- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Star
- 0:23Speaker 2: Wars Lights. Your home on the Geek Ultimate Lights podcast
- 0:26Speaker 2: network for any and all things Star Wars. I'm your
- 0:29Speaker 2: Hostan is always Katie, and I'm congested as fuck with
- 0:33Speaker 2: me as per the usual, it is Clay who is
- 0:36Speaker 2: doing our tweet right now.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Clay, say hi, hello everybody. I am tweeting currently, so
- 0:43Speaker 3: I can't do two things at once, so now I
- 0:45Speaker 3: have to pause tweeting to say hi.
- 0:48Speaker 2: We are slackers. We are terrible at posting the podcast
- 0:52Speaker 2: episodes and when they go on to feeds, but we're
- 0:55Speaker 2: really good at the live tweets, so somewhat positive, just
- 1:00Speaker 2: terrible at promoting our shit.
- 1:03Speaker 4: And with us.
- 1:05Speaker 2: As he was last week, It's Adrian. Adrian, how are
- 1:08Speaker 2: you doing today?
- 1:09Speaker 5: All right, y'all, we're gonna hit our fad break and
- 1:11Speaker 5: we will be right back in three two one, hy do.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Good, big chilling, Excited to be here, Thanks for letting
- 1:20Speaker 4: me come back.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah. So we don't have much to talk about this
- 1:29Speaker 2: week other than Skeleton Crew episode four. Uh so that's
- 1:33Speaker 2: what we're gonna do. We're gonna dive on into it.
- 1:37Speaker 2: This episode, we get to the coordinates that Kim has
- 1:41Speaker 2: provided our skeleton crew, and it is a Neal focused episode,
- 1:47Speaker 2: and I want to highlight that because that's probably my
- 1:50Speaker 2: biggest issue with the episode. That okay, and I just
- 1:54Speaker 2: have to get this out of the way. So this
- 1:56Speaker 2: episode is directed by the Daniels. Yeah, and I guess
- 2:03Speaker 2: because it was a Neil centric episode. I don't know.
- 2:07Speaker 2: The the biggest thing that blugged me in this episode
- 2:11Speaker 2: is the way they focused on his face and the
- 2:14Speaker 2: way I could only see everything everywhere all it wants rock.
- 2:18Speaker 2: There's literally every time I looked at him and his
- 2:21Speaker 2: eyes are moving around and you see the lights because
- 2:23Speaker 2: you haven't really seen the lights of his eyes so far,
- 2:27Speaker 2: or like if they're not highlighted a bunch of bit.
- 2:29Speaker 2: Because he's the focused character of this episode, I just
- 2:31Speaker 2: look at him and I see the rock Like it's
- 2:35Speaker 2: really bad.
- 2:38Speaker 4: What y'all think? I mean, I guess I didn't really
- 2:42Speaker 4: think too much about like what he looked like. I thought.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I thought He's looked fine throughout the the entirety of
- 2:46Speaker 4: the season. I'm more annoyed about, like how he talks
- 2:49Speaker 4: to underprivileged and disenfranchised people more than anything than how
- 2:54Speaker 4: we're just like he's cute, though it's kind of messed
- 2:58Speaker 4: up that I'm sure that we can get you, like
- 3:00Speaker 4: like once we get a little bit further further on.
- 3:02Speaker 4: But yeah, all that stuff is fine. I was so
- 3:04Speaker 4: because you mentioned like the Daniels, and I was excited
- 3:06Speaker 4: because everything all at once. I was like, oh, co're
- 3:09Speaker 4: this this is going to be the deep episode, you know,
- 3:11Speaker 4: like when the directors pop up, you know, like when
- 3:13Speaker 4: Bryce Statles Howard pops up, you know that you're gonna
- 3:15Speaker 4: get a Bryce Styllis Howard episode. And I thought like
- 3:17Speaker 4: that was going to be like this, but they didn't
- 3:19Speaker 4: go They just didn't go deep enough for me. It's
- 3:21Speaker 4: like my to the episode. But I thought it was
- 3:23Speaker 4: fun overall. I liked that they just went to the
- 3:27Speaker 4: next planet. There wasn't into like a space thing. We
- 3:29Speaker 4: got hyperspace guys. We can just go to the next planet. Yeah,
- 3:33Speaker 4: so like teleporting and Outlaws, it's like, all right, cool,
- 3:35Speaker 4: we picked up the thing when you finished that quest, Boom,
- 3:37Speaker 4: let's go to the next quest and keep on going.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah, And I really enjoyed how like I know, Jude
- 3:44Speaker 2: Law is like our main adult character here, and he's like,
- 3:46Speaker 2: why most people are probably watching this because Jude law.
- 3:50Speaker 2: But I liked how the kids stayed in focus and
- 3:53Speaker 2: we just found out what happened to Yes, but I
- 4:00Speaker 2: just wanted to get the googly eyes out of the
- 4:03Speaker 2: way because that just it was so distracting.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I'll look at it, Yeah, I look at it. I'll
- 4:10Speaker 4: look at it on the next the next watch, because
- 4:11Speaker 4: it was too focused on the other stuff. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:14Speaker 4: I'll look at it for sure.
- 4:15Speaker 2: I get distracted by these random visual cues, and especially
- 4:19Speaker 2: since I knew the Daniels were directing this, I just
- 4:23Speaker 2: it just it. I was like, so, yeah, but we,
- 4:32Speaker 2: like you said, we hit the next planet, which is
- 4:37Speaker 2: it looks like it's one of the Lost Planets of nine,
- 4:41Speaker 2: so very similar to it's yep, and that's the name
- 4:48Speaker 2: of the episode.
- 4:52Speaker 3: The the planet that they are on is called Autumn.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I think that's like the the because that was like
- 5:03Speaker 3: the big reveal, one of the big reveals of this episode.
- 5:06Speaker 4: They played it really well. I thought I thought they
- 5:08Speaker 4: fucking got there. They got me, so they got me.
- 5:10Speaker 4: I thought it was.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I I thought we were watching freaking back in the
- 5:16Speaker 3: future too.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Dude, like because I yeah, so so for me, this
- 5:20Speaker 4: is like the first episode that I've watched by myself.
- 5:22Speaker 4: The other episodes I've watched with people, So I had
- 5:23Speaker 4: like people to be like, am I crazy? Did that
- 5:26Speaker 4: really happen? But I legit thought that they had gone
- 5:28Speaker 4: on the future, either they gone in the future or
- 5:29Speaker 4: we were we were living, Like they got out, somebody
- 5:32Speaker 4: found their trail, went back and then like merked the
- 5:35Speaker 4: planet or something like that, like completely in line with
- 5:38Speaker 4: so many things that have happened in like this franchise, right,
- 5:42Speaker 4: or that they would in feature in time, which would
- 5:44Speaker 4: be like mind blowing, but I think that the true
- 5:49Speaker 4: thing is cooler.
- 5:51Speaker 2: And I was definitely like, oh, are they just something
- 5:56Speaker 2: the other side of the planet and they've only been
- 5:58Speaker 2: like segregated?
- 5:59Speaker 3: Yeah, that the that was of mine as well as
- 6:03Speaker 3: like maybe this whole barrier was actually more like the dome,
- 6:09Speaker 3: you know, like yeah, yeah, kN Kong they were kng
- 6:13Speaker 3: yeah yeah. So I was like, Okay, what's exactly happening
- 6:17Speaker 3: here because there was so many similarities to the point
- 6:22Speaker 3: where Neil and Fern and everybody else was like, oh,
- 6:25Speaker 3: this is just like home, but it's not. Look these
- 6:27Speaker 3: are the same houses. These are the same building. See that.
