- 3:38I did a little pop up back in I think it was October.

- 3:47We're here. How have you guys been? How has how's life been?
- 3:53Has life been life in? Because life has been lifing for me.
- 3:57So if life has been lifing for me, I am I'm quite sure it
- 4:00has been lifing for you as well. I just want to give a big
- 4:06shout out and a big thank you to my crew podcast family for holding it
- 4:13down for me while I was going through my process. You guys are amazing.
- 4:18You guys are awesome. It's great to work with people that are like
- 4:25minded and that support you. In anything that you have going on, that's
- 4:31willing to pray with you, pray for you. You know, twenty twenty
- 4:35three was a weird year. It started off great, great opportunities came and
- 4:44then it just went a little weird and chaotic. But nevertheless, we're here
- 4:50and we're getting ready to enter into twenty twenty four and next week. So
- 4:56you know, I'm glad to be here, glad to be with you guys,
- 5:00and we're just gonna talk a little bit about what does the holidays mean.
- 5:06You know, for so many people, the holiday time can be an
- 5:11exciting time for them, or it can be a sad time. It could
- 5:15be a time of reflection. It could be a time where you know,
- 5:18you just if you have kids, you know you have to go and do
- 5:24the Christmas shopping and the hustle and bustle and waiting. Or some people start
- 5:29their Christmas shopping rural early. Some people don't, you know. I remember
- 5:34for me, when my kids were little, I waited till like that ninety
- 5:39ninth hour to go and Christmas shop. But as you get older and as
- 5:44you go through things in life, you realize is much more than just buying
- 5:49things. It's much more than cooking a big meal or going to see like
- 5:55your favorite attraction or whatever it may be. The holiday times have a sentimental
- 6:03and a sentimental, a spiritual, and just a time for you to understand
- 6:13what that gift of Christmas is. You know, so many of us,
- 6:17whether you're religious or not, we've heard of the Christmas story. We know
- 6:24about the baby Jesus being born in the manger and the wise men coming to
- 6:28see him. But you have to also understand that it is not It's something
- 6:35that you have to understand and appreciate for yourself. You know, just hearing
- 6:41it is not just enough, but sitting down and understanding what really took place
- 6:46in that time, it gives you a sense of well, if my heavenly
- 6:55Father or whoever you may worship, or you identify as your creative if they
- 7:00can give me this kind of love, how about I give that kind of
- 7:05love back to those that's around me. You know, we go through so
- 7:12much on a daily basis. Every day, if we're going to work,
- 7:15we have to be kind to the people we work with, even if we
- 7:18don't want to be kind to them, we have to be kind. You
- 7:24know, we have our family members sometimes you may not always get along,
- 7:29but you have to be able to understand what it means to give that unconditional
- 7:34love and show that unconditional love. And that's part of what Christmas means.
- 7:41Unconditional love, giving of yourself, giving when you don't want to or you
- 7:47don't know how to give, but giving in that way that somehow and sometimes
- 7:54is just mind blowing and you don't know how to you know, that's what
- 8:01Christmas means. Well for me at least, that's what Christmas means. You
- 8:07know, this Christmas is a little different. It's a little bit more sentimental
- 8:13for me because this of everything that I've dealt with. But it also took
- 8:18me back to times when I was a child, and I remember, you
- 8:22know, growing up with my grandparents, just we getting up during the holiday
- 8:28times, especially Christmas time. I remember being the house with my grandmother and
- 8:33my grandfather, and my grandmother she loved this little bell that was in her
- 8:37china cabinet, and I will always go and open the china cabinet and take
- 8:43the little bell out. And once I start ringing that little bell, you
- 8:48know, everybody, you know, it's time to come together and open the
- 8:52Christmas presents, and we did that because my grandmother used to go to work
- 8:56after we opened the presence and then she'll come home late in the evening and
- 9:01we did not eat Christmas dinner until she got home. And you know,
- 9:05just stuff like that. As you get older and you go through things,
- 9:09you remember those times and you remember how it impacted you, and you want
- 9:15to then create your own sentimental and monumental things that the next generation can carry
- 9:24on. For me, ringing that little bell symbolized a lot for me.
