- 0:25Speaker 2: Meat Eater Associate producer and me Eater?
- 0:28Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 0:31Speaker 3: He's still figuring it out? Still figuring it out?
- 0:33Speaker 4: Started May eleventh. But it seems like almost a glorified
- 0:37Speaker 4: Troutway agent.
- 0:37Speaker 1: But okay. Strengths and weaknesses when it comes to Meat
- 0:42Speaker 1: Eater Trivia, Hunting, fishing, conservation, cooking, what do.
- 0:44Speaker 2: You think cooking? Dead last? Hunting first, conservation, second? What
- 0:49Speaker 2: was the third?
- 0:49Speaker 1: Fishing?
- 0:50Speaker 3: Fish?
- 0:50Speaker 2: Fishing? Yea third.
- 0:52Speaker 1: In Omar's slack profile picture, he's got a big old velvet.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Buck, first one ever. Oh, in his office it is.
- 1:00Speaker 2: But he's broken. He fell off the wall.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Happens?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Were you there when it happened?
- 1:05Speaker 3: No?
- 1:06Speaker 4: I was gone, And then my roommate's going like, dude,
- 1:07Speaker 4: you're gonna be pissed, but your deer fell off the wall,
- 1:10Speaker 4: and I'm like no, So he's been broken for like
- 1:13Speaker 4: a year, two years almost.
- 1:15Speaker 5: But he's got a plan to get it fixed.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yeah, we have a plan. Oh what's the plan, hayes John.
- 1:21Speaker 6: Oh, dude, I got a well, yeah, I got some
- 1:24Speaker 6: bucks on it.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Fixed up to it's a failed tax not the fire bucks.
- 1:29Speaker 5: You can't get the firebus.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Well, at least one of the firebug.
- 1:32Speaker 1: That looks like an artistic choice.
- 1:33Speaker 5: Well that's the good one. You haven't seen the bad one.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Okay. That Nate has a deer skull that looks like
- 1:39Speaker 1: it was set on fire.
- 1:40Speaker 6: Actually the other day I wasn't in here and you
- 1:43Speaker 6: guys had a diy taxidermy question. I'm telling him that
- 1:46Speaker 6: dude who wrote in do maceration. It's you can't mess
- 1:50Speaker 6: it up.
- 1:51Speaker 1: That's what Yanni's about these days.
- 1:52Speaker 5: You can mess up boiling.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I promise it is some good evidence of it. Ten
- 1:58Speaker 1: round quiz show with what on it?
- 2:00Speaker 3: So hard.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Tell what happened?
- 2:03Speaker 6: He ran out, No, I had I had a turkey.
- 2:06Speaker 6: Uh what's the like a turkey fire?
- 2:09Speaker 5: Thank you?
- 2:10Speaker 6: And as a fifteen minute cut off. I tried to
- 2:12Speaker 6: bypass the fifteen minute cut off because every fifteen minutes
- 2:14Speaker 6: I was going out there.
- 2:15Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I remember it didn't.
- 2:17Speaker 6: Work, and so like every fifteen minutes, I kept going
- 2:20Speaker 6: out there. We start a movie. I'm like, this will
- 2:24Speaker 6: be the last run. It'll go fifteen minutes and be done.
- 2:26Speaker 6: Two hours later I walk out there. It finally bypassed
- 2:30Speaker 6: the cutoff. There's no water in the bucket, the bottoms
- 2:34Speaker 6: melted out, and there's just flames coming out.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Of the deer.
- 2:39Speaker 6: Yeah, and so one of them's fine and one, I
- 2:41Speaker 6: mean they're both bad, but one of a kind.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Mount Well, there's two of them. Just one of them
- 2:45Speaker 5: is real, bro, So I need it fixed.
- 2:48Speaker 1: This is a ten round quiz show with questions from
- 2:50Speaker 1: meat Eater's four verticals, which are hunting, fishing, conservation, cooking.
- 2:54Speaker 1: There is a prize. Meat Eater will donate five hundred
- 2:56Speaker 1: dollars to the conservation organization of the Winter's Choosing. We
- 2:59Speaker 1: have a a bag question today. Send your mail bag
- 3:02Speaker 1: questions at Trivia at the meat eater dot com if
- 3:04Speaker 1: you have something you want the crew to answer. This
- 3:06Speaker 1: is from Jesse Vander Hayden. I'm a first generation hunter
- 3:10Speaker 1: and I'm wondering what is something that the crew enjoys
- 3:13Speaker 1: to see while hunting that isn't their intended gay man.
- 3:18Speaker 1: So an animal something? Yeah, sunrises.
- 3:22Speaker 5: I love hearing owls in the trees.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Stand.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 7: I like seeing rare stuff like if you're if you're
- 3:28Speaker 7: in Pennsylvania deer hunting, like a fisher comes running by,
- 3:32Speaker 7: or like if you're in Alaska and a wolverine comes
- 3:35Speaker 7: running by, or something.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Any small mammals. You know what I hate something armadillos.
- 3:42Speaker 6: Why do you hate m They sound identical to a deer,
- 3:46Speaker 6: but you cannot find them until they're like right under you.
- 3:50Speaker 8: I was gonna say, just a combine harvesting wheat.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Oh it's fall.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it just brings.
- 3:57Speaker 3: It back to fall. And yeah, a bunch of totally.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Waterfall food all over the place. I would say rocks
- 4:03Speaker 1: and mushrooms are my favorite things to see that are
- 4:06Speaker 1: not intended gay animal. It is predictable.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:09Speaker 1: This year Animal Punty in Montana found gypsum for the
- 4:11Speaker 1: first time. Not a rare thing, but I've never seen
- 4:14Speaker 1: it before. Elt in wild and then in South Dakota
- 4:17Speaker 1: I found some dinosaur bones and petrified woo while mule
- 4:20Speaker 1: deer hunting. And then early fall there's like some good
- 4:24Speaker 1: foraging to be had. Some of my favorite mushrooms, chicken
- 4:27Speaker 1: in the woods, and oysters. And then this year in Idaho,
- 4:29Speaker 1: I found an apple tree that just had like the
- 4:31Speaker 1: most delicious, biggest apples on a mountain and idol, that's awesome.
- 4:35Speaker 1: That was very exciting.
- 4:36Speaker 9: Did you set up and haunt that apple tree?
- 4:39Speaker 1: I haunted near it. Did not kill anything by it,
- 4:42Speaker 1: but it was like something that clearly everything in the
- 4:44Speaker 1: neighborhood was interested in. Any other answers for Jesse on
- 4:48Speaker 1: things you like to see while you're hunting shell casings,
- 4:51Speaker 1: old ones, like yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Yeah, it's still smoking. Six caves in the ground.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Okay, you don't want to find one like next to
- 4:59Speaker 1: a pile or something.
