- 0:25Speaker 2: Yeah, correct. No, we're super excited. Yeah.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Is it a first time for you guys on
- 0:29Speaker 1: being a lineup?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Yeah. First time at Big Sound. Yeah. Yeah. We don't
- 0:33Speaker 2: have heaps of experience on the East Coast in general,
- 0:35Speaker 2: to be honest, being from Perth.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 0:38Speaker 2: We made the trip over there last year. So we're
- 0:40Speaker 2: excited to get back over there. Nice.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Well, someone's heard you and liked what they sound. I
- 0:45Speaker 1: heard that.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I'm like the sound that you guys do.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Hopefully.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. No, that's awesome.
- 0:50Speaker 3: So Big Sound is great. And you've been saying to
- 0:52Speaker 3: a lot of bands, it's just such a good platform there.
- 0:54Speaker 3: opportunity to give you guys that um you know space
- 0:57Speaker 3: to be able to showcase what you do and they
- 1:00Speaker 3: say bring it to the east coast and that's a
- 1:01Speaker 3: really good thing i've you know found they're bringing bands
- 1:04Speaker 3: from everywhere like you spoke with one from arnhem land
- 1:06Speaker 3: guys from tassie just before and yourselves you know from
- 1:08Speaker 3: perth and i think um indigo blazer when i'm being
- 1:12Speaker 3: yet to interview from um wa as well so yeah
- 1:16Speaker 3: it's nice it's good to see them all coming together
- 1:18Speaker 3: for yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 2: It's so good i'm super excited yeah i'm sure we'll
- 1:21Speaker 2: make lots of new friends and see lots.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Of great oh yes Yeah, that's a cool thing that
- 1:24Speaker 3: you say, you know, the community that music brings. But yeah,
- 1:27Speaker 3: there's a lot of people, you know, keen to see,
- 1:29Speaker 3: check each other out, which is.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Always really nice.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. It'll be good.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Yeah. So for yourselves, anyone that you're keen to check
- 1:36Speaker 3: out while you're over here?
- 1:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Yeah, there's definitely a few. Yeah. Yeah, you mentioned Indigo before.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Definitely keen to check them out. Somehow I actually haven't
- 1:46Speaker 2: caught them in Perth before, so I'll definitely need to
- 1:48Speaker 2: make a point of going and checking them out. whether
- 1:51Speaker 2: in Brizzy. So I would definitely go check them out.
- 1:54Speaker 2: There's a band called Blue Diner, who I think are
- 1:56Speaker 2: from Brizzy as well.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Yeah, nice, yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 2: That are pretty sick. Definitely want to see them for sure.
- 2:02Speaker 2: They're kind of like a sort of Midwest-y gaze kind
- 2:05Speaker 2: of band.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Yeah, cool, cool.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Should be good, yeah. There's another band called Win Big.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I spoke to them the other day. They're really
- 2:12Speaker 1: cool guys, yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Yeah, dope, hell yeah. Yeah, yeah. So keen to see
- 2:17Speaker 2: them for sure. I really like. their take on the
- 2:20Speaker 2: sort of hardcore genre at the moment. It feels pretty. Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 3: They're a bit punk sort of the hardcore punk kind
- 2:24Speaker 3: of feel from what I was.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I feel like they're doing something a bit different in
- 2:28Speaker 2: that space, which is super exciting. Yeah. Um, and there's, yeah, no,
- 2:32Speaker 2: there's a few others for sure. I could go on
- 2:35Speaker 2: forever about a few of the artists playing there, but
- 2:37Speaker 2: there's so many.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 3: And you've got the two slots that you playing in
- 2:40Speaker 3: Brazil while you're at big sound. Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 2: So Tuesday night where, um, We're playing at, I think, Crowbar,
- 2:47Speaker 2: was it? Oh, nice.
- 2:48Speaker 1: That's a good venue.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yeah, super psyched on that. I think we might be
- 2:51Speaker 2: first on that night from memory. I think we're on, like,
- 2:54Speaker 2: 7 and 15 or something.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Oh, cool, cool.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Which is kind of nice. Yeah, yeah. Get the show
- 2:58Speaker 2: done early and then we can, you know, float around.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Party on. Yeah, yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Maybe have a beer or two, see how we go.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Beer or ten.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that. We'll see what happens. Yeah. And
- 3:09Speaker 2: then Thursday night, I think we've got the closing shift
- 3:12Speaker 2: at Tomcat.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Oh, cool.
