- 0:13Hi Jay Fallon, thanks for listening to the slippery slope.
- 0:16So if you're living in Queensland which is just happens
- 0:20to be the greatest state not just within Australia in the
- 0:24world, take my word for it happens to be the state where I
- 0:28live in. If you happen to be living here
- 0:30well then you will know that our premier Anastasia Palache pulled
- 0:36a pin on her political career last night.
- 0:38I believe it was. She believes she is leaving
- 0:41behind a great legacy. She she states that she's that
- 0:47the state of Queensland is in is running in good form and she's
- 0:52leaving it leaving it in in in in great health.
- 0:57This is what she believes. I think there's she's caused a
- 1:01lot lot of problems throughout her career.
- 1:04A lot more than you could even I I had no idea how she kept kept
- 1:08getting voted in. She really saved the Labour
- 1:11Party when they were at the very lowest that they could go here
- 1:14in Queensland, turned it around. I think it might have been kind
- 1:17of her girl next door attitude that she first came along with
- 1:21and then for some reason we kept voting for her.
- 1:23When I say we, I mean other people out there because I
- 1:25didn't want to. Part of her.
- 1:27She made a a fool of Queenslanders when it came to
- 1:31the COVID period and what she did with the borders, locking
- 1:34down the borders, keeping families separated.
- 1:38But at the same time, I believe she allowed herself to go to
- 1:42Japan was it for a trip? She also allowed sports people
- 1:45to come in because heaven forbid we could, you know, have one
- 1:50rule for everyone. I think it was the NRL grand
- 1:53final or something. You know the families of NRLI
- 1:56mean we love our footy. But you know why?
- 2:00Why on earth should the football players or the football players
- 2:02family have been given special exemptions and yet we had
- 2:06families literally living only kilometres apart down on the
- 2:11Queensland, NSW border. They weren't allowed to, weren't
- 2:15allowed to come across, families who would just shut off.
- 2:20Forget about it. If you lived over in WA and you
- 2:23wanted and you need to come over because you had that dictator
- 2:26McGowan ruling ruling with an iron fist over in WA and then
- 2:31you had al lovely Anastasia ruling with an iron fist here in
- 2:36QLD allowing the allowing the the Queensland Police
- 2:42commissioner to bring in COVID mandates.
- 2:47She was someone who she started off extremely popular.
- 2:50I found she had no backbone. She really, she really didn't
- 2:55seem to stand for anything in particular.
- 2:58She seemed to like the limelight, seemed to go to a lot
- 3:03of red carpet events, really like the limelight.
- 3:08She got the new boyfriend a little while ago, the surgeon
- 3:11and mate. Her head just did not seem to be
- 3:13in the game ever since he came on a board.
- 3:16Like I said, she seemed to make a real mess of some of the
- 3:20issues when it came to COVID. A mockery of some of the things
- 3:24when it came to COVID. I think as much as she may
- 3:29believe that she's got her legacy is her legacy is
- 3:34extremely good. I think people are going to be
- 3:37looking back at this, this time frame and realizing just what a
- 3:41poor job she did. I'm going to read a couple of
- 3:44comments, couple of comments that came across from our
- 3:49listeners who seem to be all over.
- 3:52One says that I think Anna was given the option of the noose or
- 3:55the plank. It was only last week that Anna
- 3:57stated that I'll be finishing my term and leading the party into
- 4:01the next election and she took the plank option.
- 4:04And what I think they're talking about here is it seemed pretty
- 4:07obvious that Anastasia's popularity had plummeted and
- 4:12this, her popularity was the only thing that was keeping her
- 4:15in power because it's not even her side of the of the Labour
- 4:19Party that were ruling that had the power.
- 4:22She's, I believe on the supposed the righter side of politics.
- 4:26It's the left side of the Labour Party that's running things at
- 4:29the moment really and she's really just a figurehead.
- 4:31But she had no power. She didn't really stand for
- 4:33anything, this other other listener said, NSW, NT, WA,
- 4:39Victoria, all shock resignations can't vote them out yet.
- 4:43Here we are. Look, Dan Andrews resigned just
- 4:47a couple of was it a month ago or so.
- 4:50Here's another one. His legacy is atrocious, yet he
- 4:54kept getting voted in. These people were getting voted
- 4:57in back in when the, you know, everyone was living in fear.
- 5:01The fear that they kept, they kept announcing that we had to,
- 5:05we had to be fearful of COVID. And then they got voted back in.
- 5:09And we've seen now that people like Dan Andrews and Anastasia
- 5:14Palaszczuk, their popularity was plummeting and so they've chosen
- 5:18to pull the pin, thinking they they'll go out on their terms.
- 5:22Really, they could see the writing on the wall.
- 5:24So the last comment I was going to read was from Man of Faith
- 5:27Ministries, he said. Because Anastasia said she's
- 5:30leaving the state in good shape. Like you said, that narcissistic
- 5:34comment shows all and sundry just how much this woman is
- 5:39detached from reality. Talk about detached from
- 5:41reality. Like I mentioned before, she
- 5:43kept showing off with these red carpet events.
- 5:46Everyone was seeing it, just travelling all over the world,
- 5:48showing going to all these red carp events here in Queensland
- 5:52and that and it seemed like you're sitting there going,
- 5:55who's actually running the state here?
- 5:57Who's doing the job? She, I think she'd pulled the
- 6:00pin a while ago. She had the new boyfriend for a
- 6:03while now and she's more interested in him than anything
- 6:05else. Anyway, he goes on to say the
- 6:09reporter called her a trailblazer in the lead in the
- 6:12lead in. But I would be more inclined to
- 6:14say arsonist who set the fire of destruction and then leaves the
- 6:19aftermath for everyone else. I've got a yeah, I agree with
- 6:24you man of faith. Definitely the arsonist.
- 6:26She may cause so many problems in her leaving, I don't think in
- 6:32in reality. I think it's going to be one of
- 6:33those situations where when she's gone, people are going to
- 6:36realize just how many issues she caused, like what's happening
- 6:40now in Victoria with Dan Andrews.
- 6:42They're looking back, thinking he politicized that state, the
- 6:46police so badly. She's done exactly the same
- 6:49thing here, just with a bit of a nicer smile on her face.
- 6:53That's about all she's done. So obviously we have to get a
- 6:56new leader or the Labour Party and a new premier, which I I
- 7:00hate this fact that they can pull the pin And then we, you
- 7:04know, we just end up with a new leader like this anyway.
- 7:08But who's it going to be that that Lady Fenterman, the one who
- 7:12says, you know, that if a man stands up and says he's a woman,
- 7:16well then we all have to believe it.
- 7:18She doesn't come across as the, what can I say, that's kind of
- 7:26nice. I don't think she.
- 7:28I don't think she's the most fit person, put it that way.
- 7:31Stephen Miles wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him to
- 7:36be quite frank, but that's probably due to some other
- 7:42biases I have. But that's probably going to be
- 7:45a choice between them two, really, and I don't trust either
- 7:49of them anyway. Let's see how it all works out.
- 7:52Let me know what you think about Anastasia Palache leaving,
- 7:56pulling the pin on being a premier of the great state of
- 8:00Queensland. And do you think she's left the
- 8:02state in good shape? That's the question.
- 8:06I think in the future they're going to be looking back at
- 8:10Anastasia Palache and not judging her with the fondness
- 8:15that she believes she'll be judged with.
- 8:17Anyway, that's just my opinion. You let me know what you think.
- 8:20Thank you for listening to the slippery slide they.
