- 0:00Hot and windy, hot in windy like a blow dryer. That's a good
- 0:04line, isn't it It is? Yeah, these are bad lines. Now,
- 0:07if you're on a dating app, there are lines you want to avoid,
- 0:10despite how clever you might think they are and how original. It's so
- 0:14funny people come up with the same stuff and they think, ooh, this
- 0:16is this is good, this will get them. So I had told you
- 0:20last week that I have a friend who I'm trying to get on a dating
- 0:22app, and over the weekend ended up convincing her and so we were just
- 0:27like going through kind of the steps. She's like which pictures should I use?
- 0:30What should I do? And so it happened to be Hinge, which
- 0:33not familiar with. It's amazing to me, first of all, all the
- 0:37steps you have to go through. I don't even know if she's finished her
- 0:39profile because it was so intense. But also they like have set questions for
- 0:43you already, oh to like go throfile in a way, but they have
- 0:47like different things like what you're It's like ten tabs and then you'd have to
- 0:51like go through and decide what you would want people to know about you.
- 0:54Okay. It was really exhausting a guy. I hope it works out.
- 0:57For now, she's probably going to experience people trying lines like this. This
- 1:00is the top lines that never use if you're on a dating app, even
- 1:03if you think they're good lines. Okay. For example, do not say,
- 1:07quote, send picks if you come in hot, oh gosh, just
- 1:11straight up asking for picks, because I mean, you're obviously probably going to
- 1:15have pictures on your profile, so when they're saying send picks, they're probably
- 1:19meaning like what of their dog, their food, what they're doing to some
- 1:23of them behind the scenes photos. I got it. And the sad thing
- 1:26is there are people who probably go, oh, yeah, sure, i'll
- 1:29see I'll send you some naked photos of my body. Also, do not
- 1:32just straight up come in hot with the egg plant emoji or really any use
- 1:37of that, even accompanied by some letters and words. Yeah, nope,
- 1:41that's not going to work. Yeah. Also, hey, sexy, what's
- 1:45your number? People need? People are asking for numbers even yeah, I
- 1:48mean, because you're using the app like that's safety zone until after we would
- 1:52go on a date. Maybe I'll give you my number. Yeah even then,
- 1:55I've heard of people that just even after months, don't have each other's
- 1:57number. It's like back in the day and for somebody's email. What do
- 2:00you need that for? Are you connecting business wise? Right? Yeah?
- 2:07Or have you ever had anybody ask you if you like bad boys? Oh?
- 2:12Stop it? On the list of phrases they never used on a dating
- 2:15app, are you a bad boy? People who identify as bad boys probably
- 2:21not bad boys? Yeah? Yeah, if you ever try it. It's
- 2:23so hard to be, which makes me feel like you're just not being your
- 2:27genuine self exactly. That's the problem. Would you say your husband Nick is
- 2:30a bad boy? No, not at all. When you met him,
- 2:35you didn't think he was a bit of a bad boy, not even a
- 2:37little bit. Well, he said bad words and stuff, yeah, but
- 2:38not. I mean, bad boy doesn't necessarily criminal. I've been with a
- 2:43bad boy. Yeah, I guess for you he was an angel good some
- 2:47aridan. Some call him Saint Nick. Actually. Yeah. Another line you
- 2:54should avoid using on dating apps is I think my Spotify is broken. You're
- 3:00not listed in the hottest singles. Okay, shut her down? Like you
- 3:04ever need to just be done? Like, are you used? So?
- 3:07Do you use a pickup line on top of the dating nap can't you just
- 3:12say, Hey, how's it going. I think I'm gonna I think I'm
- 3:14gonna. Are you gonna respond to Hey, how's it going? I just
- 3:19criens thinking about it. I don't even know those early conversations you must have
- 3:22to go through in dating, you know, just the oh, just the
- 3:25back and forth for probably a day before you even realize, like they trigger
- 3:30you enough to be like, okay, no, not for me, or
- 3:34or then you get people to know that so they come in hot with like
- 3:37some weird riddle or something interesting, you know what I mean, Just saying
- 3:39to be unique. Going back to this, uh, the Hinge situation where
- 3:44she's going through it and all these questions because her thing is is like I
- 3:46don't I want people to know that she was a political person, you know
- 3:50what I mean? She has like a view She's like, I don't really
- 3:52want to put it out there because I don't want everybody to know that about
- 3:53me. But at the same time, I'd like to get rid of half
- 3:57of America off of here too. Really, it's like, what would you
- 4:00what would you put Because she's you know, people later in life, you
- 4:04she feels that strongly. Huh yeah, I guess if you're you know,
- 4:08if you're that at that point and you're picking your partner somebody, I'm saying,
- 4:11if your plan is to, you know, maybe settle down with them.
