- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:10Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes five seventy and five seventy one,
- 0:16Speaker 1: The Straw Hats Stunned, the New Fleet, Admiral of the Navy,
- 0:21Speaker 1: and she Loves Sweets, Big Mama of the Four Emperors.
- 0:28Speaker 1: In these episodes, well, I finally get to see Hordy
- 0:32Speaker 1: after the drug has worn off. It was worth the
- 0:35Speaker 1: price of admission, I'll say that. And also we have
- 0:39Speaker 1: some big shakeups going on in the power structure here
- 0:42Speaker 1: in this universe. Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to the show. Everyone.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I am Natasha and I'm Floria and hello.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Yay, welcome Florian. All right, you got to tell me
- 1:13Speaker 1: obligatory first question, why did you choose these episodes for
- 1:17Speaker 1: a wanna be?
- 1:20Speaker 2: It's just well check in kind of sorts, you know,
- 1:25Speaker 2: because like the art is pretty much over, and also
- 1:30Speaker 2: like I have some I have some faults, I have
- 1:33Speaker 2: some takes.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Yes, you told me about this in the chat last time.
- 1:36Speaker 1: You hinted at this, So do you want to frontload
- 1:38Speaker 1: that and just talk about what you were referencing?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Sure, it is just disclaimer. It's a talk about Grace
- 1:50Speaker 2: and I I'm a white dude, so I'm not claiming
- 1:55Speaker 2: to know anything and everything, and this is just like
- 1:58Speaker 2: I don't know. My interpretation of I don't know what
- 2:03Speaker 2: happened here, like in this story are so I don't know,
- 2:13Speaker 2: like like you said, for example, that the townsfolk, I
- 2:19Speaker 2: don't know that they're not like consistent in a way,
- 2:22Speaker 2: you know, like it.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Or they're too consistent. We just get the same thing
- 2:26Speaker 1: over and over.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, and it is I don't I feel like
- 2:32Speaker 2: this all comes kind of down to Oda, sadly. And
- 2:38Speaker 2: what I mean by dad is just basically I did
- 2:42Speaker 2: actually a little research in preparation and a real meaning
- 2:46Speaker 2: really just little I went and looked at how racism
- 2:51Speaker 2: is kind of handled in Japan but well handled or
- 2:54Speaker 2: like you know, what is the state there, And when
- 2:58Speaker 2: I found out it is kind of as it is
- 3:00Speaker 2: everywhere it is around, but apparently I mean Japan, it
- 3:06Speaker 2: is more like the microaggressions are like higher, apparently, and
- 3:13Speaker 2: it is like, yeah, less talked about and I feel
- 3:19Speaker 2: like and I feel like in this just the whole
- 3:23Speaker 2: story arc here Uda wanted to delve into the topic
- 3:28Speaker 2: of racism, which he has before, Like we had the
- 3:33Speaker 2: fishermen before and saw how they were oppressed, Like this
- 3:37Speaker 2: is not news. And Uda actually likes to put social
- 3:46Speaker 2: qualls into his story because one time, in one one
- 3:50Speaker 2: time we had like where Chopper is from, and the
- 3:54Speaker 2: island had like no doctors and only like the king
- 3:59Speaker 2: had only doctors. Then he wanted high prices. So it
- 4:02Speaker 2: is like pretty much a commentary or right right, the
- 4:06Speaker 2: healthcare system, you know, and yeah, would I like to
- 4:11Speaker 2: do that, But I feel like in this case he
- 4:14Speaker 2: kind of I don't know why, but he fumbled.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah. This is something that Rashaan has talked about a
- 4:23Speaker 1: lot too, is like the Asian community and they're like weird.
- 4:31Speaker 1: They want to be a part of like the banner
- 4:35Speaker 1: of people of color, but not if it includes black people,
- 4:39Speaker 1: Like that's a separate thing a lot of the time,
- 4:42Speaker 1: and there is just a lot of racism that comes
- 4:44Speaker 1: at black people from the Asian community. And I honestly
- 4:51Speaker 1: I have only seen like a little bit of any
- 4:53Speaker 1: examples of that. But I'm like, what I have seen
- 4:57Speaker 1: has been pretty egregious. So I was like, not, once
- 5:02Speaker 1: I stopped and thought about that with this, it made
- 5:05Speaker 1: some sense, but continue because I don't think you were done.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, just by the way, guys, As I said, I
- 5:13Speaker 2: did some research. I watched like YouTube videos where people
- 5:17Speaker 2: were interviewed, and I want to say there were also
- 5:20Speaker 2: people in their like of people of color living in
- 5:22Speaker 2: Japan who said they did not really experience racism. So
- 5:27Speaker 2: it's just a disclaimer that not everybody is the same
- 5:32Speaker 2: or has the same Yeah. But yeah, I feel like
- 5:37Speaker 2: just Oda wanted to include this, and I mean we
- 5:41Speaker 2: can talk about it in a way like is it
- 5:46Speaker 2: a good idea that an offer tries to include this
- 5:48Speaker 2: in a story, you know, like the topic of racism.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I personally feel like it. Yeah. You I like the
- 5:59Speaker 2: more represent you know, like or like eyes on a topic.
- 6:04Speaker 2: But he just did not really do the best and
- 6:08Speaker 2: we can just guess why that is. You know, I'm
- 6:11Speaker 2: not saying it is like completely awful, but one thing
- 6:16Speaker 2: I would say is like he didn't want the Strides
- 6:22Speaker 2: to be white knights. You know, he did actually not
- 6:25Speaker 2: want them to be the ones that come in and
- 6:28Speaker 2: save these oppressed people because they need to be saved.
- 6:33Speaker 2: That was like the whole argument that Jimbey had with
- 6:37Speaker 2: Lufy when they were back in the sea forest, you know,
- 6:40Speaker 2: like like Jimbey was like, you cannot just march in
- 6:43Speaker 2: there and defeat Hody, because then it would be just
- 6:47Speaker 2: another human killing another fashion man, you know. Yeah, And
- 6:54Speaker 2: the way other works it around is basically that they
- 6:57Speaker 2: came up with the idea and that Loupy needs to
- 7:02Speaker 2: be like basically the hero in the sense that the
- 7:04Speaker 2: people call for him, and that's kind of why we
- 7:08Speaker 2: had this whole set up, because he's not, I mean,
- 7:10Speaker 2: at least in my mind. The straw Heads did actually
- 7:13Speaker 2: not play the White Knights in this story. Really. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 2: I agree with you, agree with that adocally good, But
- 7:21Speaker 2: I just feel like there is some steps taken the
- 7:28Speaker 2: show that Odor does understand like parts of of the racism,
- 7:34Speaker 2: I mean, just like the systematic or like you know,
- 7:38Speaker 2: the whole beast, But I don't feel like he's equipped
- 7:43Speaker 2: to like truly fully think of every aspect.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, finish, finish.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I'm just talking along. But the last thing
- 7:59Speaker 2: I want to make is just and the Fishermen do
- 8:05Speaker 2: not give Lufy his blood, which is kind of weird
- 8:09Speaker 2: because he saved them all. But I think again that
- 8:13Speaker 2: this order kind of being like I cannot let this
- 8:18Speaker 2: story end in a way where it's like they punk
- 8:21Speaker 2: the bad guy and racism is over, you know, like
- 8:24Speaker 2: I feel like he cannot do that, but it does
- 8:27Speaker 2: not feel satisfying to watch, you know. So yeah, so
- 8:32Speaker 2: I feel like a lot of problems in this come
- 8:35Speaker 2: from from yeah other's handling of whole racism and plot
- 8:43Speaker 2: I call it, but I don't say here. There's definitely
- 8:47Speaker 2: some shining moments in there, but they are also like
- 8:50Speaker 2: things where I can at least see that he does
- 8:53Speaker 2: not himself really know like the answer or even the
- 8:57Speaker 2: question or like what what do? So it kind of
- 9:01Speaker 2: feels it feels distonjointed in some places. So for me,
- 9:07Speaker 2: this is a good idea. But executionerism.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Yeah, It's kind of funny because I remember that when
- 9:15Speaker 1: we started this arc, you told me that there were
- 9:16Speaker 1: a lot of people out there who felt like this
- 9:18Speaker 1: had too much race talk in it, like the storyline,
- 9:22Speaker 1: And at the time I was sort of like, oh god,
- 9:24Speaker 1: people whining about the woke mind virus blah blah blah.
- 9:28Speaker 1: And now that I'm on the other side of it,
- 9:31Speaker 1: I see why people might have had more of an
- 9:33Speaker 1: issue with it, just because it doesn't feel like it
- 9:35Speaker 1: was handled that well, The question for me about like
- 9:39Speaker 1: whether or not somebody who isn't themselves of an oppressed group,
- 9:46Speaker 1: whether they should depict the struggles of that group in
- 9:51Speaker 1: their fiction always comes down to you feel free to
- 9:57Speaker 1: write whatever you want. You really should take responsibility for
- 10:03Speaker 1: whether you have engaged anyone of that community with your
- 10:09Speaker 1: with your creation before you put it out there to
- 10:12Speaker 1: the world. If you're going to be having a storyline
- 10:15Speaker 1: that deals a lot in racism, do you have any
- 10:18Speaker 1: Black people like editing this with you in the writer's
- 10:23Speaker 1: room with you, you know? And that's always for me
- 10:27Speaker 1: something that you can really tell a lot of the
- 10:30Speaker 1: time whether or not there was anybody of the community
- 10:32Speaker 1: in the room and whether they felt for you to
- 10:34Speaker 1: be like, that's not the vibe. Actually, no, don't do that,
- 10:38Speaker 1: you know. And I fully agree with the sentiment of like,
- 10:45Speaker 1: I don't want to end this and act like, you know,
- 10:48Speaker 1: Lufy saved them and now racism is over. It's the
- 10:52Speaker 1: combo of not only that nobody would donate blood, but
- 10:57Speaker 1: then everybody is cheering for Jimbei when he does it.
- 11:01Speaker 1: It feels much more like everybody should be sort of
- 11:04Speaker 1: like like trepidacious watching him do this and kind of like, well,
- 11:10Speaker 1: maybe this is okay, And after they watch him do it,
- 11:14Speaker 1: perhaps one or two people are like, you know what,
- 11:17Speaker 1: if you need more or if any of you need blood,
- 11:20Speaker 1: I am willing to donate after all, Like if that
- 11:23Speaker 1: just turned a corner with a couple people, But it
- 11:26Speaker 1: was just very strange that nobody would donate and then
- 11:29Speaker 1: Jimba steps up and everyone behaves as if he's a hero,
- 11:34Speaker 1: and that just didn't go together to me.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like that the crowd, especially in the
- 11:43Speaker 2: last part of this art, oftentimes is just like one
- 11:47Speaker 2: entity basically, you know, like they have the same opinion,
- 11:52Speaker 2: you know, except for children, which is again I'm not
- 11:57Speaker 2: sure what Dat wanted to bring something in basically of
- 12:02Speaker 2: like the next generation and like how we have to
- 12:05Speaker 2: raise them right, which of course I agree with, but
- 12:09Speaker 2: at the same time it is a little heavy hand.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I did like with the kids though, that they
- 12:18Speaker 1: like whenever somebody was like, oh I knew the whole time,
- 12:21Speaker 1: the kids being like the fuck you knew the whole shit?
