- 1:46Speaker 1: Welcome to the twenty five Whistles Labor Day Special.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Yes, thanks holiday.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Well, it's just because we're doing it on the holiday.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Which is like dedication.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Well not really. DraftKings is now back on and so
- 1:58Speaker 1: we have to do it. Oh right right, yeah, but
- 2:00Speaker 1: the Labor Day Special. I've been walking around carying a
- 2:03Speaker 1: football all day.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 1: My wife's like, why you carrying in football? So why not?
- 2:08Speaker 4: It's got a nice little pig on it.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it does.
- 2:11Speaker 4: It's a little flat, though, do you want to air
- 2:13Speaker 4: it up a little bit?
- 2:14Speaker 1: Just my Tom Brady ball, okay, the flaggate. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:17Speaker 1: that's the joy. That's okay. So there was football this weekend.
- 2:22Speaker 1: It was pretty awesome. I think we'll just start at
- 2:26Speaker 1: Texas and Ohio State, where I always root for the SEC,
- 2:31Speaker 1: call that part of my conference Homer, except for I
- 2:34Speaker 1: hate Texas more than I love the SEC, and they're
- 2:36Speaker 1: so new right, Like is that it doesn't count? Yeah,
- 2:38Speaker 1: they don't count, but they're still in. It doesn't matter.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I would root for Oklahoma, although that's a fan. I
- 2:42Speaker 1: was so happy he's Texas. See Texas lose. Sorry, Mike,
- 2:46Speaker 1: I don't even think that all of the hate on
- 2:48Speaker 1: arch Manning it's fair. He didn't have a good game,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but he also he also played probably the second or
- 2:55Speaker 1: third best defense in college football. So if he were
- 2:59Speaker 1: to have played Louisiana Monroe and played like that, I'd say, dude,
- 3:04Speaker 1: it's over.
- 3:04Speaker 5: I don't feel that bad about it.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Like it wasn't a blood bath. No, I'm talking about
- 3:09Speaker 1: talking about arch Manning just specifically. Yeah, Texas defense is
- 3:12Speaker 1: really good, really good. Yeah, and they had to play
- 3:14Speaker 1: in Columbus. I was very happy see Texas lose. So
- 3:18Speaker 1: suck it to all you Longhorns as a group individually.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I'm sure I like you all one on one, Yes,
- 3:24Speaker 1: but it's not Arch Manning is not over yet, and
- 3:27Speaker 1: that they probably have some cupcakes coming up so they
- 3:30Speaker 1: can kind of get that. The problem with having cupcakes though,
- 3:32Speaker 1: is you never know if you're fixing things until you
- 3:35Speaker 1: have to play another team that's halfway decent to good.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But Mike, who does Texas have coming up? San Jose State? Oh? Yeah,
- 3:43Speaker 1: we have some cokekes. That's an arch many warm up.
- 3:45Speaker 4: They need that, you know what, You're right though, If
- 3:47Speaker 4: Arch Suck's here to we're in trouble.
- 3:48Speaker 1: What else you got?
- 3:49Speaker 5: We have?
- 3:49Speaker 1: You Tip in Houston?
- 3:51Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah your cupcake city whoa?
- 3:53Speaker 4: And then Florida.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you got three cupcakes to kind of get it right.
- 3:57Speaker 1: So I'm not writing Texas off, although I would love to.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And if it's close, they win ties because they have
- 4:04Speaker 1: the brand. But yeah, that's that sucked for you guys.
- 4:07Speaker 1: Your thoughts.
- 4:08Speaker 6: I don't feel that bad after because we stayed in it.
- 4:11Speaker 6: It could have been really bad, and I.
- 4:13Speaker 7: Don't think arch Manning looks that bad.
- 4:14Speaker 1: At one interception, his throwing motion liked really weird. It
- 4:18Speaker 1: was like a side It looked worse yesterday than it
- 4:21Speaker 1: did last year. Because I watched the games that he
- 4:24Speaker 1: started last year, I was curious. I like arch Manning,
- 4:26Speaker 1: which is what's weird, because he has really a despicable
- 4:29Speaker 1: thing on his helmet, that horn.
- 4:31Speaker 4: The orange.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yes, despicable, But I like arch Manning, so I'm rooting
- 4:34Speaker 1: for him. So do you think the pressure got to him.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I don't think so. I think the Ohio State defense
- 4:39Speaker 1: got to him. It was nasty. It was nasty. You're again.
- 4:42Speaker 1: You look at two of the top three defenses in
- 4:44Speaker 1: the country. So boom. Now. I made a bet before
- 4:48Speaker 1: the season started, put a pretty semi substantial bet on
- 4:53Speaker 1: Lenora Sellers to win the Heisman. He's the South Carolina quarterback.
- 4:56Speaker 1: I felt really good after that yesterday. Now he only
- 4:58Speaker 1: threw I don't have the stats in front of me
- 5:00Speaker 1: for like two o nine he rushed for twenty five
- 5:02Speaker 1: or thirty, but really made some great throws and really
- 5:05Speaker 1: looked like a large, strong human, which he is a
- 5:08Speaker 1: large strong human. And if you watch the SEC any
- 5:11Speaker 1: given Saturday, I think you like him more after watching that.
- 5:14Speaker 1: He's just a big dude, and he moved up from
- 5:17Speaker 1: like fifth to second yesterday in the Heisman odds on DraftKings.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I think Garrett Nessmeyer is the dude right now.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Man.
- 5:27Speaker 1: He played awesome. That guy is and I think you
- 5:30Speaker 1: like him more if you watch any given Saturday on Netflix.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Him and the brothers at LSU. The play linebacker and yeah, yeah,
- 5:36Speaker 1: all three of them are then out. They're awesome. And
- 5:38Speaker 1: the middle brother is a stud. Yeah, and he played
- 5:41Speaker 1: all game, played really well for most of the game,
- 5:44Speaker 1: but they LSU won first time the Brian Kellyes won
- 5:47Speaker 1: an opener in like twenty seven years. I think, yeah,
- 5:49Speaker 1: pretty cool. Yeah yeah, forty seven years. Maybe maybe I
- 5:52Speaker 1: messed up.
- 5:52Speaker 7: Yeah, I couldn't remember. I think the over under was
- 5:54Speaker 7: twenty five.
- 5:55Speaker 1: But LSU beat Clemson seventeen ten, and Clemson can also
- 5:58Speaker 1: suck it Texas Cans and Clemson can suck it Eddie,
- 6:02Speaker 1: what's your beef of Clemson?
- 6:04Speaker 4: I mean, I just don't understand like a couple of things.
- 6:06Speaker 4: I'm watching the game, and the fact that they have
- 6:08Speaker 4: a locker room on the wrong side of the stadium
- 6:11Speaker 4: where they have to get into a bus. Everyone's waiting
- 6:13Speaker 4: on them to show up. They load on the bus,
- 6:16Speaker 4: they drive around the stadium, get out the bus, and
- 6:18Speaker 4: then they run down a hill. Like, guys, you're going
- 6:21Speaker 4: to hurt yourself. If not a player, a coach is
- 6:24Speaker 4: gonna die trampling down that hill.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Hey, Dabbo flies down that thing. Yeah, dude, I like it.
- 6:29Speaker 4: He does. But there are some other coaches, maybe like
- 6:31Speaker 4: Special Teams coach, that are struggling down that hill. We
- 6:34Speaker 4: may lose one of them at some point.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It reminds me of the Cheese Hill Mike a little bit,
- 6:39Speaker 1: where they have to chase the cheese down the real
- 6:41Speaker 1: real knocks on deep hills. Yeah, we should do a
- 6:44Speaker 1: side by side of the players running down the Clemson
- 6:48Speaker 1: Hill and then the people chasing the cheese down the
- 6:51Speaker 1: hill and wiping out The.
- 6:52Speaker 4: Players look a little more comfortable. The coaches don't.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I like it, and I don't like Clemson. I like
- 6:58Speaker 1: anything that's different and is a part of tradition. It
- 7:02Speaker 1: doesn't seem like it's the best use of time, the bus,
- 7:06Speaker 1: all of it, but I do like it. I did
- 7:09Speaker 1: like the Clemson loss and again to all the Clemson
- 7:11Speaker 1: fans out there individually, I probably like you, but dabos
- 7:16Speaker 1: big time just on the show once, so we cursed them,
- 7:18Speaker 1: and they haven't been the same since. Let's be honest,
- 7:21Speaker 1: they have not been the same since the curse, the
- 7:24Speaker 1: Whistler curse, which what we call that, but we just
- 7:27Speaker 1: called it that.
- 7:29Speaker 7: Now it branded it.
- 7:30Speaker 1: It's never been called that. We could do a couple more.
- 7:34Speaker 1: The Florida State Alabama game, great game, and again I
- 7:39Speaker 1: root for the SEC. You know, I root for Alabama
- 7:41Speaker 1: ninety eight percent of the time. I didn't root for
- 7:43Speaker 1: Alabama this game because I loved that Florida State was
- 7:47Speaker 1: two and ten last year, completely revamped. Their quarterback was
- 7:51Speaker 1: talking crap before the game to Alabama and then backed
- 7:54Speaker 1: it up. So yeah, I thought it was a great
- 7:58Speaker 1: performance by Florida State. I think what sucks is Kaylen
- 8:01Speaker 1: Debor is a really good coach. He is a He's
- 8:04Speaker 1: one everywhere he's been at the highest level. I just
- 8:09Speaker 1: would never have followed Nick Saban. I never want to
- 8:12Speaker 1: be the person that follows the guy. I always want
- 8:15Speaker 1: to be the person that follows the guy that followed
- 8:17Speaker 1: the guy. Even when I came into this job.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Here.
- 8:20Speaker 1: There was somebody that was on the air locally named
- 8:22Speaker 1: Jerry House for like I don't know, seventy years. Like
- 8:26Speaker 1: he was on back whenever Brian Kelly lost his first
- 8:29Speaker 1: home opener, his first opener in a row, you know,
- 8:31Speaker 1: because he's lost like forty seven in a row.
- 8:33Speaker 8: Yeh.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Yeah. So but Jerry House was on, and had they said, hey,
- 8:37Speaker 1: we want you to come in right after him, I
- 8:39Speaker 1: don't think I would have taken it. But they had
- 8:41Speaker 1: a show on before us that failed out in like
- 8:44Speaker 1: a year and a half, and so everybody's pallet was like,
- 8:47Speaker 1: bring on. The new came in dominated from the start, yeah, right,
- 8:52Speaker 1: and the rest is history. Like the Mike Vrabel that's right,
- 8:55Speaker 1: I'm the Mike Rabel of nothing. Actually there's nothing similar.
- 9:00Speaker 1: But I did like that they want to hate the
- 9:03Speaker 1: du Bors losing. He I think he's five and five
- 9:04Speaker 1: in his last ten games. That seems somewhat accurate. Either
- 9:10Speaker 1: I made that up.
- 9:11Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 9:12Speaker 7: Yeah, why would you make that up?
- 9:13Speaker 8: Though?
