- 0:50Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 1:01slow, long, relaxing breath, and as you exhale, feel that sense
- 1:11of release, as if tension is just melting away and leaving
- 1:18your body in that outward breath.
- 1:26Breathing in, relaxation and exhaling tension.
- 1:34Almost like every breath takes you slightly deeper than the
- 1:41breath before. And do a quick scan of your body
- 1:53just to see if there's any clues of perhaps a position that
- 1:59doesn't feel quite right or tension, maybe in your neck or
- 2:05your shoulders. And position your body in a way
- 2:16where you're able to relax deeper and deeper.
- 2:24And as you do notice, your breathing gets easier and
- 2:31easier, almost like you're breathing without trying.
- 2:39No need to force a breath in or out.
- 2:45And notice how your breath seems to get lower down, deep down
- 2:55into your diaphragm. Breathing in relaxation,
- 3:03exhaling tension. Perhaps you could imagine
- 3:12somewhere in your body the image of a coiled spring and as you
- 3:19breathe in and breathe out, just allow that pent up tension to be
- 3:26released to allow your body to relax and unwind.
- 3:36With each breath, allow yourself to release any tension in your
- 3:41body. Allow your shoulders to drop,
- 3:46your jaw to loosen, and your eyelids to get heavier and
- 3:53heavier. And as you focus on my voice, I
- 4:02wonder if you could imagine a droplet of pure relaxation
- 4:10falling on the top of your head. And then allow a wave of ripples
- 4:19to start at the top of your head, all the way down your
- 4:21body, bringing with it a wonderful feeling contained in
- 4:30those ripples of relaxation. Each word, each breath draws you
- 4:43deeper into relaxation. And right now, there's nowhere
- 4:50to be, nothing to do except allow yourself to fully relax
- 4:59and drift inward. Some people think that being in
- 5:07a trance is like something they've seen on TV or a stage,
- 5:14but it's more like that feeling you can get when you're driving
- 5:20on a long journey and you realise you've been driving for
- 5:25miles while daydreaming. It's almost like your
- 5:31unconscious is driving the car for you.
- 5:36And I wonder if you can recall a journey on a motorway, perhaps
- 5:43one that you've done many times before, A journey where your
- 5:49unconscious was able to drive without you needing to think
- 5:55about changing lanes, switching gears.
- 6:01Your brain, your body just knows how to drive that car.
- 6:09And as you think about that journey, what if this motorway
- 6:14represents a journey to a more confident year, sky high self
- 6:24esteem, a future, a destination where your current self and your
- 6:33ideal self are one and the same? This is your journey and notice
- 6:43as you imagine you being behind the wheel, the journey has
- 6:48already started. You're not leaving your home to
- 6:52start the journey. The journey is already in motion
- 7:01because this is a journey of momentum, progress, and every
- 7:10healthy choice continues that journey, moving in the same
- 7:18direction. And as you imagine the motorway
- 7:26ahead, maybe you could imagine three lanes, a slower lane, a
- 7:34middle lane, and a fast lane. And each lane represents
- 7:42progress. No matter which lane you happen
- 7:48to be in, you're still moving towards your destination.
- 7:58On some days, you'll make incredible choices, almost like
- 8:05you're an Olympian training for a major event.
- 8:10And on those days, you're in the fast lane and some days
- 8:20generally you're making good healthy choices, but maybe your
- 8:25portions are larger or maybe there's the occasional
- 8:31indulgence still progress, just slower progress on that
- 8:38particular day. I want you to imagine you're in
- 8:49the slow lane now, moving steadily and surely.
- 8:56Imagine what it would be for you, where you're making good
- 9:00choices, eating wholesome foods, nourishing your body, and
- 9:06feeling a sense of pride knowing that you're taking care of
- 9:10yourself. Notice you don't have to be
- 9:14perfect. And maybe on that day you don't
- 9:18go to the gym. Maybe on that day there's less
- 9:24salads and vegetables. But get a sense that you're not
- 9:28failing, you're still making progress.
- 9:34And if you can make progress even on these slower days,
- 9:43imagine what you can do when you make even healthier choices.
- 9:50Perhaps you can imagine seeing signs that show you making
- 9:55progress on this journey. Landmarks or signposts.
