- 0:20Everyone looking to bless this mess. On the Drue Grump podcast, I'm Carrie.
- 0:23It was Stu say hey, Stu, Hey, all right, stud
- 0:26has an attitude already. Yes, I did whatever. That's because he's always
- 0:30screwing around. I'm like, let's go, let's go, we're here,
- 0:32let's do this, and he's just always something else. I gotta take a
- 0:35drink. I gotta do this, I gotta do that. No, you
- 0:37were playing on your phone. I wasn't playing on my phone. Stewart.
- 0:40You were playing on your phone. You were just playing on your phone,
- 0:43and you showed me you were playing on your phone. Yes, I did,
- 0:47okay, but that's because you were screwing around doing god okay. Anyways,
- 0:50No, I wasn't. I'm doing stuff on the computer for the podcast.
- 0:53That's what I'm doing. Anyways, moving on, Sorry we missed last
- 0:58week. We had about of illness come through and I got the brunt of
- 1:03it, like our toddler had RSV but she was fine. You're all week.
- 1:10No, you're usually sick all the time. Usually the one that gets
- 1:11sick. I have some sort of I don't know what it is, but
- 1:15I can't get over, like if I get a virus that affects my sinuses.
- 1:19It always turns into a like needing an antibiotic situation. I never get
- 1:23any better. It just keeps getting worse. And it happens like usually like
- 1:26twice a year. So anyways, so I didn't get any better. I
- 1:30eventually had to just go to the doctor and get an antibiotic after like ten
- 1:33days of being miserable. But everybody seems to be better now. I'm still
- 1:38recovering though, like I'm still there's still problems, but we're we're on the
- 1:42making, thank you. Anyways, So this week is a little bit different
- 1:49because I was working on a series of episodes where they were like I don't
- 1:53know if you remember, a long time ago, we did like bless this
- 1:57Mess road trip and so we went out of the South and we went to
- 2:00another I think we did one in Massachusetts or something like that. Yes,
- 2:05So I was working on something like that, and I I wasn't planning on
- 2:09recording these yet, but because of the illness, I've had to pull one
- 2:13from one that I wrote and this, and so they are a little bit
- 2:15shorter episodes anyways, but we're going to Wisconsin's too. We're not paying the
- 2:23South. I know if you want to shut this podcast off right now because
- 2:25we've broken the rules. But it wasn't like a series we were going to
- 2:29start drawing South Wisconsin. I don't. It's south of Milwaukee, Milwaukee,
- 2:37which is actually pronounced Milwaukee, which is out Gonquin for the good Land according
- 2:44to Alice Cooper. Anyway, oh, from Wayne's World. Okay, so
- 2:47Stu's been dying to say that. I have not. I say it all
- 2:53the time anybody says anything about Milwaukee. Okay, we don't really talk about
- 2:57Milwaukee that often. It doesn't come up in conversation. It does not because
- 3:02we don't drink Milwaukee beer. Is that a beer? We don't drink that.
- 3:07So I don't use the power tools. I get the d Waltz,
- 3:08not the mellowak. Okay, so well, Milwaukee doesn't really come up in
- 3:13casual conversation for us very often. So anyways, so we're going to Wisconsin
- 3:16this week, so may we can give people that aren't from this out the
- 3:21hard time too. Oh gies that do terrible things to people. So kind
- 3:25of a funny looking fella. You know that's gonna get old real fast,
- 3:30though. Oh geezes, my northern My stepdad's from Minnesota, so I know
- 3:37all these things. Yeah, okay, anyways, I'd like to go to
- 3:40Wisconsin someday. Looks like a nice place get some cheese. Probably not in
- 3:46the winter time. I don't think I can handle it. Probably not.
- 3:47But anyways, with that, uh, check out the Instagram the Facebook.
- 3:53If you check out Instagram, you can see these awesome hocus pocus cookies I
- 3:57made. I did so good. I'm so proud myself. You didn't make
- 4:01the cookies. Cookies were already made. No, the cookies, are you
- 4:04kidding me? You just painted them pain? He's so, He's so annoying.
- 4:09This was like ended up being like a five hour class. I didn't
- 4:12realize it was like I thought when they scheduled that much time for the class,
- 4:15I was like, oh, this is not gonna take that long.
- 4:16I was like, I'll be home early. This is probably for like cause
- 4:19you can go with like friends and stuff like that. But you know,
- 4:21I don't have any. So I went by myself, and I was thinking
- 4:25I was the only one there by myself. There was another girl next to
- 4:27me, though there was other sad people there. There was another there's a
- 4:30girl next to me named Mandy, and she was there by herself too,
- 4:32So that's your new friend. Yeah, that's my new friend. So she
- 4:35had a hocus Pokes shirt on too, so yeah and she worked. Yeah.
- 4:40Yeah, well anyways, I talked to her some. But no,
- 4:42I wasn't the only one there by myself. There's lots of people there by
- 4:45themselves, and there were groups of people. But I was like, oh,
- 4:46it's for like they just need the five hours because people are gonna be
- 4:49like drinking wine and chit chat and stuff. No, it takes a really
- 4:54anytime. Now I've learned how much work is put into sugar cookies. So
- 4:58yes, the cookies were baked before I got the Obviously I couldn't bake them.
- 5:00There is a class where you learn how to bake the sugar creeky stuff.
- 5:03But I decorated them like one hundred percent from scratch and I thought they
- 5:10turned out really well. But moving on from that because Doo doesn't care.
