- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: What am I not facing in my career, in my relationship, in my relationship with myself, in my health, in my health habits?
- 0:10[SPEAKER_01]: What am I not facing?
- 0:12[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, the ego goes, well, I don't know, I knew I'd face it.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, you wouldn't.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_01]: So, face it and then follow it and then fix it.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Beat till you see it podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also Logan, Ply's instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: Each week, my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it until you see it.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, be a babe, get ready, get your note pads out, get up and out.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: If you listen to us on a one point five, one point seven five speed.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to be really honest.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: You might want to slow this one down.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot acronyms and this guest and I had the best fucking time.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be really honest.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: I really was like, who is this person on my podcast?
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: And after we stopped hitting record, he and I were like, I don't know how you got on this spot.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, I don't know how I'm on this spot.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: And then my husband comes in and I'm just going to spoil for you.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: My husband is the one who met him and my husband is the one who
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: Throughout him on the podcast and that is why he like got to skip all the things where I would find out who this person is and what they're going to talk about and why we're talking and like what's going to go on.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm going to tell you right now.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't need any of that information for this be the most amazing interview ever.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like this is going to be one that you save.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be when you read listen to you.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: I promise you're going to read listen to it as soon as it's over because I want to read listen to it right now and I was just there and I just did it.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: I want to like take notes.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: I am
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: obsessed with this person, and I really do hope that they stay in my life in some way.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: And he gave us some excellent beat action on us, but the whole thing is a bold, executable intrinsic targeted action item you could take.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: And so David Corbin is our guest today.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys, he's pretty badass.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: So here you go.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: Alright, be it babe.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: I've had a great guest.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: The guy seems very chill, but also has done some amazing things in this world.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: And we're gonna hear all about it.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: So David Corbin, can you tell everyone who you are and what you rock at?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Who am I?
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's really funny.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: My mother passed away not knowing who her youngest son really was.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: What I did for a living.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: She told all her friends I laundered money.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: She didn't have a clue what I did.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: But I could tell you what I do and kind of who I am.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh God.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: I've written fourteen books and a third of them made it to the Wall Street Journal bestseller list so some of the ideas are really catching on USA today list and I've done a couple TED talks and I'm an inventor and I want to international
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: awards for these inventions that I've done in health care and in wellness and stuff.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm really none of that.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really an ex Woodstock attending hippie who's a father and a grandfather and a husband to a beloved goddess and I'm a pickable player in a tennis player.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's the way.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: But Mike draws.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I have never, I think a lot of people can relate to like their parents not understanding what they do, but I do think that most of them probably think that they don't launder money.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: So I feel like, but I, you know, it took my parents a long time to understand that what I do is not yoga.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know,
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right?
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: You do that pilot thing.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want you with the pilot.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: You with the FAA with that Pilate stuff.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: Now it's okay.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: We don't need to talk about it today.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess like where I want to start is like, how do you like, how do you come someone who writes fourteen books and does two TEDx talks and like has a goddess of a wife?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_02]: Like, we're like, how do we get here?
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's your god shot, really, because I'm really far as gum.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: I ain't the smartest guy in the world, but I am the damn luckiest.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: But no, I've been, you know, I grew up in New York.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: I was at low self-esteem kid.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: I had to figure stuff out, you know, shovels, snow in the winter, and modulons in the summer, and I wasn't the brightest kid.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: I started to shovel snow in the summer, and mold ones in the winter.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: You know as I did all that sort of stuff and then you know sort of grew up and at a time when you know the world was a little messed up not like it is now and you know we're in a Vietnam war and I was protesting the war and I got pretty active and engaged in that
- 4:56[SPEAKER_01]: you know, did all that groovy stuff.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, it was a woodstock.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: It was a backstage at Woodstock.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: It was sick.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, started businesses and my gosh, I did a TED talk about one where I was, I did something called Woodstock Wisdom that was a TED talk.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was kind of cool.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: I gave away, make believe LSD.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_01]: It was definitely an interesting TED talk.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, on and on, and then, you know, I create businesses.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: I've been product build companies around the business, sell the business, and I learned stuff, you know, like I learned stuff.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I went to college and all, but I really learned stuff through life, through bouncing and pinging it off of people, and, you know, with black and blue marks in life, you know what I mean?