- 6:30Speaker 3: How are there my mom works there? Like there's so
- 6:32Speaker 3: many like similarities to the point of like why are
- 6:37Speaker 3: there so many similarities, because there's just so many questions
- 6:41Speaker 3: with with all of that, you know.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I'm feeling very divergent about this. Where they created I
- 6:49Speaker 2: don't know if y'all read divertit, but they basically created
- 6:52Speaker 2: cities trying to like breathe the perfect person who could
- 6:58Speaker 2: like stop genetic h degradation basically, and so they created
- 7:05Speaker 2: like similar cities and then introduced different problems into each one,
- 7:12Speaker 2: so like they have this is the city and then.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so that's what I was thinking too. Yeah yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 4: same same, same, but same, same but different. That's what
- 7:22Speaker 4: I was thinking. That this could have been just like
- 7:24Speaker 4: something didn't stay right some thing, and then you have
- 7:28Speaker 4: like the giant statue satellite.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Or not like the yeah, the satellites around the planet.
- 7:35Speaker 4: From operations that look very similar to the ones for
- 7:37Speaker 4: Operations Center, which you've seen annihilate things in planets. That's good,
- 7:43Speaker 4: Like there there's so many there's so many possibilities because
- 7:45Speaker 4: then you have the I'm sorry, I get a little lad.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Sorry sorry sorry, and like the yeah imperial looking maybe helmets,
- 7:56Speaker 4: but everyone here has that, but it they just build
- 8:01Speaker 4: it up so well, and like that's I think where
- 8:03Speaker 4: the Daniels really do really well is the build was
- 8:06Speaker 4: so good up until like the very end. And I
- 8:10Speaker 4: don't think like the I think the episode is short
- 8:13Speaker 4: and like the pacing sucks for other reasons, but in
- 8:15Speaker 4: terms of like moving the story along, like getting us
- 8:18Speaker 4: to the next planet, I thought they killed it. It was
- 8:20Speaker 4: it was such a good like yeah, man, what wait
- 8:22Speaker 4: what huh? What?
- 8:25Speaker 2: Real quick? I'm gonna give you context. Operations Center is
- 8:29Speaker 2: Alphabet Squadron you have not?
- 8:31Speaker 3: Yes, still a book I haven't read yet, so.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yes, it's basically part of Palpatine's plan where he destroyed
- 8:40Speaker 2: certain planets. So like Naboo was one of the planets
- 8:42Speaker 2: that was set up to be destroyed by the satellites
- 8:47Speaker 2: and they have to stop the plot. So it ties
- 8:50Speaker 2: into race, loan and everything. So that's your context.
- 8:57Speaker 3: One of one of my big things Also when these
- 9:01Speaker 3: kids show up out of nowhere and are telling our
- 9:06Speaker 3: kids the protagonists, like, hey, we need to get going,
- 9:09Speaker 3: we need to hide. I think that Skeleton Crew is
- 9:14Speaker 3: doing this on purpose. I think Luca's film is doing
- 9:16Speaker 3: this on purpose. I saw those helmets and I was
- 9:18Speaker 3: like nil. I immediately I thought nihil, and I was
- 9:24Speaker 3: like this, this can't be a coincidence. What's going on?
- 9:27Speaker 3: But then when you actually look at the helmets, I
- 9:30Speaker 3: understand like, Okay, these look a little bit more like
- 9:34Speaker 3: like you said, Adrian, you compared them to uh.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Yeah, they look like the Imperial and Solo in Solo,
- 9:44Speaker 4: like when he's doing like his grunt work, he kind
- 9:46Speaker 4: of look like those helmets to me.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely thought, oh gosh, it's just terrible. Remembering
- 9:52Speaker 2: the infus Nest, like I felt like.
- 9:57Speaker 4: It was a little of everything that's like like the
- 9:59Speaker 4: cool thing. So this so whatever happened here, I definitely
- 10:02Speaker 4: think that was like I don't know if it was
- 10:03Speaker 4: like an experiment or what it is, but the race
- 10:06Speaker 4: diversity is clear that like this created some even like
- 10:09Speaker 4: weird dialect. Because my wife when she was watching and
- 10:11Speaker 4: was watching her watch it after I had watched it
- 10:13Speaker 4: maybe a couple hours before, it was like what dialect
- 10:15Speaker 4: are this? Because like I didn't even really think of
- 10:17Speaker 4: that because I was just like, yeah, this is just
- 10:18Speaker 4: a dialect they speak like Ryl. I was like, that
- 10:21Speaker 4: sounds like Ryloff to me, very similar circumstances of genetic.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I just want to say this before we move on
- 10:30Speaker 3: at all, uh Adrian, I think you have some new fans.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I shared your tweet from last week on your huge
- 10:40Speaker 3: deep dive on the arabag.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Yeah, that was a lot of fun, and I think
- 10:44Speaker 4: I was like four am, like, like, I think some
- 10:48Speaker 4: people would like.
- 10:49Speaker 3: One of the comments that I saw from a friend
- 10:51Speaker 3: of mine said that you need to get with him
- 10:55Speaker 3: in trying to find some of his ancestors if you're
- 10:58Speaker 3: going to take that much of a deep dive. So
- 11:05Speaker 3: I love this. You know you're talking about dialect. I
- 11:08Speaker 3: will be completely, completely honest watching it. I unfortunately didn't
- 11:12Speaker 3: have time to watch it the day it released. I
- 11:14Speaker 3: had to watch it literally before this recording.
- 11:17Speaker 5: We're going to go into our second ad break and
- 11:20Speaker 5: we'll be right back.
- 11:22Speaker 3: My wife was cooking, Amberlyn was running around with the
- 11:24Speaker 3: iPad and the first time the kid speaks. I can't
- 11:29Speaker 3: remember her name at the top of my head right now,
- 11:32Speaker 3: but the first time she is telling them about the
- 11:35Speaker 3: hatan and all this other stuff. She is speaking so
- 11:38Speaker 3: fast and with the different dialect that I had heard before.
- 11:41Speaker 3: I told everybody, I was like quiet every round for
- 11:45Speaker 3: just a split second heard it, and thankfully I had
- 11:48Speaker 3: the actual close captions on, so I was like, Okay,
- 11:52Speaker 3: now I understand what she said, let's move on, but I.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Really almost it's not galactic basic. Yeah, yeah, it's so cool.
- 12:03Speaker 4: It's so cool. I love it, and.
- 12:07Speaker 2: The like the planet seems to be so old that
- 12:11Speaker 2: they don't understand operash, like they've been in the sanctum,
- 12:16Speaker 2: but they don't understand what is on the wall at all.
- 12:20Speaker 4: It's crazy.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So that like makes me feel like, Okay, maybe it
- 12:26Speaker 2: is more old republic versus like high republic and stuff.
- 12:32Speaker 4: There's definitely old republic. I think it's I think it
- 12:36Speaker 4: might be the the A lot of the separatist stuff
- 12:40Speaker 4: makes me think that this was like a separatist way
- 12:43Speaker 4: to like separate. I mean I don't. I mean, see,
- 12:46Speaker 4: this is like where I get, where I get excited,
- 12:48Speaker 4: where I want to go deep dive A little bit.
- 12:50Speaker 4: More is like where were the authoritians like at this time,
- 12:53Speaker 4: and like where were they more separatist leaning, like at
- 12:57Speaker 4: some point like in the in the timeline where they
- 13:00Speaker 4: would side it and would have you know, wanted because
- 13:02Speaker 4: like if you because think about like what this is,
- 13:04Speaker 4: it's just like separation like the Nihill did, right, It's yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 4: it's a it's a very similar thing that they just
- 13:10Speaker 4: want to be left alone. And I mean, but the
- 13:12Speaker 4: way that the n I will do it is is bad.
- 13:13Speaker 4: The way the separatists do it is obviously bad. But
- 13:16Speaker 4: this could have been a way for them to be like, hey,
- 13:17Speaker 4: we're going to separate ourselves like legit, like where no
- 13:20Speaker 4: one's going to be able to mess with us, and
- 13:21Speaker 4: I was gonna be able to talk to us other
- 13:22Speaker 4: than the overseers of our people. I'm gonna sure everyone
- 13:26Speaker 4: else like robots and it right like that.
