- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is Spoiled Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven one through seven forty three.
- 0:15Speaker 1: A state of emergency, Rebecca is kidnapped, the bond between
- 0:20Speaker 1: father and daughter Kiros and Rebecca and Men's pride Loofy
- 0:27Speaker 1: versus Fujita head to head. In these chapters, we get
- 0:34Speaker 1: the start of a I will just say it, frankly
- 0:38Speaker 1: hilarious fight between Lufy and Fujiitura, and in my opinion,
- 0:46Speaker 1: Fuji Toah, you ain't shit and I never want to
- 0:49Speaker 1: see your damn face again. Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome
- 1:13Speaker 1: to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very
- 1:17Speaker 1: much to Florian for commissioning this episode. Florian, if you
- 1:22Speaker 1: are out there listening, Hi you guys. I look, there's
- 1:29Speaker 1: all kinds of other things to talk about. I recognize that,
- 1:33Speaker 1: but I just need to talk about Fuji Toora first
- 1:37Speaker 1: and foremost, because look, you guys heard me say when
- 1:41Speaker 1: I was in the recording with Florian that I didn't
- 1:46Speaker 1: see how he could in good conscience go after the
- 1:50Speaker 1: straw hats after everything that had happened. And I stand
- 1:54Speaker 1: by that, I really do. I feel like that was
- 1:59Speaker 1: a reasonable position that I took, seeing not only the
- 2:06Speaker 1: way that it is all handled. Now I want to
- 2:08Speaker 1: be clear about like the way in which I criticize
- 2:13Speaker 1: certain things, there is nuance to it. So there are
- 2:18Speaker 1: times where I'll be criticizing a character and is that
- 2:21Speaker 1: I am criticizing the writing of that character. And then
- 2:25Speaker 1: there are times where I feel like it's much more
- 2:31Speaker 1: a criticism of the character, that they have been written well,
- 2:35Speaker 1: that they are actually like, they are true to what
- 2:43Speaker 1: a person like them would do, and so I am
- 2:46Speaker 1: criticizing their actions. So those are two distinct things. Fuji Tora,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I am criticizing him as a person, not the writing
- 3:01Speaker 1: of him. Okay, so the fact that he first of
- 3:08Speaker 1: all is giving the I'm trying to think of the
- 3:16Speaker 1: way to put this because I don't want to go
- 3:20Speaker 1: so far as to say he is trying to delegate
- 3:23Speaker 1: responsibility to fate rather than to himself, because that makes
- 3:28Speaker 1: it sound like what I think is happening is that
- 3:33Speaker 1: he is a coward trying to avoid taking responsibility. Now,
- 3:43Speaker 1: I don't actually believe that. I actually think that he
- 3:47Speaker 1: is fully believes what it is that he is doing.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I feel like what he's chosen though to the whole
- 4:04Speaker 1: gimmick with going with fate and providence making choices instead
- 4:09Speaker 1: of doing that himself. It is something that I just
- 4:16Speaker 1: can't relate to as a person because I have always felt,
- 4:20Speaker 1: even as somebody who does go in for tarot reading
- 4:25Speaker 1: and astrology and stuff, I just can't quite sympathize with
- 4:36Speaker 1: deciding to sit back and take action solely based on
- 4:42Speaker 1: certain things. There was like one time in my life
- 4:45Speaker 1: where I was willing to let what the positions of
- 4:49Speaker 1: the stars and planets were according to my mother dictate
- 4:54Speaker 1: the day that I got married, and I chose a
- 4:58Speaker 1: wedding day based the recommendations that she gave me. I
- 5:03Speaker 1: look back now and I think that's insane, But at
- 5:07Speaker 1: the time, we could get married at any point, and
- 5:11Speaker 1: I was just sort of like, well, what does it matter.
- 5:12Speaker 1: We'll just pick one of those days and if it
- 5:14Speaker 1: does help, then it helps, and that's great. But and
- 5:18Speaker 1: you know, to a degree when you pick a wedding date,
- 5:20Speaker 1: like how much does it really matter? But we had
- 5:24Speaker 1: been getting prepared to be married like six months later
- 5:28Speaker 1: than that date, so everything got moved up and that
- 5:31Speaker 1: was really the issue. So I'll cop to having that
- 5:36Speaker 1: like as something that in my past I have just
- 5:40Speaker 1: decided let fate decide, that's the only thing. And it
- 5:45Speaker 1: wasn't even about whether I was going to get married.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It was simply about the day on which a thing
- 5:50Speaker 1: I had already determined was going to happen would happen.
- 5:55Speaker 1: So I just this this whole bit with it being
- 6:02Speaker 1: up to chance and Faye and I get that this
- 6:03Speaker 1: is supposed to be part of him being like a gambler, right,
- 6:09Speaker 1: I understand the theme that we're going with here, but
- 6:13Speaker 1: it just is so asinine. And I the fact that
- 6:22Speaker 1: he is willing to turn around and be like, get
- 6:26Speaker 1: all of them, get every criminal, Let's take them all down,
- 6:31Speaker 1: after everything that they have done, not only after everything
- 6:35Speaker 1: they've done, but after himself acknowledging everything that they have done.
- 6:40Speaker 1: He literally says out loud, all right, well should I
- 6:43Speaker 1: go after them even though they saved Dress Rosa. Let's
- 6:46Speaker 1: find out, sir. I am going to need you to
- 6:54Speaker 1: take a moment and look at what the fuck you
- 6:58Speaker 1: just said out loud to yourself, because they just saved
- 7:05Speaker 1: Dress Rosa and you are genuinely over here like, well,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you know it could go either way. What is wrong?
- 7:12Speaker 1: With you, What is the matter with you? It's very
- 7:16Speaker 1: difficult for me to just wholeheartedly throw myself behind him
- 7:22Speaker 1: in terms of his apology to King riku At when
- 7:28Speaker 1: he follows up that behavior by doing this, it's just
- 7:34Speaker 1: doesn't like, it does not feel like a genuine apology.
- 7:38Speaker 1: If then you decide you're going to try and prosecute
- 7:41Speaker 1: the only people who were able to actually do anything,
- 7:45Speaker 1: and not only going after them, but then later you guys,
- 7:52Speaker 1: this man sorry Bernadet is in the chat and said
- 7:57Speaker 1: what a cop without a working con a moral compass.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I'm so shocked. And this is the thing, is like
- 8:06Speaker 1: I'm not sure how much we're supposed to really see
- 8:10Speaker 1: him that way. It's difficult for me to tell I
- 8:14Speaker 1: see him that way, but I'm not sure if I'm
- 8:19Speaker 1: meant to. I feel like I'm supposed to see him
- 8:22Speaker 1: as like honorable, but but like mercurial. You know this man,
- 8:37Speaker 1: I have a couple issues with what he winds up
- 8:39Speaker 1: doing later. So eventually, when all the straw hats have
- 8:43Speaker 1: decided okay, you know what, I think it's time to
- 8:45Speaker 1: make tracks. We got to get the fuck out of here.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Shit's getting a little bit too real. A little bit
- 8:50Speaker 1: too fast. I'm out they are fleeing and he is
- 8:56Speaker 1: going to go after them, and he decides that he
- 8:58Speaker 1: is going to use him his ability to change the
- 9:03Speaker 1: weight of all of the rubble and the buildings that
- 9:09Speaker 1: have fallen and lift them up into the air to
- 9:16Speaker 1: crush all of the straw Hats, Straw Hats and Company
- 9:21Speaker 1: under its weight, so that even though Bartelomeo has his
- 9:26Speaker 1: barrier going, it's very likely that it would just kill
- 9:30Speaker 1: them anyway. Like I don't know, I don't know to
- 9:33Speaker 1: be honest, but Bartilomeo's reaction to me pointed to the
- 9:37Speaker 1: fact that he did not think his barrier was going
- 9:40Speaker 1: to save them if that was dropped on them. It
- 9:42Speaker 1: seemed like to him, he says out loud, that's cheating.