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I learned some stuff, and I put them to use, and then people would ask me about it.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: I teach them about it.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: And then ended up doing speaking and writing books about those things.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I just kept learning and practicing, putting it in place and getting results.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: People notice it.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: They say, hey, man, can you help me?
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I would help them then write a book about it.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's just, it's really organic.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean,
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: I was the president of one of the most prestigious massage colleges in the country, right?
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: And how did that happen?
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: Just pure by accident.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: My friends started it years later.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: They were functional in the classroom, but they were dysfunctional in the board room.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: And so, so all these things just, I don't know them.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm telling you far scum.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_02]: I thank you for sharing the journey because I think like,
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: People would see, oh my gosh, two TED talks, four team books, like, you know, the confidence that comes from you, but to hear like, was a kid, you had low self-esteem.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: And I also love hearing, like, I went to college and I really thought, like, why am I doing this?
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: But most of it was to get out of a small town and like, you can't really get out of a small town, just like, I'm gonna move.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like, no one was gonna let me to move to LA without going to college.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_02]: So I had to like go to college so I could move to LA.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: But I, you know, I was someone who's like, why don't you even do this degree?
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what do I'm an elder millennial?
- 7:16[SPEAKER_02]: So like, what do you do with a degree after college?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like, and it's then it's a recession.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: So it does, you know, I just really didn't know it, but I realized over time and the things I fell into is that everything kind of layers, if you're willing to look at it.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: And so you said to yourself, like, you just said recently, like,
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: I help these people and then, like, I wrote a book about it.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: So what prompted you to, like, reflect enough to share what you were learning, because so many people would reflect and just, like, keep it to themselves.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I, you know, I had a good inner dialogue.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I kind of, you talked to myself what's working, what's not working, blah, blah, blah.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: You just sort of develop this stuff.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: All I could say is that when you, when you grow and up, like, I kind of grew up,
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's like an orphan in a family.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: So it was kind of alone.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody was older than me.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so it's kind of like left alone.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, I stayed in college for a different reason.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: Mine was to not get my ass shot up in Vietnam.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I had to keep my ass in college and stuff like that.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, they get a certain GPA.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_02]: You couldn't just be in college because my father didn't get the GPA and that's why he was in Vietnam.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I wasn't, and I wasn't going to go.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: But what, what?
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think my secret sauce.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: is being awake, aware, alert, my heart's filled with love, and my mind is filled with opportunity seeking.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I see an opportunity, I wrote a book called Luminate, harnessing the positive power of negative thinking, which is a whole different scene, because you can't outrun your shadow.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: But I would look, and I taught face it, follow it, and fix it.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like, I know that you can't solve everything you face, but you can't solve anything unless you face it.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I wrote this book about face it, follow it, and fix it.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how I created my inventions.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's how I invented my companies.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: Is face it.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: Here's it, like, in healthcare.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: I looked at this thing, even before COVID and healthcare, burnout with doctors and nurses and turnover was over a four billion dollar per year problem.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: That was before COVID.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: I went face that.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: That sucks.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Follow it.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: Like, why is that happening?
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they treat them like shit and they, you know, the hours and stuff.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: There's no there's stress constantly.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: There's no inter interruption of the pattern.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_01]: Stress followed into the future.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're going to have a shortage of doctors and nurses.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: So what's the fix?
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I invented a pod, a four foot by four foot pod with nature video.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: And they go in there, how do you feel?
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: They answer some questions.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: They choose a video journey afterwards three to eight minutes.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: They say, how do you feel now?