- 9:13Speaker 7: That seems pretty uh.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Yeah, you look that up. Yeah, Florida State one. It's
- 9:18Speaker 1: pretty cool. Again, I'm not an acc guy by any means,
- 9:21Speaker 1: but I love when a team is written off completely.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Two to ten last year is a pretty awesome game.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I did think Nico having a really bad game was
- 9:31Speaker 1: kind of hilarious. You see it like brutal. Joey Aguilar
- 9:34Speaker 1: plays great for Tennessee and then Nico just plays on
- 9:38Speaker 1: a worst team.
- 9:39Speaker 4: Though.
- 9:39Speaker 7: Yeah, that's the thing. He doesn't have the athletes, doesn't
- 9:41Speaker 7: have the team around him. An Aguilar obviously does just
- 9:45Speaker 7: a failed position for him wherever he goes in there.
- 9:48Speaker 1: So Tennessee with a win, that's your team. How'd you feel?
- 9:50Speaker 7: Yeah, it felt good, big plays Aguilar. One thing about
- 9:53Speaker 7: Nico last year was the deep ball accuracy, and Aguilar
- 9:56Speaker 7: obviously showed that off.
- 9:57Speaker 4: They look good.
- 9:58Speaker 7: Man, Syracuse isn't a bad team, and they ran them
- 10:00Speaker 7: off pretty good.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I don't think you know if Syracuse is a bad
- 10:03Speaker 1: team yet.
- 10:04Speaker 5: Last year they were good.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I know they lost my core last year that an
- 10:07Speaker 1: actual quarterback.
- 10:08Speaker 7: Yeah yeah, but I'm just saying week one they look good.
- 10:11Speaker 1: That's like me going, you know, Alabama A and M
- 10:12Speaker 1: not a bad team. Yeah, we have no idea. Alabama
- 10:15Speaker 1: A and M's who Arkansas played, and they are an
- 10:19Speaker 1: FCS school, And I think they just made fcs as well,
- 10:23Speaker 1: like barely. I think they were on that level of
- 10:25Speaker 1: high school and they were like, we need one more team,
- 10:28Speaker 1: let's bump them up. They just looked really small. We won,
- 10:32Speaker 1: I think like fifty two to seven or something.
- 10:33Speaker 7: How much did you watch that?
- 10:36Speaker 4: All of it?
- 10:37Speaker 1: Nice? I left it. I should say it was on
- 10:39Speaker 1: the whole time. I watched the first half intently, and
- 10:44Speaker 1: they made our defense look pretty crappy at the beginning
- 10:46Speaker 1: of the game, and then it was just better athletes.
- 10:50Speaker 1: But did they score that seven first? Yeah? Maybe, or
- 10:56Speaker 1: just I think their first drive. I don't even know
- 10:58Speaker 1: who got the ball first. Maybe their first drive and
- 11:00Speaker 1: they ran through us. But it doesn't matter. We play
- 11:03Speaker 1: Arkansas State next week, which we haven't done since Brian
- 11:07Speaker 1: Kelly's first in Jerry House.
- 11:10Speaker 7: Always coming back to Brian Kelly and Jerry Yeah forever.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Arkansas wouldn't play that in state rivalry because they were like,
- 11:17Speaker 1: why it's not a rivalry and we have nothing to gain.
- 11:19Speaker 1: If we lose the game, we lose. If we win
- 11:21Speaker 1: the game, who cares, And so they're going to play it.
- 11:24Speaker 1: It's going to be played in Little Rock at War
- 11:25Speaker 1: Memorial Stadium. Which is a crappy old stadium they've played
- 11:28Speaker 1: games in forever and hopefully we win by like fifty
- 11:31Speaker 1: or sixty and just move on.
- 11:33Speaker 7: Do you consider it a rivalry?
- 11:34Speaker 1: We never played them? Oh, in my life, I don't
- 11:36Speaker 1: think we ever played them. Really, I'm almost certain of that.
- 11:39Speaker 4: That's crazy.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Yeah, because Frank Broyle's our old athletic director, was like,
- 11:44Speaker 1: why would we play a team in state that's smaller
- 11:45Speaker 1: than us that we get nothing from if we win,
- 11:48Speaker 1: and it's only if we lose. Will there'll be anyone
- 11:51Speaker 1: caring about it?
- 11:53Speaker 7: Yeah, and it's probably only them that really talk about it. Yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 7: like we want to play you guys.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's this week, Mike. Do you see anything
- 11:59Speaker 1: like cale n Did you guys just give up on it?
- 12:06Speaker 3: No?
- 12:06Speaker 4: One followed up on.
- 12:07Speaker 1: The Stadh two and three in his last ten games,
- 12:11Speaker 1: Oh said last five?
- 12:12Speaker 5: No?
- 12:13Speaker 1: No, no, I think he's five and five in his
- 12:15Speaker 1: last ten. But you guys can let me know. They
- 12:19Speaker 1: both have laptop.
- 12:21Speaker 4: I do too, but all I have is my notes
- 12:22Speaker 4: on there.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I don't have time that you made notes.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I did.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Did you watch games?
- 12:28Speaker 5: I did?
- 12:28Speaker 4: I watched all the games, well, not all the games, yes,
- 12:31Speaker 4: the main games.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I was right, Yeah, five and five.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Let's go me. Did you know you were right?
- 12:35Speaker 1: I didn't know I was right. I don't have any
- 12:36Speaker 1: I don't have any notes as far as like I
- 12:38Speaker 1: can get to on my computer. Most of the stuff
- 12:40Speaker 1: I just put in my brain and try to remember that.
- 12:43Speaker 1: What is your big note?
- 12:43Speaker 4: No, no chance I'm going to remember any of that.
- 12:45Speaker 4: My big note is don't go to Ireland and play
- 12:48Speaker 4: a game. I know, like last year, Florida State goes
- 12:51Speaker 4: to Ireland, they lose in Ireland, and then they win
- 12:55Speaker 4: two games the entire season. Now Kansas State is owing two.
- 12:59Speaker 1: No, they're not.
- 13:00Speaker 4: They won. They won.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Oh my god, you took notes and you State won?
- 13:05Speaker 1: They won at the end?
- 13:06Speaker 4: O damn.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Watch you just said watched the games.
- 13:10Speaker 4: I watch these games all the way to the end.
- 13:13Speaker 4: What did they win by?
- 13:14Speaker 1: They won at the end?
- 13:16Speaker 7: Yeah they were down, yeah for sure?
- 13:17Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, all right, well then don't go anyway.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Do you know there are four quarters.
- 13:24Speaker 4: They did win? Look at that. No, guys, they lost, No,
- 13:32Speaker 4: they did it. Oh, I'm looking at okay, I'm looking
- 13:35Speaker 4: at Iowa State. Who did they play in North Dakota?
- 13:39Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 13:40Speaker 4: Where is that game.
- 13:41Speaker 7: It was in Kansas State.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Dang thirty eight thirty five. They sure did. They came back,
- 13:45Speaker 4: but anyway, still they go, it's North Dakota. Do they
- 13:48Speaker 4: gotta beat North Dakota.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Well they did. I mean they know they've got to
- 13:51Speaker 1: kill North Dakota. You know, before they went over and
- 13:55Speaker 1: played that game. Last week, the announcer's talking about how
- 13:58Speaker 1: a lot of the teams that play overseas it takes
- 14:00Speaker 1: like two or three weeks for them to adjust back.
- 14:03Speaker 1: If you play that first week game overseas, that week
- 14:07Speaker 1: zero game, you should get week one off.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 7: I thought they would both teams played.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Because in the NFL. Yeah, in the NFL, if you
- 14:13Speaker 1: go to Europe, you're off.
- 14:14Speaker 4: The next week.
- 14:15Speaker 1: You get to buy a week Yeah, because Eddie will
- 14:17Speaker 1: have you losing even if you win.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Yeah. Maybe you know what happens a lot they.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Have another note, Oh sure, a lot of Oh my god.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I just uh back on arch Manning. I was just
- 14:28Speaker 4: gonna say the crawl the entire day was Ohio State
- 14:32Speaker 4: shuts down arch Manning. I don't think that's right. I
- 14:34Speaker 4: think arch man is shut down himself. I really do.
- 14:37Speaker 4: I know the defense was good. They put pressure on him,
- 14:39Speaker 4: but arch Manning, dude, he had some really open looks
- 14:43Speaker 4: and he could not throw the ball.
- 14:45Speaker 7: I mean, the first play was pretty evident. I don't
- 14:47Speaker 7: remember the first play of the game. He throws into
- 14:49Speaker 7: the dirt. Guy wide open, coming across.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, you're talking about first play. Amped up. You're still
- 14:55Speaker 1: crying because Corso's out. The tears are still in your eyes.
- 15:00Speaker 7: Everybody was talking about Corso.
- 15:02Speaker 1: It was the highest rated whatever.
- 15:03Speaker 4: It was crazy.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Not only that Fox flipped over.
- 15:05Speaker 7: Yeah, I put it on, and then the course over
- 15:07Speaker 7: the band.
- 15:08Speaker 1: That was cool though, the fact that they negotiated that.
- 15:12Speaker 1: ESPN who has it, and Fox who was there for
- 15:15Speaker 1: their big game Saturday, Big New kickoff. Yeah, they flipped
- 15:18Speaker 1: over to do the game day. Yeah, that's super cool. Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 1: They all put on the Corso heads. That was cool.
- 15:23Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Corso on the tucks. That's legit.
- 15:26Speaker 7: Six for six. You see that in his picks.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Every and not only that, every team he e a
- 15:30Speaker 1: coach or played for one.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Yeah, what a way to go out.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that was good. I hope he doesn't die soon.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I know, because he had a stroke and that's why.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I mean, he's getting old. I think he's ninety. Yeah,
- 15:41Speaker 1: he's ninety, that's why what he slurs. But I think
- 15:43Speaker 1: it's both. It's a stroke in an age, but probably
- 15:46Speaker 1: a stroke at the age. Does that? Uh so, yeah,
- 15:52Speaker 1: you hope he's he's got some time to just chill.
- 15:55Speaker 1: But if you go that hard doing one thing. And
- 15:58Speaker 1: also I saw him flying public like.
- 16:00Speaker 7: Really, yeah, he was playing a plane.
- 16:02Speaker 1: That's what I was saying, like, you can come on,
- 16:04Speaker 1: he's ninety with a stroke. And there was a thing
- 16:06Speaker 1: at the airport of him getting on a commercial flight
- 16:10Speaker 1: to Ohio.
- 16:11Speaker 4: Yeah, oh man, that's ESPN. I'm almost certain.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I don't want to go from my ninety fact check
- 16:16Speaker 1: of the day. But all I'm doing is going from
- 16:18Speaker 1: the brain. Here Herbstreet flies private, Herbstreet does. Yeah, this
- 16:21Speaker 1: is and his dog cours on that plane with him.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I think they're coming from different places though, we'll pick
- 16:27Speaker 1: them up. Hey, Carson becklay pretty good last night? Did
- 16:31Speaker 1: He went twenty for thirty one, two A five and
- 16:33Speaker 1: two touchdowns. I thought Notre Dame was going to come
- 16:36Speaker 1: back and win it, and also thought, I text our group,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I was ninety percent on bets this weekend. I went
- 16:41Speaker 1: from eleven hundred my account to like thirty seven hundred,
- 16:43Speaker 1: let's go with that. With just a couple one hundred bets,
- 16:47Speaker 1: two hundred dollar bets like that, I had a four
- 16:49Speaker 1: leg parlay of just money lined SEC teams plus Purdue
- 16:53Speaker 1: since I have a friend that coaches Purdue.
