Billy Gibbons hailed him as not just a collaborator but a close friend and master musician whose Texas shuffle fueled classics like “La Grange” and “Tush.” The band, mid-tour, canceled shows in Salt Lake City and Colorado Springs, but plans to return in October with a special Austin City Limits run — a venue Frank loved and considered home.
