- 0:00Smila Rahman, Raheem, Salaam Alaikum and welcome back to the
- 0:03Aftermath podcast. It's a brand new week and that
- 0:05means we're having a brand new conversation.
- 0:08And I'm sure you're noticing by now I'm not joined by my usual
- 0:11weekly Co host brother Ahmed Gokul.
- 0:13And that's sadly because a relative of his has passed away
- 0:16in Karbala as of today. May Allah bless his soul and
- 0:20inshallah we remember him and inshallah we remember all the
- 0:22Marhameen around the world, in particular Al Hajj Aborad al
- 0:27Salawi. Please remember him by reciting
- 0:29Surat al Fatiha. However, I am joined by a
- 0:32special brother of mine, someone who I have been, I would say
- 0:37I've known for many, many years. And he always brings a brings
- 0:39joy to my heart, brings a smile to my face.
- 0:42And that's none other than brother Yasser and healthy
- 0:45Salawat. I'm well, I'm better now that
- 0:59you decide me. I lost saw you in the Magales
- 1:02and I haven't seen you since, so it's good to see you once again.
- 1:04Very nice to see, you said. As always, I'm blessed to be
- 1:07sitting here today, blessed to be on the podcast and inshallah
- 1:11some knowledge can be gained today.
- 1:12Inshallah and if you don't know, back in season 2 we actually had
- 1:16brother Yasser feature an episode of ours where we learned
- 1:19so much about Oblis Shaitan arrogance and ego.
- 1:23So do TuneIn and shot Allah. And we are joined by a special
- 1:26guest, someone who's very there to us here after Maghrib.
- 1:29And that's his Eminence, the respect to Sayed Sayed Mehdi and
- 1:32Madarasi Sayed Salaam. Alaikum Salaam to both of you.
- 1:40Great to be back here on the podcast.
- 1:43I've been here a couple of times.
- 1:44I think yes, it was just a that one time.
- 1:47As in you've been here numerous times, but we've we've only had
- 1:50one episode with you and this was Las Muharram.
- 1:53That's right. This will make it the 2nd and
- 1:54Inshallah at that time lucky. Well, inshallah it's it's great
- 1:58to be back for sure. And especially given the
- 2:03podcasts increasing popularity and even more important than the
- 2:09popularity aspect, the benefit that it brings to so many
- 2:12people. We were having a conversation
- 2:15earlier about how you hear from people from far-flung places
- 2:22across the globe who TuneIn they listen and they have benefited
- 2:27from the content that you've you've been putting out.
- 2:30So you're certainly doing a service to the Imam of the time
- 2:35inshallah. And I hope you keep it up for
- 2:38for a long, long time. And that's very kind of you
- 2:40saying that, but that's what the blessings of the brothers here
- 2:43behind the team are saying that Before we get into the
- 2:45discussion, you were here in, well, not London, in Manchester,
- 2:50here in the United Kingdom, and you were giving 10 nights
- 2:52Majalis up north. How are you, Majalis?
- 2:55Like. Compared to all the years you
- 2:57see this year, different Manchester, different to London
- 3:00like. Well, since I guess both
- 3:05Londoners and Mancunians will be listening to this, I have to be
- 3:08very careful what I say and how I draw comparisons between the
- 3:13two cities. But I must say I really enjoy my
- 3:19time up north. The community there is
- 3:23incredibly passionate and devoted to Imam Hussein Ali
- 3:27Salaam. So is the community in London,
- 3:30don't get me wrong, but I, I definitely enjoyed my time.
- 3:36It was a great experience. I've been there many times
- 3:39before. No, that's why I keep going.
- 3:42I, I really like it there and I like the community.
- 3:44I like the fraternity, the sense of brotherhood and the devotion.
- 3:50I mean, it's, it's so beautiful that, and I think you only get
- 3:54to see this in Muharram that you see so many youth coming
- 3:58together to serve, not just to engage and listen and to perform
- 4:03the rituals, but you know, they just show up to serve.
- 4:07And I have many stories of people who used to drive for
- 4:12about an hour and a half just to come to the Med list and stand
- 4:18there in the rain and help organize parking spaces and
- 4:21things like that. And so it's very inspiring
- 4:27really. And I tell them all the time, I
- 4:29say, I, I, what I do is really easy compared to what you have
- 4:35to endure in the sense that I just get to sit there in the
- 4:38limelight and recite the medulist and give my speech,
- 4:42whereas you have to put in all the hard work to make this
- 4:46medulist happen. So obviously you have a lot of
- 4:50parallels with that here in London.
- 4:52I think the UK in general is a, is a, is a nation that has a lot
- 4:58of potential. When you see the youth, when you
- 5:00see their devotion and their sense of sincerity when it comes
- 5:06to serving Hamid Hussein Aliyah Salaam.
- 5:09I mean, the, the whole social fabric changes completely in
- 5:14Muharram and it it's, it's something that's beautiful and
- 5:19gives me a lot of inspiration. And I think a lot of other
- 5:22countries could learn from that experience.
- 5:24And so Mashallah, beautiful. It reminds me of normally in the
- 5:28here in London, we have Magalis throughout the year, whether
- 5:30it's Parthamiya or commemorating Gomal Benin.
- 5:33And people actually fly in in the UK to experience the Magalis
- 5:36and be a part of them. And the author is always working
- 5:39behind the scenes with Magalis. You have a lot of inside.
- 5:44It's a fall somebody actually, on that note, someone came to
- 5:47the measures. I mean, they, they were coming
- 5:48from different towns and cities, from the Greater Manchester
- 5:51area. But one thing that stood out was
- 5:54a was a brother who came with his wife.
- 5:56And he said that we've, we've been here for the last, you
- 5:59know, 5-6, seven nights or whatever it was.
- 6:01And we came from Guernsey. I'm like, where's Guernsey?
- 6:04And he said it's an island. Guernsey.
- 6:07Yes, Yes. Yes, yes, yes.
- 6:08Is that how it's pronounced? Well, they said Guernsey, so I
- 6:11think they know better. But anyway, no, no, because.
- 6:14I'm not I'm not saying they're mispronouncing.
- 6:16This is how this is how I. So, so they, they, they
- 6:20literally flew in for the measureless and that's, that's
- 6:24the, that's. The.
- 6:26Magnetism of Imam Hossein isn't a lot that people find the
- 6:30measureless. They can connect with the local
- 6:33community and they'll go wherever the road takes them,
- 6:37essentially just to just to be able to commemorate Imam and
- 6:41Hussein Ali Hassanam. Yeah.
- 6:44So where where did you fly in from?
- 6:46I flew in from from Bein and Halloween from Bein and
- 6:49Halloween. Now Harlem is a very important
- 6:54time for me 100% in terms of I don't know.
- 6:58I just count down the days because I see myself every more
- 7:01Harlem. I get closer to Imam Hussain
- 7:03Salaam Ali in terms of this Muharram.
- 7:05I'll probably think, wow, I've reached the limit.
- 7:08Like I love Imam Hussein Max. But then next year, I find, I
- 7:13find that no, I love him even more now and my, my, my
- 7:19motivation to serve grows. So Hamdullah, every Muharram I
- 7:24try my hardest not to serve that one place, but at multiple
- 7:26places so that I can get a, a piece of thawab in every
- 7:31organization that serves the imam so that maybe, you know,
- 7:35adds up and ranks. Up for you.
- 7:36You know what I call that? I call that divine capitalism.
- 7:40OK. The concept is if you ask any
- 7:44financial advisor, let's say you have a sizeable saving of half a
- 7:50million or $1,000,000 or whatever it is.
- 7:53Thank you. Don't forget, tell you'll be
- 7:55you'll be able to retire with a big fat bank account.
- 8:01But if you ask any financial advisor how you should invest
- 8:05your money, one of the most consistent pieces of advice is
- 8:09you need to diversify your investments.
- 8:11And so diversification within the realm of spiritual deeds and
- 8:17services to the, I believe is a, is a great thing because some
- 8:24people might think that they need to be more focused when it
- 8:27comes to like, especially if you're an entrepreneur, you're a
- 8:30businessman, you've got a lot of money and you donate to
- 8:32different causes. They sometimes feel that they
- 8:36need to focus their attention on one project or two projects.
- 8:39I tell them, no, diversify because you don't know which one
- 8:43of those investments is going to yield the highest returns and
- 8:47you don't know which of those investments is going to be
- 8:49accepted by Allah. So the Hadith famously says that
- 8:52if people could see the number of deeds that are being rejected
- 8:55by God, they would assume that none of their deeds is being
- 8:59accepted. So, like, there could be small
- 9:03missteps or, you know, perhaps problems with their intentions
- 9:08and whatever it might be. And so diversify your
- 9:11investments, diversify your services to Imam Hussein.
- 9:14I'm all for that. Yeah, So Muharram's a very, very
- 9:21special time for me because like you said, the youth come
- 9:24together. So some people that I might not
- 9:26see come together. And they're showing again their
- 9:29love to their headed Bates. And the bit that gets me is that
- 9:33I see a lot of people because of Muhammad, because of the
- 9:36speakers like yourself, saying that they might now feel the
- 9:40love to Imam Hussein that they once had, that they lost.
- 9:44And now the the. Life got in the way and.
- 9:47Yeah. Whatever got this rekindles the
- 9:50yes, the love and relationship. And I love seeing that happen
- 9:53because, again, it motivates me to work and serve more.
- 9:57Yeah. So that more people like these
- 9:59people that are coming back to Imam Khasin, coming back to
- 10:02their head debate, more of them come back and more of them are
- 10:05on the right path and shot a lot like what we're striving to be.
- 10:08Beautiful. I love it.
- 10:09I love it. So let's let's let's start with
- 10:12the conversation. I.
