wars. But I don't think anybody is too
- 19:47Speaker 1: famous for Star Wars anymore, you know what I mean.
- 19:51Speaker 1: At one point, I do agree that if you had
- 19:54Speaker 1: a niche and you were in Star Wars, it was distracting.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Now thing is distracting because it's so accessible. So that
- 20:03Speaker 1: being said, I'll sing songs for your Star Wars for you. Yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I could be a freaking I could be a freaking
- 20:19Speaker 1: musician in Star Wars who does like gigs at different spots.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Be a canta lounge singer, for sure. I could be
- 20:29Speaker 1: the guy that's like here and there and every now
- 20:32Speaker 1: and then gets caught up in missions and that's all. Listen,
- 20:36Speaker 1: let's re do canto bite and make it epic, right,
- 20:39Speaker 1: Let's have you be in the casino singing down. But
- 20:41Speaker 1: I not only do like canto bite, but I also
- 20:44Speaker 1: do like places where scum and villainy be like, I'm
- 20:49Speaker 1: I go with a get pays you know I to go.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm all about the credits, but I also have a
- 20:53Speaker 1: blast track my side and a pretty fast ship. But
- 20:57Speaker 1: we're always about the music. We're always about them. Was like,
- 21:01Speaker 1: na san a settee. Uh, this is starting sound like
- 21:05Speaker 1: guard you to the Galaxy time Star Wars, and I
- 21:08Speaker 1: don't stand it. Fan it's something I'm fanness. He's that
- 21:18Speaker 1: here composing red funny that's from returning to the Jedi
- 21:25Speaker 1: the original songs. I'm doing the words wrong, but it
- 21:30Speaker 1: don't matter. Had a fan of their a song that's
- 21:35Speaker 1: funky in return of the Jedi original song from returning
- 21:39Speaker 1: to the Jedi when you cut to the band playing
- 21:42Speaker 1: in Jabba's Palace is Fire and it was like the
- 21:47Speaker 1: original song. It's like, so I'm shaping up and working
- 21:50Speaker 1: out what Yeah, oh man, I want to table this
- 21:57Speaker 1: intro to do in actual intro. Welcome you guys, some
- 22:01Speaker 1: of you. If you listen to pick doctor youll friends
- 22:03Speaker 1: have been waiting for for for this Star Wars show.
- 22:08Speaker 1: We've been waiting forever. Obviously, both super busy, but it's
- 22:11Speaker 1: something we've been wanting to do for such a long time,
- 22:14Speaker 1: and now we're here and we're doing it. It's always
- 22:18Speaker 1: great to, you know, sit down and discuss Star Wars
- 22:22Speaker 1: with anyone, And I couldn't imagine doing it with anyone
- 22:26Speaker 1: other than you, my amiga from another Madre. Does that
- 22:34Speaker 1: even make sense? Then my friend from another mother, my
- 22:38Speaker 1: friend from it makes perfect sense, right, my amiga from
- 22:42Speaker 1: another Madre. I'm excited to talk you know, the Battle
- 22:47Speaker 1: of Galaxies. Yeah, I mean I think your fans know
- 22:52Speaker 1: you voice actual characters in act. You are canonically a
- 22:57Speaker 1: part of the Star Wars universe. But you've all for ever. Yes,
- 23:02Speaker 1: since I was three years old, I've been a friend
- 23:04Speaker 1: as a matter of fact, one of my first memories
- 23:06Speaker 1: ever into life period. Forget about it just being the
- 23:10Speaker 1: Star Wars universe. Let's just say into life, one of
- 23:13Speaker 1: my first memories is walking into a movie theater and
- 23:16Speaker 1: seeing Our two d to scroll across the screen because
- 23:21Speaker 1: we were obviously late for the movie, you know, being
- 23:23Speaker 1: on time back in the day, we were late for
- 23:26Speaker 1: the movie, so we walk in with our two. We
- 23:29Speaker 1: missed the whole opening opening shot. I don't even recall
- 23:34Speaker 1: seeing the freaking Bap bap. But I don't even recall
- 23:38Speaker 1: seeing that. I just recall seeing our two right before
- 23:40Speaker 1: he gets shot by job. That's like one of my
- 23:43Speaker 1: first memories ever. So it's very interesting that that's it.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And it's not that Our two is one of my
- 23:51Speaker 1: least favorite characters, but it's just that my my introduction
- 23:54Speaker 1: to it all was actually, if you really think about it,
- 23:58Speaker 1: the Bible of the Star Wars Wars universe are two
- 24:01Speaker 1: and three po hold all the information you know. You
- 24:06Speaker 1: could say what you want to say about the Jedi
- 24:08Speaker 1: books and everything like that, but all of the knowledge
- 24:11Speaker 1: that we know so far in Star Wars other than
- 24:13Speaker 1: the Mandalorian. But do you want to talk about Clone Wars.
- 24:16Speaker 1: You want to talk about all of that stuff in
- 24:18Speaker 1: some way, are two and three po have touched it
- 24:21Speaker 1: all and have all of the knowledge of what was
- 24:24Speaker 1: going on in that time, and so my first introduction
- 24:26Speaker 1: into it was through the Book of Knowledge of Star Wars.
- 24:30Speaker 1: That is so wild and amazing that it's like that's
- 24:34Speaker 1: your earliest memory. I think it explains a lot about
- 24:36Speaker 1: the person you became. I have been writing about Star
- 24:40Speaker 1: Wars for a long time. I did a recap show
- 24:43Speaker 1: of Rebels when it was on UM. I have many
- 24:46Speaker 1: videos reacting to a lot of this last trilogies trailers,
- 24:50Speaker 1: which as we know, Disney and Lucas aced those trailers,
- 24:54Speaker 1: every single one of them greater than the last. So
- 24:56Speaker 1: entertaining my earliest Star Wars memory, it has to be
- 25:01Speaker 1: going to so like I grew up on the Star
- 25:03Speaker 1: Wars movies. They were always playing in the background. My
- 25:05Speaker 1: dad's a big fan. But it wasn't until like we
- 25:08Speaker 1: went and saw it in n I was ten. I
- 25:12Speaker 1: remember making the long drive into the city. Was like, yes,
- 25:16Speaker 1: I was. I was a babe, a youngling. As they say,
- 25:21Speaker 1: to see episode four or five or six, you're going
- 25:23Speaker 1: to see episode one, Yes, and there was a kid
- 25:26Speaker 1: in it and he was gonna fly things. And I
- 25:29Speaker 1: knew that, like, it was going to be a very
- 25:32Speaker 1: emotionally intense experience the minute we came in, because it
- 25:35Speaker 1: was all adults who like had such hushed reverence. It
- 25:38Speaker 1: was the first screening, the day after the midnight screening,
- 25:42Speaker 1: and I remember we sat down. I don't remember much
- 25:45Speaker 1: about like opening shots and everything, but I do remember,
- 25:48Speaker 1: funnily enough, when R t D two comes on the screen,
- 25:50Speaker 1: the whole audience lost their damn minds. And it's the
- 25:53Speaker 1: minute I become a Star Wars fanatic because I love fandoms.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I love the debates, I love the illogical leads we
- 26:01Speaker 1: occasionally make to try to make things work. I love
- 26:05Speaker 1: our dedication. I love the fan piction. Fandom is what
- 26:08Speaker 1: brought me into Star Wars and R two D two
- 26:10Speaker 1: and the fans interaction to seeing the first familiar character
- 26:14Speaker 1: that pops up in the new trilogy solidified that moment
- 26:17Speaker 1: for me, and ever since I've been I've been a
- 26:19Speaker 1: Star Wars fan. It's crazy that our two has that
- 26:23Speaker 1: effect on people, but and and it's only fitting that
- 26:26Speaker 1: he's the first familiar character that you see in the
- 26:29Speaker 1: Phantom Menace, even the Obi Wan's in it and everything
- 26:32Speaker 1: like that. It's not Alec Ginnis playing obi Wan Kenobi.
- 26:34Speaker 1: It's a reactor. It's you and McGregor, and you know
- 26:39Speaker 1: in the beginning it's not the obi Wan Kenobi. We
- 26:42Speaker 1: know are two D two and three po are? You know,
- 26:45Speaker 1: it's almost like they're the same person. You say it together.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Are two D two and C three p O are
- 26:52Speaker 1: so important to this universe that it's only fitting that
- 26:55Speaker 1: we start this first episode talking about them. It's only
- 26:59Speaker 1: fitting that first introduction to Star Wars is through one
- 27:03Speaker 1: of them, and at the end of it all, it's
- 27:06Speaker 1: only fitting that our two was the first person. What's
- 27:09Speaker 1: the first person? I'm talking about it like it's an
- 27:11Speaker 1: actual sent me in being first droid that you see.
