Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome to the right time.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We got Dominique Foxworth on right after this. After we
- 0:09Speaker 2: had taped, we got the news that Jalen Hurts is
- 0:12Speaker 2: going to be out this week playing against the Panthers.
- 0:16Speaker 2: That's who they're playing against. We thought they was going
- 0:18Speaker 2: to lose anyway, but he has, Ryan, it's called a
- 0:21Speaker 2: superficial blood clot.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Superficial blood clot in his calf. All right.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I don't really know what that means. I just know, man,
- 0:27Speaker 1: they are cooked, Jack.
- 0:29Speaker 3: They're cooked. Potentially no Jalen Hurts. No Jalen Hurts. Jalen
- 0:33Speaker 3: Hurts is out. Potentially no Devonta Smith and Saquon Barkley
- 0:35Speaker 3: this week.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and Landon Dickerson. Is he back?
- 0:38Speaker 2: I mean, I know he said something about how they
- 0:40Speaker 2: need to go talk to Howie and Nick about his contract.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Lane Johnson on the roster, even though he said
- 0:46Speaker 3: he retired.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Yeah, we got that situation.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Hey, man, along with everybody else being hurt in some
- 0:53Speaker 2: form or fashion with that team. So how funny would
- 0:56Speaker 2: it be if the Eagles won? Like we're saying they're cooked.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Can you imagine how much it would suck to be
- 1:00Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts? Who is that they bring it out? Is
- 1:02Speaker 2: that Tanner McKee?
- 1:03Speaker 3: It is Tanner McKee.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 2: The name Tanner McKee sounds like 13 for 29 for
- 1:11Speaker 2: 111 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions. There's a
- 1:15Speaker 2: classic backup quarterback line. That's what he's got there. They're
- 1:18Speaker 2: having a rough year, man.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I think that's all we got. That's it.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Damn.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Just wanted to make sure you guys knew that we
- 1:26Speaker 1: knew that Jalen Hurts was....
- 1:30Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the right time presented by PrizePix.
- 1:34Speaker 2: My name is Beaumontie Jones. Thanks for listening wherever you
- 1:37Speaker 2: get your podcasts. Thanks for watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like,
- 1:41Speaker 2: rate us, review us, give us five stars. You only
- 1:43Speaker 2: give us four stars. I'm inclined to believe you are
- 1:45Speaker 2: a hater. It is Fox Word Friday somewhere. Dominique Fosworth,
- 1:51Speaker 2: what's going on?
- 1:52Speaker 1: What's up, brother?
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yo, shout out to whoever, I forget who it was
- 1:55Speaker 2: that cooked that one up, but that was a winner.
- 1:57Speaker 1: It's Fosworth Friday somewhere. We get to retain the alliteration
- 2:01Speaker 1: while also being a little clever and cheeky. You know
- 2:04Speaker 1: what I'm saying?
- 2:05Speaker 4: Where is it Friday, though?
- 2:07Speaker 2: That is a great question that I will now ask
- 2:11Speaker 2: the computer.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Where is it Friday?
- 2:13Speaker 4: Because somebody, there is a country somewhere that is still
- 2:17Speaker 4: experiencing this, and it's.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Like, why is he saying it's not Friday?
- 2:20Speaker 2: I will say this, that if I'm not mistaken, at
- 2:22Speaker 2: this moment, it's like 11.30 p.m. in Vietnam, but it
- 2:26Speaker 2: says that right now it is Friday in.
- 2:32Speaker 2: The eastern part of Australia, New Zealand, some of Russia,
- 2:37Speaker 2: and some of them little islands like Fiji.
- 2:41Speaker 1: And when you release this, it'll be Friday more places.
- 2:44Speaker 1: That's right. It'll be Friday more. I think we need
- 2:46Speaker 1: to recommit. Right.
- 2:48Speaker 2: It's Foxworth Friday in Asia. That's what it is. We
- 2:53Speaker 2: got y'all out. Thank you for saving our country. You
- 2:56Speaker 2: know what I'm saying? All you boys over there in Okinawa,
- 3:01Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying? Over there in Korea, making
- 3:04Speaker 2: sure that nobody step too far over the line.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying? Yeah, they holding down that DMZ.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Hold it down.
- 3:11Speaker 1: That's right. That's right. Shout out.
- 3:13Speaker 2: No, I was going to say shout out to somebody
- 3:15Speaker 2: that it don't even really apply to.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Yeah, we got to educate ourselves a little more on
- 3:21Speaker 4: all of that.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I got to be a little closer. Shout out to me,
- 3:23Speaker 1: the cops.
- 3:25Speaker 4: There we go.
- 3:25Speaker 1: There we go. There we go. I was about to
- 3:28Speaker 1: say they all be on soccer, but I'm like, nope, nope, nope, nope.
- 3:31Speaker 1: They met in school. And they met in school. Like,
- 3:33Speaker 1: Japanese could have worked. We'd be over there, too.
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You know?
- 3:36Speaker 2: I mean, after we told them y'all can't have no army,
- 3:39Speaker 2: the least you could do is let them borrow yours.
- 3:42Speaker 4: I mean, I guess when you drop an atomic bomb
- 3:45Speaker 4: on somebody, they got to agree to whatever. Hold on.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Dominique.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Two of them.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Two Atomic Bombs.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I apologize.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Fuck.
- 3:55Speaker 1: That shit's crazy. That really is crazy to look back on.
- 3:59Speaker 1: They were like, whoa, that was crazy. Get the big one. That.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Who.
- 4:09Speaker 1: We got football coming up.
- 4:11Speaker 4: We do.
- 4:11Speaker 1: We do. And we're going to talk about the upcoming football.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But it's a couple of football things that have happened
- 4:16Speaker 2: this week that I want to talk about. And the
- 4:19Speaker 2: first one is one that I haven't seen that many
- 4:22Speaker 2: people talk about on television this week.
- 4:25Speaker 1: And it's kind of a big one.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And it is these documents that got leaked from the
- 4:29Speaker 2: Brian Flores lawsuit. Now.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You and I have talked about this. I say it
- 4:34Speaker 1: on here.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I don't want to say it's complicated for me in
- 4:38Speaker 2: real life, but there is like a bottom line for me,
- 4:41Speaker 2: which is I don't care what they come up with.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I would not hire Brian Flores under any circumstance. However,
- 4:47Speaker 1: somebody would.
- 4:48Speaker 2: One would think in theory he's really, really good at
- 4:51Speaker 2: being the head coach of the defense right now. They
- 4:53Speaker 2: won more games in Miami than anybody would have expected, right?
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's reasonable that somebody, even if he is a big
- 5:01Speaker 2: old jerk, pop up with the allegations of the schism.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And then we got some schism paperwork. And this is
- 5:06Speaker 2: the part that jumped out of this memo.
- 5:08Speaker 1: And it was from a search firm.
- 5:10Speaker 2: The search firm was working for the Raiders as they
- 5:13Speaker 2: were evaluating Flores. Obviously, the Raiders did not hire him
- 5:16Speaker 2: to be their head coach. And this is what it says.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Polished and a good presenter. despite growing up in Brownsville, Brooklyn, parentheses,
- 5:28Speaker 2: same as Mike Tyson. He was able to build a
- 5:31Speaker 2: strong friendship with a billionaire son, which gave him opportunities
- 5:35Speaker 2: to socialize and learn how to build relationships with white-collar
- 5:39Speaker 2: and upper-class individuals. Okay, I have a couple of points
- 5:43Speaker 2: to make on that part. Number one, it is amazing
- 5:48Speaker 2: how phrasing And people trusting you can allow you to
- 5:51Speaker 2: say certain things. Because one of the things that I
- 5:53Speaker 2: absolutely pointed out about Flores when this lawsuit came down,
- 5:56Speaker 2: and this is something you don't really catch until you
- 5:58Speaker 2: live here for a while, which is these boys wind
- 6:01Speaker 2: up going to these private schools. And you never know
- 6:03Speaker 2: what friends they have. You never know what game they
- 6:06Speaker 2: managed to pick up. They know somebody like Brian Flores,
- 6:09Speaker 2: who I think went to poly prep. He knows some people,
- 6:13Speaker 2: and he figured out some things, right? However, this right
- 6:16Speaker 2: here doesn't sound no different than when Danny Ferry said
- 6:19Speaker 2: Luol Deng had a lot of African in him still, right?
- 6:22Speaker 2: Which is to say, these cats was like, hey, hey, hey,
- 6:26Speaker 2: he talk a good game, but don't get it twisted.
- 6:29Speaker 1: He still wanted him.
- 6:32Speaker 2: And that is, why would you write that down? Danny
- 6:36Speaker 2: Ferry didn't even.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Write it down. Somebody was taping him, and he didn't
- 6:39Speaker 1: even know it.
- 6:41Speaker 4: I have... There's so many things that jump out from
- 6:43Speaker 4: this to me. I don't even know where to start,
- 6:46Speaker 4: but obviously... None of this stuff is surprising except for
- 6:52Speaker 4: that they wrote it down. And because like the unique
- 6:56Speaker 4: experience and I know we we have this belief that
- 6:59Speaker 4: anybody can make it to anywhere from in America. And
- 7:04Speaker 4: it's but it's still really rare to jump the socioeconomic
- 7:08Speaker 4: the number of socioeconomic classes.
- 7:10Speaker 1: As I have or have.
