- Tre: What if the hardest part about getting healthy isn't knowing what to do? What if it's actually sticking with it? Hi y'all, Trey here for another week with the so awesome Timothy. Tim: Hooday? Jonny V.: Yeah Tre: And Johnny V. Jonny V.: How's it going everyone? Tre: The one and only. The one and only. I can't forget that. I almost did, Johnny. Are you gonna hold that against me? Jonny V.: never never Tre: Nah. Hey, if it was the other way around, I hold it against you. I'm just joking. Jonny V.: Hahaha! Tre: I'm just joking. Hey, no. I I really wanted to say thank you both for showing up for this episode because our listeners and viewers, they're also showing up. Right? Yay, thank you all for showing up. Tim: Mm-hmm. Thank you. Jonny V.: Yeah! Thank you, thank you. Tre: No, but seriously, no. we want to thank all of the viewers and the listeners out there. thank you very much for putting your faith and trust in us. Hopefully we keep it going, keep it moving. this week, we're actually going to be talking about health. Yes. We talked about wellness in the last episode. This episode, we're talking about health. And it's not really coming from a standpoint of ooh. I'm the fittest person, you know, ever. Healthy. Healthy. Jonny V.: Yeah. Tre: Okay. Tim is the healthiest one in the room right now. In his room. Jonny V.: Yep Tre: No, but really we're we're we're talking about actually being healthy and and what does that look like, you know? Tim, I I have a question for you. Have you really been doing anything recently to get healthy? Tim: Yes, I've actually been doing a multitude of different things to Tre: All right, give me one. Just give me one. Tim: Walking more. Tre: Do you like how I just stopped you right in the middle of what you're about to say? Tim: And I give you one. Tre: You did. You did. Be and and I I love the fact that you picked that one. And we're gonna circle back to why I love the reason why you picked that one. Johnny, have you been doing one thing recently where you feel like you've been healthy? Jonny V.: One thing, journaling. Tre: Ooh. Okay. Okay. You y you know, I'm actually kind of fascinated by that answer. when you say journaling, so we're talking about working out your mind, get your mind healthy, huh? I mean, w what's the what's the health benefits behind journaling? Jonny V.: it's, it's something that back when I was in the service, you said one thing, man, now you're going to make me explain the whole thing. Tre: yes, yes, because you brought up a fascinating one. I mean I already understand why Tim picked the one that he picked and he's he's showboating right now. Ooh walking more. Ooh Jonny V.: Yeah. Tre: I I freaking love it. I love it. But yours, Johnny, that's kind of unconventional like thinking for me. Like I've never thought about journaling as a way of being healthy. So so I would love for you to explain that one. Jonny V.: So this is something again, I learned this in the military. was in the military. Of course we have a bunch of health buffs. one of my Marines actually used to tell me to do it and he showed me what he does. I only go a little step further. basically he write down all what you're eating throughout the day. I'm not saying you got to log your macros and all that stuff to start off. Just log in what you're eating. because the more you put down in there, you'll start seeing, I eat gummy bears every hour on the hour or something. Tre: Is there anything wrong with her? Jonny V.: I didn't say that. didn't say that. If you're already to a healthy fit standard, sweets is not a bad fit. In my book anyways, you need sugars in your body to help you out anyways. my book, of course. Two minutes. Exactly. A Tre: Too many gummy bears might be a bad thing. Okay. Jonny V.: bag of gummy bear once an hour? Not bad. A bag of gummy bears every hour? That's pretty bad. Tre: Tim, Tim, y you have Tim: Sugar free gummy bears. Tre: Ooh, sugar free. Jonny V.: Sugar free? Sugar free is another... I don't know, it's a dangerous topic because sugar free can mean artificial sugars and that messes with your joints and all that other stuff so... It's a hidden myth. Tre: What if it's what if it's actually sweetened with dates? Jonny V.: Yes, no artificial sweetener, no artificial sweeteners and no artificial colors because artificial colors are also linked to like a lot of bad shit in your body. Tre: I wonder if they make gummy bears that are Jonny V.: Hahaha Tre: flavored with dates. Jonny V.: There's some that are flavored with not dates but like turnips, I don't I don't eat them too much they're expensive Tim: Beat beets are what they usually use for like red coloring and that. Jonny V.: Yep beats Tre: Beets, okay, not turnips, beets, right? Okay. Jonny V.: Yeah, there you go. Beats, not sure it's still. Tre: Okay. Cause when you said turnips, I'm like, I don't think that turnips are sweet but beets. Jonny V.: Yeah. Tre: And you know what? Hey, Johnny, that brings us to another point with you. How's your journey with the office going? Jonny V.: we were me and my friends were just talking about this too There is a lot on this that cannot be said today by This show could not for the life of itself could air today it Just you guys were right the first couple