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: And in three to eight minutes, they go
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: from their crazy roles and goals down into their souls.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: So they're more present with themselves and others.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we prove it.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: We won the International Healthcare Design Award for Innovation.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_01]: We're in every hospital in New York.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're in Fourteen State.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: All because I keep my eyes and ears open.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: I say, what does love look like in this situation?
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there's a problem.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_01]: face it, follow it, and fix it.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I think any listener of your podcast or any, this is my third podcast I'm doing today, if they ask themselves, what am I not facing?
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: in my career, in my relationship, in my relationship with myself, in my health, in my health habits.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: What am I not facing?
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, the ego goes, well, I don't know, if I knew I'd face it, know you wouldn't.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: So face it and then follow it and then fix it.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I was fifty pounds overweight.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I had to face it, like face it.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Why, you know, and then follow it.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I fifty pounds?
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I drink two, three glasses of wine after dinner and then in my blood sugar'd go low and I'd eat anything in the house and then I'd go to sleep.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: So I turned into a fat
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: person.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: And be to follow it down to the future.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: I was hoping I would have grandchildren.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: I won't be able to play with my grandchildren.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: So the face it and the follow it and then you go into the fix.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: So that's one of the models that I teach in one of my books.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of cool because when you get known as the illuminator,
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: which I was, then people hire you like, one company I can't tell you the name of it, but it rhymes with schmaminos pizza.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: They hired me to be their chief illumination officer and we illuminated the fact that their pizza tastes like crap.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: And then they did a whole ad campaign that said, our pizza tastes like crap.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you're old enough to remember that, but did a whole campaign around that because we illuminated it because we found out.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: First off, here's some of the stuff.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, face the following fix it.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: That their issue was their profits suck, right?
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: And they wanted to go public.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: So we faced it.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: One of the things we said is we can't move forward when you profit suck like that.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_01]: So we followed why your profits alone was because
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: Most people don't know what they're having for dinner up by four thirty p.m.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: And they call up and they go, MAGA two kids and a dog and my neighbor's kid, I need to buy something, right?
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: And they put on hold.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: So what we found is they weren't in the fast food business.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_01]: They were in the crisis intervention business.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: When you call nine one one you don't want to be put on hold.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we taught all their people to be crisis intervention people.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: And they go, I got two kids of my neighbors kid in my dog.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: What do I get?
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: And instead of like, I don't know what do you want.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: They go, no problem.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: We take care.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's our, that's our package B with two round discs of cardboard and fake cheese and ketchup and crap on it.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: And a big old bottle of sugar water with caffeine.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: You get those little bastards to bounce off the wall.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: And they go, yes, it's exactly what I need.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_01]: So we faced it, followed it and fixed it.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: Well, now I really don't choose to work with companies that are selling fast food and I don't.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: You see the example of that, they have no idea that they don't have a clue.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, because you get so close to it and also, you know, depending on what time of the day, like you can either go, oh my god, I can totally take on that problem or
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: you can put yourself in a spiral, at least that's me.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's just me.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: But I really like this because I'll often say, like, reflect, correct and continue.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: But I, like, yeah, thank you.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, like, we can't, we're not going to be perfect all the time.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: Even our best ideas are going to get to market and or get to your friends or get to your family.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: And somewhere in the translation, something like, didn't happen or people like hold on what's this.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: We're all going to have to face it, follow it and fix it, or we don't.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: And it doesn't go where we wanted to go.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_02]: And then we go, well, there's another idea that didn't work.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: And so my husband had a business code to talk about hugging the cactus, which makes me think about facing it.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_02]: We have to actually take responsibility for where we got to where we are.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: And it doesn't mean you have to beat yourself up.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't mean that you have to spend a lot of time
- 14:47[SPEAKER_02]: Like there, would you do have to go?
- 14:48[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, I did put one step in front of the other and got myself here.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: I want to be over here.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: If I stay here, this is where it's going to go.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: I get more of this, which is not awesome, or I can do these things.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_02]: And if I do that, what does that look like in the future?
