- WIBA and ask the experts. Talking this morning with our good friend from Larson Home Services, Andrew Larson, who is also a JJ Watt doppel ganger. Andrew, how you're doing this? I'm doing fantastic. Has anybody told you that before? Has anybody said to you you kind of look like JJ Watt? Yeah? I have random people come up to me in random places and think that I am him. Oh gee, it's kind of a running joke. Um. Yeah, from Florida to Connecticut, New York City, like it's there's worse people to look. Yeah, I'm telling you that that is definitely a compliment. That is for sure. Of course we are talking to the one and only, the genuine Andrew Larson. Of course, Andrew comes to us from Larsen Home Services. The website mentioned Larsenhomeservices dot com. That's l A R. S O N HomeServices dot com. Telephone number six O eight five three forty three forty three. That's five three five forty three forty three. And it's been dry, it's been smoky, and people don't always think about what happens when we get the inevitable rain and that other age, the other things that come along with it, which is gutters. And let's talk about gutters and talk a little bit about um gutters at Larsen Home Services and what you guys are able to do for folks when it comes to that world. Yeah, how many years have we been talking gutters on this show? Probably we're probably coming up on is it safe to say a decade? I mean, we've got to be close. It's been it's been a very very long time. And you know, our company's really it's it's grown, it's morphed. It was like a little fledgling baby and we were just doing gutters and gutter protection and we've kind of expanded into you know, experts from the attic up with home performance work and insulation, air ceiling and roofing, and now we're really starting to get in. We talked about last week roof restoration and saving people from actually replacing their roof. But gutters is where it really started. And gutters is where I started from a gutter installer to a gutter salesperson and then sales manager and a general manager and then finally opening and running my own Larsen Home Services. Now since man, I'm an age myself like yesterday, but it's been twelve thirteen years anyway, it's been a while. So gutters, we forget to talk about it sometimes because it seems it seems so simple. But and when we're just always busy with gutters, and it's really interesting to see what happens when it doesn't rain. When it doesn't rain, we get slow, which is something that never happens. We're never slow. People don't obviously when it comes to gutters overflowing water in the basement. You know, it's a pain point if we're getting heavy rains and thunderstorms and people are seeing their gutters overflow and they're worried about water getting their basement or is water getting in their basement, And then when it doesn't rain, people just forget about it, which I completely can understand. But with as dry as it has been, I mean, really no significant rain in two months. I mean I think it was early mayish end of April, I had like four inches of rain at my house and it literally has basically sprinkled since that. So ground is dry, ground is cracked, ground is starving for water, and gutters aren't overflowing. But inevitably we will get rained. Yes, the rain will come, and like typical fashion, how it's kind of been over the past few years, it kind of seems like we get it all at once, and when that ground is that dry, it's a lot easier for that water to pass through. And I mean my point being is that when we do get a bunch of rain now, it could make it more severe for foundations and basements. So I've been telling my reps when they're out doing estimates, you know, we're giving some really really, I'm just calling it a drought special right now because our biggest concern in my company is just keeping keeping our people busy. We want to keep people working. You know, nobody wants to not have work. So we're making really good deals. So for anybody that is interested, because it's crazy, but it is almost July, and it goes We talk about this, I think every summer too, Shawn, like how fast it actually goes. Yes, in summer, but inevitably we're going to get rain. Stuff will fall off, the trees, gutters will get clogged. Now really is and when I mean when I say it really is, it really is a great time if you're considering getting an estimate or considering actually redoing the gutters, so you don't have to do anything. Give us call now because we're running some really great deals on gutter shutter right now. We just want to keep working. And yeah, it's kind of like our loss is your gain type of thing. Right now, it's a really good time to call Andrew and the team at Larstorm Larsen Home Services start that conversation about gutters shutter and again it's a prime time right now as well with great deals. And of course for a lot of folks because we haven't had the rain, it hasn't been on their mind, which needs a good time to get them out from Larstome Services. Beat that inevitable rush that's going to come once the rain starts falling and get those phenomenal deals right now. Pick up phone, gimm a call six eight five three forty three forty three. That's six eight five three five forty three forty three for Larsnome Services, the website Larsen Home Services dot com. That's l A R. S O N Home Services dot com. And let's talk about gutter shutter and the some of the great benefits which makes it far from an ordinary and ordinary gutter. When we're talking gutter shutter, we're talking about a complete system. We're talking about an engineered system that is designed to keep you off the ladder. Yeah. Well, a few things that I really really really like about it. Ay. Well, first