- 7:12Speaker 4: Or other like athletes and entertainers and stuff like that.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Like climbing the ladder is not a thing that really happens.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Like you don't, you don't do the Calvin where you,
- 7:21Speaker 4: you first are cooking fries and next thing you know, you,
- 7:24Speaker 4: you own a bunch of franchises.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Like that's not, it happens, but it's not something that
- 7:28Speaker 1: happens regularly. Now I'm washing lettuce. Yeah. I say, was
- 7:34Speaker 1: it Calvin? I think it was Calvin.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Calvin was the McDonald's commercial, but Coming to America, which,
- 7:40Speaker 2: by the way, let you know what happens to the
- 7:42Speaker 2: white dudes, too. I started off on floors just like you.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Now I'm washing lettuce.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I mean, that's a... It happens to white dudes, too,
- 7:52Speaker 1: is a good thing.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Because, like, I... I feel like I have learned so
- 7:57Speaker 4: much about the way things actually work because I believe
- 8:02Speaker 4: I was like naive and the.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Whole hard work, work your way up bootstraps.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Like I wasn't someone who would preach that, but I
- 8:09Speaker 4: was like naive to believe that it was possible because
- 8:12Speaker 4: like my unique experience. And then I got older and
- 8:16Speaker 4: looked around and was like, no matter how hard anybody worked,
- 8:20Speaker 4: they couldn't have done what I did unless they were
- 8:23Speaker 4: bored with some of the things that I had.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:25Speaker 4: And then once I like get out of school or
- 8:29Speaker 4: get out of football and go to business school and
- 8:30Speaker 4: then get out into the professional world, I start to
- 8:33Speaker 4: realize how important relationships are, which prior to that, because
- 8:36Speaker 4: I grew up in football, I'm like the best man.
- 8:39Speaker 1: You just got to be good.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Like, yeah, there's some politics, but if you can run
- 8:42Speaker 4: a full three, they're going to find you and somebody
- 8:43Speaker 4: going to give you a check.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Like, right.
- 8:46Speaker 4: And then you learn about all this other stuff and
- 8:48Speaker 4: then they put it normally.
- 8:50Speaker 1: No one says it explicitly.
- 8:51Speaker 4: But that line is something that a lot of people
- 8:54Speaker 4: live by and think about and care about is like,
- 8:57Speaker 4: all right. Essentially, what they're saying is he wanted them,
- 9:01Speaker 4: but he know how to act right. Yeah. Right.
- 9:03Speaker 1: But I guess.
- 9:03Speaker 2: But actually, is it he's one of them, but he
- 9:07Speaker 2: knows how to act right or he knows how to
- 9:09Speaker 2: act right?
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah. But he's one of them.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 1: I took it as the latter.
- 9:15Speaker 6: Right.
- 9:15Speaker 1: But I guess my point is that stuff always exists.
- 9:18Speaker 1: You don't put it in writing.
- 9:20Speaker 4: And, you know, if you understand, because I feel like
- 9:23Speaker 4: I look back on a lot of conversations I had
- 9:25Speaker 4: in my life and people were speaking a different language
- 9:27Speaker 4: than I understood. If you understand a language, someone will
- 9:30Speaker 4: make it clear to you that he wanted him. but
- 9:34Speaker 4: he know how to act or he know how to
- 9:36Speaker 4: act but he wanted them they'll make it clear to
- 9:38Speaker 4: you it's some other terminology that's not.
- 9:41Speaker 6: As explicit as that they're like even despite being from
- 9:46Speaker 6: brownsville and then the wording like are you saying that
- 9:49Speaker 6: mike tyson is from brownsville or mike tyson know how
- 9:54Speaker 6: to act it's a little confusing.
- 9:57Speaker 2: So i will also make a point that they got
- 10:00Speaker 2: one of the people from the Dolphins and this is
- 10:01Speaker 2: where I think it's going to get the Dolphins in
- 10:03Speaker 2: trouble is the dude that was like he's the worst
- 10:04Speaker 2: hire we ever made or one of the worst hires
- 10:07Speaker 2: that we ever made which I don't think you're allowed
- 10:09Speaker 2: to tell people when they call you about a job
- 10:11Speaker 2: like it doesn't matter if it's true you're just supposed
- 10:13Speaker 2: to be like hey man I don't even know what
- 10:15Speaker 2: to tell you big dog you're not supposed to say
- 10:18Speaker 2: that part I will say though it seemed that did
- 10:22Speaker 2: not seem like they were saying that because he was black.
- 10:24Speaker 2: It sounded like they were saying that because they really
- 10:26Speaker 2: didn't like him. Omar Kelly from Miami Herald, he's been
- 10:29Speaker 2: very clear about this on Twitter. He's like, hey, man,
- 10:32Speaker 2: he doesn't know how to talk to people. That seems
- 10:36Speaker 2: to be his issue is he doesn't know how to
- 10:38Speaker 2: talk to people. But I would like to take a
- 10:40Speaker 2: brief moment to say this about Brownsville, Brooklyn. I don't
- 10:43Speaker 2: know if you have ever looked at the notable people
- 10:45Speaker 2: section for Brownsville, Brooklyn, but there are very few things
- 10:48Speaker 2: that are more entertaining to me Then when you go
- 10:51Speaker 2: to the notable peoples of a place that clearly experience
- 10:55Speaker 2: a measure of white flight, like it's like Aliquippa, Pennsylvania,
- 10:59Speaker 2: where Mike Ditka and Pistol Pete were from. But so
- 11:01Speaker 2: was Darrell Rivas and Sean Gilbert, Tony Dorsett, all those guys.
- 11:05Speaker 2: And you can kind of go through and peep the day.
- 11:08Speaker 2: This is listed in alphabetical order. So I am just
- 11:11Speaker 2: going to just rattle off names to you from Brownsville, Brooklyn,
- 11:15Speaker 2: and let you know. A documentary on Brownsville, Brooklyn might
- 11:19Speaker 2: be totally fascinating. For those of you who don't know,
- 11:21Speaker 2: you may hear a lot about gentrification in Brooklyn. Maybe
- 11:24Speaker 2: they got to Brownsville. I find it highly unlikely. That's
- 11:30Speaker 2: where M.O.P. is from, that is where Mike Tyson's from.
- 11:32Speaker 2: You get to East New York, like you get to
- 11:34Speaker 2: the Eddie Up All-Stars out there.
- 11:36Speaker 1: It's way out there. Here are the people that Brownsville,
- 11:39Speaker 1: Brooklyn has produced, going somewhat in alphabetical order, because I
- 11:43Speaker 1: would not have started this list with Master Ace, but
- 11:46Speaker 1: I guess they think that Ace is Master Ace's last name,
- 11:49Speaker 1: so it starts with Master Ace. Master Ace. Born to roll,
- 11:54Speaker 1: Master Ace, just for those who don't know.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Lyle Alzado. Mayor Eric Adams. Riddick Bowe. Shannon Briggs. Andrew
- 12:07Speaker 2: Dice Clay.
- 12:09Speaker 1: We weren't expecting that one, were you? Five-ish Finkel from
- 12:13Speaker 1: the television show Picket Fences. Brian Flores. John Forte, former,
- 12:22Speaker 1: used to rap with the Fugees.
- 12:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 1: And, you know, did a little time.
- 12:25Speaker 2: But another one of those guys, because if I'm not mistaken,
- 12:28Speaker 2: it was Carly Simon who bailed him out of jail
- 12:30Speaker 2: because he went to prep school with her kids. Told you,
- 12:34Speaker 2: the New York dudes, man, you never know. World Be Free.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Nelson George. Marty Glickman. Arnold Greenberg, the co-founder of Snapple.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Henry Hill. Of Goodfellas fame.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah. Red Holzman. Moe, Curly, and Shemp. But not Larry.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Of the Three Stooges. Zab Judah. Oh, they got a
- 13:03Speaker 1: lot of fighters. Well, that should tell you something. Big
- 13:08Speaker 1: Daddy Kane. This is why they scared Brian Flores.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Big Daddy Kane. Larry King. Meyer Lansky. And yes, we're
- 13:19Speaker 2: only at the L's. M.O.P., O.G.C., Helter Skelter, Willie Randolph,
- 13:28Speaker 2: former second baseman of the Yankees, longtime MLB manager, the RZA,
- 13:35Speaker 2: Al Sharpton, Allie Sherman, Hall of Fame NFL coach, Jimmy
- 13:42Speaker 2: Smits from L.A.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Law at NYPD Blue, Bernadette Stannis. What movie was that?
- 13:48Speaker 1: Pink Cadillac. That's what she was in. A rapper named
- 13:52Speaker 1: Sparky D.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Nice. Mike Tyson. Pearl Washington. Otis Wilson of the 85 Bears.
- 14:00Speaker 2: And last but not least, Howard Zinn.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Note of history. He could have said Brian Flores was
- 14:05Speaker 1: from there. Like, Howard Zinn. They had all these options.
- 14:10Speaker 1: He could have been just like Larry King. That's why
- 14:12Speaker 1: he talks so good. That was the option. Nope. Mike Tyson.
- 14:17Speaker 4: That's bad. Larry is from Philadelphia, by the way, in
- 14:21Speaker 4: case you were wondering.
- 14:22Speaker 6: Oh.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Of the Three Stooges.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Wow.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
- 14:24Speaker 2: That's right, because they dropped Shemp and picked up Larry.
- 14:29Speaker 2: I wonder if Schimpf was bitter about that.
- 14:31Speaker 4: How could you not be? I can't look up and
- 14:36Speaker 4: see that. How big of stars were they back then?
- 14:39Speaker 1: I mean, the fact that we know about them to
- 14:41Speaker 1: this day.
- 14:42Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. It must have been huge. They
- 14:44Speaker 4: were like Miley Cyrus or bigger than that. I was
- 14:47Speaker 4: thinking about Taylor Swift. That's the name that I meant,
- 14:50Speaker 4: but the other one came out. My bad.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 14:52Speaker 1: No, no. This is interesting.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Damn.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Curly died before he turned 50? Yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Shemp died at night. Oh, Curly and Shemp were brothers.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I wonder if Shemp was like, you know, like not
- 15:05Speaker 2: showing up on time.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Of all the surprising places that these shows end up,
- 15:13Speaker 4: Three Stooges? Yes. I was not expecting three Stooges analysis
- 15:17Speaker 4: this morning.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Shemp went solo. He had a contract dispute, and he
- 15:21Speaker 1: went solo. Shemp to Bobby Brown. Under three Stooges. Too
- 15:29Speaker 1: hot to handle, too cold to hold.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:32Speaker 1: You know? The Bobby Brown.