- 3:14Speaker 2: It's like a fun little dive bar kind of thing.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It is.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It's yeah. Quintessential dive bar. It's great venue.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I haven't actually looked at too many photos
- 3:23Speaker 2: of each venue yet, but they sound like the kind
- 3:24Speaker 2: of two different ends of the spectrum.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They very much are.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Crowbar is a bit bigger. It's been around for a bit.
- 3:29Speaker 3: It was, yeah, it was, if I believe it's not
- 3:33Speaker 3: the same building, it was definitely right next adjacent. Used
- 3:37Speaker 3: to be the zoo, which was very big in bed.
- 3:38Speaker 3: busy for a long time um i'm pretty sure.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Yeah no it sounds like they're all pretty they're all
- 3:44Speaker 2: within stone throw of each other that sounds.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Yeah the valley is good like that you sneak around
- 3:47Speaker 3: and one's not too far you're saying from the other
- 3:50Speaker 3: and yeah it's good good vibes now it's awesome so
- 3:52Speaker 3: you guys obviously very excited to be coming and doing
- 3:55Speaker 3: that um what else have you got on your roster
- 3:57Speaker 3: for the rest of the year have you got new
- 3:59Speaker 3: music coming out or more.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Gigs yeah sure thing we just dropped a um we
- 4:03Speaker 2: just dropped a seven inch that came out through last
- 4:05Speaker 2: year which is pretty cool nice nice So that one's
- 4:08Speaker 2: just kind of been doing the rounds a little bit,
- 4:10Speaker 2: which is super nice. We've got a couple of shows
- 4:13Speaker 2: over here coming up. We're promoting it for a venue
- 4:16Speaker 2: in Perth. So we're on Big Sound and offered to
- 4:19Speaker 2: put on a bit of a fundraiser for us because
- 4:21Speaker 2: it's pretty expensive to get over to the East Coast
- 4:23Speaker 2: from Perth.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Oh, that's really cool. Yeah. Yes.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah, which is cool. That's awesome. Yeah, we got that
- 4:29Speaker 2: one in like the weekend before we fly. So it's
- 4:31Speaker 2: on August 28th. Yeah, excellent. Yeah, which will be good.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Shout out for that. Yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Is that going to be held? Well, you may as
- 4:38Speaker 3: well let everyone know while you're on the platform.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it's fine. It's at a venue.
- 4:43Speaker 2: It'll be at a venue called Milk Bar. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Somewhere like, I think it's around three, 400 cap rooms.
- 4:49Speaker 1: It's like, yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Local bands and also the touring bands come
- 4:53Speaker 2: through and fill it up.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Nice. Nice. Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and then we've got a couple of headline shows
- 4:58Speaker 2: that we haven't announced yet that will be happening in
- 5:00Speaker 2: Perth after Big Sound. And we're going to do another
- 5:02Speaker 2: one in Albany, which is like on the coast.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I've been to Albany. It's a nice little seaside cold town.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Well, a couple of us are from there originally,
- 5:10Speaker 2: so we kind of want to do a bit of
- 5:12Speaker 2: a– take the band down there. There's a fun little
- 5:14Speaker 2: DIY venue down there that a couple of graphic designers
- 5:16Speaker 2: work out of. And they've built a bit of a
- 5:18Speaker 2: skate park in the warehouse there, and they've built a
- 5:21Speaker 2: little stage. Yeah, cool. Yeah. Super DIY kind of thing.
- 5:23Speaker 2: So excited for that one. It should be pretty special,
- 5:26Speaker 2: but outside of that, no, I think that's, um, we're
- 5:29Speaker 2: pretty busy between those few bits and bobs and trying
- 5:31Speaker 2: to get some new material written and that sort of thing.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Big sounds a bit of, um, logistics going to you
- 5:38Speaker 2: know taking a van over over there.
- 5:39Speaker 3: But so you said you're based in the albany area
- 5:42Speaker 3: are you over in w oh.
- 5:44Speaker 2: We used to be yeah so i grew up down
- 5:46Speaker 2: in albany yeah so you used.