- 27:15Speaker 1: I think it's totally fair that you talked about him
- 27:17Speaker 1: as a real person. I know you've been to a
- 27:19Speaker 1: lot of Star Wars premieres and events and things. I
- 27:21Speaker 1: was at the Road one premiere and he like, no,
- 27:25Speaker 1: not the Road one premiere. Is at the episode nine
- 27:27Speaker 1: press junket, he comes out and he's rolling around and
- 27:31Speaker 1: a bunch of like journalists, so These are people who
- 27:33Speaker 1: you know, are often catered to. They get like, you know,
- 27:36Speaker 1: they're entertainment journalists, so they're talking to the stars around
- 27:40Speaker 1: everybody nobody cares about, Like, oh my gosh, there's like
- 27:44Speaker 1: all the actors from the movie you know, R T. G.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Two rolls in. Everyone's like, get out your phones. We're
- 27:48Speaker 1: taking self in long lines porn. I feel like Star Wars,
- 27:52Speaker 1: particularly since the opening of the Star Wars Disney theme park,
- 27:57Speaker 1: I just feel like there's something authentically human about even
- 28:01Speaker 1: the droids. There's they've been with us since you were three.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I don't know a world without Star Wars. Sometimes these
- 28:07Speaker 1: characters are real to because they believe in the line
- 28:09Speaker 1: and think, especially when we get into like those good
- 28:10Speaker 1: debates about them. Well, the great thing about them is
- 28:13Speaker 1: that they're like the teddy bears of this galaxy. You
- 28:17Speaker 1: can say wookies, you can say e walks, you could
- 28:19Speaker 1: say all of that stuff, but you didn't want to
- 28:21Speaker 1: snuggle up with Chewbacca because he was too scary, you
- 28:24Speaker 1: know what I mean. And so when pictures would arrived
- 28:26Speaker 1: as a youth, when you're a kid, if pictures came
- 28:29Speaker 1: and Chewbacca was there, I've seen it with my own eyes.
- 28:31Speaker 1: My kids obaka. You know it's they're not really excited
- 28:35Speaker 1: to see him, you know what I mean. He's a
- 28:37Speaker 1: he's a very handsome wookie. However you want to look
- 28:40Speaker 1: at it, but they're not excited to see him. They
- 28:42Speaker 1: know he's a hero, but they're not excited to see him.
- 28:45Speaker 1: When Darth Mader walks and you want to talk about
- 28:47Speaker 1: being scared, that's not the first thing a kid runs to,
- 28:50Speaker 1: you know when they see that's the evil character in
- 28:53Speaker 1: the whole situation. But the droid and the other droid,
- 28:59Speaker 1: the Laurel and Hardy, the Abbott and Costello, the however
- 29:05Speaker 1: you want to look at it, the round and the
- 29:08Speaker 1: long skin, however it's looked at, however it's looked that
- 29:11Speaker 1: in folklore or in mythology, whatever they represent. When that
- 29:16Speaker 1: comes in as a kid, it served a purpose perfectly.
- 29:20Speaker 1: That's why Droids is so loved, you know what I mean.
- 29:23Speaker 1: You talked about wanting to take your cell phone out
- 29:25Speaker 1: the minute are too walked in. It would have been
- 29:27Speaker 1: the same thing with three po also, because those are
- 29:29Speaker 1: the characters in Star Wars that you feel safe with
- 29:32Speaker 1: from the beginning of it all and what they represent.
- 29:35Speaker 1: And it also Are two is the one that helps
- 29:38Speaker 1: save the day the young. The unsung hero is are two.
- 29:42Speaker 1: The unsung hero is three p O three PO stumbles
- 29:45Speaker 1: into being a hero accidentally. He doesn't know how important
- 29:48Speaker 1: he is throughout this whole thing. He had no idea
- 29:52Speaker 1: how important he is, you know. But they're the unsung heroes,
- 29:55Speaker 1: and they're not gonna hurt you. It's against three pos programming,
- 29:59Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It's only right that you
- 30:02Speaker 1: run towards these these characters. They're the plushies of the
- 30:06Speaker 1: Star Wars universe. They're definitely the little buddies. If you
- 30:10Speaker 1: look at like, you know, all of your classic Disney stories,
- 30:12Speaker 1: there's always like some type of pet or animal friend
- 30:15Speaker 1: running alongside your princesses. Alongside our princesses and princes we
- 30:20Speaker 1: have droids, and especially we don't have trying to get
- 30:23Speaker 1: into it today. But once we start looking at their roles,
- 30:26Speaker 1: specifically in the Clone Wars more acutely, you start to
- 30:29Speaker 1: see how the writers and the Star Wars story group
- 30:32Speaker 1: have really looked at those characters the sort of the
- 30:35Speaker 1: minorities of that universe and are often in the servant too,
- 30:38Speaker 1: positions often disregarded as not being important, to essential or
- 30:43Speaker 1: simply tools. And yet and yet they are not just
- 30:46Speaker 1: the history. They are also you know, helping our fighters
- 30:50Speaker 1: get as they're flying their planes fly better, they're helping
- 30:54Speaker 1: us shoot better. They're secretly getting the most important vital
- 30:57Speaker 1: information to the war outside of enemy lines. Like, yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 1: droids are everything to me. I don't think they get
- 31:03Speaker 1: enough respect, uh, And I think we have to definitely
- 31:06Speaker 1: add that to our potential episodes is put some respect
- 31:10Speaker 1: on droids names, put some respect on their names. Because
- 31:15Speaker 1: even b B eight man like b B eight when
- 31:18Speaker 1: they roll BB eight out now, and I guarantee you
- 31:20Speaker 1: you've never seen anybody use a bunch of adults go
- 31:24Speaker 1: nuts when not only is it because b B eight,
- 31:27Speaker 1: it's like, wow, how does that work? You know what
- 31:29Speaker 1: I mean? How does the thing well? How does the
- 31:30Speaker 1: ball stay on top of the head and the underneath
- 31:33Speaker 1: and how does its back? That stuff is amazing in itself,
- 31:36Speaker 1: But there's something so amazing about that droid when it
- 31:39Speaker 1: rolls out. When I don't know BB it's a boy
- 31:42Speaker 1: or a girl, but when he or she rolls out,
- 31:46Speaker 1: it's magical. Yeah, it's magical. So for you, I want
- 31:51Speaker 1: to scratch his belly. He doesn't have a belly. I
- 31:54Speaker 1: don't even I even know if he feels that. Can
- 31:57Speaker 1: I scratch your ear? How do we hug and embrace
- 32:00Speaker 1: so cute? Cannot play with your antenna? You know what
- 32:03Speaker 1: I mean? It's like what the oh man? So, guys,
- 32:08Speaker 1: when we do the shows, what our plan is. Our
- 32:10Speaker 1: goal is to bring you guys like a ton of
- 32:13Speaker 1: really cool people from inside the Star Wars universe. So
- 32:16Speaker 1: we're talking character designers, novel writers, graphic artists, people designing merchandise,
- 32:22Speaker 1: the guys that build the lightsabers, directors. We're also gonna
- 32:26Speaker 1: try to bring you guys talent, so you know, some
- 32:29Speaker 1: of Donald's friends who have been these lifelong, like hardcore
- 32:33Speaker 1: Star Wars fans. I'll bring in some of my friends
- 32:35Speaker 1: who are writers for like star Wars dot Com or
- 32:37Speaker 1: have written some of the novels, and we'll be doing
- 32:39Speaker 1: interviews with them. But we also want to include you, guys,
- 32:42Speaker 1: because we love the fans. We love talking to the fans.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I've already told you the fandom is why I got in. Donald,
- 32:47Speaker 1: actual member of the Star Wars canon universe, loves the
- 32:51Speaker 1: fans loves talking to you guys. So we're gonna let
- 32:53Speaker 1: you guys send us questions, will be interacting with you.
- 32:56Speaker 1: And so for today, since it's just me and Donald
- 32:58Speaker 1: here talking about Star Wars, if you wanted to let
- 33:00Speaker 1: you guys get a chance to know us as fans.
- 33:03Speaker 1: So I put together some questions, Thald and I I
- 33:05Speaker 1: like your I like your questions. This is something that
- 33:08Speaker 1: could be like every cast that we do, podcasts that
- 33:12Speaker 1: we do cast so pretentious, just could be something like
- 33:16Speaker 1: every cast that we know everything, every podcast that we do. Okay,
- 33:21Speaker 1: top ten, straight up something. Let me go, and we've
- 33:25Speaker 1: got We've got our editor justin in the wings. He's
- 33:27Speaker 1: gonna be here helping us. You know, batchag. You know,
- 33:31Speaker 1: I forget a lot of things. Uh, full disclosure. He's
- 33:33Speaker 1: my brother. He's gonna be helping me keep it in
- 33:36Speaker 1: the family. I'm here to knock her. I'm gonna knock
- 33:39Speaker 1: her down a peg or two every time he does.