- 5:00Speaker 3: No, But I like finding old tarnished cases.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Seth has away cool, especially like your I feel like
- 5:07Speaker 1: you found it old. Oh yeah, cartridge that barely exists.
- 5:11Speaker 7: Yeah, it's I mean it's old to the point where
- 5:13Speaker 7: I can't even like, can't read find there's no.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Head stamp on it.
- 5:17Speaker 7: Oh straight wall car dream finding while you're hunting.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Oh that's true.
- 5:26Speaker 1: We have some housekeeping today on the Wives episode of Trivia,
- 5:28Speaker 1: I wait a question about the most popular dog names
- 5:31Speaker 1: for twenty twenty five out of Duke, Loki, Roscoe, and Marley,
- 5:35Speaker 1: Duke was the most common on the show. Katie was
- 5:38Speaker 1: asking for a source, and then the other night, while
- 5:40Speaker 1: having a nice family dinner at Steve's house, she brought
- 5:42Speaker 1: it up again. So I'm here today to give Katie
- 5:45Speaker 1: that context. That data came from two sources, the American
- 5:48Speaker 1: Kennel Club and the Rover app, which both placed Duke
- 5:53Speaker 1: above the other three. Wow, so you can quit losing sleep.
- 5:56Speaker 3: But what's number one, Katie?
- 5:58Speaker 1: Number one? I don't remember what is it? Luna? I
- 6:01Speaker 1: think is like number one girl? Well, I was thinking
- 6:04Speaker 1: for like boy and Dog, and then the other one
- 6:07Speaker 1: that was up there was I think Ruby and Max
- 6:09Speaker 1: are like both in the top ten. So you're doing
- 6:13Speaker 1: it Max, That's that's what I want to ask. Dog
- 6:16Speaker 1: is Ruby and his real name is Max?
- 6:18Speaker 10: And Max at the shelby and nextra the day is
- 6:23Speaker 10: a four and a half, so our winner should get
- 6:25Speaker 10: nine answers and with that we're onto the game of trivia.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I played the drop pill. Look, I need to know
- 6:34Speaker 1: what I stay under wind and everything.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I was saying everything.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Game on SUS Question one the topic is fishing. This
- 6:51Speaker 1: will be multiple choice Which of these lakes is biggest?
- 6:56Speaker 1: Is it Lake Okechobee, Flathead, Lake, Lake Champlain or Kentucky Lake.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Starting off with Omar's third best category, which of these
- 7:09Speaker 1: lakes is biggest Okachoby, Flathead, Champlain, Kentucky.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Hmmm.
- 7:18Speaker 1: This is measuring by the surface area square miles.
- 7:27Speaker 3: M Hmmm.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Do I just going ever now?
- 7:29Speaker 5: No?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Which of these lakes is biggest? Oka, Choby, Flatthead.
- 7:37Speaker 5: Chap's a great question?
- 7:39Speaker 3: Is a great question?
- 7:40Speaker 2: You that's gonna win this one?
- 7:42Speaker 4: No?
- 7:43Speaker 5: I sort of guess. I think I don't know. What
- 7:44Speaker 5: would be interesting? Is the biggest like by volume?
- 7:47Speaker 1: Mm?
- 7:48Speaker 2: Very interesting?
- 7:50Speaker 1: Is everybody ready?
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth Oka Choby, Randall,
- 7:57Speaker 1: Oka Chobe, Omar, Oka Chobe, Nate, Champlain, mex Okachobe, Alyssa Flathead.
- 8:05Speaker 1: The correct answer is Lake Okachobe. We did well.
- 8:11Speaker 3: That's a good guests lake.
- 8:14Speaker 1: At seven hundred and thirty square miles, Lake Okachobee is
- 8:17Speaker 1: the ninth biggest lake in America. That's followed by Lake
- 8:21Speaker 1: Champlaint in thirteenth at four hundred and ninety square miles,
- 8:25Speaker 1: Kentucky Lake in twenty fifth at two hundred and fifty
- 8:28Speaker 1: square miles and Flathead Lake in thirtieth at one hundred
- 8:32Speaker 1: and ninety two square miles, so okachobe twice. Now it's
- 8:38Speaker 1: like fifty pig for.
- 8:40Speaker 3: One on trivia. Oh it has never gotten one wrong.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Question to the topic is conservation. This is our listener
- 8:47Speaker 1: question of the week, which was won by Scott Prell
- 8:50Speaker 1: for sending this great question. Scott is going to get
- 8:52Speaker 1: a one hundred and fifty dollars First Light gift.
- 8:54Speaker 9: Cardare is so bad?
- 8:56Speaker 1: I want a chance to win the listener question of
- 8:57Speaker 1: the week, Then send your question to trivia at the
- 9:00Speaker 1: meat eater dot com. Who's got the bad chair? I
- 9:03Speaker 1: fixed it.
- 9:03Speaker 8: I fixed it, so I'm not rocking it.
- 9:07Speaker 3: You're trying to call in birds, We'll have a w.
- 9:11Speaker 9: I stopped, sorry, Phil.
- 9:12Speaker 1: This federal agency, which is known as the Long Blue Line,
- 9:17Speaker 1: is responsible for cleaning up oil spills in coastal waters
- 9:21Speaker 1: and the Great Lakes. Gosh, and the topic is conservation.
- 9:28Speaker 1: This federal agency, which is known as the Long Blue Line,
- 9:33Speaker 1: is responsible for cleaning up oil spills in coastal waters
- 9:37Speaker 1: and the Great Lakes. The room looks stumped.
- 9:42Speaker 5: The Long Blue Line.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Hmmm, Seth came up with an answer. Do you like
- 9:48Speaker 1: your answer, Seth?
- 9:50Speaker 7: Ah, I mean it's pretty midin I feel like it
- 9:57Speaker 7: makes sense.
- 9:58Speaker 1: This federal agency, which is as the Long Blue Line,
- 10:02Speaker 1: is responsible for cleaning up oil spills and coastal waters
- 10:06Speaker 1: in the Great Lakes. Nate, do you have an answer?
- 10:10Speaker 5: Yeah, but I don't think it's right.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I don't either. Randall's trying to gut check
- 10:15Speaker 1: with set No Alyssa, do you have this one right?
- 10:24Speaker 5: Every time? I say no, it's right. So I'm just
- 10:26Speaker 5: gonna say, no, what's that? There's one.
- 10:31Speaker 1: This federal agency which is known as the Long Blue Line.
