- 0:48Speaker 1: be like seventy, I hope. So this is the this
- 0:50Speaker 1: is the time of the year where it's messed up.

- 0:59Speaker 1: You know it's gonna be Yeah, just backed a vacation
- 1:02Speaker 1: next days vacation.
- 1:04Speaker 7: Definitely.
- 1:05Speaker 2: You was just a l a.
- 1:07Speaker 1: That was that was working at I'm talking about vacations.
- 1:10Speaker 1: When you can go on the beach and do this
- 1:12Speaker 1: with your phone.
- 1:13Speaker 7: You can never do that.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I try, because you have to post that you're at
- 1:17Speaker 2: the beach. No, I don't never post. I post it
- 1:19Speaker 2: after I leave it.
- 1:21Speaker 1: If you ever seen me posts I already left, already
- 1:25Speaker 1: definitely same.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Let's get into these posts in the blog bag. Uh
- 1:29Speaker 4: is it Cardi B versus Bea? No, I hope not
- 1:33Speaker 4: hope not I hope not as I love Cardi B.
- 1:38Speaker 4: All right, So the drama seems to start after both
- 1:41Speaker 4: rappers sampled Missy Elliots nineteen ninety nineteen ninety nine song
- 1:45Speaker 4: She's a Cardi Broom Doom Doom Doom.
- 1:51Speaker 7: Cardi B dropped the like what freestyle and then be
- 1:54Speaker 7: A she had I that B.
- 1:58Speaker 4: And then at the end of Carti's video of the song,
- 2:04Speaker 4: she has a snippet that kind of sounds similar to
- 2:07Speaker 4: Bias fall back.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I would just say, and I let Jo Joe chime in. Uh,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I think that both songs are dope. I think both
- 2:14Speaker 1: are both artists are dope.
- 2:16Speaker 7: The Cardi B songing came out. You are you talking
- 2:18Speaker 7: about the snippet.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Or the the Yeah Missy Elliott Missy Elliott remake.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Those are both dope firebeat, fire Beat, fire Beat to
- 2:28Speaker 1: sample Missies the Goat to me? Uh, you talk about
- 2:32Speaker 1: everybody else miss Is to go I don't care nobody,
- 2:35Speaker 1: but I would say, uh I just like there are
- 2:37Speaker 1: different versions of it. I'm eager to see what Cardi's
- 2:41Speaker 1: snippet is going to become.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Needed, more data my turn, because what go ahead? How
- 2:49Speaker 6: could somebody be upset about something that wasn't yours to
- 2:51Speaker 6: begin with? Anyway, It's not neither one of these songs.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's Missy song. Yeah.
- 2:56Speaker 6: So like how you're gonna get mad that somebody used
- 2:58Speaker 6: the same sample that you use, but you use it
- 2:59Speaker 6: for somebody else.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Where's the beef?
- 3:02Speaker 2: So that's what they're mad about. Well, I don't think
- 3:04Speaker 2: it's mad.
- 3:05Speaker 6: I think it's a it's people trying to get them
- 3:10Speaker 6: to beef.
- 3:11Speaker 4: It's chattered somebody, somebody put it on Twitter x, but
- 3:15Speaker 4: be it is definitely on Cardi's moved board a lot.
- 3:18Speaker 4: And so Carti comes back and says, make a fool
- 3:21Speaker 4: out of themselves every single time, crying face emoji. I'm
- 3:25Speaker 4: gonna show y'all something when I released this song winky
- 3:28Speaker 4: face emoji.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Well, made the best song, win made the best song,
- 3:31Speaker 1: Win made the best song, Win and make you more
- 3:34Speaker 1: and more money and more riches.
- 3:35Speaker 3: I just don't see the drama.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I don't see it either.
- 3:38Speaker 6: I just think that that's cat yeah, like that's not Yeah,
- 3:43Speaker 6: it was a sample. And I don't even think that
- 3:45Speaker 6: they I don't even think that they really even had beef.
- 3:48Speaker 6: You know how people just be talking and I don't
- 3:50Speaker 6: even think that they responded to each other. They probably
- 3:52Speaker 6: responded to a fan that you said.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Something fans create beef.
- 3:57Speaker 3: No, That's what I'm saying. Like they probably was, like
- 4:00Speaker 3: you probably didn't even know that that had a song
- 4:01Speaker 3: like that.
- 4:02Speaker 6: She probably really honestly didn't even know because the cocoon
- 4:05Speaker 6: just like she you know about Coach and how she
- 4:07Speaker 6: had to go and buy her coach back.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Did you guys see that that first of the foremost
- 4:11Speaker 1: shut out the coach. Coach always had some dope shit
- 4:14Speaker 1: to me, they always have premium leather products.
- 4:16Speaker 7: What happened coach?
- 4:18Speaker 2: Cardi back has a line in the song damn Yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 2: she said.
- 4:22Speaker 3: I don't know exactly what she said.
- 4:23Speaker 6: You can look at but basically in a nutshell, she
- 4:25Speaker 6: sang like, why are you wearing coach? Like basically, people
- 4:28Speaker 6: don't really rock to coach.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It's a specific line, damn I got.
- 4:32Speaker 3: But she said it while you looking it up. But
- 4:34Speaker 3: she said it.
- 4:34Speaker 6: She said because there was a line in a New
- 4:37Speaker 6: York song by Cameron where he disc coach and she
- 4:40Speaker 6: said at that time she was wearing coach like heavy,
- 4:43Speaker 6: and he was like made a line that was like,
- 4:46Speaker 6: why are you wearing coach? Basically, So she said she
- 4:47Speaker 6: stopped wearing coach ever since then, and that was when
- 4:50Speaker 6: she was like in high school or something like that.
- 4:52Speaker 6: And so then she made like a similar line too,
- 4:54Speaker 6: and then the girls came.
- 4:55Speaker 3: From was like, what you mean coaches? Coaches fly like
- 4:58Speaker 3: coach got some nice stuff.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Also, coach is also her fan base. Well, oh like
- 5:04Speaker 1: a coach bad baby. This ain't what you want Boom.
- 5:07Speaker 1: That's what she said, and everybody's like that was what
- 5:09Speaker 1: was going on with coach. I just think I just
- 5:12Speaker 1: think a lot to get that coach hat. By the way,
- 5:14Speaker 1: I think a lot of artists don't understand that the
- 5:16Speaker 1: average person that you're that's consuming your music can't afford
- 5:20Speaker 1: what you can can't afford, you can't afford. And in
- 5:22Speaker 1: my opinion, I'm not even a designer person anyway, so
- 5:26Speaker 1: I don't even see why we even buy all this.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Is Coach considered a designer.
- 5:30Speaker 6: Back it is, it is, but it's more of an
- 5:33Speaker 6: affordable Yeah, but there are certain brands that people do
- 5:38Speaker 6: not wear no more, like and if you wear it,
- 5:39Speaker 6: they're gonna get onto you. Like for instance, like y'all
- 5:42Speaker 6: not out here wearing data.
- 5:44Speaker 3: What's that exactly?
- 5:46Speaker 2: Listen, don't don't get me started, because that's.
- 5:50Speaker 6: I'm not big, but she's not what I'm saying. Like
- 5:53Speaker 6: back then people was wearing that. It's just certain brands
- 5:55Speaker 6: that people just not wear no more. Then again, it's
- 5:57Speaker 6: also people that's trying to like flex like they can
- 6:00Speaker 6: afford these brands, and they can't afford shit.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I like Coach, Coaches fire. Do you talk about that
- 6:05Speaker 1: people be living above they means. I was just talking
- 6:08Speaker 1: to my homeboy on the phone, Bart and I was like, man,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I was like, man, I was in LA and somebody
- 6:13Speaker 1: was trying to get me to buy this Supreme jacket
- 6:15Speaker 1: that the jacket was flying.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I said, it's twenty three hundred dollars probably.
