- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hello, Big Believe Nation, Welcome to Justin Catz. My name
- 0:17Speaker 2: is Michael Bennett. On this Monday, May eleventh. I hope
- 0:21Speaker 2: everybody had a great weekend. As you know, we're going
- 0:24Speaker 2: to take a couple hours and talk about our weekend.
- 0:28Speaker 2: You let me know how your weekend was, and most
- 0:30Speaker 2: of all, let me know how your mother's day was
- 0:33Speaker 2: as well. I hope you spent it with your mom
- 0:35Speaker 2: or moms. I hope you had a really nice one.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Are we doing something wrong? Oh oh, oh my goodness,
- 0:42Speaker 2: we had to fix that. Oh yes, if you are
- 0:46Speaker 2: on YouTube, the camera has been fixed. Thank goodness, thank
- 0:52Speaker 2: you there. Justin man, you are a man on top
- 0:54Speaker 2: of everything. I can't believe you let that happen, but
- 0:59Speaker 2: you were on top of it. All of a sudden,
- 1:00Speaker 2: you get out of your chair, take your sticking headphones off,
- 1:03Speaker 2: and run out of the building. And I'm like, where
- 1:05Speaker 2: are you going? And you're only fixing the camera for YouTube?
- 1:08Speaker 2: It was it was It looks like it's pointing towards
- 1:12Speaker 2: the wall right now.
- 1:13Speaker 3: No, it's pointing exactly where it needs. I mean, you'd
- 1:15Speaker 3: probably go towards the wall towards the other. Yeah, there
- 1:19Speaker 3: you go. That's probably better. See, that's that's it right there.
- 1:22Speaker 3: So if you're on YouTube, you can join us. I
- 1:24Speaker 3: was gonna ask you to do that, but I didn't
- 1:26Speaker 3: want to do that on air producer. No, it's okay. Listen,
- 1:29Speaker 3: this show is so relaxed. You know, I will never
- 1:32Speaker 3: get upset with you, and I haven't yet. You're right exactly.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I mean I used to get really worked up at
- 1:41Speaker 2: at you know, the other station, but here I it's
- 1:44Speaker 2: so relaxed. It's no way I could get I'd never
- 1:46Speaker 2: got upset with Shannon. But you know, there was always
- 1:49Speaker 2: technical issues at the other station. Always Here, we've had
- 1:52Speaker 2: it one time and that's been it, which is crazy.
- 1:55Speaker 3: It is crazy. I'm not kidding.
- 1:57Speaker 2: At the other place, they had technical issues weekly. It
- 2:02Speaker 2: was I mean, it was just so frustrating. But yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 2: if you're on YouTube, you can go search big X
- 2:07Speaker 2: Sports Radio Louisville and you'll get to see me having
- 2:10Speaker 2: problems with the contact right now. So I'm at the end.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You know, I wear my contacts a little too long. Wait,
- 2:16Speaker 2: you're wearing glasses, I know, Well that's the Yeah, that's
- 2:19Speaker 2: my readers. So wait, hold on, Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 3: So you have contacts under your readers. I do. Yeah, yep,
- 2:28Speaker 3: all right, you want to make fun of me a
- 2:29Speaker 3: little more. It's Monday. I was in a good mood
- 2:31Speaker 3: to this conversation. This is not me making fun of you.
- 2:34Speaker 3: This is my young brain trying to wrap my head.
- 2:38Speaker 3: It's kind of happens to my eyes. It's coming. You
- 2:40Speaker 3: just watch out, it's coming. Everything I used to make
- 2:42Speaker 3: fun of my dad is now happening to me. I
- 2:45Speaker 3: didn't realize that if you had contacts, you still needed readers.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure I can get those funky contacts that
- 2:52Speaker 2: if you look down then all of a sudden you
- 2:54Speaker 2: you get the magnifying part of it.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I make contacts like that.
- 2:59Speaker 2: I think, think so, I think what the optometists talk
- 3:03Speaker 2: to me about it. One time's like, no, that's too funky,
- 3:05Speaker 2: that's insane. Yeah, but no, I'm not interested in that
- 3:09Speaker 2: kind of stuff. I just want some normal context. And now,
- 3:11Speaker 2: I cause I'm so cheap, I wear them like a
- 3:15Speaker 2: month or two longer than you're really supposed to. Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 2: I spread them out to a they're supposed to be
- 3:21Speaker 2: for six months I think I spread them out to
- 3:23Speaker 2: a year and now at least you wear them.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I wear them. Yeah, why wouldn't I wear them? I
- 3:27Speaker 3: mean I never did. Really, I got contacts when I
- 3:30Speaker 3: think I was sixteen. Well I think I wore them
- 3:33Speaker 3: for like three days and I was like, yeah, I'm
- 3:34Speaker 3: done with this. Really, I'm warm. Sense interesting?
- 3:37Speaker 2: Okay, Well I don't really need the readers, but I
- 3:40Speaker 2: kind of got addicted to them and I kind of
- 3:42Speaker 2: like them, so I just use them. So I don't know,
- 3:44Speaker 2: I just I just do. But anyway, do you have
- 3:47Speaker 2: a good Mother's Day with your mom?
- 3:50Speaker 4: Uh?
- 3:50Speaker 3: Yeah? So we hung out a little bit on Saturday.
- 3:54Speaker 3: This is a great weekend, great great Mother's Day weekend.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Got to see a lot of important moms in my life.
- 3:59Speaker 2: So yeah, wait, wait, wait wait important moms in your life?
- 4:03Speaker 2: There's multiple ones.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Yeah, like my dad's wife, my step mom she's mom
- 4:08Speaker 3: of my life, my sister, one of my aunts who's
- 4:11Speaker 3: an important mom in my life. I mean, your sister
- 4:14Speaker 3: is an important mom in your life? Yeah, I mean
- 4:16Speaker 3: I consider anybody that's a mom, I consider them and
- 4:19Speaker 3: they're an important part of my life. Then yeah, they
- 4:21Speaker 3: might not be my mom, but That doesn't mean I
- 4:25Speaker 3: disrespect them or respect them less because they're not fair enough.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I mean they're still great motherly figures.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I kind of felt sorry for my niece yesterday, Ashley.
- 4:35Speaker 2: It was her birthday and she is a mom. Do
- 4:38Speaker 2: you think you kind of get the shaft when your
- 4:41Speaker 2: birthday falls on this? It's kind of like those poor
- 4:44Speaker 2: people that have birthdays. My dad's one of his closest friends.
- 4:48Speaker 2: His birthday was on Christmas Day, and I always felt
- 4:52Speaker 2: sorry for his name's Jimmy. I always felt sorry for
- 4:55Speaker 2: Jimmy because it seemed like he got the shaft all
- 4:59Speaker 2: his life.
- 5:00Speaker 3: How do you feel about that? So this is going
- 5:03Speaker 3: to sound crazy, but I was always one of those
- 5:05Speaker 3: kids growing up. Once I reached a certain age maybe
- 5:08Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe like twelve thirteen, right, I just
- 5:11Speaker 3: never really cared about gifts. So really, that would be
- 5:14Speaker 3: one of those things where I would actually probably enjoy that,
- 5:17Speaker 3: because as it stands now, as a thirty six year old,
- 5:21Speaker 3: I get entirely too many presents for Christmas and my
- 5:24Speaker 3: birthday and all that I don't need nearly as much
- 5:27Speaker 3: as I get. So if I can teach the purpose
- 5:29Speaker 3: of the question, I just asked that you're not letting
- 5:31Speaker 3: me get to it. Let me fairnish, let me fairnessh
- 5:34Speaker 3: And know you always say, but if I combine this,
- 5:37Speaker 3: I don't say it that way. If I combine the two,
- 5:40Speaker 3: I'm gonna still get presents, but I'll get less. And
- 5:43Speaker 3: I think I would like that, Oh, you would see.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I love getting presents, but I think equally as much.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Which is kind of crazy, is that I love giving
- 5:52Speaker 2: presents more than I like getting presents. When I buy
- 5:58Speaker 2: is somebody in my family something, my wife something, I
- 6:01Speaker 2: cannot wait to give it to her. And there are
- 6:04Speaker 2: times like okay, let's just open him now, and she's like, no,
- 6:07Speaker 2: it's not my birthday, it's not Christmas. No, you can't
- 6:10Speaker 2: do that. I literally cannot wait because I I don't
- 6:14Speaker 2: know some days. Some days I'm good at and the
- 6:16Speaker 2: other days I'm really bad at it. I don't know
- 6:18Speaker 2: if you will.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Oh, if you don't give it right away, maybe you'll
- 6:20Speaker 3: lose it.
- 6:22Speaker 2: That's another concern, kind of like Christmas vacation, when Chevy
- 6:25Speaker 2: Chase is stuck up in the attic and finds Christmas
- 6:28Speaker 2: or whatever Valentine's or something from years earlier. Yeah, I
- 6:32Speaker 2: do worry about that. That has happened in my family,
- 6:34Speaker 2: by the way, where we have lost presents. We found
- 6:38Speaker 2: him later, but not in time. That is so frustrating.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Or they still of use when you did find them.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But we we just went ahead and gave it to
- 6:48Speaker 2: him anyway, on no particular day, so yeah, that's kind
- 6:51Speaker 2: of a crappy way to do it. But yeah, I mean, yes,
- 6:55Speaker 2: we went to a big buffet yesterday, so that was
- 6:57Speaker 2: fun eight way too much?
- 7:00Speaker 3: Was it? Patricia's choice?
- 7:02Speaker 2: Uh knows my son's. But she enjoyed it. He made
- 7:06Speaker 2: the reservation.
- 7:07Speaker 3: He didn't give her the choice.
- 7:09Speaker 2: No, he made he went out and made the rais
- 7:12Speaker 2: of reservation so she doesn't have to make the choice.
- 7:15Speaker 2: What do you think about that? She loves it. Okay, yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 2: if she didn't have to pick it, she's in a
- 7:19Speaker 2: good mood.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Okay.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's kind of how we all are. We're always
- 7:23Speaker 2: like I don't want to pick this time you pick.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Nobody wants to pick in my family where we're gonna
- 7:27Speaker 2: want a week? Yeah, so no, with Max making the
- 7:32Speaker 2: reservation and uh no, it made her very happy and
- 7:36Speaker 2: she was happy where we went because food was really good.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Was uh Max's girlfriend there? No, she's in Hawaii and
- 7:43Speaker 3: where Hawaii? What? Yeah, Lucky Gal. Yeah, her sister's getting married.
- 7:48Speaker 3: That's incredible.
- 7:49Speaker 2: And they're picking the venue there because they said it's
- 7:52Speaker 2: cheaper to have a wedding in Hawaii than it is
- 7:55Speaker 2: in Louisville, Kentucky. Now here's my argument on that. Not
- 8:00Speaker 2: but okay, no it is.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I mean I believe that from a venue perspective, but
- 8:05Speaker 3: all the costs that it takes to get there, well,
- 8:07Speaker 3: not so much.
- 8:08Speaker 2: All the costs of the people going there. It's kind
- 8:11Speaker 2: of like the Larry David episode and a Curb Your Enthusiasm.
- 8:16Speaker 2: He went on a destination wedding and he said, my
- 8:20Speaker 2: gift to you is attending and he is so right, listen,
- 8:24Speaker 2: as much as it will cost to travel all the
- 8:27Speaker 2: way there, my attendance is your gift exactly. I'm not
- 8:32Speaker 2: going to give you anything else. That's where I I
- 8:34Speaker 2: love Larry David.
