- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always. Hello, and welcome
- 0:19Speaker 1: back to another episode of Star Wars onlines. Of course,
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm your host, Clay and with me like always. Of
- 0:26Speaker 1: course is Katie, Katie, how you doing?
- 0:31Speaker 2: I'm okay. I had botox and otherwise it's been a
- 0:34Speaker 2: very long day, so I'm already talk about this show.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Let's have on.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I have had a day within myself any as well,
- 0:43Speaker 1: so I am right there with you. I've been kind
- 0:46Speaker 1: of not necessarily pulling teeth, pulling hair a little bit today,
- 0:50Speaker 1: and so I am also ready to talk about this show.
- 0:55Speaker 1: And guys, looking at everything, there is not much news.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So we will go ahead and jump right into mall
- 1:04Speaker 1: Shadow Lord episodes one and two.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Let's do this. I'm excited.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Also, yeah, I do have to confirm just so that
- 1:14Speaker 1: way I'm prepared for next week. It's another Monday drop, right,
- 1:17Speaker 1: This entire season is dropping, Okay, okay, I just wanted
- 1:22Speaker 1: to double check. So episodes one and two, Katie, was
- 1:29Speaker 1: this beginning I'll just start this right off the bat.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Was this beginning of the show up to your expectations?
- 1:40Speaker 1: Did it exceed expectations? Were you expecting something more like?
- 1:45Speaker 1: How do you how do you feel about how this
- 1:48Speaker 1: is already getting started.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I really am enjoying the different genre. I feel like
- 1:56Speaker 2: that we've stepped into. It feels very and or s
- 2:00Speaker 2: in animation form, almost in like the Spy Thrailer. Kind
- 2:06Speaker 2: of feel like we're getting that Braeler underworld crime vibe,
- 2:11Speaker 2: and I'm kind of digging it. I need to watch
- 2:14Speaker 2: it in a different headspace because this week has just
- 2:16Speaker 2: been very long. But I've watched it twice and I
- 2:20Speaker 2: enjoyed it both times. There's a lot of new ones
- 2:25Speaker 2: in detail, and I am loving the brushstroke animation that
- 2:33Speaker 2: has been the upgrade Oh yeah animation style.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It really does add flavor to the backgrounds. I am
- 2:41Speaker 1: just now opening the or watching the opening scene, the
- 2:44Speaker 1: chase and everything else after the heist, and you can
- 2:48Speaker 1: definitely see the more brushstroke esquelness of the Yeah. I
- 2:57Speaker 1: really did like this first two episodes as well. I
- 3:01Speaker 1: really liked the introduction to Maul in the very first episode.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I like playing alongside there as well. I really really
- 3:17Speaker 1: loved all of it. Now, from what we are seeing,
- 3:25Speaker 1: this is very much for now a revenge story. Mall
- 3:32Speaker 1: is on the hunt for all of those who betrayed him,
- 3:38Speaker 1: double crossed him, and put him in the position that
- 3:41Speaker 1: he's currently in, and that is basically all of the
- 3:45Speaker 1: crime lords. He does mention uh, Crimson down as well.
- 3:52Speaker 1: We have a mention of Crimson Dawn, and I do
- 3:55Speaker 1: think this conversation can be enveloped in both episodes. Honestly,
- 4:00Speaker 1: we don't have to break down episode one and episode two.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I do think that we can talk overall, because honestly,
- 4:09Speaker 1: a part of me thinks, why wasn't this just one
- 4:11Speaker 1: very long episode? You know, it could have been just
- 4:16Speaker 1: one long episode.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Animation can be longer than thirty minutes.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yes it can, but I need my emotional support. I
- 4:30Speaker 1: do like the direction that we're going with mall. Now
- 4:36Speaker 1: that being said, we open up mostly open up with
- 4:43Speaker 1: ma already talking about visions of an apprentice. This is
- 4:50Speaker 1: already very interesting because of course we know the new
- 4:53Speaker 1: character is in episode one with her master. I dug
- 5:01Speaker 1: every part of the dynamic of these two. We see
- 5:05Speaker 1: that I'm trying to remember her name, Devony, excuse me.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Devon has such a different way of thinking when it
- 5:18Speaker 1: comes to the situation her and her master yep, they're
- 5:22Speaker 1: on the streets, they're hungry. You know, they're they're not
- 5:27Speaker 1: gonna miss any food, you know, type of idea. And
- 5:31Speaker 1: he's like, oh, well, of course you're hungry, but we
- 5:34Speaker 1: can always rely on the goodness of strangers.