- 15:35Speaker 4: The other thing about the Brian Flores part is I
- 15:39Speaker 4: find myself not as... gung-ho as i used to be
- 15:45Speaker 4: about he black we gotta we gotta look like you
- 15:50Speaker 4: gotta get it done because i feel less good about
- 15:55Speaker 4: people making it that i or individuals reaching some higher
- 16:00Speaker 4: playing than i do about like something more, I don't know,
- 16:05Speaker 4: something more systemic as far as addressing this. I feel
- 16:08Speaker 4: less like I was in Denver when Obama was running.
- 16:12Speaker 4: That felt like something. I was like, oh, we doing,
- 16:14Speaker 4: it felt like we a part of the civil rights movement.
- 16:17Speaker 4: And then you look up and like, nah. Like, That
- 16:21Speaker 4: was tight for Barack.
- 16:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Now, I also want to be clear about something, though,
- 16:25Speaker 2: with Flores that I do think is important.
- 16:27Speaker 1: It does seem clear that they was messing with him. Yeah.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Like there's there's no. And that's the part that matters there.
- 16:37Speaker 2: He's not the only jerk that's out there. There are
- 16:39Speaker 2: other jerks. There are other jerks that get jobs and
- 16:42Speaker 2: very few have demonstrated themselves to be as accomplished as him.
- 16:45Speaker 2: He's the only guy to leave that Belichick nest. And
- 16:49Speaker 2: make something of himself, really. Other than Nick Saban. Who
- 16:53Speaker 2: can you think of from the Patriots time that you
- 16:55Speaker 2: really look at? Does Bill O'Brien count? I guess he
- 16:58Speaker 2: wasn't bad. He was okay.
- 17:01Speaker 4: I think some people will give him Vrabel, even though
- 17:05Speaker 4: he's not technically part of the coaching tree. But he's
- 17:08Speaker 4: really never developed, which makes you want to re-inspect that dynasty.
- 17:13Speaker 4: It's like, how? How would nobody come out of there
- 17:15Speaker 4: and be any good?
- 17:16Speaker 1: Well, maybe, just maybe, Bill Belichick is just that cold.
- 17:20Speaker 2: The other argument, of course, is Tom Brady's just that cold,
- 17:22Speaker 2: but I saw what it was before Brady became Brady.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Belichick might just really be that dude.
- 17:28Speaker 4: I don't mean that to say that we should reinspect
- 17:32Speaker 4: it like being more judgmental. I mean that to say
- 17:35Speaker 4: it might be more interesting because we throw it in
- 17:37Speaker 4: there as a dynasty like the other ones, but all
- 17:40Speaker 4: the other dynasties had like offshoots. Like if you think
- 17:43Speaker 4: of the 49ers and the Cowboys, those, they had coaches
- 17:47Speaker 4: and like the whole NFL, like the Denver Broncos and
- 17:51Speaker 4: the way everyone plays offense today is all like derivative
- 17:56Speaker 4: of like Bill Walsh and Mike Shanahan and like all
- 17:59Speaker 4: that stuff. Like you can find, you can still find
- 18:01Speaker 4: people who reference like the old Cowboys and how they
- 18:04Speaker 4: do things like right down to the, the way you
- 18:06Speaker 4: value draft picks like that. There's nothing like that from Belichick, right?
- 18:11Speaker 1: That is interesting.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Get your quarterback to take a discount? What's the lasting
- 18:15Speaker 4: principle that you got from this? It's like get out
- 18:18Speaker 4: of contracts early maybe?
- 18:19Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Well, I guess part of the problem with your style
- 18:22Speaker 2: is I have no style, is that you have no style,
- 18:24Speaker 2: and so nobody necessarily jumps on and adapts.
- 18:27Speaker 1: But you're right.
- 18:27Speaker 2: There is, and I guess people who are a little
- 18:29Speaker 2: more football nerdy than me, like what's the style? What
- 18:32Speaker 2: is the thing that people look at and say that's
- 18:33Speaker 2: the Bill Belichick impact?
- 18:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 4: I mean, I guess maybe it is just the flexibility
- 18:38Speaker 4: and adaptability that they show. Maybe the fact that there
- 18:40Speaker 4: is no style.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Some shit that can't nobody else do.
- 18:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Like that's that's what it comes down to is. Yeah,
- 18:47Speaker 2: you could try it. You know, speaking of things that
- 18:51Speaker 2: you could try. Cowboys are trying something that everybody seems
- 18:55Speaker 2: to try, at least at some point.
- 18:57Speaker 1: And I'm actually thinking about this.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Dominique, I feel like you may not have ever been
- 19:00Speaker 2: in one of these because you made a point of this.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Dominique is like, I have always been on good teams.
- 19:07Speaker 2: And since he's always been on good teams, that means
- 19:10Speaker 2: that Dominique has never had to attend.
- 19:14Speaker 1: A players only meeting.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Those of you who go back to the right time
- 19:19Speaker 2: from when we was on the radio know me and
- 19:21Speaker 2: Shannon love nothing more than when the word gets out
- 19:25Speaker 2: that it is a players-only meeting. Has the players only
- 19:32Speaker 2: meeting ever fixed the problem? And by the way, it's
- 19:35Speaker 2: the Cowboys defense.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 4: I've been fortunate not to be at a players only
- 19:40Speaker 4: meeting and it is the Cowboys defense. That is the problem.
- 19:43Speaker 4: And last week, the offense didn't show up, but I
- 19:46Speaker 4: think that happens from time to time. You can get
- 19:48Speaker 4: over it, but when it rains, it pulls. like you
- 19:51Speaker 4: mentioned I've never been in one of those like serious
- 19:53Speaker 4: players only meetings about the season I've been in players
- 19:56Speaker 4: only meetings about beef where there was like a locker
- 19:59Speaker 4: room where they're like, let's get together and let's clear
- 20:01Speaker 4: the air. Right. That sort of thing. And it's like
- 20:04Speaker 4: a position only if you have some issue within your position.
- 20:07Speaker 4: So like, that's not something that goes away and their
- 20:09Speaker 4: fights and all that sort of stuff.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Sometimes the players only meeting, but it's.
- 20:14Speaker 4: The problem is it's the, the effort is to address
- 20:18Speaker 4: something in one day that you've had a problem with
- 20:21Speaker 4: for many days now, and it goes all the way
- 20:24Speaker 4: back and you can't really fix it because all that
- 20:26Speaker 4: the players only meeting is about is like, let's recommit,
- 20:29Speaker 4: let's address the culture. Like, don't give up on the season.
- 20:34Speaker 4: We need to be in early and out late. Like,
- 20:36Speaker 4: this is our lives that are on the line here.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Our livelihood that's on the line here. Fuck them coaches.
- 20:41Speaker 4: They're going to work somewhere else. I don't care. They
- 20:44Speaker 4: all got friends. They'll be fine. This is on us.
- 20:46Speaker 4: We don't know what they're doing, what they're not doing,
- 20:48Speaker 4: but we got to get this right. This is all
- 20:50Speaker 4: we care about. You put film out there. This is
- 20:52Speaker 4: the guy.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Like, it's all that stuff. And it's like, you know what?
- 20:56Speaker 1: This is stuff we should have been doing.
- 20:58Speaker 4: It's gotten out of hand. It's a problem now. It's
- 21:00Speaker 4: like a it's a cultural thing.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Which you feel like can't be changed in one night.
- 21:06Speaker 4: But sometimes I think the best move or the outcome
- 21:09Speaker 4: of players only meetings in like hiring a new coach
- 21:13Speaker 4: or firing a coach is like it gives you a
- 21:16Speaker 4: reason to believe. For a second, it's like, oh, now
- 21:20Speaker 4: we got Petten up in here. Things are going to
- 21:21Speaker 4: be better, right? Oh, we traded for Quinn and Williams
- 21:24Speaker 4: last year.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Things are going to be better.
- 21:26Speaker 4: And I think oftentimes things.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Do get better for a week or two.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like the players-only meeting is either the
- 21:34Speaker 2: best news that a coach can get or the worst
- 21:37Speaker 2: news that a coach can get.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Oh, hold on. Let me cut you off right there.
- 21:41Speaker 3: News.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I'm not sure that all players-only meetings– Or not.
- 21:47Speaker 1: It's sent from upstairs.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Yeah. I think sometimes it's like we can't get through
- 21:51Speaker 4: to them. Hey, big dog. It's time to press that button.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. And so that's a great point, right? So
- 22:00Speaker 1: let's look at it.
- 22:03Speaker 2: For purposes of this discussion, we will start with an
- 22:06Speaker 2: assumption that this came from the players themselves.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Okay? Either A, as coach.
- 22:15Speaker 2: You've done what you were supposed to do, and now
- 22:17Speaker 2: they got to be accountable and take care of things,
- 22:20Speaker 2: and you're glad that they are showing that level of responsibility.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Or option B, it is the player saying, what'd he know?
- 22:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And that's the worry that you have because they win
- 22:31Speaker 2: a guy. So the Cowboys have a first-year defensive coordinator
- 22:34Speaker 2: named Christian Parker.
- 22:35Speaker 1: And, you know, to be honest, room for the brother.
- 22:38Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, this is
- 22:41Speaker 1: your chance, you know?