- 5:15But don't sit there and say I didn't I didn't make those cookies. I
- 5:17didn't bake the actual cookies, obviously, Stuart. I decorated them from the
- 5:23start. I even posted pictures on Instagram to approve it, Stewart, So
- 5:28you didn't decorate them from the land Stewart, shut up. Oh my god,
- 5:31you're so annoying. Anyways, So check out Instagram, Facebook. We
- 5:35got our Patreon. You can see that in the show notes for early access
- 5:40and ad free and yeah, check that out. So I guess we'll go
- 5:44ahead and get into this week's case out of Wisconsin. We're going on a
- 5:48road trip that's not gonna get old at all. So Barbara Carol Kinhammer Nay
- 5:57Adams was born on March fourth, nineteen seventy. At the young age of
- 6:00sixteen, Barbara, who went by Barb, met Todd Kinhammer. I want
- 6:04to pronounce it kenden Hammer, but it's Kintammer. Anyways. They would remain
- 6:10friends until nineteen eighty nine, when they began dating. In August nineteen ninety
- 6:14one, they would tie the knot and begin their life together. Now shortly
- 6:16after their marriage, they would have two kids, Jordan and Jessica. Now
- 6:20throughout their marriage they were described as happy and Todd doated on Barb Barb.
- 6:26I was gonna say, Barbara, Barb, Babs. The kids don't recall
- 6:30them fighting much, and their dad was smitten with their mom and he would
- 6:34pretty much give her whatever she wanted. He just seemed very much in love
- 6:39with Barb. Now, Barb would work in a school cafeteria, while Todd
- 6:43worked at a manufacturing company making aluminum cans or aluminium if you're from England stood
- 6:49the other side of the pond. Yeah, they say that in Australia took
- 6:54They also began flipping houses to make extra money. Now Todd also had a
- 6:58side gig of replacing wind shields on his vehicles. So they're like the they're
- 7:01the they're back in the hustle days, you know, like where everybody's got
- 7:05Like I feel like nowadays everybody has like three or four different ways that they
- 7:09make income or whatever. They were like that back then. Now, by
- 7:12the time the children were grown, they were doing very well financially and on
- 7:15all accounts, seemed very happy. On the morning of September sixteenth, twenty
- 7:21sixteen, Todd and Barb headed out the door. They were headed to a
- 7:26neighbor's house who they were house sitting for, at around seven forty five am.
- 7:30The next stop that morning was supposed to be the school where Barb worked,
- 7:33which was West Salem Middle School. Todd was going to drop Barb off,
- 7:39then continue to run some errands, and then pick her up afterwards.
- 7:44However, Kara, yeah, this would all come to a tragic halt.
- 7:48While driving north on Highway M north of Highway M. I don't know what
- 7:54that means. Who has a Highway M whitening and number up there? I
- 8:00don't know. S. There's lots of streets that just have letters it says
- 8:03highway Highway M. I don't know what they're doing up in wiscats and Okay,
- 8:07well I don't either, Stem highways. I don't know. They probably
- 8:09think a lot of stuff we do is really dumb. Okay, Anyway,
- 8:13while they're driving on this highway, which is actually in the opposite direction of
- 8:16the school where Bob worked, Barb Barb Bob. I said Barbie, No,
- 8:22you said Bob No? You thought I said Bob bye, Babs.
- 8:24Babs, Todd crashed his sedan with Barb in the passenger seat at eight o
- 8:33five am. Todd calls nine on one and reports the accident. He tells
- 8:37the operator that Barb looks like she has been hitting the head or throat or
- 8:39something, and that she is badly injured. Now, police and medics arrive
- 8:45on scene and begin questioning Todd. While rendering aid to Barb. Todd tells
- 8:48police that a pipe came from a truck or a trailer and struck Barb.
- 8:54You know during this, oh geez came off the truck and go through the
- 8:56window. He told police that he thought the pipe was a bird, but
- 9:01realized later it was not. So things are looking sketched, or maybe he's
- 9:05just confused during the accident. We don't know. We don't know. I
- 9:09mean, it's perfectly feasible that a bird could go through like a pipe,
- 9:13look like a pipe going through a car windshield. Now, he was taken
- 9:18to the hospital where Barb was being treated, still being questioned by police.
- 9:22Now that afternoon, with her children and husband Todd by her side, Barb
- 9:26was pronounced brain dead. She was removed from life support and then pronounced that
- 9:31she had passed. Now police photographed Todd and he had blood all over his
- 9:37shirt, which said I don't give a with a picture of a rat and
- 9:43a donkey on it, so I don't give a rat's ass. He had
- 9:48busted up knuckles. You never go out the house like that. You could
- 9:50I mean, I'm STU always tells me. I can't believe. I'll be
- 9:54like, oh, I'm running up to get a coffee and I'm like I'm
- 9:56not getting out of the car, It's fine, and he's just like looking
- 9:58at me like your serioususe like that. This is why you don't leave the
- 10:03house like that, because anything can happen. The next thing you know,
- 10:05you're on the news with I don't give a rat's ass shirt on looking looking
- 10:09rough, looking like you were going to the Dollar General, yes, or
- 10:13the Walmart and you actually had to go to the Target and go in h
- 10:18very different different places that you dress forced to. Yes, I would never
- 10:24go to the Target. I don't even oh there's yeah, there's definitely Dollar
- 10:26General dress you would dress nice, would dress nicer, go to Walmart and
- 10:28then the nicest to go to Target. Wow? What? I can't believe
- 10:35you have rating system for word? Everybody does. I'm not the only one
- 10:39I know. You just dressed to be like go anywhere? Yes, whatever?
