  gonna ask you, why are these episodes? Why are you here today?

  I just really, I mean, I like them, but also it is

  like truly a new chapter, like just of the series, you know,

  And I just mainly make a check in basically, so, and it was

  between these three and the last three, but I felt like these are a
• 1:45
  little bit more appropriate because this is actually where they all get back together.

  Yeah, I agree, definitely, and I expected it to work out the

  way that it did, but I was just like wanting more time of them

  together, and we'll get that, you know, that's what we'll be coming.

  But I was like desperate for a little bit more back and forth with

  everybody. And it's a kind of mayhem right away, so we don't get

  as much as I am looking for. But that's also we've got to like

  find the right time for everybody to showcase what they can do as well.

  We had some of that, but I'm really looking forward to like our first
• 2:30
  battle where our people are really going all out all right. Interesting, Yeah,

  no, I just in that case you like these episodes. I'm really

  enjoying the fake straw hat thing so much. It's a stupid It's like they
• 2:54
  just assume that if you got really which like you know, two years is
• 3:00
  not a long time for that to happen, but it can happen, I
• 3:04
  suppose. And the Nami like shrink afoot, although I guess you can't tell
• 3:09
  hype by these posters, but I do really love the fact that like they
• 3:16
  make all the fake straw hats are making this I'm not sure what to call
• 3:24
  it, like a I keep wanting to say, like auditions to become part
• 3:30
  of their crew, but that's not like it's a really right word. But
• 3:32
  you know what I'm saying, try it like that, maybe tryouts. And
• 3:39
  they're doing this because they're trying to get other badass pirates on their crew to
• 3:47
  help defend them from the Marines. But also, guys, if you hadn't
• 3:53
  done this, maybe you wouldn't have needed to be defended from the Marines because
• 4:00
  they wouldn't have known that you you know what I'm saying. It just felt
• 4:04
  very much like a self fulfilling prophecy, That's what I'm saying. Probably,

  But I mean, I guess like the fake Loofy had in mind to get
• 4:15
  bigger or like more famous, you know, like maybe it was he legitately
• 4:20
  was like, yeah, I'm gonna be I can do this. You know,
• 4:26
  that's interesting. It hadn't occurred to me, but maybe purposely drew all
• 4:30
  this attention to get like his new his face put out there a little bit
• 4:36
  more. Okay, yeah, I could see that. So so let's start

  off with the actual start of episode five twenty Big Guns Assembled, because we
• 4:51
  start off with this amazing concert that Brooke is putting on. And you know,
• 5:01
  there's so much about Brook's whole look that I love, as with him
• 5:08
  being a rock star at the moment. He's got these flowered pants. He's
• 5:12
  still got that like cravat thing going on, but he's also got a big
• 5:16
  furry vest. His guitar is in the shape of a shark. He's got
• 5:24
  heart sunglasses, but the hearts are on their sides instead of upright, which
• 5:30
  frankly is genius. I have never seen those like me. I'm sure they
• 5:36
  exist somewhere, but I have never seen heart sunglasses where the hearts are on
• 5:41
  their sides like that, And that makes so much more sense. I have
• 5:44
  several pairs of heart sunglasses and the bottom of the heart pokes your cheeks and
• 5:48
  so they lift up. Yeah, it's like just And he also has this
• 6:00
  that has like a crown attached to it. Yes, I feel so,
• 6:04
  I think so. I don't even I'm sure if it is like a crown
• 6:08
  crown or is it just like, you know, actually made out of claw,
• 6:15
  you know, like, oh, I see that, Okay, but

  yeah, I mean he's the soul king, so crown would be appropriate.

  I guess. Yeah, that's a I said that for I'm not a big

  music person. I do like this song that he is like before me.

  However, I have no idea if the soul music or not. Again,

  I'm totally not right. You know, that's a good question. If it's

  soul music, I don't know either, but I will say it's like in
• 6:53
  the last episode with him saying soul king. My immediate thought was like Elvis,
• 6:58
  you know, being the king of rock. But it wasn't until this