- 4:13And it did have on there too, like uh a relationship, life
- 4:17partner. Hey, Like there's just all these things. I'm like, there's
- 4:20just so many questions like if I'm on the app, can't you just can't
- 4:24we just get to know each other? But relationship or life is there a
- 4:27difference? I guess? So what did it have for a box that obviously
- 4:30suggests you just look into you know? It was way on the bottom.
- 4:34I don't know. And then there was also like again, it's twenty twenty
- 4:39four, so it's not just like who you're interested in, and it's all
- 4:42the things you're interested in, not just men women. I mean there's all
- 4:46the lists, in the checks, in the marks, and I don't think
- 4:48she's gone through the whole profile yet. I don't think she's officially on there.
- 4:51Well, and you know what to day that sounds stressful. Yeah,
- 4:55I just some wonder she avoided it. Hey, if you're just looking for
- 4:59that's probably the play horse. You said, like the things you're interested in
- 5:01it. So people are is she a horse girl? What do they call
- 5:04those horse girl? Equestrian? Yeah? A questrians in the morning, big
- 5:10natty eight point seven? About the best entrance you've ever made? Do you
- 5:13ever think about your entrance when you're you know, showing up to like a
- 5:15party or a dinner and went back in the day for sure? Now literally
- 5:20doesn't FaZe me. I'm like, can we all just get in? Just
- 5:24don't fall in the front door, You'll be fine. Well, this kid,
- 5:27I mean, a young up and coming human, you know, he's
- 5:29an ice cool. That's picture you don't ever hear people refer to as up
- 5:33and coming humans. You know what Michael is today to be an up and
- 5:36coming human. Oh it's a little late for that, man, I'm afraid.
- 5:40But this kid, he's in high school and so this is over in
- 5:42the UK, so apparently they're still doing prom I guess. Oh yeah.
- 5:46So this boy, his name's Lucas Jamison, wanted to make just a memorable
- 5:50entrance into the school's prom. So he had the brilliant idea too. Doesn't
- 5:55this take you back though? Like, okay, are you gonna twirl me?
- 5:57What are you gonna do? I mean just march. Oh yeah,
- 6:00especially for a girl in a dress, because you're not usually wearing high heels
- 6:03like that, you know what I mean? Yeah, I mean that was
- 6:06Now you're taking me a place anyway. This guy got his suit on,
- 6:10dressed up real nice. I'm sure you got a haircut, maybe even got
- 6:12a tan, which is what my friends and I did before prom in high
- 6:15school. Pathetic then got a body bag and he wanted to make the entrance
- 6:18in a body bag. So how do you do that? He got a
- 6:21van? How do you get a body bag? Well that too, but
- 6:25also how are you going to enter in a body bag? Like? How
- 6:27do you move? They got a big white van on march van. He
- 6:30got inside of the body bag, laid down, pulled up to the front
- 6:33door of the prompt, opened the door, had two friends get out and
- 6:36open the door and carry in the body bag. Oh this is kind of
- 6:41Michael jacksony. Yeah, you in that. He ended up in a body
- 6:45bag. Oh gosh, no, am I thinking this is giving me like
- 6:48thriller vibes where then you like open the body bag and then he like comes
- 6:51up like, oh yeah, that might have happened. Does that feel right
- 6:55or am I making this up? It sounds familiar. It's been a while
- 6:58since I watched the Thriller music video front to back, got it? But
- 7:00this kid, you know, now, he did warn the teachers so they
- 7:03didn't think he was actually arriving dead. Well that's good, that was good.
- 7:06Yeah, so shows up, everybody went nuts, everybody was taking photos,
- 7:11and I just think it's pretty non impressive. That's why. That's why
- 7:13I say he's an up and coming human. I think he's got a lot
- 7:15of potential, totally space. This senior year prom, we went with all
- 7:18of our friends, like it was just a whole friend group and family show.
- 7:23Here before you we candd up and man back in Woodena, we were
- 7:28I was friends with the Honky Boys. You probably knew them from the wrestling.
- 7:33So it was Hunky's transfer. Describing the type of people you were friends
- 7:36with. Yeah, I usually hung around the hunt Boys and uh so we
- 7:43took Honky's transfer. We took one of their semis to prom. Wait,
- 7:47we all drove to zorbas or whatever. But then when we came back into
- 7:50town in the back, like we drove around down in the back of a
- 7:55semi and then the guys went out and then he took the what is that
- 8:01called like that not like an elevator kind of thing, but we didn't the
- 8:05lift or whatever, and then they lifted us out. It really just like
- 8:09Cassie, just so classy. The Honky Boys. I forgot about that.