- 33:44Speaker 1: All right, let's go. So our very first question, which
- 33:47Speaker 1: I think is vital and of most importance too many fans,
- 33:50Speaker 1: is how would you rank your core nine Star Wars films?
- 33:54Speaker 1: All right, here we go. Your number one, my number one.
- 33:57Speaker 1: You go first. It's Empire Strikes, Empire strikes back from
- 34:01Speaker 1: me as well. It can be nothing else. It's Irvin Kirschner.
- 34:04Speaker 1: He killed it. All of the greatest drama, the best
- 34:07Speaker 1: of the romances. You get the introduction of the greatest uh,
- 34:13Speaker 1: the greatest Star Wars character ever. Lando cal Risson is
- 34:16Speaker 1: interesting in the Empire Strikes. A black man enters with swagger,
- 34:23Speaker 1: but not only swagger. That dude enters and he owns
- 34:27Speaker 1: a city. He does, and it's a Cloud City. It's
- 34:32Speaker 1: a gorgeous city. Okay, it's not a slum. It's not
- 34:34Speaker 1: New York the seventies. It's it's bright and shiny. It's
- 34:37Speaker 1: gorgeous sunlight. He got it on debt. He even got security. Dude,
- 34:42Speaker 1: your view is ridiculous in Cloud City until the Empire
- 34:47Speaker 1: comes in and then everything goes to crap. But before that,
- 34:50Speaker 1: three sixty windows, y'all, sunlight in every room. It's gorgeous. Also,
- 34:55Speaker 1: you know, we're gutting animals and living inside them. It's
- 34:57Speaker 1: got literally everything you can want from a movie. It's perfect.
- 35:00Speaker 1: The fact that Han solo to save Luke Skywalker's life
- 35:04Speaker 1: slices open his dead ton Ton and stuffs his best
- 35:10Speaker 1: friend inside of it. It's also a great testament of
- 35:14Speaker 1: friendship in this movie. This young rogue who cares about
- 35:21Speaker 1: no one but himself, willing to sacrifice his life multiple
- 35:26Speaker 1: times for his friends. And I'm not even talking about
- 35:30Speaker 1: the hero of the story. I'm talking about the freaking
- 35:34Speaker 1: sidekick kind of bro bro bro, and we get the
- 35:37Speaker 1: best romance line ever, I love you, I know, and
- 35:41Speaker 1: out like a badass. Oh god, Literally every moment of it,
- 35:45Speaker 1: it's just sheer like excitement and joy. It's so good.
- 35:50Speaker 1: The only way that moment could have been better is
- 35:52Speaker 1: if Han Solo goes I know, and then out of
- 35:54Speaker 1: nowhere kicks butt, like just out of it. He's like
- 36:01Speaker 1: and destroys the Empire right then and there. That's the
- 36:04Speaker 1: only way that Lan could like he was toying with Vader, No,
- 36:07Speaker 1: that would have sucked. He just turns up James Bond
- 36:10Speaker 1: like ready to go. Yeah, this sacrifice was perfect and
- 36:18Speaker 1: it's wonderful. It's the best reveal ever in the history
- 36:21Speaker 1: of cinema, ever, truly, just real, real quick. Empire easily
- 36:25Speaker 1: has the best poster of all of the movies. It's
- 36:30Speaker 1: easily the best hands that I just wanna, you know,
- 36:33Speaker 1: give a shout out to Roger Castle on that one,
- 36:35Speaker 1: because it's also different from all the other ones, and
- 36:38Speaker 1: it's got that classic field. It's one of those things
- 36:40Speaker 1: where it appeals to you in a way that as
- 36:43Speaker 1: soon as you see it, you're like, oh, I'm locked in.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I'm ready to see what this ass to tell me.
- 36:47Speaker 1: You know what that poster reminds me of because of
- 36:49Speaker 1: Han Solo dipping Princess Leia and it gone with the wind.
- 36:53Speaker 1: That's what it's meant to Actually, it was inspired by that.
- 36:58Speaker 1: He meant to have Han Solo simple Clark Gable, Absolutely,
- 37:02Speaker 1: that is amazing, wonderful. Okay, let's move on to our
- 37:07Speaker 1: number choose, which I think is where we're going to
- 37:09Speaker 1: start to diverge a bit. So my number two from
- 37:13Speaker 1: the Core nine it's the Last Jedi, which I know
- 37:16Speaker 1: we diverge. Holy On. We have very different opinions about
- 37:21Speaker 1: these movies. But for me, Donald, okay, viewers, how do
- 37:25Speaker 1: I describe? It's like a freshm new teacher. It's a
- 37:27Speaker 1: teacher who loves you and wants better for you. It
- 37:29Speaker 1: doesn't understand the choices that you've made. Like I want
- 37:32Speaker 1: to give you an egg. I disagree all hardly every reason.
- 37:39Speaker 1: One of my favorite characters, Admiral She is beauty, she
- 37:43Speaker 1: is grace. She would punch you in the face. I
- 37:46Speaker 1: love everything about her, from her lilac hair to the
- 37:48Speaker 1: fact that she wears gorgeous gowns with which to direct
- 37:52Speaker 1: her navy. She's iconic. While I'm not a huge fan
- 37:55Speaker 1: of many of the romances in here, I think our
- 37:59Speaker 1: development in too a lot of the city structures is
- 38:02Speaker 1: exactly what the Star Wars universe has needed. It takes
- 38:04Speaker 1: absolute cues from what was being done in the Clone
- 38:06Speaker 1: Wars animated series, which a lot of those elements I
- 38:09Speaker 1: felt needed to be put into the cinematic universe in
- 38:11Speaker 1: order to bring fans into a new world. And Ryan
- 38:14Speaker 1: did that. He took us onto the city streets. He
- 38:16Speaker 1: showed us what the Jedi mean to the normal people,
- 38:19Speaker 1: to the average stable boy. He showed us why a
- 38:24Speaker 1: lot of these past tropes were very male centered films,
- 38:28Speaker 1: which listen, I love many of the Star Wars zones
- 38:31Speaker 1: where there are so many dudes and so few women,
- 38:34Speaker 1: and showing what female leadership can do and how it
- 38:36Speaker 1: can change the course of a war. He showed that
- 38:39Speaker 1: Leia had Jedi powers. Okay, she was one with the Force.
- 38:43Speaker 1: I don't like Lea with the lightsaber. I don't think
- 38:45Speaker 1: that's how she would use her Force powers. But I
- 38:47Speaker 1: do like Laya being able to access and tap into
- 38:50Speaker 1: the Force and we get it for the first time
- 38:51Speaker 1: in the Last Jedi. For me, there's so much to enjoy,
- 38:55Speaker 1: and the Red Room fight, which again I will go
- 38:57Speaker 1: toe to tell. I know a lot of people don't
- 38:58Speaker 1: like the choreography of that fight scene, but for me,
- 39:00Speaker 1: it's all about cinema and art. It looks like an
- 39:03Speaker 1: oil painting. I would watch it a thousand times over.