- 9:46Speaker 1: So yeah, I'm just going to go ahead and say,
- 9:48Speaker 1: I think that's probably a rap if that falls on them. Now,
- 9:55Speaker 1: couple things, and I will acknowledge I am being a
- 10:02Speaker 1: little silly, but I'm also a little bit serious. Sir.
- 10:11Speaker 1: You have the ability to clear all the rubble from
- 10:17Speaker 1: dress Rosa, and it didn't occur to you to just
- 10:21Speaker 1: do that as a person trying to help a community
- 10:25Speaker 1: that you apologize to because you failed them. I think
- 10:32Speaker 1: this should have been the first thing you did with
- 10:36Speaker 1: your ability instead of what it looks like you did,
- 10:40Speaker 1: which is went and sat down at a table and
- 10:43Speaker 1: just played dice for three days while jerking off. How
- 10:48Speaker 1: about you get up off your ass and go use
- 10:53Speaker 1: your fucking superpower to make the complete rebuilding of dress
- 10:59Speaker 1: Rosa from the ground up a little bit easier on people.
- 11:04Speaker 1: You're a human crane. Go help rebuild buildings, Go help
- 11:12Speaker 1: make it so that Like, there's so much about the
- 11:19Speaker 1: lifting of all of that rubble that made me so angry.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Also the fact that he's like yanking up pieces of building,
- 11:26Speaker 1: and I think it's supposed to be that it's just
- 11:29Speaker 1: the buildings that are already busted, because the way that
- 11:33Speaker 1: he's framing it, he says to the pirates, you're the
- 11:39Speaker 1: ones who destroyed this place, so you should feel the
- 11:44Speaker 1: weight of it. Does anybody else remember the giant fight
- 11:57Speaker 1: between him and and Sabo where they basically just dropped
- 12:06Speaker 1: planets on one another in the middle of the city.
- 12:12Speaker 1: The fact that he has the gall to behave as
- 12:17Speaker 1: if this was their fault too, do Flamingo started this
- 12:20Speaker 1: whole thing they saved Dressed Rosa. You set it yourself,
- 12:27Speaker 1: so then to blame them for this. It was literally
- 12:32Speaker 1: every step of the way, do Flamingo who was destroying buildings.
- 12:38Speaker 1: It was either him directly with the birdcage, or it
- 12:42Speaker 1: was Pika because of his weird stone power manipulating the
- 12:47Speaker 1: ground and causing things to break and crack and fall over.
- 12:54Speaker 1: This is assinine. This is and what makes me very angry.
- 13:00Speaker 1: This is like I'm going away now from criticizing the
- 13:03Speaker 1: character to the writing. What bothers me here is that
- 13:07Speaker 1: nobody argues with him, like Loofy comes in to fight him,
- 13:15Speaker 1: but it's like, I'm just going to It does not
- 13:20Speaker 1: feel like it's I'm arguing your accusations against me and
- 13:26Speaker 1: my crew. It feels like you're trying to keep us
- 13:30Speaker 1: from leaving and you're fucking with my friends. And I
- 13:32Speaker 1: can't allow that. And that doesn't carry the same energy
- 13:35Speaker 1: at all. All of the things that he is accusing
- 13:40Speaker 1: them of our bullshit, And he himself said earlier in
- 13:45Speaker 1: that same episode that they saved Dress Rosa. So I
- 13:51Speaker 1: am not understanding this, and it's like all I can do,
- 13:55Speaker 1: All I want is to believe that he is just
- 14:00Speaker 1: doing this to cover somehow for the fact that he
- 14:04Speaker 1: is going to let them escape because he knows that
- 14:08Speaker 1: this is garbage and that he basically had to set
- 14:13Speaker 1: things up so that they could get out. While when
- 14:17Speaker 1: when what is the name of the woman who shows
- 14:20Speaker 1: up and is basically like, why haven't you captured them yet?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Maybe he just gets moving once she shows up because
- 14:28Speaker 1: he's realizing, Okay, I sat on my hands for as
- 14:33Speaker 1: long as I was able to get away with and
- 14:34Speaker 1: now I've got to make something happen. I want in
- 14:38Speaker 1: my guts to believe that so bad because I don't
- 14:41Speaker 1: want this man to be this fucking stupid. But I
- 14:45Speaker 1: think he might be this fucking stupid, and I'm really
- 14:51Speaker 1: really disappointed because I have enjoyed some of his weirdness
- 14:58Speaker 1: and it just There is a point later on when
- 15:04Speaker 1: he is fighting Mufi and Lufy is just calling out
- 15:09Speaker 1: all of the moves that he is going to make,
- 15:11Speaker 1: which is honestly fucking hilarious. I'm gonna punch you now, now,
- 15:18Speaker 1: big stump, I'm gonna punch you a bunch. I'm gonna
- 15:22Speaker 1: kick you gold perfect loved it, no notes, But Fujiitara
- 15:29Speaker 1: is like taking offense to this and basically says, are
- 15:33Speaker 1: you giving me a heads up on your moves because
- 15:36Speaker 1: I'm blind? And you think that I need you to
- 15:39Speaker 1: do that? Because I'm one of the four emperors, bro,
- 15:45Speaker 1: I don't need you like he Well, somebody calls him
- 15:49Speaker 1: an emperor later? Is he or orre they just saying
- 15:54Speaker 1: emperor in terms of sort of a declaration of respect
- 16:00Speaker 1: infect Either way, he is rightfully saying to Lufy, I
- 16:07Speaker 1: wouldn't have gotten where I've gotten if I needed people
- 16:12Speaker 1: to give me a little extra help during a fight.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I think that my position in all of this speaks
- 16:19Speaker 1: for itself, and this is just disrespectful of you. Lufy
- 16:25Speaker 1: responds with if I were to attack you with a
- 16:28Speaker 1: move that you didn't see coming, that would basically be cheating.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And even though you're a marine doesn't mean I don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: like you, which is adorable. Fujitura responds to this by saying,
- 16:47Speaker 1: and I quote, are you really that whimsical? Don't you
- 16:56Speaker 1: stand for anything? The whimsical part is a quote. The
- 17:01Speaker 1: stand for anything is a paraphrase. I just need everybody
- 17:09Speaker 1: to take a moment and think about what whimsical means.
