- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, Nathan Cavaliery here, we're up for a chat
- 0:03Speaker 1: about my latest tour, which is a storytelling theater show
- 0:06Speaker 1: called Growing Pains.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Fantastic Nathan, thanks for joining us today.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Run I pleasure, Thanks for your time, well.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Pleasure as well.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Does you say you were set to and bark on
- 0:14Speaker 3: a Victorian and New deouth Wales record, Going Pains, The
- 0:17Speaker 3: Nathan Cavaliery Story, which starts in The Rabbit on June
- 0:21Speaker 3: twentieth and finishes in Avoca Beach, New deelth Wales. I
- 0:24Speaker 3: love ever twenty eighth mates, so it's not far off. Now,
- 0:26Speaker 3: how are you feeling?
- 0:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good. I mean, this is a
- 0:29Speaker 1: new space for me. Even normally I get up on
- 0:31Speaker 1: stage and I spend the whole time playing music. I
- 0:34Speaker 1: still tell stories, but this is a storytelling style show
- 0:38Speaker 1: even though I've got music in it, and I'm telling
- 0:42Speaker 1: a lot of these experiences just first person with all
- 0:45Speaker 1: of the details like I'm reliving it and yeah, very
- 0:50Speaker 1: it's scary but also equally exciting.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It is. So it's like.
- 0:55Speaker 3: To say, it's more than just a normal run of
- 0:56Speaker 3: live shows, mate, It's more of a storytelling thing.
- 0:59Speaker 2: So where did they idea come from?
- 1:01Speaker 1: Well, when I got back into it, I was actually
- 1:04Speaker 1: just starting to share my experiences like growing up on tour,
- 1:08Speaker 1: playing with all these amazing legends, but also making sense
- 1:11Speaker 1: of life along the way and some of the challenges
- 1:14Speaker 1: I went through. And it's getting a lot of feedback
- 1:16Speaker 1: from members of the audience saying that they loved the songs,
- 1:19Speaker 1: but they really loved the stories and wanted more of
- 1:22Speaker 1: them and suggested I write a book, and I just,
- 1:26Speaker 1: I think, just because I've lived this life, so it's
- 1:29Speaker 1: not it just feels pretty normal to me, And I thought, well,
- 1:33Speaker 1: I don't want to I want to write a book.
- 1:35Speaker 1: It feels a little bit premature. But they were barking
- 1:38Speaker 1: at me for a long time, so I thought, all right, well,
- 1:40Speaker 1: what didn't I try something different and bring it to
- 1:43Speaker 1: the stage and create a live show out of it.
- 1:46Speaker 2: So is it just you and the guitar stories or
- 1:48Speaker 2: is it video use there?
- 1:50Speaker 1: Like, Yeah, we have a couple of moments where there's
- 1:53Speaker 1: archival footage, some rare stuff that is I don't think
- 1:56Speaker 1: ever being made public, particularly me playing with be King
- 2:00Speaker 1: at Madison Square Garden, which is quite special to discover
- 2:03Speaker 1: and watch and it's been long enough now that I'm
- 2:06Speaker 1: not embarrassed by it.
- 2:11Speaker 3: There's lots to cover there though, bro, Like, Okay, what
- 2:13Speaker 3: was the process for selecting because I say, you would
- 2:16Speaker 3: actually leave a lot of stuff out otherwise it'll be
- 2:18Speaker 3: a twenty four hour show.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, I think it all came down to the point.