- 10:35Speaker 1: It's responsible for cleaning up it's oil spills, waters and
- 10:39Speaker 1: the Great Lakes. Whose fob is that?
- 10:44Speaker 8: I asked that last time?
- 10:46Speaker 1: You know what. It's been here for months. At this
- 10:48Speaker 1: point they don't need.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Should see if it works.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Mhm, random key fob in the room.
- 10:55Speaker 3: We could sell it at the auction house. About it is?
- 10:58Speaker 3: Someone access to this HR doesn't like that? Boy, I
- 11:09Speaker 3: really don't like my answers for this question, which is
- 11:13Speaker 3: what I don't know.
- 11:16Speaker 1: I wish it said.
- 11:18Speaker 3: The Long Blue Line thing makes me want to police agents.
- 11:23Speaker 1: What if it was the long oarnge line that that
- 11:25Speaker 1: would be my answer. Okay, is everybody ready? Randall, are
- 11:31Speaker 1: you ready?
- 11:33Speaker 3: I think we're all ready.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Since Max is just yeah, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Seth says e q Randal Coast Guard Omar without an answer.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Nate e p a Max Coast Guard, alyssa coast Guard.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I don't think it's coked. The correct answer is the
- 11:53Speaker 1: coast Guard. You got that? I will not know.
- 11:58Speaker 5: That seemed too obvious.
- 12:00Speaker 1: For oil spills in inland waters, the Environmental Protection Agency
- 12:04Speaker 1: leads clean up efforts, but for coastal and Great lake spills,
- 12:08Speaker 1: it goes to the coast Guard. The coast Guard has
- 12:10Speaker 1: a unique set of responsibilities, including and forcing federal fishing laws,
- 12:14Speaker 1: rescuing stranded marine mammals, and leading search and rescue efforts
- 12:18Speaker 1: on the ocean. No long blue line. You didn't know
- 12:21Speaker 1: that was the coast guard.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Dude, The coast guards the least.
- 12:27Speaker 5: Okay, let me let me put it this way.
- 12:29Speaker 6: I love when the coast Guard jumps on like Narco subs.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Everything else I don't care about.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Okay, what about rescuing stranded and fishermen and things of
- 12:38Speaker 3: that nature saving people.
- 12:44Speaker 9: I love the Coast Guard cost guard fish.
- 12:47Speaker 3: I wouldn't have gotten there without long blue line.
- 12:50Speaker 1: That was a hint out.
- 12:51Speaker 3: That was the only thing that you know. I would
- 12:54Speaker 3: also like to point out that I did write coast
- 12:56Speaker 3: Guard down before Max showed his board. It's okay, No,
- 12:58Speaker 3: no one accused you. No, I was thinking, show your
- 13:02Speaker 3: board to me.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Except for our boys at drifter hydration.
- 13:06Speaker 6: I've never met a coast that I really like.
- 13:11Speaker 1: At times of war, they roll up under the navy,
- 13:14Speaker 1: they become I was singing that if like, if it
- 13:17Speaker 1: comes to it.
- 13:18Speaker 5: I doubt that my question was likely.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Is it technically an agency?
- 13:22Speaker 1: It is an agency. There's like, what is the five
- 13:25Speaker 1: branches of the military six if you count.
- 13:27Speaker 5: Space seven if you count the postal service.
- 13:30Speaker 1: But then the Coast Guard is its own thing. Right,
- 13:33Speaker 1: We're onto question three.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Shout up to Charles top.
- 13:39Speaker 1: This next great question is via Jason Marshall.
- 13:41Speaker 3: He is a Coaskerman.
- 13:43Speaker 1: North Carolina has more species of this animal than any
- 13:47Speaker 1: other state, with some examples being the dwarf water dog
- 13:52Speaker 1: and lesser siren. What North Carolina has more species of
- 13:58Speaker 1: this animal than the other state? With some examples being
- 14:02Speaker 1: the dwarf water dog and the lesser Siren. For how
- 14:06Speaker 1: specific you need to be. If you thought it was catfish,
- 14:08Speaker 1: you would put catfish. You wouldn't put like channel catfish
- 14:11Speaker 1: or just fish, you'd put catfish.
- 14:14Speaker 5: Dude, I'm sucking to day.
- 14:16Speaker 3: My chair is squeaking now, warf water dog.
- 14:22Speaker 8: That's bad.
- 14:24Speaker 9: Listeners, please send your complaints to Randall.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Will also, I also think that most of the chairs
- 14:28Speaker 3: I sit in squeak, so maybe it's it's more of
- 14:31Speaker 3: a groan than a squeak. You might have to do
- 14:33Speaker 3: something with carrying capacity.
- 14:39Speaker 8: Don't do that to yourself.
- 14:40Speaker 1: The chairs love to see you coming, Randall. They're cheering.
- 14:44Speaker 5: If they're cold, they're cold, they love it.
- 14:47Speaker 9: They're cheering.
- 14:49Speaker 1: North Carolina has more species of this animal than any
- 14:54Speaker 1: other state, with some examples being the dwarf water dog
- 14:58Speaker 1: and lesser Siren.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Randall.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Do you like your answer? Eh?
- 15:06Speaker 3: For to Nate.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Do you like your answer?
- 15:08Speaker 3: No?
- 15:08Speaker 5: Absolutely not?
- 15:09Speaker 1: Okay for to Nate.
- 15:12Speaker 5: Do you know what I do?
- 15:13Speaker 1: Like you?
- 15:14Speaker 6: That got those guys who wrote in, Dude, shout out
- 15:16Speaker 6: to Kyle and Max.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Nate ran in. Somebody ran an email to
- 15:19Speaker 1: Trivia at the meat eater. Dot.
- 15:20Speaker 6: I ran some Trivia fans out in the wild. These
- 15:24Speaker 6: these dudes drove twenty eight hours straight from Virginia to
- 15:28Speaker 6: Montana just on turkeys, and Max shot a stud of
- 15:34Speaker 6: a turkey. Noway, huge spurs, biggest spur. I mean, I
- 15:38Speaker 6: haven't seen a lot of turkeys, but they were big,
- 15:39Speaker 6: Marriam spurs. No beard like the dinkiest little, tiny millimeter
- 15:45Speaker 6: beard you've ever seen your life.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Hm.
- 15:47Speaker 1: They met Nate and it occurred to them later that
- 15:49Speaker 1: he was Nate from trivia. That's cool what you told
- 15:52Speaker 1: them you were to that f HF.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Yep, Okay, they didn't pick that up from the vibes
- 15:55Speaker 3: that you were the Nate.
- 15:57Speaker 5: You know what I loved about this email.