- 16:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it was all on a motion pick. Yeah, so
- 16:59Speaker 1: I had a Now I'm sure it will not happen
- 17:01Speaker 1: this next weekend, but I had a really excellent betting weekend.
- 17:04Speaker 5: I got to enjoy it.
- 17:05Speaker 1: What you can, I do enjoy it. That's why I'm
- 17:06Speaker 1: bringing it up. And I'm also saying it's not common,
- 17:09Speaker 1: but mostly those week ones, the offenses are a little
- 17:13Speaker 1: nervous to play offense. The defenses are always ahead of
- 17:17Speaker 1: the offense. And so I bet the under in the
- 17:20Speaker 1: South Carolina Virginia Tech game and hit that.
- 17:22Speaker 7: Unders were the big, big money. And then I had
- 17:24Speaker 7: it last night on the Notre Dame game. Guess what
- 17:27Speaker 7: hit the over in the field goal with a minute left?
- 17:29Speaker 4: Really, I had nice no one point, not good.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I bet Notre Dame plus five and then plus eight
- 17:37Speaker 1: as they were down.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Oh that's good.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Yeah, so oh I saw that one. So I ended up.
- 17:43Speaker 1: We all saw that except Kevin. No, I didn't Kevin,
- 17:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I met this. Yeah, I sent it to
- 17:48Speaker 1: wrong Kevin.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Oh really yeah yeah yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 1: I was like I'm over ninety percent boys. And then
- 17:52Speaker 1: I got a text back from Vinklok this morning and
- 17:54Speaker 1: he dos' anything about betting, and he was like, hey, congrats,
- 17:56Speaker 1: and I was like, oh, wrong, Kevin, wrong group. Okay, cool,
- 18:02Speaker 1: we have Brandon Marcelo coming up in just a few minutes.
- 18:04Speaker 1: What a yeah, Brandon sent it to me.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Thanks for fact checking me, Brandon turning all the cameras
- 18:09Speaker 1: still fact checking dang man m v P. ESPN. This
- 18:14Speaker 1: is from something called the Athlete Lifestyle.
- 18:17Speaker 4: I never heard of.
- 18:17Speaker 5: This is that real?
- 18:19Speaker 1: Well it does say what I said, So either we're
- 18:21Speaker 1: both wrong. ESPN shamefully makes Lee Corso fly Southwest for
- 18:27Speaker 1: final college.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Game Day Dango.
- 18:30Speaker 1: It is okay, the ninety year old college game day
- 18:34Speaker 1: icon that made the most valuable non live sports franchise
- 18:36Speaker 1: for ESPN into the behemoth that is today will make
- 18:38Speaker 1: his final appearance. So while the goodbyes have been heartfelt,
- 18:45Speaker 1: Lee Corso isn't always living the high life. It just
- 18:49Speaker 1: goes on. But yeah, I think I was right about that.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Did you see it on that on that article or what?
- 18:54Speaker 1: Did you see it Twitter?
- 18:57Speaker 4: Probably?
- 18:58Speaker 1: Oh I saw on Twitter.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I wasn't in the airport and I was like, what's there?
- 19:02Speaker 1: He is? Yeah, I do want to play one other
- 19:05Speaker 1: thing from the weekend before we get to Brandon Marcelo
- 19:08Speaker 1: and they had the WWE event in Paris Clash in Paris,
- 19:14Speaker 1: and it's the greatest wrestling crowd I've ever seen.
- 19:18Speaker 7: Have they ever been overseas like that?
- 19:20Speaker 1: Yeah, they were just in Brussels. Yeah, they do Europe.
- 19:24Speaker 1: But I'm gonna play John Cena coming out and also
- 19:27Speaker 1: this is John Cena his retirement tour. Mike, would you
- 19:29Speaker 1: play that?
- 19:42Speaker 8: Bang?
- 20:05Speaker 1: How crazy?
- 20:05Speaker 4: Is that?
- 20:06Speaker 1: So cool? I got chills.
- 20:08Speaker 4: I wasn't even there.
- 20:10Speaker 1: I wasn't there either for the Riker Okay, yeah, I
- 20:12Speaker 1: was at the airport in the Southwest Lounge Lee Corso.
- 20:18Speaker 1: The other thing that was really annoying was Nebraska taking
- 20:22Speaker 1: down the image of what is it big the big boy.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I didn't see that making out with Taylor Swift. God,
- 20:29Speaker 1: So after Nebraska beat Cincinnati, they put up an image
- 20:33Speaker 1: and it was her, you know how she was leaned
- 20:35Speaker 1: into Travis Kelcey their engagement photo, and all they did
- 20:38Speaker 1: was put up their mascot with Taylor Swift. There was
- 20:41Speaker 1: nothing to it, and they got so much backlash they
- 20:44Speaker 1: took it down. Nebraska stopped being PUDs. There was nothing
- 20:49Speaker 1: you did that was wrong. It was funny. You're like,
- 20:53Speaker 1: we won, we get the girl. It was hilarious. They
- 20:56Speaker 1: took it down. Really. Yeah, here's the thing about that.
- 21:00Speaker 1: It's okay because it's engagement. Yeah, that's where he doubled down.
- 21:04Speaker 1: It's just engagement. Like you want engagement. And if you're
- 21:07Speaker 1: getting backlash for something you didn't do wrong or illegal,
- 21:10Speaker 1: or you're hurting anybody, bring on the backlash. That's just
- 21:13Speaker 1: people disagreeing. I couldn't believe they took it down. One.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I thought it was funny. Two, I couldn't believe they
- 21:19Speaker 1: took it down. Three I only knew about it once
- 21:20Speaker 1: he took it down because that's what made the news hilarious.
- 21:23Speaker 1: That is so don't you feel like that's so weak
- 21:26Speaker 1: of them to pull that down?
- 21:27Speaker 7: Absolutely, Why even put it up?
- 21:29Speaker 1: Why even put it up if you're gonna take it down?
- 21:30Speaker 4: Yeah, you are right.
- 21:32Speaker 1: So, uh, we give a thumb down to Nebraska, even
- 21:35Speaker 1: though they won, all right, Brandon Marcelo. Coming up next,
- 21:38Speaker 1: the NFL season is here. In Draftking Sports Book, an

- 22:34Speaker 1: I'm also gonna go Ceedee Lamb over eighty receiving yards.

- 24:00Speaker 1: We had Brandon Marcelo on with us. Hey, how was it?
- 24:03Speaker 1: Because I saw your Instagram story you were near the
- 24:06Speaker 1: game day desk when Corso was there, Like, what was
- 24:08Speaker 1: that vibe?
- 24:08Speaker 3: Like?
- 24:09Speaker 5: It was like everybody was saying goodbye. Everybody was happy
- 24:13Speaker 5: and uh shaking, shaking hands, trying to get to leave.
- 24:17Speaker 5: But it was cool. It was. It's funny because like
- 24:21Speaker 5: when he walked in and everybody's just yay. Then Pat
- 24:25Speaker 5: McAfee walks in, he's all like I get trying to
- 24:28Speaker 5: get everybody all riled up, and the fans are, you know,
- 24:30Speaker 5: ploying at him going crazy. Much different atmosphere when both
- 24:34Speaker 5: walked in.
- 24:34Speaker 1: How was it when they were actually doing the final
- 24:37Speaker 1: reveal when he picked the buck Eye?
- 24:40Speaker 5: Well, like you know and showbiz, the you get to
- 24:45Speaker 5: see behind the curtain a little bit when you're actually there.
- 24:47Speaker 5: So they're rolling the desk out at midfield and everybody
- 24:50Speaker 5: already saw the buck Eye. Oh no, so they knew
- 24:56Speaker 5: what was coming. I didn't quite actually probably would hope
- 25:01Speaker 5: for live.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 1: My wife said, you were watching it, she was like,
- 25:04Speaker 1: there's no way he's going to pull out the long horn,
- 25:07Speaker 1: not in the middle of Ohio State. And the first
- 25:09Speaker 1: thing he ever picked was a buck guy. She said,
- 25:11Speaker 1: even if you believed Text was gonna win, there's no
- 25:14Speaker 1: way he'd go out by picking the long horn. Did
- 25:16Speaker 1: you feel that was true?
- 25:18Speaker 5: Yeah? I thought I thought he would do that too.
- 25:20Speaker 5: It was. It was a perfect circle. I mean when
- 25:23Speaker 5: they picked that game, I immediately thought that he was
- 25:25Speaker 5: gonna pick Ohio State no matter what.
- 25:26Speaker 1: So, yeah, okay, let's talk about the game because your article,
- 25:30Speaker 1: and I agree with you that it's this is not
- 25:32Speaker 1: the tale of the bust of Arch Manning. After after
- 25:35Speaker 1: one week and so your article came out Saturday night
- 25:39Speaker 1: and it was false Arch Manning's bust true. I don't
- 25:42Speaker 1: remember the whole title. I'm a big fan brand, but
- 25:43Speaker 1: I remember the whole title of the article. But I
- 25:45Speaker 1: did read it. But talk about the game and talk
- 25:47Speaker 1: about maybe people are jumping to the conclusion that Arch
- 25:49Speaker 1: sucks a little too early.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean being there in person and watching the game.
- 25:53Speaker 5: And you know the thing about TV when you're watching
- 25:55Speaker 5: the game is you don't really get to see what's
- 25:57Speaker 5: happening all across the field at every moment. But when
- 26:00Speaker 5: you're in the press box, are there you can watch
- 26:02Speaker 5: other different matchups. And the thing that immediately stood out
- 26:05Speaker 5: to me after the first quarter was that both defenses
- 26:08Speaker 5: are stellar and incredible, but specifically their secondaries were elite.
- 26:14Speaker 5: Ohio State's secondary was locking down Texas's receivers all game,
- 26:20Speaker 5: and I knew why arch Manning was holding onto the
- 26:24Speaker 5: ball too long and why they were unable to complete
- 26:27Speaker 5: some passes downfield. The issue, though, was that Steve Sarkeesian,
- 26:32Speaker 5: as he admitted later after the game, is that they
- 26:35Speaker 5: should have called more like designed runs for arch Manning
- 26:39Speaker 5: to get him loose, because he's a runner. We saw
- 26:42Speaker 5: it last year and they brought him off the bench.
- 26:43Speaker 5: That was primarily what got him on highlight reels was
- 26:45Speaker 5: running the ball, and they didn't let him do that.
