- 0:30Speaker 1: Seems like there's been a whole lot of horror movie
- 0:33Speaker 1: episodes lately, guys.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Don't you feel like if you're not part of the
- 0:37Speaker 2: horror club, you're missing out?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yes.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Totally.
- 0:46Speaker 3: I'm really bad at improv.
- 0:48Speaker 2: This is the only time we really do it.
- 0:51Speaker 4: But I'm part of the horror club and I am
- 0:54Speaker 4: enjoying myself thoroughly.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Because there's tons of new material.
- 0:58Speaker 3: For $ 2 a month.
- 0:59Speaker 4: $ 2 gets you all this great stuff and more.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Before, you know, we'd bounce back and forth.
- 1:05Speaker 1: But we did some of those promos at the beginning
- 1:08Speaker 1: of the year. And I was like, okay, these are
- 1:10Speaker 1: our freebies. I'm telling you now. We're going to be
- 1:12Speaker 1: doing a lot more horror. So you better join the club.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And some people were probably slackers and didn't do it.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Now we're like three and four movies in a row.
- 1:20Speaker 1: The only thing we're putting out is horror. And I'm like, see,
- 1:22Speaker 1: I told you.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You didn't listen to me. But you could remedy that
- 1:25Speaker 2: real easy. Just go to MovieMeltdown.com. Click on that link
- 1:29Speaker 2: at the top right-hand side of the page. And join
- 1:32Speaker 2: the club. And you can get in on all this
- 1:34Speaker 2: horrific fun every episode.
- 1:38Speaker 4: And you can even help decide what movies we talk about.
- 1:41Speaker 2: That is a huge benefit. An extra bonus for everybody.
- 1:46Speaker 4: You can make us watch great movies that we'd never
- 1:49Speaker 4: see otherwise or terrible movies to torture us. It's up
- 1:52Speaker 4: to you.
- 1:53Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Just get on board with it. Join the club. Help
- 1:58Speaker 2: us watch movies. We don't know what we're going to
- 2:01Speaker 2: watch next. It's all up to you.
- 2:04Speaker 1: So then you join the club and you can hear
- 2:06Speaker 1: us say awesome things like this. Basically, the entire plot
- 2:11Speaker 1: is that in 1923, Cecil B. DeMille made the movie
- 2:16Speaker 1: The Ten Commandments, and he brought all these actual, like,
- 2:20Speaker 1: Egyptian artifacts and things with them. And he built these
- 2:23Speaker 1: sets that were supposed to be like designed after the
- 2:25Speaker 1: real thing. And then mysteriously, I don't know how much
- 2:29Speaker 1: of this really happened in the real world, but at
- 2:30Speaker 1: least within the context of the movie, they mysteriously just
- 2:33Speaker 1: bulldozed everything into the desert. Like it's just whatever, closing
- 2:37Speaker 1: up shop, we're out of here. And they just bulldozed
- 2:39Speaker 1: everything and nobody wanted to touch it ever since.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Because the further it goes along, the weirder it gets.
- 2:46Speaker 4: And the, Dumber everybody involved seems to be.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Rabid and like trying to get over the big gate
- 2:55Speaker 3: and then they do and there's like this huge melee
- 2:58Speaker 3: on the Sanex football field of parents just like beating
- 3:01Speaker 3: the shit out.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Of them and like stabbing their children.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Well, sure.
- 3:06Speaker 4: That's how everybody knows there's sonic radiation.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Beating lights and sonic radiation.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Which is sonic radiation even a thing?
- 3:11Speaker 1: I mean, if it is....
- 3:15Speaker 2: Oh, do you believe me now, George?
- 3:19Speaker 3: As you're getting murdered, just being right.
- 3:23Speaker 4: And, you know, really, if there are the ghosts of
- 3:25Speaker 4: any dead filmmakers listening, we'll talk.
- 3:28Speaker 1: To you, too.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah, most definitely. You know, this ain't your grandpa's zombie movie.
- 3:34Speaker 1: It's not Night of the Living Dead, because we've got
- 3:36Speaker 1: this crazy naked girl running across the street.
- 3:39Speaker 2: For no reason. Oh, yeah. What was that?
- 3:41Speaker 3: What was that?
- 3:42Speaker 4: Two minutes into the movie, we have boobs. All right.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I mean, yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 1: That's great. But I don't know that it fits into
- 3:49Speaker 1: the movie exactly. Except to say, hey, this is the 70s.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Crazy kids out on the street streaking or protesting or
- 3:56Speaker 1: whatever they're doing.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I assume your food is being made by zombies. Well.
- 4:02Speaker 2: This is not the first time I've pitched a zombie-themed restaurant,
- 4:06Speaker 2: by the way. I feel like it won't be the last.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Anyone who's been listening, you've probably heard it before.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Where did she get that heroin? I was like, who
- 4:15Speaker 3: in this cute little country?
- 4:18Speaker 2: I guess you can get it anywhere. That's the whole thing.
- 4:21Speaker 3: But I was just like, how did you get that?
- 4:24Speaker 4: I don't know what the quantity of a year's supply.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Of heroin is. Does it keep? Do you put it
- 4:31Speaker 2: in the freezer? I don't know. Stick it in the freezer.
- 4:33Speaker 4: I don't know. These are questions that I thankfully don't know.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I don't use enough heroin. Sorry, guys.
- 4:38Speaker 1: If you're out there cooking it right now, email in.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Let us know how it works. What's the shelf life
- 4:43Speaker 2: of heroin? I really don't know. Because our director is Spanish.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Our lead is Italian. Our lead Edna is Spanish.