- 12:23Speaker 1: The hell up? That was kind of funny because kids
- 12:26Speaker 1: are very good at just being like, why are you
- 12:29Speaker 1: saying a thing that didn't happen. I don't get it.
- 12:32Speaker 1: That's not what happened. Why would you say that? And
- 12:34Speaker 1: you know, as adults were like, no, we know why
- 12:36Speaker 1: they're lying, but kids just they haven't gotten there yet,
- 12:40Speaker 1: so they're just like, you must be remembering wrong. Allow
- 12:43Speaker 1: me to clear it up for you. That's not what
- 12:45Speaker 1: it was. Is there anything else about this? Uh?
- 12:53Speaker 2: Like the past episodes, I don't think so. I feel like,
- 12:58Speaker 2: I mean, we were pretty much start where the last
- 13:00Speaker 2: one stopped. So I feel like the ghost hand in
- 13:04Speaker 2: hand with the talk between Niptune. No, not Niptun. No,
- 13:10Speaker 2: he's King Neptune, right, And Poseidon is the weapon?
- 13:13Speaker 1: Yes, yes, correct?
- 13:15Speaker 2: No, I confuse myself with those two.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Sometimes it is a little bit odd. It's also kind
- 13:21Speaker 1: of weird because like, and this again may be a
- 13:23Speaker 1: translation thing, but when he's talking to Miko Robin and
- 13:27Speaker 1: he tells her the weapons were named after gods, and
- 13:32Speaker 1: he says like Urinus and Jupiter or something, and then Poseidon,
- 13:40Speaker 1: which he is like, Neptune is the planet that is
- 13:49Speaker 1: named after a god, so they should have named him
- 13:52Speaker 1: Poseidon and had the weapon be named Neptune in order
- 13:57Speaker 1: for it to go along with the theme for because
- 14:01Speaker 1: it seems like they're all planet names that he was saying.
- 14:03Speaker 1: You know, I feel like I'm going to mess those
- 14:06Speaker 1: names up just to warn you guys.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Yeah it's fine. Yeah, but still again, I just really
- 14:14Speaker 2: that did last time in the chat. I like the
- 14:16Speaker 2: idea of it being living being you know, mm hm,
- 14:21Speaker 2: that's just so much fun in my opinion.
- 14:24Speaker 1: You know, I really hope that she like can just
- 14:27Speaker 1: not like that, she can serve a function and then
- 14:29Speaker 1: it'll be over and she doesn't have to be a
- 14:32Speaker 1: weapon anymore. Like that she can retire, because just living
- 14:36Speaker 1: like that forever sounds like a real trag that is
- 14:39Speaker 1: not a life. Come on, that's not fair, you know.
- 14:44Speaker 2: But I think she guess she will die, like I mean,
- 14:49Speaker 2: she's not immortal. I think that's not something that they
- 14:51Speaker 2: said at least, so.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Yeah, but what if she dies because she's a weapon?
- 14:58Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, that's the that's you know, like, that's what.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I'm worried about, is like, is she gonna be asked
- 15:04Speaker 1: to sacrifice herself and she just got put in this position.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It's not like she was part of something and decided like,
- 15:13Speaker 1: oh you know what I'm gonna put it all on
- 15:14Speaker 1: the line. It's just now, you were born as this thing,
- 15:18Speaker 1: so eventually you're gonna have to serve that function, which
- 15:21Speaker 1: I like. I like this idea in terms of the plot,
- 15:24Speaker 1: but I just feel really bad for her. It's a
- 15:27Speaker 1: it's a bum rap, as they say, if I want
- 15:32Speaker 1: to sound like a nineteen twenties gangster. All right, all right,
- 15:37Speaker 1: so let's start with five seventy the straw hats stunned.
- 15:43Speaker 1: It's also the straw hats surprised, depending on the translation.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I am always interested in these little changes because I
- 15:53Speaker 1: don't understand the significance. Why would you change it from
- 15:56Speaker 1: surprised to stunned just for the drama? I guess of
- 16:01Speaker 1: stun being more like intensive word.
- 16:06Speaker 2: And I'll tell you it's it's mean. I don't know.
- 16:13Speaker 1: So we start off, like I said, with Nico Robin,
- 16:17Speaker 1: like the conversation between her and King Neptune, and he
- 16:24Speaker 1: says that like the weapons that were created, he calls
- 16:31Speaker 1: them entities, that they were created for an unknown reason.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Mm hmmm. I'm just gonna say, I think I'm pretty
- 16:42Speaker 2: sure this is like a translation problem, Like, as far
- 16:46Speaker 2: as I know, it's not actually said entities.
- 16:50Speaker 1: It's just oh, okay, noted.
- 16:54Speaker 2: I think he just I think he just calls them
- 16:56Speaker 2: weapon again, like he does again use the word weapon.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Godcha, Okay, I.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Think because this, I'm pretty sure it's not yeah, because
- 17:08Speaker 2: this makes it feel like everything is a what's it called, yeah,
- 17:14Speaker 2: an entity like a.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Being, yeah, something alive.
- 17:20Speaker 2: And we actually know okay, little history flashbacks and oh god, Pluton.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Pluton was the one that Crocodile was after he found
- 17:31Speaker 2: like the pornoglyph.
- 17:34Speaker 1: John right, mm hmm, I forgot about that, okay.
- 17:40Speaker 2: That what was he was after on Alabaster and it
- 17:44Speaker 2: was not there, but it was basically in the pornoglyph.
- 17:48Speaker 2: It's at where to find it? But we don't know
- 17:51Speaker 2: because Robin never told. That's why she got stabbed. And however,
- 17:59Speaker 2: we know from Pluton the Frankie Frankie had like this
- 18:07Speaker 2: called blueprints. He had the blueprints of like a weapon
- 18:11Speaker 2: that he got from his master Tom and like the
- 18:14Speaker 2: CP nine was after after them. Because of that, and
- 18:19Speaker 2: as far as I remember it is that that those
- 18:23Speaker 2: blueprints were like a counter weapon to Pluton. So that
- 18:29Speaker 2: is also where we heard the name before. And because
- 18:33Speaker 2: of that, I don't I'm not completely sure, but those
- 18:37Speaker 2: two things point to me that not necessarily also another being,
- 18:43Speaker 2: because why would you need to build something like a
- 18:48Speaker 2: ship or something too Well, maybe maybe it is like
- 18:52Speaker 2: a super strong battleship, maybe, but I just find that
- 19:00Speaker 2: that it is not clearly stated in the manga, so
- 19:05Speaker 2: we don't know yet. I mean, at this point, I am.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Going to express my surprise. I'm sorry, I'm realizing that
- 19:14Speaker 1: I'm making lots of faces, and that if you are
- 19:16Speaker 1: not actually here live watching, it just sounds like I'm
- 19:18Speaker 1: sitting here, dead silent, not responding to anything Florian is saying.
- 19:22Speaker 1: I am listening quite intently. But it's just that this
- 19:27Speaker 1: show really likes any time that something is brought up
- 19:30Speaker 1: from the past. It really likes to have us see
- 19:34Speaker 1: a flashback and remind us of a thing. And I
- 19:38Speaker 1: am genuinely shocked, as you are pointing this out, that
- 19:43Speaker 1: we didn't get that flashback here to remind us about
- 19:46Speaker 1: Pluton and Crocodile and that whole thing that was so
- 19:51Speaker 1: long ago. They can't think that everybody is going to remember, right.
- 19:57Speaker 2: No, And that's the thing. It does not really mean
- 20:00Speaker 2: mattering this moment, you know, like I feel like I
- 20:02Speaker 2: mean it doesn't.
- 20:03Speaker 1: But it's like it makes it feel a lot more
- 20:06Speaker 1: developed a concept because it's not coming out of nowhere,
- 20:13Speaker 1: you know.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it is like that is one of the
- 20:17Speaker 2: things even though it is a super long ago, it
- 20:20Speaker 2: is actually rewarding to watch again because it's like, yeah,
- 20:26Speaker 2: because the seeds were planted early.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I just really wish that, like you know that
- 20:35Speaker 1: I am not the one that's usually going where's the flashbacks?
- 20:38Speaker 1: But I mean that's really a perfect time for it
- 20:42Speaker 1: to tie everything together. And I'm just shocked and I
- 20:48Speaker 1: would never have recalled. And even if it doesn't ultimately
- 20:51Speaker 1: matter at the moment, it makes me sort of like
- 20:56Speaker 1: just respect this plot beat a little bit more if
- 20:59Speaker 1: that makes it what weird? This show is weird. It's
- 21:06Speaker 1: just strange sometimes and it does weird things that I
- 21:09Speaker 1: don't understand, and I just sort of have to like
- 21:12Speaker 1: keep reminding myself to accept that and move on.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Huh. I'm looking forward to like the new season of
- 21:25Speaker 2: that one piece, like the live action, I mean, because
- 21:28Speaker 2: I feel like, if you're gonna watch it, I feel
- 21:30Speaker 2: like you will be I wonder what it will be
- 21:32Speaker 2: like if you will be like, oh, yeah, or if
- 21:34Speaker 2: you will be like, did that happen?
- 21:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good question. Hmmm. Yeah, this show is
- 21:44Speaker 1: going to be uh, it's gonna be very interesting to see.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I mean, I'm almost like, for example, the fact that
- 21:55Speaker 1: Garbus Lufy's grandfather is in the first season at quite
- 22:00Speaker 1: far along in the main series, So I am just
- 22:04Speaker 1: kind of crossing my fingers that they don't do any
- 22:08Speaker 1: jumping ahead in terms of the info that you get
- 22:11Speaker 1: in the second season. I know that you guys are
- 22:14Speaker 1: gonna watch it before me, so if that happens, you'll
- 22:17Speaker 1: protect me from the spoilers, and I am aware, but
- 22:20Speaker 1: it would be a real bummer if they did, and
- 22:22Speaker 1: then I couldn't watch the second season like until I
- 22:26Speaker 1: got to that in the main show, you know.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah, but I would say, like the like we are
- 22:35Speaker 2: pass the time jump, And it would truly surprise me
- 22:39Speaker 2: if they would put anything after the time jump in
- 22:44Speaker 2: the in the lt Netflix series, because I don't I
- 22:47Speaker 2: cannot think of a single thing that would make sense
- 22:50Speaker 2: like other things. I can see them maybe move around,
- 22:54Speaker 2: but that is like such a definite point in the
- 22:57Speaker 2: story where's a whole lot changes, Like we hear it
- 23:01Speaker 2: in these episodes, you know, like things have changed. Yeah,
- 23:04Speaker 2: I don't see that you could be spoiled in that
- 23:07Speaker 2: way by the Netflix show. I think I would be
- 23:11Speaker 2: really surprised.