- 10:04Every key milestone that you pass is a symbol of your
- 10:09consistency, your commitment, and your belief that small steps
- 10:16create big changes. Breathe in and breathe out.
- 10:22Feel even deeper, relaxed now in this slower lane.
- 10:30You feel calm, steady, and reliable.
- 10:35You know you're on the right path.
- 10:37And every bite of fresh, vibrant food, Every glass of water,
- 10:43every moment you prioritize your health adds to your progress.
- 10:51But imagine indicating and moving into that middle lane if
- 10:58the slow lane was maybe a six or a 7 out of 10.
- 11:02In terms of choices, the middle lane is A7 or an 8.
- 11:11Higher level of momentum and a higher standard of those healthy
- 11:17choices and feel The healthy choices in this lane feels
- 11:26comfortable. You could live like this forever
- 11:31because you enjoy the food. You enjoy how it makes you feel,
- 11:36you enjoy how it tastes. You can take pride in the
- 11:40healthy choices, you can look forward to delicious meals.
- 11:49And maybe you're enjoying or experimenting with new recipes,
- 11:54trying a new exercise Class, A new flavour of fresh juices that
- 12:03makes you feel vibrant and alive.
- 12:09Notice how much colours there are in your foods.
- 12:14Each colour of natural food is a symbol of the nutrients that
- 12:20that food contains. Feel that you can cruise in this
- 12:31lane? You're still in control, and
- 12:38progress here feels even more rewarding.
- 12:47But I want you to get a sense then you could stay in this lane
- 12:52like you're an autopilot day after day, continuing to make
- 12:58progress. Doesn't matter what the scales
- 13:03show you, because you know you're going in the right
- 13:10direction. Each day of healthy eating
- 13:19builds on the last like a chain, growing stronger and longer with
- 13:25each link. You can build long streaks in
- 13:30this lane, days, weeks, maybe even months.
- 13:36Consistent healthy progress. And then imagine you feel the
- 13:45burst of energy and motivation and imagine indicating now into
- 13:52that fast lane. This lane is for those moments
- 13:58when you set even higher standards, making the best
- 14:03possible choices available to you.
- 14:08Almost no processed food whatsoever.
- 14:13Highest quality food, lots of physical activity.
- 14:22This feels like you're raising the bar, but it isn't necessary.
- 14:33It's optional. You don't need to be in this
- 14:37lane to get where you want to get to, it just means you might
- 14:42get there a bit quicker. Feel the exhilaration of this
- 14:52lane, a real sense of empowerment and pride.
- 14:58You're moving quickly here, but not out of pressure.
- 15:03It's only because you're enjoying the journey and you're
- 15:08not expecting to be in this lane forever.
- 15:14One or two days, maybe a week, and back to that middle lane.
- 15:21It's a bonus, not a necessity. And if you feel the need to slow
- 15:29down, you can always move back to that middle or slow lane,
- 15:35because each lane represents progress, and all progress helps
- 15:42get you towards that future that you desire.
- 15:52And on very long journeys, it's a good idea every now and then
- 15:59to take a break. And maybe you can imagine a
- 16:06service station coming up ahead, a reminder that breaks a part of
- 16:14the journey. And when you pull into a service
- 16:19station, it's not a set back, it's a pause to recharge, a pit
- 16:27stop. And maybe it's a weekend where
- 16:32you have more of that flexibility, or a holiday where
- 16:39enjoyment takes priority over those healthy choices
- 16:44temporarily. But you get a sense that these
- 16:49moments don't erase your progress.
- 16:53What if they are a necessary pit stop for the next stretch of
- 16:58your journey? So imagine taking a break in
- 17:08that service station and imagine what that could be in your life.
- 17:15An evening out with friends. A celebration, just a day where
- 17:30no rules apply because too much control is out of control.
- 17:43If you are actually driving to a destination.
- 17:48Having a break at a service station doesn't mean you don't
- 17:51get to your destination. That could only happen if you
- 17:56decide to drive the other way. If you go to the service station
- 18:02and continue on your journey, all it does is delay.
- 18:11Delay the destination, but it does not remove the destination.
