- 0:00Leviticus chapter 10. Let's get it.
- 0:04We thank you, Father, for all the many blessings.
- 0:07We thank God for your holy Scripture.
- 0:09We thank you, God, for all of the things that you've already
- 0:13done for us. Lord, you are a good, good
- 0:16Father. You're slow to wrath, Father,
- 0:20slow to anger. God merciful to the utmost.
- 0:25Your loving kindness is unparalleled.
- 0:29We thank you Father, for being so patient with us.
- 0:34Lord, we are a stiff necked people.
- 0:39So God, I pray that you'll help us.
- 0:42Help us to love you more. Help us to be known by you.
- 0:45Help us to be your hands and feet.
- 0:47Help us, God, to know that you are real and that you're near
- 0:51and that you're for us and not against us, God, but in the
- 0:57middle. Help us to actually flesh out
- 1:00the things that you have asked us to do.
- 1:04We receive Holy Spirit, we receive salvation.
- 1:09We receive today you unto us. We abide in you, Father.
- 1:17We turn our eyes away from every lesser lover.
- 1:21We turn our eyes away from every idol.
- 1:24We turn towards you. We turn away from sin or we turn
- 1:30away from self, and we turn towards you.
- 1:33We laid down all of the false lies, the false self, all of the
- 1:38things, God, that are dragging us away from you.
- 1:41God, we break those chains in the mighty name of Jesus.
- 1:45We are generational chain Breakers.
- 1:49God. We rest in the finished work of
- 1:54the cross. We stand on the word of God.
- 2:02We thank you Father for giving us a reason to live.
- 2:10Come and get your glory Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I
- 2:14pray, Amen. Let's start in verse one.
- 2:19And they dab in about who the sons of Aaron took either of
- 2:24them his sensor and put fire in it and put incense there on it
- 2:29and offered strange fire before the Lord, which he commanded
- 2:35them. Not so.
- 2:38It is believed that Nadab and Abahu were probably drunk, and
- 2:44they took unauthorized fragrance unto God in the holiest of holy
- 2:54places. You could see how here how they
- 2:57took the censor, and they put fire in it, and they put the
- 3:00incense on it. And it is surmised that they
- 3:07were drunk and went into the holiest of holy places where
- 3:10they ought not go. It was only for the high priest.
- 3:14And here they wanted to worship God.
- 3:16However, they wanted to worship God whatever they thought, and
- 3:21God would have no part in it. And you see in the inception of
- 3:26these holy moments where the church is being birthed or the
- 3:31nation is giving, been given their priest and they're
- 3:35consecrated. You see, friends, when the ark's
- 3:39coming into the city, you see these holy moments, friends,
- 3:43where we have to be careful what we pray for.
- 3:47We pray for the fire to come. And it came upon Nadab and
- 3:52Abahu, upon Ananias and Sapphira.
- 3:55We see it coming into the city of David as they studied the
- 4:00ark. You see, friends, that it is a
- 4:03holy moment. And when God's holiness breaks
- 4:07out, friends, it could cost you your very life.
- 4:12You cannot just approach God however you want to approach
- 4:15God, Friends. He's not your buddy, pal.
- 4:18He's not your friend guy. You need to understand that we
- 4:23work out our salvation with fear and trembling, and that is how
- 4:29we know that we know that we know that we know that we belong
- 4:32to Him. There is reverence, friends, we
- 4:35do not need to be sacrilegious or irreverent with the holy God.
- 4:41Verse 2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured
- 4:45them, and they died before the Lord. 3 And Moses said unto
- 4:51Aaron, This is that the Lord spoke, saying, I will be
- 4:56sanctified in them that come near me, and before all the
- 5:00people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.
- 5:04So here Moses makes sure to comfort his brother ere on to
- 5:11say, Listen, they should not have went in however they wants
- 5:15to go in with whatever kind of worship that they wanted.
- 5:19God said that he will be set apart for all those who stand in
- 5:25the office of a priest. They'll be held to a higher
- 5:29degree, a higher standard. They will be held to a different
- 5:33judgment than the laymen. Don't forget that.
- 5:37For had Moses called Mishael and Elsfan, the sons of Ouzel, the
- 5:45uncle of Aaron, and said, and to them, come near, carry your
- 5:50brothers from before the sanctuary out of the camp.
- 5:54So this was Aaron's family, and he was sitting there astounded
- 6:00by what just happened. And Moses told him to hold his
- 6:05peace, and to not rail against the holy God, to not shake his
- 6:11first at God, and tell God that he made a mistake by taking out
- 6:15Nedab and Abahu. 5 And so they went near, and carried them and
- 6:21their coats out of the camp, as Moses had said.
- 6:24So you could see that they were dead, dead, and they got carried
- 6:28out of the camp. 6 And Moses said unto Aaron and unto
- 6:32Eleazar, And it Lamar his sons, uncover not your heads, neither
- 6:38rip your clothes, lest you die, and lest wrath come upon all the
- 6:42people. But let your brothers, the whole
- 6:45House of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord has
- 6:49kindled. So you can see here we pray for
- 6:52this holy fire, this refiners fire.
- 6:55And when it comes, we grieve because it licks up all of our
- 7:00impurities, all of our dross. It takes complete precedence
- 7:08against all of our desires and wants.
- 7:11The holiness of God does not cohabitate with the sinfulness
- 7:15of man. When Jesus Christ comes upon
- 7:19you, you are seen by God as innocent.