- 9:30And like I said, many of you know, I just completed my chemotherapy,
- 9:35and it's ironic. I ended up finishing my chemotherapy the first of December,
- 9:45and if you know, December is a wonderful month for me because I'm
- 9:48born in the month of December, and I actually rang my bell all week
- 9:52before my birthday. But as I thought about it, it brought me back
- 9:56to when I was that little girl and bring that bell on Christmas morning.
- 10:01You know, it showed me how we have these these even as adults,
- 10:09we still have these childlike tendencies that we get excited for such important things and
- 10:15things that sometimes we just think don't mean that much, but they really do
- 10:20and sometimes you just have to sit back and just just taking the moment,
- 10:26let it be, let it soak in and give you those memories and those
- 10:31warm thoughts or invoke those memories or those warm thoughts of who you were when
- 10:39you were that child, like that child on Christmas Morning or even Christmas Eve.
- 10:43You know, another big thing for us was baking, cooking, And
- 10:48now that I am an adult, I took on a lot of those traditions
- 10:54of baking, cooking and doing things that I used to do with my grandmothers
- 11:01or with other family members. But they mean so much. But that also
- 11:05goes back to giving unconditionally, loving unconditionally, you know, taking on what
- 11:15the truth meaning of Christmas is, giving of yourself giving. God gave us
- 11:22the birth of baby Jesus, you know, he gave us a savior.
- 11:26Unto us, a child was born. So therefore, whatever whatever it is
- 11:33that you want to give, do it, but do it from a place
- 11:39of a childlike imagination. Do it from a place of just wanting to show
- 11:46and be grateful for what you who you are, and who's around you.
- 11:52In this season, another thing that I've realized in going through this transition of
- 12:01twenty twenty three and even giving when it comes down to who we deal with
- 12:07in terms of relationships, romantic relationship, getting to know somebody's We meet somebody
- 12:18and we get all excited about the person or the situation, but we tend
- 12:24to want to give ourselves really quickly, and sometimes we have to sit down
- 12:31and pay and see where it's gonna go and then see if that person is
- 12:37worthy of the gift of us or if we're worthy of the gift of them.
- 12:41You know, it all depends. You have to be able to understand
- 12:46that not everyone is who they say they are. Not everyone demonstrates or shows
- 12:56you who they are in the beginning. We always get are representative first before
- 13:03we see the actual person that we tend to then realize who that person is.
- 13:11So, you know, twenty twenty three has shown us, It's shown
- 13:15me, rather, it has shown me a lot in dealing with people,
- 13:22dealing with relationships, knowing myself, understanding where I need to be to be
- 13:28the person that I'm supposed to be, sometimes not the person that I want
- 13:33to be, but the person that I am supposed to be. You know,
- 13:37sometimes we get in our own way, and we can't always do that.
- 13:41Because sometimes when we get in our own way, we hinder ourselves from
- 13:46getting what we want and from obtaining things that we truly need to be that
- 13:52person that we're destined to be. So we're gonna take a little break,
- 13:58and then we're gonna come right back and to again about the Christmas mean,
- 14:03the meaning of Christmas, and what has twenty twenty three been for us as
- 14:11individual? All right, so we will be right back. Turn off the
- 14:33lights, can tonight on? Mon imagine, let's take a shower, shower
- 14:54together, I watch your bo who save? Turn off the book. A
- 15:28Song for Sopora, written by David Harris, is a powerful historical fiction centering
- 15:35around the life and character of Moses's future wife Zupporah before they met. Book
- 15:39author David Harris brings the reader into the relationship between Moses and Zipporah, which
- 15:45was gradual and lush. The story unfolds beautifully when Moses finally acts Appora to
- 15:50marry him. Purchase your copy of the book detailing this authentic story A Song
- 15:56for Zippora by David Harris Today. It's available on line at Barnes Andnoble and
- 16:00Amazon dot com. All right, and we are back, So I have
- 16:10a little little activity that I want you guys to do over the holiday weekend,
- 16:17and that's basically as you get ready to go into twenty twenty three.