  episode that I realized, like it's lately they're kind of doing a little bit
• 7:04
  of a Michael Jackson thing as well, And that makes sense because that was
• 7:09
  really more how he was introduced was like with a Michael Jackson Jackson ish vibe
• 7:14
  and plus going to like thriller bark and everything and there the beginning of the
• 7:19
  song, the first few notes is like, really really similar to a Jackson
• 7:24
  five song. It doesn't, it doesn't, the song isn't, but it's
• 7:28
  like the very opening of it, I was like, wait a second,
• 7:30
  are they about to perform a sarma exists already? But no, it was
• 7:35
  just something that was very reminiscent of it. You know, Yeah, I
• 7:40
  mean I totally know that, like Uda himself is like some quant into music,
• 7:46
  and surely the animator or like the people who made the music what the
• 7:51
  show also made put in some Easter eggs or something like that. I couldn't

  that's true. Yeah, So he goes backstage and pours milk over his head

  in a scene that felt like it was going to matter a lot more than

  it did. This was a weird moment where I really thought we were doing

  something. I almost thought it was going to be like we're playing around with

  the stereotype of rock stars being drug users, and that it was going to
• 8:26
  be like he's getting high off milk. Yeah, you know what I mean.

  I thought it like, isn't there like is it Pretty Spears who has

  that song where she goes on a chair and then pulls on something in the
• 8:39
  water splashes. Well, she may have also done it, but the original
• 8:45
  is flash Dance. Okay, again, No, don't know why he's yeah,

  but I know that like image that scene and something like that invoked it

  for me, like what Brook did. I didn't think it happened. Maybe
• 8:58
  that is what they were doing, Okay, but yeah, like this wound

  up kind of not mattering at all. So I was like watching it,

  waiting for there to be something that clicked about it for me, and it
• 9:11
  just kind of doesn't. And it was weird. And there is somebody that

  we saw last time, like being like, you're not going to do this
• 9:18
  to me, and I completely forgot about that. But it turns out we
• 9:22
  find out later that it is his manager, who is really pissed because he's
• 9:28
  making a lot of money out of this guy and now he is going to
• 9:31
  retire. So he's like, instead of just letting him retire, I'm going
• 9:37
  to call the Marines and tell them who he is so that he'll be arrested,
• 9:41
  which is a very weird choice to make because that also doesn't get you
• 9:46
  the money that you want, sir. But I guess it was just for
• 9:50
  the pettiness. I think it was purely for that. Right. However,
• 9:56
  when the marine show up, they know who he is, like who Brook
• 10:01
  is? So maybe the guys just wanted to get the bounty, you know,
• 10:05
  like basically, oh the bounty. Yeah that makes sense. I forgot
• 10:11
  about that aspect of it, Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, all
• 10:13
  right, so yeah, he get some money out of that, after all.
• 10:16
  I'll take it back, just petty. I could also like, yeah,
• 10:24
  and I'm gonna just sort of like do like talk about Brooks whole deal
• 10:31
  here, because we go from there. Technically we go back to the Grove
• 10:35
  forty six where everybody is gathered up at the fake straw hats and that marine
• 10:39
  who gets caught. But I want to deal with brook first. So Brooke
• 10:45
  is. He goes back out on stage and he is about to it seems
• 10:50
  make like the announcement about his retirement, and this is when the manager comes
• 10:58
  out with a gun. The Marines all announced themselves. All of this goes
• 11:03
  down, and a lot of people in the audience were like, I can't
• 11:07
  believe he's a pirate. And it was one of those things where I was
• 11:09
  sort of like I didn't expect them to care that much. I thought they
• 11:15
  would just be like, oh, who cares because he makes amazing music.
• 11:18
  But it felt very much the way that like we've been reacting lately to finding
• 11:22
  out that somebody is a predator and just being like, Wow, that ruins
• 11:26
  everything, and now I can't listen to your music anymore, Like I was
• 11:30
  just it definitely had like a sort of all of your faves are problematic and
• 11:35
  don't meet your heroes kind of thing, and he ends up performing one more
• 11:46
  song even though his manager is like, I'm not going to let you do
• 11:48
  that. And there's a really great moment where the manager is standing there with
• 11:54
  his henchmen who are weeping from the song, and they just shake their heads
• 12:00
  at him and put their fingers on his gun and push it downward. And
• 12:05
  I loved that moment so much. That was truly laugh out loud funny.