- 6:19Speaker 1: If twenty three hundred, man, I said, if you think
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'm about to spend this money on this jacket, you
- 6:26Speaker 1: got the wrong one.
- 6:27Speaker 6: But you know what, it's kind of hard for like
- 6:29Speaker 6: women those because you know, you could be like a
- 6:33Speaker 6: woman with a regular job like me.
- 6:35Speaker 3: I have a regular job.
- 6:36Speaker 6: Or whatever, but I received gifts beyond my paycheck, like
- 6:41Speaker 6: what I get, you know what I'm saying. So it
- 6:42Speaker 6: looks like I might be living beyond my knees, but
- 6:44Speaker 6: it ain't got nothing to do with me. You know
- 6:46Speaker 6: that I would appreciate if the person who's gifted me
- 6:49Speaker 6: would just give me the money. But if you're gonna
- 6:51Speaker 6: give me the gift, that's fine. You're giving me a
- 6:53Speaker 6: ten thy fifteen thousand dollars bag, Like I'm like, okay,
- 6:56Speaker 6: thank you, But applying pressure, I don't. Yeah, but see
- 6:59Speaker 6: that's not it, not even you know, that's not really
- 7:01Speaker 6: my thing. But if you're doing that, okay, cool. But
- 7:03Speaker 6: I'm just saying that to say, like sometimes you be
- 7:05Speaker 6: leaving living by beyond your knees and you don't even
- 7:09Speaker 6: you're not even the one that's buying and shit time
- 7:11Speaker 6: for coach man Hey.
- 7:12Speaker 7: Man by the way.
- 7:13Speaker 4: That song that like what freestyle video was directed by
- 7:16Speaker 4: Offset two.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Nice jot they gotta come on the show Offset.
- 7:23Speaker 7: But that beat it so hard.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Du I love any Missy remakes as a band.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I mean, people do it wrong though, a lot of
- 7:31Speaker 4: people don't do remix right.
- 7:33Speaker 3: You know, Cardy, It's time for Cardi to come back.
- 7:38Speaker 6: I don't I don't know if she gets her mental
- 7:39Speaker 6: right or she just been in the booth working hard
- 7:42Speaker 6: or whatever, but I'm ready for her to drop something
- 7:43Speaker 6: that was a good.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Why people are saying she's scared to drop music because
- 7:46Speaker 4: she admitted it.
- 7:47Speaker 2: She's afraid of being being judged.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Because you gotta understand, every time artists drop music, artists
- 7:54Speaker 1: are like us. They read their comments, They read everything
- 7:57Speaker 1: with people saying about them. So I think it kind
- 7:59Speaker 1: of makes them a little bit insecure, you know, to
- 8:02Speaker 1: release music, because you got to understand.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Her first album.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Was right, Yeah, so she has a lot on She
- 8:08Speaker 6: has a lot on this album, like writing on this album.
- 8:10Speaker 3: But that's the same thing Sweetie said.
- 8:12Speaker 6: Sweetie said that she ain't dropped no music because ain't
- 8:14Speaker 6: nobody worried about her music?
- 8:15Speaker 3: She was like, ain't nobody really concerned about my music.
- 8:17Speaker 2: So I'm not really trying to single.
- 8:19Speaker 3: I'm not really trying to drop nothing.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Sweety and Cardi is different.
- 8:23Speaker 7: I'm just saying, you'll wait't on the Sweety record.
- 8:27Speaker 6: I'm just saying that somebody else said the same thing.
- 8:31Speaker 3: She said that she she don't drop music.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Car is completely different, league, What do you mean different Car?
- 8:38Speaker 2: We know we know they didn't Cardi dropped.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You know, Sweety Sweety doesn't have as big of a
- 8:45Speaker 1: fan base as Cardi.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Cardi is different. That's what I'm saying. Entertain we can't
- 8:49Speaker 2: put them in the same conversation.
- 8:51Speaker 6: So you was, I was just saying that someone else,
- 8:53Speaker 6: another artist, said the same thing.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Obviously they're not the same type of artists.
- 8:57Speaker 1: But I just I just appreciate Sweety been. I mean,
- 9:00Speaker 1: that's just her being honest and being truthful. Like I
- 9:03Speaker 1: don't understand that, Yeah, Like I don't understand why everybody
- 9:06Speaker 1: isn't just truthful. It's like some actors, it's like, why
- 9:09Speaker 1: do you not coming out with a movie. Maybe somebody
- 9:12Speaker 1: don't want to watch watch them in another movie, you
- 9:14Speaker 1: know what I mean?
- 9:14Speaker 2: Like some people like the mystique, though some people like
- 9:17Speaker 2: like a jay Z.
- 9:17Speaker 1: You know he is he on Instagram? Is he not
- 9:19Speaker 1: on Instagram? Is that really him tweeting? Or is that somebody?
- 9:22Speaker 1: You know?
- 9:23Speaker 2: Some people like the mystique of the artists.
- 9:26Speaker 7: You got a big fan base though.
- 9:27Speaker 6: Sweety has a huge fan base and they may not
- 9:30Speaker 6: be a fan of her because of the music, but
- 9:32Speaker 6: all that stuff.
- 9:33Speaker 7: That she does.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah, so what what what's her What would be like
- 9:36Speaker 1: consider her fan base?
- 9:38Speaker 7: Would kids kids follow her?
- 9:41Speaker 2: Okay?
- 9:41Speaker 3: Like the demographic?
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like, like what's her? What's her demo?
- 9:44Speaker 6: I say, like high school up unto about twenty five years?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Maybe?
- 9:50Speaker 3: Oh?
- 9:51Speaker 7: They kids?
- 9:52Speaker 2: Don't wait roight you worked that you worked at her label?
- 9:55Speaker 2: You want that one? Yeah? You would. I don't know.
- 9:58Speaker 7: You don't know her demo. I don't know what the
- 10:00Speaker 7: hell was you doing over there?
- 10:01Speaker 2: I was doing a lot. I'm just getting easy money.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I'm not answering that.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I said.
- 10:06Speaker 6: I will say probably up to like like twenty five because.
- 10:09Speaker 8: She's the eighteen twenty four Yeah, because she's she has styles,
- 10:15Speaker 8: she's pretty, she's funny, like so people gravitate to her
- 10:19Speaker 8: because of her personality and her style.
- 10:22Speaker 6: She's different, she does different things and what she says,
- 10:24Speaker 6: she says like what's on her mind. She keeps it
- 10:26Speaker 6: real and she not in a lot of drama. Like
- 10:29Speaker 6: she not in any drama.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Shout out to sweet because she has an amazing team.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I don't know anybody on her team. I just know
- 10:35Speaker 1: those deals that I see her signing, and I'm like.
- 10:39Speaker 2: She has actually has a partnership too. I don't know
- 10:41Speaker 2: if it's expired her still, but and she finds so
- 10:44Speaker 2: Icy all her signed the warner. It's so icy, and
- 10:47Speaker 2: then so Icy signed the warner. It's dope, sweety, smart man.
- 10:51Speaker 4: She chooses a lot of things that she want to
- 10:53Speaker 4: do because if she don't want to do it, she's
- 10:55Speaker 4: not doing it.
- 10:55Speaker 3: It ain't.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I don't understand why she gets so much
- 10:58Speaker 1: hate because she seems such a like a sweet girl.
- 11:01Speaker 1: You never really hear any drama about her, and she
- 11:04Speaker 1: get into the bag.