- 5:37Speaker 3: And somebody calls them and she tries to steal food
- 5:45Speaker 3: and she has to go to jail for it.
- 5:48Speaker 1: She she gets apprehended. This does introduce us to the
- 5:58Speaker 1: UH police force on this planet.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Yep, very robotic, very by the book situation here there
- 6:07Speaker 2: is no leeway involved. It doesn't matter if oh, she'll
- 6:12Speaker 2: pay for it, like it'll be fine, Like no, you
- 6:15Speaker 2: still go straight to jail, do not pass out. I
- 6:21Speaker 2: am digging the voice actor. I think it's still this.
- 6:25Speaker 2: It's only the guy, is it the guy? No? So
- 6:31Speaker 2: Richard Ayode is two Boots, but I don't know if
- 6:35Speaker 2: he plays every droid. I'm digging the voice actor for
- 6:38Speaker 2: the droids.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Yes, yes, And I love the random name of two Boots.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I don't know what I just I just love it.
- 6:49Speaker 1: We are also introduced to Captain Lawson. Captain Lawson is
- 7:00Speaker 1: by the book, but also it seems to be he
- 7:02Speaker 1: is a little bit what's the word.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I'm looking for feeling to be flexible.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Very flexible. He is flexible, but he is not. So
- 7:17Speaker 1: we love the Empire, you know, very much wants to.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Keep it out. And now, remember guys, we've only been
- 7:26Speaker 2: a year after the Clone Wars at this point. So
- 7:28Speaker 2: I found it absolutely hysterical when two boots are showing, uh, lawson,
- 7:35Speaker 2: look a laser sword.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I haven't seen that since the Clone Wars.
- 7:40Speaker 2: What like it should wow like this first one, since
- 7:48Speaker 2: the Clone Wars would have been better, Like.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no, that that would make more sense. I
- 7:56Speaker 1: guess it really depends on how far out this planet
- 8:00Speaker 1: is to like more of the core worlds. I guess I.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Wouldn't say it matters, but it all depends on me.
- 8:10Speaker 1: It all depends on how recently that planet was visited
- 8:15Speaker 1: by anybody with a lightsaber. Though, like I would assume
- 8:21Speaker 1: there was some parts of the galaxy that kind of
- 8:26Speaker 1: went in and out of the Clone Wars. You know,
- 8:29Speaker 1: sometimes they would be held as basis, sometimes they wouldn't.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Sometimes they would help the separatists, sometimes they wouldn't. Sometimes
- 8:36Speaker 1: they would help the Republic, you know, things like that.
- 8:40Speaker 1: But I would assume at some point this planet probably
- 8:44Speaker 1: had a time where they were not involved with the
- 8:47Speaker 1: Clone Wars at all, So whenever the last time they
- 8:51Speaker 1: had somebody with a lightsaber on their planet would be that, like, oh,
- 8:56Speaker 1: I haven't seen that since the Clone Wars. That's probably
- 9:00Speaker 1: been a little bit longer than a year.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Yeah. So Wikipedia only says that it says Jenics was
- 9:09Speaker 2: a planet that existed in the galaxy away from the
- 9:13Speaker 2: core worlds. I don't know what that means. It was like,
- 9:17Speaker 2: it's outside the core worlds question mark.
- 9:20Speaker 1: So I would assume if you look at the galaxy map,
- 9:24Speaker 1: there is, of course the giant cluster of planets that
- 9:30Speaker 1: are a part of like genuine Core. You look at
- 9:34Speaker 1: coresot and everything around it. I really look at it
- 9:38Speaker 1: as like rings, you could really say, and the more
- 9:44Speaker 1: you go out is away from the core worlds.
- 9:48Speaker 2: So yeah, I would say it's probably Inner Rim. Maybe
- 9:51Speaker 2: it's not. It's not currently on the galaxy.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Map, Okay, okay.