- 23:12Speaker 1: That's a good point because of like passing this time jump.
- 23:17Speaker 1: It really does feel like we have moved into a whole.
- 23:19Speaker 1: It's not just an arc. It's just a completely new
- 23:22Speaker 1: like iteration of the show. So that probably will change. Okay,
- 23:27Speaker 1: that makes sense, all right. So we go from their
- 23:33Speaker 1: conversation about the weapons to then jim May talking with
- 23:38Speaker 1: Loofy and the rest of the straw Hats pretty much
- 23:41Speaker 1: about what's been going on in the world, and he
- 23:45Speaker 1: is asking Loofy like have you been keeping on top
- 23:49Speaker 1: of what's going on? And Loofy just says, what do
- 23:54Speaker 1: you even mean? And Jimmy's like, yeah, all right, so
- 23:57Speaker 1: you are like just totally uninformed. And he talks about
- 24:03Speaker 1: this uh a kg versus Akay you did they get
- 24:11Speaker 1: it right? Oh my god, I can't believe. I God,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I'm so happy. And the fact that they like duked
- 24:21Speaker 1: it out for control and it's Akig who leaves right
- 24:31Speaker 1: because a Kayu wins, Yes, exactly, okay, so left he leaves,
- 24:41Speaker 1: which like makes total sense to me, because his energy
- 24:46Speaker 1: just never really made since with the rest of the Marines,
- 24:51Speaker 1: Like his vibe always sort of felt like, I don't
- 24:56Speaker 1: really want to be doing this, but I have a job,
- 24:58Speaker 1: so I guess.
- 25:00Speaker 2: You know. Yeah, they all have like a motto, a
- 25:03Speaker 2: motto like and he says, lazy justice.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Oh my god, I love that. What this is like,
- 25:17Speaker 1: This is like the the animal crossing personality type that
- 25:20Speaker 1: I didn't know I needed. Oh my god, lazy justice. Okay,
- 25:25Speaker 1: please continue with that. What are the other ones?
- 25:28Speaker 2: Wait? I have to ud, I have to look them up.
- 25:32Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but can you that's fine, just just well, yes, fight.
- 25:42Speaker 1: I was really like so, So I'm gonna be honest
- 25:48Speaker 1: you guys about this is that we have jumped over
- 25:52Speaker 1: to the various players from the War of the Best
- 25:56Speaker 1: a few times and sort of seeing what's going on
- 26:01Speaker 1: with them, and then come back to our friends, and
- 26:04Speaker 1: it's been pretty brief little jumps, and I haven't retained
- 26:09Speaker 1: what happened in those scenes at all. It's like, if
- 26:12Speaker 1: it didn't immediately have an impact on the straw Hats,
- 26:16Speaker 1: I completely lost track of what was happening here. So
- 26:19Speaker 1: I don't even recall, did we see this any of this, like,
- 26:25Speaker 1: you know, actual confrontation, because I feel like we saw
- 26:29Speaker 1: the beginnings of it, but we never actually saw how
- 26:32Speaker 1: it went down. And I am beginning to really doubt
- 26:36Speaker 1: myself on that.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Well, the confrontation, I don't think we saw.
- 26:44Speaker 1: It now, Okay, that makes me feel better.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but it is. I find it like really interasting.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Nobody called this out, but they fight for the top position, right, Okay,
- 27:01Speaker 2: the Marine they are the Marines. I'm just going Am
- 27:05Speaker 2: I the only one who finds that weird that they're
- 27:08Speaker 2: like who should have be in charge? Well? Yeah, I'm
- 27:14Speaker 2: kind of like, am I the only one who finds
- 27:17Speaker 2: it kind of weird that, like our governing body decides
- 27:20Speaker 2: to handle things that way?
- 27:23Speaker 1: I think that I just interpret it and I don't
- 27:27Speaker 1: really like I didn't realize that I was doing this,
- 27:30Speaker 1: but I think I interpreted it as more, uh, we're
- 27:35Speaker 1: going to let you guys like who are both vying
- 27:39Speaker 1: for this position do get out on your own time,
- 27:44Speaker 1: and then what however things fall out, you guys can
- 27:48Speaker 1: decide how you want to handle it from there, And
- 27:50Speaker 1: not that it was like a sanctioned thing, that it
- 27:52Speaker 1: was just sort of like these two dudes being like, oh,
- 27:55Speaker 1: really you want to go for this promotion, Well, I'll
- 27:58Speaker 1: just give half your face and how about that. Now,
- 28:00Speaker 1: go for the promotion. But the way that it is
- 28:04Speaker 1: talked about by Gene Bank makes it feel like it's
- 28:07Speaker 1: more sanctioned than it should be. I guess really when
- 28:12Speaker 1: it comes down to you, that's the feeling for me
- 28:14Speaker 1: of just like.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Whoa, I don't know. Yeah, I mean at last and
- 28:20Speaker 2: at least in this flash flashback or like depiction, they
- 28:24Speaker 2: are wearing their like coats, like their uniforms, so I'm just.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Like, true, yeah, it's like you're not allowed to do
- 28:32Speaker 1: anything while wearing the uniform. I got fired from a
- 28:35Speaker 1: job one time for making a dick joke while I
- 28:37Speaker 1: was wearing the apron even though I was off the clock.
- 28:44Speaker 2: So boy, you're.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Right, wearing wearing the uniform is probably like pretty significant
- 28:51Speaker 1: in terms of whether or not it's seen is endorsed.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Ah right, well now I don't now, I just agree
- 28:59Speaker 1: with you.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Sorry. And so I found I found the other twos.
- 29:06Speaker 2: The is absolute justice yeah, and Kisaru's the light guy
- 29:18Speaker 2: is unclear Justice. So we had unclear unclear justice.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Yes, interesting. So we've got lazy justice, absolute justice, and
- 29:34Speaker 1: unclear justice.
- 29:37Speaker 2: Humming. It is at least we had because one of
- 29:43Speaker 2: them left. So, and do you think we will see
- 29:46Speaker 2: a new new face? Amrals Now?
- 29:55Speaker 1: I'm like, is it going to be some like if
- 29:57Speaker 1: it's a new face, or is it going to be
- 30:00Speaker 1: a face that's like new to the job but somebody
- 30:04Speaker 1: that we know already. I don't know what to think.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I have to assume somebody is going to step in.
- 30:11Speaker 1: But the person that immediately comes to mind for me
- 30:14Speaker 1: is JIMBEI And I don't feel like that really makes
- 30:19Speaker 1: that much sense from where I sit right now. But
- 30:22Speaker 1: the fact that he got invited to join the straw
- 30:25Speaker 1: Hats and didn't does kind of make me feel like
- 30:29Speaker 1: something further has to happen with him, you know, So
- 30:33Speaker 1: maybe that just plot wise, would all line up.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know obligations, right, I don't know what
- 30:47Speaker 2: that is all means. Yeah, but oh, speaking about Jimmy, like,
- 30:52Speaker 2: how how did you come to terms like with the
- 30:58Speaker 2: idea that he will join or I'm going to be honest,
- 31:02Speaker 2: I feel you on your hesitancy, like what you expressed
- 31:07Speaker 2: last episode. Basically I felt that you do.
- 31:11Speaker 1: That makes me feel better because I always feel sad
- 31:13Speaker 1: when it seems like there might be a big development happening,
- 31:18Speaker 1: that that perhaps some folks were excited for me to
- 31:22Speaker 1: get to and that I'm not having a reaction that
- 31:24Speaker 1: they might want to see from me. But I have
- 31:26Speaker 1: to be honest about it. So so okay, tell me
- 31:32Speaker 1: your feelings on this, like how all this went.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Well. First of all, I'm not going to tell you
- 31:38Speaker 2: if he really joins and what will happen.
- 31:41Speaker 1: That's fair. I'm not going to be like Sean and
- 31:43Speaker 1: try and trick you into telling me. Sean, if you're listening,
- 31:47Speaker 1: she's not.
- 31:49Speaker 2: That is always cute. I don't always cute spasif word.
- 31:54Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but he's just like I like to try
- 31:59Speaker 2: that she just keeps Ryan, you know. Yeah, I think
- 32:05Speaker 2: that Chimbey again watching back. He was there in the
- 32:12Speaker 2: prison break, you know, and then at aces execution, and
- 32:17Speaker 2: he always was key, you know, like it is again
- 32:19Speaker 2: not that I dislike him, and I feel like he
- 32:22Speaker 2: would be a great asset to the team, you know,
- 32:24Speaker 2: like fighting wise, and I also feel like he can
- 32:32Speaker 2: keep a cool head in a way, you know, like
- 32:34Speaker 2: I feel like the way that he talked Looviy down
- 32:38Speaker 2: when was when Lovie was like basically dying, I mean
- 32:43Speaker 2: like dying in the way like mentally dying. And the
- 32:48Speaker 2: way that he talked talking that, Yeah, I feel like
- 32:53Speaker 2: that is I'm not saying not all the strades could
- 32:58Speaker 2: do that, you know, like like he I'm not saying
- 33:00Speaker 2: any that he would be the only one. But I
- 33:03Speaker 2: would say that he is a character that I totally
- 33:06Speaker 2: believe he's capable.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Yes, agree, So.
- 33:10Speaker 2: I can see like like benefits of him joining the group. Also,
- 33:14Speaker 2: he's a fish man, you know, like water action great
- 33:17Speaker 2: love that sure. But but other than that, like his
- 33:21Speaker 2: personality is just not I don't know, It's not bad.
- 33:26Speaker 2: It's just not interesting.
