groups different. Cultures, different everything,

different personalities and a lot of us go through life

believing that there is something greater than us, a

higher power, right? Different people use different

names for it. So some of us know parts of a

holy book. We've heard those stories.

They were passed on to us. Some attend religious services,

some don't. But regardless, we all have

questions sometimes, right? Because somehow we can believe

in God and still feel like something isn't quite right,

like we're missing something. You know there's some kind of

verb, a gap, like a hole within us, right?

So let's talk about it. And I'm not asking you to simply

take my. Word for it I'm.

Just a lot of human over here, just like you, but we're going

to go. Straight to what Scripture shows

about why you don't have to live controlled by fear, Jesus

himself said. Therefore, I tell you, do not

worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your

body, what you will wear. Hold on a second.

At first, it all sounds nice. This, you know, sounds very

encouraging. Oh, don't worry.

But it also sounds almost impossible because, excuse me,

Jesus, what about the rent, the mortgage or those bills?

What about my health that's acting up?

What about war? What about losing my job or

someone I love? These things feel very real,

right? So how do you tell us?

there seems to be plenty to worry about.

But Jesus says, in short, look at the birds God feeds them,

look at the flowers, God dresses them elegantly, better than King

you, by worrying, add a single hour to your life?

What has worrying actually added to your life?

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will

worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of

those things for years. They stop sounding like

something you struggle with and start sounding more like who you

or with this, my sister, that spirit of fear was acquired.

So scripture says God did not give you a spirit of fear, but

of power, love and of sound mind.

So let's picture. Something else for one minute.

How adorable. She is.

The child is well fed, she has toys, her diaper is dry.

That baby is happy. OK.

Now. Imagine placing that child at

the edge of a Cliff overlooking the ocean.

The child doesn't understand the danger.

She will likely rush straight toward it because it looks

beautiful, though. It's shining down there.

And then you're going to tell me.

Well, of course that's because a child doesn't know exactly.

That's my point. Because it still shows you that

the baby doesn't have the spirit of fear attached to that

situation. You know, there is no danger for

that child. That child is fearless,

reckless. But then.

The child gets older. Life happens, she learns, maybe

the child sees her parents terrified of something and

starts thinking, oh I guess I should be afraid too.

I don't know how many times I've seen this.

A child falls and doesn't cry until the parents have some

jerky reaction. Oh my child, my baby, or it's

head, you know, so it's the same thing.

But if the child doesn't, the parent doesn't react and the

child is not really hurt that much, the child is not going to

cry anyhow. Little by little, fear gets

learned. Fear gets acquired until one day

something you acquired starts sounding like, bam, that's just

how it is now. But my sister, if you really

want to understand where fear came into this picture, we have

to go. Further back than childhood.

For the back, then our parents for the back.

Then our own experiences, we have to go back all the way to

the very beginning in the Garden of Eden.

So picture Adam and Eve. Everything is peaceful and

wonderful. Can you hear the little birds

chirping? They're walking freely with God.

No clothes, no shame, no anxiety.

No stress, no hiding. Nothing inside them is saying

something terrible is about to happen.

Alert alert. Nothing is telling them to run

or to hide. They're completely exposed

before God and completely unafraid.

Then the snake. The tempter enters the scene,

and he starts sweet talking Eve. He questions what God said.

He twists God's instructions. He plants doubt in her mind, and

Eve listens. She accepts his lies, reaches

for the forbidden fruit, and eats.

Then she turns to Adam. She offers it to him, and Adam

eats too, knowing very well that what he's doing goes against

God's instructions. And my sister, that was the

moment they said yes to the tempter.

They opened the door white for him and the.

Spirit of fear rushed in. Imagine the change.

One moment they're walking freely, all jolly, and suddenly

they're looking at themselves differently.

They're covering themselves. They're looking for somewhere to

hide. They hear God coming.

Instead of running toward him, they run away from him.

My sister, for the first time in human history, human beings are

hiding from God. And then God asks, where are

you? And Adam answers.

Well, I was afraid, so I hid. Do you see what happened before

the tempter? No Fear after they listened to

Adam and Eve had opened the door to the tempter and inherited his

spirit. In other words, they became

possessed by that spirit. Here Scripture says sin enter

them, and suddenly they were afraid.

And why did fear appear? Because they knew the

consequence. God had told them clearly.

If you eat from that tree, you will die.

Obviously we're not talking about a physical death here, but

a spiritual 1. So once they obeyed, they knew

exactly what they had done, and now death was part of the

picture. So with sin came the fear of

OK. And look at what they did.

They hid from God, right? But why?

Because they condemn themselves. They knew they had disobeyed

him. They knew they were wrong and

they knew what they had done. So they hid.

And my sister the tempter isn't called the accuser for nothing

because accusation says you messed.

Stay away from God. And when we listen to accusation

and condemnation, we believe it. We stay attached to the sin, we

even cling to it. And when we stay attached to

that condemnation, we stay attached to the fear of.

Death but but. Jesus came to change everything.

Hallelujah. And this is where it gets

interesting. Because God didn't leave us

powerless against fear. He gave you weapons.

And if you've been fighting fear the wrong way, you need to hear

these next three solutions. You're still with me.

Solution number one, stop fighting fear with the wrong

weapons. I already told you God didn't

give you a spirit of fear. That was not his plan for your

life. So now the question is, what did

he give you instead? So scripture says he gave you a

spirit of power, love and sound mind or self-discipline.

And when we fail to walk in what God has given us, we can fall

back into a spirit of fear. And here's where a lot of us

make the mistake. We try to fight a spiritual

battle with the wrong weapons, mental or physical solutions

alone. I'm not saying those are not

good. Sure, they're good weapons, but

but it's not enough because this battle goes way deeper.

Way deeper. Because it's spiritual.

The solution isn't lifting weights every day until you look

like you can fight the tempter yourself, or reading 12

psychology books, or building a personal security team of 6 foot

5 bodyguards. My sister, you need the right

weapons. Scripture says that our struggle

is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces, so

the victory has to be found spiritually too.

God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit are

distinct, but there are one God. So Scripture says that Jesus is

God's word who became human and came to live among us.

And after he died and came back to life, he told the disciples.

So he told us that he's going to be sending us the holy.

Spirit so that we would be equipped right.

So if you want to fight fear, you need to use a spiritual

weapons God has given you. And I'm telling you right now my

sister, you are going to lose this battle.

If you try to fight it without God's spiritual weapons, you're

going to lose. You cannot beat the tempter with

your own strength, your own intelligence, and your own

Distracted by the tempter's plans.

He doesn't move randomly. He's strategic.

But he's warning us in advance. We just have to have an open and

humble heart to hear his instructions.

So yes, this is a spiritual battle and it'll be very

dangerous to walk. Around acting like there isn't

one very, very dangerous. So scripture says put on the

full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the

tempter's schemes. And I have to add that the

tempter may even use people around you to get to you.

Now, that doesn't mean that we should be terrified of him,

feeding some distance away and the evil spirits start begging

The enemy may be powerful, but he isn't more powerful than

I pray when I wake up, before I eat, before I go to sleep.

But then we barely pray, or we rush through it just so we can

check pray off the list without really seeking God.

And James even warns that sometimes we ask and we don't

receive because we ask with the wrong motives.

So prayer isn't just something we mention, it's something we

actually do. Scripture says rejoice always

pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.

Not only when something explodes or when you need something.

But there is a but. Every person's faith journey is

We don't know everything another person has had to endure, and

Jesus never healed everybody using the exact same formula.

Right, Sometimes he touched someone and they were healed.
