- 0:00Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 0:03Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 0:07Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 0:11Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 0:23Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 0:28Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 0:31Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 0:35Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly
- 0:39Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 0:43Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 0:46Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 0:55Speaker 1: border and families will be protected.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 1:00Speaker 3: For the culture, our guy.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Anyone who says for the culture is a scam artist.
- 1:07Speaker 3: For shot.
- 1:09Speaker 5: Somebody that we spoke about, and it's somebody that we
- 1:12Speaker 5: had the honor of interviewing legendary episode if you haven't
- 1:16Speaker 5: checked it out, this is an important financial topic. Deon
- 1:21Speaker 5: Sanders has taken a job at Colorado University. People are
- 1:30Speaker 5: very passionate about this topic, but like I said, it's
- 1:33Speaker 5: bigger than sports. It is a financial topic on a
- 1:37Speaker 5: variety of different levels. He left Jackson State University shout
- 1:41Speaker 5: out at Jackson State swack Champions undefeated to become the
- 1:46Speaker 5: new head coach of Colorado University Boulders. They had a
- 1:52Speaker 5: record of one and eleven last year. They are in
- 1:55Speaker 5: the peck twelve. Me and Troy were actually debating this
- 1:59Speaker 5: yesterday ocassionately. Let's get into this conversation. D On Sanders,
- 2:09Speaker 5: what are your thoughts on this?
- 2:13Speaker 6: Initial thoughts?
- 2:14Speaker 7: Great move, he's you know, he set a trend by
- 2:18Speaker 7: going to HBCU's and making it relevant to celebrate what
- 2:23Speaker 7: coaching could look like when you add a social aspect
- 2:26Speaker 7: to it, when you add flair to it, when you
- 2:28Speaker 7: add swag to it.
- 2:29Speaker 6: He did all those things.
- 2:30Speaker 7: He set out to change the lives of young men
- 2:33Speaker 7: and young student athletes.
- 2:34Speaker 6: He's done that.
- 2:35Speaker 7: Not only did he do it, but he involved his
- 2:38Speaker 7: family right and so he had his daughter working there.
- 2:40Speaker 7: He had his two sons playing, he had the number
- 2:43Speaker 7: one recruit in the country come to the school. All
- 2:45Speaker 7: these things brought attention, brought attention, but even more so,
- 2:49Speaker 7: it brought capital.
- 2:50Speaker 6: And it was one of the things that we spoke
- 2:51Speaker 6: about with him.
- 2:52Speaker 7: We were in Jackson, Mississippi, and we saw the conditions
- 2:55Speaker 7: that his student athletes were preparing to play in and
- 2:59Speaker 7: a lot of them living. And we saw the revenue
- 3:02Speaker 7: for Jackson go up by thirty percent. A lot of
- 3:05Speaker 7: it was attributed to what was going on with the
- 3:07Speaker 7: football team.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Then how much is he getting paid.
- 3:09Speaker 4: I'm going to cut you off, but how much was
- 3:11Speaker 4: he earning per year?
- 3:12Speaker 3: I think like three hundred thousands?
- 3:14Speaker 7: It was minimal, right, it was in the mid hundred thousands, right,
- 3:20Speaker 7: game seven, So I mean he did three seasons, he
- 3:24Speaker 7: went to a bowl game. Last season they were ten
- 3:26Speaker 7: and two. This year they are eleven or zero, and
- 3:28Speaker 7: obviously will be in some type of bowl game this year.
- 3:31Speaker 7: And it's about expansion, right. He never said that he
- 3:35Speaker 7: was going to be there for fifty years. He never
- 3:37Speaker 7: said he was going to be there for ten years.
- 3:39Speaker 7: He said he wants to impact as many young men's
- 3:41Speaker 7: lives as possible. Has he done that?
- 3:43Speaker 6: Yes?
- 3:44Speaker 7: Has he brought awareness to HPCU football and sports and
- 3:47Speaker 7: student athletics. Absolutely. What needs to happen to that now,
- 3:52Speaker 7: in my opinion, is now that the trend has been set,
- 3:56Speaker 7: who files in the league?
- 3:58Speaker 6: Right?