- 10:46What are two different peoples do? Yes? We are now Old Todd
- 10:50had some busted up knuckles and scratches on his hand, and he said the
- 10:54bloody knuckles came from hitting the windshield when he thought something was coming at the
- 10:58car, which is a weird thing to be punching a windshield. I did
- 11:03not punch my windshield when I got in my car, right, Why would
- 11:07you punch a windshield if you thought a bird was coming? That's stick your
- 11:09hands punched the bird from coming. I don't know, very very weird.
- 11:15What are you trying to say about Todd. I don't know, Stu.
- 11:18Now. He also had scratches on his chest as well as on his neck,
- 11:22and he said those were from working with class. When describing the vehicle
- 11:26that the pipe came off of, it was a pickup truck with a flat
- 11:33bed on the back. He did not get the color. He said it
- 11:35was traveling in the opposite direction of them. Now, police were able to
- 11:39pull footage from a nearby farm that showed a short clip of Todd and Barbara
- 11:45driving north at seven point fifty seven. No other truck was seen passing by
- 11:50in the opposite direction, so Todd did not expect a camera. I'm guessing
- 11:56at a farm. No local police put out the truck's information for the community
- 12:03to be on the lookout, which is like a bolo carry. Yes,
- 12:07the Lingo report if it was seen, they would like to ask the owner
- 12:11a few questions about that day to confirm Todd's story. Yeah, because you
- 12:18know, they're like, maybe we just didn't catch the angle with the flatbed
- 12:20truck everything like that. We need to just look more into this. Things
- 12:24are looking weird. And whenever he said he worked, he got the scratch
- 12:26from working with a glass room ember. He was changing out those windshields as
- 12:28a side business. I didn't know there was a lot of like, yeah,
- 12:33I take the broken ones own. I guess why are you scratching your
- 12:37neck with the broken glass if you carry it on your should Why would you
- 12:39carry broken glass on your shoulder so you'd have an alibi in case you were
- 12:43doing something the farius. I don't know. Now there were other problems with
- 12:46Todd's story and Barb's actions that day. Barb was not wanted to be late
- 12:50for work, and she had never been late. However, that day she
- 12:54was scheduled to be at work at eight a m. But she never called
- 12:56and let never let anybody know she would be late. So I mean,
- 13:01that's just out of character for her. And like I said, they saw
- 13:03them driving at seven fifty seven, and they were not They were going to
- 13:05the opposite direction of the school. She was obviously going to be late.
- 13:09She also did not call her mother, which she did on a daily basis
- 13:11every morning. There was also still confusion as to why they would drive away
- 13:16from the school, making Barb blake now. Tod told investigators on the way
- 13:20to the hospital, which was recorded, that he decided to go buy a
- 13:24friend's home his name was Justin him and pick up his truck that needed the
- 13:28wind child replace. The keys were left in the vehicle, and Todd never
- 13:33called and told Justin. He just decided on a whim he was going to
- 13:35go do this. So he had talked, made these he'd said he made
- 13:39these plans with Justin. Justin said, hey, I'll leave the keys in
- 13:41the car. But Todd just decided suddenly when he was gonna go take Barb
- 13:46to work that morning, He's just gonna run by and go get that truck.
- 13:48Real guilty. I got to pick it up and change the windshill without
- 13:52ever talking to Justin. Be cause they said, did you talk to Justin?
- 13:54And He's like, no, I didn't talk to him. I was
- 13:56just going to try to do it that I'm just houseling money. Yep,
- 13:58he just trying to make the bring down the bacon, trying to make ends
- 14:01meet. Now, meanwhile, Barb was at the Medical Examiner's office or the
- 14:07emme, if you would, if you will their care. Are we going
- 14:09to do this the whole time? We might? Doctor Kathleen, Oh goodness,
- 14:16mccobn. Mccobin reminds me of McLevin was confused when she initially examined Barb.
- 14:24The damage done to Barb and her ultimate cause of death did not appear
- 14:28to happen from a pipe coming through the windshield. Barb had three lacerations on
- 14:31the back of her neck, as well as skull fractures and fractures in the
- 14:37neck consistent with strangulation. Barb also had bruising all over her body, a
- 14:43broken nose, laceration on her forehead, and scratches all over, which seemed
- 14:48to indicate a struggle or attack of some sort, according to doctor McCubbin.
- 14:56Doctor mccubn examined the pipe and found the injury to be inconsistent with Todd's story
- 15:01of what happened. Yeah, so, I mean, I guess if you
- 15:05had a if you had a pipe, which these things happen. Things fall
- 15:07for trucks and actually go through people's windshields and hurt them. If a pipe
- 15:13came through, it would have just been I would think damage to the face.
- 15:16You wouldn't be having lacerations other places on the body and things like that.
- 15:22So now you got to take that car off the road wreck and jostle
- 15:28Yeah, the occupants around again. I guess if you crashed after it went
- 15:31to the windshield, yes, But either way, she looked at it.
- 15:35I believe she looked at it from all angles and it just wasn't matching up,
- 15:37saying it looks suspicious. It looks suspicious according to doctor mccup Doctor mccuppy.
- 15:43What about doctor mclovin, I don't know that's a doctor mclovin. What's
- 15:48that from mclovin. I don't I can't remember the Much American Pie, no
- 15:52super Bad or something. Oh well, I think doctor mclovin was from Gray's
- 15:56Anatomy. I thought, I don't know anything. Oh no, that was
- 16:00doctor McDreamy and doctor McSteamy. Okay, now please put the you know I
- 16:06watched I I did watch Gray's Anatomy, but I only watched it the first
- 16:08couple of seasons. Whenever that girl died, Catherine Heigl maybe when her character
- 16:14died and then she like reappeared as like a ghost. I was like,
- 16:17Okay, you guys have lost me. I thought this was like a medical
- 16:18procedure. But anyways, now please put the word out that they are seeking
- 16:22information about the wreck. A construction worker came forward, saying at eight am,
- 16:26about five minutes before the nine one one call, he passed the vehicle.