- 8:35Speaker 3: I find a nice seashell or something off the beach,
- 8:38Speaker 3: well right, right, go get something off the beach. Go
- 8:41Speaker 3: find something for you.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Find a little flower and clip it off or steal
- 8:44Speaker 2: one from the BOOKI in the lobby and hand it
- 8:47Speaker 2: to him there. That is my gift to you. You're
- 8:49Speaker 2: welcome because I had to pay four thousand dollars to
- 8:52Speaker 2: get to the stinking plates for you.
- 8:55Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but I listen. Larry David speaks for every out there.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I just want you to know that. Hell so, because
- 9:05Speaker 2: he says what everybody thinks. He verbalizes it where most
- 9:09Speaker 2: of us don't verbalize it. Now, because you know, when
- 9:12Speaker 2: I'm kidding, a lot of truth does come out, like
- 9:17Speaker 2: oh yeah, well, like I'll tease people. I did it
- 9:20Speaker 2: over the weekend. I tease the lady that just literally
- 9:22Speaker 2: jumped in line when I was trying to get into
- 9:25Speaker 2: this place. I said, what are you doing? You're jumping
- 9:26Speaker 2: the line, get out of my way, And then I
- 9:28Speaker 2: smiled and said, it's okay, you stay right there. Yeah,
- 9:34Speaker 2: aggressive exactly, But nobody notices it.
- 9:37Speaker 3: I mean, they just have fun. I'll just tease with him.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Then I'll feel bad.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Then I'll want to have a conversation with him and
- 9:42Speaker 2: try to make up with them, even though they don't
- 9:44Speaker 2: know I'm trying to make up.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Is that terrible? Well, Hey, I'm curious, why why no
- 9:49Speaker 3: show in front of it. Oh here, you know why.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I want to know why you didn't want to tell anybody,
- 9:56Speaker 3: because honestly, yes, and this is not me trying to
- 10:00Speaker 3: be mean to you at all. All Right, that was
- 10:03Speaker 3: the worst excuse not doing a radio show I've ever
- 10:07Speaker 3: heard in my entire life. But was I honest you?
- 10:10Speaker 2: I could have completely lied, but I'm not gonna do that.
- 10:13Speaker 3: You were honest. Here's the problem I had. Okay, I'm ready.
- 10:17Speaker 3: You would have known about this on Thursday night.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Right, that is correct. You are true, That is true.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I was trying to find somebody to fill in for
- 10:25Speaker 2: me Thursday night.
- 10:25Speaker 3: So when I get here at ye six fifteen or
- 10:28Speaker 3: whatever and I get that text from you, the first
- 10:32Speaker 3: thing that goes through my head is, well, damn it, Michael,
- 10:34Speaker 3: I would have just taken off too, And I can still.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. I didn't think it from it that said.
- 10:41Speaker 2: So then when I'm so sorry.
- 10:42Speaker 3: When I get your reasoning, I'm like, wait, what, that's
- 10:47Speaker 3: why we're not doing a show. Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Part of me was thinking, I'm I still might do it,
- 10:52Speaker 2: and then when I woke up Friday morning, it's like, no,
- 10:54Speaker 2: I really need to be out there. So what happened
- 10:56Speaker 2: is one of the brand new horses had his first
- 11:00Speaker 2: breeze on Friday morning.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Do you hear that, folks? Michael Bennett didn't do a
- 11:04Speaker 3: show because he had a horse taking a jog.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Yes, exactly, well a little more than a jog. It's
- 11:08Speaker 2: not a jog, it's a breeze and it was his
- 11:12Speaker 2: first one and I wanted to see it. So he
- 11:14Speaker 2: was doing it between himself, a Caliumet farm horse, and
- 11:20Speaker 2: another horse that's owned by a group over in Lexington.
- 11:22Speaker 3: So is this like a simulated race? Correct, it's called
- 11:25Speaker 3: a breeze that's or a workout. And he went through
- 11:30Speaker 3: it in flying colors after it. Dale Romans is like, Michael,
- 11:34Speaker 3: don't you ever sell this horse? Don't you even sell
- 11:37Speaker 3: a part of this horse? And what you need? We
- 11:40Speaker 3: don't know yet. But it doesn't have a name yet.
- 11:42Speaker 2: No, it doesn't have a name. His well, he's by
- 11:45Speaker 2: his dad is Cairo Prince okay, and his mom is,
- 11:51Speaker 2: oh shoot, I can't even remember Freedom bound. So yeah,
- 11:56Speaker 2: we we have to come up with a name. We
- 11:57Speaker 2: haven't yet, so what we will within the next couple
- 11:59Speaker 2: of Prince Freedom. Yeah, that's that sounds nice.
- 12:05Speaker 3: We all like it.
- 12:06Speaker 2: No, I don't like it. My son wants to name
- 12:09Speaker 2: on Electric Boots because when we were talking about names
- 12:12Speaker 2: the other night, the piano player was playing Elton John.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm not naming him electric Blue Boots.
- 12:18Speaker 3: What was the mom again? Freedom bound with something good?
- 12:22Speaker 3: Are you really okay? Well, we'll see if I accept
- 12:24Speaker 3: it or not.
- 12:25Speaker 2: But do you remember the jockey club has to accept it.
- 12:28Speaker 2: So that's what I was doing. I was out there
- 12:31Speaker 2: and having a good time. So and then on top
- 12:35Speaker 2: of it all, one of the other horses that we
- 12:38Speaker 2: were expecting over the weekend ended up coming Friday morning too,
- 12:43Speaker 2: so we had two horses out there on Friday, So
- 12:46Speaker 2: that was fun. That was Cosmic Creed, who is by
- 12:49Speaker 2: Jimmy Creed out of Moon and Stars. I think that's
- 12:52Speaker 2: a great name, Cosmic Creed. I'm looking forward to her,
- 12:55Speaker 2: big beautiful chestnut Philly. But yeah, sorry, sorry I didn't
- 13:00Speaker 2: do a show on Friday. I'm sorry you didn't get
- 13:02Speaker 2: to sleep in and all that kind of rigormor Okay,
- 13:04Speaker 2: I couldn't believe there.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I went home and told my roommate that night, you
- 13:08Speaker 3: really you were that mad at me? No, I wasn't
- 13:10Speaker 3: mad at all. I was like, dude, you're not gonna
- 13:12Speaker 3: believe this excuse that that Michael told me. It was
- 13:14Speaker 3: not the radio show. It was the truth. It was Okay,
- 13:17Speaker 3: I used the term excuse slightly. It was the truth.
- 13:20Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, the reasoning for not doing the show,
- 13:23Speaker 3: it was probably the funniest reasoning I've ever heard, the funniest.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Oh god, yeah, okay, all right, then, well if you
- 13:28Speaker 2: think that's funny, man, I thought it was great. Stick
- 13:31Speaker 2: around me a little longer and you'll find some of
- 13:32Speaker 2: the funniest things that I do too. That's a lot
- 13:35Speaker 2: of times I don't even think are funny. There's a
- 13:37Speaker 2: lot of five O two three four fourteen fifty You
- 13:39Speaker 2: want to call in five O two four one four
- 13:41Speaker 2: fourteen fifty one, textan on the whisky Thief text one,
- 13:44Speaker 2: or you can tweet me at just the Cat Radio.
- 13:46Speaker 2: As you can see, we're on YouTube if you want
- 13:48Speaker 2: to look that up as well. Uh Big X Sports Radio, Louisville,
- 13:51Speaker 2: Mark Pope lands A six foot eleven Washington, University of
- 13:55Speaker 2: Washington Transfer Frank kept Nang. I think that's the way
- 14:00Speaker 2: you pronounce it. I think it's non Oh it is,
- 14:03Speaker 2: then then spell it at n O n g. Okay
- 14:06Speaker 2: kept Nong? Isn't he German?
- 14:09Speaker 3: Oh? Is he really? I didn't realize that.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I want to say it's Frank. Ah, that makes even
- 14:14Speaker 2: more sense. Okay, Frank Kepnong. Over the weekend, Uh, it
- 14:18Speaker 2: ranked fourteenth nationally in block percentage. I like that from
- 14:23Speaker 2: that standpoint. Now, hih on, he's from Cameroon. There you
- 14:27Speaker 2: go perfect close. It's really close there.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Man.
- 14:33Speaker 2: You need to play trivial pursuit with me or something,
- 14:36Speaker 2: because you know what, you'll come up with the most
- 14:38Speaker 2: random answers that'll be so far away from what the
- 14:40Speaker 2: truth is.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Uh.
- 14:41Speaker 3: But I listen, I.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Looked at this twenty four year old player that is
- 14:47Speaker 2: in his seventh season of college basketball. Did you realize
- 14:51Speaker 2: he's now looking at seventh season? But he's got to
- 14:53Speaker 2: get a waiver. Yes, he does have to get a waiver,
- 14:55Speaker 2: get eligible.
- 14:57Speaker 3: It seems like that should all be good.
- 14:59Speaker 2: It should be the only part that because he's battled
- 15:01Speaker 2: a lot of injuries and that's why he's still playing.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Uh.
- 15:04Speaker 2: You gotta believe two things. Number One, Diallo had a
- 15:08Speaker 2: lot to do with bringing him in sure, because they
- 15:10Speaker 2: played what twenty five games together last year, and he
- 15:13Speaker 2: originally was at Oregon, then transferred to Washington. Now he's
- 15:17Speaker 2: transferred to the UK. But does it worry you justin
- 15:22Speaker 2: a little bit, here we go again with a player
- 15:26Speaker 2: that is prone to injury.
- 15:29Speaker 3: No, really, because this is a big and what did
- 15:33Speaker 3: this team needs? So was that last player was a
- 15:36Speaker 3: big that ended up not playing. Yeah, but Kentucky wasn't
- 15:40Speaker 3: in a position when they got Jayden last year where
- 15:42Speaker 3: they needed a big. I mean, you're you're in a
- 15:45Speaker 3: spot this year where Malachi stays in the draft. You're
- 15:48Speaker 3: up the creek without a paddle in terms of that
- 15:50Speaker 3: center position. So maybe a little bit worry some with
- 15:54Speaker 3: the with the injury passed, but at least it's a
- 15:57Speaker 3: big body. It gets you some some depth that that's
- 16:00Speaker 3: inner position, which you desperately need at this juncture. So no,
- 16:04Speaker 3: I'm not really at this point, I'm not really worried
- 16:07Speaker 3: about the injuries because he's it's not like he's coming
- 16:09Speaker 3: off an ACL tear seven months ago.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Well, you know, let's talk about this, because I was
- 16:14Speaker 2: a little worried last week. Then I'm like, Okay, Malick
- 16:18Speaker 2: has not coming back. If I was him I wouldn't
- 16:20Speaker 2: come back. But now, after seeing a lot of reports
- 16:23Speaker 2: over the weekend, after a lot of things that I read,
- 16:25Speaker 2: it's like, ah, I'm kind of feeling comfortable that he
- 16:28Speaker 2: is coming back.
- 16:29Speaker 3: After the draft lottery, he was not in the top
- 16:31Speaker 3: thirty in the mock draft exact, I think that would bring.
- 16:34Speaker 2: So I think that, you know, I'm not trying to
- 16:36Speaker 2: break his heart, because I don't think his heart would
- 16:38Speaker 2: be broken. I still think, man, I was almost there,
- 16:43Speaker 2: but let me utilize this one more year. I'm still
- 16:45Speaker 2: gonna make a lot of money at Kentucky and then
- 16:49Speaker 2: I'll improve my game and get a better draft pick
- 16:51Speaker 2: and maybe even make the lottery.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Well, it's like what Mark Pope said last week and
- 16:55Speaker 3: that Clipley listened to on the show. But Malick I's
- 16:57Speaker 3: got two goals right now. He wants to play in
- 16:59Speaker 3: the and he wants to try to hang a banner
- 17:01Speaker 3: at Kentucky. Obviously, you can't do both of those things
- 17:04Speaker 3: in the same season, so you've got to make a choice.
