- 0:24Speaker 1: to join Us, and coming up at about fifteen minutes
- 0:27Speaker 1: live from Wimbledon. It's gonna be Patrick McEnroe.
- 0:32Speaker 4: Don't be angry just because you're saying it right.
- 0:35Speaker 1: I did a hissed at you right there, Izzy. I
- 0:38Speaker 1: am so confused. The United States appears to finally be
- 0:43Speaker 1: good at soccer, and I have no idea what the
- 0:46Speaker 1: Celtics were thinking by trading Jalen Brown to a team
- 0:50Speaker 1: they just lost to in the Eastern Conference semi finals
- 0:54Speaker 1: in the Philadelphia seventy six Ers.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I'm sorry in the first round.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Right yep, trading them inside that division, inside that conference
- 1:01Speaker 1: and making the Sixers a better team than the Boston Celtics.
- 1:06Speaker 3: So confused.
- 1:07Speaker 4: It feels like they were just trying to get the
- 1:08Speaker 4: deal done before the USA Soccer match started, because it
- 1:13Speaker 4: felt like they were on some sort of pressured deadline
- 1:17Speaker 4: that they weren't on right, Like, yes, you probably ruined
- 1:21Speaker 4: some relationships or the relationships some by offering him from Milwaukee,
- 1:26Speaker 4: you know, so publicly, and even that you could say,
- 1:31Speaker 4: you could talk yourself off of being insulting because it's
- 1:33Speaker 4: Yanni Santeto Kumpa.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Well, that's what I was gonna say.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Is it really that insulting if you're Jalen Brown and
- 1:38Speaker 1: publicly they dangled you out there for Giannis, one of
- 1:41Speaker 1: the best players in NBA history.
- 1:42Speaker 4: No, because if you just want to go one for one, yes,
- 1:44Speaker 4: you've won a championship, Yes, you've won a finals MVP.
- 1:47Speaker 4: He's done that too, and he's got a couple of MVPs,
- 1:50Speaker 4: and he's got a deepoy and he's still thirty one
- 1:52Speaker 4: years old, So it shouldn't be insulting for him to
- 1:56Speaker 4: be dangled in that trade. But for whatever reason, it
- 1:59Speaker 4: felt like they were under immense pressure to get something
- 2:02Speaker 4: done immediately, very soon after the honest deal happened to Miami.
- 2:07Speaker 4: And you know, the new year starts, a new league
- 2:10Speaker 4: year starts, and to me, stude, that just sounds like
- 2:13Speaker 4: an ownership edict. You know, they changed ownership, and they're
- 2:16Speaker 4: probably looking at Jalen Brown's contract and when they have
- 2:19Speaker 4: to extend him and saying, wait a second, what's this
- 2:21Speaker 4: going to cost us? Like seventy million dollars annually for
- 2:24Speaker 4: a player that we're still not even that sure is
- 2:28Speaker 4: you know, belongs you know, top of the league, all NBA,
- 2:30Speaker 4: all second team MBA. So yeah, it just felt like
- 2:34Speaker 4: pressure from up top to get something done. And they
- 2:36Speaker 4: convinced themselves on Paul George. Maybe because Paul had a
- 2:39Speaker 4: decent series against them, Maybe because Paul they know they
- 2:42Speaker 4: can move on from him without any you know, hesitation,
- 2:45Speaker 4: without any real fear of ruining anything that they've built
- 2:48Speaker 4: so far. So I think the most embarrassing part for
- 2:52Speaker 4: them is, like you mentioned going to Philly, right, the
- 2:55Speaker 4: team in your division, Yes, the team that just came
- 2:58Speaker 4: back and beat you in the first.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Because I think Celtic fans would say, hey, if you
- 3:03Speaker 1: feel the need to trade them, if it's economics, if
- 3:06Speaker 1: it's you just want to get rid of the guy.
- 3:08Speaker 1: He's not good in your locker room, do you have
- 3:10Speaker 1: to trade him to someone? We have to face, you know,
- 3:13Speaker 1: fifteen times a year and potentially in the playoffs, right.
- 3:16Speaker 4: And the other thing is is like I look back
- 3:18Speaker 4: at this and think, you know, they for years people
- 3:22Speaker 4: in the media were just like, I think it's time
- 3:23Speaker 4: to break up Brown and Tatum. I don't think they
- 3:26Speaker 4: can win a championship together. And it's almost like they
- 3:28Speaker 4: got stubborn in the front office and said, no, I
- 3:30Speaker 4: don't care what you think, We're going to win a
- 3:32Speaker 4: championship with these guys. Absolutely loaded up the roster and
- 3:36Speaker 4: they finally accomplished it.
- 3:37Speaker 3: They did it.
- 3:38Speaker 4: And so when you come off of a year where
- 3:41Speaker 4: you didn't have the same type of talent, not only
- 3:43Speaker 4: was Jason Tatum out for most of the year, but
- 3:45Speaker 4: your supporting cast was not what it was before, you're
- 3:48Speaker 4: going to make a judgment on the one player who
- 3:51Speaker 4: was basically carrying you throughout. That tells me it's not
- 3:55Speaker 4: about basketball. It tells me it's about finances and it's
- 3:58Speaker 4: some sort of personality. Because you could also argue, hey,
- 4:02Speaker 4: if it's about finances, move on from Jason Tatum. If
- 4:04Speaker 4: Jalen Brown is your Finals MVP is your main piece,
- 4:08Speaker 4: they obviously think of Tatum higher than that. So they
- 4:11Speaker 4: went with Brown. And it's an issue where you could
- 4:13Speaker 4: also argue maybe they've ruined the seventy six ers organization
- 4:18Speaker 4: right now because look at their plan. Their plan was Tyres,
- 4:20Speaker 4: Maxi and VJ Edgecomb. Sure the plan was built around
- 4:23Speaker 4: those guys. Obviously try to share the timeline with Embiid
- 4:26Speaker 4: as much as possible. But now you get Jalen Brown
- 4:28Speaker 4: in their Taylor. Do you think Jalen Brown goes in
- 4:30Speaker 4: there and says, fine, I'll be the third or fourth
- 4:33Speaker 4: option behind Maxi and Embiid, Or does Jalen Brown go
- 4:36Speaker 4: in there saying I have to have a monster season,
- 4:38Speaker 4: be a number one option and back up everything that
- 4:41Speaker 4: I've done in Boston.
- 4:43Speaker 5: I think that's more likely. He goes in thinking that
- 4:45Speaker 5: it's going to try to be his team, But that's
- 4:47Speaker 5: a lot of personalities that you have to kind of
- 4:49Speaker 5: manage there. The counter I would have to that point
- 4:52Speaker 5: is he every team that has traded Paul George historically
- 4:57Speaker 5: has gotten significantly better. And I'm wondering here how many
- 5:01Speaker 5: teams are gonna still trade for Paul George. If Boston
- 5:05Speaker 5: makes the playoffs, He'll be thirty seven next playoffs. And
- 5:08Speaker 5: if you told Celtics fans before last season, Jason Tatum
- 5:12Speaker 5: with Terror's Achilles, they'd still finish as the two seed
- 5:16Speaker 5: in the East. They'd probably think that they'd be thrilled instead.
- 5:19Speaker 5: Look how they feel today. They're saying it's the worst
- 5:21Speaker 5: trade in Boston sports history. It feels like there's no
- 5:24Speaker 5: argument today that Boston is worse off than they were
- 5:27Speaker 5: this time yesterday.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Boston traded Babe Ruth. They traded it for money.
- 5:34Speaker 4: They traded the greatest baseball player ever for money.
- 5:36Speaker 6: And this is just as bad.
- 5:39Speaker 4: I mean, if you just go by the people that
- 5:42Speaker 4: he was traded for, you could build an all Star team. Well,
- 5:45Speaker 4: you could say he's the greatest player of all time
- 5:47Speaker 4: because it was Shay Gildess, Alexander Yes, Demontis de Bonis,
- 5:50Speaker 4: Victor Oladipo, Danilo Gallinari, Jalen Brown, seven first round picks
- 5:56Speaker 4: and four picks. But this guy is somebody's goat.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, because that's incredible, But is he It's a great
- 6:03Speaker 1: point you make about Philadelphia And because in Bee thinks
- 6:06Speaker 1: it's his team, Max, he thinks it's his team.
