- 1:49Speaker 1: text line, somebody said, did I miss something? Cook dismissed,
- 1:53Speaker 1: not dismissed, but left. You'll hear more from sark coming up.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Not dismissed. That's the first thing folks always go to.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And and Kirk Bowle's questions and was he kicked off
- 2:06Speaker 1: the team? He was not kicked off the team.
- 2:09Speaker 3: In the first report this morning said he was dismissed,
- 2:12Speaker 3: and then it came out that it was mutual. And
- 2:15Speaker 3: then as you alluded to, sarcus, yeah he addresses it.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yep.
- 2:19Speaker 1: So, uh so he's no longer on the football team.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Somebody else, in response to the Jeopardy thing with a cringe.
- 2:26Speaker 1: He questioned. Somebody said, our team is in Jeopardy every Sunday.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I think it. That's a cowboy. Yeah, our team is
- 2:37Speaker 1: in Jeopardy every Sunday.
- 2:39Speaker 3: The report about Dak Prescott with his hamstring come in
- 2:42Speaker 3: partially off the bone. Oh my goodness. And that was
- 2:46Speaker 3: after James Jones said he quit on the team.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah that's not good.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Yeah, stick with a Sean McCoy and on the Fox
- 2:54Speaker 3: Sports TV shows.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's a very reactionary toff and click baitish, uh,
- 3:03Speaker 1: that sort of thing.
- 3:04Speaker 2: He may need surgery, me out for the rest of
- 3:06Speaker 2: the year.
- 3:08Speaker 3: I don't know if I said it on this show.
- 3:10Speaker 3: I told someone that the multitude of shows that you're
- 3:13Speaker 3: on these days, can I said, I told someone that
- 3:18Speaker 3: the way the season is going, he's gonna suffer a
- 3:21Speaker 3: season ending injury just because not because of that's like
- 3:24Speaker 3: karma and destiny all that crap. It's just because of
- 3:26Speaker 3: just the low that Dak Prescott's had to carry on
- 3:29Speaker 3: this offense with no running game or blocking one receiver
- 3:33Speaker 3: that can draw attention, to.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Say nothing of maybe spraining a vocal cord.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Going here we go, that kind of thing, right, And yeah,
- 3:42Speaker 3: and here we are just a hamstring injury and Jerry
- 3:46Speaker 3: Jones is training for Jonathan Mingo, who apparently.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Is a receiver.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Get excited about Jonathan me. I still think he plays
- 3:53Speaker 3: defensive end. I still think that's barkvious, man. I don't
- 3:56Speaker 3: know before we l issue Tiger. Get excited about Jonathan.
- 3:59Speaker 3: He was receiver four and the Panthers, so he'll be
- 4:01Speaker 3: receiver what in the Cowboys receiver four as well? Okay,
- 4:06Speaker 3: but I hope Dak gets gets healthy. I know a
- 4:09Speaker 3: lot of Cowboy fans want to blame him for this season.
- 4:12Speaker 3: It's he's not played great to his standards. But it's
- 4:16Speaker 3: not Dak Prescott's fault. If you watch the Cowboys game,
- 4:19Speaker 3: you'll know that.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I have a very good friend who went to high
- 4:23Speaker 1: school with me in North Carolina. We were in journalism
- 4:26Speaker 1: class together my senior. He was one year younger than
- 4:28Speaker 1: he's a junior. We became very close friends a because
- 4:35Speaker 1: we just serendipitous that he found out that each other
- 4:39Speaker 1: was a diading the old Dodger fan and that we're talking.
- 4:42Speaker 2: This is like nineteen seventy seven.
- 4:44Speaker 1: You know, when him in high school We were both
- 4:47Speaker 1: big Dodger fans and still are to this day.
- 4:51Speaker 2: And and and so.
- 4:56Speaker 1: He went off to Oregon State to go to college,
- 4:59Speaker 1: became an engineer, and we lost contact for a long
- 5:02Speaker 1: time in the pre Facebook era. And then he heard
- 5:06Speaker 1: me randomly out outdrive when he was out driving heard
- 5:08Speaker 1: me calling a game for Westwood. Woman says that the
- 5:11Speaker 1: same guy, and then herd Me would say, Yep, that's him.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And then he was able to get in touch with me,
- 5:15Speaker 1: and I got contact with him, and you know, I
- 5:18Speaker 1: was able to strike up the friendship again. And in
- 5:20Speaker 1: the process he's also become a huge, huge Texas long
- 5:23Speaker 1: worn fan. When we were in high school, he used
- 5:26Speaker 1: to call me big Texts and he said, how can
- 5:28Speaker 1: that be in North Carolina? Because I had this Carolina
- 5:30Speaker 1: blue cowboy hat that I would wear on Fridays a
- 5:33Speaker 1: lot of really, yeah, is.
- 5:34Speaker 2: There any pictures? We say, God know that they do.
