- 0:10Speaker 1: Well, hey, welcome back.
- 0:24Speaker 1: It is just another football Monday.
- 0:27Speaker 2: It's not just another football Monday.
- 0:29Speaker 1: It's a championship reaction football Monday.
- 0:32Speaker 2: That's right.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and there's only one left.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's decided on the field.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Right, that's right.
- 0:41Speaker 2: We won't go back there today.
- 0:43Speaker 2: No, just keep it NFL focused.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Right, it's going to be the chiefs and the Niners.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Boy.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I tell you, man, six quarters into yesterday I was looking like a genius.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah, and then yeah, yeah.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Second half happened.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Right, we'll start a game one.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 2: OK, and.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Baltimore.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Hmm, yeah, the Marjaxon, I think you had your chances, man, that's going to be a game without question, without question.
- 1:19Speaker 1: You had the blue, the plays that They've all made.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Right, well, pat Mahomes is Pat Mahomes.
- 1:29Speaker 1: But some of the play yeah, he is, he is, he's incredible.
- 1:32Speaker 2: He's a Hall of Famer.
- 1:32Speaker 2: He's going to go down, as you know, arguably as good as there was to play Mm.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Hmm, you know, but this was you know.
- 1:41Speaker 2: The Ravens are loaded.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah, Weapons everywhere.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Defense defense kept Pat Mahomes to 17 points.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:50Speaker 2: After those first initial drives right where the chiefs did anything.
- 1:54Speaker 1: They wanted to look like and then after that they didn't really get anything, and the Ravens.
- 1:59Speaker 2: The Ravens needed to put the ball up, Something yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 1: That that play man by Snead he made on flowers.
- 2:07Speaker 2: How huge is that difference you?
- 2:09Speaker 1: didn't need.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I mean, you had it, for you could have actually got a first down.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You Right, you just got to secure the ball.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's, it's.
- 2:17Speaker 1: He was going, he was being aggressive.
- 2:19Speaker 2: That's why the games are played.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, things like that can happen.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Right Amazing plays at the goal line.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Yeah it really that that was the difference.
- 2:27Speaker 1: If they score there, that's 17 to 14 ballgame, it's it changes everything and it's still the third quarter that that really was.
- 2:39Speaker 2: I think that it.
- 2:40Speaker 2: I mean I'm not trying to discredit Kansas City's defense.
- 2:44Speaker 2: You know they have the best defense of Lyman.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Chris Jones yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 2: And you know it's great.
- 2:49Speaker 2: He didn't even register a tackle yesterday and he still.
- 2:53Speaker 2: His impact was you know, it was undeniable.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yep.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So even when he's statistically he's not in there dominating Like he's still altering the game.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Yeah Well, you know what are you going to say?
- 3:09Speaker 1: What Lamar Jackson had throws, you know, sometimes I think he's looking to make the the home run play, sometimes when he just needs to make the quick dump off.
- 3:20Speaker 1: That's my take.
- 3:23Speaker 2: My takeaway is that he he still struggles to.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Make those fundamental from getting frustrated with just checking down and and punting and not, you know, sometimes you're not gonna, you don't need to spin and do a 360 and try to chuck it deep Sometimes.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Just check it down, knowing you're not gonna get the first.
- 3:42Speaker 2: But I just, I mean, I don't know, man, what Justin was saying about week in, week out.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Not trusting Lamar fully, like this is.
- 3:52Speaker 1: This is why why yeah and it's not you know, come down to a game where you need it and everyone's the pressure's on, they're gonna.
- 4:00Speaker 1: It's gonna be on him to throw, make throws.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yeah, make throws or make plays with your legs.
- 4:06Speaker 1: what you've done a decision, yeah and he and he and he didn't do that and Spags, defensive coordinator for Kansas.