- 17:06Speaker 3: And I ultimately think he comes back. Yeah, Yeah, I'm
- 17:10Speaker 3: I'm feeling pretty confident. I've talked to a couple of
- 17:12Speaker 3: people that kan are in somewhat of the no, and
- 17:16Speaker 3: they feel like what they've heard from the surrounding people
- 17:20Speaker 3: is that, yeah, he's going to be coming back, So
- 17:22Speaker 3: we should hear that sometime, hopefully within the next few days.
- 17:26Speaker 3: We'll see how long it takes to him to really
- 17:28Speaker 3: get back into that. But what is the last day
- 17:30Speaker 3: that I don't even have that the last day that
- 17:33Speaker 3: they had to choose whether or not they're seeing the
- 17:35Speaker 3: draft or not. Think it's May sixth or twenty seventh,
- 17:38Speaker 3: somewhere in there.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I think we'll hear before that, though. I don't think
- 17:41Speaker 2: he'll wait until last minute.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Do you? Probably not? No, I mean it'll probably be
- 17:46Speaker 3: a lot like like, oh, wait, didn't make his decision
- 17:49Speaker 3: at the deadline day right here, did he? No? Not
- 17:52Speaker 3: until the deadline day. Oh that's when he did make
- 17:54Speaker 3: Oh it was. It was.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Everybody was as nervous as they could be. So I
- 17:58Speaker 2: don't think moreno will be that way. So I'm hoping
- 18:03Speaker 2: it is. I know I realize that, but I'm sure
- 18:07Speaker 2: he's already told the staff. I bet the staff knows
- 18:11Speaker 2: before any of us, and then he'll release the information
- 18:14Speaker 2: a little later on. I'm okay with that, but I
- 18:18Speaker 2: don't know. Are you beginning now with this addition? How
- 18:23Speaker 2: do you feel about UK basketball?
- 18:27Speaker 3: No different than I did before the weekend? Really? No,
- 18:30Speaker 3: I mean it's just look this this guy. I don't
- 18:33Speaker 3: think is he gonna play a role for Kentucky? Would
- 18:37Speaker 3: I would say absolutely, he's gonna play a role?
- 18:40Speaker 4: He is?
- 18:41Speaker 3: Is he gonna play a big role? I'm not anticipating that.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I honestly, I would be surprised if he gets more
- 18:49Speaker 3: run than in Jay. Oh.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Really, I kind of feel like this is the replacement
- 18:56Speaker 2: for Brandon Garrison. Don't you think this is an upgrade
- 19:00Speaker 2: to Brandon Garrison?
- 19:02Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody's an upgrade to break. Oh man, you are
- 19:05Speaker 3: so cruel that pork break. Oh my gosh, come on,
- 19:09Speaker 3: that's not that bad. Really did shoot some basketball this weekend.
- 19:14Speaker 3: That was fun.
- 19:15Speaker 2: That was a squirrel if I've ever seen, the more
- 19:18Speaker 2: you are on this shore, the more you.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Were acting like Michael Bennett. I just want you to
- 19:22Speaker 3: know that. So that's scary.
- 19:23Speaker 2: When your roommate starts calling you Michael Bennett, then you
- 19:25Speaker 2: know it is. That's the day the transformation has officially ended.
- 19:30Speaker 3: That's the day I'll hang it up. I was not
- 19:33Speaker 3: gonna say something else.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Don't say yeah, I'm glad you said hang it up,
- 19:36Speaker 2: not hang it So anyway, we gotta take a break.
- 19:40Speaker 2: We got all kinds of topics today, especially since I
- 19:43Speaker 2: miss Friday. But you know, the whole frustration with McDonald's.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I'm very upset with McDonald's right now. I just want
- 19:48Speaker 2: you to know.
- 19:49Speaker 3: The restaurant or the American game.
- 19:51Speaker 2: No, no, no, I don't pay attention to the All
- 19:54Speaker 2: American Game. I am upset with the restaurant. I want
- 19:57Speaker 2: you to know right now.
- 19:58Speaker 3: I did see Ronald got to say the national anthem
- 20:01Speaker 3: all really, he was in full cust Where was this?
- 20:08Speaker 3: I don't I have no idea. I'd have to do something.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, when I was a kid, I wanted
- 20:12Speaker 2: to go see the Ronald McDonald at McDonald's. I went there.
- 20:16Speaker 2: It's like, dude, you don't have the same voice. I said, what.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I literally asked the guy, what happen to your voice?
- 20:21Speaker 2: Because it wasn't the same voice from the commercial. My
- 20:24Speaker 2: mom was so embarrassed. I called out Ronald McDonald. I
- 20:30Speaker 2: know that's terrible exactly, And that was I was twenty
- 20:33Speaker 2: two at the time. But anyway, we got take freank.
- 20:36Speaker 2: I'm kidding. I think I was like six, but I
- 20:39Speaker 2: noticed his voice was not the same as on the commercial.
- 20:42Speaker 2: You're right to call him out.
- 20:43Speaker 3: It messed me up. It's like a are you do
- 20:46Speaker 3: you have a cold? You have? Do you have allergies?
- 20:48Speaker 3: Like me?
- 20:49Speaker 2: So anyway, yeah, my mom was so embarrassed. But because
- 20:52Speaker 2: now all these other kids, is this not really Ronald McDonald?
- 20:56Speaker 2: And I'm like, I don't think it is, dude, I
- 20:57Speaker 2: think this is some kind of imposter anyway, Uh one
- 21:01Speaker 2: of them, noxious kid, I was. But all right, we
- 21:04Speaker 2: gotta take a break fable two three four fourteen fifty
- 21:06Speaker 2: five two four one four fourteen fifty or you can
- 21:09Speaker 2: uh text me or tweet me at justicicat radio.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Stay right. There a lot more comma just the cats
- 21:14Speaker 3: on this Monday.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Nie Nie, She's seen all the classics.
- 21:29Speaker 1: She knows every line.
- 21:31Speaker 5: This what pretty and pink?
- 21:32Speaker 6: Even I know.
- 21:45Speaker 3: She was a boy, She was a girl.
- 21:48Speaker 6: Can't I get any more abbious?
- 21:51Speaker 4: He was punk?
- 21:53Speaker 6: She did not? What more can I say? She secret?
- 22:10Speaker 3: That is some serious baser playing in the song. Who
- 22:14Speaker 3: is this? Avril Leven? Oh, Avril Levine?
- 22:18Speaker 2: The the you know because you said it, I can
- 22:21Speaker 2: pronounce it correctly.
- 22:22Speaker 3: But little skater boy action on your Monday. Yeah, I listen.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I like that.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I mean you've taken the one little song I sent
- 22:29Speaker 2: you and just ran with it. Oh I love those
- 22:32Speaker 2: Uh what was that? I wish we were we were
- 22:34Speaker 2: in the eighties. I mean I love nineteen Yeah, nineteen
- 22:37Speaker 2: eighty five talking about all the movies that I grew
- 22:40Speaker 2: up with, Pretty in Pink.
- 22:42Speaker 3: When you sent me that song, which we'll hear that later, Yeah,
- 22:47Speaker 3: I'll I celebrated because this is all really, this is
- 22:50Speaker 3: right in my wheelhouse, is it really? Yeah?
- 22:53Speaker 2: Okay, well you know I found another new download on iTunes,
- 22:57Speaker 2: or I should say, uh, the iPhone and it lets
- 23:01Speaker 2: you put in a word and it'll suit search all
- 23:05Speaker 2: the music that you want to listen to from that
- 23:06Speaker 2: one word.
- 23:07Speaker 3: That do you really for the show? Yeah?
- 23:10Speaker 2: Okay, I thought that was pretty cool, and so I
- 23:14Speaker 2: did take you. You know what you need to see iPhone? Okay,
- 23:18Speaker 2: you need to see iPhone because that was exactly. I
- 23:22Speaker 2: don't know if you heard this or not, but do
- 23:23Speaker 2: a Lipa is our lipa. I just call her Lippa
- 23:26Speaker 2: because you know she got some big old lips. But
- 23:30Speaker 2: I don't know her music. I couldn't name a single
- 23:34Speaker 2: song of hers. Okay, but I've seen her on social media.
- 23:39Speaker 2: It's like, oh, she's pretty. She is very attractive.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Okay. I had no idea she was British. It freaked
- 23:45Speaker 3: me out.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I thought she would speak in normal English, and all
- 23:49Speaker 2: of a sudden she has an accent. Because I like
- 23:51Speaker 2: watching the one guy that has this thing called tiny
- 23:54Speaker 2: desk concerts. I don't know if you've ever seen that.
- 23:57Speaker 2: It's like it's in a library or something, and she
- 23:59Speaker 2: come up and sings in this tiny desk concert and
- 24:02Speaker 2: she's got personality, she's got a great smile, and she
- 24:06Speaker 2: starts singing some song I never heard of. But it
- 24:09Speaker 2: freaked me out as soon as I started hearing there
- 24:11Speaker 2: speaking British accent.
- 24:12Speaker 3: It's like I can get that really, Yeah, I mean,
- 24:14Speaker 3: it does freak out if you don't think anybody has
- 24:17Speaker 3: an Okay, they start talking, yeah, yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Well you know she is suing Samsung for what well, uh,
- 24:25Speaker 2: she said, which is true. Her image is on the
- 24:29Speaker 2: box of Samsung, and it is influencing people to buy
- 24:34Speaker 2: Samsung because of her image, and she is now suing
- 24:38Speaker 2: Samsung for fifteen million.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Dollars like she needs more money.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Well I looked at this and thought, well, fifteen million
- 24:47Speaker 2: doesn't seem like very much, especially as many TVs as
- 24:51Speaker 2: Samsung sells. And then there have been people that have
- 24:54Speaker 2: come out and said, yes, I bought that TV because
- 24:57Speaker 2: of Dua Lipa's or a Lipa's image on the front
- 25:01Speaker 2: of the box, And I'm thinking, come on, man, I
- 25:03Speaker 2: don't believe any of that.
- 25:05Speaker 3: How would you buy something because somebody's on the box exactly?
- 25:09Speaker 3: I mean, I get that's how advertising is probably supposed
- 25:11Speaker 3: to work. But yes, I've never once done that, neither.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Of I is. There have been times it works the
- 25:17Speaker 2: opposite way for me.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Now, when I'm in the gas station and I walk
- 25:20Speaker 3: past the shackgummies, do I think about it every single day? Sure?
- 25:24Speaker 3: Do you really? I've actually made the purchase?
- 25:25Speaker 4: No?
- 25:26Speaker 3: Wow? And you're a huge Shack fan, huge Shack fan. Yeah, oh,
- 25:31Speaker 3: but I'm not a gummy fan. That's the problem. Yeah. Oh,
- 25:34Speaker 3: you you don't like gummies? Not really? Oh I love
- 25:36Speaker 3: gummy bears.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Yeah no wait wait wait wait are you talking about
- 25:40Speaker 2: the gummies that are make you feel better? Are you
- 25:42Speaker 2: talking about just regular candy gummies regular can't just making sure, Yeah,
- 25:46Speaker 2: just making sure because you know there's a song by
- 25:49Speaker 2: Jimmy Buffet the gummy just kicked in. Yeah, yeah, all right,
- 25:53Speaker 2: So I love gummy bears. Yeah, every time we stop
- 25:56Speaker 2: at that place down I sixty five towards Nashville BUCkies.