- 17:18Speaker 1: It means you cater to whims It means that you
- 17:25Speaker 1: are very changeable and in any given moment, decide what
- 17:30Speaker 1: you're going to do without forethought, and that you tend
- 17:34Speaker 1: to act impulsively. This is being lobbed at Loofy as
- 17:42Speaker 1: an insult by the man who a few episodes earlier
- 17:49Speaker 1: literally rolled a dice and determined what he was going
- 17:53Speaker 1: to do according to how a dice landed. That is
- 18:01Speaker 1: the definition of whimsical. Are you fucking high? Do you
- 18:06Speaker 1: hear yourself? What are you fucking talking about? All you
- 18:13Speaker 1: ever do is jerk Fate off and blow Providence all
- 18:20Speaker 1: over the goddamn place you love it. How are you
- 18:26Speaker 1: going to complain about somebody being whimsical? The whim of
- 18:31Speaker 1: fate is what you have been operating according to for
- 18:36Speaker 1: three days. How dare you? I was rooting for you?
- 18:45Speaker 1: How dare you? I am so disgusted, And I wouldn't
- 18:52Speaker 1: be this pissed if it didn't feel like I am
- 18:55Speaker 1: supposed to be taking him seriously in that moment. But
- 18:58Speaker 1: it feels like I am meant to actually believe that
- 19:03Speaker 1: he means what he's saying, and that like he is
- 19:08Speaker 1: holding Loofy in contempt I genuinely feel like, unless the
- 19:15Speaker 1: writing decides to give me a little wink and nod
- 19:18Speaker 1: at some point, this is all being played straight, like
- 19:23Speaker 1: he is the guy who takes a stand on things
- 19:27Speaker 1: and he is wagging his finger at whimsical Loofy, And
- 19:33Speaker 1: I'm sorry, but you guys, there is just zero excuse
- 19:41Speaker 1: for this. If this is real, If I turn if
- 19:45Speaker 1: it turns out this was all a show that he
- 19:47Speaker 1: didn't mean it, whatever, whatever, fine, I'll be very relieved
- 19:53Speaker 1: and fine. But as of right now, it just feels
- 19:57Speaker 1: like somebody writing in a few state not thinking. And
- 20:03Speaker 1: I really don't want to believe that, but it just
- 20:05Speaker 1: feels like this is nonsense right now. It's just it's
- 20:09Speaker 1: a combination of him blaming them for things he himself did,
- 20:14Speaker 1: because I have not forgotten the fact that he basically
- 20:18Speaker 1: brought down a meteor Onsabo's head and destroyed a city block.
- 20:25Speaker 1: And I also have not forgot that you apologized because
- 20:29Speaker 1: you guys didn't do what you needed to do. You
- 20:32Speaker 1: gave the Strawhatz credit for saving dress Rosa, and then
- 20:35Speaker 1: you turned around like an asshole to go after them,
- 20:39Speaker 1: And Loofy is whimsical whimsical plus ADHD one hundred percent,
- 20:49Speaker 1: no question. But my guy, you are the most whimsical
- 20:54Speaker 1: motherfucker I ever met. At least Loofy's whims have some
- 20:59Speaker 1: rhyme or reasons that you can predict, because he is
- 21:01Speaker 1: a consistent dude, Your whims are not even your whims.
- 21:06Speaker 1: They're the whims of the dice, which is even less
- 21:11Speaker 1: principled than making a decision based on your personal feelings
- 21:16Speaker 1: in the moment. At the very least, when Lufy does something,
- 21:19Speaker 1: I know it's because he was hungry, he was angry,
- 21:23Speaker 1: his friend got threatened, he likes fighting whatever, I know why.
- 21:30Speaker 1: But with you, it's literally who knows Fate told him somehow.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I hate you. Okay, there are a lot of characters
- 21:43Speaker 1: in this show that I have really hated, and I
- 21:48Speaker 1: am not saying Fujiitor is up there with like wet
- 21:54Speaker 1: hair caribou or something. But in a way, he feels
- 22:00Speaker 1: even more despicable somehow, because he's just so blind pun
- 22:08Speaker 1: intended to his own hypocrisy. I hope to God, I
- 22:15Speaker 1: hope that this is all on purpose. I really hope
- 22:18Speaker 1: it is, because I don't know what else to think. Oh, Bernadette,
- 22:22Speaker 1: the rubble thing pissed me off to no end. This
- 22:25Speaker 1: mofo is so profoundly unhelpful in every way. Also, he
- 22:28Speaker 1: should be the one feeling the way of having not
- 22:30Speaker 1: done shit, which he even acknowledged. I hate this guy
- 22:33Speaker 1: as much as Akayinu, but I might be influenced by
- 22:36Speaker 1: my general sentiment toward cops. Amen on all of it, Bernadette,
- 22:41Speaker 1: Like Honestly, the thing that I have said for so
- 22:46Speaker 1: long is apologies don't mean anything unless they are accompanied
- 22:52Speaker 1: by changed behavior. And if you were going to kneel
- 22:56Speaker 1: and prostrate yourself in front of King Rico who and
- 23:01Speaker 1: apologize for not doing the right thing, and then turn
- 23:04Speaker 1: around and capture the people who save dress Rosa, pretend
- 23:08Speaker 1: they're the ones responsible for all of this destruction, and
- 23:12Speaker 1: completely abandon this alliance that you decided to create yourself
- 23:18Speaker 1: because you began to realize this was not a sustainable
- 23:22Speaker 1: way of functioning. You are a liar and a bad
- 23:28Speaker 1: guy who does not make good faith apologies or promises.
- 23:34Speaker 1: You're full of shit. You are garbage. So I really
- 23:40Speaker 1: despise this man, and I think it's kind of fitting
- 23:45Speaker 1: that this all comes to a head in this way,
- 23:47Speaker 1: because you guys know that I was like when when
- 23:53Speaker 1: the whole city of dress Rosa was basically being dismantled
- 23:58Speaker 1: piece by piece, kept just being like, this is going
- 24:01Speaker 1: to take so much to put back together. This is
- 24:03Speaker 1: going to be such a whole thing. And he, in particular,
- 24:08Speaker 1: was one of the people that I kept being like,
- 24:09Speaker 1: why are you having such a huge taking such part
- 24:14Speaker 1: in destruction here without really seeming to care about anything.