- 2:23Speaker 1: The point of the show really dictated which stories to tell,
- 2:26Speaker 1: and I didn't want it. I didn't want it to
- 2:28Speaker 1: be a show that's just rattling off all of my
- 2:31Speaker 1: career highlights. I wanted it. I wanted to tell these
- 2:34Speaker 1: stories in a way that broke it down into fundamentals
- 2:38Speaker 1: that were relatable for people. So it's not just about
- 2:41Speaker 1: entertaining people, it's about having them walk away and hopefully
- 2:43Speaker 1: feeling inspired and maybe even a bit more understood. So
- 2:46Speaker 1: that's why I talk a fair bit about the challenges
- 2:49Speaker 1: that came with that level of success and what I learned,
- 2:53Speaker 1: and even the darkness just just going through some mental
- 2:56Speaker 1: health challenges and how I was able to take those
- 3:00Speaker 1: steps out of that darkness and what it taught me.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 3: The Prince release calls it a raw and honors show mates,
- 3:06Speaker 3: So there's nothing really taboo, is there like you've been
- 3:10Speaker 3: through some massive highs, you've been through some pretty deep loads,
- 3:13Speaker 3: Like you're not just blotting over the bad things, like
- 3:16Speaker 3: actually go in depth and talk about everything.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, I mean we don't learn from the winds, right,
- 3:24Speaker 1: Our biggest lessons have learned from our failures or where
- 3:27Speaker 1: we've fallen short if you want to, probably a better
- 3:30Speaker 1: way to reframe it. And I think for me personally,
- 3:34Speaker 1: when I was going through tough times, it was exacerbated
- 3:39Speaker 1: by being surrounded by people who were quite like surface level,
- 3:43Speaker 1: who didn't share the depths of their life and what
- 3:45Speaker 1: they had been through for me to then go, wow,
- 3:48Speaker 1: I'm not alone here. So when I'm up on stage
- 3:53Speaker 1: for growing Pains, when we go deep and we go
- 3:56Speaker 1: to those challenges, we really go there and I'm not
- 3:58Speaker 1: holding back, And which also made it quite a challenging
- 4:04Speaker 1: show to write as well, because I had to dig
- 4:06Speaker 1: up parts of the past that I buried and I
- 4:09Speaker 1: haven't revisited for a long time. But then with that
- 4:14Speaker 1: came Catharsis.
- 4:15Speaker 2: So along those lines, how that difficult was it for you?
- 4:18Speaker 3: Like, I know most of the people out there just
- 4:21Speaker 3: see the good side of rock life.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And rife on the road and stuff like that. But
- 4:25Speaker 2: you're covering things that some people might be confronted by.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So that's definitely got to be confronting to you as well.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Was it difficult, Well, going through it was definitely difficult
- 4:35Speaker 1: telling it, not so much. I don't know where I
- 4:40Speaker 1: I don't know where I got it from in terms
- 4:42Speaker 1: of being comfortable to just just share my whatever that
- 4:47Speaker 1: experience is. Maybe I'm I think maybe going through success
- 4:53Speaker 1: as a kid and all the shit I copped for it,
- 4:57Speaker 1: I was used to just feeling on the outside and
- 5:00Speaker 1: developing a type of confidence within myself that didn't depend
- 5:03Speaker 1: so much on what people thought about me and and
- 5:07Speaker 1: and it's for that reason why I'm open to just sharing.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I'm talking to the people who who want to hear
- 5:12Speaker 1: it as well. So you know, we're all just human
- 5:16Speaker 1: at the end of the day, right, trying to make
- 5:18Speaker 1: sense of life and do our best.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Yeah, they give us, give us, give us a story
- 5:23Speaker 3: of life on the road.
- 5:24Speaker 1: And it's in the show Ooh Life on the Road. Well,
- 5:29Speaker 1: it's there's some hilarious moments. I will say, this is
- 5:33Speaker 1: not all deep. I like I was going through puberty
- 5:37Speaker 1: while I was in front of the cameras, and you
- 5:40Speaker 1: can imagine if you if you remember puberty, it's an
- 5:43Speaker 1: awkward time where the hormones are just absolutely hijacking everything
- 5:48Speaker 1: in your sense of self. And I had so many
- 5:50Speaker 1: fails because I had this burning desire to to meet
- 5:53Speaker 1: girls and and but I just kept failing over and
- 5:56Speaker 1: over again. And and so I share some of those stories,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and I mean, we're talking about some really embarrassing moments
- 6:05Speaker 1: that are only funny in reflection years later, but not
- 6:09Speaker 1: when they happened. But I'm lucky because, like I my family,
- 6:15Speaker 1: we all live these experiences together. My dad made a
- 6:18Speaker 1: point that is, if we're going to do this and
- 6:22Speaker 1: that we've got to keep the family together. So he's
- 6:25Speaker 1: a bricklayer, and so he would put the bill. The
- 6:30Speaker 1: record companies just would pay for me and a minder,
- 6:34Speaker 1: but he was like, no, I'm going to add to
- 6:36Speaker 1: that so that we can all stay together and leave
- 6:38Speaker 1: these experiences out together. So but you know, obviously, touring
- 6:43Speaker 1: with BB King taught me so much. That was the
- 6:45Speaker 1: first time I had experienced blues on the big stage
- 6:48Speaker 1: up until that point, and was jamming with guys in
- 6:51Speaker 1: smoky blues clubs. But that was like playing in the
- 6:55Speaker 1: middle of the outside in the desert on a gorge
- 6:58Speaker 1: in Seattle, in front of ten thousand people, and he
- 7:01Speaker 1: would have me up on stage to play blues with
- 7:04Speaker 1: him in the middle of his set and get me
- 7:07Speaker 1: to count in his band. I mean, and I as
- 7:10Speaker 1: much as what I felt out of place, I also
- 7:12Speaker 1: felt really welcomed into their world. And I remember turning
- 7:17Speaker 1: around going these are not just guys who listen to blues.
