- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to Dirty Rush The Truth about SERRITI Life with
- 0:04Speaker 1: your hosts me Gia Judice.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Daisy Kent, and Jennifer Fessler.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Hi, guys, welcome back to another episode of Dirty Rush.
- 0:15Speaker 3: So today I have a very special guest. Well, she's
- 0:18Speaker 3: very special, and she's also very special to me. You
- 0:21Speaker 3: guys may actually know her, But I have some guy
- 0:24Speaker 3: named Annie Sharp, and you may recognize the name and
- 0:28Speaker 3: or the face from a very popular radio show to
- 0:31Speaker 3: say the least, called Jeff Lewis Live. By the way,
- 0:34Speaker 3: you guys were broadcasting this from Vail, Colorado, where I
- 0:40Speaker 3: am spending a week with my family, And yeah it is.
- 0:44Speaker 3: It's really beautiful here, really fun. I don't ski, so
- 0:47Speaker 3: probably wasn't the vacation for me necessarily. But anyway, we
- 0:51Speaker 3: are taking a break from the break because I am
- 0:53Speaker 3: so obsessed with my little miss Annie.
- 0:56Speaker 1: No, I literally am obsessed. Every time you come on
- 0:58Speaker 1: the show and they mention you on like I love
- 1:00Speaker 1: that bitch. They always make fun of me. Do we're
- 1:04Speaker 1: like kindred spirits?
- 1:05Speaker 3: Well, I feel like Andy, like you're kind of me
- 1:08Speaker 3: at that, like at your age, I feel like I
- 1:10Speaker 3: was a lot like you. And it's so funny because
- 1:12Speaker 3: having you on dirty Rush, because I also I was
- 1:16Speaker 3: a sorority girl at a southern school, University of Texas.
- 1:20Speaker 3: You were at full Miss, right, and I was a
- 1:23Speaker 3: Texas I was an Aphi. But I think I was
- 1:26Speaker 3: the least sorority girls sorority girl ever at least that's
- 1:29Speaker 3: kind of how I felt and how I feel now,
- 1:32Speaker 3: even though I'm obsessed with everything you know sorority but
- 1:36Speaker 3: like you do not. I don't think you give sorority girl.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I don't exactly what I mean by that.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I was very defiant of the like sorority things, but
- 1:45Speaker 1: I'm like a girly girl. I like to party. I
- 1:47Speaker 1: want to put on.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Cost early girl right, but like.
- 1:51Speaker 1: The sorority girl aspect of it, like where we had
- 1:53Speaker 1: to like show up to things and like be sober
- 1:57Speaker 1: and like be a community. I just was like not
- 1:59Speaker 1: down in college. Like the blue lipstick, I couldn't. So, yeah,
- 2:06Speaker 1: what does it mean the blue lipstick?
- 2:08Speaker 2: I don't know what that is.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Oh. I was at Kappa Kapagamma, so everything was our
- 2:12Speaker 1: colors were blue on blue, okay, and so everything was blue,
- 2:15Speaker 1: so everyone would like spray their hair blue. Do the
- 2:18Speaker 1: blue lips blue eyeshadow, and every time I did it
- 2:22Speaker 1: like it was so ugly.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Well, well, you could never be ugly.
- 2:26Speaker 3: But I also feel like maybe also conformity is not
- 2:29Speaker 3: necessarily your thing. No, right, at least start, I'm getting
- 2:33Speaker 3: way ahead of myself. First of all, tell the people
- 2:36Speaker 3: where you went to school and what sorority were in,
- 2:38Speaker 3: even though we just mentioned it, because Okay, I.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Went to the University of Mississippi also known as ole
- 2:43Speaker 1: Miss and I was a Kappa, Kapa Gamma, and it's
- 2:47Speaker 1: it's a good house there, but there's very like a deep,
- 2:51Speaker 1: deep rooted like sororities that are like KD and tried out.
- 2:54Speaker 1: They're like all Mississippi girls. And then there's so those
- 2:58Speaker 1: are the tip top houses, and then there's like other
- 3:00Speaker 1: top houses, but they're not full of Mississippi girls, which
- 3:03Speaker 1: I would say are find you, DG and Kappa. And
- 3:08Speaker 1: so we're all on one street. Did you have sorority houses? Yeah, okay,
- 3:12Speaker 1: so we're only on one section of campus, and then
- 3:14Speaker 1: there's all the other ones that are on like another
- 3:16Speaker 1: section that it is like Kyo eighty pi whatever, it
- 3:21Speaker 1: doesn't matter. So I was a Kappa and I only got.
- 3:26Speaker 1: I did not want to rush. I didn't even want
- 3:27Speaker 1: to go to college. And then my sister was a
- 3:30Speaker 1: year ahead of me, and she went. And she's like
- 3:33Speaker 1: type A to a T, like she was getting into
- 3:37Speaker 1: a good sorority, like her life dependent on it.
- 3:39Speaker 2: But she went. She went to Ole Miss.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, a year before me.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Just a quick a fie.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Why did you guys wild miss them? You were living
- 3:46Speaker 3: in Texas at the time.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah, So she found it and she loved it, and
- 3:50Speaker 1: we're eighteen months apart. And then I didn't want to
- 3:53Speaker 1: go to college. I was like, I'm gonna move to
- 3:55Speaker 1: la and be a star.