- 4:13Speaker 2: City and like he put together a master plan.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I Thought he schooled Todd Monk in pretty good yesterday, yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but this is the same old Lamar in the playoffs.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I think last week was the anomaly.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Right and it, and really you know, like the team the Ravens have been just beating up on everybody.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Right, you go back to when they they trashed San Francisco, you know, on the road and just dominated them like they've looked like a machine and Then it just stalled out.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Man, Both defenses were really good.
- 4:50Speaker 1: 1710, you know the Holmes.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah what he doesn't do, the mistakes he doesn't make.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Right doing, just enough.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yep, just enough.
- 5:00Speaker 1: You know, I only have those third down scrambling around, I mean you keep them at at six yards of completion.
- 5:06Speaker 2: You know, under 300, under 250 at first, throw that first touchdown he had to Kelsey.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I mean, come on, what do you do that?
- 5:12Speaker 1: You defended that perfectly, if you're Hamilton right.
- 5:16Speaker 2: The only thing you, the only hope you have, is that he can drop it, but it's not because it was perfectly thrown right there, I'm Kelsey.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Yeah, those, and then he's, he passed Right, yeah we, and it needs to be pointed out that you could have the greatest QB and the greatest tight end.
- 5:36Speaker 1: That's incredible what he's done, and so far they're early in his career.
- 5:40Speaker 2: They form arguably the greatest.
- 5:44Speaker 1: It feels like he feels like he's like been around forever.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and he's still.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Early in his career.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Yeah, early, but he's a guy that's accomplished a lot right.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So you you can already see his exit strategy once football is over.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Like you know, I don't know if he's gonna just Play another 10 years, but he's already.
- 6:04Speaker 2: You're talking about two first ballot hall famers.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Yeah, there's nobody in football that does it better, especially in the playoffs.
- 6:12Speaker 2: So you know it's an upset, I guess.
- 6:16Speaker 1: But that they have a good team, they have a good organization, they have well defense had been together.
- 6:23Speaker 1: The head coach has been there, but my home takes it to that level and he read was good with McNally.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Alex.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Smith, but he never Won anything until he had my homes.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And and but still, like Andy reads.
- 6:39Speaker 1: A great coach.
- 6:40Speaker 1: He is a great, perfect, perfect to like.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Have with someone like my homes because you can go to like another.
- 6:47Speaker 1: The wrong combination to I've seen talented players.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, like pan out every year in the NFL.
- 6:55Speaker 2: So yeah, it was a match made in heaven, you can you can look over to where milk steak just took the job and see about Just the QB's that just if you don't have the right coach right, it's not gonna work right Impressive game From from Kansas City to come out there.
- 7:14Speaker 1: They looked really good at at the start of it but you know the defense took over and In the end of the day we said it would come down to the quarterbacks yeah, and, and my homes did just enough right and avoided making crucial mistakes, and then you had.
- 7:35Speaker 2: You had a lot of quick bad.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I mean, they just do the short stuff.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Right, and that's Travis Kelsey and he has it if he yeah, 30th, I mean 30 completions for 240 yards.
- 7:45Speaker 1: So I.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Mean 30, 39, 241 and no, no picks kept the sticks moving and they kept they ran it with, but check over 24 times right, and if you limit that, the amount of times that Lamar Jackson has the ball and the amount of time he has to work with and you know, the pressure just gets.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no secret, but they have the the compliments to Kelsey that they need and rice.
- 8:10Speaker 1: That was a great pick, pick up and scale.
- 8:13Speaker 1: Scantily's been playing better.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah, they've been playing better and catching the ball.
- 8:17Speaker 2: That's another thing, Um they catch the ball.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You're not beating this right rice Looks really good.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Yeah, he's got that explosion.
- 8:23Speaker 1: He had that screen pass.
- 8:25Speaker 1: They didn't throw the holding.
- 8:26Speaker 1: That would have been a touchdown.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I was a perfectly called played right there.
- 8:30Speaker 1: It's just, that's it.
- 8:31Speaker 1: That's the combo.