- 16:00Speaker 6: I love that they said he was Also, we didn't
- 16:03Speaker 6: realize we have met.
- 16:04Speaker 5: A trivia champion. Oh wow, made me feel real good.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Thanks Jusy again. Question three Wildlife. North Carolina has more
- 16:12Speaker 1: species of this animal than any other state, with some
- 16:15Speaker 1: examples being the dwarf water dog and lesser siren.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Although I don't deserve that title today.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Everybody go ahead and reveal your answers. Seth says frog
- 16:27Speaker 1: randal salamander omar, catfish, nate, snail, max songbird Alyssa Siegel.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We have a correct answer in Randall got it is
- 16:40Speaker 1: salamander wow water dogs. North Carolina boasts sixty four species
- 16:46Speaker 1: of salamander, with Great Smoky Mountains National Park, earning the
- 16:50Speaker 1: title of Salamander Capital of the World. The animals thrive
- 16:54Speaker 1: there thanks to the region's moisture rich, rainforest like climate.
- 16:58Speaker 1: The state was also largely on top by glaciers during
- 17:01Speaker 1: the last ice Age, which gave salamander's extra time to evolve,
- 17:04Speaker 1: adapt and diversified. There we have a picture of their
- 17:08Speaker 1: newest salamander. This is salamander number sixty four, a Carolina
- 17:12Speaker 1: Sandhills salamander. Scientists have known about it since the sixties,
- 17:17Speaker 1: but it wasn't until recent genetic work that showed that
- 17:19Speaker 1: it is its own species.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Four toes toes.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I don't know how many toes. I think you can
- 17:26Speaker 1: have some whisky two on the front. Such a pretty culture.
- 17:30Speaker 1: They almost look as well like that would be something
- 17:33Speaker 1: Seth would have in his tackle box.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, it looks like it came out of
- 17:37Speaker 3: a mold.
- 17:39Speaker 7: Carolina rigok in North Carolina.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Yeah, the Carolina rig Carolina Sandhills, Salamon. That's good question
- 17:49Speaker 1: for the topic is hunting. The earliest example of this
- 17:53Speaker 1: weapon is from sixteenth century French hunters, who attached daggers
- 17:58Speaker 1: to musket barrels to protect them elves from wild boar.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Thanks Spencer, I needed this, Hey.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Nate's back in it. The earliest example of this weapon
- 18:07Speaker 1: is from sixteenth century French hunters, who attached daggers to
- 18:12Speaker 1: musket barrels to protect themselves from wild boar.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Done some training with these weapons?
- 18:17Speaker 3: Oh, Nate, about that, dude.
- 18:23Speaker 6: I listened to Trivia today on the way in and
- 18:25Speaker 6: you were fishing out hints left and right.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Woe what trivia was?
- 18:30Speaker 5: I don't know the one where Brody won.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I was doing everything other than getting the questions correct.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that was a tough one.
- 18:36Speaker 3: I don't know how many good hints I could give
- 18:38Speaker 3: out when I just choked that one away.
- 18:41Speaker 1: A few hints. Nate says he's trained with it, and
- 18:43Speaker 1: Seth said, it's hard to spell.
- 18:46Speaker 2: What's your background, Nate?
- 18:48Speaker 5: Infantry?
- 18:49Speaker 2: Okay, I'm conkering on the.
- 18:51Speaker 5: Coast, not coast guard.
- 18:53Speaker 1: The earliest example of this weapon is from sixteenth century
- 18:57Speaker 1: French hunters. Who attached daggers to musket bear els to
- 19:00Speaker 1: protect themselves from wild boar.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Because yeah, he's probably got some old junk.
- 19:10Speaker 5: I know for a fact.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I've seen those, the Livingston Range. Yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 3: I think it's also the name of a very good
- 19:20Speaker 3: restaurant in Birmingham, Alabama.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Oh that's a good name for a restaurant. It's like
- 19:24Speaker 1: sort of ambiguous, but I'd like to eat there. Yeah, Maxwell,
- 19:29Speaker 1: are you ready?
- 19:32Speaker 3: I can't think of it.
- 19:32Speaker 1: It's go ahead and reveal your answers. Set bayonet, Randall bayonet,

- 19:55Speaker 9: Tambourine felt that was the bayonet.
- 19:58Speaker 1: Phil Stacker.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Tambourinees.
- 20:00Speaker 1: If we were a Monty Python film and someone if
- 20:03Speaker 1: Nate stabbed somebody with a bayonet, That's what sounded with me.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think i've since I sold an old
- 20:09Speaker 3: SKS what. I can't remember where I sold it?
- 20:13Speaker 1: Would I world? When I worked at Dunham Sports, which
- 20:18Speaker 1: is like a Midway Midwest small sporting good store, we
- 20:21Speaker 1: would sell those. Were they like Yugoslavian assault rifle?
- 20:28Speaker 3: You go asks did you get impacked in cosmoline? Mine
- 20:31Speaker 3: was covered in like just.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Like that liquid. Yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yeah, And I spent like days in my parents' kitchen
- 20:37Speaker 3: just boiling parts from this rifle to get all the
- 20:40Speaker 3: cosmolin out.
- 20:41Speaker 1: That was probably like the last eighty nine dollars gun.
- 20:44Speaker 3: That was kids will never get to enjoy that. I
- 20:47Speaker 3: really loved it until one time it it just started
- 20:51Speaker 3: five like I pulled the trigger and it just ripped
- 20:53Speaker 3: off the whole the old chain magazine.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Nate tell Us was in a Junkyard stabbing stuff.

- 21:07Speaker 1: If you screamed aloud, you must be doing it right.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Yeah, said we should get a couple ugos and boxes

- 21:21Speaker 3: No, I just bought it at a gun show.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, but like could you if you oh,
- 21:24Speaker 1: you go, Yeah, you can go.
- 21:25Speaker 3: I don't know why you couldn't. Well, I mean in
- 21:28Speaker 3: Ohio we were limited to shotguns at that time.
- 21:31Speaker 1: But yeah, early Bayonets were made of metal, wood and bone.
- 21:35Speaker 1: The hunters would stab wounded game with him, sometimes to
- 21:39Speaker 1: put the animal out of its misery and other times
- 21:41Speaker 1: out of self defense. Early versions were called plug bayonets
- 21:44Speaker 1: because they were jammed inside the barrel of the gun.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Question five. The topic is public lands. Saint Thomas, Saint John,
- 21:53Speaker 1: and Saint Croix make up this territory that's home to
- 21:56Speaker 1: America's twenty eighth National Park.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Wow, everyone seems so confident.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Seth just had to sit there and watch Nate, Alissa
- 22:09Speaker 1: and Max quickly, right, Like, Saint Thomas, Saint John, and
- 22:16Speaker 1: Saint Croix make up this territory that's home to America's
- 22:20Speaker 1: twenty eighth National park.