- 10:00Speaker 2: People, if people are interested and don't want to pull
- 10:03Speaker 2: up the map, you have deep Core Core. Okay, it
- 10:07Speaker 2: could be Colonies. Colonies is actually before Interim. I miss
- 10:10Speaker 2: that expansion region mid Rim, and then you have Outer Rim,
- 10:17Speaker 2: Bufan Space and then Hut Space. Yeah, and the Bathan
- 10:24Speaker 2: Space and Hut Space are kind of within the outer rim.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Uh but yeah, I.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Would probably say it's either colonies or inner Rim.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah, if people.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Wanted to picture it, which the colonies has like Nimoidia, Karta,
- 10:46Speaker 2: the Stoon, Cato Naimoiti. I already said, Cato Niemodia. Oh,
- 10:50Speaker 2: there's Naimodia, and then there's Cato Naiemodia excuse me, fondor
- 10:58Speaker 2: and then Jack who like in the interim you have
- 11:01Speaker 2: Jack who, uh that's the only one. Oh, Billy bring
- 11:06Speaker 2: me is another one in the interim. So just kind
- 11:10Speaker 2: of give a people the idea where that was a
- 11:13Speaker 2: lot of information. Probably nobody cares about that.
- 11:16Speaker 1: But but but the the two uh crime lords that
- 11:23Speaker 1: are being dealt with in this first two episodes is
- 11:29Speaker 1: Demus and such as an Inn Barrio Varrio. I thought,
- 11:36Speaker 1: I don't know why I said, started with an Inn
- 11:39Speaker 1: Nico Demis and then Varrio now Varrio. I will say,
- 11:51Speaker 1: I was not expecting the fish from freaking uh uh
- 11:58Speaker 1: uh oh what a that animated movie with Will Ferrell
- 12:02Speaker 1: where he's the super villain. Uh oh no, no, no, no, no,
- 12:10Speaker 1: he he is. There is an actual super villain movie.
- 12:15Speaker 2: It is with Lego, the Lego movie.
- 12:21Speaker 1: No, no, if you haven't seen this super villain movie,
- 12:28Speaker 1: it is Megamind, Megamind. Have you seen Megamind before?
- 12:33Speaker 2: Nope?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna show you this fish from Megamind and
- 12:40Speaker 1: you tell me this is not the character that we
- 12:47Speaker 1: just watched on this season or this first episode. Also,
- 12:53Speaker 1: that is a point of conversation. This did get a
- 12:56Speaker 1: second season.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Yes, because we talked about that last week. Varrio and
- 13:03Speaker 2: Demus are both original characters to the show. They have
- 13:07Speaker 2: appeared in the comic.
- 13:08Speaker 1: But yeah, that is basically that is basically Barrio, and
- 13:16Speaker 1: he is just a fish in a robot body, which
- 13:19Speaker 1: is basically what Barrio is. He is a little a
- 13:24Speaker 1: little alien species that uses a giant piece of armor
- 13:28Speaker 1: to make him look bigger, which I thought was absolutely hilarious.
- 13:33Speaker 1: So Varrio, he is the one that comes up on
- 13:39Speaker 1: top whenever it comes to him and Demus. Yes, and
- 13:46Speaker 1: I do like the line you never shoot somebody in
- 13:49Speaker 1: the back, or you always shoot him in the front,
- 13:52Speaker 1: something like that. But in the Chaos, he actually does
- 13:57Speaker 1: get captured by this police force and he is detained
- 14:04Speaker 1: in a cell right across from Devin Devon. This is
- 14:10Speaker 1: very important for the whole thing because when they get
- 14:15Speaker 1: to a jail breakout, because Mal does want Vrio for
- 14:22Speaker 1: information and everything else. Yep, that's when Maul notices Uh Devon.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I keep forgetting.
- 14:33Speaker 2: It was very drawn to her mm hmm, like steps
- 14:38Speaker 2: that the like breathing that Sam Witward does here. It's
- 14:41Speaker 2: strange to talk about breathing, but he just is so
- 14:45Speaker 2: mall Like.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I love that entire scene because it is so like uncomfortable.
- 14:54Speaker 1: It's so anxiety feeled. You can feel like you can
- 15:00Speaker 1: cut the air with a knife yep in that scene
- 15:04Speaker 1: and I love it.