- 24:19Speaker 1: And I was singing all of that at the time
- 24:23Speaker 1: and upset by it, not knowing that he was going
- 24:26Speaker 1: to turn around and try and lay all of this
- 24:28Speaker 1: at the feet of the straw hats. So it is
- 24:31Speaker 1: sort of perfect that it was upsetting me the way
- 24:34Speaker 1: that it did, because it turns out like this actually
- 24:37Speaker 1: does matter in the end, and by the end of
- 24:40Speaker 1: this trio of episodes, like I think it's the middle
- 24:44Speaker 1: of the third episode that he starts to pull the
- 24:46Speaker 1: rubble up and the episode ends and that stuff is
- 24:51Speaker 1: still hovering above them. This dude ain't shit, you know.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I really I didn't respond well to his apology when
- 25:01Speaker 1: it first happened. Then I get I had some time
- 25:06Speaker 1: to consider it and to view the way that the
- 25:09Speaker 1: transmission that everybody saw of that moment might have an
- 25:13Speaker 1: impact on things, and I decided that I was like
- 25:17Speaker 1: gonna try and give him some credit for after all,
- 25:19Speaker 1: after this, No, I take it back, you get negative credit,
- 25:22Speaker 1: if anything. Making that apology before doing what you're doing
- 25:26Speaker 1: here makes all of what you're doing all that much
- 25:30Speaker 1: worse and more harmful and more indicative of how full
- 25:35Speaker 1: of shit you are. And I don't want Lufy to
- 25:39Speaker 1: tell him what moves he's about to make. I want
- 25:43Speaker 1: Loufy to crush this man into a fine powder. I
- 25:47Speaker 1: want this man to be liquefied and poured down the toilet.
- 25:54Speaker 1: I am over it. I am done with him. I
- 25:56Speaker 1: hate him, I hate him, I hate him. I'm so annoyed.
- 26:01Speaker 1: So anyway, that's where I stand on Fuji Torah. Let's
- 26:05Speaker 1: talk about something a little bit. I was gonna say
- 26:09Speaker 1: more fun. I hesitate to say that because like, really, no,
- 26:13Speaker 1: not really, but I guess this is one of those
- 26:18Speaker 1: uh talk about Fujiitura, who I hate so much. And
- 26:22Speaker 1: then I'm gonna talk and I'm gonna try and make
- 26:25Speaker 1: it brief about Rebecca and Kiros because I think I
- 26:28Speaker 1: made it very clear how I felt last time. And
- 26:31Speaker 1: just how much potential all of this had. I didn't
- 26:33Speaker 1: want to do any of this, and inevitably we get
- 26:36Speaker 1: tons of flashbacks yet again, and we find out because
- 26:40Speaker 1: like I wasn't sure how much Rebecca really understood of
- 26:42Speaker 1: what he was doing, because I had forgotten that he
- 26:44Speaker 1: writes her a note, so she has like all the
- 26:48Speaker 1: information on what he's trying to do, and she is
- 26:50Speaker 1: not making any effort to find him. And it's Loofy
- 26:55Speaker 1: who goes to her and is like, hey, are you
- 26:58Speaker 1: okay with this? Because if you're not bringing you to
- 27:00Speaker 1: see your dad? But if you are, then that's kind
- 27:04Speaker 1: of fucked, I think. But it's your call, y'all. I
- 27:12Speaker 1: could not stop laughing once I realized what was going
- 27:15Speaker 1: on here, because I thought, when I was predicting how
- 27:21Speaker 1: all this was going to go, my prediction was Rebecca
- 27:26Speaker 1: is going to be so incensed by the note that
- 27:28Speaker 1: her father leaves her, or not even her note, because
- 27:30Speaker 1: I'd forgotten about that, but the news that is circulating,
- 27:34Speaker 1: she will be so upset by it that she is
- 27:38Speaker 1: going to run after him and angrily demand that he stay,
- 27:44Speaker 1: that he let her have a say in everything. I
- 27:49Speaker 1: fully thought it was going to be Rebecca taking action.
- 27:57Speaker 1: I should have known better, because Rebecca doesn't actually do
- 28:01Speaker 1: anything ever. Ever, Ever, she doesn't even decide to go
- 28:07Speaker 1: confront her dad. She has to be convinced to go
- 28:11Speaker 1: and see him by Lofy, who literally carries her. Y'all.
- 28:21Speaker 1: What I had in mind was already very boring and annoying,
- 28:26Speaker 1: and they made it more boring and more annoying. I
- 28:32Speaker 1: absolutely cannot and the reasoning is so weak. It is
- 28:36Speaker 1: so weak. The whole thing is supposed to be that
- 28:39Speaker 1: she's basically accepting that he wants to put distance between
- 28:43Speaker 1: them because she thinks that maybe he is still mad
- 28:47Speaker 1: at her for things that she said to him when
- 28:50Speaker 1: she was a child, saying I hate you because you
- 28:54Speaker 1: couldn't save my mother, saying you can't fight do flamingo,
- 28:58Speaker 1: Look at yourself, You're just a broken toy with one leg.
- 29:04Speaker 1: All of this stuff. She is just like wallowing in
- 29:12Speaker 1: and has decided he must just not want to be
- 29:16Speaker 1: with me because I was so mean. And then when
- 29:19Speaker 1: Lufy shows up, she's like, maybe I was just a nuisance,
- 29:23Speaker 1: which I love the fact that he doesn't try and
- 29:25Speaker 1: be like, you're not a nuisance. Nobody would ever say, well,
- 29:28Speaker 1: how could you even say that? He takes such a
- 29:30Speaker 1: different tech Like most of us would try and calm
- 29:34Speaker 1: that fear out of the gate and be like that's
- 29:36Speaker 1: not shut up, you know, But Loofy does not. He
- 29:40Speaker 1: just says like, that's not my call, like it's and
- 29:45Speaker 1: I kind of love that that. He's just like, I'm
- 29:47Speaker 1: not going to comfort you. I am here to help
- 29:49Speaker 1: you if you want to talk to him, and that's
- 29:51Speaker 1: what we'll go do if that's what you want to do.
- 29:54Speaker 1: That's literally my only purpose is to find out if
- 29:58Speaker 1: you need transportation. And that's all. So that being the
- 30:06Speaker 1: motivation for her that she thinks maybe I'm just a
- 30:13Speaker 1: what's the word I want? She uses the word nuisance,
- 30:16Speaker 1: but like just the fact that her father maybe doesn't
- 30:20Speaker 1: really want to be around her after how mean she
- 30:23Speaker 1: was to him. I am so sorry, but that is
- 30:27Speaker 1: the dumbest shit I've ever heard. It's just so manufactured,
- 30:30Speaker 1: it's so silly, like one of those things she said
- 30:33Speaker 1: when she was like eight years old. So I don't
- 30:37Speaker 1: believe that as an adult, you actually would believe that
- 30:41Speaker 1: another adult would abandon you due to you saying that.
- 30:46Speaker 1: And secondly, the man threw down to protect you in
- 30:53Speaker 1: front of you a billion times in that sunflower field
- 30:59Speaker 1: and did nothing but talk about how he failed you
- 31:03Speaker 1: and he wanted to do right by you, and he's
- 31:06Speaker 1: going to fight this guy because it's the right thing
- 31:09Speaker 1: to do and he wants to be there. Finally, after
- 31:12Speaker 1: not having been there, let him do this. You guys, No,
- 31:19Speaker 1: she just didn't believe any of that. Really, it just didn't.