- 10:15I think let's begin here. Myself and Ahmed, we've been
- 10:18trying a week prior to Muharram, we said throughout the months of
- 10:22Muharram Musafar, we want to focus a little on the torhade of
- 10:26Imam Hussein. Ali has Salaam because we don't
- 10:28want the connection that we have with Imam Hussein as Shia as
- 10:32just from an emotional aspect. We want to we want to also feel
- 10:35that spirituality because Imam Hussein gave more than love and
- 10:39emotion for us to connect with him.
- 10:41And I and I think let's let's let me ask this question say we
- 10:45know Imam Hussein. When he left Medina on his
- 10:49journey towards cool fire, he embarked with the mission
- 10:53statement of wishing to reform the Sunnah, the teachings, the
- 10:56seer of his grandfather, Muhammad Haasan Allah Sallallahu
- 10:59Ali Hawaii Wasallam. But part of that is the Torhid
- 11:02of Allah. And as Muslims, our Soladin
- 11:05starts with Torhid. What was Imam Al Hussein
- 11:08fighting for when it comes to the Torhado of God?
- 11:10What was he trying to re establish in the Omar Rasuma?
- 11:15I think no one simplified the crux of the mission statement of
- 11:22Imam Al Hussein better than he did.
- 11:26He was once asked what the the disagreement was about between
- 11:34Benny Hashem and Benny Omaha, and Imam Hussein put it
- 11:40succinctly and simply when he said our disagreement is over
- 11:47God. Then he elaborated a little bit
- 11:50more. He said their claim is that God
- 11:59has lied or that belief in God is a lie.
- 12:03I mean, Yazid said it in the most blatant and shameless way
- 12:08when the blessed and severed head of Imam Hussein was brought
- 12:14to him in his court, when he recited this poem, saying, and
- 12:21I'd hate to quote him, but again, this is a condemnation of
- 12:26Yazid. By his own admission, He said
- 12:29later, Ashiah, he'd be better than Shahidu Nazar al Hazar ajim
- 12:33infarthal essal. I wish my forefathers, my
- 12:37ancestors were here where they could witness my triumph, my
- 12:41victory over the Bani Hashim, over the family of the Holy
- 12:47Prophet Leahallu. Had they been here, Leahallu was
- 12:52the hellu Farahan from Makalu Yazidu La Tushal.
- 12:57They would have said, they would have celebrated and they would
- 13:00have applauded me for what I've done and they would have said
- 13:04good job. Then he said Lai bat Hashem obil
- 13:09mulki fala khabaranja a wala wahiyan nazel.
- 13:13He said Benny Hashem had been playing a football game in the
- 13:19name of religion, but what they were really after was dominion
- 13:24and government and wealth and power.
- 13:28There was never any revelation. There's no hell, there's no
- 13:34heaven. It's all a lie.
- 13:36Yazid blatantly and shamelessly said this.
- 13:40Obviously he was a little tipsy and drunk when he said it, which
- 13:44makes sense. But he was drunk and
- 13:47intoxicated, not just on alcohol and the beer that he was
- 13:53consuming at the time, but also drunk on youth and drunk on
- 13:56power and drunk on victory. And that's what I think pushed
- 14:03him to to make this admission in the clearview of thousands of
- 14:09people, including his own officials as well as foreign
- 14:12delegations. So Imam Al Hussein is alluding
- 14:16to this when he says ulna sadaq Allah.
- 14:21Our main point of contention with Benny Omea is that they're
- 14:29against God. They are, for lack of a better
- 14:34term, are trying to undermine God, whereas what we're trying
- 14:39to do is to establish the unicity of God, the oneness, the
- 14:43existence and all the attributes of Allah, Sopano Ta'ala.
- 14:48Our job is to teach it to people and help people reach this
- 14:52conviction, whereas Benny or me are trying to do the exact
- 14:54opposite of that. Now, why this is important is
- 14:57because sometimes I feel people are too naive when it comes to
- 15:02analyzing the motivations of Yazid and Mahuya and Abu Sufyan
- 15:07and some of the other antagonists in this in this epic
- 15:11saga. And so they will assume that
- 15:15they did what they did to the Prophet and his family out of a
- 15:19desire to to rule right, to live in luxurious palaces and to have
- 15:26a massive circle of harems and women and whatnot.
- 15:32But it wasn't that. It was again made clear by their
- 15:36own statements. Moralea famously said to one of
- 15:40his own friends and cohorts that when his friend came to him and
- 15:47said, look, you're old, you're about to die and you might as
- 15:51well do something good for your own relatives.
- 15:54I mean, Benny Hashem, are your own blood relatives.
- 15:57Your ancestry comes together at some point in the family tree.
- 16:01So maybe you could help them out, maybe loosen the grip a
- 16:06little bit and stop putting so much pressure on them, stop
- 16:09persecuting them so that people then say that Mahalia was
- 16:14generous, he was good to his own kin.
- 16:17And Mahalia said, listen, people will never Remember Me for that.
- 16:20And then he mentioned the first two caliphs.
- 16:23He said the first one died, no one remembers him, no one cares
- 16:26about him anymore. The second one died, no one
- 16:28remembers him. The third one died, no one
- 16:29remembers him. He said, I will not settle for
- 16:32anything less than bringing down this name.
- 16:36And as he was speaking, the avan was being recited and the
- 16:39Mohaddin said Ashado Anna Muhammad.
- 16:41So Mohawiya insulted the Holy Prophet.
- 16:46I don't want to mention the expression that he used, that he
- 16:48insulted the holy messenger and said that his name is still
- 16:52being read out from the minarets.
- 16:55La Allah, Allah Dafnah, dafnah. I will not rest until I bury
- 17:00that name. And so they were resentful
- 17:05towards God. They were resentful towards the
- 17:08holy messenger. And so as you were saying, on
- 17:12the other hand, the albeit and in particular, Imam Al Hussein,
- 17:16Alayhi Salaam, his entire mission was to revive the cause
- 17:22of God. And you see that?
- 17:23I mean, it's not just something that we say because, you know,
- 17:27Madam Hussein was a Muslim leader.
- 17:30No, no, the Imam consistently, time after time and on so many
- 17:35different occasions made this crystal clear by highlighting
- 17:41the fact that my objective is to uphold the name of a loss of
- 17:45Hanahu Attah, obviously, and we'll get to that later on.
- 17:49But to reach a loss of Hano ET Allah, you need to do so through
- 17:53the right set of leaders, right? And Imam Hussein was one of
- 17:57them. But his intention was to please
- 18:01Allah. I mean, why else would Imam and
- 18:04Hussein at the very apex and zenith of tragedy as he's
- 18:12holding his six month old infant who was slaughtered from ear to
- 18:16ear from the jugular vein to the jugular vein.
- 18:20And the Imam at that point when any person would have lost it,
- 18:26any person would have fainted, perhaps would have died at the
- 18:31severity of the tragedy. And yet Imam and Hussein says
- 18:34how, when Aman Azalebi. And what makes this bearable for
- 18:40me, barely bearable, is that God is watching.
- 18:45It's about a loss upon even when Imam and Hussein, and there are
- 18:49so many examples of this, but we obviously are restricted in
- 18:53terms of time. But when Imam and Hussein is
- 18:56asked why he doesn't just give his Pledge of Allegiance, save
- 19:00his life and the life of his family and friends and children
- 19:04and so on, what does the Imam respond with?
- 19:07He says Yazid is an impious, vicious, tyrannical, despotic
- 19:15animal and someone who is like Hussein.
- 19:22The position that Imam Hussein had would prevent him from the
- 19:26thought of giving in to Yazid's rule.
- 19:29Then the imam says, yeah, Ballahu, the Ali Kalena.
- 19:35He says God wouldn't want me to do this.
- 19:40I can't do this in view of Allah and his Messenger, which means
- 19:51that Imam Hussein at that point remembers his mother Fatimah,
- 19:56even though Imam Hussein became an orphan at the age of five or
- 20:01six years old. And yet he says my mother
- 20:04wouldn't want me to do this. Fatimah Alayhissalam could would
- 20:09be disappointed. My words, obviously she would be
- 20:14disappointed if I ever did that. Why?
- 20:16Because Yazid is the embodiment of evil and he is evil.
- 20:22That is clear and apparent. It's not like Yazid Moralia, for
- 20:27example, was still trying to play this game where, you know,
- 20:32doing his thing and trying to undermine the the prophet's
- 20:36religion. But doing so while pretending to
- 20:39be kind of a Muslim, right? It fooled no one except maybe
- 20:43the most naive and idiotic people at the time.
- 20:47But while we was at least trying to pretend that he was still a
- 20:50Muslim, Yazid stopped pretending altogether.
- 20:53And so the Imam says someone like that, God would not want me
- 20:57to give him any sense of loyalty or allegiance.
- 21:02Also, and I think this is perhaps less discussed from from
- 21:08the pulpit or, or something that needs to be studied and analyzed
- 21:12by individuals after Muharram, because I mean, we, we always
- 21:15talk about how after Ashura, how can we maintain a consistent
- 21:20connection to Imam al Hussain Ali Salaam.
- 21:22This is my advice to people who want to do that.
- 21:24The duas of Imam Al Hussein on the day of Ashura, the prayers,
- 21:30the supplications. Imam Al Hussein recites a few
- 21:34supplications. Again.
- 21:35Remember, put all of this into context.
- 21:38Imam Hussein is in the middle of the fiercest battle perhaps in
- 21:44all of human history, where you have 30,000 people armed to the
- 21:48teeth and only about 100 or so fighters in the camp of Imam
- 21:54Hussein. In the midst of the chaos, Imam
- 21:59Hussein takes time out to pray to God.
- 22:02And I'm not just talking about the obligatory prayers, Salat,
- 22:05I'm talking about duas, for example.
- 22:09I'll read a couple of passages very quickly, please.
- 22:13Imam Al Hussein recites this dua where he says Allahum.
- 22:26And this is at the very beginning of the battle, when
- 22:30the enemy shoots the first arrow.
- 22:34Omar AB Nasat, may Allah, his eternal damnations be upon him.