episodes kind of dry. I hate saying it But yes, it's funny, but I'm just like wow some of this stuff. We were talking about cancel culture a couple episodes back This stuff would not fly. Like, man. Tre: Yeah. So yeah, we were literally talking about cancel culture, you know, in season one. And that was one of the reasons why we brought up The Office. Tim, you remember that. We we talked about The Office and how some of the jokes, you know, as time just goes by, just it's not appropriate, you know. but once again, you have to look at it in the sense of comedy's sake, you know. And were they trying to marginalize one specific type of you know, person, entity, anything like that. go ahead, Tim. Tim: Well so and what's funny with that show is most of the cast were also writers and producers on there. So they actually wrote a lot of the episodes. So a lot of the stuff that you have on there, they had a say in or a part in, you know, that that script that was written or those scenes that were played out. So I think that's the one thing a lot of people, unless you, you know, really paid attention to the beginning where it showed their names as the producer or writer or whatever, most people wouldn't have, you know, picked that up. So there there's a lot of those individuals that had a a big part in a lot of the episodes, especially the ones that are the iffy ones that we've talked about today. Tre: So what episode are you on right now, Johnny? Jonny V.: probably like episode. shoot. want to say it's like episode, maybe four. I haven't gotten too far into it, but I know the Tre: Okay. Jonny V.: one, the one thing that they talked about was, that we're talking about today. he makes fun of the, God, what's his name? the black dudes health. He's like, yeah, Tre: Okay. Stanley. Tim: yeah. Jonny V.: he's like, shut up and go eat a donut or your blood sugar or something like that. Like now, now everyone would probably be like, he's fat phobic and this, this, and this. And I'm like, dude, he's, sometimes you need tough love like that. Sometimes you need to tell people exactly like that. Hey, listen here, fatty. Tre: so so once again, we're talking about wellness and health and everything like that. Jonny V.: Yeah. Tre: Cancel and cancel culture, right? But you know, I mean that show was so well done, and and I will say that Rain Wilson, I believe that's his last name is Wilson, he he's he's phenomenal. So the whole reason why I brought up the office, right, in the first place, is because we were talking about beats. Do you know? What he farms? Johnny? Jonny V.: No, no, I haven't got through yet. Tre: you know what? I'm gonna I'm gonna allow you to enjoy the ride. Cause you're only on episode four. And Jonny V.: Yeah. Tre: once it becomes apparent, then it's like, that's why Trey asked me that. So one other thing, because I think we kind of got off topic here. And and and honestly, like it I loved it. I love that little conversation right there. And we're gonna be having more conversations like that, definitely in season three, when we're talking about shows and movies. Tim: Yeah. Tre: So anybody who's listening to us, keep, keep with us. So getting back to what we're talking about today, which is you know wellness. I will I asked you guys, what do you what have you done recently for health and wellness? What I've done recently, I do juice cleanses. So I do juice cleansing at times so that I can reset my my body's gut biome and Just everything. Like it cleans out my blood and everything. 'Cause I do a lot of things that maybe some might consider to be unhealthy to my body, so every now and then I like to do that little reset. And does it make me feel good? Yes it does. Do I overdo it? I don't think so, 'cause I do it like once every two or three months or something like that. maybe three or four months, depending. on how hard or heavy that I go on other things, you know, eating unhealthy 'cause I love my pasta. I love my steak. I love my donuts. Tim: Donuts. Jonny V.: Yeah. Tre: I love I love funnel cakes. I love I love food, right? So every now and then I have to do something good for my body as well too. Jonny V.: Can actually over, you said you won't overdo the cleansing. Can you actually overdo a cleansing? Tre: Yes. I Jonny V.: Really? Tre: think so. From from what I've read is if you do it way too often, so like l say you do it like every single like two weeks or something like that. I'm pretty sure your body's not meant 'cause I'm talking about when I'm doing the juice cleanse, I'm doing a full on juice cleanse. Like that's all that I'm taking in and it's cleaning out my body and then resetting. I'm not taking in anything else f for for those first couple of days. and actually before so the company that I go through, hopefully in the future we can get sponsored. But I utilize pressed juicery and I learned about them through Costco. and before they had like this whole six or seven day juice cleanse when I first started doing the juice cleanses. Tim, you remember that, right? Tim: Mm-hmm. Tre: When when I first started getting into it. but Literally how they had it set up at that time was that was all that you were intaking. Yes, you could drink water and probably some coffee or something like