- 13:29Speaker 3: You know again with everybody's ten foil hats. I just
- 13:31Speaker 3: love that phrase, by the way. I this kind of
- 13:37Speaker 3: feeds into you know, Katie, you're talking about this thing
- 13:39Speaker 3: about uh, you know, possibly experimenting and everything else. This
- 13:45Speaker 3: feeds into the very early theories that we had in
- 13:50Speaker 3: the idea that like, is all of this a like
- 13:56Speaker 3: ploy of what you know, Palpatine and his predecessors.
- 14:01Speaker 4: I don't think so. There's too many aliens for it
- 14:03Speaker 4: to be Palpatine.
- 14:04Speaker 3: That's true.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Aliens involved that dude was racist as hell, dude, but it's.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Only been like specific aliens. So we've seen Roady. No,
- 14:14Speaker 2: I guess the school scene he's not.
- 14:16Speaker 4: I don't. I do Thorians. You think he'd be nice
- 14:19Speaker 4: to some authorians. No one was nice of the authorians.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Go back to the nice and old Republic game where
- 14:23Speaker 4: they're the first thing is like them getting bullied. Yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 4: they're never nice of those people. Man, I just.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Don't have the episode playing right now.
- 14:36Speaker 4: I never know.
- 14:37Speaker 3: I didn't notice this before. Did you guys notice that
- 14:40Speaker 3: when Neil is like scared and hyperventilating, his trunk shakes.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I did not know articulated cool dude. I think
- 14:49Speaker 4: I think he looks cool. Like maybe maybe I'm so
- 14:51Speaker 4: focused on the trunk. I don't look at the eyes ever.
- 14:56Speaker 4: I like, I think it's so cool. I was like,
- 14:58Speaker 4: his trunks up and his mouth moves the bottom yeah, yeah,
- 15:04Speaker 4: mouth under there.
- 15:05Speaker 3: I think they they did excellent with him. He and
- 15:08Speaker 3: again props to the actor. He did very well this episode.
- 15:12Speaker 3: I will say I agree with Katie and the idea
- 15:15Speaker 3: that like this because the entire time I was watching,
- 15:19Speaker 3: I was like, isn't this supposed to be the Neil
- 15:21Speaker 3: like focused episode, Like or is.
- 15:23Speaker 4: That the next he said that though, like who says that,
- 15:27Speaker 4: you know what I mean?
- 15:28Speaker 3: From what I remember, I believe it was. Of course
- 15:32Speaker 3: it was outlets and stuff like I would have to
- 15:34Speaker 3: go back to see that. But I it became such
- 15:38Speaker 3: a like talk about focus of like, oh, this will
- 15:42Speaker 3: be the Neil episode, this will be the Neil episode.
- 15:45Speaker 3: And it might have been just the fact that people
- 15:48Speaker 3: were over hyping it and just like, oh, you know,
- 15:50Speaker 3: he's so cute, he needs his own episode, you know,
- 15:53Speaker 3: and just throwing that out there. I hope that's not
- 15:55Speaker 3: the case. But I also hope that it's not the
- 15:58Speaker 3: case that this was supposed to be the Neil focused episode, because.
- 16:01Speaker 4: No, this is the episode. And I think I think
- 16:04Speaker 4: the really interesting thing here clays that you haven't been
- 16:06Speaker 4: on the internet yet, dude, Like people are loving this.
- 16:09Speaker 4: You You are the minority here, sir. People are going
- 16:12Speaker 4: to hate that you're saying this. Neil Nation's coming after you,
- 16:16Speaker 4: after you, because this was an amazing episode for Neil.
- 16:20Speaker 4: It was an amazing episode for Neil. I think it
- 16:21Speaker 4: did a lot of great things for his character. He
- 16:23Speaker 4: did learn a lot. I just don't think that he
- 16:25Speaker 4: learned enough. Yeah, I think it is how I feel
- 16:27Speaker 4: he learned didn't learn enough, and he learned at the
- 16:30Speaker 4: expanse of other characters, which I always hate, like he
- 16:33Speaker 4: shouldn't have to learn something because someone else is getting
- 16:36Speaker 4: like hello, oppressed and he needs to like see that.
- 16:40Speaker 4: And this is like more like on a personal note,
- 16:41Speaker 4: it it reminds me a lot like and I posted
- 16:45Speaker 4: about this that it felt like watching a little kid
- 16:49Speaker 4: from the suburbs here go to Gaza and like talk
- 16:52Speaker 4: to anybody on either side, I don't care what side
- 16:54Speaker 4: you're on, and then ask them to and be like wow,
- 16:57Speaker 4: this is kind of like silly. We shouldn't be fighting.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Like if it was me, I would just say I'm sorry.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Just come to America.
- 17:02Speaker 4: Like yeah, it's like yeah, just me, just come to America.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:05Speaker 4: It's very very like pretension and obviously he's a child
- 17:08Speaker 4: and he's not supposed to get it. But also no
- 17:10Speaker 4: one's telling him like yeah, dude, like that's that's cool.
- 17:13Speaker 4: I'm like that is how it should be. But this
- 17:15Speaker 4: people don't even understand galactic basic. We can't teach you
- 17:20Speaker 4: centuries of oppression because you were quote unquote like safe.
- 17:25Speaker 4: We don't even know what's going on with them. They
- 17:27Speaker 4: could like they have like another love of oppression and
- 17:29Speaker 4: protection for kids that I think is also like and
- 17:31Speaker 4: that's like kind of what this whole episode is, right,
- 17:33Speaker 4: It's a it's a look at like how do we
- 17:35Speaker 4: protect kids? The Jedi protect kids a certain way. The
- 17:38Speaker 4: Empire conscripts kids. The first order of conscripts kids. They
- 17:42Speaker 4: these peoples give them, these kids a whole bunch of power.
- 17:48Speaker 4: The at in kids are like super protected. So like
- 17:50Speaker 4: what is the right way? I don't know. And we
- 17:51Speaker 4: were just talking about like parents stuff before we went
- 17:54Speaker 4: live today. Who knows, dude, who knows. But like some
- 17:58Speaker 4: of these people I think are not making the rights
- 18:00Speaker 4: with their kids.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy, But I also feel like maybe, like
- 18:07Speaker 2: and maybe it's just the point where we're at in
- 18:10Speaker 2: the season, but I feel like Whim would have been
- 18:13Speaker 2: a more interesting focused character here because he's all excited
- 18:17Speaker 2: with the blasters and stuff, and he's like, oh, Neil,
- 18:20Speaker 2: watch this and shoots like the heavy blaster cannon like
- 18:24Speaker 2: and gets knocked back by the record or whatever it's
- 18:30Speaker 2: called recoil. I was close, and so I feel like
- 18:37Speaker 2: maybe he would have learned a deeper lesson, like, hey.
- 18:40Speaker 4: I mean I think later, I think he's I think
- 18:44Speaker 4: like the main right, I think like he's going to
- 18:46Speaker 4: have the bigger, the bigger arc in the second half
- 18:49Speaker 4: the season. I think this is just like for me,
- 18:51Speaker 4: the whole thing is this is for him to throw
- 18:53Speaker 4: the rock at the end of the episode. I know
- 18:55Speaker 4: we aren't there yet, so I won't believe, but like
- 18:58Speaker 4: he's there to throw the rock at the end of
- 18:59Speaker 4: the episode. Now that's the whole thing, which is fine,
- 19:02Speaker 4: like that should happen, But the way that we get
- 19:04Speaker 4: there I don't, I think is it doesn't feel theistic
- 19:08Speaker 4: way to look at something that you're really it's a
- 19:10Speaker 4: plistic way to look at something that you're trying to
- 19:12Speaker 4: like really touch at. Right, Because you open up this
- 19:16Speaker 4: episode with child soldiers. Oh shit, child soldiers. Wait, we've
- 19:19Speaker 4: never seen child soldiers. I was like, yes, you have.