off, as it works really really really well, it's important. Yeah, but there's reasons for that. It is a full six inch gutter. So when I say it can handle anything, and we can go forty fifty sixty seventy foot spans with one downspout if need be, we could never do that before. We had to have downspouts every thirty to forty feet to be able to handle a roof. But with gutter shutter and being six inches, it can handle anything we throw at it. Now, you take that six inch gutter and you team that up with a three by four inch downspout and a four by six inch wide mouth and that's the connector. That's what connects the gutter to the downspout. So now you've got like you've got almost like a large funnel four by six inch hole inside the gutter going into the downspout. There's I have never seen a water or a rain, a rainstorm, or a rain fault that's going to that's going to overwhelm this gutter system. Also, it's a three two, so it's the thickest aluminum used to make a seamless gutter product. Also, it has a high back on it, meaning that doesn't honestly sean that doesn't mean much to most people. But in our world, we don't have to flash this gutter. We don't have to make any sport special sort of roof flashing to the gutter. We use your current roofing system, which means we do nothing to compromise your roof. It slips up under the drip edge and the cover goes over the top of that. Now, if people haven't seen, I don't know how you couldn't. Like, I can't even open Facebook without seeing myself hang from a gutter. I'm familiar. It really is strong. We had somebody comment the other day because we've got the one of me doing a couple of pull ups and me hanging and dropping off, and then we've got another one, a picture of three guys from our team hanging from like a sixt gutter. And we weighed them before we put them on there, and they were they were like six a little over six hundred pounds and then me hanging from it, and somebody commented, this is a nice try, but that's obvious that the first guy was standing on a stool and the other people were laying on their backs well, which which I thought was great because most people would probably think that if you know anything about gutters, you would think that you can't hang from the gutter like that. There's no way six hundred pounds. It's it's all completely legit. It's true. We're really doing it. I'm hanging from the gutter, and those other guys again, like six hundred and eleven pounds were hanging from it. That's how strong the bracket is. Yeah, So the bracket is that strong. It has two three inch screws that go into the facial board, where every other gutter system out there is going to have one screw. The bracket's not going to be strong enough to hold the gutter. So it truly is the strongest, most durable gutter system on the market. The other gutter system that we sold, if if I would have even attempt to put pressure on the front of the gut or the whole gutter would have just opened wide open. It's just that's the way it would have worked, so um lots of great stuff. Andrew and looking at the you know, kind of the cross section of gutter shutter, and you mentioned the brackets and and and you know that reinforcement is not only as you mentioned, the thickest gauge of aluminum available for gutters, but having that that bracket in there to reinforce. You talk about, you know, people that are questioning and and you know, you talk about six hundred pounds like there's no way, there is no way. When you start looking into the engineering of this stuff, you're going, six hundred pounds, that's nothing. This is this this thing, this thing is designed to hold and to last. I mean, that's that's you're talking about, just a significant engineered structure holding the internals of that together. That that again, as a homeowner, you don't need to worry so much about what's on the inside. You want to worry about is it going to last? How's it going to hold up to heavy rain? And how's it going to hold up to snow? How's it going to hold up to this stuff? And there is no question these things are absolute lutely designed to hold up and take on anything that Mother Nature throws their way. That's that's that's the point. I mean we've talked before temperature extremes here in Wisconsin. Yeah, you know, negative thirty in the winter, one hundred degrees in the summer, lots of extreme temperature changes, and you need something that's strong that's gonna last. I mean, if we lived in a mild mild area where you know, we don't get super cold and you don't get lots of ice, you know, maybe it's not as big of a deal. But we do get massive rains. Like I said, the last rain that I got at my house, I got four inches. I mean, my downspallts looked like a fire hose water coming out of them. It's sucked in every single drop. And then winter you get the ice in the snow. And I've got some steel roof on my house, and I'm gonna tell you it's the first time I've ever had steelroof on my house. I had Honestly, I thought it was an earthquake. When the snow let loose and started sliding auction it like, it shook my house. I was like, what is that? And then it just but guess what, It just skipped right over the top of the gutters. Now, with a normal open gutter, I can almost guarantee that snow would have grabbed the front of it and it would have ripped it right off the house. Right. We guarantee that's never going to happen. We guarantee against ice or snow, We guarantee against cloge, overflow, leaking, you name it. Once you put it on your home, if there's a problem, you just pick up the phone and call. We send someone out. We fix it, no questions asked, never a charge. So it really, it truly is kind of a one and done. It's pretty deal, pretty amazing stuff.