- 6:09Speaker 3: Edgecombe says, Hey, one day, it's gonna be.
- 6:10Speaker 1: My team, and Jalen Brown's like, nah, all you get
- 6:13Speaker 1: the hell out of the way.
- 6:15Speaker 3: This is my team.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Well, Jalen Brown's on Twitch telling everybody that Joel Embiid
- 6:19Speaker 4: is a flopper. Remember that after the playoffs ended. Yeh,
- 6:21Speaker 4: so that that's gonna be now. I'm sure they can
- 6:24Speaker 4: hash it out the way you would assume Tatum and
- 6:26Speaker 4: he could have hashed out whatever issues. I'm sure they'll
- 6:28Speaker 4: do it. I'm sure you know. Mbiid can swallow his
- 6:30Speaker 4: pride a little bit because he knows he's probably has
- 6:32Speaker 4: the most championship ready team that he's had since twenty nineteen.
- 6:36Speaker 4: But it clearly is you know something that is going.
- 6:39Speaker 5: To have to be addressed, is he Where was your
- 6:41Speaker 5: level of surprise that it was Philadelphia, because in all
- 6:44Speaker 5: the lead up to the Jalen Brown it felt like
- 6:47Speaker 5: we never really heard anything about this Philadelphia team thinking
- 6:50Speaker 5: about even making this move. And a point that we
- 6:52Speaker 5: made earlier on the podcast, every mock trade that we
- 6:57Speaker 5: saw for Jalen Brown, this would have been the worst one.
- 7:00Speaker 3: Yeah, by far, I.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Would have put two teams on the no trade list
- 7:05Speaker 4: if I was the Celtics and I'm dealing Jalen Brown
- 7:07Speaker 4: and it's the Sixers and the Miami Heat it's the
- 7:10Speaker 4: local rival, the closest rival literally geographically, and then you
- 7:14Speaker 4: know the rival that you've had over the several years.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Last thing you wanted Jalen Brown putting on a Heat
- 7:18Speaker 4: uniform the way Ray Allen did. So, Yeah, it was.
- 7:21Speaker 4: It was quite shocking, Like I literally took a little nap,
- 7:24Speaker 4: woke up and looked at my phone, and I thought
- 7:25Speaker 4: I was being pranked. Like I thought I was being pranked,
- 7:27Speaker 4: and yet Stu Gotts there was an NBA All Star
- 7:31Speaker 4: on my phone, a former NBA All Star, who said,
- 7:33Speaker 4: Who's immediate reaction, I'm just all I'm gonna tell you
- 7:36Speaker 4: is he's not a Miami Heat player, I'll say, all right,
- 7:38Speaker 4: or former Miami Heat player. First reaction, I think Boston
- 7:42Speaker 4: won this trade.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Oh I hate that guy. I can't stand that guy.
- 7:46Speaker 1: When every hee's zigging, he needs this egg.
- 7:49Speaker 5: I don't even know if that was historically that's been you.
- 7:54Speaker 3: And I hate myself, I do.
- 7:57Speaker 4: That's a that's a good pull, Taylor.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I thought immediately to myself, Brad Stevens is very good
- 8:02Speaker 1: at his job.
- 8:03Speaker 3: I think he's very good at his job.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Like I'm thinking to myself, they make this deal there
- 8:07Speaker 1: has to be another deal in the works after this,
- 8:10Speaker 1: and you're telling me no, I was discussing it with
- 8:12Speaker 1: you earlier.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not sure if there's definitely not another deal,
- 8:15Speaker 4: but this wasn't. You could tell this deal wasn't made
- 8:18Speaker 4: with the idea that they have one already in place,
- 8:21Speaker 4: already in the works. It's just, hey, for whatever reason,
- 8:24Speaker 4: we need to get off this Jalen Brown. And I'm
- 8:26Speaker 4: just gonna say contract, we need to get off this
- 8:28Speaker 4: Jalen Brown contract and then find a way to continue
- 8:32Speaker 4: whatever it was we were doing. You could argue that
- 8:34Speaker 4: they say to themselves, well, hold on, we just won
- 8:37Speaker 4: what was it, fifty six games largely without Jason Tatum.
- 8:41Speaker 4: So now if we just flip that and go just
- 8:44Speaker 4: Jason Tatum without Jalen Brown, we're probably gonna win a
- 8:47Speaker 4: good number of games. If you look at the on
- 8:49Speaker 4: off numbers that Tom Haberstrow posted earlier today, it's pretty
- 8:53Speaker 4: damning for Jalen Brown and games without Jalen Brown. I
- 8:56Speaker 4: want to say they were thirty six and six over
- 8:58Speaker 4: the last few years, and so they can convince themselves that, hey,
- 9:02Speaker 4: we have this order to get to you know, to
- 9:04Speaker 4: not have to worry about his contract. We can bring
- 9:06Speaker 4: in another guy that, hey, when he was on, can
- 9:08Speaker 4: give you, you know, can blow up for an entire
- 9:10Speaker 4: quarter or half, maybe even a game. And yeah, we
- 9:13Speaker 4: can probably recreate what we did last year with Jason
- 9:16Speaker 4: Tatum as our lead instead of Jalen Brown, and Paul
- 9:19Speaker 4: George is my number two. Derek White still there, who's
- 9:21Speaker 4: probably the most important piece of that team. It's not
- 9:24Speaker 4: named Brown or Tatum. So I think they can convince
- 9:26Speaker 4: themselves that they that they can still be a really
- 9:29Speaker 4: good team and that Brad Stevens still did a decent
- 9:31Speaker 4: job with what he was forced to do.
- 9:34Speaker 1: It is odd or I guess validated what it is
- 9:37Speaker 1: you just said that the fact that on FanDuel the
- 9:40Speaker 1: odds for Philadelphia jumped very high to them getting out
- 9:44Speaker 1: of the East, making it to the finals, winning an
- 9:46Speaker 1: NBA title, they jumped up with Boston. They're still one
- 9:51Speaker 1: of the favorites, meaning their odds didn't go down nearly
- 9:54Speaker 1: as much as you would have thought they would go
- 9:56Speaker 1: down after losing Jalen Bratt. So maybe there's something to
- 9:59Speaker 1: what it is you're saying.
- 10:00Speaker 4: Yeah, and there was a time right after the honest tradehere,
- 10:02Speaker 4: I think Boston was still the favorite. Yeah, it's again
- 10:04Speaker 4: to the East, so yeah, it tells you what you
- 10:06Speaker 4: need to know there.
- 10:06Speaker 3: What's up Taylor? Is he?
- 10:07Speaker 5: According to Kurt Goldsberry, Dunksen three, which is a reputable
- 10:11Speaker 5: basketball analytics website that uses van stats and projections, says,
- 10:16Speaker 5: Jalen Brown is the eighty seventh best player in the league.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Where is the disconnect? Because the eye test is telling
- 10:23Speaker 5: us he's a top twenty player in the league. He's
- 10:25Speaker 5: a second team All NBA selection, he's a Finals MVP,
- 10:29Speaker 5: But his trade value and analytics are telling us, No,
- 10:32Speaker 5: that's not even really close to accurate to me.
- 10:34Speaker 4: It's style of play. To me, Jalen Brown in nineteen
- 10:37Speaker 4: ninety five is All NBA first team every single year,
- 10:40Speaker 4: right because he's strong, physical, quick, fast enough mid range
- 10:44Speaker 4: that's his goal every single time. If I'm not gonna
- 10:46Speaker 4: dunk it, I can rise up for this mid range.
- 10:48Speaker 4: You can't really reach, you know, my heights when I'm
- 10:50Speaker 4: pulling up, when I'm jumping straight up, and I got
- 10:52Speaker 4: a nice clean mid range jump shot.
- 10:54Speaker 3: I think when you.