- 22:23Speaker 3: You say it, Saint Croix makes a great fishing round.
- 22:26Speaker 3: My brain was in Old Europe when he began this question.
- 22:31Speaker 3: It was in a gloomy monastery, and then we ended
- 22:34Speaker 3: up in a warm, sunny beat.
- 22:36Speaker 1: That's a very different Saint Croix. That Saint Croix is
- 22:39Speaker 1: what I'm like the Minnesota Wisconsin border, Is that right?
- 22:43Speaker 1: This Saint Croi is a few thousand miles from there.
- 22:47Speaker 3: This Saint Croix.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, it's not any He changed back to the board.
- 22:54Speaker 1: We'll get a scoreboard update and fill the engineer. After this,
- 22:57Speaker 1: Saint Thomas, Saint John, and Saint Croix make up this
- 23:00Speaker 1: territory that's home to America's twenty eighth National park. Max
- 23:06Speaker 1: comparing it.
- 23:07Speaker 5: Over there, just check it.
- 23:09Speaker 3: I like to compare everybody.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Okay, wow, we now have four players have seen each
- 23:16Speaker 1: other's aunts. They all like what they haven Go ahead
- 23:21Speaker 1: and reveal your answers. Says Smoky Mountains. The rest of
- 23:27Speaker 1: the room says the US Virgin Islands. They got it.
- 23:31Speaker 1: The correct answer is the Virginie Jeez. Virgin Islands National
- 23:36Speaker 1: Park is located on Saint John, preserving about sixty percent
- 23:40Speaker 1: of the island and a portion of the ocean. The
- 23:42Speaker 1: land was donated by Lawrence Rockefeller to the National Park
- 23:46Speaker 1: Service under the condition under the condition that it would
- 23:49Speaker 1: never be developed. The park gets about four hundred thousand
- 23:52Speaker 1: visitors each year, which is more than some parks in
- 23:55Speaker 1: South Carolina, Texas, and California. Its main attraction is its
- 23:59Speaker 1: beaches and coral reefs. Also, it's donkeys. It has some
- 24:04Speaker 1: donkeys that you might encounter. So we're halfway through the
- 24:10Speaker 1: game of trivia. This is scoreboard update.
- 24:14Speaker 9: Everyone' zoomed fairly well, but I will say that you
- 24:17Speaker 9: can kind of see a brody sized hole in the scoreboard.
- 24:22Speaker 9: We've got set.
- 24:22Speaker 3: I don't see a problem, Alyssa.
- 24:25Speaker 9: They all have two points apiece, Max and Omar have
- 24:28Speaker 9: three job Omar and Randall. He's got a perfect game
- 24:31Speaker 9: of five points.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Are you sure.
- 24:37Speaker 9: Fairly certain?
- 24:38Speaker 3: I'm positive?
- 24:40Speaker 1: Question six, topic is cooking.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Salamander, m you can go.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Question six, the topic is cooking. This sweet and sour condiment,
- 24:51Speaker 1: which is popular in Chinese American cuisine, is named after
- 24:55Speaker 1: the bird that it's traditionally served with. Alyssa says, she
- 25:00Speaker 1: oh knows this one. This sweet and our condiment, which
- 25:04Speaker 1: is popular in Chinese American cuisine, is named after the
- 25:08Speaker 1: birds that it's traditionally served with. Only one listen one
- 25:15Speaker 1: out of six players.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Can I find that Panda Express.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Not going to give you anything good for you? Lisa?
- 25:23Speaker 1: She has a lot of valuable so.
- 25:25Speaker 3: I'm guessing that it's not gonna be sweet and sour sauce.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I would not accept. I would not accept that answer.
- 25:31Speaker 5: McDonald's Sweet and Sour Alean.
- 25:38Speaker 1: This sweet and sour condiment, which is popular in Chinese
- 25:41Speaker 1: American cuisine, is named after the bird that it's traditionally

- 25:49Speaker 1: all of your cuisines top three.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know, I just I don't know. I don't.
- 26:02Speaker 3: I don't think about cuisines as being.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Ring.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I mean, I love it.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Randall doesn't see color.
- 26:08Speaker 6: But if you had to eat one for the rest
- 26:10Speaker 6: of your life Indian food, Yeah, agree, really.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Wow, totally, Alyssa, just just look away. This sweet and
- 26:24Speaker 1: sour condiment, which is popular in Chinese American cuisine, is
- 26:28Speaker 1: named after the bird.
- 26:32Speaker 5: Oh, I hate when it happens.
- 26:33Speaker 9: I'm rooting for you, Alyssa. I hope you're the only one.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Nate, do you have this one right?
- 26:39Speaker 6: I've got a good guess, but I could, I could
- 26:42Speaker 6: imagine being wrong. It's done that time or two.
- 26:44Speaker 3: It is named after the bird or named after a bird.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Dish, not telling you anything anymore, Okay, Okay, is everybody ready?
- 26:57Speaker 5: Yes?
- 26:57Speaker 1: Yes, Randall, go ahead and veil your answers. Seth duck sauce,
- 27:02Speaker 1: Randall duck sauce, Siracha, Nate Peking, Max General sou Chicken,
- 27:10Speaker 1: Alica duck sauce. The correct answer is duck sauce.
- 27:13Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 27:17Speaker 1: I don't think we will. I'm gonna do the flavor.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Tax Duck sauce is an orange jelly that's made with
- 27:26Speaker 1: fruits like plums, apricots, or peaches, comped with sugar, vinegar, ginger,
- 27:32Speaker 1: and chili pepper. You'll often see it in packets alongside
- 27:35Speaker 1: soy sauce and spicy mustard. It's the American version of
- 27:39Speaker 1: sauces served with peking duck and is most commonly used
- 27:42Speaker 1: as a dip for egg rolls and crab rangoons.
- 27:45Speaker 3: I was gonna, I was initially gonna say orange chicken sauce,
- 27:50Speaker 3: which you know, I.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Think it's orange sauce ducks.
- 27:53Speaker 4: I was tripped up because I think logo has a animal.
- 28:00Speaker 2: That's my best guess.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Okay, that's a good guess logic on your side.
- 28:03Speaker 5: I got halfway there.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Question seven, the topic is hunting. This next great question
- 28:07Speaker 1: is via Sean Doherty. New Mexico's Blank Blank missile range
- 28:12Speaker 1: has given out ORICS tags since nineteen seventy four.