- 15:05Speaker 2: And it's so well done from the voice actors involved
- 15:10Speaker 2: in the animation team, like this is gorgeous. Like the
- 15:16Speaker 2: way that Maul's lightsaber is moving and showcasing like we
- 15:21Speaker 2: talked about in the Clone Wars and in Bad Badge,
- 15:25Speaker 2: the lightsabers are a little funky. Nah they fixed now
- 15:28Speaker 2: they fixed it is.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I love the smoothness of the lightsaber, especially with the
- 15:38Speaker 1: brushstrokes animation here. I think it does do it very
- 15:42Speaker 1: very good justice. But with the now rescue quote unquote
- 15:52Speaker 1: of Varrio, they take Devin, they escape, they imprison her,
- 16:00Speaker 1: and Maul basically starts to kind of, Hey, you're gonna
- 16:06Speaker 1: see how the world is. You're gonna see how the
- 16:08Speaker 1: universe is, you know, kind of getting into her head
- 16:12Speaker 1: a little bit. We do get to see some of
- 16:17Speaker 1: the strength of her Master.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Pause. You might want to turn off the show because
- 16:24Speaker 2: it's flashing a lot on your face right now.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Can you actually like see the.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I can't see it, but the colors are flashing, especially
- 16:36Speaker 2: like on your mic stand and in your glasses like visually.
- 16:42Speaker 1: I mean, we can't like technically get in trouble for that.
- 16:48Speaker 2: No, I'm just saying it's very distracting.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, it's in the middle of the chase scene.
- 16:53Speaker 1: That's kind of why it's all flashy and crazy right now.
- 16:58Speaker 1: But uh, we get to see a little bit of
- 17:01Speaker 1: the strength of her Master m hm, which I thought
- 17:07Speaker 1: I recognized the voice.
- 17:09Speaker 2: We knew he was going to be here, So I
- 17:11Speaker 2: don't know why we recognized we knew he was cast
- 17:14Speaker 2: as the Master, did we really? Yes?
- 17:19Speaker 1: I didn't know. I must have forgot about it.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I don't think we talked about it in the trailer
- 17:25Speaker 2: because I don't think we heard him, but we knew
- 17:27Speaker 2: he was cast, and that he was playing the Master.
- 17:30Speaker 2: It's all State guy guy or the All State guy
- 17:34Speaker 2: before the Crazy Guy.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yes, apparently I did not know this. He also was
- 17:45Speaker 1: a really big fan of the bad Batch. Oh yes,
- 17:51Speaker 1: there's an article out there. I need to go find
- 17:53Speaker 1: it again. Apparently he was a big fan of the
- 17:58Speaker 1: Clone Wars and the bad Batch. And I'm not entirely
- 18:03Speaker 1: sure who started the conversations to get him on this show,
- 18:06Speaker 1: but he is a fan of animated Star Wars. So yeah,
- 18:11Speaker 1: I think it's amazing that they got him. And he
- 18:15Speaker 1: he has such a like a baritone like deep voice,
- 18:19Speaker 1: and it is like such a like Jedi master tone.
- 18:26Speaker 1: It really really is. So I do like that about him,
- 18:33Speaker 1: you know, I do like Captain Lawson as a character.
- 18:37Speaker 1: But he does seem to now that you've mentioned the
- 18:40Speaker 1: whole thing about like, oh, I would say that's just
- 18:43Speaker 1: the Clone Wars now looking back, he does seem a
- 18:46Speaker 1: little bit aloof because there's even a moment where uh
- 18:52Speaker 1: Devin's Master is holding up a bridge with the Force
- 18:56Speaker 1: and he walks up to him. He's like no, He goes, hey,
- 18:59Speaker 1: are you okay there? Man?
- 19:01Speaker 3: Like, did you not know what's going on here.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Do you not see what he is doing? So, I
- 19:15Speaker 1: don't know, I don't know. Maybe he's a little bit
- 19:18Speaker 1: over his head on this whole endeavor with now probably
- 19:23Speaker 1: trying to capture Mall and all of this stuff. But
- 19:30Speaker 1: we'll see, we will see.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Yeah. I feel like his captain is going to force
- 19:38Speaker 2: in like the Empire call, like they're gonna make the call,
- 19:43Speaker 2: especially after uh the second episode. Can we talk about
- 19:49Speaker 2: Spybot for a second, because I had no idea that
- 19:52Speaker 2: I love it.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I feel like somebody who he I was gonna say,
- 19:59Speaker 1: he he is somebody who could actually like make Chopper sweat.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I feel like, oh, yeah, you put you put Spybot
- 20:16Speaker 1: and Chopper in a room together. That's insane, that would
- 20:21Speaker 1: be insane.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I love it. I was cackling every time he was
- 20:28Speaker 2: on screen because I was like, Oh, what's he gonna do? Now,
- 20:31Speaker 2: what's he gonna do?