- 11:05Speaker 2: It's just the record. She drops.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Never really do anything. That's all her last three records
- 11:09Speaker 1: didn't really do anything. Her hit was so ic, but
- 11:14Speaker 1: don't forget she was she was on she was on
- 11:17Speaker 1: the road, and she had three bangers.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Then she had best friends. She had three bankers. That
- 11:22Speaker 2: that's what I'm saying and get another hit.
- 11:25Speaker 1: She had three bangers, so that's that solidified her already,
- 11:28Speaker 1: So she already solidified. However, the most recent stuff hasn't.
- 11:32Speaker 1: But that's if we bring Cardi into the equation. Cardi
- 11:35Speaker 1: at least goes number one.
- 11:37Speaker 2: When she dropped, yeah, for sure every.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Time, even Bogos that wasn't our favorite, but it still
- 11:43Speaker 1: went number one radio. I just think, I just think
- 11:46Speaker 1: I see a lot of female hate on the internet
- 11:48Speaker 1: right now.
- 11:49Speaker 2: And I think it all can't get along.
- 11:51Speaker 1: But but I know I'm saying as far as like
- 11:53Speaker 1: the fans, I think the fans are like so mad
- 11:56Speaker 1: that that these females are so popping more than the
- 11:59Speaker 1: male rappers.
- 12:00Speaker 4: So, speaking of that, what do you think about when
- 12:02Speaker 4: Joe Budden said that the female rap trend is over?
- 12:05Speaker 5: We'll be right back with more of a Baller Alert shell.
- 12:11Speaker 5: You're listening to a special edition of the Baller Alert Show.
- 12:14Speaker 2: The Girl Rapper Wavers Over. I don't think. I don't
- 12:16Speaker 2: think the trend is over.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I just think it became so saturated because if you
- 12:20Speaker 1: go to Magic City. I go to Magic City, it's
- 12:23Speaker 1: always a stripper telling me she raps Now if I go,
- 12:28Speaker 1: you know, to the club, the bottlegirl's a rapper.
- 12:31Speaker 6: Now, well, I mean because it's it's reachable, Like you
- 12:35Speaker 6: can be a rapper if you talking about some shit
- 12:38Speaker 6: that people want to hear. Yeah, and you got a
- 12:40Speaker 6: good producer, shit, you could be a fucking rapper.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Like.
- 12:43Speaker 6: It's not because it's it's because they're starting to see
- 12:45Speaker 6: that people a lot more women that are like them
- 12:48Speaker 6: are starting to be successful. So since they see that,
- 12:51Speaker 6: they feel like they could be the same way. But
- 12:53Speaker 6: that's because they have people that they can like, idols
- 12:56Speaker 6: like that they can look up to that's doing that.
- 12:58Speaker 6: It used to be like super difficult for women to
- 13:00Speaker 6: get into the industry and get into the rap industry whatever.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Now it's like she anybody can make it because people.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Can say men or women. Yeah, men and women.
- 13:09Speaker 1: But I just think I don't think that the trend
- 13:12Speaker 1: is over, or even if it is a trend.
- 13:13Speaker 2: I just think it's just so saturating.
- 13:15Speaker 7: I'm sure exactly if he says trend, but it was
- 13:17Speaker 7: he said along.
- 13:18Speaker 2: That line, the girl rapper waves over, Well, why.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Would you say it's over?
- 13:21Speaker 6: And it's steadily steady women, I think.
- 13:25Speaker 2: It's just I think it's only the beginning.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Honestly, I agree too, because the women are dropping more
- 13:30Speaker 1: music consistent than the male rappers.
- 13:32Speaker 3: I'm just saying, like, women run everything.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I'm about we about to see like a very soon.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I feel like I feel like we're going to start
- 13:39Speaker 1: seeing a lot more bigger women executives and like labels
- 13:43Speaker 1: ran by head like you you know, like.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Ceo P from Quality Control.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Don't be surprised if you eventually see a female rand label.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Trust when you do have a lot of female executives.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Have we seen one run a label like how P
- 13:57Speaker 1: and Coach K and that's.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Coming soon to What was that?
- 14:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Electra what's her name? Who brought Missy on? She's
- 14:08Speaker 4: a legend, dang.
- 14:10Speaker 7: Her hurt her thing escaping.
- 14:12Speaker 4: But she she was in charge of the whole Electra
- 14:15Speaker 4: brought on, you know, Missy More.
- 14:17Speaker 1: I'm just saying, like more, I think it's going to
- 14:20Speaker 1: be a lot more because it's time female. You need
- 14:25Speaker 1: a you need female representation at the head of the table.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Yeah, at the end of the day, Like let's not
- 14:30Speaker 6: let's not forget that women really run ship. That's just
- 14:35Speaker 6: what it is. Even in a marriage, women run the marriage.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I don't think any.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Team.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I'm saying, like the women is the head of okay,
- 14:50Speaker 3: is in charge? Women in charge of things.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Okay, women are definitely in charge of things.
- 14:55Speaker 3: And they are and it's a minute's people in charge.
- 14:59Speaker 2: That's how it works.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Okay, Well we'll leave that where it's at. Both people
- 15:01Speaker 3: are in charge, if you're.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Okay, both people are in charge, but it may not
- 15:05Speaker 1: be fifty to fifty, but somebody gonna have some say.
- 15:08Speaker 3: So, okay, call her right now. We're gonna ask.
- 15:10Speaker 2: She's at work a very good job.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I ain't gonna interrupt what I'm just saying.
- 15:15Speaker 6: Like women, for a while, we've been running a lot
- 15:18Speaker 6: of things and we just had to like like let
- 15:21Speaker 6: it be known or or I guess have examples of
- 15:25Speaker 6: how we can run things for people can actually start
- 15:28Speaker 6: putting respect on our name, and so like now it's
- 15:32Speaker 6: it's opening up a lot of opportunities for women, Like
- 15:34Speaker 6: now you see women being coaches for football teams and
- 15:38Speaker 6: and uh, it's just it's just opening up the doors,
- 15:40Speaker 6: like women are coming up like taking over right now,
- 15:43Speaker 6: and I'm just super I'm happy for that.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I'm happy for it. So I don't think it's gonna stop.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I think it's just gonna start evolving, because evolution is
- 15:52Speaker 1: like it's gonna happen.
- 15:54Speaker 4: Yeah, she was so Sylvia Rohan. I was saying she
- 15:57Speaker 4: was the CEO of Electure Records. Today she's a CEA
- 16:00Speaker 4: LEO of Epic Records.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Wow, which is dope, because again, it's just going to
- 16:05Speaker 1: be more of that. Like look at Tina, who was
- 16:07Speaker 1: a friend of the show. Mattina is s VP at
- 16:10Speaker 1: Death Jam. She's one She's one position away from being
- 16:14Speaker 1: the head honcho at that jam.
- 16:15Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. So again, it's just gonna
- 16:17Speaker 2: be more of that.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I love that so much.
- 16:20Speaker 2: It helps.
- 16:21Speaker 7: Like even look at the Grammys chair.
- 16:25Speaker 4: He's a black man, even though he looks even though
- 16:27Speaker 4: he's mixed.
- 16:28Speaker 1: But you know, yeah, I definitely thought. I definitely thought
- 16:30Speaker 1: he was white. I definitely did, correct.
- 16:35Speaker 7: I mean, I just be knowing these crazy facts.
- 16:37Speaker 4: But another fact, Jarrel says, well maybe in fact, Jarrel
- 16:40Speaker 4: says that he won in a fight between him and fifty.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Cent, but you've actually had a physical fight with him.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Absolutely he was I did. Is it the legendary fight
- 16:49Speaker 2: that happened a long time ago? And then someone got stashed.
- 16:52Speaker 7: Sure, he didn't specify what fight it was.
