Transcript
- 0:01Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 343.
- 0:04Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister and Dayna Roselli here, and man have we had a packed week.
- 0:10Sean McAllister: Uh we stopped at the new honky tonk on the strip, category 10.
- 0:14Sean McAllister: We were at the opening of the new magic show.
- 0:17Sean McAllister: Now you see me live over at MGM Grand as well.
- 0:21Dayna Roselli: I know, and we also went to the Bills Raiders game, but not at the stadium, right next door, and we're gonna tell you about the bar that we visited and our experience.
- 0:30Dayna Roselli: Plus, Keith Urban attends Metallica.
- 0:33Dayna Roselli: We have some insider details there.
- 0:35Dayna Roselli: And Donnie Wahlberg's plane?
- 0:37Dayna Roselli: Well, that caused quite a commotion at the Las Vegas airport.
- 0:42Dayna Roselli: All that coming up.
- 0:43Sean McAllister: But first, we also went over to Carrot Top's first show back at his theater over at the Luxor.
- 0:52Sean McAllister: He had been uh away from his show for a month after uh dealing with some uh personal issues, and he came back on stage, and man, that theater was packed.
- 1:05Dayna Roselli: Packed, completely sold out, and you and I bought tickets as soon as we heard he was coming back for October 19th.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: And then I think I checked a few days later and noticed all the seats were taken, so it sold out quick.
- 1:15Dayna Roselli: The support, the standing ovations.
- 1:18Dayna Roselli: It was a great night at the Luxor, and Carrot Top is back in action and his show and is back in Las Vegas.
- 1:25Dayna Roselli: And you know, Sean, what I learned last night, I've seen Carrot Top so many times, one of my favorite comedians.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: I think he is so good.
- 1:32Dayna Roselli: I don't even think I realized he was 10 years at the MGM Grand.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: So, really, like being 20 years at the Luxor, 10 at MGM Grand, and I know he popped in for shows before that.
- 1:42Dayna Roselli: I mean, he has been in Las Vegas performing successfully for 30 years, and so he has just proven that his act as a prop comedian is a Vegas show and it's successful.
- 1:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh there are not many people who can tout a 30-year headlining career in Las Vegas, and I think the support in that uh auditorium in that theater was evidence of his success in Las Vegas over the years.
- 2:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, agree.
- 2:16Dayna Roselli: And you know, it's such a story.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: We didn't talk much about it when it first came out about you know that Caratop was suicidal, but I think it's good to point out seeing him on stage, his mother there in the audience, these people behind him, he addressed it in a funny way, but also in a thankful way.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: Um, it does prove that, you know, you can get through something.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: And I hope that that gives other people hope if they're feeling that way.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: Um, that it took him coming out of it, uh hospital stay, family members, fans, friends, fellow comedians surrounding him with love to get him back on that stage pretty quickly, about a little less than two months, right?
- 3:01Dayna Roselli: A monthish away.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: Um and it was so it was very inspiring.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: And I think this, I think he's on, he's on a good path.
- 3:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think so and hope so.
- 3:10Sean McAllister: Um, we do have more uh of our reflections on his first show back.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: But first, uh why don't you hear from Carrot Top himself on his return to the stage?
- 3:25Carrot Top: I feel that I'm very emotional.
- 3:28Carrot Top: So um it's been a rough month trying to figure out what is appropriate for a night like tonight.
- 3:33Carrot Top: I love that the people in the front row were the first ones to get tickets.
- 3:36Carrot Top: They're the ones that carried the most right here.
- 3:39Carrot Top: We got time.
- 3:50Carrot Top: We got tickets, we got time.
- 3:52Carrot Top: People in the back of the row are like, what happened?
- 3:57Carrot Top: Some people don't know.
- 3:59Carrot Top: People in Nebraska have no idea what I got.
- 4:01Carrot Top: But it's weird, people are like, what's the joke?
- 4:04Carrot Top: What do you pull out of your trunk?
- 4:05Carrot Top: What is appropriate?
- 4:06Carrot Top: What's not appropriate?
- 4:07Carrot Top: Yeah, so he came out in the audience, did some, you know, shaking hands, this and that, made his way up, and then did that bit, you know, some of the clips that we recorded.
- 4:16Carrot Top: You know, we put our phones down because we really wanted to be in the moment, but we wanted to cover it as well.