- 22:43Speaker 2: They win a guy, Mike Pettin, who is a very
- 22:46Speaker 2: interesting guy because he had spent two years as the
- 22:49Speaker 2: head coach for the Browns and said, I never want
- 22:51Speaker 2: to do that ever again. Very well-regarded defensive mind. And
- 22:55Speaker 2: they brought him in to help out Christian Parker, which
- 22:57Speaker 2: I think is a cool thing. I don't look at
- 23:01Speaker 2: that as a bad sign for Parker as much as
- 23:03Speaker 2: I think a lot of other people do.
- 23:05Speaker 1: He's new to the gig.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Apparently, if they see that he's struggling in some way,
- 23:08Speaker 2: I'd much rather the team say they're doing something to
- 23:10Speaker 2: support him rather than to just completely bail on him
- 23:14Speaker 2: under these circumstances.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I get that. However, yeah.
- 23:20Speaker 2: They're also saying that they are saying it's your fault.
- 23:24Speaker 2: And the players taking this to players only is saying
- 23:27Speaker 2: maybe he'll be able to help us. But right now
- 23:29Speaker 2: he can't and he ain't.
- 23:31Speaker 4: I think that where I slightly disagree with you is
- 23:35Speaker 4: I get your point. And the problem is for him,
- 23:41Speaker 4: they've determined that this to me suggests we can't start
- 23:45Speaker 4: over right now, but we're going to start over soon.
- 23:49Speaker 4: So like the problem with bringing Mike Patton in is
- 23:53Speaker 4: best case scenario.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Shit solved.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Yep.
- 23:57Speaker 1: And who gets the credit? What are you here for? Right. Why?
- 24:02Speaker 1: Why are we paying you more than we paying him?
- 24:04Speaker 1: Why are you even here?
- 24:06Speaker 4: Right. So like there's he's still in it. And if
- 24:09Speaker 4: shit don't get better, Patton, Patton in a good spot.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Shit don't get better. Well, it's because I wasn't here
- 24:16Speaker 4: during training camp. He was teaching my principles. He just
- 24:20Speaker 4: ain't have me here to make sure. So why don't
- 24:23Speaker 4: you hand that on over to your boy? Like that
- 24:25Speaker 4: to me, that's a bad spot for him to be in.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Remember when the Milwaukee Bucks was asking Doc Rivers for
- 24:30Speaker 2: advice and then fired that coach after like three weeks?
- 24:34Speaker 1: And who did they hire? You're damn right. You're damn right. Well, yeah.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Doc, talk about people who know how to play the game, boy.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yes, he does. Doc Smoove. Yes, he does. Yes, he does.
- 24:48Speaker 2: And honestly, man, once the word gets out that you
- 24:50Speaker 2: know how to play the game, you would think that
- 24:52Speaker 2: people would know.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Not to think that he could play. Nope, still goes.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Still goes. But let me ask you this. What do
- 24:57Speaker 1: you think is the problem that the Cowboys have on defense?
- 24:59Speaker 4: Everything.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Everything?
- 25:02Speaker 4: I would say it's not everything at once, which is
- 25:06Speaker 4: a harder thing to address. It's a bunch of different
- 25:10Speaker 4: things at different times. And that's one of the things
- 25:12Speaker 4: that we underappreciate about football, about how the complexity leads to.
- 25:20Speaker 4: breakdowns right so like you can look pretty bad like
- 25:23Speaker 4: your linebackers could look bad if your defensive tackles are
- 25:27Speaker 4: are being selfish and shooting gaps so make your linebackers
- 25:29Speaker 4: look bad because your d tackles will be in the
- 25:31Speaker 4: backfield but they're not in their gap and they've allowed
- 25:33Speaker 4: the double team to bypass them and get to the
- 25:35Speaker 4: second level Right. So like there's so many things like that,
- 25:38Speaker 4: that you'll see situations where that happens. And then you
- 25:40Speaker 4: see situations where the linebackers get the wrong read. You
- 25:43Speaker 4: can tell that they're supposed to like fill a gap
- 25:46Speaker 4: or spill a block and they choose not to or
- 25:48Speaker 4: they're not choose not to. They like have a brain fart,
- 25:51Speaker 4: but it's not the same thing every time. Then you
- 25:54Speaker 4: see in the secondary, sometimes there's a blown coverage and
- 25:56Speaker 4: sometimes they just get beat. Like that's one of the
- 25:58Speaker 4: problems I think that we don't talk about is like
- 26:01Speaker 4: you're going to lose.
- 26:03Speaker 1: But when you have a.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Reputation and something is hanging over your head, it's a
- 26:06Speaker 4: different feeling when you lose a play. It's like, Oh,
- 26:10Speaker 4: here we go again. But the problem is you're the
- 26:12Speaker 4: rules are designed and you're playing against NFL guys is
- 26:15Speaker 4: that sometimes they're just going to make a play. And
- 26:17Speaker 4: then sometimes you're like, man, we suck at defense. The
- 26:20Speaker 4: problem when you suck at defense is when they make
- 26:22Speaker 4: a play, it begins that psychological avalanche and begins the
- 26:26Speaker 4: writing and the talking and all that stuff that ends
- 26:29Speaker 4: up multiplying all the things. Because even if players say
- 26:32Speaker 4: they don't listen, somebody listened, somebody in that building listen
- 26:36Speaker 4: and they care and it influences the way that you're
- 26:38Speaker 4: treated and the way that you prepare.
- 26:39Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you this brother. I'm glad that
- 26:42Speaker 2: you gave that answer to me of everything. Cause it
- 26:45Speaker 2: reminds me once I was in graduate school, quite honestly,
- 26:50Speaker 2: getting my ass whooped. And I went to my macro
- 26:54Speaker 2: economics professor to ask him a question about the homework
- 27:00Speaker 2: that he had given us. And I mean, I'm going
- 27:04Speaker 2: to be honest with you, man. I ain't really in
- 27:06Speaker 2: the business of diagnosing nobody, but his lack of social
- 27:09Speaker 2: skills probably had a name. I mean, I can't say
- 27:12Speaker 2: that for certain, but he probably had a name. So
- 27:14Speaker 2: I go in there to talk to him. This motherfucker
- 27:16Speaker 2: looking at the computer screen the whole time. He'll never
- 27:18Speaker 2: look at me. I'm trying to talk my way through
- 27:20Speaker 2: whatever it is. And I'm not taking it personally. It's
- 27:22Speaker 2: obvious that this is much bigger than me, right?
- 27:24Speaker 1: Yeah, University of Chicago, PhD, all this stuff, right?
- 27:27Speaker 2: So I'm going through all this, da-da-da, and I explain
- 27:31Speaker 2: to him. And I really did think I was cooking.
- 27:33Speaker 2: And the man said to me, and I.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Quote, well, it seems that you are off on one thing,
- 27:43Speaker 5: and that one thing is everything.
- 27:46Speaker 2: And I remember I stopped, and I took a minute,
- 27:55Speaker 2: a beat, and I looked at him, and I was like,
- 27:58Speaker 2: how's that going to help me do this homework?
- 28:03Speaker 1: What are next steps? Where do we go from here? Not, no, okay, well,
- 28:10Speaker 1: let's start with this one. Nope, it's just like, so
- 28:12Speaker 1: what are you off on? All of it, dawg. Every
- 28:17Speaker 1: single bit of it. so hard to imagine for.
- 28:22Speaker 4: You like obviously that which is humanizing it is great
- 28:26Speaker 4: and all that but it's also intimidating i can't imagine like.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Buddy i don't know buddy i was a long year
- 28:32Speaker 2: man i was drowning man i was drowning on.
- 28:36Speaker 4: I badly want some other explanation like you were heartbroken
- 28:41Speaker 4: or there was some tragedy in your.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Life year two year two was drowning in the heartbreak
- 28:45Speaker 2: year year one the the point was for them to
- 28:49Speaker 2: drown you and heartbreak you.
- 28:51Speaker 1: That was what the whole... I was not alone, right?
- 28:54Speaker 1: We were all in there just like... Oh, my God. Dude,
- 28:58Speaker 1: I remember that year. It was the year that College
- 29:01Speaker 1: Dropout came out.
- 29:03Speaker 2: And I was listening to College Dropout all the way
- 29:06Speaker 2: to school every day to try to get some motivation, man.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Try to get myself to.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Where I needed to be. Shit, man. The man might
- 29:18Speaker 4: not have been all that socially adept.
- 29:21Speaker 1: But he's a hell of an entertainer. Yeah. He milked
- 29:24Speaker 1: that moment. I'm going to tell you this.
- 29:26Speaker 2: That's the first time anybody ever called that man entertaining.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Just so you know. I will say I did pass
- 29:31Speaker 2: that class and pass that qualified exam. I did turn
- 29:35Speaker 2: up on the other side of that, but I couldn't
- 29:36Speaker 2: believe what he said that to me.
- 29:38Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 29:39Speaker 1: This is 23 year old me. Yeah. You know what?
- 29:44Speaker 1: Coming up next, we're going to talk about some actual

- 31:25Speaker 3: and Bo Nix, 199.5 pass yards. Bo, what are you
- 31:29Speaker 3: expecting this Thursday night game?
- 31:30Speaker 1: I'm thinking less on both of those, but quietly might
- 31:34Speaker 1: be leaning on more for Bo.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Nix, just because I think there's a chance that the
- 31:38Speaker 2: Broncos will be behind more in this game, and therefore...
- 31:41Speaker 2: have to throw the ball even if that's not a
- 31:43Speaker 2: great idea.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Did you see his press conference where he was talking
- 31:46Speaker 3: about um you know he doesn't really believe in bad
- 31:50Speaker 3: luck and you know he doesn't believe in bad outcomes
- 31:52Speaker 3: he uh no matter what he seems to believe in
- 31:55Speaker 3: himself yeah you know.
