- 2:49Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, I've watched the game a couple times now and I'm here With my man, jimmy Reno.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Fsu contributor, college football recruiting contributor.
- 3:01Speaker 2: What's up, man?
- 3:03Speaker 2: It's all I know.
- 3:05Speaker 2: You enjoyed that one.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, oh.
- 3:10Speaker 2: My gosh, it was great man.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I mean, it was great.
- 3:15Speaker 3: May have lost the year five off of my life in the first half.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Those calls were atrocious.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:24Speaker 3: And I did notice they didn't really wasn't really, though.
- 3:27Speaker 2: some of them it was the lack that they just totally Didn't call some of them they're like no, we're just not gonna call that.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, there was a FSU was getting held, per usual.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I'll give them.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I'll give them this.
- 3:40Speaker 3: They didn't really call holding either way.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Throughout the game right.
- 3:44Speaker 3: At least they were consistent with that.
- 3:46Speaker 3: But yeah that, that the first half was bad, but man, god what a response.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Well, it's just everything just hit at halftime.
- 3:56Speaker 2: The adjustments hit the players and we're fired up.
- 4:00Speaker 2: They listen to those adjustments because you could see it, they scored every day at gun time.
- 4:05Speaker 2: They got the ball and that's what their coach told them they could do and yeah, it wasn't any any brilliant you know schematic adjustment.
- 4:14Speaker 3: They just kind of made a little tweak Yep In that backfield right right, that's all it took and what a weapon.
- 4:20Speaker 2: What a weapon.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I mean, you could see on the first play of the game they had a guy when, wilson, you know, they opened the field for what?
- 4:29Speaker 2: Johnny Wilson?
- 4:30Speaker 2: Because they had to get safety run over at Jane Bell.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Jane Bell, they knew about him.
- 4:35Speaker 2: What a weapon.
- 4:36Speaker 2: He switched the adjustment to move him to the backfield in the second half is just what a, what a.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Yeah, the utility weapon to have the move to, to the double back in the backfield in the second half was and not just you know they moved him around, they had him line up in pistol with Benson, you know, to Jordan's right or left right, and it's just like that's what you can do with him.
- 5:02Speaker 2: It's almost like just wait, setting him up and you can see Norvel is doing a great job of doing that a lot.
- 5:09Speaker 2: You want to see him here?
- 5:10Speaker 2: Well, you haven't seen him here, and then you're gonna do you can do different things the utility knife man, it and, and and what.
- 5:16Speaker 3: What I want to point out is, offensively, keon Coleman, jehean Bell.
- 5:22Speaker 3: You know that five of your touchdowns right there, 54 snaps for Keon Coleman, 53 for Jehean Bell, that led the way.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Everybody on offense minus Jordan Travis and the offense of linemen, so yeah that shows you right there.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Yeah, man as a matchup problem, that you have to identify those two guys if you're a defensive coordinator, especially when you see that they let they led all special, all those Positions other than the quarterback in the line in snaps.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and anybody on the offensive side of the ball Keon Coleman, you know led that skill position, skill positions, yeah it, the transfer portal man, they, they went out and they, they got two weapons right.
- 6:12Speaker 2: And I'll be honest, I mean, you know, well, we were talking about, you know, pittman as a punt return, but goodness gracious, you could be placed him with a first-round NFL wide receiver.
- 6:21Speaker 2: That came out with three Touchdowns.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that looked like NFL touchdowns either, like NFL throws, and he just gets the ball With strength in his hands, any high points at very well.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that his first touchdown.
- 6:39Speaker 3: It kind of it embodies what he brought to FSU that they didn't really have yet.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Yeah speed somebody that big to be able to change direction and accelerate that quickly and it.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You know that that was kind of that next level guy in that wide receiver room, jeheem Bell, and I Don't.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I'm struggling to really remember a guy with as much versatility so many wrinkles.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Yeah, that was.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Just of what a wrinkle, extraordinary air.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it just got.
- 7:12Speaker 2: We got it.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I bet there's there's so many places you could see him line up.
- 7:15Speaker 2: He can play anywhere.
- 7:17Speaker 2: He can play wide receiver.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Yeah, he'll play.
- 7:20Speaker 3: He'll play in the slot he, you know it, if they needed him.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Yeah, on the outside and I'm sure they have more do that More wrinkles with him.
- 7:28Speaker 2: That's.
- 7:28Speaker 2: The exciting part about it is that there were so many weapons that didn't get touches in this game that we thought would, but though, but you're, you saw Immediately they were going to use as matchup problems right, and there's guys that that only had a few touches that like may maximize those touches that, like I said, my, my unsung hero of the game Is Lawrence Toa Fili.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah, his, his touches might have been as big as any of the the touchdowns.
- 7:58Speaker 2: And he looks like a body by storms too, and he, he looks like he has gotten bigger.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Every year he looks like a different guy.
- 8:04Speaker 2: They all do well, especially if those sweet uniforms yeah, first of all.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Oh my, goodness, how good was that.
- 8:10Speaker 2: It was beautiful.
- 8:11Speaker 2: How good was that seminal fans to see To find me not to say that the I understand why they did the design.
- 8:18Speaker 2: I guess I knew what it stood for.
- 8:20Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 8:20Speaker 2: But what they they the tradition that they went back to put that on the on the collar, put that on the end of the sleeve and let the color shine.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Baby, it looked so good.
- 8:32Speaker 3: To me it classic, to me it.
- 8:34Speaker 3: They looked like fresh garnet jerseys again.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked really good and it just looked like a bigger, faster team.
- 8:42Speaker 2: It reminded me of a Florida State team with those uniforms.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm gonna last time they had with those were like 2013.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I'm glad you brought up 2010s.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Yeah, as you brought up that body by storms, I mean he.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I Mean that that's his big.
- 8:58Speaker 3: He's his big impact on what you saw Sunday night, right as any of the coaching.
- 9:03Speaker 3: You see it, you could see it.
- 9:05Speaker 3: The fourth quarter Did.
- 9:06Speaker 3: They were playing as fast as they were in the first Lsu was just they were done, they had been bullied and they wanted no more of it.
- 9:15Speaker 3: And that man.
- 9:18Speaker 2: What a what on the defensive side of the ball especially Get you fired up.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Is that that development?
- 9:25Speaker 2: You see it from guys in the, in the, in the backup positions, like a guy like Joshua farmer.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Look at the size he's put on since he's been here.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, he looked really good.
- 9:33Speaker 2: You know he looks like a just a beast that could start at other places.