- 31:25Speaker 1: He was literally putting his life on the line. But
- 31:27Speaker 1: she's now kind of going, well, I don't know, he
- 31:29Speaker 1: probably just didn't even like me that much. I just
- 31:32Speaker 1: I have no patience for it. I don't It sucked,
- 31:35Speaker 1: it was dumb, and to top it all off, to
- 31:40Speaker 1: top it all off, I'm so mad about this too.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Does King Riku say, Hey, you know, it was pretty
- 31:53Speaker 1: fucked up that we decided to disown our daughter based
- 31:56Speaker 1: on who she wanted to marry. I see that now,
- 31:59Speaker 1: So why don't you come be a part of the family,
- 32:02Speaker 1: you and your father come and be with us, Because
- 32:07Speaker 1: all of these terrible experiences that we've gone through over
- 32:10Speaker 1: the past decade have taught me how valuable family is,
- 32:15Speaker 1: how short and uncertain our time together is, and that
- 32:19Speaker 1: I should savor every moment with the people that I love. No, no, no,
- 32:26Speaker 1: it doesn't. It sure doesn't. Instead, he's like, yeah, I'm
- 32:31Speaker 1: going to tell everybody that you're still dead or that
- 32:35Speaker 1: your mom is like she is dead now, but like,
- 32:39Speaker 1: I'm just basically going to pretend that you're not part
- 32:42Speaker 1: of the family or not part of any of this.
- 32:46Speaker 1: And you can go and live in a field in
- 32:49Speaker 1: a little hut with your dad, and you have to
- 32:53Speaker 1: choose between your simple country life with your father or
- 33:00Speaker 1: being a princess at court. You get one or the other,
- 33:04Speaker 1: and you chose your father, and so I guess we'll
- 33:10Speaker 1: never see you again. I guess you're not a princess, y'all.
- 33:21Speaker 1: How am I meant to feel about this? How am
- 33:23Speaker 1: I supposed to feel about King Riku that he is
- 33:27Speaker 1: co signing this. I'm so sorry, but you cannot tell
- 33:31Speaker 1: me that the people of this town would have any
- 33:34Speaker 1: issue with Rebecca if they, like, if she became a
- 33:40Speaker 1: part of things, right. It doesn't make sense after everything,
- 33:48Speaker 1: I don't understand why they're still while why she's like
- 33:53Speaker 1: has to give up being princess. The whole way that
- 33:58Speaker 1: this is being framed is like We're just supposed to
- 34:02Speaker 1: appreciate how much she grew up to be like her
- 34:05Speaker 1: mother and decided to make the same sacrifice for the
- 34:09Speaker 1: same man, by the way, which is a little bit creepy.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I don't understand why this sacrifice was necessary. Even the
- 34:17Speaker 1: first time, I barely understood it. It really felt like,
- 34:22Speaker 1: all right, well, you guys kind of suck more than
- 34:25Speaker 1: we're being told you are. Like. I didn't like it
- 34:30Speaker 1: then either, but now it makes even less sense, and
- 34:34Speaker 1: I'm just sitting here like, have I missed something. I'm
- 34:38Speaker 1: supposed to want Riku to be king When he just
- 34:42Speaker 1: turns her back on her like this, I don't want
- 34:45Speaker 1: him to be king now. I thought Kiros would get
- 34:50Speaker 1: to be king. I thought everybody here would recognize that
- 34:54Speaker 1: Kiros was instrumental in saving y'all's asses, and that we
- 34:59Speaker 1: would have a turnaround on the whole way, that people
- 35:02Speaker 1: look at him and see that he is like of
- 35:05Speaker 1: noble spirit, and whether or not he actually is nobility
- 35:10Speaker 1: is irrelevant. And frankly, my version is better. My version
- 35:17Speaker 1: of this is all better. It's more satisfying. It's more
- 35:23Speaker 1: like people actually learned lessons and grew, you know, instead
- 35:28Speaker 1: we're just going back to doing what we had been doing,
- 35:32Speaker 1: which was shitty in the first place. And the fact
- 35:37Speaker 1: that King Riku, after like after all of this, is
- 35:41Speaker 1: just gonna go back and be king again. It's so
- 35:46Speaker 1: it's such a boring way to conclude all of this.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I'm supposed to be celebrating because he shouldn't have been
- 35:54Speaker 1: deposed the way he was, and it's justice that he
- 35:57Speaker 1: gets his thrown back, But frankly, this whole thing just
- 36:02Speaker 1: feels very shitty. And I also don't really know if
- 36:08Speaker 1: you were able to be deposed like this, if you
- 36:11Speaker 1: are the right choice to be king. I understand that
- 36:16Speaker 1: like you got outwitted and out fox and everything, but
- 36:19Speaker 1: like Kiros managed to handle some shit when he was
- 36:24Speaker 1: turned into a toy, and that shows some resourcefulness that
- 36:27Speaker 1: it feels like you didn't really haven't. I don't know
- 36:31Speaker 1: what kind of opportunities King Ricu had to like do
- 36:34Speaker 1: anything and change anything, but it just doesn't look great,
- 36:38Speaker 1: you know. Optically, when he was saying that he didn't
- 36:42Speaker 1: want to become king again, I really understood why, and
- 36:44Speaker 1: I felt like ultimately that was the right choice and
- 36:48Speaker 1: so and like it genuinely I thought we were going
- 36:54Speaker 1: to have a kind of nuanced like yeah, your time
- 36:57Speaker 1: is over sort of plot beat with him. So it
- 37:00Speaker 1: turning into what it became, which was he It just
- 37:07Speaker 1: gets back what was stolen, because that's only fair. It's
- 37:11Speaker 1: just such an oversimplified way to view something as complex
- 37:17Speaker 1: and laden with responsibility as monarchy, like you are going
- 37:22Speaker 1: to be king in charge. That's a big responsibility, and
- 37:30Speaker 1: when you are showing such shitty judgment in other areas, now,
- 37:34Speaker 1: I just feel like that's I wouldn't want you for
- 37:36Speaker 1: my king. I feel like this is very, very shitty behavior. So,
- 37:42Speaker 1: oh my god. Bernadette in the chat says Luvie doesn't
- 37:46Speaker 1: tell Rebecca she isn't useless because Lufy is not a liar. Bernadette,
- 37:54Speaker 1: that never occurred to me. But I honestly love that,
- 37:57Speaker 1: like the fact that Lufy is helping her. I really
- 38:00Speaker 1: don't think that he thinks that she's useless. But it
- 38:05Speaker 1: just does fit together in a way that he's like, maybe,
- 38:09Speaker 1: you know, I want to make a comparison here that's
- 38:13Speaker 1: like maybe a little bit fucked up. But you guys
- 38:16Speaker 1: know how pandas don't want to fuck like other animals.
- 38:26Speaker 1: It's much easier to make them breed than pandas. In particular,
- 38:32Speaker 1: for whatever reason, getting pandas to breed is really really tricky.