- 16:30He said that during that time when he passed it, the car was
- 16:33not damaged at all. There was nothing wrong with the windshield, and he
- 16:37did not see anyone around the vehicle like you would notice, like I would
- 16:41notice if I was driving along and I saw a car on the side of
- 16:44the road and I didn't see any damage to it, I wouldn't really think
- 16:47much of it. But if I saw a car and I saw a giant
- 16:48and be like, oh shit, someone had a wreck. This looks bad
- 16:51or whatever exactly, and and I would note that, and you know,
- 16:56I would remember that and think, why isn't anybody out here? Why,
- 16:57you know, the car should be being told off, should be ambulances,
- 17:00things like that now, So he just assumed someone had accidentally driven off the
- 17:04road, not wrecked because it didn't look like it had been wrecked, but
- 17:07was fine, and left the vehicle to later come back to pick it up
- 17:11like it had broken down or something like something normal had happened, not an
- 17:14actual accident. Now, police track down or Justin him, himI, who
- 17:19is the friend with the busted windshield and the reason that they were supposedly driving
- 17:26down Highway seven which we earlier referred to as Highway M. And I had
- 17:33questions. I wrote this a long time ago. I don't know. Okay,
- 17:37maybe it's Highway seven Hway M. I'm guessing. Okay, Well you
- 17:44continue on. I'll verify if it's Highway M or Highway seven, because our
- 17:48odds are there'll be some listener that's from West Salem, Wisconsin to be like
- 17:55it's Highway seven or idiots. Now, Justin tells police that he had no
- 18:00plans with Todd to fix a broken windshield. He said, in fact,
- 18:04he did not even have a vehicle with a broken windshield. Now, with
- 18:10this information, please bring Todd to the station under the guise of having some
- 18:14leads on the truck that the pipe had come off of. Now Todd is
- 18:18acting nervous as all get out or is written as fuck? I just I
- 18:25think I wanted to whenever I wrote this, like I said I did wrote
- 18:29this long time ago. I think I wanted to when I said Todd is
- 18:33sure, Todd is nervous as fuck. I want to every understand like he's
- 18:40he's just visibly yeah, visibly like looks like he's on some sort of or
- 18:45coming down from something and he needs another fix, like he's on another level.
- 18:48Yeah. So he's bouncing his leg up and down a mile a minute.
- 18:52He's wearing a shirt that says ADHD like ac DC, and it either
- 18:59says on the shirt for those about to oh a rock or highway to look
- 19:03a squirrel. He is also holding I think it's got to be those about
- 19:10two What did I say? The first one was for those about to ooh
- 19:14a rock. Oh. I was trying to figure out what if it said.
- 19:15I was trying to read the shirt. Yeah, why did I say
- 19:22it? Those are very different phrases. Maybe I looked up this shirt online
- 19:26because I couldn't tell what it said, and that's what I found. The
- 19:29two came back after Yes, the two options for these about to Rock or
- 19:33Highway to Hell were the two songs for those about to Ooh a Rock,
- 19:37like like ADHD like Ooh a Rock for those who like rock, and then
- 19:44the other one is like Highway to look a squirrel. You know? Okay,
- 19:49yeah, I read that. Now. He's also holding a prescription pill
- 19:53bottle. He tells police that his anxiety has not that he's anxious because he
- 19:59has not taken his meds that day. The police say, well, okay,
- 20:03then take it, so he begins. He takes it. He begins
- 20:06to kind of ramble, not remembering what he stated before they can confront him
- 20:11with the medical examiner's findings, and he has no explanation. They then tell
- 20:15him that his friend justin never needed is when child replaced, So he changes
- 20:21his story and gives the police another name. Please go check that out come
- 20:26on and that guy also said he did not need a win child replaced.
- 20:30Now, Todd has no reason for driving in the direction that he was when
- 20:37the supposed alleged accident occurred. I think I looked up. I think it
- 20:41might be Highway seven. There's a county road m in a Highway seven.
- 20:47So I'm not sure where I got that from. So I'm gonna we'll find
- 20:51out somebody from West Salem Middle School at the time. No, West Salem
- 20:55Middle School. Well, I'm sure there are adults by now, and they're
- 20:56listening to this podcast. The whole town, probably the whole town listens to
- 21:02this specific party, this specific Okay. Now. Todd was arrested three months
- 21:07later, and we'll go on trial in December of twenty seventeen. The main
- 21:11witness for the prosecution was the medical examiner. I was just gonna say,
- 21:14Todd is so stupid, like he he really didn't think there were being any
- 21:18questioned about this accident, like an accident I used the bunny ear. So
- 21:22he's just coming up with these names, these people, and he just keeps
- 21:26coming up with more, and they're like, no, I mean he didn't
- 21:27even I would have cared. Don't if you're gonna lie about why you were
- 21:30going in direction, don't actually provide a person's name that you don't have any
- 21:36actual plans. Yeah, that doesn't has no clue. They're like, I
- 21:38don't even know Todd that well, Todd, who Todd? Who's Todd?
- 21:44Like come up with something that doesn't have an actual thing you can confirm like
- 21:48that. They just have to go, or she wanted to go like apple
- 21:52picking. I don't know, I get a coffee. I don't know.