- 9:37Speaker 2: This is what you have to have if you're going to be at a championship level.
- 9:42Speaker 2: You have to have rotation of guys so you can get that maximum effort every play, because it's such a demanding position.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it's, I mean it's, it's farmers, money here.
- 9:51Speaker 3: You know, he's coming into this season, as this is gonna be my last one at FSU.
- 9:57Speaker 2: What about on those you have like, do they rotated it pretty clean.
- 10:01Speaker 2: It briggs with this Briggs.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it was interesting that the number one thing that that stands out is, you know, the number of snap counts on that defensive tackle position.
- 10:10Speaker 3: Yeah you know, fabian love, it was only a total of 20 as I love seeing that.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think that's ease him back in ease him back in Fisk.
- 10:18Speaker 3: You know that 32 whiskey.
- 10:19Speaker 3: He made his impact, but they, they, they rotated it very nicely.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I, malcolm Ray, he played a lot.
- 10:28Speaker 3: He played a lot.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Malcolm Ray was was a guy that was on there out there at the position as much as anybody really.
- 10:34Speaker 3: I, I didn't, I don't know.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I kind of would have liked to see a little bit more of farmer, but I get it.
- 10:40Speaker 3: With guys that big, you really have to Keep them fresh.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Yeah, an interesting thing about the defensive tackle position and all this blue chip ratio, yeah, and everything you know.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Florida State went into that game.
- 10:53Speaker 3: You've dominated that game up front Without a single defensive tackle.
- 10:58Speaker 3: That was a blue chip coming out of high school.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Which it is a designation of a four or five star right.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Well, yeah, yeah, four or five star, that falls within, I guess, like the top 250 or something like that.
- 11:08Speaker 3: I know Dennis, dennis Briggs was a you know he was borderline composite guy, but the point is that a majority of those guys.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Yeah, we're under it.
- 11:18Speaker 3: I mean, you look at Fiske man.
- 11:20Speaker 2: He was an all-faceted fine, yeah, he's everybody's alignment for a reason.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Yeah, coming out of high school, right, and now you look at him.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Yeah, you could see man he's an absolute animal out there.
- 11:32Speaker 3: It's just Storms.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Man, like I think that guy and you saw, you saw Mike Norville in the post game, in the locker room, you know he shouted out storms and that's really a testament to what he is instilled in the strength program.
- 11:46Speaker 3: You know, just the continuity, that, the stability.
- 11:51Speaker 2: But man, they, they, they look good, it looked good, especially in the second half, in the first half you know there were some there- were some penalties.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Yeah, they didn't look.
- 12:00Speaker 3: They didn't look terrible.
- 12:01Speaker 3: No, I mean they made some mistakes.
- 12:03Speaker 2: No, I mean, LSU has talent.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Yeah, lsu was gonna score they do they, and I'm gonna you know Jordan Travis look rattled.
- 12:11Speaker 2: He got lucky a few times right and he had a terrible interception it was terrible.
- 12:15Speaker 2: There's not, as it was a bad picky through it.
- 12:17Speaker 2: He is undercut the route, though he threw it kind of.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah, they were, they were, you know, they were definitely in their first game.
- 12:25Speaker 3: There was, I mean, there was rust there.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Man, they looked right but man, it just continued to get better as the game went on right and really what it was is.
- 12:37Speaker 3: You know, I think once they were able to start running the ball Not even, like you know, tearing off chunk runs and stuff like that, but just getting positive yards then they started really being able to take those shots downfield right.
- 12:49Speaker 3: And I'm I mean man, I Cuz they look covering.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Johnny and Keon right, and that's another thing.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Johnny Wilson Was really the third, mr Third down in that game.
- 13:01Speaker 2: No, he didn't get any touchdowns, but man.
- 13:03Speaker 2: He came through huge and he's just going like you, who we pick, who you're gonna guard now, and then you can't put a safety.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It like it's.
- 13:11Speaker 2: It's a nightmare.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Defensive coordinators are probably going to head coaches and offensive coordinators and play callers Putting up numbers and saying, hey, you guys need to get this much this week because, or how, what kind of like umbrella Defense do you want to do?
- 13:26Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:27Speaker 3: That's to get in a little bit of well, there's, there's a lot of defenses in the country.
- 13:30Speaker 3: You know many, many, many, many defenses.
- 13:33Speaker 3: There's a lot of defenses that we play this season that aren't gonna have a front seven like LSU's that's true.
- 13:40Speaker 2: So they were without Mason.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Smith.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Yeah, without Mason Smith, they.
- 13:44Speaker 3: You know that that's significant, but yeah, they were not absent of playmakers on that front, front seven, you know.
- 13:53Speaker 2: So that's something I was very impressed with the Red Zone defense.
- 13:56Speaker 2: That's that's important you have, it's, it matters.
- 14:01Speaker 2: It wins games.
- 14:02Speaker 2: It kept that game.
- 14:04Speaker 3: It wins games.
- 14:05Speaker 2: You saw you saw it last night.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Yeah, in the Duke Clemson game.
- 14:08Speaker 2: We'll get to that later.
- 14:10Speaker 3: But anyway.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Let's let's go over the numbers.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Jordan Travis was 23 of 31 for 342 yards for touchdowns in an interception we talked about that interception but he hit.
- 14:25Speaker 2: The first touchdown was to Keon Coleman on a Like a slant dig type route and a one little move yeah, really smooth move inside he was gone.
- 14:36Speaker 3: It's somebody that you know.
- 14:37Speaker 3: You don't expect somebody that big be able to just twitch the head over there like that Yep, and then take off.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it looked real good and Qaness.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just with the number you know.
- 14:52Speaker 3: It was.
- 14:52Speaker 3: It's just it's.
- 14:53Speaker 3: It's kind of incredible man, I if and let me go.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yet do span also with a pass, one for one who was a great.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Yeah, you can great pass it was.
- 15:04Speaker 2: You can see that his you play quarterback in high school definitely.
- 15:07Speaker 2: It was and that's another guy who didn't, who didn't get a catch, but he got.
- 15:15Speaker 2: He got a completion, you know he was involved.
- 15:17Speaker 3: You know guys were out there that.
- 15:19Speaker 3: You know Winston Wright had one catch, but it was a huge catch it.
- 15:24Speaker 3: You know that the thing, oh man it, who are you going to?
- 15:29Speaker 3: Like you said, who are you gonna cover?
- 15:31Speaker 3: But at the same time, like when you can't stop the run, as well like what do we do if we have to actually commit safeties every time to that run because we can't get it with our front five or front six or whatever?