- 16:57Speaker 1: You know, fifty used to be a boxer like he,
- 17:01Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know. And Joe Rue was kind
- 17:03Speaker 1: of miniature, but he got bigger later. So if it's
- 17:05Speaker 1: the fight that happened a long time ago, I don't know.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Pears Morgan asked him if he ever, uh you know,
- 17:12Speaker 4: was in a fight with Joe rub if they were
- 17:14Speaker 4: in a fight with the When he said, well, that's
- 17:15Speaker 4: happened already, like and he said did you win?
- 17:18Speaker 1: He was like, yeah, I don't think he was. So
- 17:20Speaker 1: why But why is Pears Morgan asking r those type?
- 17:24Speaker 3: First of all, who's gonna admit to get the ass beat?
- 17:26Speaker 2: Nobody canless it's on camera.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Then even if you get your ass whooped on camera,
- 17:32Speaker 1: you ain't gonna met you got yours one camera off camera.
- 17:35Speaker 6: Somebody asked me any fight that I've ever been into
- 17:37Speaker 6: my entire life, Somebody asked me if I won?
- 17:38Speaker 3: Yes?
- 17:39Speaker 7: I right?
- 17:41Speaker 3: Like are you talking about? I don't.
- 17:43Speaker 6: Sometimes half the time, when you fight anyway, you don't
- 17:45Speaker 6: even feel the blows.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Your adrenaline already.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Last for twenty seconds. Yeah, Like there's no boxing map, like.
- 17:55Speaker 3: How many times you hit me? I don't know. I
- 17:57Speaker 3: didn't feel it. I didn't feel it.
- 17:58Speaker 1: People like you, nobody's every nobody's ever gonna say I
- 18:02Speaker 1: got my ass.
- 18:04Speaker 4: I mean even in real boxing, like you know, sometimes
- 18:07Speaker 4: you watch it and then at the end it doesn't
- 18:10Speaker 4: seem like anybody won.
- 18:11Speaker 7: But then they're like, well this person got these many.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Hits and in the actual.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Punches missed too.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Yeah that's and that's yeah, maybe he meant that.
- 18:23Speaker 7: Maybe he meant the technicality.
- 18:25Speaker 3: First of all, If I.
- 18:27Speaker 6: If I had to choose if he was lying or not,
- 18:29Speaker 6: then I would say he's definitely because fifty and jo Ru.
- 18:35Speaker 6: If I had to choose a fighter in a street fight,
- 18:37Speaker 6: I'm going with fifty every time.
- 18:39Speaker 4: Even the size the weight class got bumped up a little.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Doing the push up.
- 18:46Speaker 6: Don't act like we ain't recently see somebody gets slunk.
- 18:49Speaker 6: People getting slung around, like dot matter how big or
- 18:52Speaker 6: small people is getting.
- 18:54Speaker 7: Slung Oh, like, what's his name? Cam Newton?
- 18:58Speaker 2: He was slinging as man, but were men?
- 19:01Speaker 1: But that man they called him the reason the way
- 19:04Speaker 1: you and Jojo and Jojo spoke to him, Yeah.
- 19:08Speaker 7: We learned they were men.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Just by watching your.
- 19:11Speaker 6: I know, so crazy thing is the guy with the dress,
- 19:14Speaker 6: he's like six one or something like that.
- 19:17Speaker 2: He's taking like six six or something.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I know he's talking.
- 19:22Speaker 1: He's a jack guy, you know what I'm saying. First
- 19:25Speaker 1: of all, that's a whole nother story. But I don't
- 19:27Speaker 1: even know why they tried to fight his big ass.
- 19:29Speaker 7: What they say it was he was they were provoked.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Yeah, they've been.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I mean, that's don't be in that don't mean don't
- 19:35Speaker 2: play sports then, because they talked ship, they talked and sports.
- 19:39Speaker 6: But I did hear though at seven on seven they
- 19:41Speaker 6: talk a lot of it's greasy, like like man to
- 19:45Speaker 6: see you like listen.
- 19:47Speaker 1: That's why I don't play basketball at l A Fitness
- 19:49Speaker 1: That's why I go to DC Basketball runs because I'm like,
- 19:53Speaker 1: you play basketball against people like regular people.
- 19:56Speaker 2: They want professionals, they want to fight.
- 19:58Speaker 6: I question, though, do you you is there a like
- 20:02Speaker 6: if a man talks to you crazy, is it a
- 20:04Speaker 6: certain thing that you'd be like, No, I'm just not
- 20:06Speaker 6: gonna let you talk to me like that.
- 20:07Speaker 1: I got too much shit to lose. I don't give
- 20:11Speaker 1: a fuck. Well, nobody say to me. I got way
- 20:13Speaker 1: too much. On the other hand, unless you touch my
- 20:16Speaker 1: wife or my kids, I'm not I don't.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Given what you say to me.
- 20:20Speaker 3: Okay, what about you like.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Say, it's certain things that you just can't say, like
- 20:27Speaker 1: we're gonna have to get down, Like it's just certain
- 20:29Speaker 1: things that you can't say.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Like I didn't even know.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I didn't even know this was a thing from being
- 20:33Speaker 1: around like I got like a lot of New York homies.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I didn't even know, like this was like a fight
- 20:38Speaker 1: where it was like if you if a man tell
- 20:40Speaker 1: you to suck its private parties, like you got a
- 20:42Speaker 1: file off.
- 20:43Speaker 3: On him, Like, well, you see what I'm saying, like stuff.
- 20:45Speaker 2: You can't say. I'm on camera.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I don't even I don't even got time to I
- 20:49Speaker 1: don't got time to lose nothing. I take care of
- 20:51Speaker 1: too many people. I gotta take care of too many households.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I don't got time for all that. You can say
- 20:57Speaker 1: whatever you want, just don't touch my wife and my kids.
- 20:59Speaker 1: You my wife and my kids. I'm at you outside
- 21:01Speaker 1: of that, I don't give what you tell me.
- 21:03Speaker 6: I just asked because like a man, I don't know.
- 21:05Speaker 6: Because as a woman, if a woman say something to me,
- 21:07Speaker 6: or to you like, okay, you shouldn't have know, Like
- 21:13Speaker 6: the only reason like you're gonna get me out my
- 21:15Speaker 6: body is if you touch me or my kids, but
- 21:18Speaker 6: say something to my kids, I might go there, I
- 21:20Speaker 6: might go my wife and kid.
- 21:23Speaker 1: You talk about any one of them or say something
- 21:25Speaker 1: about them or touch one is on. But that's that's
- 21:27Speaker 1: why we gotta be, you know, proactive. And that's why
- 21:30Speaker 1: I said, hey, I don't play basketball at I know
- 21:35Speaker 1: that I'm gonna put myself in a bad position. Not
- 21:38Speaker 1: that they're gonna, I just try to stay stay away
- 21:41Speaker 1: from like certain environments. That's why certain clubs, I'll be like,
- 21:44Speaker 1: I don't want to host that club because I just
- 21:46Speaker 1: don't want to put myself in a position to lose
- 21:48Speaker 1: my position or go there or attend this thing.
- 21:52Speaker 6: Yeah, for sure, that's that's good though. That's that's a maturity.
- 21:57Speaker 7: But I understand what you're saying because a lot of
- 21:59Speaker 7: men are big on respects.
- 22:00Speaker 4: So it's just like you ain't gonna just disrespect me
- 22:03Speaker 4: and think I'm not gonna do nothing.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Get I get it. I get it.
- 22:06Speaker 4: Well, speaking of being provoked, how would you feel if
- 22:09Speaker 4: you were Uncle Shay Shake? Because they've been Uh. He
- 22:14Speaker 4: was popping out the truck at Total Wine.
- 22:16Speaker 2: He love it though, Man, he cool. I mean, I
- 22:19Speaker 2: mean this part of the game.