- 4:21Carrot Top: And so um, getting lots of response from the clips we posted on social media, and people seem so elated that he's back.
- 4:28Carrot Top: Um and we just really were too.
- 4:32Carrot Top: I mean, I don't know, that was that was an amazing show to be at.
- 4:35Sean McAllister: It it really was.
- 4:36Sean McAllister: And uh, you know, uh Carrot Top, he made several references to his situation throughout the show.
- 4:44Sean McAllister: And even at one point talked about how um how his faith has been kind of reignited in the in the aftermath, right?
- 4:54Sean McAllister: And and how he views things moving forward.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: Because I mean he always would go to church on Sunday anyway.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: He started posting about that a lot on his social media, but I think now, you know, it's even stronger.
- 5:05Dayna Roselli: And he said, you know, however you feel, everyone has their own thing, but whether you're religious, you're not religious.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: This is what this is what has worked for me.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: And um, it just yeah, it was it was such a great combination of a little bit of everything, but he stayed funny.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: I think we kind of thought he would a little bit that he would kind of make fun of it.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: It not fun of it, it was like humili, like he fun of himself.
- 5:28Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:29Dayna Roselli: Do you know what I mean?
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: Like, not the situation, but um, he addressed there was a big elephant in the room, and a big projection came up, and it was an elephant with uh with red hair, with a his signature orange wig, yeah.
- 5:42Dayna Roselli: I mean, he is great, and you can see from the comments for people who have seen him, like I went once and then I ended up going nine times.
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: I mean, he is just worth the visit.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: Can't recommend him enough.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: Great guy.
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: We are so happy.
- 5:55Dayna Roselli: Scott Thompson, aka Carrot Top, is back performing in Las Vegas.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: Go support him, go to a show.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: We guarantee you will laugh the entire time and leave happy.
- 6:05Sean McAllister: Without a doubt.
- 6:06Sean McAllister: We've been fortunate to know Scott for years here in Las Vegas and and really do wish him absolutely the very best.
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: That's for sure.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: Uh, we did go over to category 10 on the strip, and this is a new honky talk.
- 6:21Dayna Roselli: We told you about it.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: Uh three floors, actually, and it's um well, has Luke Combs' name behind it.
- 6:27Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: So anyway, Sean, I'm a Luke Combs fan now because I didn't listen to I don't listen to much country music.
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: Not that I don't like it.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: I just it's not in my regular rotation.
- 6:37Dayna Roselli: And so I'm like, all right, let me see what the deal is with Luke Combs.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: And now I'm obsessed.
- 6:41Sean McAllister: I know it's such good music.
- 6:44Sean McAllister: I was kind of the same way.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: I didn't have Luke in my regular rotation.
- 6:50Sean McAllister: And on the way over to uh category 10, I was like, you know what?
- 6:55Sean McAllister: I'm gonna put this on.
- 6:56Sean McAllister: I'm gonna dial up my Spotify, get Luke Combs playing, just to get in the mood.
- 7:01Sean McAllister: Be like, all right, we're going to category 10.
- 7:03Sean McAllister: I need to uh feel this vibe.
- 7:05Sean McAllister: And it is Luke Combs has great music, it's good, and I know in you can sing the words.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: I like that.
- 7:14Sean McAllister: Uh-huh.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: I'm like going right along with it.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: You know what?
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: I can understand what he's saying.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: I like it.
- 7:18Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, that was a sidebar.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: But the the honky talk's great.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: And so we wondered, you know, because here's the deal.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: You know, sometimes when things keep opening, we've got a Jason Al Dean's and venue, restaurant bar.
- 7:29Dayna Roselli: I guess kind of a honky tongue-ish.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:32Dayna Roselli: Live music.
- 7:33Dayna Roselli: Um, and then we've got Old Red with Blake Shelton.
- 7:35Dayna Roselli: And so some people would say, Oh, do we need a third one on the strip?
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: You know, but I do think that this one, um, compared to the others, uh, was different.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: I like how they're they are all very different.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: Uh, cause it wasn't didn't feel like going into the same thing.
- 7:50Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 7:50Sean McAllister: They each have their own personality.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they do.
- 7:53Dayna Roselli: And setup kind of.
