- 0:00I'm going to give you 3 tips for dating after divorce.
- 0:03What to do to get back in the game, right, Tip one.
- 0:06Hell, I may give you more than three today.
- 0:08Who knows? Tip one that comes to my mind is
- 0:12don't be fearful. That's number one.
- 0:15OK? Because mindset is everything,
- 0:17and if you're afraid, then that's going to translate to
- 0:20absolutely everything you do. And if you're afraid to get on
- 0:25the dating apps or afraid to go out and meet people, it's going
- 0:29to be just obvious in your vibe and energy #2 and this is some
- 0:33good advice I'm going to give you here, have your story set,
- 0:39have some go to answers for when that person is going to ask you
- 0:45questions. Because there are natural dating
- 0:48questions that are going to come up.
- 0:49Like how long have you been divorced?
- 0:51Have you dated much? Do you and the ex get along?
- 0:56What's the custody arrangement? Why did you get divorced?
- 1:00And if you don't want to talk about those things, then have a
- 1:04set answer so that you briefly answer.
- 1:07They don't deserve to know everything they don't deserve.
- 1:10Even if they ask, they don't deserve to know everything until
- 1:12you know if you really, really like them.
- 1:14So if you had a really hard, shitty divorce and you were
- 1:17married to a psycho, you are not going to say that.
- 1:21You're going to say, you're going to say, well, the divorce
- 1:24took a little longer than we'd hoped, but it's done.
- 1:27And we've both moved on, learned a lot during the marriage, grew
- 1:32apart. Those are very easy.
- 1:33Go to things and then and then you have a thing where you're
- 1:37already ready to change the subject.
- 1:38So tell me about you. What's the best restaurant
- 1:41you've been to lately? You know, I mean, just come up
- 1:44with something. So have things at the ready so
- 1:46that you're not caught off guard.
- 1:47All right, hang on. When getting back in the game,
- 1:50you want to make sure that you are picking partners that are
- 1:53appropriate for you. All right?
- 1:56So just remember, if they're fit, they want somebody fit.
- 1:59Usually if they have kids at home.
- 2:01You'd be a better match. If you have kids at home.
- 2:04If you're an empty nester, you want to find an empty nester?
- 2:07Want to find somebody who looks like they're realistic for you,
- 2:13for your lifestyle. You know you don't want to pick
- 2:16anybody that, like, is super inappropriately young or looks
- 2:20like they have a party lifestyle if that is not your lifestyle.
- 2:23So be realistic. Oh, I'm going to give you
- 2:25another one. What the hell?
- 2:27All right? Make sure that you treat dating
- 2:29not like a chore, like it's fun because you get the opportunity
- 2:36to now meet new people. So now your possibilities are
- 2:41endless. So your glass is not half empty,
- 2:44your glass is half full. So when you go out on dates, do
- 2:48not be the sad sack that's down in the dumps.
- 2:51Who wants to date that person? No one.
- 2:53OK, you will always want to, even if you have to plan it
- 2:57ahead of time. Some things that you want to
- 2:59talk about that you find interesting, that you find fun
- 3:02because you got to go on dates and be upbeat, happy, and
- 3:06looking forward to the future. Oh, I just thought about one
- 3:09other one. Hang on, I got one more for you.
- 3:11Last but not least, don't talk about your past.
- 3:15Do not get tricked into being pulled into a rabbit hole of
- 3:19talking about your past, talking about your ex, talking about
- 3:23your past life in the good old days.
- 3:26No, somebody dating you wants to talk about what the two of you
- 3:31might be able to do together in the future.
- 3:33So people want to date people who are optimistic and happy
- 3:38about the future, not stuck on the past.
- 3:41OK, OK, I hope it helps.