- 20:32Speaker 1: A blast? I do. I do like that he actually talks.
- 20:35Speaker 1: It's not just in uh uh you know ones and
- 20:40Speaker 1: zeros that he talks binary. He actually speaks. It's in
- 20:45Speaker 1: a very like gurgling type of you know, yeah word esque, yes, yes,
- 20:54Speaker 1: but he does talk, and he has a little bit
- 20:58Speaker 1: of an attitude, so I do like him for that.
- 21:02Speaker 1: I do like him. He is a Swiss army knife
- 21:06Speaker 1: of tools and gadgets and stuff. He is able to slice,
- 21:11Speaker 1: he is able to defend himself with a blaster like
- 21:14Speaker 1: you said, and of course he can also be a
- 21:18Speaker 1: camera for security. So yep, very very handy for Mal
- 21:23Speaker 1: and his crew. But also speaking of his crew, I
- 21:28Speaker 1: do want to mention the tinfoil hat rumor in Conspiracy
- 21:35Speaker 1: that the Internet has now thrown out. I did share
- 21:39Speaker 1: it with Katie. We have to see more of the
- 21:41Speaker 1: show to actually even consider this being a thing, but
- 21:44Speaker 1: I thought it was fun enough.
- 21:47Speaker 2: I do think it's it's fun because it could be
- 21:51Speaker 2: so the rumor in question, guys, is that is roop
- 21:55Speaker 2: cast the Armorer. I don't know about this, but it
- 22:00Speaker 2: could be the she decides, oh, I need to pay
- 22:05Speaker 2: penance for working with Mal, so therefore I must adamantly
- 22:10Speaker 2: commit to this route of being a Mandalorian m H.
- 22:15Speaker 2: And could have reforged her helmet and all that stuff,
- 22:18Speaker 2: because the helmets are definitely very different, and I need
- 22:25Speaker 2: to compare it to the Armorer's voice. But I feel
- 22:29Speaker 2: like I need to go back here's what I need
- 22:31Speaker 2: to do. I need to go back to the Clone
- 22:33Speaker 2: Wars and hear what rook Cast was sounding like. Then
- 22:37Speaker 2: mm hmm, hear the armorer, and then hear what Vanessa
- 22:43Speaker 2: Marshall is doing as rook Cast now, because if they
- 22:48Speaker 2: made that decision, okay, I could see it.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Yeah, So I think it's an interesting theory. Again, we'll
- 22:56Speaker 1: have to see that. We'll have to watch to see.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Now the the theory is coming out of I think
- 23:02Speaker 1: some sort of like art of book that is out
- 23:08Speaker 1: there basically describing the armor that the armorer is wearing
- 23:16Speaker 1: and how it resembles a little bit what Cast is
- 23:22Speaker 1: currently in this show. So it's very shoddy at best.
- 23:28Speaker 1: So we'll see how it goes. Going kind of into
- 23:35Speaker 1: more of the second episode. In the end of this
- 23:37Speaker 1: conversation we now know, of course, mal is onto more
- 23:46Speaker 1: of his hit list, you know, now moving towards the
- 23:49Speaker 1: pikes where also Devin is looking to escape, and that
- 23:58Speaker 1: is kind of like the end of her story. It's
- 24:00Speaker 1: where the episode kind of ends.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yep.
- 24:03Speaker 1: She is able to use the force in her containment
- 24:06Speaker 1: to basically push away the cylinder that she is in
- 24:13Speaker 1: because there was already a gap, and so she opens it.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Now she is free and she can go about doing whatever. Now,
- 24:21Speaker 1: the question is is she actually going to escape or
- 24:26Speaker 1: is she going to stick around because of her curiousness
- 24:30Speaker 1: of Mom?
- 24:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know, you know that Mom knew that
- 24:34Speaker 2: that gap was there, and he could have easily put
- 24:39Speaker 2: her in the opposite container. Yeah, so this is all employee.
