- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Ooh today we are talking about the fun little facts that we
- 0:35miss in our lives that are just oh such great lessons as they go
- 0:40along. So many of you may know if you
- 0:43follow me on social media as well.
- 0:46I'm always doing projects. Love projects, love to be
- 0:50working on things. Just bringing out creativity and
- 0:54whatnot. But one of my special Favorite
- 0:57Things is to work on stuff for the girls at the chicken coop
- 1:00because I don't know, I'm just a nurture and that's just the
- 1:04things that I love to do. And one of the things that I
- 1:07wanted to do was put a string of lights.
- 1:09Solar lights, don't have any power to the coop because it can
- 1:13be dangerous. But I wanted to put a string of
- 1:16solar lights across the front of the coop.
- 1:18So Costco one day and I buy this beautiful perfect size string of
- 1:25lights, Edison Light Bulbs to run across the front of the
- 1:28coop. I say to my And because it's
- 1:31very high up I'm like, hey can you help me with this?
- 1:34And of course he says yes, no problem.
- 1:36And you have to set them all up and put the string up and it's
- 1:40got this, nice big fat, little solar panel on it and I'm super
- 1:44excited and we put them up and he says, you have to wait three
- 1:47days to charge this up. That's the directions and I'm
- 1:50like, three days. That's insane.
- 1:52And, of course, I'm resistant to waiting because I have no
- 1:56patience in my own life and always have to work on that.
- 1:58But I'm progressing. Right.
- 2:01I'm like, okay, three days. I'm going to wait three days.
- 2:03We're going to see this happen. He switches it on and lo and
- 2:07behold nothing happens. I'm like, how can that be?
- 2:11So we take the panel down, look at the buttons, because
- 2:14sometimes, on the solar things, the little buttons are
- 2:16different. But these this is a really nice
- 2:18little panel it should work. So, take it down, have it?
- 2:22Look at it. Now, my son happens to be the
- 2:25kid who can put Ikea together very easily.
- 2:28He just his mind works this way. So, I bring him out and I'm
- 2:31like, Luke. Can you look at this for me?
- 2:33Can you, can you tell me if you see anything that's not working?
- 2:36Do we not hook it up, right? He climbs up, he looks at the
- 2:39panel. He's like, no, it's I said, is
- 2:41it something between this and the little remote control as
- 2:45well? He looks, he's like, nope.
- 2:46It's it should be working. Okay, great must be broken.
- 2:50So I have to find it, go get another box, find a way to
- 2:55replace them and lo and behold go get a brand-new box, bring
- 3:00the brand. You box back?
- 3:01My husband says all right I'll change them out and mind you
- 3:05where two weeks into this whole thing that was supposed to be
- 3:07hanging. A string of lights simple little
- 3:10thing and takes goes to take them down and he tightens up one
- 3:18of the light bulbs on the string and all of a sudden it lights up
- 3:23and he's like huh? Look at this and he goes.
- 3:28I wonder if the light bulbs just weren't tight This whole time.
- 3:31Now what's funny about? This is the light bulbs.
- 3:35Don't come in the string, the light bulbs are out of the
- 3:38string and you have to put them in the string.
- 3:41So for some reason, when he put them in the string he put them
- 3:46in but he didn't tighten them all the way he just put them in
- 3:49and he screwed them in but didn't tighten them all the way
- 3:52they require to be really tight. So this whole time as he's going
- 3:57along, he's tightening them. They're all turning on.
- 4:00All turning on all turning on and there's nothing wrong with
- 4:03the first set. Nothing at all wrong with the
- 4:05first set. It was absolutely perfectly
- 4:09fine. I was super elated standing
- 4:11there. Thrilled could not be more
- 4:13thrilled. That this was one of the, you
- 4:16know, outcomes for the this project.
- 4:18So he doesn't have to one change.
- 4:19The whole light to, it wasn't broken and three, I get to use
- 4:22the new set somewhere else. Now, why are we talking about
- 4:26this? Because he's standing there and
- 4:29he's looking at me and he's like, I cannot believe that it
- 4:33was this the whole time. It was the light bulbs not being
- 4:36tightened up and I'm saying I can't believe it either because
- 4:41neither of us considered the fact that hey, the light bulbs
- 4:45might not be tight. We kept looking at the panel, we
- 4:48kept going back to the panel and see why isn't the panel working
- 4:52because we couldn't imagine that it.
- 4:54Was the light bulb, right? We couldn't imagine that.
- 4:57The light bulb was there, or didn't even think of it.
- 4:59I didn't even occur to me that the light bulbs wouldn't have
- 5:01been screwed in tight. But this is what happens in our
- 5:04life with lots of little things, we don't pay attention to the
- 5:07stuff that we know we should all the small details and when they
- 5:11slip away and they cause us stress it's like right in front
- 5:18of us literally right in front of us and we didn't notice it
- 5:24because we Even think to check it because we weren't on it and
- 5:27that way we should have been so the lesson in the light bulbs is
- 5:31that we all have to take the time to stop and pause in the
- 5:35beginning. When doing something stop and
- 5:38pause and make sure that, you know, would have been a simple
- 5:41thing, I know why he didn't tighten them all the way because
- 5:44when he just put them in quickly to get them up so he could hang
- 5:47them up but he just didn't think to go back and tighten them up
- 5:50and those little tiny things those little All moments that
- 5:55just are. So seemingly inconsequential
- 6:00turn out to cause us the biggest irritations aggravations.
- 6:04And push us into a place where we get frustrated.
- 6:09So look at the small details. Look at the light bulb.
- 6:13Screw the light bulb in tightly. Make sure you've covered your
- 6:16bases and watch your little world light up.
- 6:19Ha, what? That was a pretty good tie in
- 6:21there, wasn't it? I hope you guys have a blessed
- 6:24day. Day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 6:26Bye.