- 3:57Speaker 2: And my parents were like, no, you did do that then,
- 4:01Speaker 2: But okay, well.
- 4:02Speaker 1: They were like college first. They always believed in. But
- 4:05Speaker 1: they were like, chill, like let's do college. Let's be
- 4:08Speaker 1: a little bit traditional. So then I didn't apply anywhere
- 4:11Speaker 1: for school because I didn't want to go. And then
- 4:15Speaker 1: it came out like exceptan sunder started coming out and
- 4:18Speaker 1: I think my sister had applied me to ole Miss
- 4:20Speaker 1: herself in ways like the only place, so I was accepted.
- 4:23Speaker 1: So then was my parents were like, you're going I.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Got to meet your sister. She sounds like the best.
- 4:28Speaker 1: No, she's the best. She's a hardcore bitch, but like
- 4:31Speaker 1: in the best way. One of us, no, literally one
- 4:34Speaker 1: of us.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Okay, So you go to the quintessential Southern like Greek
- 4:40Speaker 3: life school, right, and were you going with the intent
- 4:44Speaker 3: to rush, like you went in because your sister knowing
- 4:46Speaker 3: that that was going to be part of this experience
- 4:48Speaker 3: for you.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I was. If I was going to ole Miss,
- 4:51Speaker 1: which I was, I was going to rush, Like there
- 4:53Speaker 1: was no way I wasn't going to rush, right, But yeah,
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'd like and I was very intern the rush process,
- 5:01Speaker 1: like I'd always say, like I've an open mind. I
- 5:03Speaker 1: really wanted to be a fine U because I'm obsessed
- 5:06Speaker 1: with pink. I want to be a fine mean so bad.
- 5:09Speaker 1: And I met like three five mews and I got
- 5:13Speaker 1: cut like the first round I think, and then after that.
- 5:17Speaker 3: But your sister was president of Kapa and you still
- 5:21Speaker 3: don't be in Kappa.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Well, because I wanted to be different. I was like
- 5:24Speaker 1: I'm already going to her school, I know, but then
- 5:27Speaker 1: I got there and like during rush. I don't know
- 5:30Speaker 1: how your rush experience was, but like you go to
- 5:32Speaker 1: each house and they pull the girl and talk to you.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I would go into Kappa and everyone would be like
- 5:38Speaker 1: catering to me, so excited to see me because I
- 5:40Speaker 1: was a sister of an active so I was like,
- 5:43Speaker 1: got a legacy, right, and so the attention I got there,
- 5:48Speaker 1: I mean like I'm flattered, right, Kapa.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that was always how it was. I mean I
- 5:53Speaker 3: remember the swordy I ended up in as well. Well,
- 5:55Speaker 3: there were two Jewish sorties and I wanted to be
- 5:58Speaker 3: in one, but it was Yeah, it was a different feeling,
- 6:01Speaker 3: certainly than going into the other stories where they didn't
- 6:04Speaker 3: know who I was and didn't really care. But anyway, okay,
- 6:07Speaker 3: so do it any like crazy wild rush stories from from
- 6:12Speaker 3: the week.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Do you remember my rush wasn't was very obvious from
- 6:18Speaker 1: the start, like my sister was an act of Kapa.
- 6:20Speaker 1: There was no way any other house was going to
- 6:22Speaker 1: take me. So I kind of got screwed so and
- 6:26Speaker 1: I thought I was like, oh, I have an open mind,
- 6:28Speaker 1: and then like I just started getting caught by everyone cool,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and then I had like the two loser houses left
- 6:32Speaker 1: in Kapa, and I was like, okay, like.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I can't with you.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I don't mean to, but we all know
- 6:41Speaker 1: there's Luther houses.
- 6:42Speaker 2: This show is called Dirty Rush. We're all on the
- 6:45Speaker 2: same page.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Go, okay, good, good, But then what was so sick
- 6:49Speaker 1: is my junior year, they were redoing the Kappa House
- 6:53Speaker 1: and the worst sorority on our campus got kicked off
- 6:56Speaker 1: campus because they were so bad and no one wanted
- 6:59Speaker 1: to pledge them, and so that we had to live
- 7:01Speaker 1: in that in the loser house for a year.
- 7:05Speaker 2: What is that? What do you mean? Wait, no one
- 7:07Speaker 2: wanted to They had an empty house.
- 7:09Speaker 1: You hadn't have an empty house. The chapter got kicked
- 7:11Speaker 1: off our campus because they had such a bad repeta
- 7:15Speaker 1: okay from my understanding, Okay, I thought that house was vacant.
- 7:18Speaker 1: So then they're like, oh, we can stay in that house.
- 7:20Speaker 2: But then we like, did you like living in there?
- 7:23Speaker 2: Living there?
- 7:23Speaker 1: In the end, I didn't end up living in the
- 7:25Speaker 1: house because they made us live in the other house.
- 7:27Speaker 3: I didn't want to, Okay, Okay, Well, all right, so
- 7:31Speaker 3: I'm abread to so tell me a little bit about
- 7:33Speaker 3: how all miss the greek life and specifically the sorority
- 7:38Speaker 3: system is different than other schools.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It's very okay. So there's this thing during rush on
- 7:46Speaker 1: what I wasn't like on the side where I was
- 7:48Speaker 1: like getting sordid whatever it's called, when I was on
- 7:52Speaker 1: the side of like deciding it's so crazy, Like we
- 7:55Speaker 1: go through every single girl. We have like slide shows.