- 10:55Speaker 4: You know, play today's game, you really got to do
- 10:57Speaker 4: a little bit more of the Jason Tatum thing. It's
- 10:59Speaker 4: either you know as what's the name of the website,
- 11:01Speaker 4: the podcast dunks three duncsan three's is all you want, right,
- 11:04Speaker 4: and so the mid range is not really your thing,
- 11:07Speaker 4: And so I think that's it's a style of play.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Thing for him.
- 11:10Speaker 4: If if he were to want to be more efficient offensively,
- 11:14Speaker 4: he could be. He could, he would require him to
- 11:17Speaker 4: be on a team that says, hey, I'm optioned one
- 11:19Speaker 4: A at all times. Give me the ball on the post,
- 11:21Speaker 4: share the ball at the top, give me the screen
- 11:23Speaker 4: and roll. I don't think he's going to have all
- 11:24Speaker 4: those opportunities with Philly because it's just going to be
- 11:27Speaker 4: spread out. So yeah, I think analytics does him a
- 11:31Speaker 4: disservice because he's got sort of an old school game.
- 11:34Speaker 4: But can you win with him?
- 11:35Speaker 3: Literally? Have you literally have If.
- 11:37Speaker 1: You're Lebron James and you're looking over the landscape, and
- 11:40Speaker 1: he is, and he will take his time now because
- 11:42Speaker 1: he has the entire stage to himself, Philadelphia becomes a
- 11:46Speaker 1: bit more attractive.
- 11:47Speaker 3: It does, I mean, is he?
- 11:48Speaker 1: It does if you're willing, if you're wanting to win
- 11:50Speaker 1: a championship and you're willing to play for the league
- 11:53Speaker 1: minimum being the fifth guy on that team, not that
- 11:56Speaker 1: Lebron would be the fifth guy.
- 11:57Speaker 3: That's got to be attractive to him.
- 12:00Speaker 5: My think about it, Thursday, Oh well, oh really really? Yeah?
- 12:03Speaker 5: Has has Philadelphia quietly become the team that makes me
- 12:06Speaker 5: ruin it?
- 12:06Speaker 4: I can take over that.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I think he was good? Well, I didn't know that.
- 12:10Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Taylor. Taylor is a nick fan.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Though the Sixers make you more nervous than the Celtics
- 12:17Speaker 1: at this point, don't they?
- 12:18Speaker 5: As a neutral right now? I would be rooting for
- 12:21Speaker 5: Lebron to go to Philadelphia one because it makes the
- 12:24Speaker 5: most sense in terms of going to a team that
- 12:27Speaker 5: Lebron could be the thing that puts them over to
- 12:29Speaker 5: the top and become a title contender. But also is
- 12:32Speaker 5: isy that black retro seventy six ers jersey so nice
- 12:36Speaker 5: would be the number one selling jersey with with twenty
- 12:39Speaker 5: three James on the back.
- 12:40Speaker 4: But here, here's here's my issue with Lebron and Philly. Okay,
- 12:44Speaker 4: how many years have we seen Joel Embiid not end
- 12:49Speaker 4: the playoffs either not in it at all healthy or
- 12:52Speaker 4: not end it, you know, playing well because he's injured
- 12:54Speaker 4: pretty much every single one right except for maybe nineteen
- 12:58Speaker 4: if even if you have a lineup of bj Edgecombe, Tyres, Maxi,
- 13:03Speaker 4: Jalen Brown, Lebron James, and Joel Embiid, that entire team's
- 13:07Speaker 4: success is dependent on the health of Joel Embiid, because yeah, Maxi, Edgecombe,
- 13:12Speaker 4: jb and Lebron. Nice team not going to be a
- 13:15Speaker 4: favorite to run through the playoffs in next year's NBA,
- 13:18Speaker 4: which is absolutely loaded. So I think, yeah, the health
- 13:22Speaker 4: of Embiid. Embiid's history still has people hesitant. I think
- 13:25Speaker 4: Lebron is not by any chance taking his last year
- 13:29Speaker 4: potentially his last year and making it dependent on that
- 13:32Speaker 4: dude's health and then dependent on Embiid and Jaylen Brown
- 13:36Speaker 4: getting along Like he's already been there with brand new teams.
- 13:39Speaker 4: He knows it's hard to get that chemistry that doesn't
- 13:41Speaker 4: feel like they're right fit for me.
- 13:43Speaker 5: They're calling hawk Porty. The Embiid insurance is that what
- 13:46Speaker 5: they're calling them.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Put it on the pole.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I will tell you this, If I'm Lebron and I
- 13:50Speaker 1: choose Philadelphia, I get together with Jalen Brown and Edgecombe
- 13:53Speaker 1: and Maxie, and I tell Joel Embiid, Hey, you're good
- 13:56Speaker 1: for the entire regular season. Just rest up for the postseason.
- 14:00Speaker 1: We've got the regular season covered. You be healthy for
- 14:03Speaker 1: the postseason. That's when we need you and Stu.
- 14:05Speaker 5: Adding to that, Stephen Gansey, the brother of seventy six
- 14:10Speaker 5: Ers GM, posted on Twitter a photo of his brother,
- 14:14Speaker 5: the GM, Mike Gansey, and Lebron James together in high
- 14:17Speaker 5: school and just tweeted it with the eyes open emotion.
- 14:20Speaker 4: That's what's really gonna get Lebron nostalgic. Oh, I went
- 14:23Speaker 4: to high school with this guy. Let me go play
- 14:24Speaker 4: for the Sixers.
- 14:25Speaker 5: So they didn't even go to high school together. They
- 14:26Speaker 5: were just in a photo shoot together.
- 14:28Speaker 3: That's all that matters.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yes, that's all he needs, and you would agree this
- 14:31Speaker 1: GM has already done more than Darryl Mory.
- 14:33Speaker 4: I mean, I will say though, getting Lebron on that
- 14:36Speaker 4: team will fix the graphic that people have been running
- 14:39Speaker 4: ever since the Jalen Brown trade because that one has
- 14:41Speaker 4: the starters as embiid Maxi Edgecombe Brown, and Dean Wade.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Let's replace Stean Wade.
- 14:48Speaker 5: Lebron Dean Wade. Any right, Lebron going to play with
- 14:51Speaker 5: the d Wade.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Reunited.

- 15:28Speaker 6: is telling me more power. Lucandoff also is giving up
- 15:30Speaker 6: the entire Rightes goal till the.
- 15:39Speaker 5: States.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Wow, what a goal.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I mean, I'm wrapped up in the soccer like everyone else.
- 15:45Speaker 1: But the play of the day should have been the
- 15:46Speaker 1: Sixers GM getting Jaubert from the Celtics.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I ain't know, I mean yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 4: They they were reportedly trying to get rid of Paul
- 15:55Speaker 4: George anyway and shop him and they would have to
- 15:57Speaker 4: give up a pick to just to get rid of him.
- 15:59Speaker 4: And instead you just give up one more pick and
- 16:01Speaker 4: get back Jalen Brown.
- 16:02Speaker 3: What a win? Yeah, Stu.
- 16:03Speaker 5: Maybe my favorite reporting during this was Tom habit Strow's
- 16:08Speaker 5: reporting where he said the Celtics are banking on Peyton
- 16:11Speaker 5: Pritchard making a Jalen Brunson type.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Leap what I'm sorry read that again? Please?
- 16:19Speaker 5: What the Celtics are banking on Peyton Pritchard making a
- 16:24Speaker 5: Jalen Brunson type. Per Tom Haberstrow, the exact quote is
- 16:29Speaker 5: the Celtics trading Jalen Brown is a bet that Peyton
- 16:31Speaker 5: Pritchard is their in house version of New York Knicks
- 16:35Speaker 5: gard Jalen Brunson, a diminutive player who didn't fully show
- 16:39Speaker 5: his talents until Luca was out of the picture. So,
- 16:41Speaker 5: Peyton Pritchard, good luck.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Being Jalen Brunson. Yes, I thought this was all about
- 16:46Speaker 1: Yugo Gonzalez. I mean, change your life. Good luck selling
- 16:51Speaker 1: that to your fan base. Hey, we did this trade
- 16:54Speaker 1: because we believe Peyton Pritchard is going to be the
- 16:56Speaker 1: next Jalen Brunson.