- 22:38Imam Hussein had many opportunities, as you know, to
- 22:42wage the battle, to be the first to launch the attack and thus
- 22:46gain the advantage of of being the 1st to ambush the enemy.
- 22:51But he refused to do that. And on multiple occasions, as
- 22:53companions would say, should we fight after they'd insult the
- 22:57Imam for, for example, and the Imam would say in the Akrahu and
- 23:01Abdullahi Qatal, I would hate to be the one to initiate the
- 23:05attack. Allahu Akbar, talk about the
- 23:07ethics of warfare, talk about the epitome of virtue.
- 23:12Imam Hussain is unparalleled and indescribable in this sense.
- 23:19Then they they shoot the first arrow.
- 23:21Omar al Nasad looked at his people and he says to them
- 23:24Ishadulli Angdel Amir Faheni Owaluman, Rama bear witness tell
- 23:29the commander meaning obeyed Allahabad, Ziad or Yazid that I
- 23:32was the first to shoot the arrow.
- 23:34After which arrows began coming down like rain.
- 23:38To the point that the authors of the Passion narrative of Imam
- 23:43Hussein known as the Muktel, They all say that when that
- 23:46first wave came, no one was spared.
- 23:49Every single person was injured, every single tent that the women
- 23:54and children were staying in was ripped and torn.
- 23:59At that point, Imam Hussein recites a prayer and he says the
- 24:02following Allah, Allah, O Allah, you are my trust in every
- 24:12affliction and you are the one I turn to at times of adversity
- 24:20and difficulty. When talifi khuli amarin nazarbi
- 24:24thiratunwad, how beautiful are these words?
- 24:28I challenge anyone from any faith tradition, from any
- 24:32religion, to bring me any supplication that is as
- 24:36beautiful, as emotive, as inspirational as this, which was
- 24:41recited in the middle of the battlefield, unmatched.
- 24:44The Imam. Improvised it.
- 24:46If this is not divine revelation, I don't know what
- 24:49is. Wen talifi quli amrin nazelabi
- 24:53Thekaton Nwaudde. And in every affair that touches
- 24:58me, that hurts me. Thekaton Nwaudde.
- 25:04I rely on you and I depend on you.
- 25:08Kem in Ham in the other offer for odd.
- 25:11How many? A tribulation where the heart is
- 25:15weakened. What a kill.
- 25:17Luffy Hill Hailer and I have no choice.
- 25:19I have no recourse, no way out. Huyekdu Luffy has Sadiq and even
- 25:25your closest friends abandon you.
- 25:28Huyeshu Mutufihil Adu and your enemies rejoice at the lack of
- 25:32support that you have and zeltahu bikawa shakotahu ileic.
- 25:37But when I complain about it to you and I put it right there in
- 25:42front of you so that I could seek your help, Rahab admini
- 25:46ileika Aman siwak. When I neglect all others and I
- 25:52turn to you exclusively and not other people.
- 25:59How many times the Imam is reminding us of the times when
- 26:05we've lost all hope and we've had, you know, absolute despair
- 26:12and hopelessness and a loss panel to Allah steps in and
- 26:16intervenes. He says you helped me when no
- 26:19one else would. You are the one who gives every
- 26:25blessing. Wasa Hebukulli Hassan talking
- 26:33about Toheda Imam Hussein? This, this is this is the peak
- 26:38of Touhid. This is Imam Al Hussein
- 26:40reminding us that his entire mission was about a loss of Hana
- 26:44Wata Allah and his pleasure. So this is at the beginning of
- 26:48the battle. Then at the very last moments of
- 26:53the blessed life of Imam Al Hussein, the Imam recites
- 26:56another dua. I don't know if I can go through
- 27:01the dua without turning this podcast into a a eulogy and a
- 27:07moqtal for Imam al Hussein because the duha itself alludes
- 27:12to things that the Imam had to face.
- 27:16But I feel this is not the right time or place.
- 27:18I will just take an excerpt from the very beginning of the duha.
- 27:23Look at how beautiful this is. The Imam says Allah hum mamuta
- 27:26al makan and this is when the Imam was in the killing pit.
- 27:32Allah mamuta al makan alimul jabaroot shadid dul mihal
- 27:38raniyon Anil khala Ek arival kabriya, he says.
- 27:45Oh Allah, Exalted in position, great in dominion, severe in
- 27:51punishment, independent of the creation, majestic in grandeur,
- 27:56able to do whatever you will near in mercy, true in promise,
- 28:02abundant in blessings, good in trials, near when called upon,
- 28:07encompassing when you have created.
- 28:10Think about the fact that Imam al Hussain had lost Abel Fawl al
- 28:14Abbas, he had lost al Qasim, he had lost Ali.
- 28:18You know al Akbar, he had lost Ali, you know al Akbar.
- 28:20He has faced what no one had faced and will ever face until
- 28:25the day of judgement. And this is how he speaks to
- 28:28God. He says you are good in your
- 28:31trials. In other words, whatever you do,
- 28:35I'm happy with. This is the ultimate pleasure
- 28:41that is resting on the pleasure of Allah, Subhanahu, Attah, a
- 28:45revaab, Al Qaeda. Whatever you want from me, I am
- 28:50happy with, I am pleased with, which is why Indu Arafah.
- 28:54And again, we can't talk about Imam and Hussein and Touhid
- 28:57without referencing to our Arafah.
- 28:59Indu Arafah Imam and Hussein makes a truly phenomenal
- 29:03statement in which he says elahi encunta padravita ani, if you're
- 29:09pleased with me falah ubal, then I don't care what happens to
- 29:15him. Who says that?
- 29:18Who? Who puts himself in that
- 29:20position where it's like, oh God, I will take it no matter
- 29:24what it is. Even if it's seeing the sight of
- 29:28my slaughtered 6 month old infant.
- 29:31Even if it's seeing my brother and my backer and my supporter
- 29:35and my one man army, Abu Fadl Abbas falling over his face,
- 29:41which had an arrow pierced inside his eye.
- 29:44I I'm happy with it if that's what you want.
- 29:49Even if it means coming to the to the to, to near the body of
- 29:54his brother and saying Alan and Kasarovar Hari Alan Allah
- 29:58Taylati, what Shama tabi Adu we. Because when people lose a loved
- 30:03one, you spoke about our brother Ahmed, may Allah bless him.
- 30:07Losing a family member. We've all lost a family member
- 30:12at one point or another. And I mentioned this in one of
- 30:15the lectures in Muharram. I said when someone loses a
- 30:19family member, what happens is people come to them, they
- 30:22console them, they hug them, they embraced them.
- 30:28And yet when Imam and Hussein lost his brother, the enemy
- 30:31surrounded ABBA Abdullah and they began clapping and
- 30:35cheering, saying look at Catalna Abbas, which means that Hussein
- 30:40is all alone. From this point on, Imam and
- 30:43Hussein's conviction in belief in Allah, not just on a
- 30:51theoretical level, but on on the level that makes him devoted to
- 30:58him unconditionally, there's nothing like it, nothing like it
- 31:04except what you find in the life of other infallible members of
- 31:09this household. You know, Imam Hassan, Emir,
- 31:13Mormonian Rasulullah, Imam Al Hussein is just it.
- 31:18He's, he's a member of that club.
- 31:20And that explains why Imam Al Hussein and his remembrance and
- 31:24his commemoration is so grand and keeps increasing, keeps
- 31:28expanding, keeps getting bigger and bigger and more impactful,
- 31:33doesn't it? The fact that this, these, these
- 31:36rituals and these gatherings were always the target of every
- 31:40tyrant who came along and tried to test his luck with Imam Al
- 31:45Hussein, as my father says, he says every, every tyrant gave it
- 31:50a try, right? They tested their luck to see if
- 31:54they could stop this. And it's like someone who goes
- 31:57out in broad daylight, looks at the sun up in the sky and thinks
- 32:03with himself that maybe I can blow out the sun with my mouth,
- 32:09right? It's futile, it's pointless.
- 32:13But they will test their luck nevertheless.
- 32:16And Imam Al Hussein simply crushes them.
- 32:19Civilizations rise and fall, countries, nations, you name it.
- 32:24The name of Hussein endorse the remembrance of Hussein is here
- 32:30to stay. Why?
- 32:31Because Imam Al Hussein did everything that he did for
- 32:34Allah. And Allah Subhanaw Ta'ala is
- 32:37playing his part as the creator of the universe, making sure
- 32:43that Imam Hussein's name continues to exude life, not
- 32:49just the name continues to exist, but that it it, it
- 32:52vibrates and pulsates with life, as we say in the ziyara of
- 32:56Abdullah Hussain. Ashadu Anaka Hotelt.
- 33:01I bear witness that you were killed because one of the
- 33:04misconceptions that the Beni Omega tried to spread at the
- 33:07time was no, Hussain was not killed.
- 33:09He, he was exalted. He was lifted up into the
- 33:11heavens. So in the Ziara, the Imam tells
- 33:14us, let's not be fooled by their by their little games and
- 33:19propaganda. I bear witness that you were
- 33:22killed, but you didn't die. Rather not.
- 33:31Only. Were you not, you know, you,
- 33:35you, you didn't die. Not only that, but it's because
- 33:40of our loose connections to you. Rajat means the shoreline like
- 33:46we stand at the shoreline of the ocean of Imam Al Hussein, the
- 33:50endless, expansive ocean of Imam Al Hussein.
- 33:53By virtue of standing at that shoreline, the hearts of your
- 34:00followers have been kept alive. Imam Al Hussein did what he did
- 34:05for Allah. Look at what Allah has done for
- 34:07him. It's a point of law.
- 34:08I would say that I said I'm a universe and himself.
- 34:12I say that you took you took us to Karbala, you took us to the
- 34:15temple of Muharram to Aishwarya and I wish you continued.