- 7:59Speaker 1: We all like vote and like say what we know
- 8:03Speaker 1: about them, and it's like a chapter of over four
- 8:05Speaker 1: hundred women and we're like looking at the slideshow. Oh,
- 8:08Speaker 1: I know her. I went to high school with her.
- 8:10Speaker 1: She's does this, this, and this. I dated her brother
- 8:14Speaker 1: one time. She yelled at her mom like the craziest,
- 8:17Speaker 1: Like the craziest.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Do you think, like, obviously you're conscious in the fact
- 8:21Speaker 3: that that this is so like Ole Miss is just
- 8:24Speaker 3: so known for this right, for being so intense in
- 8:26Speaker 3: terms of Greek life, but so a picture not I
- 8:31Speaker 3: don't know, obviously not everyone at Old Miss is involved
- 8:34Speaker 3: in Greek life, but I just picture it as, you know,
- 8:38Speaker 3: so intense, specifically the rush process, but also like we
- 8:44Speaker 3: see the videos on TikTok and you know it is
- 8:49Speaker 3: it's like these choreographed dances that look like it's you know, profet,
- 8:53Speaker 3: Like was it.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Always like that? Was it that intense when you were there?
- 8:55Speaker 1: You wouldn't believe the drama like we go to the
- 9:00Speaker 1: house for work week the week before Rush starts, our
- 9:03Speaker 1: school starts. I think Russian also, And there's one girl
- 9:07Speaker 1: that's like Rush chairman, the themes, the way she yells
- 9:10Speaker 1: at us, like the friendships that are falling apart, the tears,
- 9:14Speaker 1: it's insane. I'll never forget it. Like we had a
- 9:17Speaker 1: rehearsal yes, and we're like jumping and clapping and we're
- 9:21Speaker 1: getting screamed up by our peers. It was insane. But
- 9:23Speaker 1: one time we went home and they were so mad
- 9:26Speaker 1: at us because we whatever. I don't remember why they
- 9:29Speaker 1: were so mad at us. I think we didn't like
- 9:30Speaker 1: dress up enough for the themes and we weren't taking
- 9:32Speaker 1: it seriously enough, so they sent us home. And then
- 9:35Speaker 1: they had an optional practice that night, but they threatened us,
- 9:39Speaker 1: you have to come, but it was an optional practice,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and I'll never forget. I was like sitting at my
- 9:44Speaker 1: apartment and my friend two of my friends came over
- 9:46Speaker 1: and they're like, are you coming, And I was like, no,
- 9:49Speaker 1: like it's option, I'm not going. And they literally looked
- 9:52Speaker 1: at me tears in their eyes. You're not going to
- 9:54Speaker 1: support me?
- 9:56Speaker 2: Oh, come on, are you kidding me now? I'm not.
- 10:01Speaker 1: The girl literally was like if you didn't dress up.
- 10:07Speaker 3: And you're like laughing at her, You're like like dudella.
- 10:13Speaker 1: No, when I would dress like like one time, our
- 10:16Speaker 1: theme I think was like rock and roll and I
- 10:18Speaker 1: dressed up was Kesha, but not even just like it's
- 10:22Speaker 1: like really ugly. Just I did not plan ahead. Neither
- 10:27Speaker 1: did my whole friend group. None of us planned ahead.
- 10:29Speaker 1: We just all looked like we put on a pile
- 10:31Speaker 1: of like we looked terribly. I love that.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I mean I feel like that's I would want to
- 10:35Speaker 3: be in that sorority like that. Roorty would actually call
- 10:38Speaker 3: me and Kapa were like that.
- 10:40Speaker 1: No, most of the girls like were picture perfect, cute,
- 10:44Speaker 1: like put together right. No, my like one of my
- 10:47Speaker 1: my last week of school, this girl that was like
- 10:49Speaker 1: the perfect twint essential Kappa I'm still friends with there.
- 10:52Speaker 1: She was in San Diego Now. She came up to
- 10:54Speaker 1: me and she was like, are you guys are alcoholics?
- 10:57Speaker 1: Like you guys have problems? Like, well, love my reputation.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Let me ask you this. It's just another like quick aside.
- 11:19Speaker 3: But does if you guys who's over listening, don't listen
- 11:22Speaker 3: to the Jeff Lewis Show. I just did they all
- 11:24Speaker 3: know there that you may not get this? But did
- 11:25Speaker 3: they all know there that you were at Old miss
- 11:27Speaker 3: and authority?
- 11:28Speaker 1: They know, but they don't get it. Like it's the
- 11:31Speaker 1: kind of thing that like if you know, like southern schools,
- 11:34Speaker 1: you get it, or I don't think they get it,
- 11:37Speaker 1: Like I just say, oh, I went to a party school.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I just love that your career path is so fabulous
- 11:47Speaker 3: and it just is so doesn't follow.
- 11:50Speaker 2: You know, the beaten trail. What's that? Expecially in my
- 11:53Speaker 2: mind your aide off the beaten path?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Thank you?
- 11:57Speaker 3: And but being a sorority feels it's so structured, right,
- 12:01Speaker 3: and I feel like you're such not a structured woman,
- 12:05Speaker 3: and so it's like I kind of.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Enjoy picturing you.