- 38:39Speaker 1: And so the people who handle pandas they're dealing with
- 38:44Speaker 1: a declining population, and this is supposed to give their
- 38:48Speaker 1: work a sort of urgency, right, we need to get
- 38:51Speaker 1: them to breed because they're dying off, and it's, you know,
- 38:55Speaker 1: a bad thing. Loofy is a panda breeder. Rebecca doesn't
- 39:06Speaker 1: want to do anything, and Lufy has to like make
- 39:09Speaker 1: her do shit. And so it's coming from this place
- 39:13Speaker 1: of this sort of affection like a breeder might have
- 39:17Speaker 1: for his panda, but also a knowledge that you are
- 39:22Speaker 1: just not going to do the best thing for you
- 39:25Speaker 1: because you're a dumb animal and you just don't understand
- 39:29Speaker 1: the consequences of stuff. So I guess I'm gonna have
- 39:31Speaker 1: to come and explain it to you and then make
- 39:33Speaker 1: you go do it, because, like I look, I'm personally
- 39:40Speaker 1: of the opinion fuck pandas. If they don't want to
- 39:44Speaker 1: stay alive as a species, then let them die out.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I don't know what to tell you. They don't they
- 39:50Speaker 1: don't want it enough, And frankly, I kind of get it.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I kind of get it. So I am of course
- 40:01Speaker 1: going to be over here, like if she didn't think
- 40:04Speaker 1: to go talk to her father and her father didn't
- 40:06Speaker 1: decide to pay her the courtesy of actually speaking to her,
- 40:11Speaker 1: fuck them. I guess they're just estranged. Now. I guess
- 40:16Speaker 1: that's it, but it can't be. I guess. I don't know.
- 40:24Speaker 1: And look, maybe coming down the line, there's going to
- 40:27Speaker 1: be a moment where we find out King Riko did
- 40:29Speaker 1: decide to let her be part of things, and that
- 40:31Speaker 1: her father is part of the court too, and that
- 40:33Speaker 1: this is all and everything will be the way that
- 40:36Speaker 1: I'm talking. But the way that this raptid did not
- 40:39Speaker 1: feel like there was more to this plot be it
- 40:42Speaker 1: felt like we were finishing up with the two of them,
- 40:45Speaker 1: and that him saying she's just like her mother to
- 40:51Speaker 1: Violah about her giving up her crown, that felt like it,
- 40:57Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. So so I also like
- 41:06Speaker 1: the fact that this whole thing has to happen. It
- 41:10Speaker 1: has to create this moment where she gets captured by
- 41:17Speaker 1: Loofy so to speak. So everybody thinks the princess has
- 41:22Speaker 1: been abducted by one of the straw hats, It was
- 41:28Speaker 1: just another moment of me really hating these two people because,
- 41:33Speaker 1: like the straw hats, it's wild to me that Rebecca
- 41:38Speaker 1: is getting dressed and there is a maid there when
- 41:41Speaker 1: Lufy comes calling for her, and this maid says something like,
- 41:45Speaker 1: don't talk to him, He's just a filthy pirate, And
- 41:50Speaker 1: you guys know how I felt about the townsfolk like
- 41:52Speaker 1: not giving Lufy his flowers, and this lady I was
- 41:56Speaker 1: ready to slap her, like do you know who this
- 41:58Speaker 1: fucking is? Are you serious? It just meant, I think,
- 42:02Speaker 1: to underline how unwelcome Kiros would be at court, but
- 42:07Speaker 1: it just makes me dislike everybody here instead of making
- 42:11Speaker 1: me think like it's doing the thing that dress Rosa's
- 42:17Speaker 1: crowd work has done in the past, where I've kind
- 42:21Speaker 1: of been like, maybe we should just let these people
- 42:22Speaker 1: die since they ain't shit, so everybody, like the fact
- 42:29Speaker 1: that Rebecca and Kiros cannot be bothered to actually speak
- 42:32Speaker 1: to one another in person results in Lovie doing something
- 42:37Speaker 1: that like tarnishes his name and reputation even further, which
- 42:42Speaker 1: is infuriating. So then it gives an excuse to all
- 42:47Speaker 1: of the Marines to go after him, because who knows
- 42:51Speaker 1: what he's up to. As one of them says, this
- 42:53Speaker 1: is what happens when you let pirates just do whatever
- 42:56Speaker 1: the hell they want. I think that this is even
- 43:02Speaker 1: more than do Flamingo's fight with Lufy going on for
- 43:05Speaker 1: too long. I think this is the most disappointing part
- 43:10Speaker 1: of this arc is how inconstant everybody is all the time.
- 43:17Speaker 1: And I understand to a degree with this genre and
- 43:21Speaker 1: the way that the story is just like it has
- 43:24Speaker 1: to keep going, that maybe there's a feeling of having
- 43:29Speaker 1: to be able to turn on a dime to just
- 43:31Speaker 1: get a plot beat going, but it just makes everybody
- 43:36Speaker 1: involved in this whole thing feel like children who are
- 43:41Speaker 1: so fickle and capricious about who they trust and are
- 43:46Speaker 1: rooting for that I am not really rooting for any
- 43:51Speaker 1: of them anymore. It feels like they've been given a
- 43:55Speaker 1: gift in being rescued that they neither earned nor deserve.
- 44:00Speaker 1: And that includes like the Marines, of course, because like,
- 44:07Speaker 1: these dudes came in and fixed your fuck up, and
- 44:10Speaker 1: now you're trying to catch them and doing the whole like, oh, well,
- 44:14Speaker 1: they're just pirates. Yeah, well, you're just a meathead soldier
- 44:18Speaker 1: who fucked up everything for years and helped nobody. I
- 44:26Speaker 1: just don't I don't like how I have come to
- 44:29Speaker 1: feel about the like what is the word I want?
- 44:34Speaker 1: The bystanders in everything, It feels like they're really only
- 44:40Speaker 1: being given moments of being terribly afraid because the thing
- 44:45Speaker 1: is happening to them, or being terribly afraid because a
- 44:49Speaker 1: person is somebody that they maybe don't trust. And there's
- 44:53Speaker 1: been like a few brief glimpses of them working together
- 44:57Speaker 1: or supporting the king for a moment or what, but
- 45:01Speaker 1: it's really been too far between, and it's been too
- 45:06Speaker 1: brief when it does happen, And so now at this point,
- 45:12Speaker 1: I'm just sort of like, maybe we should just build
- 45:14Speaker 1: some ships and get everybody off Dress Rosa and level
- 45:18Speaker 1: the place and just send them far and wide and
- 45:21Speaker 1: get them mixed in with other rational people, because there
- 45:26Speaker 1: have been plenty of populations we've been around where people
- 45:29Speaker 1: have been fickle, But I don't think we have ever
- 45:33Speaker 1: seen the number of back and forths that we have
- 45:37Speaker 1: seen at Dress Rosa with any other group like of
- 45:42Speaker 1: the public. I feel like this has been the most inconsistent,
- 45:48Speaker 1: wildly like pendulous group, and I'm just quickly reaching, are
- 45:56Speaker 1: you guys, like at large a sort of not at
- 46:00Speaker 1: large writ large Rebecca and Kiros, where you just can't
- 46:07Speaker 1: be bothered to fucking do anything and somebody else always
- 46:10Speaker 1: has to step in and make things happen for you.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Is that what's going on? Because like that just means
- 46:18Speaker 1: that I feel about them the way I do about
- 46:20Speaker 1: Rebecca and Kiros, which is fuck them again. So all
- 46:25Speaker 1: in all, I just was really, really deeply disappointed with
- 46:32Speaker 1: the direction that, like practically every plot point took in
- 46:36Speaker 1: these three episodes. I thought we were heading in a
- 46:39Speaker 1: certain direction, and we just wound up going back to
- 46:43Speaker 1: the status quo in every sense, And there isn't even
- 46:49Speaker 1: a convincing reason why in almost any case except for
- 46:53Speaker 1: that it was like there was the least opposition to
- 46:58Speaker 1: it to just go back to doing we had already
- 47:00Speaker 1: been doing the path of least resistance and everything that
- 47:06Speaker 1: was at least a little interesting, but to me almost
- 47:09Speaker 1: felt like, well that's a bit trophy, but you know,
- 47:12Speaker 1: I was willing to go with it anyway. We didn't
- 47:15Speaker 1: even get We got something worse that I hadn't considered,
- 47:21Speaker 1: which is no forward movement on a lot of characters
- 47:25Speaker 1: and a lot of plot points of any kind and
- 47:28Speaker 1: just completely rewinding back to how things were before Do
- 47:32Speaker 1: Flamingo showed up. I mean, that sucks. That just sucks.