- 26:00Speaker 3: So you have to have a series. I have to
- 26:02Speaker 3: have a certain con I'm the German and me has
- 26:05Speaker 3: to have the haral Oh okay, you want that? Have
- 26:07Speaker 3: to Oh okay, I don't want another brand. They all
- 26:11Speaker 3: taste the same, Yes they do. They're exactly the same.
- 26:15Speaker 3: They come from the same manufacturer in China. They ship
- 26:17Speaker 3: them over here and just put different labels on Harrabo's undefeated.
- 26:20Speaker 3: It is the exact same gummy. Don't tell me this else, Okay.
- 26:24Speaker 3: And then if you want the gummies that make you
- 26:26Speaker 3: feel better, they just add a little spice to it
- 26:28Speaker 3: and boom, now you're you know, flying eye. Okay, Oh
- 26:31Speaker 3: they are in this state. Oh that's too bad. Now
- 26:34Speaker 3: you want to go back to the Vegas conversation. Yeah,
- 26:36Speaker 3: you could smash all kinds of gummies.
- 26:38Speaker 2: I don't know what states that stuff is illegal and
- 26:41Speaker 2: legal more states. That's legal than not really. What is
- 26:45Speaker 2: Kentucky waiting on? What is Indiana waiting on? Oh it's
- 26:49Speaker 2: so bull it's.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Medical in Kentucky. Indiana is not even medical. I see.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I don't know the difference with that. I know you
- 26:55Speaker 2: got to go get the prescription from a doctor, medical car,
- 26:59Speaker 2: but who cares? All you do is just go get one.
- 27:01Speaker 2: What what's the difference if I want to go, say
- 27:04Speaker 2: to myself, then you know now you can get those
- 27:06Speaker 2: ozimpic shots. All you gotta do is talk to somebody online.
- 27:10Speaker 2: You don't even go see a doctor. You get a
- 27:13Speaker 2: person to talk to you online and boom, not even
- 27:16Speaker 2: on by phone, but by text messaging, and boom, you've
- 27:19Speaker 2: got ozimpic. Well why can't they do the same. I
- 27:22Speaker 2: just don't understand it. One day you think, so, okay,
- 27:26Speaker 2: let's get to the whiskey teed text line five two
- 27:29Speaker 2: four one four fourteen fifty A. Zach your brother sends
- 27:33Speaker 2: in the filthiest text message I've ever seen in my life.
- 27:36Speaker 2: We can't even read. Does he think I'm going to
- 27:38Speaker 2: read this on air? Does he think he's tricking me?
- 27:41Speaker 3: But can't read that?
- 27:42Speaker 2: Zachary, Yeah, it's her birthday of course she wants and
- 27:45Speaker 2: that's all I can read. Okay, So yeah, we're not
- 27:48Speaker 2: doing that, Zach, take this to your mom, grow justin.
- 27:53Speaker 2: This to your mom, justin and show her what your
- 27:56Speaker 2: brother sent in today. This would have been, this would
- 27:59Speaker 2: be his mom, but that's okay. Take it to his mom.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I say, take it to both moms and get the
- 28:05Speaker 2: impression of both of them. Okay, who would give more
- 28:09Speaker 2: of a discipline your mom, his stepmom or maybe your
- 28:14Speaker 2: dead or his dad or I don't know how it goes.
- 28:17Speaker 2: You're the dynamic of your family is too much to
- 28:20Speaker 2: his mom married my dad. Okay, So who is going
- 28:23Speaker 2: to give the biggest disciplinary action towards Zach?
- 28:27Speaker 3: Nobody in regards to this text. Nobody. They both they'd
- 28:32Speaker 3: both laugh. His mom would laugh at that. My mom
- 28:34Speaker 3: would not laugh at that. His mom would laugh, No,
- 28:36Speaker 3: my mom. My dad would be.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Dying laugh and my mom would not know, Michael, that's
- 28:40Speaker 2: not funny. And then she'd walk away.
- 28:42Speaker 3: We're pretty good natured family, really, we all got pretty
- 28:45Speaker 3: good sense of humors.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Uh.
- 28:46Speaker 2: One person said l D is the best. He said,
- 28:49Speaker 2: Leon together is the best comedy do ever?
- 28:54Speaker 4: L D?
- 28:55Speaker 3: Who's ld I don't know who you're talking about podcasts,
- 28:59Speaker 3: random thoughts.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Uh, But I do love that Scoot's trying to pronounce
- 29:03Speaker 2: foreign names and then shows a picture of Brad Pitt
- 29:06Speaker 2: from Inglorious Bastards, which you know he's trying to say
- 29:10Speaker 2: Italian names and he can't say him in his Oklahoma accent.
- 29:15Speaker 3: It's awesome. I'm just trying to figure out which name
- 29:17Speaker 3: I'm mispronounced, because I feel like I nailed it this morning.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Uh, well, how many name names did you talk about?
- 29:24Speaker 2: We were talking about I mispronounced Frank kept name?
- 29:27Speaker 3: Non? Is it really not? I think it's kept? Okay,
- 29:31Speaker 3: I listen, But then I thought I was, But then
- 29:33Speaker 3: again I thought he was from Germany. About That's the
- 29:36Speaker 3: part that I think hilarious right there, I listen. I
- 29:40Speaker 3: feel like I mispronounced names more than a lot more
- 29:43Speaker 3: than you do, And the fact they're making fun of
- 29:45Speaker 3: you is making it makes me happy that they think
- 29:47Speaker 3: of you that way more than me. I don't know
- 29:50Speaker 3: who LD is either, Little Dickie. Maybe it's the only
- 29:55Speaker 3: LD I can think of.
- 29:57Speaker 2: He and Leon together is the best comedy duo ever?
- 30:01Speaker 2: Who's Leon? If you don't know who LD is? Who's
- 30:05Speaker 2: Leon two?
- 30:07Speaker 3: You feel like you could use context clues. If you
- 30:08Speaker 3: can figure out who Leon is, might lead you to
- 30:11Speaker 3: LD and vice versa. Right.
- 30:13Speaker 2: One person texted Michael, this roster is coming together. They
- 30:17Speaker 2: need a small Ford Mom Clive, Oh my gosh, Manchilovitch
- 30:23Speaker 2: finishes this roster. If so top fifteen roster. No, I
- 30:29Speaker 2: think it's a top twenty roster. But I'm not gonna
- 30:31Speaker 2: say top fifteen. I would if you get mom Chilovich,
- 30:34Speaker 2: I would go top fifteen.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I know. Listen, and there is nearly fifty from three.
- 30:39Speaker 3: There is a strong chance he comes. He is what
- 30:42Speaker 3: six eight sixty seven six eight, yes, and he is
- 30:45Speaker 3: a better shooter than Kobe Breo was.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I didn't realize, is it really? I
- 30:51Speaker 2: didn't need a higher percentage last year than.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Before he came.
- 30:56Speaker 2: And I love Kobe Brea Holy cow. Okay, I know
- 31:00Speaker 2: I'm not going I don't want to jinx it this year.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I want to go the opposite way. I was so
- 31:06Speaker 2: hyped up on that team last year, and I think
- 31:08Speaker 2: Mark Pope should do the exact same thing. I think
- 31:11Speaker 2: he should not hype this team up like he did
- 31:15Speaker 2: last year.
- 31:15Speaker 3: It didn't work.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I think it put way too much pressure on them,
- 31:19Speaker 2: and that pressure went into a really a locker room
- 31:22Speaker 2: that just didn't get along.
- 31:24Speaker 3: But if you want to, if you want to talk
- 31:27Speaker 3: about a guy though, that can change the whole outlook
- 31:29Speaker 3: for this season. Yes, Milan Montilovitch is that guy. Is
- 31:34Speaker 3: he really?
- 31:34Speaker 2: He's that Kid's awesome. I like him so much. Okay, well,
- 31:39Speaker 2: I listen. I'm gonna say they're a top twenty twenty
- 31:42Speaker 2: five team with if they get him as well. And
- 31:46Speaker 2: because he I don't think he's going to the NBA.
- 31:49Speaker 2: You think he's using it or going to be in
- 31:50Speaker 2: the draft. I think he's just using it like Malachias.
- 31:53Speaker 2: And then you kind of hope that they're together somewhere
- 31:57Speaker 2: somehow and say, hey, dude, this has been fun. Come
- 32:00Speaker 2: with me to Kentucky. If I was Malachai moreno, I
- 32:05Speaker 2: would be doing that with all the great players. I'd
- 32:07Speaker 2: be in touch with Mark Pope, my head coach, and
- 32:10Speaker 2: say who do you want me to talk to? And
- 32:12Speaker 2: then now you got somebody on the inside. You know,
- 32:15Speaker 2: you wonder if there are players like that that coaches use,
- 32:19Speaker 2: why don't you go there and utilize this as.
- 32:23Speaker 3: A recruiting tool for your team and your coach, wouldn't
- 32:27Speaker 3: I tell you right now, it's exactly what I would
- 32:30Speaker 3: do if I was a head coach. I you laugh
- 32:33Speaker 3: all you want, I'm doing it. If I was the kid,
- 32:35Speaker 3: I would do it as well. Just throw me an
- 32:37Speaker 3: extra hundred thousand.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Coach great point in a power uh an iPad because
- 32:42Speaker 2: he's gonna do PowerPoint during the whole time he's there
- 32:45Speaker 2: going through the combine. Yeah, let me show you, UK,
- 32:49Speaker 2: I'd get him a little screen. I'd get him, you know,
- 32:52Speaker 2: one of those projectors and boom, you're doing power points
- 32:56Speaker 2: in your dorm room every single night. Who wants to
- 33:00Speaker 2: come to Kentucky? You know you don't want to go
- 33:02Speaker 2: play for Duke. I mean, that'll make you puke. Come on,
- 33:05Speaker 2: there's better places to go, you know. If you want
- 33:07Speaker 2: to go to UL, I'll laugh at you, but go
- 33:09Speaker 2: ahead and go.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Have a rhyme for Louisville. Uh uh for Louisville.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Louisville. I don't know. I don't have a rhyme for Louisville. Okay,
- 33:17Speaker 2: I'm sorry, a cardinal. What is a good rhyme for Louisville?
- 33:22Speaker 3: I just you hit us with that Duke puke one
- 33:25Speaker 3: real quick.
- 33:26Speaker 2: I mean, Kelsey will make you beltia. I just don't
- 33:29Speaker 2: have one that doesn't work either. I know Kelsey, uh, Kelsey,
- 33:33Speaker 2: Kelsey Kelsey waiting until So.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Louisville is also linked to Mom Chilovich. I'm worried that
- 33:42Speaker 3: he goes there with the I'm not.
- 33:46Speaker 2: I'm not worried because they have too many right now
- 33:49Speaker 2: and where's the where's the playtime going to count? So
- 33:51Speaker 2: I'm not worried about that. They have to be running
- 33:53Speaker 2: out of money right now, and if they're not, then
- 33:56Speaker 2: you know, it's it's got to be the pizza boy.
- 33:59Speaker 3: That's the Yeah, that's what I'm saying. They got Papa's
- 34:02Speaker 3: back on board. They're not gonna run out of money.
