- 0:09Speaker 1: Vice. Sure, it's hell lo lo loa loa low. Hello,
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to the Naughty but Nic Sham, your honest Rob Shooter,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and it is Wednesday morning.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Hello.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Hello. Normally every Wednesday, our dear friend Donnie Meacham joins us.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Donnie's not going to be able to join us the day,
- 0:26Speaker 1: but don't worry, because we've got a very very special guest,
- 0:30Speaker 1: a dear friend of mine. In fact, if you've been
- 0:32Speaker 1: following my career since the remain days that Derek can
- 0:36Speaker 1: remain days, you will recognize this voice. It's a blast
- 0:40Speaker 1: from the radio past, but not from the past in
- 0:42Speaker 1: my life. I see her every week, my dear friend
- 0:44Speaker 1: Valerie Greenberg. Value there.
- 0:46Speaker 2: This is such a joy to join you right now
- 0:49Speaker 2: because it's true we're friends, we're family, and the fact
- 0:52Speaker 2: that we're back together right now on your show, it's
- 0:55Speaker 2: just everything is full circle.
- 0:56Speaker 1: We have a very special reason that val is on
- 0:58Speaker 1: the show today, which we will get a little later
- 1:01Speaker 1: in the show. It's going to be a nicest of
- 1:02Speaker 1: the day list. Jump in. What time is it? My friends?
- 1:05Speaker 1: And is let me hear you're singing along? It is
- 1:06Speaker 1: tee time? Okay. Big story at the top of the show.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Listen to this foul. So Taylor Swift is been accused
- 1:13Speaker 1: of cheating to break sale records. So Taylor Swift, she's
- 1:17Speaker 1: got a new CD out. It is selling really, really well.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But do you know who sold the most albums in
- 1:24Speaker 1: one week? Who is the pop artist in history that
- 1:28Speaker 1: has sold the most albums in their debut week. Everyone
- 1:31Speaker 1: thinks it's Michael Jackson, or maybe it's Madonna or Metallica,
- 1:35Speaker 1: Rolling Stones. No, it's Adele. Adele sold over three million
- 1:40Speaker 1: copies back in twenty fifteen, and now Taylor looks like
- 1:45Speaker 1: she's gonna sell about two point seven. So to push
- 1:48Speaker 1: her to the head of the pack, to push her
- 1:51Speaker 1: to number one, what has she done? She's reduced the price.
- 1:54Speaker 1: The Life of a show Girl is now four ninety
- 1:56Speaker 1: nine on iTunes, so she's made a ton of money.
- 1:59Speaker 1: It's already sold two two and a half million copies.
- 2:01Speaker 1: But to get that extra half a million copies, to
- 2:04Speaker 1: squeeze it out of us all she's reduced the price.
- 2:07Speaker 1: There's some people are saying that's not right, that is cheating.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I think all fair. It's not breaking the rules. This
- 2:14Speaker 1: is going to count. You can put your album or
- 2:17Speaker 1: whatever price you want. It's not set in stone. Congress
- 2:20Speaker 1: doesn't fix the price for albums now. And so what
- 2:22Speaker 1: do you think about this? It's a little sneaky, I
- 2:24Speaker 1: give her that, but I sort of admire her. What
- 2:26Speaker 1: do you think?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Say?
- 2:27Speaker 2: But I think it's quite clever. And listen, she is
- 2:29Speaker 2: a businesswoman at heart, Like she likes to have fun
- 2:32Speaker 2: with us, and she knows exactly what she's doing. And
- 2:35Speaker 2: guess what, like she doesn't need the extra money, so
- 2:39Speaker 2: she can do whatever she wants to break those sales
- 2:42Speaker 2: and attain those records. I mean, do I think Adele
- 2:47Speaker 2: and competing artists might be a little upset about this?
- 2:50Speaker 3: At the end of the day, we all have a
- 2:52Speaker 3: little bit of ego, so it probably is irking them.
- 2:56Speaker 2: And I mean, I don't want Swifties to come out,
- 2:58Speaker 2: Swifties to come after me. But I'm up sessed with Adele.
- 3:01Speaker 2: I've seen her live multiple times. Her personality is incredible,
- 3:05Speaker 2: her voice is unmatched, and well we're all so excited
- 3:09Speaker 2: for Taylor and how she's just released this new album.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I mean, this is like really really genius.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It's really smart, it really easy.