- 47:41Speaker 1: The only bright spot there's two bright spots in these
- 47:45Speaker 1: three episodes. One of them is Sengoku talking to Law
- 47:52Speaker 1: and we get to see that it turns out he
- 47:55Speaker 1: was really close with Cora, and he says to Law
- 48:02Speaker 1: like I could tell he was special. He was just
- 48:05Speaker 1: you know, I'd worked with other cis before, but this
- 48:08Speaker 1: one was different. And he remembers the moment where he
- 48:15Speaker 1: found out that Kora had died and kind of throws
- 48:19Speaker 1: it in Law's face a little bit, and it's basically like,
- 48:22Speaker 1: he died for you, and I don't know if it
- 48:26Speaker 1: was worth it, basically like what did he die for?
- 48:30Speaker 1: And Law says, he died giving me my desire to
- 48:38Speaker 1: live back like I didn't have it. I didn't care
- 48:42Speaker 1: about anybody or anything, and I didn't trust anybody, and
- 48:50Speaker 1: he died in order to restore my desire to live
- 48:55Speaker 1: and give me a chance. And that's why I came here.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Because it's Do Flamingo who fucking killed him, and he
- 49:04Speaker 1: deserves to be avenged. And Amen, amen, brother. I was like,
- 49:13Speaker 1: you know, Sengoku, obviously our man is retired. He is
- 49:17Speaker 1: not like in the mix, so I'm not sure how
- 49:21Speaker 1: much convincing him of anything is like necessarily going to
- 49:25Speaker 1: be super helpful. But I will say that I liked
- 49:30Speaker 1: very much having somebody who was a marine. Seemed like
- 49:38Speaker 1: they were invested personally in what happened in dress Rosa
- 49:42Speaker 1: more than in just the like you know, do Flamingo,
- 49:47Speaker 1: A bad guy who was supposed to be our ally
- 49:49Speaker 1: was here and abused his power. This is here's the
- 49:54Speaker 1: guy who killed somebody that I really liked and grew
- 49:57Speaker 1: close to. And maybe I feel a bit of a
- 50:00Speaker 1: way about him getting taken out for reasons other than
- 50:05Speaker 1: what's on public record, and I think that's kind of
- 50:08Speaker 1: a nice touch. I wish that this had been true
- 50:11Speaker 1: of somebody who was a little bit more in the mix.
- 50:16Speaker 1: That would have I don't know, that would have been
- 50:18Speaker 1: potentially maybe interesting, but what can you do? Overall, though
- 50:25Speaker 1: I did like those moments, and I also there so
- 50:30Speaker 1: the Marines are like running all over trying to catch
- 50:33Speaker 1: all the straw hats, trying to find other guys and
- 50:36Speaker 1: take down Loofy, and there comes. There's a few different
- 50:41Speaker 1: moments where like one area has already been taken and
- 50:46Speaker 1: the guy calls and basically gets that, like Hans solo,
- 50:50Speaker 1: everything fine here, situation normal, how are you? And it
- 50:56Speaker 1: was very funny. He finally asks the guy what's your
- 50:58Speaker 1: marine code? And the guy goes, my what uh, let's
- 51:05Speaker 1: see and the guy is just like shit, they got
- 51:08Speaker 1: taken over, and that was a funny moment, and then
- 51:11Speaker 1: even better, in my opinion, later on, they try and
- 51:15Speaker 1: like fire their weapons, and the Tantata, it turns out,
- 51:21Speaker 1: have like taken all of the gunpowder and the bullets
- 51:24Speaker 1: and their knives and swords and everything as well, so
- 51:28Speaker 1: they have absolutely nothing in the way of weapons, and
- 51:32Speaker 1: we get to see Leo who used his sewing ability
- 51:37Speaker 1: to sew some ships together, and because they don't have knives,
- 51:42Speaker 1: they can't cut them apart. I adored this. I really
- 51:48Speaker 1: like the Tantata just being out here messing with things
- 51:51Speaker 1: and performing like gorilla warfare, and the idea of like
- 51:57Speaker 1: just sewing ships together. I love it because it's extremely disruptive,
- 52:03Speaker 1: but when he decides to undo it, the ships will
- 52:07Speaker 1: be fine. It's not even really very destructive at all.
- 52:12Speaker 1: It's just disruptive, which finding a way to do that
- 52:17Speaker 1: is a pretty tricky thing, and it was such a
- 52:20Speaker 1: simple solution. It was so elegant, you know. So the tantata,
- 52:28Speaker 1: there's also a moment with mal Sherry and she is taught.
- 52:35Speaker 1: I can't remember what the name of the old man
- 52:38Speaker 1: character is, who is like her advisor. He's the one
- 52:41Speaker 1: that no matter what she does, he basically starts weeping
- 52:44Speaker 1: and talking about how compassionate and merciful she is, or
- 52:47Speaker 1: how intelligent she is or whatever. But she is continuing
- 52:52Speaker 1: to peel people. And I can't remember what it is
- 52:56Speaker 1: circumstantially in that moment that she's asking him like a
- 53:00Speaker 1: are you sure we're still allowed to do this? And
- 53:03Speaker 1: he says, don't worry, We've gotten permission, and then he
- 53:07Speaker 1: like whispers from Kiros. So obviously she isn't really supposed
- 53:15Speaker 1: to be doing the thing. The permission that they got
- 53:19Speaker 1: was not the permission that they would really need, but
- 53:22Speaker 1: he is keeping that to himself. I can't remember what
- 53:26Speaker 1: it is that he's worried about. But I just liked
- 53:29Speaker 1: getting to check in with Macherry. I wish that she
- 53:31Speaker 1: was in things like there is such a great satisfaction
- 53:34Speaker 1: in seeing her set things right and fix people's injuries
- 53:37Speaker 1: and stuff, So I'd be very down for a little
- 53:43Speaker 1: bit more of her peppered into this, you know. So
- 53:51Speaker 1: that's pretty much it with the Tantata, and I'm trying
- 53:53Speaker 1: to think if there's anybody else because we don't check
- 53:55Speaker 1: in with the other straw Hats on that other island
- 53:58Speaker 1: at all in these three episodes, so I don't know
- 54:01Speaker 1: it's up there, and the fight between Lufy and is
- 54:09Speaker 1: show I don't like. I feel like I talked pretty
- 54:13Speaker 1: much about everything that happens in that there is I
- 54:21Speaker 1: feel like maybe this is setting a precedent. It's never happened,
- 54:27Speaker 1: but we have the moment where even Bartolomeo is going, hey, Lufy,
- 54:34Speaker 1: are you sure you want to fight this guy? Now?