- 7:55Sean McAllister: Yeah, in category 10, by far the biggest of the three.
- 7:59Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:00Sean McAllister: And when you if you have gone to uh Margaritaville throughout the decades here in Las Vegas, you know that was a pretty big venue.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:10Sean McAllister: But they also had a massive bar down on that main level that had a volcano that a girl shot out of, and then got uh slid down into a big blender and got whipped around.
- 8:21Sean McAllister: So that took up a huge footprint.
- 8:23Sean McAllister: And then on the dining room floor downstairs, there was a big pontoon boat that had a bunch of tables on it.
- 8:30Sean McAllister: And so they cleared all that stuff out of there.
- 8:34Sean McAllister: And when you walk in there now, you're like, holy moly, this place is massive, and that's just the first level.
- 8:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's crazy, and it's uh like because O Red is like what do you call it when it's stacked?
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: Yes, I like the stage is in the middle, there's a ground floor of tables, and then it's straight up.
- 8:55Dayna Roselli: So everyone can sit on the edge and look down, right?
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: And then you can look out, then it's got the patio.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: This is more like the you know, the band and the line dancing and all that is on one side.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: There's a level above it that you can sit at the edge and look down, but there's also a couple different bars on the bottom.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: Then you can go up another level, uh, where the roof is, I guess, right?
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: The bar.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:21Dayna Roselli: Because a one, two, three, right.
- 9:23Dayna Roselli: And then um, and then to the side, they also had like another more loungy with couchy area area that like the whiskey bar.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was cool.
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: I was trying to look up the name because I know I have it in my phone somewhere.
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: Was it the still still room or something?
- 9:37Sean McAllister: I think it was.
- 9:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:39Sean McAllister: But they have seven different bars across this three-level venue right there at uh Las Vegas Boulevard and uh the Link promenade, and tons of foot traffic going through there.
- 9:55Sean McAllister: On opening day, there was a line that wrapped around the building.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: They had line dancers up on the steps as they were welcoming in the first guests, and it's been a vibe ever since.
- 10:08Sean McAllister: One of the uh big first events that they had was for a Buffalo Bills fan group because it was leading up to the Raiders Buffalo game.
- 10:17Sean McAllister: And man, it was packed over there.
- 10:20Sean McAllister: They did a live podcast recording in there, so they have opened with uh excitement and vigor.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: They did, right, and the line dancing was fun to watch.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: I had a vodka lemonade for the first time, it was delicious.
- 10:35Sean McAllister: That was a good drink.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the drinks were good.
- 10:37Dayna Roselli: The food we only sampled food, so we didn't order like sit down because it was a media preview event, right?
- 10:42Dayna Roselli: So it was especially for that, but we got to try little different things.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: I finally on the way out, I saw some fried pickles, they were delicious.
- 10:49Sean McAllister: Oh I love my fried pickles, and there uh they had housemade uh just regular pickles, and those were delicious too.
- 10:57Sean McAllister: They were so fresh and crisp and crunchy.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: That's so good.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: Uh yeah, they had some good stuff there.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: Oh, what was that thing that we had, the dessert?
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: It was warm.
- 11:06Sean McAllister: Oh, it was the peach cobbler.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: Oh, that was good.
- 11:09Sean McAllister: The peach cobbler.
- 11:10Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 11:10Sean McAllister: Don't miss out on that.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: That was good.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: So um I think it's gonna do great.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: It's in a great spot.
- 11:16Dayna Roselli: They do have that bar on the outside where you can just get a drink and then keep walking.
- 11:20Sean McAllister: The hurricane bar.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: Hurricane bar, yeah.
- 11:22Dayna Roselli: That we didn't, um it wasn't open yet when we went, but we got some video of it.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: But um, that's a great spot too.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: And see, when you're describing Margaritaville, I've been by there many times, but I never actually went in.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: I would do the the outside bar, you know, or whatever, and then you know, meet people or whatever.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: So I didn't really go that deep in when you're talking about a lady shooting out of a volcano.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: I'm like, what?
- 11:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, so my my buddy Eric from high school lives out here and he was a a bartender at Margaritaville for a while.
- 11:49Sean McAllister: So I would always I would go in there and hang at the bar and chat with Eric and Right.
- 11:55Sean McAllister: So that's why I saw the whole spectacle of the girl shooting out of the volcano.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Got it.