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: And then you can take some change.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_02]: I really am obsessed with this.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: David, it's great.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, GRFR, baby, get real for results.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: Get real for as I love hug the cactus.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: One of my business partners wrote a book sold two million copies.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: Pull eat that frog.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm yes, yes.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, Brian and I were partners for five years and it's all about get real.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: So one of the things that I focused on with clients and I just did a workshop yesterday for the sheriff's department in San Diego, California.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: And it's about illuminating
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: their reputation.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: And that's building your brand.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: I teach you either in brand integrity and living your brand or not.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I call brand slaughter in the first degree.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: and jail for manslaughter, companies allow people to kill their brands and get away with it.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_01]: So I wrote a book called Preventing Brands Loader and then I wrote another book called The Illuminated Brand which is a training program where's the graze trading program I've ever developed and I've been in this field for a couple of weeks now and and I just did that for a client, a billion dollar client in Cancun
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: a couple of weeks ago, and that's all about living into how you want to be described.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: So if Leslie Logan wants to be described as boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, right?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: Then everything you do is either living into that and you're earning that by cluttered IBD intended brand descriptor.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: You're either living it and earning it, or you're not.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: And that's brand slaughter.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, this said, okay, I just had a client this morning and she so it's usually teacher on Tuesdays, but I was traveling.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: And so I said, hey, babe, I know you hate mornings, but if you want to session this week, it's gotta be eight a.m.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_02]: This all I got and we'll give it to you because I don't know I'm like to work at that time, but it's for you.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: And she said, yeah, I'll take it.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: I was so shocked.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: So I show up on zoom and she's like, well, I'm working on this thing.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a healthy person.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm telling myself.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_02]: And if I'm a healthy person, a healthy person would work out at eight a.m.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_02]: They wouldn't skip their work out this week.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: They'd work out at eight a.m.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's what it makes you think of like, I can't think of a, I love it.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_02]: You describe because it's like being it till you see it's like, how do I want to be described?
- 17:22[SPEAKER_02]: How would I want to describe like if it's the future?
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: And then like acting as if you're the person who has that description.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_02]: What does that person do?
- 17:29[SPEAKER_02]: What does that business do?
- 17:30[SPEAKER_02]: What does that product do?
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: What is like, what does that day look like?
- 17:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm of, I love that.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: You've got it.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you walk into the ladies room to wash your hands, right?
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: And there's someone in their stall, invariably, with their cell phone, and they're talking.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_01]: They don't know you're there.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what if they were talking about you?
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: What do you want them to hear them say about you?
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: So what I teach is you make a list of your intended brand descriptors.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: That's the first part.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: Then you do an Abby, an audit of brand integrity.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: So down here you got the lit and there's a TV show they did on me on this.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: I can give you the link if you don't want to see it.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: So here's a list of descriptive adjectives I call them intended brand of scriptures.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: All we hear are your touch points, customers, prospects, co-workers, vendors, whatever.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: And now you do an inventory.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: Say, here's the word I want to be described by this.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: Here, am I in brand integrity?
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: Or, oh shit, am I in brand slaughter?
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: Now, once you find those areas of brand slaughter,
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: do the next step.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: We call MSPIs, strategic brand initiatives.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: What can I do to close the gap?
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: All of that when you do that on a regular basis equals MBV and that's massive brand value.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm doing this with this training program with Fortune five hundred companies.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing with smaller companies and it's all about IBD
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: Times ABI and SBI is MBV.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: What are your intended brand descriptors?