- 16:58Speaker 4: I mean, look, nobody believed that Jalen Brunston was going
- 17:01Speaker 4: to be the next Jalen Brunson. So I can't say
- 17:03Speaker 4: I did. I can't say that.
- 17:06Speaker 3: You know, it's impossible right, but.
- 17:08Speaker 1: What what what's going on in Boston?
- 17:12Speaker 4: Maybe they do have terrible uh you know, basketball ops
- 17:15Speaker 4: people with terrible assessments, because what I mean this isn't
- 17:21Speaker 4: even a knock on Peyton Pritchard. He is a nice player.
- 17:23Speaker 4: You averaged seventeen points a game, which I never thought
- 17:26Speaker 4: he'd be able to do. But did we see what
- 17:29Speaker 4: Jalen Brunston just did.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Yeah, go ahead, Uh, this is per Sham's too. The
- 17:36Speaker 5: Celtics originally asked the Sixers for five first round picks VJ.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Edgecumbe and Paul George. Oh my god, boy did they
- 17:46Speaker 5: come off that price.
- 17:48Speaker 4: I mean, that's time to go to work. You got
- 17:51Speaker 4: to aim for the sky. But good lord, the Sixers countered,
- 17:55Speaker 4: and the Celtics were like, Okay, we'll take that.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Aim for the sky, but don't settle for the seal.
- 18:00Speaker 1: He don't settle for the floor.
- 18:02Speaker 6: Geez.
- 18:02Speaker 5: When I went into negotiations with Fox Sports Radio and
- 18:05Speaker 5: Steve Gotts, my original demand was five million dollars.
- 18:10Speaker 4: So glad you landed on just the one. Hey have
- 18:17Speaker 4: you guys seen this new proposed well it's not really
- 18:19Speaker 4: a proposed rule.
- 18:20Speaker 3: The NBA is gonna use it.
- 18:21Speaker 4: I believe in summer league, maybe even some G league
- 18:23Speaker 4: where it's the one free throw rule, where effectively it
- 18:26Speaker 4: doesn't matter what shot you attempt, a two or three,
- 18:29Speaker 4: you will take one free throw and it will count
- 18:31Speaker 4: for two points if you shot at two, or three
- 18:33Speaker 4: points if you were fouled shooting a three, And then
- 18:36Speaker 4: in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter and
- 18:38Speaker 4: then overtime if there is any the rules go back
- 18:40Speaker 4: to normal where you have to make all the free throws.
- 18:42Speaker 4: So during pressure time, right during pressure time, you make more.
- 18:45Speaker 4: You have to take more free throws. To me, I
- 18:47Speaker 4: don't like I really don't like this, but it's just
- 18:50Speaker 4: because it messes what I'm with, what I'm familiar with,
- 18:52Speaker 4: right because like, I don't really want to watch Steph
- 18:55Speaker 4: Curry make two free throws. I'm pretty sure he's gonna
- 18:57Speaker 4: make them both every single time, but the time that
- 18:59Speaker 4: he missed is one, and then it's like a one
- 19:01Speaker 4: point game down the stretch. I want to be able
- 19:04Speaker 4: to say, damn, if Steph Curry would have made that
- 19:06Speaker 4: free throw instead, it's one free throw could cost you
- 19:09Speaker 4: three points. I think that's a little too little, too
- 19:12Speaker 4: like penalizing.
- 19:14Speaker 3: What would be the reason to do that just speeding
- 19:16Speaker 3: up the game.
- 19:16Speaker 4: It feels like it's speeding up the game. Nobody wants
- 19:18Speaker 4: to see free throws. And maybe maybe could try to
- 19:21Speaker 4: get people to foul to defend without fouling.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I'd be good with just giving Steph the two and
- 19:26Speaker 1: moving it on, you know, like, hey, let's keep playing Steph.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Those are good, Let's move it on. Yeah, speaking of
- 19:31Speaker 1: moving on, I don't like that rule at all. I
- 19:34Speaker 1: am excited here. By the way, Taylor Twelveman going to
- 19:36Speaker 1: join us at about a half hour, ice Cube gonna
- 19:38Speaker 1: join us at hour number two as well.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Wimbleton is going on.
- 19:42Speaker 1: I have to say it like that, Patrick McEnroe, do
- 19:44Speaker 1: you find yourself saying Wimbleton as a guy from Long
- 19:47Speaker 1: Island and.
- 19:48Speaker 6: Absolutely never I'm I'm glad you got that right.
- 19:52Speaker 7: I had to correct Anderson Cooper once on CNN because
- 19:55Speaker 7: in the commercial he said Wimbleton, and I said, Anderson, listen,
- 19:58Speaker 7: I'm not going to tell you your business anything, but
- 20:00Speaker 7: I want you to get.
- 20:01Speaker 6: This right, okay, And He's like, I'm not a big
- 20:04Speaker 6: sports fan.
- 20:05Speaker 7: I get it, but I know you are s two guys.
- 20:07Speaker 7: I know You're a big golfer and a big mad
- 20:09Speaker 7: dog guy. I love listening to you with the mad Dog.
- 20:12Speaker 7: This year your picks were horrendous, but I love listening
- 20:16Speaker 7: to you every week with Dog.
- 20:17Speaker 6: Loved it.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Patrick, I was like, fourteen games above five hundred.
- 20:21Speaker 6: I mean that's pretty good. I can give it. I
- 20:24Speaker 6: give you your props on that.
- 20:25Speaker 7: I just love the Dog getting on you about your
- 20:28Speaker 7: golf and are you gonna.
- 20:30Speaker 6: Watch this game? How could you not watch this? You
- 20:32Speaker 6: know he gives it.
- 20:33Speaker 7: He gives me the same shit, like, how come you
- 20:35Speaker 7: can you're not watching this game?
- 20:37Speaker 6: Well you're not a sports fan. Oh yes I am,
- 20:39Speaker 6: but I'm not insane like you.
- 20:42Speaker 1: The Championships Wimble Dunn continues through July twelfth, with daily
- 20:47Speaker 1: live coverage on ESPN, ESPN deportees at streaming live on
- 20:51Speaker 1: the ESPN app. Patrick, do you find, like, listen, any
- 20:56Speaker 1: other year, this would be the center of everyone's attention
- 20:59Speaker 1: in London in England? Do you find like maybe they're
- 21:02Speaker 1: kind of a little bit focused on Harry Kane and
- 21:05Speaker 1: the World Cup and not as much on the tennis
- 21:07Speaker 1: that's being played right now.
- 21:08Speaker 7: Well, I got to tell you, the crowds of Wimbledon
- 21:11Speaker 7: have been unbelievable.
- 21:12Speaker 6: But I hear you because I was watching. I was
- 21:15Speaker 6: riveted to the England.
- 21:16Speaker 7: Game because actually, yesterday, guys, yesterday it was my sixtieth birthday.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Wow, happy birthday.
- 21:20Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, but I appreciate that.
- 21:23Speaker 7: So ESPN was nice enough to let me, you know,
- 21:25Speaker 7: work eleven to four, leave a little bit early because
- 21:28Speaker 7: my wife came over, two of my three daughters, so
- 21:30Speaker 7: she put a nice dinner together for me. But we
- 21:33Speaker 7: were going to this restaurant in Chelsea where I stay about,
- 21:35Speaker 7: you know, halfway between London and Wimbledon is.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Where I stay.
- 21:40Speaker 7: And we found this nice, little local place, so they
- 21:43Speaker 7: hooked us up.
- 21:43Speaker 6: They took care of us.
- 21:44Speaker 7: But I said, if England lose it, it's just gonna
- 21:46Speaker 7: be everyone's gonna be so bummed.
- 21:48Speaker 3: So I was.
- 21:48Speaker 7: Watching the game, and you know, obviously they scored. Harry
- 21:51Speaker 7: Kane scored the two late goals.
- 21:52Speaker 6: And everybody was like, so oh, everybody's in a great mood.
