0:01
Welcome to Washington. This is Lord extra cooler and
0:08
welcome to the extra cooler show, no teeth, Beefaroni on a
0:12
boat and that's a problem right away.
0:43
Welcome to episode 85 of the extra cooler show.
0:47
My name is not Nick, I am not otherwise known as extra cooler
0:52
but instead this week it's brought to you by Matt and
0:57
otherwise known as the hopf. God if you wheel and I'm flying
1:00
solo this week, guys. So I am back after being away
1:05
last week. I promise you that this last
1:08
week that we spent time off, we did meet this week as a group.
1:14
We worked out some awesome things for the remainder of the
1:18
first part of 2023. So really exciting things coming
1:23
from the extra cooler show. I'll give you a peek behind the
1:27
curtain a little bit later but first and foremost, as always,
1:32
you can find us on Instagram at extra cooler.
1:35
Over on Twitter at extra cooler show.
1:39
Please go check us out if you haven't jumped in the Discord
1:42
please do come talk with us, come hang out, come have fun,
1:46
we're having a blast and just talk Talking graps.
1:50
Let's go talk some graphs. So first and foremost
1:54
housekeeping from episode 84, we talked about the the the prime
2:00
time wrestling from Christmas day until 1989.
2:05
And I told you guys that I would pull a little clip for us and
2:11
have this boy this man, this gorilla clip for us at our
2:16
disposal moving forward so what they'll hit you with it.
2:19
So it's there, it will be in our tools.
2:27
Here are tool basket our toolbox if you will.
2:30
And yeah, the other thing from housekeeping that I some text
2:36
messages about there was a question thinking about how many
2:39
times we have covered Bret Hart matches or Bret Hart in any way,
2:43
shape or form. And I promise you, I have the
2:45
answer, but I need some clarification for.
2:48
So the guys are going to need to be here before we get an
2:51
official ruling, but we had Nick throwing out the number of 16
2:55
and I will tease you all. He is extremely close to the
2:59
correct answer but I have some extra stats tune in next week.
3:02
Episode 85 I'll run it down with the boys.
3:05
But first I have some questions that get answered what the rules
3:09
are and then we'll Dive Right In.
3:11
But this week Riding Solo, we've been away from wrestling for two
3:18
weeks at the extra cooler show and it is time that we give you
3:22
or I give you the extra cooler top five.
3:25
We will give you an extended extra credit episode this week
3:28
and as always it is brought to you by chalk line.
3:32
Go check out chalk line at chalk dashed line.
3:35
Calm and use the Pod Foundation code of p.f. 10 at checkout to
3:41
save yourself. Ten percent.
3:43
Go get some goodies including Nick's jacket of course.
3:47
But let's Dive Right In guys and let's start with some honorable
3:50
mention. Like I said it has been two
3:52
weeks since we've been in front of microphones, or I've been in
3:55
front of microphones and talking to you about some, some
3:59
wrestling over the last few weeks.
4:00
And there's there's a lot to talk about way too much to talk
4:04
about, so, honorable Is jam-packed, first and foremost,
4:08
WWE is back at it again. They are running little and a
4:13
social vignette where we see Dom Mysterio showing up to his
4:17
grandfather's house for Christmas.
4:19
He's bringing along Rio Ripley and ends up in him.
4:23
Getting arrested, he says on his way out.
4:26
Nice, little audio clip of him saying I'm not, I wouldn't make
4:30
it in jail. Call Fin call priest, and he
4:34
cuts a promo from jail. Well, it seems like on this past
4:37
Monday Night Raw. He's got a teardrop tattoo, he's
4:40
all in white, the background is all white.
4:43
He's got true, Michael Scott Vibes.
4:46
It's just a tremendous tremendous work here and I've
4:49
been so out on Dom for so long but he is really coming around.
4:53
This role is fitting him really well and I'm excited to see what
4:57
they do next week when he inevitably returns to Monday
5:00
Night Raw. Next up an honorable mention, we
5:04
have Dax Would launching his podcast FTR with Dax.
