- 0:16Across the street could be haunted, or even your own home.
- 0:20As many of you have experienced yourselves.
- 0:23When horrific events take place, they often seem to leave a wound
- 0:27upon the land and the wounds often develop and to scars.
- 0:33This is the story of a place that Claim to be the most evil
- 0:36place and America where multiple mysterious deaths, Supernatural,
- 0:42occurrences and Poltergeist activity have taken place.
- 0:48This is the untold story of Willows weep,
- 1:10Located in Cuyahoga, Indiana once home to mound building
- 1:14Native American tribes and the site of several battles between
- 1:18natives as well as Natives and settlers Willows weep.
- 1:23Is it would come to be known was originally built in 1890 by a
- 1:28man. By the name of Jesse Sykes, the
- 1:31home got its name from the large willow tree that sits next to
- 1:35the house and the horrible events that would later take
- 1:38place there. The home is across or t Cottage
- 1:43with evident alterations that have been made over the years
- 1:46similar to, but slightly a typical of standard,
- 1:50victorian-style Homes at the time.
- 1:53Many theories exist as to why the home was built in the shape
- 1:56of an upside-down cross facing the East.
- 1:59And other than the fact that he was a farmer, not much is known
- 2:02about mr. Sykes's personal day-to-day
- 2:05life, it wasn't uncommon for people to be very religious and
- 2:10Stitches back in those days. One theory is that it was
- 2:14constructed in such a way to ward off any evil.
- 2:17That could be lurking. Near the Sykes family, another
- 2:21theory that ties into this one, is that the home?
- 2:24Rest on top of an ancient Native American burial ground and after
- 2:29the arrival of the settlers, a hex was placed upon the land.
- 2:34Another more disturbing theory is that what if the home was
- 2:38constructed, not to worry? Ward off, evil, the to attracted
- 2:42and potentially trap it as to encapsulate, the Ethereal realm,
- 2:47in ours, and as to why someone would want to do that, we may
- 2:52never know, but it would certainly make sense given what
- 2:55would occur later on the family, originally included, Jesse and
- 3:00his wife, Elizabeth but would later grow to include a son by
- 3:04the name of annual. It is speculated that annual
- 3:08later fathered several children with the Next door whose name
- 3:12was Marianne Petty. She would later take the Sykes
- 3:15last name, although described as a good man, who would go on to
- 3:19found a general store and the fledgling town, there seems to
- 3:23be a darker side. To Jesse Sykes, he was charged
- 3:28in 1874 with incest, for engaging in unlawful intercourse
- 3:33with the daughter of Mary Ann and his son.
- 3:35Andy well a girl named Elizabeth after his own wife.
- 3:40Wife from here, things seem to grow only stranger and more
- 3:44disturbing. One day.
- 3:47While going to feed the Hogs, Jesse Sykes met a gruesome and
- 3:51horrific death. Now, in his later years and
- 3:55suffering from epilepsy, Jesse had some sort of a seizure while
- 3:59feeding over 100 hogs on his farm.
- 4:02And before his family knew it, he had fallen face-first into
- 4:06the Hogs pit. Then was quickly devoured by the
- 4:10starving animals due to the location of the pain.
- 4:15This screams would fall upon deaf ears.
- 4:19Realizing that her husband was taking an unusual amount of time
- 4:22to feed the animals. Elizabeth went to check on him
- 4:26and found the animals fighting over what remained of.
- 4:29Jesse the site was so traumatic to mrs.
- 4:32Sykes that she would go on to spend several years in a mental
- 4:37institution. With the loss of his father and
- 4:40his mother being institutionalized, the home was
- 4:43given to annual who had Mary Ann and her.
- 4:46Now, six children move in annual will continue to run the
- 4:50family's General Store and farm and would welcome his mother
- 4:54back. Some years later, she would then
- 4:56pass away from natural causes not soon after her return
- 5:01shortly after his mother's death any, well would unexpectedly
- 5:05drop dead as well from a cerebral hemorrhage.