  We're like, no, he's too touching exactly the music the music made us
• 12:18
  feel this way. I love the manager just looking like everybody is under the
• 12:26
  spell kind of that, you know, because the song the lyrics are something
• 12:31
  about like all of us and at times we've had together. And I won't
• 12:37
  say it's like a song that has forgiveness in it exactly, but there is
• 12:41
  a sense of like he's extending grace to his manager and being sort of like,
• 12:46
  I understand why you're upset, you know. So even though the manager
• 12:52
  himself wasn't prepared to just drop his gun, he does pause when he has
• 12:58
  his gun up, like he had been gonna pull the trigger, but then
• 13:01
  he heard him and he's like, well, now I'm not sure. And
• 13:03
  then the other henchmen are the ones who really get him to like fall back.
• 13:09
  Hmm. But really, I mean speaking about Brooke, he's like everybody
• 13:20
  of the Straw had spent their two years somewhere where like it made sense kind
• 13:26
  of where they ended up, but his was just really like why why was
• 13:33
  he sent to this weird island and everything? Yeah, my head canon for
• 13:41
  this is Brook has not been a part of the crew that long. So
• 13:46
  basically Kuma showed up was like, who are you? Well, I guess
• 13:52
  I will send you to a place where the worship devils because that's all I
• 13:56
  can go on. So I like that. Yeah, himself was just like
• 14:05
  I have no idea what to do with you, so good luck. I

  like that because like what I had been assuming happen was that Kuma had some
• 14:13
  sort of magical power where he could tell where the best place was to send
• 14:18
  somebody instantaneously. But I like your assertion that Kuma had a plan in place
• 14:26
  and like researched them and knew from extensive like browsing on Airbnb, exactly where
• 14:35
  to put them. I think I like that better. Actually, Okay,
• 14:39
  I accept it, except this head canon. Thank you. So I'm trying
• 14:46
  to remember because I'm having to kind of jump all over the place here.

  I'm trying to remember exactly how he winds up getting out of the situation,
• 14:56
  because like he's on stage for all of this, continuing to perform. These

  sunglasses are so good. Basically what happens is like the crowd goes wild and
• 15:07
  basically keeps the Marines at bay and right, and then there is like an
• 15:13
  explosion, like a stage explosion, and I feel like what yes, And
• 15:20
  then he apparently comes up in the air and one of the flying fish because
• 15:26
  it was timed apparently and was there to give him a ride, you know.

  Okay, yeah, I completely forgot about this because I was much more
• 15:35
  interested in everybody's reaction to him than really like him getting out of this.
• 15:41
  But and he says, in his like kind of speech before he does this
• 15:46
  whole song, he says like, while I am good with a sword,
• 15:54
  the point of me as a member of the Straw Hats is to make everything
• 15:58
  more fun. And I really appreciate that primary motivation, you know, just
• 16:07
  like yeah, yeah, yeah, I can fight if it comes down to
• 16:10
  it, but it's not my passion, you know. Zoro fighting is his
• 16:14
  whole passion. That's everything he wants to be doing all the time. And
• 16:18
  with Brook it's much more like, no, I've learned how to defend myself.
• 16:21
  But I like, if I'm if I have free time, that's not
• 16:25
  what I'm going to be doing. I will be practicing sword fighting. But
• 16:30
  yeah, so go ahead say again, I was saying, I really like
• 16:37
  him, like Brooke, he is really one of my one of my favorite
• 16:41
  strawheads, to be honest, and one of the main reasons is that he's
• 16:47
  just fun. You know, there is like, yeah, maybe others get
• 16:51
  like our we're longer with us and like have more screen screen time or whatever,
• 16:57
  get the more epic moment, but he's just so fun. I just

  think he is. Yeah, And I often think about because you know,

  there are those interstitials on this version, and how whenever it was his it

  was like the violin on a seat in a really fancy room with like a
• 17:17
  cup of tea and an armchair, and it just all looked so nice and

  I was just like, ah, Brooke, I feel like we really would
• 17:26
  have seen eye to eye on how to live except for him having to ask
• 17:30
  to see Nami's panties again. Yes, look I'm on a detour here real
• 17:37
  quick. What the fuck you guys with the grossness in these episodes? It
• 17:45
  feels like this show has this sort of low level, like nonexistent thread that
• 17:53
  occasionally the thread will expand and we'll have just a pop of grossness here and
• 17:59
  there. These three episodes, it felt like that went from a pop to
• 18:06
  like a nuclear explosion. It was not just Brooke, but also fucking Sanji
• 18:12
  is not only trying to get with every woman he sees, but he is
• 18:18
  actually upskirting to check the genitals of Pirna, which is just so incredibly fucking
• 18:27
  gross. I just hate it so much. And then you have Brookes showing
• 18:33
  up and like doing the same thing, and even them like looking at Boa
• 18:37
  through the thing. I mean, it's just it's There's a point where Sanji
• 18:45
  is like in mid air after having kicked a missile that's being shot at them,
• 18:51
  and he looks down and zeros in on Nami's boobs and like he's so
• 18:59
  horny that the rejection of the blood from his nose sends him flying like a
• 19:03
  rocket. I can't, you guys, I can't, I can't, I

  can't, I can't take it. Yeah, Okay, I'm gonna say a

  lot of things, like in the sense of like I also don't like it.