- 34:18I didn't want it to end. And the the way you connected
- 34:22the dots with the top head and the connection about Abdullah
- 34:24had with Allah Azzawa gently I need it makes you wonder like as
- 34:28a Muslim, as a as a inshallah from the Shia of Emir Al
- 34:31Murminian, what are we doing with ourselves honestly?
- 34:34Like if we see the connection Imam Hussein had with God, we
- 34:39lack any connection or any I, I, I don't want to say anyone lacks
- 34:43the connection with the last panel at Allah.
- 34:45But if we love Imam Hussein, how come we not love Allah?
- 34:48And look, look how Imam Hussein, he gave everything, the good,
- 34:50the bad, the ugly, it was all but of Allah.
- 34:54We see. As bad whatever was the best
- 34:56thing because Allah wanted it. On that note, let me give you an
- 34:59example. OK Subhanallah, a true shihal of
- 35:04Imam Al Hussein will follow in his footsteps.
- 35:09You can't love Imam Al Hussein and then take your prayers
- 35:14lightly. I mean Imam Al Hussein never ask
- 35:18the enemy for any quote UN quote favours except on two occasions,
- 35:26once when he pleaded with them to give water to a six month old
- 35:32infant and the second time was when he asked them to pause the
- 35:39war for Salah. That's it.
- 35:42Those are the only two times that Imam Hussein asked them for
- 35:45anything in the heat of the battle.
- 35:51Abu Summami to Saeedi says to Imam Al Hussein and and these
- 35:55words, Oh my God, how inspirational they are.
- 35:59He said to him, Ya Abdullah, the way I see it is that they are
- 36:06intent on killing you. I swear to God they will not get
- 36:12near you while there is blood coursing through my vein, and I
- 36:18will make sure I defend you until I die right before your
- 36:22two eyes. This is how he starts the
- 36:24conversation. Then he says, However, before I
- 36:28die, I wish to pray one more time behind you.
- 36:35And I I think that the time of prayer has approached and that's
- 36:40what Imam Al Hussein looks up and he says in no walk to her,
- 36:43this is the time of prayer. Jahalla kalla min El musaleen.
- 36:49Imam Al Hussein makes this prayer in response to this
- 36:53unwavering dedication to him, this incredible loyalty.
- 36:58What a great dua this is Jahalla kalla min El musaleen.
- 37:02So that's when they began to pray.
- 37:04Imam Hussein prayed what's called Salat al hauf, which is
- 37:08when you are in a in, in grave danger, even even if you're not
- 37:14traveling, you get to pray like someone who is traveling.
- 37:18So instead of four units Kasol, you pray kasol, essentially.
- 37:23And in order to pray Salat al Vohr in only two units, Imam Al
- 37:30Hussein lost at least two loyal companions.
- 37:33Syed Abdullah Al Hanafi was one of them.
- 37:36And he's the one who would block the arrows and the Spears and
- 37:39the rocks and the blades be what he would do.
- 37:44So not with a shield, even though they probably had
- 37:47Shields, not with his hands, but rather with his face and his
- 37:52neck and his chest. Because when you're following
- 37:56the trajectory of an arrow, for you to then extend your hand and
- 38:01block the arrow with your hand might take an extra fraction of
- 38:05a second and you might miss. So instead you track the
- 38:09trajectory of the arrow with your eyes and you use your face
- 38:13to block it, which is why Imam al Sadaq, when he visits the
- 38:17companions of Imam al Hussein, he says be be unto me.
- 38:21One explanation that some of the ulama provide as to why Imam al
- 38:25Sadaq would say me, my parents including Imam al Qadam Ali,
- 38:29Imam al Baqar Ali Saddam be ransomed for you is that they
- 38:33were so close to Imam al Hussein.
- 38:35Their orbit around the son of Hussein was so, so intense that
- 38:42they became one and the same. It's like Imam Assad that was
- 38:46addressing Imam al Hussein himself, right?
- 38:49It's like when they've melted in, in, in, in the fire of Imam
- 38:54al Hussein, Aliyah Salaam. So ashiya of Imam Ali Hussein
- 38:57cannot possibly take God lightly, cannot possibly take
- 39:02prayers and worship lightly. You know I'll mention this,
- 39:06which I think is is probably something people haven't heard
- 39:09before. Ibn Ziyad sent spies when he
- 39:13came to Kufa and he tried to establish his control over the
- 39:18city. He only came with a handful of
- 39:21soldiers upon Allah. Had people not abandoned Imam
- 39:25Hussein and deserted Muslim they could have easily overrun Ibn
- 39:29Ziad and and his small army that came.
- 39:33There were a couple of dozen but one of the things he did after
- 39:37that was that he sent spies to try and identify the Shia of
- 39:41Imam Hussein. Guess what were the signs that
- 39:45he gave to his spies to identify a Shia from a non Shia?
- 39:49Take a wild guess if they prayed.
- 39:51On time prayers. Prayers, he said, go to the
- 39:55mosque, see who's praying more than others.
- 39:58Only all the. Muslims were not praying at that
- 40:00time. So so.
- 40:00He says he said no, they probably prayed, but they took
- 40:03their prayers lightly. So the sign of a Shia was how
- 40:08they prayed, whether it was on time or not, how many now often
- 40:11they performed. And so this spy says, he says I
- 40:14went to Masjid and Kufa and I looked around and I noticed one
- 40:18person whose prayers stood out. So I went and I sat next to him
- 40:22and I said to him I would like to join him, Ahmed Hussein, and
- 40:26I'm looking for people who are like minded and so on.
- 40:29It turns out that person was Muslim.
- 40:34In other words, the sign of a Shia was how seriously they took
- 40:40their Salat so say. How you're making me think is
- 40:45that people my age, younger than me, I see them in the mosque in
- 40:49Muharram that they're so I don't know how to say it, but they,
- 40:55they want to go to the Majalas so badly and they want to sit in
- 40:58the lecture so badly and they want to do latum so badly.
- 41:03But the second it's time for, for Salah, all right, it's time
- 41:06to go outside. All right, it's time to chill
- 41:08with my friends. All right, it's time to have a
- 41:09chat. So how does it work that even
- 41:12though they're in the lecture and they're listening to the
- 41:15stories of Hussein Salman Ali or in the Latham where they're
- 41:18mourning over Hussein Salman Ali, they over they overlook
- 41:23that what he was doing is trying to get us closer and remind us
- 41:27of the oneness of Allah. How do you advise these people?
- 41:31What? I say to them is I would whisper
- 41:36gently into their ears and say my brother, my sister, my son,
- 41:41my daughter. The reason you've come to this
- 41:44medulist is to connect with Imam Al Hussein on a deep, visceral
- 41:49and emotional level, which is an absolute prerequisite to being
- 41:56religious. Right to to to truly turn
- 42:01towards Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala, you need to turn to Imam Al
- 42:05Hussein. In fact Imam Hussein himself
- 42:08makes an incredible proclamation in one hadith where he says
- 42:13Enamah Khalaq Allahabad. We know Allah in the Quran
- 42:20explains the reason for creation by saying I have not created the
- 42:30old sentient, you know, living creatures, except to worship Me,
- 42:35both humans as well as the Jinn. Imam Hussein elaborates on that.
- 42:40He says worshipping God is the ultimate objective.
- 42:44However, there's a prerequisite to worshipping God.
- 42:48He says the terms and conditions and he says the first one is to
- 42:52get to know Allah. He says that once they get to
- 42:57know Him, when you get to know Allah, His mercy, His kindness,
- 43:05His compassion, the fact that He created me from nothing and He's
- 43:09given me everything that I have, then you will turn to Allah and
- 43:14feel this sense of servitude and humility and nothingness
- 43:20compared to Him, and that makes you turn towards Him and worship
- 43:24Him. Faida Abadu, there is something
- 43:28that happens that's truly magical.
- 43:31After they get to know Allah, then reach the next station
- 43:34which is to worship Allah. Something happens.
- 43:36After that, he says phenom EDA abadu, esternauber ibadati and
- 43:42ibadati mansiwa, When they worship Allah, they will be
- 43:48sufficed from worshiping anyone other than Allah.
- 43:52And what this tells us is that people always worship something.
- 43:57Everybody. Even if it's an atheist who says
- 44:01I don't believe in God, they will worship something.
- 44:03Either it's money or status that's true, or fame or people's
- 44:08respect or career, or the size of their income or their home or
- 44:13their car. They always worship something.
- 44:15In other words, they're devoted to something.
- 44:18They spend their time and their energy and their money and you
- 44:22know, their, their thoughts and everything is devoted to
- 44:26something. Imam Hussein says once they
- 44:28devote all that to a loss upon Otahallah, who is the source of
- 44:33everything we have, who's the creator of the universe, then
- 44:36they will feel no need to devote themselves to any anything else.
- 44:41If you worship Allah and somehow you get into this situation
- 44:48where you have to commit a sin, you will prioritize Allah.
- 44:52You will say that I am devoted to God and God says don't do
- 44:56this right. And so I don't care about
- 44:59whether my boss is going to like it or not.
- 45:01I don't care if my wife likes it or not.
- 45:02I will do what I'm supposed to do in accordance with my
- 45:05devotion to Allah. Listen to this.
- 45:09The person hearing this statement by Imam Hussein then
- 45:14says to him, he seeks more clarification because remember
- 45:18Imam Hussein said that the condition or the prerequisite
- 45:21for worshipping Allah is to get to know him.
- 45:24So he asks a very pertinent question.
- 45:26He says, well, how do we get to know him?
- 45:30He says Be I be unto Omiya ABBA Abdullah Kaifa.
- 45:36How do we get to know Allah? The Imam says Marifa to Kuli
- 45:40Elizamanin le Imamihim, the gnosis of every group of people
- 45:48living at any given time towards the Imam of their time.
- 45:53In other words, when you get to know the Imam of your time, you
- 45:57get to know Allah. Subhanahu Attallah.
- 45:58When you get to know Allah, you worship Him.
- 46:00When you worship him you become self-sufficient.