- 39:06Speaker 1: You can think millions of songs to it. Would just
- 39:09Speaker 1: light up your heart with joy and fire. I love
- 39:12Speaker 1: this movie so good. That's you're right. That is where
- 39:16Speaker 1: we disagree, because I do not agree that it is
- 39:18Speaker 1: the number two movie in the Star Wars rankings. In
- 39:25Speaker 1: my opinion, it's a new hope, I think because of
- 39:28Speaker 1: what it not only as far as how it changed
- 39:31Speaker 1: how people looked at sci fi and how it could
- 39:35Speaker 1: be fantasy and not hokey fantasy. It also changed how
- 39:41Speaker 1: people looked at blockbusters and what a blockbuster was and
- 39:45Speaker 1: and how people looked at movie making and what was possible,
- 39:49Speaker 1: and it opened up everybody's eyes to something completely different.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Before a New Hope happened, sci fi movies were looked
- 39:58Speaker 1: at as genre flick that sucked, and you know, there
- 40:02Speaker 1: was a really tiny audience for people to go see it.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I think the biggest one was like two thousand and one.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I think that was the biggest blockbuster as far as
- 40:11Speaker 1: sci fi movies go. And then years later, here comes
- 40:17Speaker 1: a new hope, star Wars. Here comes Star Wars, and
- 40:20Speaker 1: it broke all box office records one two. It introduced
- 40:24Speaker 1: us to the characters that set this whole thing off
- 40:28Speaker 1: that you know, we all love. It's probably the only
- 40:32Speaker 1: one in this whole thing that I could honestly say,
- 40:36Speaker 1: the Empire Strikes Back is better than you know, uh,
- 40:40Speaker 1: it's the only one I can honestly say that about
- 40:43Speaker 1: all the other ones. If you put a New Hope
- 40:44Speaker 1: against it, I can show you why a New Hope
- 40:47Speaker 1: is better than each and every one of those. Whether
- 40:51Speaker 1: it be nostalgia, whether it be storytelling, you know that
- 40:55Speaker 1: that's a perfect Once upon a time, there was a
- 40:58Speaker 1: farm boy who remp to big adventures and he got
- 41:03Speaker 1: his wish and at the end of it all, he
- 41:05Speaker 1: saved the day and lived happily ever after. That could
- 41:08Speaker 1: have been Star Wars right there at the end of
- 41:09Speaker 1: the movie. It could have been that's it and that's
- 41:12Speaker 1: all you need, and everybody would have walked away like
- 41:15Speaker 1: that was one of the best movies I've ever seen.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Oh my god, listen, from technological advancements to break out
- 41:22Speaker 1: performances that defined careers to aerial battles we hadn't seen
- 41:27Speaker 1: in films for like decades at this point, Like it
- 41:31Speaker 1: brought back a lot of core cinema values that I
- 41:34Speaker 1: think we're getting lost, particularly as we look at the
- 41:36Speaker 1: studio system that was degrading in the seventies. Like there's
- 41:39Speaker 1: so much to love. Every department was on point, even
- 41:43Speaker 1: though if you watch some of the documentaries about making
- 41:46Speaker 1: of Star Wars, no one thought it was gonna work
- 41:48Speaker 1: except George. It was just George and his love of
- 41:51Speaker 1: this idea he had and pushing for it to make
- 41:53Speaker 1: it work, and he did it. It was great, And
- 41:55Speaker 1: that's why it's my number three choice that we're not
- 41:57Speaker 1: too far off Star Wars and New Hope is it'sn't
- 42:00Speaker 1: just an excellent film. You can watch it a million
- 42:03Speaker 1: times and still get so much to value and love
- 42:05Speaker 1: out of it. I mean when you look at it now.
- 42:07Speaker 1: Also cinematography wise, it's beautiful. I mean, of course he's
- 42:11Speaker 1: gone in and he's changed a couple of things, but
- 42:13Speaker 1: just angles and the wipes and the dissolves and the
- 42:18Speaker 1: you know, everything you get lost in it, and it's
- 42:21Speaker 1: it's it's the way he captured you know, the coming
- 42:26Speaker 1: of age story in a galaxy far far away is
- 42:30Speaker 1: incredible and that has to be that has to be commended.
- 42:34Speaker 1: And I have to give it my number two. You
- 42:36Speaker 1: give it your number three. My number three, however, is
- 42:38Speaker 1: Return of the Jedi. Return of the Jedi is uh wow. Um.
- 42:46Speaker 1: That was closure for me when I was a kid.
- 42:50Speaker 1: That was it. That was the That was all I needed.
- 42:53Speaker 1: You know, I knew Luke Skywalker did it. He redeemed
- 42:56Speaker 1: his father, He helped redeem his father. Not only did
- 42:59Speaker 1: he can goold Darth Vader, but he conquered Darth Vaders master,
- 43:03Speaker 1: you know. And the one thing I loved about it
- 43:07Speaker 1: more than anything was the space battle. You got a
- 43:13Speaker 1: taste of it in the Empire strikes back when the
- 43:15Speaker 1: Millennium Falcon is going through the asteroid field and everything
- 43:18Speaker 1: like that. But now we're watching, like when the Rebel
- 43:21Speaker 1: Alliance jumps into hyperspace for the first time in front
- 43:25Speaker 1: of everybody, and you just see boom boom boom boom
- 43:28Speaker 1: boom boom. As a kid, that was the dopest thing
- 43:33Speaker 1: I had ever seen in my life. Right, and then
- 43:35Speaker 1: when they cut, not only that, the introduction into it
- 43:39Speaker 1: all like you knew there, okay, we're about to get
- 43:42Speaker 1: into something completely different. When the music changed, done done, done, done, done, done,
- 43:50Speaker 1: dune done, and you see the Millennium falk woop in
- 43:55Speaker 1: with the red with the A wings and the and
- 43:57Speaker 1: the X wings and they're dipping through all of the
- 44:01Speaker 1: capital ships of the Rebel Alliance, you know, Home one,
- 44:04Speaker 1: and they're passing the core vetts and everything, and they're
- 44:07Speaker 1: about to jump Admiral when we're in position and they're
- 44:10Speaker 1: about to jump into hyperspace. That right there alone better
- 44:16Speaker 1: the like if you look back at if you look
- 44:18Speaker 1: back at all of this stuff, like everything, it's a
- 44:22Speaker 1: it's a great way to look at how like how
- 44:25Speaker 1: far industrial light and magic had come. Also, yeah, in
- 44:28Speaker 1: the first one. You know that in the first movie
- 44:31Speaker 1: everything is really slow. In the second movie, it's just
- 44:36Speaker 1: so fast pace. There's they tell so much story in
- 44:39Speaker 1: such little time. It's so fast paced. In Return of
- 44:42Speaker 1: the Jedi, now they've set like they've gotten all of
- 44:46Speaker 1: this knowledge and they've thrown it up there and they're
- 44:48Speaker 1: just sitting back and watching it just like unfold on
- 44:51Speaker 1: its own. By the time they get to Return of
- 44:53Speaker 1: the Jedi, the special effects are telling the story beautifully,
- 44:57Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It's like it's helping move
- 44:59Speaker 1: the story along perfectly. And now you're not looking for
- 45:03Speaker 1: all of the things that don't make sense. You're caught up.
- 45:05Speaker 1: It's like I always say this about time travel movies.
- 45:07Speaker 1: You know what I mean, Time travel movies suck. If
- 45:10Speaker 1: I have to think about if I have to think
- 45:13Speaker 1: about theory, you missed the time travel movie. For me,
- 45:16Speaker 1: I don't want to think about any of that stuff.
- 45:18Speaker 1: I want to right, I want to get caught up
- 45:20Speaker 1: in the adventure of it all, you know what I mean.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I want to be I want to be in the
- 45:24Speaker 1: fantasy of it all, because really that's what it is.
- 45:27Speaker 1: And by the time they got to Return of the Jedi,
- 45:29Speaker 1: which is why it's my third favorite. Um bum. It's
- 45:33Speaker 1: like sailing. You just ride in the wind and it's
- 45:36Speaker 1: taking you there. You know what I mean. It's that's
- 45:38Speaker 1: TV when I go sailing. Oh man. So Return to
- 45:43Speaker 1: the Jedi is my number four. Like what I really
- 45:46Speaker 1: like about Return of the Jedi. It's for me again,
- 45:48Speaker 1: going back to loving fandoms as a whole. Return of
- 45:52Speaker 1: the Jedi establishes what a trilogy looks like like. It's
- 45:56Speaker 1: how all modern trilogies must go back to Return of
- 45:59Speaker 1: the Jedi and look at that art. What does that
- 46:01Speaker 1: hero's final journey look like? It is an ending piece
- 46:05Speaker 1: for one of the greatest trilogies of all time. Right,
- 46:07Speaker 1: We also get one of the most iconic costumes in
- 46:10Speaker 1: Star Wars universe. It's the latest costume. Feel how you
- 46:13Speaker 1: do about it, It's iconic. It's still slays at all
- 46:16Speaker 1: of the cons It's amazing and beautiful and like, it's awesome.
- 46:21Speaker 1: It really showed you the entirety of Princess Leia too, though,
- 46:26Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Not only a great thinker,
- 46:29Speaker 1: not only was she a great leader, Not only was
- 46:32Speaker 1: she a great mind and motivator of men and women,
- 46:38Speaker 1: but she could also freaking seduce the most vile gangsters
- 46:45Speaker 1: in the galaxy. Not only was she a tactical genius
- 46:52Speaker 1: on the battlefield, she was a tactical genius of the
- 46:57Speaker 1: male species. As it is if you think about the
- 47:01Speaker 1: Corey Three, Luke plays like the night Right. He's a
- 47:04Speaker 1: hero who's honorable but pure good, chaotic. Then you have
- 47:09Speaker 1: Han who's the road like Rapscallion, who's out here shooting
- 47:13Speaker 1: people and he's not sure what side he's gonna land.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Leah is a spy and it's awesome, and she uses
- 47:19Speaker 1: literally her chains oppression to suffocate her oppressor. It's so good.