- 8:32Speaker 1: You get a guy like Pat Mahomes with a coach like Andy Reed who's always innovative yeah, he's always changing, he's always looking for the next offensive scheme.
- 8:42Speaker 1: So now you have it with, like the most talented creative player kind of thing you ever so.
- 8:47Speaker 1: We must have looked at Pat Mahomes.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I mean he was like, oh my god, yeah, mahomes diagnosis what he sees on field very quickly to where they can go and make adjustments on the sideline pretty much on the fly, like that.
- 9:04Speaker 2: That's NFL man.
- 9:06Speaker 2: All the great quarterbacks have, you know, have that kind of smartest and stuff, and that that's something that is very difficult.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Great athlete to yeah, well, of course.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Good footwork you don't do the kind of stuff he does without having a rifle can elite athleticism, I Mean he may look a little awkward, you know, at times doing it, but it's Kelsey.
- 9:25Speaker 2: 11 catches 116 yards, and that's how we talked about unstoppable.
- 9:32Speaker 2: That really was unstoppable, that we talked before the game Perfect like a laser.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I write on the like writing an impossible place and it like timing throw a few of them catches wasn't just a hard catch a hard throw.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Perfectly defended that.
- 9:50Speaker 1: You that tip your cap to him.
- 9:52Speaker 1: That's why they're as good as they are.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Yep I mean, they're that good put it in a spot where only Kelsey can there's a reason why they're.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Kelsey goes up and gets it every time right, but they have Perfect compliment to them and the defense is as strong as it's ever been.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Yeah, because they don't have the Tyree kill.
- 10:13Speaker 1: And they went and and they really beefed up that defense.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Sneed is is Sneed is.
- 10:19Speaker 2: I agree with that.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I think he played the best corner this year, yeah and that I mean look at that play he made season in that was.
- 10:26Speaker 1: It doesn't get any better than that play.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean as a game changing play.
- 10:32Speaker 1: That's the kind of play you can't predict, you know.
- 10:36Speaker 2: That's, the players make Plays and big-time games give it back to him, and I was a battle like flowers when I was great yeah and he's got.
- 10:44Speaker 1: He's an awesome Player.
- 10:45Speaker 1: He's gonna be around.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I mean, he is a game changer.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he, he was.
- 10:49Speaker 1: He'll learn his lesson to not put that ball out there.
- 10:52Speaker 1: He just got to go his tuck it away because he probably he might have scored anyway and he would have had a first down.
- 10:59Speaker 1: So it wasn't needed, but he, he put that ball.
- 11:04Speaker 1: And to have the awareness that, to know that he's gonna do that, and just to you, watch a great play watch to do it.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Just there's their training and they're they're drilling in it and the offseason it takes over.
- 11:16Speaker 2: It's just like kind of instinctual.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Yeah, punch, it was a, it was a great play.
- 11:20Speaker 1: It was what heartbreaking play you know.
- 11:24Speaker 1: But like it was, it was a beautiful play in that, you know, the kid was trying to get in, yeah, and the guy made it, made him pay for putting that ball out there.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's.
- 11:35Speaker 2: It's the risk you take, you don't see it happen, that much they didn't challenge it?
- 11:39Speaker 1: It was I was yeah, right, it was pretty, you could see it and that was the game.
- 11:45Speaker 1: You could kind of feel it.
- 11:46Speaker 1: That was the only I mean, because if that happens that's a whole new ballgame.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Right, the way that Ravens defense was turning it up by then and they showed why they were the best team in the league all year.
- 12:00Speaker 1: But when it was time to make plays, they fumbled it.
- 12:06Speaker 1: They fumbled the ball and let it slip away and the Chiefs defense stepped up and the offense for the Chiefs got the lead and let that defense play.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yeah, they're great at playing with the lead.
- 12:17Speaker 1: They're great at playing with it, Because they can just hold it keep getting little first downs.
- 12:21Speaker 2: That's where Travis Kelsey comes in.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Exactly so clutch.