- 15:45Speaker 3: I just this offense looks really, really dangerous.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it does.
- 15:51Speaker 2: It really does.
- 15:51Speaker 2: I mean, even in the first half it looked dangerous.
- 15:55Speaker 2: It just looked it had to clean a few things up.
- 15:57Speaker 2: It had that feeling and it was showed that it's just gonna get better.
- 16:03Speaker 2: It's just like the skies of the limit.
- 16:06Speaker 2: This is a special group and they have playmakers at every position.
- 16:11Speaker 2: There's guys that we talked about before the show that they didn't get a catch on.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Then they threw to Destin Hill, but you're going to see guys at Winston Wright with a big third down catch.
- 16:23Speaker 2: But Trey Benson, 12 rushes for 47 yards.
- 16:28Speaker 2: He got a little bit caught up in the first half but he got it going in the second half just enough to open up that passing game Cause and to get Jordan Travis with another seven carries in 38 yards with a touchdown run as well, he's able.
- 16:43Speaker 2: And then a big design third down and long run too, when you can just like we got an answer for everything.
- 16:50Speaker 2: So Florida State what they were able to put out on film has got to be scaring every defensive coach on the schedule.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I'd imagine it's a big reason why everybody is quote unquote, overreacting to-.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Well, hey, man, that's what we're doing.
- 17:08Speaker 2: That's what we're doing.
- 17:09Speaker 3: We pumped them up to number.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I mean we're number four now so it's.
- 17:13Speaker 3: We made a statement.
- 17:14Speaker 3: It's incredible.
- 17:16Speaker 2: They deserve it and they had the biggest win of the week.
- 17:19Speaker 2: We'll go over the numbers that the receiving, keon Coleman, led the way.
- 17:24Speaker 2: With nine catches, 122 yards and three touchdowns in his seminal debut, he showed.
- 17:32Speaker 2: He showed why he was projected first round talent before he even got here.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I'm struggling to remember a wide receiver that announced himself like that.
- 17:46Speaker 3: So Peter Warwick had that game at Clemson.
- 17:48Speaker 3: I just yeah, it's just a new.
- 17:52Speaker 2: It's a new age.
- 17:53Speaker 3: But Johnny Wilson with you know he dropped some too, and he does that sometimes some easy ones, where he could have had even better numbers Right, but he had seven catches, 140 yards and a lot of big third down conversions.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Huge third down.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Two catches 49 yards for Lawrence Toafele, jaheem Bell with another two catches 49 yards, so quietly.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Bell with almost a hundred total yards, winston Wright with a big third down catch one catch for 18 yards.
- 18:22Speaker 2: And then Moorlach had two catches as well.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Yeah, and he was out there really blocking.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Well, it was, it was good.
- 18:27Speaker 2: He was out there a lot blocking.
- 18:29Speaker 3: And those are two new guys.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Yeah, as was Bell, and that was something that South Carolina fans were.
- 18:34Speaker 3: You know that's a lot of their complaining and whining about that was that you know he was a head case and good luck getting them to block or to buy in.
- 18:43Speaker 2: But well, I think you can see that he's in it because that's a.
- 18:48Speaker 2: That's a kid from Lowndes County, that's about Dosta kid, who want, who probably want, always wanted to go to Florida State last year, saw that he wanted to be a part of something special and he wanted to get back here and I'm sure his family's big time Seminole fans and there's probably just something natural about that.
- 19:07Speaker 2: So I don't know about that.
- 19:10Speaker 2: He seems fine to me.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Cause that he looked explosive, explosive.
- 19:15Speaker 2: You knew, you knew at the first play of the game he didn't have the numbers, but you knew LSU was game planning for him.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I think it opened up the field for everything else.
- 19:24Speaker 3: I think that's a huge reason.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Why Harold Perkins was a no show is because, you know, first of all, they moved him inside, which really looks like a mistake.
- 19:35Speaker 2: It really does.
- 19:36Speaker 3: But you know that, like I said, you go back and watch the game and you look at how much time they were taking pre snap Jordan Travis, you know how much time they were waiting in the formation.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Like I said, you're going to, you're going to try to get Harold Perkins to tip his hand and most of the time it was Bell, and then they had to start committing them that double back.
- 19:57Speaker 3: I mean dude, hats off to Revell Atkins and hats off to Adam Fuller.
- 20:02Speaker 3: I know that, statistically, you know Jaden Daniels threw for a lot of yards, but they came down as a good quarterback.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah he is.
- 20:10Speaker 2: He improved there.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Sometimes he looks good, but you're right, you're right.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Hats off to the defense because they kept them out of the end zone in the first half when they were moving the ball, and the second half they shut them down it effectively it was a couple of drops, but other than that it was a complete blowout.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Yeah, drops, drops work both ways.
- 20:28Speaker 3: I just think that that can be rushed by the throw and yeah, I mean it, it was a complete effort, Dude, it was impressive.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I don't know he ended up with 347 yards, but he did have a really costly pick.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Costly interception it was costly, it was very costly, it really kind of just.
- 20:48Speaker 3: His decisions on the gas, on the fire, on those fourth down plays where, where you know, it was kind of the read play.
- 20:53Speaker 3: I think he probably made the wrong decision on every single fourth down.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, that's where it started.
- 21:01Speaker 2: They came out swinging right away, judging by the tone of red on.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Brian Kelly's face.
- 21:07Speaker 2: I think it was probably Jane Daniels fault but reminiscent of the opening goal line stand from another memorable FSU team that won a national championship in 1993 against Kansas.
- 21:21Speaker 2: That's what that reminded me of.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I was just thinking about that.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I was like goodness gracious because they got an automatic first down after a bonehead play and then they ended up getting the goal line stand out anyway and backing them up to the 15 and doing so, this opponent was a little bit better than 93.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I know but like that that many plays it.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Just that's the first thing it brought.
- 21:40Speaker 2: It brought to my mind was that that particular goal line stand.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Speaking of man, dj Lundy, who made that sack on that goal line.
- 21:46Speaker 2: He looked so good, he looked really good, he looked improved and that second string looks like a bunch of wild animals just hungry, coming ready to play.
- 21:55Speaker 2: It looks like, yeah, we have starters, but kind of like when you, when you saw Hamilton's rotations going, when, when FSU basketball is going well, Just mixing it up.
- 22:07Speaker 2: I mean, at those positions where you want those guys to be hungry, you mix you mix in the transfer additions with the guys that you've that are quote on.
- 22:17Speaker 3: You know that are homegrown, right and it's they do.