- 3:18Speaker 2: What if I said, Okay, well, I'm going to do
- 3:20Speaker 2: whatever Rob. I'm trying to emulate what Rob's doing, but
- 3:22Speaker 2: at a lower price.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Come on, I pay more for what you're doing, Valorie,
- 3:28Speaker 1: much more than what I get in paid for this.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But I do think you're right here, and it's really
- 3:31Speaker 1: rich people problems like Adele's fine, everybody, don't worry. Adela's solved.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Three million copies of records?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Are there anything else?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Absolutely, records are there to be broken. And so this
- 3:42Speaker 1: pushes her over the edge of a little bit. Then
- 3:45Speaker 1: that's fine too. It's like movies.
- 3:47Speaker 3: We pay more to this halfway Rob, we knew that. No,
- 3:50Speaker 3: she seemed to win it, and anticipation right to win it.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, and she wants to be able to say that
- 3:55Speaker 1: she has sold the most records in the debut week
- 3:59Speaker 1: of that album. She's really really close. This might push
- 4:02Speaker 1: her over the edge either way. Here they are both
- 4:05Speaker 1: such big winners. I think this is sort of like
- 4:07Speaker 1: a storm in a tea cup. Is that what it's called?
- 4:09Speaker 1: That expression? I think that's what it is interesting too.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Expression you say is right.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Thank you Hi. I don't think that's totally true, but
- 4:18Speaker 1: I will go with it. And also to be spotted
- 4:19Speaker 1: her last night on TV. On Monday night, she was
- 4:21Speaker 1: on Jimmy Fallon. It was fascinating because she literally took
- 4:25Speaker 1: all sorts of questions. I love this game where you
- 4:27Speaker 1: ask a celebrity about a rumor because it allows you
- 4:29Speaker 1: to bring up a crazy story. So she was happy
- 4:31Speaker 1: to talk about rumors. She said yes to some, no
- 4:34Speaker 1: to others. However, there was one rumor, the biggest rumor
- 4:37Speaker 1: about Taylor Swift that wasn't mentioned. I'm told that it
- 4:40Speaker 1: was not allowed to be mentioned, Blake Lively. No mention
- 4:44Speaker 1: of the friendship or the lack of the friendship with
- 4:47Speaker 1: Blake Lively. I think this is a smart thing. She's
- 4:49Speaker 1: on TV selling her album. She's funny and charming. The
- 4:52Speaker 1: last thing she wants to do is get involved in
- 4:54Speaker 1: this Blake Lively really ugly legal?
- 4:56Speaker 3: Do you remove from it?
- 4:57Speaker 2: And if anyone was going to have the ability to
- 5:00Speaker 2: bring it up, it would have been Jimmy Fallon. I mean,
- 5:02Speaker 2: he said that he's been friends with her family, her
- 5:04Speaker 2: mom for so long, which is obviously why he landed
- 5:07Speaker 2: the interview. And you know as well as I do,
- 5:09Speaker 2: especially because you know you have that celebrity pr background,
- 5:11Speaker 2: as do I that publicists are literally going to say
- 5:17Speaker 2: what you can't say prior to even if you're an
- 5:20Speaker 2: a list like Jimmy.
- 5:22Speaker 1: A friend of yours, sent me a text this morning,
- 5:23Speaker 1: Jill Fritzo, a publicist friend, I wrote a nice story.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I know, I just I didn't even remember writing it.
- 5:30Speaker 1: But I wrote this nice story about one of her clients.
- 5:33Speaker 1: And she texted me this morning saying thank you. So listen, everybody,
- 5:37Speaker 1: those publicists are watching. Don't you be upsetting Taylor Swift,
- 5:40Speaker 1: which brings us to our whole question of the day.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Taylor Swift is being accused of cheating to break sale records.
- 5:48Speaker 1: She doesn't need to cheat. However, she is discounting her
- 5:51Speaker 1: CD on iTunes. It's now just four ninety nine. Is
- 5:55Speaker 1: this cheating? My goodness? Yes? Or no? Is it? Mackadine me?