- 5:08And the home was put up for auction shortly after the home
- 5:13would then be purchased by a man named Robert Sandlin Sandlin,
- 5:17just months after purchasing the property would mysteriously died
- 5:21as well, leading to a court. Battle over the home, as well as
- 5:25the rest of his belongings amongst his children.
- 5:29Once settled after quite some time, the home would again be
- 5:32purchased and sold twice in quick succession.
- 5:36Just several years dating between In sales as to why this
- 5:41would happen. It's not exactly clear heading
- 5:44into the 21st century and 1999. The home was again purchased by
- 5:49the Skinner family consisting of a husband and wife Curtis and
- 5:53Cheryl Skinner, not many details are available about what the
- 5:57family's home life or relationships were like, but it
- 6:01seems like Willows weep has a track record of conjuring
- 6:05Darkness within its owners lives.
- 6:08Sadly Cheryl would pass away from a cardiac event in 2001 and
- 6:13eight years later, Curtis to would pass away.
- 6:17But from a self-inflicted gunshot wound within the home,
- 6:21like, a curse Willows. We'd move generation to
- 6:25generation and despite its now famous track record is being an
- 6:29evil place. It would then yet again be
- 6:31purchased in 2010 by Brenda Zimmerman also known as Brenda
- 6:37Johnson. With the hopes to renovate the
- 6:39home for her and her son to live in.
- 6:42But shortly after the perches she began to have a very
- 6:46different view that made her question.
- 6:48Just what she had gotten herself into the renovations began
- 6:52shortly after the purchase was finalized, Brenda and her son
- 6:56quickly, got to work starting with the seal And right from the
- 7:01get-go. Thanks just didn't feel right.
- 7:05As her son was removing a section of ceiling to be
- 7:07replaced. Several of the old boards on the
- 7:10wall flew off and hit him leaving him both shocked and
- 7:15terrified after this event Brenda hired a maintenance
- 7:19worker to assist in the renovation to do tasks that were
- 7:22out of their field of expertise during his employment.
- 7:26The worker would find a human bone buried on the property I'm
- 7:30sure of what they were looking at Brenda decided to take it to
- 7:33a friend of hers that was a local police officer given the
- 7:37Aged appearance of the bone and the circumstances of how it was
- 7:41found. She was given the option to
- 7:43either dispose of it or place it back where she had found it.
- 7:47Like most of the area's residents, the officer had heard
- 7:51of the ancient burial grounds and wasn't going to push his
- 7:54luck of the Wrath of the Unknown.
- 7:57By further disturbing the grave Faced with this task Brenda
- 8:01decided to further research where the bone could have came
- 8:04from and the result put a cold chill of her spine searching for
- 8:09answers. Brenda reached out to one of the
- 8:12living previous owners who told her about a story that she had
- 8:16heard but couldn't confirm the story was about a former tenant
- 8:20and her children roughly around the 1940s The woman moved in
- 8:25with her two children. One, a little girl of about six
- 8:29years old and the other, a teenage boy, some of the locals
- 8:34were concerned about the children because they had heard
- 8:36stories about their mother. It said that she had gone
- 8:39through three different husbands and each one of them had died
- 8:43under mysterious circumstances. But other than gossip, not much
- 8:48else, came out about her her children, however, were a very
- 8:52different story. It all starts with the little
- 8:55girl who one day goes missing, no one can find her.
- 9:00And no one has any idea as to where she could be.
- 9:04There is, in fact, no signs of her as if she vanished Into Thin
- 9:08Air. As a result, her older brother
- 9:12either due to the grief of losing his little sister, or the
- 9:16torment within the house, or a combination of both.