- 8:16Just good times. Yeah, what have they been up to? You know
- 8:20what? It's spiritual days. This week I've probably went into one of the
- 8:22boys a minute in the morning. Seven. Sure, it's a phrase as
- 8:28a parent you dread hearing, but at this time of the year you probably
- 8:31hear it often, and that is I'm bored. I'm bored. Your kid's
- 8:35bored. And now, Amanda, especially when you're doing something that you're so
- 8:39excited about or they were so excited about, and you're like, all right,
- 8:43here we go, we're all in. Let me just say we're going
- 8:46to the zoo. Okay, that's exciting. It's amazing to me that as
- 8:50soon as you pay the admission to wherever it is, within within a matter
- 8:56of minutes, it's like, Okay, what's next. Okay, where are
- 9:00we going next? What are we doing? It's like, yeah, we
- 9:01got to be done here, right, It's spend five minutes you haven't even
- 9:05taken in this experience. It's just it's wild to me. I remember as
- 9:09a kid, like always wanting to go fishing really badly, like go out
- 9:13in the boat, and you know, I didn't want to fish off the
- 9:15dock. This is going to trigger me once you get to that age where
- 9:18you know what they're like the dock is just so lazy, like it's for
- 9:20children. I was a big boy and I wanted to go out on the
- 9:24boat and fish for walleye. But then you know, thirty minutes into it
- 9:26of sitting there without getting a bite, it's like, I'm bored. Can
- 9:30we go in? Can we go fish off the dock? Literally every weekend?
- 9:33Yeah, I want to go do this. Last weekend it was we
- 9:37they wanted Big Bubba. They wanted to go tuban with Big Bubba and that's
- 9:41the name. Yeah, and that's some have maybol whatever depends. So we
- 9:46get it loaded up and it's not like it's hard, but it's still just
- 9:48like getting it on the pontoon, do we whatever? Yeah, get on
- 9:52there and it's like, well, oh, well we're only going to go
- 9:54if mom goes okay, So I'll go for a little bit and then it's
- 9:58just like no, no, no. So then we're just sitting there with
- 10:00a big old tube and now they want to fish like around the tube.
- 10:03God, and then that's it's like yeah, but it's fine. We're having
- 10:07a great time. You love family memory, minimal work, minimal effort on
- 10:11your end, it's just simple, simple stuff. But they say though,
- 10:13they did a whole study as far as finding when the peak boredom for your
- 10:18kids are during the summer, and it's coming up. So if you think
- 10:20you've already hit that point, think again. August first seems to be peak
- 10:24boredom for children during the summer. That's just like going remember being a kid,
- 10:28and once you got to August, it was almost like I'm just ready
- 10:33to get back. Then you just kind of get excited. You miss your
- 10:35friends, and I guess it depends on if you're in an activity where you're
- 10:37still seeing friends but they're I mean, I remember, yeah, we had
- 10:41summer wreck, but that ended like mid July, it did, yeah,
- 10:45and then there was kind of this like four week gap, maybe even longer
- 10:48longer than that of you kind of did a couple maybe if you were lucky
- 10:52of family vacation, but otherwise it was you'd have to figure out like what
- 10:56you were gonna do totally, Yeah, playing swallow or whatever. You saw
- 11:01them, You saw your friends anyway, like every day and then all of
- 11:03a sudden, Yeah, you hit that point. It's August. It's like,
- 11:05oh, this is what boredom feels like. Oh God, if you
- 11:07think you're through the boredom phase, you're not. Yeah, parents, I
- 11:13just I feel for you. I can't that. And like the snacks that
- 11:15you have, there's just all of it. I mean, it's just it
- 11:18is adult the snacks, like they that's all they want. It's like they're
- 11:20still hungry. They're always hungry, and then you make something it's like,
- 11:24ah, I'm full, and then they're hungry. Isn't that part of sort
- 11:26of helping them become a human, you know, because even as an adult,
- 11:31I like, listen, I want to snack right now. But it's
- 11:33part of just living you so much that a part of being a human.
- 11:39Yes, I'm feeding my children, but I'm saying like teaching them that,
- 11:43yeah, you're gonna want to snack all the time. I would love ice
- 11:46cream right now. I would love little crackers. I would love even goldfish
- 11:50but I have to tell myself, no, you have to wait till it's
- 11:54time to eat. Isn't that part of the lessons say parenting? To me?
- 11:58It seems easy, oh easy. And Amanda in the morning on sage
- 12:05you already ready that's he is piping hot today and now Amanda stills the sea.
- 12:11Let's see what are your thoughts on, you know, going through divorce
- 12:16and you show up at your parents' house and there's still pictures up years later
- 12:20of you and your ex. I guess I've never never been in that situation.