- 16:22And this is not so much like a New Year's resolution, so to speak.
- 16:26I want you to think back on from the beginning of twenty twenty three.
- 16:32I mean, sorry, going into twenty twenty four, but I want
- 16:34you to think back of when January first, twenty twenty three, came in,
- 16:40and up until now or up until next week, whatever, when we
- 16:45get ready to go in New Year's and just think about the things that you
- 16:48accomplish, think about the things that you had a little bit of difficulty with,
- 16:53the things that maybe you are just so excited about, and see how
- 16:59it really impacted you or impacted those around you this year. And then look
- 17:08at that and see if there are things that you can take with you into
- 17:12twenty twenty four, or if there's stuff that you want to improve on,
- 17:19stuff that you think you don't want to take into twenty twenty four, but
- 17:26there's something else that instead you may want to scratch off that list and add
- 17:30it on. Just think about those things and see how you can be a
- 17:34better you. You were the best you that you could be in twenty twenty
- 17:38three. But now as you go into twenty twenty four, who is the
- 17:45you that you want to be in twenty twenty four. And one of the
- 17:48things that I encourage everybody to do is to be you authentically. Do not
- 17:53be who this person says that you should be, or you go you pretend
- 18:00to be somebody else that you're not. Be you and be you authentically.
- 18:06That is the only way that you are going to be able to understand yourself.
- 18:11That is the only way that people are going to be able to understand
- 18:14that, yes, you are a force to be working with. You know,
- 18:18there are things in life that we all go through, but don't let
- 18:23that stop you from becoming who you want to be. You know, I
- 18:30tend to look at myself and recently, even while I was going through chemo,
- 18:36I decided that I was going to go back to school. And at
- 18:41first I thought about it and I'm like, well, maybe I should wait
- 18:44until afterwards. I don't know how this is going to work with me doing
- 18:48the treatments and if I'm not feeling well. But I wanted to tell you
- 18:52that was one of the best decisions that I made was to press through because
- 18:59there were there where I really did not want to be bothered. But going
- 19:03back to school helped me to press through and really see that, you know
- 19:08what, the only person that's stopping me is me. And when I got
- 19:15that out of my my thinking, my thought process, I said, Okay,
- 19:21this is what my schedule is gonna be. This is how I'm gonna
- 19:23work it. I'm gonna work smarter, not harder. I'm gonna work to
- 19:30the best of my ability, and I'm gonna work in a way where if
- 19:34I am not feeling good, I'm not gonna let that deter me from saying,
- 19:41Okay, I can't go through with this. I'm gonna go through with
- 19:45this. And by doing that, I'm proud to say that I made a
- 19:49four point oh gpa, I'm on the President's list. And I did all
- 19:55of this while being on chemotherapy, and it was in you know, most
- 20:00of you know. This is my second journey with cancer. The first time
- 20:03was to breeze. This time because again I'm older, you know, your
- 20:08body changes. This time was not so easy. But what I did was
- 20:15I said to myself, I am not going to let this deter me.
- 20:21I'm going to get the most out of my situation. I'm going to make
- 20:26the most out of my situation. I'm going to do what I want to
- 20:30do for me and not for anybody else. Not because this one says,
- 20:36oh, you really need if you want to do this, you need that.
- 20:38No. I said, I'm not doing that. I'm going to do
- 20:44this. And I sat down and I said, Lord, if this is
- 20:47for me, help me anything that you do. Again, some people believe
- 20:53in in Jesus and God. Some people don't. Some people believe in the
- 20:57higher power. Whoever you believe. If there is something that you want to
- 21:03do and you are passionate about doing it, first thing, always sit down
- 21:11and write it out, write out your dreams like I just staated earlier,
- 21:18but also pray about it, meditate about it, talk to that higher being
- 21:23you that you connect with, and get guidance on it, because when you
- 21:30do that, it helps you to go on the path that you want to
- 21:34go on. When I thought about writing my book this time last year,
- 21:40I thought, and I sat down and I said, I'm going to I'm
- 21:42going to write my book and I'm going to publish it January of twenty twenty
- 21:49three, and exactly that. And when I tell you a year ago,
- 21:55I sat down and I thought about that, my book was already halfway written.