- 18:23And then imagine leaving that service station feeling rested
- 18:28and refuelled. Feel how it invigorates you,
- 18:36giving you energy for the next few days, weeks or even months
- 18:40of consistent, healthy choices. And then feel that you're
- 18:47merging back onto the motorway, feeling stronger and even more
- 18:53determined than before. And as you continue your
- 19:01journey, you realise that success is not measured by the
- 19:07number on a scale. Success is the accumulation of
- 19:13healthy choices over time. The meals you've prepared with
- 19:19care, the times you've chosen to drink fresh water or a healthy
- 19:28juice, the moments you've moved your body in ways that feel
- 19:34good. Weight loss is simply a side
- 19:39effect of these choices, a natural outcome that happens
- 19:46when you focus on the process, feel things are already
- 19:54changing, new ways of thinking about things.
- 20:03I want you to get a sense that even if there was two or three
- 20:08or 4 miles on a motorway without a signpost to let you know how
- 20:12far you've come, that doesn't mean you haven't made any
- 20:17progress because it didn't show you on a sign.
- 20:22And on your weight loss journey, there will be plateaus.
- 20:28Periods of time where it feels like are you even making
- 20:32progress at all. And during these times you will
- 20:38unleash a new level of patience and consistency.
- 20:48A deep conviction that when you do the right things, you get the
- 20:53right results. Process over outcome.
- 20:59You reap what you sow Feel that sense of pride as you reflect on
- 21:07this mindset. You're no longer chasing an
- 21:11outcome. You're building a lifestyle.
- 21:17With each passing mile. You're creating habits that
- 21:22support your health, your energy, your vitality and your
- 21:28happiness. And maybe you have an idea of
- 21:35what the destination looks like. A body shape, a body weight, a
- 21:44way of being. But it isn't the case that when
- 21:49you get to this destination, you go back to old habits.
- 21:59One of the most powerful beliefs possible is that the journey
- 22:04prepares you for the destination.
- 22:08All of those habits and choices that got you to the destination
- 22:14is what will keep you in that healthy, confident body.
- 22:22Many people, they're constantly yo yoing.
- 22:27They lose weight, they gain weight.
- 22:32But because you're building healthy habits and choices, when
- 22:38you get to that destination, don't be surprised if you
- 22:42continue to desire healthy, nutritious food simply because
- 22:50you found out you enjoy it so much.
- 22:55And that prevents the snakes and ladders of making progress and
- 23:02feeling like you've gone all the way back to square 1.
- 23:10And if you've got a sense of that future destination, imagine
- 23:15seeing yourself months from now, maybe even years from now,
- 23:22knowing that you didn't just get to that destination, you
- 23:24maintained it. Maybe imagine yourself on a
- 23:31holiday or an event in the future, knowing you got to the
- 23:39destination and then maintained it.
- 23:44And as you hold that thought in your mind, and you feel the
- 23:49momentum you've built continue to carry you forward even as you
- 23:54relax even more deeply, I want you to get a sense that when you
- 24:02get to that ideal weight, will it matter if you were in the
- 24:09fast lane, the middle lane, or the slow lane more often?
- 24:12Or will you just have an overwhelming sense of pride that
- 24:19you got to where you wanted to get to?
- 24:25I want you to get a sense the more healthy choices you make,
- 24:35the more you gravitate towards that destination.
- 24:42Feel even deeper relaxed knowing that your body is being
- 24:50nourished and replenished by your healthy choices.
- 24:55Your mind will help you with inspiration, epiphanies and
- 25:03ideas that help you on this journey.
- 25:11And very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00.
- 25:16And if you're listening to this at a time when you're
- 25:20comfortable, perhaps in a bed wishing to drift off into a deep
- 25:27rejuvenating sleep, then as I count from 1:00 to 10:00, this
- 25:33will just enhance this feeling of wonderful relaxation,
- 25:39enabling you to drift off into an even deeper sleep awakening,
- 25:46feeling rejuvenated and refreshed when it's the right
- 25:50time for you to become awakened. But if you're listening to this
- 25:57at a time when you don't wish to sleep, when you hear the number
- 26:0310, you will be fully and completely wide awake back in
- 26:11the present, fully alert, starting to count 123456789 and
- 26:2810.