that. I didn't do that like during that time. I would only be drinking those juices. And it had ha had it broken down per times and everything like that as well too. So like for w w six o'clock in the morning until seven o'clock, you're drinking this one juice. And then you take this multivitamin shot or something like that with it. And then hours eight to nine, then you're drinking another juice. And it's literally you're drinking juices all throughout the day. And each one of those juices attack certain elements inside your body. Jonny V.: Thank you. Tre: so so once again, I think that if, you know, you can probably become like deficient, and I'm not a a nutritionist or and I'm not a doctor or anything like that. just things that I've read online is that you don't want to overdo it. so I would say consult with a doctor. If it's something that you're Tim: WebMD. Jonny V.: Yeah. Tre: thinking about getting into. if you don't feel comfortable with doing your own research, definitely consult with a doctor. but yeah, no, it it works for me. the times that I do it and it makes me feel good. So I did one before me and my wife. We celebrated our anniversary recently and before we went on our trip, you know, because I knew I wasn't gonna be eating right. I I Jonny V.: Yep, yep, that's smart man. Yep. Tre: did that, right? I wanted us to be able to enjoy ourselves and stuff like that. and of course I ate in moderation, but yeah. The juice cleanse definitely helped. So that's what I've done recently. Tim, you said that you've went walking. You've done a lot more walking recently. Tim: Mm-hmm. Tre: I would love to hear a little bit more about that walking that you've been doing. Tim: So not only at home, but I've actually gotten up at work more with some coworkers every day of the week when I'm able to. And we've actually been walking multiple miles. but a part of it is a just an overall challenge to myself, but also a a bigger fitness challenge that we've been kind of partaking in. And it's actually helped out in conjunction with other lifestyle changes. But I mean I felt amazing and realizing how quickly I accumulated these miles you know, each week is once again, I mean, you feel great about it because you don't even realize it until after the fact you get a notification. You're like, man, I've walked 40 miles this week. And you get a A nice little Tre: no no no no no no, we're not gonna show that off just yet. Tim: No, say you get a nice little feeling of you know that that self that Jonny V.: Yeah Tim: proudness. Tre: I love the I love Jonny V.: A little bit confident. Tre: I love that. I love that. So so that that that that confidence that you're feeling. Johnny, Tim: Yeah. Tre: Tim, I mean myself, I I'm I'm a part of this as well too. But Johnny, you said something earlier before we started recording, is that you didn't realize because we're doing this challenge now, and and you didn't realize how much walking that you were doing even at work. Jonny V.: Yeah, at work or on a daily basis, it's kind of crazy Tre: Yes. Jonny V.: not knowing that, sometimes you are walking a lot more than you think. now, especially now when I'm at home, I'm like, you know what, maybe I do need to get up a little bit more on these days. They're my downtime, but still, a little bit walking here and there helps out a lot. Tre: Now, are you putting that into your journal though? Jonny V.: no, not necessarily. Cause the, unless, Tre: It's only the food and the macros. Jonny V.: unless it's exactly my intention to get up and walk. like I'll walk my dogs. If that's the intention, yes, I'll put that in there, but walking around the house and getting little things done here and there, I don't track that as part of my journey. It'll it's only what I do Tre: Okay. Jonny V.: with intention. Tre: With true intent. Wow. So Jonny V.: Mm-hmm. Tre: you weren't with us on the last episode, Johnny, and we missed you. Jonny V.: Unfortunately, yeah. Tre: I I had to give Tim a couple of air hugs a couple of times Jonny V.: No. Tre: because I saw the tears starting to roll down his eye. But no, that was actually one of the things that Devonet with move meditations that she brought up. was the fact of doing things with intent, you know, and focusing on, you know, the the intentionality behind whatever you're doing. So, it's kinda cool to hear you even echo that and you weren't even here for that. I love it. I love it. So there it is. yes, I had to get that one in. There it is. Jonny V.: You Tre: No, so really the Conqueror Challenge, that is something that we're all a part of. And I'm glad to hear, Tim, that you're definitely benefiting from it. Johnny, I'm really glad that you're been benefiting from it as well too. You're seeing the progress in your day-to-day life and everything, as well. And of course I'm seeing it as well. And we're gonna talk more about the Conqueror Challenge in the full episode. and you know what? No. No, you know what? Let me bring it back a little bit. And I want everyone to hear about this Conqueror Challenge. And I do want them to see what Tim wants to show off. About the Conqueror Challenge because you know what? Tim, you've earned it, right? What did you earn, man? Tim: So this is the first one that we