- 12:24Will think about it. John Voight has daughter, of course, is
- 12:28Angelina Jolie. I forgot that. I'm sure I knew it at some point.
- 12:31So Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie. There's a picture, I guess according to
- 12:35this source who did an interview with them, with like the twins and stuff
- 12:39as they were growing up. And I'm envisioning John Voyd's house. I don't
- 12:41know why, but just like you know when you walk up somebody stairs and
- 12:45it's just like tons and tons and tons of pictures. Yeah, picture that.
- 12:48I don't really drove John Voyd's car, his old car really yeah,
- 12:54interesting fun fact. Yeah, well He goes on to say in the interview,
- 12:56I love my daughter. That's number one. I am when Angie is
- 13:00happy. When she's having a tough time, I'm having a tough time.
- 13:03When she's down, I'm down. And then he shared that she is very
- 13:05ignorant. Oh, it's nice thing to say about your daughter. She's having
- 13:09a little tough time now after dad called me ignorant. That's a tough one
- 13:13because she strikes me as a person who thinks she's really smart. And maybe
- 13:16that's why he thinks she's ignorant. If that makes sense. Yeah, I
- 13:20don't know, but just interesting. I remember when I got divorced. This
- 13:24was a long time ago, of course, yes ago. It was one
- 13:28of those it was that weird like my brother had his family, so there
- 13:31was that huge picture of their family and their wedding picture, and then I
- 13:35had the graduation photo. But then it went to the wedding photo. Well
- 13:39it was just up like a year later as yes, at my parents' house,
- 13:43and then finally had to go back to the graduation photo. Oh.
- 13:46Yeah, sometimes when you've been with somebody that long, they're really close to
- 13:48the family, so it's it's you know, hard for them too, and
- 13:50I suppose when you have kids too, it's a little different than it.
- 13:52Just like it's just an exception here because those two seemed to Brad and Angelina
- 13:56hate each other quite a lot totally. And we are on baby Bieber watch.
- 14:03We've got what I think almost three weeks is what people were maybe expecting
- 14:09for this baby to be born. Sometime in August. Hayley Bieber did reveal
- 14:11that she has kind of distanced herself from her famous family, saying, I'm
- 14:15not super close with my family at this point in my life because I feel
- 14:18I'm just very independent. I'm an individual now. I built my own family.
- 14:22I look back at my childhood, how I grew up. I'm very
- 14:24fond of it. Great memories. So it's not like she's bashing it.
- 14:26Oh that's good. But when your last name's Baldwin, you're probably there's moments
- 14:31you're like, okay, all right, guys, that's enough enough. Yeah,
- 14:35and she's almost due. It was like we just found out, you
- 14:37know, some people, because she did say so late. I think it
- 14:41was like six months or so. Some people you feel like it's been eighteen
- 14:43months. They're still posting baby bump photos. I'm like, my god,
- 14:46are you still pregnant? You ever gonna get to that baby out of Did
- 14:50you announce the birth or the pregnancy like after the conception? I mean some
- 14:54people do. Hey, guys, we just guess what we just got done
- 14:58doing. Okay, feel pretty good about this one. And we knew Top
- 15:03Gun three was happening, but it looks like it's happening a lot sooner than
- 15:07we anticipated. Jerry Wee, I didn't know that at all. You didn't
- 15:09know Topgun three was going on? No, Well, Jerry Bruckheimer had said
- 15:13like Tom Cruise approved the script, he was very excited about it, and
- 15:16they were all on board to do it. But everybody thought just with Mission
- 15:20impossible and all the other things, like how were they going to get it
- 15:22done? Well? Glenn Powell, who was obviously a part of this,
- 15:26he was on a podcast yesterday and said that they have a filming date.
- 15:30Oh, I mean, I guess, I say it's happening soon. The
- 15:31filming date could be like twenty twenty all we know. But how long was
- 15:35this sequel in the works. I felt like that was five years that we
- 15:39knew about Top Gun two. Did you ever see it? Top Gun two.
- 15:41Yeah, I did. Yeah, we ended up watching it was really
- 15:43good. Yeah you yeah, I think I watched it. I remember I
- 15:46was I was hungry, so I had a gummy snack and I just remember
- 15:50the movie being hilarious, hilarious. I don't know if it was a comedy
- 15:54or what. I don't remember it being funny. I just remember having snacks.