- 5:59Speaker 1: She could be small. Some people might say cheeting. I
- 6:01Speaker 1: can't wait to find out. Hey, go vote naughty's on
- 6:04Speaker 1: our Twitter page at Naughty but Nice Rob. I forgot
- 6:07Speaker 1: the rod part. Naughty but Nice Rob or a Facebook
- 6:09Speaker 1: page which is Naughty Gossip and be sure to check
- 6:12Speaker 1: that tomorrow to hear your results. Okay, moving a long,
- 6:15Speaker 1: Value've done a million red carpets, both as a reporter
- 6:18Speaker 1: and walking with celebrities and walking them yourself too. Jalo
- 6:21Speaker 1: and Ben had a spontaneous quote reunion on the Red
- 6:25Speaker 1: carpet last night. Insiders there telling me it was all stage.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So they're both at the Kiss of the Spider Woman
- 6:31Speaker 1: movie premiere. This movie is meant to be fantastic. Jennifer's
- 6:35Speaker 1: the star, but guess who's the producer, Oh, Ben Affleck.
- 6:38Speaker 1: So that's a little bit unfortunate. So Ben's production company
- 6:41Speaker 1: is behind this movie. In fact, Jennifer said, if it
- 6:43Speaker 1: wasn't for Ben, this movie would never have been made.
- 6:46Speaker 1: She's a huge star, but even Jlo has trouble raising
- 6:49Speaker 1: money for particularly these musicals which don't do so well.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And so it's a very complicated story. It's a very
- 6:56Speaker 1: dark movie. It is absolutely beautiful, but it's gonna be
- 6:59Speaker 1: a hard movie to sell. And so she said, if
- 7:01Speaker 1: it wasn't for Ben, it wouldn't have been made. Well,
- 7:03Speaker 1: guess what they were both on the red carpet last
- 7:06Speaker 1: night and they had a little chat and that the
- 7:08Speaker 1: press are going mad saying it was awkward. My sources
- 7:10Speaker 1: are telling me it was all planned. They knew exactly
- 7:13Speaker 1: the time he was arriving, and they knew exactly the
- 7:16Speaker 1: time she was arriving, and they wanted this classy civil
- 7:20Speaker 1: moment between the two of them. And let's be honest,
- 7:22Speaker 1: it's getting a ton of a press today for the movie.
- 7:25Speaker 1: So it really worked. We're talking about this movie that
- 7:28Speaker 1: we might not be talking about otherwise. We've done these carpets.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Now you know that when the celebrity arrived, it's not
- 7:35Speaker 1: an accident.
- 7:35Speaker 2: It's all planssed, It's all planned perfectly to a tea
- 7:39Speaker 2: And it was so interesting Rob because I pretty much knew,
- 7:42Speaker 2: like I would say, ninety percent of the people covering
- 7:44Speaker 2: the premiere last night, and I watched Ben's reaction as
- 7:49Speaker 2: like our friends in media were interviewing Tulo, and he almost.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Looked a little like stressed or frustrated.
- 7:55Speaker 2: He was like he was being interviewed by Access Hollywood,
- 7:57Speaker 2: and I saw he was like, are you gonna come
- 7:59Speaker 2: over now and take.
- 7:59Speaker 3: The picture with us?
- 8:00Speaker 2: It was like, then she's in the middle of an
- 8:01Speaker 2: interview and she's, you know, so wonderful and lovely to
- 8:05Speaker 2: the interviewee because she's poised this is her big moment.
- 8:09Speaker 2: It was interesting to weigh the way that he wanted her,
- 8:11Speaker 2: like right in that photo at that he.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Was needy, he felt she felt.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Really, I will say you played an instrumental part in
- 8:19Speaker 2: her come up without a doubt. We all know this
- 8:21Speaker 2: from your book, Jennifer Lopez, because you represented her. And
- 8:26Speaker 2: I just think that the way that she was so
- 8:29Speaker 2: even keeled, how she handled herself, quite the fact that
- 8:33Speaker 2: you know this was her personal life coming, you know,
- 8:36Speaker 2: recircling out even though she's trying to promote this film
- 8:39Speaker 2: because we all know what, maybe he doesn't get done
- 8:41Speaker 2: in days.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Yeah what What What this tells me too, is that
- 8:44Speaker 1: the relationships in an okay place. If it was in
- 8:46Speaker 1: a really bad place, they just wouldn't have done that
- 8:48Speaker 1: carpet together. He didn't really need to be there. She
- 8:50Speaker 1: wanted his star power. Although let's be honest, Jennifer's got
- 8:53Speaker 1: enough herself.