- 5:47Speaker 1: To the three four hour drive to get anywhere yeah
- 5:50Speaker 1: literally yeah i lived.
- 5:52Speaker 3: In mount barker and so albany was the biggest town
- 5:55Speaker 3: and i actually ended up in hospital at albany oh
- 5:58Speaker 3: no way yeah they removed my appendix when i was
- 6:02Speaker 3: on holiday.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Oh okay glad you survived that one but i.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Did i did that was lovely mind you though All
- 6:06Speaker 3: credit to the staff there at the hospital.
- 6:08Speaker 1: But yeah, no, it's a lovely little town.
- 6:10Speaker 3: It's, you know, you've got the, you know, because isn't
- 6:13Speaker 3: it where, is it Albany where the cruise ships come
- 6:16Speaker 3: in or is that?
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Okay, there you go.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty popular on the cruise ship route. Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 2: so every now and then. It's good for the local economy,
- 6:22Speaker 2: like cafe and like bar economy. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 2: But no, it's a super cool little town. Yeah, one
- 6:29Speaker 2: day I definitely plan to land myself back down there.
- 6:32Speaker 2: But yeah, it's like you said, like, It's pretty hard
- 6:36Speaker 2: being in the music scene and being sort of like
- 6:38Speaker 2: four or five-hour drive from the capital city.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Yes.
- 6:41Speaker 3: I spoke with Murtis and they're another band from Big
- 6:44Speaker 3: Ten and they're smack band in the middle of Arnhem
- 6:46Speaker 3: Land in Northern Territory.
- 6:47Speaker 1: So they, again, just to get.
- 6:49Speaker 3: To Darwin, like the closest city is like a flight
- 6:52Speaker 3: near four-hour, six-hour drive.
- 6:53Speaker 1: It's crazy. Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And I think that, dare I say, like, I mean,
- 6:57Speaker 2: we complain over in Perth that it's pretty hard to
- 6:59Speaker 2: get bands coming through. But I feel like I see
- 7:01Speaker 2: Darwin on touring process even less than Perth.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Well, you know, I was saying, and we had a
- 7:06Speaker 3: band from Tassie that I spoke to earlier and I think,
- 7:08Speaker 3: you know, on the, on the scope of things, when
- 7:09Speaker 3: people tour, the people that get left out, obviously, you know, Darwin,
- 7:13Speaker 3: but sometimes it makes the bill, but it's Tassie and Canberra. They,
- 7:17Speaker 3: they really seem, they get jibbed more than you guys
- 7:19Speaker 3: in Radelaide and Perth.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I guess the, I guess promoters perhaps just expect people
- 7:26Speaker 2: to drive to Sydney or Melbourne.
- 7:27Speaker 1: That's it.
- 7:28Speaker 3: I mean, it's timing and logistics and they're not going
- 7:30Speaker 3: to get, you know, the ticket sales, but I love,
- 7:32Speaker 3: you know, there's a few bands that have done it
- 7:33Speaker 3: this year. They've done, you know, like Gurg and Phil
- 7:37Speaker 3: Jamison and even in Spiderbait, they've done like.
- 7:39Speaker 1: The regionals of the regionals, which is just really fucking cool. Yeah.
- 7:42Speaker 1: You're getting out there and putting it out and you're getting,
- 7:46Speaker 1: taking it to the good people.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I think so. I also think that people from those
- 7:49Speaker 2: towns just have like a, not saying that people in
- 7:52Speaker 2: Perth and the capital cities don't appreciate live music, but
- 7:54Speaker 2: when you take it to a smaller town, it's just
- 7:56Speaker 2: like the love just feels like a bit of a
- 7:58Speaker 2: different level. You know what I mean?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Definitely. It's a bit special, isn't it? Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Yeah it's really cool i guess you just got to
- 8:04Speaker 2: have a different um level of passion for it to
- 8:06Speaker 2: keep it you know yeah against so many odds i
- 8:09Speaker 2: guess being in a town or a city.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Well that's it yeah and it becomes a logistics because
- 8:13Speaker 3: you know we live our country's so freaking big you
- 8:16Speaker 3: know you talk to artists you know from states you
- 8:19Speaker 3: know uk europe and everywhere and it's um just blows
- 8:22Speaker 3: their mind to think you know they're um because they're
- 8:25Speaker 3: used to a tour bus but yeah if you bus
- 8:27Speaker 3: it around here it's like no the you tour over
- 8:29Speaker 3: here and you jump on a plane it's like what.