- 34:04Speaker 3: You don't think so, okay, well I would be done
- 34:08Speaker 3: with it. But I don't know.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I mean, at some point in time, don't you just
- 34:11Speaker 2: say you are so wrong? One person says it's two
- 34:17Speaker 2: fifteen better than the cards. It's I'm not understanding the text,
- 34:26Speaker 2: are you. It's top fifteen? Okay, top fifteen, okay, thank you,
- 34:31Speaker 2: but I get it. Texture yes, but at this point,
- 34:36Speaker 2: I just don't want to say that right now because
- 34:39Speaker 2: of the fact that I want this roster to earn
- 34:43Speaker 2: and have a chip on its shoulder. I don't want
- 34:47Speaker 2: them to get too confident out there that we're a
- 34:48Speaker 2: great roster and then all of a sudden, you have
- 34:50Speaker 2: a team that just doesn't tune out to be the
- 34:53Speaker 2: turnout to be the team he thought it was going
- 34:54Speaker 2: to be.
- 34:55Speaker 3: That it makes sense.
- 34:56Speaker 2: I mean, I have been ruined from last year, so
- 34:59Speaker 2: I I agree with you. I think this team would
- 35:01Speaker 2: be phenomenal if they get that player. Mam La, I'm
- 35:06Speaker 2: I'm just gonna butcher it over.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Uh, if we get him, man, it's gonna be a
- 35:11Speaker 2: lot of fun. And every the narrative changes. I think
- 35:14Speaker 2: the narrative changed over the weekend, and you evidently don't.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Not really, No, Okay, I certainly do. And I'm getting
- 35:24Speaker 2: a little more excited. So last week I was not.
- 35:27Speaker 2: It was doom and gloom for certain for me. And
- 35:29Speaker 2: I've had so many people out there, Michael be patient, Michael,
- 35:32Speaker 2: be patient. And I wanted to blame you know, Jmi,
- 35:34Speaker 2: I wanted to blame everybody else. You got four GMS.
- 35:37Speaker 2: It's like, no, no, no, no, you need to go
- 35:39Speaker 2: hire a single GM. I had an argument with the
- 35:41Speaker 2: guy over the weekend. You can't have four people running
- 35:44Speaker 2: as a GM.
- 35:46Speaker 3: This can't be.
- 35:47Speaker 2: It's gonna be run it like a professional team. That's
- 35:50Speaker 2: what it is today. So we gotta take another break.
- 35:52Speaker 2: I'll get Boria of your text as soon as we
- 35:54Speaker 2: get back. Five O two three and four fourteen fifty
- 35:56Speaker 2: call five oh two four one four fourteen fifty if
- 35:59Speaker 2: you want to text in on text, stay right there.
- 36:03Speaker 3: We're coming a stander Bruce.
- 36:05Speaker 4: She sends in a letter bus. Now he's a super stamps.
- 36:12Speaker 4: Then he's get taha, Fasie, you want a stander bus.
- 36:18Speaker 7: She sets in a lighter, but now he's a super
- 36:24Speaker 7: stassing all the small things. True care, true dreams, Aunt
- 36:46Speaker 7: take one loft, You're right.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Access true always. I know you'll be at my show watching.
- 37:10Speaker 3: You play songs every now and then. I would rather
- 37:13Speaker 3: the song.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Be playing while we're talking. Would that be the most
- 37:16Speaker 2: irritating show or or delightful show? If you had music
- 37:20Speaker 2: playing in the background as we had a conversation, I.
- 37:23Speaker 3: Think it'd be enjoyable. However, we couldn't do YouTube really okay,
- 37:27Speaker 3: cause it's gonna cut you off if you do if
- 37:31Speaker 3: all right, if you do play it on you know,
- 37:33Speaker 3: like the radio stations do music radio stations, you pay
- 37:38Speaker 3: for it? Yeah, okay, how much is that? I don't know.
- 37:42Speaker 3: There's a bunch of different companies where you can get
- 37:45Speaker 3: music through because you get your music license through.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Imagine you go to basketball games, you go to NBA,
- 37:52Speaker 2: you go to hockey, they're playing music the entire time,
- 37:56Speaker 2: especially at the NBA. I just wonder how a show
- 38:00Speaker 2: this would go if music was playing the entire time,
- 38:02Speaker 2: if it would be annoying or popular.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Well, it would probably be pretty annoying because you wouldn't
- 38:08Speaker 3: be able to think straight to me exactly. You would
- 38:11Speaker 3: stop so many times back, who's this? Yeah, Oh that's
- 38:15Speaker 3: so and So's guitar. Yeah, we figured it out, and
- 38:19Speaker 3: thank you. Will from South Central LD is Larry David
- 38:24Speaker 3: and Leon. Who was his last name on the show.
- 38:28Speaker 3: I think it's black JB. Smooth, who I love. He
- 38:31Speaker 3: was my favorite character on Curb Your Enthusiasm was Leon.
- 38:35Speaker 3: I mean two amo those.
- 38:38Speaker 2: I can't say the rest of the line, but it's
- 38:41Speaker 2: one of my favorite lines in the entire series of
- 38:45Speaker 2: the twenty three years it was on. I was disappointed,
- 38:49Speaker 2: and I haven't watched the ending. I left the last
- 38:52Speaker 2: two episodes. No, I'm sorry, last three episodes I have
- 38:56Speaker 2: not watched because I.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Don't want it to end.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Should I go back and watch the last three episodes
- 39:02Speaker 2: of curbyw Enthusiasm or say?
- 39:04Speaker 3: Nah? I don't really know what to tell you to
- 39:08Speaker 3: do here because I waited what a year and a
- 39:12Speaker 3: half for season four Stranger Things. Watched the entire season. Yeah,
- 39:18Speaker 3: have not watched the finale yet, really, and that was
- 39:22Speaker 3: three months ago that I finished the rest. I get it.
- 39:25Speaker 3: I just I don't want it to be over, so
- 39:27Speaker 3: I'm refusing to watch it. Scooter, did you find a
- 39:31Speaker 3: broom in the studio to start sweeping? Hey? That was
- 39:34Speaker 3: last week, so suck it, buddy, it was. That's on
- 39:37Speaker 3: you for reading now. Oh well, that's just the stupid thing.
- 39:40Speaker 3: No broom this week. Bet. One person said Michael.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Would probably like Mark Wills nineteen something, even if it
- 39:48Speaker 2: is country. I don't know who Mark Wills is. Nineteen
- 39:52Speaker 2: Something's a great song, it is, really you'll have to
- 39:54Speaker 2: play that someday. Uh yeah, I sorry, Texterter, I don't know, uh,
- 39:59Speaker 2: Germany or Cameroon. Basically, neighbors. Come on, mix up? Yeah, whoop?
- 40:06Speaker 3: You said? The young man that UK just got.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Frank Keepnong is from Germany and he's from Cameroon, which
- 40:16Speaker 2: pretty close. Whereas Cameroon that's in South Africa. Think so yeah, Africa.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I'm sorry I should have never asked you. How about
- 40:26Speaker 2: bound in Glory for the cult? Is that a good name?
- 40:30Speaker 2: I like that bound in Glory? Yeah, that is pretty cool.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I'm gonna make note of that one and think about that.
- 40:40Speaker 2: I like it when Texters want to come up with
- 40:42Speaker 2: names for the horse. You don't like my name, I
- 40:44Speaker 2: do like your name, stop it. I don't like pretty quick. Well,
- 40:49Speaker 2: that one was a dumb one. You've come up with
- 40:51Speaker 2: better ones. Maybe they should just get married. Go get
- 40:55Speaker 2: married in Vegas by Elvis, you know. And that's my
- 41:00Speaker 2: my son's girlfriend's sister.
- 41:02Speaker 4: So h.
- 41:04Speaker 3: I had a buddy.
- 41:06Speaker 2: He's a former He just retired a few years back,
- 41:09Speaker 2: spine surgeon here in town. He got married late in life,
- 41:12Speaker 2: about ten years ago. Yeah, they just gotta celebrated their
- 41:15Speaker 2: tenth anniversary. He and his wife got married in Las
- 41:19Speaker 2: Vegas and every year they celebrate their anniversary. They invite
- 41:28Speaker 2: me and a bunch of our other buddies to go
- 41:30Speaker 2: to Las Vegas and celebrate their anniversary. He got married
- 41:36Speaker 2: in an Elvis jumpsuit, he says every.
- 41:41Speaker 3: Year that they go back.
- 41:42Speaker 2: If you if anybody that goes with us wears an
- 41:46Speaker 2: Elvis jumpsuit.
- 41:48Speaker 3: Oh it's the Skydalvin God.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, his picture is at Chewy's over there al
- 41:53Speaker 2: Shehovable Road. If you go to the reception desk and
- 41:57Speaker 2: you go to the left over on the wall, you'll
- 42:00Speaker 2: see a wedding picture of a bunch of people in
- 42:03Speaker 2: guys in Elvis jumpsuits. And that's my buddy getting married.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Frank Castro. Frank says, if you go with us and
- 42:13Speaker 2: you wear onto the plane, you know, at the airport,
- 42:17Speaker 2: onto the plane all the way to Las Vegas a
- 42:21Speaker 2: Elvis jumpsuit, he will pay for the trip.
- 42:26Speaker 3: That's incredible.
- 42:27Speaker 2: I've never done it, nor will I ever do that,
- 42:30Speaker 2: because I'm gonna be late seventies Elvis Presley and I'm
- 42:34Speaker 2: not that guy. Because I'm scared that that jumpsuit's gonna rip.
- 42:37Speaker 2: And guess what what do I do?
- 42:40Speaker 3: Then? Who cares? Embrace it? Oh? Come on, So there's
- 42:44Speaker 3: nothing you can do but embrace it.
- 42:46Speaker 2: You would wear a seventies Elvis jumpsuit onto the plane
- 42:51Speaker 2: all the way to Las Vegas for a free trip.
- 42:54Speaker 3: For a free trip. Absolutely, there's not a whole lot
- 42:56Speaker 3: I wouldn't do for a free trip, really, especially because
- 42:59Speaker 3: I don't take a lot of trip.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Okay, I just I'm not doing it, and I can
- 43:05Speaker 2: tell you I will never do it. The Tiny Death Series,
- 43:09Speaker 2: Josh said, is put on by NPR, and it's one
- 43:13Speaker 2: of the best series of music put out in years,
- 43:16Speaker 2: all different genres of artists, even rap. Juvenile was really good,
- 43:21Speaker 2: all acoustic and unplugged.
- 43:24Speaker 3: The fact that it's done by NPR makes me not
- 43:27Speaker 3: want to watch it. Why do you say that the
- 43:29Speaker 3: NPR does a lot of really good stuff. NPR, to
- 43:32Speaker 3: me is the most boring radio you can get in
- 43:36Speaker 3: your life now radio. I agree with you, but this
- 43:38Speaker 3: is a video version of it. I can't imagine it's
- 43:40Speaker 3: much better.
- 43:41Speaker 2: So, just because it's NPR and your favorite best Zach
- 43:44Speaker 2: Brown band did Tiny Death Series, you wouldn't watch it
- 43:48Speaker 2: because it's on NPR.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Okay, that's probably the one exception. I see. God, you're
- 43:53Speaker 3: just easily used. Okay.
- 43:55Speaker 2: One person said, Alabaster is the best gummy. You can't
- 43:59Speaker 2: stop in Marvel on the way to Chicago and pick
- 44:02Speaker 2: up some and watch them being made. Oh really, that's
- 44:07Speaker 2: pretty cool. I have no idea how they're made, mate,
- 44:12Speaker 2: either other than it's gelatine.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Well yeah, and then I mean you got to put
- 44:17Speaker 3: them in the fridge, right yeah? Yeah yeah.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Similar to Wilfam, South End said, think the texted is
- 44:25Speaker 2: talking about Larry David and Leon with from Kirby youwn
- 44:28Speaker 2: thousand inspired from your Larry David comments from earlier. I
- 44:32Speaker 2: expect yes, you are correct, so thank you for telling
- 44:34Speaker 2: me that. Will From south End one person said, uh,
- 44:42Speaker 2: why not look forward to a new coach? That's it's
- 44:44Speaker 2: an old one right there. Uh and recruiting by powerpoints
- 44:48Speaker 2: sounds like the most Marpoe thing if there ever was.