- 8:54Speaker 3: But I think this is going to help push this.
- 8:56Speaker 1: It makes it more exciting. We're talking yet we're talking
- 8:58Speaker 1: about movie star yea of the movie.
- 9:01Speaker 2: You're right, she really like she's all over the place,
- 9:04Speaker 2: she does everything with but he is like associated movie star.
- 9:09Speaker 3: That's like a subliminal message to us. Like I think
- 9:13Speaker 3: you're right. This is going to be great, because.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I think you're right. If Ben indorses it, it's going
- 9:17Speaker 1: to be great. You're right. If it's Jennifer, some people
- 9:20Speaker 1: can dismiss her as cheesy or silly or just.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Do anything shallow.
- 9:24Speaker 1: If you pay her, she'll turn up. But no, you
- 9:26Speaker 1: have been there for him to make this movie. He
- 9:29Speaker 1: is the producer. I hear, I hear. She could get
- 9:33Speaker 1: right now on the carpet. Absolutely, an Oscar nomination is
- 9:36Speaker 1: coming for jenn Okay. Moving along, the Royals are really
- 9:38Speaker 1: upset because a secret tunnel has been exposed. So I
- 9:41Speaker 1: actually think I knew about this, but I've never mentioned it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: There's a secret tunnel between between Saint James's Palace and
- 9:47Speaker 1: the five star Stamford Hotel in London. So it's over
- 9:50Speaker 1: one hundred years old. And this tunnel has been used
- 9:53Speaker 1: by everybody, including Queen Elizabeth the Second, her Mommy, lots
- 9:56Speaker 1: of celebrities, so you can get in and out of
- 9:58Speaker 1: the palace with that anybody finding hi. Princess Diana has
- 10:02Speaker 1: used it. Now the tunnel is sealed off and so
- 10:04Speaker 1: that's why they're talking about it now. It's a wine cellar,
- 10:07Speaker 1: but see the people in the Royal family are telling
- 10:09Speaker 1: me that they would have rather this stage classified. This
- 10:13Speaker 1: was a big secret in London, these underground tunnels and
- 10:17Speaker 1: how people can get in and out. I know here
- 10:18Speaker 1: in New York lots of celebrities like to stay at
- 10:21Speaker 1: the wallter Astoria because they have an underground car park,
- 10:24Speaker 1: and so if you don't want to be photographed walking
- 10:27Speaker 1: in and out of a hotel, you can go underground
- 10:29Speaker 1: also too. I think the Carlyle Hotel where Tom Cruise
- 10:32Speaker 1: stays and Harry and Meghan you are.
- 10:34Speaker 3: You and I go sometimes for something.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I love it. I think, I think all these secrets
- 10:40Speaker 1: val and we want to tell them because it's so
- 10:42Speaker 1: much fun to gossip about this stuff. I'm quite good
- 10:44Speaker 1: at keeping these type of secrets. Though. If you had
- 10:47Speaker 1: known about this tunnel, vow, would you have mentioned it
- 10:51Speaker 1: or would he be a secret for me?
- 10:52Speaker 2: I would have kept my mouth shut. I mean I
- 10:55Speaker 2: can keep a really like bring secret. I will say
- 10:58Speaker 2: I have a lot of things that I've kept close
- 11:00Speaker 2: to the vest over years. Even in my new book,
- 11:02Speaker 2: I don't reveal all of the secrets that I touch
- 11:05Speaker 2: on things. But you're a little naughtier than me.
- 11:08Speaker 1: So what about you? You know the dirty secret on me?
- 11:13Speaker 1: I can really keep a secret for somebody who makes
- 11:16Speaker 1: a living ad a gossipin and telling people's stories. I'm
- 11:18Speaker 1: really really good. If you look me in the eye
- 11:20Speaker 1: and say don't tell anybody, I won't until the moment's right,
- 11:23Speaker 1: and I'll ask you every day. Can I tell that secret?