- 33:29Speaker 1: It's not exciting. Yeah, it's it's kind of funny because
- 33:35Speaker 1: like you know, I think I've talked a lot about
- 33:38Speaker 1: the sort of role that everybody plays in the crew
- 33:46Speaker 1: and like who is competent and who is less so,
- 33:51Speaker 1: And you would really think that I would be more
- 33:54Speaker 1: pumped about JIMBEI because he is competent and there it
- 33:59Speaker 1: really is, and enough of that on the team, like
- 34:03Speaker 1: all things considered. But and like later on in this conversation,
- 34:10Speaker 1: he says something to Lufy about how like you're supposed
- 34:12Speaker 1: to put yourself on the line to keep your crew safe,
- 34:15Speaker 1: and Lufy's just like, or I could eat treats and
- 34:18Speaker 1: do what I want, And Jiambay is genuinely like, wow,
- 34:22Speaker 1: you guys really And I kind of thought he might
- 34:25Speaker 1: say something like I think I'm going to pass actually
- 34:28Speaker 1: now that you've said that, this doesn't seem like the
- 34:32Speaker 1: place for me. But yeah, he just I kind of
- 34:39Speaker 1: have I realized, like once he was asked to join,
- 34:42Speaker 1: I realized that I have been waiting for another aspect
- 34:47Speaker 1: of Jimbay's personality to pop out, because we have seen
- 34:51Speaker 1: him as so serious and focused in such a fighter
- 34:55Speaker 1: and loyal, and I sort of thought like we're going
- 34:58Speaker 1: to turn a corner and see that maybe Jimbei has
- 35:01Speaker 1: some anger issues, or maybe Jimbae has a real weakness
- 35:06Speaker 1: for I don't know, some kind of food or hobby
- 35:10Speaker 1: or something that gives him a little dimension. And yes,
- 35:16Speaker 1: I'm surprised at this point it hasn't happened, and it
- 35:19Speaker 1: doesn't seem like it will. A quirk. Yes, yes, there
- 35:23Speaker 1: you go exactly, and I'm trying to think of something
- 35:29Speaker 1: like it would be very fun if, for example, he
- 35:32Speaker 1: was super into soap operas, how about that? Just throw
- 35:37Speaker 1: that out there, something something weird like that, you know,
- 35:39Speaker 1: that'd be fun.
- 35:41Speaker 2: He could be like my dad used to read like
- 35:46Speaker 2: a lot of these like really love novels, but like
- 35:51Speaker 2: really super over the top, you know, muddy, not smutty,
- 35:58Speaker 2: but just really I don't know, I will can only
- 36:03Speaker 2: live with you and the kind of thing.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Like oh okay, so like melodramatic, yes, gotcha? Yeah, And.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I don't know. I would find it funny if he
- 36:16Speaker 2: would like read like weird books or something, or like comics, Yes,
- 36:20Speaker 2: like that, you would. It would not be really his character,
- 36:22Speaker 2: like something totally not feeling exactly.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Have you watched Gravity Falls?
- 36:29Speaker 2: I have? Yes.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Do you remember the episode where gruncle Stan is watching
- 36:35Speaker 1: like a Jane Austen style period trauma and he's like
- 36:41Speaker 1: yelling at the TV you had your chance at the
- 36:43Speaker 1: katilion you what is he doing here? Like that kind
- 36:47Speaker 1: of thing. That's what I'm talking about.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, exactly. Ah, you know that that was a
- 36:54Speaker 2: good show.
- 36:56Speaker 1: That was such a good so thank you eternally to
- 36:58Speaker 1: Melanie for COMMISSI need you to watch that. What a delight.
- 37:02Speaker 1: That was. I've rewatched that whole series like twice since.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Then, even Oh okay, no, I have not seen it
- 37:07Speaker 2: in a couple of years. I should give it a rewatch.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Definitely. Do it pays off, especially after you like know
- 37:16Speaker 1: some of what's coming. There are so many little things
- 37:18Speaker 1: along the way that you're like, oh, those sneaky little bastards.
- 37:22Speaker 1: That was a hint right there. It's very good. Yeah, anyway,
- 37:26Speaker 1: I'm sorry, guys, we're not talking about but you should
- 37:30Speaker 1: go and watch Gravity Falls. Highly recommend it, and so yes,
- 37:38Speaker 1: and do that definitely. I'm trying to remember because I
- 37:43Speaker 1: feel like there was something else that that Jimmy tells them,
- 37:47Speaker 1: like in terms of news, and I don't remember what
- 37:50Speaker 1: it is.
- 37:52Speaker 2: It's just webcast. It's Blackbeard, right, and he has.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Like taken over all of white Beard's territories.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Right, well, not all of it, but there was just
- 38:06Speaker 2: like a shift or like a power vacuum, and right
- 38:09Speaker 2: right right, he grabbed a big junk, like, for example,
- 38:14Speaker 2: Fisherman Island used to be white Beards. Now it's big mom.
- 38:18Speaker 2: So it's not like everything automatically went to black Beard,
- 38:22Speaker 2: you know.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Yeah, true or true? I should have seen that coming,
- 38:30Speaker 1: because you know, we've had a few hints at the
- 38:34Speaker 1: fact that the places that white Beard was protecting are
- 38:41Speaker 1: very much like left undefended and up for grabs at
- 38:44Speaker 1: this point, including this fucking place that we are right now.
- 38:48Speaker 1: But I just wasn't really considering this was going to
- 38:52Speaker 1: be going on outside of where our friends were. I
- 38:56Speaker 1: thought that, like anywhere that it was happening, we would
- 38:59Speaker 1: get to see it. So there's something very upsetting about
- 39:02Speaker 1: finding out like later that, oh no, that's just been happening.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Oh sorry, I dropped my I have his pen here
- 39:08Speaker 1: that I'm just fiddling with. But it's very upsetting to
- 39:12Speaker 1: realize that, like they're gonna come back up for air,
- 39:16Speaker 1: and he's going to have been hard at work the
- 39:19Speaker 1: whole time that they were gone, taking things over. I
- 39:21Speaker 1: don't like it. This is making me very nervous. Teach
- 39:25Speaker 1: is also just such a fucking maniac weirdo that I
- 39:30Speaker 1: don't know what he wants these territories for. What is
- 39:33Speaker 1: he even after Well we know what he's after. We
- 39:35Speaker 1: have that whole thing too, because it's really about devil
- 39:39Speaker 1: fruit powers. I just want, yeah, I just want to
- 39:44Speaker 1: take a moment and acknowledge the amazing joke of Chopper
- 39:49Speaker 1: being worried that they're gonna want his human human fruit power,
- 39:52Speaker 1: which is just a really good joke, and I felt
- 39:56Speaker 1: like it was underplayed a lot, and I wanted to
- 39:59Speaker 1: point it out because I found that truly hilarious. I
- 40:02Speaker 1: cackled to myself a little bit over that. But of
- 40:06Speaker 1: course Chopper is gonna be like, oh no, what about me?
- 40:08Speaker 1: And I think it's us up Who's like, I don't
- 40:10Speaker 1: think you need to worry about it, and Chopper just
- 40:13Speaker 1: just like, really, it doesn't get why. Oh Chopper, you
- 40:17Speaker 1: precious little angel. I love him so much.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Say it again, He's the cutest. Sorry, yes, I think then, well,
- 40:34Speaker 2: the black Beard Pirates. I just find it funny how
- 40:40Speaker 2: first time we meet them, like we have a little
- 40:43Speaker 2: flashback here, but first time we meet them, like black
- 40:46Speaker 2: Bitch is like nothing, you know, he's just like something
- 40:49Speaker 2: time Like for us, he's nothing. As we later find out,
- 40:53Speaker 2: he'd like like Ace was after him and all that stuff.
- 40:56Speaker 2: You know. But it's so interesting to basically introduced them
- 41:01Speaker 2: one of the now main vieelains in such a manner
- 41:06Speaker 2: like really, like so the guy.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember when I like, when we saw him
- 41:15Speaker 1: at Impaled Down, I think, and I had to be like,
- 41:18Speaker 1: why does this guy look familiar? And you guys all
- 41:20Speaker 1: had to like remind me, do you remember the dude
- 41:23Speaker 1: that was just like drunk in the street And I
- 41:26Speaker 1: was like, what this is him? It was just like,
- 41:30Speaker 1: it's not usually how Oda plays it with villains, And
- 41:34Speaker 1: so I was genuinely like I thought, because this dude
- 41:40Speaker 1: started out so low key that he was going to
- 41:44Speaker 1: end up kind of being nothing. And when it turned
- 41:48Speaker 1: out that he is continuing on being a villain, he
- 41:52Speaker 1: still lived through all of these fights, and the fact
- 41:55Speaker 1: that he has learned how to do this like incredible
- 41:58Speaker 1: dangerous thing of taking these powers, I don't remember. Does
- 42:02Speaker 1: Jimby know how he figured out how to do this?
- 42:04Speaker 1: He doesn't know, right, No, I am super curious about
- 42:09Speaker 1: this because I feel like there has to be an
- 42:16Speaker 1: object that he attained or something like that that is
- 42:19Speaker 1: enabling this. Like this doesn't feel for me like the
- 42:22Speaker 1: kind of thing that a person just develops a skill
- 42:25Speaker 1: and they can suddenly do this. And since we have
- 42:30Speaker 1: another weapon out there out of these three, I assume
- 42:36Speaker 1: that's what he's working with. And I'm not sure if
- 42:38Speaker 1: it's like if he is aware or like and went
- 42:43Speaker 1: seeking it because of that, I would have to think
- 42:47Speaker 1: you would go seeking it, right, But this is all
- 42:50Speaker 1: me assuming that it's one of those three weapons, and
- 42:52Speaker 1: it may not be. But I mean, this is a
- 42:53Speaker 1: pretty massive thing to be able to do, so it
- 42:56Speaker 1: seems like it has to be a significant.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Item or it is the same thing as Hero shiro
- 43:02Speaker 2: Ho she where like he is the weapon himself and
- 43:06Speaker 2: maybe the deal aware he can he's the only person
- 43:11Speaker 2: who can like control or have multiple devil.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Fruits, you know, yeah, true to true.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Which also would be like insane when you think about it.
- 43:20Speaker 2: If that is one of the weapons, it would be
- 43:22Speaker 2: like okay, so also not not a bad but ability.
- 43:28Speaker 1: I would love to see a h a like a
- 43:34Speaker 1: training montage of him learning how to use all of
- 43:38Speaker 1: these different devil fruit powers that he's managing at the
- 43:41Speaker 1: same time, and how like maybe he accidentally calls on
- 43:45Speaker 1: the wrong one at the wrong time, Like you know,
- 43:49Speaker 1: if he absorbed Luf's power and he's like falling from
- 43:52Speaker 1: a building and he's like, it's cool, I'll just turn
- 43:54Speaker 1: to rubber and survive, and then he picks the wrong
- 43:56Speaker 1: thing and like breaks every bone in his body and
- 44:00Speaker 1: everybody's like, what the hell man, and he's like, I
- 44:02Speaker 1: thought I was doing it. But anyway, okay, so we
- 44:08Speaker 1: have we have got to We're barely into this at all.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 44:14Speaker 2: I mean it seems that a lot of happens. Why
- 44:21Speaker 2: because it is still drawn out. The Yes anime is
- 44:26Speaker 2: really bad with that. It is like, I mean the
- 44:29Speaker 2: manga was also slow, but the anime is even slower.