- 16:00Now here's what you need to know. Well, in case you missed
- 16:03it, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheedle did end up resigning yesterday, and the
- 16:07moment we've all been waiting for President Joe Biden. We're returning to the White
- 16:12House yesterday and he's going to give an Oval Office address tonight, so all
- 16:17the conspiracy theories can end that he is well, there's one that he's We
- 16:21saw there was video of him getting onto the plane what do they call that
- 16:25plane, air Force one yesterday yesterday reporters were shouting at him. Okay,
- 16:30all right, I miss that, bitch. I'm thinking that he might be
- 16:33actually alive. So anybody who is peddling that conspiracy, you know, it's
- 16:37fine to have conspiracies, but when you're obviously wrong, you need to at
- 16:41least admit so address it. Well. He is going to be addressing tonight
- 16:44his decision about why he is stepping down, and then also he is going
- 16:48to outline what he is going to be doing for his last six months in
- 16:51office. Vice President Kamala Harris is on the campaign trail and we're finding out
- 16:53she requested vetting materials from about five possible running mates yesterday, including Minnesota Governor
- 17:00Him Waltz, Donald Trump, and JD. Vance. They're headed to Minnesota
- 17:03for a campaign rally in Saint Cloud on Saturday as well. Thank Cloud,
- 17:07Minnesota. Yeah, look at that. Minnesota the hot spot for the weekend.
- 17:11I guess some of us go for the lakes, others go for the
- 17:14politics. I go for the lakes. You all right, the stots.
- 17:21I go for the politics. And the state high school wrestling. Say what
- 17:23you want about North Dakota. I mean the Minnesota wrestling is it's significantly better,
- 17:29leaps and bounds, better wrest If anybody was wondering the contrast of the
- 17:33two states, it's not even close. I only know about Minnesota wrestling,
- 17:36so yeah, yeah, that's where you grew up. It's fine, it
- 17:38is. Yeah, Matt Rat's baby, Listen if you're there's probably North Dkota
- 17:42wrestlers going. Jeezpike, I would have smoked you and probably would. You're
- 17:45right, yes you would. I'm not saying. I'm not saying that.
- 17:48I'm saying as a whole Actually, just a little search yesterday because I'm looking
- 17:52at activities and I think my son is ready to red out on the mat.
- 17:56Yes, I think it'd be good for him. Keeps showing his peep
- 17:59at schools. Is that going to be an issue on the met is not
- 18:02happening? No longer? Nope, it can be can be a good tactic
- 18:06on the I'm not no, No, it's been better though. We're we're
- 18:11on Uh, we're on the uphill. We're moving on. It's like he
- 18:15got a chart at home day days since Briggs showed his pep stop it bike.
- 18:21What? No, that's too, isn't it. He's been great.
- 18:23Yes, otherwise there because if he's listening right now, he's been doing so
- 18:26good. We're very proud of him. He uh didn't consider that he might
- 18:30be listening. And also we're going to a parade on Saturday. It's Deer
- 18:33Trail Days. Oh yeah, yes, And the only way we're gonna go
- 18:37and do all these really fun things. Is if you know everybody is listening,
- 18:42and if everybody's listening to the show, you might not be going to
- 18:47that parade. The way things have been going today, you my friend killing
- 18:52me today, You're killing me all right. New celebrity torch bearers for the
- 18:56Olympics have been revealed. Snoop Dogg and Selma Hyak are set to carry the
- 19:00Olympic torch ahead of the opening ceremony. If you're thinking, I thought it
- 19:03was lebron so basically around eleven thousand people have ended up holding this torch through
- 19:08France. It started back in May, so of course will end on Friday
- 19:12at the opening ceremony. We're also finding out Celen Dion is set to perform
- 19:17and they give her like two million dollars for one song. I just don't
- 19:19know what song it's gonna be. I thought for sure this but because you
- 19:22loved me, I mean they're also romantic though, well it's all coming back
- 19:27to me now. It would be my pick. That's like I was just
- 19:30saying. I was just randomly thinking the other day, I think I'm I
- 19:33might like that better than the Titanic theme, which is good did we have
- 19:37that? I can't even know it's coming back swim? Yes, song coming
- 19:42back so good. Nothing like a recording a Celine Dion and then me singing
- 19:48a different Celendion song at the same time. You're just killing it today.
- 19:52Weather, it gonna be great sunshine high of eighty three. That's nice.
- 19:56Let me look up our top songs, hang on, it's got to be
- 19:59it right according to this racer? Is that right? Because you of me?
- 20:06What? That was a theme from what? Because you loved me from
- 20:10up close and personal? Yeah, that's number two. My heart will go
- 20:11on number one, and then it's all coming back to me now. I
- 20:15mean I would disagree with this list, but the power of love that was
- 20:18that's on this number four. The power of love seeing that tune for me,
- 20:22I feel like I'm getting this mixed up with a Jana Jackson song.