5:09
And this dude is just so relatable.
5:12
He feels so insanely honest and transparent as he is talking
5:16
through the first topic, which is CM Punk.
5:19
So a hot button, of course, starting out strong here.
5:22
If you haven't gotten listened, I wreck I highly recommend you
5:25
do. Again Dax is just so relatable.
5:28
It feels like he's just really, really just giving you a peek
5:33
talking about his his Experiences with CM Punk kind of
5:38
what his tail is and really just a fun.
5:42
Good listen, so go find, go find this out, go track this down,
5:46
check it out and support the man because he's probably going to
5:50
show up on some top wrestler lists and if you haven't already
5:54
seen him there. So moving on next on.
5:59
Dynamite two weeks ago. Well, now it's it could be even
6:02
three. We had Jamie hater taking on
6:04
schita in One hell of a fight. I wanted to give these girls
6:08
flowers for finishing off Dynamite with a main event
6:12
match. That was certainly worth it.
6:13
So what a bra, what a fight and Jamie hater man.
6:16
Really coming around sticking with dynamite in honorable
6:21
mention we have swerved debuting a new faction.
6:24
The Mogul affiliates with Rick Ross, dropping F bombs on live
6:28
TV. I'm not totally sold on this one
6:31
yet but it's still fresh still early.
6:33
You breaking cinder blocks on On Keithley is chests and all that
6:37
jazz. So I'll watch a long but right
6:41
now, you've got a, you got a real me in a little bit War,
6:44
swerve. You, you are the man in the
6:46
ring, swerve was actually the one when I went to Grand Slam in
6:50
Queens, New York, he was actually the one in ring, that
6:54
impressed me the most seeing him live for the first time sticking
6:58
with dynamite here. In some more honorable mention,
7:01
they are building up this January 11th, dynamite in Los
7:04
Angeles to be Insanely insanely important show for a ew and this
7:10
mocks and hangman Feud is getting more and more intense,
7:13
more and more personal. I'm really digging, its really
7:16
sucking me in. And I am not a hangman guy.
7:18
So, I'm really pumped for this one.
7:20
I'm excited to see where they take this.
7:24
This January 11th episode and just really.
7:27
How big can they make it to kick off the new year?
7:29
For aw will move away for the last note of honorable mention.
7:35
But Bad Apple, we had John Cena who I can't believe I sang into
7:40
that. John Cena coming back to
7:42
SmackDown in the final episode of the Year.
7:45
Teaming up with Kevin Owens to defeat Sami Zayn and Roman
7:49
Reigns Sammy eats the pin. If they don't leave any open
7:54
questions is that I was expecting them to lead into the
7:58
next story for John Cena and they didn't it was just kind of
8:02
a made. It seem like it was a one-off
8:04
match. I know there's been rumors.
8:05
Is of what Cena will be involved with when it comes to
8:08
WrestleMania. Time as we are.
8:10
Right. Just a couple of quick weeks
8:12
away from from Royal Rumble and really turn on the afterburners
8:16
getting on to WrestleMania season but it was it was good to
8:20
see John Cena in his bald spot back on our televisions, that it
8:25
felt really good. So definitely enjoyed that
8:29
sticking with Smackdown will head to Story number five from
8:32
the week, Charlotte returns. To smack down and immediately
8:38
wins the women's title away from Ronda Rousey.
8:43
I know that there was a lot of hate out there.
8:45
I know that our very own mr. Extra cooler himself.
8:50
Nick texted our group complaining about how the
8:53
booking sucked and how it was hot shot at and of course,
8:56
Charlotte comes back and Charlotte wins the title
8:59
blabbity blah blah blah. I I see that.