- 44:32Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, ok, you know, uh, we get to
- 44:38Speaker 1: see like him up against Akig and the fire v
- 44:45Speaker 1: Ice kind of moment here, and I also again another confession,
- 44:53Speaker 1: sorry about this everybody, but Loofy like puts a hand
- 44:57Speaker 1: over his chest and says that bastard one, and I
- 44:59Speaker 1: was like, oh right, he fucked Loofy up. Like I
- 45:03Speaker 1: completely forgot about the personal beef that Loufy has going
- 45:08Speaker 1: on with this dude, and it's not you know, this
- 45:14Speaker 1: guy is so what's the word I want? Athay? You
- 45:20Speaker 1: knew is weirdly like Jimbei in some ways in that
- 45:25Speaker 1: he is so serious and so sort of like intense,
- 45:31Speaker 1: you know, but I found him much more boring at first,
- 45:37Speaker 1: and then as things continued and his ability was just
- 45:41Speaker 1: like became more and more wild and out there. The
- 45:45Speaker 1: fists of lava coming from this guy really kind of
- 45:48Speaker 1: won me over. Now I'm starting to be like, all right,
- 45:52Speaker 1: you know what, let's see what we're doing with this guy,
- 45:54Speaker 1: because initially I was very much like, uh, this dude,
- 45:58Speaker 1: you know, lufy looking angry while he's eating food, truly
- 46:05Speaker 1: amazing animation. And we find out that Aokig was really
- 46:12Speaker 1: badly injured, couldn't even stand up, and Akayinu could have
- 46:17Speaker 1: killed him and didn't. He was merciful toward him in
- 46:20Speaker 1: a way that is kind of out of character. And
- 46:23Speaker 1: I'm really curious about that, Like, is it just sort
- 46:26Speaker 1: of the gentleman's agreement that we never said that this
- 46:29Speaker 1: was to the death so I'm not going to do that.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Is it that they had been kind of on the
- 46:34Speaker 1: same side for so long that he can't bring himself
- 46:37Speaker 1: to do it. I don't know, and I don't know
- 46:40Speaker 1: if it even matters, but I will say that, oh
- 46:46Speaker 1: I love that. Yes, let's have them be like exes
- 46:51Speaker 1: who are trying really hard to get along. But AOKG
- 46:57Speaker 1: being a free agent, now that is very very compelling
- 47:02Speaker 1: to me, I am extremely curious about that. Like, his
- 47:06Speaker 1: powers are so bananas. All I can ever think with
- 47:11Speaker 1: him is just like how anybody who has him by
- 47:17Speaker 1: their side. I'm not trying to say that they'd be unstoppable,
- 47:21Speaker 1: because clearly not. He lost this fight, but it is
- 47:26Speaker 1: he is such a I'm trying well, yeah, but like
- 47:35Speaker 1: it's also because of his weird attitude where he seems
- 47:39Speaker 1: to not really want to put himself out. You could
- 47:42Speaker 1: also see like thinking that you have an asset and
- 47:45Speaker 1: then it turns out not really so much because he
- 47:47Speaker 1: doesn't want to bother unless things get really bad, So
- 47:51Speaker 1: which could be kind of fun to watch somebody who's like, no, no, no,
- 47:55Speaker 1: I have the power to do the thing. But I
- 47:58Speaker 1: was up really late last night and I'd kind of
- 48:01Speaker 1: just like to sleep in this morning, So if you
- 48:02Speaker 1: could just take care of it yourself, I would like
- 48:04Speaker 1: him to join the crew. I would just like to say,
- 48:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Jimbay. We appreciate your application, and you certainly
- 48:12Speaker 1: have an impressive resume, and we respect you and hope
- 48:15Speaker 1: to you know, wish you very well in the future.
- 48:18Speaker 1: But Aukiji is somebody that's like I feel like he
- 48:23Speaker 1: would not only be a really fun power to have
- 48:26Speaker 1: in the group, but a personality that would be very
- 48:30Speaker 1: very fun to watch, especially up against somebody like Zorro,
- 48:36Speaker 1: who is also quite powerful and has his weird like
- 48:40Speaker 1: kind of lazy streak as well, but in a different way.
- 48:44Speaker 1: I would really enjoy seeing that together. So yeah, that's
- 48:48Speaker 1: that's my wish list.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like Soa will be like mad at
- 48:53Speaker 2: okich if for not training, you know, and I would
- 48:56Speaker 2: eat you will be like lazy, like like Soer at
- 48:58Speaker 2: least trains, but ok, you not even do that, and
- 49:01Speaker 2: so it will be there, yeah, like what the fact.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and then he'd be like, well, you're gonna lose
- 49:07Speaker 1: your abilities or something. And then okg would do something
- 49:10Speaker 1: completely opie and just piss Zoro off because he doesn't
- 49:14Speaker 1: he doesn't need to train. He can just do the thing,
- 49:18Speaker 1: which I'm sure would be very infuriating. So all right, Uh,
- 49:25Speaker 1: let's see, I'm trying to I'm trying to jump ahead
- 49:27Speaker 1: in this like conversation here. Oh yeah, this is when
- 49:32Speaker 1: we get the flashback of Teach and uh, the just
- 49:37Speaker 1: sort of refresh on what's going on with him and
- 49:42Speaker 1: the reminder about his whole power with the devil fruits,
- 49:46Speaker 1: and Jimby says, I worry for you the most, Loofy.
- 49:50Speaker 1: I know there's a great deal of bad blood between
- 49:53Speaker 1: you and teach. You must take care. And as he's
- 49:57Speaker 1: saying this with this very serious face, Lufy is just
- 50:00Speaker 1: off to the side, stuffing his face and not hearing
- 50:05Speaker 1: a word that he says. And this is when he
- 50:08Speaker 1: gets really mad and just starts yelling at Loofy. A
- 50:12Speaker 1: captain is supposed to have some idea of the situation.
- 50:16Speaker 1: What the hell, Chopper says, I thought the captain was
- 50:23Speaker 1: just supposed to goof off while the rest of the
- 50:26Speaker 1: crew looks out for him. I would like to remind
- 50:32Speaker 1: everybody that I have been saying that Lufy shouldn't be
- 50:35Speaker 1: the captain for some time now, and I stand by
- 50:39Speaker 1: that assessment. Chopper doesn't even know what a captain should do.
- 50:45Speaker 1: That is how fucked up he is at this job.
- 50:50Speaker 1: That's not great, sir.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Oh, I'm with you. I'm not like I know that
- 50:59Speaker 2: people out there who are like no, like blah blah
- 51:02Speaker 2: blah rolls off the captain say he does these and
- 51:04Speaker 2: that because what we've been golf as and captain's apparently wrong,
- 51:08Speaker 2: but I'm still he's still not a good captain, like
- 51:12Speaker 2: even yeah, like the semantics.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, yeah, I I feel like he could be
- 51:26Speaker 1: their their talent scout, they're pr guy. You know, there's
- 51:32Speaker 1: all kinds of titles that we could give Loofy and
- 51:35Speaker 1: and captain is just he just wants to say that
- 51:40Speaker 1: he is because of the ego of like I want
- 51:43Speaker 1: to be captain, but he doesn't actually want to do
- 51:46Speaker 1: any captain like jobs. He's not interested in that. So,
- 51:51Speaker 1: you know, Loofy is somebody who a lot of the
- 51:53Speaker 1: time ego feels like it's not a factor for him
- 51:56Speaker 1: at all the way it is for a lot of people.
- 51:58Speaker 1: But when it comes to being captain, that is the
- 52:00Speaker 1: one place where it's really like quite He's got like
- 52:05Speaker 1: an immature sort of approach to everything.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, like I'm seeing that in the flashback
- 52:15Speaker 2: with Sabo and Ace, you know, like they had like
- 52:17Speaker 2: a whole thing who is going to be captain? So
- 52:19Speaker 2: it was always there and yeah, children like childish behavior
- 52:25Speaker 2: is exactly, but that's fine. We love him exactly.
- 52:33Speaker 1: I just want everybody to like, can we all just
- 52:35Speaker 1: be honest about the fact that he's not good at
- 52:37Speaker 1: the job. It's all I'm asking. I am not saying
- 52:40Speaker 1: that I expect the plot to fire him. And I know,
- 52:44Speaker 1: you know, like I'm saying that everybody who is trying
- 52:47Speaker 1: to convince themselves that he's a good captain actually needs
- 52:50Speaker 1: to get fucking real. Stop it, you're lying yourself, you're
- 52:53Speaker 1: lying us. Knock it off, all right, So let's see,
- 53:01Speaker 1: I'm kinda okay. This is the part where Loofy just
- 53:06Speaker 1: sort of like sits up and looks around and says,
- 53:12Speaker 1: there's something weird going on. I think there's some kind
- 53:15Speaker 1: of monster here. And I fully thought that this was
- 53:20Speaker 1: like his using what is it called hockey, and but
- 53:27Speaker 1: both Sanji and Zorro also kind of stand up and
- 53:31Speaker 1: look around and agree with him. Are they using hockey too?
- 53:36Speaker 2: Now?
- 53:37Speaker 1: Is that what's being implied?
- 53:41Speaker 2: I think it has been said before, and I mean
- 53:43Speaker 2: they're like different kinds of hockeys. The one and that
- 53:48Speaker 2: they're using right now is called the observation hockey, and
- 53:52Speaker 2: it is basically exactly for that. It is like kind
- 53:54Speaker 2: of too obserradio surroundings, and in battle it is used
- 54:01Speaker 2: to dodge attacks like you see them.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Coming basically okay, okay, but.
- 54:06Speaker 2: It also can be used like in extreme form where
- 54:09Speaker 2: Kobe has it where he even can like hear their
- 54:12Speaker 2: thoughts or like people right when it's like an upper
- 54:17Speaker 2: level basically.
- 54:21Speaker 1: So, so I had I had totally last episode, like
- 54:30Speaker 1: last grouping of episodes when I recorded on it, I
- 54:34Speaker 1: fully meant to bring up what her caribou and then forgot,
- 54:41Speaker 1: and so him showing up here, I was like, God, damn,
- 54:43Speaker 1: I forgot to even mention this, but this dude is
- 54:51Speaker 1: so so creepy, Like yeah, so I'm just going to
- 54:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna'm gonn. I hesitate even to even like go here,
- 55:07Speaker 1: but I'm gonna do it because it just feels like
- 55:09Speaker 1: this is sort of what Odo was doing and I
- 55:12Speaker 1: can't not address it. So it's very clear like the
- 55:17Speaker 1: implications of sexual assault that are going on with the
- 55:20Speaker 1: way that he comes up on her when she's laying
- 55:23Speaker 1: in a bed and he has her all like wrapped
- 55:27Speaker 1: up and tied up so that she can't speak or
- 55:30Speaker 1: move or anything. And there's also like the creepiness of
- 55:34Speaker 1: him hanging out on the ceiling and like dripping on her,
- 55:39Speaker 1: which very much was giving like the kind of dripping
- 55:44Speaker 1: that I just felt like we were and it just
- 55:48Speaker 1: felt like it was just kind of a metaphor, that's
- 55:51Speaker 1: all I'm saying. And the expressions on Florian's face right now,
- 55:56Speaker 1: you guys really struggling to just be like, yes, yes,
- 56:00Speaker 1: I'm listening.