- 5:36Speaker 1: It doesn't exist anymore. I bought it it a Carolina
- 5:39Speaker 1: home football game. We need to bring back that tradition, Craig,
- 5:42Speaker 1: big Carolina blue cover with a white n C on
- 5:45Speaker 1: the front, and I'd walk in the journals going to
- 5:47Speaker 1: eat a big text. He would he call it. He
- 5:49Speaker 1: still calls me Big Texas Day. But anyway, he became
- 5:53Speaker 1: a big, long worn fan. He has always been a
- 5:56Speaker 1: Cowboys fan. When we were growing up in North Carolina,
- 5:59Speaker 1: was a Rams fan and he was a Cowboys fan.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So he got to take great pleasure in my pain
- 6:03Speaker 1: with the Cowboys beating the Rams time after time after
- 6:06Speaker 1: time in the playoffs when it mattered most.
- 6:08Speaker 2: The Rams beat him once.
- 6:09Speaker 1: In seventy six, but the Cowboys beat him in seventy three,
- 6:11Speaker 1: seventy five, seventy eight, and so he was able to
- 6:15Speaker 1: take great pleasure in them. But anyway, he now has
- 6:21Speaker 1: gotten into this deal where every year he flies to Austin.
- 6:26Speaker 1: He picks out a weekend when both the Longhorns are
- 6:29Speaker 1: at home and the Cowboys are at home so he
- 6:32Speaker 1: can come to a game and we get together. Oh no,
- 6:35Speaker 1: he has fallen in love with Terry Black's barbecue, so
- 6:37Speaker 1: he may, you know, may spend most of the weekend
- 6:39Speaker 1: over there.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I don't know, but he.
- 6:42Speaker 1: But he is coming into town this week, and he's
- 6:46Speaker 1: come to town on some weekends, like one year he
- 6:49Speaker 1: came in that was the year of the fifty seven
- 6:51Speaker 1: fifty six lost to Kansas Oh boy.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, came in on that. I was ready
- 6:56Speaker 2: to blame him for that one.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yeah, But he came in last year, I think of
- 6:59Speaker 1: the Kansas State weekend. I told him was about ready
- 7:02Speaker 1: to blame him that and say you're never coming.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Back and you're not allowed.
- 7:06Speaker 1: But he's coming in this weekend for the Florida game,
- 7:10Speaker 1: and then he's going to go out and watch see
- 7:12Speaker 1: Cowboys Eagles on Sunday. And I said, at least in
- 7:16Speaker 1: the case of Sunday, man, are you a clutton for
- 7:19Speaker 1: punishment something like that. He's also going to go to
- 7:21Speaker 1: the basketball game of moornite. So it's a fun weekend. Yeah,
- 7:24Speaker 1: it's fun weekend. He's a big sports family, just like
- 7:26Speaker 1: I am. And and like I said, we were all
- 7:29Speaker 1: celebrating Dodger stuff and that sort of stuff. He's a
- 7:32Speaker 1: really good dude. He's lived in Portland almost his entire
- 7:35Speaker 1: adult life after going to school at Oregon State to
- 7:37Speaker 1: become an engineer and that sort of thing.
- 7:40Speaker 3: So I mean, looking at Seki tickets, I mean, it's
- 7:42Speaker 3: cheaper to go to a Texas or it's here to
- 7:44Speaker 3: go to a Cowboys game that is a Texas football Yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 3: and tells you how how sad this Cowboys season is
- 7:51Speaker 3: because when they're rolling, the Cowboys are. It's an expensive ticket. Man,
- 7:55Speaker 3: you're looking at just like one hundred bucks for standing
- 7:57Speaker 3: room only, But you can get one hundred dollars and
- 8:00Speaker 3: get yourself a seat an actual this teame on Sunday.
- 8:02Speaker 3: How about that? Also on the text line behind the
- 8:06Speaker 3: end zone, Craig two fifty. That's insane, Yeah, lowest level?
- 8:10Speaker 2: Hey are you thinking about it?
- 8:11Speaker 3: No?
- 8:12Speaker 2: Act? Okay, there's a zero. We have a we have
- 8:16Speaker 2: a woman's basketball game, Yes we did.
- 8:19Speaker 3: I would rather roches fitz Schaffer's team than whatever they're
- 8:22Speaker 3: in the football field at at and T staty.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Uh huh uh.
- 8:26Speaker 1: And then we have some of the Hilts on the
- 8:28Speaker 1: text line, who, in response to a story about the
- 8:32Speaker 1: band who drake nothing but doctor pepper for a long time,
- 8:35Speaker 1: not even water, said it sounds like doctor Pepper man
- 8:41Speaker 1: had several carbonablers. Yes, see what he did there, carbonablers. Okay,
- 8:48Speaker 1: let's say all right, when we come back, uh more
- 8:52Speaker 1: on Texas, Florida. More from long orange Head coach Steve
- 8:55Speaker 1: Sarkisian as well, when we continue here on this Thursday
- 8:58Speaker 1: afternoon on sports radio AM routine under the zone in
- 9:00Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app