9:02
I totally see that, but this, this felt different to me this
9:05
felt like it was a like a Money in the Bank cash in almost like
9:11
you had Rhonda. Have an upper chest and, you
9:14
know, being the tough chick and and saying yes to a challenge,
9:18
right? Then and there on the spot you
9:20
had Shayna, baszler essentially begging and pleading her not to
9:23
do it. And that screaming about how
9:25
dumb this is. And it was a really unique
9:29
different way of doing it and sure that the booking is seems a
9:33
bit lazy at times. I can see that side of the
9:36
argument but for me Charlotte is such a large or deal especially
9:43
for the division on Smackdown that has felt so small.
9:48
It feels like a bunch of a bunch of lower card women.
9:54
And then Ronda Rousey being forced to the top, I know Liv is
10:00
the didn't there. She certainly had a great year
10:04
in 2022. Really Rose to the next level
10:07
former Champion, but you just never had the sense of a world
10:11
beater out of her. So, To get Charlotte back.
10:14
Really opens up, the women's division on Smackdown, and I
10:19
think it it's really a good thing.
10:20
But before we, before we move on from Story number five, I think
10:25
that we need to talk about Raquel Rodriguez, or Gonzales,
10:29
or whatever her last name is, at this point.
10:31
She put on one hell of a match. With with, with Ronda Rousey, I
10:39
was really impressed by the match.
10:40
Really got into it. Really loved what they did.
10:42
She looked fantastic. And I just wonder if Rhonda gave
10:48
a shit enough to put her over. If this was a result of Raquel
10:55
actually being that good in the ring and being able to carry a
10:58
match. But I was super impressed.
11:01
I really was was hoping that now she could potentially Elevate
11:06
herself into this world title picture and could be a contender
11:09
for Charlotte. Both large and stature both you
11:13
know, big women that can throw down in the ring and I'm excited
11:17
for that potential Feud. It's interesting because
11:21
Charlotte feels like she is Back as a baby face, they put her in
11:26
the crowd where a few weeks ago, you know, put her in the crowd,
11:29
holding up the title where a few weeks ago, they did the same
11:32
thing on Raw with Becky Lynch and putting her amongst, the
11:35
people are with a microphone and talking to fans and weird things
11:39
like that, but it feels like this was their signifying.
11:43
That Charlotte is going to be a good guy.
11:45
She's going to come back and be the baby face for all which, you
11:49
know, you have a tailor-made heel and Ronda Rousey,
11:52
especially in. In the the, the wrestling world.
11:56
And hopefully they can really just pull this off and Elevate
11:59
the entire division as we head into into WrestleMania season
12:04
Story. Number four, this is going to be
12:07
an all-encompassing one. This we're going to call it
12:10
braise world, right? So Bray Wyatt, we have two weeks
12:15
of SmackDown to talk about. So two weeks ago, we see Uncle,
12:20
howdy come out. He seems like a Actual figure
12:24
Bray is in the ring along side of La night and Uncle.
12:29
Howdy comes out in a full face. Mask looks pretty like a large
12:34
man coming out in the smoke and then that's all we get.
12:39
Move ahead to last week the the December 30th episode.
12:43
We get Uncle howdy coming out again this time the mask looks a
12:47
little different he gets in the ring.
12:49
He stands next to Bray Wyatt and Drops him with a sister,
12:54
Abigail? I, I love this.
12:59
I know that we hear a lot of feedback about Bray Wyatt, kind
13:03
of plateauing. It started out so strong.
13:07
It really grabbed the wrestling World by the balls, and just
13:09
doing the whole White Rabbit until the until the debut.
13:14
And then it feels like, it's slow down, right?
13:16
But there's there's continuously small little breadcrumbs driven.
13:22
There's all of these other unanswered questions.
13:24
There's all of these things that's moving along and now we
13:27
get that Uncle. Howdy is actually a real in
13:31
person character and it's not just going to be a Tron version
13:34
of Bray Wyatt. And I'm excited for what this
13:39
could hold. And I'm really interested to
13:41
know more about why Uncle howdy took out Bray Wyatt.
13:48
And you see it just the the this year like shock and awe in l.a.