- 56:02Speaker 2: I mean, I fully agree, like I'm I'm you're not
- 56:06Speaker 2: telling me anything new. It is really astonishing. M nothing
- 56:14Speaker 2: in a good way. Nothing a good way, and it's.
- 56:18Speaker 1: It's just weird. Like with the uh fucking dude whose
- 56:22Speaker 1: name I always forget, that was like beating the shit
- 56:26Speaker 1: out of Nico Robin he thank you, he had such
- 56:32Speaker 1: a dumb name. He was very much like feeling like
- 56:40Speaker 1: it was. There was a sexual component to the way
- 56:42Speaker 1: that he was treating her as well, but it was
- 56:48Speaker 1: like a sexual violence that was sadistic, whereas with wet
- 56:54Speaker 1: hair Caribou it feels much more like like grease, sleazy,
- 57:01Speaker 1: perverted kind of sexual assault. It's just got a different
- 57:05Speaker 1: energy to it. And with his fucking tongue that comes
- 57:08Speaker 1: out and like wobble all, can we just fucking not please?
- 57:13Speaker 1: I really really don't like it all. The only thing
- 57:20Speaker 1: that makes this like bearable is how bad he is
- 57:24Speaker 1: at getting away with any of it.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Yeah, he doesn't. Luckily, he does not get away like
- 57:31Speaker 2: pretty much ever. Yeah, at least that at least we
- 57:36Speaker 2: have bad I don't like it, y'all.
- 57:39Speaker 3: I don't like it.
- 57:40Speaker 1: It's very uncomfortable. He's just so like weirdly utilized as
- 57:47Speaker 1: well in the story because he disappears for four and
- 57:52Speaker 1: five episodes at a stretch and then just pops up
- 57:55Speaker 1: somewhere again. So the.
- 57:59Speaker 2: It.
- 58:00Speaker 1: I just can't really get a handle on what we're
- 58:03Speaker 1: doing with this guy, because he's not our main villain. Yeah,
- 58:08Speaker 1: he's just sort of a stone in their shoe that
- 58:10Speaker 1: they keep having to deal with, you know. It's very odd.
- 58:17Speaker 1: And him also stealing a bunch of the Mermaids away
- 58:21Speaker 1: and everything like that element as well adds to this
- 58:25Speaker 1: sort of like ick factor because with span And it
- 58:31Speaker 1: felt very much like I have a grudge against Nico
- 58:34Speaker 1: Robin specifically, and I want to make an example out
- 58:37Speaker 1: of her because she made a fool out of me,
- 58:39Speaker 1: whereas with Caribou is just like, well, I just want
- 58:44Speaker 1: all the bitches I can get my hands on pretty much,
- 58:47Speaker 1: you know.
- 58:50Speaker 2: But he gets knocked away by Loofy luckily and like
- 58:56Speaker 2: the other two Hols are there. I love it. It's just
- 58:58Speaker 2: like one punch and later on, like we see him
- 59:02Speaker 2: just knocked out on the ground and.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Lufy like knocks him out and then takes a bite
- 59:08Speaker 1: of whatever he's holding and just as he's still here,
- 59:11Speaker 1: and there's just like it took him no effort. He's
- 59:14Speaker 1: not even like he's not even worked up about it.
- 59:19Speaker 1: And then uh we beho, she that's what Lufy calls her,
- 59:24Speaker 1: right like freaks out, hugging him and falling all over him,
- 59:29Speaker 1: thanking him, and he is just absolutely unmoved because it
- 59:35Speaker 1: seems like he doesn't It's it's almost like he doesn't
- 59:38Speaker 1: understand what this guy was trying to do. Fully, he's
- 59:44Speaker 1: just more like, what are you doing here? Get out?
- 59:46Speaker 1: And you know what I mean.
- 59:49Speaker 2: Yeah, he's unconcerned, but in his mind, as long he's there,
- 59:53Speaker 2: nothing will happen to her. Yeah, I feel like he
- 59:58Speaker 2: can be like confident in that. I agree, but he
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: cannot be save anybody from Nami, who is just like this.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: There's this whole setup with this whole gold that was
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: stolen by caribou, and the king is basically like Wow,
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: we don't need it anymore. If you want to, you
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: can have it. And I'm just like, you could rebuild
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: a lot of things, the things that got destroyed.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: But okay, thank you, Florian, but we shut down the
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: whole Fishman district. Maybe you could have infused some of
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: this capital into revitalizing a whole section of It's fine, fine,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: but thank you. I appreciate you mentioning it. Thank you.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but a at least the straw Hads well get it.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Or maybe they don't get it, as we see later
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: on with the deep that they.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: They didn't make it. Move you made it. Let's let's
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: be very clear about it. They didn't make that deal.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: This is not their idea, all right. So let's see
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: him trying to find the spot. Oh god, I forgot
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: about how there's like a tower that's just been sliced
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: in half. And it was Zoro and uh, what's the
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: name of the little starfish? And he's like, oh no,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: it was Zora, Papa, that's right. He was sacking and
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: slashing all over the place. So it was just like,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: why don't you keep your fucking mouth shut?
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Would be an accomplice?
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: He said, Okay, so this is when we find out
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: that Hordy and his accomplices have somehow gotten out of
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: their handcuffs. And I will tell you, kiddos, I was
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: irritated because I thought what we were doing was going
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: back to fighting with Horty again. I really thought this
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: was like because what we find out is, yeah, they
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: got out of their handcuffs, but they're still in a
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: jail cell. They're still like in a dungeon, so it
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: doesn't matter that they got their handcuffs off. But they
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: made it sound very much like they've escaped. And y'all know,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I am tired of Horty. I was tired of him
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: almost right away, and I had no interest in doing
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: more of this, And I was so relieved when that
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: turns out to not be what's happening here at all.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Have you seen the uh, the Disney animated Aladdin?
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: The animated one?
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, yes, I haven't seen a live actually in one.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: I couldn't bring myself to do it. The animated one is.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: So good, you know, honestly, so I don't know.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Yeah, And they and they set this up really well
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: because they have Hordy like in extreme darkness with just
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: his eyes showing and his like silhouette at one point
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: as he's threatening all of them, so you really think
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: something has happened, and then the camera pulls out and
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: we see that him and all of these other dudes
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: are withered, gray old men. Hordy is like leaning on
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: a staff. And the reason I asked about Aladdin is
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: there is a point where an old man like Jafarre
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: pretends to be an old man in the prison where
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Aladdin is being kept after he's a and like lures
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: him outside because he's trying to get him to open
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: the Cave of wonders. And Horty looks just like ja'far
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: in disguise. It's a very very similar sort of look.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: And I kept thinking, like even the way he's standing
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: and everything, and they're complaining about how their backs her,
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: and Horty is like managing to still, what's the word
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: I want? He's like ignoring the state that he's in.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: The thing is if nobody else can see it, sir,
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: what do you think you're gonna do?
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: He is in denial, and I don't know the flameous
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: of rage are ever burning something like that.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: That's true. I do love Zeo, of course, the obligatory
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: I do this on purpose. This is what I wanted
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: to have happen. Zeo, baby, get real, stop it. I
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: do like him though I can't help that he's funny.
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say real quick, this is another part
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: where I just feel like, I mean, I like that
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: they get old like that there is like this drawback
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: to to like this power up. But I also feel
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: like this again a symbolism from older being like basically,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: this is is what will happen to you if you
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: stay racist your whole life kind of oh like, you
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: will die old and bitter and have accomplished nothing, you know,
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: like like I feel again, let's me reading into this.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: I'm saying again, I'm not sure if any of this
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: is correct, just my read on those things.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: I accept them. Yeah, well you know that's that's perfectly
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: adequate for me, and yeah, let's go with that, thank you.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: So then we find out that the pills, because I
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: had been saying like earlier, where did he even get
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: these from? And it's part of the whole thing with
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: like the tamate box that was that had disappeared and
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: it was hoardy back like ten years ago when they
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: I think that they vanished and I guess he had
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: just been sort of hoarding them, hoarding the hoarder. I
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: but it's not really like so I'm not I'm gonna
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: just read the actual like, what do you call it?
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: The dialogue here? Yeah, So the energy steroid and the
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: pill from inside the to Tommy box, they're one and
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: the same, aren't they? Or tamate box priceless artifact passed
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: down for generations. The pills hidden inside were highly valuable,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: but ten years ago someone stole them from us. We
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: failed to catch the culprit. His majesty was concerned that
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: a scandal might break out, so we closed the case. Actually, Horty,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: I think that happened around the time you left the Army.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Interesting and Horty is just like, yeah, of course it
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: was fucking me. Yeah. I took him and I like,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: we don't really get much of an explanation on where
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: those pills come from. We just get told that they
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: existed and that they were like priceless and very old.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: And it was a bit it was like it was
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: sort of like an explanation, but not really enough of
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: one to make it satisfying. So I was very mixed
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: on how I felt about this because I was almost
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: like you, maybe just don't want to explain it then,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: because this isn't enough unless we get more later at
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: some point, you know.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Like was that maybe maybe we'll like again, we have
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: always things from the past coming back, so.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. But yeah, it was just the whole
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: I was thinking that we were getting more of a story,
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: and it was just sort of like, oh, yeah, those
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: things that we had that disappeared, you know.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: Okay, so that's like this, Uh, the the hoardy thing
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: takes a while getting through it, but eventually the episode
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: ends with this little lion man that's a little reference
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: to a famous song if anybody out there caught that,
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: who has come to the district where they make candy
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: and is demanding that they pay up their monthly installment
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: to Big Mama, who is a very large woman and
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: when I say large, I don't just mean fat, I
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: mean humongous in every sense woman who has a big,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: sweet tooth and also like acid spit.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: It seems like.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: I think it's meant to be like her stomach acid
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: is going because she's so hungry that it makes her
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: spit dangerous to those around her.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: And your guess as good as any. Mm hm, I am.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna say I yes, do you want to say something? No?
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: Please, please go ahead.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: I'm gonna say I like it, Like, I mean, I
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: just like the introduction of her in this manner. I
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: just feel like this is the first time we have
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: heard of her before just the passing. This is like
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: we see her and when not Luvie does not see her,
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: but we kind of see her in shadow. Yeah right,
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: I like, So, I mean, did you find her impressive
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: or like?