- 21:55Speaker 6: I'm like, yeah, thank god they won because if they lost,
- 21:58Speaker 6: this would have been a nightmare tonight.
- 22:00Speaker 7: And then I watched a Belgium Senegal game, which is incredible.
- 22:03Speaker 7: I'm big too, I'm glad you have Taylor coming up
- 22:06Speaker 7: in the next half hour because I love the World Cup.
- 22:10Speaker 7: I'm you know, I'm someone that's traveled the world playing
- 22:13Speaker 7: tennis for my whole life, so coming to Europe as
- 22:16Speaker 7: often as I have, you know, soccer is obviously the
- 22:18Speaker 7: king over here.
- 22:20Speaker 6: And I'm not going to say I followed the Premier.
- 22:21Speaker 7: League or La Liga, you know, religiously like I do
- 22:24Speaker 7: the NFL to the NBA.
- 22:26Speaker 6: There's almost a goal for Spain. I'm watching Spain Austria.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I love it.
- 22:29Speaker 7: But I love the World Cup and I love what
- 22:32Speaker 7: Team USA is doing because they actually look like they
- 22:36Speaker 7: actually know how to play football or soccer as we
- 22:39Speaker 7: call it. Yes, they're organized, right, well, they're organized and
- 22:42Speaker 7: they have some skill player right. I can actually you know,
- 22:46Speaker 7: control the ball, make passes. Look like they're like a
- 22:51Speaker 7: real European type South American club.
- 22:54Speaker 6: So I'm loving it.
- 22:55Speaker 7: Belgium is going to be I said it to beginning
- 22:58Speaker 7: to this tournament World Cup. I know we're supposed to
- 23:01Speaker 7: be talking well, but I'm supposed.
- 23:02Speaker 3: To be promoted. We'll get there, We'll get we'll get
- 23:04Speaker 3: to that.
- 23:05Speaker 6: But I love what the team US say is doing.
- 23:07Speaker 7: And I said, I felt as a fan of US
- 23:10Speaker 7: soccer that they have to at least get to the
- 23:12Speaker 7: quarterfinals to make this successful. So I think that this
- 23:16Speaker 7: game coming up.
- 23:17Speaker 6: I don't know what the odds say. If we're the
- 23:19Speaker 6: favorite of this, I would say Belgium is probably the
- 23:21Speaker 6: slight favorite.
- 23:22Speaker 7: But the way the US is playing has been very
- 23:25Speaker 7: impressive throughout the tournament.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like Patrick, It's basically, you know, over the years,
- 23:29Speaker 4: there's always been one, maybe two players you would watch,
- 23:32Speaker 4: right like oh, Landon Donovan or oh Brian McBride or
- 23:35Speaker 4: oh Clint Dempsey. But now you watch all these guys
- 23:37Speaker 4: and it's just like it feels like they have all
- 23:39Speaker 4: the elements. They have multiple guys who are not just
- 23:42Speaker 4: fast athletic, but can handle the ball well and just
- 23:44Speaker 4: see and then they got the one touch passing stuff
- 23:46Speaker 4: where it feels like the chemistry is all there. We've
- 23:48Speaker 4: never seen it from the US before. It always feels
- 23:51Speaker 4: like the perfect time, it's a home World Cup for
- 23:53Speaker 4: them to sort of unveil this style, right.
- 23:55Speaker 6: Yeah, no, it's it's it's it's amazing because.
- 23:58Speaker 7: They actually look like they know where they're doing and
- 24:00Speaker 7: you know, in the past, we would be kind of
- 24:02Speaker 7: rough and tumble. We played tough defense, yeah, but we
- 24:05Speaker 7: didn't have really the skilled players in the middle of
- 24:07Speaker 7: the field and then up front. So we got we
- 24:09Speaker 7: have a nice mix of all players that can actually
- 24:12Speaker 7: play at all parts of the field.
- 24:13Speaker 6: So I'm loving it. All right. We did enough soccer
- 24:16Speaker 6: because I'm a huge but.
- 24:17Speaker 7: Let's get into Wimbledon, because I think this has been
- 24:20Speaker 7: an interesting first few days.
- 24:22Speaker 6: I mean, the Serena thing was big early.
- 24:24Speaker 7: I thought she played actually pretty damn well that in
- 24:28Speaker 7: that match on center court, actually sat there, believe it
- 24:31Speaker 7: or not.
- 24:31Speaker 6: Guys, I got my first invite ever to.
- 24:34Speaker 3: The Royal Box.
- 24:35Speaker 6: Okay, wow, which I don't know how that happened.
- 24:38Speaker 7: Maybe because I'm buddies with Tim Henman and he's a
- 24:40Speaker 7: big sort of committee guy at the club, and we
- 24:43Speaker 7: were talking at the French Open and we were just
- 24:45Speaker 7: riffing on stuff and he said, we were talking about
- 24:47Speaker 7: the Royal.
- 24:48Speaker 6: Box and I said, you know, I've never been there.
- 24:49Speaker 7: I've never been in the Royal Box. So next thing
- 24:51Speaker 7: I know, like a week later, after the French Open ended,
- 24:54Speaker 7: I get it. He goes, oh, check your email, you
- 24:55Speaker 7: got an invite so I was there. But anyway, I
- 24:58Speaker 7: was there for the first match Fiantech, her first match.
- 25:01Speaker 7: Then I went down and called the match with my
- 25:03Speaker 7: brother for ESPN, and ESPN was cool.
- 25:06Speaker 6: They said go, you know, go to the Royal Box, and.
- 25:08Speaker 7: Then I went back to watch Serena because I'm like,
- 25:11Speaker 7: I'm gonna go check this out. And Serena, I thought,
- 25:15Speaker 7: was actually hit.
- 25:16Speaker 6: The ball pretty well. The serve was very good, I thought. Now,
- 25:20Speaker 6: the movement obviously was not great, and she's forty four.
- 25:23Speaker 6: The movement wasn't.
- 25:24Speaker 7: Great by the way when she retired four years ago,
- 25:27Speaker 7: and that was to be expected.
- 25:29Speaker 6: But I thought she hit the ball extremely well.
- 25:33Speaker 7: And you know, the fact that she was able to
- 25:35Speaker 7: go out there and play at a pretty high level
- 25:39Speaker 7: in her first match in four years and singles was
- 25:42Speaker 7: pretty darn impressive. But I don't really know why she
- 25:45Speaker 7: came back other than she she just wanted to maybe
- 25:48Speaker 7: test herself, have her kid see her play. I mean,
- 25:51Speaker 7: she's the greatest of all time as far as I'm
- 25:53Speaker 7: concerned on the women's side, But to see her do
- 25:56Speaker 7: that and come back and play at a pretty high
- 25:58Speaker 7: level I thought was pretty dark.
- 26:00Speaker 3: Do you think we'll see more.
- 26:03Speaker 6: I think we will.
- 26:04Speaker 7: I think she'll probably try to play some this summer
- 26:07Speaker 7: in a in a tournament or two, and then try
- 26:10Speaker 7: to play in New York at the US Open.
- 26:11Speaker 6: And I don't think she's coming.
- 26:12Speaker 7: Back just to do like a one off, right, you know,
- 26:15Speaker 7: obviously there's some issue apparently.
- 26:17Speaker 6: With the knee once she uh you know.
- 26:19Speaker 7: Didn't come to the press, which I thought was a mistake.
- 26:22Speaker 7: She should have come to the press, even if she
- 26:24Speaker 7: nicked up her knee a little bit. You know, you're
- 26:26Speaker 7: going out there, you're Serena Williams, are creating a lot
- 26:28Speaker 7: of buzz, but you mean.
- 26:30Speaker 6: Come to the press conference, you know, talk to the press.
- 26:33Speaker 6: I thought that was not a great move out of her.
- 26:36Speaker 7: But I hope she's gonna play the doubles. I haven't
- 26:39Speaker 7: heard officially. I think I heard just such. The plan
- 26:42Speaker 7: is for her and Venus to play.