- 47:25Speaker 1: And then later on Indur she's got the gun and
- 47:27Speaker 1: she's running around the woods like taking people out like
- 47:30Speaker 1: it is stunning to watch. Lee is like arc and
- 47:33Speaker 1: development and the fact that she gets to be a
- 47:35Speaker 1: real authentic person. And again, if we look at a
- 47:37Speaker 1: lot of early sci fi women are often strictly just
- 47:40Speaker 1: the sex objects, Leah had a full rounded, whole personality
- 47:44Speaker 1: and it's what made a lot of women endeared to
- 47:46Speaker 1: the Star Wars legacy. This movie also has a redemption
- 47:49Speaker 1: of Lando, who comes back and decides like on second thought,
- 47:52Speaker 1: I'll actually be a good person and say, my friends,
- 47:57Speaker 1: you know, Lando redeemed himself. I think when he rescued
- 48:00Speaker 1: Chewbacca and Princess Laya from Cloud City. I have this
- 48:04Speaker 1: argument all the time, and I think Billy D. Williams
- 48:06Speaker 1: would agree with this. What was he supposed to do?
- 48:12Speaker 1: And that's the situation, you know what I mean when
- 48:14Speaker 1: you really think about it. This is totally jumping off topic.
- 48:17Speaker 1: But in that situation, what was he supposed to do?
- 48:20Speaker 1: Was he how and then gets choked and then get
- 48:26Speaker 1: killed right there? And there, here's the thing, here's the thing.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Han Solo lands Lando has been instructed get him inside.
- 48:36Speaker 1: We're gonna catch his button. We got him. He's like,
- 48:39Speaker 1: all right, fine, He's already seen the Superstar Destroyer because
- 48:48Speaker 1: that's what Vada is rolling around and in this movie,
- 48:50Speaker 1: at this point, he's seen the fleet of Star Destroyers
- 48:55Speaker 1: at a company, the Superstar Destroyer. He knows about the
- 49:00Speaker 1: Death Star. He knows what the Death Star was. Not
- 49:04Speaker 1: only that, he knows Boba Fett. He's met Boba Fett before.
- 49:10Speaker 1: He knows Han Solo and Boba Fett got beef from
- 49:12Speaker 1: back in the day. He's caught off, He's imagine hanging
- 49:17Speaker 1: out and out of nowhere here comes Boba Fett and
- 49:19Speaker 1: here comes Darth Vader, two of the baddest villains ever. Ever,
- 49:24Speaker 1: what's he supposed to do? Say to Han Solo, Yo,
- 49:30Speaker 1: get out of here. Vader and Boba Fetta here and
- 49:33Speaker 1: they're gonna kill you as soon as you walk into
- 49:35Speaker 1: that door, as soon as as soon as right as
- 49:38Speaker 1: soon as the fucking lifts off. Ot to know. He's
- 49:45Speaker 1: choked out. And then he is bombarded with green lasers
- 49:48Speaker 1: from the Star Destroyers and is destroyed very much like Jeddah.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Without one laser, it's just a bombardment. So what was
- 49:59Speaker 1: he supposed to too? So the redemption for me was
- 50:02Speaker 1: when he was like, I'm gonna try and save Han Solo.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Not only am I going to do that, I'm going
- 50:06Speaker 1: to risk my life. So yeah, and it starts in
- 50:08Speaker 1: the Empire strikes back, But you're absolutely right. By the
- 50:11Speaker 1: time returning to Jedi comes at the end of that
- 50:13Speaker 1: whole job of sequence, Lando Calrissi and not only has
- 50:17Speaker 1: redeemed himself by saving his pal from back in the day,
- 50:21Speaker 1: but he is now a general. Look at him, he's
- 50:23Speaker 1: a general in the Rebel Alliance because of it, and
- 50:26Speaker 1: that goes on to lead the rebels against the Empire
- 50:29Speaker 1: and the Battle of Indoor and it's amazing, and it's
- 50:33Speaker 1: one of the best battles in the series. Not my favorite,
- 50:35Speaker 1: but one of the best. There's a better space battle
- 50:38Speaker 1: in the series than that space battle. I don't even
- 50:40Speaker 1: know if it's a space battle. Really, it's more of
- 50:42Speaker 1: a comedy sequence. But we'll get into that, because that's
- 50:46Speaker 1: that's not my next one, but we'll get into that.
- 50:48Speaker 1: So which is okay? Okay? So that was my number four?
- 50:50Speaker 1: Was the Return of the Jedi. What's yours? My number
- 50:53Speaker 1: four is The Force Awakens. Believe it or not. I
- 50:56Speaker 1: like how we're just one behind. That's my number five,
- 50:58Speaker 1: you know. I think The Force Awakens was the best
- 51:03Speaker 1: reintroduction into Star Wars. So it was it thirty years later?
- 51:08Speaker 1: Mm hmm. There were a lot of people who hadn't
- 51:12Speaker 1: seen the Clone Wars, who hadn't watched the Clone Wars.
- 51:15Speaker 1: There were a lot of people who hadn't watched the trilogies,
- 51:20Speaker 1: whether it be the prequels or the originals. It needed
- 51:26Speaker 1: an introduction and it needed to be something new. And
- 51:29Speaker 1: we needed to follow a different type of character, and
- 51:34Speaker 1: but it's still needed to feel like Star Wars, and
- 51:37Speaker 1: we needed to still be reminded of Star Wars from
- 51:40Speaker 1: the past. You know, you can't remake Star Trek and
- 51:45Speaker 1: not have the Enterprise in it, no matter what it is,
- 51:48Speaker 1: you know what I mean, It has to be some
- 51:50Speaker 1: star Fleet has to be introduced in some way. So
- 51:53Speaker 1: in some way these heroes of the past from the
- 51:57Speaker 1: original trilogy needed to be reintroduced. If not, they needed
- 52:01Speaker 1: to not be there, and they chose to put them
- 52:04Speaker 1: in the movie. The only way that works is if
- 52:06Speaker 1: they're long gone, like they're dead and gone in their
- 52:08Speaker 1: fossils and these people, you know, it's like the Egyptians.
- 52:12Speaker 1: That's the only way it works if you don't have
- 52:14Speaker 1: the original trilogy characters in The Force Awakens, and that's
- 52:19Speaker 1: to take place so far in the future that none
- 52:21Speaker 1: of this matters anymore, right, yeah, or you touch into
- 52:26Speaker 1: the nostalgia what we all grew up on. And so
- 52:29Speaker 1: The Force Awakens is that for me, and it rekindles
- 52:32Speaker 1: a storyline that body wonders about. And that's what happened
- 52:38Speaker 1: after Happily ever after um and in some places, and Mrs.
- 52:43Speaker 1: I think this is where I think a lot of
- 52:45Speaker 1: the flaws in Star Wars start to appear. In my opinion,
- 52:49Speaker 1: From this point on, I'll have a bunch of not
- 52:52Speaker 1: negative things to say, but things where I'm like, m
- 52:54Speaker 1: I don't understand why. Yeah, and see your point. I
- 52:59Speaker 1: agree that we needed new things in the series and
- 53:02Speaker 1: to me, not enough movie. To me, it feels like
- 53:05Speaker 1: a very safe movie, which, to be fair, I don't
- 53:07Speaker 1: know what else Disney was supposed to do going back
- 53:09Speaker 1: to your Land with it. I don't know what else
- 53:11Speaker 1: they were supposed to do. It's a huge franchise, obviously,
- 53:13Speaker 1: as you and I sit here talking and debating our opinion,
- 53:16Speaker 1: fans are fervent and and have very strong feelings about it.
- 53:20Speaker 1: It was their first for a into this universe. It's
- 53:23Speaker 1: a scary space to be I don't envy them that
- 53:26Speaker 1: position at all, But to me, it was just it
- 53:29Speaker 1: felt too much like all the things I had seen
- 53:31Speaker 1: happened before, and that bothered me a little bit. But
- 53:35Speaker 1: I did like a lot of the chemistry between some
- 53:36Speaker 1: of the new characters. I like that they had the
- 53:38Speaker 1: straight up balls to kill Han Solo that took guts. Okay,
- 53:42Speaker 1: I never ever thought we would lose Han Solo that
- 53:45Speaker 1: way in a movie, and yet it speaks so true
- 53:48Speaker 1: to who that character is, someone who isn't sure he cares,
- 53:51Speaker 1: but it's at the right moment, always willing to sacrifice.
- 53:54Speaker 1: That felt honestly, it's it's so much of I'm not
- 53:58Speaker 1: sure I like that, but this worked really well. It's
- 54:00Speaker 1: the way from me. It tears me straight down the middle.