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: It's so this is the thing that I have. I've
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: expressed this another point in this show, and I can't
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: remember what the character was, but anytime that I come
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: across this, it's very frustrating because it's so common. But
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: when you've got a fat villain and they have to
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: have a superpower, it so frequently has to do with
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: bile and vomit and like eating as oh, and it's
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: just it's so first of all, uninspired, and secondly, it's
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: it's just like a very ugly thing to see as
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: a fat person depicted all the time as just like, oh, well,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: you're basically a monster, and you're like those are the
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: almost only fat characters that are in a lot of properties.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: In one piece, we've got more fat people like mixed
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: in because we've got people like Jimbei who aren't even
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: like humans, you know. But in a lot of properties,
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: you know, everybody else is slender, and then there's like
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: the one and so in that respect, I was just like, Wow,
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: we are really just doing this exact thing that I
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: have talked about, you know, So I don't enjoy that.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: I can't help. But like her weird pirate flag, you know,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: this is the same thing that I ran to with Olvida,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: is that if she has style, I will give her that.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: The whole vibe of her ship and everything. It's just
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: very It's I like the branding. I am a sucker
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: for marketing, and I feel like that was done pretty well.
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: But in terms of this overall character, my like immediate
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: gut response was just like, oh god, you know.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fair, I would say, But we have not
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: seen the last of her, I guess I can't say.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: So let's see what we have.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: And this this lion guy who is here on her behalf.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: Like I have to again, I know, I have to
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: let go of this to a degree, But this universe
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: is so very confusing with the way that animals sometimes talk,
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: but then other times they don't, And when they do,
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: people are always shocked. But they shouldn't be because there
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: seems to be a fair number of talking animals around,
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: So why are we ever surprised by it? Like people
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: respond in a shocked way to Chopper a lot. But
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: we've got Papago, We've got this guy. We've also got
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: like that dude from the Marines that was like half rat,
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: you know, like he was like a human but with
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: a rat nose. What about the marry you know, he
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: had the freakin sheep's head. Like, I don't feel like
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: I have a good grasp on what we're doing here.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: This is one of the things, like some things you
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: really got used to. But even back then when Mary
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: showed up, you were like, guys, what what happened to you?
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: And still like five hundred episodes later, like this is
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: one of the few things that you are consistent on.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: I can tell, And I mean it's a fair question.
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: It is a fair question. Yeah.
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: I'm not trying to like demand an explanation exactly. I
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: just really want to point it out every time that
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: it happens, because I feel like it's a very easy
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: thing to not pay much attention to and just take
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: it as it comes and accept it. And while I
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: encourage that in casual viewing for my job, I must
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: like make a point of just what is this though? Why?
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: And not only can he talk, he's like in a
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: fucking suit, like a three piece, with a pocket watch,
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: like the whole thing. It's a weird sort of vibe
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: because like him, combined with the other dude with the
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: French accent, it seems like we're going for a certain
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: theme in terms of their look that I don't know
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: if it's supposed to be sort of like nineteen twenties
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: or turn of the century or what. And you know,
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: maybe I'll see more of her henchmen and start to
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: really kind of get the picture there. But yeah, it's
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: just it's very strange.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: It is. But I'm gonna say the outer dude his
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: name is Tamago. Yeah, Tamago is his name. Like the
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: French street I just really like his design. I just
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: have to say, I don't know what it is, yeah, true, true,
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: Like these super long legs, the act I don't know
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: why there is an egg and the teacup had literally
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: te like, I just love it. I don't know, it's
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: just crazy and I love it.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: It is very, very weird. I really really enjoyed his accent,
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: like it's you know, the most over the top silly
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: put on accent and combined with the mustache, it definitely
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: was like giving Puaro a few times. Uh, he uses
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: a lot of like, you know, little French phrases dotted
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: into things the way that Puaro does. Anybody out there
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: who's a BBC Puio fan raise your hand, because I
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: fucking love that show so much. But yeah, so I do,
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: really And I also like the fact that, like eventually,
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: when Loofy takes the phone and is just like I
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: ate all the candy, that dude is the one to
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: step up and be like, well, what if we just
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: took the money and we could get you candy later,
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: I could get you something on the store and the
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: way home. Like he's so reasonable and that is so
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: unexpected with a character like this that I really was
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: sort of won over by him. So yeah, that's that's
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: where I stand on him. But yeah, this, uh, basically
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: they're taking protection money, like you know, the mob comes
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: around and is like a nice story you've got here
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: be a shame if something happened to it and the.
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: Like.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: They didn't set aside what they needed to keep her happy.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: They just either Letlofy eat all of it or didn't
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: realize how fast he was eating, and so when they
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: looked up they realized, oh shit, we don't have enough.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: I think that's supposed to be kind of what happened.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: I would because Louvie eats an ungodly amount. Nobody is
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: ready how much he consumes.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: That's true, Louviy, why are you like? This screwed up
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: this whole racket they had going.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: And I love that. I'm sorry, I loved that picks
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: up the phone because what I love about louvi Again,
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: we talked a little shit about him before, but I
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: love that he is driving the plot like that is
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: something that I love at him as a main character.
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: The plot is not happening to him. He makes the
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: plot happen like like he is happening true. You know, yeah,
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: I just love it. I just love it. It is
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: like writing wise, it is great, and like him as
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: his personality and everything, I just find it delightful. Even
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: though he's talking to like one of the most badass
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: pirates on the planet apparently, and is she talking her?
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I did sort of enjoy the fact that he
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: just straight up tells her like, yeah, I ate all
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: of that shit, That's why it's gone. He doesn't care
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: if she knows he did it. He's just so confident
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: in his own abilities and also doesn't really fully think
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: through the Uh. The long term consequence is because Lufi
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: is a man of the moment. He is somebody who
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: lives at the present. So yeah, that's right. Because he
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: comes out and says that he picked down and ate
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: it all, and that Yon is just standing outside and
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: when he's yelling about how he has he's eaten it all,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: everybody's being like, can you just shut up? Can you
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: not say that super loud in front of this particular dude,
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: And the Lion recognizes him. He has like a little
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: rolodex with him that he flips through and sees Lufy's
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: face and is like, oh, this is a pirate. What
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: are you even doing here? And I'm like, is this
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: why does why does he have a rolodex?
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: Oh? I feel like they just go as to how
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: organized they are. I would say, you.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Know, okay, Okay, yeah, I see that. It's so like,
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: it's so because I'm so used to people like standing
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: around and then they look and there's a poster pinned
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: up somewhere, you know, that's how they But he like
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: pulls a little thing out of his pocket and it's
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: just flipping through it, like who's this guy? Now? As
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: if he's fully expect anytime somebody shows up that he
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: should be able to look them up somehow, like he's
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: got a link into the FBI database or something facial
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: recognition software. So, oh my god, this lion lifts his
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: glasses at one point and his eyes are just two
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: black dots. And I don't know why. That was the
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: creepiest thing. I really didn't like it. It's like he's got.
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: No oh I'm alone. Mm hmmm, mm hmmm.
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: I don't know where she went. Mm hmm.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: I'm terribly.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: Hello, I cannot hear you. Can you hear me? Okay?
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Okay? Can you hear me now?
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: Yes? Now, I can hear you?
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: Okay, Yes, I'm sorry. I was like clicking between the
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: tabs to go look at the and I clicked the
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: X on this tab and it asked, are you sure?
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: And I said no, I'm not to stay, and it
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: just went black. Anyway, Oh no, I said no, I'm
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: not sure, So why did you why did you make
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: me leave? I don't know. I don't know what happened.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. Anyway, Reminder to self that toward the
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: end of this episode, I have to cut that part out.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: What was Oh? I was saying that the lion's eyes
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: were very creepy.
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: I don't like.
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: Well, yeah, i'm the lion's eyes. I'm not sure if
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: it's supposed to be cute, funny or creepy, Like I
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: cannot decide. I mean, I don't I'm I'm with you.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: Actually I find it more creepy than anything. But I
- 1:23:23Speaker 2: don't know, like the reaction of the townsfolks is like
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: he has so small eyes, or like like it's supposed
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: to be cute and I'm like, it's not cute cut
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: but or like what was that? What is the movie
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: called Caroline? No, like where they have like.
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: Horror line with they are that buttons? Oh yeah, m yeah.
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: Kind of reminds me of that in a weird way.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: I don't like.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: I don't like the I think it was I don't
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: know if it's cute exactly that they're suggesting, but the
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: impression that I got was sort of like, his eyes
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: are so unimpressive compared to what you would expect from
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: Halaian that when they say something like, oh, look at
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: those little eyes, it's more like kind of condescending, like,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: oh my god, look at those you know what I mean?
- 1:24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that sounds better than mine, probably that that's right
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: what I think.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: But yeah, I really this whole like new grouping of
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: characters is so much more interesting than Hordy at the
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: very least, you know, I have my issues with this
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: lady's depiction, but at least we don't just have some
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: like the The thing with Hordy that was supposed to
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: be interesting was that he was a fish man and
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: his cohorts were different types of sharks, and to see
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: what we were doing with that, but it failed to
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: be interesting in the context of being on Fishman Island
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: with a bunch of other fishmen. It was interesting with
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: our long when we were up on the surface because
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: these were the first fishmen we'd ever encountered, and every
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: time we met a new one, I was just like,
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: what the fuck, you know, But because we're surrounded by
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: weird half fish people. Now, they failed to be that compelling,
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: and they also didn't have like a unifying theme to
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: their look except for the fact that they were all sharks,
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: so they just kind of felt bland, you know. So
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: these guys have they've got a real like fucking vibe
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: to them at the very least.
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: Definitely, And I lossed one of the quicks. Say, what's
- 1:25:52Speaker 2: it called the holdy Pirates? Maybe all the reason why
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: they're not so impressive is by design because it's after
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: time escape and yeah, double like have easy to defeat
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: geek enemies. But yeah, I don't that makes sense. But no,
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: I love like the there's this introduction to the big
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: man Pirates that we get here. I think also when
- 1:26:19Speaker 2: she is on the phone with Lufy, she's like, he
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: says his name and she says, oh, you Garb's grandson, so.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, she knows exactly who he is mm hmm.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: And I always find it interesting.
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: That makes sense with the Rolotax, like what you like
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: you were saying, they're so organized and the rolodex, so
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: like her knowing exactly who he's related to and everything
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: that goes together. I like that okay, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: I'm sorry I interrupted you.
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: No, no, I don't just I just like like that.
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: And I don't know if you catch that. But apparently
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: she also ate people or like she was talking to
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: something and that something got eaten mm hmmm, and it
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: was thinking like at least we only hear it, like
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: it's only sound happening. But that's how I took it.
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: Is that did you took it that way as well?