  Again, still Brook is one of my favorites. So all your favorites

  are problematic, but I don't think the part of him. Another thing I

  the sanchy thing. That is something I'm also here to tell you is that

  this is a joke that Oda decided to put in here, and it will
• 19:48
  not be here for the rest, but it will be here for like the
• 19:52
  next arc, like half of the next arc, So for like the next
• 19:56
  few episodes is going to be horny. Let's put it that way. It

  is that thing. No, like again, another thing where the fandom is
• 20:08
  like why like a lot of the fandom not everybody, because yeah, because

  it has its audience. But yeah, I know that it's a shame.

  It is a shame that that is how it just feels so like it's so

  boring. That's the other thing for me is like Sanji is a great chef

  and we get him like collecting ingredients, but there's very little talk about what

  he gets, what he's planning on making. We don't actually see him do

  any cooking, and it's just him just like you know, just fawning over

  women every second, and I was just like, I actually kind of like

  the other stuff that Sangie's about, why can't we have any of that and

  get the point it is supposed to be he spent you know, the past
• 21:03
  two years on an island with no women, and so yeah, it's like
• 21:07
  he was in jail basically. But also I was I'll confess to you guys
• 21:12
  that I was disappointed at the direction that things went with what happened on that
• 21:18
  island, because it really felt like, at first we were just going to
• 21:22
  do Sanji embracing his feminine side and understanding the appeal, but then he does
• 21:26
  this complete about face act totally like repulsed by everybody, and it seemed almost
• 21:34
  fucked up to me that they show up on this island to fight for him
• 21:37
  when he rejected them so utterly and called them freaks repeatedly and was just really
• 21:44
  shitty to them. And then the joke isn't it's the same thing with the
• 21:51
  Marines that they come across, is like how disgusted by them the Marines are.

  And I was just like, man, I really thought we like,

  we made so much progress in so many ways, and then you just went
• 22:04
  back to these people being the butt of the joke in a way that I
• 22:08
  really thought Oda had grown beyond, and I was let down by that.

  I have to admit, Yeah, no, I'm absolutely very few. This

  is like a low point for for like this kind of I don't even want

  to call it comedy. I don't know. Yeah, I just need to

  be there and it would be so awesome because there is the groundwork of like

  Eva and bon Clay, you know, like all of the that we get

  to know and you know, Zuma, you know, like we have so
• 22:44
  many beta as characters from like this tribe, let's call it that way,

  and it is like, by now they should get the respect that they deserve.

  I feel like, yeah, exactly, exactly. So I just wanted

  to mention that because it just it feels like everybody. I had differing reactions

  to everybody's arc and what they were doing, because some of them felt like

  more interesting than others. And I think ultimately Sonjie's is the most disappointing to

  me because it just feels like we didn't get anywhere with him. The only
• 23:22
  thing that changed for him is that he can fight better and apparently can cook
• 23:29
  better. But we haven't even seen that yet, and ultimately he really regressed
• 23:34
  to behaving as he did when he first arrived there. And everyone else it
• 23:38
  seems like, you know, they grew as people and made friends and they
• 23:47
  became better and have allies that they like earned except Sonjie. They shouldn't be
• 23:55
  here helping him. He sucked to them, like they should definitely have just
• 24:00
  let him go on his merry way and then for himself. That's all I'm
• 24:04
  saying. Absolutely. Another change about Sanzi did with you probably did not notice,

  and I did not notice for years, is Sanchi has like hair over
• 24:17
  his eye, you know, like one eye mostly. Yeah, it's the
• 24:22
  different eye now, like it's the other side. Yes, Basically before it
• 24:29
  was always the left and now after the time skip, it is like always
• 24:32
  the right or the other way around. I love it. He just fucking

  started parting his hair on the other side. That's really funny actually, considering
• 24:45
  that that's like a thing in a lot of comedy, like you know,

  the I'm gonna do something really dramatic to my look and then they just part

  their hair on the other side, you know, considering everything, I mean,

  he did grow facial hair so it would have been kind of funny if

  that were the only change. But since he also has the facial hair,

  that's I guess a pretty significant difference. I wonder if he keeps it?

  facial hair? I think he keeps it. I do feel like he keeps

  he just looks insane now, like what I get that. That's like part

  and it's just like, why would you do this to yourself on purpose?