- 54:02Speaker 1: I like ray Fin and Poe together. I liked Kilo
- 54:07Speaker 1: and his crazy anger. I liked the saber fight in
- 54:11Speaker 1: the forest. I love Mosquinada, and just this idea of
- 54:15Speaker 1: someone who is not all like Yoda. She's out here
- 54:17Speaker 1: running Cantina. She's not trying to raise no baby. She's
- 54:20Speaker 1: just like here, sword, go do your best. There's like
- 54:23Speaker 1: something about all of that energy that was great. But
- 54:26Speaker 1: then you know, Leah walks past Chewy, and I'm confused again.
- 54:30Speaker 1: There's a bunch of there's a bunch of things that
- 54:33Speaker 1: do not make sense. Right. Well, Leah walking past Chewy
- 54:39Speaker 1: at the end of the movie does not make sense.
- 54:41Speaker 1: She's not now. Granted she's seen them already before, but
- 54:45Speaker 1: Han Solo just died just now, all of this could
- 54:49Speaker 1: have made sense if later on stories connected and this
- 54:55Speaker 1: is These are reasons why I have problems with your
- 54:59Speaker 1: number two movie being the last Jedi serious. Anyway, let's
- 55:05Speaker 1: move on. I digress. So your fifth is The Force Awakens.
- 55:11Speaker 1: My fifth is Revenge of the Sith. Oh another divergence. Okay,
- 55:16Speaker 1: why I feel like That's when George Lucas finally figured out. Okay,
- 55:23Speaker 1: I have all of this capability now, and with this
- 55:26Speaker 1: capability comes great responsibility. How can I make this the
- 55:33Speaker 1: most epic of because I'm not gonna do this again.
- 55:36Speaker 1: I'm never gonna do this again. He was very clear
- 55:39Speaker 1: about that. But when this is done, I want everybody
- 55:43Speaker 1: to be like wow. Visually, it's one of the best
- 55:46Speaker 1: things I've ever seen. I am satisfied on why Darth
- 55:49Speaker 1: Vader became a sixth Lord. It seemed like nonsense in
- 55:55Speaker 1: the beginning. What is this journey that we're going on?
- 55:58Speaker 1: How is this? I know how the journey ends, but
- 56:01Speaker 1: how are we gonna get to this ending with everything
- 56:04Speaker 1: that he set forward? You know what I mean? Is
- 56:07Speaker 1: it gonna be jealousy? Because you know, is there a
- 56:11Speaker 1: twist coming? Is Luke Skywalker not really Anakin Skywalker's kid
- 56:17Speaker 1: is Luke Skywalker really Obi Like all of these things
- 56:20Speaker 1: are coming into play, you know what I mean. Like,
- 56:23Speaker 1: by the time you get to Revenge of the Sip,
- 56:25Speaker 1: you're like, Okay, we now see how powerful Anakin is.
- 56:30Speaker 1: We see how powerful Obi Wan Kenobi is as well,
- 56:34Speaker 1: and Anakin is just a little bit more powerful than that.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Anakin is so powerful that he defeats the Ultimate sets
- 56:42Speaker 1: Lord and Dooku. You know what I mean when you
- 56:44Speaker 1: look at Anakin at this point in your mind, if
- 56:47Speaker 1: you go and watch this movie as a Star Wars
- 56:50Speaker 1: fan and you know the Lord, this is what the
- 56:52Speaker 1: Emperor's like. If I get this kid, it's a rap
- 56:56Speaker 1: for everybody. I don't care if he wears a mask.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I don't care if they see it's face. I don't
- 57:00Speaker 1: care if they look at him and they're like, he's
- 57:02Speaker 1: the most handsome kid on the planet when they see
- 57:04Speaker 1: him his ability and what he's done in the Clone Wars.
- 57:08Speaker 1: If I have this kid by my side, it's a
- 57:11Speaker 1: wrap for everybody. No one can stop me. No one
- 57:14Speaker 1: can stop me. I can even be like, yo, you
- 57:16Speaker 1: know what, Anakin, you pretend like you rule the galaxy
- 57:21Speaker 1: I'll sit back just as the Emperor as he does always,
- 57:25Speaker 1: and I'll let you do that. Yeah, yeah, but I
- 57:30Speaker 1: don't know as he does always, events take place to
- 57:33Speaker 1: where Okay, now the Emperor has to be a little
- 57:35Speaker 1: bit more. Okay, now I need to have target. But
- 57:39Speaker 1: he puts people out there and protects himself. That's how
- 57:43Speaker 1: when we get to episode nine, he's able to just
- 57:46Speaker 1: reamergs like he's always in the background, allowing other people
- 57:50Speaker 1: to take charge and be the focal point for him.
- 57:55Speaker 1: That that was our that was our long list. Yes,
- 57:59Speaker 1: we're probably never got to talk about it again. So
- 58:01Speaker 1: that's why it took so long. There's so much to
- 58:04Speaker 1: explore in Star Wars. Will be looking more specifically at
- 58:07Speaker 1: certain things, specific fights, a particular lightsaber. We're gonna go
- 58:11Speaker 1: really into the finite details of specific items and stories
- 58:15Speaker 1: and characters. We should also tell the films. Feel free
- 58:18Speaker 1: to send in your core nine on our instagrams or
- 58:22Speaker 1: on our twitters flooded, flooded, let us know that you're listening,
- 58:26Speaker 1: let us know your opinions on your nine, your favorite
- 58:30Speaker 1: nine in your order. If any of you say the
- 58:32Speaker 1: Rids of Skywalker first, you don't qualify. I'm just joking, King,
- 58:38Speaker 1: I'm just joking. I'm just we We love all fans
- 58:42Speaker 1: and all fandoms, and if you like something we don't like,
- 58:45Speaker 1: it's not a judgment against you. You can like whatever
- 58:48Speaker 1: part of Star Wars you like. You can't like that
- 58:50Speaker 1: ship I don't enjoy. That's okay, you know, we we
- 58:53Speaker 1: just ship. Don't you enjoy. Listen, we'll get into it later.
- 58:57Speaker 1: I don't. I don't started out. Let's start. You know,
- 59:02Speaker 1: the ben Kenobi situation. It doesn't store my Louis with
- 59:08Speaker 1: other people's. I I just Kylo and Ray and then
- 59:12Speaker 1: the Force wheeling who cares over it very quickly. You
- 59:18Speaker 1: know how I wanted it to go. I wanted it
- 59:20Speaker 1: to be John Boyega and Ray and everything everybody did.
- 59:24Speaker 1: And Kylo gets jealous because John Boyega, the defected Stormtrooper,
- 59:30Speaker 1: gets the prize that he wants a girl with the
- 59:32Speaker 1: powers and he can't take it, and that just fuels
- 59:38Speaker 1: and fuels and fuels his rage because they have such connections.
- 59:43Speaker 1: There were a diet in the Force. They've got powers together,
- 59:47Speaker 1: but this one freaking Stormtrooper keeps getting in the way.
- 59:52Speaker 1: You know, as a queer Lady Poe and Finn was
- 59:55Speaker 1: absolutely end game and you know, whatever happened, but it's
- 59:58Speaker 1: you know, it's it's n they you know, d in
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: the Rose of Skywalkome by giving you a kiss from
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: two women at the end of the movie. But Poet
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Finn would have been a great that would have been awesome.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Oh God, if they're the way, they would have just
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: leaned into it a little bit, Yeah, just a little bit,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: John freaking Oscar. They leaned into it in the press, junkets.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Why could you just lean into it in the movie?