- 26:48Speaker 5: And I also think that early in that game, you know,
- 26:51Speaker 5: when the routes and the receivers weren't open, he was
- 26:54Speaker 5: standing there in the in the backfield telling himself, don't
- 26:57Speaker 5: take off running, make a throw, make up play here,
- 27:01Speaker 5: and I think that that hurt him. So you had
- 27:04Speaker 5: all that together, I see why arch Manning struggled. And
- 27:08Speaker 5: then in the fourth quarter. You saw that he came
- 27:10Speaker 5: to life. The game was on the line, he started
- 27:13Speaker 5: doing some things and arch Manning is going to be
- 27:16Speaker 5: just fine. But my biggest takeaway from the game was
- 27:18Speaker 5: that Ohio State and Texas's defenses were really, really, really good.
- 27:24Speaker 5: And you know, I want to be surprised if both
- 27:26Speaker 5: teams are in the College Football Playoff this year again.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Texas has three cupcakes in a row, getting you know,
- 27:34Speaker 1: and they should be cause they played to Ohio State
- 27:35Speaker 1: first week. Like, kudos to both those schools for scheduling
- 27:37Speaker 1: that week one. But how much can you actually write
- 27:40Speaker 1: when you're playing teams that are so much less athletic
- 27:44Speaker 1: than you.
- 27:46Speaker 5: That's a good, good question. I had to do it
- 27:49Speaker 5: for years as a local like beat reporter covering a team.
- 27:52Speaker 5: Every beat writer deals with that because there's a stretch
- 27:54Speaker 5: where it's just bad stuff and so you start working
- 27:58Speaker 5: on like like features and stuff. They don't even really
- 28:01Speaker 5: deal with the game, but deals with the players and coaches.
- 28:04Speaker 5: And to be quite honest, there's not much you can
- 28:07Speaker 5: glean from an actual game against some cupcase down the road.
- 28:11Speaker 5: You know, if arch Manning were to come out and
- 28:13Speaker 5: just tear tear things apart, go twenty nine to thirty
- 28:16Speaker 5: passing for four hundred and fifty yards or something like
- 28:18Speaker 5: that looks great, helps the stats, and people will have
- 28:21Speaker 5: their reactions, but the reality is is that really does
- 28:25Speaker 5: not matter all that much. It really doesn't because against
- 28:29Speaker 5: some of these teams you play sometimes you might as
- 28:31Speaker 5: well be playing against air. And I know that's a
- 28:34Speaker 5: very much an insult to some programs, but it's the reality,
- 28:37Speaker 5: especially when you play these FCS type of teams in
- 28:40Speaker 5: the lower group of five programs. Those type of games
- 28:45Speaker 5: in weeks have always been an and are transforming more
- 28:48Speaker 5: and more now as we see a greater divide between
- 28:50Speaker 5: the haves and have nots in this NIL era, it
- 28:53Speaker 5: turns into like glorified preseason games for you to work
- 28:57Speaker 5: out some kinks, try some new things, and just kind
- 29:01Speaker 5: of push ahead so you can prepare for the bigger ones.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Can Texas actually get better, can Arch get better? Or
- 29:07Speaker 1: we really not know until they again they play who
- 29:10Speaker 1: do they have? Florida? Is Florida their next big game?
- 29:12Speaker 5: I think yeah, And that's that's the one to me.
- 29:15Speaker 5: Like when you go into another hostile environment that's comparable
- 29:21Speaker 5: to Ohio State, that's when you'll be able to judge
- 29:24Speaker 5: whether there has been improvement for Texas, but mostly arch Manning.
- 29:29Speaker 5: I agree with that wholeheartedly. It's not going to be
- 29:33Speaker 5: at home. I mean, heck, even if you were playing
- 29:36Speaker 5: you know, an LSU at home, you could read into
- 29:38Speaker 5: that or whatever, but you got the home. What it
- 29:41Speaker 5: takes these days because of the playoff, and we saw
- 29:44Speaker 5: it last year, I think fans are finally starting to
- 29:46Speaker 5: realize how much the game has changed. Is that most
- 29:49Speaker 5: teams are probably going to have to go on the
- 29:51Speaker 5: road at some point in the playoff and play in
- 29:54Speaker 5: a very very rough environment, and you've got to win
- 29:58Speaker 5: one of those type of games in the regular seat
- 30:00Speaker 5: in the show that you're ready to do that. And
- 30:02Speaker 5: Art is going to have to do that this year
- 30:04Speaker 5: at some point.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I think Kaitlyn de Boor is a really good coach.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I think it's a situation now that sucks for him.
- 30:11Speaker 1: I talked about how I never want to follow the guy.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I've had the opportunity to do that in my career,
- 30:15Speaker 1: never wanted to. I want to be the guy that
- 30:17Speaker 1: follows the guy that follows the guy. I want somebody
- 30:19Speaker 1: to come in and bomb before I go in and
- 30:21Speaker 1: save it. He's five and five in his last ten games.
- 30:23Speaker 1: He is a great coach. How does this shake out
- 30:26Speaker 1: in your mind?
- 30:26Speaker 5: He's a great coach, But I think the question from
- 30:29Speaker 5: the beginning has always been is at the right fit?
- 30:31Speaker 5: And I thought that was legitimate then and it's more
- 30:34Speaker 5: legitimate now. Is he a coach that can coach in
- 30:36Speaker 5: the SEC? Is his temperament made for that? The guy
- 30:39Speaker 5: is super nice. You always hear that, like, yeah, he's
- 30:42Speaker 5: a bad you know, a bad employee, but he's a
- 30:44Speaker 5: super nice guy. Well, he's not in bad employee, it's
- 30:46Speaker 5: just that his temperament doesn't really fit in the SEC.
- 30:49Speaker 5: I think in the SEC, to be a head coach,
- 30:52Speaker 5: you gotta be an ass in a lot of ways.
- 30:54Speaker 5: You gotta be paranoid, you gotta be on it all
- 30:58Speaker 5: the time. You've gotta have boundaries, no one to say
- 31:02Speaker 5: yes and no around people who ask for your time.
- 31:04Speaker 5: And Kaylin de Boor is just a very friendly guy
- 31:07Speaker 5: with his players too, but also with just people around
- 31:11Speaker 5: the community and facility. And you wonder if that like
- 31:16Speaker 5: comes across from the and on game days, I mean,
- 31:19Speaker 5: you watched a game, the effort by the defense, especially
- 31:24Speaker 5: the loafing at times, how they would just give up pursuit.
- 31:29Speaker 5: The lack of eye discipline with all the movements in
- 31:31Speaker 5: Florida State's offensive backfield baffling because you're just so accustomed
- 31:37Speaker 5: seeing those Crimson helmets and Crimson jerseys just absolutely manhandling people.
- 31:43Speaker 5: And they look like, I mean, goodness, gracious thok, like
- 31:46Speaker 5: the Mike Shula teams Alabama past. I mean, that's that's
- 31:51Speaker 5: exactly kind of what they look like to me whenever
- 31:53Speaker 5: I watch them. And I don't know how if that,
- 31:57Speaker 5: if that's popping up week one, how do you fix
- 32:01Speaker 5: that during the rest of the season, Because that's a
- 32:02Speaker 5: culture thing, right, that's the team camaraderie thing. You don't
- 32:06Speaker 5: just automatically overnight go all right, everybody was loafing on
- 32:10Speaker 5: like half our plays. Now, that's not going to happen.
- 32:13Speaker 5: I've got big questions about that. And oh man, it's
- 32:19Speaker 5: they're very talented. They're they're probably the most talented roster
- 32:22Speaker 5: in America, to be quite honest, and but for them
- 32:25Speaker 5: to lay an egg like they did at Florida State,
- 32:27Speaker 5: I mean, obviously it's an upset, But the way they
- 32:30Speaker 5: lost is if I was a Bama fan, I'd be
- 32:33Speaker 5: pissed off. That's not what Alabama football should be.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I mean, it's buy out. I think a seventy million dollars.
- 32:38Speaker 1: We saw Texas a NFPA massive buyout. Any chance that
- 32:42Speaker 1: that happened. Let's say they lose six games this year.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Any chance he gets bought out?
- 32:48Speaker 5: Oh yeah, Oh yeah, he'll get bought out. That happens. Yeah,
- 32:52Speaker 5: I mean, listen, as much as athletic directors complain about
- 32:57Speaker 5: there not being any money anymore because of nil and
- 32:59Speaker 5: the revenue sharing stuff, they'll find the money. You know,
- 33:04Speaker 5: college athletics for the last thirty to forty years, they
- 33:08Speaker 5: got monopoly money, man, and ain't real. They just spend it.
- 33:12Speaker 5: I mean they've got they're baxing out those credit cards
- 33:15Speaker 5: every day. They don't care. They just keep spending money
- 33:17Speaker 5: till the bank tells them. No.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Let's play fan fiction and this is total fiction. We
- 33:21Speaker 1: don't know if anything that's gonna happen. But who the
- 33:23Speaker 1: heck with Alabama hire? Because I I if they were,
- 33:25Speaker 1: and I don't know they're gonna fire it. I don't.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I don't think they're going to.
- 33:28Speaker 4: But is it? Dabo?
- 33:30Speaker 1: Dabo just lost again, they've been underperforming. Like, who the
- 33:33Speaker 1: heck with Alabama want to hire Lane Kiffin a the ships?
- 33:38Speaker 5: Maybe there would be people there that want them. Uh,
- 33:42Speaker 5: the Dabosweeney train has gone by the station that was
- 33:46Speaker 5: gonna happen. It would have happened a lot because two
- 33:49Speaker 5: years ago and that was nowhere near close to happening.
- 33:52Speaker 5: It's a great question who would you hire? Would you
- 33:56Speaker 5: would you go get one of Nick Saban's proteges, and
- 33:59Speaker 5: I think the top one out there, well, top two
- 34:01Speaker 5: or Steve Sarkisian at Texas and Lane Kiffin at Old miss.
- 34:06Speaker 5: I think Lane Kiffin's name makes a lot of sense though.
- 34:09Speaker 5: I think if the Florida job were to come open
- 34:12Speaker 5: at the same time as Bama, they maybe would end
- 34:14Speaker 5: up fighting over him. But you also have to take
- 34:17Speaker 5: into consideration. You know, every year we get like a
- 34:20Speaker 5: hot coach that comes up out of nowhere based off
- 34:24Speaker 5: of this this season, so watch that. Hey, why not?
- 34:27Speaker 5: I'll be quite honest with you. I think a great
- 34:29Speaker 5: fit would be Kurt Signetti from Indiana. He coached with
- 34:34Speaker 5: Nick Saban. He was on those first Nick Saban teams
- 34:37Speaker 5: at Alabama back way back when they lost to Louisiana
- 34:39Speaker 5: Monroe and then they turned the thing around the very
- 34:42Speaker 5: next year. And and Bobby, I mean, if you ever
- 34:44Speaker 5: listen to Kurt Signetti talk, that guy, you know, he's
- 34:48Speaker 5: a complete, like hard ass dick.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I mean, he's what it needs to be, You're right.