- 46:02This leads. To another question and say
- 46:04sorry, say no, no please, please, at least to another
- 46:06question. Then how do we use the story of
- 46:09Imam Hussein al Assam, the story of Karl Bellah to draw a link to
- 46:14Imam and Mehdi? How before I answer.
- 46:18That that's a very good question.
- 46:19But before I answer that, let me try and just tie up some loose
- 46:23ends from your previous question, which is that if you
- 46:25find someone who's lacking in terms of their religiosity and
- 46:30their religious practices and so forth, my advice to them is when
- 46:34you've gotten to know Imam and Hussein Ali Hassanam, learn from
- 46:38him. Don't just listen passively and
- 46:41experience the emotional outpour, which is incredible,
- 46:44which is absolutely necessary. As I said, the thawab is there.
- 46:48The connection's been made. Like when you cry for something,
- 46:52you've established a connection that is so real.
- 46:55Yes, it's genuine, it's true, it's true.
- 46:57Yes, it's not, it's not fake. It's not manufactured.
- 47:02It's not, you know, it it, it's so real.
- 47:06And and that should then take you to the next level, which is
- 47:09OK. This is who Imam al Hussain was.
- 47:12Imam al Hussain was God's sacrifice.
- 47:14Imam al Hussain did everything he did for the sake of a loss of
- 47:17Hano Taala. Now how can I get closer to him?
- 47:21As I said, Muslim Osaja became Muslim Osaja because he had
- 47:26built an entire lifetime of connecting with Allah, Subhanaw
- 47:33Taada, praying, worshipping, and being loyal and devoted to the
- 47:37Imam of his time as well. So that's when the call is made.
- 47:40That's why when the call is made, who is the first person to
- 47:43show up, right? And so he joins Imam al Hussein
- 47:48and gets killed on the plains of Karbala and receives the highest
- 47:52accolades that anyone could ever achieve.
- 47:55Not only is he someone who gets martyred for the sake of Imam al
- 47:58Hussein, but he is then raised back to life in the time of Imam
- 48:03al Mahdi. Hence the segue into your
- 48:05question. The connection between the Imam
- 48:10of our time and Imam Al Hussein is so bold and so saturated and
- 48:15so clear. It stares you right in the face.
- 48:20And that can be discussed on numerous levels.
- 48:22But one, one quick thing that I'll mention is that it's no
- 48:26accident that when the 12th Imam, the awaited Savior, the
- 48:30one who will cleanse the world from oppression and injustice
- 48:33and fill it with justice, kindness, goodness and equity,
- 48:37his slogan is Yaditharatil Hussein.
- 48:43Imam is Zaman, may Allah hasten his reappearance and bring
- 48:51comfort and solace to his heart that's been bleeding for the
- 48:55last 12 centuries over his grandfather's tragedy.
- 49:07Imam Hussein or Imam says that I will since I had I had not been
- 49:14given the chance to support you and to defend you and to prevent
- 49:17your enemy from hurting you in Karbala.
- 49:21I will therefore cry for you day and night, and I will shed not
- 49:29just tears but blood out of my eyes.
- 49:33The as I said, the connection is incredibly clear.
- 49:39The Imam of the time comes back in order to restore justice for
- 49:44the oppression that Imam Al Hussein had to endure.
- 49:48And that is an incredible thing because think about it, we live
- 49:52in the time of the occultation, which means that we stand a
- 49:57chance at being part of that mission, that it's possible if
- 50:03we do the right thing, if we live by the by the pleasure of
- 50:11the Imam of the time and try to connect with him.
- 50:14It means that there is a potential, at the very least,
- 50:17that you and I and the audience and everyone listening to this,
- 50:22we get to be a part of that mission, which is, I mean, more
- 50:27than we could ever ask for. That we could somehow
- 50:30participate in avenging the blood of Imam Al Hussein and
- 50:34restoring justice for him and in pleasing him at the same time.
- 50:39I saw him saying that I, I, I want to ask a question.
- 50:42You know, here we're speaking about the Torhid al Imam al
- 50:45Hussein. For us to build the connection,
- 50:47the last part of Italian, we have to understand Hussein.
- 50:49And now the narrations of if you really want to understand a lie,
- 50:52you have to go through so many different steps leading back to
- 50:55Imam Sahab last with Zaman. And if we want to we know God,
- 50:59we need to basically learn from the Imam of our time, Ajilat al
- 51:03Raja Sharif, which leads me here saying is that?
- 51:07I think. Myself and a lot of brothers I
- 51:09know and we've had many conversations like this between
- 51:12my own circles, is that we all want to know how we all want to
- 51:17pursue knowledge. We all want to be on the path
- 51:19that's right, the path that's true, a path that pleases the
- 51:21Imam of our time, a path that Allah wants from us.
- 51:25But I think especially now given the rise of, I would say social
- 51:30media as well as it's, it's become easy for anyone to come
- 51:35on and say, this is what the Imam of our time wants from you.
- 51:39This is what Allah Subhanaw Taala wants from you.
- 51:42This is the Islamic history. These are the kind of like it
- 51:45gets confusing to a stage to us saying there was we don't know
- 51:48who to turn to because we look up to people and we trust them
- 51:53with this responsibility, teach us this and or to allow us to
- 51:58pursue this knowledge and gain from them.
- 52:00It's like a two way St. And then sometimes we may turn
- 52:02around and we see someone else in the same field saying
- 52:06something completely different, something completely completely
- 52:09opposite. Now, as a Shirley, as a Muslim,
- 52:12there's an obligation for us to pursue knowledge.
- 52:14How do we gain true knowledge? Who do we look up to?
- 52:17Where do we go? Is there any like traits,
- 52:20characteristics or something we find from a scholar that can
- 52:24help us and aid us in the pursuit of knowledge?
- 52:27That's a very important question and I think it represents one of
- 52:33the biggest challenges as as you said, in this day and age where
- 52:39with the rise of social media, you can literally be a little
- 52:43tech savvy is really all it takes.
- 52:46Everyone's so that you can exactly.
- 52:50And you can have plenty of followers and, and people who
- 52:54listen to what you have to say. Well, I think we, I think we can
- 52:59address this in, in, in different levels.
- 53:03The first one is kind of common sense, but perhaps a little
- 53:10easier said than done. And that is that every single
- 53:14one of us has to be equipped with a basic level of knowledge
- 53:20about religious matters such that we're able to, to discern
- 53:26and distinguish between a righteous godly scholar and
- 53:32someone who is, you know, lacking in their knowledge.
- 53:38And, and that's me being really generous.
- 53:40I mean, because you have godly scholars and then at the
- 53:43opposite end of the extreme or the opposite pole, you have
- 53:47downright impostors. And they've been around since
- 53:50time immemorial. Imposters have existed during
- 53:55the first phase of the occultation, the minor
- 53:57occultation, the the the first minor occultation of the Imam.
- 54:02There were imposters around people who claimed to be
- 54:05connected to the Imam and who claimed to have a lot of
- 54:08knowledge. And in fact, they did have a lot
- 54:10of knowledge. There was one person in
- 54:11particular who had a book very similar to what we find in the
- 54:20Rasala of our contemporary Maraja.
- 54:23So it's like a legal manual of dos and don'ts and whatnot.
- 54:26And this book, a copy of it, a handwritten copy of it existed
- 54:30in the homes of pretty much every Shia.
- 54:32This guy turned out to be an impostor like you, right?
- 54:36And he essentially went against the, the emissary of the, of
- 54:42the, of, of his time, who was Al Hossein of Rour.
- 54:46And suddenly you can imagine the mass hysteria and the confusion
- 54:50like, you know, we, we used to refer to this guy when it comes
- 54:53to religious matters, and now all of a sudden he's an
- 54:56impostor. So impostors have existed and a
- 54:59Sheikh, a pussy in his labour. He actually lists all those
- 55:04early imposters and what they said and said and what they did
- 55:07and how the Shia responded, responded to them as a community
- 55:12and the scholars as well. So this is nothing new.
- 55:16It's existed. And we have to grapple with this
- 55:19for, for the foreseeable future, at the very least until things
- 55:25kind of sort themselves out. So how am I able to then
- 55:30distinguish between a righteous scholar and an imposter?
- 55:36Requires a basic level of knowledge on my part.
- 55:39So just be awful and just. Before you can see, I don't want
- 55:40to interject, but when you say a righteous scholar, an imposter,
- 55:43is there no one in between? Like no, there is OK there.
- 55:46Is exactly, but I mean, that's what I said early, early on.
- 55:48I said you have people who are overly confident and articulate
- 55:52and they're able to speak and they they're not camera shy.
- 55:56They just don't have the knowledge right.
- 55:58And maybe their intentions are, I mean, I guess you could say
- 56:01their intentions might be pure. Yeah, right.
- 56:03They're not actively trying to misguide and deviate people, but
- 56:07they just lack the credentials. Yeah, right.
- 56:09Gotcha. You have a Doctor Who lacks the
- 56:13academic credentials of being a Doctor Who's not out there
- 56:17trying to, you know, disembowel his patients or abuse them
- 56:22physically or anything like this.
- 56:24He's probably in it for the money, or he's in it because
- 56:26he's out of a job or whatever the case might be.
- 56:29So you have impostors at one polar opposite.
- 56:32Then you have the righteous scholars, and then you have
- 56:34everyone in between. And so point #1 to, to try and
- 56:40make this as succinct as possible, you need to be able to
- 56:43make that distinction. And the way you arrive at that,
- 56:47at the ability to make the distinction is that you need to
- 56:50be well aware religiously. And that means you don't just
- 56:57feel content with listening to lectures every Muharram.
- 57:00You don't feel content by reading a couple of books here
- 57:02and there. Because the sad reality is that
- 57:05most people are like that. That should be the minimum.
- 57:08It. Should be the absolute bare
- 57:09bones minimum, but that minimum is no longer enough.