  Like? What what good are? I will say, though the joke when

  he opens his hand and he has his own little hand inside. Was inspired.

  I loved that joke so much. That was so funny and so creepy

  on like a level, but really really funny. Mm hmm it was.

  I actually gonna say I did not like Frankist form at all, like his

  new form, but I when you spent like another four hundred episodes with this

  new form, kind of it is kind of normal now, you know.

  It's kind of like you yeah, it's kind of like, oh cool.

  And of course there will be like costume changes and stuff like that. We

  have seen that sh so depending on the look, sometimes it sometimes it surprisingly

  works well and sometimes it doesn't, you know. And he can also change

  his hair will which I liked because I said last time I didn't like his
• 27:14
  sort of shaved head. But it turns out that is very much like a
• 27:18
  temporary thing. He can undo that at any point, which I was gratified

  by because I much prefer Frankie with hair. His hair was his thing to
• 27:29
  a degree that like now his look is so distinct that that's more his thing.

  But I like that his hair was part of his original appearance before he
• 27:37
  did any of this stuff to himself, you know what I mean. So

  I really wanted him to keep that. It is like Frank is truly like

  a toy, Like he is basically like a robot, but also is like

  like those dolls that you can put Plato in and the hair comes out.

  You know. Oh I forgot those were so creepy. All I forgot about

  those, yeah, hat you know. And God, let me think of

  when I when I was little, I had this recurring nightmare and it was

  like I was in a house. It was a very simple nightmare because I

  was a child, but I was in this like old Victorian house with my

  family and there was a doll that had grown to life size standing in front

  of our door, and its hair had begun to grow really really fast,

  and it was filling up the house and we were trying to get out and

  everything was closed, and it was standing in front of the door and we

  couldn't get past it. And that was the whole dream. Was that,

  just that its hair was growing and it was like creepy. And I wonder

  if it was like I saw a commercial for that the dolls with the Plato

  hair, and it just lodged in my brain and became this like creature,

  but that would make sense. Actually, now I like this thing with Frankie's

  hair a little less. I didn't know that I would bring in trauma here.

  Oh my god. Okay, okay, so we have Brook basically out

  of the way for the moment. I mean he arrives at the ship,

  but that's pretty much when everybody gets back together. So I feel like we

  can talk about it then, Yeah, we can go back to the fake

  straw hats. Yes, this storyline, Like I said, I love the

  fake straw hat concept, but I think it began to wear a little thin

  after a point because it was just him being like straight up to everybody do

  what I tell you, and everyone just agreeing. But then we introduce what

  is his name, wet caribou. Yes, we see he has like a
• 30:11
  devil fruit power, but I feel like we don't get the name of it
• 30:15
  yet. I'm assuming when it's something like water, water fruit or something I
• 30:22
  don't know, Like he turns to liquid when somebody stabs him and the sword
• 30:26
  gets like sucked into him and disappears. So it was like he turned into
• 30:33
  liquid, but it was like brownish though, like like not was it water?

  Yea, yeah, like brackish water like not it did not look drinkable

  or like right, okay, what is his brother's name? Because he's got

  like a is it a lizard straped over his head? Yes, I don't

  know what's going on with that character, honestly. I mean he is has

  no lines that all basically accept apologizing and always apologizing in the wrong direction,

  and that's like his whole fee fuck get it me needed. His look too,

  is so like all One Piece characters look crazy pretty much everybody except there's
• 31:22
  been like two characters who were notable because they looked the most normal. But
• 31:26
  uh, his brother has possibly the dumbest look of any of the characters.

  Like it's not even that he looks crazy, it's just stupid. It feels
• 31:41
  like somebody was in a room with a bunch of random stuff and they just
• 31:47
  grabbed whatever was at hand, and they were given ten seconds to make a
• 31:51
  new character design, and they just put on random clothes and grabbed a toy
• 31:56
  lizard from somewhere and put it on their head and Oda was like, yeah,