- 24:45Speaker 2: So we'll have to see what happens next week at
- 24:50Speaker 2: A'll be very interesting to see, But I would agree,
- 24:53Speaker 2: I don't know if she's going to stick around. We
- 24:56Speaker 2: know from the trailer that she has more conversations with
- 25:00Speaker 2: her master about what Mal is trying to do, So
- 25:04Speaker 2: I feel like Mall and her are going to have
- 25:06Speaker 2: a conversation that she then brings to her master and
- 25:10Speaker 2: kind of goes, well what do we do from here
- 25:13Speaker 2: kind of thing.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, it'll be interesting to see what kind of
- 25:18Speaker 1: involvement her master wants to be put in, because he
- 25:21Speaker 1: has already put himself out there to save others, but
- 25:25Speaker 1: is he really going to be out Is he wanting
- 25:27Speaker 1: to put himself out there to save these crime lords
- 25:32Speaker 1: against Mall specifically, you know, yeah? Or is he going
- 25:36Speaker 1: to say, hey, this is not like something we need
- 25:39Speaker 1: to be putting ourselves into. Because another part of the
- 25:43Speaker 1: episode was him following Captain Lawson, So he is.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Somewhat let me go grab the baby monitor guys.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all good. He is is showing interest in
- 26:03Speaker 1: possibly helping Lawson with Maul. But to what extent is
- 26:09Speaker 1: my thing? Like, I would like to know, because he
- 26:15Speaker 1: already knows the dangers of putting himself out there. Of
- 26:18Speaker 1: course it's after sixty six. He could easily be apprehended
- 26:23Speaker 1: and killed on site. But he's making an effort to
- 26:30Speaker 1: show interest in this whole debacle by following Lawson. So
- 26:36Speaker 1: is he following Lawson more so to just find Devin
- 26:40Speaker 1: or is he following Lawson because he's interesting in helping
- 26:44Speaker 1: out with mal.
- 26:46Speaker 2: That would be the big question, because he seemed very
- 26:51Speaker 2: much of the mindset that he still wants to help people.
- 26:55Speaker 2: He doesn't want to draw.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Attention though, yes, exactly.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Hence why he's like, we'll figure out somebody to pay, like,
- 27:03Speaker 2: no need to panic. So yeah, it it's definitely intriguing
- 27:12Speaker 2: because I wonder if he goes why I'm just a
- 27:14Speaker 2: helpful person m hm, but he knows, hey, this guy's
- 27:19Speaker 2: a police officer, so he could call him the Empire
- 27:23Speaker 2: at any point and really messed my life up m.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Exactly. So we'll see how it goes. And honestly, there's
- 27:37Speaker 1: much There's not much else to this episode.
- 27:44Speaker 2: This is definitely a lot of set up, kind of
- 27:49Speaker 2: get you running with the characters that are here. Not
- 27:54Speaker 2: really a great introduction, I would say, because we're hitting
- 27:57Speaker 2: the ground running, there's like, well, we're gonna build to
- 28:01Speaker 2: it basically like this is starting very Clone Wars esque
- 28:05Speaker 2: versus Bad Batch or Rebels, where okay, we kind of
- 28:10Speaker 2: did something minor to get us all introduced to the characters.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that is very interesting. Honestly, we
- 28:20Speaker 1: the last few projects that we have seen with animation,
- 28:23Speaker 1: Star Wars, that being bad Batch, and of course season
- 28:27Speaker 1: seven of Clone Wars, is this idea of hey, we
- 28:34Speaker 1: were introduced, like season seven of Clone Wars introduced bad Batch. Yeah,
- 28:41Speaker 1: and then backdoor Pilot backdoor pilot exactly. There is none
- 28:46Speaker 1: of that for Mall, and I think more so because
- 28:50Speaker 1: of the reason of everybody knows Mall. Everybody knows like,
- 28:54Speaker 1: why would you even need to do that with Maw?
- 28:56Speaker 2: And I think that's why they chose to do the
- 28:58Speaker 2: comic two because people are very used to this storytelling elements.
- 29:03Speaker 2: So if it's like, Okay, if you want to know more,
- 29:06Speaker 2: you know who Mal is, you know who brook Cast is.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Because if you're watching the show, you've watched the Clone Wars.