- 57:14It's not sufficient anymore. I recently published my latest
- 57:20book called Why I'm a Shia and in the introduction I tell the
- 57:24story of an encounter I had with a with a friend of mine who used
- 57:29to come to my lectures. And I literally the inspiration
- 57:33from for the book came about because of this encounter.
- 57:36And I said to him, do you know why you're a Shia?
- 57:40And he said, I have no clue. I'm a Shia because my parents
- 57:43were Shia. And obviously I kind of it, it
- 57:46resonates with me, the message and all that.
- 57:48It's, it's a beautiful religion. I said, well that's not enough.
- 57:52You need to have at least like 3 verses from the Quran that
- 57:56support our case for the succession of a mural Momini
- 58:00which is what makes us Shia right?
- 58:01We are Shia of Alibn ABI Talib. Well why is Alibn ABI Talib the
- 58:05true successor of Rasulullah? Why was he superior to everyone
- 58:09else? Why was he the sole candidate
- 58:11for the falafa? Do you know any verses to back
- 58:15up this claim? Do you know any hadith that that
- 58:19might back up your claim? Do you have any rational
- 58:22arguments? And it's like, no, I literally
- 58:24have no clue. And so I wrote the book in
- 58:26response to that. So as a, as a Shia, you can no
- 58:31longer be content with being a layman.
- 58:35That's not enough anymore. Why?
- 58:36Because you have so many conflicting ideologies.
- 58:39You have so many interactions with people from different walks
- 58:43of life, different religions, different faith traditions.
- 58:46It's not enough anymore. You need to constantly read, and
- 58:49you need to read with the supervision of a scholar, yes,
- 58:53So not just read anything. And you need to listen to
- 58:56scholars with advice being taken from a learned scholar and not
- 59:01just listen to anybody. So it can't be.
- 59:03Done alone because I've seen like there's this rise so you
- 59:05know where people pursue knowledge on their self and they
- 59:09I'm not going to say they know better, but they seem to know
- 59:12better than everyone else like right, yeah, I don't want to
- 59:14give example I think that's because.
- 59:16They have the art of speaking. Maybe more than the
- 59:18knowledgeable person, no? I.
- 59:20Mean, like, I've seen this trends as I've generally seen
- 59:22this, like I've interacted with many people where they've spent
- 59:26a year or two doing research in Islam themselves.
- 59:28I know every other scholar they brushed aside and is their way
- 59:31of the highway. They're the best.
- 59:32Yeah. Yeah.
- 59:33So my question to them is, where do you begin?
- 59:37Which book do you read? Yeah.
- 59:39Do you know the different, you know primary sources, for
- 59:43example, do you know the secondary sources if you're
- 59:45going to read into history, for example, which history books are
- 59:49you reading? Because every historian leaves
- 59:52their fingerprints on, you know, their, their version of history.
- 59:56If you're like. And so if I'm going to start
- 59:58reading just for the sake of reading, then it's going to be a
- 1:00:03very confusing labyrinth. It's a minefield is the best
- 1:00:06description I can provide. It's a minefield.
- 1:00:09You don't know when you're going to step on a mine and it's just
- 1:00:13going to explode in your face because you read the wrong book
- 1:00:16or you watched the wrong speaker.
- 1:00:18So it's very confusing. So if you are going to read, you
- 1:00:22need to do so with advice and supervision.
- 1:00:26And a plan that's provided to you by a learned scholar
- 1:00:30themselves. OK, yes, so, and I'm not even
- 1:00:35saying that you should go to the Hauser and study, even though
- 1:00:37that's absolutely necessary right now.
- 1:00:40We definitely don't have enough people doing this.
- 1:00:42I've always said that I and people like me are a dying
- 1:00:45breed, unfortunately, and it's a tragic reality that I think, no,
- 1:00:51I mean, we have to be honest about this, that there are less
- 1:00:54and less people doing what we do who have the right
- 1:00:58qualifications and credentials, who have spent a considerable
- 1:01:01amount of time in classical institutions like the How is
- 1:01:04that? Unfortunately, this is becoming
- 1:01:07a less appealing, less glamorous type of career for for lack of a
- 1:01:11better term. But I'm not even talking about
- 1:01:13that. I'm saying that the general
- 1:01:15public, right the regular Shia need to read and study and do so
- 1:01:22with the supervision of a scholar who knows you know how
- 1:01:26to navigate this minefield. So that's one thing you need to
- 1:01:30reach this ability on your own. You can't rely on other people.
- 1:01:34And Murad Munin famously put the put said this on multiple
- 1:01:39occasions. One was in the battle of Safin
- 1:01:41or Jamal. Another was at another time when
- 1:01:47his, one of his companions by the name of Al Harith Al
- 1:01:51Hamdani, and I did a whole series about this this last
- 1:01:54fall. To me, Al Hadith Al Hamdani came
- 1:01:57to the Imam and he said to him, I'm confused.
- 1:02:01I don't know where to go. I don't know which direction to
- 1:02:03take. I see people saying different
- 1:02:05things and they're all conflicting and clashing and I
- 1:02:09don't know what's right and wrong anymore.
- 1:02:12The Imam said to him, Whalek, woe unto you.
- 1:02:17And he put his finger right on the problem that he suffered
- 1:02:21from. He said to him, your problem is
- 1:02:24that you follow other people's opinions.
- 1:02:27In other words, in order to tell who's a righteous scholar and
- 1:02:29who's not right, you ask around, you conduct a survey, you go by
- 1:02:35the rating on, you know, if there was a website which rates
- 1:02:39the scholars, you go by ratings. You can't do that.
- 1:02:43The Imam said to him And Nadine Allah, Allah you had O Berejal,
- 1:02:48God's religion is not derived by the opinions of men meaning
- 1:02:54people, right? What in Nama you have to have
- 1:03:00proof it. It's an evidence based approach,
- 1:03:04right? You need you want to know what
- 1:03:05God religion God's religion is. You need to have evidence for
- 1:03:09everything that you believe in, right?
- 1:03:12When it comes to the branches, as we say, when it comes to
- 1:03:16matters of jurisprudence and whatnot, obviously not everyone
- 1:03:20can do this. This is a more difficult and
- 1:03:22more rigorous process where it's it's something that requires
- 1:03:26expertise, right? But when it comes to, I got it,
- 1:03:29you need to be able to arrive at those conclusions with the right
- 1:03:33set of evidence. And so the Imam says don't
- 1:03:37follow other people's opinions. Don't just go by whatever
- 1:03:41happens to be popular at the time.
- 1:03:46The sign of the truth, meaning evidence.
- 1:03:49So that's the first point. The second point is there are
- 1:03:55telltale signs that, once identified, can help you
- 1:04:02distinguish between a righteous scholar and someone who's not.
- 1:04:07I talked a little bit about this in my previous series in the
- 1:04:10month of Muharram, where one of the things I mentioned, for
- 1:04:14instance, is when you see a scholar who's constantly trying
- 1:04:20to provide concessions and compromises in religious
- 1:04:26matters, that's usually a suspicious sign that this person
- 1:04:32doesn't have my best interest at heart.
- 1:04:35Right? If the scholars job becomes all
- 1:04:39about saying Oh no don't worry, this is halal.
- 1:04:41I know all the other scholars say it's Haram but don't worry
- 1:04:44about finding. Loopholes making you like I
- 1:04:45found a new. Loophole or I found a new
- 1:04:47understanding. I have a new novel way of
- 1:04:53reading the literature, whether it's the Quran or Hadith, that
- 1:04:56tells me that dogs are no longer impure, Right?
- 1:05:00Because I rely on the story of the people of The Cave.
- 1:05:03And I mean, look at how loyal their dog was.
- 1:05:05And I'm sure he was super, you know, cuddly and friendly as
- 1:05:10well. And so how could a dog be impure
- 1:05:13when you have all these verses about this loyal dog that they
- 1:05:16took along with them? It's ridiculous.
- 1:05:19Yeah. But you know that what this is,
- 1:05:21but what this aims to do is to make religion more appealing so
- 1:05:25that they could have more followers, so that they could
- 1:05:27have more likes, more views, and ultimately more money and more
- 1:05:30status. When you see a scholar trying to
- 1:05:33provide concessions, that's usually a very good sign that,
- 1:05:37hang on a second, this guy at the very least is not practicing
- 1:05:42caution. He's not being cautious.
- 1:05:44One of the Maraja once said something interesting.
- 1:05:47He said that you look at the fatwa and you read through it
- 1:05:52and to you it's just, it's just a fatwa.
- 1:05:55It's a legal opinion, he said. But what you don't realize is
- 1:05:58that the hand of the merger, who was writing the fatwa was
- 1:06:01shaking. This merger has to like, for
- 1:06:06example, and this is something that happens within the
- 1:06:10scholarly circles in the Islamic seminaries.
- 1:06:13They will debate a matter for weeks.
- 1:06:17Is this like in? For example, they will debate
- 1:06:20this issue and it could be like the most peripheral, most
- 1:06:23marginal issue. They will debate it for weeks
- 1:06:26and then in the end the marjat will say this is my opinion,
- 1:06:30which is like a a rather new and innovative kind of opinion.
- 1:06:35But when the Marjat publishes his legal manuscript, his legal
- 1:06:39opinion in the form of a fatwa, he will revert back to the
- 1:06:43cautionary position. In other words, he will take
- 1:06:45into account the views of other maraja.
- 1:06:48So if I'm the only one who has this opinion, there might be
- 1:06:51something wrong with it. Because why have I found
- 1:06:55something that other scholars for the last 14 centuries have
- 1:06:58missed, right? Maybe they didn't miss it, they
- 1:07:02just had a different view of it and I'm not reaching the right
- 1:07:07conclusion. And so they will revert back to
- 1:07:10the cautionary position because of that, or they will revert
- 1:07:13back to the cautionary position based on what they call siratul
- 1:07:17mutashele al mutasila bizemen al mahsom.
- 1:07:20Which basically means that if you look at all the previous
- 1:07:24religious people, right? Forget the scholars, all the
- 1:07:28religious, devout, pious individuals in our history going
- 1:07:34all the way to the time of the Imams or close to the time of
- 1:07:37the imams, Adiyama Salaam, they would practice this particular
- 1:07:41action in a specific way. This is usually a very good
- 1:07:45sign. This is how it's supposed to be.
- 1:07:48And even if I develop or innovate a new opinion, right?
- 1:07:55I would rather just stick to the tried and the tested, right?
- 1:07:59If it's not broken, why fix it? This is something that people
- 1:08:03have done for eons for centuries, right?
- 1:08:06Then it's probably closer to what the imam wants from me.
- 1:08:10The reason I'm saying all of this, and I know we could have
- 1:08:12debates about this until tomorrow afternoon, but but the
- 1:08:16reason I'm saying all of this is because.
- 1:08:18Or after. Another exactly.
- 1:08:21No, that's another podcast afternoon, afternoon.
- 1:08:25So, so the reason I'm saying this is because you need to, you
- 1:08:29need to take into account caution and you need to consider
- 1:08:33the fact that God's religion is not something to be played with
- 1:08:37or tampered with. And if you see a scholar who's
- 1:08:40giving you concessions left, right and center and basically
- 1:08:43rubber stamping or lifestyle, you know, you got to be a little
- 1:08:47careful with him. Another thing that the Imams,
- 1:08:49Aliyahu Salaam himself have stressed over and over again is
- 1:08:53when you see a scholar whose pursuit of the dunya is
- 1:08:58uncharacteristic and unlike what you see in righteous godly
- 1:09:04ulama, right? Yatlabuddunya, he's not zahed,
- 1:09:08he's not an ascetic. One of the signs of a righteous
- 1:09:12faki. And obviously, if you're just a
- 1:09:15speaker, you might have a different set of rules that
- 1:09:18apply to you. But when we're talking about
- 1:09:20Fukaha, about the people who give you access to your
- 1:09:25religion, right, they one of their signs is they have to be
- 1:09:29ascetic. They have to be disinterested in
- 1:09:32the dunya. If you see them like buying
- 1:09:34properties and you know, having like luxury cars and a luxury
- 1:09:38lifestyle and so forth, that usually tells you you better
- 1:09:43switch managa, right? You better find someone who's
- 1:09:47not interested in the in the glamour of this dunya.
- 1:09:51And, and I think to an extent that kind of it, it trickles
- 1:09:56down to, to the ulama that we interact with on a daily basis.
- 1:10:00So not the level of the merger, but even the ulama who are like
- 1:10:04local scholars and whatnot, if you see them too immersed, too
- 1:10:08engrossed in the dunya, again, there's a beautiful hadith, I
- 1:10:13think by Prophet ASA al Assalam in our traditions in which he
- 1:10:18says al adunya, adunya. I'm paraphrasing here.
- 1:10:24The dunya is the disease and the scholar is the physician.
- 1:10:30So if you see the physician seeking the disease, that tells
- 1:10:34you there's something wrong with this picture.
- 1:10:36Of course. Right?
- 1:10:36Yeah, yeah, yeah. Again, there's nothing wrong in
- 1:10:39living a life of relative comfort.
- 1:10:41But if you see this insatiable desire, right, Something's
- 1:10:44wrong. Then there's something wrong.
- 1:10:46A sense of a. Sense of say kind of have a
- 1:10:51question that I want to divert from where we are now sure which
- 1:10:55is? Divert away, which is.
- 1:10:57Hussein and is some story of course guides us and we try to
- 1:11:05take from it to get closer to our last Pantala.
- 1:11:08But you said towards the start that his whole mission was on
- 1:11:12last Pantala. The Oneness of Allah and to
- 1:11:14revive this thoughts in the hearts of all the people that
- 1:11:18call themselves Muslims. So after the calamity that
- 1:11:22befell Imam Persein al Assam and after the day of Al Shura, this
- 1:11:27now responsibility went to Imam Sajjad al Assam.
- 1:11:31If you don't mind saying then maybe my question isn't right.
- 1:11:34I don't know is that how can we take now from we ask the.
- 1:11:38Question We could always cut it out.
- 1:11:40Can always be. Edited How can we take from Imam
- 1:11:44Sajal Isam from say the Zainab that both saw what happened
- 1:11:49right before their eyes, what happened to their father but
- 1:11:52knew of the mission? How can we now take from them
- 1:11:55that they just saw what happened to their father and knew that we
- 1:11:58can't let it end here, that now it's up to us, It's now up to
- 1:12:02Imam Sajad Alisam to make sure that's mission, that's message
- 1:12:06keeps getting said and keeps getting remembered in the hearts
- 1:12:11of all these Muslims that it never dies like it did before
- 1:12:14and that the message and everything that's happened to
- 1:12:17Imam Hussein Azam doesn't go to waste.
- 1:12:20Love it. How can we learn from them?
- 1:12:22Beautiful. I did say that Imam Hussein's
- 1:12:29mission and ultimate objective was to please a lost panel, and
- 1:12:35there's no doubt about that whatsoever.
- 1:12:38However, the more immediate mission of Imam al Hussein was
- 1:12:44to establish divine rule. In other words, it was about
- 1:12:50Imam. Yes, it was ultimately about
- 1:12:53tawheed, but as I mentioned in the hadith of Imam Al Hussein
- 1:12:58himself that for you to reach Allah subhanaw Taala and to get
- 1:13:02to know Allah, you have to get to know the Imam of your time.
- 1:13:05Which means that the long term objective for lack of a better
- 1:13:09expression was God and his pleasure.
- 1:13:13But in order to do that, the Imam had to establish Imam
- 1:13:19because, and I say this because you do find people here and
- 1:13:24there saying that Imam Hussein died for Salah, Imam Hussein
- 1:13:27died for zakat. And that's wrong.
- 1:13:31It's, I think it's an inaccurate description of Imam Hussein's
- 1:13:37objective. We say in the Ziara, you upheld
- 1:13:44prayer. Without you, prayer would cease
- 1:13:47to exist, which is why they say that senior Maraja would pause
- 1:13:52just before Tekbirot al Ahram and they would whisper
- 1:13:56something. And so their students would say,
- 1:14:00what did you say? Is there like a prayer or a
- 1:14:02vicar or something that we have to say that's recommended before
- 1:14:05we enter the state of Salah? And he would say that I would, I
- 1:14:09would whisper Salallahu alaikya ABBA Abdullah, Allahu Akbar.
- 1:14:14Why? He said because my Salah would
- 1:14:16cease to exist. In fact, prayer itself wouldn't
- 1:14:19exist without Imam Hussein. And so I am merely acknowledging
- 1:14:23Imam Hussein's role in in in reviving and in keeping the
- 1:14:29remembrance of Allah Subhanaw Ta'ala alive before entering
- 1:14:33into the state of prayer. So that's the ultimate
- 1:14:38objective. But to get there, Imam had to be
- 1:14:41established, meaning divine rule over the world.
- 1:14:46And as I was saying, in the Ziara we say a shadow.
- 1:14:55You did all of this. However, why was the Imam
- 1:14:59himself killed? The Ziara of Urbain has a
- 1:15:06statement which provides a lucid explanation of that.
- 1:15:13We say wabeda la mujeta hufiq. He gave mujah is the blood that
- 1:15:20is inside the heart, not the blood that's in the veins or the
- 1:15:24rest of the body. The actual, you know, essence of
- 1:15:29an individual is called muhaja. He gave the blood that's inside
- 1:15:36his heart, which could be a reference to the three pronged
- 1:15:40arrow as well. Why Liestenka the ibad, the
- 1:15:45camenal Jahala so as to salvage your servants from deviation and
- 1:15:56the confusion of ignorance. That's why the Imam did what he
- 1:16:00did. Now you come to the time of Imam
- 1:16:05Zeiner Aberdeen. Imam Zeiner Aberdeen didn't do
- 1:16:10what his father did. And this is, I think, a a very
- 1:16:17eye opening point that many people could benefit from,
- 1:16:23people who who feel that Imam Hussein's mission was to topple
- 1:16:27the government of Yazid, was to rise up against oppression.
- 1:16:30No, it was not. Because if that was the case,
- 1:16:34then Imam Zain al Abidin would have followed in his father's
- 1:16:36footsteps and he did not. And Imam Zain al Abidin was an
- 1:16:40infallible inerrant. Are we not seeing Les?
- 1:16:44Paul of his mission. Yeah.
- 1:16:47So obviously, obviously there are different sizes of the
- 1:16:50puzzle that had to have been put in place for this mission to to,
- 1:16:57to reach its fruition. No, no, no question there.
- 1:17:00But if we acknowledge that the objective of Imam and Hussein
- 1:17:04was to establish Imama in order to please Allah, subhanahu wata
- 1:17:09Allah, then Imam Zain al Abidin did do that.
- 1:17:13But if we say that his objective was to topple Yazid, Imam Zain
- 1:17:16al Abidin lived in the time of Yazid, that same tyrant, for the
- 1:17:20next three years, right? And the Imam, for lack of a
- 1:17:25better term, didn't even lift a finger.
- 1:17:28Not only did he not go and fight Yazid, the Imam left Medina.
- 1:17:32He left Medina. He was living outside in the
- 1:17:35desert, in an encampment, right when Yazid sent his army to
- 1:17:39rampage through the holy city of Medina and to massacre people
- 1:17:45and to desecrate the city. Imam Abedin was outside.
- 1:17:48He didn't do anything, which tells you that if the objective
- 1:17:53is to establish Imam and to guide people, the tools could.
- 1:17:58It would be different in different times.
- 1:18:01In the time of Imam Al Hussein, it had to be to wage war.
- 1:18:04It had to be to go and fight a war of resistance, but a war
- 1:18:09nonetheless. In the time of Imam al Abedin,
- 1:18:12the tools were different, but the guidance was still the same.
- 1:18:17This time it was through. It was through training slaves
- 1:18:23who were bought and and and then freed, right?
- 1:18:28It was in disciplining a number of individuals who became close
- 1:18:33companions of imams al Abidine who would then go on to recruit
- 1:18:37other people if you like. But the objective and the plan
- 1:18:43was exactly the same. The tools were different.
- 1:18:46How do we do that? By simply asking this question,
- 1:18:53and I've said this in multiple places, one of the statements
- 1:18:58that was repeated over and over again by multiple companions of
- 1:19:03Imam Hussein on the day of Aishwarya, including Saeed
- 1:19:07Abdullah Al Hanafi, was when Imam Hussein came to them.
- 1:19:12At the last moment before they breathed their last, they would
- 1:19:16utter this statement. Our fate, Aravite.
- 1:19:21Have I been loyal? Have I fulfilled my pledge to
- 1:19:25you? Are you pleased with me?
- 1:19:26Are you happy with me? Imagine if we if we ask this
- 1:19:30question every single day, whether it's in the morning or
- 1:19:33at night before we go to bed. Awfit Yahoo Gentleman Hassan,
- 1:19:37You also have a Zaman out of the eat.
- 1:19:40Are you pleased with my conduct today?
- 1:19:42Are you pleased with how I treated my father and my mother?
- 1:19:45Are you pleased with how I treat my wife or husband?
- 1:19:47Are you pleased with how I try to raise my children?
- 1:19:50Are you pleased with what I do for a living?
- 1:19:52Are you pleased? Are you pleased with me on the
- 1:19:54balance of things? Right, The day has passed.
- 1:19:58I've done so many things. I've said so many things.
- 1:20:00Are you now pleased with me? Have I fulfilled my pledge to
- 1:20:03you? This is a life altering
- 1:20:07statement. It transforms your actions and
- 1:20:11how you lead your life in the most profound manner.
- 1:20:16And I think that sums it up. We could talk about, you know,
- 1:20:21fulfilling our religious duties. We can talk about all those
- 1:20:24details, but I think this will give you the answer in a
- 1:20:27nutshell. Ask yourself everyday O of fate
- 1:20:31or Elite awesome. I need to recheck my connection
- 1:20:37with the amount of our time because I truly believe
- 1:20:40sometimes we forget he's he's living, he's breathing and we
- 1:20:43can communicate with him on a daily basis may allow us to have
- 1:20:47better Marafa in the Imam of our time and Shallah saying I know
- 1:20:50we've taken so much of your time and I think as a final, it's
- 1:20:54been a pleasure point from me. That's what I say, isn't it?
- 1:20:57Is that the yard of our brain is coming up.
- 1:21:01Is there any words of advice you can give to everyone listening
- 1:21:05and watching of why they should go on this journey of love
- 1:21:09towards Karbala? As a final point, if.
- 1:21:11You've never been to Zaratel Arbarine.
- 1:21:15You're missing out on an experience like no other.
- 1:21:21If you've been to Zaratel Arbarine, you know what I'm
- 1:21:23talking about. You've caught glimpses of that.
- 1:21:27Ziaoto El Alabayin is the closest resemblance to the time
- 1:21:33of the reappearance of Imam Al Zaman.
- 1:21:35Like if there is anything we can point to and say, you know, the
- 1:21:40world is going to be a much better place with kindness and
- 1:21:44generosity and love and fraternity and people, you know,
- 1:21:51being hurt but not feeling hurt because of the incredible bond
- 1:21:58of brotherhood that exists between all of us.
- 1:22:00That's the Otto, the brain. And it's a time of connecting
- 1:22:05with Lady Zainab. If you ask the people who walk
- 1:22:10through the marshes and through the rough terrains and through
- 1:22:14the mountains and endure all this difficulty and pain to
- 1:22:19reach Imam and Hussein Ali Salaam, why do you do this?
- 1:22:22Especially the villagers, Especially, you know, the, the
- 1:22:26more I guess you could say that, that the simple people who not
- 1:22:32only walk but also serve the zawad of Imam and Hussein, if
- 1:22:36you ask them what their motivation is, they'll say
- 1:22:38Nawazi Zaynab. We're here because.
- 1:22:41Zaynab walked. We're we're doing this because
- 1:22:45Zeyneb did it and we're simply walking in her footsteps and
- 1:22:48we're making a statement. The statement is we, we see you,
- 1:22:53we feel you, we hear you, and we wish to feel just a tiny
- 1:22:58fraction of the pain that you felt, even though there is no
- 1:23:03comparison. When they walked, they were
- 1:23:06being pulled by chains and ropes.
- 1:23:08And they, they, they would pull the rope so that the first child
- 1:23:14who's tied by that rope would walk faster.
- 1:23:17And all the children that were tied to the same rope would fall
- 1:23:21like domino bricks and they would lash them and beat them
- 1:23:26and insult them. When we walk, you're welcomed by
- 1:23:31these makeshift tents and these malakib and, and you keep
- 1:23:36hearing this Haleb, Zuharabwali Halebio.
- 1:23:41There's no comparison. But you know, I, I want to feel
- 1:23:46just a tiny bit, a fraction of what they felt.
- 1:23:50If there's a little pain, some blisters in my foot or some heat
- 1:23:54or whatever it is, that's why people will walk.
- 1:23:56You ask them, They couldn't care less.
- 1:23:59They couldn't care less. The Arotel Erbine is by far the
- 1:24:04greatest shower of the day. Allah says the Ali ko Emmanuel
- 1:24:10album Shah al Allah, whoever honors and glorifies and
- 1:24:15amplifies the signs of Allah Subhanahu ta'ala, that is a sign
- 1:24:19of the piety that is in the hearts.
- 1:24:22You wish to exhibit the signs of piety, to gain piety,
- 1:24:27participate in Zealotel Urbain. It's not even optional at this
- 1:24:30point. It's not even optional.
- 1:24:32That's why Meraja before you they actually had fatwas that
- 1:24:36visiting Imam Hussein is wajib and we have a hadith from the
- 1:24:40Imams Ali Musalam who say that if you don't visit Imam Hussein
- 1:24:43Faqa Jafa jafa is when you when someone does a favor to you and
- 1:24:50you shun them. Imam Hussein has done the
- 1:24:53greatest favor to all of us, and for someone to now in this year,
- 1:24:57in 2024 tells me that no, I still haven't visited Mama
- 1:25:01Hussein. That's shameful.
- 1:25:03I'm sorry to say this. Shame on you.
- 1:25:06Shame on you and shame on you. I'm not trying to make you feel
- 1:25:09bad. I'm just saying you're losing
- 1:25:11now. Wake up.
- 1:25:12Wake up. Go.
- 1:25:14And so my suggestion is you go to Ziara and not just any Ziara,
- 1:25:18but Ziara and not just next year, but this year, right?
- 1:25:22Don't postpone, don't delay. Make the decision right now.
- 1:25:25Book your tickets, go down there, you'll thank me later.
- 1:25:29I sent something so I've not said it better honestly.
- 1:25:34Oh wait, counting on this, I'm just thinking.
- 1:25:36Now, Sharma, may Allah grant us the opportunity.
- 1:25:38Hopefully we'll walk together. We're walking.
- 1:25:41Together at some point, whether we're actually physically
- 1:25:43together or not. Sharla this year next.
- 1:25:46Good to see you there. Sharla saying that we took a.
- 1:25:48Lot of your valuable time. I learned so much.
- 1:25:50We benefited so much. Bless you.
- 1:25:52And. I really hope that we have a
- 1:25:55better understanding for everyone that's listened
- 1:25:57throughout this conversation of the connection we need to have
- 1:26:00with the last panel with Tahala and if you have anything else.
- 1:26:03Just one more question. I'm joking.
- 1:26:06I'm joking. I'm joking.
- 1:26:08I should be. Excited now, thank you.
- 1:26:09So honestly, it was my. Pleasure being here.
- 1:26:11Thank you, Sid. Pleasure.
- 1:26:12Saying that, I've always. Been behind the panelists.
- 1:26:16Yes. It's a bit weird, but Hamdullah
- 1:26:19went very well and unsecure. I've asked for a better episode.
- 1:26:24I learned a lot. A lot.
- 1:26:25And again, I reiterate that I thought I loved the amount of
- 1:26:29saying to the Max after today's talk.
- 1:26:32I just, I've loved him. More I've loved.
- 1:26:34Him more, may Allah. Increase the love of Imam Al
- 1:26:36Hussein in our hearts. The Allah Allahabadin Al Khair
- 1:26:41Paddafi it could be the more Allah.
- 1:26:47Allah's love is endless and infinite.
- 1:26:52So the more Allah loves us, the more He plants the love of Imam
- 1:26:56Al Hussein in our hearts, the more Allah wants to increase
- 1:26:59goodness in our lives in both this world and the next.
- 1:27:02He increases the love of your Mama.
- 1:27:05Hussein Hussain. There just finding you your
- 1:27:07book. Where can we find it?
- 1:27:10How can someone purchase it? It's on.
- 1:27:12Amazon, it's the only outlet, the only platform that has the
- 1:27:17the worldwide distribution capabilities.
- 1:27:20And so it's available on Amazon, but you'll be able to find that
- 1:27:24and all the other titles on Amazon.
- 1:27:26Thank you for your time much. My pleasure, brother, sisters,
- 1:27:29wherever you're watching from around the world and shallow,
- 1:27:31you benefited from today's conversation.
- 1:27:32I know I did. And I, I generally ask you if
- 1:27:35you loved this conversation, share it with someone you know,
- 1:27:38a family member, a friend, so everyone inshallah, can learn
- 1:27:41and benefit from the wisdom and the island of Saint Mehdi, may
- 1:27:45Allah protect him. Yarab al Hussein, Bhakt al
- 1:27:48Hussain, Ashfiya. Southern Hussein.