- 11:25Speaker 1: Then I will bother you. But I wouldn't do it
- 11:28Speaker 1: unless you said yes. So with friends not celebrities. Don't
- 11:31Speaker 1: get me wrong, for I found had a big secret
- 11:33Speaker 1: on the Donna. I'm telling everybody. I mean, I'm not
- 11:35Speaker 1: my friend. But if a fan had a secret about
- 11:37Speaker 1: a friend, and I have got a few friends who
- 11:39Speaker 1: are a little bit famous, I can keep a secret. Okay,
- 11:42Speaker 1: moving along. Dwyane the Rock Johnson's really upset after this
- 11:46Speaker 1: movie flopped. So Dwayne the Rock has poured everything into
- 11:49Speaker 1: this project called The Smashing Machine. It's about an m
- 11:54Speaker 1: M A fighter. I'm not even sure what that mapters, right?
- 11:57Speaker 1: You got that in a cage a cage. Mark is
- 12:00Speaker 1: his real name, and so the Rock went through a
- 12:03Speaker 1: transformation to do this. He's often dismissed in Hollywood as
- 12:07Speaker 1: a silly sort of action star. He makes a lot
- 12:10Speaker 1: of money from movies. His movies making a lot of money,
- 12:12Speaker 1: but he wants to be taken seriously. He wants awards.
- 12:15Speaker 1: He did this amazing movie. I'm told it's fantastic. It
- 12:18Speaker 1: bombed at the box office. He's devastated about that. I
- 12:22Speaker 1: have friends that this has happened to as well. You
- 12:24Speaker 1: don't have to be in show business. But once you're
- 12:26Speaker 1: put into a box, once you're the happy friend, then
- 12:29Speaker 1: you're allowed to be sad. Once you're the sad friend,
- 12:32Speaker 1: then you're allowed to be happy. If you're the action star,
- 12:35Speaker 1: then you can't make an Oscar nominative movie. I would
- 12:38Speaker 1: love for us all to throw these boxes at but
- 12:40Speaker 1: I understand that probably ain't gonna happen.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yeah, that stigma, that association, it's hard to get rid of,
- 12:45Speaker 2: you know, the character you've played when that's what people
- 12:48Speaker 2: know you for. But like, he should not be crying
- 12:50Speaker 2: because he, like is one of the highest paid actors.
- 12:52Speaker 3: But I get it.
- 12:53Speaker 2: It's like, once you get to a point, it's like
- 12:54Speaker 2: where do you go from here? So that is a
- 12:56Speaker 2: disappointment because he probably did put us all into it.
- 12:59Speaker 2: He's a very couple guy. But an MMA fighting rob
- 13:02Speaker 2: like take it from the street girl that loves hot
- 13:04Speaker 2: hot men like you know with their shirts off. I
- 13:08Speaker 2: will say, like MMA fighting a snow joke. It is
- 13:12Speaker 2: far different from wrestling.
- 13:13Speaker 3: It is intense. You're not wearing like any like protection
- 13:16Speaker 3: over your head.
- 13:18Speaker 2: It gets it's raw, and even with all of his
- 13:21Speaker 2: star power, this is like a little disappointing.
- 13:24Speaker 1: It is a bit disappointing. But you know what, let's
- 13:26Speaker 1: not worry about him. As val said, he's got hundreds
- 13:28Speaker 1: of millions of dollars on the highest paid stars in
- 13:30Speaker 1: the world. And even though it didn't do well at
- 13:33Speaker 1: the box office, I think it did well enough for
- 13:35Speaker 1: a small movie. It's not Jurassic Park six million.
- 13:40Speaker 2: And a lot of successful films like look at what
- 13:42Speaker 2: happened with Anural last year, smooth, they won all They
- 13:45Speaker 2: start small and then they want all of the awards.
- 13:48Speaker 1: What's gonna happen here? And he's got the critics. The
- 13:50Speaker 1: critics loved it. It's like it's of the Spider Woman.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You can't compare that to a blockbuster. It's not mission impossible.
- 13:56Speaker 1: If it makes ten million dollars in the first week,
- 13:58Speaker 1: that'll be happy because it only cost thirteen million, and
- 14:01Speaker 1: so I when people are saying it tanked, it didn't
- 14:04Speaker 1: do the numbers that his normal movies do, but this
- 14:07Speaker 1: is not one of his normal movies. It's not Bang
- 14:10Speaker 1: Wallops smashed them up. It's really smart, it's really small.