- 12:07Speaker 3: And so having said that, you told me that your
- 12:11Speaker 3: sister was constantly having to get you out of shit, right, Like, yeah,
- 12:14Speaker 3: she trouble, which doesn't surprise me.
- 12:17Speaker 1: So like I told her I was doing this podcast
- 12:20Speaker 1: and she was literally like any please want and blair
- 12:23Speaker 1: us our chapter. I'm like, you're twenty eight years old,
- 12:26Speaker 1: why do you like? But I didn't care when I
- 12:31Speaker 1: was in it, But like we had functions all the time.
- 12:34Speaker 1: So one night we had like a date party. I
- 12:36Speaker 1: cannot remember the Oh it was my tie. Have you
- 12:39Speaker 1: heard of my tie?
- 12:40Speaker 2: No?
- 12:41Speaker 1: So my tie. We always had themes. So my tie
- 12:44Speaker 1: was you pick a date for your friends, and the
- 12:46Speaker 1: way you do it is you get your the dates
- 12:50Speaker 1: tie and the girls are wearing it at the pregame,
- 12:52Speaker 1: and then the guys show up and they find the
- 12:54Speaker 1: girl wearing their tie, then that's your day. And so
- 12:57Speaker 1: it was that day party and I kind of miss
- 13:00Speaker 1: those kind of things, like those were so fun. But
- 13:02Speaker 1: we go to the bar and I'm pretty sure I
- 13:06Speaker 1: used the fake to get into the bar. I think
- 13:08Speaker 1: I was underage, and me and my friend were like
- 13:10Speaker 1: walking around, we're already absolutely wasted. I drank out of
- 13:13Speaker 1: a baby bottle in college, a straight fireball, like a psychopath,
- 13:17Speaker 1: and I brought it to the bar with me. We
- 13:20Speaker 1: get there, we go into this like closet that we
- 13:23Speaker 1: thought was the bathroom, and it turns out it was
- 13:25Speaker 1: the liquor closet, and we're like hell yeah. So we're
- 13:28Speaker 1: doing like full photo shoot, like climbing up the ladder
- 13:32Speaker 1: like in these tiny little dresses, like acting insane, and
- 13:36Speaker 1: then we walk out and we're both wearing our dates jackets.
- 13:40Speaker 1: So we both put bottles in the pockets of the
- 13:42Speaker 1: jackets and we're absolutely belated, and we get the hats
- 13:46Speaker 1: and we put them on backwards because there were like
- 13:48Speaker 1: some employees left their hats in there. And we walk out.
- 13:50Speaker 1: We're both wearing hats that say Swag and these jacket
- 13:54Speaker 1: coats or whatever, and then we're walking around. Then they
- 13:59Speaker 1: grab us in immediately and they like take the stuff
- 14:02Speaker 1: and they're like, what the heck you guys whatever, and
- 14:04Speaker 1: we're just like who whatever, like move on party. And
- 14:08Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, I hear that they called
- 14:10Speaker 1: the cops, and so I called my fate.
- 14:13Speaker 2: So arety sisters called the cops? Or that bar?
- 14:15Speaker 1: The bar okay because we rated a liquor closet even
- 14:19Speaker 1: though we gave everything back, and we're just like being dumb,
- 14:22Speaker 1: like whatever, probably shouldn't have done that, but whatever. So
- 14:25Speaker 1: I called my friend and he comes and drives to
- 14:27Speaker 1: the front and he picks us up literally as the
- 14:30Speaker 1: police are pulling up. We're like jumping in the getaway
- 14:32Speaker 1: car and like getting away.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Oh my god, you cam from the cops. I cannot
- 14:38Speaker 2: I cannot with you.
- 14:41Speaker 1: They brought the footage to my now brother in law,
- 14:43Speaker 1: who was my sister's boyfriend, and they were like, because
- 14:45Speaker 1: they knew he was the boyfriend of the president, and
- 14:47Speaker 1: they were like, do you know who these girls are?
- 14:49Speaker 2: Yeah? And the king why was he a cop? No?
- 14:52Speaker 1: No, no, he just was like my sister's boyfriend. So
- 14:55Speaker 1: they knew, like the president would know everyone.
- 14:56Speaker 2: The boyfriend probably okay, okay, And.
- 14:58Speaker 1: They couldn't find Ellie. I think Ellie was my sister
- 15:01Speaker 1: was dealing with whatever, a drunk girl throwing up somewhere.
- 15:05Speaker 1: And so they asked Ethan and He's like, I have
- 15:07Speaker 1: no idea who they are.
- 15:09Speaker 2: How many times has he said that about you?
- 15:11Speaker 1: My love? He was a king, like the amount of
- 15:14Speaker 1: times I called him like can you come pick me up?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Can you come pick me up?
- 15:17Speaker 2: Well, tell me that. But then, so, did you get
- 15:19Speaker 2: in trouble, you just have to get you out of it.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Yes, So we got called to standards, me and my
- 15:24Speaker 1: friend Anna and I worked for the school newspaper and so,
- 15:29Speaker 1: and I am terrified of confrontation, like really yeah, yeah,
- 15:35Speaker 1: Like if I'm gonna be in trouble and I know
- 15:36Speaker 1: I did something wrong, I cannot stand there and hear
- 15:39Speaker 1: my punishment like I just get so it's bad. I
- 15:42Speaker 1: need to learn to work through that. But anyway, so
- 15:45Speaker 1: I had a job, so I was like, I have work,
- 15:48Speaker 1: I can't come to standards. And so my friend had
- 15:51Speaker 1: to go to standards by herself and she got yelled
- 15:53Speaker 1: at and then by like a girl in our sorority
- 15:58Speaker 1: like I'm just like it's so dune, yeah, and yeah,
- 16:01Speaker 1: we just got in trouble. And then I don't I
- 16:04Speaker 1: don't think anything really happened. It's like a slap on
- 16:07Speaker 1: the wrist and then nothing.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Was your sister.