- 3:58Speaker 7: You still have prominent football coaches and basketball coaches and
- 4:03Speaker 7: I mean professors that are still at these universities and schools.
- 4:07Speaker 6: Eddie George being one who's in his conference.
- 4:10Speaker 7: I know ray Lewis is another athlete who is a
- 4:13Speaker 7: prop I mean Hall of Fame talent that can do
- 4:15Speaker 7: the same now.
- 4:16Speaker 3: That ray Lewis, Yeah, what did he do?
- 4:18Speaker 6: No, he's a whole. He's trying to get into coaching.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Ray Lewis trying to become a coach, and he're.
- 4:22Speaker 7: Trying to into coaching, and so somebody needs to He's
- 4:25Speaker 7: lit the torch. Now who carries the torch?
- 4:27Speaker 6: Right?
- 4:27Speaker 7: Because now Dion gets to do it at another level.
- 4:29Speaker 7: PAC twelve is a powerfil conference. The facilities are unmatched.
- 4:34Speaker 7: It's not even comparable to where he was at. And
- 4:37Speaker 7: if you looked at the press conference today, he said, listen,
- 4:41Speaker 7: not only am I coming here, I'm bringing my luggage
- 4:44Speaker 7: with me. Right, I'm not hiding that I'm a black man,
- 4:47Speaker 7: that's obvious. I'm not leaving a black culture. I'm bringing
- 4:50Speaker 7: my luggage with me. He's bringing his sun with him,
- 4:53Speaker 7: he's bringing some of his staff with him, he's bringing
- 4:55Speaker 7: a swag, and he's going to bring his expertise. So
- 5:00Speaker 7: it's a win for Dion and his family. It's a
- 5:03Speaker 7: win for college sports because, I mean, what we watching
- 5:07Speaker 7: HBCU football prior to this. I'm a diehard sports fan.
- 5:10Speaker 7: I wasn't, but anytime they came on ESPN two, I
- 5:13Speaker 7: was watching. I'm on Instagram, I'm watching. I want to
- 5:16Speaker 7: see what's happening with Jackson State football. So I'm happy
- 5:19Speaker 7: for him. I know some people in Mississippi probably won't be,
- 5:22Speaker 7: and through old hpcu's probably won't be.
- 5:25Speaker 6: But that's okay, that's okay.
- 5:26Speaker 7: It's now somebody else's turn to pick up the torch
- 5:29Speaker 7: and bring as much as attention to the sport into
- 5:31Speaker 7: these schools, and hopefully some of the alumni from these
- 5:34Speaker 7: schools will come back and look and say, look, he
- 5:37Speaker 7: can do that for their.
- 5:37Speaker 6: School, who's going to do it for ours? And what
- 5:39Speaker 6: are we doing for ours?
- 5:40Speaker 7: Because a lot of prominent people that have graduated from
- 5:43Speaker 7: Historiki Black Colleges. They need you all to come back,
- 5:47Speaker 7: and he said it on the episode, we need you
- 5:49Speaker 7: to come back, need you all to help because it
- 5:52Speaker 7: is in dire need of help.
- 5:55Speaker 6: So it's one story, but it shouldn't be the only.
- 5:59Speaker 3: What is it earning now? As a person who lived
- 6:02Speaker 3: in Colorado?
- 6:03Speaker 6: Beautiful?
- 6:04Speaker 3: Pandis you got thirty million dollar contract for five years?
- 6:07Speaker 6: I think, and that's still UNDERPI.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, thirty million for five years.
- 6:13Speaker 7: Ni Nick Saban makes twelve million dollars a year at Alabama.
- 6:17Speaker 7: Dabbosweeney makes eleven million dollars at Clemson.
- 6:22Speaker 8: Like, so this is an investment show, so let's just
- 6:26Speaker 8: talk brass tax around numbers. That is a hundred x
- 6:31Speaker 8: return on investment. So what if Jackson State would have
- 6:37Speaker 8: gave him half of all increases on gross revenue or
- 6:42Speaker 8: concessions or jerseys or this is the deal part that
- 6:46Speaker 8: we don't talk about now. I was talking about this, Pierre.