- 20:26I don't think I can do it all right, We'll I have to let
- 20:29you down here, folks. I apologize in the morning. Big Naty eight
- 20:32point seven tragedy struck on a highway yesterday. Are you familiar with the Wiener
- 20:40Mobile? Oh? Very yes. Have you ever taken a ride in the
- 20:44Wienermobile? I have not. I've seen it cruising through town, but I
- 20:47have I've never actually been up close in personal. Oh, it's a trip,
- 20:51you have. The Oscar Meyer wienermobile yesterday was part of a crash on
- 20:56a highway. Yeah, very serious crash took place in Illinois. The twenty
- 21:00three foot Wiener actually a Hyundai by the way. If you're wondering, what
- 21:03is it really actually interesting? Yeah, yeah, the old wienermobile is Yeah,
- 21:07it rolled over onto the side of the vehicle. Now, nobody was
- 21:11injured. What do you call the guy driving the wienermobile? Uh, the
- 21:15Oscar Meyer representative. It's probably just Oscar himself right now. Actually, funny
- 21:19enough, there are six Wiener mobiles in rotation that travel the country spreading the
- 21:25good word of the hot dog. And so he's okay. But you know,
- 21:29imagine driving by and you got a big old Wiener sitting on its side
- 21:32on the side of the highway Oscar Meyer and I'm not totally in tune with
- 21:36the hot dog world. I don't want to offend anybody. Is it still
- 21:40relevant or is this like an old outdated thing. Are people still buying Oscar
- 21:42Meyer Wieners? Yeah? I think absolutely, But now, I know you
- 21:47are very brand loyal. You know me, Ambassador hot dogs all around.
- 21:52Yeah, if you've ever listened to the show, there's a good chance you've
- 21:53heard a man go on about Ambassador hot dogs. I don't know if I've
- 21:56had one, but whatever it is, oh my gosh, there's nothing like
- 22:00it. So for me, I'm not an Oscar Mayer Wiener fan. I'm
- 22:03not even like a ballpark for a ballpark. Frank, if you're at an
- 22:07event or something, you know, I'll I'll have a hot dog. You'll
- 22:11dabble, I'll dabble for a free hot dog, or you know, whatever
- 22:14it may be. But overall, if I'm buying it, we're going Ambassador
- 22:18hot dogs. Now. Is there an op charge for the brand? That's
- 22:21the thing. They're kind of skinny and small. Remember I told you so
- 22:22you have to put two in one, butN you gotta double up. I
- 22:26gotta double them up for me. Sometimes I go, no bun and then
- 22:30I put I'm getting so hungry right now. I then cut them up like
- 22:36a kid, and then put it with pork and beans, and then like
- 22:40scoop it up with potato chips. Oh my gosh, just put it in.
- 22:44It's my favorite with a little side of coleslaw. This is a good
- 22:48idea for you to try. I saw it in social media. It's a
- 22:51basically reverse hot dog where you just cut open, slice open a long,
- 22:55big hot dog down the middle, and then kind of put bread in the
- 22:56middle. It's called a dot hog. Can you picture that? No,
- 23:02well, picture a hot dog. No. I'm trying to understand how they
- 23:04just there's so stuff small where you'd like to try to stuff the bread in
- 23:08there wouldn't be easy. Well, it would have to be a sizable wiener.
- 23:11Yeah, No, that's that's gonna be a challenge. I'm not here
- 23:14for that. I mean, it's all the same what you just described isn't
- 23:17any different. It's all going to the same place. Like your parents used
- 23:19to tell you, Okay, what a myth, what a stupid thing.
- 23:22Parents. I hope you're not telling your kids that, you know what I
- 23:25mean? Like if I didn't want to drink milk as a kid, whole
- 23:27milk or whatever the heck they were serving. It's like, why you like
- 23:30ice cream? Don't you? Oh, shut off, it's not the same.
- 23:33My gosh, I cannot wait for you to have children. Can't.
- 23:36Why are you doing that? No, I mean there's healthy choices and there's
- 23:38not healthy choices. I'm going to be reasonable about it. I'm not gonna
- 23:42lie. I'm gonna say, Okay, I understand you don't like milk,
- 23:45and ice cream is way better. I objectively marking this down. Are you
- 23:49a kid? I'm gonna be reasonable with them. You're gonna be so over
- 23:56there. You're gonna make up the most ridiculous things that you don't even realize.
- 23:59No, if I can't be honest with them, ice cream and milk,
- 24:02same thing. Yeah, your parents, I see your eye rolls.