- 22:21Speaker 3: They look really good, man.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I hope it is something that carries over and continues to be.
- 22:27Speaker 3: It looked, I mean it looks sustainable.
- 22:30Speaker 2: It really does.
- 22:31Speaker 2: When you have the amount of players that are buying in, you have the amount of weapons to go to and a leader to hit the right buttons.
- 22:40Speaker 2: That's saying all the right things.
- 22:42Speaker 2: He's.
- 22:42Speaker 2: He's really just developed and you're talking about a guy that was thinking about quitting the position under the last head coach.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Yeah, Jordan Travis.
- 22:52Speaker 2: And is now an absolute star.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Norvel has just completely sold him and he has totally believed in himself and he has turned into the leader of this team.
- 23:05Speaker 2: And he's just continues to grow and get better.
- 23:11Speaker 3: It's his team and, like just position by position, it seems like Norvel, the staff have gotten the guys, the kind of guys that they want in terms of that mentality, you know, and guys like Jaheem Bell, keon Coleman they're here for a year and then to go to the league, exactly, but there was never any.
- 23:34Speaker 2: You're gonna maximize that time here, goodness gracious.
- 23:37Speaker 3: There was never any doubt though.
- 23:39Speaker 2: But look at a guy like the defensive end that came here from Georgia, Jermaine Johnson.
- 23:43Speaker 3: He was here for a year, but look at it Same time of deal, he still has that impact.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you know that impact of like coming here to make a difference, and not only.
- 23:52Speaker 3: And I don't have any reason to think that that's not gonna continue with Norvel, that he's not gonna still.
- 23:57Speaker 3: They're still not gonna just every year.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Look for that immediate impact guy.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:03Speaker 3: In the transfer portal.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Well, I got no problem with it.
- 24:06Speaker 2: That's the new.
- 24:06Speaker 2: That's the new game.
- 24:07Speaker 2: You don't want to be caught up in denying what's inevitable.
- 24:11Speaker 2: You want to adjust and use it to your advantage, and he's done so just great, just done it like a permit, I mean, you can't do a better job and there was a lot of doubt.
- 24:25Speaker 3: You know there's a lot of people that may still point to his overall record at FSU.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of things that tie into that, but still, in the end of the day it is a win-loss game and you're gonna have to win.
- 24:38Speaker 2: But I tell you what he's got his team ready to fire off some wins and they're looking like they're.
- 24:44Speaker 2: He's about to stack that win total a lot and I and sometimes you need to go through it, that, that, that suck that to realize what you got and to grow.
- 24:54Speaker 2: And you can see that in Jordan Travis, you can see that in just the fight of this team how they're, they're just want to compete.
- 25:02Speaker 3: A lot of guys that.
- 25:03Speaker 3: A lot of fight, a lot of fight.
- 25:04Speaker 2: They don't want to be there Taking some lumps.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they have.
- 25:07Speaker 3: There's a lot of guys that have taken some lumps.
- 25:09Speaker 3: You know, morrie Smith, the center, is somebody that that you play the entire game, every snap.
- 25:15Speaker 3: He should be commended for that, because I think he's the only offensive lineman.
- 25:20Speaker 3: But you know, you look at at I mean you look at the, like you said man, just to add it to the mentality of the team overall.
- 25:28Speaker 3: And you're right, it's just, it's that refusal to quit, man, I don't know.
- 25:33Speaker 3: It was really, really beautiful to see I just that bully ball in the fourth quarter that they were calling it.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you could see the.
- 25:45Speaker 2: I mean that that, oh my God, rodney Hill, that last touchdown, I mean that run he had.
- 25:51Speaker 2: And then that touchdown that Jaheem Bell ran in knocking the guy over.
- 25:54Speaker 2: What an exclamation point that was.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Oh my goodness.
- 25:57Speaker 3: He knocked him.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I mean.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Both feet in the air, it feels good.
- 26:01Speaker 2: If you're a seminal fan right now, it's got to feel good.
- 26:04Speaker 2: It is just one game, but damn, it was a good game, man, and damn, you look good and everybody knows it.
- 26:10Speaker 3: It made me a more impressive there isn't one.
- 26:13Speaker 3: When we were having this conversation last season.
- 26:16Speaker 3: You know it was a lot of the same.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Like man, they look really good.
- 26:20Speaker 3: You know this LSU has a bit better roster, you know, you look they should have maybe won by more and now it looks closed, but I mean it.
- 26:29Speaker 2: No question.
- 26:32Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Find me a better, find me a better opening game for Florida State football.
- 26:37Speaker 3: I mean, you mentioned the 93 game against Kansas, but that's Kansas man.
- 26:41Speaker 3: You know, that was an unranked team that was clearly outmatched, and you know in recent memory there isn't one.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Yeah, you go, you go look at the roster and you get into like blue chip ratio and talent composition and all those kind of things, and LSU is ahead of Florida State by a good bit.
- 26:58Speaker 3: You know they're supposedly the team with the better roster.
- 27:02Speaker 3: So I just yeah, to me as impressive of an opening game as I ever remember as a Florida State fan.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness, it was so good to see and, speaking of watching the game, how many wasn't there, just all kinds of recruits there.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I believe they had over 60, 60 recruits that were considered, you know, unofficial visitors.
- 27:27Speaker 3: Or you know Florida State could have them in the stands on their side.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Since it's, in state Still considered a home game, even though it's not, you know, endowed Campbell, they can still treat it like a game where they can have as many unofficial visitors as they want.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Usually you don't get 65 to come to Tallahassee.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Just the proximity to the schools in Florida that Orlando sits, you know they just all that.
- 27:53Speaker 3: And it was man, it was a who's who of talent from, you know, south Georgia, alabama and all over the state of Florida.
- 28:01Speaker 3: I know Jeremiah Smith, top 100, you know, top player in the country.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Basically, was there quotes had him saying he was, you know, really impressed by the way they use Keon Coleman.
- 28:12Speaker 3: That's I don't know man.
- 28:14Speaker 3: There continues to be some smoke there with that kid, but they do, like I said, over 60 recruits, a lot of them blue chips.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Big kid to watch is LJ McCray.
- 28:23Speaker 3: He's a defensive lineman for the 24 class, you know he's, you know, was thought to be a long shot kind of earlier on in the process.
- 28:32Speaker 3: He still has an official visit to Florida State scheduled.
- 28:35Speaker 3: Most of the talk had been Florida or Georgia.
- 28:38Speaker 3: I think that we just threw our hat back in the ring.
- 28:41Speaker 3: He was.