- 19:22Speaker 4: You've seen child soldiers everywhere and it's been bad every
- 19:25Speaker 4: time it's happened, so like it's cool, cool, cool, And
- 19:28Speaker 4: then like the answer being like if it was me,
- 19:30Speaker 4: I would just say I'm sorry. The braver thing is
- 19:33Speaker 4: the braver thing to do would be to make peace,
- 19:35Speaker 4: is another one of his lines from It's like, yeah,
- 19:37Speaker 4: that's cool, but it's like an empty platitude that really
- 19:40Speaker 4: doesn't harken to the fact that, like, this whole thing
- 19:43Speaker 4: started because George Lucas was inspired by the Vietnam War
- 19:46Speaker 4: and wanted to speak to that. Right, So if we're
- 19:49Speaker 4: already going to go that deep, you can be like, oh,
- 19:51Speaker 4: this is for kids, Why are you going that deep.
- 19:53Speaker 4: He's a child, he should understand those things of repression
- 19:55Speaker 4: and blah blah blah blah blah. Star Wars is for kids,
- 19:58Speaker 4: and it was also inspired by the Vietnam War. Both
- 20:00Speaker 4: those things are true. So if you're gonna hark on it,
- 20:03Speaker 4: if you're gonna go for it, then just go for it. Man,
- 20:05Speaker 4: it's twenty twenty four. Go for it. Call everybody out
- 20:08Speaker 4: because you just had them in the last episode shooting
- 20:10Speaker 4: at the literal good guys on not national TV, but
- 20:15Speaker 4: like on TV for everybody to see, Like, that's something
- 20:17Speaker 4: you only do in video games. You don't do that
- 20:20Speaker 4: in real life. The main characters don't shoot at the
- 20:24Speaker 4: you know, the good guys in real life. So if
- 20:25Speaker 4: you're gonna go for it, Go for it. I think
- 20:27Speaker 4: the message is good. I think the way they get
- 20:29Speaker 4: there is just murky. And my wife felt the same way,
- 20:32Speaker 4: and I didn't influence her at all. All I said is, yeah,
- 20:35Speaker 4: we can watch it and then we can talk about
- 20:37Speaker 4: it after we didn't posit. I didn't pose it. I
- 20:39Speaker 4: didn't do anything. But even she posited, she was just like, yeah,
- 20:43Speaker 4: and if you come with me, everything will be okay.
- 20:45Speaker 4: And I was like, yeah, dude, that's exactly how I felt.
- 20:47Speaker 4: So it's like, maybe it's like, I don't know if
- 20:49Speaker 4: it's like I don't want to make it like a
- 20:50Speaker 4: race thing, but it feels like maybe it's like a
- 20:52Speaker 4: minority privileged thing, because I know that everyone and their
- 20:54Speaker 4: mother is all about like how cute he was in
- 20:56Speaker 4: this episode, how adorable he was in this episode. But
- 20:59Speaker 4: for me, it just rings super hollow. And if you
- 21:02Speaker 4: look at real world events, if you if you take
- 21:04Speaker 4: out Neil and put a just a blonde hair, white kid,
- 21:07Speaker 4: we would be fucking pissed. And literally, what I was.
- 21:10Speaker 3: About to say is because you have the minorities in
- 21:17Speaker 3: our group, you have of course Neil is the.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Alien you have.
- 21:22Speaker 3: Uh, uh, Whim is the is the black kid? You
- 21:26Speaker 3: have KB, is.
- 21:27Speaker 4: The the the Mexican kid? Were myself?
- 21:35Speaker 3: We say, yeah exactly, but it wasn't Fern And and
- 21:38Speaker 3: I think that was the best option they could have done,
- 21:41Speaker 3: is like, Okay, Burn's not going to learn this lesson
- 21:43Speaker 3: right now. And I think, you know, we were talking
- 21:48Speaker 3: very briefly about, you know, could it have been Whim's
- 21:52Speaker 3: episode to learn that lesson? We're getting there because even
- 21:56Speaker 3: the conversation that him and Fern were having end of
- 22:00Speaker 3: the episode of like, great thing you should have been captain.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Oh well, actually, you know, I think you would have
- 22:06Speaker 3: been good as captains, like, oh well, I wouldn't have
- 22:08Speaker 3: gotten this this far, Like you can already see it brewing,
- 22:11Speaker 3: like that is going to get to a certain point where.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's building. I'm like that, that's building, like you know,
- 22:17Speaker 4: we're building, because that's him caving like a little bit
- 22:20Speaker 4: and then realizing that like oh like and I do
- 22:23Speaker 4: like it because you know, you can get fucking pissy
- 22:25Speaker 4: and you can cry or you can say gay witches,
- 22:27Speaker 4: whatever the hell, but like power of one, power of mine.
- 22:30Speaker 4: He's like the whole thing for Star Wars, you know,
- 22:31Speaker 4: we're better together, doing things together, the whole thing. So
- 22:35Speaker 4: like them realizing like, oh yeah, she might be like
- 22:38Speaker 4: leading the team quote unquote, but doesn't mean like I
- 22:41Speaker 4: can't do stuff. Doesn't mean that I don't have to
- 22:43Speaker 4: be just the PP guy, which he has been now
- 22:45Speaker 4: for you know, four episodes, which I think is going
- 22:48Speaker 4: to make that bigger, which is which I think is great,
- 22:50Speaker 4: which is what we don't get. If like this is
- 22:52Speaker 4: the only like neal thing that we get, then he
- 22:55Speaker 4: should have gotten more things other than just saying like
- 22:58Speaker 4: this is where you live. You live on the for
- 23:00Speaker 4: the school, dude, imagine if someone said that about your hometown,
- 23:04Speaker 4: like how like how much are you want to educate
- 23:07Speaker 4: that little boy on like don't say stuff like that.
- 23:10Speaker 4: And maybe this, maybe this is because I just work
- 23:11Speaker 4: with kids every day, and I work and sometimes I
- 23:14Speaker 4: work with really privileged kids who just don't know that
- 23:17Speaker 4: like the stuff they like bliss, but someone's got to educate.
- 23:23Speaker 4: And I just don't think that the education he needed
- 23:26Speaker 4: there to like really understand why she was able to
- 23:30Speaker 4: cave to, like not cave, but understand where he was
- 23:32Speaker 4: coming from. I don't think that she got to see
- 23:34Speaker 4: that he understood where she was coming from because they separate.
- 23:38Speaker 4: He's gone, he has the big moment, but then she
- 23:41Speaker 4: goes off thinking that like, oh, that guy would never
- 23:43Speaker 4: do this ever, you know what I mean in my head,
- 23:47Speaker 4: because she's like because people are telling me online when
- 23:50Speaker 4: I'm like, when I posted this, because I knew that
- 23:51Speaker 4: people were going to we're gonna like this, Like I
- 23:54Speaker 4: just feel like that's like the case. And you're like, oh, well,
- 23:56Speaker 4: she's gonna take the lessons off to go learn them
- 24:00Speaker 4: when she's leader and it's going to change everything. Dope,
- 24:04Speaker 4: that is exactly what Sagarera's sister thought. Like, that's exactly
- 24:08Speaker 4: what so many of like great leaders thought, and then
- 24:11Speaker 4: they all died. So you're we're assuming that she's going
- 24:15Speaker 4: to live. We're assuming like this lady who's cut off
- 24:17Speaker 4: from the galaxy is going to get the help somewhere
- 24:20Speaker 4: that that that that she's going to live. So in
- 24:22Speaker 4: my ham's like the the cost benefit, Like who got
- 24:25Speaker 4: the better deal out of this this cultural exchange that's
- 24:28Speaker 4: happening here. And you know, Neil gets to go off
- 24:31Speaker 4: and faint and you know, go hunky dory, get on
- 24:34Speaker 4: the ship and go continue his adventure while she goes
- 24:37Speaker 4: to go literally fight for her life. And I just
- 24:40Speaker 4: don't think that it's a I just don't think it's
- 24:41Speaker 4: as cute as as everyone's making as everybody else, not
- 24:45Speaker 4: that it isn't cute, like it's a good it's a
- 24:46Speaker 4: good arc. I can't like express that enough. Like I
- 24:48Speaker 4: don't hate Neil, I don't hate Neil, I love Neil.