- 31:57Speaker 2: Yeah i bet that's good for him how good that
- 32:00Speaker 2: is for everybody else i don't really have a great
- 32:01Speaker 2: handle um on that part but i don't know why
- 32:04Speaker 2: he doesn't.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Believe in luck his luck is very good he in
- 32:06Speaker 1: the nfl.

- 32:18Speaker 2: Look, if you run a small business, you already know
- 32:21Speaker 2: the problem usually isn't ambition.
- 32:24Speaker 1: It's timing.
- 32:26Speaker 2: You need to replace equipment, stock up on inventory, cover payroll,
- 32:30Speaker 2: take advantage of an opportunity, and somehow the traditional bank
- 32:34Speaker 2: wants you to fill out paperwork like you're applying to
- 32:36Speaker 2: join the CIA. That's where Cardiff comes in. Their application
- 32:40Speaker 2: takes about three minutes. There's no impact on your personal
- 32:43Speaker 2: credit just to apply, and they can provide up to
- 32:47Speaker 2: $ 500, 000 in same-day funding. Approval in minutes. Funding same day.
- 32:52Speaker 2: And this isn't some brand that just showed up yesterday.
- 32:55Speaker 2: Cardiff has funded more than $ 12 billion to small businesses nationwide. Now,
- 33:01Speaker 2: the qualifications are straightforward. You need to have been in
- 33:04Speaker 2: business for at least one year and doing at least
- 33:08Speaker 2: $ 20, 000 per month in revenue. So if your business is
- 33:11Speaker 2: moving and you need capital without all the unnecessary waiting,
- 33:15Speaker 2: check out Cardiff. Go to cardiff.co slash trt. That's cardiff.co
- 33:23Speaker 2: slash trt.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Real growth. Fast funding. Cardiff. Borrow better. All right, we
- 33:31Speaker 1: are back with Dominique Foxworth. Hey, we got a good
- 33:33Speaker 1: Thursday night game.
- 33:34Speaker 2: We can't be certain that we're going to get so
- 33:36Speaker 2: many of those, but we got the Seahawks and we
- 33:39Speaker 2: got the Broncos. And, you know, quite honestly, it wouldn't
- 33:43Speaker 2: be a good idea for either of those teams to
- 33:45Speaker 2: lose that game. Like, I feel like the loser of
- 33:46Speaker 2: this game cannot win their division. They're going to be
- 33:48Speaker 2: playing on the road for the whole playoffs.
- 33:51Speaker 1: And neither of those teams.
- 33:53Speaker 4: It's the funny thing about these teams this year is
- 33:55Speaker 4: it feels like, and I guess it last year was
- 33:57Speaker 4: true too. Whoever gets the buy is going to be
- 34:00Speaker 4: the person who gets the chance to win.
- 34:01Speaker 1: And now that there's only one buy, like it's hugely important.
- 34:04Speaker 4: These early season games that the Rams have been dropping
- 34:07Speaker 4: and that the Seahawks dropped last week and the Broncos
- 34:10Speaker 4: been dropping. Like we're not going to be talking about
- 34:12Speaker 4: them at the end of the year, but those are
- 34:13Speaker 4: going to be the ones I think that end up
- 34:15Speaker 4: deciding who gets that buy and who ends up representing
- 34:19Speaker 4: their conference at the Super Bowl and obviously these are
- 34:21Speaker 4: different conferences but it feels that way because everyone is
- 34:24Speaker 4: so feels so flawed right like all these teams that
- 34:27Speaker 4: we think are great and maybe of course teams change
- 34:30Speaker 4: and they get better but all the teams that we
- 34:32Speaker 4: think have a real chance have like a significant flaw
- 34:35Speaker 4: that is gonna get exposed and when I talk I
- 34:39Speaker 4: forgot what show I was on some show yesterday talking
- 34:41Speaker 4: about how we erase the the like bailout game from
- 34:46Speaker 4: everybody's playoff run. But if you think about every team's
- 34:50Speaker 4: playoff run, the one thing that is their weakness at
- 34:53Speaker 4: some point, they step up and it's normally like a
- 34:56Speaker 4: quarterback who's your strength is going to throw enough interceptions
- 34:59Speaker 4: that you should lose the game, but your defense that
- 35:01Speaker 4: you thought wasn't that good or your special teams get
- 35:03Speaker 4: a great return or you end up getting a bunch
- 35:05Speaker 4: of turnovers. So last year it was Sam Donald can't
- 35:09Speaker 4: cook like that. So we got to hide them one
- 35:11Speaker 4: game against the Rams, Sam Donald with ape shit. And
- 35:14Speaker 4: that's all they needed, right? The rest of the games,
- 35:16Speaker 4: he didn't do nothing. So I see that for these
- 35:18Speaker 4: teams and the team that has one fewer game that
- 35:20Speaker 4: they have to actually like, gamble that that team is
- 35:25Speaker 4: likely gonna make it to the super bowl and that
- 35:27Speaker 4: those games are decide are being decided right now and.
- 35:29Speaker 1: I think even if it doesn't get to the point
- 35:31Speaker 1: of the bye week just winning the division or being
- 35:35Speaker 1: you know playing that home game in the wild card
- 35:37Speaker 1: round or having the home game the next round like
- 35:39Speaker 1: if you get the number two you're gonna get that
- 35:42Speaker 1: the loser of this game is probably going to end
- 35:46Speaker 1: the week three games behind the division leader oh right
- 35:51Speaker 1: um The Chiefs are playing the Chargers. The 49ers are
- 35:55Speaker 1: playing the Commandos. I would assume that both those home
- 36:00Speaker 1: teams who are undefeated are going to win those games.
- 36:03Speaker 4: I'm excited about the 49ers-Commandos game because, sorry, it's just
- 36:06Speaker 4: a little bit of a plug. I'm doing the... simulcast
- 36:10Speaker 4: where we do like the playbook thing so i'll be
- 36:14Speaker 4: on there with brian hoyer i think breaking down the
- 36:16Speaker 4: x's and o's so if you get tired of troy
- 36:19Speaker 4: and joe.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I ain't even know this till right now boy we
- 36:22Speaker 2: done a whole presentation up there for you you know
- 36:24Speaker 2: what i'm.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Saying go go check dominique fosworth out breaking down the
- 36:27Speaker 1: plays with uh with hoyo there.
- 36:30Speaker 4: You go i'm uh i'm particularly excited about that linebacker
- 36:35Speaker 4: sunny styles i think he the second coming of fred Warner.
- 36:39Speaker 4: I've been watching a lot of them lately. We'll be
- 36:42Speaker 4: looking at it. I don't think they're going to beat
- 36:44Speaker 4: the 49ers.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Another conversation.
- 36:47Speaker 2: I made to this point with RJ Young on Wednesday.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Arville Reese and Sonny Styles make me think Ryan Day
- 36:54Speaker 2: is really bad at his job.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Buddy that's the only conclusion i can.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Draw buddy is it him the same thing could be
- 37:01Speaker 4: said of dabble sweeney like these boys that was at
- 37:04Speaker 4: clemson balling out this year in the league all the
- 37:07Speaker 4: rookies balling out it's just yeah they recruiting and coaching
- 37:11Speaker 4: are two different things and ryan day get them boys
- 37:14Speaker 4: in there but reese and styles and then put downs
- 37:17Speaker 4: on top of it How did anybody score?
- 37:19Speaker 1: They did have downs.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Or is the grander indictment not of Ryan Day but
- 37:26Speaker 2: of Matt Patricia? Matt Patricia can't even coach an NFL
- 37:29Speaker 2: defense when they playing in college. He got an NFL
- 37:34Speaker 2: team against a college team. And it still ain't going right.
- 37:39Speaker 4: That's like– It's like Ed Ogeron not winning the title
- 37:44Speaker 4: that one time. Like, he got those type of players
- 37:47Speaker 4: on the defensive side of the ball. Yeah. That's what
- 37:49Speaker 4: it looked like to me.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Hey, shout out to Ed Ogeron, by the way. A
- 37:51Speaker 2: whole lot of people might have found a way to
- 37:53Speaker 2: mess that up. Ed Ogeron did not. In fact, Ed Ogeron,
- 37:56Speaker 2: every day when somebody explained to him what Ryan Day got.
- 37:59Speaker 1: To, he don't. Right? Like, what is he? What's really hood? Like,
- 38:07Speaker 1: what are we talking about? Show me.
- 38:09Speaker 4: He know how to talk to people. That's what it
- 38:12Speaker 4: comes down to. It's right there. It makes people feel
- 38:14Speaker 4: more comfortable. Ed Ogeron is like.
- 38:16Speaker 2: No, the problem is that when things start going wrong
- 38:19Speaker 2: for Ed Ogeron, it confirms your priors.
- 38:22Speaker 1: That's the issue.
- 38:23Speaker 2: That's the issue for Ed Ogeron. Hey, I give Ed
- 38:26Speaker 2: Ogeron credit for this, too. Ed Ogeron got the job
- 38:29Speaker 2: he always wanted. He reached the mountaintop at that job
- 38:32Speaker 2: he always wanted.
- 38:33Speaker 1: It's cool. Ed over there helping Lane out right now.
- 38:36Speaker 1: Ed wasn't about to be going out in the middle
- 38:38Speaker 1: of nowhere. Ed wasn't about to be going to Louisiana Lafayette,
- 38:41Speaker 1: Louisiana Monroe. Nope, nope, nope.
- 38:43Speaker 2: Ed was like, how much money you going to give
- 38:45Speaker 2: me to leave? Where do I sign? I'm going to
- 38:48Speaker 2: just go fishing and eating crawfish and talking unintelligibly.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Ed O figured it out.