- 22:21Speaker 1: He he you want number one spot, You're gonna get
- 22:24Speaker 1: number one situation.
- 22:25Speaker 2: He loved that.
- 22:27Speaker 3: He loved being like trending. He loved trending that. I
- 22:29Speaker 3: don't mean nothing. He's still gonna be the same person
- 22:31Speaker 3: because that's just.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Who he is.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Yeah, already rich. He when he got out the car
- 22:39Speaker 1: and he hit the I said, hold on now, you're
- 22:44Speaker 1: getting too much money, hold on too much. It was
- 22:49Speaker 1: a little sat A lot of large athletes don't need
- 22:55Speaker 1: to do that.
- 22:56Speaker 2: That's jacked up muscular walk like that.
- 22:58Speaker 3: That's true.
- 23:00Speaker 2: That true, that's what they do.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Walk like that. I've seen a lot of.
- 23:07Speaker 2: People who are large men. They walk. You know who
- 23:12Speaker 2: I blamed this on.
- 23:12Speaker 1: That's I blamed this on Cat Williams because Cat Williams
- 23:16Speaker 1: is like a prophecy. He he told say say, this
- 23:21Speaker 1: is gonna take your show to another dimension. And that
- 23:25Speaker 1: man was not lined because when you got that number
- 23:27Speaker 1: one spot, I think they was. I saw someone on
- 23:30Speaker 1: the internet where they were showing the viewership between Skip
- 23:32Speaker 1: Baylor's viewership and.
- 23:34Speaker 2: They was showing saying his guard viewership, and I was like,
- 23:37Speaker 2: you know, that's what people do.
- 23:39Speaker 1: You know, people always want to find something against who
- 23:41Speaker 1: got the number one spot?
- 23:43Speaker 2: Okay, he we gotta get.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Something like y'all have made the man fire his assistant,
- 23:47Speaker 1: I mean stylist.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Come on, man, I.
- 23:50Speaker 6: Mean he's been in the blogs and stuff for a
- 23:54Speaker 6: while though, Like remember he almost got into a tussle
- 23:57Speaker 6: at the at the was it the Lakers in Memphis
- 23:59Speaker 6: or yeah, you know, and I think that's when he
- 24:03Speaker 6: kind of like actually I mean with him and skipped.
- 24:07Speaker 6: You know, if you know sports, you know, so you
- 24:09Speaker 6: keep up with that. But when like the entire world
- 24:11Speaker 6: really was like put on, I feel like it's with
- 24:13Speaker 6: that fight and.
- 24:16Speaker 3: That's what you because he looked crazy then too.
- 24:19Speaker 2: But it ain't never been on. It ain't never been
- 24:21Speaker 2: on this level.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Like I'm looking at the one hundred thousand shares and
- 24:26Speaker 1: stuff people sharing that to everybody.
- 24:27Speaker 2: So I'm like, I'm like, Cat Williams really top guy.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Yeah, he the top guy, and when you're the top guy,
- 24:33Speaker 1: you see what happens is always something.
- 24:35Speaker 6: No, I'm saying that to say he's he he has
- 24:38Speaker 6: been putting himself in a position to like trend the
- 24:41Speaker 6: way he because he's still there, Like he may not
- 24:44Speaker 6: have been number one, but you heard of him.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Like who is this guy? Then again who is this guy?
- 24:50Speaker 2: Man? I like how he has him. He holds many hats.
- 24:53Speaker 1: He's on ESPN. First take two days out the week.
- 24:56Speaker 1: He has the nightcap O Joe and Gilbert Areena. Then
- 25:00Speaker 1: he has club. These are multiple different things and as
- 25:04Speaker 1: media personalities, we all know you.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Have to have your hands, you'll have a lot of jobs.
- 25:08Speaker 2: So he's actually showing exactly what you need to do
- 25:12Speaker 2: to stay as relevant and make as much money as possible,
- 25:15Speaker 2: because you can't just put your hat and put all
- 25:18Speaker 2: your eggs in one basket. Are around the word you
- 25:20Speaker 2: know what? You know what I love love about him?
- 25:22Speaker 2: I love things that I didn't know.
- 25:25Speaker 1: As far as him saying the jobs that he was
- 25:28Speaker 1: removed from they didn't want him. It wasn't like because
- 25:31Speaker 1: I thought, I'm like, oh he leaving because he about
- 25:33Speaker 1: to go get the bag now.
- 25:34Speaker 2: No, he was like they didn't want me there. They didn't.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Yes, I think a lot of people who are in
- 25:41Speaker 1: his position or grow always leave a situation because they
- 25:45Speaker 1: felt slighted or the person that they left didn't kind
- 25:49Speaker 1: of they didn't see.
- 25:49Speaker 2: When he said he got pushed out.
- 25:50Speaker 6: He said pushed going against each other, or that he
- 25:53Speaker 6: always felt like he was like.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Yeah, one day, actually I actually enjoyed the shot.
- 26:05Speaker 7: When you're trying to put his glasses back on a
- 26:07Speaker 7: lot of people.
- 26:09Speaker 1: I actually watched that live and I just was like, WHOA.
- 26:14Speaker 1: I was just like I was eating was left over
- 26:18Speaker 1: spaghetti for the night before and it fell on the
- 26:20Speaker 1: floor because I was like, yo, I liked it.
- 26:25Speaker 6: But he feels like they was trying him as a man.
- 26:28Speaker 6: Uh and they were slight to him and.
- 26:30Speaker 2: See that fight.
- 26:31Speaker 1: But but you know what they probably was because we
- 26:34Speaker 1: haven't been in the situations where you know what I'm saying,
- 26:37Speaker 1: we got pushed out, and you know what, when you leave,
- 26:41Speaker 1: it's just.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Like that, that's when you elevate. His elevation has been televised.
- 26:47Speaker 3: I love that him.
- 26:48Speaker 1: And he's a dark skin brother with a lisp and
- 26:51Speaker 1: a lot of he has a lot of handicaps that
- 26:54Speaker 1: when you see it, you be like, man, I'm so
- 26:56Speaker 1: happy that he has because you know, usually it's the
- 26:59Speaker 1: affairs skin, nice hair, perfect teeth. He does have perfect teeth,
- 27:03Speaker 1: but he has a list when he talks and he stutters.
- 27:06Speaker 2: I stuttered too sometimes, So it.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Just gave me motivation, like this is a great representation
- 27:11Speaker 1: of someone in media that made it that doesn't have
- 27:15Speaker 1: to be perfect mode, the perfect mold of you know,
- 27:19Speaker 1: how it's supposed to be done.
- 27:20Speaker 2: He has a list.
- 27:22Speaker 7: Well, I think a lot of things are changing now.
- 27:24Speaker 7: You look at Resa Tisa.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Who just got ita contract from her her story that
- 27:31Speaker 4: did four hundred million on TikTok.
- 27:33Speaker 7: Now she wasn't paid properly.
- 27:35Speaker 2: For that's huge.
- 27:36Speaker 1: It's I mean, the world is changing every day right
- 27:38Speaker 1: before our eyes. And I and I love to see, uh,
- 27:42Speaker 1: you know, people from our culture getting these positions, getting
- 27:45Speaker 1: these bags and showing people you don't have to look
- 27:47Speaker 1: a certain way, you don't have to fit this perfect
- 27:50Speaker 1: mold to get these positions, because for a long time
- 27:53Speaker 1: in media, you gotta look a certain way. You you
- 27:57Speaker 1: couldn't have braids.
- 28:02Speaker 2: You know, And I do.
- 28:03Speaker 3: I do love that, But another side of me be
- 28:06Speaker 3: kind of like clean it up.