- 28:42Speaker 3: You know, this is pretty much all struck the environment.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Just just the amount of Florida State fans that showed up.
- 28:50Speaker 2: And they did.
- 28:50Speaker 2: By the way, what a great environment it was for FSU fans.
- 28:54Speaker 2: We're there in full throat.
- 28:57Speaker 2: You could hear the band.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I mean the fans did a great job.
- 29:02Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, man, that, that it's as much fun as I've had watching a Florida State game and quite some time.
- 29:11Speaker 3: I mean, you know I enjoy watching all the wins.
- 29:14Speaker 3: But that that was just, man, that was sweet.
- 29:18Speaker 2: It really was a sweet win and you know they're going to have a short week this week as they're Hosting the Southern Miss.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Yeah, first home game, only home game, of September.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's going to be an 830 kickoff.
- 29:34Speaker 3: It's going to be insane.
- 29:36Speaker 2: We're going to talk about that later in the week.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Yeah oh yeah.
- 29:39Speaker 2: What a big, just amazing win for Florida State.
- 29:44Speaker 2: It was a statement win.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean sure to coming out there and shutting them out.
- 29:48Speaker 3: I don't.
- 29:48Speaker 3: It's really the only thing you could have done to top that.
- 29:51Speaker 3: You know it's got.
- 29:53Speaker 3: You know people voting them number one, would they get three first place votes?
- 29:57Speaker 3: They did More first place votes than Michigan and Alabama combined.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Right, who are the number two and number three team?
- 30:05Speaker 2: That doesn't matter, but man.
- 30:06Speaker 3: Yeah it just.
- 30:07Speaker 3: It kind of shows you just how impressive the win People are out there nationally overreacting big time to it.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Clemson's number 25.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Yeah, Clemson looked awful.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Yeah, they did.
- 30:20Speaker 3: And not just the play on the field.
- 30:22Speaker 3: You know they just looked like they weren't interested.
- 30:26Speaker 3: No, you know club Nick Cold Shouldering Dabo as he's coming off the sidelines after a just horrible play call.
- 30:34Speaker 3: And it's interesting, there was a quote by Dabo before the game I might have been before the game a couple of days or something about the offense being Lincoln.
- 30:42Speaker 3: You know Garrett Riley's offense and adapting to that, and he was quick to correct the reporter and say well, it's Clemson's offense.
- 30:48Speaker 3: You know it's a Clemson offense.
- 30:50Speaker 3: It always has been his collaborative effort.
- 30:53Speaker 3: We brought him in to be, you know, to run that and collaborate with that and man.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Just the tone.
- 31:01Speaker 3: You can see the red flags and the bad stuff brewing.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Well, it wasn't good getting the ball inside the 10, three straight times and getting zero points.
- 31:10Speaker 3: I'll tell you what.
- 31:11Speaker 3: That's never good.
- 31:12Speaker 3: No, that's a sign of something else, man.
- 31:14Speaker 2: That's not a play calling.
- 31:15Speaker 2: But that would have Duke.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Look, it was a great night man.
- 31:20Speaker 2: I mean the track at a stadium that used to have a track.
- 31:24Speaker 2: They went around it.
- 31:24Speaker 2: It looked, I mean in.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, man, I was in.
- 31:27Speaker 3: You know Wallace Wade's trying to step it up.
- 31:31Speaker 2: They're trying to put the I used to see people out there doing like running sprints during the football game there were guys be laying on the bleachers just catching sun whether it's sleeping.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah, like I'm not here for.
- 31:43Speaker 2: The state has never lost to Duke.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Yeah, that's, that's right.
- 31:46Speaker 3: That's the one thing they've avoided and all the pitfalls.
- 31:49Speaker 3: And being in the ACC is never losing in football to Duke.
- 31:52Speaker 2: It was always been considered it's gotta be one of the huge games of the year.
- 31:57Speaker 3: It's definitely.
- 31:58Speaker 1: You have to If you're going to lose.
- 31:59Speaker 3: I mean, wait you're probably going to.
- 32:01Speaker 2: You got to leave the ACC.
- 32:02Speaker 2: Maybe I mean a lot of that talk in a few years, who knows?
- 32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta leave whatever, or whatever you got to keep that streak alive for as long as possible.
- 32:10Speaker 3: The games in Tallahassee, yeah, but you know some familiarity there.
- 32:13Speaker 3: You know they're.
- 32:14Speaker 3: They're all I know it's going to be a great.
- 32:15Speaker 3: The coordinator used to come from the Sleep on the Blue Devils.
- 32:18Speaker 2: That quarterback's impressive too.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Fair Hope, Alabama Right he Leonard.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yep, he can run it.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he can.
- 32:24Speaker 3: He got away with some stuff.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the other thing.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Right, all the breaks went.
- 32:29Speaker 3: They did.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Duke's way.
- 32:30Speaker 2: But I'm telling you, you still they did not look like the offense did not look.
- 32:37Speaker 2: Whatever collaborative effort it was, it didn't look very, it didn't.
- 32:41Speaker 2: It didn't look like it was in rhythm.
- 32:42Speaker 3: They didn't look like Colorado.
- 32:44Speaker 3: No, oh my.
- 32:45Speaker 2: God, colorado was the coming out party of the college football.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Talk If you're outside of North Florida Should do our standards, man Like.
- 32:52Speaker 2: He legitimately, I know First of all.
- 32:55Speaker 2: First of all, I was wrong on the over and under.
- 32:57Speaker 2: I got caught up in it, man.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I was totally off.
- 33:01Speaker 2: I got, I got.
- 33:01Speaker 2: I was totally off.
- 33:02Speaker 2: What I should have listened to was show contributor Al who told me, who told me he was like, and I mean he's still double digit wins and who knows, who knows it might happen, but man what a performance, what a performance by the young man.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:17Speaker 2: By the young man himself to fight to the, to set a program record in his first game and a program that's won national championships.
- 33:25Speaker 2: To set a program record for passing.
- 33:26Speaker 2: Incredible performance by Sanders.
- 33:29Speaker 2: You could see why Travis Hunter was the number one ranked player in the country.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Okay, you can see it.
- 33:35Speaker 2: He was talented, yeah, I mean.
- 33:37Speaker 2: And then the running back, the freshman running back to have incredible deans.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Well, I think.
- 33:44Speaker 3: I think the big thing is that they can protect I, you know it is are they going to be able to block?
- 33:52Speaker 3: For should we're saying, should we're Sanders the best player on the team and everybody's going to talk about Travis Hunter and they should?
