- 0:00Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark SIMONR. Well, we turned out of
- 0:07Speaker 1: the best business reporter in America, Charlie Gasparino. You see
- 0:11Speaker 1: him on the Fox Business Network. Read his columns New
- 0:13Speaker 1: York Posts. Also, he wrote one of the best books ever.
- 0:16Speaker 1: If you haven't read it, get the book Go Woke,
- 0:19Speaker 1: Go Broke by Charlie Gasprino. Just go to Amazon and
- 0:22Speaker 1: order Go Woke, Go Broke. It's a great book. Charlie Gasparino.
- 0:27Speaker 1: How you doing?
- 0:28Speaker 2: How you doing? Mark? Great to hear from you.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, do we have the craziest governor in the
- 0:33Speaker 1: world here? This Kathy Okle tells everybody to leave. Now
- 0:36Speaker 1: she's telling me why to come back? What is wrong
- 0:38Speaker 1: with her?
- 0:39Speaker 2: He's an idiot? I mean, you know, I'm sorry I
- 0:43Speaker 2: shouldn't say that, but yes, because I've been reading this
- 0:48Speaker 2: as much as you have, and you know, I mean,
- 0:51Speaker 2: if you create this environment where it's very difficult for people,
- 0:56Speaker 2: not just really rich people who can leave in a second.
- 0:58Speaker 2: By the way, now, if you're really rich, you can
- 1:00Speaker 2: literally set up to keep your apartment here in Manhattan,
- 1:03Speaker 2: live down there whatever you know, six months in the
- 1:06Speaker 2: day or whatever, do most of your business down there.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Fly up occasionally. Oh, it's no problem. And we need
- 1:12Speaker 2: those really rich people because they pay all the bills.
- 1:15Speaker 2: If you're a middle class person, you got to move
- 1:17Speaker 2: all together, and she's making it impossible for both of
- 1:20Speaker 2: them to stay here. It's it's it's just unbelievable. And
- 1:26Speaker 2: you know, I you know, it's kind of like we're
- 1:30Speaker 2: a kind of end stage in my view, liberalism or
- 1:35Speaker 2: progressivism here in New York, where it's kind of obvious
- 1:38Speaker 2: that the formula doesn't work. Mark. It's like, if you
- 1:42Speaker 2: tax people, you're pushing on a string. It's there's people
- 1:46Speaker 2: are going to go away if you elect If some
- 1:50Speaker 2: guy like Mondamie gets in there, sneaks in with fifty
- 1:53Speaker 2: percent of the vote and starts talking about you know,
- 1:56Speaker 2: Gaza during Saint Patrick's day, more people, you know what
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm saying. I mean, if you if you just literally
- 2:05Speaker 2: keep packing essentially extort fifty plus percent of your of
- 2:11Speaker 2: someone's wages to taxes. When you get garbage piled up
- 2:14Speaker 2: all over the place where the schools aren't good, they're
- 2:17Speaker 2: gonna leave. And it's just and that's what they've been
- 2:20Speaker 2: doing and they don't care that they have this impact.
- 2:24Speaker 2: It seems because there's a vicious circle where they kind
- 2:28Speaker 2: of all benefit themselves right now, the teachers union, all
- 2:31Speaker 2: the special interests, but the taxpayers. This is a free country,
- 2:34Speaker 2: you can move, so I think they're screwed. I mean,
- 2:37Speaker 2: I've written a few stories about the New York City
- 2:39Speaker 2: budget situation. It is in desperate. It's going to be
- 2:42Speaker 2: a desperate situation because Wall Street does not have to
- 2:44Speaker 2: be here anymore. And that's the only thing keeping this
- 2:47Speaker 2: thing going is is you know, banker bonuses. And when
- 2:51Speaker 2: those banker bonuses leave, and they will leave increasingly. JP
- 2:55Speaker 2: Morgan has more people in Texas than it has in
- 2:57Speaker 2: New York City. Really fit the fact they have hit,
- 3:01Speaker 2: the fact that they have building on uh On Park Avenue.
- 3:05Speaker 2: They have more people in Texas right now, and so
- 3:08Speaker 2: that will continue. That will mean banker bonuses going into
- 3:11Speaker 2: the Texas hop the Texas budget as opposed to ours
- 3:15Speaker 2: and every place else. And it's only because these guys
- 3:19Speaker 2: killed the well it was they killed the Golden Goose.