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: They wanted it, They tried, They lobbied those boys and
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: everything they could to make our dreams come true. And
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: you know what, that's why we have fan fiction. Okay,
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: you can send your favorite and Finn fan fiction to me.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I am Joel Monique. On Instagram there's an underscore between
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: those things. Or on Twitter, it's just Joel Monique. It's
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: j O E L L E M O N I
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: q U E. That'll where can the folks find you
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: on the socials? Well, I don't want you to send
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: me your favorite Poe and anything. I don't want your porn.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: Don't send me a porn. All the graphic photos, paintings.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Oh my god, never let sleep. You should have done
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: here we go, we go. Oh, you can find me
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: a Donald underscore aison on Instagram and on Twitter, Donald
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: Underscore Phason just put it out there. Perfect. Okay, let's
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: give us some of these questions. Who is your favorite
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Batty in the Star Wars universe? Data is pretty great.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: I have an affinity for the Night Sisters. They are
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: deep cut. Yeah, yeah, yeah, They're like the female version
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: of Malls people. They are witches who use the force,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: and that's all you really need to know. Are they
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: the female version of Malls people? Or did they enslave
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Malls people? Are most people like they're because they're the
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: leaders of that planet, that group, and the men are
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: some thing else. If I do recall in the Clone
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Wars when we meet a Savage he is a bloodline
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: of Mall But isn't necessary like I don't know, I
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: don't know, but it's a little bit not clear. Fans,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: if you guys want to call in on this, this
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: is something that I well, I do welcome. We can
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: have this conversation all day and every day. What is
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: the association between the Night Sisters of Datha Mere and
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: what's malls uh zob rock right, yeah, right, So he's
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: definitely different from dartha Mere Night Sister. So, fans, if
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: you want to get involved, it'd be great if we
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: could reach out to the owners of the Star Wars,
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: but they ain't down with this like that yet, so
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: we gotta get we gotta get them involved in a
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: way to get them involved, to get the fans involved.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: And so fans, you know, if you know anything on this,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: because I don't feel like going up on the Wikipedia Wikipedia. Yeah,
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: you can right in get involved, be involved. So you
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: said the Night Sisters, that's your favorite. Yeah, they're great.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Our next question is favorite lightsaber duel Empire Strikes Back.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: Oh oh, it's a good one. Oh man, I think
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: my favorite listen Grievous Fighting Obi one is so much fun.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: It's just a fun battle to watch. It's not necessarily
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: technically the greatest, it's not necessarily the most important battle
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: that we see, but damn it. They're flying on lizards,
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: leaping down and they're twirling and then they're on a
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: train and it's just it's a fun battle to watch.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: My favorite is the darkest battle of them all, and
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: that's the Empire strikes back. I think that's out of
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: all of them. That's the scariest lightsaber fight in the
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Star Wars juniverse. I can go dark cuts two and
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: say that the mall Obi one final battle in Rebels
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: is pretty spectacular. It's fast, it's fast, but it's the
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: first and maybe the only see redeweal we see that's
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: done in the style of the Samurai, and that alone
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: makes it pretty dope. Right on. But if you haven't
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: seen the Clone Wars, or if you haven't seen Rebels,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna say the scariest fight I've ever seen in
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: my life, as you use, we're seeing Vader taunt Luke
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Skywalker in the underbellies of Cloud City. Yes, yeah, it was.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: It was. It still gives me excited today. And it's
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: like bones hilling. What was your favorite series outside of
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: the films, And that can be TV, comic books, novels,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: video games. It's the one that's on now, The Mandalorian.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Such a great obviously minus Clone Wars. Oh wow, you wow.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: Do you know what? I like the Clone Wars too?
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I take that cheese. It's that's tough. I like the Mandalorian.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: I like the Clone Wars. I liked Rebels, I liked Resistance.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: I like them all. Listen, they all have a little something.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: They're all special. But Clone Waris gave us Asoka, and
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Asoka was my way into loving Star Wars on a
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: personal level. It made it very personal to me when
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: people are like, we don't make a Solas, like, I
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: will fight you. You know what I'm gonna say, I'm
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: gonna change mind to the Clone Wars. Also because I'm
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: watching the Mandalorian in hopes that Ahsoka shows up. So yeah, Donald,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: that's what I like to hear. Oh my gosh, but
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: that beings that Mandalorian is great. Uh. If you can
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: go to any planet in the Star Wars Solar System space,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: where would you go for a vacation? Vacation? Yeah, they
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: blew it up? Which one? They blew up a lot
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: of stuff. Well, they blew it up in Rogue one.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: They're buddy. It's gorgeous, white sand beaches, palm trees. You're
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: luxuriating on vacation. I see. I would love to be there.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: It just seems like it's water as far as the
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: eye can see. The dation. The sea life is probably delicious.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: You know what? I mean it's probably decadent, you know
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: what I mean. You're probably getting pearls and all of
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: that stuff to leave it, know what I mean? Swimming
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: with swimming with aquatic like mermaids and stuff like that.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: You know that, you know they messed up the ecosystem
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: when they started building all of that stuff. I don't care. Yeah,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I don't care. Oh man, I am a nerd on vacation.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: I want to learn some things. And I'm also a
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: person who like if Disney was like, what Star Wars
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: movie should we make tomorrow? Like anything with the dark side?
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Please give me a dark side of this is what
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: I love. I want to go to Mustafar. You want
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: to You don't want to survive the vacation. You just
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: want to be like the last thing I want to
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: see on the erupting hills of Mustafar. Listen, It's like
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: going to frands of visiting the catacombs. You can go
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: underground and see the Sith Temple. You can see the
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: spot where Vader was born. Like it's a historically like
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: rich space, and I just feel it would be really
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: cool to go butt The door gets open like maybe
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: two inches before you're like, no, no, I'm good. I'm good.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: That's no way. Okay, guys, I think I really do
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: think it would be great, But I hear you. Our
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: next question in a battle royal bracket, which droid makes
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: it to the end. So, if all the droids from
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: Star Wars are duking it out, who's superior in fight style?
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna go k to s O. He's got the
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: height and the reach on all of them. Are two
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: can fly projected arm up and slammed him to the guy.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: What ha happened to the last droid that tried to
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: grab our two? He got set on fire, turned to Bacon.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I didn't know metal could turn to bacon. I didn't
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: know metal could crisp like bacon. Apparently Are two got
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: that sauce, and when he praised that sauce on you
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: and sets it on fire, Metal turns to Bacon. I'd
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: really like to see in our two versus Chopper fight.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I feel like that is where my big money is
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: coming in. And I'm gonna be honest, I'm putting my
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: money on Chopper. I love mart two down, but Chopper
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: is a murder bot. He kills frequently and without remorse,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: and I just feel like he would take everybody down.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: I really do think you be Chopper and Kso in
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: the final battle and keep us would watch I leving
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: coming and just self destructed everything every time, every time? Right? Oh,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: a pretty tope robot, don't He is designed to assassinate
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: All of the droids that we've named are pretty dope, doesn't.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: I mean, even the one through solo. Yeah? Yeah, it
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: L three, L three three seven even she even out
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: three man like L three is the falcon, you know
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: what I mean? Like that's true, and it makes so
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: much sense to why the ship is so temperamental and
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: why do you know what I mean? And the nav
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: computer all of these things. Man, And she's voiced by
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: the baddest Phoebe waller Bridge, so you know, I get
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I get it. It It would be it would be a
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: showdown for the centuries. Disney. That's an idea you can
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: have for free. Break it up, all of the troys
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: and let's watch it go down. If you could choose
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: a squadron of pilots, I'm gonna say, for Max, which
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: pilots from the Star Wars universe would you choose? Well
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: wed g Entillies, Yeah, of course, po Dameron. Okay, I
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: mean nobody's I'd never heard of light speed skipping in
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: my life until po Dameron. So you know what, that
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: is absolutely fair on Solo Okay, Anakin Skywalker, Okay, that's
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: a good list. That's great. I would say Harrah, you know,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: because she survived all of the battle. I would say Harro.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: But I don't know, man, she always has a crew.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: I don't know, man, I don't know, man. I want
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: to I want to throw her in there. So difficult
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: because I want to throw Lando in there. Also, like
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: this is all for you can't do or like, let's
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: do that's not even a squadron when you really think,
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: I don't know too many Donalds. Okay, so let's take
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Poe out. Okay, well do wedge Anakin Haarrah? It's well,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: I mean, because how do you not say Han solo
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: and how do you not say Lando Calrissian and how
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: do you not say Chewbacca like the three of them
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: should all be and nine Nub also like those four
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: flying a piece of junk pretty much more Lando and
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: nine Nub when they're going in the belly of a
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: death Star in a transport, not even in a freaking
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: fighter in a transport. Yeah, I don't know, man, that's
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: a tough one. This is gonna take forever. Okay, I'll
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: give you, I'll give you. You're gonna question them all
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: watch Yeah, sure again. She sho my main. She's my
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: bottom and I love her and keep her close to
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: be Rod and Ro. Holdo is the best pilot in
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: the galaxy. Do hold she went to my speed into
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: a into a hard destroyed. It's hard to Christoph flee.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: It's hard to miss a flee. Hey, y'all are hilarious.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Be if you again read the books. Okay, you're alienating
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: a whole bunch of people, right, I don't care. It's
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: my squadron. There are few people that have read The
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Princess of alder On. Whatever the name of the which
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: you should absolutely pick up. It's a masterpiece of a
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: book and informs you on one of the greatest characters
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: in Star Wars and introduces you to one of my
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: favorite characters, Holdo, who was part of my squadron. Thing,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: who is the best pilot in the galaxy best. I said,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: she's coming into my bottom, my main, and I love her.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna take po sure, because he's funny, and I
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: feel like he holiday would have good conversations. He's a
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: good distracter. I like it a lot. I'm gonna take
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: Luke Loo's good with the Fourtin knows he's doing. And
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: I'm also gonna take Hara, Yeah, because she's gonna keep
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: all these bitches in line. Do you think all of
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: them are better than Anakin? No? But who do I
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: want in my school? I don't Anakin in anything. Okay,
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: he's self centered. He's like gonna, He's not gonna listen
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: to anybody's order. He's like MJ in the fight. He's
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: like MJ's If you're gonna look at this in like
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: basketball terms, he's the m J of it all. In
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Lucas Kobe, sure, but I want people who are team
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: players in my squadron. I want to I want to
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: win the second I don't want to win. I feel
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: like y'all miss the one. I feel like you'all miss
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: the one. To someone who learned from both Anakin, Skywalker
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: and Luke and Ahsoka are two D two, He's got
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: to be one of the best. Absolutely, he gotta be.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: If not the best, he's gotta be one of the best. Well,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: you know what. Here's the thing that you can always
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: say about are two. He can get you to the door,
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: he never gets you in you know what I mean?