13:53
nights faces? Well, I feel like he played his
13:56
role really well in this segment.
13:58
On top of all of this, it didn't make us feel like he was teaming
14:05
up with Uncle, howdy. He meaning Ellie and I pronouns
14:08
pal. But, yeah, it's just a really
14:11
interesting segment. Really kicked off the show last
14:14
Last Friday. And I'm here for it, man.
14:17
I'm excited to see where it goes.
14:21
But we'll talk about in a second because maybe I'm not as excited
14:24
as I just explained to. But before that, this last
14:28
episode of Monday Night Raw, we get evil Alexa Bliss showing up
14:33
again. She has her title match with
14:36
Bianca. They recreate the fight scene
14:39
from Scary Movie, 3 with Brenda facing off against the the girl
14:44
from The Ring or that the spoof girl from The Ring.
14:48
If you haven't seen this floating around social media,
14:51
Um, ghost, go seek it out. It's really, it's, I didn't
14:54
notice it in the moment. I can't admit to being the
14:57
biggest Scary Movie 3 fan but watching this being recreated
15:01
and their little fight scene here was really, really cool
15:04
kudos to them for pulling it off and a really interesting
15:08
different take that really fits the Bianca versus This creepy
15:15
Alexa style and you know Bianca holding her hand on the
15:20
forehead. Head of the smaller, Alexa
15:22
Bliss. Her flailing her arms back and
15:24
forth, but later on, we see someone in the crowd who don't
15:30
know. If you noticed it earlier in the
15:33
in the evening you actually saw while there was things going on
15:38
in the crowd, you actually saw an uncle howdy mask out there as
15:42
well. And looks like now this is
15:44
ringside, Alexa Bliss sees and Uncle howdy mask and she is
15:49
totally distracted. You see?
15:51
Kind of in a trance snap out of it.
15:53
Come back to the Ring. The Bray Wyatt signal or logo
15:57
flashes on the Tron twice and Alexa loses.
16:01
It she attacks, Bianca she attacks the referee, she
16:07
eventually actually actually busted open.
16:12
Bianca as well. She had to get stitches on her
16:14
chin, after this, she's got some blood on the outside.
16:19
I love, love the involvement. Here it keeps.
16:21
This storyline that we've all talked about it being plateaued.
16:25
It takes this storyline. It adds a whole nother layer to
16:28
it. On top of that, it keeps Bray
16:31
Wyatt in our minds from Smackdown.
16:34
It keeps him in our minds. Again, when you get to raw and
16:40
the involvement of this Alexa Bliss character is just, it's
16:45
really amazing for me. No, I just recorded the
16:50
turnbuckle taverns debate show where we talked about whether or
16:55
not this was good long-term storytelling.
16:58
You'll have to turn in tune into the show on Monday or Sunday
17:01
evening for video on YouTube to really hear all the details and
17:06
what we get into. But it feels like they're
17:09
picking up the broken pieces of an old story line and they're
17:13
putting it back together again. Alexa Bliss felt really Really
17:18
lost from WrestleMania till now with Bray Wyatt exiting and
17:25
she's just been floundering. They had you know you're weird
17:29
shrink your weird, you know, site visits, and all of those
17:33
things and all the therapy and whatnot and just didn't hit home
17:36
with me but now they're picking up the pieces again they're
17:39
putting it all back together in a really intriguing way.
17:41
But the best part about this is none of it is telegraphed.
17:47
This feels like you've got unanswered questions and the way
17:54
I explained it on the debate show was you this usually, you
17:57
can go down the path of a storyline and it's always headed
18:00
till a. You're going to go to a then
18:03
maybe you'll get a swerve and it goes to be and you know, you
18:07
move on to the next the next one.
18:09
But with this with braised world as I'm calling it now, you've
18:12
got option, A or option b option.
18:15
C option D but most importantly, Only I think where we are going
18:19
is option, Z that you're not even seeing is going to come up
18:22
from behind you and knock you on your ass.