- 3:22Speaker 2: I guess you could say they made an able to
- 3:25Speaker 2: live here. And I told you this, and you were like, oh,
- 3:28Speaker 2: I told you. I said, ready, I'm going to get
- 3:30Speaker 2: out and you're like, oh, you're not gonna get out.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Of course you're going to get out. You can't deal
- 3:35Speaker 2: with this long term. There's there's almost no solution really
- 3:39Speaker 2: because the state is run. I mean, I mean, how
- 3:42Speaker 2: can you convince It seems like if Bruce Blakeman can't
- 3:46Speaker 2: be governor and I like Bruce a lot, I think
- 3:48Speaker 2: he'd be a good are he's a modern dynamo on
- 3:50Speaker 2: social If he can't become governor in this state, then
- 3:54Speaker 2: you know, the you know, whoever's left here is too stupid,
- 4:00Speaker 2: just going to keep voting for this garbage. So you know,
- 4:03Speaker 2: why fight? Just leave, that's the best way to fight.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Maybe, But Wall Street, it's called Wall Street? Could they
- 4:10Speaker 1: actually be somewhere else?
- 4:12Speaker 2: Well? Have you ever gone down to Wall Street these days?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Down there? I mean go inside the New York stock
- 4:19Speaker 2: Is shames, remember that, the iconic New York opening belt.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Aside for those two photo ops where they kind of
- 4:27Speaker 2: get people to they probably bust them into, like to
- 4:30Speaker 2: make it look like it's something's going on down there,
- 4:34Speaker 2: there's nothing going on. It's all computers. It's done, and
- 4:38Speaker 2: it's just done. It's just I was talking to Dick
- 4:41Speaker 2: Grass of the legendary. Yeah, because you try to preserve
- 4:45Speaker 2: the human element of it, which in many ways is
- 4:48Speaker 2: a good thing because you know, computers break down a
- 4:50Speaker 2: lot too. And you know, we were both laughing about
- 4:53Speaker 2: how this is like it's it's nothing and they and they.
- 4:57Speaker 2: You know, by the way, technology did that, not liberalism,
- 5:00Speaker 2: but liberalism and progressivism, you know, helped help expedite people
- 5:05Speaker 2: from you know, starting up businesses. By the way, if
- 5:08Speaker 2: this SOCCA change sort of morphed into something electronic, there's
- 5:13Speaker 2: all these buildings down there, office space. You would think
- 5:15Speaker 2: if you had a vibrant economy of entrepreneurs, you'd be
- 5:19Speaker 2: able to fill those with with people, and you really can't.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I mean, there's not a lot of business down there.
- 5:24Speaker 2: It's it's a residential neighborhood because we need residential properties
- 5:28Speaker 2: in New York, but they're very high end and this
- 5:31Speaker 2: is a very unlivable place mark in so many ways.
- 5:34Speaker 2: And this Hopeles is so stupid. That mean, she's I mean,
- 5:39Speaker 2: you know she should be one way of the up
- 5:41Speaker 2: she I mean, it's like, you know, Andrew Crmo tried
- 5:43Speaker 2: to do the same thing. He tried to like thread
- 5:45Speaker 2: the needle Okay, I'll pease the liberal base, but I'll
- 5:49Speaker 2: also you know, you know it won't go so far,
- 5:52Speaker 2: and you know, people in the middle will flock to
- 5:55Speaker 2: me because because the alternative is so bad. Well, guess what,
- 5:59Speaker 2: that doesn't happen. The people in the middle off and
- 6:01Speaker 2: leads because you know, because they don't they're sick of You're,
- 6:05Speaker 2: You're sort of you're you're you're sort of a little
- 6:09Speaker 2: less wild and maybe more somewhat more palatable progressivism because
- 6:15Speaker 2: they don't want to deal with because.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Well, you wrote, you wrote the book, Oh Cove Brooke.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Everybody should read that, especially Kathy Hokel.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, god, I can't believe. I can't
- 6:29Speaker 2: believe she's having it. She's she's like in a it's
- 6:33Speaker 2: like she's like high on something, right, and she's just ruminating.
- 6:36Speaker 2: I mean, think about how you're saying.