- 7:20Speaker 1: These are guys who created blues from their own hardships
- 7:23Speaker 1: and their pains as a way to heal and bring
- 7:26Speaker 1: people together. And here's me from Southwest Sydney, a kid
- 7:29Speaker 1: twelve years old, up on stage and it was that,
- 7:34Speaker 1: you know, the biggest bit of a lesson that I
- 7:36Speaker 1: got from him two words, two very powerful words, which
- 7:40Speaker 1: is the theme of this show, which is be you.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And I didn't know what that meant at that time.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I sort of did, But that's that's a beacon being
- 7:50Speaker 1: served as a beacon throughout my whole life during whatever challenges.
- 7:53Speaker 1: If I'm stuck in a storm, it's like, what's me,
- 7:56Speaker 1: What's truly me? That's my compass. And yeah, so I mean,
- 8:01Speaker 1: I have lots of stories. I think probably the most
- 8:03Speaker 1: hilarious one. I didn't know who I was playing with
- 8:08Speaker 1: a lot of the time, I knew who bb King was.
- 8:11Speaker 1: And I'm playing an open air festival out in the
- 8:14Speaker 1: Green sixty thousand people. They have me on after Elton
- 8:19Speaker 1: John on main stage and before Page and Plant, and
- 8:23Speaker 1: I don't know who Page and Plan are because I'm
- 8:24Speaker 1: so young. I didn't discover rock until a little bit later.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And so I'm up on stage and I'm playing. I'm
- 8:31Speaker 1: doing my best and this old guy is the side
- 8:34Speaker 1: of stage watching with a big smile. And if I
- 8:36Speaker 1: get off stage and he comes up to me and
- 8:38Speaker 1: he's given me all these different compliments and everything and
- 8:41Speaker 1: ask for a CD and can I sign it? So
- 8:43Speaker 1: I go over to my mom. I'm like, that old
- 8:45Speaker 1: bloke over there wants to sign CD, to give me
- 8:47Speaker 1: a CD. And she's she's shocked. She's like that guy
- 8:50Speaker 1: over there and I say yeah, and she's like, that's
- 8:53Speaker 1: Jimmy Page. And I said, who's Jimmy Page? Yeah, I know, right,
- 8:57Speaker 1: and I didn't know. And then right next to him
- 8:59Speaker 1: was Robert Plant.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Wow, that's amazing.
- 9:02Speaker 1: I know, it's just and my whole early day's career
- 9:06Speaker 1: is just filled with those moments. I didn't know. I
- 9:08Speaker 1: didn't I didn't know until the other day that Ben
- 9:12Speaker 1: and Jerry's came to my gig a couple of times
- 9:17Speaker 1: in San Francisco, the ice cream hippies that invented the
- 9:20Speaker 1: ice cream and and we had mad conversations. I didn't
- 9:23Speaker 1: know that that that was Ben and Jerry's What Ben
- 9:25Speaker 1: and Jerry's are you serious?
- 9:27Speaker 3: Job?
- 9:28Speaker 1: And Jerry Ben and Jerry, Ben and Jerry's.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:32Speaker 3: I think my first experience with he bro was in
- 9:35Speaker 3: a place called Giants Blues.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Bar up in Canas.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Oh.
- 9:38Speaker 2: You used to come down a lot when you're just
- 9:39Speaker 2: a kid man. We used to come along.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I would have only been about nineteen or twenty. Other
- 9:42Speaker 3: you we just used to look at you and just like.
- 9:45Speaker 2: What that fuck?
- 9:47Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, John Know's Blues Bar that was. That
- 9:50Speaker 1: was a great place, and I definitely have some memories there,
- 9:54Speaker 1: and I think, yeah, I mean to get a little
- 9:58Speaker 1: bit more serious, it's it's. It wasn't too long after
- 10:01Speaker 1: that that I started to get just a little bit
- 10:03Speaker 1: embarrassed about my name because of all the shit I
- 10:06Speaker 1: copped at school and and and that's kind of what
- 10:08Speaker 1: led to a collapse. And I go onto this in
- 10:12Speaker 1: the show because the show is a lot about the
- 10:14Speaker 1: struggle with identity and learning how to be comfortable being yourself,
- 10:19Speaker 1: and so obviously take people along on that journey as
- 10:22Speaker 1: long as well as my mental health challenges that I
- 10:25Speaker 1: went through with anxiety and depression and insomnia.