- 28:16Speaker 5: We've had something like this before.
- 28:18Speaker 1: We have talked about New Mexico's what they refer to
- 28:21Speaker 1: I think is like the Big Three, but we have
- 28:24Speaker 1: not covered this specific thing.
- 28:27Speaker 5: This is not going to help me close the gap
- 28:28Speaker 5: with Randall.
- 28:29Speaker 1: New Mexico's blank Blank Range has given out ORCS tag
- 28:35Speaker 1: since nineteen seventy four.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Oh Ma, you've probably been here here, yeah, hunting.
- 28:41Speaker 4: When you were there, I wasn't hunting myself, but I
- 28:44Speaker 4: was with someone that was hunting ORCS.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Okay, did they fill their tag?
- 28:48Speaker 2: They did?
- 28:48Speaker 1: Did they have on range or off off? Okay, we're not.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Going to say.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Is it who I'm thinking of? Rhyme with eighty billers.
- 28:56Speaker 3: That's that's a good guy. I like that guy a lot.
- 29:00Speaker 1: And is I know on range they have like broken
- 29:04Speaker 1: horn orts or just regular Is it the same way
- 29:07Speaker 1: off range?
- 29:09Speaker 7: I think off range is just just an off range.
- 29:12Speaker 7: Steve had an off range tag.
- 29:13Speaker 5: Did you feel that one? Yeah, I've heard that's a
- 29:16Speaker 5: tough hunt.
- 29:17Speaker 3: It was tough.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah till the last day.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Yeah for us, tough hunt. But I think success rates
- 29:25Speaker 1: are still like north of thirty five percent for off
- 29:29Speaker 1: range really yeah, still pretty high.
- 29:31Speaker 2: And I've heard that meat is some of the best.
- 29:33Speaker 3: It was good. It was so hot was it hot
- 29:35Speaker 3: on your Oh yeah, killed one and gave me some
- 29:39Speaker 3: of the meat and it was delicious.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Was it?
- 29:41Speaker 5: It was delicious, Gerald.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Henry, is everybody ready New Mexico's blank blank Missile range

- 30:06Speaker 1: the White Sands Missile Range.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Ulsa's white board was closed.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Half point philp. The White Sands Missile Range is home
- 30:19Speaker 1: to North America's largest free ranging oryx population. The heard
- 30:23Speaker 1: started from ninety five oryx that were stocked there in
- 30:27Speaker 1: the nineteen sixties and seventies. It's estimated that about five
- 30:30Speaker 1: thousand of them live on the missile range today, with
- 30:33Speaker 1: another couple thousand living in the surrounding desert. Tags are
- 30:36Speaker 1: very hard to draw and run upwards of sixteen hundred
- 30:39Speaker 1: dollars for non residents. Question eight the topic is biology.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Name four of the five vital organs in a mammal?
- 30:53Speaker 1: Name four of the five vital organs in a mammal.
- 31:01Speaker 1: This is where Shelby got her half point. It's actually
- 31:05Speaker 1: three quarters point, but that would break the Shelby index.
- 31:09Speaker 8: M hm.
- 31:14Speaker 7: Hm hmm.
- 31:15Speaker 1: We'll get a scoreboard update after this.
- 31:19Speaker 5: What define vital.
- 31:22Speaker 1: In in my flavor. I'm not gonna tell you anybody
- 31:25Speaker 1: NA four the five vital organs in a mammal?
- 31:28Speaker 5: Well, there's only some.
- 31:33Speaker 1: The definition is when you google vital organs in a mammal,

- 31:40Speaker 3: It's probably one you need to live.
- 31:42Speaker 5: Yeah, but i'll.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Oh.
- 31:52Speaker 1: How's your list going, Randall? Are you trying to add
- 31:54Speaker 1: or eliminate?
- 31:57Speaker 3: I I'm looking. I'm trying to think of my fifth. Okay,
- 32:00Speaker 3: I have other I know of other organs, so I
- 32:03Speaker 3: guess I'm doing elimination, but I'm trying to add a
- 32:05Speaker 3: fifth the same time.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Name four five vital organs in a mammal? Mmm? Maxwell?
- 32:16Speaker 1: Do you like your answer? No? He hates it.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, oh oh we only need four? Only four.
- 32:28Speaker 9: If you're at five, you don't it doesn't count.
- 32:30Speaker 5: Yeah you put Yeah, I was going for five.
- 32:33Speaker 2: That was stupid.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Omar. Do you have your answer?
- 32:38Speaker 3: I have mine?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Max? Do you have your answer?
- 32:41Speaker 3: No? I need I mean.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Give Max think about what time the turkey described, Hey,
- 32:49Speaker 4: stop throwing.
- 32:51Speaker 1: A mammal, but it might it might actually help Max
- 32:57Speaker 1: while we kill time for Max Epstein Island.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Is you can see Little Saint John?
- 33:02Speaker 1: Right, yeah, you can see the National Park. I think
- 33:06Speaker 1: they're like twelve miles apart. Is that what I saw?
- 33:09Speaker 3: You do want to bring it up? I didn't want
- 33:11Speaker 3: to bring it up on the podcast, but I did
- 33:13Speaker 3: right to Seth Epstein Island, and then I wrote Little
- 33:16Speaker 3: Saint John, Well, is.
- 33:18Speaker 1: It Saint James James?
- 33:20Speaker 9: Yeah, you take the Lolita Express to Little Saint James.
- 33:24Speaker 3: I think it's good that I don't know what it is.

- 34:13Speaker 5: To kidney are so important? You need they give you two?
- 34:17Speaker 5: What about skin?
- 34:18Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 34:19Speaker 5: You need a skin.
- 34:20Speaker 3: That's the biggest organ of the body.
- 34:23Speaker 1: Not in a mammal though. Okay, these are the five
- 34:29Speaker 1: pillars that keep the body of a mammal functioning, and
- 34:32Speaker 1: if any of these organs fail, the organism cannot survive
- 34:36Speaker 1: without immediate medical intervention. The non vital organs that a
- 34:40Speaker 1: mammal can survive without are the gallbladder, pancreas, stomach, large
- 34:46Speaker 1: and testine and appendix phil scoreboard updates two questions to go.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Scoreboard update.
- 34:55Speaker 9: Maximilian is in last place with three points, what Alyssa

- 35:06Speaker 9: doctor Randall with eight boints.
- 35:08Speaker 1: He's already won today's episode, so I'm just going to
- 35:11Speaker 1: see if he can double that donation to one thousand
- 35:14Speaker 1: s knocks that question nine. The topic is natural history.