- 33:59Speaker 3: You know he's he's, you know he's a great player.
- 34:02Speaker 3: I think he should be a wide receiver.
- 34:04Speaker 3: You know strictly that that's clearly a position that he's better at.
- 34:09Speaker 3: You know Dylan Edwards, the running back like dude.
- 34:13Speaker 3: He is ridiculous Freshman running back out of the backfield.
- 34:17Speaker 3: But should do our Sanders is that.
- 34:20Speaker 3: He's the machine.
- 34:22Speaker 2: He's the machine 38 of 47, 510 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions.
- 34:28Speaker 2: And I'll tell you this right now four receivers over a hundred yards.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Albert was right man.
- 34:36Speaker 3: He should have been in.
- 34:36Speaker 2: He should have been in New York last year as a high Albert was right.
- 34:40Speaker 3: You know that, that's unquestionable Um that he should have been there.
- 34:43Speaker 3: You know he had a ridiculous season and he can.
- 34:47Speaker 3: He's going to be there this year.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Oh man dude if he, if he he's going to be there this year both of them are.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Yeah, both of them are.
- 34:53Speaker 2: If they're they, if they go, they're going to win, they're going to go to a big game and I go to a ball.
- 34:58Speaker 2: I can't believe how stupid a pick it was that to pick the under on that.
- 35:04Speaker 2: But I didn't.
- 35:05Speaker 2: It wasn't just me.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I just I should have listened to it.
- 35:10Speaker 2: But, and I'll tell, you.
- 35:11Speaker 3: right now it's not as crazy to say 10 wins like Al did no, as it is like when you start to say it, man.
- 35:19Speaker 2: When you have a quarterback at that position and you can.
- 35:22Speaker 3: It's the key to the game, and he doesn't he's changing it.
- 35:25Speaker 2: He's changing, I mean, he's changing the way you evaluate players.
- 35:29Speaker 2: He's changing the way you do everything, Cause you're talking about a team that had offensive linemen transfer in and then transfer out before playing a single game at the university.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and then he got, he got forward.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Because hey, no, we ain't doing that.
- 35:45Speaker 3: You guys aren't good enough.
- 35:45Speaker 3: We made a mistake.
- 35:46Speaker 3: You guys got to leave, finding home he has got nothing.
- 35:50Speaker 2: He doesn't care about anything other than the agenda that he wants to set Right, because what.
- 35:54Speaker 3: What that does is now you can't those four scholarships.
- 35:58Speaker 3: You know that you gave to those guys transferring out those are scholarships.
- 36:03Speaker 3: He's not worried about that.
- 36:04Speaker 2: He's not worried about this.
- 36:06Speaker 1: This year and next year.
- 36:07Speaker 3: And then I'm going.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Yeah Well, right now he's got the spotlight on him.
- 36:12Speaker 2: It is can't get a ticket to the game on Saturday against Nebraska.
- 36:17Speaker 2: It's going to be fun to watch.
- 36:19Speaker 2: I'm not going to lie, it was fun to watch.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I'm glad it's out there in Colorado and not as a school in the region.
- 36:25Speaker 2: I know that.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Oh man, I'm so glad he's not in the southeast.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Yeah, we got and.
- 36:28Speaker 2: I kind of like the Buffalo's uniform.
- 36:30Speaker 2: I like the uniforms.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I've always liked the.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Buffalo running out, you know you know, I mean you kind of man, I would not be surprised.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Maybe not this year, but especially if I mean Sanders, he might be the number one pick in the draft.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Who knows?
- 36:43Speaker 3: We'll, we'll see.
- 36:45Speaker 3: I mean, you know, you got Caleb Williams.
- 36:47Speaker 3: I don't think there's going to be.
- 36:48Speaker 2: I think he's going to come back.
- 36:49Speaker 3: I think there'll be a few teams that can out score him this year.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and it's one game, we're, we're, it's one game I don't know how many, but you talk about outside of Florida State, which I thought had the biggest win over LSU, just based on opponent.
- 37:03Speaker 2: There wasn't a you.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Yeah, all the attention the Colorado.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Colorado offense was was.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Yeah, because it was the passing game.
- 37:11Speaker 3: The defense still looks awful.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Right, and that's going to take time.
- 37:14Speaker 3: That's why, well, that's depth you got to get guys on the on the defensive line.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Like they're still relying on guys.
- 37:19Speaker 3: It's going to be fun to watch line that, aren't?
- 37:22Speaker 2: You know, have all the, all the eyeballs all season.
- 37:24Speaker 2: It's good for the, it's good for entertainment.
- 37:27Speaker 2: It is because everybody wants to watch him.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Yeah, they're going to get somebody in the pack 12.
- 37:32Speaker 3: And it's good, that's ranked and there's good teams.
- 37:35Speaker 2: There's good teams in HBCU and, speaking of the former team Jackson.
- 37:41Speaker 2: State.
- 37:41Speaker 2: There was a big game the Orange Blossom Classic, the best game on Sunday and the Rathers took care of business in a major way getting a huge, huge team to play defense.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean just talk about a difference a year makes.
- 37:57Speaker 2: What was the score in this game last year?
- 37:59Speaker 2: 59?
- 38:00Speaker 2: , and who cares?
- 38:01Speaker 3: Yeah, who cares?
- 38:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a news, a new story.
- 38:04Speaker 2: A rattler defense that looked dominating.
- 38:06Speaker 2: They went in the game up 28 to nothing in half.
- 38:10Speaker 2: They go on to win 28 to 10.
- 38:12Speaker 2: But Jackson State didn't have a hope or prayer in this game.
- 38:16Speaker 3: No, and it you know it's.
- 38:17Speaker 3: It's not to say Jackson State is not still a really good team.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Oh, it's more of what you see the the improvements that they were building upon on nine straight wins to finish off last season.
- 38:28Speaker 2: They've only gotten better and I'm telling you right now USF better watch out.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Is there coming down their Tampa?
- 38:37Speaker 3: They're coming down there to give you.
- 38:38Speaker 2: And Musa yeah the defense.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Musa didn't have to do much but he was efficient.
- 38:42Speaker 2: A very big win for fam you I mean, especially after last year.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Still a lot of good still players.
- 38:50Speaker 2: I know, I know Deon took the quarterback and took the corner.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Jason Brown's not.
- 38:55Speaker 3: He's no slouch man, he's a guy that's come from the FPS level.
- 38:59Speaker 3: You know he beat the Gators two years ago when he was at South Carolina it.