- 34:54Speaker 5: And he's entertaining. He gets it, and he gets this
- 34:57Speaker 5: era of college football. I mean, Indiana's winning and is
- 35:01Speaker 5: good and made the playoff last year because of the portal,
- 35:04Speaker 5: because of nil and because of Kurt Signetti. I think
- 35:07Speaker 5: he'd be a great fit at Alabama.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I don't know how much you got to watch because
- 35:10Speaker 1: you were actually at a game, but I don't know
- 35:13Speaker 1: if you got home in time to watch the South
- 35:14Speaker 1: Carolina Virginia that game. But I thought, Lenora Sellers, he's
- 35:18Speaker 1: a man. He's a man, yeah, you know.
- 35:21Speaker 5: And Virginia detect did a pretty good job slowing him
- 35:24Speaker 5: down on the run for the most part. But then
- 35:26Speaker 5: he took the top off there in the second half,
- 35:28Speaker 5: throwing that throwing that one touchdown pass. He's big time.
- 35:33Speaker 5: He's gonna change games for them. But South Carolina I
- 35:37Speaker 5: think got a very good preview. Now that the book.
- 35:40Speaker 5: The book, as they say, is out on Leonora's sellers
- 35:44Speaker 5: that they're gonna do everything to sell out to stop
- 35:47Speaker 5: him as a runner, because I'm not sure South Carolina
- 35:52Speaker 5: has the consistency and explosiveness at receiver to make people
- 35:57Speaker 5: pay quarter to quarter to quarter, because you know, it
- 36:01Speaker 5: only takes like one big pass or two to change
- 36:03Speaker 5: a game. We saw that for South Carolina in the
- 36:05Speaker 5: second half, but I was not very impressed with just
- 36:09Speaker 5: how missing an action South Carolina's receivers were for most
- 36:12Speaker 5: of the game.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I was rolling with you last night on Twitter as
- 36:15Speaker 1: I was watching the Notre Dame Miami game, and I
- 36:17Speaker 1: think I thought Carson Beck looked good and I was
- 36:20Speaker 1: surprised Notre Dame didn't pull it out. I guess I
- 36:23Speaker 1: just expected that brand in the Battle of the brands
- 36:26Speaker 1: to win your thoughts in the game.
- 36:29Speaker 5: Notre Dame's gotta give the ball to running back Jeremiah
- 36:32Speaker 5: love More. I understand that he's never been a heavy
- 36:36Speaker 5: workload running back, but I thought that hurt them in
- 36:40Speaker 5: that game. If Jeremiah love touches that ball five to
- 36:43Speaker 5: ten more times, they end up winning that game. Maybe
- 36:46Speaker 5: at Miami. I did not to say it's poetic justice
- 36:50Speaker 5: I don't know what you call it, but you know,
- 36:51Speaker 5: Mario Cristobal, he's always criticized for his late game clock management,
- 36:57Speaker 5: you know, calling timeouts we don't have any timeouts, or
- 37:00Speaker 5: running the ball when they should be kneeling it. And
- 37:03Speaker 5: last night I thought it was gonna pop up again
- 37:04Speaker 5: because they were just outside the red zone, little under
- 37:08Speaker 5: two minutes remaining, and they were just playing for a
- 37:10Speaker 5: field goal, like a long field goal, and they got
- 37:13Speaker 5: the clock down the one minute four seconds before kicking
- 37:16Speaker 5: a forty seven yard field goal, Like that's not the
- 37:18Speaker 5: spot you want to be in to win a game.
- 37:20Speaker 5: You get the other team another sixty four seconds to
- 37:24Speaker 5: try and win the game, and you've got a forty
- 37:28Speaker 5: seven yard field goal kick, which is nowhere near a gimme,
- 37:31Speaker 5: especially for a college kicker. But they converted, and then
- 37:34Speaker 5: Notre Dame got the ball back and they failed to
- 37:37Speaker 5: spike the ball, so then get one more play on
- 37:39Speaker 5: their last playing the clock ran out on them. So
- 37:42Speaker 5: Mario Cristobal, I guess his bad clock management curse kind
- 37:48Speaker 5: of went over to the Marcus Freeman in that sideline
- 37:50Speaker 5: that Notre Dame is better than what they showed Sunday night.
- 37:55Speaker 5: I think they're much better, and I just think they've
- 37:58Speaker 5: got a one yet. A first time started quarterback CJ.
- 38:01Speaker 5: Carr didn't quite know if he could be a good
- 38:03Speaker 5: runner for them like Riley Leonard last year. So but
- 38:06Speaker 5: he proved it last night. He was able to run.
- 38:08Speaker 5: But most of all, I just think you gotta give
- 38:09Speaker 5: Jeremiah Love the ball a little bit more, let him
- 38:11Speaker 5: run it. And the other thing is real quick is
- 38:15Speaker 5: that Notre Dames defensive line is not as good as
- 38:19Speaker 5: it was last year, and that carried them a lot
- 38:21Speaker 5: in some tight games last season. I'm interested to see
- 38:26Speaker 5: if that unit can improve game to game.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Going from memory, I believe you said if I ever
- 38:31Speaker 1: am near the red zone and put me in a
- 38:34Speaker 1: wood chipper. It was something like that. You were tweeted
- 38:36Speaker 1: last night, like and I don't go for it, put
- 38:37Speaker 1: me in a wood chipper.
- 38:38Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah. If we're in a two minute situation and
- 38:43Speaker 5: I'm outside the red zone, but I just keep running
- 38:45Speaker 5: the ball, put me in a wood chipper. You need
- 38:48Speaker 5: to throw the ball a little bit, try to get closer.
- 38:51Speaker 5: They know. I mean, I just didn't get that at all.
- 38:54Speaker 5: I mean, you're trying to say you're acting like you're
- 38:56Speaker 5: at the ten yard line saying, all right, let's just
- 38:58Speaker 5: move the ball to the middle of the field. Let's
- 38:59Speaker 5: run it. You got to throw a few passes when
- 39:02Speaker 5: you're fifty yards away from the field goal post.
- 39:05Speaker 8: Man.
- 39:05Speaker 5: I know you got confidence in your kicker, but but
- 39:07Speaker 5: don't put all that pressure on a college kicker. I mean,
- 39:09Speaker 5: that's a reason why hashtag college kickers trends every Saturday
- 39:14Speaker 5: on Twitter, because they're always messing up with even the
- 39:17Speaker 5: best ones.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Something else that you mentioned was Caleb Love. They got
- 39:22Speaker 1: him a lot more involved. They were putting a wide receiver,
- 39:23Speaker 1: They're movinghim around. He's got to stop jumping every time
- 39:25Speaker 1: he gets the ball. How many times here gonna try
- 39:27Speaker 1: to jump over me? And it worked once, but eventually
- 39:30Speaker 1: that's not going to work.
- 39:31Speaker 4: Well.
- 39:31Speaker 1: It's like every time he was trying to jump over people.
- 39:35Speaker 5: That's his thing. Man. He was doing the National Championship game,
- 39:38Speaker 5: throughout the playoff and last year. You know, I hear
- 39:40Speaker 5: people see that and they go that dude's gonna get hurt,
- 39:43Speaker 5: but he hasn't yet. You could fall awkwardly if you
- 39:45Speaker 5: get clipped real low when you're doing that. But he's
- 39:48Speaker 5: got the athleticism to do it. But also I think
- 39:51Speaker 5: that also leads into my previous point is that like,
- 39:53Speaker 5: he's never been a high workload running back, so he's
- 39:57Speaker 5: probably more willing to do that to jump and try to,
- 40:01Speaker 5: you know, out maneuver guys. But they I think they
- 40:05Speaker 5: need to again. I think they need to say, hey,
- 40:08Speaker 5: we got to give this guy the ball twenty five
- 40:10Speaker 5: thirty times a game, not just carrying it, but throwing
- 40:13Speaker 5: it to them. I mean, I understand that college football
- 40:17Speaker 5: is different these days. Running backs don't take that big
- 40:19Speaker 5: of a workload, but Notre Dame is not as good
- 40:24Speaker 5: as it was last year, and you've got to lean
- 40:27Speaker 5: on your star players. And Jeremiah Love, to me is
- 40:29Speaker 5: the best running back in the country. Use that. Don't
- 40:32Speaker 5: use them sparingly, use your best player.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I got two questions left. The Kansas State and North
- 40:39Speaker 1: Dakota game was weird, and you know, we had heard
- 40:42Speaker 1: and we just heard voices say, oh, you shouldn't go
- 40:45Speaker 1: play overseas because it's always weird when you come back,
- 40:47Speaker 1: and we're like, who knows how true that? Holy crap,
- 40:49Speaker 1: that might actually be a thing.
- 40:51Speaker 5: Yeah, but I will say Iowa State blew out their
- 40:53Speaker 5: FCS team on the same day. I think Kansas State's
- 40:57Speaker 5: got some issues. I do. I don't think their receivers
- 41:03Speaker 5: were as good as I thought they were going to
- 41:05Speaker 5: be coming in the transfer portal guys they added, and
- 41:11Speaker 5: you know, listen, Kansas State needs to prepare itself in
- 41:16Speaker 5: the Big twelve because there's gonna be a lot of
- 41:17Speaker 5: games like that, back and forth, tight down to the
- 41:20Speaker 5: fourth quarter. But you don't need to be playing those
- 41:23Speaker 5: type of games against an FCS opponent. You can't do
- 41:26Speaker 5: that every week in addition to your conference games. Kansas
- 41:29Speaker 5: State worries me now. In fact, I in my top
- 41:32Speaker 5: twenty five was putting together. I dropped Kansas State out obviously,
- 41:36Speaker 5: but I also dropped Iowa State out because suddenly Iowa
- 41:39Speaker 5: State's win doesn't look all that good. So I'm gonna
- 41:42Speaker 5: be more patient about Iowa State until they beat someone
- 41:45Speaker 5: else on their schedule. I'm I'm kind of disappointed in
- 41:47Speaker 5: kandas State at this point.
- 41:49Speaker 1: All right, final question. I watched Darkansas play Alabama A
- 41:52Speaker 1: and M I'm sure you have watched it back. They
- 41:55Speaker 1: were much smaller than us. They were again, it was
- 41:58Speaker 1: an FCS school it didn't really show us anything. We
- 42:02Speaker 1: didn't cover. I don't know we got I was trying
- 42:05Speaker 1: to explain to the guys here because we don't play
- 42:08Speaker 1: Arkansas State we're playing Arkansas State this next week. Why
- 42:10Speaker 1: we're doing it. It's fun for the state, I guess.
- 42:13Speaker 1: But we've we've really we really haven't done it. We're
- 42:15Speaker 1: playing in a more memorial. Do we have any shot
- 42:17Speaker 1: to win six games this year?
- 42:18Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 42:19Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so. I'm worried about the defense.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Oh, they like they like like like Swiss cheese against
- 42:28Speaker 1: the bad ALBA and M team.
- 42:31Speaker 5: I'm very worried about that. I will say this, like
- 42:35Speaker 5: they're running back. They got transferred in Mike Washington. He's legit.