- 44:52Speaker 3: That's true.
- 44:54Speaker 2: I'll never forget the first time my boys asked my dad, dad,
- 44:58Speaker 2: do you ever give out power Point?
- 45:00Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 45:01Speaker 2: Do you ever do power Point? He goes absolutely. I
- 45:03Speaker 2: get a little card and I make different points and
- 45:06Speaker 2: they're power points. He had no idea there was a
- 45:08Speaker 2: software package called power He just didn't. He always got
- 45:12Speaker 2: the computer out. Where's the Google button? I mean, we
- 45:15Speaker 2: still make Jerry isms about my dad. All Right, we
- 45:18Speaker 2: got take a break. Hour two coming up. We got
- 45:20Speaker 2: to talk about some football as soon as we get back.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Stay right there.
- 45:22Speaker 3: More Just the Cats coming.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Up, Jerry, Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 45:50Speaker 2: All right, now number two on this Monday. Good lord,
- 45:54Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna have peanuts. Why did you let me
- 45:57Speaker 2: eat those?
- 45:57Speaker 3: I don't know why you did eat it? I like
- 46:00Speaker 3: hot stuff? Is it hot? It's a little it's I
- 46:03Speaker 3: wouldn't say it's hot. There's a little bite to it,
- 46:06Speaker 3: but I would say it's a very little bite. I
- 46:07Speaker 3: mean it's Nashville hot, so I straight away, Yeah, Nashville
- 46:11Speaker 3: Hot trail mix for anybody curious.
- 46:13Speaker 2: Okay, let me ask you a question. This whole Nashville
- 46:17Speaker 2: hot chicken. It's ridiculous. Nashville did not invent hot chicken. Okay,
- 46:23Speaker 2: why are they? Why are they all of a sudden,
- 46:25Speaker 2: Oh it's Nashville hot chicken.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Oh well, it's a big deal that it's freaking Nashville
- 46:29Speaker 3: hot chicken. Well, and let me be the first to
- 46:31Speaker 3: say Nashville hot sucks. I don't like the flavor of it.
- 46:35Speaker 3: I would much rather have just like a buffalo.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Nashville sucks. Okay, that's what I'm gonna say. Set City.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Just throw it to It's trash. It's it's all it is.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Keep moving there and spend all that money because people
- 46:47Speaker 2: are starting to find out they're sitting a lot of
- 46:49Speaker 2: It's starting to get real expensive in Nashville.
- 46:51Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it is, and so it.
- 46:55Speaker 2: They did not invent Nashville hot chicken. Okay, sorry, let's
- 46:59Speaker 2: just oh, let's just go ahead and start calling some
- 47:02Speaker 2: restaurants here in town Louisville hot chicken. Okay, let's see
- 47:05Speaker 2: how Nashville. Because I'm still mad at them for advertising
- 47:08Speaker 2: right before the derby. I thought that was obnoxious and
- 47:12Speaker 2: they should be called out for it. I feel like
- 47:15Speaker 2: I'm the only one that called them out. This is
- 47:17Speaker 2: the Louisville thing, and they want to do a little
- 47:19Speaker 2: advertise come to Nashville to vacation. No, no, no, dude,
- 47:22Speaker 2: you know what we're Louisville is going to go war
- 47:25Speaker 2: against Nashville. Now we're calling it Louisville hot Chicken. I'm
- 47:29Speaker 2: not calling it anything else.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Would you have felt differently if it was an Indianapolis commercial?
- 47:35Speaker 2: I wouldn't feel as much. Yeah, but nobody wants to
- 47:39Speaker 2: go there to vacation though. I mean, no offense to Indianapolis,
- 47:43Speaker 2: but I mean, who wants to go to Indianapolis.
- 47:45Speaker 3: There's popping this weekend with Morgan walling up there. Oh okay,
- 47:49Speaker 3: that's nice. Who did the little walkout thing that he
- 47:52Speaker 3: always does, Caitlin Clark? Oh really? Yeah? Why did she
- 47:57Speaker 3: do it? Because she plays for the Fever. Well I wouldn't.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Oh, okay, I'm sorry. I didn't know she played for
- 48:03Speaker 2: their w NBA team, that's all I No offense. Don't
- 48:07Speaker 2: get upset with me, ladies. I don't watch WNBA.
- 48:10Speaker 3: I don't. It's just too political for me. That's what
- 48:13Speaker 3: it is. I look at that league and think politics,
- 48:16Speaker 3: and therefore I don't watch. That's fair. Yeah, so I
- 48:20Speaker 3: enjoy it. I'll watch women's basketball in college. I think
- 48:24Speaker 3: that's fun. But yeah, the whole that one player that
- 48:27Speaker 3: got so political, then you got one that got arrested
- 48:30Speaker 3: in Russia that still should be in jail because she
- 48:33Speaker 3: broke the law. But you laugh all you want. I
- 48:37Speaker 3: mean that stuff, all right, I know it. Don't get
- 48:40Speaker 3: me on that. You see, you had to ask it
- 48:42Speaker 3: Annapolis and then you you did your own squirrel I did.
- 48:46Speaker 3: I know, sorry about it. That's my fault.
- 48:49Speaker 2: I'm not against women's sports whatsoever. I mean, I am
- 48:53Speaker 2: very much for them. I just keep politics out of it.
- 48:55Speaker 2: That's all you gotta do. Once you get politics involved,
- 48:58Speaker 2: I stop watching, I stop support. So that's probably why
- 49:02Speaker 2: I probably I love college sportsman and I love professional
- 49:06Speaker 2: But unfortunately now college sports is getting professional or is professional,
- 49:10Speaker 2: and it's changing it is. I mean, I don't know
- 49:12Speaker 2: what's going to happen, but let's get back to a
- 49:15Speaker 2: happy topic.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Let's do it.
- 49:16Speaker 2: UK football. UK football yet again gets another recruit over
- 49:23Speaker 2: the weekend. So it's wide receiver six foot two, four
- 49:27Speaker 2: star out of Richmond, Virginia class at twenty seven, Ivy
- 49:30Speaker 2: On or Ivan Lewis.
- 49:33Speaker 3: I'd say ivy On, would you?
- 49:35Speaker 2: Or We're gonna call him Ivy because I think that's
- 49:37Speaker 2: a cool nickname. Ivy Lewis was also considering Virginia Tech,
- 49:41Speaker 2: South Carolina. The James Franklin down Virginia Tech. That's a
- 49:45Speaker 2: pretty good get right there, South Carolina, Maryland and Arkansas.
- 49:49Speaker 2: He went to a place called Now you ready for this,
- 49:52Speaker 2: I'm going to be able to pronounce the school correctly
- 49:55Speaker 2: because for five years I lived in Richmond, Virginia, and
- 50:00Speaker 2: when I was a kid, and I loved Richmond.
- 50:04Speaker 3: In Louisville, if you drop me off.
- 50:07Speaker 2: In downtown Richmond, I would swear I'm in I'm in Louisville.
- 50:10Speaker 2: They are very similar in all kinds of ways. I
- 50:15Speaker 2: love Richmond. You talk about place you want to go vacation,
- 50:18Speaker 2: go to Richmond, Virginia and its surround Williamsburg, Virginia, all
- 50:21Speaker 2: that area. It has all kinds of stuff to offer,
- 50:24Speaker 2: not only just historically, but golf courses. Some of the
- 50:29Speaker 2: best golf courses in the country are right around the Richmond,
- 50:32Speaker 2: Virginia Williamsburg area.
- 50:34Speaker 3: Beautiful.
- 50:34Speaker 2: But he went to Huguenot High School in Richmond. So well,
- 50:40Speaker 2: here's the other part that's amazing. Do you realize this
- 50:44Speaker 2: is the fifth straight week in a row that will
- 50:48Speaker 2: Stein has starred, has committed our secured a commitment of
- 50:55Speaker 2: a four star football player.
- 50:57Speaker 3: I mean, he's cooking. There's no doubt about it. He is.
- 50:59Speaker 3: He is absolutely cook.
- 51:02Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know howse to give him a
- 51:04Speaker 2: compliment other than you're exactly correct. I just I don't
- 51:07Speaker 2: know what else, what other accolades I could say that
- 51:11Speaker 2: would make him feel even better. I mean, five weeks
- 51:14Speaker 2: in a row of getting at least a four star commitment.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Well, and what it's doing is it's given everybody some
- 51:20Speaker 3: confidence too. I mean, did you see what Nick Rouse
- 51:22Speaker 3: put out.
- 51:23Speaker 4: I saw that.
- 51:24Speaker 3: I know, I read this said it's time to say
- 51:26Speaker 3: what needs to be said. Kentucky beats Alabama and week
- 51:29Speaker 3: two that's I know. I don't know that we need
- 51:31Speaker 3: to go that far yet, but I mean, it is
- 51:34Speaker 3: cool to see that we're heading into this football season
- 51:37Speaker 3: and there is some hope. Even though you're faced with
- 51:41Speaker 3: a brutal schedule, there's still that inkling of maybe, just
- 51:45Speaker 3: maybe we could do something here.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Well, this is high school players too, Yeah, and those
- 51:51Speaker 2: don't Yeah, you get give him a couple of years exactly.
- 51:54Speaker 2: So I mean maybe towards the end of the season
- 51:57Speaker 2: they're they're making a difference. But man, it's it's just
- 52:00Speaker 2: fun to talk. Here's what's amazing to me. It's amazing.
- 52:04Speaker 2: Within the months we've talked about since Mark Stoops left,
- 52:09Speaker 2: will Stein was hired, how the culture, how the environment,
- 52:14Speaker 2: how everything is changed surrounding you can oh it's completely different.
- 52:18Speaker 2: And how does that happen? I mean, what did will
- 52:20Speaker 2: Stein do to just completely change that?
- 52:23Speaker 3: I don't think you have to do anything. I mean,
- 52:25Speaker 3: if you're just if you're bringing a new head coach in,
- 52:28Speaker 3: that stuff's just gonna inherently happen. I mean, look at
- 52:31Speaker 3: I hate to always bring them up, but look at Indiana.
- 52:33Speaker 3: They were awful, the worst team in college football history,
- 52:37Speaker 3: and then you bring the right coach in and it's like, damn,
- 52:39Speaker 3: like they flipped a switch overnight. So that's the type
- 52:42Speaker 3: of thing that can happen when you bring in a
- 52:44Speaker 3: new coach is they're gonna implement the way that they
- 52:46Speaker 3: want to do things, and you either buy in or
- 52:49Speaker 3: you don't. If you don't buy in, then probably not
- 52:51Speaker 3: going to be on the team.
- 52:52Speaker 2: So yeah, I would admit, yes, you are correct, because
- 52:55Speaker 2: I would also put Clark Lee in there. Same Yeah, advantat,
- 52:59Speaker 2: But I mean, the most amazing story in the world
- 53:01Speaker 2: they'll make a movie out of it is I you
- 53:04Speaker 2: and Kirk Signetti because it's it's unheard of what he
- 53:10Speaker 2: has done and I you to go from as bad
- 53:13Speaker 2: as they were to a national championship team.
- 53:16Speaker 3: I mean and we're going into this season. I was
- 53:18Speaker 3: telling somebody this a couple of weeks ago. We are
- 53:21Speaker 3: to the point where and I shouldn't say this out loud,
- 53:25Speaker 3: but no, please do. If Indiana loses one game, I'm
- 53:28Speaker 3: gonna be so mad. If we lose one game, I'm
- 53:31Speaker 3: gonna and that's ridiculous. That shouldn't that is ridiculous. Shouldn't
- 53:35Speaker 3: have that mindset. But that's what Kurk Signetti has done
- 53:38Speaker 3: to me. All right?