- 12:02Dayna Roselli: Too funny.
- 12:04Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 12:04Dayna Roselli: Well, go enjoy.
- 12:05Dayna Roselli: Category 10 is now open on the Las Vegas strip.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: Um, one of three honky tonks we have now.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: A lot of country fans come in to visit us.
- 12:12Dayna Roselli: NFR's coming up.
- 12:13Dayna Roselli: We're a year-round country fan, country music mecca now.
- 12:18Dayna Roselli: And people who just want to go have a good time can go there too.
- 12:22Sean McAllister: And from what I understand, the music at Category 10 um isn't necessarily going to be all country either.
- 12:28Sean McAllister: I think that they're uh going to bring in artists of all genres to uh perform there.
- 12:34Sean McAllister: So that'll be fun to see uh who they bring in as time goes by.
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: Somebody did comment on one of our posts that they want more rock and roll venues.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: So we're getting too many country.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: And I thought, well, I think when the Hard Rock opens, that's what they're all about for that.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: And he said he was looking forward to that too.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: And um, I said, you know, and keep in mind the Hard Rock Cafe does have great live music and bands and shows too, and a lot of people forget about it, but it's right there across from Park MGM.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: So keep that in mind.
- 13:02Dayna Roselli: You gotta go in, and they have lots of different kinds of specials and stuff like that.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: So it's there is a Hard Rock Cafe on the strip, and that's a big venue, too.
- 13:10Sean McAllister: It is big, yeah.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, we also went to Now You See Me Live at MGM Grand, and this was at the MGM Grand Theater.
- 13:18Sean McAllister: Yeah, this is the old David Copperfield Theater.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it was fun.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: We did the a little party in the red carpet.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: You interviewed uh a lot of the cast members.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: So I haven't seen the movie series you have, so explain it.
- 13:30Sean McAllister: So the the whole premise of uh Now You See Me is there's these group of magicians.
- 13:36Sean McAllister: They're called the Four Horsemen, and they pull off these uh big grand illusions.
- 13:43Sean McAllister: So they like rob a bank uh as part of one of the illusions during a live show, and then the money from the bank vault, they make it rain over the audience, so it's like stealing from the rich and giving to everybody.
- 14:00Dayna Roselli: Got it.
- 14:00Sean McAllister: So they do good with their illusions, but they also like pull off heists and stuff.
- 14:07Dayna Roselli: Okay, because yeah, when you were doing the interviews, they were talking about oh, it was because in the movies they said that MGM Grand was one of the places in from the movie series, in one of the movies that they did a heist.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: So I was like, oh, I didn't know that.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: So I love the connection.
- 14:20Dayna Roselli: The show was great.
- 14:21Dayna Roselli: First, let's do um your interviews on the red carpet so people can hear from the different cast members, and then we'll talk about the show.
- 14:28Speaker 5: The more you think you see, the easier it'll be to fool you.
- 14:35Sean McAllister: From the big screen to the Vegas stage, the four horsemen from the Now You See Me Film franchise bring their grand illusions to the heart of the Las Vegas trip.
- 14:44Sean McAllister: And the cast is ready to defy all logic with what you see on stage in the MGM Grand.
- 14:50Now You See Me Live: If you ask 20 different people what their favorite part was, they got 20 different answers.
- 14:54Now You See Me Live: I mean, my favorite thing is the audience.
- 14:56Now You See Me Live: You've got so many different moments in the audience that they get to experience one trick in particular.
- 15:00Now You See Me Live: They do the magic with us, and it happens right in your hands.
- 15:05Now You See Me Live: Like DB uh performed back in the days, but in a completely different way.
- 15:10Now You See Me Live: That's the best.
- 15:16Sean McAllister: And what do you think fans of the franchise are going to love most about the show?
- 15:20Now You See Me Live: I mean it has the same vibe as the movies, you know, it's not based on them, but it definitely is inspired by them.
- 15:25Now You See Me Live: So if you love the movies, I highly recommend re-watching them before you come to the show, and I think it's one of those rare experiences where you can jump inside of a movie you love and be a part of the audience.
- 15:34Now You See Me Live: It's very interactive, it's it's it's fun, it's family friendly, and uh I think that's kind of what we what we got from the film with the Horseman.