- 10:28Speaker 3: And you know, I was actually just a little slide
- 10:33Speaker 3: noted that I saw something on Facebook yesterday someone film.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And JOHNO he's still playing on the night up and
- 10:38Speaker 2: can still here. Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I walked into a guitar store up there to get
- 10:43Speaker 1: some strings, and the owner of that guitar store, he's like,
- 10:46Speaker 1: I know you like And it turns out I had
- 10:49Speaker 1: met him back in those days, and then yeah he was.
- 10:51Speaker 1: He said the same thing about JOHNO, that he's there
- 10:54Speaker 1: playing at the markets and stuff like that.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I could understand a word he said twenty years ago.
- 10:58Speaker 2: I don't know how people understand.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I know absolutely. I think when he was up on stage,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I used to get really embarrassed when he'd start singing,
- 11:06Speaker 1: because he's he would he'd had whatever amount of beer
- 11:10Speaker 1: is and in a great bloke. So I'm not I'm
- 11:13Speaker 1: not disrespecting and everything, but he had troubles controlling the
- 11:17Speaker 1: saliva in his mouth, so whenever he was singing, he
- 11:20Speaker 1: just spit all over the front row and I was like, ah.
- 11:24Speaker 2: You didn't have to use a microphone after video, I know, right,
- 11:30Speaker 2: he's got a touch on this.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Before I leave Roban, there's a quite in the press
- 11:33Speaker 3: release that there's the story follows your path from bucketing
- 11:37Speaker 3: competitions to the heights of stardom and back home to himself.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Like I love that last bit where it says follows
- 11:44Speaker 3: you back home to yourself, Like, what is that encompass?
- 11:48Speaker 1: Well, I mean you you you lose your way sometimes
- 11:52Speaker 1: and and I triggered by that embarrassment and insecurities about
- 11:58Speaker 1: being me. Then we see I made different decisions in life,
- 12:02Speaker 1: and my relationship with the guitar and music change because
- 12:06Speaker 1: of that. Those beliefs that I didn't check in my
- 12:09Speaker 1: head and I did. I lost my way, And not
- 12:13Speaker 1: that I was putting out music that I didn't like
- 12:16Speaker 1: or anything, but it's there. There was a lot of distortion,
- 12:19Speaker 1: not the good kind in my head that took me
- 12:23Speaker 1: so far away, and it was actually going through chronic
- 12:29Speaker 1: fatigue insomnia and all that stuff where I didn't think
- 12:32Speaker 1: I'd ever be up on stage again. That brought me
- 12:35Speaker 1: back home because I started to write songs out of
- 12:41Speaker 1: just pure self expression. It wasn't about is this going
- 12:44Speaker 1: to be on the radio? Is it going to be
- 12:45Speaker 1: a hit? You know people are gonna like it whatever.
- 12:48Speaker 1: It was just like when I was a kid. I
- 12:50Speaker 1: used to get in the garage and just play, like
- 12:52Speaker 1: the play whatever I wanted. And until I developed about
- 12:56Speaker 1: twelve songs that I was really stoked with that moved
- 12:59Speaker 1: me and thought and this coincided with it at a
- 13:02Speaker 1: time where I'd learned all these lessons about my inner
- 13:05Speaker 1: world that opened my world back up. They got rid
- 13:08Speaker 1: of the insomnia, got rid of the anxiety, got rid
- 13:10Speaker 1: of the depression, and I thought, I wonder, I wonder
- 13:14Speaker 1: if I need to face my fears and try and
- 13:19Speaker 1: reacquaint myself with the stage again. And now I've got
- 13:22Speaker 1: the songs. And when I did and I got to
- 13:26Speaker 1: the other side of that, there was a type of
- 13:28Speaker 1: love and a connection with stage and music that I
- 13:31Speaker 1: hadn't had for years. And I would say it's probably
- 13:34Speaker 1: even more potent and more free and blissful because I
- 13:39Speaker 1: now knew where those depths are, like how deep those
- 13:44Speaker 1: struggles can go and it can swallow you up. So
- 13:47Speaker 1: to come back from that that they're going to come
- 13:49Speaker 1: back knowing myself, it feels like I'm returning home again.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Now back back to the show again.