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: Are two got looked to the point to where he
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: could line up and fire that shot, but then would happened.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: Artwo gets blasted and Luke has to do go the
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: rest of the way without his droid. I think that's
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: why they compliment each other because in Clone Wars, Mace
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Windew and Anakin are trapped under debris when they're getting
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: hunted down by Boba Fett. He bounces out, yeah, and
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: and it's say, I'm just saying a pinch. I'm not
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: saying he's my top, but I'm saying he's gonna be
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: in there because he can. There's been a number of
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: times where Anakin has been unconscious behind that behind that
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: wheel and no doubt, no doubt. Uh. And same thing
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: with Luke, you know, autopilot to get to Daga, but
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: all of that stuff. Um also another moment are two
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: gets This is why ar two so dope. He'll get
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: you to the door. This is the most literal sense
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: of it all. In Return of the Jedi, he gets
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: to the door of the Shield generator and what happens,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: he gets blasted. Now it's up to them to figure
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: it out. So like are two to our two never
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: really solves the problem, but he gets you there. Uh,
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: and that's why he's so special. Guys would be in
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: here squadron, I really want to know. It's one of
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: those questions where we could go on literally forever, but
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: we do have a time amount of time we can
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: spend together today. So what ship would you be flying
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: in your squadron? Doesn't have to be a Starfighter, can
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: it be? Any ship? Could be any ship you desire. Oh, shoot, well,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: the Falcon, some type, some type of y t M.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna fly the Ghost because I only want to
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: do spy missions, right, some type of Karelian something. Yeah,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: I'm definitely gonna go the Ghost because good at getting
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: in and out of places quietly, and I would mostly
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: take quiet spy missions. I'm not a fighter. If you
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: could switch words robes with any character, who would you
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: switch with if I could wear their gear? Yeah, Con
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: Solo got the dope's gear. Everybody's no man dud war
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: trench coat in the forest. I didn't think it's over
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: because I think count Evil as he is has a
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: pretty sharp woardrobe. Right. Yeah, he was a rich he
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: was he was account he was account his account and
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: he was he was flying everywhere he went. But then
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: I remember Patney has hell of gowns, and I was like, well,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: obviously I'm taking Padney's worddrobe everything she wears his decadent
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: and the gorgeous she had that fly stuff. She was like,
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: she was like the cover of g Q for the Galaxy,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: whatever the ladies go to for their fashion. In Star Wars,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: she was the point I'll put it this way now,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Boo was the point of Yeah, that was the focal
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: point of fashion. If you ask me, yes, to be wrong,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: but you look at you talk at the chance the
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Chancellor which flies can be also and his sip garb.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: So they also had the best looking starships too. In
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: my opinion that in One starfid slick slick. Yeah, her
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: shuttle slick slick, absolutely chrome. She glides in. She's making
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: a statement everywhere she goes for your history. But she
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: is the Queen Victoria who made everybody wear white dresses
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: after she War one. Is that level? Is that level
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: is influential? Our final question? And I think probably the
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: most important the question I think Star Wars fans have
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: been asking themselves from get go, if you could pick
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: anyone to be your Jedi master, who would you choose.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: There's the easiest one out of all of them. I
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: want Mace Windu to be my master because he knew everything.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: He's predicted it all everybody. He told everybody what was
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: going on. I said, I sent a freaking I sent
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: the plot by the by the sith to to to
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: to freaking trick the Jedi. Nobody listened. Anakin's bad. I
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: don't trust him. I don't know he even said I
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: don't trust him. Oh man. I want the dude that
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: knew the truth. I want the guy to knew it
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: all and who and who had the purple lightsaber. I
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: want the baddest m effort in the galaxy with the
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: light sable to be mine master. I want to slip
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: on a shake after I eat a tasty burger. I'm
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: second of all of these ming snakes on the plane.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: I just wanted to be trained by Samuel L. Jackson.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Ohod oh, because I'm a kid for Star Wars. Oh man.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: It hard to argue with that choice. I think if
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: you would ask me, like fifteen years ago, I would
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: have said the same thing because he was the only
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: black like Jedi Master, and I was really I was
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: vibing with that and I want a black teacher and
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: that would have been awesome. I would still pick him today,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: but you picked him so too. Diversify our list here,
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, I want Pocoon. Pocoon, Well, yeah, exactly.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Not only is Master, he's gotten the coolest like head space,
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: where like for me, like you know, you saw both
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: Fett and he was great, but he was already iconic
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: by the time I come around. When I was sitting
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: in watching the new trilogy, it was probably who how
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: was that guy? Because the back looks so cool? Is that?
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: And then throughout the Clone War series we just see
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: him be like really cool and calm and level head
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: and he's the kind of teacher who like lay's back
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: in the cut and it's like, yeah, a gesture footing, Okay,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: I see you, you're good. Maybe try dodging that out
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: and got him in the face. What did we talk about? Like,
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: he's just not too and time. I feel like with
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: a lot of the Jedi Masters, they're like just always
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: on you like that. I can't learn like that. It's
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: very difficult for me. I I think Pocoon would be
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: a great master, patient, loving, supportive. Yeah, you nailed it,
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: like that actually would be a great master because he
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I don't know whose master, who he really was. I
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: don't know if we ever got into that in the
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Clone Wars, but he definitely was Asoka's master for of stint,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: whether it be a year or whatever. She was definitely
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: rolling with him for a bit and taught the art
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: of detective work and everything in the underbellies of Corussant,
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like, and he was always
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: an ally for you know what. Yeah, I don't know
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: if I would go Plocon, but if I could be
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: trained by a Jedi, Asoka would be a Jedi. I'd
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: like to be trained because he has those white sabers
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: and is out there teaching kids on their own. Yes,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: I don't got to just learn the ways of the Jedi.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: I can learn the ways of the force, you know
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: what I mean. If we're going forest spenders, I would
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: like to learn from bind you. Although I imagine that
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: would be a lot of sleeping and waiting. Not only that,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: that would be a lot of riddles where you're like, dude,
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: just say to stuff already, what are we talking about?
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: What do you mean? I am the focus of the sky,
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: but yet I am sleek and ben Do just say it? Please?
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: If you went dark side, who would you? Who would
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: be your master? Because mine would be assage manentress for sure, nobody.
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: I would never want to be trained by a dark
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: side because they kill you or you have to kill them. Yeah,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: it's too much torture. Man, you don't come You don't
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: come out of that looking the same, you know what
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I mean? Just corrupt the spirit. Look at it. One
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: got cut in half, One got burnt to a crisp.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: Not one got electrocuted to a crisp. It was very painful.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: One got a scar on his face so long that
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: you can't even believe it, but it looks cool. And
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: one is the clone of an evil sith lord. And
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: it was took so much for the clone to make
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: it in life that it stretched him and elongated him
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: and his you know, made his face a little weird.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: You know what I mean? It doesn't listen. I don't
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: disagree with you that the sit are corrupted. Visually, it
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: becomes visible to everyone. You can see the evil rolling
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: off them. Uh and yeah, I think the rule too
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: is cool and I love that guys, and the Sage
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: Ventries is amazing. So if option I would go with
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: the Sage. If you pick cloakundo you you're also gonna
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: have a tragic background because you got to see him
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: die in Order sixty six. If you live, yeah, you
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: guys gotta do. It depends on where you dropped me
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: in the universe. They all died in order sixty six,
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: so it's like most of them. Listen, windows got thrown
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: out a window. He may have been told to say
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: he survived and stuff like that, but he ain't been
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: back yet. You know, you guys chose the Soca though too,
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: so you could you know, still be learning stuff from
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: her right right as of right now Asoka is the
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: right choice is you want to get out? She knew
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: the most and did try to have her thrown out
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: of the Jedi. He was like, yo, I don't trust
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: this girl. She probably murdered that person. Oh man, no,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: he did well, Yoda did too. They just they all
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: was really hard on her. That was Yoda. They all were.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: They all were like, they all were very hard on her.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: They all were hard on her except for Anakin and Plokum. Yeah. Okay,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: that's our show, guys, that is the pilot for this series.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I'm so excited that we're finally making this happen. I
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: cannot wait to bring you great conversations with the people
