- Gary: If God is calling you to change, why are you still letting your worst mistake introduce you? Good morning. I'm Gary Hults from North Man Coaching, and today's devotional comes from Acts chapter 9, verse 13 through 15. Jesus has appeared to Saul, a man who persecuted his followers. Now the Lord tells Aeneas to go to him. And Aeneas raises a real concern. He has heard About the harm Saul has done. But the Lord tells him to go. He has chosen Saul to carry his name to others. Saul's history is real. So is God's call on his life. That raises a question for us. Have you become so attached to who you were that you refuse to take responsibility for who you can become? Maybe you damaged a relationship. Maybe you weren't the father that you wanted to be. Maybe you made choices you wish you could take back. You need to own those things. People who hurt may still need time, distance, and evidence of change. But repeatedly calling yourself a failure doesn't repair the damage. What are you doing differently today? That is where accountability becomes practical. Are you listening more carefully? Keeping your promises? Getting help with the patterns. That you keep repeating, apologizing, without demanding forgiveness? Think about belief underneath your shame. Because I did something wrong, there could never be anything good ahead of me. Does that belief agree with the possibility of repentance and grace? Saul's story challenges us to take transformation seriously. His encounter with Jesus changed the direction of his life. Remember, the way you look on the outside is a direct reflection of what's happening on the inside. Let that challenge your conduct today. If you say that you are changing, what can someone actually see? A calm response, an honest admission? A promise kept? Maybe it's a different choice when the old temptations return. You cannot rewrite yesterday. You can respond faithfully to what God asks of you today. Choose one step that supports the man that you are becoming and take it. Let's pray. Father, give us courage to own the harm we have caused and receive your grace. Help us stop hiding behind shame and begin practicing real change. Guide our next step and make us faithful in taking it. In Jesus' name, amen. If this challenged you, hit like, share it with someone who needs it, and subscribe for more daily devotionals.