- 16:09Speaker 3: There was your sister like always saved you or other
- 16:11Speaker 3: the other girls like oh yes.
- 16:12Speaker 1: And my sister was the reason I didn't get in
- 16:15Speaker 1: trouble because she's like it's Annie, Like you guys know Annie,
- 16:18Speaker 1: and they're like, yeah, she's crazy.
- 16:21Speaker 2: They is to get pissed at you for it.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Oh oh yeah. My mom's phone would just be like
- 16:28Speaker 1: blowing up both of us, like Ellie did this and
- 16:31Speaker 1: and Annie did this. Annie's so embarrassing. She gets so
- 16:34Speaker 1: drunk and blah blah blah. And then my sister like
- 16:37Speaker 1: didn't drink till she was didn't have a sip aboutcol
- 16:39Speaker 1: till she was twenty one, and even once she turned
- 16:41Speaker 1: twenty one, she's.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Like, come on, are you serious. Yes, she's by the books.
- 16:46Speaker 2: That's why she probably made president ever of Kapa.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah. And people in the sorority so like whenever
- 16:52Speaker 1: there was like a functions you had to go to,
- 16:55Speaker 1: you had to like check in for attendance, and so
- 16:57Speaker 1: Ellie would have to like mark everyone so and me
- 17:00Speaker 1: and her look so similar and there's four hundred girls
- 17:02Speaker 1: until people would come up to me and be like, Ellie,
- 17:05Speaker 1: I'm here, and I'd be like, gotcha, literally no clue
- 17:09Speaker 1: that they are not writing them.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Any I wish i'd ask Ellie to come on too.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I know her version of this. You have to like
- 17:19Speaker 3: we have to bring her on. So all right, so
- 17:22Speaker 3: poor little Ellie, no or Ellie, because I say I
- 17:25Speaker 3: was going to say to you before that like usually
- 17:27Speaker 3: be saved to people, to the guests that come on.
- 17:30Speaker 3: If you don't want to say the name of your
- 17:31Speaker 3: sorority or even where you went to school, or you
- 17:34Speaker 3: want a fake name. And I didn't even say that
- 17:36Speaker 3: to you, shame on me. But like exactly, that's the
- 17:40Speaker 3: thing I knew you would be, like, the.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Best thing they ever did was give me a bit
- 17:48Speaker 1: they regret it probably, Well, no.
- 17:49Speaker 2: They don't regret it. There's no way they do.
- 17:51Speaker 3: But do you, because I think like your sister's also
- 17:53Speaker 3: must be so proud of you. Do you keep in
- 17:55Speaker 3: touch with a lot of them? Yeah?
- 17:57Speaker 1: I actually do. It's interesting because when I was in college,
- 18:01Speaker 1: I had a friend group and I still am friends
- 18:03Speaker 1: with them, but and we're close. But now since I've
- 18:06Speaker 1: left college, I've expanded. There's like five girls from Ole
- 18:10Speaker 1: Miss Kappa's that live in LA and San Diego, and
- 18:13Speaker 1: I just I text them all the time, we hang out.
- 18:15Speaker 1: One girl's gonna be my stylist for like the upcoming year,
- 18:19Speaker 1: which is so fun. I know, it was just like
- 18:21Speaker 1: fun and interesting how I've connected with these girls like
- 18:25Speaker 1: postgrad that I literally never spoke to in the sorority
- 18:29Speaker 1: when we were there together, but like they just feel
- 18:31Speaker 1: like home because I mean really yes, oh yeah, any
- 18:36Speaker 1: girl in my sorority if I called them, absolutely they're
- 18:40Speaker 1: like crying, like or if I needed something and I
- 18:43Speaker 1: was in towent, like they would absolutely drop anything to
- 18:45Speaker 1: have dinner or really well.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Oh for sure, I didn't feel like that.
- 18:49Speaker 3: I definitely and and because I moved out of Texas
- 18:52Speaker 3: so quickly after I graduated, I didn't keep in touch
- 18:55Speaker 3: with as many. I mean, I'd to keep in touch
- 18:57Speaker 3: with with some of them close friends, but like I
- 19:00Speaker 3: didn't have that feeling of camaraderie and like sisterhood as
- 19:04Speaker 3: much as it sounds like that, you did, like somebody
- 19:08Speaker 3: that would even if they were a Kapa period, they
- 19:10Speaker 3: would drop everything. Would you drop anything for any Kappa
- 19:12Speaker 3: or just Kappas that went to ole miss.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Oh oh miss Kappas not. It's just I feel I mean,
- 19:21Speaker 1: whenever people are like, oh, I'm a Kapa, I feel
- 19:23Speaker 1: like it's cool. Like some of my friend's moms are Kappas,
- 19:26Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh my gosh, like it just makes
- 19:28Speaker 1: me like them more. I don't know why, because Kappas
- 19:30Speaker 1: are different. Every sorority is different at every school, right,
- 19:34Speaker 1: there's just something about it where I'm like, Okay.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Like what do you feel like Kapas are known for?