- 4:53Speaker 1: The jerk inspector is American, obviously.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yeah. The one that's been a fascist the whole time,
- 5:01Speaker 2: of course, has to be the American.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yeah, he made the least sense. Any kind of Egyptian thing,
- 5:07Speaker 3: it's just like, yeah, you're cursed.
- 5:09Speaker 2: You're cursed. Sorry.
- 5:13Speaker 4: I have to wonder if there was a lot of
- 5:15Speaker 4: symbolism and commentary in this movie that was relevant to 1974,
- 5:19Speaker 4: but is lost on.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Was it supposed to be funny?
- 5:25Speaker 2: I don't know, but I thought it was funny.
- 5:27Speaker 4: Because there were a couple of scenes like that where
- 5:30Speaker 4: I'm like.
- 5:32Speaker 3: My favorite was the metal colander on a long stick
- 5:36Speaker 3: with other sticks poking out of it.
- 5:38Speaker 2: See, that was the thing. I'm watching that going, I
- 5:39Speaker 2: think I could make that.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Like the big tractor machine, not so much, but that
- 5:44Speaker 1: weird metal contraption of things you duct tape together.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I think I could make that. It was like a
- 5:48Speaker 2: high school production of Raising Zombies.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Whose idea was it when they were like, let's come
- 5:56Speaker 3: up with innovative ways for pest control, that rather than
- 6:00Speaker 3: doing something that kills them, they're like, we're going to
- 6:02Speaker 3: make them insane, and then they're going to kill each other.
- 6:06Speaker 2: I have an answer.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Hippie bugs with their long hair.
- 6:10Speaker 2: With your long antenna.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Screw you guys.
- 6:13Speaker 4: With your long hair and your leather jackets and your
- 6:15Speaker 4: Dan Fogelberg.
- 6:18Speaker 3: What about the homicidal baby?
- 6:22Speaker 2: That was something. I definitely wanted to get to that because.
- 6:25Speaker 3: I know I was really excited about that one because
- 6:29Speaker 3: those Chuck E. Cheese animatronics have always creeped me out.
- 6:31Speaker 3: They were creepy.
- 6:32Speaker 2: That's a great premise.
- 6:35Speaker 4: And George is just opening coffins like.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Like you do.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Is he in this one?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Nope.
- 6:40Speaker 4: That's somebody else.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Is he in this one?
- 6:42Speaker 4: Nope.
- 6:43Speaker 2: How about this one? That one's empty.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Let's be real.
- 6:46Speaker 2: This is why they don't let you in a crypt. Exactly.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Why bother adding the weird blood thing if it's not
- 6:54Speaker 1: really going to be explained as a tie-in or addressed
- 6:57Speaker 1: ever again?
- 6:58Speaker 4: But wasn't the blood that they were getting from someone
- 7:00Speaker 4: who was dead already?
- 7:03Speaker 2: The guy's like, we're going to have great apples this year.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I'm mad about apples. What would be the reason why
- 7:11Speaker 2: someone wouldn't show up in a photo? He's like, I
- 7:13Speaker 2: don't know, ghosts maybe.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I'm like.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Why would you question it? It's radiation. When has radiation
- 7:19Speaker 2: ever done anything bad?
- 7:22Speaker 4: But in this one, he's just like, oh, damn, there's
- 7:24Speaker 4: no keys.
- 7:25Speaker 3: He has to help walk.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Turns out I need keys to start a car.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Damn.
- 7:32Speaker 4: They're very organized for mindless creatures.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Because if you see the.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Ease at which they... They shimmy the tombstone out of
- 7:39Speaker 4: the ground. The two of them, they're working together, and
- 7:43Speaker 4: I like that.
- 7:43Speaker 1: And that's also a questionable thing. When he goes to
- 7:48Speaker 1: the bathroom to clean himself up, the cop that gets
- 7:51Speaker 1: outsmarted by a towel. I was just like, you're a
- 7:55Speaker 1: terrible cop. Because, I mean, it's a hand towel. It's
- 7:59Speaker 1: not like a net that he was trapped in. He
- 8:02Speaker 1: throws a hand towel at his face. And he has
- 8:05Speaker 1: time to turn around, climb through the window, go down.
- 8:08Speaker 1: And he's like, I'm like, how trapped in that cell
- 8:11Speaker 1: did you get? I remember that scene where he's getting
- 8:14Speaker 1: chased through the graveyard. And I'm just like, see, if
- 8:18Speaker 1: British police had guns, this movie would be over right now.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I mean, it's not really even about the money. I mean, yes,
- 8:26Speaker 2: we do need money coming in to pay for hosting
- 8:28Speaker 2: fees and to keep the site going and things like that.
- 8:31Speaker 2: But more than anything, we're really just trying to build
- 8:33Speaker 2: a community. A group of friends that like movies and
- 8:36Speaker 2: horror and want to sit around and talk about them.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I mean, that's what this club, hell, that's what this show.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Is built on.
- 8:43Speaker 2: And it's no fun to go through all the trouble
- 8:44Speaker 2: of putting this together and then nobody's out there. So
- 8:48Speaker 2: if you are out there, if you're listening to this
- 8:50Speaker 2: right now, go to MovieMeltdown.com and join the Horror Club.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Then you'll not only get to listen to every episode,
- 8:55Speaker 1: but you can help us choose what movies we're going
- 8:58Speaker 1: to watch in the future. So become a Melkiteer and
- 9:00Speaker 1: help keep this terror train rolling.
- 9:02Speaker 2: On this terror train, this terror train, this Pennsylvania terror train.