- 6:38Speaker 1: She sounds yeah, well, I think that's more just a
- 6:41Speaker 1: case of having an IQ about ninety six. That's probably
- 6:44Speaker 1: what it is.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I don't know, but I mean you think about it.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I mean, you're sitting there, you're raising taxes, and then
- 6:52Speaker 2: you're begging people come back, come back, so I can
- 6:55Speaker 2: screw you.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Uh, uh, Charlie Gasparino straight to horror Moose. This is
- 7:02Speaker 1: everybody going crazy. When't you bet the straits of horror
- 7:05Speaker 1: Moose will be open three four weeks from now.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I I you know, I talked to some traders last night. Well,
- 7:12Speaker 2: you know, commodities traders. There is a trade going on
- 7:15Speaker 2: that says this entire sort of notion that you know,
- 7:18Speaker 2: oil supply is totally disrupted, is blowney, and that we
- 7:23Speaker 2: do have a lot of oil. That these are often
- 7:25Speaker 2: these are on fear headlines, and not only that that
- 7:29Speaker 2: they are exaggerated by the algorithms that control a lot
- 7:33Speaker 2: of the trading. And so let me ask you this,
- 7:37Speaker 2: is there really a shortage of oil in the United States?
- 7:41Speaker 1: No, actually, we don't get we don't use any of
- 7:43Speaker 1: that oil from Horrmose.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I mean, how about it around the world? Is there
- 7:46Speaker 2: like are people like like doing odd and even days
- 7:50Speaker 2: in Germany right now? No? I remember the odd and
- 7:53Speaker 2: even days, Like if you had an odd number on
- 7:55Speaker 2: your license plate, you can get guess that day. Even
- 7:57Speaker 2: the next thing. I'm just saying, just oneing, like where
- 8:00Speaker 2: is the supply problem here that you know we're getting
- 8:03Speaker 2: these freakouts? I mean Are you mean to tell me
- 8:08Speaker 2: that that if you close the that there's no solution
- 8:11Speaker 2: to the these streets of her moves? Come on, I mean,
- 8:17Speaker 2: I think it's listen, I think it's going to be solved.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I think that war is over. Basically. You know, the
- 8:24Speaker 2: Uranians lie about everything. Oh we'll do this. Well, they
- 8:27Speaker 2: have nothing left but to lie and scare their population.
- 8:31Speaker 2: And you know, at some point there will be a
- 8:35Speaker 2: tipping in my view, I mean, I spoke with Jack
- 8:37Speaker 2: de Vine. You know, Jack, are gonna be worked at Uh.
- 8:40Speaker 2: It was topsy because there's no haint They're going to
- 8:44Speaker 2: let the streets of her Moves remain closed forever. And
- 8:47Speaker 2: it's just never gonna happen. It's just it's gonna end soon.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I would I would be surprised if it's four weeks.
- 8:53Speaker 1: About two weeks, two and a half weeks, it'll be open.
- 8:56Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean I think it'll be more. It
- 8:58Speaker 2: will increasingly be open.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, Charlie Gasprino, always great talking to you, and everybody.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Get this book. I'm telling you, one of the few
- 9:07Speaker 1: people haven't read it yet. Get his latest book, Go Woke,
- 9:10Speaker 1: Go Broke. It is a fantastic book. Go woke, go broke,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and read his columns in the New York Post. And
- 9:16Speaker 1: you can be on TV today.
- 9:18Speaker 2: No, I don't know. I haven't gotten a request. I
- 9:20Speaker 2: was on yesterday. I did. I did the Will Kine Show.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Lawrence Jones was a very good show. Yeah, it's really good.
- 9:29Speaker 2: So I did that, and I was supposed to do
- 9:30Speaker 2: I couldn't do. I couldn't do Lord's Show last night.
- 9:33Speaker 2: But I don't know. They know how to get me
- 9:36Speaker 2: if they want me.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah, well you'll you'll see them all over Fox News,
- 9:38Speaker 1: Fox Business Network. Great stuff, Charlie Gasprino, thanks for being
- 9:42Speaker 1: with us.
- 9:43Speaker 2: You got it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Mark, take care. Hey, don't forget. Curtis is back. Curtis Leiwa.
- 9:48Speaker 1: He's on every morning here six to ten. It's Curtis