- 38:58Speaker 4: But, yeah, you named a bunch of games that were
- 39:01Speaker 4: really interesting. I only stopped down on one in order
- 39:03Speaker 4: to hype myself up. What are the other games that
- 39:06Speaker 4: you want to talk about?
- 39:07Speaker 1: Okay, let me ask you this. Do you think that
- 39:10Speaker 1: there's a chance that the Texans can recover this season?
- 39:19Speaker 1: Not really. Because there shouldn't be, right? Like, they're down 0-4. 0-4.
- 39:23Speaker 1: They won last week. Stroud has been better than he
- 39:27Speaker 1: was when we saw him at the end of last year.
- 39:29Speaker 1: They just went in and... acquired a receiver. Names don't
- 39:32Speaker 1: really matter. That's the details, shmeetails. But I don't know.
- 39:40Speaker 2: I don't feel as great about Jacksonville, the record notwithstanding,
- 39:43Speaker 2: especially after they pulled that one out of their keister
- 39:45Speaker 2: against that depleted, Eagles team that they played against last week.
- 39:51Speaker 2: But if they can get themselves into a wild card situation,
- 39:55Speaker 2: I still feel like it's a defense you don't want
- 39:57Speaker 2: no parts of.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Though they haven't played that well this year.
- 40:01Speaker 4: That's the thing. And looking back at them, you're right.
- 40:04Speaker 4: They haven't played as well as we expected, but I
- 40:05Speaker 4: don't think they're bad. Like there's no reason for me
- 40:08Speaker 4: to believe like they don't need to have a players
- 40:09Speaker 4: only meeting. There's no reason for me to believe that
- 40:12Speaker 4: things don't break a little bit better in their direction
- 40:15Speaker 4: defensively for the rest of the season. That's like a
- 40:17Speaker 4: regression of the mean, the opposite way of how we
- 40:20Speaker 4: normally talk about it. But that's the real thing, too,
- 40:22Speaker 4: because their mean is different from other people's mean. And
- 40:25Speaker 4: right now they've been below it. without like a glaring issue.
- 40:28Speaker 4: And it's not quite clear to me. I think people,
- 40:31Speaker 4: their defense is more straightforward. It's less like complicated as
- 40:34Speaker 4: Brian Flores is, or it appears less complicated as like
- 40:37Speaker 4: Brian Flores' defense is, which there are pros and cons, right,
- 40:40Speaker 4: with everything. So the straightforward defense is one that is
- 40:43Speaker 4: easier to scheme against, but... we can whoop your ass
- 40:46Speaker 4: at just about every position, so we're good there. The
- 40:48Speaker 4: Brian Flores scheme defense is like, yeah, sometimes you can't
- 40:51Speaker 4: rely on a coach to outsmart everybody every week. Sometimes
- 40:55Speaker 4: it's going to catch up to you, and you like
- 40:57Speaker 4: to have that one player or a couple of players
- 41:00Speaker 4: that are just like, the scheme don't matter because I'm
- 41:02Speaker 4: so much better than them.
- 41:03Speaker 1: So they're pros and cons to both, and I think Flores' defense.
- 41:06Speaker 4: will regress to the mean negatively in some ways and
- 41:09Speaker 4: I think the Texans will regress to the mean positively
- 41:12Speaker 4: and get more interceptions and turnovers and stuff that they
- 41:15Speaker 4: created last year but the question is is it too
- 41:17Speaker 4: late Because there were a couple of games that they
- 41:19Speaker 4: had a chance to win earlier in the season, and
- 41:22Speaker 4: they lost them. And they're going to continue to be
- 41:25Speaker 4: those type of games, and they're going to be some
- 41:26Speaker 4: that they deserve to lose. Have they put themselves in
- 41:29Speaker 4: too deep a hole to pull out? Because I don't
- 41:30Speaker 4: think this team can't compete. If we just dropped them
- 41:33Speaker 4: in the playoffs today, I'd feel like they have a
- 41:35Speaker 4: chance to make a run, and most teams wouldn't want
- 41:38Speaker 4: to play them. But given the hole they put themselves in,
- 41:41Speaker 4: the question is, can they play flawlessly the rest of
- 41:43Speaker 4: the season?
- 41:44Speaker 2: We got Dallas Green Bay on Sunday night. There is
- 41:49Speaker 2: a chance that Green Bay will be 4-2 at the
- 41:52Speaker 2: end of this game. That doesn't feel right.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's not.
- 41:58Speaker 2: It's like as bad as they look, any time I
- 42:01Speaker 2: put my eyes on them, as bad as they look,
- 42:04Speaker 2: they come out of this at 4-2, even though they
- 42:07Speaker 2: can't block people.
- 42:09Speaker 4: Yeah, they're in great shape. They are in a division,
- 42:13Speaker 4: luckily for them, where all the teams have enormous flaws.
- 42:18Speaker 4: The Vikings seem like Kyler may address their biggest flaw.
- 42:23Speaker 4: He may not.
- 42:23Speaker 1: It's only maybe. It's only maybe. Yeah.
- 42:26Speaker 4: I mean, the question is, can he play mediocre and
- 42:30Speaker 4: occasionally show a flash of great? That's the question. And
- 42:35Speaker 4: that feels more likely than, like, say, the Bears' defense
- 42:40Speaker 4: or the Lions' defense is going to, like, be consistently good.
- 42:44Speaker 4: So that's the benefit is they could make it into
- 42:47Speaker 4: the playoffs. But one of the problems with some of
- 42:48Speaker 4: these teams, especially teams that have great quarterbacks, like a
- 42:51Speaker 4: really good quarterbacks, like love is when you've been there
- 42:54Speaker 4: for long enough, the expectation is more than just make
- 42:56Speaker 4: the playoffs. And I don't think against good teams, they
- 42:59Speaker 4: are going to play well in the playoffs. So they
- 43:03Speaker 4: might sneak into the playoffs or they might win the
- 43:05Speaker 4: division and not sneak in, just walk right into the playoffs.
- 43:09Speaker 4: And I feel like they aren't good enough up front
- 43:11Speaker 4: or on defense, even when they get, um, micah back
- 43:14Speaker 4: to to beat anybody.
- 43:16Speaker 2: But even with that in mind neither of us is
- 43:18Speaker 2: entertaining the possibility that the cowboys are going to win
- 43:21Speaker 2: that game they're.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Not gonna get you huh.
- 43:26Speaker 4: Yeah. I gave up on them week one when I
- 43:29Speaker 4: saw their defense because.
- 43:32Speaker 1: You bailed immediately because I, you know what it was.
- 43:35Speaker 4: And like, I know we try to pretend like all
- 43:37Speaker 4: of us are unbiased and whatever, but like, nah, I
- 43:40Speaker 4: was hurt emotionally. I spent the off season drinking a Kool-Aid.
- 43:45Speaker 4: Y'all spent the whole off season drafting and trading and
- 43:48Speaker 4: signing and, and hiring. And you told me that your
- 43:51Speaker 4: focus was going to be on defense and, Week one,
- 43:54Speaker 4: week two, I'm going to need you to show me something.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Because that's all we cared about. That's all. You focused
- 44:00Speaker 1: on it all year. And then you was bad. And
- 44:03Speaker 1: so a little of me was just pissed that I
- 44:06Speaker 1: was so dumb.
- 44:08Speaker 4: And I turned out to be right. My emotions led
- 44:10Speaker 4: me to the right answer because them boys ain't serious.
- 44:13Speaker 1: That's right over there.
- 44:14Speaker 2: That's where I am on Kyler Murray. I really put
- 44:17Speaker 2: a lot on the line.
- 44:18Speaker 1: I really did. I stepped out here. It's not looking like.
- 44:21Speaker 2: It's not looking like I made a great decision because
- 44:24Speaker 2: it's not looking like that.
- 44:25Speaker 1: You mentioned Curly earlier being from Philadelphia.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I know he's dead, but that doesn't mean he's not
- 44:33Speaker 2: on the Eagles right now because they got a bunch
- 44:35Speaker 2: of dudes that can't play in the game. They got
- 44:39Speaker 2: a hole too deep full of people that can't play
- 44:42Speaker 2: in the game, and they're going to play against the Panthers. And,
- 44:46Speaker 2: I mean, it's on the board that they could get
- 44:48Speaker 2: rolled at the crib where those people have no appreciation
- 44:53Speaker 2: for context.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Yeah. Their offense is where all the injuries are, the
- 44:58Speaker 4: most significant injuries. This is one of those things where, like,
- 45:03Speaker 4: I would say most of the time that you can't
- 45:05Speaker 4: hit a switch. Apparently Jalen Carter can. So my choice
- 45:10Speaker 4: for whether the Eagles win or lose any game for
- 45:14Speaker 4: the rest of the year is if someone could get
- 45:16Speaker 4: me on the phone with Jalen Carter before the game,
- 45:21Speaker 4: And I'm like, what you thinking?
- 45:22Speaker 1: All pro today or no? Because that's how.
- 45:26Speaker 4: Easy he made it look in the Jacksonville game. And
- 45:29Speaker 4: I know they lost that game, but it was like,
- 45:32Speaker 4: why you ain't been doing this?
- 45:33Speaker 1: Right. Jumped up and be like, who's this guy?
- 45:36Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question about Jalen Carter. And
- 45:39Speaker 2: I want to make sure I look this up properly. Okay.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Jalen Carter was the ninth pick in the 2023 draft.
- 45:47Speaker 2: He went after Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Will Anderson, Anthony Richardson,
- 45:52Speaker 2: Devon Witherspoon, Paris Johnson, Tyree Wilson, B.
- 45:56Speaker 1: John Robinson.