- 15:40Now You See Me Live: How big is this for you?
- 15:42Now You See Me Live: Well, it's been a dream since I was eight years old.
- 15:44Now You See Me Live: I keep looking up at the screen and the posters look in my face like, is this real, you know?
- 15:50Now You See Me Live: And tomorrow morning I'll check again.
- 15:52Now You See Me Live: And this is where we've all dreamed of having a show one day.
- 15:54Now You See Me Live: I think the coolest thing is we're all backstage sharing stories of being little kids dreaming of being in Vegas.
- 15:59Now You See Me Live: This is just such a special place, and it's such a special Vegas.
- 16:02Now You See Me Live: Of all the places we've been, I am above over the moon so excited to be here.
- 16:07Now You See Me Live: Here in Vegas are the best shows in the world.
- 16:09Now You See Me Live: So we are really thrilled to amaze the biggest audience.
- 16:12Sean McAllister: Does um MGM Grand have to worry about a grand heist being pulled off here?
- 16:20Now You See Me Live: You know, I don't know if I need to worry too much, but we'll see what we can do.
- 16:25Now You See Me Live: I don't know.
- 16:26Now You See Me Live: I'll keep you posted on that.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: So yeah, when they were talking about that card trick, I think that was the most, for me, the most mind-blowing thing.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: We had these cards, everyone, handed to us.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: Look around the table, look who you're sitting at.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: Everyone had different cards.
- 16:43Dayna Roselli: We were shifting them, moving them, ripping them of our own choice.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: Rowing them.
- 16:49Dayna Roselli: Throwing them, all these things.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: We put one in our pocket that we ripped, and by the end, we were at a table of one, two, three, four, five, six people.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: Every single card person's card matched the one that they had in their pocket.
- 17:04Dayna Roselli: I don't know how.
- 17:06Sean McAllister: So we had half of a card that was ripped in half that we had put in our pocket, and then we went through the rest of the deck of these ripped cards.
- 17:14Dayna Roselli: And we chose a card.
- 17:16Sean McAllister: We chose we were crumpling them up, throwing them, flipping them in the air, flipping them at people.
- 17:21Sean McAllister: And so that the last half of a card that we had left in our hands, they said, All right, now reach into your pocket and pull out the other half of a ripped card.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: That was crazy.
- 17:32Sean McAllister: And flip them over.
- 17:33Sean McAllister: That was crazy.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: And they freaking match.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 17:35Dayna Roselli: That was amazing.
- 17:36Sean McAllister: And I think everybody's you could hear everybody in the auditorium in the theater, they were like, What?
- 17:43Sean McAllister: I know.
- 17:44Sean McAllister: It was insane.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: That was great.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: It really was great.
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: Uh yeah, I mean, they do a variety of different things, and I think that um people will like it.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: I think it's l great that it's family friendly.
- 17:59Dayna Roselli: Uh, there were kids in the audience, a kid called up on stage.
- 18:03Dayna Roselli: So keep that in mind.
- 18:04Dayna Roselli: People always want to know where are the family friendly shows.
- 18:07Dayna Roselli: Um and you know, it's a large cast, and I I thought it was great.
- 18:10Dayna Roselli: The sleight of hand guy, he was amazing.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: The special featured guy.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: So there were it's it's a fun, it's a good show.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: I think that people will enjoy it, and I think it'll do well there.
- 18:19Dayna Roselli: They're here until January 9th.
- 18:21Sean McAllister: And uh it's uh it's a great magic show.
- 18:24Sean McAllister: We do not have a magic illusion show like this one uh in Las Vegas right now.
- 18:33Sean McAllister: I mean, we we have Penn and Teller, we have Matt Franco, we have Mac King, um, Marie Sawchuk is another longtime magician illusionist.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: Chris Angel.
- 18:45Sean McAllister: Chris Angel.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: Does his own thing, yeah.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: But big illusions.
- 18:48Sean McAllister: His and that is the his are big illusions.
- 18:51Sean McAllister: Um, but it's a different kind of vibe.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, different vibe for sure.
- 18:54Sean McAllister: Than what you get.
- 18:55Dayna Roselli: A little more hardcore.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: Hardcore adult, yes.
- 19:00Sean McAllister: And now you see me is it's a great family show, like you mentioned.