- 21:56Yeah, anything, Okay. So so they brought got the medical examiner on
- 22:02and upon cross examination, the defense did their best to explain all of Barbe's
- 22:06injuries, asking that medical examiner if her large cup of water could have caused
- 22:10that. So you girls will carrying those big water cups back when it looked
- 22:15like a five gallon bucket with a handle, is that those Well, now
- 22:19I've turned into a basic bitch. I've bought onto I didn't get a Stanley
- 22:22because I didn't. I got it like something called a a simply modern,
- 22:26but because it has like it's black and it's like leopard, and it's very
- 22:30I don't know what you mean with this, You've turned into one because all
- 22:33the basic bitches bitch Okay, I know, but I'm taking up to another
- 22:38level. So all the all the girlies on the on the GRAM have the
- 22:42Stanley cups that they walk around with and everything. And I do have a
- 22:45cup a water cup I've been using I got from Walmart. It doesn't have
- 22:49a handle and it's not as big and it doesn't keep his stuff as cold.
- 22:52But I love that cup. I'd found it when I was pregnant the
- 22:55first time, and it's been my cup. I have like four of them
- 22:57as backups in case something happens, like I need this cup. But I
- 23:02ventured out and I got me a new cup with the handle like all the
- 23:07the girls on Instagram have. And I've gotta say I like it. It's
- 23:11massive, though it could do some damage. I could knock Steo out.
- 23:15It's great. Say a pipe came through the window or something. So they
- 23:21try to say it was this giant water bottle. I don't think it was
- 23:23like a Stanley cup back then. It was more like those Iglue Big had.
- 23:30Yeah, he's in twenty sixteen, I guess didn't I Yeady's been around
- 23:33for a while. Yeah, but those were super expensive. They're still expensive,
- 23:37or they were probably more expensive back then. I think she had the
- 23:38big iglu type one you get from Walmart. Be nice if somebody research I
- 23:44did research it too, anyways, so they I don't even remember what we
- 23:49were talking about, so they should They said that the cup could have caused
- 23:55some of the injuries or if the long pipe could have hit her from a
- 23:57different from different angles. It gets in there like a cartoon. It's just
- 24:00like Saxmax Mac, like the JFK Magic bullet. Yeah, I guess so,
- 24:07I don't know anyways, So I just whenever they said that, I
- 24:11just imagine like a cartoon where it's like the inanimate object comes to life and
- 24:15beats up somebody. So, however, they completely glazed over the whole all
- 24:19the evidence pointing to strangulation. Now, both the defense and prosecution brought in
- 24:25glass experts. The defense argued that the three brakes were consistent with Todd punching
- 24:30the inside the window, a pipe entering from the front, and another break
- 24:33from Tod where Todd removed the pipe. Again, why are you punching the
- 24:38inside of the window because you think a bird is coming at you? Now,
- 24:44the prosecution says that there were actually two places where the pipe struck from
- 24:48the outside, which would have been impossible without someone striking it. Now,
- 24:52pipe doesn't come off of a truck, hit the windshield and then go back
- 24:55in. So there was two they said, that's like not what happened,
- 24:59the two marks or the Todd hitting the windshield and then hitting again to get
- 25:03the pipe to go through after he killed her, and he's trying to stage
- 25:07this pipe, and they're saying for this to happen, the pipe would have
- 25:11had to the way it's broken, would have had to hit, bounce off,
- 25:15bounce back, and then catapult back into the car. So that which
- 25:18is completely not if the defense says it's possible, it's obviously possible. Okay,
- 25:25well no, no, it could have hit the car in front of
- 25:27it. Because you've lost me when you said that Todd punched the inside of
- 25:30the windshield. Why would he do that? That's so stupid. Nobody does
- 25:33that Todd obviously, hey said he does. You gotta take Todd at face
- 25:38value, don't you? Were you there? No? So anyway, Todd
- 25:45was brought to the stand, and this is when you know they're desperate.
- 25:48If you got your client testify, especially Todd. I mean, god,
- 25:53Todd's an idiot. Have you seen his his interview table? Look at that
- 25:59he wears like right there. I'd be like, no, you're not allowed
- 26:00to go on. You had the one about I don't give a rat's ass
- 26:03and the character shirts with like the ADHD thing. I mean, these are
- 26:07things that fourteen year olds wear. Yeah, grown man, you can wear
- 26:11them as a grown man, but just don't wear them to your place interviews.
- 26:15You're not allowed to wear those. I'm gonna go ahead and get he
- 26:18doesn't owe any shirts like that, and I would divorce him if he did.
- 26:22I'm gonna get, Oh, I got a couple. You don't have
- 26:25any shirts that say stupid sayings like oh yeah, I got that that one
- 26:29that says says what I can't remember a sphincter says, what is that Wayninge's
- 26:37world? Yes, so yeah, I brought it all back full circle.
- 26:44Okay, we'll just we'll think about your shirts later. I got a couple
- 26:48I have some. Okay, Well, I don't ever go out in public
- 26:51with you with those shirts or in the house with those shirts. Yeah,
- 26:57yeah, I do wear them. I got pictures of this way anyway.
- 27:03He continues on the stand to say that he does not well. Start off,
- 27:07Todd says he wasn't in his right mind during the police interview where he
- 27:11appeared frantic. That's his first excuse. He continues on the stand to say
- 27:18he does not recall basically anything he told the police when questioned, and the
- 27:22final nail in the coffin with his testimony was changing his story yet again after
- 27:29the previous two stories did not jive up on why he was on the Highway
- 27:34seven to begin with, might have been on Highway seven MN. Now Todd
- 27:42told the jury that he was headed to the house of Jared Logan. Is
- 27:48that the brother of Kenny login no footloose? Well, Jerald got on the
- 27:56stand, Jared Jared got on a stand and said he had no plans with
- 28:00Todd, which is another lie from Todd. Todd, you were so front
- 28:03the jury, at least pick a best friend that's gonna lie for you.