- 13:56Speaker 3: But you're telling these stories about your life, which songs like.
- 14:00Speaker 2: In an interactive why does the crowd get to ask
- 14:02Speaker 2: me questions? Or is it just you?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Well, actually it's a bit better than that, So it's
- 14:07Speaker 1: it is a show. So it's I'm telling those stories.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I'm taking you through those experiences. Then I'm breaking it
- 14:13Speaker 1: up with the odd song here and there that punch
- 14:15Speaker 1: awakes that story and I I I toyed around with
- 14:20Speaker 1: the idea at the end of opening up to a
- 14:23Speaker 1: Q and A. But some of these these these venues
- 14:25Speaker 1: are like four or five six hundred cap And one
- 14:30Speaker 1: of my favorite things to do is to get out
- 14:32Speaker 1: there after the gig people that came to the show.
- 14:35Speaker 1: So I'll go out the back near the merch desk
- 14:38Speaker 1: and just and just just chat to people. And that's
- 14:41Speaker 1: when you can converse. And a lot of the times
- 14:44Speaker 1: people actually not really interested in asking questions. They want
- 14:48Speaker 1: to share their experiences and I love that. I love
- 14:51Speaker 1: that so much because we're all Yeah, like I said,
- 14:54Speaker 1: we're all just humans trying to make sense of things.
- 14:56Speaker 1: And and and when I when I hear somebody else
- 14:59Speaker 1: story that may align or relate to mine, I don't
- 15:02Speaker 1: feel so alone and vice versa. And I can't tell
- 15:05Speaker 1: you how many are lucky I'm a hugger because this
- 15:08Speaker 1: is so so many hugs, Like we'd be absolutely screwed
- 15:12Speaker 1: if this show was happening during COVID.
- 15:17Speaker 2: You know how many hugs are going to get now?
- 15:18Speaker 2: People are just gonna run up there.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, I know, I know. I tell you
- 15:21Speaker 1: I did a gig in at the top of Western
- 15:24Speaker 1: Australia and oh that was not the place that you
- 15:27Speaker 1: want to get hugs because it's so hot, humid. Everyone
- 15:31Speaker 1: is just ripping in sweat and so you get sweaty hugs.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And that's like that takes me back to my martial
- 15:38Speaker 1: arts Brazilian jiu jitsu days, and not the good side
- 15:41Speaker 1: of them.
- 15:42Speaker 3: No, no, this first Runner jokes, bro, there's a heap
- 15:46Speaker 3: in Victoria and chewing New South Wales.
- 15:48Speaker 2: But are you going to see you?
- 15:51Speaker 1: This is the first announcement. So we're building a show
- 15:54Speaker 1: that will go a tour that will go nationwide next year.
- 15:58Speaker 1: So the best thing that people can do, because it's
- 16:00Speaker 1: so hard to cut through all the noise online, to
- 16:03Speaker 1: let people know that I'm that I'm when there's a
- 16:06Speaker 1: show near them, is is sign up to my mailing
- 16:08Speaker 1: list Nathan Cavalery dot com forward slash Tour and I
- 16:12Speaker 1: will not spam you. You will just be notified when
- 16:15Speaker 1: there's a when when the tour is dropped, and when
- 16:18Speaker 1: there's a show near you. And and yeah, we're hoping
- 16:21Speaker 1: to get right around the country with this one.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Very nice.
- 16:24Speaker 3: And see you've also got a fresh finger out too
- 16:27Speaker 3: as well.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Tell us a bit about that, yeah, Tilba. So Tilba
- 16:31Speaker 1: is actually a real laid back one and and it's
- 16:36Speaker 1: it came about at a time when I actually when
- 16:39Speaker 1: I separated from the mother and my kids a couple
- 16:41Speaker 1: of years ago. And when you go through something like that,
- 16:43Speaker 1: it feels like one of your big pillars has just
- 16:45Speaker 1: come crumbling down, and and everything's foggy. You don't know
- 16:48Speaker 1: what's around the corner. You can't even say what's gonna
- 16:51Speaker 1: happen the next next day. And I was driving through
- 16:55Speaker 1: this town called Tilbert Tilba. It's Tilbur Tilba and down
- 16:59Speaker 1: the far south of New South Wales, and something about
- 17:02Speaker 1: that drive just pulled me into the moment and it
- 17:05Speaker 1: showed me that I was just creating all these stories
- 17:07Speaker 1: of what might lie on the other side of this
- 17:10Speaker 1: missed fog, and all these stories none of them were good.