- 29:13Speaker 2: If you want to know more about Lawson and two Boots,
- 29:17Speaker 2: go grab this comic.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think that with the idea like you
- 29:25Speaker 1: would have to genuinely kind of go back to seven
- 29:29Speaker 1: to kind of see where Mal is kind of getting
- 29:33Speaker 1: started with this whole ordeal yep. So in a way
- 29:39Speaker 1: you can be like, oh, well, they kind of did it.
- 29:40Speaker 1: There's just more space between season seven and now. But
- 29:46Speaker 1: I do think there may have needed to be something
- 29:50Speaker 1: more to yade people for this because of how hot
- 29:56Speaker 1: and heavy these two episodes start.
- 29:59Speaker 2: And that's where I thought they were going to use
- 30:01Speaker 2: bad Batch a little bit more effectively, because you could
- 30:04Speaker 2: have easily sent the bad Batch on a mission against
- 30:08Speaker 2: the Shadow Collective or really set up something to say, okay,
- 30:14Speaker 2: you're going again, like Mal's criminal cindicare right here. I
- 30:20Speaker 2: don't think they had named it the Shadow Collective at
- 30:22Speaker 2: that point. I don't really remember, but you could have
- 30:27Speaker 2: easily sent them up against it. That was something that
- 30:29Speaker 2: they were doing and really just kind of set the bar.
- 30:34Speaker 2: We know that Dave Filoni likes to mess around in
- 30:37Speaker 2: this area. You know, he's probably been planning a way
- 30:39Speaker 2: to get Sam Wit We're back involved somehow, so it
- 30:43Speaker 2: makes sense that you would be thinking about that in advance.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Yeah, very much so.
- 30:50Speaker 2: The last thing we have to talk about is the music.
- 30:54Speaker 2: We had the Kiners return for this. What did you
- 30:57Speaker 2: feel about the music?
- 30:59Speaker 1: I thought the music really fit well with every single scene,
- 31:04Speaker 1: whether it be the chase scene, whether it be the
- 31:07Speaker 1: jailbreak scene, whether it be the moments of like Solace
- 31:13Speaker 1: with Devin in her containment or with Lawson talking with
- 31:20Speaker 1: that one woman to get more information on mal and
- 31:24Speaker 1: everything else. I thought the music fit very well throughout
- 31:28Speaker 1: the entire two episodes. Genuinely.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, guys, I'm getting distracted. Matt's out there talking
- 31:37Speaker 2: to someone who I'm like, what are you doing? So, yes,
- 31:42Speaker 2: I feel like the music did really well, and I
- 31:44Speaker 2: like how they picked up previous cues from Mall's past
- 31:48Speaker 2: in Star Wars and used them like we heard duel
- 31:51Speaker 2: the Fates. Oh, fantastic job as always, and I felt
- 31:55Speaker 2: like they shifted the music perfectly to hit this new
- 32:00Speaker 2: vibe from action to three theer.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I kind of feel so yeah. And I do
- 32:08Speaker 1: like Maul as a slumlord, as a crime boss. I
- 32:15Speaker 1: do think he is very well in that position. I
- 32:23Speaker 1: am curious to see how all of that kind of
- 32:28Speaker 1: goes downhill to get him where he's going to be
- 32:31Speaker 1: in Rebels. I'm not entirely sure if we will see
- 32:36Speaker 1: that in this season, because of course, like we said,
- 32:39Speaker 1: this is going to be picked up for a second season,
- 32:43Speaker 1: and so this may just be the beginning and we
- 32:46Speaker 1: see him, you know, at a pretty strong position at
- 32:50Speaker 1: the end of this season. So yeah, we shall see.
- 32:55Speaker 2: And I am the last thing is, so he's talking
- 32:58Speaker 2: about an apprentice, I'm wondering if we're going to potentially
- 33:03Speaker 2: get a picture of his vision on screen where we
- 33:11Speaker 2: get an indication that he's talking.
- 33:13Speaker 1: About Ezra Ezra.
- 33:16Speaker 2: And we get an Ezra clone War's animation style that hmmm,
- 33:26Speaker 2: because we know that he Boloney's already done that with Rebels.