- 8:31Speaker 2: It's yeah yeah it's not super feasible to the same degree.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Mind you it's hard like yourselves you know you're coming
- 8:36Speaker 3: all the way over here big sound and it's you
- 8:38Speaker 3: know larger a lot of the time most you know
- 8:40Speaker 3: people good the people our audiences they don't really may
- 8:43Speaker 3: not realize that you know it's um the cost of
- 8:46Speaker 3: everything that goes into just taking your stuff on the
- 8:49Speaker 3: road other than you know your immediate local area Yeah.
- 8:52Speaker 2: No, you're bang on the money there. It's really easy
- 8:54Speaker 2: to like be disconnected from it. I don't think I
- 8:57Speaker 2: really had an appreciation for it until we started Gloam,
- 9:00Speaker 2: like the bands that would come over and do shows
- 9:02Speaker 2: in Perth from the East Coast that maybe are not
- 9:04Speaker 2: quite big enough to be like sort of, you know,
- 9:06Speaker 2: obviously selling out venues and that sort of thing. I
- 9:08Speaker 2: definitely didn't quite have an appreciation for it, but it's
- 9:11Speaker 2: really given a different value to like ticket purchases in
- 9:15Speaker 2: my mind. Like they really are the sort of kings
- 9:18Speaker 2: of the scene, you know what I mean? Because the
- 9:19Speaker 2: music scene doesn't exist unless people are willing to Absolutely.
- 9:23Speaker 1: And get out. And that's where it started.
- 9:25Speaker 3: You know, we lost that pop culture there for a
- 9:26Speaker 3: reasonable amount of time where a lot of the up
- 9:30Speaker 3: and coming bands, you know, cut their teeth, so to speak.
- 9:32Speaker 3: And when you've got some promoters that are willing to,
- 9:35Speaker 3: you know, fund and put a few bands on, you know,
- 9:38Speaker 3: put shows on so you guys can do that.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It's really, we love that stuff.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Yeah no it is good yeah we really yeah yep
- 9:44Speaker 2: no you're yep being in a band you very quickly
- 9:46Speaker 2: learn who who cares about music for the right reasons
- 9:49Speaker 2: i think and absolutely a lot of good ones out
- 9:51Speaker 2: there which is really nice yeah.
- 9:52Speaker 3: It is it is and it's a passion you know
- 9:54Speaker 3: like some people are fortunate enough to have the funds
- 9:56Speaker 3: to you know to back that passion and and do
- 9:58Speaker 3: that and it's just it's a very selfless act and
- 10:00Speaker 3: they don't do it for the clout or the credit.
- 10:03Speaker 1: That's for sure.
- 10:04Speaker 3: And we love that. We love that for sure. And obviously,
- 10:07Speaker 3: you know, social media, it's love it or not. It's
- 10:10Speaker 3: how you promote yourself and getting out there. And so
- 10:12Speaker 3: how do you find your feedback, you know, being connected
- 10:16Speaker 3: on the other side of the country from probably a
- 10:18Speaker 3: lot of your listing, um, base is that yeah do
- 10:21Speaker 3: you track that is that being.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah for us yeah to be honest i try and
- 10:26Speaker 2: like definitely to some degree yes i try and not
- 10:30Speaker 2: go down the rabbit hole too.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Much yeah you don't want to pay too much mind
- 10:33Speaker 3: to it but obviously it's good to know you know
- 10:35Speaker 3: where it's tracking it's i.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Think so yeah especially being sort of um in the
- 10:41Speaker 2: alternative scene as well it's like i don't really i
- 10:45Speaker 2: I don't think myself, I would say that the rest
- 10:48Speaker 2: of the band feels similarly, want to let sort of
- 10:51Speaker 2: like common social media trends become an influence on our
- 10:56Speaker 2: artistry in the alternative scene so much. It just, it
- 10:58Speaker 2: doesn't feel like it goes hand in hand with our,
- 11:01Speaker 2: with sort of the music we're making perhaps. So just
- 11:04Speaker 2: circling back to your question is, I try not to
- 11:06Speaker 2: pay too much attention to what does well for other
- 11:09Speaker 2: artists and what Yeah, I also think that if you
- 11:12Speaker 2: pay lots of attention to the numbers, you might, you know,
- 11:14Speaker 2: make yourself sick. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, kind of just, yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 2: let the music kind of just exist out there to
- 11:21Speaker 2: some degree and just be happy and proud of it.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I think.