- 9:20Sadly, hangs himself. And that is where Brenda
- 9:23believes the bone came from. She thinks it's possible that
- 9:27the little girl somehow passed and could have been buried by
- 9:30her mother upon the property. The bone would later be
- 9:33identified as an arm bone, belonging to a young child, this
- 9:38disturbing Discovery. Would soon be paired with even
- 9:41stranger paranormal activity. Within Willows weep Brenda
- 9:46describes that she's been scratched, revealing six, claw
- 9:49marks several times doors and cabinets would regularly open
- 9:54and slam on their own. And there was often intense
- 9:57banging coming from within the walls and underneath the floors
- 10:02on more. One occasion.
- 10:04At this point, she begins to believe the dark tales about the
- 10:07place. She now, owns and speculates.
- 10:10If she could continue to own the property and end up like one of
- 10:14the previous owners, or if she should take the risk and sell
- 10:19the home, possibly Shifting, The Curse to someone new no longer
- 10:25living at the residence as she had originally planned.
- 10:28Brenda takes to venting her frustrations to some local
- 10:31friends. And eventually the word gets out
- 10:35about the dark past of the house, as well as the
- 10:38experiences that Brenda and others have endured there.
- 10:42And it soon captures the attention of local and National
- 10:45paranormal investigators. Eager to try and experience
- 10:49Willows weep for themselves. One such investigator is a man
- 10:54by the name of David Spinks who has been involved in several
- 10:58high-profile cases. Spinks makes contact with And
- 11:03along with several Associates, begins to investigate the home
- 11:07and captures more EVPs in his first night there than at any
- 11:10other prior investigation. Which further intrigues, him
- 11:15desperate to get to the bottom of what could be taking place
- 11:18there Sphynx along with others Associates.
- 11:20Head back to Willows weep for a follow-up investigation but as
- 11:25soon as Spinks and his colleagues enter, they are
- 11:28struck with an overwhelming sense of dread, and the dread is
- 11:31soon pair. Word with crippling headaches.
- 11:34Unable to continue any further, they all head outside for some
- 11:38fresh air, and continue to speak with Brenda, Brenda refuses to
- 11:43ever go back inside, that one story portal to Hell Spinks,
- 11:47then does something unforeseen knowing that Brenda wants to rid
- 11:51herself of Willows weep once and for all and not wanting someone
- 11:55unsuspecting or unexperienced, a deal with whatever could be
- 11:59lurking inside. He offers to purchase the home
- 12:03from Brenda so that he can further investigate with his
- 12:06team, Spinks did end up purchasing the home and the deal
- 12:10was finalized roughly in 2019. He has gone on to write several
- 12:15books and make a film about his findings there, but his actions
- 12:20have not gone without controversy.
- 12:23The children of the Skinner family, Adam and Haley prior
- 12:27tenants, whose parents both passed away within the home.
- 12:30One from Sue. Side.
- 12:32Do not share the fears that others, do despite growing up
- 12:35there and dealing with their own dark happenings, they claim that
- 12:40their mother actually passed away at the hospital from a
- 12:42heart attack. And that their father did indeed
- 12:45commit suicide within the house. But this was due to the fact
- 12:49that he had been diagnosed with cancer and couldn't afford his
- 12:52treatments. So they launched their own
- 12:55petition and media campaign to try and bar.
- 12:58Dave Spinks from exploiting people's deaths.
- 13:01To legitimize The Haunting of Willows weep.
- 13:05Why I do understand where the scanners are coming from?
- 13:08I don't necessarily think that Spinks engineered said,
- 13:11narratives in order to profit from the alleged haunting that's
- 13:14taking place there given its strange and dark history, weird
- 13:19architecture and the amount of tragedies that have unfolded
- 13:22upon the land which will lose weep.
- 13:24Now sits, it's hard to imagine if the place at a minimum didn't
- 13:28have some sort of a residual haunting To it and I hope that
- 13:33was Spinks. Now owning the property that no
- 13:35one else will meet a mysterious and untimely fate and that
- 13:39hopefully whatever Terror that resides there can now Slumber
- 13:45forever. But what do you think is the
- 13:49Willows weep haunting genuine? What are your thoughts?