- 19:04Sean McAllister: And and good stuff.
- 19:06Sean McAllister: So if you're uh coming to town and magic is on your to-do list, then check it out.
- 19:13Sean McAllister: Great price point, too.
- 19:14Sean McAllister: I think it's around uh maybe $80, so under $100 to get in there, which is a good deal these days.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: Then you can go over and see the Jabberwockies.
- 19:26Dayna Roselli: They're also at MGM Grand.
- 19:27Sean McAllister: There we go.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: And then you can go to Brad Garrett's Comedy Club.
- 19:29Dayna Roselli: There's a lot going on there.
- 19:30Sean McAllister: There is.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: And then go to the Friends Experience.
- 19:32Dayna Roselli: MGM Grand has a lot.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, we went to the uh to watch the Bills Raiders game.
- 19:38Dayna Roselli: The Raiders um played at home and the Buffalo Bills came into town.
- 19:43Dayna Roselli: If you listen to us for a while, you know Sean and I are from Rochester, New York.
- 19:47Dayna Roselli: So uh have a lot of friends and family members that are huge Bills fans.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: So anyway, we went to whiskey.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: We had never been before for a game, a full game, to watch.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: And it's right next to the stadium.
- 19:59Dayna Roselli: So we wanted to see what it was like.
- 20:01Dayna Roselli: But first, let's start.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: Sean, you took the Game Day Express four dollar bus ride from Boulder Station?
- 20:10Sean McAllister: From Samstown.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: Samstown.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: Four bucks there and back.
- 20:13Dayna Roselli: Um, and it was great on the way there, but how long did it take you to get back?
- 20:17Sean McAllister: I mean you Ubered back home.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: I took the Game Day Express back home, and by the time that I actually got back into my house and texted you, you were like, I have already been back home and in bed for a long time.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: I had two phone calls.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: One with my friend from home, one with my mom.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: Ate.
- 20:44Dayna Roselli: No, I didn't eat because we ate there.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: Uh, like, you know, I needed some water because we had two beers, and that was a lot for me, by the way.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: That's why I was in bed.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: Um, and um I yeah, was in like changed and in bed, and you're texting me that you're not even home yet.
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: I'm like, what?
- 21:02Sean McAllister: It was so I have suggestions on how the RTS buses could change their route out of the stadium.
- 21:13Sean McAllister: Uh-huh.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: Um, we all were like, okay, we gotta get out before the rush.
- 21:19Sean McAllister: We did.
- 21:20Sean McAllister: We got on the first bus, but they waited until the bus was completely full, until the doors of the stadium were open.
- 21:29Dayna Roselli: And so my $30 Uber ride was worth it.
- 21:32Sean McAllister: It was worth it.
- 21:33Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 21:34Sean McAllister: Because I was not a super happy camper on the way home.
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: Got it.
- 21:39Dayna Roselli: Because we can only imagine.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: We did like this.
- 21:41Sean McAllister: I don't even get the way that they went, but because it should have been a straight shot out of there and like take a left and get us back home.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: Right.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: Uh, but they did like this big loop around the whole stadium area, and that's where everybody.
- 21:59Sean McAllister: Leaving the stadium is now walking and filtering out across the streets.
- 22:05Sean McAllister: So, like when it was our turn to take a right, well, it was full of pedestrians crossing the street.
- 22:12Sean McAllister: So we couldn't take a right.
- 22:13Sean McAllister: And then so it was just a whole thing.
- 22:15Carrot Top: Okay.
- 22:15Sean McAllister: I would say four dollars is a great price for a round trip uh for a round trip to and from the stadium on a game day.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: But plan your day.
- 22:27Sean McAllister: Plan your day bring your and pack your patience on your way home.
- 22:31Sean McAllister: Just know what to expect.
- 22:32Sean McAllister: I did not know what to expect, and I was a little impatient.
- 22:36Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:36Sean McAllister: I did not pack my patience.
- 22:38Dayna Roselli: Oh boy, no.
- 22:38Dayna Roselli: I can only imagine what that was like.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: Uh yeah.
- 22:41Dayna Roselli: Plan to play solitaire on your phone and all that.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: Um, we lost, but man, it was a good game.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: When we had that touchdown right in the last what, 30 seconds, I thought, could we pull this off?
