- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Before Merle gets off to work, he said he's heading that way.
- 0:02SPEAKER_01: I feel like he's the guy he's the guy that has all the stories.
- 0:06SPEAKER_01: Uh we were talking in the big three how the Supreme Court is now deciding whether or not you can distill now we're talking hard hooch in uh in in in your home.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: Moonshine in your bathtub, if you will.
- 0:19SPEAKER_02: Okay, maybe not that.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: Well, uh wine and beer has been acceptable for a long time.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're okay there.
- 0:25SPEAKER_02: If you're if you're doing your homemade beer, because you know they have those stores.
- 0:28SPEAKER_02: I I did this once a long time ago.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: What moonshine in the bathtub?
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: No, beer.
- 0:33SPEAKER_02: Oh in the bathtub?
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: It was yes.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: It was uh that's a little pumpkin y and uh nutty at the same time.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Anyway.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: So what's Merle's text?
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, he said my wife, he was laughing because he goes, My wife's family used to do moonshine back in the day in the bathtub.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: See?
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Her friend had uh made wine and uh and stuff like that too.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: No, I know.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: It's uh I don't know.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: I I look at it kind of like this.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: We've evolved to the point where people people do beer and wine at home.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: I I would imagine it I would prefer it that they sell the actual kits so you don't blow the roof off your house, you know, because that that's the thing that I'm afraid that would happen would, you know, you something would go horribly wrong and you would like blow your kitchen apart.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Here's why they want to do it.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: I don't even think that they care about like you blowing your kitchen apart.
- 1:27SPEAKER_02: They want a piece of the pie.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: So I have a friend that was he was stilling his own booze at one point in his house, but then also ended up opening a liquor uh distillery.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: Do you think the people who own the distillery up on Seneca and the one over on Cucka, do you think they didn't start in their in their living room?
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Oh sure, yeah.
- 1:49SPEAKER_02: Or their kitchen.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: And they got lucky enough not to blow the roof off of it.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: But they also uh New York State wants a cut of the money.
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, as every state does.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: Then I come over here to Doug.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: He had uh one more comment on your bad shrimp that you ate.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: He said, Why don't uh shrimp share?
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Because they're shellfish.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: That's a good one.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: He's warming up for when you're gone so that he can uh pop some of these in, you know, and uh and make sure that I'm staying on point.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: Yes, you guys, I will be gone starting tomorrow, but it doesn't mean you can't still catch up with us because we have our Not For Air podcast that's getting released today.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: This is the one that was live in front of a studio audience that we did over the weekend.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: So you can still go on the app and catch up.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: I I thought you were gonna say, even though I'm gonna be gone, it doesn't mean you can't listen to Scott, you know, while he's here alone.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, there was that.
- 2:38SPEAKER_02: That too.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: And also there's our socials.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's yeah, that's it.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: That's another piece of it.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: So but I'll be here.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: I'll I'll I'll hold it together also.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: So let me guess while I'm gone, you're gonna do all the social media, right, Scott?
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: I'll get some done for you.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: I almost put something up this morning, but then I'm like, no, I don't want to take away from the pictures you put up yesterday yet.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's fine.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: You know, but uh but I can promise you this that uh the show for the next three days will sound just like this.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to 100 what seven.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: Guys, the leaves are falling, and that's how the wind is blowing.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: What the back of the pumpkin, run your baby in there.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: If you'd have any ideas for what to do this weekend, there you go.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Baby and a popcorn.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: Baby and a baby in a popcorn.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: Wait, hold on.
- 3:37SPEAKER_02: I have oh shoot, I have another little piece of audio for you too.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: I'll find it in a second, and it has to do with with the fall time.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: But speaking of those those uh fall activities, Zach and I were driving the other day, and I said, Do you remember?
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: And this is where, yes, of course our phones are always listening, but I said, Do you remember when you were growing up and you had the the garbage bag that looked like a pumpkin and you would put the leaves in there?
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: This is where my grandmother was genius.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: So we lived right on the same street as my grandmother, just a couple houses down.
- 4:11SPEAKER_02: So she took care of us a lot.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: We at one point we lived with her anyway, because my parents are obviously, you know, second grade.
- 4:18SPEAKER_02: No, I'm kidding.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: Our house that one time that the uh the uh CPS came in.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: CPS came a document now.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: You're gonna go live with grandma.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: We we were we were building our house, so we lived with my grandma.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: But my grandma was pretty genius, and they need to bring this back.
- 4:33SPEAKER_02: They need to bring back the trash bag that looks like a pumpkin.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: I don't even know if they still have those or not.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: I haven't seen them.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: I don't know either because Mama all pain would say, now y'all come out here, because she's in West Virginia, so it's always a y'all.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: Y'all come out here and we're gonna we're gonna play in the leaves.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: So first, me and my brother, when we were living with her, just us, because my parents sucked.
- 4:53SPEAKER_02: No, I'm just kidding.
- 4:54SPEAKER_02: My parents are living there too.
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: But anyway, so me and my brother would go these were the poor days.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 5:01SPEAKER_02: Gotta be poor to get rich.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Anyway, so so we would go out and we'd rake the leaves and then we'd jump in them.
- 5:07SPEAKER_02: She'd be like, okay, now what we're gonna do is we're gonna take all those leaves and we're gonna put them in this pumpkin bag.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: And then she also had the spider bag.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: I remember that too.
- 5:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was black and it had the legs and everything.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: So we literally did all of her leaf, excuse me, raking.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: And we thought it was a game.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: And we thought it was the funnest thing ever.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, of course.
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: Then after a while, after a while, I'd be like, Ew, there's a worm on me.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: But yes.
- 5:31SPEAKER_02: A dog poo.
- 5:32SPEAKER_02: They should oh, probably she had a dog.
- 5:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:36SPEAKER_02: Ew.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: Ew.
- 5:39SPEAKER_01: The other day, Cooper was uh dropping a Cooper's the German shepherd that lives down the street.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, I thought you meant our coworker.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: That would have been really funny if it was her.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: No, but uh he was dropping a deuce right on the uh huge new pile of leaves that I had out there.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Cooper.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: I yelled down to him, I go, You do it like you own it, buddy.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: I was so proud of him.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: You lay it out.
- 5:59SPEAKER_02: Do they still have those?
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: And also that's a great question.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: That is a genius thing for parents or grandparents to do to get you to do the yard work because we're like, yeah, we're jumping in leaves.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: This is so much fun.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: No, we were just raking mom all's leaves for her.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: Pretty much that's what it was.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: All right, question Does anybody has anybody seen the old pumpkin bag?
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you can probably get it on Amazon, but I'm wondering, have you seen them?
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: Ollie's.
- 6:24SPEAKER_02: I bet you Ollie's has them.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: That's a really good place.