- 14:14Speaker 1: So let's not count him out yet. And the critical
- 14:16Speaker 1: response has been fabulous. Okay, quickly, before we go to break.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Nicole Kidman showed up at the Chanelle's show because she
- 14:25Speaker 1: wanted to.
- 14:25Speaker 2: So.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Nicole is a spokesperson for Chanell. She's paid millions of
- 14:29Speaker 1: dollars after the scandal broke. After her divorce broke, Chanelle
- 14:32Speaker 1: told her she didn't have to come, so they pay
- 14:35Speaker 1: her bills. And part of her contract is to sit
- 14:38Speaker 1: for a fashion week in Paris. They want celebrities there,
- 14:41Speaker 1: they want movie stars there. They pay her tens of
- 14:43Speaker 1: millions of dollars to promote Chanelle. She had to be there,
- 14:47Speaker 1: but they said, and this is kind of sweet. I
- 14:49Speaker 1: like this. There's a lot going on in your private life.
- 14:52Speaker 1: If you don't want to come this week, this just
- 14:54Speaker 1: goes to show you her work commitment. She said, I'm coming.
- 14:57Speaker 2: She turned up, but also she brought her which I
- 15:00Speaker 2: thought they probably wanted to go. I mean, it's not
- 15:03Speaker 2: the toughest gig in the world to get out of
- 15:06Speaker 2: bed for to get paid.
- 15:08Speaker 3: To go sit at Chanel. So like pooh pooh, I'm
- 15:11Speaker 3: sad for you. But I mean it was.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Like a fun girls say out with your daughter.
- 15:14Speaker 1: Me and my mom.
- 15:15Speaker 3: We go to TJ Max, they go to Chanel. It
- 15:18Speaker 3: all works, you know.
- 15:19Speaker 1: It all works. And we're gonna take a quick break
- 15:21Speaker 1: and we shall be right back. Welcome back to the
- 15:26Speaker 1: Naughty but Night Show. I'm your host, Rom Shooter's idea friend,
- 15:29Speaker 1: Valerie Greenbook. Hey, val, let's get to the polls that
- 15:31Speaker 1: dad are. Last show we talked about Prince William has
- 15:34Speaker 1: exploded over Megan Markle's insensitive Paris video. Let's just call
- 15:39Speaker 1: it that. She's in Paris by the tunnel where Diana died,
- 15:43Speaker 1: and she posts a video in the back of a car.
- 15:45Speaker 1: She's in a limo with her feet stretched out. It's
- 15:48Speaker 1: not the best look. In fact, it's a very bad look.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Should she apologize? Let's have a look? Seventy percent said yes.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I actually think if she said I was thoughtless. This
- 15:56Speaker 1: was really insensitive and I really regretted I think that
- 15:59Speaker 1: would be the best way to go so far silence.
- 16:01Speaker 1: But I agree with you Naughtie's I think an apology
- 16:04Speaker 1: would actually help her here.
- 16:05Speaker 2: What do you think, val I think an apology would
- 16:07Speaker 2: be awesome, But I don't think she's gonna own it.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I think she's just gonna stay up as far from
- 16:11Speaker 2: it as possible. And you know, a lot of the
- 16:13Speaker 2: things she does is kind of like that, with trying
- 16:15Speaker 2: to create all these programs and stuff and the Netflix show.
- 16:17Speaker 2: She's just very much in her own head. And like,
- 16:19Speaker 2: I think that Diana should be honored and she should
- 16:22Speaker 2: make an apology.