- 53:39Speaker 2: Uh, would you give up the success of IU football
- 53:44Speaker 2: to get an IU basketball championship team?
- 53:48Speaker 3: Yes? Would you? Really?
- 53:50Speaker 2: You were that committed to basketball and would just throw
- 53:54Speaker 2: away Kirk Signetti and the IU football program for all
- 53:58Speaker 2: he has done the past two years.
- 53:59Speaker 3: Look for as fun as football's been and as much
- 54:02Speaker 3: enjoyment as I've got out of it, nothing means more
- 54:05Speaker 3: in my life from a sports perspective than Indiana basketball.
- 54:08Speaker 3: Really nothing.
- 54:09Speaker 2: Okay, all right, then, well congratulations. I mean I'm amazed
- 54:14Speaker 2: by that. I think I would have a hard time
- 54:16Speaker 2: if UK started wishing winning national titles.
- 54:20Speaker 3: I would have a hard time giving that up. At
- 54:22Speaker 3: least we're winning a title of something. True.
- 54:24Speaker 2: Even though I am I probably lean a little more
- 54:28Speaker 2: towards football. But I love football basketball. I want UK
- 54:32Speaker 2: to win a title every single year. I expect you
- 54:35Speaker 2: to UK to be in the conversation every single year
- 54:39Speaker 2: when it comes to UK winning titles. I get that
- 54:44Speaker 2: because I had that history. Yeah, well exactly, we have
- 54:48Speaker 2: that history. We don't have that history in football. No,
- 54:51Speaker 2: it's well except for what nineteen forties, nineteen fifties whenever
- 54:55Speaker 2: that was, Yeah, when they.
- 54:58Speaker 3: I don't. I mean I hear the names.
- 55:02Speaker 2: I mean, Babe Perelli and all the different players from
- 55:06Speaker 2: back then, but I don't know who they are. I
- 55:10Speaker 2: mean I know that the reps runs. I think I
- 55:14Speaker 2: was alive then. I know you got the Fab five
- 55:17Speaker 2: or not the Fab.
- 55:19Speaker 3: What was the one? Ralph Beard and all those players.
- 55:23Speaker 3: I don't, I just don't.
- 55:25Speaker 2: I don't identify with those teams. The teams I identify
- 55:28Speaker 2: the most with probably the ninety six, ninety seven, ninety eight, Yeah,
- 55:35Speaker 2: I mean I remember the seventy eighteen. I mean I
- 55:38Speaker 2: still have favorite players from that team. I love Truman Klater,
- 55:41Speaker 2: I loved Levon Williams was my favorite player back in
- 55:45Speaker 2: nineteen seventy eight, even though he didn't even play much
- 55:49Speaker 2: he was. Probably That's probably the reason I liked him,
- 55:51Speaker 2: because he was the underdog. Sure, I love Jack Rick Broke, Mike,
- 55:54Speaker 2: what's that human victory cigar? Absolutely, he's wearing a title.
- 56:01Speaker 2: So I mean, sure, I love Jack Gibbons. Mike Phillips. Uh,
- 56:06Speaker 2: I'm trying to think Rick Roby. I mean, they're a
- 56:11Speaker 2: bunch of cow macy.
- 56:13Speaker 8: Hey.
- 56:13Speaker 3: By the way, ring culture has gotten out of control.
- 56:16Speaker 3: What do you mean by reen culture? Just everybody getting
- 56:19Speaker 3: So this all started this weekend when one of my buddies,
- 56:23Speaker 3: his daughter won some softball tournament and they all had
- 56:26Speaker 3: these huge rings. Actually, no, I think they got second.
- 56:29Speaker 3: They got second and got these huge rings. And then
- 56:32Speaker 3: I run across an Indiana football guy. They got four rings, Michael. Four.
- 56:40Speaker 3: I'm guessing one for the Big Ten championship, one for
- 56:43Speaker 3: winning the regular season, one for every bowl win that
- 56:47Speaker 3: they got along the way to the championship.
- 56:49Speaker 2: Oh that's it right there. Yeah, they had so they
- 56:52Speaker 2: had a ring on every finger. But they won those
- 56:55Speaker 2: bowl games, the playoffs, bowl game. I don't I have
- 57:00Speaker 2: a problem with it. I think it's great.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Too many rings, I would want it freaking Justin's money,
- 57:06Speaker 3: all right, So if Tom Brady said, you know, justin
- 57:09Speaker 3: I'm going to give you my rings because you were
- 57:11Speaker 3: a part of this team, you would say, no, no,
- 57:12Speaker 3: I'm good, I don't need more rings. I would take it.
- 57:15Speaker 3: I mean, that's a special accept I love how you oh,
- 57:17Speaker 3: special acception. That's a Tom Brady ring. You know how
- 57:20Speaker 3: much money I could make for selling that bad boy?
- 57:23Speaker 2: That's good lord, out of the goodness of his heart.
- 57:26Speaker 2: He's giving it to you. All you're thinking about doing
- 57:28Speaker 2: is sell it.
- 57:28Speaker 3: I'm looking at it as an investment from Tom. Okay, well,
- 57:32Speaker 3: good for you. I mean, just tell Tom to give
- 57:34Speaker 3: you some money. Okay he wants to. I'm here for
- 57:37Speaker 3: it all right. There there was a clip I saw
- 57:40Speaker 3: over the weekend. I didn't see it live, but UFL
- 57:43Speaker 3: is doing some things that I think are really inspiring,
- 57:46Speaker 3: and I hope it becomes inspiring towards the NFL. I
- 57:51Speaker 3: told you, I asked you to bring it up, and
- 57:53Speaker 3: I want you to play this. So here's what's happening.
- 57:56Speaker 3: There is a mid game interview about a close call,
- 58:02Speaker 3: and the interview is interviewing one of the UFL officials.
- 58:05Speaker 3: Go ahead and play it.
- 58:06Speaker 8: Okay, here we go, Phil Daley own to have some
- 58:09Speaker 8: conversations with Ricky Proll about a penalty or not a
- 58:12Speaker 8: penalty with these contested throws, especially to Hakeem.
- 58:15Speaker 3: How do you judge that throws.
- 58:17Speaker 8: A back shoulder and I'm looking at that and you know,
- 58:19Speaker 8: and there's no material restriction.
- 58:21Speaker 3: I'm just gonna leave it alone, to be honest with you.
- 58:23Speaker 8: So if the throw is not where it should be,
- 58:25Speaker 8: if that throw is not there, you're not going to
- 58:27Speaker 8: reward a poor throw on something like that. You could, yeah,
- 58:30Speaker 8: remembers that works for me. How difficult is that call?
- 58:34Speaker 8: Is that past interference versus contested catch?
- 58:38Speaker 3: I'll be ready, I'll be right back. Wally had officiate
- 58:43Speaker 3: the game, I mean, too many questions right there? Did
- 58:45Speaker 3: he come back as the question? I don't know, but
- 58:48Speaker 3: I doubt it. I doubt that he did because I
- 58:51Speaker 3: thought the last one was a little too much. I'm
- 58:53Speaker 3: all I'm pro Ricky right here, the referee. I thought
- 58:56Speaker 3: he did a great job. Now, uh, you know, because
- 58:59Speaker 3: that's one of the complaints a lot of people are
- 59:02Speaker 3: making when there's a contested throw and the penalty always
- 59:06Speaker 3: goes for the quarterback.
- 59:10Speaker 2: So I got two questions here, do you like the
- 59:13Speaker 2: fact that the referee did not call for the quarterback
- 59:18Speaker 2: and just made it a no call, made it a
- 59:19Speaker 2: football play.
- 59:20Speaker 3: Without seeing the play and just knowing the context close around,
- 59:25Speaker 3: it seems like the right call.
- 59:26Speaker 2: Well, it seems like it happens a lot. It happens
- 59:28Speaker 2: a lot with certain players out there in the NFL,
- 59:30Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes being the number one player, it happens to
- 59:33Speaker 2: a lot. He gets a lot of penalties for that.
- 59:37Speaker 2: So do you like that he didn't do that?
- 59:40Speaker 3: And the second question, do you like that they interviewed
- 59:43Speaker 3: the official in the middle of the game. I am
- 59:46Speaker 3: a big proponent of mid game interviews, whether it's coach,
- 59:51Speaker 3: whether it's player. This is kind of a new concept.
- 59:55Speaker 3: I don't know that I've ever seen an official get
- 59:57Speaker 3: interviewed in the middle of none. I have never in
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: my life seeing an official interviewed period. So the Catholic
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: in me doesn't like it because it's changed and I
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: don't like change. However, if we could make this more
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: normalized and start getting this more frequently, I think it
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: could be something that takes off and could be a
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: good thing. I mean, look, people want officials to answer
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: for their mistakes or non mistake whatever. People just want
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: to hear from the officials. My question is how different
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: does this interview go had he been interviewing after a
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: bad call, maybe calling him out a little bit, Hey,
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: what did you see on that? People think you were
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: making the wrong call. There, that's a road I don't
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: think we could ever go down, because then you're just
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: gonna have officials stop doing interviews completely. But yeah, I mean,
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: if we want to get them behind a mic and
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: let them explain themselves and what they're seeing on a
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: play to play basis, I'm good with it.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Do you feel like this is a little test to
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: see how it goes and maybe in the f L
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: will look at this and think, Okay, this has become
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: hugely popular, maybe we should implement this in our game.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: You don't at all, because I know when you go
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: read the comments, more people love this than not. I
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: loved it, and I think if you don't do it
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: in the middle of the game, I think it's difficult
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: to do in the middle of the game, especially when
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: you got the game going on and he's got a
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: job to do exactly. I think you saved this for
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: after the game and the whole, the whole inter So
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: you said you'd like the interview the coach in the
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: middle of game. I don't. I think it's the most
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: the biggest wasted time. I mean the majority of the time,
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: they're dumb question yeah, yeah, I mean you don't get
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: anything out of it. But of course, so why do
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: it then? If you're not getting anything out of it,
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: then why do it in the.
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: First I just I don't think you can see the
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: emotions on their face sometimes. I don't know. I just
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: I like it. I've always liked that. But now you're
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: you're going down a rabbit hole that we've went before,
- 1:01:53Speaker 3: whereas you're putting officials up on a or behind a microphone,
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: up on a table after games where they have to
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: answer correct that I do want to see. Yeah, and
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: how long do you give them? You make them sit five,
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: ten to fifteen minutes?
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Well, what is a reasonable amount of time that an
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: official should take questions from the media?
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: I think five fair.
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: I think ten minutes is fair. Five minutes is not
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: enough because that guy could just go ahead and take
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: one question and then guess what answer that question?
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: In five minutes? Yeah, but if they called it, how
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: was famous for that. By the way, if they call
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: a clean game, I don't know, you shouldn't need more
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: than five. Well, then he walks off the stage. Nobody
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: else has any more questions. You're out of there.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: But I think you need at least ten minutes, maybe
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: even fifteen, because you don't realize how fast that ten
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: minutes goes by and how long sometimes it'll take to
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: answer one question. Maybe just stall it there the entire time.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: I'm here for it. I do think that needs to
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: be enacted somehow, some way. Just make these officials, umpires whatever,
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: answer for any or any all the calls that they
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: make throughout a game.