- 35:21Speaker 1: A YouTuber was arrested in twenty twenty five after he
- 35:24Speaker 1: visited North Blank Island in an attempt to give the
- 35:29Speaker 1: highly protected tribe a diet coke easy. Nate had his
- 35:36Speaker 1: answer before I finished the question. A YouTuber was arrested
- 35:40Speaker 1: in twenty twenty five after he visited North Blank Island
- 35:44Speaker 1: in an attempt to give the highly protected tribe a
- 35:47Speaker 1: diet coke.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Die cokes are good.
- 35:51Speaker 5: It's an admirable quest. I feel like those people. I'd
- 35:56Speaker 5: like a diet coke.
- 35:58Speaker 9: I would like a Mountain Dew company.
- 36:01Speaker 8: Man.
- 36:02Speaker 1: Yeah, code red specific.
- 36:05Speaker 9: Nah, No Baja blasts.
- 36:06Speaker 5: Okay, dude, imagine giving him a white.
- 36:08Speaker 9: Board game fuel.
- 36:09Speaker 3: I'd give him a bush light.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Wow, we'd really bring them into the year twenty twenty six.
- 36:16Speaker 1: Bush light, Baja blast, and a diet coke. If it's
- 36:22Speaker 1: the island vibes, Randall, are you going to get this
- 36:24Speaker 1: one right?
- 36:25Speaker 3: Man? I know it. I actually read I was reading
- 36:28Speaker 3: something that referenced this in the last week. Uh oh,
- 36:32Speaker 3: and I'm just drawing a blank.
- 36:35Speaker 1: It's frustrating, do you know?
- 36:36Speaker 3: It's very frustrating, especially because conservation will suffer as a
- 36:41Speaker 3: result of my inadequacies. Oh take that one home with me.
- 36:47Speaker 1: SI's less turkeys born next year. Randall, didn't know what island.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Is, and now I'm hurting Max by doing that, which
- 36:54Speaker 3: pains me even more.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Give us a new update on the on the henhouse
- 36:58Speaker 1: out there. I haven't seen the ducks in a week.
- 37:00Speaker 8: Okay, where did they go no idea. The hen and
- 37:03Speaker 8: eight ducklans are gone.
- 37:05Speaker 6: Okay, I saw I think I saw the hen today,
- 37:08Speaker 6: the one that hangs out with the two dudes.
- 37:11Speaker 8: That might be a different hend. Did you see any ducklings, No,
- 37:14Speaker 8: duckle I haven't seen the ducklins in a week now.
- 37:15Speaker 1: They'll sometimes do a double clutch in a year, right,
- 37:18Speaker 1: So maybe she'll come back and have batch number two.
- 37:22Speaker 8: Maybe, But like it's weird that everything's gone. Like usually
- 37:27Speaker 8: from the nest, they travel from the nest to the water,
- 37:31Speaker 8: and once they made it to the water, they stay
- 37:33Speaker 8: there and raise the duck LANs.
- 37:35Speaker 1: But like, I don't know.
- 37:37Speaker 8: If she went and found new water or what.
- 37:40Speaker 1: But I don't think all of them died. Max is nervous.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Keep your eyes out in Bozeman. If you see a
- 37:45Speaker 1: hen with both of them twice a day. Eight ducklings, right, eight.
- 37:50Speaker 8: Ducklans in a single hand, mallard.
- 37:52Speaker 1: If you see a hen in sound, yeah, the drake.
- 37:55Speaker 1: The drakes are still out there.
- 37:57Speaker 5: I saw three drakes in a hand today.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Yeah again. Wrong. Question nine topic is natural history. A
- 38:05Speaker 1: YouTuber was arrested in twenty twenty five after he visited
- 38:09Speaker 1: North Blank Island in an attempt to give the highly
- 38:13Speaker 1: protected tribe a diet coke randal. Do you have this
- 38:17Speaker 1: one right?
- 38:18Speaker 3: No? No, I don't.
- 38:19Speaker 5: Should I give it to you for conservation?
- 38:21Speaker 3: No? No, then I'd end up fraudulent.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Score Turkeys wouldn't like that either.
- 38:27Speaker 3: No. Actually, the great piles of fraud that constitute my
- 38:35Speaker 3: present existence.
- 38:36Speaker 1: The donation needs to be Peter of art.
- 38:38Speaker 5: Yeah, and don't let don't let pay back.
- 38:40Speaker 3: I feel like mine might sound like it.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Okay, go ahead and reveal your answers. Without an answer,
- 38:48Speaker 1: Randall says Easter, Omar says Papa New Guinea. Nate says
- 38:54Speaker 1: Sentinel Max without an answer, Olyssa without an answer. The
- 38:58Speaker 1: correct answer is you're Northan sent all the island. Oh yeah,
- 39:06Speaker 1: looking for the YouTuber so I put down Jake Paul.
- 39:11Speaker 3: Northland was thinking he needed to find just worried about
- 39:16Speaker 3: it to look up the Papagan New Guinea YouTube account.
- 39:20Speaker 3: He's missing out all the good stuff.
- 39:22Speaker 1: I think Jake Paul Island would just have a diet
- 39:24Speaker 1: code factory out there. Probably. The Centales are one of
- 39:29Speaker 1: the world's last uncontacted people's with only a handful of
- 39:33Speaker 1: outsiders visiting them in modern history. It's estimated that the
- 39:37Speaker 1: population of the twenty three square mile island is between
- 39:41Speaker 1: one hundred and two hundred. The Indian government enforces a
- 39:44Speaker 1: straight five mile exclusion zone around the island, which is
- 39:47Speaker 1: for the tribe safety and public safety. Besides the YouTuber,
- 39:51Speaker 1: the last person to visit the island was a Christian
- 39:54Speaker 1: missionary in twenty eighteen who was killed and buried on
- 39:57Speaker 1: the beach.
- 39:58Speaker 2: That's who is the YouTube.
- 40:00Speaker 5: My head.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I don't know the guy's name. No, he had a
- 40:04Speaker 1: long last name with a lot of vowels that look
- 40:06Speaker 1: like it would be on the back of a hockey
- 40:07Speaker 1: jersey if that helps you not at all. We're now
- 40:10Speaker 1: looking at a picture that somewhere something of five of
- 40:14Speaker 1: the members of North.
- 40:17Speaker 6: I don't mean this in a like how are they
- 40:22Speaker 6: not super in brad.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Genetic is real tight.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I think they they believe the populations fluctuated between like
- 40:31Speaker 1: thirty and five hundred, and they'll go and check on
- 40:34Speaker 1: them sometimes after a hurricane rolls through, just to try
- 40:37Speaker 1: to be like, are they okay? Are are they doing
- 40:38Speaker 1: all right? But it's still a lot of it.