- 11:23Speaker 3: And there is an organic sense to it, even though,
- 11:26Speaker 3: you know, it is like new tech and all that, because,
- 11:28Speaker 3: you know, you can find yourself on a playlist somewhere
- 11:31Speaker 3: or on, you know, coming up on just a random,
- 11:33Speaker 3: and that's just by the algorithm, the evil algorithms we all,
- 11:36Speaker 3: you know, shy away from. But it can be a
- 11:39Speaker 3: way how, you know, you can find that, um, that
- 11:42Speaker 3: little pockets of like, you know, fans, which is always good.
- 11:46Speaker 1: And you do see that happen from time to time.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. We've definitely had that. I definitely, we definitely have,
- 11:51Speaker 2: you know, Spotify algorithms and YouTube and music algorithms to
- 11:54Speaker 2: thank for a lot of, for a lot of what
- 11:57Speaker 2: we've accomplished so far, I think. So I can't talk
- 11:59Speaker 2: a little bit too much.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Even bands have been doing it, you know, for some time.
- 12:03Speaker 3: It's the ones that are still, relevant in doing it
- 12:06Speaker 3: they've adapted to that change and i think yeah that's
- 12:08Speaker 3: probably would be harder than stepping out and that being
- 12:11Speaker 3: how it is i guess yeah you're.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Probably right actually yeah yeah if you had if you'd
- 12:15Speaker 2: done it for a long time and not had to
- 12:17Speaker 2: worry about that and then you all of a sudden
- 12:18Speaker 2: have this whole you know separate part of being an
- 12:20Speaker 2: artist yeah we just put out a like a four
- 12:22Speaker 2: track seven inch record um yeah yeah that's been released
- 12:26Speaker 2: on final through through last ride records which is cool
- 12:29Speaker 2: yeah excellent um Yeah, so that's been really cool. I
- 12:32Speaker 2: think we're all really, really proud of the music we
- 12:35Speaker 2: made this time around.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Yeah, nice.
- 12:37Speaker 2: We kind of like came into the studio a lot
- 12:39Speaker 2: more prepared this time rather than.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Is that even a thing? Has anyone come to the
- 12:44Speaker 1: studio prepared?
- 12:45Speaker 2: Yeah, well, previously we definitely left a lot of room
- 12:49Speaker 2: to experiment with them, who's our producer. And this time
- 12:54Speaker 2: we just kind of wanted to like do the whole
- 12:57Speaker 2: pre-production process together. Once we had it all written more
- 13:02Speaker 2: or less, we did it a little bit differently. We
- 13:04Speaker 2: have like an in-ear monitoring rig now that we use live.
- 13:06Speaker 2: So we're able to use that to sort of isolate
- 13:09Speaker 2: guitars and drums in the studio, not the jam room,
- 13:13Speaker 2: the studio. And we were able to like record what
- 13:17Speaker 2: felt like, we were able to record drums isolated whilst
- 13:22Speaker 2: we were all in the room playing together. So for George,
- 13:25Speaker 2: who's our drummer, Um, we find that he's found that
- 13:29Speaker 2: he plays a lot, a lot better and gets better
- 13:32Speaker 2: takes when it just feels like we're jamming rather than just,
- 13:35Speaker 2: you know, and going through and, you know, so yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 2: So we're able to capture drums in a bit of
- 13:41Speaker 2: a unique way this time. Definitely the chemistry kind of
- 13:43Speaker 2: goes out the window with your bandmates to some degree,
- 13:46Speaker 2: I think. And, um, No, I like to think that
- 13:48Speaker 2: it shows in the end product as well. But yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 2: definitely safe to say we all enjoyed the process of
- 13:53Speaker 2: recording a lot more this time around. Yeah, for sure.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Yeah, and it sounds like you guys have got all
- 13:57Speaker 3: that happening for yourselves, which is good. You know, you've
- 13:59Speaker 3: got to be able to make those networks and connections
- 14:03Speaker 3: and to do that. So obviously it shows for the
- 14:05Speaker 3: rest of the year and next year. What's your calendar
- 14:08Speaker 3: look like?