- 28:08Speaker 6: Sometimes I be hating on it sometimes, like why because
- 28:12Speaker 6: I just feel like it's so easy now and for
- 28:18Speaker 6: somebody who like who's older and had to go through
- 28:21Speaker 6: the mud, like had to go I had to go
- 28:24Speaker 6: to school, and I had to intern, and I had
- 28:26Speaker 6: to I had to do this. I had to do that,
- 28:28Speaker 6: and I'm working so hard to get to where I'm at,
- 28:30Speaker 6: and it's like you just at home and you do
- 28:33Speaker 6: a forty minute thing and you got something, like you know,
- 28:36Speaker 6: I get it everything. Ever, when it's your time, it's
- 28:38Speaker 6: your time. What's for you for you and I and
- 28:40Speaker 6: I do believe in that, and I'm not knocking anybody
- 28:43Speaker 6: else's success, but sometimes I just be like, Damn, I
- 28:48Speaker 6: didn't have to do all this.
- 28:49Speaker 1: I was talking to your co host Kodak, and we
- 28:51Speaker 1: gotta get Kodak on the show one time because Kodak
- 28:53Speaker 1: be handing some crazy shit. I was telling Kodak. I
- 28:57Speaker 1: feel like, now it's like it's the bigger your brand is.
- 29:02Speaker 1: But I feel like what makes us stick apart stick
- 29:04Speaker 1: out is that we're consistent and we show true journalism,
- 29:09Speaker 1: and I feel that those are the people who sustain
- 29:11Speaker 1: a little longer, the true journalists. One time for just
- 29:14Speaker 1: hilarious because she kind of had to kind of bring
- 29:17Speaker 1: this on because remember she was a comedian. To get
- 29:20Speaker 1: a breakfast club slot, you really had to learn some
- 29:23Speaker 1: type of radio mechanics. And if you listen to the show,
- 29:27Speaker 1: she'll fumble here and there sometimes because that's the journalism
- 29:30Speaker 1: that didn't come from people like us who traditional traditionally
- 29:35Speaker 1: learned it by going through it the hard way. She
- 29:38Speaker 1: kind of came in with the brand, and you'll see
- 29:40Speaker 1: that those certain people get picked because of the brand,
- 29:43Speaker 1: and then you get certain people that come up journalists.
- 29:45Speaker 2: But that's why I feel like radio is never going
- 29:47Speaker 2: to die because on radio you actually have to be good.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Well I'm just thinking honest to sustain what jojo what
- 29:54Speaker 1: you were saying. To add on what you were saying,
- 29:57Speaker 1: I agree. But the one thing that I do don't
- 30:00Speaker 1: like about with our position, like as far as being
- 30:04Speaker 1: journalists and media, is that now we live in a
- 30:07Speaker 1: day and age where now they just want the celebrity
- 30:10Speaker 1: come do this. Now, it's like we don't even care
- 30:12Speaker 1: about the people that got ten to fifteen years experience
- 30:16Speaker 1: is really doing this really passionate about it.
- 30:18Speaker 2: They just want to get a celebrity.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Like now you even see on the radio, it's just
- 30:23Speaker 1: like we're just gonna put a celebrity on the radio.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's no shot to nobody, even.
- 30:28Speaker 3: If on a red carpet, to interview these these we
- 30:31Speaker 3: want to.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Put a celebrity to interview people, and then when they're like, man,
- 30:35Speaker 1: this person suck. They don't know how to interview, they
- 30:37Speaker 1: don't know how to do this, I'm like, Dug, that's
- 30:39Speaker 1: like telling a guy that's.
- 30:41Speaker 2: You know, it's popular, thank you exactly, Like.
- 30:45Speaker 1: This person is popular in football, so we're gonna make
- 30:47Speaker 1: him a starting point guard for our for our basketball team.
- 30:50Speaker 7: Like yeah, I mean I like the change.
- 30:54Speaker 4: You know, I've I too, worked super hard, go to school,
- 30:57Speaker 4: all that stuff, but I feel like it all shape
- 31:00Speaker 4: me for today because I learned so much that I
- 31:03Speaker 4: can apply to now. But it's such a it's not
- 31:07Speaker 4: an even playing field because when you have the celebrity
- 31:09Speaker 4: to come in and be like, well, I'm finnah, I
- 31:11Speaker 4: have this power behind me, which is money. Sometimes that
- 31:15Speaker 4: can just you know, buy all the nice equipment and
- 31:17Speaker 4: then you know, they go viral for their opinion because
- 31:21Speaker 4: everybody want to know what they think.
- 31:22Speaker 7: That's kind of unfair.
- 31:24Speaker 4: But the rawness of a TikTok or Instagram for somebody
- 31:29Speaker 4: to come and make something up, you know, put their
- 31:31Speaker 4: ideas out there and get a chance to go viral.
- 31:34Speaker 4: I think it's changing the way that we see things
- 31:37Speaker 4: and you can't have a raw talent like a just
- 31:39Speaker 4: hilarious come on a breakfast club and just be herself
- 31:41Speaker 4: or bring you know, that that piece of internet to
- 31:45Speaker 4: the forefront to radio so that it doesn't die. So
- 31:49Speaker 4: I like it because it's just like now it's like
- 31:52Speaker 4: everybody trying to do the same thing, even celebrities they
- 31:54Speaker 4: trying to you know, figure out the formula too.
- 31:57Speaker 6: And that's all good and that's all funny games and
- 32:00Speaker 6: up to everybody who's doing that. And I'm not knocking
- 32:02Speaker 6: nobody who doing that, and you know, I rock with
- 32:04Speaker 6: who is like successful. I'm just saying that for me
- 32:07Speaker 6: being a personality, like it's just harder to like get
- 32:12Speaker 6: on at yeah when you're like going about it, you know,
- 32:17Speaker 6: the bookway.
- 32:18Speaker 3: That's all I'm saying.
- 32:19Speaker 6: So I just need to pop up my phone and
- 32:20Speaker 6: say yeah that and well, I don't know, I don't
- 32:24Speaker 6: like these people, but if you.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Go that way, it's it's I like the way that
- 32:28Speaker 4: it's opened up so you can have new ways to go,
- 32:30Speaker 4: because you could say one thing and then your life
- 32:32Speaker 4: will change. You know what I'm saying that you know,
- 32:35Speaker 4: you can go viral off of something slight. You know,
- 32:39Speaker 4: you could be Yeah, you could be in the club
- 32:40Speaker 4: or something you've been going off with somebody, somebody tape you,
- 32:43Speaker 4: and then it'd be a powerful speech. You'd be like, man,
- 32:45Speaker 4: look at this girl, she like Amanda Seals, you know
- 32:48Speaker 4: what I'm saying, when she went off on Caitlyn Jenner,
- 32:51Speaker 4: and it's just like, you know, it just turned her
- 32:53Speaker 4: world into something else.
- 32:55Speaker 7: I mean I like it.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you definitely one content. Oh wait from
- 33:02Speaker 1: success or failure successful failure.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I just see the way cancelation.
- 33:07Speaker 4: But to your point though, I just seen something on
- 33:09Speaker 4: Instagram and it's like, you know, y'all made us do
- 33:11Speaker 4: all these things and then the rules change.
- 33:13Speaker 1: What people don't understand is going to school, all these things.
- 33:18Speaker 1: That's designed for you to be in the box. It's
- 33:22Speaker 1: designed for you to do what the people in the
- 33:26Speaker 1: higher power want you to do. Make them do this,
- 33:29Speaker 1: make them do that. So I can put these people
- 33:31Speaker 1: in a box so they don't think outside or think
- 33:33Speaker 1: any of this is possible. But now what's happening with
- 33:36Speaker 1: the Internet. Everybody's showing you that it's possible. With somebody
- 33:39Speaker 1: on TikTok or YouTube right now that's twenty three years old,
- 33:43Speaker 1: making millions.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Of dollars and they didn't have to do shit.