- 39:03Speaker 3: You know he's not, he's not Shadoor Sanders, but he's not somebody that you can sleep on.
- 39:09Speaker 2: John Marie Sherid had a five catches, 90 yards, and a touchdown for the Rattlers.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Trevante Davis had another touchdown for the Rattlers.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Jeremy Musa had two touchdowns, just an efficient 12 to 22, 150 yards, two touchdowns no picks.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Then you know.
- 39:27Speaker 2: You know that the no picks is what you're really happy to see here.
- 39:32Speaker 3: Yeah, man, I mean.
- 39:34Speaker 2: But the big story on offense and what was missing last year from the Rattler offense is the running game and Tyrell Jennings and Jacquez Yant both had 11 carries.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Both Jennings had 75 yards, yant had 72 yards and a touchdown that is jumps off the page at me.
- 39:51Speaker 2: You know, to control line scrims, especially when you block it up with that defensive performance, that's a good combination.
- 39:57Speaker 3: You went in the trenches, man.
- 39:58Speaker 3: You're gonna win the game, and that's that's what they do.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Swack the swag, that is swag and they're one and O in the swag, one and O overall, with a big time game coming up in Tampa against the Bulls.
- 40:10Speaker 2: We're gonna check in.
- 40:10Speaker 3: I mean they got a chance man.
- 40:11Speaker 3: I really think they can beat him.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Albert was down there.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Albert was down there in Miami for the game.
- 40:16Speaker 2: We're gonna talk to him later in the week about the game.
- 40:18Speaker 2: We're gonna get his reaction to the game.
- 40:20Speaker 2: It was a fun environment, to say the least.
- 40:23Speaker 2: I know he caught up with Otjo Cinco.
- 40:25Speaker 2: We're gonna hear all the stories later in the week.
- 40:28Speaker 2: But there was also some other games.
- 40:33Speaker 2: But that I think we covered most of the big ones, right.
- 40:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean there's some interesting ones.
- 40:40Speaker 3: South Carolina getting beat up really.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Mac Brown took care of business.
- 40:45Speaker 3: I tell you who looked good, man, amari Gainer looked good.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Yeah, he did.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Former FSU Seminole Mark.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Former Tallahassee native yeah man Chiles High School product.
- 40:55Speaker 3: It looks like they're just gonna let him pin his ears back there.
- 40:57Speaker 2: That's good to see.
- 40:58Speaker 3: That's kind of what he does, man, just just just rush to QB.
- 41:01Speaker 3: You know, don't worry about being that traditional.
- 41:04Speaker 2: They that in defense looked improved and with that quarterback they could be a team that might you might see in Charlotte.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Yeah, my biggest takeaways are Miami looked and we're gonna talk to Justin in a little bit about Miami.
- 41:18Speaker 3: They handle business, man, they do, you know, that's.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Let's do that right now.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Let's take a quick break and let's talk to Justin about the Miami game, the North Florida sport, north Florida sport.
- 41:31Speaker 2: North Florida sport.
- 41:32Speaker 2: North Florida sport.
- 41:33Speaker 2: North Florida sport, north Florida sport.
- 41:36Speaker 2: All right, it's that time of the show.
- 41:39Speaker 2: We're gonna bring in a Miami contributor and we're gonna react to Miami's week one win over Miami of Ohio.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Kind of forgot about that game, but we're gonna react to big, react to it with our big time Miami homer.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Justin, how's it going, man?
- 42:03Speaker 1: I called it Miami with the win.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you did man.
- 42:06Speaker 1: What an idiot that.
- 42:07Speaker 2: Gabbard kid was man for saying that Is that defense.
- 42:11Speaker 2: The defense looked like they were locked in.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I got after last year.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I can't believe I'm about to say this, but I was quite impressed with what I saw out of the canes, the offensive line way better than last year.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Like not even comparable how much better the offensive line played.
- 42:33Speaker 1: And I know it is against Miami of Ohio, but we couldn't block Middle Tennessee State last year.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 1: So I mean we gotta take this raving in my excitement with a grain of salt here.
- 42:47Speaker 2: but no, I understand it.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Listen, when you had a season when you had those losses you wanna see, especially the first game of year, you wanna see your team come out and do control what they can control.
- 43:00Speaker 2: And what they controlled was Gabbard.
- 43:04Speaker 3: They didn't do anything, and the defense did not.
- 43:07Speaker 2: You didn't have any really breakdowns defensively.
- 43:09Speaker 2: That's a good thing.
- 43:12Speaker 1: No, that was gonna say.
- 43:13Speaker 1: The other big things that I noticed is the defensive line played really really well.
- 43:19Speaker 1: What's his name?
- 43:21Speaker 1: The freshman pass rusher Bane.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Really hard to block already and he's just a freshman.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Limebackers didn't show me much.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Secondary locked everybody down, which was relatively expected, with Kinshens and Williams as safeties.
- 43:38Speaker 1: I had high hopes for the secondary and they delivered.
- 43:42Speaker 1: I liked the play calling much better.
- 43:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Way better than Gaddis.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Also, we got a new running back who is a freaking monster.
- 43:55Speaker 1: This guy named Fletcher I think it's.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Mark.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Fletcher yes.
- 43:59Speaker 2: Junior.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Dude Fletcher played really well.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Yeah, they have balanced running tag.
- 44:04Speaker 2: I'll just go over the numbers.
- 44:05Speaker 2: He had nine carries for 76 yards in touchdown, and then Parrish had nine carries for 90 yards in a touchdown.
- 44:12Speaker 2: So balanced attack there.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Yeah, and we knew Parrish.
- 44:15Speaker 1: We knew what Parrish could do with some decent offensive play calling and some decent offensive line play, because what he did at Ole Miss two years ago, we knew that Parrish could play yeah.
- 44:25Speaker 1: So they called the right offense for the running game.
- 44:28Speaker 1: The offensive line was just open in holes, like big, giant holes.
- 44:32Speaker 1: Tvd had time that the TVD didn't look that great, though, to be perfectly honest, he missed 17 to 22 for 201 yards, one touchdown and one pick for TVD.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Yeah, and the touchdown was a bubble screen that Colby Young took like 70 yards.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Okay, so it's not like TVD was carving him up.
- 44:58Speaker 1: I mean he was efficient lots of short, little passes, but nothing that really jumped off the screen.
- 45:03Speaker 1: This wasn't TVD two years ago, when he was just big play after big play after big play, but we didn't need it, we didn't need the big plays and Colby Young, he started to play well last year.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I mean it's kind of forgettable because we sucked so bad, but I remember, if anybody wants to go fact-check me on this, on the old podcast I brought up Young at least one game where he had a huge game, like three touchdowns or something.