- 6:49Speaker 8: I think a lot of the pushback was the university.
- 6:52Speaker 8: This episode is brought to you by P and C Bank.
- 6:55Speaker 8: A lot of people think podcasts about work are boring,
- 6:58Speaker 8: and sure they definitely can be, but understanding a professionals
- 7:02Speaker 8: routine shows us how they achieve their success, little by little,
- 7:05Speaker 8: day after day.
- 7:07Speaker 6: It's like banking with P and C Bank.
- 7:09Speaker 7: It might seem boring to safe plan and make calculated
- 7:12Speaker 7: decisions with your bank, but keeping your money boring is
- 7:15Speaker 7: what helps you live or more happily fulfilled life. P
- 7:19Speaker 7: and C Bank Brilliantly Boring since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly

- 8:42Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 8:46Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 8:50Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 8:54Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 8:58Speaker 1: some of the heinous my criminals caught because of President
- 9:02Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United States
- 9:06Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 9:10Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 9:14Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 9:17Speaker 1: were here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly

- 9:33Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump America's laws,
- 9:38Speaker 1: border and families.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Will be protected sponsored by the United States Department of
- 9:42Speaker 2: Homeland Security.
- 9:42Speaker 4: So it was like the Ohio, Ohio state, are you perdue?
- 9:47Speaker 8: Pinned?
- 9:48Speaker 4: People could have understood it. You see, Boulder needs a
- 9:52Speaker 4: lot of work in terms of the team.
- 9:55Speaker 8: But when you're looking at one hundred extra term, so
- 9:57Speaker 8: I want everyone to put in chat not to re number,
- 10:00Speaker 8: but what is one hundred ax your salary?
- 10:02Speaker 4: And would you not leave where you're working now to
- 10:05Speaker 4: go somewhere else.
- 10:06Speaker 8: I think one of the number two the biggest issues
- 10:08Speaker 8: people may have had was a succession plan. So it's
- 10:11Speaker 8: great that he's taking the sun and love that he
- 10:12Speaker 8: has to do his best rid for him, but I
- 10:15Speaker 8: think one of the issues was for those that are
- 10:18Speaker 8: in Mississippi, like, hey, what do we do about who
- 10:21Speaker 8: will be next? So the succession although we can argue
- 10:24Speaker 8: that's really not up to him and if he wasn't
- 10:27Speaker 8: getting the resources that he needed, sometimes you have to
- 10:29Speaker 8: make an offer so irresistible that a person will not
- 10:31Speaker 8: leave you and Jess, you did not do that. We
- 10:36Speaker 8: also have to have the conversation is do we want
- 10:38Speaker 8: a limitation on the success of the people that are
- 10:42Speaker 8: in our space or not. I still don't think UC
- 10:45Speaker 8: voter was probably the best fit. Ultimately, I think he
- 10:48Speaker 8: should do two more terms at two different schools and
- 10:50Speaker 8: push really hard to be the coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
- 10:55Speaker 8: Be a hell of a story, hell of a press
- 10:57Speaker 8: Ryan for all you Cowboys fans. Better than the coach
- 11:00Speaker 8: y'all have now actually played the game at a high level.
- 11:05Speaker 8: Actually is a big draw, right, So when you go
- 11:10Speaker 8: to celebrity CEO celebrity coaches, they do bring a certain
- 11:14Speaker 8: value to the table.
- 11:15Speaker 4: I think the biggest issue is that it felt like
- 11:17Speaker 4: he left us to go to Colorado.
- 11:22Speaker 8: But it's really hard to argue with one hundred extra
- 11:24Speaker 8: turn if people were not supporting going to the games,
- 11:27Speaker 8: buying jerseys. Because that's why I say it's one thing
- 11:29Speaker 8: to support online in Instagram, that's not a real metric.
- 11:35Speaker 8: Support is actually showing up. Shout out to everybody in
- 11:37Speaker 8: New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Arizona, LA who showed up
- 11:41Speaker 8: to Madison Square. I appreciate you, but we have to
- 11:47Speaker 8: do a better job about having a strategic plan around
- 11:49Speaker 8: how we support our entrepreneurs, because if we're.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Going to be honest, if we think if Meta is falling.