18:24
And you are going to love every second of it.
18:28
I don't know if I'm putting too much stock in WWE to pull off
18:32
something of this magnitude and you know, to really catch us by
18:35
surprise and getting answers that were not expecting.
18:38
But the hiring of the long-term Storyteller.
18:43
I forget the exact title of this man.
18:45
But Rob fee is now here Who used to be with Marvel?
18:49
Triple H being in charge Bray Wyatt's.
18:51
Just insane creativity here. I just have the highest hopes
18:56
that they are going to. Wow.
18:58
Us in the end. And I just think that all of
19:00
this is been so fun and they're ramping it back up again.
19:06
Oh yeah, but they're also announced the Mountain Dew
19:09
blackout match has been booked for Royal Rumble.
19:13
I just pray that this match is not in the dark.
19:16
Maybe this is a cinematic piece. Maybe we get another cinematic
19:21
match to an extent of what you know, Bray Wyatt can do best and
19:25
really get some unique story telling.
19:28
I just hope this is not a pitch-black Arena.
19:30
It's a all of us have our masks on and we're trying to sit here
19:35
and Sure. Watch something in the dark and
19:38
I know that they're spotlights and there's been this creepy
19:40
lighting when Uncle howdy comes out, but I just really hope and
19:45
pray that this gimmick match is better than the zombie match
19:50
that they've pulled off in the past where it's much more than
19:53
just a, a promotional tactic because bringing a promotional
20:02
tactic to the Bray Wyatt World. The Bray Wyatt story Which just
20:06
sour me, really, really big. I hope that they can avoid that
20:12
but man I just they've got me back on the right track here.
20:16
It sounds like there's more people that are back on the
20:18
right track with this Bray Wyatt world with the how things are
20:21
moving and I just hope this blackout match doesn't doesn't
20:26
take us down the wrong path, but that story number four, let's
20:31
take a quick break and let's talk what's in the So I'm
20:43
sitting here solo, I just finished a green tea, I've got a
20:48
water here next to me to be really boring, but in the spirit
20:52
of what's in the cooler and the the the what's in the cooler
20:56
segment is brought to you by Sloop Brewing Company.
20:58
Sloop Brewing is known for their hazy and golden ipas like juice
21:02
bomb and Supersoft be on the lookout for more.
21:05
More coming from the extra cooler show and our favorite
21:08
Brewery Sloop. This is one of those things that
21:11
the whole group of us, talked about this past week and what,
21:14
what's coming down the pipe. But instead of me telling you
21:18
what I'm drinking this evening and during the holiday time, we
21:21
got to hang out with friends, Nick and Mike actually came to
21:25
my house for New Year's Eve, and I picked up the Goose Island
21:29
beer hug mixed twelver, is what it's called.
21:33
And they've Four pack or a 12 pack with four different beers
21:38
in it. I've talked about the hazy beer
21:40
hug in the last couple of episodes and this one was the
21:44
one that really drove me to this pack?
21:46
I really enjoyed it Goose Island is the usually have their Goose,
21:52
IPA is usually my go-to when I go to Yankee Stadium.
21:55
That's usually my Yankee Stadium beer but this hazy.
21:58
Beer hug is what it's called, hazy IPA 6.8%.
22:02
They also put a Secret bear hug, which is another hazy.
22:06
IPA really interesting taste to that one.
22:09
There neon beer hug, which was a seven percent irr and their
22:13
Imperial IPA in there, a Tropical beer hug, 9.9%, this
22:17
whole pack was awesome. This is what I drank on New
22:20
Year's Eve mixed in with a couple of my tree houses that
22:23
I'm dwindling down on. I'm saving them for the next
22:25
couple episodes because they'll be some fun ones.
22:29
But, yeah, if you haven't picked up any of these Goose Island,
22:33
beer hug, Gears, I highly recommend them.
22:35
Go check them out and start with the hazy beer hug, if I am to
22:40
recommend that, but let's move in to Story.