- 33:46Speaker 1: I wish it was like this when I was in college,
- 33:48Speaker 1: because I slick went viral in college because I had
- 33:51Speaker 1: a radio show at my college university one time for
- 33:53Speaker 1: USF and I went viral. I had a girl on
- 33:56Speaker 1: my show. A guy on my show said this girl
- 33:58Speaker 1: gave him an STD. Then the girl came on my
- 33:59Speaker 1: show and said, no, I gave it back to the guy.
- 34:02Speaker 1: The guy goes to the cafeteria tells the girl she's
- 34:06Speaker 1: a whole. The girl lies and say he hits her.
- 34:08Speaker 1: He gets kicked off the football team. The president of
- 34:10Speaker 1: the university was like, Yo, how did this happen? And
- 34:15Speaker 1: they were like, it was on this radio show. This
- 34:18Speaker 1: got this kid named Sean Simpson. And but there was
- 34:21Speaker 1: no Internet like that. It was just America online and
- 34:24Speaker 1: we had aim you know what I'm saying, So it
- 34:26Speaker 1: was just word of mouth. If I had the Internet
- 34:28Speaker 1: when that happened, and I was twenty one years old,
- 34:33Speaker 1: when that happened, Like, dude, if I would have had.
- 34:35Speaker 7: The internet, got hired on somebody TV show or.
- 34:40Speaker 2: I did not get the internship at ninety five point
- 34:43Speaker 2: seven to be which now I have the show on Sunday.
- 34:47Speaker 2: The whole fucking sixteen years late.
- 34:49Speaker 7: Gratulations, you know what I'm saying.
- 34:50Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, like I applied for the internship,
- 34:53Speaker 1: I didn't get it.
- 34:54Speaker 2: But if that, if I went viral how I went on.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Campus, that I would have been easier for you. I
- 35:00Speaker 1: would have been right in. And I had a communications major. Yeah,
- 35:03Speaker 1: that's what I went to school for.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Do you talk on the radio? Yeah?
- 35:06Speaker 7: Internet is like the equalizer.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Well that's why that's why I dropped out of school
- 35:10Speaker 1: because once once I was in college, I was getting
- 35:13Speaker 1: mass communication degree, and it was you know these guys
- 35:17Speaker 1: that were on the radio.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I'm like, crazy, I'm having a conversation with them. I'm like,
- 35:20Speaker 2: you go to school for this? No? No, I'm like,
- 35:24Speaker 2: so what am I going to school for?
- 35:25Speaker 1: Everybody that I'm looking up to in this position didn't
- 35:28Speaker 1: even cruise change.
- 35:29Speaker 2: They're not even going through this.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Do people ask for you all's degree? Have you have anybody.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Asked, So, yeah, when I had a day jib when
- 35:38Speaker 1: I graduated college. That's the last time I had to
- 35:41Speaker 1: do it before then it was just more so.
- 35:44Speaker 3: I've never had anyone ask me.
- 35:47Speaker 2: That's when I was at least in the media world.
- 35:50Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean because because your resume is one is
- 35:53Speaker 1: your face card.
- 35:54Speaker 4: Well, the way that I started my career, I was
- 35:56Speaker 4: in college and I was actually working while I was
- 35:58Speaker 4: still in school, So it just they just pulled.
- 36:02Speaker 7: Me right out of there.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Yes, they think how mine was.
- 36:04Speaker 4: I was just gone, So I didn't really have to
- 36:07Speaker 4: do it because you know, it's really about who you know,
- 36:10Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. So it's kind of like, oh,
- 36:13Speaker 4: I know you do, Okay, cool it is.
- 36:15Speaker 1: You know, one time for FLYG got DC he got
- 36:17Speaker 1: drafted right out of college. Some people get drafted out.
- 36:19Speaker 2: Of college because I remember we went and watched him
- 36:22Speaker 2: do mansioning on on Friday.
- 36:24Speaker 1: He was a criminal justice major. He never even thought
- 36:26Speaker 1: about doing radio, and then me, DJ Holladay and Stix
- 36:30Speaker 1: Malone came and watched him, and then he came to
- 36:33Speaker 1: the streets now for five But I.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Will say the college does give you a boost because
- 36:40Speaker 4: those they have relationships with corporations and things like that,
- 36:44Speaker 4: so they can get you in the door, have those
- 36:46Speaker 4: people recruits come and look at you and.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Stuff like that. That's how I got my job.
- 36:50Speaker 6: They had like the radio station to come to the
- 36:52Speaker 6: school and did like open interviews or whatever.
- 36:55Speaker 3: And I got open.
- 36:56Speaker 6: I got like an entry level like I was doing
- 36:58Speaker 6: street team promotions or whatever. But you know, work yourself up.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Yeah. I went to twy So it's ain't that at all.
- 37:04Speaker 2: I went to a community college, Okay, I just I
- 37:08Speaker 2: only went for the loan.
- 37:10Speaker 7: I went to au and uh. From there, I started
- 37:15Speaker 7: working at viewn No.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Three. We had did the.
- 37:17Speaker 4: BT weekend and then then they was like, hey, I
- 37:22Speaker 4: want to come. Anybody want to have an internship at
- 37:25Speaker 4: Viewing O three And I didn't really know what that
- 37:27Speaker 4: was at the time that I was from here. I
- 37:28Speaker 4: was just like, okay, I ain't.
- 37:29Speaker 7: Got nothing to do.
- 37:30Speaker 4: And I went there and then it was an actual
- 37:33Speaker 4: interview for a job, not an internship. He was like,
- 37:36Speaker 4: you can't be I need to hire you. I can't
- 37:39Speaker 4: just have you interning here.
- 37:40Speaker 3: And trade school is it called trade school? I went
- 37:43Speaker 3: to media. I went to media school.
- 37:44Speaker 1: That's what that's what we should media we should be
- 37:46Speaker 1: having like that's in my opinion, that's why I feel
- 37:49Speaker 1: like if you're going to go to school for media,
- 37:51Speaker 1: that's what it should be for. It should be for
- 37:52Speaker 1: the connections, Like school should be able to draw media
- 37:55Speaker 1: personalities filmmakers and say, hey, you come here, you're gonna
- 37:58Speaker 1: get the connections you need and the knowledge you need,
- 38:01Speaker 1: and we're gonna make sure you good. But you know,
- 38:03Speaker 1: school is different from everybody else because of course, we
- 38:05Speaker 1: don't want.
- 38:05Speaker 2: No doctor to be like, hey, I'm a doctor. I
- 38:07Speaker 2: didn't even go to school.
- 38:08Speaker 3: You know what you want to be.
- 38:12Speaker 4: It's a difference when you know what you want to
- 38:14Speaker 4: be or what you want to do and you kind
- 38:16Speaker 4: of go in there and shape your career and start
- 38:18Speaker 4: your career like that. Because some people go in straight
- 38:20Speaker 4: out of high school, don't know what they want to
- 38:22Speaker 4: do and waste time and then I don't this ain't
- 38:25Speaker 4: for me, you know, they find themselves with a whole
- 38:28Speaker 4: bunch of debt.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Yeah man, ooh that was me. I did not know
- 38:31Speaker 3: what I want to do.
- 38:32Speaker 1: That debt is well, people don't understand at least I
- 38:37Speaker 1: wish I would have understood as a young black man
- 38:39Speaker 1: that my mom never told me I should go to
- 38:42Speaker 1: college or do anything like that, not in a bad way.