- 45:58Speaker 2: What in the world was in that file? What did
- 46:05Speaker 2: people tell them about this guy? Because I know if
- 46:10Speaker 2: you need a quarterback, you take a quarterback, whatever it is,
- 46:13Speaker 2: but And I know obviously there's the drag racing situation,
- 46:16Speaker 2: but they don't look past way worse than that in
- 46:19Speaker 2: this league for a dude as cold as he is.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Like the Raiders, that boy is a Raider. And they
- 46:25Speaker 2: took the wrong guy. Tyree Wills, that was a terrible decision.
- 46:29Speaker 1: They took a dude from Alaska over a dude from Florida.
- 46:33Speaker 4: At the time, I was confused by it. And I
- 46:39Speaker 4: have fewer connects than I have now. And I was
- 46:43Speaker 4: asking people because I was like, this don't make sense.
- 46:45Speaker 4: And like, to your point, I was like, yeah, that
- 46:47Speaker 4: was bad. But like, that's that hasn't scared people away
- 46:52Speaker 4: from this type of talent. And then you would hear
- 46:54Speaker 4: like the. Yeah, there would be like. nothing was firm
- 47:01Speaker 4: enough for you to, like, feel comfortable talking about. So
- 47:04Speaker 4: people would, like, suggest things about his personality and his
- 47:07Speaker 4: work ethic and stuff like that. And it was like, well,
- 47:10Speaker 4: you ain't going to put your name on it. Like,
- 47:12Speaker 4: I ain't going to be out here repeating this. So
- 47:14Speaker 4: I was the whole time like, why is he sliding?
- 47:16Speaker 4: And I remember saying, like, at nine, the Eagles got
- 47:19Speaker 4: him still at a draft. He's going to dominate this league.
- 47:23Speaker 4: And then he does sometimes and then he doesn't sometimes.
- 47:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you know why? Because it's just a little too
- 47:27Speaker 1: easy for him, dog. Yeah.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Like, why don't you do this all the time? Why
- 47:30Speaker 2: don't you do anything all the time? Why don't you
- 47:32Speaker 2: have the same thing for breakfast every day?
- 47:34Speaker 4: That's a fair point.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Sometimes you just need a little bit of a change.
- 47:37Speaker 2: The thing with him also is I wish I knew
- 47:39Speaker 2: more about him personally because all I got is that
- 47:42Speaker 2: look on his face.
- 47:44Speaker 1: And that's a defensive lineman there, brother.
- 47:51Speaker 2: They put him on offensive line one time and they
- 47:53Speaker 2: were like, he doesn't really seem interested in this.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Nah. He has no interest in pass protection.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Like, I bet he love getting out there pulling, you
- 48:01Speaker 2: know what I'm saying? Like, scoping out DBs, taking them down,
- 48:06Speaker 2: but you're just going to stand around and keep people safe?
- 48:08Speaker 4: Nah, nah, nah.
- 48:09Speaker 1: That's not what my relationship with safety is.
- 48:12Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know if this is true or not,
- 48:16Speaker 4: but this has been my experience. The history, the path
- 48:19Speaker 4: for D linemen, it rarely, especially those type of league-changing
- 48:25Speaker 4: super athlete, like, it rarely involves any O-line.
- 48:30Speaker 1: It normally involves skill positions.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Like you go from.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Running back to D line because you kept growing and
- 48:38Speaker 4: other kids didn't, you go from tight end to D line, right? Like,
- 48:42Speaker 4: and of course in high school, you might play both ways,
- 48:44Speaker 4: but D lineman or D lineman, but they normally come
- 48:48Speaker 4: from somewhere else. They, and sometimes D lineman get moved
- 48:52Speaker 4: over to offensive line. Cause they don't got whatever that,
- 48:55Speaker 4: that nasty streak is, but it's so rare that, I mean,
- 48:59Speaker 4: I guess tackles are athletic enough to probably do it
- 49:01Speaker 4: if they wanted to, but there's the disposition thing and
- 49:04Speaker 4: the height thing. But yeah, they normally come from more
- 49:07Speaker 4: explosive positions. They don't come from... That's a great point.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that is a great point. You don't just
- 49:14Speaker 2: turn them over to the other side.
- 49:16Speaker 4: Sometimes you go the other way. Sometimes you take a
- 49:18Speaker 4: D-line and like... you don't want to kill enough.
- 49:22Speaker 1: I'll be honest with you.
- 49:23Speaker 2: I always wonder like when Nick Saban had our guy
- 49:26Speaker 2: Swagoo go from playing tight end to play a defensive line,
- 49:30Speaker 2: if he ever had any reservations. And we just say
- 49:33Speaker 2: that because Marcus is such a great dude. We all
- 49:36Speaker 2: love him.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 49:39Speaker 4: Um, Yeah. But you know, Marcus.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:45Speaker 2: But he's like, like you said, have to be nice,
- 49:48Speaker 2: have to be kind. I don't think he has to
- 49:49Speaker 2: tell himself those things. I think he does that naturally.
- 49:52Speaker 4: No, I think you're right.
- 49:55Speaker 1: I also think.
- 49:56Speaker 4: That I think it's about the capacity. I think for
- 49:59Speaker 4: some people, the ability to turn it on and turn
- 50:02Speaker 4: it off is something that they have managed to control.
- 50:05Speaker 4: And it's not fake. It's like, this is a part
- 50:07Speaker 4: of me. I think when I talk about D-line and O-line,
- 50:10Speaker 4: and of course, this is generalization. It's not true of everyone.
- 50:13Speaker 4: I think it's more about capacity. And now let me
- 50:16Speaker 4: ask you something. You know him well.
- 50:18Speaker 1: I know him really well.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Do you think he got the capacity?
- 50:23Speaker 1: I wouldn't test it.
- 50:27Speaker 4: I promise you yeah i promise you yeah yeah okay
- 50:32Speaker 4: i don't.
- 50:32Speaker 1: I don't want to i don't want to put my
- 50:34Speaker 1: man in a bad situation let me just tell you
- 50:37Speaker 1: yes yes One of my favorite.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Marcus stories is I was in the office one day,
- 50:44Speaker 2: and I can't remember why, but somebody had left some
- 50:47Speaker 2: glasses on the counter. And somebody asked if those glasses
- 50:50Speaker 2: were mine. And they're like, number one, you've never seen
- 50:51Speaker 2: me with glasses. Number two, them glasses was like yay wide.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Them glasses was like as wide as a television. There
- 50:59Speaker 2: was no question who those glasses belonged to. Those were
- 51:02Speaker 2: Marcus Spears glasses. There was no doubt.
- 51:06Speaker 4: Yep.
- 51:07Speaker 1: And he's the nicest guy. But yeah, I know. He's
- 51:12Speaker 1: still for Baton Rouge. Exactly. Exactly.
- 51:16Speaker 4: And again, he moved from tight end from basketball star.
- 51:20Speaker 4: He was they never put that man at tackle a guard.
- 51:22Speaker 4: You better stop it.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Yo, that's a great point. That's why it's surprising because
- 51:27Speaker 2: he was seen to be to be the guy of, hey,
- 51:29Speaker 2: we move. We just kick you down to play tackle.
- 51:32Speaker 2: That very often happens with like five star tight end
- 51:35Speaker 2: type players. Eric Winston. is an example of a guy
- 51:38Speaker 2: like that, right? You just slide them down and then
- 51:41Speaker 2: they like, it's so crazy to be the Darnell Washington
- 51:43Speaker 2: that never at any point did they say, how would
- 51:45Speaker 2: you like to play tackle? It feels like it would
- 51:47Speaker 2: make a lot more money for him.
- 51:48Speaker 4: I'm still saying that.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I don't understand why he's not a tackle. I don't
- 51:53Speaker 1: get it either. Like, go ahead and whatever diet that
- 51:56Speaker 1: you want, you can get off of it.
- 51:57Speaker 4: You can eat whatever you want to eat now and
- 52:00Speaker 4: make a whole lot more money. I don't get it
- 52:02Speaker 4: because he clearly has that athleticism. Maybe there's something else
- 52:04Speaker 4: there that's not worked on at Washington is the enormous
- 52:07Speaker 4: tight end for the Steelers, who was at Georgia before.
- 52:11Speaker 4: And they'd be saying he 360, but. 260, there's no chance.
- 52:15Speaker 4: I mean, they say 260.
- 52:18Speaker 1: He's 290 at the least.
- 52:20Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 52:20Speaker 1: He would be an incredible tackle. Do you remember Eric Green?
- 52:25Speaker 1: Eric Green used to play tight end for the Steelers
- 52:28Speaker 1: in the early 90s, and he was basically the same
- 52:31Speaker 1: size as Darnell Washington, except he was a better receiver.
- 52:34Speaker 1: He was like 6'5, 280. I wonder what Darnell.
- 52:38Speaker 4: So Darnell Washington may not have the quick twitch because
- 52:41Speaker 4: the way he plays, when the way he blocks DBs
- 52:44Speaker 4: and the way he runs with the ball, he got that...
- 52:47Speaker 4: That demeanor, it seems, that would work on the other
- 52:51Speaker 4: side of the ball, too. But, like, tackle?
- 52:54Speaker 1: Go ahead and slide on down one step and get
- 52:56Speaker 1: that money.
- 52:56Speaker 2: Clearly somebody's thought about this before we had, right? Like,
- 53:00Speaker 2: everything we're talking about here.
- 53:01Speaker 1: It's not like, you know, heard Bomani and Dominique talking
- 53:03Speaker 1: on the show. And I was just wondering, maybe we
- 53:05Speaker 1: need to kick Darnell inside. Just see how it goes.
- 53:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember the draft saying it. And I projected, like,
- 53:14Speaker 4: they're going to slide him down the tackle. I guarantee it.
- 53:16Speaker 1: They have it.
- 53:17Speaker 4: They just like letting him stiff on 190-pound defensive.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Backs for whatever reason. That man out there. He don't
- 53:24Speaker 1: belong in our neighborhood, man. I see you standing up
- 53:26Speaker 1: for the squad. You know what I'm saying? Like, you
- 53:28Speaker 1: ready to call 5-0. We got to get this man
- 53:29Speaker 1: off the streets. He's cheating.