22:44
Number three, This one for me is last week on Dynamite, we had
22:53
the best of seven trios matches that are going on between the
22:58
Young Bucks and the death triangle and Match.
23:01
Six was a Falls Count. Anywhere match, this match for
23:05
me, was hands down the best of the series.
23:09
Thus far. We knew it was headed seven
23:12
matches. We knew we were getting there.
23:14
This is their own Maj to the NBA.
23:16
This. This is their omage to just how
23:18
exciting a seven-game series is in the sports world, but this
23:24
Falls Count Anywhere match starts in the back, it is chaos,
23:29
right? Out the gate.
23:30
There is cool fun spots in the back, you get it out to the
23:34
ring. These Falls Count Anywhere
23:38
stipulation and to me makes for so much fun when you really have
23:44
when you have these match these matches on your Guard this
23:49
easily made my match of the year.
23:52
It was a slightly soft sloppy finish now.
23:55
I'm sorry. Let me rewind.
23:56
It makes my match of the year list.
23:59
So for the turnbuckle Tavern they went ahead and they asked
24:04
and pulled a lot of our podcast friends.
24:07
I filled out a list match of the year was on this end of the Year
24:11
Awards list will actually be. I will actually be joining Tom
24:15
and Seth from the Chick-fil-A show j-bone from coming down the
24:20
aisle. And then we're also going to
24:21
have Chad and of course, Tom on sessions this upcoming week,
24:25
running down our list, talking through the the 2022 year-end
24:29
Awards. But going back to this match,
24:33
this made number eight on my list for match of the year.
24:36
I loved it that much. There was a slightly sloppy
24:39
finish, Kenny hits, the One Winged Angel on, on Phoenix, for
24:44
the 123, which happens in the Crowd Nick, I believe it was
24:49
Nick. Jackson is tapping out in the
24:51
ring, but the gap between the 123 and the tapping in the ring
24:56
was just a bit too long for me. I know this is extremely hard to
25:02
pull off simultaneously when they're so far away in the crowd
25:06
but it just didn't play on television.
25:08
I think the exact way that they wanted it to but regardless a
25:13
tremendous match, highly recommend going back and
25:15
watching this one One. And then we head to match 7,
25:19
which will take place in Los Angeles, a part of that January
25:25
11th, Dynamite that they're seemingly building up to be such
25:28
a huge event and hopefully something big comes out of this
25:33
best-of-seven and it's not just a clear winner after the ladder
25:38
match and, you know, we move on. I'm just hoping that something
25:42
even bigger comes out of this one.
25:45
Story number two, schinsky Nakamura defeats the great muda
25:51
at pro wrestling Noah on January 1st.
25:55
First and foremost, it was shades of schinsky from New
26:01
Japan since K from the NXT world that we all seemingly fell in
26:06
love with and wanted to see on the main roster, the entrance,
26:11
the gear the match. But man for me The story here is
26:16
really the finish. The Finish is and this is the
26:21
great mood has farewell match. Keep in mind, Shin SE comes up
26:26
and almost looks like he plants a big old fat wet kiss on the
26:31
great muda. But he is taking the mist from
26:36
muda. And he staggers backwards after
26:39
a couple of seconds and sprays, the Mist integrate mood as eyes,
26:44
he hits him. With a mean Kinshasa.
26:47
Something that we felt like we haven't seen in a long time,
26:50
finishes them off for the 1 2 3, an amazing finish.
26:56
But I really hope that Triple H has given approval for shins gay
27:03
to really, and I guess the mood great muta needs to give him his
27:06
Blessing to take this on, but I really hope that he brings the
27:11
the Mist to his repertoire. And And really starts using it
27:16
at WWE. I know this is something that we
27:18
have seen Oscar use on the women's side.
27:24
I hope that doesn't stop Shin from being able to use it, but
27:27
if he is able to bring this and add it to his repertoire, I just
27:31
really hope that we see this here on the WWE side.