- 24:51Speaker 4: I think you know, Robert Robert Timothy Smith like is
- 24:55Speaker 4: killing it, Like these kids are killing it, but some
- 24:57Speaker 4: of the best kid voiced like this. This is like
- 24:59Speaker 4: these kids are better, not better, or like this feels
- 25:02Speaker 4: like I'm watching The Stranger Things level of like child
- 25:04Speaker 4: actors like out here just murdering it, right, So I
- 25:07Speaker 4: just want them to do better. I think that the
- 25:09Speaker 4: The Wall scene where they kind of have that thing
- 25:11Speaker 4: where he's like, uh, you're you know that building over there,
- 25:16Speaker 4: like you guys shouldn't be fighting, Like fighting is dumb.
- 25:18Speaker 4: Basically that building over there, Well, when uh my planet,
- 25:23Speaker 4: my mom lives there and or my mom works there,
- 25:26Speaker 4: and then when I get out of school, I'm gonna
- 25:28Speaker 4: go work there. Like that's like the nethotism shit that
- 25:30Speaker 4: I hear and hear when I was a college student,
- 25:32Speaker 4: when I had to like crawl and grime to get there, right,
- 25:36Speaker 4: I think it undervalues for all of his cuteness, it
- 25:39Speaker 4: undervalues like who he's talking to and like who this
- 25:42Speaker 4: message is supposed to be talking to. And I just
- 25:45Speaker 4: don't think that at all. I think it's the weakest episode.
- 25:48Speaker 4: I still gave it an eight, and I think people
- 25:50Speaker 4: are gonna call it filler. I don't think it's filler
- 25:51Speaker 4: because it facilitates conversations like this.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Well, I think it definitely like it. It pushes the needle.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Also as far as like the actual story line goes,
- 26:00Speaker 3: there's a huge drop at the very end of the episode.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Yeah on the game is in the chat here and
- 26:05Speaker 3: he says, thought I was the only one who thought
- 26:08Speaker 3: it was the weakest episode so far.
- 26:10Speaker 5: And we're about to jump into our third ad.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Y'all.
- 26:14Speaker 5: We promise, we'll be right back.
- 26:15Speaker 3: We promise, and no you're not alone. I think that
- 26:19Speaker 3: that overall, I think this was a good episode, not great.
- 26:24Speaker 3: It did drop a bomb at the very end to
- 26:27Speaker 3: help progress the story, which I think is very very
- 26:29Speaker 3: good as a series as a whole, because every episode
- 26:34Speaker 3: does have an important point, and I think that is
- 26:37Speaker 3: very good for any and all series I want to
- 26:42Speaker 3: talk about I always forget his name.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Juda's characters, John George, Crimson Jack.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Yeah, Crimson Jack exactly, Crimson Jack and me. I really
- 26:59Speaker 3: liked their first interaction going into the planet you know
- 27:05Speaker 3: fur and is like, hey to me, you know babysit
- 27:08Speaker 3: the you know this guy. I love entering babysitter mode,
- 27:12Speaker 3: come here.
- 27:14Speaker 4: They bullied that man at the beginning of this episode.
- 27:17Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 27:18Speaker 3: It man, it was so good.
- 27:19Speaker 4: He just took it. But I love that he's like,
- 27:22Speaker 4: you bad asking He could like just leave if he
- 27:24Speaker 4: wanted maybe. Yeah, it was like a nice guy, which
- 27:26Speaker 4: is which I hope is happening here, that he's really
- 27:28Speaker 4: just a nice guy and he's not just taking the
- 27:30Speaker 4: ship just to take the ship. But he's adorable. I
- 27:32Speaker 4: love him.
- 27:33Speaker 3: I I'm getting mixed signals, and I love the mixed
- 27:37Speaker 3: signals because it it's because it's what keeps me drawn in,
- 27:41Speaker 3: because you have these moments where he's in the ship
- 27:44Speaker 3: and he's snooping around. You know, he's not supposed to
- 27:46Speaker 3: be stoopid around, stoopid around, super around. He finds the credits.
- 27:50Speaker 3: He finds the Old Republic credits and Me is like, oh,
- 27:54Speaker 3: we have a three phone on the ship and he's like, oh,
- 27:56Speaker 3: it's me, it's me, it's me.
- 27:57Speaker 4: He's like, oh.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, yeah whatever they.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 3: And that's the thing. That's what I love the subtlety
- 28:06Speaker 3: in this episode. Again, Adrian, you said like, oh, it
- 28:10Speaker 3: was so off the tongue that it sounds like at
- 28:13Speaker 3: aton and you think that they're there, but then you
- 28:17Speaker 3: actually hear what Me is saying. You're like, oh, wait
- 28:19Speaker 3: a second, that's that's not where, Like he actually knows
- 28:23Speaker 3: where they are. This is wild. And then when he's like, oh, yeah,
- 28:28Speaker 3: you know, there was a lot of soldiers like this
- 28:30Speaker 3: last time, and then the fog goes away. I love
- 28:35Speaker 3: that visual, by the way, Yeah, absolutely love.
- 28:42Speaker 4: It keeps undercutting the biggest moments. Manike is watching and
- 28:46Speaker 4: she's she's panicked. She's panicked, like these kids are really
- 28:49Speaker 4: going to go to war. Oh no, no, just kidding, No,
- 28:52Speaker 4: it's just crimson Jack, that that scoundrel.
- 28:55Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no no. The the first time when they
- 28:58Speaker 3: are leaving the ship and you see, yeah, the other scene.
- 29:05Speaker 4: It separates away when he yeah, I thought yeah, yeah, sorry, Sorry, Sorry,
- 29:11Speaker 4: I was getting ahead of myself, but I was like,
- 29:13Speaker 4: yeah for that, say no, yeah that that that was
- 29:15Speaker 4: cool because I thought that he was gonna go crazy
- 29:16Speaker 4: and we're going to see it.
- 29:18Speaker 3: But he's just like, nah, just shoot me, Like when
- 29:20Speaker 3: he said that, Oh God, what's what's gonna Yeah, He's.
- 29:23Speaker 4: Either he's either like the best actor on the planet
- 29:26Speaker 4: or he's really like this, and I just don't know
- 29:28Speaker 4: which one. It is. Like, that's a mystery of itself.
- 29:30Speaker 4: It's like a mystery within the mystery for him.
- 29:32Speaker 2: I feel like it's very parallel to his character Captain Marble,
- 29:37Speaker 2: so maybe that is real life.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Yeah, there's I think there's a small little subtlety of
- 29:43Speaker 3: like Captain Jack Sparrow in him in a sense like
- 29:47Speaker 3: where I think if you because I bet you anything.
- 29:51Speaker 3: They said, Hey, Jude Law, do you want to do
- 29:53Speaker 3: this Star Wars thing where you're a pirate? Hey you
- 29:56Speaker 3: can be like this silly kind of nuanced character and
- 30:00Speaker 3: and you are very serious, but you know, you get
- 30:02Speaker 3: away with things. He's like, oh, Jack Sparrow, you know,
- 30:06Speaker 3: so I could see that happening. I could see him
- 30:09Speaker 3: possibly trying to work that out. I want to know
- 30:16Speaker 3: because again there's this question is he actually for sensitive
- 30:20Speaker 3: or not? Is this all tricks? Like what's going on?
- 30:24Speaker 3: How did he get away from them?
- 30:27Speaker 2: Well, I mean he kind of tells.
- 30:28Speaker 4: Them, yeah that he's just isn't the truth? We don't know.
- 30:33Speaker 3: That's the point. Like that's the part that like I
- 30:35Speaker 3: think is good storytelling, because again you want to believe
- 30:40Speaker 3: him because it's just like, Okay, you know he got lucky,
- 30:42Speaker 3: blah blah. But at the same time, did he just
- 30:44Speaker 3: go murder everybody like he said, like good old Rosamon?