- 21:59All I need now was to decide how was I going to publish it.
- 22:03Was I going to go through a traditional publisher or was I going to
- 22:07self publish it myself. Now, I we'll never forget. It was a
- 22:10Christmas eve, Christmas Eve into the day after Christmas, and I sat down
- 22:15and I took my time, and I wrote out my plan and I decided
- 22:21this is what I was going to do. And by January first, not
- 22:25January first, by January eighth, twenty twenty three, my book was published.
- 22:32Be determined, be motivated, Be focused on where you want to go
- 22:42and what you want to do, and block out all of the outside noise
- 22:47because when that outside noise start to come in, that's when distractions come in.
- 22:53And to tie it back into the topic of tonight, with the gift
- 23:00of Christmas, give yourself that as a gift. Give yourself the gift of
- 23:08self determination. Give yourself the gift of knowing that you are going to follow
- 23:18your dreams and do whatever it is that you want to do. Because at
- 23:25the end of the day. Nobody else is going to do it for you,
- 23:29but you. Nobody's gonna sit down and write that book. Nobody's gonna
- 23:33sit down and draw that sketch, nobody's gonna sit down and write that piece
- 23:40of music that's in your mind, in your heart, but you. So.
- 23:47If it is anything that you have taken from tonight's show, again,
- 23:52what I want you to remember is the gift of Christmas, the gift of
- 23:56unconditional love, unconditional life, love for yourself, unconditional love for your family,
- 24:04your friends, whoever it may be that is around you. Be unapologetically.
- 24:15You block out the noise. Do what you have to do for yourself,
- 24:22because when you do it for yourself, then those around you will be
- 24:26able to see that, Okay, she did this, then I can do
- 24:30this. Be that positive light. But always be true to you. I
- 24:37don't know if you can see in my logo in the back says be true
- 24:41to you, and that is something that I stand on, something that I
- 24:44believe and that within my heart. If I'm not true to me, then
- 24:48I can't be true to anybody else. I have to be the best Natalie
- 24:56that I can be before I can be Natalie to anybody, that's my children,
- 25:02whoever I am in a relationship with my family, whatever, I have
- 25:07to be true to me. So I want you this holiday season going into
- 25:14next year, to be true to you. As we wind down again,
- 25:21I just want to say thank you. Thank you for your prayers, thank
- 25:25you for all your thoughts and well wishes while I was away. Thank you
- 25:30to the crew, you guys, thank you for being part of my village
- 25:34and my back moone while I was going through this journey. Tonight's show I
- 25:41want to dedicate to a couple of people that I have lost during this time
- 25:48of transition. Life is precious, and this is something that I want everybody
- 25:53to remember. Life is precious, Life is golden. You think, if
- 26:00someone pops up in your thoughts and you think, okay, I have to
- 26:06call that person, don't wait. Go ahead and call that person because you
- 26:11never know when that person, or maybe even your last day is gonna come.
- 26:18Never put off for tomorrow what you can do today. This year has
- 26:26been. This year has had its ups and downs, especially for a lot
- 26:30of people within the last few months, last few weeks, last few days.
- 26:36But just hold on, trust me. It is going to get better.
- 26:41It may not get better today, but it will get better down the
- 26:45line. It will get better eventually. And just love on those that you
- 26:53cherish, love on the people that bring you joy, love on your yourself
- 27:00especially. Just enjoy the holiday, enjoy your Christmas, Enjoy your New Year's
- 27:11I will see you in twenty twenty four. In twenty twenty four, we're
- 27:15gonna come with a whole lot of different things. We got kind of shut
- 27:21down a little bit for twenty twenty three, but don't worry. We're gonna
- 27:23be back and we're gonna be big, bigger than ever, and we're gonna
- 27:27do it up all right. So thank you for supporting Let's Chat with Nat.
- 27:32Thank you for supporting the Crew podcast. We love you, I love
- 27:37you, and I will see you in twenty twenty four. All right,
- 27:41take care, good night, bye bye,