- 19:38Speaker 3: Like you know, if you had to sort of characterize
- 19:40Speaker 3: them as something.
- 19:41Speaker 1: At my school, we were really fun and like we
- 19:44Speaker 1: didn't really take things that seriously.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Were they party girls?
- 19:48Speaker 1: We were absolutely party girls. Oh yeah, but we weren't.
- 19:52Speaker 1: There was like party girls sluts, and then there was
- 19:54Speaker 1: party girls and we were just party girls.
- 19:57Speaker 2: There had to be some sluts in it. I could
- 19:58Speaker 2: be great.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Oh for sure. HER's slut's everywhere.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Yeah exactly. I was one of them.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Yes, okay, yeah, so that's really I love that you
- 20:06Speaker 3: could just you guys would just even if you weren't
- 20:08Speaker 3: great friends.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Just no, I'm telling you. So, I just you know,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I just broke up with my boyfriend and I'm like,
- 20:14Speaker 1: oh my god, like I want to reach out to
- 20:16Speaker 1: girls and whatever and make more friends and form deeper friendships.
- 20:20Speaker 1: And there's this girl name's Kelly. She was an active
- 20:22Speaker 1: KAPA with me, and she's a year older than me,
- 20:24Speaker 1: and I just damned her on Instagram. I said, let's
- 20:26Speaker 1: hang send her my number and she was like, oh
- 20:28Speaker 1: my god, yes, I can't wait. So we're making plans since,
- 20:31Speaker 1: like we haven't spoken since maybe rush in college.
- 20:36Speaker 2: That's crazy. Yeah, I love that. So I'm going to
- 20:53Speaker 2: ask you this, but I know the answer. I mean,
- 20:55Speaker 2: would you do it again?
- 20:56Speaker 1: A million percent? Yeah? Yeah, I mean how are you were saying? Like,
- 21:00Speaker 1: I'm not like I don't really like to be conformed to.
- 21:05Speaker 1: They had this I don't know, you didn't have social
- 21:07Speaker 1: media whenever you were in your surporty, but they were
- 21:10Speaker 1: crazy about what you posted and you weren't allowed to
- 21:14Speaker 1: be on elevated surfaces, right, I know that nows like
- 21:18Speaker 1: bad words, and so they had this account and they
- 21:21Speaker 1: would comment. It was like an anonymous account and they
- 21:23Speaker 1: would comment like blue hearts, and you would have to
- 21:26Speaker 1: take it down.
- 21:27Speaker 3: No, I've heard about this a lot of We've talked
- 21:29Speaker 3: to a lot of girls that talk about this, Like
- 21:30Speaker 3: they would leave a little whatever emoji and that means
- 21:33Speaker 3: you're in trouble.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Take it down.
- 21:35Speaker 1: So one time they called me and they're like, can
- 21:37Speaker 1: you be in charge of this anonymous account monitoring your
- 21:42Speaker 1: pledge class on Snapchat? If you ever see anything, just
- 21:44Speaker 1: respond blue hearts. I was like okay, and I just like, I.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Don't have to be on a narc They know you
- 21:52Speaker 2: at all. Why did they never ask you to do that?
- 21:56Speaker 1: You like, you love social media?
- 22:00Speaker 2: Really would give ah someone was doing you can go,
- 22:02Speaker 2: You like go girl.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Queen Sligh, Literally you're eating You're eating exactly wait, so
- 22:10Speaker 3: I asked you before. But also like how do you
- 22:12Speaker 3: explain it? I'm not gonna say like Jeff Lewis, but like,
- 22:15Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm sure it doesn't come up that
- 22:17Speaker 3: often on the radio, but in general, like when people
- 22:20Speaker 3: meet you, is it you try to explain that that
- 22:23Speaker 3: experience because it does. See it feels so far kind
- 22:26Speaker 3: of from who you are.
- 22:28Speaker 1: It does, and I feel like it almost it dumbs
- 22:31Speaker 1: me down a little bit. People that don't get it, like, oh,
- 22:34Speaker 1: you went to a southern party school and you're a sorority.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I mean honestly, John, Like really yeah, they are like,
- 22:41Speaker 1: oh your degree.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Doesn't anyone that meets you knows You're not dumb?
- 22:45Speaker 1: But okay, you'd be surprised though, like people just immediately
- 22:48Speaker 1: like serrat, Like if I say I went to n
- 22:50Speaker 1: y U and I was in a sorority, I feel
- 22:52Speaker 1: like it's a completely different picture someone would paint of
- 22:54Speaker 1: me and all myths has that attached to it, that's
- 22:57Speaker 1: so interesting, Well because it's also Ssissippi, and I don't know,
- 23:03Speaker 1: it's interesting. Yeah, So I don't really love the like
- 23:06Speaker 1: stereotype of it, but I'm not. I mean, I don't
- 23:09Speaker 1: really care. Like that's why I love Paris Hilton so
- 23:12Speaker 1: much because I think she has such like a stereotype
- 23:15Speaker 1: of being a dumb bitch.