- 45:31Speaker 1: One game.
- 45:32Speaker 2: He did.
- 45:34Speaker 1: And he looks like a grown ass man now.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I mean, when he's out there on the field it looks like freaking Johnny Wilson up here in Tallahassee.
- 45:40Speaker 1: I mean, he's a big dude that can run, yeah.
- 45:45Speaker 1: So I'm excited with what I saw.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Now, granted, I still don't see us being much better than eight and four, maybe nine and three at best.
- 45:54Speaker 2: It's how you do it and that's hey.
- 45:56Speaker 2: We'll see how about you.
- 45:58Speaker 2: What was the one thing if you had to pick one thing out that you liked the most?
- 46:04Speaker 1: Offensive line.
- 46:05Speaker 1: I'm going to be super boring.
- 46:07Speaker 1: It was the offensive line.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Well, that's Cristobal's thing, so that's what you want to see.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Yes, I needed to see that.
- 46:14Speaker 1: At a Cristobal.
- 46:15Speaker 1: I mean, I saw nothing good in season one, then I saw a really solid recruiting class and now, starting season two, he's got the offensive line playing well, so he's doing his job and it seems like the coordinators I mean again, it's Miami of Ohio, so it's kind of hard to tell.
- 46:32Speaker 1: We're going to learn a lot.
- 46:32Speaker 1: We're going to learn a lot on Saturday against Santa.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Yep, yep, little foreshadowing.
- 46:36Speaker 2: We're going to talk to you later in the week about that.
- 46:38Speaker 2: We'll do some picks and whatnot, but a good start for the Hurricanes 38 to three over the Miami of Ohio Red Hawks.
- 46:50Speaker 1: From.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Oxford.
- 46:50Speaker 2: From Oxford, ohio, there is no Miami.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Yeah, they're not even Miami.
- 46:54Speaker 2: No, there is no, miami of Ohio?
- 46:56Speaker 2: There is no.
- 46:57Speaker 2: It's like a county, I believe, and it's not even where they're at.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Yeah, they're so fake Miami.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Well they you know, as a solid win for Miami.
- 47:07Speaker 2: They have to be feeling positive about how the season started.
- 47:11Speaker 2: They'll have a big one Saturday against Jimbo and the Aggies.
- 47:16Speaker 2: They're coming in town.
- 47:18Speaker 2: It's going to be a big game, but we'll talk of Petrino, petrino, yeah.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Bobby Petrino at the OC.
- 47:24Speaker 2: That's going to be a huge game.
- 47:27Speaker 2: We'll kind of find out where the season with the potential for the season for the Hurricanes could be after this Saturday, but we'll talk to you about it later in the week.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Sound good?
- 47:38Speaker 1: Oh, I can't wait, buddy.
- 47:39Speaker 2: All right, man.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Thanks Justin.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Cause they're.
- 47:43Speaker 2: We had to go.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Well, we got to get on out of here.
- 47:53Speaker 2: All right here, man, but thanks Justin for coming on and I'd like to thank you, jimmy man.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, it's actually named after the Miami Valley up there in Ohio, the Miami Valley from the, you know, the old the Native American tribe to Miami.
- 48:09Speaker 3: Yeah, like I said, oxford Ohio is where it's where it's at, it's just because it's kind of where it sits in the valley.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Yeah, well it's a beautiful little town.
- 48:19Speaker 2: It is, but it's not the real Miami.
- 48:21Speaker 2: No, not the real Miami you don't say that and Miami with the big win.
- 48:25Speaker 3: I mean, you knew Gabbard, a Gabbard running his mouth, it's never gonna end well?
- 48:29Speaker 2: No, it's not, but yeah, they handle business.
- 48:31Speaker 2: I know you're looking forward to this one coming up.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Kimbo, oh man, yeah, kimbo.
- 48:38Speaker 3: Is he really going to let Bob Petrino call offense?
- 48:40Speaker 2: man, oh man, I can't wait.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I can't wait for them two to go at it.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Is he on the field or is he in the press box?
- 48:46Speaker 2: I think he's up in the box.
- 48:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, there's got it.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Get him in the box.
- 48:49Speaker 3: I'll tell you right though, justin's right, kobe Young man.
- 48:51Speaker 3: That guy's a weapon, yeah we talked about him last season.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Big Looks like they got Fletcher the freshman, to compliment Parrish in the backfield.
- 48:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, kid out of the American heritage.
- 49:00Speaker 3: I'll tell you what the backup looked.
- 49:02Speaker 3: Pretty good, Henry Williams, Milton, Florida, man up here in the Panhandle, yeah he looked good, I wouldn't be surprised to see him.
- 49:10Speaker 3: He's got his arm Quick release.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, that's gonna be a good one.
- 49:15Speaker 3: That's the one I'm gonna be paying attention to, man a lot of big games coming up this week.
- 49:19Speaker 2: man, Florida State's got Southern Miss.
- 49:21Speaker 2: It's gonna be a game that everyone's gonna circle on this season, they still got Frank Gore Jr.
- 49:26Speaker 2: That's right.
- 49:27Speaker 3: That ain't somebody.
- 49:28Speaker 2: you can just go and talk about all about that game.
- 49:31Speaker 2: We got Texas, alabama coming up, nc State, notre Dame.
- 49:35Speaker 2: I mean we got so many games to pick.
- 49:37Speaker 2: We're gonna pick them all.
- 49:38Speaker 2: Probably tomorrow we're gonna go over all the games MU's playing down in Tampa against the South Florida Bulls.
- 49:44Speaker 2: They better watch out.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Tell you what man watch out Old Miss Tulane, tulane might get him.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Miss Tulane, goodness gracious, it's gonna be great.
- 49:51Speaker 2: It's just getting better and better.
- 49:52Speaker 2: A lot of games to talk about.
- 49:54Speaker 2: I'm sure Game Day will be.
- 49:56Speaker 2: It's gonna be right there in Tuscaloosa, alabama, for the Texas and the Alabama game Alabama.
- 50:03Speaker 3: What do you got in that game, man?
- 50:05Speaker 3: They're down two starters in the secondary.
- 50:08Speaker 3: I think.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Texas might really really have a shot.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Well, hey, man, we're gonna talk about those games the Florida State game and all the other games right here next time on the North Florida Sports Network.
- 50:25Speaker 1: We had to go.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Our ride was here.
- 50:28Speaker 1: We got to shuttle.