27:40
Excuse me. Hello cough.
27:41
I had to mute myself. The cough button coming in handy
27:44
there but let's head off to Story.
27:46
Number 12, part 2 part here but wrestle Kingdom 17 happened this
27:53
morning. I'm recording here on Wednesday,
27:55
January 4th, And this one, it starts out in Japan, you know, I
28:03
am not in a position where I can be waking up.
28:09
I think, it started at like 3:20 in the morning, something like
28:13
that. Local time here on the east
28:15
coast in New York and I just, I wish I would be able to take the
28:20
day off and just sit there and watch wrestling at 4:00 in the
28:24
morning and enjoy this in its entirety.
28:28
I'm still piecing things together as I did work today, it
28:31
did not take the day off, although I probably should have
28:34
now looking back and making this a wrestle Kingdom, you know,
28:38
wrestle Kingdom day. But I'm actually going to start
28:41
with, we'll Ospreys promo video promo that he pulled during the
28:46
pre-event press conference. He gets in Kenny omegas face the
28:51
passion, the fire, the the the Vigor that he spoke with was
28:56
just truly incredible. It was Debating for me, it set
29:00
the tone it made me want to see this match even more.
29:04
I sought this this match out. First, of course, you wake up.
29:09
You're starting to scold scroll through social media and you see
29:13
just the the feedback for this match and how good it was and
29:17
man. Oh man, did this deliver this?
29:20
This is the easy easy match of the night.
29:24
I'm sure this will be listed on Match of the year, and as we
29:27
head, Through 2023 here. I know it's only January 4th but
29:33
this match was that good? Please go seek it out.
29:35
There is a spot where Kenny hits a double stomp through a table.
29:41
Literally putting a hole in it and I'm sure you've seen it on
29:44
social media. But Kenny picks up the table and
29:46
sticks, his head through the hole that was made in the, in
29:49
the table top. And it looks like he's out of
29:53
The Shining, like this, the face, he makes, and I just, I
29:57
just want This version of Kenny Omega here in the US.
30:02
Kenny in Japan. Seems like a whole nother
30:06
monster. I know that he's fought through
30:08
injuries, the entire time. He's been in.
30:10
Aw, he spent time away to heal up from those.
30:14
Those injuries from all the the multiple injuries, but Kenny,
30:20
and will a spray put together. One hell of a match and will a
30:25
spray for me in past matches. Like, yes, you can see How
30:28
talented he is here you can see even going back to the orange
30:31
Cassidy match that he had was tremendous, but there's always
30:35
that little choreographed section that breaks my
30:39
suspension of disbelief and I'm always like, man.
30:42
Yeah man, this was completely are the opposite.
30:45
There was an absolute brawl, these two fought tooth and nail
30:49
bloodied battered, amazing, amazing finish as well.
30:54
Like this, this match. If you haven't watched it,
30:57
please go do. It.
31:00
This this is easily matches the night like I said but let's move
31:05
off into the second half of Story.
31:08
Number one and you've seen it on the artwork for the for the
31:11
episode. This is Kyrie defeating Tom
31:14
nagato Naka. No.
31:16
Sorry and retaining her ID. I gwp, women's title, blah,
31:22
blah, blah. Lot of a lot of words.
31:24
For me to say, pardon me. She has about a six-hour match
31:30
six-hour, man thrown off by my jibber-jabber here in my
31:33
blubbering but she has about a six minute match.
31:36
Pardon me. She gets her hand raised the
31:39
lights, go out. And then we hear a coaching and
31:43
money sounds. And it has a woman's voice in
31:46
the music saying, mine, a and Sasha Banks, now known as the
31:53
CEO, Mercedes Monet, or excuse me.
31:57
Money. Mercedes money is introduced
32:01
comes down to the ring. I know that the even the
32:03
announcers were saying, this was the, the worst kept secret that
32:07
the rumors were true. Mercedes comes down
32:10
face-to-face, Kyrie raises, the title, and motions, for a
32:14
Mercedes to bring it gives her a little c'mere.