- 22:50Dayna Roselli: Darn it.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: But we've been playing great.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: So I'm just gonna stay hopeful and I'm glad the team's doing well.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: We there were tons of Bills fan at Whiskey.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: Uh oh, little note, whiskey, we didn't get a table.
- 23:01Dayna Roselli: Uh, you went in before the game started, put in our names.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: There's just too many people.
- 23:05Sean McAllister: There's just too many people.
- 23:07Dayna Roselli: We did order food at the bar, though.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: So I ate a burger, stood at the bar, chicken sandwich, you had wings, and we were able to get food.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: Uh, they don't let you make changes to the menu.
- 23:16Dayna Roselli: So if you're getting the burger, it's coming with what's on it, and that's up to you because they're too busy.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: Um, but it was fun and it was an experience.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: They have a patio, indoor.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: Um, so it was good.
- 23:29Sean McAllister: And it was uh there were Raiders fans in there, there were Bills fans in there, there were chants going back and forth, taunts going back and forth across the bar.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: You got a hat.
- 23:39Sean McAllister: I got a hat from Callie.
- 23:41Sean McAllister: I shout out to Callie.
- 23:43Sean McAllister: He is a Buffalo Bills fan who he grew up in Buffalo, now lives in Atlanta, um, and who hopefully now is a Vegas revealed listener and viewer.
- 23:54Sean McAllister: Callie, it was great to meet you.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: Thank you for the hat.
- 23:58Dayna Roselli: He actually tried to give me the hat and then I gave it to you.
- 24:01Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 24:02Dayna Roselli: Because I wasn't taking the Buffalo hat.
- 24:03Dayna Roselli: I'm a Raiders fan.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: I love where I'm from, but I gotta I gotta support the town I live in.
- 24:09Sean McAllister: So he had these custom hats made and uh it's it looks like the welcome to Las Vegas sign, but it says welcome to fabulous Buffalo, New York.
- 24:19Sean McAllister: And I I thought that was clever.
- 24:21Sean McAllister: That is, it was a goodwill gesture from a Bills fan to a uh Vegas guy, and uh Callie was great.
- 24:29Sean McAllister: By the way, he came into town for an entire week.
- 24:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, and he was telling me he was like, I went to a concert, I'm going to the Wizard of Oz, I am doing restaurants, I'm doing everything.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's it.
- 24:44Sean McAllister: And he was loving it.
- 24:44Sean McAllister: I said, What do you what how has your Vegas trip been?
- 24:48Sean McAllister: He said, It's been fantastic.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we know how to host.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: I saw someone put up a fake billboard that said, Come to Vegas, it's right outside Allegiant.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: Come to Vegas and watch your team win.
- 25:00Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: And I thought, okay, snarky, but that was like a Photoshop image.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: I thought it was like an AI image or something.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: He said, you know, he even admitted it's fake, but it's funny.
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: Um, but it was like, come enjoy our town and watch your team win.
- 25:16Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: And I thought, come on, go, Raiders.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: They're doing good.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: I think it's going well.
- 25:22Sean McAllister: But Whiskey Stadium over there next to Allegiant Stadium is a great spot if you want to go uh go early and get in on the tailgate vibe and then go watch the game over there.
- 25:33Sean McAllister: I would recommend uh popping in much earlier because they do uh well, they do a tailgate um kind of party leading up to game time inside whiskey stadium.
- 25:46Sean McAllister: It was because they give away that was like at 10 30 in the morning, I think it started.
- 25:50Sean McAllister: And this was a 1 30 uh kickoff.
- 25:52Sean McAllister: So um they do giveaways, they have a full-on thing.
- 25:57Sean McAllister: So if you want a table to sit down and have your own space, get over there early to put your name in.
- 26:03Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 26:03Sean McAllister: Um, otherwise, if you want that bar experience, it's a great spot.
- 26:08Sean McAllister: They have big garage doors that roll up, so it's open air.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's it's cool.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: You got an experience if you want the vibe of the stadium, but you can't get in or you don't want to.
- 26:18Dayna Roselli: I I love watching games at the stadium, but I also like watching them on TV with a group of people.
- 26:22Dayna Roselli: It's fun.
- 26:23Carrot Top: Yeah.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: So, you know, whatever you feel like that day.