- 30:48Speaker 4: So yeah, it really just changs away. I looked at
- 30:51Speaker 4: any of these stories because like Star Wars from anything,
- 30:53Speaker 4: unless like I'm watching the specifics character by themself, like
- 30:57Speaker 4: in a room. Everything is like from a certain point
- 30:59Speaker 4: of view in my being able to come to Star Wars,
- 31:01Speaker 4: which makes it so great, it's the whole thing. But
- 31:04Speaker 4: I think I saw a video by Element Diad in
- 31:09Speaker 4: The Force and he did like a whole thing on
- 31:12Speaker 4: like Rochamon and like why people have such an issue
- 31:14Speaker 4: with like the the Luke scene in the Last Jedi.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Not that I'm one of them, but like, you know,
- 31:20Speaker 4: why we want to believe a certain thing. So like
- 31:22Speaker 4: when we watch this guy, he's like a perfect example
- 31:25Speaker 4: of that because we have no idea what this guy's
- 31:27Speaker 4: true intentions are, and we don't know him enough to
- 31:30Speaker 4: like want him to act any certain way because we
- 31:32Speaker 4: don't know him. It's just it. It's like the best
- 31:35Speaker 4: really representation of like us interacting in whatever thing is
- 31:39Speaker 4: going on, because some of us want to be like, yeah,
- 31:42Speaker 4: like whip out the lightsaber, do the thing, shoot them
- 31:44Speaker 4: all up. Some people in reaction to this and just like, yeah, dude,
- 31:47Speaker 4: he's so me. I would just be like, yeah, shoot me,
- 31:49Speaker 4: get it over with. So it's a wide variety of
- 31:52Speaker 4: like playing this character, he's killing it and I don't
- 31:54Speaker 4: even think he's doing that much. He's doing like, not
- 31:57Speaker 4: a whole lot, but so much at the same time. Yeah,
- 32:00Speaker 4: characters written really well and do laws killing it, for sure.
- 32:05Speaker 3: I agree. But that really takes us to the forbidden
- 32:13Speaker 3: what they call it, the fallen sanctum, the fallen sanctum.
- 32:17Speaker 3: I was gonna say forbidden sanctum, but the fallen sanctum.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Which is I hadn't get this out of the way, yea.
- 32:24Speaker 2: It parallels what we've seen in the trailers for what
- 32:28Speaker 2: has been assumed to be the Supervisor's Tower, and the
- 32:35Speaker 2: kids talk about it as like, oh, like I've never
- 32:38Speaker 2: been inside this, but like it looks exactly like the tower,
- 32:41Speaker 2: which is where like I'm like, okay, maybe it's experimental,
- 32:44Speaker 2: and they design all these planets the same, but then
- 32:47Speaker 2: like through things into it. Anyways, So they get to
- 32:50Speaker 2: the Fallen Sanctum and they start finding all these coordinates
- 32:55Speaker 2: for all the other planets assumedly in this lost nine
- 33:01Speaker 2: that all had like some sort of treasure. But then
- 33:04Speaker 2: they find Autumn's Tower and the coordinates have been scratched
- 33:10Speaker 2: out of the tower.
- 33:13Speaker 3: And it is revealed immediately when they find it, because
- 33:16Speaker 3: it's really cool, you know. They see the Autumn, the
- 33:20Speaker 3: one that they're in, then they see all these other
- 33:23Speaker 3: ones and they start yelling them out and they're like, oh,
- 33:25Speaker 3: these are all sounding very similar. What is this all about?
- 33:28Speaker 3: And that's when Neil finds at Atton it's blasted away,
- 33:33Speaker 3: and that's when Smee says, Oh, that was me. I
- 33:37Speaker 3: did that, you know.
- 33:39Speaker 2: And I knew he was programmed. I knew it. Like
- 33:43Speaker 2: the second episode where he was like, oh, I don't
- 33:45Speaker 2: know if I've ever heard of no at atten.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I like this because again, unfortunately Katie, you have never
- 33:52Speaker 3: seen this movie, even though you need to see it.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Treasure Planet this.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Is watch it after this because you're you're experiencing all
- 34:01Speaker 4: the cool things that make like Treasure Planet cool.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I mean that is also true. Like this, this is
- 34:07Speaker 3: this is kind of like Treasure Planet. And that's why I.
- 34:10Speaker 4: Love it more. It's more like Treasure Planet is the Goonies.
- 34:12Speaker 4: I hate. I'm so over the Goonies reference to this, Like,
- 34:14Speaker 4: this is not the Goodies. This is a treasure Planet.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Like it's much deeper than like.
- 34:18Speaker 3: Well and that was the thing.
- 34:19Speaker 4: People.
- 34:19Speaker 3: I'm surprised that you're seeing a lot of people say
- 34:21Speaker 3: goonies because for me.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Well, like the first like two episodes they did yeah yeah,
- 34:25Speaker 4: it was very much.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Yeah yeah sure. But this I one hundred percent agree.
- 34:31Speaker 3: It is one hundred percent Treasure Planet. But there is
- 34:35Speaker 3: a uh, there's an android, and I will say I
- 34:39Speaker 3: will say this small spoiler. There's an android named Ben
- 34:43Speaker 3: in Treasure Planet, and he hides some secrets and then
- 34:47Speaker 3: you get to learn why and how and all this
- 34:49Speaker 3: other stuff and it's boom. It happens to me and
- 34:54Speaker 3: I love the way Fern like it. There's a light
- 34:56Speaker 3: bulb in Fern's head where she's like, you know, she
- 35:00Speaker 3: asked him the question. He immediately responds back and she's like, Oh,
- 35:03Speaker 3: I used to do this to my droid all the time,
- 35:05Speaker 3: and we've even seen it happen because it happened in.
- 35:07Speaker 4: The first episode.
- 35:08Speaker 3: So it gives you reference as an audience member as
- 35:11Speaker 3: like not just a throwaway line like no, she actually
- 35:15Speaker 3: did this before. And when there's an override, you see
- 35:19Speaker 3: the complete change of sme and.
- 35:22Speaker 5: This should be our final ad break, So y'all, thanks
- 35:26Speaker 5: for bearing with us.
- 35:27Speaker 2: We appreciate y'all. We'll be right back.
- 35:30Speaker 3: And it turns into like a very dark horror like
- 35:34Speaker 3: the way the camera moved.
- 35:36Speaker 2: This was probably my favorite part of the episode, Like cinematography,
- 35:41Speaker 2: direction wise, I love this.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Yeah. Remind me of like how scary the the Dark
- 35:45Speaker 4: Trooper droids were, Yeah, Manday when they came out for
- 35:48Speaker 4: the first time. All those missing was just like that
- 35:50Speaker 4: Scrillix esque thing from Ludwig and it would just been
- 35:53Speaker 4: been so sick us. So I just tragic for me, man,
- 35:56Speaker 4: because like at that point in the episode, I was
- 35:58Speaker 4: really like, Man, I was really feeling for for for
- 36:01Speaker 4: me man like he's a droid, Like he's a droid
- 36:04Speaker 4: the but he's like, just because he's a droid doesn't
- 36:07Speaker 4: mean that this dude, Like I hate the way Fern
- 36:08Speaker 4: talks about droids. It feels he feels like like when
- 36:10Speaker 4: like when Captain Jack cos it's racist. It feels racist
- 36:15Speaker 4: whenever they do it. And I know a species, but
- 36:18Speaker 4: I hate when people are mean to droids. I hate
- 36:19Speaker 4: when people are mean to droids. It just makes no
- 36:21Speaker 4: sense to me. But like it's tragic because because you
- 36:25Speaker 4: because he's trying to like play on the the empathetic
- 36:28Speaker 4: side of a droid when he's talking to him right
- 36:30Speaker 4: when he's trying to get him and be like tell
- 36:31Speaker 4: me more about like or whatever, try to remember, try
- 36:34Speaker 4: to remember, and he's trying to like this empathetic approach
- 36:36Speaker 4: of like we'll fix you, buddy, but no, all he
- 36:38Speaker 4: really wants is like the treasure. So everyone's disrespecting this man.