- 17:13Speaker 1: It was all doom and gloom that was causing all
- 17:16Speaker 1: this anxiety. And I thought, I can't know, like I
- 17:19Speaker 1: can't truly know, so there's no point in entertaining this
- 17:23Speaker 1: and these mountains. This drive was just it was almost like,
- 17:27Speaker 1: at the risk of sounding like a complete hippie, which
- 17:29Speaker 1: obviously I'm a bit of a hippie at times, is
- 17:31Speaker 1: it's almost like the universe was just giving me a
- 17:34Speaker 1: big hug to just go It's okay, Like it's just trust,
- 17:38Speaker 1: have a bit of trust, and this is just the
- 17:42Speaker 1: faith in the unknown. Just have a bit more faith
- 17:44Speaker 1: in the unknown. Put one foot in front of the other,
- 17:46Speaker 1: and that next step will reveal itself. So that became
- 17:49Speaker 1: my beacon through that really turbulent time that really served me,
- 17:53Speaker 1: and I wrote a song about it and put it
- 17:54Speaker 1: out called Hilbert.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Very nice fan. Did you remember the first time you
- 17:58Speaker 2: ever heard one of your songs and what song was?
- 18:02Speaker 1: Oh, I was Little Egypt. It was Little Egypt. I
- 18:05Speaker 1: was nine years old and that was my first thing
- 18:10Speaker 1: ever and it was absolutely smashed on radio and I
- 18:13Speaker 1: thought that was the coolest thing. I mean still, if
- 18:16Speaker 1: I heard my song on the radio, I would yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 1: it'd be absolutely awesome. But I think there's probably one
- 18:24Speaker 1: that tops it more and I haven't experienced it, but
- 18:26Speaker 1: I think if I ever experienced this, I think it's
- 18:31Speaker 1: my job done. Is if I'm walking down the street
- 18:34Speaker 1: and I hear somebody blaring my song in their car
- 18:39Speaker 1: while you're driving by, that would be just Oh, that
- 18:43Speaker 1: would be so cool. By the way, speaking of my
- 18:46Speaker 1: first single, I didn't realize who the singer was that
- 18:52Speaker 1: fronted it, so Chris Bailey, and I didn't know who
- 18:58Speaker 1: he was until I started to get into to punk
- 19:01Speaker 1: years later, and I thought, yeah, but I want to
- 19:04Speaker 1: check out some because I was familiar with a lot
- 19:06Speaker 1: of UK and American punk and I'm like, what are
- 19:08Speaker 1: some of the punk bands in Australia, like the Classic Ones.
- 19:12Speaker 1: This band called the Saints pops up and I'm like, Ah,
- 19:14Speaker 1: they're pretty cool and I'm just like, who's that And
- 19:17Speaker 1: I just look at the members. I'm like Chris Bailey.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Chris Bailey, he was my first single.
- 19:23Speaker 4: No way, that's so cool. Yeah, it's so cool. All right,
- 19:29Speaker 4: thanks very much for your time. Roping up to pleasure.
- 19:31Speaker 4: The tour kicks off on Dune the twenty. Where can
- 19:33Speaker 4: people find out more information and get them sell tickets?
- 19:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Nathancavaliery dot com Forward Slash Tour. You can get
- 19:39Speaker 1: all of your tickets there again, sign up to the
- 19:41Speaker 1: mailing list so you notified for future gigs. And I
- 19:44Speaker 1: definitely encourage buying early. It's they are selling well. But
- 19:50Speaker 1: also it does help artists anxiety. I know, like there's
- 19:53Speaker 1: like ever since COVID, everyone buys like the last week
- 19:57Speaker 1: unless you're Taylor Swift, right, and so we're all sit
- 20:00Speaker 1: there right now, it was going, oh my god, do
- 20:02Speaker 1: we need to cancel this gig? And that's becoming a
- 20:04Speaker 1: theme where you're seeing you're seeing artists and venues cancel
- 20:08Speaker 1: shows and they don't need to because they will pull
- 20:12Speaker 1: numbers that last week, but some of them just can't
- 20:15Speaker 1: risk it waiting that long because then you get into
- 20:18Speaker 1: all the non refundable costs of touring, and it costs thousands.
- 20:21Speaker 1: So if you're out there and you want to go
- 20:24Speaker 1: see music, just buy a ticket.