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: Then you do an audit of brand integrity.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_01]: Then you say, okay, here's the areas where I'm great.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: Pat yourself on the back.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the areas where I'm committing Bransler.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_01]: You have strategic brand initiatives to close it.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Boom.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's a no-wining zone, baby.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my god, I really do love this.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think this is really a lot of fun because you can do this about anything.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like anyone listening if you're like dating and you keep attracting someone you don't really want to be with.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's like you could literally go, okay, well, let's take a look at the profile or let's take a look at like what I'm saying on a date.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: You can like all these things.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_02]: I have a girlfriend who whenever she goes on a date, she actually has like a scale that she
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: rates them and then herself on she's like how am I acting on this date with this person so you could do the same thing of like how you want to show up and who you want to be with and who your friends are and all the things and you could figure out like oh this this right here this is where I'm creating brand slaughter this is where I'm I think it's fabulous it's also
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: It's something you could do throughout your career or life or I mean like you can do it and then you can go back and do it like each quarter or each year because as you grow it's you know I read a book called I read a book called The Middle but I didn't finish it and I think that's hilarious, but at the middle and I was like I think I got the point but you it talks about like how all business is
- 20:26[SPEAKER_02]: go up and down, up and down, up and down, like a graph.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: But ideally, it's always just going up, like the stock market goes up and down, up and down, but if you look at a big picture, it's always going up.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, so I think like we can get so caught up in the down, and then we can flounder there for so long that we don't realize we came from a really big up, and we can learn from that and bounce back, and you know, there's another day to try it out again.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_02]: This is so fun.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so but hold on.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_02]: You have a lot of acronyms.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not dyslexic, but I am ADHD.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: How do you keep this all like where do you are all in your head you organize you journal like what's your way of keeping all these ideas in one amazing place
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: No, I've been I am a gifted man.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: See the big dude gave me this incredible brain and this magnificent heart and the highway between the two is wide open.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I can keep it here.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't journal.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: I meditate, but do something else called meditation, which I developed, which is, yeah, you know, you're not supposed to think when you meditating, but when you, well, I teach meditation, meditation, where you sit down with a piece of paper, you put the issue with a question on top, then you put yourself in a meditative state after you set your iPhone or whatever to twenty two minutes.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: And while the questions on the top, twenty two minutes,
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: pencil or pen on paper and you dwell upon that question and you don't open your eyes but you write with your eyes closed and you let the unconscious competence come through and the universal conscious competence come through and you write some good shit down there now at first it kind of like you read is a don't eat frogs what is that because you can't read your handwriting right eventually you allow the download to come through
- 22:29[SPEAKER_01]: No one's smarter.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's smarter than chat GPTO.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: No shit.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: It's smarter than even chat GPT.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: You write it down and you tap in.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, prayers when you're talking out there, but meditations when you're listening.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: You listen in meditation, you know, like our emotions scream at us.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought to yell at us, but our intuition whispers to slow down, meditation, take it all in.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's breaking awesome because the answer to every, everything you got, every WTF has within an OMG and up L-O-L-L-A, right?
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: Right with me.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I with you.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: I know all these.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: So like I wrote two books called from WTF to OMG with some L.O.L.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: unpacking lives hidden lessons.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: The first one hit number one on Wall Street Journal.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_01]: The second one hit number two behind Prince Harry.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yo.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what Prince had.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: Had his Prince Harry come in front of King David.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, it's because
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone knows at a certain level when you're in a trauma or trauma that's usually a gift in there.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Not all at a time.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, don't tell me like, you know, somebody who gets run down in New Orleans by a car or a toddler gets shot in a freaking daycare center.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: Don't tell me there's a lesson in there.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: Not all of it.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_02]: No, I agree.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: But most of our lives,
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: There's a pony in that pile of poop, you know?
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so if you assume there's an OMG built into the WTF, you close the curve of drama trauma and pain and misery and just start looking and then you get it and you're like, yo, that's fantastic.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, so I look for that sort of stuff.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: This is meditation, but there's something I gotta tell you.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: Are you ready for this?
- 24:32[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: I am proud of this.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: So I got permission from the TED organization to hand out LSD to my audience.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_02]: The real stuff.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, this is the fake stuff.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_02]: This is the fake one.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I mean, because you don't need to stop it.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going to buy LSD for everybody.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: Even the, no, I'm not, I'm not that generous.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: But even even the fake stuff.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: I had to get permission.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: So what I did was I said, could you imagine?