- 42:40Speaker 5: You know. Back in early August when campus started, I
- 42:43Speaker 5: was talking to some of the coaches there and they
- 42:45Speaker 5: told me this guy is like got all sec type ability.
- 42:49Speaker 5: And I think he showed a little bit of that
- 42:51Speaker 5: against Alabama and M. But again, it's like one of
- 42:52Speaker 5: those games like he just can't read too much into it.
- 42:54Speaker 5: But they are going to be very very good offensively,
- 42:58Speaker 5: but defensively, I've I've got concerns. I got. I got
- 43:02Speaker 5: a lot of faith in tea will being able to
- 43:04Speaker 5: kind of figure things out as they go along. But
- 43:07Speaker 5: sometimes talents talent, you know, there's only so much coaching
- 43:10Speaker 5: you do and scheming you can do. But I'm not
- 43:16Speaker 5: excited for the Arkansas State game. Man, I I don't
- 43:19Speaker 5: I telling I'm kind of a I'm kind of like
- 43:22Speaker 5: Frank Broyle's like, we should never play them.
- 43:24Speaker 1: I know, she.
- 43:25Speaker 5: Don't open that door because what happens if what if
- 43:29Speaker 5: you lose to them, what if it's even just a
- 43:31Speaker 5: close game and you win, you open the door. And
- 43:34Speaker 5: in a state like Arkansas, only two million something people here,
- 43:38Speaker 5: you don't need to be splitting up the fan base
- 43:40Speaker 5: or starting up a new trend. Yeah, don't do it.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Don't schedule this game. I'm it's shocking to me that
- 43:47Speaker 5: they agree. Not only that, but they're playing a little
- 43:49Speaker 5: rock like no.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Like everything's off. Yes, play play in the home where
- 43:54Speaker 1: Arkansas feels like they're at home. They have the advantage.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I agree, we don't have enough doors to open one
- 43:58Speaker 1: one of the doors for people to man, I agree.
- 44:01Speaker 1: I was just giving up. They all went to sleep,
- 44:03Speaker 1: and I was telling him the Frank Broyle story, like
- 44:05Speaker 1: all of this. But yeah, it's like do it once
- 44:07Speaker 1: and then never again.
- 44:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I will say this, maybe it's a blessing, dis
- 44:11Speaker 5: guys that the SEC is going to move to nine games,
- 44:13Speaker 5: so then they can just go Yeah. See Arkansas State
- 44:15Speaker 5: is why we can't schedule in the future games. We
- 44:17Speaker 5: don't have enough. We don't have spots anymore.
- 44:19Speaker 1: For you, well, thank you for the time as always.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Brandon Marcelo follow him on Twitter at b Marcelo, which
- 44:25Speaker 1: I do. I was felt like I was sitting beside
- 44:27Speaker 1: you watching the game last night, just taking it all in.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Where are you going next week? You on the road again?
- 44:32Speaker 5: Yeah, Michigan OU.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Oh that's a good one.
- 44:35Speaker 5: Yeah, would look good, Michigan coach.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Yeah, Bryce Oonno, would look good.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Though.
- 44:40Speaker 5: He's got a whip on him, don'ty man. I mean
- 44:42Speaker 5: his the throwing motion is fantastic. He had a good game.
- 44:47Speaker 5: Is Sharon Moore Michigan coach. Man coming back to his
- 44:50Speaker 5: alma mater at OU where he played. That's uh, now,
- 44:54Speaker 5: you looks good. John Mattier at quarterback, the offenses rolling.
- 44:58Speaker 5: He leads the FBS and last season in games with
- 45:01Speaker 5: three hundred and fifty plus yards three touchdowns. It's game
- 45:05Speaker 5: of the week. But that one could be like back
- 45:07Speaker 5: and forth, like really really good when we see like
- 45:10Speaker 5: two quarterbacks just throwing it out on the field trying
- 45:12Speaker 5: to get in the Heisman race.
- 45:14Speaker 1: I feel like Oklahoma every year has like a coach.
- 45:16Speaker 1: It's Tennessee last year, it's Showing Moore this year. Like
- 45:18Speaker 1: Oklahoma's always got a coach coming back for vengeance every year.
- 45:22Speaker 1: One big game. All right, Brandon, thank you for the time, Buddy.
- 45:24Speaker 1: We'll see you next week.
- 45:24Speaker 5: All right, see you, Bobby say buddy.
- 45:26Speaker 1: The rivalry is the marching bands, the upsets. Saturdays just

- 47:00Speaker 1: I just so everybody knows, we recorded this before the
- 47:03Speaker 1: episode we had today. I wanted to get Eddie's fresh
- 47:05Speaker 1: reaction to Michael Parsons being traded. This was late Friday.
- 47:08Speaker 1: We recorded this when everybody didn't know, and we were
- 47:12Speaker 1: flying back from Savannah, Georgia yesterday and somebody goes I
- 47:16Speaker 1: was Brandon Brandy goes hey, Michael Parsons traded the Packers.
- 47:20Speaker 1: We were like, ha ha, it's.
- 47:22Speaker 4: That moment, Kevin. You know where you finally get sent
- 47:25Speaker 4: You're so close to the ground that you get signal
- 47:26Speaker 4: on your phone.
- 47:27Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I.
- 47:30Speaker 4: Start coming through.
- 47:31Speaker 1: So what are your thoughts. You've had a day?
- 47:33Speaker 4: Yeah, go, I'm shocked. You may have noticed I'm not
- 47:38Speaker 4: wearing any Cowboys gear.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Oh we didn't notice.
- 47:40Speaker 4: It's you know, I usually wear a Cowboys hat, not
- 47:44Speaker 4: wearing that today. But it's not because of this. Like,
- 47:48Speaker 4: am I shocked by this? Absolutely? I thought one hundred
- 47:51Speaker 4: that they were going to figure out a deal. We
- 47:53Speaker 4: were going to get right to the start of the season,
- 47:55Speaker 4: which we were right at that moment, and they're gonna say,
- 47:57Speaker 4: Mike is still a Cowboys. We're good right now. A problem.
- 48:00Speaker 1: See the Michael Irvin clip right like one minute before
- 48:03Speaker 1: he's like, they're not trading him. I guarantee it. They're
- 48:06Speaker 1: not trading him. That's how I felt one minute later. Boom.
- 48:10Speaker 4: But here's the thing, I'm not mad about it. I
- 48:14Speaker 4: am now understanding that this year is down the toilet.
- 48:18Speaker 4: Like I was so excited for this year.
- 48:20Speaker 1: But you thought Michael Parsons would have been the difference
- 48:21Speaker 1: this year.
- 48:22Speaker 4: I think that we would have gotten we had a chance.
- 48:25Speaker 4: I mean, you got you got a pretty good squad
- 48:27Speaker 4: off in the offense, You've got Micah kind of rounds
- 48:30Speaker 4: out the defense. Yes, I thought that we had a
- 48:32Speaker 4: pretty good shot this year. I went into the year thinking, yes,
- 48:35Speaker 4: we could definitely be a contender this year. This tells
- 48:38Speaker 4: me immediately we're trashing this year.
- 48:40Speaker 1: So you know what that tells me that you guys
- 48:41Speaker 1: have a chance this year. If all the Cowboy fans
- 48:44Speaker 1: are feeling like it's over, I feel like you might
- 48:46Speaker 1: have a shot. I mean, Kenny Clark's good, he's pro bowler.
- 48:48Speaker 1: He's not Michael Parsons, right, But I feel like the
- 48:51Speaker 1: Cowboys because they weren't going to pay Mike that money.
- 48:54Speaker 1: I think it gonna be in a forty seven million
- 48:56Speaker 1: a year, and I can play some of these clips.
- 48:57Speaker 1: They weren't going to pay him. That's what it was
- 48:59Speaker 1: all about, whether they didn't want them, but they already
- 49:01Speaker 1: paid Dak a ton. They already paid an So I
- 49:06Speaker 1: feel like because the Cowboys they didn't want to pay
- 49:08Speaker 1: Michael Parsons that. I'm not a Cowboys fan, so I
- 49:10Speaker 1: can say this. I feel like they came out pretty
- 49:12Speaker 1: good from this trade. They weren't gonna win this year anyway,
- 49:14Speaker 1: You were wrong about having a shot this year. Every
- 49:16Speaker 1: year got two first round picks. Next year's draft is
- 49:19Speaker 1: so it?
- 49:20Speaker 4: Yeah? Oh I know, So I'm.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Gonna play some Jerry Jones clubs here. Jerry Jones talked
- 49:24Speaker 1: about the timeline of things hit that please.
- 49:26Speaker 8: This trade was not just thought about today. This trade
- 49:32Speaker 8: has been going on in our minds and our strategies
- 49:35Speaker 8: and being talked about. It's been going on all spring.
- 49:41Speaker 8: It culminated today and it came quick. But that's the
- 49:44Speaker 8: way things go. It does happen fast. When it happens,
- 49:48Speaker 8: I love it.
- 49:49Speaker 4: That's the way things go. That's how things go.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Yea, yeah, that's just the way it goes.
- 49:52Speaker 4: Many words, you know.
- 49:54Speaker 1: There was some controversy and it did continue to bubble
- 49:58Speaker 1: where Jerry was trying to negotiate with my without an agent,
- 50:01Speaker 1: and even like that player Association came out like this
- 50:06Speaker 1: is not cool, like and you're not supposed to do that.
- 50:08Speaker 4: How you do it in old school Texas though, Man,
- 50:10Speaker 4: just you.
- 50:10Speaker 1: Know, yeah, that's how you do an oil deal in
- 50:12Speaker 1: the eighties.
- 50:13Speaker 7: Yeah, when he bought the team.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Here's the second clip. Go ahead.
- 50:16Speaker 8: There's no question that I could have signed him in April.
- 50:20Speaker 8: We all know that to have agreements, all parties have
- 50:25Speaker 8: to agree. But this was by design. I did make
- 50:32Speaker 8: my cun offer. It wasn't acceptable, and I honored the
- 50:37Speaker 8: fact that it wasn't done in the way that he
- 50:41Speaker 8: wanted to do it through an agent.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Here is him talking about the draft picks that they
- 50:48Speaker 1: got for him.
- 50:49Speaker 8: He was an asset that we got four great years
- 50:52Speaker 8: out of. But when you are talking about making a
- 50:56Speaker 8: contract the kind that he got and for the future,
- 50:59Speaker 8: that it's quite a commitment. And I'm just going to
- 51:02Speaker 8: give you this, not only do we immediately get a player,
- 51:05Speaker 8: but those draft picks could get us. I'm talking top
- 51:08Speaker 8: Pro Bowl type players could not necessarily gonna be quick
- 51:12Speaker 8: to say you won't necessarily get those players. You got
- 51:14Speaker 8: to draft them or acquirm.
- 51:16Speaker 1: And then finally he does talk a bit about Kenny Clark.
- 51:20Speaker 8: Here, the facts are, we need to stop the run.