did. We chose the Arc Reactor. So it's the Avengers themed one. And inside it actually has a a little note in there congratulating you for completing it. This one was, I believe, 82 miles for the distance. And inside of the box was this nice little metal. Which if you take it out has the arc reactor on it. It's got a little and then you can actually open this up from the front. And it pops open with that and that and there is the portion which has one of the infinity stones there and Jonny V.: that's sick. Tim: This little on a point there, yes. So it is it was great getting that. And when it came, I once again you feel that accomplishment. You're like, okay, well here's a physical because they'll give you a digital certificate saying you completed it, but getting a physical thing to kind of hold in your hands as well was a whole nother feeling. Tre: Yes. It it's that it's that tangible, like you say, that that physical item in itself. You didn't just get a participation trophy, right? You actually got a medal for completing something. You s had a true intention to complete something and you did it. Now, I do want to point out when we're talking about the Conqueror Challenge, this is a virtual challenge that anyone can do from anywhere around the world. I don't know exactly where they ship to. we're here in the United States. So they definitely ship here to us. but this virtual challenge that we decided to go down this journey with was the Avengers challenge, which he he just showed off the first one that we decided to do. There's a total of six there's a total of six challenges. So you have the arc reactor, which is surrounded by Tony Stark and Iron Man, and then you have my gosh, the first soldier, I think it's called. No, Tim: Winter soldier. Tre: no, no, no, no, not the winter soldier. The winter soldier is somebody completely different. That is Bucky Barnes. So when you've been saying that, the winter soldier, I've been like, nope. so I want to say it's like the first Avenger or or It's something soldier, but it's not the winter soldier. So you have that one, it's Captain America, themed. Tim: Super soldier. Tre: Super soldier. There it is. So then you have the super soldier. you have Hulk as well too. can't remember what that one's called. you have the Wakanda Wakandans, Black Panther, and then you have the Scarlet Witch as well too. Now all five of those, once you collect all of those, you also have the Infinity saga, I think it is, right? Is that the name of it? It's the one with the gauntlet. Tim: Yes. Tre: And once you pass that, all of the individual gems, the infinity stones themselves go inside of the gauntlet. And I thought this was a really sweet thing for all of us to participate and do, because then we could motivate one another to kind of get healthy. I would implore anyone that's out there to If you're interested and you want to get together with some friends or anything like that, they have all other types of virtual challenges as well. They have all different types. I'd say go to the virtual challenges, the Conqueror Tim: Yeah. Tre: Challenges, and just look at their plethora of different ones that they have. They have things that are not even movie or TV show related as well too. So if you just like the metal from Tokyo or Berlin or anything like that as well too. They have tons of different virtual challenges that you can do. Alright. So I just wanted to say, Tim, congratulations on getting your first medal in the mail. You're waiting on your second one, correct? Tim: It should be here any day. Tre: Cause you completed a whole other one. Jonny V.: That's quick! Tre: Yes. And he's Yes. Tim: I did. I'm actually on the third one. Jonny V.: okay. Tre: And he is actually on his third one now. So I've actually completed my first one finally as well too. My medal is in the mail. I should be getting that. I believe they said on Thursday, which is just tomorrow. or whenever, you know, in the past when you guys see it. See this video. Jonny V.: Thank Tre: I love recording in the past. For the future. Anyway. and Johnny, I know that you're waiting on your medal to come in the mail as well too. You're on your second one. Are you doing your second one yet? Perfect. But soon. Jonny V.: Yes, not yet. But I'll be starting on the second one then. Tre: Okay. Great. And yeah, I'm in my second one right now. It's been a little bit slower for me because you know what? I'm always in front of a computer. And I love it. I love it. But no, that's no excuse. Whatever we want in life, we have to just try to obtain it. And you know what? I'm going to keep obtaining these medals because I want them all. If anybody knows me, they know that I'm a huge comic book nerd. Yes. Ha, Tim: Yes. Tre: nerd. That's me. Jonny V.: Nerd! Tre: But anyway, so on that note, I definitely want to say to all the listeners and viewers out there, we hope to see you on the other side. For the full package. And if you found that this episode has been beneficial for you, to maybe to motivate you with wellness or anything like that and fitness and health, please share it with others who you think may be able to benefit as well. And until next time, remember to keep learning, keep growing, and keep living. Bye y'all.