32:17
The little schinsky hand. The Little Rock Hand Mercedes
32:24
extends her hand, Kyrie shakes it but then Mercedes puts her in
32:28
what seems to be a new finish. And, oh, man, I think I never
32:34
really liked talking about botches unless they're really
32:37
egregious. And it's, you know, fun to
32:39
laugh. At this was not a fun to laugh
32:41
at botch. The fun to laugh at botches.
32:44
Kind of the, the, the, the big guy from the swerves old group,
32:52
I can't remember their name right now, but he had that
32:55
really bad. That really bad botched, two
32:57
weeks ago on Smackdown, and they even made made fun of that one
33:01
and on air. And I thought that was really
33:03
well done there. But I'm going off on a tangent
33:05
here. She totally seem to botch, the
33:09
finish. It was up.
33:11
It was upsetting, I was really upset for her in the moment.
33:14
She started laughing immediately in that cocky, Sasha Banks kind
33:18
of way. I felt like it was her just
33:21
playing off like man, I messed up but she drops the title on
33:26
Kyrie and then she grabs the microphone and this is where
33:31
things get even more tough than the little Bosch.
33:37
She says that she's here and New Japan and stardom to make
33:40
history. She knows a little bit about
33:42
making a little bit about making history and just the Cadence at
33:47
which she was talking, Was so incredibly slow and I don't know
33:55
if it was nerves, I don't know if she was dipping into her CBD
33:59
stashed too much and she was, you know, sitting in there with
34:04
a little little too big of a buzz going on, but that's all a
34:08
joke. I don't necessarily believe that
34:10
that's the case. But It just really took me out
34:16
of it even more. It made her feel less important
34:19
and a couple of weeks ago on the show, excuse me, a couple weeks
34:23
ago on the show. I just talked about how this
34:26
should have been number Story. Number one, when all of the
34:29
rumors were flying that she was done with WWE and and all of
34:33
these things but she says at battle in the valley in San
34:38
Jose, I'm Gonna Leave You bankrupt bitch and you can Bank
34:42
on my May I like three really throws me off.
34:49
I'm not with the gimmick. I'm not with the the whole stick
34:54
right now. And I'm just trying to give it
35:00
the benefit of the doubt. This, this match is February
35:04
18th. It's probably inevitable that
35:07
she's going to take the title off a Kyrie here.
35:09
And Kyrie's only had one defense.
35:11
This, this match here was her first offense and she just
35:18
instantly felt less important to me.
35:20
And I was a disappointment because I was really expecting
35:24
this to feel huge to feel massive.
35:28
Excuse me, I don't know if it was the crowd and just the
35:32
Japanese crowd, not responding. I mean, there was a little pop,
35:36
you know, there was some some gasps a little, you know, cheer
35:40
along the way but really in a more traditional Japanese way
35:46
you Your those crowds are not loud and boisterous.
35:49
Like the u.s. crowds are no surprise there, but I mean, I'm
35:55
interested, I'm gonna watch apparently in the post-match
36:00
media scrum. She was saying that this is just
36:03
the beginning that she's going to be moving like she's going to
36:07
her world domination. I think is what it was.
36:10
So I imagine that this will be a belt collector kind of scenario.
36:14
She'll bounce around from from from promotion to promotion
36:19
collecting titles, kind of like FTR did But we'll see.
36:27
I hope that it gets better. I hope that she owns the craft a
36:31
little bit more. I hope it was just nerves but
36:35
yeah, I'm we'll see where it goes.
36:37
But you can even hear it in the just the way I'm talking and
36:40
kind of coughing through it. Apologies again for battling
36:42
through that one. But for me, it just fell a
36:47
little flat. It fell not where I wanted it to
36:50
be and not the big of a deal. As I was expecting it to be, but
36:54
that is our extended top five, as I've gone through this solo
36:59
this week. Thanks for coming.