- 36:41Speaker 4: And then the last episode they were so like ready
- 36:44Speaker 4: to go risk it all to go save him, and
- 36:46Speaker 4: then to have him like against his will, try to
- 36:49Speaker 4: go kill these kids is really really rough, especially if
- 36:51Speaker 4: you love droids. In the in the series. You know,
- 36:54Speaker 4: I love K two s O, I love N D
- 36:56Speaker 4: five and Outlaws, I love the the Human A time
- 37:00Speaker 4: of time to like a droid dude. I love those guys.
- 37:02Speaker 4: And yeah, it's so tragic. I just hope that he's
- 37:04Speaker 4: not like gone. I don't I didn't want the trailer ringers.
- 37:07Speaker 4: I don't know like what they turned. I thought I
- 37:10Speaker 4: thought someone was getting there chopping his head off and
- 37:13Speaker 4: he was gone or something.
- 37:14Speaker 3: I hope that he's not gone, because, like I said,
- 37:16Speaker 3: he's been my favorite part of the entire series so far.
- 37:19Speaker 3: I love Neil, I love all the characters so far,
- 37:22Speaker 3: but me has been a staple from me since the beginning,
- 37:26Speaker 3: and he's.
- 37:26Speaker 4: Not even even yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Yeah, and so I really hope that like they get
- 37:32Speaker 3: to somehow turn it around for him to be on
- 37:36Speaker 3: the good side.
- 37:37Speaker 2: I don't think he's gone because I think they're going
- 37:40Speaker 2: to try to.
- 37:41Speaker 4: Yeah, they just always always find the off switch or something.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Yeah, So I think they're gonna like dismantle his arms
- 37:48Speaker 2: probably and try to like modifie.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Yeah, because what would it n be saying Like in
- 37:53Speaker 4: the episode, she's like she's like, there's only like ten
- 37:55Speaker 4: million circuits and I was like, like ten million circuits break line.
- 38:01Speaker 4: She was just like, oh yeah, no, no worries, I
- 38:03Speaker 4: can do that. Yeah, So I'm sure she'll fix them up.
- 38:05Speaker 4: And I would love to see like a full on
- 38:07Speaker 4: n B episode or like something focus on her trying
- 38:10Speaker 4: to fix this dude up so she can see the
- 38:12Speaker 4: humanity and the droid. I would love an episode that's
- 38:14Speaker 4: just me thinking out loud, but I would love an
- 38:16Speaker 4: episode of them like really bonding and.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Because she's she's I feel like she's the character that
- 38:23Speaker 3: is really to herself, you know, compared to everybody else,
- 38:26Speaker 3: So you know they could bond in that way.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Yeah, do you guys think that we're going to go
- 38:32Speaker 2: to one of the other nine planets.
- 38:34Speaker 6: And like maybe, yeah, we're gonna get the coordinates, but
- 38:41Speaker 6: could be a thing that that planet is also jacked,
- 38:43Speaker 6: Like we have no idea.
- 38:45Speaker 4: This is what two of two of two of nine. Now.
- 38:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know if I would absolutely hate or
- 38:51Speaker 3: love the fact that this would become like a Planet
- 38:55Speaker 3: of the Week type like series.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Well, they're not going to hit every planet because there's
- 38:59Speaker 2: only four up left.
- 39:00Speaker 3: True, but like that's what I mean, Like, are the
- 39:02Speaker 3: next four episodes going to be four new planets, you know,
- 39:07Speaker 3: besides the last episode, because you assume, of course they
- 39:09Speaker 3: get back home.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it'd be interesting to see how they figure it out.
- 39:12Speaker 4: I wonder if it's going to be a thing if
- 39:14Speaker 4: they like because they have they have coordinates. They've they've
- 39:16Speaker 4: been really big on coordinates this year. There's somebody on
- 39:20Speaker 4: threads a god can't remember his handle off the top
- 39:25Speaker 4: of my head, but he went harder on the r
- 39:28Speaker 4: best than I did on the scroll, and it was
- 39:30Speaker 4: like looking at the coordinates and was looking at all
- 39:32Speaker 4: all the things, and some of these coordinates were he says,
- 39:35Speaker 4: I'm gonna look at the coordinates to see these like
- 39:36Speaker 4: match up and stuff. So I think that then mentioned
- 39:38Speaker 4: accordances this much and showing us this much because we've
- 39:40Speaker 4: never really seen this kind of thing. How often are
- 39:43Speaker 4: coates mentioned in Star Wars. So I wonder if they're
- 39:45Speaker 4: going to try and figure it out and like really
- 39:47Speaker 4: try to piece it together like an old school kind
- 39:49Speaker 4: of scene where they try and figure out and pinpoint it.
- 39:52Speaker 4: And if they pinpoint it that way, I'd be down
- 39:54Speaker 4: for them just to go to at in next episode.
- 39:57Speaker 4: If like that's how they do it, or they can
- 39:59Speaker 4: go another episode, have another adventure. I'm cool. So I
- 40:02Speaker 4: keep seeing flashes of like some big monster thing or something.
- 40:05Speaker 3: Now, so is is next episode the Bryce Dallis Howard episode?
- 40:11Speaker 2: No. Next week is Jake Schreier? Then episode six is
- 40:15Speaker 2: the bry Styles Howard episode.
- 40:16Speaker 3: All right, so remind me again who is Schreier? And
- 40:20Speaker 3: do I know any of his bolts?
- 40:23Speaker 2: I think is what he's doing?
- 40:25Speaker 3: Oh, okay, he's so he's he's Has he done anything else? Though?
- 40:31Speaker 2: He did beef?
- 40:35Speaker 4: Oh beef? Yeah?
- 40:37Speaker 2: Yeah, he's directing Thunderbolts. That's really the biggest things that I.
- 40:44Speaker 4: Directed to Kanye West music videos and the Justin Bieber
- 40:48Speaker 4: and Benny Blanco music video.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Huh oh.
- 40:53Speaker 4: He's also directed an episode of Dave. He's probably the
- 40:56Speaker 4: one with any Blanco that's interesting. A musical episode maybe
- 41:01Speaker 4: late Oh.
- 41:02Speaker 3: He's done Robot and Frank Papertowns is another one that
- 41:06Speaker 3: he's done.
- 41:10Speaker 4: I don't know nothing about them shows.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I am not familiar with a lot of his stuff,
- 41:18Speaker 3: so we'll see.
- 41:19Speaker 4: How how you know I'm down. I'm down because those
- 41:22Speaker 4: directors usually swing big dude, they always I haven't seen
- 41:25Speaker 4: Beef either. Everyone says it's good, but I remember.
- 41:29Speaker 3: That Beef is the one with the with Stephen Ewing.
- 41:32Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, I heard about like the real life drama
- 41:35Speaker 4: with that when of the actors was like, I don't
- 41:36Speaker 4: want to watch that. Yeah, the story, the story was good,
- 41:40Speaker 4: so I I'm expecting some cool stuff, but I spent
- 41:43Speaker 4: itself with with the Daniels and I got let down there.
- 41:46Speaker 3: So yeah, very very true. Well, I think that's it.
- 41:53Speaker 3: We covered the episode fairly quickly. Again, this was very short.
- 41:57Speaker 3: I think it was twenty eight twenty eight minutes un total,
- 42:00Speaker 3: I think, But I think overall, like without the credits rolling,
- 42:05Speaker 3: this episode is like I think twenty five.
- 42:07Speaker 4: Give them an hour, give them an hour. All of
- 42:11Speaker 4: the issues I have with it? What could be feeled
- 42:13Speaker 4: if you just had longer episodes?
- 42:15Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. No, And maybe that comes with the
- 42:20Speaker 3: fact that, like you know, we everybody again compares this
- 42:24Speaker 3: to like, oh well, at least the pitch was Stranger
- 42:27Speaker 3: Things in Space. If this does end up getting the
- 42:30Speaker 3: seasons of Stranger Things, maybe we'll get that extension on
- 42:34Speaker 3: run time as well. But we'll see for sure. But again,
- 42:40Speaker 3: I think that is it for the episode aging, is
- 42:44Speaker 3: there anything that you would like to pimp out as
- 42:47Speaker 3: far as your works, your videos and all that tell
- 42:49Speaker 3: people where they are.