- 26:44Speaker 6: But I haven't heard that officially yet. But I do
- 26:47Speaker 6: think she'll try to play again this summer.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Yes, Patrick, if the only reason she came back was
- 26:52Speaker 1: so her daughter could see how beloved she is, how
- 26:55Speaker 1: great she once was, how great she still is, that's
- 26:58Speaker 1: a pretty damn good reason it Because I found myself,
- 27:01Speaker 1: hitting emotional and having goosebumps during that, you know, yeah
- 27:04Speaker 1: yeah yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 6: By the way, Spain just scored so one nil.
- 27:07Speaker 3: You're trying to get me to do tennis.
- 27:09Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, no, no, no, no no. I think that's a
- 27:12Speaker 6: great reason to come back.
- 27:13Speaker 7: And you know, she's done everything there is to do
- 27:16Speaker 7: right as a tennis player. Yes, so more power to
- 27:19Speaker 7: her to come back and play and to play a
- 27:22Speaker 7: very competitive match.
- 27:23Speaker 6: I mean, I don't care who you are.
- 27:25Speaker 7: Okay to come out there after not having played the
- 27:28Speaker 7: match for four years and walk out on center court
- 27:32Speaker 7: at Wimbledon, okay and play. You know, most players are
- 27:35Speaker 7: going to go and play a couple of tune up tournaments.
- 27:37Speaker 6: Let me see how I feel, Let me see how
- 27:39Speaker 6: I do. Do I get the rust off?
- 27:41Speaker 7: I mean, she played two doubles matches, So that shows
- 27:46Speaker 7: you the heart that she has and what a champion's
- 27:49Speaker 7: that she could go out there and play a darn
- 27:51Speaker 7: good match against a player who.
- 27:54Speaker 6: You know wasn't even born when Serena was winning her
- 27:56Speaker 6: first major. So I think it was awesome. I do
- 28:00Speaker 6: you think that on the women's side.
- 28:02Speaker 7: You know, you've got quite a few American women with
- 28:05Speaker 7: a shot to do well.
- 28:06Speaker 6: Madison keys I did her match today.
- 28:08Speaker 7: Jess Pagoula, Amanda av I did her match also today.
- 28:13Speaker 6: She got to the final last year.
- 28:15Speaker 7: Men, you got Taylor Fritz, you got Francis Tiafu, who
- 28:18Speaker 7: I just finished watching. So we got a lot of
- 28:21Speaker 7: stories on the men's side from an American standpoint that
- 28:24Speaker 7: could possibly make some noise. But the bottom line is
- 28:27Speaker 7: a favorite of the men's side is still Yanick Sinner,
- 28:29Speaker 7: the number one seeds defending champ Alcarez is out of course.
- 28:33Speaker 6: As we all know. So that kind of opens the.
- 28:35Speaker 7: Door for a few other players to think, you know,
- 28:39Speaker 7: maybe I could get to the final this semi final,
- 28:42Speaker 7: like a Fritz, like a Tiafo. But if something happens
- 28:45Speaker 7: to Sinner, like what happened in Paris where the heat
- 28:48Speaker 7: got to him, who knows. So I think it makes
- 28:52Speaker 7: for a little more intrigue about who's going to actually
- 28:55Speaker 7: be holding up the trophy at the end of this
- 28:58Speaker 7: wimble done.
- 28:59Speaker 3: For well done.
- 29:01Speaker 1: If I tell you someone other than Sinner is going
- 29:03Speaker 1: to win Wimbledon, you would tell me who Who's it
- 29:06Speaker 1: gonna be?
- 29:07Speaker 7: Well, Djokovic looked amazing last night against Citzepez.
- 29:10Speaker 6: I mean straight set win for him.
- 29:12Speaker 7: So he's in the same half of the draw as Sinner,
- 29:14Speaker 7: So they're due to me if it happens in the semifinals.
- 29:18Speaker 7: So he's the second favorite at the moment. But the
- 29:20Speaker 7: bottom half of the draw, you've got Alexander Zurerev, who
- 29:23Speaker 7: just won his first major. He looked good today, He's
- 29:26Speaker 7: never been a great grass court player. You've got, you know,
- 29:30Speaker 7: guys like min Chic and that half of the draw,
- 29:32Speaker 7: you've got who made the semis of the French. As
- 29:35Speaker 7: I said, you've got Taylor Fritz, Francis Tafo, Tiafle It's
- 29:38Speaker 7: got to play.
- 29:39Speaker 6: A Bublik next.
- 29:39Speaker 7: So there's there's a bunch of guys in that half
- 29:42Speaker 7: of the draw that are looking at this, guys as
- 29:45Speaker 7: this is an unbelievable opportunity, you know, to make a
- 29:48Speaker 7: major final.
- 29:49Speaker 6: For Taylor Fritz, he's been in a US Open final,
- 29:51Speaker 6: he's been in the Wimbledon semi.
- 29:53Speaker 7: You could certainly make the argument that he tiafo Or,
- 29:59Speaker 7: you know, maybe the two the best grass court plays
- 30:01Speaker 7: you got Demonor or the Australian and there so all
- 30:03Speaker 7: these guys are thinking to themselves, this is my chance.
- 30:07Speaker 7: But if Center's playing at the top of his game, right,
- 30:09Speaker 7: he's a huge favorite.
- 30:11Speaker 6: But here's the thing.
- 30:12Speaker 7: In the first two matches thus far, he has not
- 30:14Speaker 7: been at the top of his game.
- 30:16Speaker 6: He's looked a little rusty.
- 30:17Speaker 7: He's making more mistakes, so that I think gives hope
- 30:20Speaker 7: for the other players.
- 30:21Speaker 6: In the locker room.
- 30:22Speaker 7: That wait a second, even if I'm in the section
- 30:25Speaker 7: of the draw with Center, maybe I've got a shot
- 30:27Speaker 7: because he doesn't look as dominant. It's early only to
- 30:30Speaker 7: the first two rounds for him, as he did last
- 30:32Speaker 7: year at this same juncture of the tournament.
- 30:34Speaker 5: Patrick Wimbledon is a bucket list sporting event for so
- 30:37Speaker 5: many fans. If someone is going for the first time,
- 30:40Speaker 5: what would be your best advice for getting the most
- 30:42Speaker 5: out of the experience?
- 30:43Speaker 3: Question?
- 30:44Speaker 6: Uh, get a.
- 30:45Speaker 7: Ticket, you know, get a ticket to Center. Actually, one
- 30:47Speaker 7: of my best buddies was here and I used to
- 30:49Speaker 7: be able to get tickets like for these events, for
- 30:51Speaker 7: the us O Open, like no problem. Now it's like
- 30:53Speaker 7: impossible really to get tickets for Center Corp for court one.
- 30:58Speaker 7: So I said, you get what you call it grounds, okay, which.
- 31:00Speaker 6: Means you can go in, get in and go all.
- 31:03Speaker 7: The outer court. It's so crowded now, guys at all
- 31:06Speaker 7: the majors. I mean, I know you're talking about the
- 31:08Speaker 7: World Cup and we're like, hey, is tennis getting a
- 31:10Speaker 7: lot of attention in the media at whatever. When you
- 31:14Speaker 7: go on the grounds at Wimbledon, you can't move basically,
- 31:18Speaker 7: same with the Australian this year. Same at the French Open.
- 31:21Speaker 7: It'll be the same at the US Open. So these
- 31:24Speaker 7: events are like bigger than they've ever been from a
- 31:26Speaker 7: spectator standpoint. So what I would tell someone is do
- 31:30Speaker 7: whatever you can do to try to get a center
- 31:32Speaker 7: court ticket. Get there early because the center court matches
- 31:36Speaker 7: you begin normally at one thirty pm.
- 31:38Speaker 6: The outer court start at eleven am. And I was
- 31:42Speaker 6: out there.
- 31:42Speaker 7: I had to scramble to get a ground spass for
- 31:45Speaker 7: my daughter yesterday, one of my daughters. So I go out,
- 31:48Speaker 7: I'd give her the ticket and the lines are like
- 31:51Speaker 7: unbelievable just to get in right. They don't open the
- 31:54Speaker 7: gates literally at ten am. Precisely, this is what you
- 31:58Speaker 7: love about Wimbledon, the tradition, the attention to detail.