- 54:39Speaker 1: Here's the thing everybody, and I really want to like
- 54:43Speaker 1: emphasize I understand in a way why this is happening,
- 54:51Speaker 1: but I want to point out why it doesn't really
- 54:54Speaker 1: work for me. There's this whole thing with Fujiitura just
- 55:00Speaker 1: deciding to come in and fight the straw Hats and
- 55:02Speaker 1: stop them from leaving and fight Loufy and all this
- 55:06Speaker 1: the reaction that everybody has to is show being the
- 55:11Speaker 1: one who shows up. They all behave like, oh, I
- 55:17Speaker 1: guess Rescrewed will never beat him instantly, and then say
- 55:22Speaker 1: the same thing to Lufy basically like this is not
- 55:24Speaker 1: a fight you're gonna be able to win. Did is
- 55:31Speaker 1: Show ever go up against Do Flamingo directly? He never did, right,
- 55:41Speaker 1: because what I was had been going to say was
- 55:46Speaker 1: that Fujitaura's like, yes, he is obviously incredibly powerful and
- 55:55Speaker 1: a huge badass, but Loofy beat Doe Flamingo. I don't
- 56:04Speaker 1: really think that everybody being so cautious about Loufy beating
- 56:09Speaker 1: Fujitura makes a lot of sense. I don't know. Maybe
- 56:14Speaker 1: I'm supposed to accept the Fujitura is definitely a step
- 56:17Speaker 1: above Do Flamingo, and I am willing to accept being
- 56:25Speaker 1: told that, And maybe that I'm supposed to have inferred
- 56:29Speaker 1: that from him being called an emperor by somebody. So
- 56:32Speaker 1: maybe that's what's happening there, is that it's supposed to
- 56:35Speaker 1: point out just like how much higher level he is,
- 56:38Speaker 1: and it wasn't like he actually fought Do Flamingo and lost.
- 56:45Speaker 1: He never fought Do Flamingo. But if he did fight
- 56:53Speaker 1: him and he lost, Loofy beat Do Flamingo, so Lufy
- 56:57Speaker 1: still wins if we're gonna go by these metrics. Or
- 57:02Speaker 1: he didn't fight do Flamingo, but he could have and
- 57:10Speaker 1: he would have won, which if I'm meant to accept,
- 57:15Speaker 1: that is very annoying because that means all of this
- 57:21Speaker 1: could have been handled by somebody who later apologizes for
- 57:24Speaker 1: not doing anything. And I was thinking of this as
- 57:30Speaker 1: much more a holistic apologies on behalf of all of
- 57:34Speaker 1: the Marines apology. But if it's I'm apologizing because I
- 57:39Speaker 1: personally could have done something too as one of the
- 57:44Speaker 1: four emperors, that's going to make me hate this man
- 57:49Speaker 1: even more. Frankly, that you were wasting your time dropping
- 57:55Speaker 1: meteors on Sabo's head when you could have been steamrolling
- 58:01Speaker 1: Do Flamingo. Either way, it's bad, whatever the results. Bernadette
- 58:14Speaker 1: says he couldn't fight Dophie since d'fhie was a warlord.
- 58:17Speaker 1: So that's what I thought was that he had never
- 58:19Speaker 1: gone up against him. But honestly, it's looking like he
- 58:24Speaker 1: could have beaten him, and there were so many opportunities
- 58:27Speaker 1: where he had started to realize like we were wrong
- 58:31Speaker 1: about this and could have stepped in and done something
- 58:37Speaker 1: and been a formidable threat to do flamingo, so I
- 58:42Speaker 1: hold him an even greater contempt with this revelation. I
- 58:48Speaker 1: just cannot stand this man, I really, you know, it's
- 58:52Speaker 1: like it's such a shame. But everything he does contradicts
- 58:56Speaker 1: everything else he does, and I just cannot respect that.
- 58:59Speaker 1: There's a degree to which I can understand because we're
- 59:02Speaker 1: all human beings who don't always uphold our own ideals
- 59:05Speaker 1: and that's just life. But with him, it's like, I
- 59:10Speaker 1: don't even think he understands what his own ideals are
- 59:12Speaker 1: in the first place. You know, I don't know, okay.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Bernadette says, also, the four emperors are pirates. A marine
- 59:22Speaker 1: can't be an emperor, so Bernadette helped me out. I
- 59:25Speaker 1: don't know. This may be a translation issue. It may
- 59:29Speaker 1: just be that the way it was translated it's not
- 59:31Speaker 1: really correct. But in the dub somebody definitely calls him
- 59:37Speaker 1: an emperor when he starts gearing up. They and he's
- 59:43Speaker 1: got like the buildings in the air and stuff, and
- 59:46Speaker 1: somebody says, like, witness the power of an emperor or
- 59:48Speaker 1: something like that, And it, like I said, might be
- 59:53Speaker 1: just that it got translated a little bit inaccurately and
- 59:56Speaker 1: it made it confusing. Or is there something else here?
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Maybe I'm not even supposed to know. Maybe I'm not
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: really meant to have zeroed in on that little comment
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: as much as I have, and or maybe it's just
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: them kind of being like, you know, when somebody is like, oh,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: you're the king of baking because you made some really
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: awesome muffins, maybe they're just basically like, look how fucking
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: skilled he is. He's on top. He's an emperor, you
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: know what I mean. I don't know, but it just
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: caught my attention and I didn't think that it made
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: sense he could be an emperor. But I also was like,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: I don't know fully how a lot of this works
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: and if the rules that I understand it are actually
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: the rules, so you know, who knows what's true or
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: what's allowed. But anyway, all right, I really do have
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: to wrap this one up. I'm sorry to be so
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: angry and negative throughout this one, guys, but like, I
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: apologize for maybe disappointing you if you were looking forward
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: to my reactions here, but I do not apologize for
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: my reactions themselves, because I'm right and this sucks anyway.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: We'll have to see. Maybe I'll be proven wrong and
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: to have little faith because everything I ever wanted is
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: coming for me. We'll see. I wait with breath that
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: is baited. All right, everybody, until next time to the loom, motherfuckers.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: That was an Unspoiled Network podcast