- 12:25Speaker 1: And his ability to scramble around like he does.
- 12:28Speaker 1: And we saw a little bit of that in the second game.
- 12:32Speaker 1: In the second half we did we did by old Mr Purdy, because in the beginning of that game we'll go to the NFC championship yeah, it was good for the Niners.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Oh, they're getting run out of the building.
- 12:45Speaker 1: The Lions looked in control.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Right, and that was the matchup.
- 12:49Speaker 2: That was the one matchup but they had a clear advantage in over San Francisco was their offensive line against that four man front Mm.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Hmm, you know there is no big space eating defensive tackle for San Francisco, it's, it's four pass rushers.
- 13:05Speaker 2: So you know that power run and all those counters and those double teams, like that was just eating them up.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I was, I mean, I gave up on it.
- 13:16Speaker 2: You know, I was still watching it.
- 13:17Speaker 2: I figured it was ballgame.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I did not think Steve Wilkes was going to be able to come with any kind of defensive game plan in the second half.
- 13:24Speaker 2: I was wrong about that fortunately.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Well, they had a.
- 13:28Speaker 1: They knocked it out.
- 13:29Speaker 1: It was 24 to seven.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I mean what do you do?
- 13:33Speaker 1: I mean 17 points.
- 13:35Speaker 2: and then you, you managed to Put up 27 on it.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I think what will go on something is that adjustment by the Wilkes and the defense.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Yeah, so you have to.
- 13:45Speaker 1: You have, when you have to have a comeback and ask to start by stopping them Right, so you can allow your offense to have the trick.
- 13:54Speaker 1: The funny luck plays.
- 13:56Speaker 2: But and going in, going into the second or coming into the second half, like I don't think anybody believed that San Francisco is going to be able to stop them, because it looked obvious how Detroit like dude just running the ball, made the adjustment.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know linebackers started, you know, started sending them in on on some blitz.
- 14:14Speaker 2: And Jerry, golf can't throw on the run.
- 14:16Speaker 1: No.
- 14:16Speaker 2: If you let him stand in the pocket, you know you let him do those play actions Just throw it down for you.
- 14:21Speaker 1: You have to hit him on the road.
- 14:22Speaker 2: You drop back in zone, he's going to kill you.
- 14:24Speaker 1: They figured it out.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And but the lions they had to play.
- 14:31Speaker 1: What was it?
- 14:32Speaker 1: The off the face mask?
- 14:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I mean, I mean dude every in the second, that was took every lucky bounce.
- 14:38Speaker 1: She went down there and started moving the ball.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Pretty started scrambling.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, the offense started, that is the different you had.
- 14:45Speaker 1: a quarterback could make plays on his feet against a quarterback that couldn't.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Now.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Perti started making plays on his feet to get the offense started, just to get it moving, to get it to get everybody off of McCaffrey's back.
- 14:58Speaker 1: And you know, like then it opened up, it opened up, you get, and then that hey, that was a lucky play, that was a lucky play.
- 15:05Speaker 1: But, they went and they came after that and they put it in the end zone.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Right Went right back to that guy Right.
- 15:11Speaker 2: And what would I?
- 15:11Speaker 2: I still maintain that you know, the flag got picked up because I caught the ball.
- 15:18Speaker 1: I saw that, yeah, they were going to go.
- 15:20Speaker 1: It doesn't matter.
- 15:21Speaker 2: But it was going to be, they would have.
- 15:23Speaker 2: If he drops the ball, they're going to call legal contact.
- 15:26Speaker 1: It's the adjustments made in the at halftime for the Niners were good.
- 15:30Speaker 1: This is kind of different to these last this playoff run.
- 15:33Speaker 1: They've been having to come back.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Yeah, something that he's never.
- 15:37Speaker 1: This is good for Shanna and really I mean he's always usually right, you know, for kind of blowing the lead blowing the lead, not knowing how to how to play with the lead without just these, these last few games.