- 28:10I mean, I've got Mandy from the cookie place. Now that maybe she
- 28:18lonely as No, she had children. She looked like she had. She
- 28:22had one of her kids, was about to graduate high school. No,
- 28:26I started late on the children front, guys. So with geriatric yeah,
- 28:32I mean a lot of people I went to high school with their kids are
- 28:33like on the cusp of graduation and I'm I'm geriatric pregnancy. So now there
- 28:40are holes in the theory. Though it was a very small timeframe for staging
- 28:42this crime, So like there's holes in the prosecution's theory. You know,
- 28:48from the time the construction worker saw the car at eight and the nine one
- 28:52one call it eight oh five, Todd would have only about five minutes to
- 28:56put Barb in the car, slam the pipe through, and start CPR.
- 29:00Now, despite this, the jury found Todd guilty after just nine hours,
- 29:03and Todd was sentenced to life, with eligibility for parole after thirty years.
- 29:07So it would have been quick. But if he'd already my theory is like
- 29:11maybe he'd already killed Barb, killed her before they got in the car,
- 29:15and beat up his truck. Yeah, I could have done that, and
- 29:18then it would have only taken five minutes to throw a pipe th thing and
- 29:22and start CPR. Like you can do a lot in five minutes. I
- 29:25mean, yeah, got two kids. This sick. Oh my god.
- 29:33Okay, so we probably upset the children because they're completely on their dad's side.
- 29:37The daughter said that her dad could have killed her mom with one of
- 29:41the twenty eight guns in the basement. He did not need to stage it,
- 29:45yes, because because that's not obvious, because he was going to go
- 29:51because you're just gonna go shoot her in the house and just say he need
- 29:53to stage it. What are they talking about is trying to get away with
- 29:56it? You can't shoot her? Yeah, to get away. Yeah,
- 30:00we're not saying that. Todd just going to go shoot her because he once
- 30:03here dead and that was it. If oh, if I wanted to kill
- 30:03her or just shoot her, okay, well you'd still have to cover that
- 30:07up somehow. So this was his plan. Now the son, he starts
- 30:11saying that he has more guns than that. Starts like these two are interviewing
- 30:15together. So the girl's like, he has twenty eight guns. If he
- 30:18wanted to kill her, would have killed her with one of those guns.
- 30:21And the sounds like he's got more guns than that, he could just barbally
- 30:25each one. So the kids end up they sell the Kinhammer farm and Jessica's
- 30:30home to pay Todd's legal bills. So they're just going in. I mean,
- 30:33Dave Ramsey would be very upset about this. I'd be very upset about
- 30:37that. Yeah, how are you going to sell off your own home inheritance
- 30:41and your I mean, I don't know if he had Todd had any claim
- 30:44to the I guess it is his property. They could have sold well,
- 30:47it still would have been Barb's property. I mean it would have been passed
- 30:49on to the kids, so he might have still had control to sell it
- 30:52to pay his life. I don't know how that works when you go to
- 30:56jail. I'm not even sure how it works. On was cats and he
- 30:57of the h what on that in Wisconsin? I didn't even know what you
- 31:03said because you said it' so weird wisc. Now the prosecutor even told them
- 31:06at the cenacine they needed to get their heads out of their asses. Basically,
- 31:11does the kids come on, They're like, my dad's didn't do this,
- 31:15Like it's quite obvious that Todd did this. Okay, it's pretty obvious.
- 31:19Then they so they're telling them that the prosecutors like, you guys are,
- 31:26yeah, living a fantasy land that you think your dad didn't news and
- 31:29now you've gone into debt and sold your home and done all this stuff to
- 31:33try to stand up for this guy who killed your mom. Like it was
- 31:36very strange thing. But they're if they're listening to this, they're going to
- 31:38really hate this podcast because we think your dad did it. So, I
- 31:42mean, I'm not I'm on the fence. You're on the fence, Okay,
- 31:45I'm kind of on the pipe, who doesn't want to get in trouble?
- 31:48Not with the kids, No, not with the kids. Jordan and
- 31:52Jessica. Are those not the most quintessential, like nineties names for kids,
- 31:56Jordan and Jessica. I don't know, are they? I think they it's
- 32:00like that, uh, that movie Hercules and he's like when all the girls
- 32:06were named Justin and all the girls were named Brittany. What movie were you
- 32:10talking about? Hercules? What Hercules the cartoon? I didn't see that one.
- 32:16Herculees who put the glad and gladiator Hercules? No? I did not
- 32:22see that one. Is he sweet? Our favorite flavor? Heracues? Come
- 32:27on, okay, I'll stop seeing. I may have seen it. I
- 32:29don't know. Just finish up year and that's how you know that. Neither
- 32:31one of us sing the intro to this podcast. For those that keep asking
- 32:37if we're the ones saying we're not, We're not now. In twenty twenty
- 32:40one, defense attorneys were able to get Todd's case back in front of a
- 32:45judge. What are these people working? A miracle? They were arguing for
- 32:49a new trial, and they sold the farm in the house to get paid
- 32:52for all that. I guess. They were arguing for a new trial,
- 32:54saying his original defense attorney did not do their job. They obviously did because
- 32:59he's not a death row. They brought in experts saying the car toid fracture
- 33:06on the neck was due to the large water jug in the car coming up,
- 33:10and that the pipe could have caused the lesions on the back of the
- 33:14neck. How could the pipe cause the lesions on the back of the neck
- 33:17unless it went through the window, hit the back of the cab, and
- 33:21then hit her in the back of the head up. I mean, those
- 33:24things are killers. I tell you not to have one in the car.