- 7:24There is no two ways about it. And this is a lifelong process
- 7:31of becoming more and more like Jesus Christ.
- 7:35And you're going to be the most like Jesus Christ right before
- 7:38you go into eternity. And you see that whenever the
- 7:46priest sins, it's carried over into the people. 7 And you shall
- 7:50not go out from the door of the Tabernacle of the congregation
- 7:54unless you die, for the anointing oil of the Lord is
- 7:58upon you. And they did according to the
- 8:00word of Moses. So you need to understand here
- 8:03that these men did not just get to go back and be regular men.
- 8:10This was the high priests of the nation Israel that God had
- 8:15created for himself out of one man, Abraham.
- 8:20And you can see here that they are held to a higher standard
- 8:24and he sang the anointing oil of God is upon you.
- 8:27Do not just throw down all of your garments and try to go back
- 8:33to life as usual. It does not work that way. 8 And
- 8:39the Lord spoke unto Aaron, saying, 9 Do not drink wine, nor
- 8:43strong drink you, nor your sons with you when you go into the
- 8:48Tabernacle of the congregation, lest you die, for it shall be a
- 8:52statute forever throughout your generations.
- 8:55So you need to know that they were told not to be drunk, and
- 8:59not to try to approach God in a haphazard way. 10 That you may
- 9:06put difference between holy and unholy, between clean and
- 9:10unclean. 11 That you may teach the children of Israel all the
- 9:14statutes which the Lord has spoken unto them by the hand of
- 9:19Moses. 12 And Moses spoke unto Aaron and Eliazar, and unto it
- 9:25Amar. The sons that were left.
- 9:27Take the meat offering that remain of the offerings of the
- 9:30Lord made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar,
- 9:35for it is most holy. So here Moses is telling them,
- 9:39Make sure you keep pace, don't just slack off because Nadab and
- 9:45Abahu are dead. We must keep this thing going.
- 9:4913 And you shall eat it in the holy place, because it, because
- 9:53it is your dew and your sons dew of the sacrifices of the Lord
- 9:58made by fire, for so I am commanded.
- 10:02So God had told Moses what to do.
- 10:04Moses had told Aaron what to do. 14 And the wave breast and the
- 10:09heave shoulder shall you eat in a clean place, you and your sons
- 10:14and your daughters with you, for they be your dew, and your sons
- 10:18do which are given out of the sacrifices of the peace
- 10:21offerings of the children of Israel.
- 10:24So here they were allowed to eat this sacrifice.
- 10:27This was their portion. 15 The heave shoulder and the wave
- 10:32breast shall they bring with the offerings made by fire of the
- 10:36fat, and to wave it for a wave offering before the Lord.
- 10:40And it shall be yours and your sons with you for a statute
- 10:43forever, as the Lord had commanded.
- 10:46Their taking this meat, and their waving it up and down, and
- 10:49left and right, and their marking themselves with the
- 10:53cross of Christ. 16 And Moses diligently sought the goat of
- 10:58the sin offering, and behold, it was burnt, and he was angry with
- 11:05Eliezar in it, Thamar, the sons of Aaron, which were left alive,
- 11:11saying, 17 Why have you not eaten the sin offering in the
- 11:17holy place, seeing it is most holy, and God has given it to
- 11:23bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement
- 11:28for them before the Lord. So notice here how Moses is
- 11:33scolding these two sons of Aaron, and he's saying, Why have
- 11:38you burnt up the meat that was for you to eat?
- 11:4318 Behold, the blood of it was not brought in within the holy
- 11:47place. You should indeed have eaten it
- 11:50in the holy place, as I commanded.
- 11:53So Moses is telling them that they were supposed to eat of
- 11:58this. 19 And Aaron said to Moses, Behold, this day have
- 12:04they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before
- 12:08the Lord? And such things have befallen
- 12:12me. And if I had eaten the sin
- 12:14offering today, should it have been accepted in the sight of
- 12:18the Lord? So what Aaron is saying?
- 12:22And he spoke up for his two sons that were left alive.
- 12:27And he says, listen, Brother Moses, I did not make a scene
- 12:36when my sons were killed with holy fire.
- 12:41But is it not enough for me to fast on this day seeing these
- 12:47things have happened to me? 20 And when Moses heard that, he
- 12:52was content. Look at that, friends.
- 12:55Can you even imagine this whole scene?
- 12:58Can you see the reality of it? This is not a story for us to go
- 13:02and try to study to get some kind of theological perspective.
- 13:05This is the reality, friends, of what actually happened.
- 13:10Friends, lock in, pay attention, do not offer strange fire unto a
- 13:18holy God. Approach Him in the way that He
- 13:21has told us to approach Him, and that is by the blood of Yeshua,
- 13:26for no one comes unto the Father except by the Son.
- 13:31We need to know that is by being covered in the blood of Jesus
- 13:35Christ. That is the only way that we can
- 13:37come into the holiest of holy places.
- 13:40He ripped the veil from top to bottom so that we can come in
- 13:43and we can know that we know that we know that we know that
- 13:46our prayers are heard and they are answered.
- 13:51Pray unto a holy God and watch Him move on your behalf.
- 13:54I hope you've been blessed by this amazing chapter in God's
- 13:57Word. I know I sure have.
- 13:59I'm praying for every single one of you.
- 14:01I love you. We'll see you back here
- 14:03tomorrow. God bless you.