- 15:49Speaker 1: They felt it out and made the adjustments.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And finished at the end.
- 15:54Speaker 2: It was.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I mean it's brutal, for if you're a Lions fan, I mean it's.
- 15:57Speaker 2: It's a brutal way to lose.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Well, here's where you go down, and I mean you go down the way.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I mean in his man Campbell's defense is he?
- 16:08Speaker 1: He was doing it all season.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:11Speaker 1: And I'm talking about 27-24.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Right, you know, the Lions have four down and three on the 30 yard line.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Yeah With, with six, seven minutes left, and that's where yeah, you would think that he'd be like what's the?
- 16:28Speaker 1: benefit of going for it.
- 16:30Speaker 1: There I mean, cause, even if you score, you're going to give them the ball, unless you were trying to like milk it down, maybe the clock there, but you're losing.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And if you don't get it it's over, because they can come back down and score and by then they had been moving the ball.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 16:45Speaker 1: You did know that.
- 16:47Speaker 2: The risk reward.
- 16:48Speaker 1: it seems there's way more risk that was the time to get into the possession game.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you can give your, even if we tied it now.
- 16:56Speaker 1: So even if our defense comes down and they go right down the field, we got a shot to come back Still in one possession.
- 17:03Speaker 1: And you can come back and get a touchdown and then go for two and be aggressive.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Right, right, You'll get your opportunity to happen.
- 17:09Speaker 1: This was too soon too soon to not give your guy a chance to tie the game and to put it all on golf.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And you saw what they did they made him move his feet.
- 17:18Speaker 1: He came right after and made him move his feet and he couldn't make the run.
- 17:22Speaker 1: They couldn't make the throw on the run, right, that was it.
- 17:26Speaker 2: I have as much of a and I get it was fourth and three.
- 17:29Speaker 2: You're not gonna run the ball in fourth and three, Although I think they probably would have had well, it was gonna end up hit the way he was calling it all year.
- 17:38Speaker 1: It was gonna end.
- 17:39Speaker 1: He was gonna live and die by it.
- 17:41Speaker 1: He died by it.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that was it I just, I don't think it's that big of a deal, I guess.
- 17:47Speaker 1: But, man, in terms of possession, though, like you, had to know that if they go down and score a touchdown now, it's over.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 17:57Speaker 1: If you keep this field goal right, you get it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: But even if you go score a touchdown, they can still come back and beat you.
- 18:03Speaker 1: So at least tie it.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right there.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right there.
- 18:09Speaker 2: No, it's 48 yards.
- 18:10Speaker 1: That's a masculine thing, that's a team thing, not a chip shot, but you expect it.
- 18:13Speaker 1: The locker room loves it.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's their identity.
- 18:16Speaker 2: That's just who they are.
- 18:17Speaker 1: That's not the same old lines.
- 18:19Speaker 1: This is the new look lines, aggressive lines.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Now what I will say.
- 18:23Speaker 2: When they got down on the goal line before they scored their last touchdown, they decided to run it on third down After they.
- 18:33Speaker 1: That was stupid because they had timeouts.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Yeah, they had all three timeouts.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Right, throw the ball.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I think Every play until you get it in, we're gonna have to kick an onside kick anyway.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Right, but then you still have a chance to get the ball back.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Right so yeah, so why did you run it there?
- 18:48Speaker 1: Yeah, to me it was.
- 18:49Speaker 1: It's a little bit of like.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Or if.
- 18:52Speaker 2: You got a little bit of the we're gonna go in there, we're gonna do it yeah we're gonna run it on third down, we're gonna get our field goal kicker and our field goal team ready to run out there if they don't get it, and we're gonna kick it as soon as possible and save those timeouts.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Well, yeah, but don't even do that.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Yeah, just throw the ball, Just throw the ball.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Those timeouts at that point in the game we're at a premium.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Yeah, after you had already went for it.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and made it to where now.