- 33:27They scare me. They also brought forward a test the prosecution had done back
- 33:34in twenty seventeen where they dropped a pipe off a flatbed truck to see how
- 33:38it would bounce. On a few tests that appeared to come up high enough
- 33:42to go into a windshield. Another expert was brought in saying that Todd could
- 33:46have suffered memory loss due to the car craw trying everything, we're trying,
- 33:51We're trying amnesia, all of it. Well, it all worked tides out
- 33:55on No Todd's n oh wait, none of this worked in may have.
- 34:00Twenty twenty two, a judge denied the request for a new trial, which
- 34:05they obviously planned to appeal, because Todd's trying to get the f out of
- 34:08jail, even though I can't even believe he's eligible for pearl Well. I
- 34:15think they're a little bit leaner up theres too, I mean down here next
- 34:19door in Texas than some bitch beyond death row right now. I don't think
- 34:22he'd be on death row. You don't think, No, they don't have
- 34:24a first degree murder like that. Try No one's gonna put They're not wouldn't
- 34:28try to go for death row. And this, this isn't like you could.
- 34:30No one's gonna No one's gonna find him guilty because this, there could
- 34:35be reasons to talk yourself out of this. It's not like he went and
- 34:37shot him with the one of the twenty eight or more guns that he has
- 34:42in his home. This is more in a paris. He beat her professionally
- 34:45about the lips and face stage the accident. He was playing this. They
- 34:50never really talked about the I'm surprised Todd is not that that bright. I'm
- 34:53surprised I didn't find notebooks detail and all this that he die, Like,
- 34:59how do the kids describe? Explain why he lied three times about who he
- 35:02was going to see that day? Like, I don't, I don't understand.
- 35:05I don't understand the kids. I guess I just maybe I don't.
- 35:08I don't like my dad that much, so maybe I'm just like whatever,
- 35:12Damn, Stuart, why you say damn? Like that? Fine? Then
- 35:19I think my dad's great. He's just a great guy. So anyways,
- 35:23we'll cut that out, Stue. No, I don't care what you do,
- 35:28not my dad, I know, all right, So that's our case.
- 35:32Again. It was a short one, but we were trying to like
- 35:36we're just in a We're we told you guys, we're moving. There's a
- 35:38lot of things going on. I'm still I'm having to travel more for work
- 35:42right now because I have to go back and forth from where we're moving to
- 35:45to hear and then we got I'm still trying to like do all the things
- 35:49with the the fall stuff with the kids and everything is just a lot because
- 35:52I don't want him to miss out on all that stuff just because we're moving.
- 35:55And I liked all that stuff too, And then I don't already planned
- 36:00the hocus Pocus cookie class, so I had to go do that, so
- 36:04I'm going to cancel that. Well when this festival. Yeah, but we're
- 36:08going some stuff next weekend, so yes, I got it. Next weekend's
- 36:13all booked up. And then let this past. Yesterday I cooked my brunch
- 36:16with Babs october Fest meal which was really good, made beer cheese, German
- 36:22potato salad, rots, and then a German cheesecake. I'm sure the content
- 36:28will be up before this podcast is. I didn't really record it, so
- 36:31I know I failed. I'm really bad about that kind of stuff. I
- 36:36mean, it takes me a lot to remember to put anything together. Are
- 36:38these Instagram people? I don't know how they do it whenever they it's not
- 36:42their full time job. So anyways, all right, Stu, do you
- 36:45have a yelling Jesus? Of course I do. Okay, well he doesn't,
- 36:47but we'll be right back with that. Oh I got one. I
- 36:50just don't know where it's at. Okay, Well then that means you don't
- 36:52have it, so I'll be right back with it in my pocket somewhere,
- 36:54okay, in your phone? Yeah, yeah, it's not printed out in
- 36:58front of us like my stuff is. Yeah, it's a waste of paper.
- 37:00I just read it off my phone. I saved the Lincoln, then
- 37:02I read it off the phone. Okay, anyways, we'll be right.
- 37:05Come on now, all right, coming to us. From October fifth of
- 37:09this year, we have escaped smuggled rat and otter terrorized passengers on flight to
- 37:17Taiwan. I'm guessing not Florida, not Florida. A plane from Bangkok to
- 37:25Taiwan took a wild turn when a rat and an otter smuggled aboard by a
- 37:30passenger got loose in the main cabin mid flight. I'd be so upset.
- 37:36How do you smuggle an otter? I don't know how you get any Well,
- 37:40there's more. I was confused. Well, this guy is a passenger
- 37:45who is quoted as saying I was confused. So he said again, pet
- 37:50rat, Pet rat. It has a white body and it's not small,
- 37:53one passenger told Viral Press. The Wednesday flight aboard a low cast to be
- 38:00it Jet air flight erupted into panic as the air hostess freaked out upon noticing
- 38:06that passengers what passengers described as an albino rat and a nearly one foot long
- 38:12otter scurrying around on the floor. How do you get this through security?
- 38:19I'm guessing securities a little more lax going from Bangkok to Taiwan low budget airline,
- 38:23they said. A subsequent police search of the vessel also located a box
- 38:30containing twenty eight laf turtles, a snake, one marrimot, two otters,
- 38:37and two other rodents of unknown species among the luggage upon landing in Taipei.