- 51:23Speaker 8: We haven't been able to stop the run at key
- 51:24Speaker 8: times for several years. When you have the kind of
- 51:29Speaker 8: extraordinary pass rush that Michael had, then the way to
- 51:33Speaker 8: mitigate that pass rush is to run at you. If
- 51:35Speaker 8: the pass rush doesn't get you ahead pretty big time
- 51:39Speaker 8: and you're playing even or behind, then you've really got
- 51:42Speaker 8: a problem in stopping the run.
- 51:44Speaker 4: Logical, what's he what's he doing with a Michael thing?
- 51:48Speaker 4: Like he knows it's not his name, and he continues
- 51:50Speaker 4: to do it over and over. His name is Micah,
- 51:53Speaker 4: and he continues to call him Michael.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Is this he's ninety?
- 51:56Speaker 4: I know, I understand that. So that's my question for you.
- 51:58Speaker 4: Is it an old man who just kind of forgets
- 52:01Speaker 4: what he's saying, or is this a thing where he's
- 52:04Speaker 4: just like, I'll disrespect him in a different way, I'll
- 52:06Speaker 4: call him by the wrong name.
- 52:07Speaker 1: I think he's old. Okay, Yeah, I think so too.
- 52:10Speaker 7: He did call him Micah at one point.
- 52:12Speaker 1: He goes back and forth. I think he's old, okay.
- 52:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:15Speaker 1: And so and also we know because we did a
- 52:17Speaker 1: new episode today that's out today, But we did record
- 52:20Speaker 1: this as it was still pretty fresh to Eddie because eddie'
- 52:22Speaker 1: is a Diard Cowboys fan. Now after you heard those clips,
- 52:25Speaker 1: are you convinced that Jerry knows what he's doing?
- 52:27Speaker 4: I still I've always I've always believed that Jerry and
- 52:31Speaker 4: his sons know what they're doing. I believe that Steven
- 52:36Speaker 4: Jones a smart dude, Like I think he has huge
- 52:39Speaker 4: influence on his dad. He's the next guy in line.
- 52:42Speaker 4: They know what they're doing. They are smart people. I
- 52:44Speaker 4: understand that. And this is a thing that happens in
- 52:48Speaker 4: all the Cowboy We're probably gonna lose thirty percent of
- 52:51Speaker 4: our fan base. Like, yes, that's the Cowboys. Man, they're
- 52:53Speaker 4: just gonna be.
- 52:53Speaker 1: I don't think you'll lose any real fans. You just
- 52:55Speaker 1: suck it up and go with it. It's our classic Cowboys.
- 52:59Speaker 4: But you have young kids. It's like you have like
- 53:00Speaker 4: my like young kids that are starting to like the Cowboys.
- 53:03Speaker 4: This stuff like this is gonna be like I'm out.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Maybe I don't think so. You guys don't think so.
- 53:09Speaker 7: That'll get you out. But with football, like.
- 53:12Speaker 1: This happened two starters, and yeah, if it's a quarterback,
- 53:16Speaker 1: I could see that. Yeah, but if it was offense,
- 53:19Speaker 1: I could see that, and not that defense doesn't matter.
- 53:21Speaker 1: But it's an offensive league now in the NFL.
- 53:24Speaker 7: Yeah, that's why they play paid CD and paid deck.
- 53:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:27Speaker 4: I love I love the future. I love looking into
- 53:29Speaker 4: the future. I mean, yes, this tells me that we're
- 53:32Speaker 4: looking at a solid team in twenty twenty eight, possibly
- 53:40Speaker 4: chance for the Super Bowl twenty twenty.
- 53:41Speaker 7: Will Dak be there?
- 53:42Speaker 4: No? And I think that's what this does.
- 53:44Speaker 1: I also say quarterback, will Jerry be there? And probably not?
- 53:47Speaker 5: So?
- 53:48Speaker 4: Oh gosh, anything about that.
- 53:50Speaker 1: I don't think he sees the fruit of his labor here.
- 53:52Speaker 4: But but he's all he's been very vocal about. It's
- 53:55Speaker 4: not really much about him anymore. It's about the next generation.
- 53:58Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:58Speaker 1: I think if he were doing this for now, for
- 54:01Speaker 1: him to get a championship before he dies, he'd have
- 54:03Speaker 1: kept Michael Parsons or Michael Parsons either one. But I
- 54:08Speaker 1: think he literally, regardless of you think he's doing a
- 54:10Speaker 1: good job or bad job, I think he's doing a
- 54:11Speaker 1: job for the future of the team. I think this
- 54:15Speaker 1: was a as far as Jerry Jones being a quote
- 54:17Speaker 1: unquote selfish or non selfish owner. I think this is
- 54:19Speaker 1: a non selfish move because he's probably not going to
- 54:22Speaker 1: see this turnout the way he would like to see
- 54:24Speaker 1: it turn out, because he's not gonna be a live.
- 54:25Speaker 4: Yeah, it's gonna be a few years.
- 54:27Speaker 7: So do you wish they would have done it back
- 54:29Speaker 7: in April before the draft?
- 54:30Speaker 4: Yes?
- 54:30Speaker 7: I know it's hindsight is twenty twenty, but like that's
- 54:32Speaker 7: a big thing. It's like the timing of it is
- 54:34Speaker 7: just awful.
- 54:35Speaker 4: It's all the Cowboys though, right, Like, isn't it the
- 54:37Speaker 4: Cowboys just to make things real dramatic and go all
- 54:40Speaker 4: the way to the very end and then by bom
- 54:42Speaker 4: then we got headlines for a whole week.
- 54:44Speaker 1: You usually make the signing though, Yeah, after dragging it
- 54:47Speaker 1: out and you just pay more money.
- 54:51Speaker 4: Man, the Packers are going to be good.
- 54:52Speaker 7: That's the thing. The draft pick is. I mean, you
- 54:54Speaker 7: got to figure out what were the Packers' early twenties.
- 54:56Speaker 7: This year is probably going to be mid to late twenties.
- 54:59Speaker 4: But you can trade up, right.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but not even that. I was saying that yesterday.
- 55:02Speaker 1: I'm the plane flying back.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:03Speaker 1: The difference is in the NBA, you got five starters
- 55:06Speaker 1: it's so much harder to get an impact player in
- 55:09Speaker 1: the bottom half of the first round, especially the second round.
- 55:12Speaker 1: In the NFL, you have twenty two different positions. It
- 55:16Speaker 1: first round, second round picks are extremely valuable. So I
- 55:20Speaker 1: do think this is a bit different because, yeah, the
- 55:21Speaker 1: package is gonna be good. It's going to be a
- 55:23Speaker 1: second half of the first round. Sure, you could train
- 55:25Speaker 1: them both and they'll have their own pick, which is
- 55:27Speaker 1: going to be bad, so it's gonna be up.
- 55:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:30Speaker 1: I mean they're not going to be that good.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Don't even know.
- 55:32Speaker 1: So they've also kind of cut them cut their legs
- 55:34Speaker 1: out in a positive way, meaning they're not going to
- 55:36Speaker 1: be as good this year, which is going to improve
- 55:38Speaker 1: their draft stock the next year. Yeah, it'll be interesting.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I don't hate it. I'm not a Cowboys fan. If
- 55:45Speaker 1: I as a Cowboys fan, I think I would hate
- 55:46Speaker 1: it because you've done so many stupid things that you're like, well,
- 55:49Speaker 1: this is probably just another stupid thing. Yeah, it's how
- 55:51Speaker 1: I feel about Arkansas sometimes, and.
- 55:53Speaker 4: You can look at it with a clear eye too.
- 55:54Speaker 1: I think I don't hate it. I really don't hate it.
- 55:58Speaker 1: You got two first round picks straft class, not only
- 56:00Speaker 1: in quarterbacks, but even in like skilled defensive positions, very
- 56:05Speaker 1: tons of talent, one of the best in like ten years.
- 56:09Speaker 1: And if you don't think Michael Parsons is gonna flip it,
- 56:13Speaker 1: and he's asking for that much money, forty seven million
- 56:15Speaker 1: a year and you already are paying CD and DAK,
- 56:17Speaker 1: you have to make some hard decisions.
- 56:19Speaker 7: Yeah, somebody's got to.
- 56:19Speaker 4: Go, and he's right. Stopping the run game has been
- 56:21Speaker 4: difficult for the Cowboys last year to stop anything now, no, no,
- 56:25Speaker 4: And yeah, like I said, like, I'm I'm not really
- 56:27Speaker 4: looking forward to this year, but it's fine.
- 56:29Speaker 1: You will and you'll be back in I gotta I
- 56:30Speaker 1: gotta feeling too, you're gonna be back, Mike, you're also
- 56:33Speaker 1: a Cowboys fan. Your thoughts.
- 56:34Speaker 6: I hated it at first because I feel like this
- 56:36Speaker 6: is a bad way just to make the team feel
- 56:39Speaker 6: like everybody comes to the very end, nobody's gonna want
- 56:40Speaker 6: to play for us, like, oh, you're gonna go into
- 56:42Speaker 6: this business where they just don't care about you. I
- 56:44Speaker 6: think even the reason he calls them Michael is because
- 56:46Speaker 6: he just sees these people as assets.
- 56:48Speaker 1: But that's what you are in the NFL.
- 56:50Speaker 6: You but us as fans we feel him is like,
- 56:53Speaker 6: we're fans and then we like these people.
- 56:54Speaker 1: Can you imagine a fans made the decision on the team.
- 56:56Speaker 4: Oh God, And that's fine.
- 56:57Speaker 6: That's what the uproar from Cowboys fans is like, we
- 56:59Speaker 6: will see the turn, Yes, we don't see the road ahead.
- 57:02Speaker 4: I do love the fans. They're just like just pay him, Like, oh,
- 57:04Speaker 4: that's easy for you to say, like it's not your money, and.
- 57:07Speaker 1: It's also not the cap. You're trying to manage, right,
- 57:10Speaker 1: like they're not having a seat. How you're gonna pay
- 57:13Speaker 1: it this year, but two and three years down the road,
- 57:15Speaker 1: and how that's gonna do. So, Yes, it's weird. He's awesome,
- 57:20Speaker 1: but I understand he was asking. The deal was like
- 57:24Speaker 1: forty one and forty two with the Cowboys they offered him.
- 57:26Speaker 1: They didn't think he was gonna get that, and even
- 57:28Speaker 1: getting forty seven with the Packers.
- 57:29Speaker 4: Got more with the Packers. Yeah, it's pretty awesome. Everybody
- 57:31Speaker 4: good for him.
- 57:32Speaker 1: Everybody wins except Ready.
- 57:34Speaker 7: I almost texted you. I was like, I just I
- 57:36Speaker 7: got it. I appreciate I got to see him in person.
- 57:38Speaker 4: I only got my mom's in town, so she would
- 57:40Speaker 4: have been the main text. So she was she you know,
- 57:42Speaker 4: didn't text. Obviously she's with me. But I'm just glad
- 57:45Speaker 4: friends didn't text. I was with you.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I was with you in person. We had a Packers
- 57:49Speaker 1: fan with this too.
- 57:50Speaker 4: That's the worst two.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Rod is a massive Packers fan.
- 57:55Speaker 4: Next to me, dude, I'm just like, of course the
- 57:57Speaker 4: news would break with you next to.