- 24:04They're in the back of your head right now. Like, get a minute
- 24:07in the morning, get on Big seven. Here we are midsummer, and
- 24:14depending on how old you aren't, you probably have a lot of weddings to
- 24:18attend. I feel like I've now gotten past that point of all of my
- 24:19friends getting married multiple weddings this summer. But if you are in that phase
- 24:23we went through, iroll never forget it. I just remember every weekend.
- 24:29I don't never forget it, and don't even ask, because all you were
- 24:33doing was going to a wedding. I mean, it was just non stop
- 24:37but people talk about the cost of having your own wedding, which of course
- 24:38is can be ridiculous, but going to other people's weddings, it really does
- 24:42add up when you think about all the expenses that go with it, right,
- 24:45I mean they say they've done this study now and they found literally in
- 24:48a lifetime it's tens of thousands of dollars you're spending on travel, you know,
- 24:55in the time off if needed, hotel, the gifts, the gifts
- 24:59are out of control. We just stop. I mean, yes and no.
- 25:02I think it kind of depends. For No, I think the fifty
- 25:04to one hundred dollars range is probably plenty. I always struggle with dollars.
- 25:08I think it depends on and this is kind of my how I go about
- 25:12it. Is if I'm going to be, you know, taking time off
- 25:15to go to your wedding, and then I have to get a hotel,
- 25:19and I'm doing that as I'm spending more money, your gift is decreasing.
- 25:23But people don't think of it that way. When I'm the couple and I'm
- 25:26opening up. But you know, twenty dollars bill from the What's your Last
- 25:30Name Again? Linder Linder Jean made a name though you were heading there.
- 25:34That's way Linder family. It's like, oh, I'm not going. Oh
- 25:38you know what, It's okay because they had to get a hotel. See.
- 25:41But I also think you you might not at that moment, but eventually
- 25:45once you start going to them and being a part of it and I don't
- 25:48know, having kids and bills and lives, like I think people are becoming
- 25:52less, I guess, more flexible with it. And also for me,
- 25:56if you're planning a wedding, if you can't come, I'm not going to
- 25:59be mad about it, you know what I mean? I get it.
- 26:02Things are expensive. That's just the way it is. Don't you think we
- 26:04can cut back on the amount of things though, especially with the wedding like
- 26:07the bridle the bridle shower, Like when was that invented? So that was
- 26:11so long ago. And I remember my mom wasn't here for my second wedding
- 26:15unfortunately, but I remember when I first got married my mom and it was
- 26:19so structured, and that's that side of the family was very much like we're
- 26:23having the church bridle shower, You're doing the pampered chef party, You're doing
- 26:27all of these things. This is exactly how it's going to go down.
- 26:30I remember her asking like eating carssages. I'm like, nobody, nobody is
- 26:36going to care if I'm wearing a cassage at my bridle show. Carssage like
- 26:41the flowers. Oh corsage, corsage, I think you're combining it with unless
- 26:45it was made out of like a flaky bread, call it a cassage like
- 26:51a croissante. It actually sounds kind of taste that's actually going to sound good.
- 26:53But just all of that that goes into it. Plus if you're in
- 26:56the wedding, the bridle shower on top of the bachelorette because then you're doing
- 27:00gifts for that too, and it's like, oh, you're just doing you
- 27:03know, just bring a pair of underwear. Yeah, that's like fifty bucks
- 27:07these days, and it's so pointless and stupid. Paired with the bridle shower,
- 27:11which a lot of people have multiple depending on the location of family,
- 27:15and then you know there's the yeah, you're right, and then the wedding
- 27:18gift itself. I do understand though, when it is your first of all,
- 27:22it's your first wedding, but then also if you have this whole dream,
- 27:26your whole life. I mean, that's what happens. You think that
- 27:29it's your time to shine, and you you try to make that special for
- 27:33some people. I get all of that, but there has to come a
- 27:36little give and take. Yeah, here I complain about it. But then
- 27:38when it's when it comes to your wedding, of course, you know,
- 27:41like you're Yeah, I get annoyed of having to spend a little money on
- 27:45like sharing an Airbnb for somebody's bachelor party. Meanwhile, like I went to
- 27:48Vegas for mine, I was gonna say, Pike, why don't you tell
- 27:51us about your wedding because I believe you did go to Vegas for it.