- 38:45Speaker 1: My mom was just always like, son, be passionate about
- 38:47Speaker 1: what you want to do. If you don't want to
- 38:48Speaker 1: go to school, you ain't got to go to school.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Just do something.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Luckily, I always had a job. I don't care if
- 38:54Speaker 1: I worked at Route twenty one, at and T Sprint.
- 38:56Speaker 1: I done worked at all those places. But what I
- 38:58Speaker 1: tell people is like, be mindful about when you go
- 39:01Speaker 1: to school and they try to tell you to get
- 39:03Speaker 1: this loan and that loan, go talk to somebody. Understand
- 39:06Speaker 1: what type of debt you're putting yourself into. Because a
- 39:08Speaker 1: lot of black people were not educated in the sense
- 39:11Speaker 1: of the school ram and how that stuff worked.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Because I was taking out loans and I didn't even
- 39:16Speaker 2: know it was a loan.
- 39:18Speaker 1: You know, they make it a send like this is
- 39:19Speaker 1: for you to get to be comfortable, you know, going
- 39:22Speaker 1: to school and you know this and that, and then
- 39:24Speaker 1: you look up and they asking you for ten thousand dollars,
- 39:28Speaker 1: you know, when you only went to school.
- 39:29Speaker 2: For three months and I only went to college for
- 39:31Speaker 2: three months, and I'm ten thousand in the whole. I
- 39:33Speaker 2: thought that was to help me survive.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Like you know, I will give that piece of advice,
- 39:38Speaker 4: like know what you're trying to do before you go
- 39:40Speaker 4: to an institution, because you can.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Walk out with debt A lot, a lot. I paid
- 39:47Speaker 2: off my debt, though I mean by the paying.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Off debt to paying off sheep.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Okay, this is a great conversation. We guys have nohe
- 39:56Speaker 4: nelse but ball or mail, so lit's get to it.
- 39:58Speaker 5: We'll be right back with more of the ball or
- 40:01Speaker 5: alert shows.
- 40:05Speaker 2: I am in love with my best friend, but I'm
- 40:07Speaker 2: scared to tell her because I know for a fact
- 40:10Speaker 2: it will mess up our friendship.
- 40:11Speaker 1: We've been best friends since high school. We are both
- 40:13Speaker 1: in our early thirties. We are both females that like
- 40:17Speaker 1: other females. My other issue is hiding my feelings. It's
- 40:21Speaker 1: also messing up our relationship because the more time we
- 40:23Speaker 1: spend together, the more in love I become.
- 40:26Speaker 2: What do I do well?
- 40:28Speaker 1: It seems like y'all shouldn't be spending this much time together.
- 40:32Speaker 1: You know, you definitely don't want to break up a
- 40:34Speaker 1: good friendship. If y'all friends and you in love with
- 40:36Speaker 1: this person, I feel like you should confess your love
- 40:41Speaker 1: if that's what you really want to do. If you
- 40:43Speaker 1: don't want to do that, you need to y'all need
- 40:44Speaker 1: some time apart. You know what I'm saying, Like not
- 40:47Speaker 1: their besties, go ahead.
- 40:48Speaker 3: If you want to be with this girl, then you're
- 40:51Speaker 3: gonna have to tell her.
- 40:52Speaker 6: And if she's really your best friend, she's not gonna
- 40:56Speaker 6: hold that against you, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 40:58Speaker 6: she might have a little bit feelings towards you too.
- 41:01Speaker 6: You don't know, she may not be in love with you,
- 41:03Speaker 6: but she probably got a little something, you know. Just
- 41:07Speaker 6: I think you need to tell You need to tell
- 41:08Speaker 6: her because if not, I think it's very much so predatorial.
- 41:12Speaker 3: You're praying on this woman every every chance you get.
- 41:16Speaker 2: It's gonna break your heart if you don't tell her.
- 41:18Speaker 2: So don't have your your heart broken.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Just tell her.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Just tell her. It's breaking her heart not to tell her.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Yeah, but what happens if you got to? What happens
- 41:29Speaker 1: if she don't? If she likes you, gotta live Like
- 41:32Speaker 1: we're supposed to be friends, but she's.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Not gonna be like we can't be friends anymore. If
- 41:37Speaker 3: y'all are best friends.
- 41:39Speaker 2: Maybe it's gonna be.
- 41:42Speaker 1: It's gonna be a little awkward because now you can't
- 41:44Speaker 1: get undressed in front of your friend because you know
- 41:46Speaker 1: she looking at you no matter.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I don't know. I just think if you don't tell,
- 41:52Speaker 2: it's gonna hurt more than if you tell her. And
- 41:55Speaker 2: then you know, y'all not as close as you know.
- 41:58Speaker 3: Just take the l gang, Just tell her and she's gone.
- 42:02Speaker 2: What if she's in love with you too, That's what
- 42:04Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 42:04Speaker 3: She might be like I like you back, or she
- 42:06Speaker 3: might not.
- 42:07Speaker 1: She's just waiting on you because she made me feel
- 42:09Speaker 1: awkward telling you that only happens in movies.
- 42:12Speaker 7: It's just like you know, if you say something and
- 42:15Speaker 7: it doesn't go your way, you'll be hurt. If you
- 42:18Speaker 7: don't say anything, you're hurting.
- 42:20Speaker 2: But you know, like said, can you live? Do you
- 42:23Speaker 2: not live with.
- 42:26Speaker 7: A chance that that you could be a happy ever after?
- 42:29Speaker 7: Because she may feel the same.
- 42:30Speaker 3: But even if it's not a happily ever after, say it,
- 42:32Speaker 3: because it's killing you.
- 42:33Speaker 2: It's killing would you would you rather? Yeah? I don't.
- 42:37Speaker 6: I don't want my heart to be hurt and every
- 42:38Speaker 6: time I'm with you because I want to tell you
- 42:40Speaker 6: that I love you, just say that I love Just
- 42:41Speaker 6: tell her.
- 42:42Speaker 7: That you love her, you in love with her?
- 42:43Speaker 2: What I just call to say I love you.
- 42:51Speaker 7: I didn't think about.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Smoking in La. Money Loan was right, though. They do
- 42:58Speaker 2: the hookahs in La the right way. They come body check,
- 43:01Speaker 2: they check on you.
- 43:02Speaker 7: Do you do it right at home?
- 43:03Speaker 8: Though?
- 43:04Speaker 1: When I smoke hooka it just depends, like if I
- 43:07Speaker 1: don't want to be out, I'll just smoke at home.
- 43:08Speaker 7: But I'm saying, do you do it the right way?
- 43:10Speaker 7: Like tapping all that stuff? She said, do you do
- 43:12Speaker 7: it the right way? You just do it the quick way, like.
- 43:14Speaker 2: And when you blow your nose it's sucked in it. No,
- 43:18Speaker 2: I do mine the right way. But long we got
- 43:21Speaker 2: we gotta talk about this hookah things. She's coming back
- 43:23Speaker 2: on the show. I'm a hookah connoisseur. I am a
- 43:29Speaker 2: hookah connoisseur.
- 43:31Speaker 4: Look.
- 43:31Speaker 2: I even told the guy when I was in La.
- 43:33Speaker 2: I said, hey, man, it's too much water here. He
- 43:35Speaker 2: was like, what do you mean there's too much water here?
- 43:37Speaker 1: Man supposed to be already know, was supposed to be smooth,
- 43:40Speaker 1: trust me, I'm And then when he took the water,
- 43:43Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying.
- 43:44Speaker 2: He came back. He was like, you was right, and
- 43:46Speaker 2: I was like this, I know, hey man, we gotta
- 43:51Speaker 2: leave soon.
- 43:52Speaker 7: We gotta leave on a pep talk. What should it be?
- 43:55Speaker 2: I got some patience? You know what, a lot of
- 43:59Speaker 2: people do that practice that we're patients, but we should