- 40:41Speaker 8: But it's not like they would take the help would they.
- 40:43Speaker 5: Well, see, that's what's such so interesting.
- 40:45Speaker 1: I think they had one positive experience with some anthropologists
- 40:48Speaker 1: back in like the seventies who went there and they
- 40:50Speaker 1: gifted them coconuts, and I think they gifted them a
- 40:53Speaker 1: pig maybe, and that went okay. But then there were
- 40:56Speaker 1: some other bad relations where they took some members of
- 40:58Speaker 1: the island away. Those people died before the boat even landed,
- 41:02Speaker 1: and it's just like soured things ever since. All right,
- 41:05Speaker 1: here's a correct answer review so far. One was Lake
- 41:07Speaker 1: Okechobee two, Coastguard three Salamander, four Bayonet, five Virgin Islands six,
- 41:15Speaker 1: duck Sauce seven, White Sands, missile range. Eight was brain heart, lungs, liver, kidneys.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Nine was Sentinel phil school board updates.
- 41:27Speaker 9: Still has a victory, butanks to Spencer jinxing it, he
- 41:31Speaker 9: has lost the perfect game.
- 41:33Speaker 1: That's right, seth Omar and Nate playing for second place.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Here's question tend. This next great question is via Andrew Green.
- 41:44Speaker 1: This nine letter word is defined as quote any large,
- 41:49Speaker 1: thick skinned, non ruminant mammal, most notably elephants, rhinos.
- 41:54Speaker 5: And hip hops. This is such a good question.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Via Andrew Green. This nine letter word is defined as
- 42:03Speaker 1: any large, thick skinned, non ruminant mammal, most notably elephants, rhinos,
- 42:09Speaker 1: and hippos.
- 42:09Speaker 5: I've heard this, but I don't have.
- 42:10Speaker 1: It, Randall, Do you have this one right?
- 42:13Speaker 3: Yes?
- 42:13Speaker 1: Okay, yes, big zoo boy. I'd be disappointed if you get.
- 42:17Speaker 5: No issue with.
- 42:21Speaker 3: List zoo boy.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Nine letter word defined as any large, thick skinned, non
- 42:32Speaker 1: ruminant mammal, most notably elephants, rhinos, and hippos. Randall may
- 42:37Speaker 1: be the only player who even comes up with an answer.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Come on, guys, you know this.
- 42:42Speaker 5: It's there.
- 42:44Speaker 9: I take us, I say, probably don't.
- 42:47Speaker 3: I don't know it.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Really, it's we need to do a tiebreaker.
- 42:54Speaker 6: Second place doesn't get decided and give clues.
- 42:58Speaker 5: Everybody get some clues.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Everybody, go ahead, give them a clue. How I don't
- 43:03Speaker 1: know how you'd give a clue on this one, Randall.
- 43:05Speaker 3: It's hard to spell. I saw the first three letters
- 43:07Speaker 3: of the word on Randall's board, and.
- 43:08Speaker 5: I still can't tell the rest.
- 43:11Speaker 3: If I had a real if I had a real
- 43:14Speaker 3: problem with my skin being too thick, what sort of
- 43:18Speaker 3: doctor would I see? Oh? Okay, and then if you
- 43:22Speaker 3: know that the dinosa, the dinosaurs that have a really
- 43:26Speaker 3: thick skull. Yeah, I think Phil. Can you look that up?
- 43:30Speaker 5: Oh?
- 43:30Speaker 7: I got I got it.
- 43:33Speaker 1: The first three letters which were what? Randall? What were
- 43:37Speaker 1: the first three letters?
- 43:37Speaker 3: I don't want to give that. I don't want to
- 43:39Speaker 3: give that.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Did you look up the dinosaur?
- 43:43Speaker 3: Well?
- 43:43Speaker 9: There are several, but I think I know what you're
- 43:45Speaker 9: you're talking about.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's the right name for it. Okay,
- 43:47Speaker 3: but I feel like I've just been reading too much. Randal.
- 43:50Speaker 3: You are correct in the Jurassic Park University.
- 43:52Speaker 6: You give that in a weird order? Yeah, okay, cool,
- 43:55Speaker 6: I'm in it.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Is everybody ready?
- 43:57Speaker 3: I got it? Sounds maybe put her there?
- 44:00Speaker 5: Thanks dog, Come on.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Alyssa wants to get into that second place conversation.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Zoo Boy podcast coming out spring of twenty twenty seven.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answer, Seth without an answer,
- 44:14Speaker 1: Randall says, pacoderm omar without an answer, Nate, he got it,
- 44:18Speaker 1: packaderm MAT's without an answer, Alyssa without an answer. The
- 44:22Speaker 1: correct answer is pacoderm a c h y d e
- 44:28Speaker 1: r M. Packderm is derived from the Greek word pacodermis,
- 44:35Speaker 1: which translates to thick skinned. This is an obsolete term,
- 44:39Speaker 1: with modern genetic studies placing them in different animal orders.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Pacoderm is considered an artificial classification, but still a popular one.
- 44:49Speaker 1: All right, Phil, he is showing us the scoreboard. Randal
- 44:52Speaker 1: is today's winner with nine correct answers. He got the
- 44:56Speaker 1: Shelby index right on the nose, Randal. What are we
- 44:59Speaker 1: gonna do with that five hundred donation?
- 45:01Speaker 3: Let's send this to the organization Outdoor Mentors. Okay, Steve
- 45:07Speaker 3: at Outdoor Mentors just recently wrote into us to update
- 45:11Speaker 3: them on what they're doing. But they're pairing kids with
- 45:14Speaker 3: adults who will get him outside, and they're expanding into
- 45:17Speaker 3: forty different states. And so let's send this money there
- 45:20Speaker 3: and get some more kids out in the woods and
- 45:22Speaker 3: on the water.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Five hundred dollars that get a lot of fishing rods,
- 45:25Speaker 1: maybe a couple of guns.
- 45:26Speaker 3: And if you'd rather have one thousand dollars versus five hundred,
- 45:29Speaker 3: you can thank the good people of North Sentinel Islands.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Join us next week for more Meat Eater Trivia, the
- 45:36Speaker 1: only game show where Conservation.
- 45:37Speaker 11: Office John Randall, Yeah, Spencer from South Dakota. He's the host,
- 45:43Speaker 11: using those smooth mellow tones he lays them questions down.
- 45:53Speaker 11: He likes taking those two and three year old bucks.
- 45:57Speaker 11: It is an avid, amateur lock house