- 19:18Speaker 1: No, it was Dude, you're down there.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I'm okay with it, honestly, if they were tied in that situation and he went for it at that time of the game.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Yeah sure, even then, I think he probably kicks it.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Then Right To take the lead.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I don't know, I mean it, I would, but down three though.
- 19:35Speaker 2: They could have kicked it.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Down three, it's having.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Look what happens now.
- 19:40Speaker 1: If you give up a touchdown, it's over, right?
- 19:42Speaker 1: If you had enough time, or even if you gave up a touchdown, you'd give it right back to your offense with all the weapons.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Boom, we come out, we got this.
- 19:51Speaker 1: We go down right down the field.
- 19:52Speaker 1: All right, let's go for two and win this Dagon thing.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he.
- 19:57Speaker 1: That's when you really could have done it.
- 19:59Speaker 2: He probably just.
- 20:01Speaker 1: No one's gonna hate on that locker room.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I mean they no.
- 20:04Speaker 1: That's how they lived all year.
- 20:07Speaker 2: There were a lot of things on the field that they could have done that would have prevented that.
- 20:11Speaker 2: If they make a couple catches in that second half, who knows what happens.
- 20:16Speaker 2: That was part of how San Francisco got back in the game A couple of key drops on third downs.
- 20:23Speaker 2: You guys were wide open and they get the ball back.
- 20:27Speaker 1: They could have put the foot on the throat Right, and that's something that learned through pain.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Right Lions fans are just like Jesus man.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Here we go again.
- 20:37Speaker 2: It had to feel like it's happening.
- 20:39Speaker 2: The last time they played in the NFC championship game they missed the field goal to win the game San Francisco won by one point.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that gotta kind of feel like the same situation.
- 20:53Speaker 1: When the hell.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Was that Back when Eddie Murray was kicking for the Lions Early 80s?
- 21:02Speaker 1: Wow, man, yeah, incredible, Incredible.
- 21:06Speaker 1: So you got Niners, chiefs.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, bad ending for the Lions.
- 21:12Speaker 1: You feel bad for them, you do.
- 21:14Speaker 1: But I'm telling you, man, I really think they messed up at the end of that.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I think you gotta kick that field goal.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Right, I don't think like.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I feel like if you're in Detroit, you don't Need to feel like you blew it as much as the Ravens need to feel like you.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Know you lost to my homes and Kelsey is man you were at home.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Yeah, this was the first time.
- 21:35Speaker 1: It was your team, everything there.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody was healthy.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody back.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Well, yeah, this was a legacy game for Lamar.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Now it doesn't mean he's not a great player.
- 21:48Speaker 1: No, it doesn't mean he's not a two-time MVP.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Rightfully be the MVP.
- 21:52Speaker 1: He's a great player.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's gonna be something that they'll always have that to top.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Well, he never won it because at the end they came down to push to shove in the playoffs.
- 22:02Speaker 1: He was a, they were people, were able to beat him.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Well, they talk about guys like Jim Kelly.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they're damn arena.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yeah, guys that are that are right.
- 22:12Speaker 1: There's different Right, but there there was plays to be made that He'll, he's, he.
- 22:20Speaker 1: There's a reason why he's so good, because he probably Expects it out of himself and he's a perfectionist.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean he's done more than Anybody ever made.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Said he could, he could do right, right.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Jimbo wanted him to be like.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I don't think it was this bad.
- 22:36Speaker 1: There was man that like that Kansas City.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Their defense is really good, they're secondary and their past defense is the best in the league.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Okay, so like it's not easy to throw on them.
- 22:47Speaker 1: No no so you got it.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I mean there's some.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I think there's just some plays that he plays.
- 22:53Speaker 1: He could have made some easy passes.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Maybe ran it a little bit.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I think the running game in general from Baltimore is kind of what people are surprised, didn't?