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, I talked about being backstage at Woodstock and I said, you know, fifty years, I saved all the Celeste and I got one for all of you.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I'm like Oprah, one for you and for you and I said, so when I count to three, you're going to pick it up, toss it in the air, catch it in your mouth and go, whoa, dude, I'm tripping.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: So they did that, right?
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: Boom, boom, boom, five hundred.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: But whoa, dude, I'm tripping.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's a cool.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: Now that you're tripping, and here's the point, Leslie.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Now that you're tripping, you could ask your business two questions.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: And because you're tripping, you could hear the business answer you in its employees.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the two questions.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: And this is what I would want everyone to write down.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Number one is, yo, business.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: What do you need me to do?
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then you write down a list of the core job functions, right?
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: So you're tripping.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: So you write down the court.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: You got one list of core job functions.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: Then you say, yo, business.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you need me to be?
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: and you're right down the qualities and characteristics.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: Now you got two lists.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: Now, because you're tripping, you get naked, right?
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: But not naked of clothing.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's the easy part.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: Now you get naked of ego.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: and you rate yourself on both lists on a scale of one to ten.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: Ten is chitching, mastery.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: You could bring it to that business right now.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: The business is asking for it, you say, I got you.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's ten.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: One is you suck.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Where you're a five, six or seven, you close the gaps.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_01]: Same thing on the other list.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: Qualities and characteristics.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: Good listener, right?
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: Where you're a ten great, but where you're a three, close the gaps.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's like those SPIs, the strategic brand initiatives.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's all about, get freaking real.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: So they're tripping.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: They have a conversation with their business.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: They get naked.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: They see where they need to close the gaps.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: When you do that, anyone who's listening to this, when you do that,
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: You can no longer complain about market conditions and competition in this and I don't have enough capital and I'm not this enough bullshit.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: You take control of that and close those gaps and as you do you increase your competence
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: which then brings up your confidence, which then brings up your competence again, and you go on up the NCBC spider, but not up the water spout up the spout to prosperity and fulfillment.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: Boom!
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: When I teach that, and people come back and say, I did that.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: Had it work.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: Had it work.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's a game changer.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_01]: Because now you're taking responsibility, you can do it for your health.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, body, what do you need from me?
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: They go list.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: Right yourself on your ability to bring that close the gaps, bring your gift, your body, your magnificent body developed.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's amazing and keeping an optimal condition by putting natural foods and hydrating with quality water getting the right movement.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: Then it's like life is easy.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: People say David, you're seventy-two and you play pickleball every day and you play tennis.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: God made an incredible body.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: God made unbelievable food.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: I put God's food into God's body.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: Boom.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: No GML shit.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: No chemicals.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: No process.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: No fluoride in water.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_01]: No fluoride in toothpaste.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I cleanse my liver and my kidney every day with homeopathy.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: I kill a heavy metals out of my body with acesinanol, take responsibility.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's good, baby.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_02]: I love how you attribute it to business and also to our health because I think it's really important and I just want to like highlight a couple things.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't know I was doing meditation but I was doing like a version of the morning pages right so morning like my therapist is like I want you to journal and then I was like well I'm a recovering perfectionist so a week later I was like what am I supposed to journal like how do I journal?
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: not really even understanding which I have the journals.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: I got pens.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_02]: I can't read my own handwriting.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_02]: So like, what are we doing here?
- 29:34[SPEAKER_02]: She's like, okay, how would you just do morning pages?
- 29:36[SPEAKER_02]: Just write for three pages and whatever comes out.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: And I found within a couple of days like the thing that was bothering me or the thing that I feared would like it would come on the page.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_02]: And then by the end, I would understand why was I afraid what was I going to do?