- 23:15Speaker 2: And she's not all right, just brilliant and so like I.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Really respect that and I love that type of lifestyle
- 23:22Speaker 1: because like then no one takes you too seriously and
- 23:24Speaker 1: you're always impressing people.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, said that about you.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Like he was talking one morning about your parents, meeting
- 23:32Speaker 3: your parents, and like he was just saying to them
- 23:34Speaker 3: like I'm so impressed with her, or like even to me,
- 23:37Speaker 3: He's like, like I admire Annie.
- 23:40Speaker 1: That's so sweet.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I means I didn't say it. He did.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Yeah, Like thanks Jen, true.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Yeah, So I mean anything else you want to add
- 23:50Speaker 3: here about your would you say, would you go to
- 23:52Speaker 3: Old Michigan.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I've thought about that a lot, and I think I would.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I loved it, like I really and I don't feel
- 24:01Speaker 1: like it held me back from anything, but it was
- 24:04Speaker 1: a cool experience, like it's a small town and we
- 24:07Speaker 1: would I'd be wasted on the side of the street,
- 24:10Speaker 1: like it's a party school. I cannot like emphasize that enough,
- 24:13Speaker 1: Like I would just be underage wasted on the side
- 24:16Speaker 1: of the street, like getting myself into trouble and the
- 24:18Speaker 1: cop would be like, give me your phone, I'm calling
- 24:20Speaker 1: you an uber, like you're okay, and they would like
- 24:23Speaker 1: it was like a no fails, Like they would kind
- 24:26Speaker 1: of give you a billion chances before you got in trouble.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Like one time I was at a bar and I
- 24:30Speaker 1: was so upset something happened with some random guy and
- 24:33Speaker 1: I was so drunk and I just fell all the
- 24:35Speaker 1: way down the stairs and I'd get to the bottom,
- 24:37Speaker 1: so humiliating, and a cop called me an uber and
- 24:39Speaker 1: I get home.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I cannot.
- 24:41Speaker 1: I would go there again because it was just a
- 24:43Speaker 1: safe place to like grow grow like as a person.
- 24:47Speaker 3: And also I could be wrong, but I feel like
- 24:50Speaker 3: with you, if you guys ever have the pleasure of
- 24:53Speaker 3: meeting Annie, it's like it's I don't feel like you
- 24:56Speaker 3: could anyone could ever really get mad at you, like
- 24:58Speaker 3: you just pish all. If anyone gets mad, I picture
- 25:00Speaker 3: you just crying.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I do not what I'm saying. I can't kill a confrontation.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Right, so then you just like which reminds me of
- 25:08Speaker 3: my daughter Rachel, who I mean, she got a driver's license.
- 25:13Speaker 3: She like the first week she hit someone not a tree.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Oh my god, person okay, Like, no, she hit a person, okay,
- 25:22Speaker 3: and she it was some man. He was pissed. He
- 25:25Speaker 3: got out of his car because it was a crosswalk.
- 25:27Speaker 3: And she became so hysterical and the cops came that.
- 25:31Speaker 3: They were all comforting Rachel, like I'm like talking to her.
- 25:34Speaker 2: She can't breathe.
- 25:35Speaker 3: She puts me on the phone with the cops. The
- 25:37Speaker 3: cops are like, she's gonna be okay. I'm like, well, yeah,
- 25:40Speaker 3: but it's the man that she hitit go to me, okay,
- 25:44Speaker 3: but you remind me of that, Like you're like, there's
- 25:46Speaker 3: just it'd be hard to ever really be mad at you.
- 25:49Speaker 1: No, my parents when I was a kid, they'd be like,
- 25:51Speaker 1: we're not going to punish you because you punish yourself enough,
- 25:54Speaker 1: because I would just be like crying. I feel so bad.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I just well listen.
- 25:59Speaker 3: I mean, just last question, But do you feel like
- 26:02Speaker 3: ole Miss is though the stereotype that people think that
- 26:06Speaker 3: it is and the soorty life there, Like I mean
- 26:09Speaker 3: I picture it in such a I went to a
- 26:12Speaker 3: southern school and I was in a storty but like
- 26:14Speaker 3: ole Miss is like the ultimate do you think it
- 26:16Speaker 3: lives up to that?
- 26:17Speaker 1: I do I mean it's it's so sick and like
- 26:21Speaker 1: the people you meet and like the Mississippi legacy, I
- 26:24Speaker 1: mean a Katie and a Tradale, and like the fraternities
- 26:29Speaker 1: and like parties, like it really is crazy and like
- 26:33Speaker 1: thinking back on it, I'm so like thankful I got
- 26:36Speaker 1: to experience it. It was just like being in it, you
- 26:39Speaker 1: don't realize like what you're in because rush TikTok didn't
- 26:43Speaker 1: blow up until I think I was like a senior
- 26:45Speaker 1: in college, and so I didn't realize like what I
- 26:50Speaker 1: was a part of. And it's just so cool, Like
- 26:52Speaker 1: I love it. I love all the people I met,
- 26:55Speaker 1: what I learned, Like all the parties were so fun,
- 26:59Speaker 1: the fraternity parties, like the bars, and I was sick.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I would go again in two seconds. The game day
- 27:06Speaker 1: of it all good good And what's cool about the
- 27:10Speaker 1: South is like everyone is like sees you as family
- 27:13Speaker 1: like and so it was very welcoming and like home.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Immediately you recommend it, like there are to our listeners.