- 26:26Dayna Roselli: Um, and I do love my YouTube TV because I can leave games.
- 26:29Dayna Roselli: It happens a lot.
- 26:30Dayna Roselli: I like to get out the door to beat the rush of someone.
- 26:33Dayna Roselli: But I do love that YouTube TV you can watch on your phone.
- 26:36Dayna Roselli: So I watch it on my whole Uber ride home to see where we're at.
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: Um things like that.
- 26:41Dayna Roselli: So it's fun.
- 26:42Dayna Roselli: Um, all right, let's do some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 26:45Dayna Roselli: John, a little birdie, told me that Keith Urban went to Metallica at the sphere.
- 26:52Carrot Top: Ooh.
- 26:52Carrot Top: Yeah.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: And that uh he was seen playing air guitar the entire show and just so immersed and loving it.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: He had a show here in town at Fountain Blue, and they said he was inspired from this Metallica show.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: So I love that because you wouldn't think, like you don't think Keith Urban Metallica.
- 27:12Sean McAllister: Right.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: But I love that he went and immersed himself in it, enjoyed it, and he's obviously a fan and was just noting those guitar skills because you know Keith loves his guitar too.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: He sure does.
- 27:22Sean McAllister: I bet Keith plays a lot of air guitar when he can't get his hands on an actual guitar.
- 27:27Dayna Roselli: I wouldn't mind a party where Keith Urban played uh air guitar all night in the backyard.
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 27:33Dayna Roselli: It'd be fun.
- 27:34Dayna Roselli: Um, the chain smokers were also seen at Metallica.
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: They posted about it actually and loved it.
- 27:39Dayna Roselli: Um, but also um on my way to the Bills Raiders game, I saw on my phone on uh Instagram or something that the Las Vegas airport had a ground stop on on Sunday morning.
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: And I was like, oh, I wonder what that's all about.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: And they're like, oh, this plane kind of like hit the fence and da-da-da-da.
- 27:56Dayna Roselli: Anyway, later that night we find out because New Kids on the Block had their final show on Saturday night.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: On Saturday, Donnie Wahlberg was trying to get out of town later.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: Oh, it was that morning, that Sunday morning, and apparently it was the plane he was on.
- 28:09Dayna Roselli: He does a whole video where he recounts it so you can go watch Donnie's video.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: But um, luckily he was okay.
- 28:16Dayna Roselli: He thanked the pilot, but he said the runway kind of ran out and we kind of hit the fence and yikes.
- 28:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was almost they were almost out on uh Tropicana Avenue.
- 28:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, and that's a a scary situation.
- 28:29Sean McAllister: I did see a video actually uh since then that showed the plane being towed away, and one of the tires was just absolutely shredded.
- 28:40Sean McAllister: So I I wonder, I haven't seen uh you know follow-up reports on exactly what caused that situation.
- 28:48Sean McAllister: But um if one of the tires was shredded, that could prevent the plane from getting enough ground speed to get off the ground.
- 28:56Sean McAllister: So I did see, you know, they have some of those aviation watch uh pages that showed an animation of the the takeoff, and the plane went all the way down the runway and then did a big turn as it got down toward the end, but yeah, scraped along the the fence there.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: Glad everyone's okay.
- 29:17Dayna Roselli: Uh Donnie seemed really thankful and grateful.
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: Sure did because what a morning it is.
- 29:22Sean McAllister: That had to be so scary.
- 29:23Dayna Roselli: And he was already so emotional over ending the the residency because they've had such a successful residency.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: They'll probably go out and tour now.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: Um, but loved it.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: And Donnie was really behind that residency.
- 29:33Dayna Roselli: He really organized a lot of the choreography and did a lot of the speaking parts.
- 29:37Dayna Roselli: They all spoke and did their own things, but you know, so he was very involved.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: And then to kind of end it out like that was sad.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: But he's okay, and uh things are back to normal at the airport.
- 29:49Sean McAllister: They are.
- 29:49Dayna Roselli: There you have it.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 29:51Dayna Roselli: Well, that's a lot for a podcast.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: A lot of great things and ever all the things we did this week.
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: So we hope you enjoyed it.
- 29:57Dayna Roselli: And um, next week we'll be back with much more to talk about.
- 30:01Sean McAllister: We'll talk to you then.