- 32:02Speaker 6: Ten am, those beautiful gates open and I sell them. Okay,
- 32:06Speaker 6: now we can go in.
- 32:07Speaker 7: You know, I got my credentials, so I can go
- 32:08Speaker 7: in like the line for people that have credentials. But
- 32:11Speaker 7: I would tell someone if look, this is what I'll say.
- 32:15Speaker 7: My favorite tournament now to go to and attendant is
- 32:17Speaker 7: a tennis versus the Australian Open. But if you're a
- 32:21Speaker 7: tennis fan and you have the chance to go to
- 32:24Speaker 7: one day at one tournament, I would say, go to
- 32:27Speaker 7: Wimbledon because Wimbledon is unique. It's like the Masters of tennis,
- 32:32Speaker 7: the Masters in the golf tournament obviously for tennis, and
- 32:35Speaker 7: the tradition. You know, the history, the beauty, all that,
- 32:39Speaker 7: the beautiful grass courts.
- 32:41Speaker 6: But if you go get there early, get there.
- 32:43Speaker 7: At nine am, if you have a ticket, and get
- 32:46Speaker 7: in and walk the ground, see the outer court. Wimbledon's
- 32:49Speaker 7: still one of the few places in tennis well you
- 32:52Speaker 7: can actually stand by the court and watch a match,
- 32:56Speaker 7: sit on a bench.
- 32:57Speaker 6: They have these old wooden benches. You literally can sit there.
- 33:00Speaker 7: Now, you got to get there early to get to
- 33:02Speaker 7: get those. Do you guys realize you guys may not know.
- 33:05Speaker 7: I'm sure you don't know this. Back in the day,
- 33:08Speaker 7: a part of Center Court was standing room only. Okay,
- 33:13Speaker 7: So you literally there's a whole section of like a
- 33:15Speaker 7: few hundred seats where if you had just a pass
- 33:18Speaker 7: to get in.
- 33:19Speaker 6: You would people would wait all night.
- 33:21Speaker 7: They'd wait in line, and then it would sprint when
- 33:24Speaker 7: the gates opened to get into center court to get
- 33:27Speaker 7: standing room tickets.
- 33:29Speaker 6: And then of course it's the soccer games.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Over the years, they know.
- 33:31Speaker 7: Had issues people getting trampled and so on, so they change.
- 33:34Speaker 6: The laws in England.
- 33:35Speaker 7: This is like thirty forty years ago, but I remember
- 33:38Speaker 7: back in the day when my brother was playing, for example,
- 33:40Speaker 7: against Borg, they were like people standing there and they
- 33:44Speaker 7: would wait all night to get there.
- 33:45Speaker 6: So it's Wimbledon still.
- 33:46Speaker 7: That's a combination of the traditions of what's made in
- 33:50Speaker 7: great but also adapting to the modern age with electronic
- 33:53Speaker 7: line calling, with the beautiful scoreboards you know, et cetera,
- 33:57Speaker 7: et cetera. But they still have that amazing mix. I
- 33:59Speaker 7: think I've never been to the Masters, but that's what
- 34:01Speaker 7: I've heard. They are able to do it with the
- 34:03Speaker 7: Masters as well.
- 34:04Speaker 1: On the way out here, quickly, what did your brother
- 34:06Speaker 1: get you for your sixtieth birthday?
- 34:09Speaker 7: You know he actually showed up because he was calling
- 34:12Speaker 7: this is a This is an epic Johnny Mack. Okay,
- 34:15Speaker 7: he was calling the sits a Pass Djokovic match, which
- 34:19Speaker 7: went late because it went into the night, so it
- 34:21Speaker 7: was like ten ten thirty. My party started like seven thirty,
- 34:25Speaker 7: and you know, we had.
- 34:26Speaker 6: Dinner at eight thirty.
- 34:27Speaker 7: And Johnny Mack he was doing it with Mike Monico
- 34:30Speaker 7: and Andy Roddick.
- 34:31Speaker 6: He's been an amazing addition to our team this year.
- 34:34Speaker 7: And when Djokovic broke for the second time in the
- 34:37Speaker 7: third set, so he was up two sets to love,
- 34:40Speaker 7: only Johnny mackuld.
- 34:42Speaker 6: Say, guys, I'm out of here. I'm leaving.
- 34:45Speaker 7: This is the match wasn't over yet to go to
- 34:47Speaker 7: my brother's party, okay, because I got to be there
- 34:50Speaker 7: for my bro.
- 34:51Speaker 6: It's his sixtieth birthday. Yes, and everybody was.
- 34:53Speaker 7: Everybody was talking about today. When I came into the
- 34:55Speaker 7: green room, They're like, hey, did you hear.
- 34:57Speaker 6: What Johnny Mack. I said, yeah, of course I heard.
- 34:58Speaker 7: He came and showed up and bornedham some of pasta
- 35:01Speaker 7: penne bowlonaise, and he was happy as a clam and shit,
- 35:04Speaker 7: and I gave him a glass of wine and we
- 35:06Speaker 7: were loving life. But that Only Johnny Mack can pull
- 35:09Speaker 7: that kind of stuff off and still come back the
- 35:11Speaker 7: next day.
- 35:12Speaker 6: And say, Hey, john he's our guy. Yeah, he's the man,
- 35:15Speaker 6: but he's my guy.
- 35:15Speaker 3: He's my big broye.
- 35:17Speaker 6: And so he didn't. All he had to do was
- 35:19Speaker 6: be there. I got lots of presidents here from all.
- 35:20Speaker 3: My gift was showing up.
- 35:23Speaker 6: Yeah, he showed up.
- 35:24Speaker 7: And I was happy, and he wrote me an awesome
- 35:26Speaker 7: text and I love him and I love work. In fact,
- 35:30Speaker 7: tomorrow we're doing the Djokovic match on center court together,
- 35:33Speaker 7: so there's another birthday present for me.
- 35:35Speaker 6: They just keep coming, guys.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Yes, it's incredible. He's earned the right to do that.
- 35:39Speaker 1: We love having you here. Hopefully we can have you

- 36:26Speaker 4: by fan Duel, America's number one sportsbook.

- 36:31Speaker 1: Here Taylor twelve minu is going to join us in
- 36:33Speaker 1: about ten minutes. Ice Cube going to join us at
- 36:36Speaker 1: around four twenty five. Taylor twelve minut ice Cube at
- 36:38Speaker 1: Patrick McEnroe, what a collection of guess that is? Huh,
- 36:41Speaker 1: let's think about it?
- 36:42Speaker 3: Is he? What are we thinking about today at the imaging.
- 36:46Speaker 6: You know that segment?
- 36:48Speaker 2: Talk about it Tuesday on Hawkman Crowder in Soleiro this
- 36:51Speaker 2: is like that but bigger, bigger and better better, And
- 36:56Speaker 2: forty eight hours later, this is than cut it.
- 37:00Speaker 6: Thursday.
- 37:02Speaker 4: We got about full sixty seconds to think about this,
- 37:04Speaker 4: all right, America, I know too much. We're heading into
- 37:07Speaker 4: Independence Day okay, and please let's just call it Independence
- 37:11Speaker 4: Day because it is not America's birthday.
- 37:13Speaker 3: This drives me crazy.
- 37:15Speaker 4: Just because you declared independence on July fourth, seventeen seventy
- 37:19Speaker 4: six does not me and you became independent that happened
- 37:22Speaker 4: in September third, seventeen eighty three, after they signed the
- 37:24Speaker 4: Treaty of Paris. This is effectively saying somebody's birthday is
- 37:28Speaker 4: when their parents started trying to have a baby. Okay,
- 37:31Speaker 4: because it could have been in somewhere in between seventeen
- 37:34Speaker 4: seventy six and seventeen eighty three. There were a couple
- 37:36Speaker 4: dicey situations where we might not have even won that
- 37:39Speaker 4: revolutionary war.
- 37:40Speaker 3: But because we claimed it.
- 37:42Speaker 4: On the July fourth, seventeen seventy six, we celebrate that
- 37:44Speaker 4: as our independence.