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: Well, all these different things.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: And so I can't agree more like
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't I think most of our listeners like when they hear a meditation is the thing they need to do they're like I'm sorry for out because like if you have ADD or ADHD good luck the thought for your brain but giving someone something to think like actually do and close their eyes and let it come out
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: I do, I do see how that could be really amazing because I can see like, first of all, I can get angry because I like, I like to get angry the thing.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: I got to do a little blame game that I got to blame myself.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_02]: Then I got to keep going.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's like, actually, it's not me.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's not them.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's this thing right here that I've been avoiding and we can stop avoiding it or we can do the thing.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: So I love that.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: The other thing I love is like, I love those questions you ask because I think I do think inside your correct that we do have the answers.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_02]: We don't need chat, GPT to tell us.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you can use that.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: I have friends who love it and we have a bot of me, but like, you can also just ask yourself, like, what do I need right now?
- 30:44[SPEAKER_02]: And half the time when I ask myself that when I'm frustrated, I'm like, I need something.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's like drink some water.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like just go drink some water.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: Go sit outside, go pet your dog, like go do something that brings you present because one of the things that I like really obsessed about with you and I'm really trying to figure out how we even know each other.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, so you know, I had this man, and if I'm my podcast, I love him.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: He's so funny.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to be comfortable.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, I can see that from the application.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think it might have been my husband, so maybe, but we'll figure that out off length.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_02]: But what I'm loving is you are so passionate, and that is like contagious, of course, in all the best ways, but you have so much kindness and grace for all situations.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: like you're you've talked about your heart a few times but like what I'm seeing is like you approach everything with like it's a problem to be solved but not from a place of like punishment or shame or judgment but just observation and then taking some time to to go what would what can I give myself what can I do this how can I learn more here
- 31:43[SPEAKER_02]: And what it allows is all of us to be in process.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_02]: None of us have to be perfect at this.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_02]: You're always, like you said, you get the confidence and then you guess what you get more confidence.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_02]: It means you get more confidence.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: So we're always going to be on this mountain with no peak, but not in a way that's like a slog and a way that is like a good high.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're a natural illuminator.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: No, you are.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: When you write and then you see it, you see what happens is we usually keep problems, we sweep it under the carpet.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I can tell you that like mushrooms, they multiply in the dark.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: When you take it out, daylight is the best disinfectant.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: And you take it out and you illuminate you look at it.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's not as bad as when you use so much energy to repress it and keep it down in there.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's just freaking look at it.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: And it like a vampire, something to evaporate.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's just in daylight and stuff.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_01]: So you're already doing
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: in a way that I call it different, but who cares?
- 32:50[SPEAKER_01]: We get to the same place.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: What is your objective?
- 32:53[SPEAKER_01]: What is my objective?
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: I could tell you mine is happiness, love, joy, equipoys, health, fulfillment.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I just trade marks up, you know, they have KPIs keep, keep, keep it, keep it, keep it, keep it, keep it, keep it, keep it, keep it, keep it.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's all left brain analytic perfection, make it KFIs, key fulfillment indicators.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody customers you, your employees, your employees' family, they all need to be fulfilled.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: So you're looking at these metrics to make everyone in everything fulfilled.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: That is a more feminine energy into business.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm all about that.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: The feminization of energy and this planet is time.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: And we're seeing it.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: We're seeing it.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: We're feeling it.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: So groups like heart math and the like are testing and measuring.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: They are brain e-mits X are heart e-mits like eighteen thousand X. It's unbelievable measured and shit.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: The work by my friend Joe dispenser in terms of of of meditation and what's happening in there and brain waves.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, he's having a seizure.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: They're down in this data and that where you can see anything and everything is like doing an eyeball gain trip, or Iolaska to a degree, but more eyeball gain or five MEODMT.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: And like you're expanding how you can see things and shit.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's really cool.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, one of you and I, one of us is redundant.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: The world doesn't need both of us because we both kind of think of the same.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: So we, but I feel like I feel like I need to find you in New York and we need to hang out because you like I don't know.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_02]: I want to be around your energy more.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_02]: This is so fun, but also I
