- 0:00When we want to help alleviate the suffering in the world, or
- 0:04help solve the general concerns or the more specific individual
- 0:09needs and wants, we come up with an endless number of ideas about
- 0:14how to help. From an outward perspective,
- 0:17these may be highly valuable and useful activities.
- 0:21Spiritual and religious organizations in particular tend
- 0:25to focus on feeding the hungry, healing and caring for the sick,
- 0:30providing shelter. These things help to mitigate
- 0:34some of the worst dislocations and imbalances in the world and
- 0:38how society functions. Others may be moved to work on
- 0:42the larger issues of climate change, pollution, fresh water
- 0:47supply, food to sustain large numbers of people residing in
- 0:51the world, as well as looking for ways to adapt the work and
- 0:56living environments to be more supportive of people and their
- 0:59needs and interests. Still others may be moved to
- 1:03tackle technological questions to help solve the issues we are
- 1:07all facing. Some may work on how to bring
- 1:11peace and understanding in the world, and others may work on
- 1:16bringing beauty and harmony through art, music, dance,
- 1:21writing, and entertainment media of various sorts.
- 1:26People obviously need to follow their passion and vision and
- 1:30carry out these and other worthwhile projects in the
- 1:33interests of supporting all of humanity.
- 1:36Yet none of these things actually solves the underlying
- 1:40issues. Rather, they act as a sort of
- 1:43bandage over the wounds that we create through our interactions
- 1:47with each other and our environment.
- 1:51The real solutions only come when we move beyond simply
- 1:55ameliorating harm already being caused to resolving the root
- 2:00causes. It is at this level that the
- 2:04mother counsels that the true help is a change of
- 2:07consciousness. This is not carried out through
- 2:11dogmatic expressions, argument, mental ideas, or any form of
- 2:16outward control, but through inward growth and change that
- 2:20works on the energetic levels of being.
- 2:25Many seekers have experienced the atmosphere of someone who is
- 2:29immersed in the spiritual consciousness.
- 2:32Legends across many cultures speak of souls who touched
- 2:35others simply by their presence, the energetic vibration they
- 2:39created in their surroundings. On an individual level, we can
- 2:44appreciate the power of the spiritual consciousness.
- 2:48The Mother indicates that for the spiritual seeker, the
- 2:52development of the spiritual consciousness and the natural
- 2:56effect it has on others is actually the best approach to
- 3:01aiding human development, as it creates a contagion effect and
- 3:06helps to transform life. At the level of root causes, we
- 3:13have heard about the 100th monkey phenomenon.
- 3:16We have had the concept of the nuosphere explained as a reason
- 3:20why the same invention tends to pop up in widely diverse places
- 3:25around the same time. We are clear that vibrations of
- 3:29consciousness are universal, traverse the entire planet, and
- 3:34can impact people from a distance, particularly as they
- 3:39move away from purely physical and vital vibrations to the more
- 3:43subtle, powerful levels of mind and eventually the spiritual
- 3:48consciousness. Thus, it is clearly reasonable
- 3:53to accept that as individuals begin to vibrate under the force
- 3:56of the spiritual consciousness, they are helping to raise up the
- 4:00vibratory level and energetic responsiveness of all of
- 4:05humanity. It is this type of change,
- 4:08similar to what the mental force did to the physical and vital
- 4:12planes, that we can expect from the full advent and
- 4:16manifestation of the spiritual consciousness as we mature and
- 4:22begin to experience that level with more completeness and
- 4:26intensity. The Mother notes quote.
- 4:31It is these people the mental being does not understand.
- 4:35So long as one is in the mental consciousness, even the Highest,
- 4:40and sees the spiritual life from outside, one judges with one's
- 4:45mental faculties, with the habit of seeking, erring, correcting,
- 4:51progressing and seeking once again.
- 4:54And one thinks that those who are in the spiritual life suffer
- 4:57from the same incapacity. But that is a very gross
- 5:01mistake. When the reversal of the being
- 5:06has taken place, all that is finished.
- 5:09One no longer seeks, one sees, one no longer deduces, one
- 5:14knows, one no longer gropes, one walks straight to the goal.
- 5:21And when one has gone farther, only a little farther, one
- 5:25knows, feels, lives. The supreme Truth.
- 5:31That the Supreme Truth alone acts, the Supreme Lord alone
- 5:36wills, knows, and does through human being.
- 5:42How could there be any possibility of error there?
- 5:45What He does, He does because He wills to do it for our mistaken
- 5:51vision. These are perhaps
- 5:53incomprehensible actions, but they have a meaning and a name,
- 5:59and lead where they ought to lead.
- 6:03Silence. If one sincerely wants to help
- 6:08others and the world, the best thing one can do is to be
- 6:11oneself, what one wants others to be.
- 6:14Not only as an example, but because one becomes a center of
- 6:19radiating power which, by the very fact that it exists,
- 6:24compels the rest of the world to transform itself.
