Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello! And welcome back to Chartered Accountants Global Update.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: I'm glad you're here.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: This episode has one focus and it's a genuinely important one.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Chartered Accountants Worldwide, working with our member institutes and Ipsos, has just launched the second wave of a global research study into how artificial intelligence is reshaping our profession.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: And we need to hear from you.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Not predictions from consultants or headlines from technology press, but actual data from people doing the work.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Wave 2 builds directly on that.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: The aim is to track how member perspectives have moved since then, and to do it across three distinct areas of AI adoption.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Traditional AI, the kind of automation and data processing that's been quietly present in our tools for years.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Generative AI, the large language models now, drafting, summarizing, and analyzing at speed.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: And agentic AI, systems that don't just respond to a prompt, but take a sequence of actions on their own.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Those are three very different technologies, moving at three very different speeds, and this study treats them that way rather than lumping AI together as one blur of change.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Here's why this matters beyond the survey itself.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: The findings from this research will directly shape strategy and leadership decisions across the global profession.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Not in some abstract someday sense.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: This is the evidence base that Institute Leaders and CAW itself will draw on when deciding how to support members through this transition.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: And that only works if the evidence reflects reality.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Your experience on the ground, whatever that looks like day to day, whether AI has changed almost nothing about your role or reshaped it completely, is exactly the input this study is built to capture.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Without that input, the profession is left responding to AI on guesswork.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: With it, CAW and the member institutes can build something closer to a coordinated, evidence-based response.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: That's the difference this survey is meant to make.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: The practical details are simple.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: The survey takes about 15 minutes.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Every response is confidential, and results are only ever reported in anonymized aggregated form, so nothing you say is traced back to you individually.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: You'll find the link in the show notes for this episode, and it's also in the newsletter this script is drawn from.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: If anything about the study isn't clear, your institute representative can help.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Or you can reach out directly to Bree Walker at Ipsos, whose contact details are also in the show notes.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: 15 minutes of your time now genuinely feeds into decisions that will affect how this profession adapts over the next few years.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: It's a small ask with a real payoff.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: That's this episode.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: Take 15 minutes, share your perspective, and help shape how Chartered Accountants Worldwide and its member institutes respond to AI going forward.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: Thanks for listening.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Until next time.