- 16:24Speaker 1: No, I would make an apology if you're listening. If
- 16:26Speaker 1: you're listening, al Megan, we've spoken, you know what we
- 16:29Speaker 1: think you should do. Hey, don't forget to vote on
- 16:31Speaker 1: today's poul Go to our Twitter page at Naughty Nice Rob.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Her facebook page is Naughty Gossip and be sure to
- 16:37Speaker 1: check going tomorrow and to hear your results. And now,
- 16:40Speaker 1: oh it's time for and nicest of the day. Let
- 16:44Speaker 1: me tell you and nicest of the day is my
- 16:46Speaker 1: friend Valerie Greenberg, who has just published her first amazing
- 16:52Speaker 1: self help book. Congratulations, Well, tell us what this book.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Is about rob How kind are you so? My new book,
- 16:59Speaker 2: You've Been Valid, a playbook for confidence and connection, is
- 17:02Speaker 2: all about honing in on your superpowers, really figuring out
- 17:06Speaker 2: by sharing strategies, how you can connect with people. Even
- 17:10Speaker 2: if you're an introvert or an ambrovert, you know somebody
- 17:12Speaker 2: who's like on the cusp. It is all about being
- 17:16Speaker 2: your own best friend. And as a natural born cheerleader
- 17:19Speaker 2: for others, I'm leaning into my superpower to help others.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Really own a room and seeing who's around you, you
- 17:25Speaker 2: can create all these meaningful connections. Yeah, you, sir, are
- 17:30Speaker 2: in the book as one of my contributors that I
- 17:32Speaker 2: can refer to as my confidence community.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Oh I like that. Thank you. I am thrilled to
- 17:37Speaker 1: be in the book. Thank you for asking me. But
- 17:38Speaker 1: You've got some wonderful people in the book, Me and
- 17:40Speaker 1: Bevy Smith, lots of others of your friends. What's the
- 17:44Speaker 1: takeaway from this book? Val? It's an easy book to read.
- 17:47Speaker 1: I read it over the weekend, a couple of hours
- 17:49Speaker 1: on the carriage. It's a fun, easy, breezy read and
- 17:52Speaker 1: you come away thinking so much. It really charges up
- 17:55Speaker 1: your brain. What do you want the takeaway?
- 17:57Speaker 2: To be val Grit, tenacity, and hustle is so respected.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I didn't come from any connections, and this is a
- 18:04Speaker 2: little bit about my personal story, but more so it's
- 18:07Speaker 2: about getting out of your own way, recognizing that you
- 18:10Speaker 2: can turn a no to a nod that's right, a
- 18:13Speaker 2: horizontal headshake to a vertical one meaning you can get
- 18:17Speaker 2: that yes, meaning that no one can get in your
- 18:19Speaker 2: way if you take out the equation that things are
- 18:22Speaker 2: personal and just go for it, because no one can
- 18:27Speaker 2: stop you from achieving your dreams but yourself. And if
- 18:30Speaker 2: you assemble a confidence community who I refer to as
- 18:33Speaker 2: my contributors. This is anybody in your inner circle that
- 18:36Speaker 2: inspires you, that keeps it real like you do with me, Rob,
- 18:39Speaker 2: and that allows you to be your best self. That
- 18:43Speaker 2: is what it's all about. You've been validated because the
- 18:45Speaker 2: only stamp of approval you need is your own, no
- 18:47Speaker 2: outside validation necessary.
- 18:50Speaker 1: That's so interesting. The title You've been Validated the book
- 18:53Speaker 1: is called you had Been Validated. It's not about vow
- 18:57Speaker 1: validating you all, Rob Shooter. It's about you validating you.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And if you read this book, Val will teach you
- 19:04Speaker 1: how get the book. We're not going to do a
- 19:06Speaker 1: Naughtyus today. We're going to end with a moment of Rob.
- 19:09Speaker 1: You're gonna Rob, You get Rob, You got Rob. Adult
- 19:11Speaker 1: friendships need grace. People are busy and life gets loud,
- 19:15Speaker 1: and everyone's juggling work and family and all this chaos
- 19:18Speaker 1: in their lives. So less communication doesn't mean less love.
- 19:23Speaker 1: It just means that life is happening. Stop keeping score.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Stop assuming silence means distance. It doesn't. The real test
- 19:32Speaker 1: of a friendship isn't constant contact, it's consistent care. The
- 19:37Speaker 1: people who matter are the ones who show up when
- 19:40Speaker 1: it counts, not the ones that text every single day. Hey,
- 19:45Speaker 1: that is it for today. Thank you so much for
- 19:47Speaker 1: listening to the Naughty but Nice with Rob and Val Show.
- 19:50Speaker 1: We're a production of iHeartRadio and Elvis Duran. Don't forget
- 19:54Speaker 1: to subscribe on the iHeartRadio ap Apple podcasts wherever you listen,
- 19:57Speaker 1: Leave us a review by VAL's book, and remember altogether
- 20:01Speaker 1: Nice Singer Long. If you're going to be naughty, you've
- 20:04Speaker 1: got to be let me.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Nice.
- 20:08Speaker 1: All about yourself, marvelous pipping. It's not even nice with rows.
- 20:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna
