- 0:14Speaker 2: Then and there.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Speaking of Clay, Clay Travis Law. Accidents don't wait for
- 0:19Speaker 1: great timing. One bad moment, a wreck, a fall, a
- 0:22Speaker 1: doctor who wasn't paying attention, and suddenly you're fighting an
- 0:25Speaker 1: insurance company that does this every single day. And that's
- 0:28Speaker 1: why Clay started Clay Travis Law. He's a Vanderbilt law grad,
- 0:31Speaker 1: and he built a firm around the idea that people
- 0:32Speaker 1: deserve someone willing to pay attention, ask the hard questions,
- 0:36Speaker 1: push back when things don't add up. These are experienced
- 0:39Speaker 1: trial attorneys who will bring the fight to corporations and insurers.
- 0:42Speaker 1: They're based in Nashville, and they are trusted across the country.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Car and truck wrecks, rideshare accidents, medical malpractice, premises liability,
- 0:49Speaker 2: product liability. If you were wrong, they're going to hear
- 0:52Speaker 2: about it. They want to hear about it. And here's
- 0:54Speaker 2: what they promise. Honesty. They don't sugarcoat your case. You'll
- 0:57Speaker 2: hear what it's actually worth. Not what you want to hear,
- 1:01Speaker 2: what you need to hear, the truth. Case evaluation is free,
- 1:04Speaker 2: no charge, no pressure, no hassle. Just tell them your story.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Go to claytravislaw.com or call 877-222-4444. That's claytravislaw.com. No case
- 1:15Speaker 2: is too big or too small. So how about the
- 1:18Speaker 2: just deep field passing? Matthew Stafford was the last of
- 1:22Speaker 2: the league when it came to just air yards. based
- 1:26Speaker 2: on week one, they had a long wait, a long
- 1:30Speaker 2: wait to get back to their winning ways. And Stafford
- 1:34Speaker 2: and Devante Adams put on a show for Monday night football.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Unfortunately for the Giants, Jackson dark goes down with a
- 1:40Speaker 2: knee injury. He's undergoing an MRI, um, early, um, early
- 1:45Speaker 2: assessment seems to be like four to six weeks. So
- 1:47Speaker 2: Jameis Winston, uh, seems to take over there. Uh, Marcus
- 1:51Speaker 2: Mariota doing the same thing in Washington. Um, Chad, we
- 1:56Speaker 2: discussed the travel plans for Los Angeles versus San Francisco.
- 2:01Speaker 1: It feels like a month ago already when they played.
- 2:07Speaker 2: And because of the time difference, Hutton, it may have
- 2:08Speaker 2: been a month ago. I was trying to get all
- 2:10Speaker 2: the hours down of 17 or 18 hours difference. I
- 2:13Speaker 2: feel like through some weird mathematical algorithm, it probably was
- 2:18Speaker 2: a month ago they actually played this game.
- 2:20Speaker 1: So he was asked at McVay postgame. He's very relieved here.
- 2:24Speaker 1: they get to one and one, their first win of
- 2:26Speaker 1: the season. He's asked about what, what changed in the,
- 2:29Speaker 1: in the team's performance. We got the right people.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah. I think, you know, sometimes you, you know, sometimes
- 2:36Speaker 2: you win, sometimes you learn and, you know, sometimes you
- 2:39Speaker 2: have a dumb ass coach that, you know, makes travel
- 2:41Speaker 2: plans that puts you in a bad spot. There you go.
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's hard not to like Sean McVay. I mean, it's just,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I like, I like the fact that he'll just say it. Um,
- 2:53Speaker 1: You know, he's also– I think he's done some nice
- 2:58Speaker 1: things for Stetson Bennett behind the scenes too, for what
- 3:02Speaker 1: that's worth, and keeping things private. But publicly, I mean,
- 3:09Speaker 1: he's one of the coaches, and I'd say one of
- 3:11Speaker 1: the few coaches, you want to go have a beer with.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Yeah. And if I was having a beer with him,
- 3:17Speaker 2: my number one question I'd like to ask Sean McVay
- 3:20Speaker 2: is if he is coloring his beard. because I feel
- 3:24Speaker 2: like that beard is a different color right now. I
- 3:27Speaker 2: can say with certainty that Tom Brady has colored his hair.
- 3:31Speaker 2: His hair is almost Auburn now. It is so dark brown.
- 3:34Speaker 2: He's done more than that. It is way different than
- 3:37Speaker 2: it was a year ago when I saw him on
- 3:38Speaker 2: camera for the start of this NFL season. His hair
- 3:42Speaker 2: is very dark brown. I look at Sean McVay. We
- 3:44Speaker 2: may have to go. We may have to get JT
- 3:46Speaker 2: to find us a side-by-side of Sean McVay a year
- 3:49Speaker 2: ago and Sean McVay now. I suspect there's some beard
- 3:52Speaker 2: coloring going. I'm not saying that he shouldn't do it.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I'm not saying that I'm above it or anybody else.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I just think that there's some beard coloration that's happening. Hun,
- 4:02Speaker 2: I know you're not coloring your beard because the white
- 4:04Speaker 2: is coming in and it hasn't changed.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I think McVeigh's beard has changed. I can't paint the beard.
- 4:10Speaker 1: If I did, it would be very obvious.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Two things that jumped out to me about that, Hun.
- 4:14Speaker 2: His accountability and just falling on the sword that he
- 4:17Speaker 2: screwed up the travel plans and maybe over-thought it a
- 4:20Speaker 2: little bit of, oh, we're just going to treat it
- 4:21Speaker 2: like a normal road trip when it was anything but
- 4:23Speaker 2: a normal road trip. And two, beard coloring. Those are
- 4:27Speaker 2: the two things that jump out when I watch Sean
- 4:28Speaker 2: McVay in that video.
- 4:29Speaker 1: So he's now 40 years old. So that would also track, Chad.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'm looking at pictures of him. He definitely has red
- 4:38Speaker 1: hair when he's younger. And now it is a darker,
- 4:41Speaker 1: you're right, it is a darker color. He's one I
- 4:45Speaker 1: haven't noticed, and now I will. Brady, absolutely. He's doing
- 4:49Speaker 1: more than just dyeing his hair too.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Brady, you know how it's a trend with some women
- 4:55Speaker 2: now where their hair is almost like purple? It's like
- 4:57Speaker 2: such a dark brown.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's so dark.
- 4:59Speaker 2: It turns into like a light purple when you look
- 5:02Speaker 2: at it reflecting the sun. Yeah. That's Brady. His hair
- 5:05Speaker 2: is almost purple when you see a shot of him now.
- 5:08Speaker 2: But he's always been– Very, very different.
- 5:09Speaker 1: You know how like he would go into the playoffs
- 5:13Speaker 1: and get like rail thin? You know, like– have the
- 5:16Speaker 1: cleanse or whatever we were joking about back then. It
- 5:19Speaker 1: was very odd how he goes about things. I would
- 5:22Speaker 1: be curious about how he decides what he's going to
- 5:25Speaker 1: use and what he's not going to do just based
- 5:27Speaker 1: on the fact he claims he's never had coffee, but
- 5:30Speaker 1: he'll put paint in his hair.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Well, it's also not like a moral thing, I think,
- 5:36Speaker 2: with the coffee because he drinks alcohol. I don't know
- 5:38Speaker 2: that he does a lot now, but we've seen him
- 5:40Speaker 2: wasted time and time again. So we know that he
- 5:43Speaker 2: does that. Brooke says Saban 100% colors his hair and
- 5:47Speaker 2: has for years, no doubt about it. Saban, by the way,
- 5:50Speaker 2: let me just take a second to say, the dude
- 5:53Speaker 2: looks fantastic. He does not age at all. He looks
- 5:57Speaker 2: great year to year. Every time I see him, I'm like, man,
- 6:01Speaker 2: that guy has aged very well. I think dyeing the
- 6:04Speaker 2: hair color probably adds to that youthful exuberance that Nick
- 6:08Speaker 2: Saban gives out at all times.
- 6:10Speaker 1: That would take so much effort, though, to keep that up.
- 6:14Speaker 2: You know? Oh, by the way, he's 74 now. You're right. Yeah.
- 6:21Speaker 2: How old is Spurrier? David Griffin says, spray paint for
- 6:26Speaker 2: the bald spot. I haven't noticed that. I don't know
- 6:30Speaker 2: if he's talking about Saban or... I think he's talking about...
- 6:33Speaker 2: He's got to be talking about Saban because Saban is bald.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Saban's bald in the back. I have seen a little bit.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Spurrier's 81. Yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 1: That's another coach that I think looks younger than that
- 6:43Speaker 1: for sure.
- 6:44Speaker 2: He doesn't walk younger than that. I'll tell you that. We, uh,
- 6:48Speaker 2: we interviewed him hunting in 2021. And I mean, I
- 6:51Speaker 2: thought he was going to have to be assisted to
- 6:53Speaker 2: get over to the spot, but then he plopped down.
- 6:56Speaker 2: It was great.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But we got over there with us, but he's got
- 6:58Speaker 1: a hard time walking. No, you said something about like
- 7:01Speaker 1: helping him with a seed or need somebody.
- 7:02Speaker 2: He's like, no, I got it. I got it. You know?
- 7:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah. He moved that thing out and sat down.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I was the one who needed help because it was
- 7:08Speaker 2: 107 degrees and I was pouring buckets of sweat the
- 7:10Speaker 2: entire interview.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Hey, uh, one thing, uh, I would guess someone who
- 7:17Speaker 1: doesn't dye their hair is Aaron Rodgers.
- 7:21Speaker 2: All natural.
- 7:22Speaker 1: All ayahuasca.
- 7:24Speaker 2: All darkness retreat.
- 7:26Speaker 1: And he was asked, on the road, they lose to
- 7:30Speaker 1: New England this past Sunday in a bad weather game.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Difficult to move the football. And he was asked to
- 7:39Speaker 1: assess it. And when he starts speaking, you think, oh,
- 7:41Speaker 1: here's Rodgers saying it. He's given an example to all
- 7:44Speaker 1: younger quarterbacks. Hey, just take the blame. Put the blame
- 7:47Speaker 1: on you. When things go well, point to everyone else.
- 7:49Speaker 1: And when things don't go well, say it.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Was my fault.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Here's how Rodgers starts that way and really didn't end
- 7:55Speaker 1: up on the same path.
- 7:57Speaker 3: In a game like today where there wasn't a lot
- 7:59Speaker 3: of flow to it, we need to be better, and
- 8:00Speaker 3: it starts with me, at making sure Mike knows what's working,
- 8:05Speaker 3: what's not working, our coaches know, and so we can
- 8:08Speaker 3: call stuff that we feel like has a better chance.
- 8:13Speaker 1: And then he was asked to follow up. He's like,
- 8:15Speaker 1: play call. Play call. When asked about what he's talking
- 8:21Speaker 1: about with getting back to Mike. McCarthy's calling the plays.
- 8:25Speaker 1: He knows McCarthy well. Clearly, he's just saying they're not
- 8:30Speaker 1: communicating very well. I don't know how that's possible. But
- 8:34Speaker 1: now that's the storyline for Pittsburgh is Rodgers and McCarthy.
- 8:37Speaker 1: And when things don't go well this upcoming week, watch
- 8:39Speaker 1: out because everyone's going to be peppering him with questions.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I am an unabashed Aaron Rodgers homer. I make no
- 8:45Speaker 2: apologies for it, make no mistake about it. I love
- 8:48Speaker 2: the dude. I think most of the stuff he says
- 8:50Speaker 2: is very smart. I find him to be very entertaining.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I want him to do very well this season for Pittsburgh. Now,
- 8:57Speaker 2: I'll also say with Aaron Rodgers, it could have been
- 8:59Speaker 2: one or two play calls he disagreed with that ended
- 9:02Speaker 2: up not working out that he's talking about and not
- 9:04Speaker 2: an entire game of play calling because that's going to
- 9:08Speaker 2: stick in his craw. If he feels like I wanted
- 9:10Speaker 2: to do this on third and five and they wanted
- 9:13Speaker 2: to do this and I hated that call and then
- 9:15Speaker 2: it didn't work the way I thought it wouldn't work,
- 9:17Speaker 2: he's going to remember that more than anything else. I
- 9:22Speaker 2: think he's a guy who can get away with this.
- 9:25Speaker 2: There are different rules for different quarterbacks at different stages
- 9:28Speaker 2: of their career. I don't think this is going to
- 9:30Speaker 2: be some damning thing to the Pittsburgh Steelers' chances. I
- 9:34Speaker 2: don't think it's going to cause a lot of problems
- 9:36Speaker 2: with him and Mike McCarthy and I understand what he's
- 9:39Speaker 2: saying in that I need to do a better job
- 9:42Speaker 2: of communicating I don't feel good doing this or I
- 9:45Speaker 2: don't think our team can do this right now. We
- 9:48Speaker 2: need to get more into a flow of what has
- 9:49Speaker 2: worked or what can work against what a New England
- 9:53Speaker 2: Patriots defense is doing to us and not necessarily what
- 9:57Speaker 2: the play call sheet says we're going to do on
- 9:59Speaker 2: 3rd and 7th. We've got to change off of that
- 10:02Speaker 2: based off what we're seeing. I get what he's saying.
- 10:05Speaker 2: It just needs to be more of a collaboration. Look,
- 10:07Speaker 2: if you're employing Aaron Rodgers at 43 years old to
- 10:14Speaker 2: be your quarterback, Hutton, I think you're employing him to
- 10:16Speaker 2: be a collaboration. He's not just your employee. He's a
- 10:19Speaker 2: collaborator on the offense this point in his career.
- 10:21Speaker 1: He turns 43 during the season. Okay. So you're not
- 10:25Speaker 1: wrong there. He will be 43 this season. So there's
- 10:29Speaker 1: a couple of things with the Steelers' offense that in
- 10:31Speaker 1: one cut you're not hearing. The offensive line has really struggled.
- 10:34Speaker 1: They can't run the football. I think they have like
- 10:36Speaker 1: 140 yards combined over the first two weeks rushing. They
- 10:40Speaker 1: can't run the football. And then Michael Pittman's hurt. And
- 10:44Speaker 1: DK Metcalfe. On the other side, he has 27 yards receiving.
- 10:49Speaker 1: He was targeted nine times in New England. He has
- 10:52Speaker 1: 27 yards receiving in the game. So who else are
- 10:54Speaker 1: you going to if you can't run the football in Pittsburgh?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Putting up three points, I mean, the opposite ends of
- 11:01Speaker 1: the spectrum between Rodgers and Cam Ward, but that's an
- 11:03Speaker 1: offense that kind of looks the same on the scoreboard
- 11:06Speaker 1: right now. And I think that Rodgers is also, and
- 11:09Speaker 1: I think McCarthy said this too, it's the volume of
- 11:13Speaker 1: the playbook. It's not just the call sheet. It's how
- 11:16Speaker 1: many plays they're bringing into the game plan. Simplifying things
- 11:20Speaker 1: and Rodgers actually communicating what's working, what's not, and let's
- 11:22Speaker 1: cut out the BS. But he came back and wanted
- 11:26Speaker 1: to play for McCarthy. I mean, that's part of this.
- 11:30Speaker 1: They don't hire Mike McCarthy unless we're making Rodgers happy,
- 11:34Speaker 1: I would guess.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Well, and they've got a real opportunity here, Pittsburgh. I mean,
- 11:41Speaker 2: they get the win over the Falcons, but I mean,
- 11:43Speaker 2: their schedule, they get Cincinnati at home, which is probably
- 11:46Speaker 2: the toughest game they're going to have in over a month.
- 11:48Speaker 2: After that, they go to Cleveland. They got Indianapolis at home.
- 11:52Speaker 2: They've got the Bucs, who look bad right now. They
- 11:54Speaker 2: get the Saints at home. They get the Browns again
- 11:57Speaker 2: before they go to Cincinnati on November 15th. I mean,
- 12:02Speaker 2: lose one of those games maybe, right? And you've got
- 12:05Speaker 2: a chance to have a really good record in mid-November
- 12:07Speaker 2: if you're the Pittsburgh Steelers. Some winnable games. I look
- 12:10Speaker 2: at those, and I think the Steelers are going to
- 12:12Speaker 2: win more than they're going to lose coming up.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They also have one of the oldest rosters. So I wonder,
- 12:18Speaker 1: and 43 factors into the average age. But they do
- 12:21Speaker 1: have one of the older rosters. Do you have the
- 12:23Speaker 1: schedule still pulled up for Pittsburgh?
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yes.
- 12:26Speaker 1: So remember, they had Pittsburgh on this gauntlet schedule recently.
- 12:30Speaker 1: with Tomlin, where they were on the road or they
- 12:32Speaker 1: were playing Thursday, they had short weeks, late in the season.
- 12:36Speaker 1: How do they finish? Do they have a string of
- 12:37Speaker 1: home games now? And are they division matchups? Because I
- 12:40Speaker 1: wonder if they've helped them this year.
- 12:42Speaker 2: They've got that very mid lineup of games that I
- 12:45Speaker 2: told you about. And then starting November 15th, they go
- 12:47Speaker 2: to Cincinnati, to Philly. They get Denver at home. They
- 12:52Speaker 2: get the Texans at home. Yeah. They go to Jacksonville,
- 12:55Speaker 2: and then they finish up with Ravens, Panthers– At Titans,
- 13:00Speaker 2: at Ravens.
- 13:02Speaker 1: They play Baltimore twice in a month, and that could
- 13:06Speaker 1: determine the division.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Good.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I think there's a chance that AFC North is getting...
- 13:14Speaker 1: They once got three teams in. Not should have. Ravens
- 13:19Speaker 1: lost out in the final game with Pittsburgh last year.
- 13:22Speaker 1: But Pittsburgh didn't look like a playoff team when they
- 13:24Speaker 1: played the playoffs as a 7C. They've got to be
- 13:28Speaker 1: better than this, though. Everyone's scoring points now. I wouldn't be.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Surprised if they were 8-1 and then missed the playoffs.
- 13:35Speaker 2: It could be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a year ago
- 13:38Speaker 2: when you look at their schedule.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I don't want to sleep on the Colts yet. They
- 13:45Speaker 1: went toe-to-toe with Kansas City at Arrowhead. This week determines
- 13:49Speaker 1: which team is coming out of the AFC South with Jacksonville.
- 13:53Speaker 1: It's Colts and Texans. Chat coming up. Plenty to discuss.
- 13:59Speaker 1: And we have some headlines to get to sportstate.com and
- 14:03Speaker 1: much more. This is Huntley Withrow, and we're presented by
- 14:06Speaker 1: Hard Rock Bet.
- 14:08Speaker 2: It's Huntley Withrow. We are presented by Hard Rock Bet.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Chad, one of our favorites, Crockett Coffee, named after a legend,

- 15:20Speaker 1: Chad, so what's this BS you're talking about with broadcast
- 15:24Speaker 1: now for NFL broadcast?
- 15:27Speaker 2: I guess just in general. So, and I want the
- 15:32Speaker 2: YouTube chat in on this also. Okay. Hold on. Because
- 15:38Speaker 2: I'm putting the question out there to make sure everybody's
- 15:39Speaker 2: got it. So here's my thing. Here's my thing, Hutton. Okay.
- 15:44Speaker 2: And I brought this up. I'm going to sound like
- 15:46Speaker 2: a gigantic prude when I say this. Okay. I am not.
- 15:51Speaker 2: All right. I swear. I use curse words. I cuss
- 15:54Speaker 2: way too much. I shouldn't cuss as much as I
- 15:56Speaker 2: do at times. I try to cuss less at times.
- 16:00Speaker 2: So I'm not condoning someone for dropping an F-bomb or
- 16:04Speaker 2: using curse words or swearing. I'll just say it like this.
- 16:08Speaker 2: You know, when you were a kid, And you're a teenager.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I know someone who had this happen to them. They
- 16:16Speaker 2: thought when they were a teenager, smoking cigarettes was cool.
- 16:19Speaker 2: So they smoked a cigarette and they got caught by
- 16:22Speaker 2: their dad. And the dad's response was to make the
- 16:26Speaker 2: son chain smoke an entire pack in front of him
- 16:29Speaker 2: until he got sick. And then it wasn't so cool
- 16:32Speaker 2: smoking cigarettes anymore because your dad was in front of
- 16:35Speaker 2: you while you were smoking the cigarette. And suddenly it
- 16:38Speaker 2: was way less taboo. and not nearly as cool to
- 16:41Speaker 2: smoke cigarettes. And oh, by the way, cigarettes are bad
- 16:45Speaker 2: for you, and I feel sick now, and I don't
- 16:47Speaker 2: ever want to smoke a cigarette again. I kind of
- 16:49Speaker 2: feel that way about cussing on broadcast television in sports.
- 16:53Speaker 2: It was cool in 2007 when Peyton Manning went on SNL,
- 17:01Speaker 2: and he does the Boys and Girls Club sketch, and
- 17:04Speaker 2: they're bleeping out curse words when he's cussing at the children.
- 17:07Speaker 2: It was funny. You know, he's saying block, bleep and block,
- 17:10Speaker 2: but they're bleeping it out. Like, that was cool. That
- 17:14Speaker 2: was mysterious. Like, oh my gosh, Peyton Manning cusses? I
- 17:17Speaker 2: didn't know that. This guy's so well-prepared and polished, I've
- 17:20Speaker 2: never heard him say a cuss word before. I kind
- 17:22Speaker 2: of like this, and it was a little bit risque.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And it was different when you saw it on SNL.
- 17:28Speaker 2: When I see Nick Saban every single week at 8 a.m.
- 17:31Speaker 2: on a Saturday morning dropping curse words, when I see
- 17:35Speaker 2: Pat McAfee and hear him dropping curse words routinely, when
- 17:39Speaker 2: seemingly every coach in America feels the need to drop
- 17:43Speaker 2: an F-bomb or say something crazy in a press conference
- 17:47Speaker 2: all the time, when Trinidad Chambliss drops the hottie effin'
- 17:51Speaker 2: toddy at the end of praising Jesus for the entire interview.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I just, is there a law of diminishing returns? I'm
- 18:00Speaker 2: asking this question. I want our audience to chime in
- 18:03Speaker 2: on this. Am I being a giant prude? Do you
- 18:07Speaker 2: care at all if you hear it? I have seen
- 18:11Speaker 2: some people say, I have kids in the room on
- 18:14Speaker 2: Saturday morning watching College Game Day. It's very weird to
- 18:17Speaker 2: hear cuss words coming out of their mouths on College
- 18:20Speaker 2: Game Day. And the College Game Day thing is probably
- 18:23Speaker 2: a separate conversation of how that show is really taking
- 18:26Speaker 2: a turn because people are really pissed about their interview
- 18:28Speaker 2: with Ted Cruz. And they're even more pissed that Kirk
- 18:31Speaker 2: Herbstreit acts like he doesn't know who Ted Cruz is.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I mean, his complete mystery was I don't know why
- 18:36Speaker 2: he was on. I didn't know anything about him. And
- 18:39Speaker 2: then the fans were chanting that they hated him, and
- 18:41Speaker 2: I didn't know anything about it. And I think people
- 18:43Speaker 2: are more angry about playing the idiot than anything else
- 18:47Speaker 2: when it comes to that and not just owning it.
- 18:50Speaker 2: I don't know. I feel like you probably fall on
- 18:52Speaker 2: the other side of this. I don't ultimately care that much,
- 18:55Speaker 2: but I can kind of side with the person that
- 18:57Speaker 2: says it's just too much, especially on morning college football
- 19:02Speaker 2: shows with all the cussing that's going on.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I do follow the other side of this for now.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Let me say for now. Because we have entered an
- 19:12Speaker 1: era where no one says anything anymore.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Like of substance.
- 19:18Speaker 1: If we hear from a Tennessee Titans player, it's from
- 19:21Speaker 1: behind a podium. Or it's on Bustin' with the Boys.
- 19:28Speaker 2: That's it. That's it. I don't know.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Refreshing is not the right word. But I like the
- 19:35Speaker 1: fact that a coach will come on our show and
- 19:37Speaker 1: act like he would normally act. It's no different than what.
- 19:42Speaker 2: We saw from Memphis.
- 19:44Speaker 1: You know, like, he didn't come on cussing, but he
- 19:46Speaker 1: was himself, right?
- 19:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Same thing with Summerall. Same thing with the coaches we've had.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Same thing with, let's see, who was our coach that
- 19:59Speaker 1: we had on? Oh, well, that.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Was Whittingham, right? He came on recently. Kyle Whittingham? On
- 20:06Speaker 2: our show? Yeah, didn't he? No. I don't think so.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Unless you remember an interview that I don't. I'd love
- 20:13Speaker 2: to get Kyle Whittingham on. Whenever he was at Utah?
- 20:15Speaker 2: I mean, maybe he did a couple years ago. We
- 20:19Speaker 2: asked him if he was going to retire. Oh, okay, yeah, yeah. Yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 2: back in the old show days. But he was himself. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 1: But I'm saying he didn't like the fact that he
- 20:29Speaker 1: was having to discuss that, but he answered the question.
- 20:32Speaker 2: He was himself.
- 20:33Speaker 1: He said, no, I don't feel like I'm stepping away.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 20:37Speaker 1: But he had named a coach in waiting. I like
- 20:39Speaker 1: the fact that some guys will start to say something.
- 20:43Speaker 1: We're also in an era where coaches haven't really said
- 20:45Speaker 1: much on NIL, on the rules. They say things privately,
- 20:49Speaker 1: but not as a collective group. They have a lot
- 20:52Speaker 1: of power when it comes to how they're going to
- 20:55Speaker 1: be heard in regards to their conference, in regards to
- 20:58Speaker 1: their president. I like to hear someone other than Saban
- 21:05Speaker 1: just kind of be themselves. That was Brady in the moment.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I don't think, that's not intentional. McAfee, that's intentional.
- 21:13Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 21:14Speaker 1: Like getting the crowd chanting at LSU to chant head,
- 21:20Speaker 1: and then he's bleeping out the word by speaking over
- 21:23Speaker 1: the cuss word.
- 21:24Speaker 2: That's intentional.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Brady saying that is just kind of A player not knowing. Yeah,
- 21:30Speaker 1: the Brady thing, I want to separate into different boxes
- 21:33Speaker 1: here of what we're talking about. Because the Brady thing
- 21:35Speaker 1: was a total emotionally raw moment from a former quarterback
- 21:38Speaker 1: who's also lost a season to injury, who just.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Reacted that way and immediately apologized. Like, I got no
- 21:45Speaker 2: issue with Brady.
- 21:46Speaker 1: He knew what he did.
- 21:46Speaker 2: He screwed up on a national broadcast and said that
- 21:49Speaker 2: word in the moment and said, apologies. I just really
- 21:52Speaker 2: wasn't expecting to see that on the replay. I've got
- 21:55Speaker 2: no issue with Brady on that. I've got no issue
- 21:58Speaker 2: with coaches getting emotional at a press conference. Okay, in
- 22:01Speaker 2: a press conference setting, you're there with your local media,
- 22:04Speaker 2: you're talking, you drive. The occasional cuss word, the way
- 22:07Speaker 2: Josh Heupel did when asked about the Arion Carter NCAA situation,
- 22:11Speaker 2: and he said it was BS, except he said it.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I've got no issue with that. I want a different–
- 22:18Speaker 2: we come from the world, Hutton, of broadcast– of either
- 22:22Speaker 2: radio or television broadcast. I believe that should be different
- 22:26Speaker 2: than what we'll do on a podcast or digital show.
- 22:29Speaker 2: And that should be different than what a post-game press
- 22:32Speaker 2: conference would be for a head coach. I don't need
- 22:36Speaker 2: college game day cussing at me at 8.30 in the morning.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I grew up where college game day was this feel-good,
- 22:43Speaker 2: cathartic moment that you made it to Saturday, the college
- 22:47Speaker 2: football day is here, and Lee Corso made you feel
- 22:49Speaker 2: good about everything. Brooks Carter had a good point. He said,
- 22:52Speaker 2: Lee Corso said, ah, F it, and grabbed the headset
- 22:56Speaker 2: and accidentally cussed in 2011, then had to issue an
- 22:58Speaker 2: apology through ESPN after he cussed on air. Things have
- 23:03Speaker 2: changed since 2011 to 2026 with what you see on
- 23:07Speaker 2: shows like College Game Day now. I just think it's overkill.
- 23:11Speaker 2: I mean, I really do. I just think it's complete
- 23:13Speaker 2: overkill on the broadcast part of it. I'm with you, though.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I don't want to stop coaches from being themselves. or players,
- 23:20Speaker 2: I want more of that. And if being themselves is cussing, okay,
- 23:23Speaker 2: so be it. I just don't think they need to
- 23:25Speaker 2: do it in a post-game interview on the field. I
- 23:28Speaker 2: don't think they need to do it when they go
- 23:30Speaker 2: on a national broadcast. I like a separation of church
- 23:34Speaker 2: and state a little bit when it comes to those things.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Maybe I'm too old-fashioned. That's all fair.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Again, I would say intentional or doing it as a
- 23:44Speaker 1: WWE promo, that's Pat McAfee. To me, that's different than
- 23:49Speaker 1: just something slips. Not consistent. I try not to put
- 23:58Speaker 1: those in the same light. McAfee's becoming irritating, but he's entertaining.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Everyone's tuned into that kick, the field goal kick. It's
- 24:09Speaker 1: a great question, though, because we also grew up in
- 24:12Speaker 1: an era with Austin 316 says, I just whipped your ass.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Like, yeah, but that, that was, we knew what you
- 24:17Speaker 1: were watching, right?
- 24:18Speaker 2: It's wrestling.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I mean, it's, it's just, again, like. It was a
- 24:22Speaker 1: huge shift. It was a huge shift in wrestling though.
- 24:25Speaker 2: I like when college football, at least on its face,
- 24:29Speaker 2: like the appearance on the television of the national stuff
- 24:33Speaker 2: is wholesome. Is it's something different that we know coaches
- 24:38Speaker 2: and players cuss on the field. And cuss at each
- 24:40Speaker 2: other and cuss in the locker room and all of that.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I just don't need to see it at all times.
- 24:47Speaker 2: And my perspective has changed with kids, certainly. I don't
- 24:51Speaker 2: remember a time that we're all sitting around watching College
- 24:53Speaker 2: Game Day and my daughter heard a curse word. But
- 24:56Speaker 2: I am thinking when Nick Saban drops it and then
- 24:59Speaker 2: Pat McAfee's cussing all the time too, it just gets–
- 25:02Speaker 2: and then they're all kind of giggling. Everybody else on set,
- 25:05Speaker 2: like they're 13 years old when a cuss word is said.
- 25:08Speaker 2: It's just– It's too much. I would prefer college game day.
- 25:13Speaker 2: And I think Lee Corso, who I love, was because
- 25:17Speaker 2: of health reasons and age. I mean, he was bad
- 25:20Speaker 2: at talking about games. He couldn't complete a thought. He
- 25:22Speaker 2: couldn't tell you the names of people. It was sad. Yeah,
- 25:25Speaker 2: it was sad towards the end. But Lee Corso still,
- 25:28Speaker 2: when he was on camera... made you feel good about
- 25:32Speaker 2: college football, about the games, about everything else. I would
- 25:36Speaker 2: like to see a little bit more of that and
- 25:38Speaker 2: a little bit less of Pat McAfee WWE cursing promos
- 25:42Speaker 2: over the course of the whole thing, which, by the way,
- 25:44Speaker 2: he's excellent at. And he really knows football. He's very good.
- 25:47Speaker 2: He's just everywhere.
- 25:48Speaker 1: He's very good on it. He's on Monday Night Football now.
- 25:53Speaker 2: It's just everywhere. He's also very good on the show
- 25:55Speaker 2: at being a good teammate. He sets up Nick Saban.
- 25:59Speaker 2: He sets up Dez. He's good with everybody on set, too. Yeah,
- 26:03Speaker 2: I agree.
- 26:04Speaker 1: At one point, WWE's in the ring. He's being asked
- 26:11Speaker 1: to do it because he's entertaining people to watch. I'm
- 26:13Speaker 1: not saying the ratings aren't good. I'm just saying, man,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I see the same thing.
- 26:18Speaker 2: But it works. Now he's smoking a joint on air, apparently.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Was that– yeah, so he was burning sage? Is that
- 26:25Speaker 2: the comeback that he said he was doing? It looked
- 26:27Speaker 2: like a joint, but he said he burned sage in
- 26:29Speaker 2: the studio? Because they brought it up on college game day,
- 26:31Speaker 2: and he made a– Kirk Herbstreit made a passing line about, oh,
- 26:35Speaker 2: like you burn sage in the studio also when you
- 26:38Speaker 2: do that. Yeah, whatever. The guy gets away with whatever
- 26:41Speaker 2: he wants, clearly.
- 26:43Speaker 1: I mean, I haven't seen someone smoke a joint like
- 26:44Speaker 1: that in a long time. People are vaping now or
- 26:47Speaker 1: taking gummies, you know?
- 26:50Speaker 2: That's one thing that is old school with McAfee apparently
- 26:54Speaker 2: I guess.
- 26:54Speaker 1: So I real quick a story about coach Mac so
- 26:57Speaker 1: uh first first broadcast we're on the road two days
- 27:01Speaker 1: before we go to uh New York Mike Keith voice
- 27:03Speaker 1: of the Titans gathers everyone up except for Mac and
- 27:06Speaker 1: says guys pre pre-game you guys cannot get him going
- 27:10Speaker 1: because he's got the coach speak you know he's he's
- 27:13Speaker 1: he's locked in he's you know He's more than saving.
- 27:16Speaker 1: You know, he's Doug Matthews on the sideline. And we're
- 27:21Speaker 1: very quiet pregame. And we're so quiet that Mac comes
- 27:24Speaker 1: in and immediately just goes in like a coach, dropping,
- 27:30Speaker 1: you know, F this. Or, you know, you guys need
- 27:32Speaker 1: to get up, get the F up. Because he's in
- 27:34Speaker 1: coach mode. And Mike looks back at us going, oh, gosh,
- 27:37Speaker 1: not one time did he drop any gut word on air.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Like Delaney Walker would come on with us. Not one
- 27:45Speaker 1: time did he have a slip-up. Taylor LeJuan went on
- 27:48Speaker 1: Titans Radio recently. They were really worried about that. He
- 27:51Speaker 1: didn't slip up. Guys kind of know when you're on
- 27:55Speaker 1: certain broadcasts, but good for them. Podcast, podcast. Some guys
- 28:01Speaker 1: can get away with it. Tom Brady and Nick Saban
- 28:03Speaker 1: can get away with that, Chad. I don't think we
- 28:05Speaker 1: can get away with it.
- 28:06Speaker 2: No, and I love the Coach Mack story, by the way,
- 28:09Speaker 2: because Coach Mack's a pro. He knows where he is
- 28:11Speaker 2: and what situation he's in, and he can turn it
- 28:13Speaker 2: on and off like a pro would be able to
- 28:15Speaker 2: turn it on and off. There are times where I
- 28:17Speaker 2: think Nick Saban, who is a pro, he knows what
- 28:22Speaker 2: he's saying when he says it. I've never said a
- 28:25Speaker 2: cuss word on mic or on camera that I didn't
- 28:28Speaker 2: plan on saying. I've never slipped up. Like if I've
- 28:31Speaker 2: said a cuss word on a podcast or anything, I've
- 28:33Speaker 2: meant to say it. I don't think– I obviously use
- 28:36Speaker 2: the F word in real life. I don't know that
- 28:39Speaker 2: I've ever said it on a show or a podcast
- 28:42Speaker 2: just out of personal preference. I've said every other possible
- 28:44Speaker 2: word you could probably say on something. But if you're
- 28:48Speaker 2: slipping up and doing it, then that's an issue when
- 28:51Speaker 2: you're on camera. Teenage players or guys in their early 20s,
- 28:56Speaker 2: you can understand it. Even Trinidad Chambliss said, I slipped
- 29:00Speaker 2: up and was emotional in the moment. When I said that,
- 29:02Speaker 2: he came back and apologized after the fact. To me,
- 29:07Speaker 2: we have reached the law of diminishing return when it
- 29:10Speaker 2: comes to that. It was dangerous. It was taboo. It
- 29:13Speaker 2: was funny for a time. And now it's gotten old.
- 29:16Speaker 2: It's gotten stale. I want to return to broadcast television
- 29:20Speaker 2: being broadcast television and not feeling the need to curse anymore.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Every 30 or 40 words. Let me try to say
- 29:27Speaker 1: it in a different way. You don't want it to
- 29:29Speaker 1: become the norm where you're just numb to it and
- 29:31Speaker 1: don't notice it.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Correct.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Yes, I totally understand. I agree with that. I still
- 29:37Speaker 1: notice it when I hear it, but our background and profession.
- 29:40Speaker 1: would notice that.
- 29:42Speaker 2: It was shocking when Brady said it. When I heard
- 29:44Speaker 2: it live in the moment, when he dropped it on
- 29:46Speaker 2: the game broadcast and he knows he screwed up, that
- 29:49Speaker 2: was shocking to me. It still should be shocking. It
- 29:53Speaker 2: doesn't need to continue to be the norm anymore. And
- 29:56Speaker 2: I use College Game Day as the example because that
- 29:59Speaker 2: is a morning college football show on a Saturday morning
- 30:02Speaker 2: that is there to capture the essence of college football.
- 30:07Speaker 2: And that's not the place for it, in my opinion.
- 30:10Speaker 2: I think Pat Mack, if he can be equally as
- 30:12Speaker 2: funny and cut a good promo without cursing. And if
- 30:16Speaker 2: that makes me an old fuddy-duddy at this point, then
- 30:19Speaker 2: so be it. I just don't think it's necessary. But
- 30:21Speaker 2: if I'm an ESPN executive, Hutton, I'm telling him, I
- 30:24Speaker 2: think you're great without saying it. You don't need to
- 30:27Speaker 2: say it.
- 30:29Speaker 1: We both know they can't tell him anything. But I
- 30:31Speaker 1: will say, he is way more edited than he is
- 30:35Speaker 1: on his show. It's the same network.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Remember when he got called out by the fans and
- 30:44Speaker 1: they were like, this doesn't feel the same.
- 30:46Speaker 2: He nearly quit. He does understand the.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Show he's on, but he's doing what they hired him
- 30:55Speaker 1: to do.
- 30:56Speaker 2: That's also part of it.
- 30:58Speaker 1: He's entertaining us, but I understand you don't want to
- 31:02Speaker 1: have it where it's just becoming the norm. That's part
- 31:05Speaker 1: of the lure there, too, with him. He's getting the
- 31:08Speaker 1: chance going. We hear it in the stadiums from the
- 31:10Speaker 1: student sections We certainly heard it at Ole Miss with
- 31:14Speaker 1: the F.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin stuff.
- 31:17Speaker 1: That's just kind of where we are. But in high school, Chad,
- 31:21Speaker 1: we would come up with a word that sounded like
- 31:24Speaker 1: a word. You would say skeet instead of something.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Well, I don't like that either. I don't like the
- 31:37Speaker 2: student sections chanting behind college game day. obscenities to that
- 31:41Speaker 2: level also, which happens everywhere. But it's also, again, that's
- 31:46Speaker 2: a separate thing about college kid profanity and obscenity versus
- 31:52Speaker 2: 74-year-old Nick Saban cussing into a microphone.
- 31:57Speaker 1: That's why they want to be under the lights at
- 31:59Speaker 1: Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, because they're all liquored up and.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Ready to go.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Have you heard some of the phone calls, by the way, post-game?
- 32:08Speaker 1: how pissed off LSU fans are.
- 32:11Speaker 2: It's been crazy.
- 32:12Speaker 1: It's hilarious.
- 32:13Speaker 2: I'm also seeing right now at Sporting State a story
- 32:16Speaker 2: up from Mark J. Burns about Texas expecting no issues
- 32:20Speaker 2: ahead of their reunion with Holly Rowe. We've got to
- 32:22Speaker 2: get into that when we come back. Yeah, let's do that. Okay, good. Yes,
- 32:25Speaker 2: just posted.
- 32:26Speaker 1: We'll get into that story straight ahead here on Hutton Withrow.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Hey, it's Hutton Withrow.
- 32:31Speaker 1: We are presented by Hard Rock Bank. Shout out Jennifer Say.
- 32:36Speaker 1: She's the former national champion gymnast, former Levi's brand president.
- 32:40Speaker 1: She walked away from a corporate job rather than to
- 32:41Speaker 1: say something that she didn't believe, and she founded XXXY Athletics.
- 32:46Speaker 1: The mission, in their words, empower female athletes, take a
- 32:49Speaker 1: stand for fair competition, and they call it the T
- 32:51Speaker 1: that launched a movement. This is real athletic apparel chat.
- 32:54Speaker 1: It's where you get the official Nashville Balls WNBA gear.
- 32:58Speaker 2: That's right. T's, trucker hats featuring the Nashville Balls available
- 33:02Speaker 2: at XXXY. X, Y athletics, new customers get 20% off

- 33:08Speaker 2: over a hundred bucks, X, X, X, Y athletics.com. That's X,
- 33:12Speaker 2: X hyphen X, Y athletics.com. Mark Burns.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Uh, with the, uh, story right now at sport and state.com, uh,
- 33:20Speaker 1: top headline, Texas expects no issues ahead of reunion with
- 33:24Speaker 1: ESPN's Holly row for Longhorns balls. Uh, of course we,
- 33:28Speaker 1: we know, uh, what happened with Sarkeesian and, uh, what
- 33:32Speaker 1: happened at halftime versus postgame and how that caused a stir.
- 33:36Speaker 1: We know how Arch Manning has apologized to Holly Rowe,
- 33:40Speaker 1: and she posted that she spoke with him, and they
- 33:42Speaker 1: won't go into details of the conversation, but she accepts
- 33:44Speaker 1: the apology.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Chad, I would say this. I would hope not.
- 33:48Speaker 1: I would hope that they have this behind them now
- 33:50Speaker 1: that Holly has said that she accepts the apology. But
- 33:54Speaker 1: Sporting State reached out and asked the Texas Senior Associate
- 34:00Speaker 1: Athletic Director, of communications, John Bianco, if Sarkeesian and Manning
- 34:06Speaker 1: will participate in the interviews, Bianco simply said yes.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Yes. Which is good. Yes, yes. All the pre-planned production meetings, too,
- 34:16Speaker 2: they're going to take part in. Everything's standard. It'll be
- 34:20Speaker 2: full systems go for Tennessee and Texas. Here's what I'll
- 34:24Speaker 2: say about Holly Rowe and the ESPN side of this.
- 34:28Speaker 2: It better be okay. Yeah. I mean, if she harbors
- 34:31Speaker 2: some judgment towards them or she's got an attitude about it,
- 34:35Speaker 2: she's as much to blame as anybody else. And same
- 34:38Speaker 2: goes for Sark in Texas and Arch Manning. You just
- 34:41Speaker 2: move forward like it didn't happen before. Now, it would
- 34:45Speaker 2: have been funny if Bianco's response would have been, when
- 34:48Speaker 2: asked if he's going to follow everything protocol like normal,
- 34:51Speaker 2: he said, I don't know, are they going to have
- 34:52Speaker 2: tech issues again? If that would have been the response,
- 34:55Speaker 2: because then it might derail some things too.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Or, I don't know, will the rest of the media
- 34:59Speaker 1: allow us to You know, that was the response to
- 35:02Speaker 1: everyone taking the stance of apologize to Arch Manning. Arch
- 35:06Speaker 1: Manning owes an apology. Everyone wants the apologize culture. And
- 35:11Speaker 1: it quickly shifted from Sarkeesian to Manning. Now it's going
- 35:15Speaker 1: to be, it should be a non-story. I will say this, man.
- 35:20Speaker 1: It's a great question about the tech issues. Will Sarkeesian
- 35:23Speaker 1: stick around this time if they have tech issues or
- 35:25Speaker 1: is he bolted for the locker room?
- 35:28Speaker 2: Here's the other thing.
- 35:29Speaker 1: At the moment, I bet he bolts.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so Laura Rutledge is not going to be there
- 35:32Speaker 2: at this one, I don't think. Some of the biggest games,
- 35:35Speaker 2: they have both. Laura Rutledge and Holly Rowe were at
- 35:38Speaker 2: LSU Ole Miss. Laura Rutledge and Holly Rowe were at
- 35:42Speaker 2: Texas Ohio State. All I'm seeing on the broadcast announcement
- 35:45Speaker 2: is Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Holly Rowe. No Laura Rutledge.
- 35:50Speaker 2: If you're ESPN or Texas, wouldn't you just request Laura
- 35:54Speaker 2: Rutledge be the one to do the Texas interviews and
- 35:56Speaker 2: Holly Rowe can go be on the Tennessee sideline?
- 35:59Speaker 1: I don't– I mean– Then it becomes a story again.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Well, it's not an issue because they're both not doing
- 36:08Speaker 2: the game. But me, if I'm the producer of that show,
- 36:12Speaker 2: I'm just giving out assignments and saying, Holly, go be
- 36:15Speaker 2: with Josh Heupel and Faison Brandon in Tennessee this week.
- 36:18Speaker 2: You can embed with them and get all their stories. Hey, Laura,
- 36:21Speaker 2: you seem to have a good relationship with Texas. I mean,
- 36:24Speaker 2: that's just, to me, that's common sense of having the
- 36:27Speaker 2: best flowing broadcast going. Clearly, Laura Rutledge and Steve Sarkeesian
- 36:32Speaker 2: are okay. Well, Holly Roe and Steve Sarkeesian, not as great.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I would say this, though, man. There's also a way
- 36:39Speaker 1: to lean into this and to make it fun. You know,
- 36:43Speaker 1: like if you're Holly Roe. Feinbaum has done this with Kiffin.
- 36:46Speaker 1: You know, he's done with calling out Kiffin, and then
- 36:51Speaker 1: Kiffin comes on and plays into Feinbaum's show. But he
- 36:55Speaker 1: specifically does it with Feinbaum when Paul's going after him.
- 36:59Speaker 1: I mean, this is on– if you do it this week,
- 37:03Speaker 1: then you do it every week. And this won't be
- 37:05Speaker 1: the last time Texas is on a big game for
- 37:08Speaker 1: ESPN and ABC. I would expect not, especially with their
- 37:13Speaker 1: coach and their expectations. I don't think they're falling off
- 37:15Speaker 1: the face of the earth with all the matchups they
- 37:17Speaker 1: have coming up. This won't be the last time Holly Rose–
- 37:20Speaker 1: I'm guessing she's been through this before. And I would
- 37:25Speaker 1: hope that everything behind the scenes has been fine. because
- 37:28Speaker 1: you've heard from Art to apologize. And, I mean, Sark's
- 37:32Speaker 1: going to act like it's a non-story, too. Surely they
- 37:35Speaker 1: could get past whatever their reaction was by Holly Roe. But,
- 37:40Speaker 1: you know, next time she's in Austin, I wonder what
- 37:45Speaker 1: she's going to hear from the crowd. Did you see, Hutton,
- 37:49Speaker 1: the response? Holly Roe's mom died the day that Clay
- 37:53Speaker 1: bashed her, and Clay just got repeated. It's like Ole
- 37:56Speaker 1: Miss fans– pissed at us for Drunken Drew and our
- 37:59Speaker 1: interaction with him. Just days later, Clay kept getting deluged
- 38:03Speaker 1: with people.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Just, her mom died, dude. Hey, her mom died today.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Her mom died. And Clay finally came back and said, yeah,
- 38:11Speaker 2: I think it's a tragedy. I wish no one's mom
- 38:13Speaker 2: ever died. Doesn't change the fact that she behaved like
- 38:15Speaker 2: a spoiled brat. And even in her acceptance of the apology,
- 38:19Speaker 2: behaved like a spoiled brat when the whole thing went down.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I just I was laughing the whole time when I
- 38:24Speaker 2: saw how those stories linked up. And then Clay's response was, yeah,
- 38:28Speaker 2: I obviously did not wish for her mom to die.
- 38:30Speaker 2: I wish no one's mom ever died. But that happens
- 38:32Speaker 2: in America all the time. incredible stuff with the clay
- 38:36Speaker 2: back and forth with Holly Roe. I'll say this too
- 38:38Speaker 2: about Holly Roe. I don't know how much of a
- 38:39Speaker 2: sense of humor she has about herself. I don't think so.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Laura Rutledge has a sense of humor about herself. I
- 38:44Speaker 2: don't know that Holly Roe has that sense of humor.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Well, then it turns on her though. It's not Texas's fault.
- 38:49Speaker 1: I wouldn't, I wouldn't request anything. And if ESPN does that,
- 38:52Speaker 1: then why? I mean, if she can't handle this issue,
- 38:55Speaker 1: I mean, she's a, she's a, surely she's a pro, right?
- 38:57Speaker 1: Like be a pro in this situation. Texas is acting
- 39:00Speaker 1: like that. Arch acted like that. I mean, I just, I,
- 39:04Speaker 1: This should be a non-story from her end. And I
- 39:06Speaker 1: would also say from the media's end. What's his name?
- 39:09Speaker 1: Quinn Kucinich? I'm just trying to name some random. If
- 39:13Speaker 1: this were him, what's the reaction from the media?
- 39:16Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 39:16Speaker 1: They're just saying he looks like a prick, is what
- 39:19Speaker 1: they would say.
- 39:20Speaker 2: They wouldn't be saying, my queen, Holly Roe. My queen.
- 39:22Speaker 2: How dare you insult my queen in this way? Speaking
- 39:25Speaker 2: of the queen, Holly Roe, got to share this quick story,
- 39:27Speaker 2: which is one of my all-time favorites. I know that
- 39:29Speaker 2: Holly Roe is a pro. and can fight through anything,
- 39:33Speaker 2: because I once watched Holly Roe in Hoover, Alabama at
- 39:36Speaker 2: SEC Media Days conduct an interview with a guy named
- 39:40Speaker 2: Rich Taylor, a South Carolina radio host, with one headset.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Rich had the headset on with the mic, and he
- 39:48Speaker 2: didn't pack an extra one for his guest, so he
- 39:52Speaker 2: had to go face-to-face with Holly Roe, like this right here, So, Holly,
- 39:57Speaker 2: what game were you most excited about in the early
- 40:00Speaker 2: portion of the SEC schedule? And he would turn it
- 40:03Speaker 2: ever so slightly. If you're watching, you can visualize he's
- 40:07Speaker 2: turning the mic towards Holly Rowe, and she's having to
- 40:10Speaker 2: answer like they're kissing. They're that close face-to-face. Oh, wow.
- 40:14Speaker 2: And she would give the answer politely the whole time. Holly,
- 40:17Speaker 2: I know you're a pro because I saw you do that,
- 40:19Speaker 2: and you fought through circumstances. I don't know that I
- 40:21Speaker 2: could fight through in my professional career by having to
- 40:24Speaker 2: conduct an interview that way. And she had a smile
- 40:26Speaker 2: on her face the whole time. I said, like, I've
- 40:28Speaker 2: never respected Holly Roe more than that moment. This was
- 40:31Speaker 2: probably 17 years ago that this happened, a long time ago,
- 40:36Speaker 2: maybe longer than that. But, man, it was exceptional experience.
- 40:41Speaker 2: work by Holly Rowe to fight through that.
- 40:44Speaker 1: She stuck around longer than Sark did, is what you're saying.
- 40:46Speaker 1: I can't even imagine asking someone to do it. I'd
- 40:48Speaker 1: just be like, I'm sorry that I wasted your time
- 40:51Speaker 1: to sit down here. I'm not going to do the
- 40:52Speaker 1: interview this way. Enjoy the rest of your day. Your
- 40:57Speaker 1: recall of that is hilarious. There's been a lot of
- 41:01Speaker 1: weird Radio Rowe stories, but even knowing the guy's name
- 41:06Speaker 1: is awesome.
- 41:07Speaker 2: RT, it was The Drive with RT. was the name
- 41:10Speaker 2: of his show, Rich Taylor. Hilarious dude. But, I mean,
- 41:14Speaker 2: the back and forth with that, I cannot break that visual.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Anytime I see Holly Roe and think about it, was
- 41:21Speaker 2: how she had to be just nuzzled up to him
- 41:25Speaker 2: as the interviewer, and they are cheek to cheek conducting
- 41:28Speaker 2: an interview back and forth with the mic that comes
- 41:30Speaker 2: out on the side. Incredible.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Chad, hopefully no one is needing someone to apologize this
- 41:37Speaker 1: week to our queen, Holly Roe. because she has already
- 41:39Speaker 1: spoken on social media, Roe acknowledged and accepted Manny's apology. Quote,
- 41:44Speaker 1: we move forward with respect and kindness for one another.
- 41:47Speaker 1: Tell that to AI.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yeah, AI's got some other edits out there.
- 41:52Speaker 1: We move forward with respect and kindness. Again, I would
- 41:55Speaker 1: go back to, I guess we shouldn't watch Game of Thrones.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Because just watching it is apparently.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Well, I mean, look, there's a difference between actors who
- 42:05Speaker 2: are getting paid and are knowingly going and putting a
- 42:07Speaker 2: product out that are doing that with their bodies or
- 42:10Speaker 2: with violence and all of that, and that's part of
- 42:13Speaker 2: the entertainment, as opposed to someone unknowing to the person
- 42:17Speaker 2: taking their face and likeness and changing it to something.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Those are two very different things. So I will say
- 42:24Speaker 2: it is different than just a TV show. They also
- 42:28Speaker 2: changed that for S.A.R.K. too.
- 42:30Speaker 1: It goes both ways to make that.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Correct, but it does not turn S.A.R.K. into something he's
- 42:39Speaker 2: not within it. With the edits that I've seen of
- 42:43Speaker 2: Holly Rowe. Physically, I'm saying. Oh, the slap, though, is
- 42:48Speaker 2: what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 1: So go check out the story of full comments there
- 42:53Speaker 1: from Texas and much more. SportandState.com.

- 43:00Speaker 1: well as all the great writers.

- 43:05Speaker 1: Sport and State, the letter N. on X for more
- 43:10Speaker 1: info if you know somebody or if you're interested. Chad,
- 43:13Speaker 1: coming up, Hard Rock Bet. We have the SEC power lineup,
- 43:18Speaker 1: the early lines, and on our drive back from Oxford,
- 43:22Speaker 1: jumped in on a few of them. I want to
- 43:23Speaker 1: get your take on what I've taken and where you
- 43:27Speaker 1: think I'll end up, ahead of it or behind it,
- 43:30Speaker 1: across the SEC this weekend, straight ahead here on Hutton Withrow.
- 43:34Speaker 1: This is Hutton Withrow presented by Hard Rock Bet. Our
- 43:38Speaker 1: power lineup, SEC power lineup, you can join us here.
- 43:42Speaker 1: You can roll with us. Bet $ 5, get 100 in
- 43:45Speaker 1: bonus bets. Hardrock.bet.com. Download now. That's Hardrock.bet.com. Check out the
- 43:51Speaker 1: lines that have dropped earlier this week. Chad, I jumped on.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Tennessee. That line moved, right? It's three and a half. Yeah,
- 44:03Speaker 2: last I checked. I'll make sure that's what it is
- 44:05Speaker 2: at Hard Rock. It has moved.
- 44:07Speaker 1: I'm going to pull it up. But yeah, I've got
- 44:08Speaker 1: the upcoming. I took Tennessee early against Texas. I know
- 44:13Speaker 1: initially I was hesitant, but I'm like, you know what?
- 44:15Speaker 1: Tennessee at home, 11 a.m., spotlight. They'll be ready to play.
- 44:20Speaker 1: And I've liked what I've seen from the freshman QB.
- 44:24Speaker 1: I took Ole Miss early. Florida's three and a half.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I'm also surprised.
- 44:29Speaker 2: By the way, Hard Rock bet it is five and
- 44:30Speaker 2: a half. We are correct. We're up to date. So
- 44:33Speaker 2: it is five and a half for Texas at Hard Rock.
- 44:37Speaker 2: So yeah, I've got Ole Miss in this.
- 44:39Speaker 1: I don't know how you feel about that matchup, but
- 44:41Speaker 1: I like Ole Miss based on what I saw from
- 44:43Speaker 1: Trinidad Chambliss.
- 44:45Speaker 2: I think this one is the stereotypical, I'm going to
- 44:50Speaker 2: go away from my gut because Vegas knows something. And
- 44:54Speaker 2: Florida's going to win this game. I believe, like you, Hutton,
- 44:57Speaker 2: of what I saw with Ole Miss and Trinidad-Chambers, they're
- 44:59Speaker 2: going to go to Gainesville and win the game. But
- 45:02Speaker 2: it feels like a trap where everyone is saying, even
- 45:06Speaker 2: John Sumrall is saying, how on earth is Ole Miss
- 45:10Speaker 2: the underdog in this game after that game on Saturday
- 45:13Speaker 2: night against Florida? So, yeah, I'm going to take the
- 45:20Speaker 2: Gators in that one. Tennessee and Texas– I'm going to
- 45:24Speaker 2: reveal what I'm picking later in the week. I want
- 45:26Speaker 2: to see where that number falls by the end of
- 45:28Speaker 2: the week. I see it being a very close game,
- 45:30Speaker 2: probably back and forth. It's going to take four quarters
- 45:33Speaker 2: to decide it. I would feel– I'll stay consistent with this.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I'd feel a lot more confident about taking the Vols
- 45:39Speaker 2: on the money line if this game was a night game.
- 45:43Speaker 1: So, yeah, I understand that. But, man, this game has
- 45:48Speaker 1: been circled for the Vols, surely. You know, Texas– I
- 45:53Speaker 1: don't think that's a game they circle as much as
- 45:56Speaker 1: Tennessee would circle this game. And Texas comes in at
- 45:59Speaker 1: number one. I like the fact that Tennessee can be
- 46:01Speaker 1: the surprise team from the jump and pull the upset.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Where that would put the trajectory, based on expectation, massive
- 46:09Speaker 1: game for the Vols. A & M coming off a loss,
- 46:12Speaker 1: LSU coming.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Off a loss.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Eight and a half seems steep, quite frankly, because of
- 46:18Speaker 1: the emotional loss versus Ole Miss, of course the underdog.
- 46:23Speaker 1: lsu favored by eight and a half i did take
- 46:25Speaker 1: the tigers though i took the tigers at home under
- 46:27Speaker 1: the lights they win under the lights at tiger stadium
- 46:32Speaker 1: i think nine and a half is way too much
- 46:35Speaker 1: yeah way too much i think that's a much closer
- 46:37Speaker 1: game than that um i mean i can't pick against
- 46:41Speaker 1: vandy right now but they just won a game in
- 46:44Speaker 1: a game they're calling the music city nightmare yeah if
- 46:47Speaker 1: you're an nc state fan oh They're 14-3 in their
- 46:50Speaker 1: last 17.
- 46:51Speaker 2: It's tough to pick against Vandy. They've got an unbelievable
- 46:54Speaker 2: streak going right now. I did say Tiger. I meant LSU.
- 46:57Speaker 1: No, I did take Vandy. I took the points with Vandy.
- 46:59Speaker 1: I'm with you on that. I don't see Auburn as
- 47:04Speaker 1: a blowout win here. Again, what does Vegas know here?
- 47:07Speaker 1: And I also took Georgia minus 13.5 against Oklahoma.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Am I crazy? No. No. You're not crazy on that.
- 47:16Speaker 2: I'm just surprised you're taking games this early in the week, Hutton.
- 47:19Speaker 2: You're at it, man. You're rolling with it. I don't
- 47:23Speaker 2: bet college football games until Friday when I see them.
- 47:26Speaker 2: So you've already got your picks in.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Chad, I was in the passenger seat, okay?
- 47:31Speaker 2: That's true. When you saw them initially drop, I got you.
- 47:35Speaker 2: You had to have something to do when I was
- 47:36Speaker 2: driving us back from Oxford. And I wanted to see
- 47:38Speaker 2: if the app would work just past the state line.
- 47:41Speaker 2: And immediately it pops on. Crazy.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Hardrock.bet.com is where you can go. Lost last night at
- 47:50Speaker 1: five bucks, whatever took the Giants and the points. But,
- 47:56Speaker 1: you know, what do you do when... Jackson Dargan's hurt again.
- 47:59Speaker 2: By the way, hell of a weekend that we just
- 48:01Speaker 2: saw in the SEC. Awesome. Just when that flashes up
- 48:05Speaker 2: there and those colors pop and you see those logos
- 48:07Speaker 2: next to each other, I get primed and pumped up
- 48:10Speaker 2: and ready for a college football weekend.
- 48:12Speaker 1: Incredible slate of games. A lot to preview. A lot
- 48:16Speaker 1: to get to later today with all the shows. The
- 48:19Speaker 1: next round coming your way right now here at sportandstate.com.
- 48:23Speaker 1: We'll catch you tomorrow morning for a new Withrow presented
- 48:26Speaker 1: by Hard Rock Vet.