- 33:29Speaker 2: He gave Ezra visions and you had like that vision
- 33:33Speaker 2: texture on screen where he saw things that were going
- 33:35Speaker 2: to happen, things that happened kind of thing. So it
- 33:41Speaker 2: makes me feel like he could potentially do it again
- 33:43Speaker 2: just to try and like tie things up.
- 33:47Speaker 1: But I think this could also help well. I think
- 33:51Speaker 1: doing so would help people who are not as strongly
- 33:55Speaker 1: involved in following every piece of Star Wars content, and
- 34:02Speaker 1: so people would then be like, oh, okay, so this
- 34:06Speaker 1: is connected to this other show that I haven't watched it. Okay,
- 34:08Speaker 1: let's watch this right after this, you know type of feeling.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, Yeah, I think it makes perfect sense. My
- 34:18Speaker 2: only question is they may want to use Devin longer,
- 34:22Speaker 2: so I don't know if they would put that vision
- 34:25Speaker 2: style into season one, just if they want to drag
- 34:30Speaker 2: her into season two a little bit longer, they may
- 34:33Speaker 2: push it to go season two or the end of
- 34:36Speaker 2: the show if it gets a season three, so.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Where it will inevitably die according to Hey, you know,
- 34:50Speaker 1: we'll see, we'll see. I would love I would love
- 34:54Speaker 1: for this show to you know, meet our expectations and
- 34:58Speaker 1: actually hit some of the key points that we have
- 35:01Speaker 1: predicted and go longer than three seasons because we love content,
- 35:06Speaker 1: you know, more content for the podcast. So I would
- 35:11Speaker 1: love it. I would love it, But we we probably
- 35:15Speaker 1: most likely we'll see this show in with three seasons.
- 35:21Speaker 2: I'm made claysthenic now that I told him Disney Secret.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I know like that now, my like you've opened
- 35:29Speaker 1: my third eye and now it just makes all it
- 35:31Speaker 1: all makes sense now.
- 35:32Speaker 2: So that's why Daredevil's only gonna get three seasons. Three
- 35:37Speaker 2: Right now you have Daredevil Born Again and then you
- 35:40Speaker 2: have Daredevil Born Born Again.
- 35:45Speaker 1: That's not out of work. Okay, Oh my goodness, well guys,
- 35:53Speaker 1: I do believe that is the end of the episode.
- 35:58Speaker 1: We will be back next week talking about episode three
- 36:03Speaker 1: of mal of course, we are gonna be talking nothing
- 36:06Speaker 1: but mall for the next month, so sorry, guys, it's.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Just unless you're following us on Patreon. Yes, se Ultimate

- 36:42Speaker 1: so keep that on the radar. But yeah, with that, guys,
- 36:47Speaker 1: of course, you can find me at Fanboy Clay mostly

- 37:13Speaker 1: like previous like warning or whatnot, because I celebrated Easter
- 37:18Speaker 1: on Saturday and I just stupidly assume that everybody had
- 37:24Speaker 1: Easter on Saturday. I so right after work on Sunday,
- 37:27Speaker 1: I was like, hey, Jake, let's get ready to record.
- 37:30Speaker 1: He's like, today is Easter. I was like, crap, it's
- 37:34Speaker 1: for everybody else. So being an old.

- 38:25Speaker 2: the rest of April and the first week of May,
- 38:29Speaker 2: where hopefully we will have some fantastic news and then
- 38:33Speaker 2: get into our preview for the Mandalorian Grogu, which, guys,
- 38:38Speaker 2: we have put it on the calendar. We are going
- 38:42Speaker 2: to be talking. We are going to be reviewing the
- 38:44Speaker 2: Mandalorian and Grogu movie on May twenty second at eight
- 38:49Speaker 2: pm Eastern Standard time on the first YouTube channel where
- 38:52Speaker 2: you're here right now, if you're here with us live

- 38:57Speaker 2: on your calendar where we will be talking all things
- 39:01Speaker 2: about the movie. We'll do like we typically do or
- 39:04Speaker 2: we have we'll do like we typically do with books,
- 39:08Speaker 2: where we kind of do a non spoiler section and
- 39:10Speaker 2: then we'll jump into a spoiler section. So that way
- 39:15Speaker 2: you can have it both ways. So yeah, put that
- 39:18Speaker 2: on your calendar. Make it happen, be there or be
- 39:21Speaker 2: square as that the folks say. So with that, I