- 14:09Speaker 2: Yeah, so I haven't thought heaps about next year. I've
- 14:12Speaker 2: got a couple of things we want to do, but
- 14:14Speaker 2: nothing super locked. But I think, yeah, getting to sitting
- 14:18Speaker 2: down and work on some new music is definitely at
- 14:21Speaker 2: the top of the agenda. You know, we've just kind
- 14:22Speaker 2: of like got a bit of the new music's out
- 14:25Speaker 2: and done a few bits and bobs around that. Obviously
- 14:28Speaker 2: get a big sound out of the way. And then, yeah,
- 14:30Speaker 2: when we come home, I think we'll try and get
- 14:32Speaker 2: in a room and think about what we want our
- 14:35Speaker 2: new stuff to sound like for sure.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Yeah, awesome.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 14:38Speaker 2: No, it should be good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Excited about it.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and doing shows like that, you know, gives you
- 14:43Speaker 3: that inspiration to come back and make some new music
- 14:45Speaker 3: and some new, yeah, new ideas, I guess, from getting
- 14:49Speaker 3: out and around and meeting others and seeing other people
- 14:52Speaker 3: doing things. It's always, I think, from talking to most bands,
- 14:55Speaker 3: they're keen to get into it after they do the
- 14:58Speaker 3: Big Sound Week.
- 14:58Speaker 1: And get out of the way.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 15:01Speaker 3: But, like, getting, yeah, that drive and inspiration to just
- 15:04Speaker 3: keep going and doing what they do.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, definitely. I think we're, we're very excited. The
- 15:09Speaker 2: prospect of maybe making some connections with some, some promoters
- 15:13Speaker 2: and booking agents to entice some more shows coming through.
- 15:17Speaker 2: It's quite hard to facilitate yourself when you're, you know,
- 15:20Speaker 2: locked into the other side of the country and getting
- 15:22Speaker 2: over there to play some shows, get on people's radars.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely.
- 15:26Speaker 2: So having a, you know, someone to vouch for us,
- 15:29Speaker 2: it's already, but even if it doesn't, we'll just keep
- 15:31Speaker 2: doing our thing. And if something winds up in the future, then.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I think you guys have got the right attitude.
- 15:35Speaker 3: You know, you've, You've got the goods, you've got the sound,
- 15:37Speaker 3: and then if you meet the right people and the
- 15:40Speaker 3: music gods make things happen, you leave it up to
- 15:43Speaker 3: them and just, yeah.
- 15:44Speaker 1: It's always exciting. That's good.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Well, congratulations on obviously ending up on the Big Sound Bill,
- 15:50Speaker 3: which will be good.
- 15:50Speaker 1: You're staying for the week, are you?
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. So we fly in the day before Big
- 15:55Speaker 2: Sound kicks off, and then we're flying out on the 5th.
- 15:58Speaker 2: So I think, yeah, I can't remember what that looks
- 16:01Speaker 2: like on the week of.
- 16:02Speaker 1: I love it. It's the good stuff. It's the good
- 16:04Speaker 1: shit that we embrace here at Heavy.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Yeah, so you'll be in the valley yourself.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm hoping to get there, yeah, definitely, and catch
- 16:10Speaker 3: you guys for sure.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 3: It's all one big happy family, even behind the scenes,
- 16:14Speaker 3: which is one cool thing about music.
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm getting that vibe, yeah, especially around big sounds.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It's been real nice, yeah. Yeah, that's how it is
- 16:22Speaker 1: on the larger scale, which is really cool.
- 16:24Speaker 3: So dive in and enjoy, and we embrace you with
- 16:27Speaker 3: our big, long music metal arms.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Yeah, sick, and I love it, hell yeah. Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 1: For sure.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Well, thank you so much for having a chat with
- 16:34Speaker 3: us today, Rowan, and all the best. And we look
- 16:37Speaker 3: forward to seeing you.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I'm excited.
- 16:38Speaker 2: We'll see you there.
- 16:39Speaker 1: You will. Take care. Thanks, Rowan.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Bye.