- 11:55Speaker 8: Apart with the powerhouse of Instagram and the other powerhouse
- 12:00Speaker 8: of WhatsApp, and they owed him, you think likes and
- 12:06Speaker 8: reshares and reposting the stories is actually moving the needle.
- 12:10Speaker 8: It's a vanity metric that does not matter, that won't
- 12:12Speaker 8: even save the company that made it. I'm happy for Dionne.
- 12:16Speaker 8: I think he could have picked a better school. But
- 12:18Speaker 8: if I get a hundred cks, should I too? I
- 12:22Speaker 8: go and vesentrate for it for uc Bolla too. They
- 12:24Speaker 8: give me a hundred x what I'm making right now
- 12:26Speaker 8: and I'm straight, so I'm not mad at it. But
- 12:29Speaker 8: he was underpaid then and now.
- 12:33Speaker 7: I got one issue with it, but I would let
- 12:35Speaker 7: Shoty go and I'll say my only issue with it,
- 12:37Speaker 7: my only issue.
- 12:38Speaker 2: But I.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Want to be thoughtful in speaking about this because beyond
- 12:48Speaker 5: Sanders is a he's a good guy.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 12:52Speaker 5: We we had the honor of connecting with him, interviewed him.
- 12:57Speaker 5: He's very gracious with his time, good dude, And I
- 13:03Speaker 5: respect the move because nobody, nobody, nobody's tied to anything forever.
- 13:12Speaker 5: But I also am sympathetic for the plight of HBCUs.
- 13:20Speaker 5: I can understand the disappointment because it was sold on
- 13:28Speaker 5: a culture. That's how it was kind of packaged, like,
- 13:32Speaker 5: you know, like this is for the culture. This is
- 13:33Speaker 5: the culture swacked, this is the culture. If it's just
- 13:36Speaker 5: a job, then it's just it's just a job. But
- 13:39Speaker 5: when it's sold as something more than a job, like
- 13:42Speaker 5: when you're working in Colorado, you know, it's just a job.
- 13:45Speaker 5: But when you're working at HBCU and you're selling it
- 13:48Speaker 5: as an HBCU and this is going to be an
- 13:51Speaker 5: opportunity for young athletes to come and you know, be
- 13:54Speaker 5: with their own people, and you know, and that's kind
- 13:57Speaker 5: of how it's packaged. Whether he did it or whether
- 14:00Speaker 5: done like, that's just that's kind of how it was packaged.
- 14:03Speaker 5: So it becomes more than just a job. It's kind
- 14:06Speaker 5: of like, you know, a mission. And it's not to
- 14:09Speaker 5: say that he even signed up for it, but that's
- 14:12Speaker 5: kind of what it ended up being, where he kind
- 14:15Speaker 5: of had the flag for HBCUs. He's the most notable
- 14:18Speaker 5: coach in sports right now, and he's he's holding a
- 14:21Speaker 5: flag for every HBCU. So it's definitely demoralizing when you
- 14:30Speaker 5: finally get recognition, you finally start winning, you finally get
- 14:35Speaker 5: you know, athletes and entertainers, and everybody's coming and everybody's championing,
- 14:40Speaker 5: and Ernie Lee is doing interviews and Gillian Wallo's coming
- 14:44Speaker 5: every other week in sixty minutes and you know, good
- 14:46Speaker 5: morning America, and you're getting all this national attention and
- 14:49Speaker 5: it's like, you know, okay, we finally made it.
- 14:54Speaker 3: And then it's over.
- 14:55Speaker 5: So, like I said, I don't blame Dion because you know,
- 14:59Speaker 5: he is who he is and he's gonna be, you know,
- 15:02Speaker 5: one of the best coaches in the country, and I
- 15:04Speaker 5: respect that.
- 15:05Speaker 3: But like I said, I could also.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Understand the disappointment in the HBCU community. My graduates from
- 15:16Speaker 5: my school being Forbes backdrop bag Drop, Mike drop Backdrop.
- 15:33Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