- 57:58Speaker 7: Me, that's awesome. I would have been all of in
- 57:59Speaker 7: your face.
- 58:00Speaker 1: You would have yeah, sure, Hey, what to do you
- 58:04Speaker 1: guys want to be in her? Now you thought about it?
- 58:07Speaker 4: Oh, I've been thinking about it.
- 58:09Speaker 7: Same.
- 58:09Speaker 4: I've been thinking about.
- 58:10Speaker 1: It because it could be expensive.
- 58:11Speaker 4: I know. That's that's what worries me. Like a little
- 58:13Speaker 4: bit we.
- 58:14Speaker 1: Could, I would say, I hate to say most that
- 58:16Speaker 1: we could lose in.
- 58:17Speaker 4: This, but but give us a ballpark, just the ballpark
- 58:20Speaker 4: of the most you could lose, like and you could
- 58:22Speaker 4: even be drastic about it. There could be a million dollars. No, no, no,
- 58:26Speaker 4: a million. We won't have that.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Let me see if Stelle answer the phone, because he
- 58:32Speaker 1: runs it.
- 58:33Speaker 7: Okay, Stell, he would run.
- 58:38Speaker 4: He would run something.
- 58:40Speaker 1: Matt Stell say, answer.
- 58:45Speaker 4: Stringing that bush light.
- 58:53Speaker 1: You call it hidden answer. I would say worst, like
- 58:59Speaker 1: word worst.
- 59:00Speaker 4: It's like for for one like one per we're gonna
- 59:02Speaker 4: split whatever. You're the whole team.
- 59:04Speaker 1: I'm gonna say the whole team long yeah yeah, but
- 59:06Speaker 1: you're talking about worst. Worst is like six grand. Okay,
- 59:11Speaker 1: but that's that's absolute worst case scenario. So it could happen.
- 59:14Speaker 1: And I've seen best case scenario win six seven thousand dollars.
- 59:18Speaker 1: I think I won four last year, but the two
- 59:21Speaker 1: years before that I did not. I lost like twenty
- 59:23Speaker 1: five hundred the first year. I didn't really know I
- 59:24Speaker 1: was doing it all, almost like eight hundred. The second year.
- 59:27Speaker 1: Here we go, Hey, you're on, so you're being recorded. Okay,
- 59:32Speaker 1: all right. I'm talking with Eddie and Kickoff Kevin about
- 59:35Speaker 1: our draft of Team League, and I'm asking them if
- 59:40Speaker 1: they want to come in as a partner with me,
- 59:42Speaker 1: because I've never had a partner before and I think
- 59:43Speaker 1: it'd be fun to have them hop in. But that
- 59:45Speaker 1: being said, they asked, what's the most you can lose.
- 59:49Speaker 3: In?
- 59:49Speaker 1: Okay, the most it's been lost at Skins League that
- 59:52Speaker 1: I've ever seen. No, no, No, do our league? Do
- 59:54Speaker 1: our league?
- 59:54Speaker 4: Don't do all time world records?
- 59:57Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, league.
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: Somebody probably lost like like an owner, what like five
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: six thousand last year?
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I told him. I said, six was
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: probably the most I've ever seen. And what about most
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: one in our league?
- 1:00:10Speaker 7: Do you think actually the Chandlers had the greatest team
- 1:00:14Speaker 7: in Skinsy history last year and I think they won,
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: like I think they won something like eleven.
- 1:00:19Speaker 4: Thousand, Oh my goodness, yeah, eleven twelve thousand.
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: Yeah, that's what you get when you have a former
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: NFL Buffalo Bills tight end as one of the players
- 1:00:30Speaker 7: the owners against you.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: So what would you say to them as they're considering
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: hopping in here on the bones team.
- 1:00:36Speaker 7: I'd say, come on in the waters?
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Fine, right, absolutely, I just didn't. I couldn't give them
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: even a semi educated guest on how much they could
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: lose at the ceiling of loss and then the ceiling
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: of victory. But I appreciate the help.
- 1:00:52Speaker 4: Yeah, are you going to send them the sprintsheet? But yeah,
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: I'm glad I could help.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, thanks man, thanks Matt would yeah generate?
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: Oh yeah, he loved doing. One of my favorite people
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: in the world. Though.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I remember the cake eating.
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: You tried to turn a gamely into that.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: We went to casino with that guy and I lost
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: him for like two hours before you go. We eventually
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: found him at six seven.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: By the way, he's like Bruno Mars where Bruno Mars
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: got into such daddy had to play all those shows
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: in Vegas. He had residency. Matt Stell's doing I've been
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: down to sing, he said, Beach, you walk over. He's
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: playing in a bar, just trying to get his money back.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: You want a decision now, Well, we kind of need so.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: This show because we're recording this ahead this show, and
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: this is gonna be the end of the segment or
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: the end of the show. But yeah, we draft tomorrow night,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: so which is Tuesday night.
- 1:01:46Speaker 7: Okay, And then as far as the draft goes, are
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: we all going to be together drafting or what? Or
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: do you just draft?
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: You can be on phone on speaker. I'd like for
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: you guys to be there.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: If I'm going to ask for help, I'm probably go
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: lean on Kevin a little more.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Whoa, whoa, We're a team, dude, What are you talking about?
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: You wouldn't value my opinion with when it comes to drafting. Yeah,
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: you imagine, you imagine have an NFL team, like he
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: said they were in this draft. I figured out how
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: to do it pretty well.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: And then I know, I know, and then that. But
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: but then I might have just got lucky one year
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: because I kind of cheated the system.
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: Why trust you mostly? Like I would trust you ninety
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: nine percent, But if I have this one percent, I'm like, dude,
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: I have we need to go this way.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: That's why I would want you guys to be a
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: part of it. You could come to the house. We
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: do it a like set. You can just be on speaker. Yeah,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: whatever the case is.
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: Do you think you want to be in Yeah, I'm
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: leaning that way.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: Me too, Yeah, me too, I'm leaning that way. So
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: I love that.
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: Okay, here's what we can do. We can do fifty
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: twenty five, twenty five. If you don't want to do
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: thirty three thirty three thirty three it's complicated, No, it's not.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: It's complicated.
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Well, what if the payout's going to be complicated, then.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: You just divide it by four and that's the number
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: you get.
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: All I'm trying to do is minimize your risk. You
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: want to do thirty three thirty three three?
- 1:03:00Speaker 7: Great, don't listen, Eddie, I'm good with fifty twenty five
- 1:03:03Speaker 7: twenty five, you're not good with a three. The three
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: I mean, I can do that too, but I'm just saying,
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: if Eddie's.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: Dying for a three way, dude, I've been dreaming of
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: tream with.
- 1:03:11Speaker 7: Us lifes damn boys, I could do I'll yeah, I'm
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: leaning towards either one.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Okay, this is what I would suggesting. I would suggest
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: this is your first year, dude, I'll take fifty percent
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: of the load. YouTube together will take the other fIF
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: percent of the load.
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: On your head, who's load?
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Just you're taking the load, So both of me, so
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: fifty and then you guys have the other fifty percent
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: of the team, which equals up being twenty five to
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: twenty five. So it's just if we lose one thousand bucks,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I have to get five hundred and we give two
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: in your collective unit has to give me five hundred.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: That's split in half two thirty. I'm doing it for Eddie,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: who's math no challenge.
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: I'm I'm this caalculi Leah.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Do you want to do that? Fifty twenty five to
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: twenty five?
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: If you dude, if you like that better, let's just
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: do that that's fine.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I'm in on that, Eddie.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: Yeah, sure, I'm in. Okay, Yeah, we win the big
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: you you realize we win the big one, Dude, we
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: win a lot of money. It's gonna be small.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: It's only seven percent smaller.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: Still, you're gonna miss that seven percent. You're going to
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: miss it. It's like playing a slot machine. Do where
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: and you're just like, I'm just gonna put a quarter
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: instead of a whole dollar.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: I know, yeah, but you lose that dollar. I'm losing
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: a lot more.
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: We'll trying to convince them, dude, get more load.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: You want more load? I thought you want.
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: I want all the load, guys, Yeah, all the load. No,
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: I'm in if you want to do thirty three, like,
- 1:04:26Speaker 7: I'm also okay with that.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: I mean, I feel guilty if we start losing a
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: bune I know, I know, I know. And then Eddie's okay,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: So I don't want to press you anymore to do that.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: You guys make your decision. None, you're the other fifty percent,
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: which means your twenty about twenty five or we're all equal.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: It's fine, Kevin, we can go fifty. I'm cool with that. Yeah,
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: and you'll never hear me complain about it again, I
- 1:04:46Speaker 4: don't believe that.
- 1:04:46Speaker 7: That's okay, you know that's that's for sure a lot.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Okay, So fifty twenty five, twenty five perfect, let's do it. Hey,
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: the draft is like Tuesday night at seven fifty.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: Fifty. It sounds better that way.
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: Fifty and then that's a big circle I gotta do
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: for that year. Fifty Okay, why is there a Titan's
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: helmet here? So I literally look back and just saw
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: this helmet.
- 1:05:18Speaker 7: Yeah, I put I put it there. I almost forgot
- 1:05:21Speaker 7: about it too, but it's because you know how the
- 1:05:23Speaker 7: Titans came to do some like behind the scenes documentary
- 1:05:26Speaker 7: stuff with you and Castle for the NFL podcast that
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: you do and lots to say. So then the next
- 1:05:31Speaker 7: day the guy hit me up, one of the guys
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: I was there to film, and he's like, hey, I
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: have get this a game worn helmet. What the that
- 1:05:40Speaker 7: I would love to give to Bobby and the guys
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: for the podcast or to put wherever?
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: That's that I asked.
- 1:05:45Speaker 7: I was like, dude, who wore it? He's like, I
- 1:05:46Speaker 7: don't know exactly, but it's somebody that was number seventy
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: in the last five to ten years whatever that means.
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: It's pretty clean though, I.
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: Know, but there are some marks on it you can
- 1:05:53Speaker 7: see up close. Awesome, it's game warn well I will.
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: We'll take this to the studio. It's cool. We're gonna
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: have a whole new studio the next six months anyway,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: so perfect. We'll put it in there, okay. And then
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I have this from Coach Stoops at Kentucky. What you
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: haven't opened yet? Came quick?
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: Wow, just some time though.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: I have a Kentucky helmet, and it's very nice for
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: him to send this. What color it is?
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: It's blue?
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: If it's white, it's like a gender reveal.
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: Here, we're gonna do it pink.
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like we're breaking a helmet. Okay, okay,
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: you need a knife or something. I haven't switch blade.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: I think I have it.
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: Okay, here we go.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Oh there's oh cool, there's some there's some stuff in

- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Well, they're stuffing it.

- 1:07:02Speaker 1: That is sick yep, that is a sweet helmet to Bobby.

- 1:07:34Speaker 4: don't know what that means. Set the seventy five back there.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: It's probably like whatever they're honoring that. It's probably on
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: all the helmets. Okay, here we go from coach Bobby,