- 42:50Speaker 4: I mean you can follow. My coverage is a little
- 42:53Speaker 4: bit more in depth and you know, thought out and
- 42:56Speaker 4: edited and all those things that, but why they're not
- 42:59Speaker 4: net as always And then for everything else just at
- 43:02Speaker 4: superuse ninety three kind of really where we're at. I'm
- 43:04Speaker 4: not on Blue Sky because I feel like Blue s
- 43:06Speaker 4: guy's like just like another one to get on there.
- 43:07Speaker 4: I don't want to get on another one. So mostly
- 43:09Speaker 4: threads and Instagram these days, lots of TikTok and yeah,
- 43:14Speaker 4: just posting things that make me feel good. Go see
- 43:18Speaker 4: these episodes, and please just think about like this more
- 43:24Speaker 4: than just cutes and think about it as like the
- 43:27Speaker 4: sandbox it is to tell really cool stories, and they
- 43:30Speaker 4: can tell these stories, and kids can handle these stories.
- 43:33Speaker 4: You're already making them do it, so go all the
- 43:35Speaker 4: way please.
- 43:37Speaker 3: Yeah, of course with me. You can always find me
- 43:41Speaker 3: at fanboy Clay on Twitter, on Blue Sky, I am
- 43:45Speaker 3: on threads. I'm still I guess jungling, like juggling to see.
- 43:50Speaker 4: What really, I don't know, man, it was the first place.
- 43:52Speaker 4: I posted all of like my my r best stuff
- 43:55Speaker 4: there first and like that's what people like liked it.
- 43:57Speaker 4: No one looked at it on Twitter, so I was like,
- 43:59Speaker 4: all right, Twitter, and if you don't care about the
- 44:01Speaker 4: about me saying.
- 44:02Speaker 3: Move on to the to where the views are, That's
- 44:05Speaker 3: where I'm at. I totally understand that for sure. Of course,
- 44:10Speaker 3: I teased it, uh last week, not ready to announce
- 44:15Speaker 3: it yet because it's not the new year, but Ranger
- 44:17Speaker 3: Alliance is going under some construction. There's gonna be some
- 44:21Speaker 3: new stuff hitting in January. It's gonna be very, very fun, uh,
- 44:25Speaker 3: so be on the lookout for that. I know that
- 44:30Speaker 3: Adrian has played it. I have conversated with the guys
- 44:34Speaker 3: over at Ranger Alliance. Also, we are looking into and
- 44:38Speaker 3: planning either a live stream or a video playthrough of
- 44:46Speaker 3: rewind be exclusive to Patreon. We're not entirely sure yet,
- 44:51Speaker 3: but either way we are planning to play it. So
- 44:55Speaker 3: that's fun exactly.
- 44:59Speaker 4: Yeah, we will.
- 45:00Speaker 3: I'll definitely reach out to you, Adan, so you could
- 45:03Speaker 3: possibly be on the lookout for that as well. Katie,
- 45:07Speaker 3: what about you, y'all?
- 45:08Speaker 2: You can find me on most social media platforms as
- 45:11Speaker 2: Spice of Katie. I don't spend a ton of time
- 45:13Speaker 2: on them, but if you send me a message or
- 45:17Speaker 2: you shoot me a tweet or a thread, I tend
- 45:21Speaker 2: to get back to you. So yeah, you can find
- 45:25Speaker 2: this show on Twitter at Star Wars lines at the
- 45:27Speaker 2: eight and the war is very important to forget it.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Please also remember that you can shoot us text or
- 45:34Speaker 2: leave us a voicemail at the banner we always forget
- 45:36Speaker 2: to populate it is eight three zero five three eight
- 45:39Speaker 2: four eight two eight. You can also shoot us an email.
- 45:42Speaker 2: It's the same user name as our Twitter account at
- 45:45Speaker 2: gmail dot com. We will not be live next week,
- 45:50Speaker 2: very important. Next week is Christmas.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Yes, next week is Christmas. There is going to be
- 45:58Speaker 3: an episode, but we will talk very minor thoughts on
- 46:05Speaker 3: it when we also cover episode six, so we'll be
- 46:13Speaker 3: crunching into that. We don't want to make the episode
- 46:15Speaker 3: too long and cover them completely. We'll hit the highlights
- 46:19Speaker 3: of that episode for sure. If they drop any big bombs,
- 46:23Speaker 3: we will definitely talk about those, So don't worry about that.
- 46:27Speaker 3: But just don't expect an extravagant three hour episode just
- 46:31Speaker 3: because we're covering two episodes.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Correct and next week y'all, we will be going into
- 46:37Speaker 2: completely non spoiler thoughts on the Mask of Fear, the
- 46:43Speaker 2: first book in the new trilogy that Random House World
- 46:46Speaker 2: is doing, Reign of the Empire. I think it is
- 46:50Speaker 2: the name of the trilogy. I'm so like, y'all, I'm
- 46:53Speaker 2: so tired. I'm sorry, but we will, Clay, I will
- 46:59Speaker 2: be talking completely nonspoiler thoughts because that book is not
- 47:02Speaker 2: out until the end of February, but we did get
- 47:06Speaker 2: an early copy and there's no embargo, so we want
- 47:11Speaker 2: to go ahead and kind of like I do too.
- 47:14Speaker 2: I'm on chapter fifteen.
- 47:17Speaker 3: See, I did the thing where I'm just putting in
- 47:21Speaker 3: my headphones pressing read aloud on our app and it
- 47:27Speaker 3: sounds disgustingly robotic, but at least I'm getting all the
- 47:30Speaker 3: information while I'm doing chores and everything else.
- 47:33Speaker 2: So yeah, I should probably do that, even though it's
- 47:37Speaker 2: also of books, and I was like, I like the
- 47:38Speaker 2: audio books more agent.
- 47:43Speaker 3: I always go for the audio books, which is why,
- 47:46Speaker 3: like Adrian, I don't know if you've ever attempted to
- 47:52Speaker 3: read a seventy two chapter book as quickly as possible.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Katie can blink and be done with it twice like
- 48:00Speaker 3: that's yeah, my wife.
- 48:01Speaker 4: I want to get to my wife's machine. I was like,
- 48:03Speaker 4: I don't, I don't. I don't get it, but you know,
- 48:06Speaker 4: put me at two time speed, bro, I got you Like.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Hey, Clay, let's hey, I finished it? Hey, you want
- 48:12Speaker 3: to see me do it again? It's like damn, like
- 48:15Speaker 3: slow down?
- 48:17Speaker 2: I finished? What was it? I have darkness? I had
- 48:20Speaker 2: pregnancy insomnia my first trimester. Like really bad?
- 48:23Speaker 3: You finished? You finished? I of well, no, no.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I have darkness in twenty four hours.
- 48:29Speaker 3: Yeah, you finished it in twenty four So.
- 48:33Speaker 2: I will get it done this weekend. But yes, completely
- 48:38Speaker 2: non spoiler thoughts because we want to give y'all a
- 48:40Speaker 2: perspective on this book, knowing that it's kind of a
- 48:43Speaker 2: different genre than what typically comes out of Random House Worlds.
- 48:47Speaker 2: So being able to let you guys know, hey, should
- 48:49Speaker 2: we pick this book up or not? So that is
- 48:51Speaker 2: what you can expect next week the day after Christmas. Uh,
- 48:57Speaker 2: but uh, we hope you guys do have a merry Ristmas,
- 49:00Speaker 2: enjoy next week's Skeleton Crew episode. And for now, I
- 49:05Speaker 2: hope you guys have a fantastic day or night. When
- 49:08Speaker 2: I'm attempting you are listening or watching, and we will
- 49:10Speaker 2: see y'all next time they forced to be with you