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: Or yes? Because she said, like she's talking about the candy,
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: we hear voices that are like sweet candies coming love candy,
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: can't wait to have some, and she basically it seems
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: like takes exception to the idea that they think they're
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: going to get to eat some of her candy, like
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: who the hell do you think you are? And so
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: she says, you can eat it from inside my stomach
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: and then you just hear screaming. So yeah, it suggested
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: like she eats them as punishment because she doesn't want
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: to share, which has never been more relatable, like, frankly,
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: I would also do this, don't. I'm very much like
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: Joey from Friends. Joey doesn't share food and I don't.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: This is something that is particularly irritating for me with
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: Owen because I will make all like this, this meal
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: that will last us a few days with leftovers, and
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: I will be like, I'm gonna heat myself up something, babe,
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: you want any No, I'm good, And then I heat
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: it up and it smells unbelievable because I'm a very
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: good cook. And I sit down next to him on
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: the couch and all of a sudden, here's a no, wow,
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: that actually smells pretty good. That looks good too? Is
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: it good? Go get your own. Don't fucking stop even
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: looking at my bowl. Get out of here right now.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, No, I get what I get really really
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: mad about it is like when just people take food,
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: you know, like that is god like they like. And
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: for example, like one time I had like French French fries,
- 1:29:07Speaker 2: like we were in the restaurant and my aunt just
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: takes some and I'm just like, no, that's like literally,
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: we not And it was kind of like a not
- 1:29:18Speaker 2: a whole whole deal, but it was kind of like no,
- 1:29:21Speaker 2: like and if you actually would ask me, like, hey,
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: can I have some fries? I would give her some
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: because I love it right exactly, but just don't take
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: them like what the fund is?
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: Just taking food is like for me, shifts how I
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: see you as a person, Like entirely, I will go
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: from being like I'm about ninety percent I'm liking this guy,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: you take food off my plate, but in half forty
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: five like I I m hm. And also the other
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: one that I really I get irritated about. And this
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: is sort of a perspective thing, but I stand by it.
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: When you get appetizers at a restaurant mm hm, and
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: you get one for yourself, and it's the type of
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: thing like say, fries fries. Can I have a fry? Reasonable,
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: there's you know, a pile of thirty fries. Sure, you
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: can have a fry. But if you get like three
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: potato skins and somebody is like, oh, can I stand
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: one of those potatoes? What the thirty percent of this
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: overall dish of food? Absolutely fucking not. You can't just
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: take one?
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: What do you mean.
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: Anyway?
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: No? I I fully agree. That's why I'm always want
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: like when they don't ride like the mound, like what's
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: this other one like.
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: Like the yeah m.
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Hm, and it's just like stands there and I'm like, yeah,
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: but how many this is important. I'm sorry, I need
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: to know or like we had to tape, need to
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: know how many pieces that means, you know, pieces of bread.
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: Yeah, because there's nothing worse than being like, oh, we'll
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: get this for the table of four, and then they
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: bring it and there's three. How the fuck do you
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: divide that up? Like now, this is just a big
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: pain in the ass. Yeah, I completely agree. Oh god, anyway, guys,
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: I know that nobody like gets as mad as I
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: do about this, but I just can't help the reaction
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: it feels. I'm I am not a sharer on some
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: For some things, I will share any like, no problem.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: But anyway, I.
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: Don't have a problem with sharing, just like, yeah, don't
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: take it without asking a big no. No.
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: Oh my god, I forgot about the fact that Lufy
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: just bursts out laughing at this line. Like he starts
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: off at first just saying it's hard to take you seriously,
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: and then the lion lifts his glasses to kind of
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: threaten him, and that's when Lufy really loses it and
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: starts cracking up in his face. And yeah, here comes
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: Tomogo from the side and he's talking about a tea party. Look, guys,
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest here. As much as this character,
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: like this fat woman with acid spit is pushing a
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: lot of buttons for me. Also the fact that she
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: doesn't like to share food and she's gonna have a
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: tea party. I'm really really getting sucked in. I can't
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: help it. Like that is one hundred percent my vibe
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: very much, So I can't help it.
- 1:32:38Speaker 2: I cannot help you either, Like what do you want
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: me to do? Right? All right? But I enjoyed it,
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: I mean, your your reaction to all of this, because
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: I was. I mean, I know we don't have a
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: lot of time left, but it is.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: This.
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: How do I say that? This arc war is like
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: a what to call it? It is one of the
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: worst ones. So I'm just gonna say it like that.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: It is not really a great one.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: And I mean Hoardy or the one that's coming.
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: No, no, no, the Horty one. I like this, okay,
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: And it's just like a light at the end of
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: the tunnel is opening up.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's really sad to hear. Like I'm
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: just thinking back to how excited I got at the
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: prospect of going to Fishman Island and how cool I
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: thought it would be, And it feels like there was
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: so much potential to do something really interesting that got
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: kind of squandered. Like we had some stuff that was
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: cool with the big bubble and the way that like
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: you know, you have to deal with sometimes being out
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: in the air and sometimes being underwater and creating space
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: for everybody, and I thought that was neat, But like
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: I just really pictured a lot more interaction with like
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: an ocean environment, Like there would be fish that we're
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: swimming around and we see even like in the background,
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: but they're not really like part of things. It's not.
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: The town just kind of mostly feels like a regular
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: town on land in a lot of ways. And even
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: like the fight between Loofy and Hordy, I had expected
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: that if we were going to have fights underwater, they
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: would be like, oh, we're hiding behind giant coral or
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: seashells or something, you know what I mean. And it's
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: just out in the water, like just in open space.
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: So yeah, it's a bit of a bummer. I really
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: thought we were gonna be doing a little bit more
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: with this sort of in the way that we did
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: with the Sky Island, because I felt like there was
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: more of that, yeah.
- 1:34:56Speaker 2: He went out there, but I also day like for
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: a first time, you were this means nothing. But this
- 1:35:05Speaker 2: arc is actually also on a rewatch. I like it
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: a lot more, and not just because of what happens here,
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: but because of what is common in the next like
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: hundreds and hundreds of episodes, because again, this is like
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: the first arc after the time skip, So once again
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: there is like way more set up here than you
- 1:35:31Speaker 2: realize the first time around, like way more seats are
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: planted here. Then you can clog at the first watching
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: and when you come back you're like, oh, okay, I
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: see what started here, or like what foreshadowing was happening here?
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: You know, okay, But.
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: For again, that means nothing to somebody who watches it
- 1:35:54Speaker 2: for the first time, of.
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: Course, yeah, I mean, and there is some there times
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: where that can really still feel like it's a how
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: to say this. I just finished reading the Court of
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: Thorns and Roses series, and the first book I really
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: did not like the first time I read it, but
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: once I got to the second book, it was so
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: much better. And it couldn't have been as good if
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: you didn't suffer through the first book, So it made
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: it feel like, Okay, you know what, Ultimately there's a
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: good payoff to this, and sometimes that's not how you feel.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: Even when you get to the point where it's supposedly
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: paying off, you're like, that really wasn't entirely worth it?
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: So you know, we'll see hopefully. I'm like, no, okay,
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: that was worth it ultimately, who knows.
- 1:36:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just gonna ask, like me before the finish,
- 1:36:51Speaker 2: unless you want to say something about the episodes that
- 1:36:54Speaker 2: it is left. But I feel like we no, I
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: think that.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: I'm yeah, yeah, go aheay me with that question.
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: Yeah, just in general, like, what do you think will
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: I'm going to ask this, will there prediction the prediction
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: come true or not that Madame Carley had of Louvis
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: being surrounded by flames in Fisherman Island.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm glad you brought that up because I was
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: confused that we never have that. Yeah.
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: Well, basically my question is what's a prediction with the fishmen?
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: What is going to happen further in the story.
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: Like with them, I genuinely don't know what to expect because,
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: like my first instinct had been once this is done,
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: what we're leaving. But with the reveal of the princess
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: being this weapon. I don't feel like that is what
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: we're gonna do. That doesn't really make sense now. So
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: I and the flames, like I'm assuming is a okhegee
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: being involved somehow that like, and yet it's like fishman
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: islands like underwater. I feel like fire shouldn't be that
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: big a problem for them. Frankly, and him coming down here,
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: I don't see it. But I also am unclear on
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: how like he If he is absolute justice, I guess
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: he's the type that would just pursue Loofy to the
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: ends of the earth, like literally and just be like,
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: I gotta I gotta find him, and I gotta just
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: take care of this fucking guy once and for all.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: So I am assuming that there's gonna be some sort
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: of showdown, but I don't think he's gonna destroy the island.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: I think she just saw him in flames and was
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: just like, oh, that's what that means, which, in my opinion,
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: is very irresponsible. As a seer, you don't just make
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: snap judgments like that.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: So, by the way, I feel like we they said
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: it one time, but she is our long sister.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: Actually, oh my god, what did they say that. I
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: don't remember that.
- 1:39:18Speaker 2: One time that said it. She is the younger sister
- 1:39:21Speaker 2: of alone. It is not really that important, but it
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: is kind of yeah, interesting family. I guess.
- 1:39:31Speaker 1: What that's bonkers? Why why? Why do that?
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: It is really like an it is an oftend comment
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: at some point. I feel like, you know, we must
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: have asked it. It had to be said at this
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: point at some point because it was like around her
- 1:39:53Speaker 2: introduction a little later after her introduction.
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: Man, yeah, I do not remember that at all. That's funny. Well,
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: I guess that's about it. M Do you have any
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: further comments that you want to make or anything that
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: you want to plug or anything like that.
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: Well, just still thank you for watching it. I still
- 1:40:15Speaker 2: hope that you're enjoying it, even though, like we have
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: been a couple of rough episodes, but I hope it's
- 1:40:20Speaker 2: not too much of a pain.
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: No, it's certainly like there have definitely been war SARCs
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: for sure. And what's the space that got killed in
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: the first season. I'm so delighted the way they handled that.
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: It was great.
- 1:40:41Speaker 2: No, and and one other thing I want to plug.
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: I don't know, like you guys, I have started or
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: I'm going to start being a dungeon master and oh
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: cool for dungeon and dragons. And it's not like I'm
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: and I'm just on my Instagram, which is south dot
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: Art where I usually drew pictures, but I have not
- 1:41:06Speaker 2: done it. Why so you can go and following. I
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: basically I basically documented a little bit how I become
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: a dungeon master now because it was like a whole
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: like I just kind of it happened, and now I
- 1:41:19Speaker 2: have to prepare our first first session is in like
- 1:41:22Speaker 2: a month, and I have to figure out how this works.
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: I mean I played D and D before, but never
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: as a dungeon master.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: It's a lot of work. Owen, Yeah, Owen was doing
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: it for a while and he finally was just like,
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: you know, I've ben I just don't like being in charge.
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: I like to just show up and do my thing.
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: And he was just like, I just can't. This is
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: so much work. So it's not for everybody, but I
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: think it's always a good thing to just do once
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: so that you fully appreciate the amount of work that
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: goes into planning these campaigns. All right, well, good for you.
- 1:42:03Speaker 2: Yeah, So if you want to see how I handle
- 1:42:05Speaker 2: it and go and follow me.
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: All right, all right, guys, we'll check them out South
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: dot Art. Right, there's a period, okay, cool, all right,
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: Thank you guys again so much. Thank you Florian for
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: commissioning this and for joining me. It's always very fun
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: to have you on. Appreciate you a lot, and also
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: our patients and me having to reschedule things over and
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: over and over and over again. All right, everybody, until
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: next time to the lou motherfuckers. That was an Unspoiled