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and now I think baseball is correcting itself. I
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: do love and now college sports is getting ready to
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: implement that with the college baseball And that's the OBS
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: is it ABS. I'm sorry, Automatic baseball and strike are
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: automated and I like that. I think it's made it
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: so much cleaner. And this is going to I think
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: this will correct Here's what I think should happen next.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: My suggestion for baseball is that if you have an
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: umpire that misses, you look at the percentage of misses
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: that they have using the ABS if those guys miss,
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: they get a strike on a certain percentage. If they
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: get so many strikes, let's just say they get two
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: or three strikes, then those guys need to exit the game.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Bring up somebody from triple A, double A, doesn't matter
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: where they come from. But start replacing the umpires on
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: a regular basis so you get more consent. And the
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: ones that succeed, guess what, they get a raise. They
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: could stay longer. They need to be held against what
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: they call correctly or don't call correctly, but they should
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: be ruled that way. Angel would have been gone a
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: long time ago if that was implemented.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I mean, even the worst baseball umpires are still what
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: eighty three eighty five percent somewhere in that range forgetting
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: calls correct. That feels like a decent clip. I mean,
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: ideally you'd want that to be up in the nineties.
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: But means that's the fun part about baseball, though. You
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: get that human element or that human error element. But
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: I do think it is correcting itself with the ABO.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: I love it. And that's after replay you enact and
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: replay several years ago as well. So baseball is doing
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: the right things. I think they are that the game
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: is called fair.
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: I think they're being the most progressive out of all
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: the professional sports out there, and I think they've done
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: a tremendous job. The fact that they've made the game
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: a lot faster, people were losing interest because it was
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: so slow.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: I was just gonna say. Baseball also has an advantage
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: though in that regard, because it's the slowest of the sports.
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: Right It's easiest to make changes in baseball because of
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: the pace of the game, whereas every other sport moves
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: so quickly. It's it's hard to figure out what we
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: need to change and what we can address to make
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: it better.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: I would say football is the second slowest game, though.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: If you, yeah, if you added up how much time
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: of actual play, I.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: Bet you it's not as much as you think.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Yeah, those things are taking what three and a half hours,
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: and now baseball some of those games are even less
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: than that, are two hours.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: They're in and out of there until a Reds game
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: earlier this year was like two hours and fifteen maybe exactly.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: You would have been in a football game a lot longer.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: That's almost a little too fast. It's like, well, way, man,
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: I want to enjoy the game a little bit.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Noah, it was three to two one night. They cut
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: me off of my beers way to her.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Oh they did. Oh that's not good. Okay, sorry, fast game.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: I know you should have taken a fireball with you.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: Let's go ahead and take Let's go ahead and take
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: another break. Did you really where did you put it?
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: I had it on the way up, on the way top.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Turn your radio off, Jamie, Oh my I was I
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: wasn't driver. No, I know you weren't driving, and you
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: were the boys after us. But uh, wow, man, okay,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: you brought it yourself or they gave it to you?
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: Brought it myself? Wow? Did you share? Heck no, I'll
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: share a lot of things. Fireballs rarely one of them. Okay,
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: Richard Rigney, I need to introduce you to him. You're
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: you are his. Can you have him to send me
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: like a care package or something?
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Yeah, he would anyway, Let's go ahead and take a break.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Five O two four one four fourteen fifty one. Text
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: on the Whiskey Thief text line. When we come back,
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: I gotta talk about McDonald's because they're driving me nuts.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: We'll get back to your text as well. Five o
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: two four one four fourteen fifty.
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: Well, imagine as I'm pacing the pews in a church
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: corridor and I.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Can help but to hear.
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: No, I can't help but to hear in exchange of words.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: I was getting ready to take my headphones off, but
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: I thought this was another commercial.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: I had no idea this was a song, just a
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: little panic at the disco. Oh is that a panic
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: at the disco? Who is this panic at the disco?
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: That's the name of the band? Okay, good. By the way,
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: we got some breaking news justin yep.
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: University Kentucky football just announced that uh well, uh, you
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: know several there was a commitment. I mean, UK didn't
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: announce it, but let me let me rephrase that. It
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: wasn't UK that announced, but we do have another commitment
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: on the class of twenty twenty seven. Offensive tackle three
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: star Ian Walker has committed to Kentucky out of Burlington Township,
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: New Jersey. This is a huge git and I'll tell
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: you why. Yes, three stars still good, six six, three
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: hundred and five pounds picked UK over Florida, Alabama and
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: Ohio State. Wow, that's when you know it's a huge git.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: Forget the stars. I don't care about stars anymore. It's
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: been years since I cared about stars. I always use
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: the example Josh Allen. That's all you need to know.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Josh Allen barely had any stars. Joshua Hinzellen, Okay, whatever,
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: you know. That's one thing always ticks me off when
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: you say that too. I just want you to know that.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Probably takes him off when you call him Josh Allen
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: because he wants to be known as Joshua Hinesell.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Well, he's Josh Allen, so he is the only Josh
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: Allen I know in the NFL. But this is a
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: huge kit and he put his picture up there and
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: a man. That's again, I realize that they're probably getting
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: some money, but they're still picking Kentucky. Just because you're
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: getting you're giving money, doesn't necessarily mean you're going to.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: Get the players. How are their scholarships left? Is what
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: I mean? I don't know. It feels like we get
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: two or three announcements every single day. It does.
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: It does again the part that blew me away when
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: I was reading about it last night. Yeh, this weekend
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: was the fifth weekend in a row that will Stein
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: and UK football has gotten at least a four star commitment.
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: That's just unheard of for Kentucky. That's unheard of for
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: a lot of teams. Lets you want to talk about basketball,
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: I want to talk about football too.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: They need equal, equal.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Attention and it's deserved. So I don't know if you
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: saw this story or not, but Dan Hurley, you know,
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: coach of the head coach of Yukon. It was on
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: a podcast recently and he admitted that he forgot to
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: buy his wife a birthday president and on his way home,
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: he stopped at a twenty four hour Walmart bought her
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: a card, a Yankee candle, and a George Foreman grill.
- 1:10:18Speaker 3: I'm good with that, are you really? Yeah?
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: I guarantee you if if we had any women listening
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: to this show right now, we do, okay, I would.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: I'd like to know from our lady listeners, all of
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: them that I dearly love that listen to this ridiculous show.
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: I would like to know from you if you would appreciate,
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: appreciate a George firm of what's his name, George Foreman
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: grill or not? Or because I can tell you right
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: now there are certain things you do not buy women
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: on Valentine's Day, birthdays or Christmases, And I have to
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: say one of those things is appliances. Why they just
- 1:11:00Speaker 2: my mom was like, my dad was so happy he
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: bought my mom a washer and dryer one year for
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: her birthday. She was so mad at him for years
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: and she never forgot it. Don't you ever buy me
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: appliances for my birthday?
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: I don't understand why that's so bad, but they just
- 1:11:16Speaker 3: wanted random times throughout the year. By the way, I
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: don't understand the whole George Foreman grill. I kind of
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: thought those had went the way of the Dodo bird.
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: Isn't isn't black the future?
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: Shouldn't he bought her a black sul Oh?
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: That's interesting, you say, because George form is no longer
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: with us, is he didn't he just recently pass away.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: I think he did. Don't worry about looking it up.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: It's not that important now I need to know, all right.
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: I think the card is definitely a must. He did die, yes,
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: her body did, uh, so I think card is I
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: don't care about cards. You don't ever have to buy
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: me a card?
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: I do.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: I will say I'm one of those kind of guys.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: That does like candles candles at Yeah, so I think
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: the Yankee candle is a nice touch, but I don't
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: think the card was necessarily something. I mean, I'm sorry
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: the George Foreman grill.
- 1:12:05Speaker 3: Honestly, I never thought that I would like candles as
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: much as I do.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: Now, all right, Michelle texted, She said, in gigantic capital letters, No,
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: with an exclamation point, grilling is for men, golf clubs
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: or diamonds for me.
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: Oh she's cheap. Wow, diamonds golf clubs. I hope you
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: are being facious, but yeah, she said, absolutely not. Happy
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: Mother's Day, Michelle.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: Yeah, Happy Mother's Day, Michelle. One person, let's see. Patrick
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: texted in said, uh, time flies when you're talking about
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: cats and having fun. Yes, I agree. So anyway, let's
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: talk about McDonald's for a second. McDonald's has made the
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: corporate decision, not just a decision for local McDonald's but
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: all over the world that they are going to start
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: phasing out the self serve drink system. I can see
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: the expression on your face right now. Uh, people watching
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: on YouTube can see the expression on your face net
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: What are your thoughts on this? So I don't think
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: it's as bad as people are making it out to be.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Why is that it's taking control away from you going
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: and refilling your drink before you walk out of the restaurant.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: But it's not like if you take it to the
- 1:13:34Speaker 3: counter and ask for a top off, that they're gonna
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: be like, no, sorry, you can only have one cup.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: They'll still top it off for you. You just you're
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: not gonna have the ability to do it yourself, which
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: I'm okay with. Is it because too many people are
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: coming in later? But it's probably in the day to
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: fill it up. It's probably just people taking advantage of it.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: Hey can I get a water cup? And then they think, yeah,
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: I mean it's look, I hate that were at this point,
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: but in the year twenty twenty six, you really can't
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: trust anybody anymore. And that goes for restaurants as well.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: I was bummed about that. I'm gonna sit here and
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: tell you right now, I don't like it. I'm disappointed.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: It might keep me from going to McDonald's now because
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: good dude, your health will thank you.
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: Well.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: You're exactly correct, But a lot of the reason I
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: go this is a conversation. I think I already had
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: with you. I was telling you I had a conversation
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: with Dale Romans about it last week. He and I
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: are the same. We are so addicted to diet coke.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: It's unhealthy. And he goes, listen, McDonald I started making
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: the comment McDonald's has. He goes, yes, they do, and like,
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: what am I gonna say? He goes, they have the
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: best diet coke. He goes, no, it's not the straw. Well,
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: his explanation was, because they have the diet coke actually
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: comes in aluminum cans delivered there and it stays fresher,
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: and that's his his his explanation.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: For it definitively comes in a big old box. Are
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: you sure? And it's so good because of the straws.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: It's the straw. Okay. Well here, we've put a lot
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: of science into the straws and allowing allowing a certain
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: amount of carbonation to come. Yeah, there's it's it's all
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: about the straw.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: Okay, all right, then I'm gonna trust the science of
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: the straw. I don't know how anybody can you imagine? Hey, Ded,
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: what are you working on today? I'm doing science on
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: straw for McDonald's. That might be the most embarrassing thing
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: I've heard.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: In my life. I mean, everybody will say the same,
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: Like I I think McDonald's coke is the best coke.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: I've heard people say McDonald's has the best sprite. I'm
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: not a sprite fan, but I've heard that as well.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: So yeah, it is. It's something to do with the straw.
- 1:15:45Speaker 3: The straw telling. Somebody is going to have to explain
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: that one to me. I might have to do some
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: I am do you always give me homework? That's your homewarks,
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: Michael Bennett, come back, tell me what you learned yesterday.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: It's my show. You don't give me homework, it's my show. Okay,
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: I give you the homework that you never do. You
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: would have flunked this class long ago, but I'm still
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: allowing you to be in this class.
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: So I'm still in college.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: Godg yeah, yeah, yeah, well you in a lot of
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: areas you are still in college. Just to let you know, okay,
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: and uh man, we gotta stop some of that stuff there,
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: all right, we gotta go. I hope all the ladies
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: had a great Mom's day out there, that our mom's
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: out there, and I appreciate you listening to the show.
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: We certainly have fun, but everybody have a great day.
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: We'll see you tomorrow on just a cat.
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: No, it's much better to fa
- 1:16:34Speaker 5: Shine