- 37:46Speaker 3: That does not make sense to me. So the third
- 37:48Speaker 3: of September is the fourth of July.
- 37:50Speaker 4: The third of September is the fourth of July. Yes, huh, do.
- 37:54Speaker 3: We get the day off?
- 37:55Speaker 4: I would hope, so Treaty of Paris Day. Let's call
- 37:58Speaker 4: it Happy Independence Day everyone.
- 38:01Speaker 1: It seems like the only person who was thinking about
- 38:03Speaker 1: it was you, true Taylor Twelveman.

- 38:36Speaker 4: up Bosnia.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Well because the other one was coming and you knew it,
- 38:39Speaker 1: and so you screwed up the easy one.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:41Speaker 4: What's Stew's last name? Stu Holden on the on the broadcast. Yeah,
- 38:44Speaker 4: he absolutely nails hurts the Gavina every time he says it,
- 38:47Speaker 4: so I think he's just showing off when he does it.

- 39:06Speaker 1: why I say that. So let's wrap up the week
- 39:08Speaker 1: the way we always do by updating the polls. Actually
- 39:11Speaker 1: got seven ninety on x Taylor.
- 39:14Speaker 3: What do we have?
- 39:15Speaker 5: Is it jarring to go from Norway to Secaucas New Jersey?
- 39:18Speaker 1: It has to be, I mean it just it's I
- 39:21Speaker 1: would say it's jarring going anywhere from anywhere anyway Caucus?
- 39:25Speaker 3: Yes, I mean secaucas is a dump, dude.
- 39:28Speaker 5: Nine percent of the audience said yes.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I mean, imagine the beauty of Norway, Scandinavia. How nice
- 39:34Speaker 1: it must be there, and then you have to go
- 39:36Speaker 1: to Secaucus.
- 39:38Speaker 4: All the grass is replaced by Asphalton. Yeah, just a
- 39:41Speaker 4: terrible what Turnpike?
- 39:43Speaker 3: Well, and the Jets play close?
- 39:44Speaker 5: Bots go ahead to Hugh Go Gonzalez better be the
- 39:48Speaker 5: next Bob Coosey in Boston.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm starting to think he needs to be up
- 39:51Speaker 3: better than.
- 39:52Speaker 5: Bob, better than h Eighty six percent of the audience said, yes,
- 39:56Speaker 5: he better be Bob Coozy or better.
- 39:59Speaker 3: Got a pressure on that.
- 40:01Speaker 1: There really is an unreasonable amount of pressure on the savior.
- 40:05Speaker 4: You go get Zales, You think Celtics fans are going
- 40:08Speaker 4: to be really nice to a guy named Hugo.
- 40:12Speaker 5: Should Jalen Brunson make it all about him the next
- 40:15Speaker 5: time Timothy Shallowmey wins an award?
- 40:17Speaker 4: Yep, Wow, that's a great question.
- 40:20Speaker 3: Yes, that's a great question. It's like two weeks ago.
- 40:24Speaker 5: I feel like you ever catching up?
- 40:26Speaker 3: Okay.
- 40:27Speaker 5: Ninety four percent of the audience said, yes, he.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Should make at all about him. Alamite, it's not it's
- 40:32Speaker 3: not your championship.
- 40:33Speaker 5: Buddy's a big one for his he here. Did the
- 40:37Speaker 5: Bucks just get a bunch of stuff for you?
- 40:39Speaker 3: Honestly, they did a bunch of stuff. I mean, here's
- 40:45Speaker 3: a bag of stuff.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Give us the honest And somehow the Celtics got less
- 40:48Speaker 5: for Jalen Brown.
- 40:49Speaker 3: It's unbelievable. I still I'll never get over it.
- 40:54Speaker 5: Eighty six percent of the audience said, yes, they just
- 40:56Speaker 5: got a bunch of stuff.
- 40:58Speaker 4: And by the way, I'm so thankful because I said
- 41:01Speaker 4: it on this radio show. Get heimi Hockkes Junior off
- 41:04Speaker 4: my team, and I was nervous that he was going
- 41:06Speaker 4: to still be on my team.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Right all right, Well he was part of the bag
- 41:10Speaker 3: of stuff.
- 41:10Speaker 5: He was, Yes, it was in a twenty eighteen NBA redraft.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Is DeAndre Eaton just a second round flyer undrafted?
- 41:19Speaker 3: Maybe what a draft that was?
- 41:21Speaker 1: He was the number one pick in that draft? Is
- 41:24Speaker 1: he started to do a redraft? Who was number one
- 41:26Speaker 1: in your redraft? Do you remember? I think it was
- 41:28Speaker 1: Shay right, Brudzon was two or three or something like that.
- 41:31Speaker 3: What were the results here? I loved favor? Yeah, well debatable.
- 41:35Speaker 5: Seventy nine percent of the audience said, yes, second round
- 41:38Speaker 5: flyer at best, the number one overall pick.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Crazy, man, Lakers don't know what to do with that guy.
- 41:45Speaker 5: Big one for this this foursome right here? His cookie
- 41:49Speaker 5: cake overrated?
- 41:51Speaker 3: Wow? I love cookie cake, I do.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Fifty five percent of the audience said no, not over rated.
- 42:00Speaker 6: Man.
- 42:01Speaker 4: I think those people don't get enough cookies in their life,
- 42:03Speaker 4: because if the only cookies you get is the cookie cake,
- 42:06Speaker 4: then you're just like, wow, this is amazing. But if
- 42:08Speaker 4: you have actual cookies and you have actual cake, but
- 42:10Speaker 4: you settle for cookie cake, not the same.
- 42:13Speaker 3: We're talking about that giant cookie with frosting.
- 42:16Speaker 1: On it, right, yeah, the chocolate chip cookies yet, right
- 42:19Speaker 1: that you cut little slices. Of course it's not. It's delightful.
- 42:23Speaker 1: How are we divided on this?
- 42:25Speaker 3: I mean, to America, I don't know. He doesn't like
- 42:27Speaker 3: a cookie cake?
- 42:29Speaker 5: Is saying a team will want to play well the
- 42:32Speaker 5: worst gambling advice ever.
- 42:33Speaker 3: So that was.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Gambling advice that uh bored Ricardo gave me. And thankfully
- 42:38Speaker 1: we're done with his fifty shows better than breaking bed.
- 42:42Speaker 1: But that was advice he gave me. I took his
- 42:44Speaker 1: advice and I lost. It's the only.
- 42:46Speaker 3: World Cup bet that I've lost, and it was for
- 42:48Speaker 3: the Germans.
- 42:48Speaker 5: The Germans will want to play well. The Germans lost
- 42:50Speaker 5: to parents.
- 42:52Speaker 4: They're gonna want to play well because they have a
- 42:54Speaker 4: tough next opponent.
- 42:56Speaker 1: They forgot the play well for this opponent.
- 43:00Speaker 5: Under the audience said yes, big one for me.
- 43:03Speaker 3: I took it like it was his five star lock
- 43:05Speaker 3: of the week.
- 43:05Speaker 5: I mean, are the Yankees the worst forty eight and
- 43:10Speaker 5: thirty five team in baseball history?
- 43:13Speaker 6: Sure?
- 43:13Speaker 3: This came back in your favor.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Taylor does not like this Yankee team at all at all,
- 43:18Speaker 1: which is strange.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 43:19Speaker 5: Eighty two percent of the audience said yes, the audience
- 43:24Speaker 5: is right.
- 43:24Speaker 3: That just being nice to you. What else you have to.
- 43:27Speaker 5: Big one for Mikey is man hunting all about just
- 43:31Speaker 5: having a dog in a drone.
- 43:36Speaker 4: I will say having a cute puppy definitely get you
- 43:39Speaker 4: a man.
- 43:41Speaker 3: That had to come back. Like plus ninety.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Eighty nine percent of the audience.
- 43:48Speaker 3: The keda man.
- 43:50Speaker 5: Those are the polls.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Have a great holiday weekend. We God, We'll talk to
- 43:55Speaker 3: you