- 27:52I believe you did get married on a Friday in Duluth, so a lot
- 27:56of people had to take the day off work. I mean, I remember
- 28:00exactly. Is inconvenient your wedding? I didn't have to go? Are you
- 28:06kidding me? Can you imagine if I wouldn't have win? She seemed more
- 28:07than willing it showed up. When you showed up. It seemed like you
- 28:11were more than excited to be there. Trust me. We you know a
- 28:15lot of people pregame before wed Yes, too, Yeah, you pre gamed
- 28:18the pregame that day. Oh my gosh, no, trust me though,
- 28:22because if we did get married into Luth, and I'm going to do Luth
- 28:25next weekend for the golf trip, actually playing the same course. We got
- 28:26married at beautiful north Wind Country Club. But we're looking at hotels and airbnbs
- 28:32and my god, it's possibly the most expensive place to be in. Oh,
- 28:34you got married in August, so that was really nice too. So
- 28:37that was convenient. And oh you spent money for that. Your mother in
- 28:41law didn't pay for your hotel. I don't remember the gift I gave you
- 28:45though, Yeah, me, neither. You had to have been a gift
- 28:48obviously. Obviously you have cut back quite a lot because of the hotel.
- 28:52The day of work must have been in the morning. Seven. Imagine a
- 28:56world where today was Thursday and tomorrow is your Friday. I'm talking about a
- 29:02four day work week. Is it possible? Some people are doing it.
- 29:04Some people are considering doing it. In fact, they're doing studies like crazy.
- 29:08So I feel like they tease us with this all the time, as
- 29:11though it's something that's really going to just happen. Well, it's never going
- 29:15to be, like you know, a federal law. It's just going to
- 29:17be an employers dependent I know people who haven't. They only work Monday through
- 29:21Thursday. However, they're doing like these big studies to determine if it is
- 29:25something that's worth doing. And one study, for example, at eighty companies,
- 29:29it did determine that there was less burnout, less people leaving their jobs
- 29:33when they worked a four day work week. I mean, of course,
- 29:37right, yeah, that would be amazing more productivity even Yeah, because you're
- 29:41holding you back, you're jamming it all in. You're just kind of like
- 29:44motivated when you're there. It's like, yeah, I gotta get this done.
- 29:45For me, it would be the actual day of rest. Especially now
- 29:48with kids and everything, it's just very much the weekend hits and it's just
- 29:52it's go time. You know, there is really no downtime. So to
- 29:56be able to have a day of it's like, you know what, this
- 30:00is our family chill day, you know, because you do you want to
- 30:02stay active and do different things. Yeah, I mean nobody's making you.
- 30:04Of course. Why is it go time on Saturday? I don't know,
- 30:07just because that's the time all of us are together and it's like from sun
- 30:11up to sundown. You get to enjoy those moments of whatever you're like,
- 30:15whatever you like to do. I don't know, but you think we went
- 30:18to a four day work week, eventually'd be like, you know, really
- 30:19a three day week seems I could probably be the best likely. What day
- 30:25would you pick for me? It's Monday. I would love to have Monday's
- 30:27office kind of just like a reset day after the weekend and work hard.
- 30:32It's one thing that if I were to take a day off, but if
- 30:33it was just permanent, then Monday wouldn't be Monday anymore, you know what
- 30:37I mean. Then it'd be like Tuesday would be Monday. Is it like
- 30:41anything when you just well, once you get used to it, change your
- 30:44schedule. I get what you're saying. If you were just to take a
- 30:45one off day off, why Monday would be a benefit. But if it's
- 30:48just every week you just don't work on Mondays, Monday would now become Sunday.
- 30:52Kind of a little mind it really is puzzle for you. I'm going
- 30:56to try it. I've got some vacation days to burn pace, So starting
- 30:59Monday, I'm off like every Monday for the next Yeah, which in a
- 31:03way is a vacation for me too, and really everybody. Yeah, no,
- 31:06I'm kidding. I'll miss you, of course, but you know they
- 31:07also one company is considering going to a flexible work week, so instead of
- 31:12doing a four day work week, you have a said amount of hours you
- 31:15have to work and you can just do it whenever. And some companies I
- 31:18like that are cool like that where if you got stuff going on in the
- 31:22morning with your kids, go ahead and start at ten am, but then
- 31:25you got a work tell six pm or seven or whatever. That ends nowadays,
- 31:29and I think most jobs are like this. You don't really get to
- 31:32walk away from it. I mean, you're you're always available. People know
- 31:36that they can get in touch with you. And again, it totally does
- 31:37depend on your job. If I'm a gas station clerk, as soon as
- 31:41I walk out the door, I'm no longer concerned about the gas station club
- 31:44out. I'm sure Tina's still calling about the receipts from somebody who bought the
- 31:48pizza at the pump, or who knows not the pizza at that pump.
- 31:53Is there somebody at the pump selling pizzas? Who knows? See that could
- 31:56have been the situation they were dealing with. Why not add that to the
- 32:00prompts on the gas station pump because you've already got eleven, you know,
- 32:02with a car wash, receipts, rewards. Are you a rewards? Do
- 32:07you want a pizza as well?