- 38:43How do you have an unknown species? I guess they They just said there
- 38:47was a thing and another animal, so at press time they didn't know what
- 38:52it was. Police have focused their investigation on one female passenger, who allegedly
- 38:59smuggled the creatures through security at the Suvabrumi Okay International Airport in Thailand. The
- 39:07woman faces a penalty of up to thirty one thousand dollars as outlined in the
- 39:12Prevention and Control of Animal Infectious Disease Statute. I don't understand the otter thing,
- 39:20I guess. I guess they are out and about on the ground,
- 39:22but I thought they needed I guess they just like water. Yeah, they
- 39:27like this swim and everything. They live on land or in their beavers live
- 39:32in the dam. Beavers, I told the cabin crew and they checked the
- 39:37plane. The passenger explained, that's when they found the big otter under one
- 39:42of the seats. They kept looking for a white rat. How did you
- 39:44get this on the plane? I don't understand it. I don't know.
- 39:46No, I don't know. Even in a third world country, I don't
- 39:49know how you get through security. Animal world isn't Taiwan. Where were they
- 39:54coming from? Taiwan? The bangkak okay one of these a third world countries.
- 40:01Thailand is not first world okay, but it's not. I don't think
- 40:07they're at this level now. I would think they'd have better airport security.
- 40:09So they kept looking for the white rat, and an employee caught the rat.
- 40:15The passenger added, it bit them on the hand while they carried it
- 40:17back to the kitchen at the back of the plane. Oh why are you
- 40:21carr into the kitchen dinner? Maybe The cab and crew immediately ordered anyone who
- 40:28brought the animals on the plane to make themselves known. The culprit did not
- 40:31come forward initially, but after the cabin crew started investigating, she demanded a
- 40:37refund and admitted to owning the escaped animals. Now that takes some big brass
- 40:43balls. Yeah, just to smuggle. You violate the air rules and then
- 40:46you demand a refund when you get caught smuggling animals. The woman may have
- 40:52bought the animals in a tie market and look to bring them home after a
- 40:55visit. The turtles will remain in quarantine, and the other animals will go
- 41:00to Ping Tung University of Science and Technology for examination and confirmation before authorities dispose
- 41:08of them. Oh god, I know disposes and air bunny quotes. Be
- 41:14it jet Air is the first privately owned airline established in Vietnam. I lost
- 41:21my place. This is just I'm trying to think. I've I've flown through
- 41:25a frequently through a what would be a a third world country, you know,
- 41:34and I'm thinking about the airport security there. I don't think you could
- 41:38have got that through them. They changed they Okay, they're a little they're
- 41:42a little thing that they would put the the metal detector or the detector for
- 41:46the luggage didn't actually work. They just had it there and they had like
- 41:52three guys that would sit there with the screen you could see on the other
- 41:54side. The screen wasn't actually doing anything. So that's how they got They
- 42:00weren't paid there, so that there was nothing going there, but they would
- 42:02always search your bag because they wanted to take out anything of value when you
- 42:07went through there, so that your bags were still always searched. I mean
- 42:10that the metal detector or the detector thing where you go through at the airport
- 42:15and it's like scanning for liquids and like actual things that might you know,
- 42:19they don't want you to take on a plane, like you lost that rabbit
- 42:22you were smuggling. What are you talking about the rabbit, Stuart, Nobody,
- 42:28stop being disgusting And no, I wasn't smuggling a rabbit. He's referring
- 42:34to the toy. No. Anyways, So you would put your bags for
- 42:39the thing. There was three guys sitting there that was not scanning anything.
- 42:44It was quite obvious there was nothing happening with the machine. It did convey
- 42:47or beld it through. That was it. But they always took you to
- 42:51a separate one and they search your bags, and so you kind of would
- 42:54put like candy and stuff on top, and they'd take the candy and then
- 42:58they'd let you go as long as they got their bribe. Yeah, you
- 43:01can't have anything like if anything of value or money or anything. They would
- 43:05take it, confiscated it. Yes, and then anyway, so, uh,
- 43:13you might be able to if you knew that, y'all. Bet she
- 43:15knew someone at airport security. That's the only way you could do it.
- 43:19She had. It was an inside job. Probably someone was the fake conveyor
- 43:23belt scammer. And then the person who searches the bag was like she slipt
- 43:28them behindo or something. He you know, they just sent him through because
- 43:30there were people that they would skip occasionally. But I think it was like
- 43:34a friend or something. So yeah, so I could see how that could
- 43:38happen. But anyways, all right, well this episode, well anybody that
- 43:45disrupts of for like y'all need jesus. Yeah, they got to have a
- 43:49special airlock where once you get the person corraled, like if they're acting up
- 43:52on a flight, you can stick them in the air lock and they got
- 43:55like two minutes to put on a parachute and then you open them out or
- 43:58door and you drop them so that you don't have to happen, so that
- 44:00you don't have to divert your flight somewhere. Anyways, all right, so
- 44:06no, well there's a lot of things that happen on a plane that I
- 44:08would like to put someone in that. So no, it would completely go
- 44:13out of control because it would be go from like actual something you do something
- 44:16wrong to like why are you taking your shoes off on a plane? Well,
- 44:20those people need to be jetti too. I'm okay if it's a long
- 44:22flight and then you put the nice socks on over like you take your shoes
- 44:27off, but you put clean socks on, but you're going barefoot on the
- 44:30plane, like taking your shoes off, that's a no. Well, especially
- 44:32the people that decide that they're going to give themselves a pedicure on the plane.
- 44:37They're going to get the little file and rub on their feet or clip
- 44:39their nails while they're sitting there with the Well, I sat next to a
- 44:42guy that masturbated next to me, so I felt like that was the most
- 44:45egregious thing I've sat next That's a I think I've already told that story,
- 44:50haven't I Probably that's a story for another day if you haven't heard it or
- 44:52if I've said it before, But it did happen, so anyways, all
- 44:55right, Well, check us out on Instagram, Facebook, check out our
