When a paralyzed man is brought before Jesus, everyone expects Him to heal the man's body. Yet Jesus begins with something far greater: "Take heart, my son; your sins are forgiven."
In the Gospel for the Nineteenth Sunday after Trinity, Jesus reveals that our greatest need is not simply relief from earthly suffering, but forgiveness and reconciliation with God.