- 27:21Speaker 3: There are I'm sure there are girls listening that are
- 27:24Speaker 3: still in high school and you know, thinking about which
- 27:27Speaker 3: school go to and about Greek life. Would you recommend
- 27:30Speaker 3: it to let's say girls here on the East Coast.
- 27:33Speaker 1: I would recommend it to anyone that ask me why
- 27:35Speaker 1: this should go to college, Like it is so fun, okay,
- 27:38Speaker 1: and I learned so much And I'm very much mentality
- 27:40Speaker 1: because I was a broadcast journalism major, and you get
- 27:44Speaker 1: out what you put in, so like you don't necessarily
- 27:46Speaker 1: need to get a's, but you need to know, like
- 27:49Speaker 1: what your in goal at the end of colleges and
- 27:51Speaker 1: you're going to be successful. So my goal was networking
- 27:55Speaker 1: and like social media and reality TV and pretty and whatever,
- 28:01Speaker 1: and so I did internships that could get me there.
- 28:04Speaker 1: So then I didn't necessarily need to take my classes
- 28:06Speaker 1: as serious. So I did like the school news station,
- 28:10Speaker 1: and then my sororities. I was able to have fun
- 28:12Speaker 1: and like not worry about getting all aas. I didn't
- 28:14Speaker 1: need all aays. Do you think Jeff Lewis knows my GPA?
- 28:17Speaker 2: It doesn't matter, don't I don't.
- 28:19Speaker 3: But to those high school girls listening, get all a's
- 28:22Speaker 3: if you go.
- 28:22Speaker 1: You don't have to spend on what you want to do.
- 28:24Speaker 1: If you want to be an accounting you want to
- 28:25Speaker 1: be a doctor, yeah you do, yes, well, like I
- 28:29Speaker 1: think that's we're also a thing like with people that
- 28:33Speaker 1: because I'm like, oh, I partied a lot in college, Like, well,
- 28:35Speaker 1: what did you learn? I'm like, I worked my ass off.
- 28:39Speaker 2: You do learn a lot being a story also.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I mean, I think it's so much of not all,
- 28:43Speaker 3: not every career choice, but so many careers are about being.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Able to connect with people, right.
- 28:49Speaker 3: And I feel like every job I ever had, and
- 28:51Speaker 3: I had a lot of them when I was your age,
- 28:52Speaker 3: I was always switching jobs, but I was very easy
- 28:55Speaker 3: for me to get jobs because I'm I like that
- 29:00Speaker 3: process of interviewing, Like it was like rush, Like I
- 29:03Speaker 3: like having my personality on and like connecting with people.
- 29:06Speaker 3: And then you know, being in the jobs I was,
- 29:09Speaker 3: I always had friends whatever job it was, and I
- 29:12Speaker 3: always was like kind of I don't mean this in
- 29:15Speaker 3: an obnoxious way, but but but kind of loved and
- 29:17Speaker 3: I was really never good at my job.
- 29:19Speaker 1: But you're a personality higher.
- 29:21Speaker 3: It was a personality higher, and I feel like that's
- 29:23Speaker 3: something maybe that when you're in a sorority, that's a
- 29:27Speaker 3: great you know, to be able to learn how to
- 29:29Speaker 3: get along specifically with you know, other women, And I
- 29:34Speaker 3: feel like those are those are lessons that you take
- 29:36Speaker 3: with you.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Now. I think networking is the secret to success, like.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Just yeah yeah, but also.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Nurturing those relationships, like, oh, you're in college and your
- 29:48Speaker 1: dad knows someone that does what you want to do.
- 29:51Speaker 1: You email them once and you move on. No, like
- 29:53Speaker 1: you have to call them, get to know them, let
- 29:56Speaker 1: them in on your life, and like become their friend,
- 29:59Speaker 1: have them see you as their own kid. Like, you
- 30:01Speaker 1: need to really invest in relationships and then people want
- 30:05Speaker 1: to help you and see you. And it's not just
- 30:07Speaker 1: using people like you're growing. That's how you enhance your life.
- 30:10Speaker 1: You learn about people that are successful and they teach
- 30:12Speaker 1: you things and you teach them and whatever.
- 30:14Speaker 2: You are very wise, my girl, it's fun. Yeah, I
- 30:18Speaker 2: love you. I love you for coming on. We're gonna
- 30:21Speaker 2: have you one again. Please maybe with your sister?
- 30:23Speaker 1: Yeah, actually she would, she so should.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Oh wait, can I shout out my new YouTube channel?
- 30:29Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 30:30Speaker 1: I dropped my first vlog today because I broke up
- 30:33Speaker 1: with my boyfriend like a week ago and I had
- 30:36Speaker 1: my first like single girl weekend and so I went
- 30:39Speaker 1: shopping and parties and just trying to get my bring
- 30:41Speaker 1: out things. So I was dating him for like four years.
- 30:44Speaker 1: So it's been pretty dark, but it was so fun.
- 30:49Speaker 1: I yeah, I'm trying to stay sober, but then I
- 30:52Speaker 1: ended up getting drunk because Jeff and Shane were like,
- 30:55Speaker 1: you should numb it, and I'm like, it didn't numb it.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I sobbed and so anyways, run a journey and I'm
- 31:03Speaker 1: trying to vlog about it and make it fun so
- 31:05Speaker 1: I can distract myself. So subscribe Annie. My YouTube is