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: I want to highlight you guys.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_02]: You have to look at this man on YouTube on the videos because you're the same age as my dad.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think my dad's pretty badass for a seventy-two year old who had to do a post office game after the military and got forced out of all the life things that happened to him.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: And he can deadlift like three hundred pounds like the man is strong.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: but what I am obsessed with is your your recall the way you are sharing these stories and that you're not stopping like that is something that my seven year old father does not have and I can tell it's one it's all the ways that you're treating yourself and two it's like you're a constant learner and you're like you're you're going back to the beginning you're like facing it falling at fixing it like because you're on that process all the time it's it's really cool to see like
- 35:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I just, I, I, I'm very amazed and very impressed and like want to eat what you're eating because I want to be on a BU at seventy two.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: And we've left my, my bride and I wrote a book.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's four hundred and nineteen pages.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's called resatty truths about food, pharma, and healthy living in an insane world.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now we're told not to publish it because we outed a lot of industries.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: And they said, if you publish that book,
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: You better have somebody start your car in the morning because they ain't gonna be happy.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: So so we didn't have to publish it, but just the research to your point.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: The stuff that I study learn and teach is the stuff that I want to study learn and teach.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: You see, and it's an iterative process and stuff.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_01]: So when I study health, I do hope.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to publish that book.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: I learned all about
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: healation and homeyalthy and to stay away from certain drugs and certain jabs and and and foods and don't listen to this bullshit and listen to that bullshit and muscle tests and applied kinesiology and we live it.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: So my wife and I just kicked ass to a lot younger guys on the pickle ball court and they're like this sucks.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, it does sucks being you, man.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now I live in San Diego.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in Las Vegas.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: We're so close.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, I go to Vegas because I have a client who's an artist in residence at Mandalay Bay at the House of Blues and his name is Carlos Santana.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_02]: Well, there you have it.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know Carlos?
- 37:06[SPEAKER_02]: Of course I do.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm my husband, the bass player and like, and he used to have a drum radio show and I think they were getting Carlos and his drummer on and if I'm wrong, Brad will just pretend like I was right.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm pretty, of course, in a Carlos Santana kidding.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: There's, there's me and Carlos right there.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: Carlos's drummer is Cindy Blackman Santana.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: She was Lenny Kravitz's drummer.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: Carlos says, I love drummer so much.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: I married mine.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_01]: So Carlos's drummer is Cindy.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: And then they have a Tim Pani guy.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then a Kunda data, the show.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: If you haven't seen the show.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: I got to go.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's down the street from my house.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's it's a sick experience and you hit me up and I'll see if I can't I sit in Carlos to see which doesn't suck but it's such an intimate environment yeah that even if you get standing remotely you're like ten feet away from a legend on this season enlightened being
- 38:09[SPEAKER_02]: I actually got to go to that venue because I was, I thought I was eating tickets for the counting crows, but I got tickets to the black crows.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: My friends invited me and I'm there and I'm going, I don't know any of these songs.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_02]: I have no idea who might even seem.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like literally Googling.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, oh, this is a very famous band that I know that thing about.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_01]: Go from dig this.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: So, so.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: They were in town in San Diego.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: I was supposed to be in Vietnam.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_01]: My trip Vietnam got canceled, so I'm in San Diego.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: So, okay, so I go see them.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: And so the county grows in San Tana.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know who county grows was.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: So when you actually saw the county grows and I saw the black grows, or you.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_01]: I saw the county grows.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: So now I'm sitting there with my wife and my sister-in-law is in from, and so we're there, and I'm actually enjoying Count and Crosse.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: They're really good.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: That lead singer is like a... Right.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: The electrical performer.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's unbelievable.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm digging the music.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: I get the text.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: Can you come back stage now?
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like,
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: torn between two.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I'm digging in this music, but who doesn't want to go backstage in hang?
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: With Carlos Santana.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was kind of like, yeah, my life doesn't suck.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's awesome.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's right.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like my life doesn't suck.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