- 23:00Speaker 2: That's where a bigger factor right, not not necessarily Lamar, but sometimes you gotta force-feed it.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, gus Edwards, Justice Hill, I mean, you took down and cook for a reason.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Well, you got ahead.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I think the initiate like Kansas City got up and it had a feeling like, oh my god, we got to keep up with them.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I'm just like Playing your game right and thinking that they weren't gonna just score 17 points.
- 23:24Speaker 2: But you got a trust in your defense and the fact that, all right, they've jumped out to a quick lead, but we can, you know you shut them down, but I think that they really man.
- 23:35Speaker 2: You talk about windows in the NFL and and how long teams are gonna be able to stay together with talent and they, they got Good young talent so they should be good again next season.
- 23:46Speaker 2: You know, one of the favorites in the AFC.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Baltimore yeah.
- 23:51Speaker 2: San Francisco not so much.
- 23:52Speaker 2: You know, I think the time is quickly running out on the 49ers, oh, stop it.
- 23:58Speaker 2: No, I mean, you know they got it.
- 23:59Speaker 2: You got Purdy and he'll be okay, but you got guys on defense that are coming up on on contracts.
- 24:06Speaker 2: They're getting up there in age.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Yeah Well, guys like Drake, greenlaw, fred, warner, those hits pile up.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Right, well, hey, man, let's first talk about the Super Bowl, your initial thoughts on it.
- 24:19Speaker 1: You're probably thinking that San Francisco has no shot.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I'm going to feel real bad if we jump out to a 10 point lead Like last time.
- 24:29Speaker 1: You know the way it's been going this way.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Offices.
- 24:31Speaker 2: No, I do feel like, like, I don't feel like anybody's going to get up.
- 24:34Speaker 2: I don't feel like anybody from the NFC had a shot.
- 24:36Speaker 2: No matter what happened, I think the winner of the Ravens Chiefs is going to win the Super Bowl regardless.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I think it's just it's going to be hard to beat Kansas City.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:47Speaker 1: They, they have the defense.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Well, with that, with that, with that combo and offense, unless my homes or Kelsey gets hurt, not 49ers don't have the secondary and they, yeah, they, unless, yeah, exactly, unless.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Who's going to?
- 25:00Speaker 1: They're going to figure it out eventually.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Right, it might get stopped a little bit If this was that defense will keep them in the game.
- 25:05Speaker 2: If this was a D'Amico Ryan's defense for San Francisco, I'd feel a lot better.
- 25:10Speaker 2: But yeah, they don't get pressure with that front four man.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Well who do you trust more?
- 25:16Speaker 1: I mean.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Brock Purdy or Matt Patman.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's coming out of QVs.
- 25:19Speaker 2: This is a no brainer.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I mean the Niners are going to.
- 25:22Speaker 1: It's going to take all kinds of Effort on the defense man Right.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Get the pressure on them If San Francisco can figure out a way to run for about two.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Baltimore did a good job.
- 25:35Speaker 1: You know Baltimore did good on defense against the raid against the Chiefs.
- 25:41Speaker 1: But you know, when they had to in the beginning of the game, it's yeah, it's unstoppable.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Right, the scripted place that we are going to come up with what we want to do, and Baltimore just kind of like, all right, we got no idea if we'll cover it as best as we can, but you can't cover a perfect pass and a perfect catch.
- 26:03Speaker 1: San Francisco has been just like wearing seems down so far in the postseason.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Just like, yeah, it alive until we can get a calf for the ball late in the game and he can finally wear, wear, break one.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Well, they needed two touchdowns again.
- 26:17Speaker 2: They need some lucky breaks last night.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Yeah, because they got it.
- 26:20Speaker 2: They got a dose of their own medicine and that Detroit offensive line is is nasty, but it's a ball set.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a rematch of 54 and 58.
- 26:34Speaker 2: I knew there was no way Taylor Swift was getting kept out of this Super Bowl man, All right.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Well, we got plenty of time to look forward to it and react to it, and we'll do that right here on the North Florida Sports Network.