- 53:34Speaker 4: Like, we already have to deal with 250, 260-pound guys. Like,
- 53:39Speaker 4: we're not supposed to have to deal with a 300-pound
- 53:41Speaker 4: guy with the ball in his hands. Yes.
- 53:44Speaker 1: Last thing.
- 53:46Speaker 2: I have been a little bit surprised. I was going
- 53:48Speaker 2: to ask about the Giants, but a little worried about
- 53:51Speaker 2: them another day. I understand that Washington blew that game,
- 53:56Speaker 2: and it was a collective failure in the way that
- 53:58Speaker 2: they blew that game.
- 53:59Speaker 1: At the end.
- 54:00Speaker 2: I have been shocked how long that topic, though, has
- 54:03Speaker 2: persisted in the media.
- 54:09Speaker 1: They get to play the 49ers. Yep. Like, what are
- 54:12Speaker 1: they going to do now?
- 54:14Speaker 4: It's such bad luck, too, is that you got the
- 54:17Speaker 4: standalone isolated game immediately after that topic. So like the
- 54:24Speaker 4: lead up to the game is going to be conversations
- 54:27Speaker 4: about what happened in the previous game.
- 54:28Speaker 1: The 49ers.
- 54:29Speaker 4: I mean, they just beat the Seahawks, the Super Bowl champs.
- 54:32Speaker 4: That's fine. But that ain't interesting. Y'all did something that
- 54:36Speaker 4: ain't never been done before. We're going to be talking
- 54:38Speaker 4: about that. We talked about it till Wednesday, maybe even
- 54:43Speaker 4: a little bit on Thursday this week. Now we're going
- 54:46Speaker 4: to let you we're going to let you off the hook.
- 54:48Speaker 4: Until Monday, after Monday morning, after we're done talking about
- 54:52Speaker 4: the Sunday games, we're talking about y'all all the way
- 54:55Speaker 4: up and through that kickoff of that game, and don't
- 54:58Speaker 4: you dare get into a unique end-of-half or end-of-game situation.
- 55:03Speaker 1: How about just don't have no delay a game, period?
- 55:09Speaker 4: They in such a lose-lose.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 55:12Speaker 2: They in such a lose-lose. Also, throwing this out here,
- 55:16Speaker 2: We talked about the Chiefs playing the Chargers. I believe
- 55:22Speaker 2: that the Chargers have a bye week after this game.
- 55:26Speaker 2: So if they go to 0-6, somebody's got to get fired, right?
- 55:32Speaker 2: Like Mike McDaniel is going to be over there with
- 55:34Speaker 2: y'all at the desk, right?
- 55:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I think he would fit in.
- 55:38Speaker 4: He seemed like he got some things to say. Yeah,
- 55:41Speaker 4: something's going to have to change, man.
- 55:42Speaker 2: By the way, people in our job, I get this,
- 55:44Speaker 2: where they don't feel good about calling for somebody's job.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Getting fired is not the problem with getting fired. Yeah.
- 55:52Speaker 1: It's not about the job. It's about the check.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:58Speaker 1: A job with no check? There's a word for that.
- 56:01Speaker 2: A check with no job?
- 56:03Speaker 1: There's a word for that. Fun employment. Been there. Love it.
- 56:09Speaker 1: That first month after you got your check but you
- 56:11Speaker 1: ain't got to go to work is great. It's when
- 56:13Speaker 1: that check don't come. Now we got a problem. So
- 56:16Speaker 1: I ain't got no shame about this. If they go
- 56:18Speaker 1: to 0-6, somebody's going to lose their job.
- 56:22Speaker 4: I mean, it's definitely not going to be the quarterback.
- 56:25Speaker 1: I assume.
- 56:26Speaker 4: The head coach, they will wait. So it sounds like
- 56:30Speaker 4: you're right. It's going to be Mike.
- 56:34Speaker 1: I'm just saying, somebody has to answer for this. On
- 56:38Speaker 1: some level, someone has to answer. I can't believe how
- 56:42Speaker 1: bad they are.
- 56:44Speaker 4: I don't know how a team with expectations, too. Walking
- 56:48Speaker 4: into the building every week. It's got to be impossible.
- 56:52Speaker 4: It's so demoralizing. I remember what it felt like to
- 56:56Speaker 4: walk in after one loss. It would feel terrible. Maybe
- 56:59Speaker 4: you get used to it. You probably do get used
- 57:01Speaker 4: to it to some extent, but you have some expectations
- 57:04Speaker 4: that you're just going to kick off the year with
- 57:07Speaker 4: six in a row and no answers.
- 57:08Speaker 1: It's not like we're waiting for something to change. They
- 57:11Speaker 1: are currently three games behind their entire division. Everybody has
- 57:19Speaker 1: three more wins than they do including the Raiders. Three
- 57:26Speaker 1: games behind the whole division. And they about to drop
- 57:32Speaker 1: their sixth one. Well, how about this?
- 57:35Speaker 2: It ain't going to get no better, because I don't
- 57:37Speaker 2: know if you've seen the rest of that schedule. Rams, Texans, Ravens, Jets, Patriots, Bucs, Raiders, 49ers, Dolphins, Chiefs, Broncos.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I'm counting a couple of wins there.
- 57:49Speaker 2: And all the teams that we say we think they're
- 57:51Speaker 2: going to beat, they just as sorry as them.
- 57:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 57:54Speaker 1: There's no hope, man.
- 57:56Speaker 4: They'll steal one at some point that we don't expect
- 57:58Speaker 4: them to win. They better hope it's this week. Everybody
- 58:01Speaker 4: playing right now.
- 58:02Speaker 1: This is Super Bowl, man. This is to keep everybody
- 58:04Speaker 1: in the building.
- 58:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:05Speaker 1: I think I'm going to go watch that game with Nick.
- 58:08Speaker 2: The only way that I would call the Chargers winning
- 58:11Speaker 2: that game is it would just be funny.
- 58:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:14Speaker 2: That's the only thing I got. If that happened, it
- 58:17Speaker 2: would be funny to watch, but I would leave halfway
- 58:20Speaker 2: through the fourth quarter. I don't like to be there
- 58:24Speaker 2: when it go real bad.
- 58:27Speaker 1: I just never forget.
- 58:28Speaker 2: I sent Nick's wife a text during the Super Bowl
- 58:31Speaker 2: in February 2021 where the Buccaneers blew the Chiefs' doors off,
- 58:37Speaker 2: and I was like, is he okay?
- 58:39Speaker 1: And the answer I got was no.
- 58:43Speaker 4: That was it. oh you got no more color she
- 58:46Speaker 4: ain't got time for color.
- 58:48Speaker 2: No no no no no i think she was too
- 58:50Speaker 2: busy just trying not to hear that noise damn like
- 58:53Speaker 2: that's a house that's a house full of people that
- 58:55Speaker 2: aren't nearly as into this.
- 58:59Speaker 4: Yeah i mean sometimes i miss the highs of it
- 59:04Speaker 4: don't miss the lows of it Nah, nah.
- 59:06Speaker 1: I ain't going to lie to you, old boy.
- 59:08Speaker 2: I can't tell you enough about how much better I
- 59:10Speaker 2: felt with America's team. The America's team started the game
- 59:13Speaker 2: off real slow against the Cardinals last week.
- 59:15Speaker 1: I was salty.
- 59:16Speaker 2: I was sending people to Bosco. Man, they started putting
- 59:18Speaker 2: up them points. Can I just say it? Can I
- 59:21Speaker 2: just throw it out here? Just saying for right now.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Jared Goff.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Putting up MVP numbers.
- 59:30Speaker 4: Yes.
- 59:31Speaker 2: He's putting up MVP numbers. I know a lot of
- 59:33Speaker 2: y'all out here talking about Brock Purdy. Look what Jerry
- 59:36Speaker 2: Goff got to work with over there.
- 59:38Speaker 1: Jerry Goff, we got to go out here and score
- 59:39Speaker 1: 50 points a game just to have an opportunity. Brock
- 59:41Speaker 1: Purdy ain't got to worry about that. Jerry Goff got
- 59:43Speaker 1: the weight of the world on his shoulders. He throw
- 59:47Speaker 1: the ball to J-Mo. You never know what that boy
- 59:49Speaker 1: might do. He might put that thing on the ground
- 59:52Speaker 1: and try to hump it. We've seen him do it before.
- 59:56Speaker 1: He might go on the sideline and go check his
- 59:58Speaker 1: cow sheet. For all I know, it's on the board.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: Anything can happen.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Did I tell you I had the distinct pleasure of
- 1:00:05Speaker 4: introducing that clip to Randy Moss?
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: No, you did not. Yeah. What did Randy Moss think
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: upon seeing that?
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: He just started cracking up. Because it started because Jamar
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: Chase was doing that celebration and And I was saying
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: what I thought it was, which is what it actually was.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: And other people were saying other things. And then the
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: next week, he got hit with a fine. And I
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: was like, yeah.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: I was like, at least it wasn't as bad as
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: with J-Mo, because I assume everybody remembered that. He was like,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: what did J-Mo do?
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: Like, watch this.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: What was so funny about the J-Mo clip was I
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: forget it. I think it was Laporta that was right
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: there and saw it. It was like, oh, no. He's
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: going to start humping the ground. Like, imagine watching another
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: grown man about to hump something and you have no
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: other choice but to wrap your arms around him. Yeah.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: Like, oh, no.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: Better be than the flow. Hey, man, stakes is high. But, hell,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Dominique Fosworth. Check him out on the Dominique Fosworth Show.
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Available for all five podcasts and given away for free.
